- 0:47Speaker 1: She's a transformational coach, a life coach, an ordained minister and author, and I love this.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Her life is dedicated to the emotional and spiritual restoration of women.
- 1:01Speaker 1: As the founder of Linda P Jones Ministries, women of worth and soul survive.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Hers.
- 1:08Speaker 1: She's a driving force that inspires people.
- 1:11Speaker 1: So, linda, it's great to have you here.
- 1:15Speaker 2: It's great for you to have me.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 1:18Speaker 2: It's an honor.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I always like to tell people how I meet these wonderful guests.
- 1:24Speaker 1: And Linda was at Michelle Tufford's networking event and it was like this, guys, it was like, you know, she shuffles the cards and we have eight minutes.
- 1:33Speaker 1: And Linda came in and we started talking and the next thing, you know, I gave her my opening to my signature talk and, boom, we hit it.
- 1:42Speaker 1: We hit it off right, didn we linda?
- 1:46Speaker 2: yes, indeed, actually I was looking at your name when they had the whole, you know, the whole um, with all the um attendees, and I said stop no more.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I, I like that yeah, because we want to help women get stuck, no more.
- 2:02Speaker 1: So there's so much about you that I can't wait to unpack.
- 2:06Speaker 1: But please, I gave a little introduction, but why don't you give your heart behind what God's called you to in the last many years?
- 2:16Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, you know, you start off one way.
- 2:20Speaker 2: You never know that's the way you're going to end up.
- 2:22Speaker 2: That's the truth.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Well, oh shoot, my life was such that, as you said, sometimes you wish someone was there back then with an encouraging book to help you.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I came out of so much turmoil and trauma.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I came out of so much turmoil and and trauma and, um, I felt like someone in a deep hole, grabbing onto the side, crawling my way up because I just didn't have the help, the resources, the people who knew what to do about it.
- 2:57Speaker 2: You know, I came from a very violent neighborhood and the violence spilled into my home, with drugs and gangs and police and shooting, pow-wow-wow.
- 3:07Speaker 2: It was crazy.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Inside.
- 3:11Speaker 2: My home was not much different.
- 3:13Speaker 2: It wasn't any safer with an alcoholic father who decided that every week he'll come home and pick a fight with my mother, and so the turmoil as a five, six, seven, eight-year-old was just unbelievable and I would witness the fights and the beatings and you know the blood and everything.
- 3:36Speaker 2: It was just horrible.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:38Speaker 2: So that's kind of like where I started off.
- 3:41Speaker 2: That's my starting point.
- 3:43Speaker 1: You know, and there may be someone that really can relate to that kind of background.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So how did you, God, start to lead you out of that?
- 3:52Speaker 2: Oh, it was a long process.
- 3:54Speaker 2: It wasn't an overnight thing, as you well know.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Well, after my mother left him, she escaped and left the country.
- 4:05Speaker 2: She parceled us off.
- 4:08Speaker 2: I have twin brothers, or had twin brothers, and I went one way.
- 4:13Speaker 2: She put me in one place with a friend and they stayed with him and eventually she came back to the country and she took us all to Canada and that broke up that part of the violence.
- 4:26Speaker 2: But it it did not stop the abuse.
- 4:29Speaker 2: It just escalated between me and her because I became the object of her pain and because my father, in all his craziness he favored me and that didn't go down too well.
- 4:42Speaker 2: So that process started a long, long, long, long journey and it didn't go down too well.
- 4:45Speaker 2: So that process started a long, long, long, long journey and it didn't end until she died two years ago.
- 4:49Speaker 1: And that's in all honesty because I think why we hit it off is you know I had 26 years of the emotional and mental abuse, unfortunately married to a man who did not know how to love the brokenness of his own soul.
- 5:04Speaker 1: If a man doesn't know how to do that, then he doesn't know how to love you.
- 5:08Speaker 1: And is that about right?
- 5:11Speaker 1: And to be under that kind of that's tough.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I mean, I'm so excited that you know you survived in the midst of it.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Tell us how, in the midst of a mother who was a narcissist, was there ways of surviving through that that you can look back on?
- 5:31Speaker 2: Maybe that's why my book is called Soul Survivor.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I didn't have the, I didn't think I had keys to, but you survive it somehow because you got to live and when my mom died she was around 85.
- 5:48Speaker 2: So you know a lot of years of stuff, yeah.
- 5:52Speaker 2: You know way, way into my 8-year-old, 10-year-old, younger than that, yeah, but what I had to do, I had to.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I guess.
- 6:04Speaker 2: I put up boundaries in a sort of way.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I didn't know what they were, but I tried to distance myself as much as I could.
- 6:10Speaker 2: But the pull of the manipulation and the guilt trip, and you don't love us and you're leaving us.
- 6:20Speaker 2: And well, eventually God put a distance between us because I moved from Ontario, canada, and I moved up west.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Okay, distance was still not enough before because the phone calls came.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Right right.
- 6:33Speaker 2: And they were horrible.
- 6:34Speaker 2: And then eventually I met a man by well.
- 6:39Speaker 2: I was married and divorced, but that's another story.
- 6:42Speaker 2: But this man who I'm married to right now was just a God-ordained connection, but in Barbados.
- 6:50Speaker 2: So long story short, we got I, we got married in Canada and I relocated here.
- 6:56Speaker 2: So that was another distance yeah, and he in way became a little bit of a buffer.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Oh praise God A little bit.
- 7:07Speaker 2: When he was home, I was safe.
- 7:09Speaker 2: When he was not home, I wasn't safe.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Okay, when the phone calls came.
- 7:14Speaker 2: If he was there, you know, he would kind of maybe intervene or something.
- 7:19Speaker 2: But if she was not there, then God help me.
- 7:22Speaker 2: So he would come home in the evenings and take one look at me and says, oh, you were talking to your mother today.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Just one look at me and he would know he would have to scrape me off the walls.
- 7:33Speaker 2: You know, yeah, my goodness, it was just that bad.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and we're just being real y'all.
- 7:40Speaker 1: You know life can be tough and sometimes we just got to put a helmet on and other times we really need to deal with it.
- 7:47Speaker 1: So is that like the background of?
- 7:49Speaker 1: Can we talk about soul survivors, which your book is?
- 7:55Speaker 1: Soul survivor, yeah, how did your walking through all of this from childhood on into your mother?
- 8:01Speaker 1: How does that play a role in your book and in your group?
- 8:05Speaker 1: I love the name Survive Hers.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Yes, and I'll explain that.
- 8:11Speaker 2: This book came about maybe 10 years, maybe less than that, when God said to me write this book.
- 8:22Speaker 2: And I said, well, I can't, because my mother is alive and every player in my life is alive.
- 8:28Speaker 2: How do I do that?
- 8:29Speaker 2: And I skipped and I jumped and I did all I can do to escape it and I've had so many prophetic words coming at me write that book, write that book.
- 8:39Speaker 2: So I busted up the courage and I wrote the book.
- 8:42Speaker 2: He said, when you write this book, other women will be healed and it will be part of your healing process.
- 8:49Speaker 2: So my book is like a whole, and what made it easy to write was that I kept journals, so I recorded everything, so I would just go back to the journal and pull out.
- 9:02Speaker 2: I love this would just go back to the journal and pull out, even though the first writing disappeared like whoosh off the screen and I never found it, but thankfully I had, you know, the core.
- 9:20Speaker 2: And so Soul Survivor really is my story, documenting everything I knew and happened to me up to about 2016 or so, because I had to stop, because it wouldn't stop, you know, plus what happened around that time.
- 9:35Speaker 2: I couldn't document, so I had to just leave it there, really, uh, the the documentation of the book, and and I played around, yeah, I put the book out and I found every possible way for her not to get it and thankfully, she, as far as I know, she never got it yeah she knew I wrote it.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I said, mommy, if I, if you read this book, you will die.
- 10:04Speaker 2: You can't handle it, you know right.
- 10:06Speaker 2: And so, um, she didn't get it, her friends got it and stuff like that.
- 10:11Speaker 2: But eventually, as I, um, I was a full-time pastor, full-time minister, you know all this stuff.
- 10:18Speaker 2: With all this stuff, I mean it wasn't as bad.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I've had counseling, I've had prayer, I've had the whole nine yards.
- 10:26Speaker 2: But because I remember one minister saying to me he says you are like an onion layers and layers and layers.
- 10:35Speaker 2: You know.
- 10:35Speaker 2: So it wasn't a one-time thing, it was like layers.
- 10:40Speaker 2: God had to deal with me in layers and had to stop when I couldn't handle it and then move on to another.
- 10:47Speaker 2: And because what you, what you know what it is to be from like a child to an adult, and it wasn't like something that happened 20 years ago.
- 10:57Speaker 2: It was going to your face constantly, whether it was by phone or whatever.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Constantly, whether it was by phone or whatever, if I went, when I went up to visit, it was constant.
- 11:08Speaker 2: It never stopped Right, like I said, until she passed away about two years, two years ago.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Soul Survivors H-E-R-S is a trademark name for the ministry and God been talking to me also about doing soul survivors and as usual I'm dragging my feet because it's oh gosh.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Yeah, you know those stories are so tender.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Yes, they are, but the HEIs is a framework that he gave me years ago.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Great, I had a ministry called Women of Worth, but Soul Survivors was really the core, because I remember when I was writing the book I had no title.
- 11:55Speaker 2: I had absolutely no title for the book.
- 11:57Speaker 2: But I was writing a book that I did not know what it was going to be called and I tried every name in the book, in the you know, to name it, but nothing.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Until one day I'm lying down, you know, but lying in the couch, and this word, just like, and I jumped up and thought where did that come from?
- 12:15Speaker 2: So that's how the book got its name.
- 12:18Speaker 2: But the h-e-r-s.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I took out the v-o-r-s.
- 12:22Speaker 2: V-o-r-s.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I put hers.
- 12:24Speaker 2: It's an acronym for healing.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I see that.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Equipping, restoring so that they can serve.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Because I want to inspire Christian women to break free from their past limitations and step boldly into their given purpose and voice in their identity as leaders and change makers.
- 12:49Speaker 2: And I work with women who are ready, because not everybody's ready to change.
- 12:54Speaker 2: You know that.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I do know that people love to tell their story and tell their story over and over and and they are stuck, like, like you said, they're stuck there but you want them to be stuck no more.
- 13:07Speaker 2: So I work with women who are ready, who are saying you know what?
- 13:11Speaker 2: I know that God has given me dreams.
- 13:13Speaker 2: I know my past, my past.
- 13:17Speaker 2: It's like a bad shadow just hanging on the memories, the words that were spoken, the cutting remarks.
- 13:24Speaker 2: You know all of those, the shame, the blame.
- 13:30Speaker 1: We need to get healed from those.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Otherwise, we're speaking from our wounds instead of our scars.
- 13:36Speaker 2: And operating from them.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I want to ask you something.
- 13:39Speaker 1: When you said you were drunk, I really, really the Holy Spirit just revealed this to me in the beginning of the year.
- 13:46Speaker 1: There's a way to stop.
- 13:50Speaker 1: The attack Doesn't mean it ends, but when you do something that's lined in your DNA, like you were journaling, being a writer is lined in your DNA and then you let the Holy Spirit sweep in there, you create the way God creates.
- 14:07Speaker 1: So I survived much the same way you did.
- 14:10Speaker 1: I'm not trying to be woo-woo either, but I journaled a lot and all of a sudden the Holy Spirit would come in and the voice of the vine dresser and he'd say listen to the vine dresser.
- 14:21Speaker 1: And I literally Linda would just start writing what he said.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Then, after he's done, I might clean up the English.
- 14:27Speaker 1: But that was the way I was surviving the attack, but I was still fighting for my voice.
- 14:33Speaker 1: So you were in the midst of your journaling attack, but I was still fighting for my voice.
- 14:37Speaker 1: So you were in the midst of your journaling.
- 14:38Speaker 1: You're still fighting for your voice and in the midst of writing that book you are surviving the attack.
- 14:43Speaker 1: And the reason I know I was creating the way God creates is it wasn't religion.
- 14:47Speaker 1: It was in the voice of the Father.
- 14:49Speaker 1: So when you start sharing, it's a process.
- 14:54Speaker 1: You were journaling, trying to write a book, but in that writing of that book, even though your mom was alive, you were fighting for your voice and you were winning.
- 15:05Speaker 2: That is so exciting, yeah yeah, I remember one time I went up to see her and we were in the car, my husband and I and her, and we're going somewhere and she looks for a fight.
- 15:18Speaker 2: In anything and with everything, you can't breathe you know you're constantly on tender hooks and I remember shooting at her and saying listen to me, I am taking my life back from you.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I am taking back my right to be a woman.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I'm taking back my right to be a wife.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I'm taking back my right to be happy.
- 15:45Speaker 2: I had to start to verbalize it because that was the only way to get her off of my space.
- 15:51Speaker 2: She was encroaching my very soul.
- 15:54Speaker 2: This thought it's they suck you.
- 15:59Speaker 2: It's like a sucking of your soul.
- 16:03Speaker 2: And there was a time she came to visit me and I remember thinking I'm dying.
- 16:10Speaker 2: This is how it used to be dying.
- 16:12Speaker 2: I mean, there was nothing to tell me that, but I just felt like I was dying.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah, totally.
- 16:20Speaker 2: And a friend called and she said Linda, what's going on?
- 16:22Speaker 2: I said I don't know.
- 16:23Speaker 2: He said the Lord just put you on my heart.
- 16:25Speaker 2: He says what's going on there?
- 16:26Speaker 2: I said I feel like I'm dying.
- 16:28Speaker 2: I feel like somebody's sucking the life out of me.
- 16:33Speaker 1: That's so real, that's so real.
- 16:38Speaker 2: I'm sorry, it's sad, because it's not so sad for me as it was sad for her, because she found no way to heal.
- 16:48Speaker 2: No matter what I offered, no matter what was presented, she could not seem to be able to get a hold of it so that she can be healed.
- 16:57Speaker 2: And when she would come, I'd take her to a counselor.
- 17:00Speaker 2: And you know nothing, nothing worked.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Nothing worked.
- 17:06Speaker 2: It was like she was prepared to let me pay for what I don't know for the rest of my life I'm gonna torment you until I die.
- 17:16Speaker 2: It was really a goal.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Oh man, you know I like that.
- 17:19Speaker 1: You took responsibility for yourself.
- 17:21Speaker 1: You got some counseling, you got some healing, you got some, you went into some, you know deliverance.
- 17:27Speaker 1: But I personally don't know how I would manage it afterwards if I didn't have.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I don't know if you heard of Dr Caroline Leaf, but I had one of her best facilitators and it's been.
- 17:41Speaker 1: It'll be three years next year and for two years I've gone once a week.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Now it has turned a little more into being my business coach instead of my mental coach.
- 17:51Speaker 1: But I, you know, when you said taking the onion peels, they're not ready because they I was like an onion.
- 18:00Speaker 1: That just was one thing that I noticed.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Tell me if you don't notice this.
- 18:04Speaker 1: When I finally you know I met her once I got a free hour consultation and after it was over, what do you have?
- 18:12Speaker 1: And then I couldn't stop talking and I guess because my voice was so stuff, stuff.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I said I asked her recently because now she's a dear friend.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I said how did you handle me?
- 18:27Speaker 1: You, it was only for an hour, but you gave me two hours and she said, oh t, you needed to talk, wow.
- 18:35Speaker 1: So the onion peel came off and I can tell you that the onion peels have come off of you because you're radiating what you've got going to help women.
- 18:46Speaker 1: It's so beautiful, linda.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Yeah, and I love it that you're really on the front line, because a lot of people don't want to talk, or a lot of women.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Let's just talk about women.
- 19:00Speaker 1: They're voiceless in more ways than one.
- 19:04Speaker 1: They lose their identity, gets jacked up, they don't feel like they have a voice.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I was on the radio of all things, and I still felt voiceless and controlled.
- 19:15Speaker 1: But so when you, you get women, you're telling me, you get women when they are ready to change, they're ready to.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Let's have some scars.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Let's not talk from the wounds.
- 19:24Speaker 1: So is there a process?
- 19:27Speaker 1: What kind of process?
- 19:28Speaker 1: I know each one might be different.
- 19:30Speaker 1: How do you help them pull those peels off of damage and emotional wreckage?
- 19:38Speaker 2: Right?
- 19:38Speaker 2: Well, first I do not present myself as a trauma expert or anything like that.
- 19:46Speaker 2: There are certain areas that women will need to go to counseling and psychology and stuff like that.
- 19:54Speaker 2: But I'm a Bible teacher and I'm very, very Bible-based.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I was telling someone recently.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I said my secret source is able to take the word, put it alive and all of a sudden you see yourself in it.
- 20:11Speaker 2: It's no more an ancient book with ancient women who've been through this, like my book Out of the Ashes talks about that way.
- 20:18Speaker 2: These are women who've been through stuff and I take their stories and I bring it to life and you can just almost equate your life with theirs.
- 20:28Speaker 2: So there's nothing new under the sun.
- 20:30Speaker 2: So I use scripture.
- 20:31Speaker 2: So I built the healing portion of the framework around five courses.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Who do you say you are?
- 20:42Speaker 2: So you're looking at identity.
- 20:43Speaker 2: We're looking at um, that's the first place we gotta go, because you know after these things your identity is completely smashed.
- 20:51Speaker 2: If you have anything left, you know just waiting it off the floor.
- 20:57Speaker 2: So we're looking at who do you say you are?
- 21:00Speaker 2: I'm going into the script because the word has power.
- 21:03Speaker 2: The word has life-changing power.
- 21:05Speaker 2: The word can go into the soul and the bone and the marrow.
- 21:09Speaker 2: You know the word of god is powerful.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I always say if the word doesn't say anything about it or I can't find some principle or somewhere in the word, then I don't have anything to say because I'm not that smart, but I use the word.
- 21:22Speaker 2: So I build this healing program on how God repurposes your pain.
- 21:27Speaker 2: And I take women.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I pull the women in from the Bible.
- 21:30Speaker 2: I pull them in.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I pull them in.
- 21:32Speaker 2: So we go to Hega.
- 21:33Speaker 2: She's a single woman, she's a single parent, how she struggled with a man that she loved.
- 21:39Speaker 2: And we work through those things until they begin to see themselves, and not only that, they begin to see the god who transformed their lives.
- 21:48Speaker 2: We purpose their pain for, for for greatness we have.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Then we talk about leah, the woman who's been rejected.
- 21:56Speaker 2: So you name anything you've been through, I can find a woman who's been through it in the scripture.
- 22:03Speaker 2: So that's the, that's the way I use the word to bring as the basis of which I build, help them build their lives on and anything deeper.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Well, we can do one-on-ones and go a little deeper good it's.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Yes, I see you've been out of the ashes.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Is that kind of the formation of some of your training that book?
- 22:24Speaker 2: it's uh 13 women in the bible.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Okay, 13, um, let me just pull it from here I love that yeah actually I was trying to name my soul survival book Out of the Ashes, but God wouldn't have it.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I love that Quickly.
- 22:44Speaker 1: No, we're not doing that.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Hagar represents.
- 22:50Speaker 2: When women come, they come from a gamut of trauma, from different.
- 22:56Speaker 2: If they're divorced, I can tell them.
- 22:59Speaker 2: If they tell me that they're being abused, I can say, yes, I've been, emotionally, mentally.
- 23:04Speaker 2: If they tell you that they were sexually abused, I can tell you something about that.
- 23:11Speaker 2: If they told you that they lost babies, I can tell you I lost four.
- 23:13Speaker 2: If they told you about rejection, abandonment, you name it.
- 23:18Speaker 2: I can tell you just about every story.
- 23:21Speaker 2: But in the book Soul Out of the Ashes we have Hagar and she's the other woman.
- 23:26Speaker 2: It depends on which country.
- 23:28Speaker 2: In our country we call her the outside woman.
- 23:30Speaker 2: She talks about what it's like to be in love with a married man Because I took some poetic lessons and he doesn't love her but he and his wife chases her and her teenage son out of the house, and you know.
- 23:46Speaker 2: So I made the stories really very practical and relevant.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Then Leah she's a desperate housewife.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Some of us will remember that show from years ago.
- 23:56Speaker 2: She's desperate for the love of Jacob.
- 24:00Speaker 2: She's doing everything that she could.
- 24:02Speaker 2: But out of each woman's life we see how God brought them out of the ashes Because in the end, through her pain, through her rejection, leah birthed half the tribes of Israel.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Wow think about that.
- 24:16Speaker 2: And Judah from which Jesus the Messiah.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Judah from which Jesus the Messiah.
- 24:22Speaker 2: So how is that?
- 24:23Speaker 2: I mean, how is that?
- 24:24Speaker 2: For God repurposing your pain, come on.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Always known as the land of the tribe of Judah and who birthed Judah, but Leah, yes, that's so good.
- 24:35Speaker 1: It's like out of people's, out of these women or our misery comes our greatest destiny Stories.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Come on, you're in misery.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Destiny's ahead, yeah, yeah.
- 24:46Speaker 2: We have the harlot I call her the lady of the night and both Boaz and ended up in the lineage of Jesus.
- 24:57Speaker 2: I mean, how good can it get Naomi bereaved and broken?
- 25:03Speaker 2: She lost her husband.
- 25:06Speaker 2: So I'm speaking to women at all level of life experiences and that's the way it should be.
- 25:13Speaker 1: I mean, psychology and mumbo jumbo is great, but when you want to get down to the bottom of it, you kind of got to deconstruct, maybe some of the lies, but let's okay, we're deconstructing, but let's put something.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Truth Can't just leave you deconstructed.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Let's get some proof.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Then you're ready to hear those that's right, oh so good, so so good.
- 25:35Speaker 1: That is powerful to hear those that's right, oh so good, so so good.
- 25:41Speaker 1: What is this powerful?
- 25:42Speaker 2: and and I bet you, you see some fruit from that, because it's the word yes, definitely and actually I'm launching next year my six-month program on this, the soul survivors.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I'm launching february sorry, march march next year, the six-month program.
- 25:58Speaker 1: We're going to say this year, we're just days away.
- 26:01Speaker 1: True, exactly right, when you hear this podcast.
- 26:06Speaker 2: As before you know it, it will be March.
- 26:09Speaker 1: We will be right going into January.
- 26:12Speaker 1: So if you're listening to this live, you got it now.
- 26:14Speaker 1: So tell us about that program you got Right.
- 26:19Speaker 2: It's a six month signature program.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I'm taking my courses in the framework, I'm going to work through them and I'll be meeting with the group once a week and we'll be walking through the settings.
- 26:31Speaker 2: And then they will have about two.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Each person will have the opportunity to two free one-on-ones with me within the six-month period.
- 26:42Speaker 2: That's beautiful, that's really yeah and um.
- 26:46Speaker 2: If they want to go deeper, then they have the option of joining a one-on-one right and that will be like a 50% off if they're in the program in the program.
- 26:56Speaker 1: I know we're in the middle, but just where do they go?
- 26:58Speaker 1: I know someone may be like I don't want to stay longer, I just want to get there.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Actually they can join the wait list because it's lyndapjonesorg and let me put it in the chat for you.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Okay, I'm just.
- 27:11Speaker 1: No, I got it, lynda Jones.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Linda P Jones dot org forward slash, forward slash group coaching group coaching.
- 27:24Speaker 2: And that's a way.
- 27:25Speaker 2: That's a wait list they can join and I'll be in there giving information and updating them as so they would know what's happening.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Yeah, ok, wait, I want to put that link there, is that right?
- 27:39Speaker 1: Lindapjonesorg group coaching.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Yes, okay, I'm going to leave that up there just for a little bit because you know it's just In the meantime, I'm sorry.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Go ahead in the meantime they can go to LindaPJonesorg and then they can join my weekly devotions.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Every Monday morning they get a devotion, nice Right.
- 28:01Speaker 2: And then I have a free resource page.
- 28:05Speaker 2: They can get some downloads.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that's so good.
- 28:09Speaker 1: I just got to put some of that up there because I love to.
- 28:13Speaker 1: I mean, linda, you're really talking to me because everyone has their own style, but obviously out of the ashes of my crash has come beauty for ashes, yes, and I really.
- 28:31Speaker 1: I mean you probably cannot put in a podcast all the travail you've gone from, but you certainly can go to the Bible and say, okay, like you just said, I've been homeless, I've been abused, I've lost a child, I've been divorced.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Talk about God's redemption.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I mean your middle name should be Linda Redemption Jones.
- 28:53Speaker 1: I mean, that is so beautiful.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Well, actually my name means pretty, so I guess it means beautiful.
- 29:02Speaker 2: And then there's three resources.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Oh my God, all the way through, even as I look back into my childhood, when I didn't know God per se, I saw God.
- 29:15Speaker 2: I saw his hand keeping me.
- 29:18Speaker 1: And.
- 29:18Speaker 2: I remember when things were so violent and so hopeless as a little girl.
- 29:24Speaker 2: I'm wondering wow is this my life?
- 29:27Speaker 2: I mean, I'm seven, somewhere in there.
- 29:29Speaker 2: So I remember looking up into the sky and singing this song by Barbara Streisand Somewhere there is a place for us, Somewhere there's hope, Somewhere there's peace and quiet.
- 29:43Speaker 2: And I remember singing that song to myself, like it was.
- 29:46Speaker 2: That was the song of hope that I held on to.
- 29:49Speaker 2: You know, at that time I didn't know many hymns and then eventually I started going to you will call it Episcopal, but we call it Anglican Church.
- 29:56Speaker 2: You will call it Episcopal, but we call it Anglican Church.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Okay, I devoured and soaked in everything they said and all the everything, because I was so hungry and thirsty for God, Wow.
- 30:11Speaker 2: And when I had my confirmation because that's something they do at 12 years old I remember I had a deep, deep spiritual experience when the bishop, or whoever he was he came, you know, he put his hands on my head and I remember I didn't know what it was then, but now I know what.
- 30:28Speaker 2: The power of God went through my body.
- 30:31Speaker 2: I was weeping uncontrollably.
- 30:34Speaker 2: God always had his hands upon my life, even from the child onward, because I knew that he, for all the hell that I've been through, Teresa, I should be dead in the madhouse, in the jail.
- 30:50Speaker 2: But God, yes, Amen.
- 30:52Speaker 2: He brought us all together and kept me in touch.
- 31:04Speaker 2: He had purpose for my life and for the women who are listening.
- 31:09Speaker 2: God has purpose.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Yes, Listen, thoughts of suicide came, thoughts of ending it.
- 31:18Speaker 2: You know, is this all there is to life?
- 31:21Speaker 2: I can't continue.
- 31:22Speaker 2: And on, and on and on.
- 31:23Speaker 2: But he didn't let me give up.
- 31:27Speaker 1: You know you said you had something happen as a child.
- 31:31Speaker 1: I often believe that you can find threads of what you're meant to do later in life with your childhood.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I often say it's in either encounter.
- 31:42Speaker 1: I do believe it can be like in a young childhood encounter.
- 31:45Speaker 1: I also believe that you can find threads what you're meant to do by when you were a child, innocent, and the life was good.
- 31:52Speaker 1: What did you like to do when you played?
- 31:55Speaker 1: And I've asked, I ask it and I ask it and they're doing it now.
- 32:00Speaker 1: I mean, one friend said I play barbie dolls.
- 32:04Speaker 1: But we did a business with the barbie dolls.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I can look at my childhood.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Childhood was like when it's about seven.
- 32:12Speaker 1: We lived in this house and had massive steps to the top and I'd climb those steps and I'd imagine a crowd as big as Billy Graham and I'd preach.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I was Catholic, I didn't want to be a priest, I just wanted to speak.
- 32:27Speaker 1: We later moved, okay, we later moved, and there were only two little steps.
- 32:31Speaker 1: I looked at those steps and I thought but I saw an apple cart.
- 32:36Speaker 1: So I got that apple cart, I tipped it upside down like this and I did preach to the birds, the bees and the apple trees.
- 32:44Speaker 1: You need Jesus, yes Threads.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Now, however, many years later, I use an iMac, iphone, ipad, iwatch.
- 32:56Speaker 1: God's given me now the freedom I couldn't do this when I was married, but now the really true freedom to use Apple products, not just for the sake of being on video, but to really just the same thing Talk.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Help the women who feel voiceless be able to find their identity, get some healing emotionally, spiritually, emotionally, he mentally, and so they can go in the realm, they can go where God's called them.
- 33:30Speaker 1: And so did you play.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Do you remember what you like to do?
- 33:34Speaker 1: Just that.
- 33:38Speaker 2: They were diverse.
- 33:38Speaker 2: My mother was a dressmaker and so I would make clothes with the scraps and dolls and stuff like that.
- 33:45Speaker 2: And the other thing I did was I read ferociously.
- 33:49Speaker 2: I had a lot of books.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:51Speaker 2: So my first half of my life I was a fashion designer, fashion consultant and that's.
- 33:58Speaker 2: I made clothes, I coordinate wardrobes and so I had a little business where I was working in the bank full time, but I also had this love for sewing and fashion and everything.
- 34:08Speaker 2: And it was about maybe 50, more than about 20 years or so.
- 34:15Speaker 2: God called me out that long, maybe not that long, maybe about 15 or so 20, called me out of fashion into ministry, and here I am in ministry writing books.
- 34:29Speaker 2: I have 13 books on Amazon.
- 34:31Speaker 1: They can't see you on the podcast, but she is dressed so beautifully.
- 34:36Speaker 1: I'm sorry you're missing this, so you were into all that, but now you are dressing the wounds.
- 34:42Speaker 2: I'm dressing the wounds.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Yes, that's it.
- 34:45Speaker 2: I just wrote that today on a website no More Ground.
- 34:49Speaker 2: I think it was no More Ground.
- 34:51Speaker 2: They were asking to introduce yourself.
- 34:53Speaker 2: I said I now redress women not only physically, but now I redress them, redressing their souls and bringing them emotional health.
- 35:04Speaker 2: So yes, I'm doing.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I'm actually doing that in the spiritual realm.
- 35:10Speaker 1: If you're stuck, my friend, just you go back.
- 35:14Speaker 1: What did you like to do with the child?
- 35:15Speaker 1: Now listen, if you had a very abusive childhood, what that means is you just have a road of recovery and then, when you get transformed like Linda, then you get to speak to the person you once were.
- 35:28Speaker 1: So also Linda's ministry.
- 35:31Speaker 1: She's pulling women from the Bible, but she can relate to the women from the Bible too.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Come on, can you get this and able to minister to women right to the core of what God designed them?
- 35:42Speaker 1: Because I believe, Linda, God brings this in the world, lines something very specific in our very DNA.
- 35:47Speaker 1: The enemy doesn't want us to fulfill our purpose because we're going to impact lives.
- 35:52Speaker 1: So it's a spiritual battle.
- 35:54Speaker 1: God doesn't want you to have money.
- 35:55Speaker 1: It's spiritual warfare to make money, because the enemy knows you're going to use that for goods You're going to sell, You're going to build.
- 36:02Speaker 1: So you're getting me fired up.
- 36:05Speaker 1: I think I could run around this room.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Well, that's the truth.
- 36:08Speaker 2: The warfare I understand and I understand now.
- 36:11Speaker 2: The warfare has been tremendous in my life because of what I was called to do.
- 36:17Speaker 2: It was amazing.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Yeah, and just you're just such a beautiful Testament of God's grace redemption.
- 36:27Speaker 1: You're beautiful.
- 36:28Speaker 1: It's been almost three years for me since I walked away from my abuser, your mom, my husband, and it's like I don't let me ask you this because I deal with this.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I'm 61 years old.
- 36:44Speaker 1: You maybe can minister to me.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Sometimes I deal with regret.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Regret in that my children didn't see their suffering because I was surviving.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Regret in my business because a lot of things I wanted to do he pulled back and controlled.
- 37:00Speaker 1: So what do you do when you have a little bit of threads of regret in your life?
- 37:07Speaker 2: You know, I would say there's nothing we can't do about the past and we have to bury the regret.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Okay, I think too, as I looked at my mother.
- 37:17Speaker 2: She lived in so much regret and so much shame and she never got over it.
- 37:22Speaker 2: So I just, you know, we go for the scripture.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Oh, god works all things together for good to them and bad to them, even the regret, and even with our children, when they see us in those states.
- 37:37Speaker 2: God has a way of just redeeming that.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Yes, yes redeeming my children massively back to me.
- 37:47Speaker 1: So thank you for saying that and I apologize to him.
- 37:50Speaker 1: It was very soon after he died and they came back to me.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I said, guys, I am so sorry, I didn't notice what you were going through and they were like, mom, you're trying to survive, it's okay, but I do.
- 38:04Speaker 1: They did go through hell and I wish I could have figured it out.
- 38:08Speaker 1: So they're young, they're young, so I get to love them.
- 38:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:15Speaker 2: I think I regretted not being able to put up my boundaries and stick with them.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Same, because she wore me down so much that if I put up a boundary and I said, yeah, this is it, you know before long she's coming back.
- 38:30Speaker 2: And she had these different faces, you know.
- 38:33Speaker 2: So once she'd be crying oh, poor me.
- 38:36Speaker 2: And oh, next month she'd be the aggressor, wow, and next month she'll be in between.
- 38:40Speaker 2: So I never knew who I was getting.
- 38:42Speaker 2: It was a Jekyll and Hyde experience.
- 38:45Speaker 2: I just never knew what was going to happen.
- 38:48Speaker 2: So after what it wore you down, it just wore on you, because she's my mother, you know, and you can't, you want to.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Actually one time I thought I'm going to divorce this woman.
- 39:01Speaker 2: There must be a court somewhere where I can divorce her.
- 39:09Speaker 1: I knew it would be too much of a battle to try to divorce her, but I was so blinded to it until the very end.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Then I was like, oh, my kids, yeah, I am living with that.
- 39:20Speaker 1: So, uh, it's, it's a battle.
- 39:23Speaker 1: But you know, when you talk about boundaries, I was just starting to get some boundaries and I think the greatest boundary that I did not know how to say was no.
- 39:33Speaker 1: When you say yes to someone, when really it's a no, you lose.
- 39:37Speaker 1: You lose yourself and it sends a signal to your brain that you can't trust yourself.
- 39:43Speaker 1: I couldn't even say no to go to the grocery store, but later on I started to say no by going to another room in our house.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Right, he sold the house because he wanted to live on land and I was stuck in this small little camper out in the middle of nowhere with no friends.
- 40:00Speaker 1: No, and then about then he went from third degree burns, over 30% of his body Wouldn't go to hospital, so I had to dress his wounds to moving to living in this little camper.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Four months later, diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and he wouldn't take his pain meds, and then, four months later, he passed away.
- 40:20Speaker 1: My last eight months were like compounded of all the other stuff I went through, and I look back and I'm like how did I?
- 40:29Speaker 1: I'll see a picture from back.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Then I'm like, oh, I did.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I took a picture of my license.
- 40:35Speaker 1: I had to redo my license and so there's a picture of new Teresa and seven-year-old Teresa and people.
- 40:39Speaker 1: I had to redo my license and so there's a picture of new Teresa and seven-year-old Teresa and people.
- 40:42Speaker 1: I showed it to my coach, my friend, and she's like oh, my goodness, that's like two different people when you start carrying that stuff on you.
- 40:52Speaker 1: So I'm just saying I can relate and it makes our story so beautiful because we're united.
- 40:58Speaker 1: You have your thing, I may have mine.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Beautiful because we're united.
- 41:00Speaker 1: You have your thing, I may have mine, but we're on the same battle.
- 41:04Speaker 1: To say to those women listening now or watching, there's hope.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Mm-hmm, sometimes, if you escape, good, good, good, good counsel, I escaped.
- 41:15Speaker 1: I had it all planned out and I got counsel.
- 41:18Speaker 1: I needed to go back to him because I was going to lose my kids.
- 41:21Speaker 1: I went back to him and I lost my kids.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Wow.
- 41:23Speaker 1: So make sure if you I mean I could give you how to escape, but that's not what this is about, but make sure you have good counsel because you can escape the next thing.
- 41:35Speaker 1: You know someone's playing a religious not religious, I didn't say spiritual game on you and uh, I had to forgive that person religious advice um, god hates it.
- 41:53Speaker 2: God divorce and you should stay.
- 41:55Speaker 2: But he is demoralizing me, he is hitting me and the police are coming to the apartment.
- 42:05Speaker 2: You know what I'm talking about.
- 42:06Speaker 2: It was crazy.
- 42:08Speaker 1: God hates divorce.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Oh well, god also hates abuse.
- 42:12Speaker 1: So, come on, if someone's talking to abuse someone, there's abuse.
- 42:16Speaker 2: yeah, as well because he was running around with the women.
- 42:23Speaker 2: It was just.
- 42:24Speaker 2: Sometimes I look back and I look at myself and I think this person is definitely not that person, because it's like me, but I don't know who she is anymore.
- 42:39Speaker 1: But God, you know, looking at you you radiate.
- 42:42Speaker 1: God's restored the years the locusts have eaten.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Now he's armed you with an army of women to be healed, so that they can heal and speak to the other person.
- 42:53Speaker 1: I just so believe.
- 42:54Speaker 1: God's favor is on you too.
- 42:56Speaker 1: What would take someone like two years you're going to be able to do in however many weeks this program is.
- 43:02Speaker 1: God has set you apart, linda, for such a time as this, and you get to forget what lies behind.
- 43:08Speaker 1: And I see you reaching forward to what's ahead and I see you casting the crowns before God as you ascribe to him as the glory, and you're worshiping him in the beauty of holiness by your life.
- 43:21Speaker 1: So thank you, thank you On behalf of us women, thank you for winning the war on your voice and now, speaking to the person you once were, thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 43:35Speaker 1: So any final words?
- 43:36Speaker 1: Do we got someone still hanging on to this podcast?
- 43:39Speaker 1: They're waiting to the very end, but I would just like give you the freedom.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Would you just speak as God leads you from the word.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Maybe someone needs that.
- 43:50Speaker 1: We haven't really touched their issue.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Maybe someone needs that we haven't really touched their issue.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Do you mind ministering to someone that might be listening live, or they might be listening on the podcast.
- 44:00Speaker 2: I talked about.
- 44:01Speaker 2: I just finished a three-day virtual retreat called Set Free to Sow, and in that I talked about three women.
- 44:08Speaker 2: One of them was Leah, and the subtitle was how God repurposes your pain for greatness.
- 44:17Speaker 2: And the other woman that we hardly ever hear about, two of them and I want to speak to.
- 44:24Speaker 2: We want these two women to minister to women out there who might be listening.
- 44:28Speaker 2: One was Bathsheba women out there who might be listening.
- 44:30Speaker 2: One was Bathsheba.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Bathsheba committed adultery, understand, and so she must have been suffering tremendous amount of shame and guilt because her husband was killed, the baby she carried died.
- 44:47Speaker 2: She committed adultery with David and there was no answer for that.
- 44:51Speaker 2: But in spite of her shame, in her case she caused what happened, in a sense, by consenting to David In her shame.
- 45:01Speaker 2: God still redeemed her with yes, she lost a child, but he gave her a son named Solomon, the richest king that ever lived, a man with a legacy of wisdom that we listen to.
- 45:16Speaker 2: We read all 31 chapters of Proverbs, and on and on and on.
- 45:22Speaker 2: The man built the house of God.
- 45:24Speaker 2: How is that for coming out of shame and degradation?
- 45:29Speaker 2: Come on, yeah.
- 45:31Speaker 2: And the other woman I want to talk to is an Abigail Okay.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Her name means father's delight, okay, she was married to Mabel.
- 45:40Speaker 2: And his name means fool.
- 45:42Speaker 2: He, actually, his name means cruel bully, he was a bully, he was a fool and he was abusive.
- 45:48Speaker 2: Okay and so.
- 45:50Speaker 2: But this woman, woman, the wisdom that she had, nabal, was never able to take it away from her because in her, in the middle of all the drama, she was able to save david from acting silly by because david was going to kill him, kill nabal, refuse to, you know, compensate him for keeping his sheep safe.
- 46:11Speaker 2: And she went in all that she was going through she could have well said you know what, yeah, go kill him.
- 46:17Speaker 2: He deserved, but she maintained such a stance of dignity and fidelity to this man.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Now, I am not condoning women staying in abusive relationships at all, but I believe that Abigail cried out to God so some of you might be crying out to God to be delivered from an abusive situation.
- 46:38Speaker 2: And God came in in a strange way through David.
- 46:42Speaker 2: And when, when um neighbor heard that Abigail had gone and helped out David, she, he went into a rage and he got a stroke and the scripture says and god killed him.
- 46:54Speaker 2: God killed him then later he was dead.
- 47:00Speaker 2: When david heard the news, he said that woman, I want her for my wife.
- 47:05Speaker 2: And he.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Then he brought her and she was.
- 47:07Speaker 2: She became david's wife.
- 47:08Speaker 2: So there's such redemption in all the situations you stay or you don't stay.
- 47:14Speaker 2: God will redeem it.
- 47:16Speaker 2: Abigail, what I loved about her she never lost her sense of self.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Yeah, she knew who she was.
- 47:24Speaker 2: She was able to act with such dignity and wisdom and able to say David, if you do this, this is not going to be good for you.
- 47:35Speaker 2: You are, you are the king elect, and if you do this, this will be a stain on your character.
- 47:39Speaker 2: She could have said yeah, he's been so abusive to me, get rid of him.
- 47:45Speaker 2: But she didn't.
- 47:46Speaker 2: And God honored her and she got a new husband.
- 47:51Speaker 2: So so somebody who is dealing with abuse or somebody who's dealing with shame?
- 47:55Speaker 2: No, it does not.
- 47:56Speaker 2: That's not the end of the story.
- 47:59Speaker 2: Yes, that's a way of redeeming.
- 48:02Speaker 2: It doesn't matter what it looks like.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Come on, sounds like or feels like, god can redeem your story and you will have our story to tell.
- 48:14Speaker 2: That's good.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Shoo.

- 48:27Speaker 1: So, however, god tells you to level up time to go to a new level.
