  Speaker 1: and it's time right now for today's word. Not everyone

  Speaker 1: will celebrate your shine. Genesis 37, 11 says, and Joseph's
• 0:16
  Speaker 1: brothers were envious and jealous of him. Joseph had a
• 0:21
  Speaker 1: dream from God and his brothers didn't celebrate it. They
• 0:24
  Speaker 1: became jealous and envious because they could see something on
• 0:27
  Speaker 1: Joseph's life that they didn't understand. And guess what? They
• 0:31
  Speaker 1: didn't like it. And sometimes when God's favor is evident
• 0:36
  Speaker 1: on your life, everybody isn't going to celebrate you. Some
• 0:40
  Speaker 1: people were fine with you when you were struggling. They
• 0:43
  Speaker 1: were comfortable when you were trying to figure things out.
• 0:46
  Speaker 1: But you got the promotion. Your business started growing. You
• 0:50
  Speaker 1: became confident. You started walking your purpose. You stopped settling.
• 0:54
  Speaker 1: You began making a difference. All of a sudden, the
• 0:58
  Speaker 1: atmosphere changed. You may encounter criticism, jealousy, fault finding, or
• 1:02
  Speaker 1: people trying to minimize what God is doing in your life.
• 1:06
  Speaker 1: But listen, don't let somebody else's discomfort make you dim
• 1:10
  Speaker 1: your light. Joseph's brother's jealousy didn't cancel Joseph's destiny. And
• 1:15
  Speaker 1: what people say about you can't cancel what God has
• 1:19
  Speaker 1: purposed for you. See, this is why you have to
• 1:21
  Speaker 1: become comfortable with the fact that everybody's not going to
• 1:24
  Speaker 1: be comfortable with you. You can't spend your life trying
• 1:28
  Speaker 1: to convince people to celebrate you. You can't constantly explain yourself,
• 1:33
  Speaker 1: defend yourself, or chase people down looking for their approval
• 1:37
  Speaker 1: because if you become dependent on people's applause, you'll become
• 1:41
  Speaker 1: distracted trying to maintain an audience that God never asked
• 1:46
  Speaker 1: you to impress. Come on, Jesus. Your assignment is not
• 1:50
  Speaker 1: to make everybody happy. Your assignment is to honor God
• 1:54
  Speaker 1: and sometimes the very thing People criticize about you is
• 1:57
  Speaker 1: connected to the very thing God is developing in you.

  Speaker 1: Come on, Jesus. I'm just saying. So keep growing. Keep serving.
• 2:10
  Speaker 1: Keep being kind. Keep walking in integrity. Keep showing up.
• 2:14
  Speaker 1: Keep using the gifts God gave you. And don't become
• 2:17
  Speaker 1: bitter toward people who don't celebrate you. You can love
• 2:20
  Speaker 1: people without needing their approval. Joseph eventually learned that the
• 2:24
  Speaker 1: pit wasn't the end of his story. The jealousy of
• 2:27
  Speaker 1: his brothers wasn't the end. The betrayal wasn't the end.
• 2:30
  Speaker 1: God was still working and he used all of that.
• 2:34
  Speaker 1: It worked together for his good. So don't allow somebody
• 2:36
  Speaker 1: else's reaction to your blessing to make you question whether
• 2:40
  Speaker 1: you're blessed. You don't need everybody's approval when you're already
• 2:43
  Speaker 1: approved by God. Let them talk. Let them misunderstand. Let
• 2:48
  Speaker 1: them underestimate you. You just keep on shining, not to
• 2:52
  Speaker 1: prove something to people, but because God placed that light
• 2:56
  Speaker 1: on the inside of you. Oh, Father God, thank you.
• 2:59
  Speaker 1: Thank you for the blessing. Thank you for the favor.

  Speaker 1: Thank you for the gifts and the purpose that you've
• 3:03
  Speaker 1: placed on our lives. Help us, God, not to become
• 3:06
  Speaker 1: discouraged when everyone doesn't celebrate us. Keep our hearts free
• 3:10
  Speaker 1: from bitterness, pride, and the need for people's approval. Teach
• 3:14
  Speaker 1: us to remain humble, faithful, and focused on you. When
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: criticism comes, God, remind us that you know our hearts
• 3:21
  Speaker 1: and you know the plans that you have for us. God,
• 3:23
  Speaker 1: we don't need everybody's approval. Father God, when we have
• 3:26
  Speaker 1: your approval, help us to keep shining, keep growing, and
• 3:30
  Speaker 1: keep honoring you with our lives in Jesus' name. That's
• 3:33
  Speaker 1: your word for today. Take it, apply it to your
• 3:36
  Speaker 1: everyday life, and you continue to be encouraged and inspired.
