- 0:06Speaker 1: Welcome back everyone. I have my very first guests, and
- 0:11Speaker 1: I wanted to have this special person on because he's
- 0:15Speaker 1: been through a lot with me and I am in
- 0:17Speaker 1: love with him. And I have my boyfriend here, Hi Erin.
- 0:23Speaker 2: So good to be here. Really excited for you.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Thank you. I get asked all the time how we met,
- 0:30Speaker 1: So I feel like that is where we should start,
- 0:33Speaker 1: because we have kind of a unique story, especially nowadays,
- 0:36Speaker 1: I feel like most people meet on apps, and we
- 0:39Speaker 1: certainly did not.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yeah, because every time somebody asks us, how did you meet,
- 0:46Speaker 2: and we always have to say, oh, we met at
- 0:47Speaker 2: a coffee shop, and they're like, oh, that's so cute.
- 0:51Speaker 1: It is cute. I love that. Apparently you saw me
- 0:55Speaker 1: first before I realized what was going on in my surroundings.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Yeah. So there's a coffee shop that's right in between
- 1:03Speaker 2: where you used to live and where I live. And
- 1:08Speaker 2: I'm sitting there. I think you had Isabella in the stroller,
- 1:10Speaker 2: and I'm waving to Isabella from across the room and
- 1:12Speaker 2: she's waving.
- 1:13Speaker 1: To me, and I have my headphones on. I'm listening
- 1:15Speaker 1: to music, so I'm in the zone.
- 1:19Speaker 2: And yeah, I noticed Michelle, but I didn't say hi
- 1:23Speaker 2: to you at that time, and I think a few
- 1:25Speaker 2: days later you came back to the cafe. That's when
- 1:27Speaker 2: we were standing in line together. We ordered our drinks.
- 1:30Speaker 2: We started chatting, and yeah, I realized you were in
- 1:33Speaker 2: real estate. I said, hey, I'm in wealth management financial planning.
- 1:38Speaker 2: And we both had good energy together and we said, hey,
- 1:42Speaker 2: let's go out to lunch and talk about potential clients
- 1:45Speaker 2: and things like that. Yeah, so then fast forward, it
- 1:49Speaker 2: kind of turned into you know, just meeting out and
- 1:53Speaker 2: about while you were walking and while I was walking
- 1:56Speaker 2: my dog.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it was very random and like here and there,
- 2:00Speaker 1: I am a walker and I say this a lot,
- 2:02Speaker 1: but it's very important to me. I, especially back then,
- 2:06Speaker 1: try to walk, you know, at least ten thousand steps
- 2:09Speaker 1: in the neighborhood or go on a hike. And that
- 2:12Speaker 1: was really my way of having alone time and having
- 2:16Speaker 1: my exercise and just like good for my mental health.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Like that walk was everything for me.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I used to do runying or I'm sure you
- 2:24Speaker 2: still do running all the time. I do running all
- 2:26Speaker 2: the time.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Runyon is a hiking trail in Hollywood Hills. So it's
- 2:31Speaker 1: it's pretty cool because it's like literally your backyard.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like four blocks from my house, so my playground,
- 2:38Speaker 2: and it's also a great place where a lot of
- 2:41Speaker 2: fitness people go. And So I have a honey company.
- 2:45Speaker 2: And I started this honey company as a passion project.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I remember I was so intrigued because it's like, who
- 2:51Speaker 1: doesn't love honey? It's so perfect, especially every night before
- 2:55Speaker 1: I go to sleep, I used to have honey. So
- 2:56Speaker 1: when you're like, oh, I have this unique white honey,
- 2:59Speaker 1: I'm like, what you mean white honey? What is that?
- 3:01Speaker 2: Yeah? Most people say I've never tried white honey. And
- 3:05Speaker 2: it started my friend brought me some honey from Slovakia
- 3:09Speaker 2: and it was white honey. And we're in the office
- 3:12Speaker 2: full suits, eating this honey out of a jar with
- 3:15Speaker 2: a spoon, and we're both so into it and we're like,
- 3:19Speaker 2: oh my god, this is best honey I ever had.
- 3:21Speaker 2: So I made it a mission to create my own
- 3:26Speaker 2: honey company and sell this honey so that everybody could
- 3:30Speaker 2: enjoy it. So I'm at Runyon Canyon and I set
- 3:35Speaker 2: up like a table and I'm selling honey there and
- 3:37Speaker 2: you happen to be there on a hike and you.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. So I run into you at Runnia, at
- 3:43Speaker 1: this hiking trail, and I see the honey, so I
- 3:46Speaker 1: buy it and I bring it home obviously, and Isabella
- 3:50Speaker 1: is addicted to this honey literally every single day for
- 3:54Speaker 1: about a year or a year and a half. She would
- 3:56Speaker 1: have to have this honey with her strawberries or any food.
- 4:00Speaker 1: So we develop a little friendship because we live in
- 4:03Speaker 1: the neighborhood, and you know, we were walkers and hikers,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and he was a good person to know because he's
- 4:09Speaker 1: a financial advisor, which is good for me. He could
- 4:11Speaker 1: refer me business, and you know, throughout the years, I
- 4:15Speaker 1: would just see him and chat with him whenever I
- 4:18Speaker 1: did see him. So why don't you tell us a
- 4:32Speaker 1: little bit about where you come from and tell us
- 4:35Speaker 1: about your parents, because I really love that dynamic of you,
- 4:38Speaker 1: just like that whole story.
- 4:41Speaker 2: You know, it's interesting that my story is is it's
- 4:45Speaker 2: funny that we're complimentary, but we're also there's some lead opposites.
- 4:50Speaker 1: There's so many similarities there are, and then there are
- 4:54Speaker 1: like drastic changes, just drastic opposites. Yeah, there is a
- 4:57Speaker 1: combination of both.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Almost like compliment tree opposite. So there was a time
- 5:02Speaker 2: that you and your mom like were side by side,
- 5:05Speaker 2: and you were raised by your mom and my dad. Actually,
- 5:10Speaker 2: so I'm the youngest of three boys, and my mom
- 5:14Speaker 2: and dad got divorced when I was young, when I
- 5:16Speaker 2: was like five years old. My mom, I was also
- 5:19Speaker 2: in real estate, and.
- 5:22Speaker 1: She she loves that about me, mm hmm.
- 5:24Speaker 2: And she's always commenting on the houses that you're showing
- 5:27Speaker 2: and she loves to be back in it.
- 5:29Speaker 1: She's like, I did that back in the two thousands,
- 5:32Speaker 1: nineteen nineties.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Yeah, my mom was was great in sales, and she
- 5:37Speaker 2: was she was a big motivation for me, just like
- 5:42Speaker 2: I really looked up to her as a businesswoman, as
- 5:45Speaker 2: somebody in sales, successful independent woman.
- 5:50Speaker 1: And so your parents got divorced when you were really young, yes,
- 5:54Speaker 1: and how old were you?
- 5:56Speaker 2: I was five. My mom ended up not wanting to
- 6:01Speaker 2: stay in Sacramento, where I'm from. But my mom was
- 6:04Speaker 2: born raised in Sacramento. My dad was born and raised
- 6:06Speaker 2: in Sacramento.
- 6:07Speaker 1: She wanted a change.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Yeah, she was really craving a change and anyhow, so
- 6:13Speaker 2: she moved to.
- 6:14Speaker 1: La And so you were raised by your dad.
- 6:17Speaker 2: My dad got full custody, and you.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Have two older brothers, So it's the three of you
- 6:23Speaker 1: plus your dad in one house.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, a lot of past Australia.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I cannot imagine, have you.
- 6:30Speaker 2: There was a lot of things that took me some
- 6:32Speaker 2: time to learn about, like women or whatnot like that
- 6:35Speaker 2: I just didn't experience growing up. But I would come
- 6:38Speaker 2: down to la and I would spend the summers with
- 6:40Speaker 2: my mom. But being raised by my dad. He was
- 6:45Speaker 2: a holistic health and wellness radio talk show host and
- 6:50Speaker 2: he spent his whole career just like educating people on health.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Imagine like Joe Rogan and jf RFK combined like with
- 7:00Speaker 2: a little bit of Jacquela Lane or whatnot. Like that
- 7:04Speaker 2: was my dad. He was this sort of pioneer of
- 7:06Speaker 2: the holistic health and wellness movement. I didn't get the
- 7:10Speaker 2: brand name foods. I didn't get soda. I didn't get
- 7:13Speaker 2: you know, the sandwiches and the fast food and the
- 7:16Speaker 2: things that all my other friends were getting.
- 7:18Speaker 1: And this is how there's a lot of similarities there
- 7:20Speaker 1: because growing up to a mom that cooked me homemade
- 7:25Speaker 1: food every single day, Like I didn't have any type
- 7:28Speaker 1: of fast food growing up to this day, A lot
- 7:31Speaker 1: of a lot of my friends make fun of me, like, oh,
- 7:34Speaker 1: you've never had McDonald's, Like, no, I tried it once,
- 7:38Speaker 1: but I've just that's not part of my diet.
- 7:41Speaker 2: And it's I don't want to say it was a
- 7:44Speaker 2: non negotiable for me, but it's something that I fell
- 7:48Speaker 2: in love with. Also, is that we have similar taste buds.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think I could. Like I can't imagine
- 7:53Speaker 1: being with somebody like you're a healthy person individual trying
- 7:57Speaker 1: to cook healthy homemade and then you're somebody that like
- 8:01Speaker 1: only goes out to restaurants or only eats fast foods.
- 8:04Speaker 1: That's just so opposite. I've never yeah, wanted that.
- 8:08Speaker 2: And it's not like I'm like a diet dietary maniac,
- 8:12Speaker 2: Like I don't like meal prep or make sure that
- 8:16Speaker 2: I have you skinless to dress with.
- 8:20Speaker 1: People ask me that all the time, like how many
- 8:22Speaker 1: calories do you eat in a day and what you
- 8:25Speaker 1: like what do you eat? And it's not about like
- 8:27Speaker 1: I don't track my food. It's just like I just
- 8:30Speaker 1: eat healthy in general, and that's just my philosophy. It's
- 8:34Speaker 1: like I don't need to I don't need to do
- 8:36Speaker 1: anything specific as long as you're healthy, like you're gonna
- 8:39Speaker 1: look good.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I call myself a qualitarian, and so it's not
- 8:43Speaker 2: a diet. It's like the quality of the food matters.
- 8:47Speaker 2: And I have staples like I drink raw milk and
- 8:52Speaker 2: you know, sprouted grain bread and pastured eggs. The funny
- 8:55Speaker 2: thing is I've been doing this for over twenty years.
- 8:58Speaker 2: But so yeah, a lot of influence by my dad.
- 9:01Speaker 2: He was mister mom. He cooked dinner almost every single night,
- 9:05Speaker 2: and he was an amazing father. Before I moved to LA,
- 9:09Speaker 2: my mom remarried. This gets fun, So she remarried the
- 9:14Speaker 2: complete opposite person of my dad. My stepdad, tool and
- 9:20Speaker 2: die maker, machinist from Ohio, Harley gun hunter, businessman, right,
- 9:30Speaker 2: very very different from my dad. And so yeah, when
- 9:35Speaker 2: I would go down to LA during the summers, I
- 9:38Speaker 2: got a really good sort of you know, mentorship from
- 9:44Speaker 2: just a completely different side of the brain, if you may. Like.
- 9:48Speaker 2: He ran pawn shops in LA and so I would
- 9:50Speaker 2: work at the pawn shops during the summer when I
- 9:54Speaker 2: would come down. Fast forward, I graduate high school, the
- 9:57Speaker 2: plan was I moved to LA, I work at the
- 10:02Speaker 2: pawnshops full time, pay my own way through school. It's
- 10:05Speaker 2: another similarity that we have, Like as soon as I
- 10:08Speaker 2: started going to city college, I paid my own way
- 10:10Speaker 2: and I worked. I worked at the pawn shop, and
- 10:12Speaker 2: I was learning about people. I was learning about things.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I was learning street smarts. I was learning how to
- 10:18Speaker 2: praise things and understand the authenticity and the quality and
- 10:22Speaker 2: the resellability. And then you get to yeah, you get
- 10:26Speaker 2: to know a lot about people. And so, yeah, my
- 10:31Speaker 2: stepdad was the kind of guy that like, hey, let
- 10:32Speaker 2: me buy your rifle, take your hunting, and turn you
- 10:35Speaker 2: into a man kind of thing. And so for me,
- 10:38Speaker 2: like being raised by my dad the sort of healthy
- 10:42Speaker 2: hippie philosopher to my stepdad being this very street smart,
- 10:48Speaker 2: business savvy sort of hunter mentality. It was a good combination.
- 10:53Speaker 2: M h.
- 10:54Speaker 1: And what I liked is that you told me growing up,
- 10:57Speaker 1: you were really close to your dad and your stepdad.
- 11:00Speaker 1: So it's like holidays, you guys would all get together,
- 11:03Speaker 1: which was a very different dynamic. Like I was not
- 11:05Speaker 1: raised like that, didn't I wasn't in a situation like that.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Yeah, my stepdad had an ex it's actually how he
- 11:14Speaker 2: got into the pawn shop business. But he divorced and
- 11:19Speaker 2: he stayed partners at the pawn shop, but they also
- 11:21Speaker 2: he stayed friends with his ex wife and she remarried,
- 11:25Speaker 2: And I mean, I'm what thirteen, twelve, thirteen, fourteen years old,
- 11:30Speaker 2: and they're coming over, like my stepdad's ex wife and
- 11:33Speaker 2: her husband. They're coming over to the house just casually
- 11:38Speaker 2: all the time. So it's just like community of ex
- 11:43Speaker 2: partners and current partners. And it was just seemed like
- 11:48Speaker 2: a normal thing back then. And so obviously, you know,
- 11:54Speaker 2: people change and that dynamic didn't stay forever.
- 12:10Speaker 1: So fast forward, I had separated an asked for a divorce,
- 12:13Speaker 1: and I had seen Aaron and I wanted to give
- 12:16Speaker 1: him an update.
- 12:17Speaker 2: It had been a while since the last time we
- 12:19Speaker 2: saw each other, so there was a lot to catch
- 12:21Speaker 2: up on.
- 12:22Speaker 1: And then he starts telling me about a trip that
- 12:24Speaker 1: he had recently had. He has a brother that lives
- 12:28Speaker 1: in Thailand, and he brought he took his dad to Thailand.
- 12:33Speaker 1: So he was just telling me what he's been up
- 12:36Speaker 1: to the last couple of months. And he told me
- 12:38Speaker 1: a funny story about he was in a relationship with
- 12:41Speaker 1: this Russian girl and why she broke up with him
- 12:44Speaker 1: while he was traveling. Do you want to kind of
- 12:46Speaker 1: say that story because it's kind of funny.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Oh yeah, this was I would say we were dating
- 12:58Speaker 2: and I went to Thailand. I had originally planned for
- 13:04Speaker 2: somebody to watch my dog and it ended up last
- 13:09Speaker 2: minute not working out, and so I just I think
- 13:13Speaker 2: she volunteered to say, hey, if you need help, like
- 13:16Speaker 2: I can walk your dog. But then I was getting
- 13:20Speaker 2: updates and things, and she she was sort of hinting
- 13:23Speaker 2: that she doesn't, you know, she hates doing this. She
- 13:26Speaker 2: doesn't like picking up the poop, like, and I mean.
- 13:30Speaker 1: You really have to love a guy to pick up
- 13:32Speaker 1: his dog's poop.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Yeah, so that means we were not that we weren't in.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Love, she text you.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Yeah. So then one day she texts me and basically said,
- 13:48Speaker 2: f this, I'm over it. I'm tired of walking your dog,
- 13:53Speaker 2: like we're done. And I was like, are you being serious?
- 13:58Speaker 2: She said yes. I knew that what she said she
- 14:01Speaker 2: meant it, and I knew we were done even from
- 14:05Speaker 2: just how drastic that was and just out of the blue,
- 14:08Speaker 2: I felt like it was. I knew that this is done.
- 14:12Speaker 2: And so I went on to Japan and I was
- 14:16Speaker 2: there for ten days in Tokyo, and but I had
- 14:20Speaker 2: gotten back and so yeah, when we met up that day.
- 14:23Speaker 2: I was I was telling you about all all, and I.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Was like, I half agree with her, because I really
- 14:29Speaker 1: have to love, Like I would really have to love
- 14:31Speaker 1: you to agree to do all that work. But some
- 14:35Speaker 1: people are just like natural animal lovers. And I have
- 14:38Speaker 1: a dog, Malibu, which I love, but like, actually, my
- 14:41Speaker 1: mom was very scared of animals, so I am kind
- 14:44Speaker 1: of afraid of birds, and like, I didn't grow up
- 14:47Speaker 1: in that environment, so I'm like deathly afraid of birds.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Just FYI, that's it's the scariest thing. And I can
- 14:53Speaker 1: ever imagine just like having a pigeon near me, I
- 14:57Speaker 1: would scream.
- 15:00Speaker 2: The feathers. Yeah, you tried to kill me the other
- 15:03Speaker 2: night because I put a feather on you.
- 15:05Speaker 1: So then I say, well, interesting, not so interesting story.
- 15:10Speaker 1: But I'm actually getting divorced and moving on with my life.
- 15:16Speaker 1: And it was a very weird and interesting time for
- 15:20Speaker 1: me because it's like I did it and there was
- 15:23Speaker 1: just so many unknowns about my future and I was
- 15:26Speaker 1: scared and and I think that was the moment that
- 15:31Speaker 1: we were like, well, if you ever want to go
- 15:34Speaker 1: on a date, I think we should. We like, why
- 15:36Speaker 1: don't we try going out on your date?
- 15:38Speaker 2: The moment was an expression and it was really interesting.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I've never told you this, but like, as you were
- 15:45Speaker 2: mentioning that to me, I'm like looking at you by normal,
- 15:50Speaker 2: but I'm looking in your eyes and then all of
- 15:51Speaker 2: a sudden, I just like see a different potential for us.
- 15:57Speaker 2: I honestly still remember looking at your face as you're
- 16:01Speaker 2: telling me that you're separated and that you divorce, and
- 16:08Speaker 2: so I'm kind of seeing you in like a different light.
- 16:11Speaker 2: And I was like, Oh, do you ever want to
- 16:13Speaker 2: go in a date?
- 16:15Speaker 1: And when you asked that, I was like, okay, Like
- 16:18Speaker 1: why not, let's do it like I had. I had
- 16:21Speaker 1: gone on in a couple of dates and they were awful,
- 16:25Speaker 1: like terrible and wanted to get out of there as
- 16:28Speaker 1: soon as possible. And I was just like, I think
- 16:31Speaker 1: that's honestly they say that and it's like very cheesy
- 16:34Speaker 1: in movies, but it's like knowing somebody who's your friend
- 16:39Speaker 1: first makes such a difference because it's just way more
- 16:42Speaker 1: comfortable and easy.
- 16:44Speaker 2: I was really excited, like really excited.
- 16:49Speaker 1: It was an interesting time for me because I was
- 16:53Speaker 1: still living in the house, in the Marmont House. Yeah,
- 17:01Speaker 1: there was just so many unknowns. I had asked Jessie
- 17:04Speaker 1: to leave, and he was just like, I'm not leaving
- 17:07Speaker 1: this house, but you can sleep downstairs. And so there
- 17:09Speaker 1: was a whole separate downstairs area bathroom, and so I
- 17:13Speaker 1: started sleeping downstairs while Jesse was in our primary bedroom
- 17:18Speaker 1: we have to now call it that in real estate,
- 17:21Speaker 1: but the master bedroom. He stayed there and I stayed downstairs,
- 17:25Speaker 1: and you know, I was very firm. It was just like,
- 17:28Speaker 1: I want to ask for a divorce. We're not together,
- 17:31Speaker 1: let's split at financials. We weren't speaking at the time,
- 17:35Speaker 1: and it was very uncomfortable, like imagine having to share
- 17:39Speaker 1: the living room space or kitchen or just like run
- 17:42Speaker 1: into each other. And so I was just like I
- 17:44Speaker 1: kept asking him to please leave, please leave. You know,
- 17:48Speaker 1: most men leave in this situation, and he was just
- 17:51Speaker 1: very adamant, like I'm comfortable. This is my house. He
- 17:56Speaker 1: is very entitled, and he was like, I'm not leaving
- 17:59Speaker 1: this house. So if you want to go, you go,
- 18:01Speaker 1: but you still have to pay me half the rent.
- 18:05Speaker 1: And so I didn't know what to do because I'm like, okay,
- 18:08Speaker 1: he's making me liable to pay half the rent and
- 18:11Speaker 1: then I have to find a place and what's going
- 18:13Speaker 1: to happen with the furniture. So I was just kind
- 18:16Speaker 1: of like dealing with it a day at a time.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Mind you at face Like I'm taking this at face
- 18:23Speaker 2: value too, So I mean, for me, it took an
- 18:30Speaker 2: incredible amount of love and trust that that you are
- 18:38Speaker 2: living in in this first time.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, I'm a great question what is that like
- 18:44Speaker 1: for you as a man. So it's like, I'm newly
- 18:47Speaker 1: getting separated, I have a daughter. How do you feel
- 18:51Speaker 1: about going on a date with somebody who has what
- 18:56Speaker 1: you want to call it, a lot of baggage?
- 18:58Speaker 2: And you know, first off, I knew you are an
- 19:03Speaker 2: incredible mother, and like there was there has been times
- 19:07Speaker 2: where I think about that and it gets me emotional,
- 19:11Speaker 2: like I have fallen in love with somebody who's an
- 19:14Speaker 2: amazing mother and I want to have kids in the future,
- 19:18Speaker 2: and it just makes me just, yeah, love you that
- 19:25Speaker 2: much more. And I see how good you are with
- 19:29Speaker 2: Isabella and how much attention you give her, and you
- 19:32Speaker 2: have this like philosophy like I don't want her to
- 19:34Speaker 2: be on the iPhone. I don't want her to be
- 19:36Speaker 2: on an iPad, Like you spend really really good quality
- 19:40Speaker 2: time with her. You also don't give her sweets like
- 19:43Speaker 2: you give her eats, real good, high quality food, and
- 19:47Speaker 2: like all these things, like even though that was not
- 19:51Speaker 2: part of what I thought was my story too, you know,
- 19:57Speaker 2: to get into a relationship with somebody who's already has
- 20:02Speaker 2: a kid and and who is splitting and in the
- 20:07Speaker 2: middle of kind of a nasty di worse, that was
- 20:10Speaker 2: not what I thought I was was my destiny. Like
- 20:17Speaker 2: the more I, uh, the more I fell in love
- 20:22Speaker 2: with you, it it just it wasn't And seeing you
- 20:26Speaker 2: know that my stepdad he was you know, my stepdad
- 20:29Speaker 2: wanted kids, and my mom she was she tied her
- 20:32Speaker 2: tubes that after me and she didn't have any more kids.
- 20:35Speaker 2: So I had heard my stepdad talk about how he
- 20:38Speaker 2: had fallen in love in love with my mom and
- 20:40Speaker 2: that he had to accept that he wasn't going to
- 20:43Speaker 2: have kids of his own. But you know, my mom
- 20:46Speaker 2: was worth it, and so I saw you as as
- 20:51Speaker 2: worth it, and so.
- 20:55Speaker 1: I could cry right now. I was like, oh, that's
- 20:59Speaker 1: so sweet.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that was that was a big deal.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Because I was very nervous about that. I was like,
- 21:05Speaker 1: oh my god, Like I wasn't worried about my age.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I was just worried, like what does that mean in
- 21:11Speaker 1: the dating world, Like I now have a child. Like
- 21:15Speaker 1: when I was in my twenties, I remember thinking, like,
- 21:18Speaker 1: I'm not going to date a guy who had been
- 21:20Speaker 1: married or have kids, Like that was just my mindset
- 21:23Speaker 1: back then. And so now I'm like, Okay, now I'm
- 21:26Speaker 1: in my mid thirties and I'm getting a divorce and
- 21:29Speaker 1: I have a daughter, Like is it going to be
- 21:31Speaker 1: that much harder, especially in LA when it's already hard
- 21:34Speaker 1: to date in general? Like am I going to find
- 21:37Speaker 1: love again? Because I didn't want to, Like I didn't
- 21:41Speaker 1: want to be single. I didn't want to date a
- 21:42Speaker 1: bunch of guys, Like that's not who I am, Like
- 21:45Speaker 1: I want to be with one person, and I do.
- 21:48Speaker 1: But I still believe in marriage, even after everything that's
- 21:52Speaker 1: happened to me, Like I believe that there is such
- 21:56Speaker 1: thing as being in love and being married till you die.
- 22:02Speaker 2: And I wanted you and I fell in love with you.
- 22:05Speaker 1: So I feel like we dived a little bit into
- 22:08Speaker 1: the beginning of our relationship. But there's so much because
- 22:11Speaker 1: it was so unique. I mean, I had filmed a show,
- 22:15Speaker 1: but the show hadn't come out yet, and then we
- 22:17Speaker 1: started dating, and I'm like, quietly, you know, I had
- 22:22Speaker 1: asked for a divorce, but we didn't. You know, when
- 22:24Speaker 1: you're getting divorced, it's very tricky, and it's like we
- 22:27Speaker 1: don't know is there when is the time to tell
- 22:29Speaker 1: your friends? And so like there was a very period.
- 22:33Speaker 1: There was a period of time where it was like
- 22:36Speaker 1: we were Jesse was seeing somebody else or seeing other people,
- 22:39Speaker 1: and I was dating. We both agreed it was just
- 22:42Speaker 1: like we were done, but we hadn't told our friends
- 22:46Speaker 1: and people from the valley didn't know. But we continued
- 22:49Speaker 1: living our life and so having to be in that
- 22:54Speaker 1: weird what do you call it? Yeah, so it's a
- 23:00Speaker 1: weird period of time where it's like we're not together,
- 23:02Speaker 1: but nobody quite knows. And then we're living our lives.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I'm dating a girl that lives with their ex husband.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Totally normal, technically still living with my ex.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Like I wasn't wrestling with that at all.
- 23:14Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, trust me, I was trying to move out,
- 23:18Speaker 1: but he didn't make anything easy whatsoever. And I was
- 23:22Speaker 1: just like, okay, so I'm going to have to pay
- 23:24Speaker 1: half of this place and half of the place where
- 23:26Speaker 1: I move in a deposit and he wasn't going to
- 23:28Speaker 1: take let me take any furniture. So just like that
- 23:31Speaker 1: that dynamic.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Surprisingly, like we got through that without arguing, Like we
- 23:38Speaker 2: didn't argue, and we were so good together, and like
- 23:44Speaker 2: we got through that whole situation, got you into a
- 23:47Speaker 2: new apartment that was.
- 23:48Speaker 1: So wild, and then I want to continue on because
- 23:52Speaker 1: we can really like there's so much to say, but
- 23:55Speaker 1: it's like we watched season one together the very first
- 23:59Speaker 1: time I had ever seen any of the episodes. You
- 24:02Speaker 1: and I were holding hands and we would.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Watch it and I loved it. Watch watching my girlfriend's
- 24:11Speaker 2: ex marriage untangled was a great new experience for me.
- 24:16Speaker 2: So let's let's dive in more next time.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Yeah, let's do it next week
