After 30 years of public service — including 25 with Albemarle County Police and the last four as Chief — Sean Reeves is retiring October 1st, following a medical leave since May 8th. Under his leadership, the department modernized with cybercrime units, improved mental health response, rolled out body cameras, and handled major events like the Unite the Right rally and the COVID-19 pandemic.
