Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: On verb on news radio, five 70 WKBN. All right.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Patient callers. You're on the air.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Hello. Oh, hi, Ron. It's not Marianne.
- 0:17Speaker 2: No, pretty good. Actually, not a bad, like a blast
- 0:22Speaker 2: from the past.
- 0:24Speaker 3: I know. Right.
- 0:25Speaker 4: Hey, I was, Thinking about the past, not yesterday, but
- 0:30Speaker 4: the Thursday prior, you had a woman call in. She
- 0:34Speaker 4: was college-educated, and she was just going off. I don't
- 0:40Speaker 4: know if you recall or not.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yes, I do.
- 0:43Speaker 4: And when you asked her if she was married, I
- 0:47Speaker 4: just busted up laughing because, like, who's going to marry
- 0:51Speaker 4: something like that?
- 0:54Speaker 5: She was something else.
- 0:58Speaker 4: She was going off, I'll tell you.
- 1:01Speaker 6: Hey, Sherrod Brown, though, right?
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:06Speaker 4: He's the only one worried about the Swable people. He's
- 1:09Speaker 4: running for something. Now he's getting photo ops with the
- 1:14Speaker 4: people from Swable. I don't know if you saw it
- 1:16Speaker 4: on the news.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Well, naturally.
- 1:17Speaker 5: He's there acting like he gives a damn about it
- 1:21Speaker 5: because he's looking for votes. And let me tell you,
- 1:24Speaker 5: when he's done, he goes home and he forgets.
- 1:26Speaker 2: All about it.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
- 1:32Speaker 4: You guys were talking about the library the last couple
- 1:34Speaker 4: of days, and they're talking about replacing it. What, are
- 1:41Speaker 4: they going to build it further up on 170?
- 1:43Speaker 5: Yeah, they've got a different location, and they're going to
- 1:48Speaker 5: want to build a new building, which would be nearly
- 1:49Speaker 5: as spectacular and would cost... Instead of fixing what you have,
- 1:55Speaker 5: fixing the building that you have, which is spectacular, and
- 1:59Speaker 5: putting the money in that, their philosophy is, well, it's
- 2:04Speaker 5: 25 years old. Let's go build a new one. I mean,
- 2:07Speaker 5: with their philosophy, who would stay in their house? I mean,
- 2:10Speaker 5: it's just the most strangest damn philosophy and so arrogant
- 2:15Speaker 5: to the people of that community and, quite frankly, the
- 2:17Speaker 5: rest of us.
- 2:19Speaker 4: If they say it's going to be like $ 10 million
- 2:21Speaker 4: to build a new one, you know it's going to
- 2:22Speaker 4: be $ 20 million by the time it's done.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 2:25Speaker 4: That's a consideration. But I don't know if it was
- 2:29Speaker 4: Rich or Ted said that he was just by the library.
- 2:34Speaker 7: And then, like, I heard him on the radio.
- 2:36Speaker 4: And then, like, the next day I was like, I'm
- 2:38Speaker 4: going past the library and I'm looking at it. And
- 2:40Speaker 4: I'm like, yeah, it's not maintained. It's just from the
- 2:43Speaker 4: street you can see it.
- 2:45Speaker 7: Right.
- 2:46Speaker 5: And like anything, you have to do maintenance over that
- 2:48Speaker 5: period of time. And obviously, you have not done it.
- 2:52Speaker 5: And now you want to say, well, the maintenance is overwhelming. Well,
- 2:55Speaker 5: because you haven't done it. But that doesn't mean you
- 2:57Speaker 5: abandoned a beautiful facility that's one of the gems of
- 3:01Speaker 5: that community or, frankly, Mahoning County.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Right.
- 3:07Speaker 4: You were talking about guest hosts.
- 3:09Speaker 3: The guy you had the.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Not the contractor, the– the guy that designs the buildings,
- 3:18Speaker 4: the engineer, whatever.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Architect.
- 3:21Speaker 6: Architect, yeah.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, that was a good guest host. I
- 3:25Speaker 4: enjoyed that program. And, I mean, you just learn so
- 3:28Speaker 4: much about what's behind the scenes, you know, more than
- 3:34Speaker 4: you hear on the regular news. You know, they just
- 3:36Speaker 4: do like a three-minute blip on the library, you know,
- 3:39Speaker 4: on the news, but you don't get all the, inside
- 3:43Speaker 4: info like you do.
- 3:44Speaker 3: On your show.
- 3:45Speaker 5: Many of his critics, though, were not around when it
- 3:48Speaker 5: was being built. Many of these paid hired guns to
- 3:54Speaker 5: try to discredit the guy were never around when this
- 3:58Speaker 5: was being built.
- 3:59Speaker 2: They're not architects. They're not contractors. They weren't there when
- 4:03Speaker 2: it's being built.
- 4:04Speaker 5: So really they're just spewing stuff out to try to
- 4:07Speaker 5: justify the narrative that's out there. Like you, like the guy,
- 4:11Speaker 5: like he said, it's built on bedrock. They tell you where,
- 4:14Speaker 5: all the gravel came from how it was certified he
- 4:16Speaker 5: can tell you the engineer was as far as the
- 4:19Speaker 5: footings are concerned and he can tell you everything about
- 4:22Speaker 5: when it was built all these people that are critical
- 4:24Speaker 5: of it none of them were there when this was
- 4:25Speaker 5: going on and none of them have the expertise he
- 4:28Speaker 5: has of not just himself but all the other people
- 4:31Speaker 5: that were involved in this process including a woman who's
- 4:34Speaker 5: in charge of library who's not even from our area.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Well, just the fact that he said that you could
- 4:41Speaker 4: enlarge the creek out back and make it like a
- 4:44Speaker 4: pond that would... It'd be like a retention pond, basically,
- 4:48Speaker 4: when the water got too high and would make the
- 4:50Speaker 4: flow go better.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Right.
- 4:52Speaker 4: You know, just like that, that didn't get, you know,
- 4:56Speaker 4: put in the play there.
- 4:58Speaker 3: But..
- 4:59Speaker 5: I mean, it really deeply disturbs me when people say,
- 5:05Speaker 5: you know, the architect of the deeply flawed building. I mean,
- 5:10Speaker 5: I just think that somebody who writes something like that
- 5:13Speaker 5: is a total ass. And I just think you have
- 5:16Speaker 5: no understanding of this man, his character, and his knowledge.
- 5:21Speaker 5: And it's like, okay, so that's what you're paid for.
- 5:27Speaker 5: But you don't know what you're doing.
- 5:30Speaker 2: In my opinion.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Ronnie, you know, you were talking about the regular callers
- 5:35Speaker 4: with that woman.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:37Speaker 4: She said, you know, cut them short. I was on
- 5:40Speaker 4: hold the whole time that woman was blathering on, but
- 5:43Speaker 4: she was a very interesting caller.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 5:48Speaker 4: I encourage her to call again.
- 5:49Speaker 2: So do I.
- 5:51Speaker 4: I'm like an irregular caller. I never know when I
- 5:53Speaker 4: got to go, but I got to go.
- 5:56Speaker 2: There he is. He's very irregular. He calls, he waits,
- 5:59Speaker 2: and he's always got to go. You're on the air.
- 6:02Speaker 6: Mr. Burb, how are you?
- 6:04Speaker 2: I'm doing well.
- 6:06Speaker 6: Good for you. Good for you. Listen, in addition to
- 6:10Speaker 6: what the... Blathering woman had to say that your other
- 6:14Speaker 6: caller just called her.
- 6:15Speaker 2: He was just kidding. He was just making a joke.
- 6:18Speaker 6: Well, I don't get kidding in that voice.
- 6:22Speaker 8: I did.
- 6:23Speaker 2: He's a comedian. You get it.
- 6:25Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're all comedians. Anyway, I agree with
- 6:28Speaker 6: her a lot. Now, you had a four-hour program that
- 6:34Speaker 6: was really, if you... if you put all the minutes together,
- 6:40Speaker 6: it was probably three hours.
- 6:44Speaker 5: Probably.
- 6:45Speaker 6: Because of all the ads and the off-the-air. So I'd
- 6:49Speaker 6: say you had at least an hour to sit in
- 6:51Speaker 6: that chair and go to sleep, if you follow what
- 6:54Speaker 6: I'm saying. But if not all in a row, I know.
- 6:58Speaker 6: I know they're not all in a row. Now that
- 6:59Speaker 6: you have a three-hour show.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Guess what?
- 7:02Speaker 6: You're going to have... Two hours on you. And then
- 7:06Speaker 6: you have some callers that take up a lot of airtime.
- 7:12Speaker 6: A lot of airtime. And I'm not going to get
- 7:14Speaker 6: into names. So then, I mean, I hate to say this.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Go ahead, say it. It's not going to hurt my feelings.
- 7:24Speaker 6: I'm ready. No, I'm not trying to do that. I'm
- 7:27Speaker 6: not trying to do that.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Go ahead, say it. Spit it out.
- 7:30Speaker 6: I'm just trying. I think I'm thinking logically here. So
- 7:34Speaker 6: what in the heck do you do for that huge
- 7:40Speaker 6: amount of money that you're getting and spending this 41 years?
- 7:46Speaker 6: I mean, come on. Let's cut that in half. Maybe
- 7:49Speaker 6: 20 years because of it.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Anyway.
- 7:52Speaker 2: What am I doing with this?
- 7:54Speaker 6: I'm just trying to say that the on-air time is
- 8:00Speaker 6: not four hours. It's three hours. And it's not going
- 8:02Speaker 6: to be three hours anyway. You've got to do what
- 8:06Speaker 6: you've got to do.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Okay, I understand.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I get it. Now I'm starting to feel guilty.
- 8:11Speaker 6: Oh, I'm not trying to make you feel guilty.
- 8:14Speaker 2: No, you're making me feel guilty.
- 8:15Speaker 5: You're genuinely making me feel guilty.
- 8:18Speaker 7: No, I'm not.
- 8:20Speaker 5: You're trying to get under my skin, and that's not
- 8:24Speaker 5: very nice.
- 8:30Speaker 6: I would like to spend... If you noticed, I'm sure
- 8:33Speaker 6: you did when I called you on the phone, it
- 8:35Speaker 6: was usually 6 o'clock and beyond.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Yes.
- 8:38Speaker 6: Because I was down in my little..
- 8:41Speaker 2: You were busy.
- 8:43Speaker 6: Making dinner and telling you what I..
- 8:45Speaker 3: But..
- 8:48Speaker 6: Now that's going to go to 3, you're going to
- 8:49Speaker 6: be off the air at 6 o'clock, plus all of
- 8:52Speaker 6: the other John Arnolds and the Beatrices and everything else.
- 8:58Speaker 6: I think the woman said she was on this phone
- 9:00Speaker 6: for an hour, just waiting to get on the phone
- 9:03Speaker 6: to talk. And I have a lot to say, but
- 9:07Speaker 6: I can't do it anymore because... between the hours of
- 9:10Speaker 6: 3 and 6, even though I'm retired, there's a lot
- 9:15Speaker 6: going on.
- 9:15Speaker 5: What could possibly be going on? You're retired between.
- 9:19Speaker 3: 3 and 6.
- 9:20Speaker 6: Trust me. I don't sit around. I do not sit around.
- 9:24Speaker 6: There's a lot going on, and I just don't have
- 9:28Speaker 6: the time to sit and wait for that hour to
- 9:32Speaker 6: get on the air for 5 or 10 minutes.
- 9:35Speaker 3: I just... I'm sorry.
- 9:37Speaker 6: I mean, I know you're.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Saying, well, I'm sorry. What are we breaking up?
- 9:44Speaker 6: That might be the situation. We might be breaking up.
- 9:48Speaker 2: No, no, don't leave me. No, you can't leave me.
- 9:52Speaker 2: You can't break up.
- 9:54Speaker 6: Just before you come, I mean, not before, but when
- 9:57Speaker 6: you come on air, you just don't come on the air.
- 10:00Speaker 6: and present. You do research. You read. You go on
- 10:05Speaker 6: the computer, you write things. It's more than just talking,
- 10:09Speaker 6: and I know that on the air. Well, guess what?
- 10:12Speaker 6: I do the same thing. I've got volumes of stuff
- 10:14Speaker 6: over here that I would really like to talk about.
- 10:18Speaker 6: And 95% of it is opposite of what you believe.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Well, there's the problem.
- 10:28Speaker 6: I'm listening.
- 10:29Speaker 5: I mean, it's opposite of what I believe. So how
- 10:33Speaker 5: accurate could it possibly be?
- 10:35Speaker 6: Yeah, I get it.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I get it.
- 10:38Speaker 6: And you're the master of the microphone there. You can
- 10:41Speaker 6: cut me off any time. And that brings me to
- 10:44Speaker 6: another thing. You should have. I wish you had more callers.
- 10:48Speaker 6: I really do. I wish you had not the same
- 10:51Speaker 6: ones in that. So, I mean, you're the one that
- 10:58Speaker 6: can push that button to get them off the air,
- 11:01Speaker 6: or you keep them on the air, whatever you want
- 11:03Speaker 6: to do.
- 11:03Speaker 5: See, I keep you on because there's something about you.
- 11:07Speaker 5: There's something about you I find intriguing. I mean, it's
- 11:11Speaker 5: your voice.
- 11:12Speaker 6: We might have to break up here.
- 11:15Speaker 2: No, I refuse to let you break up.
- 11:18Speaker 5: If you start saying it's not you, it's me, if
- 11:22Speaker 5: you start doing that to me, I'm going to start
- 11:23Speaker 5: to cry.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I mean, I'm going to weep like a baby. You
- 11:28Speaker 2: can't break up.
- 11:30Speaker 5: I tell you what, you just call in when we
- 11:32Speaker 5: start at 3 o'clock, and you're not shucking potatoes or
- 11:36Speaker 5: anything like that at that time, and we'll be able
- 11:39Speaker 5: to carry on a discussion. Listen, you know as well
- 11:43Speaker 5: as I do, Because you attended the No Kings rally that,
- 11:48Speaker 5: you know, I think you're like a knucklehead.
- 11:51Speaker 6: I can't wait for the next one.
- 11:52Speaker 5: And as I said, I am going to send a
- 11:55Speaker 5: boss lady down undercover in disguise looking for you at
- 11:59Speaker 5: the No Kings rally. She's going to pull up Screech
- 12:03Speaker 5: Attires in a van and then shove you in a
- 12:06Speaker 5: van and bring you to my studio where I'll try
- 12:08Speaker 5: to deprogram you.
- 12:10Speaker 2: I might have to.
- 12:11Speaker 5: Waterboard you like a CIA agent to get some sense
- 12:15Speaker 5: into you to say– What are you doing at the
- 12:18Speaker 5: No Kings rally? You know, I go to the promotion closet.
- 12:23Speaker 5: I get the cannon out of there that can fire
- 12:25Speaker 5: this giant net to put around some of you lunatics
- 12:29Speaker 5: down there at the No Kings rally and try to
- 12:31Speaker 5: get you the shock therapy that you need.
- 12:36Speaker 6: Well, there is no amount of... netting, there's no amount
- 12:44Speaker 6: of waterboarding that is going to change my mind with
- 12:48Speaker 6: this present administration. If there is... You would have to
- 12:55Speaker 6: eliminate me from the face of this earth.
- 12:58Speaker 5: Well, listen, you hear me that I totally disagree with
- 13:03Speaker 5: this war situation and what he got us involved in.
- 13:06Speaker 6: And I appreciate that.
- 13:09Speaker 2: And the mess he's created. So I want you.
- 13:10Speaker 6: Months ago, this guy, it should have never happened in
- 13:14Speaker 6: the first place.
- 13:15Speaker 7: Never.
- 13:16Speaker 5: Why do you dislike Trump so much outside of the war?
- 13:21Speaker 6: Trump is a master manipulator. He's manipulating the market. Now
- 13:26Speaker 6: he's got the tariffs coming back, what he wasn't supposed to.
- 13:30Speaker 6: Do you know what that's going to do? That's just
- 13:32Speaker 6: going to raise your prices again. You think you're paying
- 13:35Speaker 6: a lot for stuff now? Guess what? He just put
- 13:39Speaker 6: a whole world again. He put tariffs on whatever. So
- 13:44Speaker 6: why do I dislike this guy? He is a he's
- 13:46Speaker 6: a thief. This guy is a grifter thief. His companies
- 13:52Speaker 6: and his family are making billions of dollars. You keep
- 13:57Speaker 6: saying about how this country is going broke. It is broke.
- 14:03Speaker 6: He is part of that problem. The person, the situation
- 14:08Speaker 6: right now, the national, the most horrendous, the national security
- 14:14Speaker 6: of this country is under jeopardy because of Donald J. Trump.
- 14:21Speaker 6: I cannot stand a guy. I wouldn't be able to
- 14:24Speaker 6: stand a guy if he wasn't president, if I just
- 14:27Speaker 6: happened to know him as a fellow human being that
- 14:31Speaker 6: I happened to run into. I don't like his personality
- 14:35Speaker 6: to me. I can't stand it.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Have you ever voted for someone who wasn't a Democrat?
- 14:44Speaker 6: Say that again?
- 14:45Speaker 2: Have you ever voted for a Republican?
- 14:47Speaker 6: Yes, I have.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Well, that's surprising. Really?
- 14:52Speaker 5: I told you that before.
- 14:54Speaker 3: I voted for Mr.
- 14:55Speaker 6: Bush. The first Mr. Bush.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Did you vote for Reagan?
- 14:59Speaker 3: No.
- 15:00Speaker 6: I voted for Bush. Now, Bush was a president. He
- 15:05Speaker 6: was a president. He was in the military. He was
- 15:09Speaker 6: in the CIA. He was involved in government in a
- 15:13Speaker 6: way that, I mean, he just was made for that position,
- 15:16Speaker 6: in my opinion. And that's why I voted for him.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Okay.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 15:24Speaker 5: I would like you to reconsider. I would want you
- 15:27Speaker 5: to call 3 o'clock, and I don't think.
- 15:31Speaker 2: We should break up.
- 15:32Speaker 6: I'm not trying to be.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I don't want to break up, though. I'm not accepting
- 15:39Speaker 2: you're breaking up with me.
- 15:41Speaker 6: All right, well, I'll give it some thought. I'll try
- 15:45Speaker 6: to work things, but there's things that don't. You'll see.
- 15:48Speaker 6: You'll have things to do when you return. You'll see.
- 15:50Speaker 6: You'll have things to do. You won't be with 41
- 15:54Speaker 6: years of doing what you're doing.
- 15:57Speaker 2: All right, I got to go. You're on the air.
- 16:08Speaker 9: Ron, it took me almost everything I had when you
- 16:12Speaker 9: were talking to Fifth Avenue.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Yes.
- 16:15Speaker 9: When he hung up, I wanted the first thing to say,
- 16:19Speaker 9: it's not you, it's me.
- 16:20Speaker 2: I know, but I wouldn't let him say that. You
- 16:23Speaker 2: stole it from me.
- 16:24Speaker 5: I was waiting for him to say that to me
- 16:26Speaker 5: as he was trying to break up with me. Oh,
- 16:27Speaker 5: it's not you, it's me.
- 16:28Speaker 2: No, no.
- 16:29Speaker 5: I'm not going to accept that. I'm not going to
- 16:31Speaker 5: accept his... I'm intrigued by the guy. I like the guy.
- 16:40Speaker 9: Well, you make me laugh, and you know I'm a fan.
- 16:45Speaker 9: I do kind of agree a little bit with the
- 16:47Speaker 9: woman that called. You know, there's some days where I just,
- 16:50Speaker 9: I'm like, you know, it's your show, so it happened,
- 16:52Speaker 9: but it's also my life, so I just say, I
- 16:56Speaker 9: just turn you off.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Well, that really hurts my feelings.
- 16:59Speaker 3: I know.
- 17:00Speaker 9: That's why I'm telling you. I don't turn you off
- 17:01Speaker 9: every day, but there's some days where you just go
- 17:03Speaker 9: on with the same person.
- 17:04Speaker 5: Now you're piling on with the Fifth Avenue guy. Because
- 17:08Speaker 5: I love you. Well, see, you're still in love. That's
- 17:12Speaker 5: all that matters.
- 17:14Speaker 9: I love you. Yeah, I don't want to break up.
- 17:15Speaker 5: You know, you're the guru of Gerard. You're now the professor.
- 17:18Speaker 5: Now you think you're better than the rest of us.
- 17:20Speaker 5: Now you want nothing.
- 17:21Speaker 2: To do with us.
- 17:22Speaker 3: You know what I'm doing, Ron? You know what I'm doing.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Now you don't want anything to do with the rest
- 17:26Speaker 2: of us.
- 17:26Speaker 5: Now you want to run in those elite circles of
- 17:29Speaker 5: those college people.
- 17:33Speaker 9: I'm chipping off mortar on bricks on a driveway that
- 17:38Speaker 9: was built in 1970.
- 17:40Speaker 2: We'll get back to painting the garage.
- 17:43Speaker 9: Well, that's coming, but it was too hot. You can't
- 17:45Speaker 9: really paint when it's that hot. So I went down
- 17:47Speaker 9: to the oak tree and I started power washing. And
- 17:51Speaker 9: that driveway is looking awesome. You know, I mean, you
- 17:55Speaker 9: asked about the economy. That's what I do when it's
- 17:57Speaker 9: like this. I did this last time.
- 17:58Speaker 7: It was horrible.
- 17:59Speaker 9: I remember when Obama was first in. I just do
- 18:03Speaker 9: stuff around the house. It doesn't cost anything, and I hope.
- 18:06Speaker 9: that enough money comes in to cover my bills because
- 18:08Speaker 9: I'm not spending anything. That's my mode of operation.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Then don't go in debt. Don't go in debt.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Right.
- 18:14Speaker 5: That's what I mean.
- 18:15Speaker 9: It's like I don't need it if I'm not spending it, right?
- 18:18Speaker 5: Right.
- 18:18Speaker 9: So I just try to limit everything I can. My
- 18:20Speaker 9: wife goes, why don't you just get a new driveway?
- 18:22Speaker 9: You're out there like all day doing that. I was like, okay,
- 18:25Speaker 9: if you give me $ 10, 000, I'll have it. I'll come
- 18:27Speaker 9: and I'll have them for a whole big slab of company.
- 18:30Speaker 2: What is your driveway all cracked up and not even?
- 18:33Speaker 9: Oh, It's actually beautiful now. I mean, it's a brick
- 18:37Speaker 9: driveway that doubles long. Oh, okay. But it had cracks
- 18:41Speaker 9: in it, cracked bricks. Well, the guy who built it
- 18:44Speaker 9: years ago, he left all these bricks in the backyard
- 18:47Speaker 9: that I never got rid of. I just kind of, like,
- 18:48Speaker 9: found a place to put them and stuff. So I
- 18:50Speaker 9: can replace this whole thing. With just labor and with, like,
- 18:55Speaker 9: almost brand-new-looking bricks for basically free.
- 18:58Speaker 5: And I bet you that driveway's beautiful as opposed to
- 19:03Speaker 5: a concrete driveway. I mean, there's nothing more beautiful than
- 19:06Speaker 5: a brick road. I mean, look how long those brick
- 19:11Speaker 5: roads lasted. When I came here, South Avenue was still
- 19:13Speaker 5: a brick road, and you had some dips in it
- 19:16Speaker 5: and that kind of stuff, but that thing lasted forever.
- 19:18Speaker 5: Now it's paved over. They paved over the bricks. Now
- 19:21Speaker 5: you've got potholes and everything.
- 19:24Speaker 2: I'm with you. I'm with you.
- 19:26Speaker 5: You tell your wife. that you're going to keep the
- 19:29Speaker 5: brick driveway because that looks spectacular. Don't ever do away
- 19:32Speaker 5: with it.
- 19:32Speaker 9: Oh, we're committed now, man. You should see. But I
- 19:35Speaker 9: relate this conversation and this effort into your library talk, too.
- 19:38Speaker 9: I was thinking about it as it was like, yeah,
- 19:40Speaker 9: I could throw away all these bricks and get some
- 19:44Speaker 9: concrete that would crack in a year.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:47Speaker 9: And pay $ 10, 000 to do it or go. the old way,
- 19:50Speaker 9: because this really is. It's like labor intensive. If you
- 19:53Speaker 9: didn't live here, you couldn't afford to have it done.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Right.
- 19:56Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying?
- 19:57Speaker 5: Right.
- 19:57Speaker 9: I got here anyway.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Right.
- 20:00Speaker 9: But maintenance will end up in the end. I'll have
- 20:05Speaker 9: a lot more for a lot less money, and it's
- 20:07Speaker 9: going to look really great.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Right, exactly. And you'll take pride in it.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:14Speaker 9: I just called to tell you happy, you know, I
- 20:16Speaker 9: hope you have a nice weekend and everything. And I just,
- 20:19Speaker 9: you know, enjoyed your show and all that. But then
- 20:21Speaker 9: I was listening to your callers on the hour I
- 20:22Speaker 9: was on hold.
- 20:25Speaker 3: You know what?
- 20:27Speaker 2: You just like the cheap shot, don't you?
- 20:29Speaker 3: I mean, really.
- 20:30Speaker 10: Oh, yeah.
- 20:30Speaker 5: Really.
- 20:32Speaker 9: Couldn't you just feel that going inside you?
- 20:34Speaker 3: Yes. Yes, I can.
- 20:36Speaker 5: Yes, I 100% can. I said, you know, I said,
- 20:39Speaker 5: if anybody would... To have sympathy would be Michael, the
- 20:43Speaker 5: guru of Gerard, the professor. But now he's just as
- 20:48Speaker 5: vicious as anybody.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Vicious, vicious, vicious.
- 20:50Speaker 9: Hey, I call, but I don't call that often. I
- 20:52Speaker 9: don't call every day. I used to call a lot
- 20:54Speaker 9: back when I was like a captive audience on the highway.
- 20:56Speaker 9: That's how we met.
- 20:57Speaker 2: But you used to be a lot smarter then.
- 21:00Speaker 9: Yeah, that's true. That part is true.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Oh, hey, listen.
- 21:06Speaker 5: You're a sharp guy when it comes to war, and
- 21:08Speaker 5: you're a sharp guy when it comes to AI and
- 21:11Speaker 5: all that kind of stuff.
- 21:12Speaker 2: You know it.
- 21:12Speaker 5: But fix the bricks. I mean, I'm glad you're doing something.
- 21:15Speaker 5: And take your wife out to eat tonight.
- 21:16Speaker 6: All right?
- 21:18Speaker 9: She already made some chili and stuff. We might probably
- 21:21Speaker 9: go out tomorrow. I mean, we'll go up the harbor
- 21:23Speaker 9: or something.
- 21:23Speaker 2: I think I'm going to take my wife over to
- 21:25Speaker 2: Fifth Avenue's house and make them cook something. I'll see
- 21:29Speaker 2: you later.
- 21:30Speaker 3: All right, man.
- 21:30Speaker 7: See you later.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Thank you. Back in a minute. NewsRadio 570.
- 21:32Speaker 7: WKBN.
- 21:52Speaker 1: The deal we reached with Iran.
- 21:54Speaker 3: The devil's in the details. Bringing the price of gasoline down.
- 21:56Speaker 9: Maintain the Fed funds rate.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Tying Pfizer to the save app. NATO has been a
- 22:01Speaker 3: paper tiger for the very latest.
- 22:03Speaker 2: We'll see how that all plays out. News Radio 570 WKBN.
- 22:07Speaker 8: A 36-year-old Canfield man was under indictment over a crash
- 22:14Speaker 8: last year that killed an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper.
- 22:18Speaker 10: Ryan Rack is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide. and vehicular assault.
- 22:23Speaker 10: The wreck killed Trooper Nicholas Caton. The CDC is sending
- 22:28Speaker 10: detectives to Ohio to look into the cyclosporiasis outbreak. The
- 22:33Speaker 10: Ohio Department of Health has requested help from the CDC
- 22:37Speaker 10: in pinpointing the source of the parasites causing rising numbers
- 22:41Speaker 10: of illnesses. The experts are going to be interviewing individuals
- 22:45Speaker 10: who have tested positive for cyclospora over the next three weeks.
- 22:51Speaker 10: Over 2,000 cases of cyclosporiasis have been reported in Ohio

- 23:09Speaker 2: A to Z dependable services.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Now, Ron Verb. On News Radio 570, WKBN. All right,
- 23:17Speaker 1: I've got to move quick. I think I've got G2
- 23:19Speaker 1: on one of my lines.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Hello.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Hey, Ron, Dick from Dayton. What did you think about
- 23:24Speaker 3: the Cavaliers?
- 23:26Speaker 2: Yeah, how come LeBron decided not to return? I don't know.
- 23:31Speaker 3: I wish he would have. It's kind of bad, isn't it?
- 23:33Speaker 2: Yeah, the dream has come to an end for me. Yeah, well, I.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Guess he chose it. I wanted him back there, didn't you?
- 23:40Speaker 7: Yes.
- 23:40Speaker 3: I did.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Yes, I did. Yeah, well, we'll have to just live on,
- 23:44Speaker 2: won't we? It makes it hard.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I thought I'd tell you about it. It's sports-related, right?
- 23:51Speaker 2: You got it. Thank you, Dick, from Dayton. You're on
- 23:53Speaker 2: the air. Moving to G2. Yes, Ted the Conservative.
- 23:58Speaker 7: Boy, oh boy, so much to say, but I don't
- 24:00Speaker 7: think we have enough time. You got G2 coming up.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll say it quickly then.
- 24:05Speaker 7: Okay, well, I'll say the quick stuff first. The last
- 24:08Speaker 7: thing is going to take some time because I disagree
- 24:10Speaker 7: with you on everything I read. An intelligent caller heard
- 24:14Speaker 7: me talk about the library last week and how deplorable
- 24:19Speaker 7: it looks, and then today there's crews out there working
- 24:21Speaker 7: on the exterior of the building, which I thought was interesting.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Very.
- 24:24Speaker 7: We've changed J.J.
- 24:26Speaker 3: How about that, huh?
- 24:27Speaker 2: Yes.
- 24:28Speaker 7: We've changed J.J. 's name to the Trumpster.
- 24:31Speaker 2: J.J. the Trumpster.
- 24:32Speaker 7: And I think J.J. the Trumpster, and I think after
- 24:35Speaker 7: the whining call we just heard from Fifth Avenue, I
- 24:37Speaker 7: think I've got to change his name. He'll be the
- 24:40Speaker 7: new liberal. He can be Frank the Fifth Avenue liberal.
- 24:43Speaker 7: Kind of fitting. You live on Fifth Avenue up there,
- 24:46Speaker 7: you know, uppity up people, you know, living in the
- 24:49Speaker 7: kitchen in the basement. I think Fifth Avenue Frank, Fifth
- 24:53Speaker 7: Avenue the liberal sounds good.
- 24:55Speaker 3: J.J.
- 24:56Speaker 7: And G2, good opportunity. I heard him going off on
- 24:59Speaker 7: G2 all week, especially calling him Vladimir.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Yes.
- 25:03Speaker 7: And I thought, well, he's very pro-Ukrainian. And I believe
- 25:07Speaker 7: Zelensky's first name is something like Voldemir. So maybe one
- 25:12Speaker 7: day you could have Voldemir on and you could have
- 25:15Speaker 7: G2 on. Maybe these guys could settle the war.
- 25:19Speaker 3: What do you think?
- 25:20Speaker 5: So you want to, you mean JJ playing a part
- 25:23Speaker 5: of Voldemir and G2.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Playing a part of... Vladimir. Vladimir. I don't think I
- 25:29Speaker 2: could get the name straight.
- 25:31Speaker 3: How about that?
- 25:32Speaker 7: JJ's been on a roll lately, you know?
- 25:35Speaker 2: He's done some excellent stuff, yeah.
- 25:38Speaker 7: Now, Iran, so you want Trump to wave the white
- 25:41Speaker 7: flag and come home?
- 25:43Speaker 2: I think it's a disaster. I don't see it. In
- 25:46Speaker 2: all seriousness, I don't see a good way out of
- 25:49Speaker 2: this at all. I genuinely don't. You are where your
- 25:51Speaker 2: feet are.
- 25:52Speaker 6: We're at war.
- 25:53Speaker 5: But we will see. I mean, you know, I could
- 25:55Speaker 5: be wrong. It would be the first time. Let's see
- 25:57Speaker 5: what happens. I'm not optimistic.
- 25:58Speaker 7: I'm going to throw two things at you. We'll hear
- 26:00Speaker 7: what G2 has to say. And maybe next week you
- 26:03Speaker 7: and I can discuss it in more detail.
- 26:04Speaker 2: All right.
- 26:05Speaker 7: And I'm not trying to be critical of your thinking,
- 26:09Speaker 7: but I think you're dead wrong. And I'm going to
- 26:10Speaker 7: show two examples that are similar in my opinion.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Wouldn't be the first time.
- 26:14Speaker 7: We agree on most things, but we disagree occasionally. And
- 26:17Speaker 7: I'm going to show two examples why I think you're wrong.
- 26:20Speaker 7: I want to take you back to the days of
- 26:22Speaker 7: Pearl Harbor before Japan bombed us. Our intelligence had very
- 26:26Speaker 7: good reason to believe they were going to attack our
- 26:28Speaker 7: Pacific fleet, but they just didn't want to believe the intelligence.
- 26:33Speaker 7: So at the 12th hour... After the bombing occurred, they
- 26:35Speaker 7: sent a notice to Pearl Harbor and said, hey, be
- 26:38Speaker 7: on alert. Japan's coming. Well, guess what?
- 26:40Speaker 3: It was too late.
- 26:42Speaker 7: Now, let's fast forward to 9-11. We had intelligence telling
- 26:46Speaker 7: us that there was going to be an attack on
- 26:47Speaker 7: the homeland. Okay? Didn't want to believe it, did we?
- 26:51Speaker 3: Again, reactionary.
- 26:52Speaker 7: Because folks like you just didn't want to believe it. Now,
- 26:57Speaker 7: you've got a country in Iran. Let me ask you,
- 26:59Speaker 7: how many Americans have they murdered with their proxy? How
- 27:02Speaker 7: many military people have they murdered? How many civilians have
- 27:05Speaker 7: they murdered?
- 27:06Speaker 3: It's countless.
- 27:06Speaker 7: You can't even answer that question. So we're not supposed
- 27:11Speaker 7: to believe them when they tell us, when they chant,
- 27:14Speaker 7: death to America, death to Israel, we know that they're
- 27:16Speaker 7: building a bomb.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Right?
- 27:20Speaker 7: So do you want to be like we were at
- 27:21Speaker 7: Pearl Harbor? Do you want another Pearl Harbor? Do you
- 27:24Speaker 7: want another 9-11? Or do you want a president who
- 27:27Speaker 7: has the basketballs to make the tough decision.
- 27:33Speaker 3: The guy you.
- 27:34Speaker 5: Voted for, because you fought. I'll let that statement stand,
- 27:39Speaker 5: and we'll carry on a conversation about it. I just
- 27:41Speaker 5: don't agree with it. I don't view him as a
- 27:46Speaker 5: threat like that at all. And I think the ramifications
- 27:50Speaker 5: that are going to be Potential, and it's my speculation,
- 27:55Speaker 5: could be very detrimental to the economy. I think the
- 27:58Speaker 5: economy's in a terrible spot right now. I'll put on G2,
- 28:01Speaker 5: and you call me Monday, and we'll have this discussion,
- 28:04Speaker 5: because I look forward to it.
- 28:05Speaker 7: Okay, I'd like to hear G2' s response to what I
- 28:07Speaker 7: just said, too.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 28:08Speaker 7: I'll call you next week. I'll be in New Jersey,
- 28:10Speaker 7: but I'll call you.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Thank you. You're on the air.
- 28:14Speaker 3: I just want to point out and congratulate Trump on
- 28:18Speaker 3: the fantastic work he's done on the economy.
- 28:21Speaker 2: It's gone great.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Especially inflation. But not just inflation. The price of gasoline.
- 28:29Speaker 3: I mean, you think about this.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Now, what happened here?
- 28:31Speaker 3: J.J.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Has become a Trumpster. Is G2 becoming a liberal? What
- 28:35Speaker 2: the hell's going on?
- 28:37Speaker 3: If you look at inflation right now, taking into account
- 28:40Speaker 3: something like 50 million data points, it's a 2.11%. It's
- 28:44Speaker 3: an astonishing low number, given how much money Congress is spending. Okay, Frank,
- 28:52Speaker 3: and the Fed and all your stuff, the government is
- 28:55Speaker 3: pumping huge amounts of money into the economy, money we
- 28:59Speaker 3: should not be pumping into the economy. And yet inflation
- 29:03Speaker 3: is at 2.11%. That's an incredible achievement. Now, if you
- 29:08Speaker 3: look at gasoline, gasoline is 93 cents below the 2022 peak,
- 29:15Speaker 3: which is incredible given that we have two wars going on.
- 29:19Speaker 3: And this disaster in California. Frank made a point earlier.
- 29:22Speaker 3: I cut some of Frank's call. He made a point
- 29:24Speaker 3: about Southwest shipping jet fuel from the Gulf Coast over
- 29:29Speaker 3: through the Panama Canal to California. Now, why is the question? Because,
- 29:36Speaker 3: of course, you could just assume it's the hormones straight
- 29:38Speaker 3: being closed. But, of course, that would ignore the destruction
- 29:42Speaker 3: of all the refining capacity in California that's been destroyed.
- 29:46Speaker 3: And they're continuing to shut down. They're down to just
- 29:48Speaker 3: a handful of refineries, and they're shutting those down. I
- 29:51Speaker 3: think some recently aren't shut. So you've dramatically contracted refining
- 29:57Speaker 3: capacity on the West Coast. eliminating the normal sources of
- 30:00Speaker 3: jet fuel, gasoline, and diesel. And in doing that, created
- 30:04Speaker 3: a national security threat, because even our military bases out
- 30:08Speaker 3: there that need jet fuel to fly fighters, they have
- 30:12Speaker 3: to now source it elsewhere. They have to import it.
- 30:15Speaker 3: So what Newsom and the California government, these lunatics, have
- 30:19Speaker 3: done is not only created a tight market for things
- 30:24Speaker 3: like diesel, gasoline, and jet fuel, but they've created national
- 30:27Speaker 3: security risks for absolutely no reason other than their mad
- 30:31Speaker 3: lunacy and corruption. And what's the other reason? Well, of course,
- 30:36Speaker 3: the other reason is the war in Ukraine. You remember
- 30:38Speaker 3: Boris Johnson kept it going that lunatics in Europe want
- 30:41Speaker 3: to keep it going. No one will ever accept any
- 30:44Speaker 3: kind of a settlement. So what has that done? Well, now,
- 30:48Speaker 3: with all the money and the support that is being
- 30:51Speaker 3: provided to Ukraine, they are beginning to attack deep inside
- 30:55Speaker 3: of Russia, and they've begun taking out refining capacities So
- 30:59Speaker 3: you now have shortages of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel
- 31:05Speaker 3: in Russia. So this war is beginning now to affect
- 31:10Speaker 3: global energy markets in a way that it hadn't for
- 31:14Speaker 3: a long time. Because we sunk some Russian ships, and
- 31:18Speaker 3: they attacked inside Ukraine. It really hadn't amounted much in
- 31:24Speaker 3: terms of impact on the oil markets. But now it is.
- 31:29Speaker 3: So if you go back over the last six months,
- 31:31Speaker 3: they've stopped exporting gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel out of Russia.
- 31:36Speaker 3: And we were really needing that to continue in order
- 31:39Speaker 3: to offset what's going on in the Strait. And that's
- 31:41Speaker 3: the third factor, of course, of the Strait of Hormuz,
- 31:44Speaker 3: where you had 21% of the world's oil coming through,
- 31:47Speaker 3: or 20% roughly, and it got shut off. Now you've
- 31:50Speaker 3: got Saudi using the pipeline. We've covered that. And their
- 31:52Speaker 3: problem is that they're not getting as much out as
- 31:54Speaker 3: they would if the Strait was open. You've got UAE
- 31:56Speaker 3: getting some out by pipeline. Overall, there's a reduction. One
- 31:59Speaker 3: oil expert I was talking to put it down to
- 32:01Speaker 3: about 4 million barrels a day. Others say it's more.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Whatever it is, we would like to get that opened
- 32:06Speaker 3: up again. But think about this. Donald Trump is fighting
- 32:11Speaker 3: a war that results in the closure of the Strait
- 32:14Speaker 3: of Hormuz. He's only drawn down the Strategic Patrolling Reserve
- 32:19Speaker 3: by 68 million barrels.
- 32:21Speaker 5: I don't know if that factor is true. What I
- 32:24Speaker 5: saw is that it's at its lowest level since 1985.
- 32:28Speaker 5: But let me respond to some of the stuff you said.
- 32:32Speaker 5: Just bear with me for a second. Here's what the
- 32:34Speaker 5: problem is. If you want to sit there and try
- 32:38Speaker 5: to say to people, everything's great.
- 32:40Speaker 2: The economy's great. But wait a second.
- 32:44Speaker 5: That's what they were trying to do with Biden. Don't
- 32:46Speaker 5: you remember when this was all going on with Biden?
- 32:47Speaker 3: The Strategic Petroleum Reserve was drawn down by Biden. by
- 32:53Speaker 3: 224 million barrels. 224 million barrels, no war in sight.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Donald Trump has drawn down 68 million barrels. So here's
- 33:03Speaker 3: the problem. While you've got all these good statistics, of course,
- 33:08Speaker 3: the price of gasoline has come up commensurate with the
- 33:10Speaker 3: attack on Iran. But the attack on Iran is I mean,
- 33:16Speaker 3: it's an actual war, the reason for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
- 33:19Speaker 3: And yet Trump has drawn down a fraction of the amount.
- 33:22Speaker 3: So the irresponsible behavior that you and I spent a
- 33:27Speaker 3: lot of time covering of the Democrats drawing down the
- 33:30Speaker 3: SPR for no reason but to try to offset their
- 33:34Speaker 3: bad energy policy have put us in a place of jeopardy.
- 33:37Speaker 5: No, no, I just want to emphasize something.
- 33:40Speaker 3: What's happening now?
- 33:41Speaker 5: And here's what AI says. President Trump authorized drawing down
- 33:45Speaker 5: a strategic petroleum reserve. He approved the release of 172
- 33:49Speaker 5: million barrels of oil from the stockpile to help lower
- 33:53Speaker 5: energy prices. That's 172 million barrels.
- 33:59Speaker 3: Trump. You say the decline under Biden was 244.5 million barrels,
- 34:05Speaker 3: and the decline under Trump is 69.4 million barrels.
- 34:08Speaker 5: Is the strategic oil reserve at one of its lowest
- 34:11Speaker 5: points since 1985?
- 34:11Speaker 3: Yes. Yes, don't you wish we had that 244 million
- 34:16Speaker 3: barrels back in?
- 34:16Speaker 2: But we don't, and he's drawing it down further.
- 34:19Speaker 5: So are gasoline and oil prices being manipulated by going
- 34:24Speaker 5: into the strategic oil reserves so that we're not really
- 34:28Speaker 5: seeing the full effect of this war?
- 34:30Speaker 2: There's a reason why he's going into it.
- 34:32Speaker 3: It's not manipulation. It was there in case of a
- 34:35Speaker 3: disruption of the global oil markets. There is a disruption,
- 34:39Speaker 3: one in Russia.
- 34:40Speaker 5: Okay, what do you do when you reach the low?
- 34:44Speaker 5: What's the next move then?
- 34:46Speaker 3: Here's the problem. Because the Democrats drew down to 244
- 34:49Speaker 3: million barrels, we're now down at this all-time low.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Well, what do you do now? What do you do
- 34:57Speaker 2: when you're done tapping it? Where do you go now?
- 34:59Speaker 3: Well, that's a separate question. But what I'm trying to
- 35:01Speaker 3: point out to you is that You know, you're taking
- 35:03Speaker 3: all this inflation that came at the hands of these
- 35:06Speaker 3: other administrations, Democrat and Republican, the $ 40 trillion of debt,
- 35:10Speaker 3: and you're dumping it on Trump. Now, I will tell
- 35:13Speaker 3: you that this Congress and Trump have signed off on
- 35:15Speaker 3: massive spending bills, the big ugly bill, this ridiculous defense bill.
- 35:21Speaker 3: So they are definitely contributing to inflation. But his policies
- 35:25Speaker 3: have offset so much of that that inflation is now
- 35:28Speaker 3: down to 2%. The problem is that's on top of
- 35:30Speaker 3: the 30% that came last. under the Democrats. And so
- 35:34Speaker 3: you're trying to attribute all of that to Trump. We've
- 35:37Speaker 3: got to look at this more.
- 35:40Speaker 5: So here you are saying that, as a result of
- 35:44Speaker 5: this war, well into this situation, we saw where Trump
- 35:47Speaker 5: was taking this inflation before the war. And prices were
- 35:51Speaker 5: down and they were going down. Then we've seen it
- 35:53Speaker 5: spring back up. But you're going to say, well, that's
- 35:56Speaker 5: not Trump's fault.
- 35:58Speaker 2: That's Biden's fault.
- 35:59Speaker 5: At what point does Trump take ownership of this?
- 36:04Speaker 3: What I'm telling you is we're at 2.11% today. That's
- 36:08Speaker 3: where inflation is right now. Today. That's where it is. Now,
- 36:14Speaker 3: the 30% that came before is not from Trump. You
- 36:17Speaker 3: know that.
- 36:20Speaker 5: You remind me of the people that were trying to
- 36:22Speaker 5: tell everybody how good it was under Biden. You're doing
- 36:26Speaker 5: the same scenario that they did under Biden, telling people
- 36:31Speaker 5: how great everything was.
- 36:33Speaker 2: And people said, but I'm not feeling that.
- 36:36Speaker 5: I'm not talking about feeling.
- 36:39Speaker 3: This is about data.
- 36:41Speaker 2: No, but here's the reality. It's called consumer confidence.
- 36:45Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure people out there aren't feeling things are
- 36:48Speaker 5: going that great.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Ron, what I'm saying is, if you want to analyze this,
- 36:53Speaker 3: you have to look at the actual numbers and not
- 36:56Speaker 3: just the feelings.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Okay, so what people..
- 36:58Speaker 3: The numbers say the following.
- 36:59Speaker 2: All right. Things are going well. Whatever.
- 37:03Speaker 3: The numbers say we're at 2.11%. You might wish it
- 37:07Speaker 3: was 12 or 9 or 7, but it's not.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Do you think the economy's in a good spot right now?
- 37:14Speaker 6: No.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Do you think gas prices are high?
- 37:17Speaker 3: No.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Oh, so you think $ 4 a gallon is fine?
- 37:22Speaker 3: It's $ 0. 93 less than the peak we had.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Just a few years ago. It doesn't matter.
- 37:25Speaker 5: It's $ 4 a gallon. Do you think people are enjoying
- 37:27Speaker 5: paying it?
- 37:29Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 37:29Speaker 2: They want it low.
- 37:31Speaker 5: Okay, so it was $ 2. 50 before the war started. But
- 37:36Speaker 5: you want to tell me, well, at the peak it
- 37:37Speaker 5: was this. Well, it was down to $ 2.
- 37:39Speaker 3: 50.
- 37:39Speaker 5: Now it's up to $ 4. You don't think people get
- 37:42Speaker 5: pissed by that and that affects their economics?
- 37:45Speaker 3: Of course it does.
- 37:47Speaker 5: Then why are you trying to justify it by saying, well, it.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Used to.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Be this high, now it's only this high. Well, it's
- 37:55Speaker 2: still too damn high.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Okay, but if we don't look at the actual drivers
- 37:59Speaker 3: of things, we can't understand them. And when you shut
- 38:02Speaker 3: down massive amounts of refining capacity... you affect the price
- 38:06Speaker 3: of gas.
- 38:07Speaker 5: When you curtail the amount of oil as a result
- 38:10Speaker 5: of the strait being closed and the war that you
- 38:12Speaker 5: started and millions of barrels that are off the market,
- 38:15Speaker 5: not four million, I think way beyond that, it's going
- 38:19Speaker 5: to have a big effect on the price of oil.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Period. You don't think it does?
- 38:25Speaker 3: Well, of course the Strait of Hormuz being closed has
- 38:28Speaker 3: affected the price of oil.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Do you think it's affected the price of nitrogen and fertilizer?
- 38:33Speaker 2: Of course it has.
- 38:34Speaker 3: I've never said it hasn't.
- 38:35Speaker 2: And it's creating inflation?
- 38:37Speaker 3: I told you what inflation is right now today. It's 2.11%.
- 38:40Speaker 3: You may not like the number, but that's the number.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Do you think that..
- 38:46Speaker 5: This justification reminds me exactly of the Democrats under Biden.
- 38:51Speaker 5: They were doing the same thing. They were doing the
- 38:54Speaker 5: same thing. And then they lost the election. And they said,
- 38:57Speaker 5: I don't understand why we lost. We told everybody how
- 39:00Speaker 5: great everything was. Well, you're trying to do the same
- 39:03Speaker 5: thing now.
- 39:04Speaker 3: I'm not saying any of the things you're saying. Here's
- 39:07Speaker 3: what I'm saying. The vast majority of the drawdown of
- 39:11Speaker 3: the Strategic Petroleum Reserve came under the Democrats, who did
- 39:14Speaker 3: it specifically to offset bad energy policy in order to
- 39:17Speaker 3: protect them in the midterms. And in 24. 244 million barrels.
- 39:24Speaker 3: Trump has drawn down a fraction of that at 68
- 39:28Speaker 3: million barrels. A fraction of it. it. So this whole
- 39:31Speaker 3: problem with the Strategic Petroleum Reserve came before he got in.
- 39:34Speaker 3: Now that's a factor he should have considered.
- 39:36Speaker 2: We got a break. We got a break. Stand by.
- 39:39Speaker 2: We'll be right back.
- 39:43Speaker 5: The tvn ron verb compensating with the g2 i'll read
- 39:47Speaker 5: it again right here as part of the effort president
- 39:50Speaker 5: trump authorized the department of energy to release 172 million
- 39:54Speaker 5: barrels for a strategic petroleum reserve 172 million barrels it's
- 39:59Speaker 5: not 69 million it's.
- 40:01Speaker 3: 172 authorized i'm talking about the actual levels.
- 40:05Speaker 5: In the tanks A hundred and seventy two million. So
- 40:08Speaker 5: they're releasing this to keep oil prices low. I mean,
- 40:12Speaker 5: when I say you remind me of the Democrats, the
- 40:14Speaker 5: Democrats are trying to tell everybody how low inflation was,
- 40:17Speaker 5: how great the economy was doing. And people said, are
- 40:21Speaker 5: you nuts? Now you're coming now you're coming on saying, well,
- 40:24Speaker 5: you know, gas prices used to be whatever, five bucks
- 40:26Speaker 5: a gallon.
- 40:27Speaker 2: They're only four, four. So we should be happy about that. Well,
- 40:31Speaker 2: they're still ridiculously high.
- 40:34Speaker 5: I mean, you're trying to convince everybody, you know, when
- 40:37Speaker 5: we weren't buying the inflation numbers for Biden, you're going
- 40:39Speaker 5: right back to the trap that they were using, trying
- 40:41Speaker 5: to tell everybody things are really good.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Do you really believe that?
- 40:46Speaker 3: I that's your language. I never said that.
- 40:49Speaker 2: I think things suck.
- 40:50Speaker 3: I'm telling you, data point.
- 40:52Speaker 2: And inflation is there. It's growing.
- 40:56Speaker 5: And he was bringing it down and he brought a
- 40:59Speaker 5: gas prices down.
- 41:01Speaker 3: And now it's one point six three or something like that.
- 41:03Speaker 3: It's up like point six from one point something like that.
- 41:06Speaker 3: It was down about what it was. I don't think
- 41:08Speaker 3: it got below one.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Boy, I don't understand why things aren't soaring.
- 41:14Speaker 5: I don't know why people aren't rejoicing in Trump's popularity.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Why is it so low then? Things are going great
- 41:20Speaker 2: according to statistics.
- 41:23Speaker 3: No, that's not. You're not hearing me. What I'm telling
- 41:27Speaker 3: you is these are actual facts. That's the world we
- 41:31Speaker 3: live in. So let's look at it clear-eyed.
- 41:34Speaker 5: And where is his approval rating with the actual facts
- 41:38Speaker 5: that say how great things are?
- 41:40Speaker 3: I'm not saying things are great. I'm telling you where
- 41:43Speaker 3: we are.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Well, where do you think we are?
- 41:46Speaker 3: Well, we're at gas that's still 93 cents below the peak.
- 41:49Speaker 3: We've got 2.11% inflation, not excluding anything, including we've got
- 41:55Speaker 3: rents falling in several major cities. We've got a strategic
- 42:01Speaker 3: patrolling reserve that is in desperate need. Now, the purpose
- 42:05Speaker 3: of that is war, is to protect us during war.
- 42:07Speaker 3: And now we're in war. And we're short by about
- 42:10Speaker 3: 244 million barrels because the Democrats pumped it out to
- 42:13Speaker 3: protect their elections. That's where we are. That's just reality. Now,
- 42:19Speaker 3: we also have this war that no one understands and
- 42:22Speaker 3: no one's prepared to figure out what to do about it.
- 42:26Speaker 3: Because nobody, Trump and the Israelis never effectively sold this
- 42:30Speaker 3: war to the American people. They never explained it properly.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Nobody bought the nuclear story. I still don't. And so
- 42:38Speaker 3: now they're into it, likely with a whole dose of
- 42:42Speaker 3: deceit from Mossad and overconfidence on Trump's part. And now
- 42:46Speaker 3: what do you do? Well, you've got to find a
- 42:48Speaker 3: path out. So one of the lies we're told every
- 42:52Speaker 3: day is that Iran gets stronger every day. But that's
- 42:57Speaker 3: just preposterous. That's ridiculous. They don't. And if there is
- 43:03Speaker 3: going to be another round of negotiations, that's fine, but
- 43:06Speaker 3: I don't think Trump should stop attacking until he's ready
- 43:11Speaker 3: to permanently withdraw. He should not stop attacking for negotiations.
- 43:16Speaker 3: He should continue pressing on until he's ready to withdraw.
- 43:20Speaker 3: There should not be another stop in this thing until
- 43:22Speaker 3: it's over. So you got to make this call. Are
- 43:27Speaker 3: you simply going to walk away? And if so, what
- 43:31Speaker 3: are the implications of that? Or are you going to
- 43:32Speaker 3: stay in And what are the costs and what are
- 43:35Speaker 3: the implications of that?
- 43:36Speaker 2: That'll be a discussion we'll have next week with G2.
- 43:39Speaker 2: Stay tuned. Sean's next.
