Hello, I am Shauna, here with Olivia.
• 0:12
And this is your PCJ Pop.
• 0:14
So we recently talked about our love of horror comedy.
• 0:18
And I think that we need to pop the queen of Halloween
• 0:23
herself, horror comedy, from 1988, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.
• 0:29
So Elvira is played by Cassandra Peterson
• 0:33
and this is a character that she invented
• 0:36
kind of based on different like, you know,
• 0:39
  vampire-ish, a sexy horror host.
• 0:42
Elvira hosted Elvira's Movie Macabre from 1981 to 1986,
• 0:47
where she played Elvira and she kind of did like
• 0:50
in between commercial breaks, like cracked jokes
• 0:53
about the movie that you were watching
• 0:54
while also having her boobs out.
• 0:56
A great time, barrel of laughs.
• 0:58
So she got her own movie in 1988 called Elvira Mistress
• 1:03
  of the Dark.
• 1:04
Neither of us were alive in 1988, but you have since watched it
• 1:09
and I think it's just, it's so funny.
• 1:11
So it is a Los Angeles TV horror host
• 1:15
  is named Elvira.
• 1:16
She quits her job and she really wants to start her own
• 1:20
Vegas act at the Flamingo where she can have her
• 1:23
titty tassels go in every direction.
• 1:25
She also upon quitting her job inherits a mansion
• 1:29
from her great aunt has to move to me.
• 1:33
Well, she has to move to a kind of conservative,
• 1:37
very stuck up like, you know, tight asshole.
• 1:42
  - Yeah, her tite ass town.
• 1:44
  - Hey, thanks for turning around.
• 1:47
  - Hey, which leads to shenanigans
• 1:49
because Elvira shows up in her, you know,
• 1:52
  flora-ling tite ass.
• 1:53
  - Yeah, her tite ass all is ready.
• 1:56
Oh, and she meets just this really honky imbo
• 1:59
and who doesn't understand all of her sexual double
• 2:02
  entendres.
• 2:04
  - I love that.
• 2:05
  - Yes, oh my god, it's so funny and so like tongue and cheek
• 2:08
and just gooby and definitely does not take itself seriously.
• 2:11
  - Tongue and cheek.
• 2:13
  - That tongue and cheek.
• 2:14
  - Tongue and cheek.
• 2:15
  Elvira would love that.
• 2:17
So I am gonna pop this movie.
• 2:19
  Elvira Mistress of the Dark.
• 2:21
You can watch it in a lot of different places,
• 2:23
but I would say, you know, give it a whirl on Amazon Prime.
• 2:26
And that is going to be your PCJ Pop.
• 2:29
