0:19
SPEAKER_02: Hello, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of the Tortured Fans Department Podcast.
0:25
SPEAKER_02: I am your host, Sean Boyle, and as you can tell from the episode title, it's another draft episode.
0:30
SPEAKER_02: We're running it back with the TV drama crew for TV comedies.
0:35
SPEAKER_02: Let me introduce the boys.
0:36
SPEAKER_02: I'll start with the top left of my screen.
0:38
SPEAKER_02: It is Mr.
0:39
SPEAKER_02: Joe Zweibel, the best, most fierce right back in the state of Indiana.
0:42
SPEAKER_02: Joe, how are you?
0:44
SPEAKER_01: I'm doing great.
0:45
SPEAKER_01: Happy to be here.
0:46
SPEAKER_01: Uh, thankful to be back after uh for I think second or third, third time all time.
0:52
SPEAKER_01: There we go.
0:53
SPEAKER_02: We also have the host of the Get Back Coach podcast, decked out in his Flyers jersey.
0:58
SPEAKER_02: It is Mr.
0:58
SPEAKER_02: Jake Myers.
0:59
SPEAKER_02: Jake, how are you?
1:00
SPEAKER_03: Hey, we're doing well.
1:02
SPEAKER_03: We're flyered up, trying to enjoy the Flyers right now.
1:05
SPEAKER_03: Trying, trying to enjoy the Sixers as well, but that's a story for another day.
1:11
SPEAKER_03: Uh glad to be back.
1:12
SPEAKER_03: Love talking, uh, shot that's not college football for for a change.
1:18
SPEAKER_02: And last but certainly not least is the pride of Baltimore County, Mr.
1:21
SPEAKER_02: Jeffrey Jeski.
1:23
SPEAKER_02: Jeff, how's it going?
1:24
SPEAKER_04: I'm doing well, buddy.
1:25
SPEAKER_04: Glad to be back.
1:26
SPEAKER_04: Love talking TV shows and and love to pretend I'm a Penguins fan to make Jake really mad.
1:32
SPEAKER_02: I'm in the same boat there.
1:33
SPEAKER_02: Our opening question is just going to be a simple one.
1:37
SPEAKER_02: We're running it back with the same crew, like I mentioned.
1:39
SPEAKER_02: We don't have to talk about who won that draft.
1:41
SPEAKER_02: It was me.
1:42
SPEAKER_02: But I wanted to get your overall just impressions of how you felt you did in that draft.
1:47
SPEAKER_02: Did the board fall the way you wanted it to?
1:49
SPEAKER_02: Were you proud of your selections?
1:51
SPEAKER_02: Did everything go the way you wanted, or are you looking to make improvements for this episode?
1:55
SPEAKER_04: Let me jump in and be the first to say that the tortured, uh, the tortured fans pod hive mind that just votes for their but their baby Sean is uh is an embarrassing crew, and they should all be ashamed of themselves for their performance in the vote in that draft.
2:10
SPEAKER_02: That's no way to win over the listeners in this episode.
2:13
SPEAKER_02: Let me just say that.
2:14
SPEAKER_04: I'm not here to make friends.
2:16
SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
2:18
SPEAKER_01: Yep, I would second that.
2:20
SPEAKER_04: I would also like to say justice for Jeremy, who put together a really great draft, and you said put his name in the comments if you want to vote for him.
2:30
SPEAKER_02: Justice for Jeremy, absolutely.
2:32
SPEAKER_02: If you guys listen to the episode, he drafted LA and then talked about how great Malibu was.
2:37
SPEAKER_02: He said Nashville was an East Coast City, and he took Miami for their sports culture.
2:42
SPEAKER_02: So please, please, please take that off my plate.
2:45
SPEAKER_02: Take that off my plate.
2:47
SPEAKER_02: We'll what's beyond the the fact that we're talking about TV comedies here today.
2:54
SPEAKER_01: Oh man.
2:55
SPEAKER_01: I would say I I think I think if I I think if I could have got Friday Night Lights from you, I may I could have squeaked out first, but you know, I'll settle for second in my debut.
3:05
SPEAKER_03: I'm disappointed by the results.
3:07
SPEAKER_03: People don't understand what great television and what a Titan Law and Order was.
3:12
SPEAKER_03: Okay.
3:13
SPEAKER_03: Like people just don't know.
3:18
SPEAKER_03: They're still pumping out episodes.
3:19
SPEAKER_03: Come on.
3:20
SPEAKER_03: I think I want to stand by that thing.
3:25
SPEAKER_01: Justice for Minnie Joe.
3:26
SPEAKER_01: Justice for Minnie Joe, also, by the way.
3:28
SPEAKER_01: The only clip to cut the only clip you post out of that episode is Minnie Joe.
3:35
SPEAKER_02: All right, boys.
3:35
SPEAKER_02: So we send to the draft rules.
3:37
SPEAKER_02: It is the same as always.
3:39
SPEAKER_02: We are doing six rounds.
3:41
SPEAKER_02: It takes two vetoes to get a pick removed from the board.
3:44
SPEAKER_02: Hopefully, it doesn't come to that.
3:46
SPEAKER_02: We're all there's good vibes in the pre-chat before the episode.
3:49
SPEAKER_02: So hopefully we don't get malicious and start taking things off the board.
3:53
SPEAKER_02: A general rule of thumb for the listener, by the way, we post a draft episode and then give people about a week to listen before we release the poll on Instagram because the poll basically just spoils the entire episode.
4:04
SPEAKER_02: As you guys just did with the city's draft.
4:06
SPEAKER_02: If you're like, oh my god, look how good Jeremy's draft was.
4:08
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, maybe tune in and talk about how Nashville's an East Coast City and you have a different tune.
4:12
SPEAKER_02: So I think that's the way we're going to do it moving forward.
4:16
SPEAKER_02: For this draft in particular, it has to be a comedy.
4:18
SPEAKER_02: It can be blended with a drama, but it needs to be undeniably at least equal parts funny.
4:24
SPEAKER_02: So I think we're all on the same page there.
4:26
SPEAKER_02: One clarification is Freaks and Geeks is not draft eligible because Jake, you took that last time.
4:32
SPEAKER_02: So does anybody have any questions before we get into the order?
4:36
SPEAKER_04: No, I I just think a good rule of thumb is if the show is on streaming and it's not listed under comedy, then I think you're a little SOL.
4:45
SPEAKER_04: Okay.
4:46
SPEAKER_04: That's it.
4:47
SPEAKER_02: That's fine with me.
4:49
SPEAKER_02: The draft order today is Jeff, Joe, Jake, and then myself.
4:54
SPEAKER_02: I'm happy I don't have the first pick in this one.
4:56
SPEAKER_02: There's palpable anticipation for where Jeff's gonna go.
4:59
SPEAKER_02: Jeffrey, kick things off.
5:01
SPEAKER_04: Uh in my mind, there were really only two shows that I was deciding between.
5:06
SPEAKER_04: Now, there are many that I think could be in consideration for this, but in terms of a comedy that sticks in the in the cultural lexicon, I'm taking Seinfeld 1-1.
5:17
SPEAKER_01: Yep.
5:20
SPEAKER_01: Yep.
5:21
SPEAKER_01: Alright, that's why I was I was thinking it would move that's where you would go, Jeff.
5:27
SPEAKER_01: I is it up to me here, Sean, or do we want some commentary?
5:30
SPEAKER_01: Let's talk about Seinfeld a little bit.
5:32
SPEAKER_01: Jesus.
5:32
SPEAKER_01: One of the ball-time breaks.
5:36
SPEAKER_01: Jeff cut it dead.
5:38
SPEAKER_02: It was my one-one as well.
5:40
SPEAKER_04: It was a first-round grade for me.
5:42
SPEAKER_04: It's a show that, you know, the first time watching it was certainly not watching it straight through.
5:48
SPEAKER_04: It's watching reruns, you know, sitting on the couch with with my my mom or dad and and just kind of catching an episode here, an episode there, and then getting older and having the DVD set at home and just kind of rolling through it and just being like, it the show's unbelievable.
6:04
SPEAKER_04: Just to be able to do what they did with that style of TV show, which again, it's obviously the common phrase, but it it is a show that that is about nothing, and it's just, you know, they ran for nine years and it was just an absolute hammer every year.
6:20
SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
6:21
SPEAKER_03: And it went out on top.
6:22
SPEAKER_03: That ninth season is like near perfect.
6:26
SPEAKER_04: I know people hate the finale, but I I was okay.
6:30
SPEAKER_03: I thought the finale was fine.
6:32
SPEAKER_03: I they get their comeuppance.
6:33
SPEAKER_03: Um, but yeah, it's Seinfeld 1-1.
6:37
SPEAKER_03: And then like also adding things like yada yada yada.
6:40
SPEAKER_03: I feel like that was like a huge like in our everyday double dip the chip, take one dip and end it.
6:46
SPEAKER_03: Double dip.
6:46
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like just cultural significance too.
6:50
SPEAKER_03: Seinfeld is huge.
6:51
SPEAKER_03: Larry David, great writer, but yeah, Seinfeld was my one-one.
6:54
SPEAKER_04: Plus, the amount of the amount of people that still say no soup for you.
6:57
SPEAKER_04: I mean, the show ended 30 almost 30 years ago.
7:02
SPEAKER_02: Favorite character?
7:02
SPEAKER_04: Also, I mean, how do you not love George?
7:06
SPEAKER_04: I mean, George George just straight up conned his way into working for the Yankees.
7:11
SPEAKER_04: Top Mickey Mantle.
7:13
SPEAKER_02: Come on! Yeah, Jeff, great pick.
7:16
SPEAKER_02: Honestly, that's that that was definitely a first rounder.
7:19
SPEAKER_02: It was just a matter of who took it first, so I don't think anybody could have any quarrels with that one.
7:24
SPEAKER_02: If nothing else, Joe, it's over to you.
7:27
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm trying to think about, you know, do I go with my heart here in terms of the order, or do I go with you know a blend of kind of you know what maybe is deserving of a first first round pick?
7:39
SPEAKER_01: And I think I'm gonna lean that route.
7:41
SPEAKER_01: Um, I am a big fan of shows where it's a you know large group of people having a great time, chumming it up, seeing all the, you know, different uh seeing all the different dynamics between a group of people.
7:56
SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, I think for me, I gotta go friends.
8:00
SPEAKER_01: Uh just I think it influenced influenced a lot Jeff the face.
8:05
SPEAKER_01: Love it.
8:06
SPEAKER_01: I will say it's uh there are a couple other uh shows that are similar that I'm hoping uh maybe fall to me, but that are of a similar format that you know I wouldn't say this one is necessarily my favorite, but I think I mean the the cast list is full of Titans.
8:23
SPEAKER_01: It you know, was you know a good balance of serious and and funny, and I think it paved the way for a lot of I think similar shows um you know in in the last you know maybe 10-15 years as well.
8:38
SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna go friends.
8:40
SPEAKER_03: So I am not a huge friends guy, and I can already tell Jeff is not either.
8:46
SPEAKER_03: Yep.
8:47
SPEAKER_03: Um, however, however, put like huge significance.
8:51
SPEAKER_03: Like I remember like my mom watching the finale in real time.
8:55
SPEAKER_03: I knew how big of a deal that was, but there are moments in that show that are hilarious.
9:03
SPEAKER_03: Uh I I think Joey watch it or Joey on Pyramid is so outrageous.
9:10
SPEAKER_03: Um, and there's like the pivot, but the pivot scene, like I just sometimes I just want to punch Ross right in the face.
9:18
SPEAKER_03: And I think I'm supposed to.
9:19
SPEAKER_03: I don't know if I'm supposed to or not, but like him.
9:23
SPEAKER_03: Yep, yeah.
9:23
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but Channel Chandler Bing, one of the funniest characters of all time.
9:28
SPEAKER_03: So, friends, I I I could I definitely could see it up there, just not my cup of tea.
9:32
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's a it's an unquestionable first round show.
9:34
SPEAKER_04: It's just it's just not my cup of tea.
9:36
SPEAKER_04: I didn't even put it on the list because I just don't love it.
9:38
SPEAKER_04: Um, but I know people do, and I'm okay being wrong on that one.
9:41
SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, Joe, I'll jump in and save you a little bit here.
9:44
SPEAKER_02: I do enjoy Friends, it was on my list.
9:46
SPEAKER_02: I think unquestionably it wasn't going to be something I would draft because it's a first rounder and I didn't have it that high on my list.
9:52
SPEAKER_02: But I think the people that shit on it that have watched it are a little bit out of line.
9:56
SPEAKER_02: It was it was a very, very good show.
9:58
SPEAKER_02: I can totally get you guys not getting into it, that's one thing.
10:01
SPEAKER_02: But I think the people that have watched it and then openly shit on it, I think that's a bit out of bounds.
10:06
SPEAKER_04: Phoebe singing smelly cat, sign me up.
10:08
SPEAKER_04: I'm in on that.
10:10
SPEAKER_02: What are they feeding you?
10:11
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
10:11
SPEAKER_02: Uh we were on a break, is an all-time scene.
10:15
SPEAKER_02: That don't worry about me falling asleep.
10:17
SPEAKER_02: I still have your letters.
10:19
SPEAKER_02: It's it's literally some good stuff there.
10:22
SPEAKER_02: And I do agree, Jake.
10:23
SPEAKER_02: Ross was so punchable, but I think that is the point.
10:26
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
10:27
SPEAKER_01: I think there's there's a character kind of for everybody too, you know, as we've all, you know, kind of described.
10:33
SPEAKER_01: I think that uh, you know, so many sub-dynamics, there's obviously the group dynamics, but you know, some so many of the, you know, whether it's two character dynamics or three characters or you know, obviously there's the you know romantic relationship dynamics as well.
10:46
SPEAKER_01: And so I uh I I think it's definitely worthy of a first rounder.
10:51
SPEAKER_01: For sure.
10:52
SPEAKER_03: All right, who's uh me?
10:53
SPEAKER_03: Oh me.
10:54
SPEAKER_03: Um I'm gonna go.
10:57
SPEAKER_03: I'm I'm the I'm trying not to pander, but I'm gonna go with the hometown pick here.
11:02
SPEAKER_03: I think I'm gonna go the United States uh version of The Office.
11:08
SPEAKER_03: I know it it wasn't as strong of a show towards the end, but I I still kind of like the Robert California season a bit.
11:19
SPEAKER_03: Um, you know, it's a different show when Michael Leaves, but there's just so much.
11:23
SPEAKER_03: It's like every episode has something in it, even Scotstots, but every like, and I feel like it's also a show that was big when it came out, but then when it hit streaming, it exploded again and had like this renaissance.
11:40
SPEAKER_03: So I'm going uh the office United States, huge.
11:44
SPEAKER_03: And for all of us being from the Scranton area, I think everyone knows, kind of has an idea where we live now, which I think is kind of cool.
11:52
SPEAKER_02: Well, I think last time Joe was on, he was airing out my parents' home address.
11:55
SPEAKER_02: So I think just the general Scranton area is better.
11:59
SPEAKER_02: I don't think that's no, it's not a he already said, Yeah, I I completely agree with everything you said there, Jake.
12:07
SPEAKER_02: The second life of the office really was so much bigger than the first.
12:11
SPEAKER_02: It was a big show and it got better as it went along, or at least got more popular as it went along.
12:15
SPEAKER_02: You could argue the early seasons were actually the best.
12:18
SPEAKER_02: But the second life, when it hit streaming, it completely took over.
12:22
SPEAKER_02: Now everybody's seen it.
12:23
SPEAKER_02: I think it travels well amongst the age groups, too.
12:25
SPEAKER_02: There's a lot of young people that have gotten into the office, which is not the case with some of these shows we're gonna talk about.
12:30
SPEAKER_02: So I think the office was another clear first rounder, and things are going pretty chalky, I will say.
12:36
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
12:36
SPEAKER_04: This is um that's the part that I was gonna bring up, Sean.
12:39
SPEAKER_04: That's where I considered at one-one between Seinfeld and the office, because I think in our in our generation, as the millennials, I think Seinfeld did seep down into that.
12:49
SPEAKER_04: I don't know how much it has into younger groups, but you know, uh Gener Gen Z and and even below that have all gotten into the office, which is to its credit.
12:59
SPEAKER_01: Yep.
12:59
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think the office was I I I think for me, probably for looking objectively, is would be one of the top two, but I I just for whatever reason, I just don't love it.
13:11
SPEAKER_01: I I have not, I don't really love it.
13:14
SPEAKER_01: I have tried on multiple occasions to really push through, and it just was never really, never really, you know, tickled my fancy.
13:23
SPEAKER_01: And so uh because of that, I just had a had to ignore it.
13:26
SPEAKER_01: But I I recognize I'm I left the big one on the board there for Jeffrey.
13:30
SPEAKER_01: Or for Jeff.
13:31
SPEAKER_04: I do think there are some some bad seasons, Joe.
13:33
SPEAKER_04: I think the first season's not very good.
13:35
SPEAKER_04: I think the season where they are you know between bosses and bring in Idris Elba, that definitely didn't work.
13:42
SPEAKER_04: Even the Will Farrell stuff's like kind of eh.
13:45
SPEAKER_04: I'm with you, Jake.
13:46
SPEAKER_04: I I the Robert uh, you know, the the Robert California stuff did more for me than it did for some other people, but I understand why people don't really like that season as well.
13:56
SPEAKER_04: Um, so there is definitely more negative than you would think in in a show kind of as highly touted and and recognized as it is, but that just tells how good the middle of it was.
14:08
SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
14:09
SPEAKER_04: Also, one of the better finales.
14:11
SPEAKER_04: I think they wrapped it up perfectly.
14:12
SPEAKER_03: Yes, yes, they did.
14:14
SPEAKER_03: For a show, like I said, that wasn't having a strong couple seasons towards the end.
14:20
SPEAKER_03: I think they wrapped it up, I think, as perfect as you could.
14:23
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the last three episodes were really strong.
14:25
SPEAKER_02: They they tied a bow on it nicely.
14:27
SPEAKER_02: That's a great pick, and it will play in this grand crowd, Jake.
14:31
SPEAKER_02: So definitely, definitely worthy of a first rounder.
14:34
SPEAKER_04: The Asian gym bits, one of my favorite bits in television history.
14:38
SPEAKER_02: So good.
14:40
SPEAKER_02: Jim Park, legend.
14:43
SPEAKER_02: Some of those cold openings were fantastic.
14:45
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the fire girl from Dwight.
14:47
SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
14:48
SPEAKER_03: One of the funniest episodes of like it's what does war mean?
14:53
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, try another exit.
14:55
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, it's great.
14:56
SPEAKER_03: That's one of the funniest episodes.
14:58
SPEAKER_02: All right, it's up to me for two.
15:01
SPEAKER_02: I was really hope I have three that I wanted, and I was really hoping you guys took one of them to make my decision easier.
15:06
SPEAKER_02: And you didn't.
15:07
SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna take I'm gonna take Kerb your enthusiasm with my first round pick.
15:13
SPEAKER_00: Very good.
15:13
SPEAKER_02: I tip my cap to Seinfeld, obviously.
15:16
SPEAKER_02: It goes without saying all credit goes there for Larry David, and it's a spin-off of that in ways.
15:21
SPEAKER_02: But I prefer Curb.
15:23
SPEAKER_02: I think it's more rewatchable.
15:25
SPEAKER_02: I go back to it a lot more than I go back to Seinfeld.
15:27
SPEAKER_02: Nothing against it.
15:28
SPEAKER_02: I think they're both great.
15:29
SPEAKER_02: I just really like the Ancelary characters and Curb.
15:32
SPEAKER_02: Jeff is one of my favorite comedy guys of all time.
15:35
SPEAKER_02: His wife Susie is electric when she gets on screen.
15:38
SPEAKER_02: Leon Black, all the adventures that Larry goes on throughout a normal day in his life.
15:44
SPEAKER_02: I just love everything about it.
15:45
SPEAKER_02: And I think they they did pretty well throughout as well.
15:48
SPEAKER_02: They got strong as the season went on.
15:49
SPEAKER_02: Their cameos in late seasons were good.
15:51
SPEAKER_02: I liked when Vince Vaughn joined the cast.
15:53
SPEAKER_02: I was all in on Kirby Enthusiasm, so I'm happy to have that in my first round.
15:57
SPEAKER_04: Didn't you have my 75% requirement?
15:59
SPEAKER_04: I've seen some of it.
16:02
SPEAKER_02: Same.
16:03
SPEAKER_02: Wow, really?
16:04
SPEAKER_02: I know it's good, but I just haven't watched enough of it.
16:08
SPEAKER_02: See, that was one I was certain that a couple of you guys would have seen, and I was scared it wouldn't get back to me, but I'm happy to have it nonetheless.
16:15
SPEAKER_02: Now here's where the real question comes in is which one of the next two do I want?
16:20
SPEAKER_02: And I'm just gonna go with what I'm feeling in the moment, and I will take How I Met Your Mother.
16:28
SPEAKER_03: Damn.
16:30
SPEAKER_03: I thought that was gonna slip.
16:32
SPEAKER_02: Me too.
16:34
SPEAKER_02: I I was happy to reach for it.
16:36
SPEAKER_02: It's it's the one that I like the most, in my opinion.
16:38
SPEAKER_02: Like if you were just to ask me, you get to pick one to watch again and again, I'm going with How I Met Your Mother.
16:42
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I love a show based in New York City.
16:45
SPEAKER_02: The whole cast has they play a role so well.
16:47
SPEAKER_02: Different elements of the city.
16:49
SPEAKER_01: Keep talking about friends here.
16:51
SPEAKER_01: Uh keep talking about friends here, Sean.
16:53
SPEAKER_01: Keep going, buddy.
16:54
SPEAKER_01: Keep going, brother.
16:55
SPEAKER_02: Friends is a little bit dialed back, in my opinion.
16:59
SPEAKER_02: How I met your mother is a little bit more nuanced.
17:01
SPEAKER_02: I love Marshall.
17:03
SPEAKER_02: He's by far my favorite character in the show.
17:05
SPEAKER_02: Marshmallow and LilyPad.
17:07
SPEAKER_02: Lily Loki kind of stinks.
17:08
SPEAKER_02: I will say that.
17:10
SPEAKER_02: Selfishly.
17:12
SPEAKER_04: Lily's such a bad person.
17:14
SPEAKER_02: She's terrible, really.
17:15
SPEAKER_02: Marshall deserves better, but boy, oh boy, what a show.
17:19
SPEAKER_04: It's Marshall versus the Machine.
17:24
SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, that's a great one.
17:26
SPEAKER_04: It's the show that I've watched the most in my life.
17:29
SPEAKER_04: I've probably seen How I Met Your Mother straight through five or six times.
17:34
SPEAKER_00: Wow.
17:35
SPEAKER_04: The the season where spending 23 episodes in a in a little like uh bed and breakfast waiting for the wedding really kind of pissed me off.
17:45
SPEAKER_04: But otherwise, other than that, and the the finale, which I mean, yeah, you didn't need eight seasons to get to to that finale.
17:52
SPEAKER_04: We we could ended it after about 11 episodes if we were gonna do that.
17:56
SPEAKER_04: But otherwise, it's I mean, there are very few misses.
18:00
unknown: Yeah.
18:00
SPEAKER_04: The blitz is one of the greatest episodes.
18:06
SPEAKER_01: False pick one my heart, that's what my that's what my number two pick would have been.
18:10
SPEAKER_01: But I I decided to go with maybe what is the more critically acclaimed, though maybe that's not the case.
18:16
SPEAKER_01: I don't know what you guys think.
18:17
SPEAKER_02: I think you were looking for the word pander there, is what you decided to go with with friend.
18:24
SPEAKER_04: Who's the uh who's the best, Sean, uh since you drafted it?
18:28
SPEAKER_04: In your opinion, who is the best significant other of uh of Ted's?
18:33
SPEAKER_02: Oh, I was in love with I think she was a tattoo removal artist.
18:38
SPEAKER_02: She was the one who is they made the play about she ended up getting back with her um original husband.
18:46
SPEAKER_02: Stella.
18:46
SPEAKER_02: Stella, that's it.
18:48
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I love Stella.
18:49
SPEAKER_02: And I also like Victoria.
18:50
SPEAKER_04: No Tandusville, baby doll.
18:52
SPEAKER_02: I can only imagine from Victoria.
18:56
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I was a Zoe stan, super unpopular opinion.
19:00
SPEAKER_03: I was Jeff, I was a big Zoe person.
19:05
SPEAKER_03: I was a big Zoe person too, and then they like kind of nuked her because that then she went like totally crazy.
19:12
SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, okay, well, you think I'm off.
19:15
SPEAKER_03: But I think I think Victoria was probably the best.
19:19
SPEAKER_03: That's probably the person.
19:20
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it should have been very clearly wasn't Robin.
19:23
SPEAKER_02: I I don't I didn't hate it.
19:27
SPEAKER_02: No, Jake.
19:28
SPEAKER_02: No, I was gonna say it.
19:29
SPEAKER_02: I was gonna save it because I didn't want to come out as a guy who kind of liked it secretly as well.
19:33
SPEAKER_02: I loved it.
19:34
SPEAKER_03: I they would I I didn't hate that he ended up with Robin.
19:37
SPEAKER_03: I just the problem is I loved uh Tracy, uh Kristen Molotor because Molotti.
19:46
SPEAKER_03: Uh she was and I think that's the reason why she was perfect, and it was perfect, and if we would have ended it there, I think it would have been fine.
19:58
SPEAKER_03: It'd be like, that's how I met your mother, and she comes in with the kids of like, oh, what's your father talking?
20:02
SPEAKER_03: That would have been, but because they wanted to go that extra step of well, she passed, and now a spoiler, spoiler alert.
20:11
SPEAKER_03: Um then when he gets the blue French horn, it ties it back to the first episode.
20:18
SPEAKER_03: So yeah, I I didn't hate it as much.
20:21
SPEAKER_03: Blue French horn.
20:22
SPEAKER_03: That was all I was gonna say.
20:22
SPEAKER_03: Blue French horn.
20:23
SPEAKER_03: That's the blue French horn.
20:25
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, find someone, find someone you want to steal the blue French horn for.
20:30
SPEAKER_02: Robin certainly fits that box.
20:31
SPEAKER_02: Robin I'd steal you a million.
20:33
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
20:36
SPEAKER_02: You'd have a whole orchestra.
20:39
SPEAKER_03: Love how I met your mother.
20:41
SPEAKER_04: Great pick, Shawnee.
20:42
SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
20:43
SPEAKER_03: Okay.
20:43
SPEAKER_03: Um I I'm going with my heart here because I don't want someone else to I don't want someone else to take it because I think Sean's gonna take it.
20:53
SPEAKER_03: It is a show I got into uh thanks to our good friend actually Kyle Kotz, um, early on, I think in the second or third season, and I've been watching it ever since.
21:05
SPEAKER_03: One of the longest running sitcoms of all time.
21:08
SPEAKER_03: It's always sunny in Philadelphia.
21:11
SPEAKER_03: I love it.
21:13
SPEAKER_03: For people who say you cannot do edgy comedy anymore or edgy shows anymore.
21:20
SPEAKER_03: This spits in the face of that because it's edgy and you know, I I know borderline offensive, but they do the jokes in a way where it's not about the bad thing, it's about the characters being terrible people.
21:37
SPEAKER_03: Yes, and I think that's how they're able to do a lot of these like touchy, you know, offensive kind of subjects.
21:44
SPEAKER_03: But I love It's Always the Sunny in Philadelphia.
21:46
SPEAKER_03: I do want it to end soon because Danny DeVito is getting old and I think they just need to wrap it up.
21:53
SPEAKER_03: But I love it.
21:54
SPEAKER_03: Long is one of the longest running sitcoms of all time.
21:57
SPEAKER_03: Seinfeld on crack, as a lot of people.
22:00
SPEAKER_03: People say.
22:00
SPEAKER_04: Jake, I think to your point there, where in How I Met Your Mother, it it takes a while to realize that most of them are pretty terrible people.
22:09
SPEAKER_04: It's always Sonny tells you right away, these people suck, but we're gonna follow along and enjoy the ride.
22:15
SPEAKER_04: It's another show where I love so many of the episodes that I've seen, I just haven't watched it straight through.
22:22
SPEAKER_02: Jake, it was you stole it from me.
22:24
SPEAKER_02: You you were right in saying it was on my it was on my board for sure.
22:27
SPEAKER_02: So many, so many moments that I quote and go back to that are just like you get a visceral laughter out of me.
22:34
SPEAKER_02: It's it's great.
22:36
SPEAKER_02: And the framing of the jokes in the way that you talked about and how they teeter that line so well, it's very smart.
22:42
SPEAKER_02: There's a lot of improvisation in there.
22:43
SPEAKER_02: I like that the showrunners are in the show.
22:45
SPEAKER_02: It's it's just very it's really strong.
22:48
SPEAKER_02: And of course, another local pick, Jake's playing the hometown hero card here.
22:51
SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
22:52
SPEAKER_02: I didn't even think Philadelphia market as well because because of my temple ties.
22:56
SPEAKER_02: So yeah, uh, you're playing the hits, Jake.
23:00
SPEAKER_03: Is it is it the most memeable show of all time?
23:04
SPEAKER_03: There's a lot.
23:05
SPEAKER_03: I mean, Charlie, Charlie in the basement with the the giant board is something I I meme all the time.
23:14
SPEAKER_03: You know, uh did someone get addicted to crack where they're like doing the yeah, the the the uh the hand motions of crying.
23:25
SPEAKER_03: There so many, so many good stuff.
23:27
SPEAKER_03: I'm in a I'm in the middle of a re-watch right now with uh with the girlfriend, so she's because she's never seen it.
23:34
SPEAKER_03: So I'm I'm very much enjoying it.
23:36
SPEAKER_01: I uh I sadly have not seen Always Sunny, maybe a couple of episodes here and there.
23:41
SPEAKER_01: I I think I told you, Sean, this is not gonna be my strongest, uh, strongest effort, but uh, but I'm gonna do my best.
23:49
SPEAKER_01: This one, I am gonna go with my heart.
23:52
SPEAKER_01: Uh similar uh friendship dynamics as uh as as you know, friends and how I met your mother.
23:59
SPEAKER_01: This one is probably the show that I have laughed out loud, just audibly by myself by far the most.
24:06
SPEAKER_01: Um you know, New Girl is a masterpiece, even though even though the even though the very a masterpiece outside of the ending, you could argue, but man, just all of the characters, Schmidt, Nick Miller, um, you know, good old Winston, CC mess around.
24:27
SPEAKER_01: Uh, you know, even to the point where, in my opinion, the main character in in Jessica Day is is the the you know the worst of the characters, is I mean, the show is just hilarious.
24:40
SPEAKER_02: Joe, that was the one actually I said there was three that I wanted to take, and I was hoping you guys that was the one that I was deciding between between How I Might Your Mother and New Girl.
24:50
SPEAKER_02: I love them both.
24:51
SPEAKER_02: I went with How I Met Your Mother because that's how I was feeling in the moment, but Newgirl is excellent.
24:56
SPEAKER_02: There's so many good characters on that show.
24:58
SPEAKER_02: I think it's so well written.
25:00
SPEAKER_02: Like you said, Jess is one of the worst characters, in my opinion, and she's the main character, so I think it's smart in the way that they made the sidekicks, the stars of the show.
25:08
SPEAKER_02: Really, really good stuff from Newgirl.
25:10
SPEAKER_03: But she's the straight man to like the zaniness that are her roommates.
25:16
SPEAKER_03: But I love New Girl.
25:18
SPEAKER_03: I someone told me about New Girl like during COVID, about I should watch it, and I I'm gonna be honest, I dismissed it.
25:25
SPEAKER_03: I was like, eh, and like I was like, am I really gonna like that?
25:29
SPEAKER_03: And I started watching it and I laugh out loud, funny from start from beginning to end.
25:37
SPEAKER_03: Um, but I didn't mind the last season too.
25:40
SPEAKER_03: When when they have Schmidt's daughter and Cece's daughter in the mix, I think she's adorable and hilarious, but love New Girl.
25:47
SPEAKER_03: I was hoping it was gonna fall another round.
25:51
SPEAKER_03: Great, great pick by Joey Zeitgeist.
25:54
SPEAKER_03: Joey Zeitgeist.
25:55
SPEAKER_03: Glad you brought that back.
25:57
SPEAKER_01: I think for I think for um for a comedy, I think there was a surprising amount of character growth, I think, throughout, you know, throughout all of the seasons.
26:07
SPEAKER_01: I think for me, what took the show to the next level is when they leaned into Winston's weirdness, and you know, he obviously was a very different character in the first few seasons, but when they just played into his his quirks, I mean, man, what just so many laughable moments.
26:27
SPEAKER_01: So many.
26:28
SPEAKER_01: Joe, do you have a favorite quote?
26:29
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm not I'm not the biggest, I'm not the best quote guy, so I I I can't rip one off right right from here, but um I mean I don't know.
26:38
SPEAKER_01: It's it probably is, even though Nick is probably my favorite of the characters.
26:41
SPEAKER_01: I mean, Schmidt is just says the most outlandish things uh just that you could ever imagine a character ever saying.
26:50
SPEAKER_01: Uh it smells like frickin' Tijuana.
26:54
SPEAKER_03: Tijuana after uh Nick and Jess kiss for the first time is probably my favorite.
27:01
SPEAKER_02: One of my favorite scenes is when Schmidt is trying to tell Nick that he's dating both CeCe and Elizabeth.
27:06
SPEAKER_02: Yes, and Nick is that one's gonna be yellow about it.
27:09
SPEAKER_02: He's like, Yeah, so you're dating Elizabeth.
27:11
SPEAKER_02: You can't do that.
27:13
SPEAKER_03: You can only have one wife! That's how the world works.
27:17
SPEAKER_02: Yes, so good.
27:19
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, all right, Jeff.
27:20
SPEAKER_02: Two big ones heading your way, and I think I'm about to get crushed as I wait on the wraparound here.
27:25
SPEAKER_02: I think we're just gonna start to see all my favorites fall.
27:28
SPEAKER_04: This is where I'm gonna stick to the board and not try to cater to the crowd.
27:33
SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna go with one of the greatest raunchy comedies of all time, one of the worst fictional athletes of all time, La Flama Blanca, Kenny Powers himself, Eastbound and Down will be my second round.
27:50
SPEAKER_02: Okay.
27:52
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's a good pick.
27:54
SPEAKER_02: It's one of those, Jeff, that I just haven't seen enough of.
27:57
SPEAKER_02: I enjoyed everything I've seen from it, but I just I wouldn't feel like I would be in a place to draft it.
28:03
SPEAKER_04: You talk about character development.
28:06
SPEAKER_04: There is very little for old Kenny Powers uh over the course of the show.
28:10
SPEAKER_04: Every time it looks like he's going to redeem himself, he does not, because that is just who Kenny Powers is.
28:17
SPEAKER_04: One of the one of the funniest scenes in television history when Jason Sadeikis shows up in the show and then dies, and he comes out with the boombox playing far behind by Candlebox.
28:29
SPEAKER_04: Is I I laugh thinking about it.
28:32
SPEAKER_04: It's one of the it's one of the great things.
28:34
SPEAKER_04: Then you have um when he's pitching down in Myrtle Beach, and in Mexico, he's very clearly a horrible athlete who can't throw baseball, and it's absolutely hilarious when they they make him seem like a professional athlete.
28:46
SPEAKER_04: Uh Eastbounded down, Stevie Janowski, one of the most absurd characters in TV history.
28:52
SPEAKER_04: Uh, can't beat it.
28:53
SPEAKER_03: So Jeff just watched this, uh, finished it up a couple months ago, and I hate Kenny so much.
29:02
SPEAKER_03: So much.
29:03
SPEAKER_03: Like you just, and like like you said, just when you think he's gonna redeem himself, he just doubles down.
29:10
SPEAKER_03: Um, him coming out in Mexico for the first time to take the pictures mount is just a classic scene.
29:16
SPEAKER_03: Um, I have it on my list, it was a little lower, but there is some one thing in each episode that is just laugh out loud, funny.
29:26
SPEAKER_03: Um, but yeah, Stevie like him.
29:30
SPEAKER_03: I just saw a video the other day, him saying fit get that fixance.
29:33
SPEAKER_03: Like he Stevie is just one of the most absurd, like you said, absurd character.
29:38
SPEAKER_02: Uh, your second pick I want to point out also, we're continuing the theme of Jake had not watched any television show until he turned 25 and COVID hit.
29:47
SPEAKER_02: Very much because pretty much dating back to our TV drama draft.
29:51
SPEAKER_02: Every every pick Jake was like, I saw this one during COVID.
29:53
SPEAKER_02: I watched this, and he's still he's like, just finished this one.
29:56
SPEAKER_02: They're all freaking out.
29:58
SPEAKER_03: Hey, I'm on season five of the wire, everybody.
30:01
SPEAKER_03: Oh, it's good.
30:02
SPEAKER_03: It's very good.
30:03
SPEAKER_03: I like the update, Jake.
30:04
SPEAKER_03: If you've never heard of it before, but it's a really good show.
30:07
SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna kick off the third round um with one of the longer-running comedy series.
30:13
SPEAKER_04: Uh I think in college is when I really went back and caught up on every episode, and I've seen a lot of the stuff since.
30:20
SPEAKER_04: I won't pretend to uh to say I still watch it every week, but I will go back and watch some of the older episodes.
30:26
SPEAKER_04: I gotta take South Park here.
30:28
SPEAKER_03: Son of a bitch.
30:30
SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
30:31
SPEAKER_03: That's a that's a heavy.
30:35
SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I mean it's not on my board just because I'm not I'm not I haven't seen enough of it again.
30:40
SPEAKER_02: I fall into that boat, but it's one that I appreciate its place.
30:43
SPEAKER_02: It was gonna be a high pick in this draft.
30:44
SPEAKER_02: I think third round's actually good value.
30:47
SPEAKER_04: Just couldn't couldn't not take it there.
30:49
SPEAKER_04: I I I honestly thought Jake was going to take it at some point, and I was going to allow him to.
30:54
SPEAKER_04: But once we get, you know, once we get into the heart of this thing, South Park's gotta come off the board.
31:00
SPEAKER_04: Uh, just what what they've been able, what Trey and Matt have been able to do for uh 20 plus years in this space where they can churn out episodes with current commentary on on a relatively uh quick basis is truly unbelievable.
31:16
SPEAKER_04: Like I said, I don't watch every episode anymore.
31:18
SPEAKER_04: Uh you know, I'm a 31-year-old with a kid.
31:20
SPEAKER_04: The uh the humor's probably not supposed to be as much for me anymore, but for for 20 plus years, it's just been banger after banger.
31:28
SPEAKER_04: Um, you know, at the Al Gore episode, Al Gore's internet uh is something that I just say very often, and people look at me like I have six heads because they probably haven't watched South Park.
31:38
SPEAKER_04: But uh shout out, man, bear pig.
31:41
SPEAKER_03: Love I was hoping it was gonna drop this round to take it, but yeah, Jeff, like high school and college, it was because it was relevant to what was going on in the world, like that, at least in a two-week you know, span.
31:57
SPEAKER_03: And I think when season four hit, that's when they started getting into that like social commentary.
32:04
SPEAKER_03: Um, but also Randy Marsh probably is up there with one of the best side characters in all of television.
32:11
SPEAKER_03: He's the best anything that revolves around him is absolutely hysterical.
32:16
SPEAKER_03: Darn it, I was really hoping that was gonna fall to me.
32:19
SPEAKER_01: Oh, well, I have no is it back to me here, correct?
32:23
SPEAKER_01: It is yes, sir.
32:25
SPEAKER_01: Alright, I have no, I have like a list of about seven shows that I could go with here, and so I am just shooting, shooting from the hip and you know, pointing at one, spinning them in a circle, then pointing at one.
32:38
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go I'm gonna go with maybe a little bit of an underrated pick.
32:43
SPEAKER_01: This one might tank my draft, but it is what it is.
32:45
SPEAKER_01: Uh in terms of shows that make you laugh out loud, uh, Brooklyn 9-9 was an absolute, I mean, Jake Peralta, Captain Ray Holt, um, you know, the dynamics with Amy, and then uh Terry Cruz's character, uh Gina Linetti, the character is a is a hysterical, uh, hysterical, hysterical addition.
33:13
SPEAKER_01: I uh I loved the show.
33:15
SPEAKER_01: And and like I said, when I think about like, you know, where Friends maybe was like kind of quirky funny.
33:21
SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, this one it is also quirky, but man, I I laughed a ton for this one.
33:27
SPEAKER_01: And while I I I didn't watch the last few seasons, it is definitely uh up there for me in terms of comedies that I really enjoyed.
33:35
SPEAKER_01: Uh, but you know, I'm sure you all are gonna list off about four or five that you know are are probably on the same boat.
33:42
SPEAKER_01: But um, yeah, just seeing cops in a funny light again, especially I think when when it was kind of produced, I think was you know uh also a pretty impressive thing to do.
33:54
SPEAKER_03: I got I've seen a bunch of clips.
33:56
SPEAKER_02: I I've seen clips online.
33:59
SPEAKER_02: Number five killed my brother.
34:00
SPEAKER_02: That's what that's the clip I know.
34:02
SPEAKER_02: It was when they sing I want it that way by the backstreet boys.
34:05
SPEAKER_02: Number five killed my brother.
34:06
SPEAKER_02: Number five, number five, killed my brother.
34:08
SPEAKER_02: That's that's the only thing I know about it.
34:11
SPEAKER_01: Probably reach, but you know, we we will uh survive, you know.
34:16
SPEAKER_01: Sometimes you gotta battle.
34:17
SPEAKER_02: Hey, yeah.
34:17
SPEAKER_03: Stay true.
34:19
SPEAKER_02: I just stayed true to yourself there and didn't pander with friends.
34:22
SPEAKER_02: I love that.
34:23
SPEAKER_02: That's gross.
34:24
SPEAKER_02: That's character growth.
34:26
SPEAKER_01: Says King Pander from the last the last uh the last king.
34:29
SPEAKER_02: King Pander.
34:30
SPEAKER_01: The panda.
34:31
SPEAKER_02: I was just king, I was King Basic because I didn't see as as many as you guys, so I was forced to just take the shows everybody's seen.
34:37
SPEAKER_02: But no, I I've heard really good things about this one.
34:40
SPEAKER_02: I have not seen it myself.
34:42
SPEAKER_02: I know that famous clip of them singing I want it that way, but I I do like like Andy Sandberg a good bit, so I I'm assuming I would like this one.
34:49
SPEAKER_02: I just haven't dove into it yet.
34:51
SPEAKER_03: Okay, uh it's me.
34:54
SPEAKER_03: Me?
34:54
SPEAKER_03: Um right?
34:56
SPEAKER_03: It is me.
34:56
SPEAKER_03: Yes, yes.
34:58
SPEAKER_03: I think in this four-person draft we'd have the order down with you two, but hey.
35:03
SPEAKER_03: Listen, it's tough counting to four.
35:06
SPEAKER_03: Um let's see.
35:07
SPEAKER_03: That's why I teach English.
35:08
SPEAKER_03: Uh that's why I teach social studies, brother.
35:11
SPEAKER_03: All right.
35:12
SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go with Parks and Rec.
35:17
SPEAKER_03: Um, and that is again getting into that one.
35:22
SPEAKER_03: I was like, ah, it's a it's an office knockoff.
35:26
SPEAKER_03: I the thing is, I think what's the huge difference is you care about the characters so much more, I think, in Parks and Rec and how they're going to end up.
35:35
SPEAKER_03: Where like in the office, yeah, you have Jim and Pam, you have Michael, like that you care about, but everyone else is a side character.
35:43
SPEAKER_03: Where in Parks and Rec, I feel like everyone has a story um at some point.
35:50
SPEAKER_03: And they this is another show it I think that wraps up beautifully.
35:54
SPEAKER_03: Um, extremely charming.
35:57
SPEAKER_03: Uh, love it.
35:58
SPEAKER_03: And Sean, I just want to let you know this.
36:00
SPEAKER_03: I watched this show during COVID.
36:02
SPEAKER_03: So I just want to let you know that I did that as well.
36:05
SPEAKER_03: Naturally.
36:06
SPEAKER_04: Jake, what shows have you had you seen prior to 2020?
36:09
SPEAKER_04: Just a lot.
36:14
SPEAKER_03: Not a lot.
36:16
SPEAKER_03: Not a lot.
36:17
SPEAKER_02: Uh it's a great pick.
36:19
SPEAKER_03: And I think that you're a person who watched it during COVID too.
36:23
SPEAKER_03: Yes.
36:23
SPEAKER_03: I just watched sports all day.
36:25
SPEAKER_03: Just everything.
36:26
SPEAKER_01: I was I wasn't taking in a lot uh a lot of other media.
36:29
SPEAKER_01: If I was a true pander, if I if I was uh true to my these pandering allegations, that's the the pick that I would have taken, uh Sean.
36:38
SPEAKER_01: However, I decided to I decided to to live by my code, uh the code that Jeff and I had said about you know not uh picking shows that we haven't seen like 75% of it.
36:49
SPEAKER_01: So I decided to I decided to be a man of honor.
36:52
SPEAKER_02: Um I will say I'm glad Joe didn't get this one on his board because his board would have had some real pop if he was rolling out Friends New Girl, Parks and Rec.
37:05
SPEAKER_02: He would have got every female vote.
37:07
SPEAKER_02: So I'm I'm really I'm really happy that he didn't take that one and he might have reached for Brooklyn 99.
37:13
SPEAKER_02: Joe, I'm glad also you stayed true to yourself.
37:15
SPEAKER_02: Jake, I also don't think this is a panda.
37:16
SPEAKER_02: This is a great pick, and it really hurts my board.
37:19
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, great pick.
37:20
SPEAKER_04: Nice is tough.
37:23
SPEAKER_04: Ron Swanson's uh an elite character, yes, yes, absolutely.
37:28
SPEAKER_03: Big April Ludgate fan.
37:30
SPEAKER_03: Yep.
37:31
SPEAKER_03: Andy, Andy, Leslie, even Les like Leslie 2.
37:36
SPEAKER_03: Uh, they're all great.
37:38
SPEAKER_03: Like you just care about all the characters in there.
37:40
SPEAKER_03: I'll take all the bacon and eggs you have.
37:42
SPEAKER_02: No, I don't think you heard me.
37:43
SPEAKER_02: I'll take all the bacon and eggs you have.
37:44
SPEAKER_02: That's it's so great.
37:48
SPEAKER_01: I think this one, this one fell victim to it was one of those things that everybody and their brother and sister was quoting Ron Swanson to the to the point where I was like, okay, I haven't seen the show.
38:01
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, shut the fuck up about Ron fucking Swanson.
38:05
SPEAKER_01: And I I I kind of silently protested, not watching it, even though does the show take place in Indiana?
38:13
SPEAKER_01: Yes, it does.
38:15
SPEAKER_04: What did you what did your uh civil unrest, your silent protest, uh what did that do to the show?
38:21
SPEAKER_01: Nothing, nothing.
38:22
SPEAKER_01: I was just being stubborn as hell because oh god, that's why I wasn't breaking mad for a while.
38:27
SPEAKER_01: Everybody wouldn't shut the fuck up about breaking mad.
38:30
SPEAKER_01: And so I was like, no, I haven't fucking seen it.
38:33
SPEAKER_04: Uh I'd be a lot, I'd be lying if I said I haven't done that before.
38:37
SPEAKER_02: I'm not sure we should allow this one on your board.
38:39
SPEAKER_02: I thought you were doing Pennsylvania only.
38:41
SPEAKER_03: I know, right?
38:42
SPEAKER_03: Um listen, whenever I see a miniature horse to this day, I say, oh look, it's little Sebasti Lil Sebastian.
38:50
SPEAKER_03: You know, your 10,000 candles in the wind.
38:53
SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah.
38:55
SPEAKER_03: I mean, great, great series.
38:56
SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
38:57
SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
38:58
SPEAKER_02: Oh boy, you really put me in a pickle here.
39:01
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna take one that I I love and it might be a reach.
39:05
SPEAKER_02: I'm going right down what Joe with Joe what Joe just said.
39:08
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna go with the rest of development.
39:11
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you're at all.
39:13
SPEAKER_00: Good pick.
39:13
SPEAKER_02: Okay, great pick.
39:15
SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
39:16
SPEAKER_02: I was hoping you guys had seen it, but I wasn't sure.
39:19
SPEAKER_02: I didn't want to hear crickets, so I'm really glad I have some strength and numbers on this one.
39:24
SPEAKER_02: I think this show is piss your pants funny.
39:27
SPEAKER_02: The the cast of characters that surround Jason Bateman and then his dry sarcastic humor, it is perfect.
39:34
SPEAKER_02: A weird show, too, because of just how it came out with the big break, and then they still, I thought they did nail the landing.
39:41
SPEAKER_02: I thought they got it back on track even after that time off.
39:45
SPEAKER_02: It wasn't as good as the original, in my opinion, but it was still solid.
39:48
SPEAKER_02: So I'm happy to have the rest of development on my board.
39:50
SPEAKER_02: Amazing pick.
39:51
SPEAKER_04: Tyler Myers rolling over in his grave on the Jason Bateman love there.
39:56
SPEAKER_03: Oh, uh, brother, brother Tyler doesn't love Jason Bateman.
40:01
SPEAKER_03: I might have lost his vote.
40:02
SPEAKER_04: I think that was definitely getting it with how I met your mother.
40:04
SPEAKER_04: I was gonna say, I think that was the conversation around Ozark, where he's like, Jason Bateman just plays himself all the time and is just bland and annoying.
40:12
SPEAKER_04: Uh that also could have been a Taylor take.
40:14
SPEAKER_04: I can't remember which one it was, but I've had this conversation with them.
40:18
SPEAKER_03: He's not overly wrong though, because Jason Bateman is kind of in arrested development, he is kind of just playing himself around again absurdity that is his family.
40:28
SPEAKER_03: Um there's always listen, Sean, there's always money in the banana stand.
40:33
SPEAKER_04: The uh the conversation between Lindsay and Tobias about the open relationship and how people delude themselves into thinking it might work.
40:41
SPEAKER_04: No, it never does, but it might work for us.
40:45
SPEAKER_03: That is the best meme for um for like sports with like coaches, general management.
40:56
SPEAKER_03: It's it's it's an evergreen meme for sports management.
41:01
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, picking Kenn State as a top five team never works, but it might for us.
41:06
SPEAKER_03: Might work, it might work for us.
41:08
SPEAKER_03: Um but no, great pick.
41:11
SPEAKER_03: Great pick by Sean.
41:13
SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
41:14
SPEAKER_02: I do have another one now.
41:16
SPEAKER_02: And this one we might have a veto.
41:18
SPEAKER_02: I just want to get out ahead of it.
41:20
SPEAKER_04: Oh I'm gonna go.
41:22
SPEAKER_04: Getting ahead of a veto is never a good way to get me to not veto.
41:25
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
41:26
SPEAKER_02: I thought that would provide some transparency and honesty.
41:28
SPEAKER_02: I wasn't trying to sneak it past you.
41:31
SPEAKER_02: I will throw the heater by me, buddy.
41:33
SPEAKER_02: I'm sitting curveball.
41:35
SPEAKER_02: I will take Boy Meets World.
41:37
SPEAKER_02: That's a great pick.
41:38
SPEAKER_03: It's on my list, it was on my board.
41:40
SPEAKER_03: Okay, nope.
41:41
SPEAKER_02: I didn't know if it would come up in a traditional comedy section of a streaming service like we talked about, Jeff, but it's a there's nothing else that it is.
41:49
SPEAKER_02: There's drama elements, but it's a comedy, it's a coming-of-age comedy, and it was my show when I was younger.
41:55
SPEAKER_02: That was what I would rush home from school to see Boy Meets World.
41:58
SPEAKER_02: Philadelphia fans, unfortunately, Corey Matthews, big Phillies fan, they stink.
42:05
SPEAKER_02: But Topanga was the love of my life.
42:08
SPEAKER_02: And I'm happy that I have Topanga on my board, and none of you guys do.
42:12
SPEAKER_02: So when I sleep tonight, I'm gonna think I got Topanga, you guys didn't.
42:15
SPEAKER_03: I was hoping it would slip to the last round so I could take it for my all Pennsylvania team that I'm trying to build over here, apparently.
42:23
SPEAKER_03: Um Sean, it is one of the shows that you grew, like you grow as the characters grow, and the show also grew.
42:31
SPEAKER_03: So like it started as a kid's show when they're little kids, then it turned into like a teen comedy on like ABC Family when we're 12 and 13 years old.
42:40
SPEAKER_03: Um, but yeah, it's amazing uh show to come home like after school, middle school, watch Boy Meets World, or like in the summer on a rainy day, like Boy Meets World's on.
42:52
SPEAKER_03: Um Sean, that's fantastic, fantastic take.
42:56
SPEAKER_03: It was on my board as well as like a as like a uh kid's sitcom type genre.
43:02
SPEAKER_04: It's a great round for Jacob.
43:04
SPEAKER_01: Jake are convincing everybody to vote for Sean.
43:06
SPEAKER_01: Jesus.
43:07
SPEAKER_01: Jesus.
43:09
SPEAKER_02: Listen, books.
43:11
SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
43:11
SPEAKER_02: That's what Honest Man does.
43:12
SPEAKER_03: There's not this agenda, this propaganda from Joe.
43:16
SPEAKER_03: Men, hey, we're men of honor.
43:18
SPEAKER_03: Men of honor, Joe.
43:19
SPEAKER_03: We're men of honor.
43:23
SPEAKER_01: There's probably a side deal to maintain this whole, you know, Sean is the king of the freaking castle over here.
43:30
SPEAKER_04: Podcast boys versus the non-podcast boys.
43:33
SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
43:34
SPEAKER_03: That's right.
43:35
SPEAKER_03: So it's back to me.
43:37
SPEAKER_03: Indeed, Jake.
43:38
SPEAKER_03: We can confirm you doing that.
43:39
SPEAKER_03: You figured out the snake.
43:40
SPEAKER_03: You're back, buddy.
43:41
SPEAKER_03: That's how that's how this that's how drafts work.
43:43
SPEAKER_03: Um spoil it for the listeners as well.
43:46
SPEAKER_03: Joe, you're up after Jake.
43:47
SPEAKER_03: Jake's gonna take signs out here.
43:50
SPEAKER_03: So I'm gonna go.
43:55
SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go with Malcolm in the middle.
43:58
SPEAKER_03: Wow.
43:59
SPEAKER_03: Um It might be a reach, a huge show for uh my brother and I.
44:07
SPEAKER_03: I guess brothers, I guess Luke was around for when we watch it too, I guess.
44:12
SPEAKER_03: But I loved how it was a show, because like back then it was like shows about like you had like the seventh heavens and you had like the drama shows of like the like all the like white picket fence families, and like Malcolm in the Middle was their their family was totally dysfunctional and chaos.
44:32
SPEAKER_03: I loved it.
44:32
SPEAKER_03: We were kind of introduced to Brian Cranston for the first time, and his like Hal, one of the best TV dads out there.
44:40
SPEAKER_03: Um, the dynamic with the brothers, but love Malcolm in the Middle.
44:45
SPEAKER_03: Saw it during not COVID resyndication while I was in high school.
44:50
SPEAKER_03: Okay, so I was on this earlier, but uh love the dynamic of a just dysfunctional family trying to make it.
44:58
SPEAKER_03: So do love Malcolm in the Middle.
45:00
SPEAKER_04: I like it.
45:01
SPEAKER_04: It was lower on my board.
45:02
SPEAKER_04: I probably have seen somewhere in the ballpark of 50 to 75 percent of it.
45:08
SPEAKER_04: Dewey is an unbelievable character.
45:10
SPEAKER_01: Oh, the best.
45:11
SPEAKER_01: Yes, he is.
45:13
SPEAKER_01: It was uh I would not say it was on my board.
45:16
SPEAKER_02: Was not, Joe?
45:17
SPEAKER_02: No, no.
45:19
SPEAKER_02: That's the same for me.
45:19
SPEAKER_02: It wasn't on mine either, but it I was about to say we're gonna see the point in the draft now, I think, where it gets into personal preference.
45:25
SPEAKER_02: And it's not to say that there's bad picks, there just might be some gaps in each other's boards.
45:28
SPEAKER_02: I've heard good things about Malcolm in the middle, and I did know your family was big on that, Jake.
45:32
SPEAKER_02: So hey, listen, staying true to your guns.
45:35
SPEAKER_02: I I love it.
45:36
SPEAKER_03: Yep.
45:37
SPEAKER_03: Hey, staying true to me.
45:38
SPEAKER_03: I'm not trying to pander like some people.
45:40
SPEAKER_03: No.
45:40
SPEAKER_03: I'm trying, I'm sticking to my I'm sticking to my heart.
45:43
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Jake, Jake, you're probably gonna message the whole fam and have make sure that, make sure that, make sure your whole family vote.
45:48
SPEAKER_01: Make sure we're voting.
45:51
SPEAKER_01: Do you see this?
45:52
SPEAKER_03: Listen, my parents don't know how to my parents don't know how to work the internet, okay?
45:55
SPEAKER_01: So I can't get them.
45:56
SPEAKER_01: Um, Sean, uh, I just as a reminder, how many picks do we are we gonna get through here?
46:01
SPEAKER_01: Five or six?
46:02
SPEAKER_01: Six.
46:02
SPEAKER_01: Six.
46:03
SPEAKER_01: Six, okay.
46:03
SPEAKER_01: Cool.
46:05
SPEAKER_01: Just like the syllabus you pass out at the beginning of the year.
46:08
SPEAKER_01: I was already asked about asking chirped about asking the question pre-show, and you know, two of the three uh other people in the audience were like, wow, Joe, great question.
46:17
SPEAKER_01: Unlike unlike my dear friend.
46:24
SPEAKER_03: It's it's it's family, actually.
46:27
SPEAKER_01: It's actually family.
46:28
SPEAKER_01: I don't know why.
46:29
SPEAKER_01: I'm I feel I feel hostile today.
46:31
SPEAKER_01: I don't know why.
46:32
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
46:33
SPEAKER_01: I'm trying to.
46:34
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna roll with I'm gonna roll with community.
46:37
SPEAKER_01: Uh hilarious show.
46:40
SPEAKER_01: Talk about a star study cast.
46:42
SPEAKER_01: I mean, uh Joel McHale, Allison Bree, Jillian Jacobs, Donald Glover, um, Chevy Chase, like, you know, amongst a bunch of others.
46:51
SPEAKER_01: I can just Troy and Obed in the morning.
46:54
SPEAKER_01: Like Troy and Obed in the morning, just over and over again.
46:58
SPEAKER_01: I could just think of it playing the dynamics between Jeff and Britta were all were very funny.
47:04
SPEAKER_01: Um Shirley was a great side character that brought, I think, a lot of you know, brought a lot of laughs into it.
47:11
SPEAKER_01: And so I uh you know, I I think it was a little strange after it was it went away and then came back.
47:17
SPEAKER_01: I don't even know where it restreamed for those last couple seasons.
47:21
SPEAKER_01: Um but I think uh at its at it at its best, it was funny, really, really funny.
47:27
SPEAKER_01: And I think the concept of a community college too is also uh a really great play.
47:32
SPEAKER_01: So yeah, community for me for sure.
47:34
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
47:35
SPEAKER_03: Loved community.
47:37
SPEAKER_03: I I when Donald Glover left and like Troy and Abbott, like again, one of the best duos on TV.
47:45
SPEAKER_03: Um, one of the funniest.
47:47
SPEAKER_03: I think one once he left, I was and then they were like Mike from Breaking Bad joins the show, and then like they get a couple others, and I'm it just wasn't the same.
47:57
SPEAKER_03: Ken Zhang was like a bigger character.
48:00
SPEAKER_03: I kind of fell off it towards the end, but those first like three or four seasons were laugh out loud, funny.
48:08
SPEAKER_03: The Dean, too, hilarious side character.
48:11
SPEAKER_02: But yeah, good good pick, Joe.
48:13
SPEAKER_02: It was on my board.
48:14
SPEAKER_02: Joe, I was debating that with my last pick.
48:16
SPEAKER_02: I think that's a strong one.
48:17
SPEAKER_02: I agree with Jake.
48:18
SPEAKER_02: I didn't even finish it, I don't think, but those first three or four seasons would I would stack up with a lot of comedy.
48:23
SPEAKER_02: So I really enjoyed them.
48:24
SPEAKER_02: And I think the blend of characters and how they interacted at a community college was new to me.
48:28
SPEAKER_02: I hadn't seen anything like that before, so that I think that's a really good pick.
48:32
SPEAKER_04: Board for two.
48:35
SPEAKER_04: This is where it gets tough.
48:36
SPEAKER_04: I got I still have a long list.
48:38
SPEAKER_04: You guys have taken a lot of shows that I've seen some of, but not enough of to put on the board.
48:43
SPEAKER_04: So you've not made this easy on me.
48:46
SPEAKER_04: But uh, but like I said, I'm staying true.
48:49
SPEAKER_04: Uh we're going we're gonna tie this in with my first pick.
48:52
SPEAKER_04: We're going uh Julia Louis Dreyfus Veep.
48:56
SPEAKER_04: Amazing.
48:58
SPEAKER_02: Yep, Jeff, that was that was next for me.
49:01
SPEAKER_02: Good pick.
49:03
SPEAKER_04: I mean Jonah's Jonah might be the funniest character in the last 15 years of TV.
49:11
SPEAKER_04: So funny, man.
49:12
SPEAKER_04: Timothy Simon's just unbelievable in that role.
49:15
SPEAKER_04: Obviously, um JLD as an absolute moron of a vice president and then eventually president.
49:24
SPEAKER_04: Um horrible, horrible human being, but every episode of that show is funny.
49:31
SPEAKER_04: The the different characters, the characters who are in the show the entire time stay funny, the characters that come in and out of the show, just an unbelievable comedy.
49:41
SPEAKER_04: Um, riding with with HBO with Eastbound and Down and Veep.
49:45
SPEAKER_04: Uh in my in my eyes, uh probably I think I have it top five of all time.
49:53
SPEAKER_02: The way they treat Mike McClintock, I I first of all, I love Mike.
49:57
SPEAKER_02: His his deadpan dumb humor, it gets me.
50:01
SPEAKER_02: And the way they treat him on an episode basis, it's it's so good.
50:04
SPEAKER_02: I love Veeep.
50:05
SPEAKER_02: Now I was late to this one.
50:07
SPEAKER_02: This was probably a COVID watch for me, but I really, really enjoyed it.
50:12
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, anytime Jonah comes in, is immediate like I just laugh out loud, funny.
50:19
SPEAKER_03: And then um, I don't know, Tony, I forget Tony Hale's name, uh, the bald guy, but he's like the ass kisser.
50:27
SPEAKER_03: Um he's in a rested development as well.
50:29
SPEAKER_03: Also funny in that.
50:30
SPEAKER_03: He's hilarious character, but yeah, he's Gary.
50:34
SPEAKER_01: Great Gary.
50:35
SPEAKER_01: Gary, Gary.
50:37
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, hilarious, hilarious pick.
50:39
SPEAKER_01: This was one that Jeff, I I I wanted, but I it's one of those shows that you watch and you really enjoy, and then it's just you just fall off.
50:46
SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
50:47
SPEAKER_01: It's just you picked something else up, and then you just never made your way back to it.
50:51
SPEAKER_01: But as I was looking at some people's lists, I was like, man, that's one that uh I probably should have finished, and I know someone's gonna take it, and I and I feel regret.
51:00
SPEAKER_04: Alright, so now on onto the fifth round.
51:03
SPEAKER_04: Uh, again, in a bit of a spot here where I have about 10 shows I would really like to draft.
51:09
SPEAKER_04: Um, but again, I'm sticking true to who I am.
51:14
SPEAKER_04: I'm probably the only person in this group who who would take this show.
51:17
SPEAKER_04: I could wait until the last pick of the draft and and blow it up and make him Mr.
51:21
SPEAKER_04: Relevant, but I'm not gonna do that because that's not true to who I am.
51:25
SPEAKER_04: So Pitter Patter, let's get at her.
51:27
SPEAKER_04: I'm taking Letter Kenny.
51:28
SPEAKER_04: I think Letter Kenny is the best comedy of the the past eight to ten years.
51:35
SPEAKER_04: Wow.
51:36
SPEAKER_04: It's aggressively Canadian and it is unbelievable.
51:41
SPEAKER_04: Jared Keiso, uh, I would love to be able to pair this with Shoresy because Shoresy's so freaking good too.
51:48
SPEAKER_04: Um, but Letter Kenny is what started it all.
51:51
SPEAKER_04: Letter Kenny's the reason that Shortsy exists, so I'm rocking with Letter Kenny.
51:56
SPEAKER_04: Um six episode seasons, 25-minute episodes.
52:00
SPEAKER_04: You can absolutely breeze through it, and and I've watched it through so many times over the last couple of years.
52:05
SPEAKER_03: I've I've seen a couple episodes, but not enough to, but it is hilarious.
52:10
SPEAKER_03: I do love it, but I just haven't seen enough of it to feel good about putting it out there.
52:17
SPEAKER_01: Jeff, Jeff, what's the reach of this?
52:18
SPEAKER_01: Because I'll I'll say this.
52:19
SPEAKER_01: It feels like one of those cult shows where I have two or three friends that have also watched it that have your same exact take that it's you know arguably the best comedy out there, but I also don't know a ton of people that have watched it.
52:35
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I I think it's I think it's hit or miss.
52:38
SPEAKER_04: Um, I mean, it's a a decade-old show that gets released on Crave, which is a Canadian network every year, a couple of weeks before it makes its way to Hulu.
52:49
SPEAKER_04: Um so there there is that part of it.
52:52
SPEAKER_04: Um I have a handful of friends and and family members who who have watched this show and also love it, but it's definitely fewer, uh, fewer and far between than than your traditional kind of network sitcoms and comedies.
53:08
SPEAKER_04: But I if I'm being true to myself, it would be like two or three on my board.
53:13
SPEAKER_04: So I I could not take it.
53:14
SPEAKER_02: Jeff, I've seen nothing of the show.
53:16
SPEAKER_02: I've barely even heard of it.
53:17
SPEAKER_02: Some of the words you were saying, I think, might have been in a different language, but I will say I'm proud of you for sticking to your guns.
53:23
SPEAKER_02: I'm proud of you for sticking to your guns.
53:24
SPEAKER_01: Get out of here, squirrely Dan.
53:26
SPEAKER_01: Squirrely beat.
53:27
SPEAKER_01: I uh I'm gonna go talking about sticking true to your guns, and there might be some pushback here, so we'll see if we get we'll see if we uh have some vetoes, but um I'm gonna go Ted Lasso.
53:41
SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
53:42
SPEAKER_01: It's great, good pick.
53:43
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was on the board.
53:44
SPEAKER_01: Fine pick.
53:45
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think it's definitely in the dramedy cat like category.
53:50
SPEAKER_01: I will say, as Jeff's here swaying back and forth.
53:53
SPEAKER_01: No, it's good.
53:53
SPEAKER_01: It's good.
53:54
SPEAKER_04: It's it's same ballpark as Boy Meets World.
53:56
SPEAKER_04: Jeff, you want to talk veto?
53:57
SPEAKER_02: I'll talk veto and take off his board.
53:59
SPEAKER_02: I'll talk it.
53:59
SPEAKER_02: I don't won't I won't throw the word around.
54:01
SPEAKER_02: Listen, you know, I lose I'm I'll put it in my suggestion box.
54:06
SPEAKER_02: If you have material prepared in favor of a veto, I would certainly hear it.
54:10
SPEAKER_02: I don't believe can I say my spiel first?
54:14
SPEAKER_02: Can I just say real quick, Joe?
54:16
SPEAKER_02: I love the show.
54:17
SPEAKER_02: I think it's a great show.
54:18
SPEAKER_02: I would have picked it next if it came back to me.
54:21
SPEAKER_02: And you would not hear the word veto mentioned once.
54:23
SPEAKER_02: But let me this is a big butt.
54:27
SPEAKER_02: I don't laugh at the show too often.
54:30
SPEAKER_02: While I love it, I don't really find myself laughing at it.
54:33
SPEAKER_02: I think it's more so just a wholehearted great show than it is something I go back to to laugh at.
54:38
SPEAKER_02: Does that make sense?
54:40
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I think that is why that's what prevents it for me from being a you know first three-round pick.
54:48
SPEAKER_01: Um, I think it is a really good blend.
54:50
SPEAKER_01: Like, I I I don't know.
54:52
SPEAKER_01: I uh I am in terms of my comedy style or what I like comedy-wise, I like there to be quirky banter and funny things, and I do like there to be laughing, laugh out loud moments, but I also like for it to be kind of well-rounded.
55:06
SPEAKER_01: And so that's where I think the the you know, the the Ted Lasso kind of, you know, while they can be cheesy at times to kind of life uh tie-ins, I think for me make me really enjoy it.
55:17
SPEAKER_01: I do think also the overall premise of just that this originated from a freaking TV, this originated from a TV commercial.
55:25
SPEAKER_01: Um, it is just uh an absurd, the whole premise is just absurd.
55:30
SPEAKER_01: And uh so uh I I do think the the framing uh of just the show itself, I think is is pretty just funny and comical.
55:38
SPEAKER_01: Coach Beard, I think, is is a a hilarious character.
55:42
SPEAKER_01: Uh there are so many small moments.
55:44
SPEAKER_01: Well, I know, wonder why.
55:46
SPEAKER_01: I hate to see it.
55:47
SPEAKER_01: Uh, but yeah, uh I'm I'm a big fan.
55:50
SPEAKER_01: I uh I speaking of COVID shows with Jake, uh, you know, I disagree with the the the conversation that it that COVID helped bring it to its its peak popularity, but I uh I love it.
56:02
SPEAKER_01: Love it, love it.
56:04
SPEAKER_04: How was the third season?
56:05
SPEAKER_04: I haven't seen the third season yet.
56:07
SPEAKER_01: I would say good.
56:09
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
56:09
SPEAKER_01: Good doesn't live up to the other two.
56:11
SPEAKER_02: I would agree.
56:12
SPEAKER_03: Yep, same.
56:13
SPEAKER_02: I would agree with that as well.
56:14
SPEAKER_02: I would just circle back to my point.
56:15
SPEAKER_02: I I think it's a great show.
56:17
SPEAKER_02: As far as a comedy show, I think it's good.
56:20
SPEAKER_02: I smile more than I laugh out loud at it, but it was on my board now.
56:24
SPEAKER_02: Like I said, I was gonna take it next.
56:25
SPEAKER_02: So I couldn't in good faith throw the veto out there.
56:27
SPEAKER_02: Although I would love to take it off your board, Joe.
56:32
SPEAKER_02: I like great value, Joe.
56:34
SPEAKER_02: I think it's great value.
56:35
SPEAKER_02: Jake, I'm very worried about you taking mine here.
56:37
SPEAKER_03: So I just want to preface that.
56:39
SPEAKER_03: So again, uh going with a show that I think is an easy rewatch.
56:43
SPEAKER_03: Didn't really watch it when it came out because I think I was I was probably a little too young.
56:48
SPEAKER_03: No, I was just I was too young, and I just caught it back on resyndication uh in high school and in college.
56:55
SPEAKER_03: But uh personal favorite of mine, that 70 show.
56:58
SPEAKER_04: Okay.
56:59
SPEAKER_04: It's on my board, it's a good pick.
57:01
SPEAKER_04: That's a good one.
57:02
SPEAKER_03: Loves that that 70 show again.
57:04
SPEAKER_03: Uh pretty easy watch.
57:05
SPEAKER_03: There are some like you know, touching moments in there, some like drama moments in there, but for the most part, it's you know, it's a it's a fun comedy about friends that are in high school or just out of high school.
57:17
SPEAKER_03: So, but yeah, that 70 show, absolutely love it.
57:21
SPEAKER_03: Ah, red's the best.
57:23
SPEAKER_03: Red is the best, dude.
57:24
SPEAKER_03: Red is the best.
57:27
SPEAKER_03: And like just him and Toper, like um Eric, like their banter back and forth is um probably like my favorite.
57:37
SPEAKER_03: And oh, kitty, also one of the best TV moms out there.
57:42
SPEAKER_04: When my sister adopted her cat, I tried to convince her very hard to name it Kitty Foreman.
57:47
SPEAKER_03: Very nice.
57:48
SPEAKER_03: That would have been cool.
57:49
SPEAKER_04: I failed, I would have proved it, but I tried really hard.
57:52
SPEAKER_03: You tried.
57:52
SPEAKER_03: A try.
57:53
SPEAKER_03: That's a try.
57:56
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Jake, it's a good pick.
57:57
SPEAKER_02: It was it was near the end of my board just because I haven't revisited it in a while, but I enjoyed it when I watched it.
58:04
SPEAKER_02: So you're not gonna hear any gripes from me.
58:07
SPEAKER_02: All right.
58:08
SPEAKER_02: I have I have a longer list than I thought of at this point in the draft.
58:12
SPEAKER_02: I thought I was gonna get picked over.
58:13
SPEAKER_02: I only wrote 22 shows down, to be honest, and I thought with a six-round draft between four of us, I would be picked through.
58:20
SPEAKER_02: I've got plenty to go.
58:21
SPEAKER_02: There's room in the tank.
58:23
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna take one.
58:25
SPEAKER_02: I I don't know where we stand on this.
58:27
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna take one in HBO.
58:30
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna take Entourage.
58:32
SPEAKER_02: I think this one let me just say that.
58:36
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I had a I had a bit prepared.
58:38
SPEAKER_02: I was waiting for one of you to take it, and I was gonna hammer you with questions about the sexuation and the misogyny in the show.
58:46
SPEAKER_04: Because I was gonna I was gonna poke so many holes in whoever took this.
58:52
SPEAKER_04: Is that really what you would like to portray in 2026, Sean?
58:55
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's not it's not exactly aging great in terms of the humor, it's a bit raunchy and over the line in spots.
59:02
SPEAKER_02: I will say I think the intent of the show is pretty good.
59:05
SPEAKER_02: They're decent-hearted people, even if some rough decisions were made early on.
59:10
SPEAKER_02: But overall, I in terms of just laugh-out loud moments, if I'm sticking true to what I laugh at, this is right up my alley.
59:17
SPEAKER_02: Johnny Chase, Ari Gold, those two alone just they throw 102 on the black almost every scene that they're in.
59:26
SPEAKER_02: So somebody find Johnny Chase a fucking job by the end of the day, or you're fired.
59:31
SPEAKER_02: I just love I love Entourage and I'm happy to have it in the 50th.
59:34
SPEAKER_04: When Ari comes in with the paintball gun, unbelievable.
59:38
SPEAKER_04: The uh the the get the fuck out is probably the the is probably my favorite meme to use.
59:45
SPEAKER_02: It's a great meme.
59:46
SPEAKER_01: Very memeable show too, Victory.
59:48
SPEAKER_01: I I I I don't wanna I don't wanna glaze you like Jake was, but that's a that's a darn good pick.
59:54
SPEAKER_01: That's a darn good pick.
59:56
unknown: Thank you.
59:58
SPEAKER_03: I've I've only seen it in clips.
1:00:00
SPEAKER_03: I've never I've never watched it.
1:00:02
SPEAKER_03: Oh Jake, after the wire, I need to get you onto this.
1:00:06
SPEAKER_04: I think you'd like to.
1:00:08
SPEAKER_03: I got a lot of things to watch, man.
1:00:10
SPEAKER_04: We'll get you caught up the next time you're stuck in your house.
1:00:13
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you have 25 years worth of catching up to do.
1:00:18
SPEAKER_04: Well, he had to catch up for the first 25 years during COVID.
1:00:22
SPEAKER_04: I did.
1:00:22
SPEAKER_02: I tried.
1:00:24
SPEAKER_02: All right.
1:00:25
SPEAKER_02: My final pick, and so many good ones still out there.
1:00:31
SPEAKER_02: This this has the chance to tank me.
1:00:33
SPEAKER_02: This this has the chance, but I'm gonna stay true to myself again.
1:00:37
SPEAKER_02: And I'm gonna go with a show that has not landed the plane yet, still airing, and there hasn't even been that many episodes out of it.
1:00:44
SPEAKER_02: But it's another one that I think it's a wholehearted good show.
1:00:47
SPEAKER_02: I'm going shrinking.
1:00:49
SPEAKER_02: You're a scumbag.
1:00:50
SPEAKER_01: You're a scumbag.
1:00:51
SPEAKER_02: You're gonna have a freaking scumbag.
1:00:53
SPEAKER_02: I love it.
1:00:55
SPEAKER_02: I love it.
1:00:56
SPEAKER_02: Give me shrinking.
1:00:57
SPEAKER_02: I want all the Jason Siegel, I want all of the Kobe Smolders.
1:01:02
SPEAKER_02: I'm so happy to wrap up my draft with Shrinking.
1:01:04
SPEAKER_02: It's just a personal favorite for me.
1:01:05
SPEAKER_02: Harrison Ford is so good, he's hilarious.
1:01:08
SPEAKER_02: It's a great cast.
1:01:09
SPEAKER_02: Typically, these shows I don't even end up giving a chance to.
1:01:12
SPEAKER_02: These big budget, big star, new streaming only shows.
1:01:18
SPEAKER_02: Oh, I'm all in on shrinking and I I love it so much.
1:01:20
SPEAKER_02: So and based on Joe's reaction, I'm thrilled they took it just for that.
1:01:26
SPEAKER_03: I've heard very good, I've heard very good things.
1:01:29
SPEAKER_03: I've heard very good things.
1:01:33
SPEAKER_01: It's probably oh it's probably one of the best, you know, one of my favorite shows in the last couple years.
1:01:41
SPEAKER_01: I think there's all so many funny side characters.
1:01:45
SPEAKER_01: I hate to just freaking just just you know, give me a chance.
1:01:48
SPEAKER_02: So it sounds like maybe I can get your vote in this one.
1:01:51
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm so mad that you I'm so mad that you did that.
1:01:55
SPEAKER_01: You know, I'll say this though, Sean.
1:01:57
SPEAKER_01: You know, I find myself smiling a lot more than I do laughing.
1:02:02
SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, that really for me that really for me.
1:02:06
SPEAKER_01: Fair point.
1:02:07
SPEAKER_02: I do say that all the time.
1:02:09
SPEAKER_02: I did say that.
1:02:10
SPEAKER_02: Thank you, Jake.
1:02:10
SPEAKER_02: Jake, I'll tell you what, Jake, you're a real stand-up guy.
1:02:13
SPEAKER_02: And Joe Joe's has come back because I said that about this pick.
1:02:19
SPEAKER_03: Why would he do that?
1:02:20
SPEAKER_03: Why would he do that?
1:02:22
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I thought for sure I was getting that with my last pick.
1:02:25
SPEAKER_01: I thought for sure.
1:02:27
SPEAKER_01: No, I'm so happy I took it.
1:02:28
SPEAKER_02: That made me draft, whether you think so or not.
1:02:31
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna I'm gonna think about two things tonight.
1:02:32
SPEAKER_02: It's to penga and shrinking.
1:02:39
SPEAKER_02: Oh man.
1:02:40
SPEAKER_02: We're off on rails, Jake.
1:02:41
SPEAKER_02: Let's get us home.
1:02:42
SPEAKER_02: We have three picks left.
1:02:43
SPEAKER_03: All right, so here we go.
1:02:44
SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm gonna lose everyone with this pick.
1:02:47
SPEAKER_03: But again, uh the the the theme of this, I think, whole excursion we've all been on is we're being true to us.
1:02:55
SPEAKER_03: And again, this was the show.
1:02:59
SPEAKER_03: This was the show um that I I would see episodes that aired when I was a kid, like as they were happening, and then watched the whole thing on re-syndication uh when I was middle school, high school, and then I just got the box set.
1:03:15
SPEAKER_03: And then I'm talking about the Drew Carey show.
1:03:18
SPEAKER_03: Wow.
1:03:19
SPEAKER_03: Um it's I know it's a stretch for most people.
1:03:23
SPEAKER_03: I adored this show, and one of the things that I loved about it is they would leave.
1:03:31
SPEAKER_03: I know a shit's crew.
1:03:32
SPEAKER_03: Oh, sorry, I can't don't want to drop in other names, but I know other shows do this, but it was the first time I've ever seen a show where they kept the the people like the actors laughing in the show.
1:03:46
SPEAKER_03: Like I think a lot of times, like if a character's gonna make a joke about somebody else, no one else is really laughing at it.
1:03:53
SPEAKER_03: Where I felt like this show, like they kept the laughing in, so it like felt very natural.
1:03:58
SPEAKER_03: Um so anyway, I think it's a great sitcom.
1:04:02
SPEAKER_03: It kind of limped towards the finish line, but just for me, a personal pick, loved, absolutely loved the Drew Carey show.
1:04:11
SPEAKER_03: There's like from like first to the fifth season, I think our or maybe fourth season, are great television.
1:04:19
SPEAKER_03: So um, yeah, the Drew Carey show can't can't talk about it enough.
1:04:24
SPEAKER_03: Uh, I highly doubt did anyone ever see it?
1:04:27
SPEAKER_03: I have great theme song.
1:04:29
SPEAKER_03: Great.
1:04:29
SPEAKER_03: I mean, they had multiple great theme songs, five o'clock world and then Cleveland Rocks is the one everybody knows.
1:04:35
SPEAKER_00: Ohio!
1:04:36
SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, so anyway, love Drew Carey.
1:04:39
SPEAKER_02: Proud of you for Sick of Your Guns, Jake.
1:04:42
SPEAKER_02: Great draft.
1:04:42
SPEAKER_04: I would watch it on on cable when I was younger.
1:04:45
SPEAKER_04: I I cannot uh pretend to have seen a significant amount of the episodes.
1:04:50
SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
1:04:52
SPEAKER_04: But no, I loved it.
1:04:53
SPEAKER_04: What year did you watch the box sets?
1:04:55
SPEAKER_04: Because you know, you're probably caught up with DVDs around 2021.
1:04:59
SPEAKER_03: So it wouldn't be released because of copyright.
1:05:02
SPEAKER_03: So they just released it on box set.
1:05:05
SPEAKER_03: But like I I've seen it all before, like when I was in high school, probably like twice over.
1:05:10
SPEAKER_03: Um and then just found it as a box set.
1:05:14
SPEAKER_03: So I've been watching it.
1:05:16
SPEAKER_03: Um but great stuff.
1:05:18
SPEAKER_03: They I I don't want to go too far off the rails here, but they had an episode I thought was really cool where like there were mistakes in the show, and then you would have to like write down all the mistakes, send it to them, and then like someone won like I don't know, like 10 grand or something like that.
1:05:35
SPEAKER_03: If you caught like all the mistakes or whoever had the most.
1:05:38
SPEAKER_03: I thought it was like they would have like interactive stuff like that.
1:05:40
SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
1:05:41
SPEAKER_03: I thought it was cool.
1:05:42
SPEAKER_03: Sounds more like a highlights magazine.
1:05:46
SPEAKER_03: It was it was a highlights magazine as a TV show for like one every single season.
1:05:53
SPEAKER_03: That is true.
1:05:53
SPEAKER_03: Great pool there, Sean.
1:05:55
SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
1:05:56
SPEAKER_03: I loved reading highlights.
1:05:58
SPEAKER_03: Oh, that was a line of the set.
1:06:00
SPEAKER_03: It was the best time when I was in 12th grade reading highlights.
1:06:05
SPEAKER_01: All right.
1:06:05
SPEAKER_01: Well, for my last pick, or before my last pick, I just want to put out there, you know, I was catching slander for being Joey Zeitgeist last time, but Jake's Jake's resyndication uh counter is at four.
1:06:19
SPEAKER_01: Uh so put that out there.
1:06:25
SPEAKER_01: Uh, but I'm gonna go with one that I connect with because of my job as a teacher, and I'm sure Sean, now that he is uh a teacher as well, along with Jake, I'm sure they connect with it.
1:06:38
SPEAKER_01: But uh ABBA Elementary is has so perfectly pegged the challenges and the just truly just unreal moments that happen as a teacher that are just you just scratch your head and you're like, am I living in real life right now?
1:06:55
SPEAKER_01: Uh I wish that there was a high school edition because it would be even more, you know, I think it would be even funnier.
1:07:03
SPEAKER_01: But they uh they perfectly peg uh, you know, the the craziness of being a teacher, and I'm sure what it is to be an elementary teacher as well.
1:07:12
SPEAKER_01: And um, and I also think they make it really funny by also being like critical of just the absurdity that is our education system.
1:07:19
SPEAKER_01: So I appreciate that they like really peg a lot of the like critiques that can be had uh about uh about education as well, but it is funny, man.
1:07:28
SPEAKER_01: It is funny.
1:07:30
SPEAKER_01: Love Abbott.
1:07:32
SPEAKER_01: Good pick, good pick.
1:07:33
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Johan.
1:07:35
SPEAKER_02: No, yeah, I love it.
1:07:36
SPEAKER_02: I was thinking about it with shrinking, but I do prefer shrinking, but Abbott's great.
1:07:40
SPEAKER_02: And I think you nailed it too with the points that just really you they hit home.
1:07:45
SPEAKER_02: Some of this some of the stuff you see in there.
1:07:47
SPEAKER_02: I I enjoy Abbott a lot.
1:07:50
SPEAKER_04: Pretty disrespectful to skip over my six months as a substitute at Greater Nanny Coke area.
1:07:55
SPEAKER_04: Wow, true.
1:07:57
SPEAKER_01: I will say if I was if I would have pandered to to Jack's Weible, who I know listened to our last draft, I would have picked Mash as my as one of my uh as one of my six.
1:08:08
SPEAKER_01: But I I'm I'm a man of honor.
1:08:10
SPEAKER_01: Shout out Jack.
1:08:11
SPEAKER_01: Uh but you know, I did not pander for a vote.
1:08:13
SPEAKER_01: Just want to make that clear.
1:08:15
SPEAKER_03: Mash was on my list, just in case uh it was there in case of emergency.
1:08:19
SPEAKER_03: Shout out, Jack.
1:08:20
SPEAKER_02: I will say, Jack, hey, how about tune in for a couple other episodes?
1:08:23
SPEAKER_02: Joe's only on once every couple months, so one of my favorite humans.
1:08:29
SPEAKER_03: Jack's Libel, one of my favorite humans, but anyway.
1:08:32
SPEAKER_04: Bring us home, Jeff.
1:08:34
SPEAKER_04: A lot of different directions we could go here.
1:08:38
SPEAKER_04: I have 15 left on my board.
1:08:42
SPEAKER_04: But I'm gonna go with a show that in the moment and during the time that it was on air was about as a perfect encapsulation of that time as there could be.
1:08:55
SPEAKER_04: And now when you watch it, you know, X number of years later, is even funnier because they have to point out who the people making the cameos are.
1:09:03
SPEAKER_04: So I'm taking the league because look over there, it's Josh Cribs, kick returner for the Cleveland Browns.
1:09:12
SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
1:09:13
SPEAKER_02: Jeff, great pick.
1:09:15
SPEAKER_02: Great pick.
1:09:16
SPEAKER_02: I was it was on my board the whole time, and I just kept kicking it down the road because I was like, I don't know how that'll play now.
1:09:21
SPEAKER_02: I feel like a lot of people haven't seen it.
1:09:23
SPEAKER_02: But if I'm talking shows that make me laugh the most, the league is so high up there.
1:09:28
SPEAKER_02: I I mean the first three seasons of the league are every episode's piss your pants funny.
1:09:33
SPEAKER_04: Primo.
1:09:34
SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
1:09:36
SPEAKER_04: The uh the Yoba Goya episode, uh the episode where uh where Ruxin gets into a fight with Antonio Gates at the spa.
1:09:46
SPEAKER_04: Uh there it's it's that was really my introduction to Nick Kroll, who is obviously one of the funniest people in the world.
1:09:54
SPEAKER_04: Um and then just uh the whole dynamic of the characters from you know Pete and Kevin to Taco to Jetty, like Taco, um I there's never been a character like Taco, even though there are very, you know, there are plenty of shows with the stoner character, but he really he really takes it to a different uh a different fake intellectual level.
1:10:18
SPEAKER_04: So shout out to Taco.
1:10:19
SPEAKER_04: Uh, I'm going with the league to close us out here.
1:10:22
SPEAKER_03: Very nice.
1:10:23
SPEAKER_03: Love love taco.
1:10:25
SPEAKER_03: Still have him as my uh fantasy football name.
1:10:28
SPEAKER_03: Taco Stoner's Tacos.
1:10:30
SPEAKER_03: It's a great name.
1:10:31
SPEAKER_02: Still, and I hope you never change it.
1:10:35
SPEAKER_02: Our my uh league with my college friends, our last place trophy is still the Sacco Bowl.
1:10:40
SPEAKER_02: We have a Sacco Bowl each year.
1:10:42
SPEAKER_04: Shiva Kamini Somar Kondar Kron.
1:10:45
SPEAKER_02: That's right.
1:10:46
SPEAKER_04: The Super Bowl Shuffle commercial uh or music video that they do, and it has like ridiculous people because they obviously weren't getting stars.
1:10:54
SPEAKER_04: So like Ruxton having Brett Grimes there as the the Falcons representative for the Falcons defense to do the Shiva Bowl Shuffle, unbelievable.
1:11:03
SPEAKER_04: Good stuff, James.
1:11:07
SPEAKER_04: Shiva Kamini Soma Condar Khan.
1:11:10
SPEAKER_02: Hey, I'm happy it got drafted.
1:11:12
SPEAKER_02: It deserved it deserved a spot at the table here.
1:11:15
SPEAKER_02: Let's let's do honorable mentions.
1:11:17
SPEAKER_02: What did we miss?
1:11:18
SPEAKER_02: What was left on your board?
1:11:19
SPEAKER_02: Why don't we just start in the order we drafted?
1:11:23
SPEAKER_02: So maybe just a couple first out of instead of all 15 at once, Jeff, since you still have a whole draft basically worth six.
1:11:30
SPEAKER_04: I left Futurama on the cutting room table here, uh Fresh Prince of Bel Air, uh, and then a classic where I've seen a lot of the episodes, I've seen a lot of the clips, but I just felt in good conscience.
1:11:45
SPEAKER_04: I couldn't take cheers because there are so many episodes that I have not seen.
1:11:49
SPEAKER_04: Um, but I do have to give the shout-out to the line that Norm, you know, they when Norm died, they had all these cut-ups of all of his entrances into the bar, and they say, What you up to, Norm?
1:11:59
SPEAKER_04: And he goes, Uh, my ideal weight if I was 11 feet tall, and it's one of my one of my favorite uh quotes of all time.
1:12:05
SPEAKER_01: I think for me, I modern family was a surprise one.
1:12:10
SPEAKER_01: I thought somebody was gonna snag Modern Family.
1:12:12
SPEAKER_01: I thought at some of its peaks it was really, really funny.
1:12:17
SPEAKER_01: Uh also, I think maybe a little bit before its time, possibly as well.
1:12:21
SPEAKER_01: Uh, but that was funny.
1:12:22
SPEAKER_01: And then I would say the other one.
1:12:24
SPEAKER_01: Where's it at?
1:12:26
SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's kind of it's more dark comedy.
1:12:28
SPEAKER_01: I was unsure how it would land, but I loved Atlanta.
1:12:32
SPEAKER_01: I thought Atlanta was was very entertaining.
1:12:36
SPEAKER_01: Um, a really if we're talking like executing dark comedy really well, I thought that it was I thought that Donald Glover was a wrote a masterpiece.
1:12:44
SPEAKER_01: Uh Paperboy is a hilarious, hilarious character.
1:12:49
SPEAKER_01: Um, and so yeah, I was I I was considering that one with my last pick as well.
1:12:54
SPEAKER_04: Joe, I wrote down Barry kind of in that same dark comedy range, but I was a little unsure of as well.
1:13:02
SPEAKER_03: Um trying to see some of them.
1:13:04
SPEAKER_03: Uh I did have Chappelle, Chappelle show on there.
1:13:09
SPEAKER_03: Uh, you know, watched it a bunch, but again, only two seasons.
1:13:13
SPEAKER_03: Uh Shits Creek.
1:13:15
SPEAKER_03: Um I started getting into Bob's burgers.
1:13:19
SPEAKER_03: Uh, I think it's hilarious.
1:13:22
SPEAKER_03: Not again, not for the the draft, but was there.
1:13:26
SPEAKER_03: And then I also had some golden age ones.
1:13:28
SPEAKER_03: All in the family, uh, cheers, married with children, even I love Lucy.
1:13:34
SPEAKER_03: Just again, just in case I was feeling like a classic one to kind of pull out of my hat that I've seen a lot because of my grandparents.
1:13:41
SPEAKER_03: Um, and then oh, sitcom.
1:13:44
SPEAKER_03: I don't know if it's that funny, but like I feel like home improvement was like huge at one time, and I it was like just in my box.
1:13:54
SPEAKER_03: Um, but yeah, same with Simpsons as well.
1:13:59
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we have Simpsons should at least be mentioned in the episode, I'd say.
1:14:02
SPEAKER_03: So I'm glad you're gonna be able to do that.
1:14:04
SPEAKER_03: I've seen all the Halloween family guys, yeah.
1:14:07
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
1:14:08
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Jake, but I had Jake and Joe.
1:14:10
SPEAKER_02: I had a couple that you guys referenced.
1:14:12
SPEAKER_02: I had Shits Creek and Modern Family as my next two if the draft were to continue.
1:14:15
SPEAKER_02: And then also one, I don't know if anybody's seen it, Fleabag.
1:14:19
SPEAKER_02: I didn't know how it played out, but Fleabag's excellent.
1:14:22
SPEAKER_02: I just didn't think anybody had seen it.
1:14:24
SPEAKER_02: So I love that show.
1:14:26
SPEAKER_02: Oh, sitcom for me that I thought Mitt might get picked was King of Queens.
1:14:29
SPEAKER_02: I thought Arthur Squad on the list.
1:14:31
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, oh yeah.
1:14:33
SPEAKER_02: He's so funny.
1:14:34
SPEAKER_02: It's basically Frank Costanza.
1:14:36
SPEAKER_02: He just does the same, he's the same character.
1:14:38
SPEAKER_02: And then I also had two that are kind of cringy but also hilarious were Nathan for you and I think you should leave.
1:14:47
SPEAKER_02: I think both of those might be a little bit more than a lot of people.
1:14:48
SPEAKER_02: I think I should leave the table.
1:14:50
SPEAKER_02: I think you should leave is the most memeable show ever.
1:14:53
SPEAKER_02: And it's so so funny.
1:15:00
SPEAKER_00: Why did I do that?
1:15:02
SPEAKER_02: I love that.
1:15:02
SPEAKER_02: I just didn't want to take it because you just don't get a ton of length out of it.
1:15:07
SPEAKER_02: So it's it's the skit show and it's it it serves a purpose, but I just it just didn't crack my board.
1:15:13
SPEAKER_02: But yeah, that's basically all I had.
1:15:15
SPEAKER_02: I'm tapped out on honorable mention.
1:15:16
SPEAKER_03: So yeah, pretty much.
1:15:19
SPEAKER_03: No scrubs from anybody?
1:15:21
SPEAKER_03: I didn't watch it.
1:15:23
SPEAKER_03: I I I've only watched like a few episodes.
1:15:26
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I was surprised that that one didn't get pulled up.
1:15:29
SPEAKER_01: I know that it has a pretty big cult following.
1:15:32
SPEAKER_01: And then did anybody uh and nobody took 30 rock either, right?
1:15:36
SPEAKER_01: No, no, that's another one with a big following too.
1:15:39
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, I've not seen a single episode, so that that was another one.
1:15:45
SPEAKER_02: And I hate Alec Baldwin.
1:15:46
SPEAKER_01: I hate him.
1:15:49
SPEAKER_02: I can't stand him.
1:15:50
SPEAKER_03: So well, isn't he like pretty much himself in the show, too?
1:15:54
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you're not alone.
1:15:55
SPEAKER_03: Like, he's not a not a good guy.
1:15:57
SPEAKER_03: I'm I don't think he's Chevy Chase bad, but like he's still not good.
1:16:01
SPEAKER_02: They're both awful on set, is what I've heard.
1:16:04
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
1:16:05
SPEAKER_03: Yes.
1:16:05
SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, one one one murdered somebody.
1:16:08
SPEAKER_04: That was that was the uh gun misfire.
1:16:11
SPEAKER_04: The gun misfired allegedly.
1:16:15
SPEAKER_02: Uh, why don't we run through our picks in order that we drafted them?
1:16:18
SPEAKER_02: So I have the list in the show doc if you guys don't have it in front of you.
1:16:23
SPEAKER_02: So turn to that if you need to.
1:16:25
SPEAKER_02: But Jeff, we'll start with you.
1:16:29
SPEAKER_04: I went Seinfeld, Eastbound and Down, South Park, Veeep, Letter Kenny, the league.
1:16:38
SPEAKER_01: I went Friends, New Girl, Brooklyn 99, Community, Ted Lasso, and ABBA Elementary.
1:16:46
SPEAKER_03: I went the office, the United States version, uh, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Parks and Recreation, um That 70 show, Malcolm in the Middle, and then the Drew Carey show.
1:17:02
SPEAKER_02: I went with Curb Your Enthusiasm, How I Met Your Mother, Arrested Development, Boy Meets World, Entourage, and Shrinking.
1:17:10
SPEAKER_02: And I will say one more quick last-minute honorable mention.
1:17:14
SPEAKER_02: The Office UK version should have been mentioned.
1:17:18
SPEAKER_02: I think that show is piss your pants funny, but I felt like Jake covered it when he took the Office US.
1:17:22
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
1:17:24
SPEAKER_03: No, again.
1:17:25
SPEAKER_02: I'll take any sympathy votes.
1:17:27
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Laney has entered the chat here for Team Jeff.
1:17:30
SPEAKER_01: Okay, can't believe Sean would can't believe Sean would cuss while Laney was on screen.
1:17:34
SPEAKER_01: Crazy.
1:17:36
SPEAKER_02: No, he's a scumbag.
1:17:37
SPEAKER_02: That's a last ditch effort to win the fan vote, is what that was.
1:17:40
SPEAKER_02: I know.
1:17:40
SPEAKER_03: Use like you can't use your you know your beautiful daughter to do like to get sympathy votes.
1:17:46
SPEAKER_03: That's not right.
1:17:47
SPEAKER_01: Well, Sean should get negative for cussing while while on screen.
1:17:52
SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
1:17:52
SPEAKER_01: What did I say?
1:17:53
SPEAKER_01: Piss when she was here?
1:17:54
SPEAKER_01: Hi, Laney.
1:17:55
unknown: Oh my god.
1:17:56
SPEAKER_00: Give us a hello.
1:18:00
SPEAKER_03: Uh all right, boys.
1:18:02
SPEAKER_02: Anything else before we wrap up?
1:18:04
SPEAKER_03: Hey, uh, I enjoy yeah, I enjoyed these talks.
1:18:07
SPEAKER_03: I thought we all did very well.
1:18:09
SPEAKER_03: I mean, there's one clear winner, me, but I thought we had a I thought we had we all had very good boards.
1:18:16
SPEAKER_04: Jake, I thought you did a lot better than the last time, buddy.
1:18:19
SPEAKER_03: Listen, if you don't understand law and order, that's your board.
1:18:22
SPEAKER_04: Listen, I think people had more of an issue with the haunting of Hill House.
1:18:27
SPEAKER_03: Dude, Haunting at Hill House was a great show.
1:18:29
SPEAKER_03: I don't care what anyone says, I'll die on that hill.
1:18:31
SPEAKER_03: I'll die on Hill House.
1:18:33
SPEAKER_02: I think your draft did die on Hill House.
1:18:36
SPEAKER_02: It did.
1:18:38
SPEAKER_02: I also think I said last time that Dick Clark was the showrunner for Lawn Order instead of Dick Wolf.
1:18:47
SPEAKER_02: I would like to issue a hand up for you.
1:18:49
SPEAKER_02: Well, boys, thank you all for joining me.
1:18:52
SPEAKER_02: We will have the poll out in a week.
1:18:53
SPEAKER_02: We'll give the listeners some time to digest, and then we will get you guys back on for a different topic sometime soon.
1:18:59
SPEAKER_02: So I appreciate it.
1:19:00
SPEAKER_02: Listeners, thank you all for tuning in, and until next time, take care.
