- 0:00Speaker 1: It's still welcome.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Everybody. Welcome to this week's edition, Miss no Real. This
- 0:20Speaker 2: shows number seven hundred and sixty one for September twelve two.
- 0:24Speaker 2: That on twenty four is your eight of all out,
- 0:27Speaker 2: recap and review edition of the ass R tam you.
- 0:32Speaker 2: I am one after the show, I am Jeff Packet
- 0:34Speaker 2: joined every single week on agost of one one, Doctor
- 0:37Speaker 2: Trent Franklin, Doctor Tray. I bet you didn't think I
- 0:39Speaker 2: was gonna be able to sound like this, my friend.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I was telling you off air.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I thought, at worst you might sound a little bit
- 0:47Speaker 3: like Eugene. At best maybe Cody Rose, Jack Swagger, lisp
- 0:53Speaker 3: going on or thing. The fact that you threw out
- 0:57Speaker 3: the normal intro just then, less than a week after
- 1:01Speaker 3: having well right out, a week from having jaw surgery,
- 1:04Speaker 3: you're a trooper, Jeff Peck in false sense of the term.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of people that are amazed at
- 1:10Speaker 2: my healing. I guess I'm certainly one of them. It
- 1:13Speaker 2: has been a trip, certainly for myself. So I had
- 1:17Speaker 2: a tumor on my jaw. It's come back, It's benign.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Everybody's good. Had that removed, had about a two and
- 1:24Speaker 2: a half three hour surgery a week ago today, so
- 1:27Speaker 2: last Thursday. And it was the longest surgery of my life.
- 1:31Speaker 2: The only other time I had surgery, I was out
- 1:33Speaker 2: for ten minutes, legitimately ten minutes. And I know, doctory
- 1:37Speaker 2: you're coming off with some surgeries recently and all that stuff.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Anesthesia is no joke, my friend. I mean, I went
- 1:43Speaker 2: out at like two forty five. My surgery was at three.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I went out at two forty five, and the next
- 1:48Speaker 2: time I looked at a clock, it was seven oh
- 1:51Speaker 2: seven pm, And I'm like, whoa, how the hell did
- 1:54Speaker 2: we get here? And my surgery ended at about five
- 2:00Speaker 2: thirty or so, and I don't remember really coming to
- 2:03Speaker 2: until about like seven o'clock at night. So I'm not
- 2:07Speaker 2: eating solids still soft food for the time being, which
- 2:12Speaker 2: really really sucks. And I actually am doing this podcast
- 2:17Speaker 2: with one earbud in my ear right now. I should
- 2:21Speaker 2: have grabbed my headphones and literally over my ears because
- 2:24Speaker 2: they did the surgery on my jaw. I was up
- 2:26Speaker 2: on my condyle through basically through my ear, like pulled
- 2:31Speaker 2: my ear lobe off my body, which is just weird
- 2:34Speaker 2: to say. So I can't get any EarPods in my
- 2:40Speaker 2: ear right now, So I am I am gutting this out,
- 2:42Speaker 2: my friend.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Yeah, So I think I told you last week and
- 2:47Speaker 3: a little bit I told this before. Like I remember
- 2:49Speaker 3: the first time I ever had a colonoscopy. I remember
- 2:54Speaker 3: them putting me on the gurdy. They put an IV
- 2:56Speaker 3: in me, and then they said cow bag from one hundred,
- 2:58Speaker 3: I made it's like ninety five and that was it.
- 3:01Speaker 3: And then I remember waking up in the lobby of
- 3:05Speaker 3: the facility we were in talking to my dad like
- 3:09Speaker 3: mid sense and I'm like, wait, how did I get here.
- 3:12Speaker 3: He's like, You've been talking to me for like thirty minutes.
- 3:14Speaker 3: And I'm like, how did I even get dressed? And
- 3:16Speaker 3: he was like, oh, well, be in. The nurse got
- 3:18Speaker 3: you dressed. I'm like, I'm a grown man and my
- 3:21Speaker 3: dad and a nurse were dressing me. And so anesthesia
- 3:25Speaker 3: is so wild that I remember, like the last one
- 3:27Speaker 3: for the foot surgery, like I didn't didn't have to
- 3:31Speaker 3: count back, like they put it in and before I
- 3:34Speaker 3: got to the surgery to the surgical room, I was
- 3:37Speaker 3: already out.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that was very similar for me.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Yeah, and I don't remember anything until I mean, it
- 3:45Speaker 3: was probably a couple hours, like you, like a couple
- 3:47Speaker 3: hours after the surgery that I woke up and my
- 3:49Speaker 3: wife said there next to me.
- 3:50Speaker 1: I'm like, how long have I been here for? She's like, oh,
- 3:52Speaker 1: about an hour and a half.
- 3:53Speaker 3: And I'm like, I don't know how you guys have
- 3:55Speaker 3: the patience to sit here for an hour and a
- 3:57Speaker 3: half with someone who's just like snoring and drooling Like
- 3:59Speaker 3: I would have been, like I didn't check it out
- 4:01Speaker 3: on of got some food and came back and kept.
- 4:04Speaker 1: An eye out. But yeah, it's it's crazy.
- 4:06Speaker 3: And then you'll have like a little bit of a
- 4:08Speaker 3: lingering effect for like a couple of days.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Sometimes it's like a fog that just kind.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Of sets in that just takes forever to kind of
- 4:17Speaker 3: dissipate out.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Oh, I said on Sunday to my wife, I'm like,
- 4:20Speaker 2: I still don't feel one hundred percent. Is that normal?
- 4:24Speaker 2: Because it's the anesthesia alone, Like my jaw feels pretty decent.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I mean there's like a dull, little like pain and
- 4:33Speaker 2: like the right side of my face closer to my
- 4:35Speaker 2: as I get closer to my ear, it gets a
- 4:37Speaker 2: number and numb. I'm starting to regain feeling in my cheek,
- 4:41Speaker 2: but I had this like massive wrap around my head
- 4:44Speaker 2: for seventy two hours. I've explained it to people like
- 4:49Speaker 2: like I looked like someone that had a toothache in
- 4:51Speaker 2: nineteen fifty. That's what I had going on. But the
- 4:55Speaker 2: thing that was the most was like the anesthesia like
- 4:58Speaker 2: really kicked my ass. My wife showed me a photo
- 5:03Speaker 2: last night Wednesday night of me in recovery post op,
- 5:08Speaker 2: and I'm looking at myself and I'm like, wait, I
- 5:11Speaker 2: had an iv in. I had no idea, and no
- 5:15Speaker 2: idea they were giving me fluids. Yeah.
- 5:17Speaker 3: My question for you right now is though, are are
- 5:19Speaker 3: you just sharing foods with your son right now?
- 5:22Speaker 2: We're going back and forth. Well, he's just one sold
- 5:25Speaker 2: breast milk, So no, him and I are not sharing that.
- 5:28Speaker 2: But I guess if he was a couple months older,
- 5:30Speaker 2: then he and I would be into smashed peas and
- 5:34Speaker 2: apple sauce.
- 5:35Speaker 3: I mean, you could look at your wife and say, hey,
- 5:38Speaker 3: some foods protein, calcium.
- 5:41Speaker 1: There you go.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I walked right into that one my friends. So but yeah, no,
- 5:46Speaker 2: it's been it's been pretty wild. It's there's a potential
- 5:51Speaker 2: for a second surgery, and I mean this is like
- 5:55Speaker 2: nobody ever says like, oh, this that was enjoyable or
- 5:58Speaker 2: anything like that. But doctor, I do not want to
- 6:02Speaker 2: touch a surgery anytime soon, and I'm hopeful that they
- 6:05Speaker 2: can repair the final leg of this entire jaw issue
- 6:09Speaker 2: that's been plaguing me the last couple of years over
- 6:13Speaker 2: various different ways rather than surgical because in all honesty,
- 6:17Speaker 2: like the anesthesia like really screwed me up. I mean
- 6:21Speaker 2: it was. It was brutal. Man.
- 6:24Speaker 3: So not to kind of change subjects, but I had
- 6:28Speaker 3: my followed like the day you were having surgery. I
- 6:30Speaker 3: had my four month follow a visit with my doctor
- 6:34Speaker 3: for my foot surgery, and you know, everybody works.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Be like, man, when do you get in back? What
- 6:40Speaker 1: are you get in back?
- 6:40Speaker 3: And I'm you know, I told you just off air,
- 6:42Speaker 3: like they never gave me a timeline. And so I
- 6:45Speaker 3: finally saw my doctor for the first time in about
- 6:47Speaker 3: a month and a half two months I've been seeing
- 6:49Speaker 3: like her associate doctors and things like that, and she
- 6:54Speaker 3: told me flat out, she goes, your foot is the
- 6:57Speaker 3: bone graft took? Everything looks great, everything was healing properly.
- 7:02Speaker 3: She goes, what are you like four and a half
- 7:03Speaker 3: months from the surgery. I'm like, no, it's been three
- 7:05Speaker 3: and a half. She goes, and then she looked at
- 7:07Speaker 3: the physical therapy report and she goes, you know, you're
- 7:10Speaker 3: about a month ahead of schedule.
- 7:12Speaker 1: And I was like really. I was like really.
- 7:14Speaker 3: She goes, yeah, she goes, normal recovery time for this
- 7:16Speaker 3: is about six months. She goes, you're looking to be
- 7:19Speaker 3: recovered by five and she goes, even that surprising because
- 7:21Speaker 3: with you being a diabetic, I was expecting seven to eight.
- 7:25Speaker 3: So I was like, wow, okay, cool, Like, I guess
- 7:32Speaker 3: Jeff and I both just heal faster for a diabetic
- 7:36Speaker 3: and a ginger, which I think is going to be
- 7:38Speaker 3: our new podcast down the road.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just gonna be a medical.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Show Ginger Diabetes.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Yeah. As the older we get, we just discussed our
- 7:45Speaker 2: latest surgeries that are going in our lives. Funny enough,
- 7:49Speaker 2: doctor Trey, So I'm sure you just experienced with your
- 7:52Speaker 2: surgery a couple months ago as well. There were multiple
- 7:55Speaker 2: people that came in multiple times asking me the same
- 7:57Speaker 2: questions over and over before I went to surgery, what
- 8:00Speaker 2: type of allergies? I have medical past, medical history, family history,
- 8:04Speaker 2: all this stuff. So the big one was the anst anesthesiologist.
- 8:08Speaker 2: They came in both separately twice to me one apiece.
- 8:13Speaker 2: They asked the same questions, do you have any family
- 8:14Speaker 2: history of anesthesia issues? No, what is your past medical history?
- 8:17Speaker 2: Very minimal? Blah blah blah. Then I did it again,
- 8:20Speaker 2: I actually said to the woman. I was like, I
- 8:22Speaker 2: literally just gave this to your colleague like twenty minutes ago,
- 8:24Speaker 2: and she's like, okay, yeah, yeah, just do it again
- 8:26Speaker 2: for me. I'm like, okay, went through the whole gambit.
- 8:29Speaker 2: So I'm sitting in the recovery room post op and
- 8:33Speaker 2: my monitor is right in front of me and it
- 8:36Speaker 2: has like all this information on it and all this stuff,
- 8:38Speaker 2: and I'm just like looking at it, and I happen
- 8:41Speaker 2: to see and it was like, there's like this anesthesia
- 8:44Speaker 2: report and it said like past family history and it
- 8:48Speaker 2: said bulleted family doesn't take to anesthesia. Well, I'm like,
- 8:53Speaker 2: I did not say that at all. And then it
- 8:55Speaker 2: said past medical history type two diabetes. I'm like, I
- 8:58Speaker 2: am not a diabetic, Like what the fuck is this?
- 9:02Speaker 2: Like they did I get a stronger dosage? Did somebody
- 9:06Speaker 2: screw up? Because this is not factual. So I actually
- 9:09Speaker 2: never got to the bottom of that because I was
- 9:10Speaker 2: still screwed up by the time I left to the hospital.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I just wanted to go. I was like, I could
- 9:14Speaker 2: walk out of here. They're like, no, you need a wheelchair.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I was like, I believe me, I can go. I'm
- 9:20Speaker 2: glad they got the wheelchair.
- 9:22Speaker 1: So I drew on my foot.
- 9:25Speaker 3: I was like, this foot and then on the other foot.
- 9:28Speaker 3: I went, not this one, the other one, just to
- 9:31Speaker 3: make sure they actually got it right, because I was
- 9:35Speaker 3: literally in that.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Like I had a friend of mine he went in for.
- 9:40Speaker 3: He had to have some kind of prostate surgery and
- 9:42Speaker 3: he literally went in and on the front part of
- 9:45Speaker 3: the anatomy he like around his groin, he rode not this,
- 9:50Speaker 3: go to the back door for his proces surgery.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I thought that was right. Oh that is awesome, man.
- 9:58Speaker 2: So there you go surgery Recap and Review on this
- 10:01Speaker 2: week's edition of SRTU. Glad I'm I'm doing well and
- 10:07Speaker 2: you know, able to sit here and do the podcast,
- 10:09Speaker 2: because I really thought I was gonna be like, no,
- 10:10Speaker 2: coming up next to the aw all out recap and review,
- 10:13Speaker 2: and I was like, gonna have to have a disclaimer
- 10:17Speaker 2: in the beginning that if I sound like I have
- 10:18Speaker 2: marbles in my mouth, I apologize. So if I sound
- 10:21Speaker 2: like I have marbles in my mouth, now, that's just
- 10:23Speaker 2: because I'm tired and maybe still groggy and can't really talk.
- 10:27Speaker 2: So and that's just in general. It has nothing to
- 10:30Speaker 2: do with surgery. With U said, let's switch gears to
- 10:33Speaker 2: aw all out recap review this past Saturday from the
- 10:36Speaker 2: Now Arena in Chicago, Chicago, Illinois. We had four pre
- 10:40Speaker 2: show matches here, Doctor Trey, and this kind of tells
- 10:43Speaker 2: you how like a little bit groggy I was with
- 10:45Speaker 2: some of my notes from this stuff. So the first
- 10:47Speaker 2: match here the Acclaimed defeating the Iron Savages. We did
- 10:50Speaker 2: not predict this match. The Iron Savage has got a
- 10:53Speaker 2: lot of good offense in on a team that that
- 10:55Speaker 2: was just involved in the aw Tag team title match
- 10:57Speaker 2: at all in and he acclaimed. It was also weird
- 10:59Speaker 2: to see the Acclaimed in the spot two weeks after
- 11:02Speaker 2: all in anything you want to share about this pre show.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Match, really enjoyed the Iron Savages.
- 11:08Speaker 3: The weird little hand motion to motor boating thing is
- 11:11Speaker 3: kind of catchy.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Tity City.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Yes, if you say so.
- 11:16Speaker 2: That's what they call it. This is not my I
- 11:18Speaker 2: thought you.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Said RJ City, so I got confused for a second.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Fair fair enough, same thing, But yeah.
- 11:24Speaker 3: It was really for me, the biggest done for this
- 11:26Speaker 3: one was the fact that you had the acclaim that
- 11:28Speaker 3: we're just in a triple threat World Tight Team title
- 11:31Speaker 3: match as the opening match on the pre show, like,
- 11:35Speaker 3: not even the main event on the pre show like
- 11:37Speaker 3: the opening match. So maybe it's their way of kind of,
- 11:41Speaker 3: you know, getting the crowd fired up, but if you
- 11:44Speaker 3: need to get the crowd fired up for all out,
- 11:46Speaker 3: then you're probably having some other issues.
- 11:48Speaker 1: But it's just a weird spot for the BM.
- 11:49Speaker 3: But yeah, the Iron Savage has got a lot of
- 11:51Speaker 3: offense in for that match, but I think it was
- 11:54Speaker 3: mostly to lead to for some reason, Max Caster having
- 11:57Speaker 3: to pick up a big, giant man for some reason.
- 11:59Speaker 3: So outside that it was, it was a fun little
- 12:01Speaker 3: tag match and enjoyable to watch.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Hologram Sammycavar on Dustin Road defeated the Premier Athletes in
- 12:06Speaker 2: a trio match. Once again, we did not predict this one.
- 12:09Speaker 2: I hope they start to advanced Holograms booking, as I'm
- 12:11Speaker 2: interested to see how he would fare with some bigger
- 12:13Speaker 2: names in aw Also, how weird has Sammy Gazzar Sammy
- 12:18Speaker 2: Guvar's booking been in the last year. Uh. I think
- 12:21Speaker 2: it's due to being self inflicted, as he was spent
- 12:23Speaker 2: for a period of this time as well, But that
- 12:26Speaker 2: has been one of the most confusing things I've ever
- 12:27Speaker 2: seen for a guy who was considered to be or
- 12:29Speaker 2: is considered to be one of the pillars of aw
- 12:32Speaker 2: Doctor Trey, your thoughts on.
- 12:33Speaker 3: This one, Yeah, I mean it was a it was
- 12:35Speaker 3: a good little it was a good little six man
- 12:36Speaker 3: tag but like I'm watching this Cooks, I had not
- 12:38Speaker 3: really seen a lot of the hologram in person, just
- 12:41Speaker 3: the just kind of like some clips and stuff, and
- 12:44Speaker 3: for a brief moment I was convinced that was especially
- 12:47Speaker 3: saying Kara uh, but it wasn't. The Sammy Guvar booking
- 12:51Speaker 3: is weird. Seeing him and Dustin as a tag team
- 12:53Speaker 3: is still taking some getting used to. Not to mention,
- 12:57Speaker 3: Dustin is one third of the ring of our six
- 13:00Speaker 3: man tag team champions and neither of his partners were
- 13:03Speaker 3: in this match, so a.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Little confusing there as well.
- 13:06Speaker 3: But overall, like once again, this was the entire pre
- 13:09Speaker 3: show is they were kind of fun, silly nondescript matches,
- 13:14Speaker 3: but yeah, I'm kind of the Sami booking is weird.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Is Hologram gonna get the Commander treatment because or a
- 13:22Speaker 3: Kingo treatment because those guys were super over for a
- 13:24Speaker 3: little bit and then distant memories in the past. I
- 13:28Speaker 3: just I don't know what they're going to do with
- 13:31Speaker 3: this character who doesn't really speak and is kind of
- 13:35Speaker 3: a gimmick look.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I don't know what they're gonna do too.
- 13:38Speaker 2: I mean, I've been watching on collision and he is
- 13:40Speaker 2: very impressive. There are times that he does miss some
- 13:43Speaker 2: of his amazing spots, which should be a given at
- 13:46Speaker 2: Brussel Prus that he's human. The name is very lame
- 13:49Speaker 2: in very nineties, but I think they need to start
- 13:52Speaker 2: pushing them up a little bit because there have been
- 13:54Speaker 2: some highlight reel stuff and I think it's time coming
- 13:57Speaker 2: out of all out and all in to see what
- 13:59Speaker 2: we've got with them and if he's someone that can
- 14:01Speaker 2: stay up there with the best of them, So we
- 14:04Speaker 2: will see where things go from there. Next match here
- 14:06Speaker 2: is the Bang Bang Gang defeating the Dark Order in
- 14:08Speaker 2: trios match. Once again the not predict this one. The
- 14:11Speaker 2: Bank Bank Gang are super over and should be pushed more.
- 14:13Speaker 2: And I also miss the days when the Dark Order
- 14:15Speaker 2: we're featured more on AW television. I'm sure your thoughts
- 14:17Speaker 2: on this one.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I miss Johnny Hungy being on Dynamite more like
- 14:23Speaker 3: I can watch him wrestle all day long.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Now Evil, you know, I like Evil?
- 14:27Speaker 3: Who know? I like Alex Rams, but John Silver like
- 14:30Speaker 3: why he is not? Their version of Chad Gable makes
- 14:33Speaker 3: no sense to me? But the Bang Bang Gang and
- 14:37Speaker 3: Juice Robinson are just so over and so much fun
- 14:40Speaker 3: to watch, and I'm just itching for j White to
- 14:42Speaker 3: get back so they can be featured more because having
- 14:45Speaker 3: the acclaimed in the Bang Bang Gang on your pre
- 14:49Speaker 3: show is kind of a waste.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, It's just the whole pre show to
- 14:58Speaker 2: me in general, Doctor Troy was like just thrown together
- 15:01Speaker 2: matches and I did I did not understand the pre show.
- 15:04Speaker 2: I know we got one more match to go here,
- 15:05Speaker 2: but I actually was like irritated watching the pre show.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree.
- 15:10Speaker 2: So next match is the Undisputed Kingdom feeding the Beast.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Mortos and Shane Taylor Promotions in Action Andretti Anti Flight
- 15:16Speaker 2: Top Flight in a three way trios match did not
- 15:18Speaker 2: predict this one another strange throwaway match on the pre show,
- 15:22Speaker 2: as the Beast Mortos had been working with the Undisputed
- 15:24Speaker 2: Kingdom all the time leading up to this match. At
- 15:26Speaker 2: least aw cover that as a segment on Collision or
- 15:29Speaker 2: Rampage the day before, and I wonder what happened to Wardlow.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I just was saying the Undisputed Kingdom and I was like, man,
- 15:34Speaker 2: what the hell is Wardlow? They won this one, Doctor.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Trey, Yeah, I was.
- 15:39Speaker 3: I know they try to cover it, but I was like,
- 15:40Speaker 3: did Tony Kahn think Beast Mortos was black?
- 15:43Speaker 1: I don't.
- 15:43Speaker 3: I don't really understand. It was like, yeah, they covered it,
- 15:46Speaker 3: but still is like it's weird. And then you know
- 15:49Speaker 3: we had that weird appearance on Dynamite from him as
- 15:51Speaker 3: well to take out Ricochet.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I was like, does he I don't know what his
- 15:54Speaker 1: deal is, but yeah it was.
- 15:55Speaker 3: It was an interesting match in well done, but then
- 15:59Speaker 3: you know, heck, I got surprised with Donama. I forgot
- 16:03Speaker 3: Leo Rush was friends with Top Flight, so at least
- 16:06Speaker 3: that I'm like, okay, Like I like the I don't
- 16:10Speaker 3: hate the gear when they do the top gun version
- 16:14Speaker 3: of their gear, but the Flight Attendant Captain ones are
- 16:19Speaker 3: a little disconcerting at times, but yeah, I mean at
- 16:22Speaker 3: least Roddy and Tayvin and Bennett got a win because
- 16:25Speaker 3: those guys have been kind of the good soldiers for
- 16:30Speaker 3: everybody else they're trying to get over, So it's a
- 16:32Speaker 3: good victory for Undisputed Kingdom.
- 16:35Speaker 2: We have met our quote officially of mentioning something about
- 16:38Speaker 2: the top Flight uniforms. I think we're running on a
- 16:42Speaker 2: three week podcast streak, so stay tuned for next week
- 16:44Speaker 2: if we could talk about it, because I'm with doctor Trey.
- 16:46Speaker 2: It's it's one of those things I noticed every single time.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Sometimes they wear them, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they're different,
- 16:51Speaker 2: sometimes they're not there. You go Top Flight in Action
- 16:55Speaker 2: and treading in Leo rush All. Now in Flight weear
- 16:58Speaker 2: onto the main show. MJF defeats Daniel Garcia. We both
- 17:01Speaker 2: at MGF in this one. This was an interesting match
- 17:04Speaker 2: result with MJF getting the victory, but Daniel Garcia lays
- 17:06Speaker 2: them out post match despite MJF going away for a
- 17:09Speaker 2: bit to film something. I guess that's why they did
- 17:11Speaker 2: that angle. It appears there may be a contract issue
- 17:14Speaker 2: with Garcia then, because then that doesn't make sense to me.
- 17:17Speaker 2: When don't you have Garcia takeout MGF with the victory
- 17:19Speaker 2: and the postmatch injury angle if he is still with
- 17:22Speaker 2: aw not the way that they went about that. So
- 17:25Speaker 2: despite all that, Doctre I did think this was a
- 17:27Speaker 2: really fun opener's MJF defeeded Daniel Garcia.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Yeah, and a good bay to start of the show.
- 17:32Speaker 3: The crowd was super into it. They were really hyped
- 17:35Speaker 3: up for it. My thought on it was, okay, you
- 17:38Speaker 3: can have MJF sneak the win at because just like
- 17:41Speaker 3: we mentioned last week with Swarrez Strickle, do you really
- 17:43Speaker 3: want MJF losing back to back pay per views. This way,
- 17:47Speaker 3: MJF gets a win, Garcia still comes out strong, and
- 17:52Speaker 3: you can still write both guys off if you need
- 17:54Speaker 3: to if the movie or the contract situation takes place.
- 17:57Speaker 3: So but really really fun and enjoyable batch and just
- 18:02Speaker 3: love the fact that a pile driver is once again
- 18:06Speaker 3: an important wrestling move like it was as a kid.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Paul Ornhor's pile driver, you know, Don Morocco's pod Those
- 18:13Speaker 3: were like Killer Lawler, Jerry Lawler and then just got
- 18:17Speaker 3: banned and went away. Now one of them I don't
- 18:19Speaker 3: know if you saw the picture one of them that
- 18:21Speaker 3: Garcia hit on MJF looked really scary, look very reminiscent
- 18:25Speaker 3: of the owen Hart's stone Hole tombstone, like the way
- 18:28Speaker 3: the head was positioned. But just it's just good to
- 18:31Speaker 3: see that move VM using wrestling again.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Yeah and again, just on this whole thing, Doctor Trey.
- 18:35Speaker 2: I mean, whennt it made sense for Daniel Garcia to
- 18:38Speaker 2: win lay him out if he's staying with AW.
- 18:41Speaker 3: If he's staying with AW, but if the contract's up
- 18:43Speaker 3: in the air, MJF getting the win, but Garcia getting
- 18:47Speaker 3: a measure of revenge that way, if at the contract doesn't
- 18:50Speaker 3: work out, he can ride off into the sunset and
- 18:53Speaker 3: be forgotten about in a year or so.
- 18:55Speaker 2: I will add, and this is going to be a
- 18:57Speaker 2: feme on the show. No follow up to this on
- 18:59Speaker 2: one Today's Dynamite. Next match, here is the Young Bucks
- 19:03Speaker 2: defeeding Blackpool Combat Club of Claudia Castilian Wielder Units, retaining
- 19:06Speaker 2: AW Tag Team Championship. We did not predict this one.
- 19:09Speaker 2: This is a really solid tag team match with an
- 19:11Speaker 2: awful finish. I kind of want the Young Bucks to
- 19:14Speaker 2: get back to the good old days as I felt
- 19:15Speaker 2: like this EVP angle has ran its course. I'm not
- 19:18Speaker 2: sure why Claudio and you were the number one contenders
- 19:20Speaker 2: for the tag titles, but here we are when it
- 19:21Speaker 2: comes to Aw's booking. That's sure. Your thoughts on this
- 19:24Speaker 2: one is the Young Bucks tofeed the Blackpool Combat Club.
- 19:27Speaker 3: Well, they weren't the number one contenders. They just asked
- 19:30Speaker 3: for the match, so they got a match. So it
- 19:34Speaker 3: wasn't that they were number one rated. They were just like, hey,
- 19:37Speaker 3: we want to shot. No you don't get one. Well,
- 19:39Speaker 3: you guys are chickens. Okay, now you get one. So
- 19:41Speaker 3: that was basically the storyline leading into it. I thought
- 19:44Speaker 3: this match was okay, but just it just felt like
- 19:49Speaker 3: a filler spot kind of tag team match, and the
- 19:52Speaker 3: finish was really bad. So it was okay, but not
- 19:56Speaker 3: up to the level of Widow the Bucks in Claudio
- 19:59Speaker 3: and Dic couldn't if really given the opportunity in a
- 20:02Speaker 3: little bit of a storyline.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Next match year is will Osprey defeating Pak to retaindy
- 20:06Speaker 2: AW International Championship. We both had will ospray this one
- 20:09Speaker 2: my recap in this and I just simply wrote, holy shit,
- 20:12Speaker 2: that was a lot of fun. That's the recap.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Yeah, that's about what I had written down too. I
- 20:19Speaker 3: was like, dear God, I forgot how good pak can
- 20:22Speaker 3: be when given the opportunity. Every time I see will Osprey,
- 20:26Speaker 3: I like him more and more, And this was just
- 20:29Speaker 3: an amazing match. I don't know what else in the
- 20:31Speaker 3: shows or on this car is going.
- 20:32Speaker 2: To top it. Will Osprey is a star of my friends.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Chris Statlander defeats Willow Night and Gallon of Chicago Street Fight.
- 20:38Speaker 2: We both had Chris Statlander and this one. Stan Lander
- 20:40Speaker 2: and Willow had the tough task of following Osprey park
- 20:42Speaker 2: and they delivered. And then some incredible performance by both
- 20:46Speaker 2: women and a nice bounce back went for stat Lander,
- 20:48Speaker 2: who really need the victory. She has taken too many
- 20:50Speaker 2: l's lately. I also guess this wasn't for the CMOL
- 20:53Speaker 2: World Women's World Championship, Doctor Trey. Your thoughts on this one?
- 20:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought that was what was like.
- 21:01Speaker 3: This might be the best women's street fight I have
- 21:03Speaker 3: seen in the last few years, arguably Willow's best match
- 21:08Speaker 3: I've ever seen Willow have.
- 21:11Speaker 1: And just a lot of fun.
- 21:14Speaker 3: For these two, Like how do you follow up ospray
- 21:18Speaker 3: and Poc and be on level. I was amazed at
- 21:22Speaker 3: how good this match was, so kudos a both those girls.
- 21:25Speaker 1: They absolutely killed it.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Next match is Cazisco Kata defeating Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassie,
- 21:30Speaker 2: Kenoski Takashka in a fatal four way match, retaining the
- 21:32Speaker 2: AW Continental Championship. We did not predict this one. I
- 21:35Speaker 2: really liked the night before that they made this a
- 21:37Speaker 2: big part of Collision on Friday night heading into AW
- 21:40Speaker 2: all in are all out, excuse me? And I thought
- 21:43Speaker 2: that was really good and smart booking by AW creatively
- 21:46Speaker 2: because I'm going to bash them for some stuff here.
- 21:49Speaker 2: This match reminded me how I much how much I
- 21:51Speaker 2: enjoy watching Okada, Oc, Brisco and Takeshko Russell. I hope
- 21:55Speaker 2: we get to see more Continental title matches on AW
- 21:57Speaker 2: because I feel like it's become a forgotten title since
- 21:59Speaker 2: Okada was champion, and we need more title defenses from
- 22:02Speaker 2: the rain Maker. It's like that's all I can think about.
- 22:05Speaker 2: I'm like, wait, why don't we get this more. There
- 22:07Speaker 2: was a period of time the International Championship and in
- 22:09Speaker 2: the Condinal Championship were defended so many times on television,
- 22:13Speaker 2: and now we barely get it, Doctor Trey. Your thoughts
- 22:15Speaker 2: on this one as Ocada retains.
- 22:18Speaker 1: I kind of thought the same thing.
- 22:19Speaker 2: I was like.
- 22:19Speaker 1: I was like, I love seeing o'cad in the ring.
- 22:21Speaker 1: He's fun.
- 22:21Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to Acata and Takeshko when that happens.
- 22:25Speaker 3: And I blame will Ospray for not having more Ocata
- 22:27Speaker 3: matches because they have will Lost Spray like literally in
- 22:31Speaker 3: everything right now. So yeah, it was really fun match.
- 22:35Speaker 3: I love Mark brisco I Orange Cassidy's fun. Like this
- 22:39Speaker 3: is a really fun for a match that really didn't
- 22:43Speaker 3: get a whole like I mean literally is like a
- 22:44Speaker 3: one day build to it, but it kind of worked,
- 22:47Speaker 3: so it was. It was a good four way match
- 22:50Speaker 3: and really entertaining.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Next match here, as Mercedes Monet defeending Nakarls Sheeta retain
- 22:54Speaker 2: the AWTBS Championship both with that Monau and this one.
- 22:57Speaker 2: I don't know if there was a miscommunication between Mo
- 23:00Speaker 2: and Cheetah, but Mercedes kicking out at one and rolling
- 23:03Speaker 2: out of the ring after three consecutive Katana kicks also
- 23:06Speaker 2: known as Sheeta's finisher, was a really odd look. Other
- 23:10Speaker 2: than that spot, I thought this was a nice bounce
- 23:12Speaker 2: back match for Monett after a match with Britt Baker
- 23:14Speaker 2: all in which was not good. I really hope she'd
- 23:17Speaker 2: get some consistent booking because I do enjoy her work. Doc,
- 23:20Speaker 2: suree your thoughts on this one.
- 23:21Speaker 3: I thought it was a slightly better match for Monet
- 23:25Speaker 3: than against Baker. I couldn't figure out if Monette was
- 23:30Speaker 3: just no selling Cheetah for the sake of pissing her off,
- 23:33Speaker 3: or if it was Lyargy's miscommunication. But I also realized
- 23:37Speaker 3: I would much rather watch Mariah Bay than Mercedes Money
- 23:41Speaker 3: any day of the week.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Just way more entertaining.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Like just the segment that Mariah May had began the
- 23:48Speaker 3: show with Sky Blue was more entertaining to me.
- 23:50Speaker 1: The dispatch next match.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Here is Brian Danielson defeating Jack Perry to retain the
- 23:55Speaker 2: aw World Championship. Hold on to this one here, Doctor Trey,
- 23:59Speaker 2: we both at Brian Daniels annoying this one. You know
- 24:02Speaker 2: how in wrestling you'll hear legends say that fans can
- 24:04Speaker 2: tell when something is bullshit. Well, Jack Perry playing some
- 24:09Speaker 2: sort of badass rebel is that bullshit that I could
- 24:12Speaker 2: smell out as a wrestling fan. His character slash Kimmick
- 24:15Speaker 2: is not working with me and he should go back
- 24:18Speaker 2: to the character he portrayed pre all in twenty twenty
- 24:20Speaker 2: three when he was coming out with the classical music.
- 24:24Speaker 2: I thought that was really good before he was suspended.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Referee Bryce Remsburg breaking up the small package pin was
- 24:31Speaker 2: also a really bad look in this one. With all
- 24:34Speaker 2: that said, I will give the scapegoat his due, which
- 24:38Speaker 2: was he held his own in this match with Danielson,
- 24:40Speaker 2: and the entering storytelling was really good. The postmatch angles
- 24:43Speaker 2: were the best stuff from the segment, from the interaction
- 24:45Speaker 2: between Killswitch and Jack Perry to the BCC turning on
- 24:48Speaker 2: Danielson made creative sense. We got an explanation as to
- 24:53Speaker 2: Moxley and Pock's BCC status, and you to being upset
- 24:56Speaker 2: with his mentor Danielson being taken out made sense as well.
- 25:00Speaker 2: There have been some stuff from Dynamite that has not
- 25:02Speaker 2: made sense when it comes to this angle, which I'll
- 25:04Speaker 2: get to you here once we recap this pay per view,
- 25:07Speaker 2: But looking at the show itself, Doctor Trey, that was
- 25:09Speaker 2: my thoughts as Brian Danielson retained over Jack Perry.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I literally when I'm watching this scapegoat thing. I
- 25:16Speaker 3: literally think I just wish he would do a Hollywood
- 25:19Speaker 3: Jack Perry gimmick. I get why you're doing it, but
- 25:22Speaker 3: now I mean the stuff with punk and everything else.
- 25:25Speaker 3: That's been almost a year. Now let it go, move
- 25:29Speaker 3: on to something else. A Hollywood Jack Perry paired with
- 25:33Speaker 3: the Bucks. It makes a lot more sense. The characters
- 25:35Speaker 3: would be more in alignment. Him doing like this mad
- 25:39Speaker 3: Max type thing at times doesn't make a lot of sense,
- 25:41Speaker 3: especially when you're one hundred and ninety pounds. In this match,
- 25:45Speaker 3: it worked because Brian Danielson is one hundred and ninety
- 25:47Speaker 3: pounds also, so it made it worked out. The match
- 25:50Speaker 3: itself I thought was really well done. It's a universal
- 25:54Speaker 3: wrestling questions of did Jack Perry hold his own or
- 25:57Speaker 3: did Brian Danielson carry him through the match? I think
- 25:59Speaker 3: this is much more Perry can wrestle. He's just the
- 26:03Speaker 3: character doesn't fit what he does. I loved Claudio and
- 26:07Speaker 3: you'd to cut it coming out to initially cut off
- 26:10Speaker 3: the Bucks, and then when it led into the turn postmatch,
- 26:14Speaker 3: I thought it made a ton of sense. It really worked.
- 26:17Speaker 3: One of the best turns we've seen in wrestling in
- 26:20Speaker 3: quite some time, even though, yeah, it's gonna get remembered
- 26:22Speaker 3: as the plastic bag incident. But for the most part,
- 26:25Speaker 3: seeing Mox and Pak and Claudio turn on Brian Nilson,
- 26:29Speaker 3: I thought that was really really cool and gave the
- 26:31Speaker 3: BCC some direction finally because they haven't had some in
- 26:35Speaker 3: a while.
- 26:36Speaker 1: So love the match, love the finish.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Just great overall, other than just Jack Perry trying to
- 26:42Speaker 3: be and you're right, the kill switch Jack Perry thing
- 26:45Speaker 3: was really cool as well.
- 26:47Speaker 2: I saw something online that it had a picture of
- 26:50Speaker 2: Jack Perry and Raven next to one another, because he's
- 26:52Speaker 2: doing the Raven post a lot of times, and they
- 26:55Speaker 2: called Jack Perry Timo's version of Raven, which I thought
- 27:00Speaker 2: was a great line. It's just not working for him.
- 27:04Speaker 2: This the bus and rolling up and I'm supposed to
- 27:07Speaker 2: believe that this son of a very famous nineties actor
- 27:14Speaker 2: is some sort of badass and he just got punked
- 27:17Speaker 2: out by CM punk via the footage that they themselves
- 27:20Speaker 2: shared a couple months ago on aw Television. It's just
- 27:23Speaker 2: it's not working. It's not working at all. I can't
- 27:26Speaker 2: believe it, and you could smell it a mile away.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Yeah, he needs a ward Low a Keith Lee Sin's
- 27:33Speaker 3: he's not doing anything right. He needs some muscle behind
- 27:36Speaker 3: him really for this character, he needs a kill switch
- 27:39Speaker 3: for this character to really work. He needs some muscle
- 27:43Speaker 3: behind him because then it makes it look more like
- 27:46Speaker 3: he's a cultish leader and people could buy it, like
- 27:50Speaker 3: much like Christian Cage has going on or some of
- 27:52Speaker 3: the other people, or even though like dawaias sixty degree,
- 27:55Speaker 3: if you have that character with a following, that's great.
- 27:59Speaker 3: But so and that character is a sidekick in a faction,
- 28:04Speaker 3: it doesn't work as well.
- 28:06Speaker 2: We'll get to some of the BCC stuff here once
- 28:08Speaker 2: we recap again, but yeah, feel free to chime in
- 28:10Speaker 2: at SRTU podcast with anything that we've said so far
- 28:13Speaker 2: in regards to all out from this past Saturday. With
- 28:16Speaker 2: that said, to the main event here is Hangman Adam
- 28:18Speaker 2: Page defeat Swerve Strickling in a steel cage match. We
- 28:21Speaker 2: both had a Hangman Adam Page in this one. Hangman
- 28:24Speaker 2: Page walking out of the heel tunnel and embracing the
- 28:26Speaker 2: dark side was a really nice subtle start to this
- 28:28Speaker 2: match that he'ped prepare for what was expected during this match.
- 28:32Speaker 2: The spot to this one were something Swerve Staple in
- 28:35Speaker 2: the family photos from the house buying segment onto Hangman's body,
- 28:38Speaker 2: the cinder block vertebreaker, Swerve stabbing Hangman with a burnt
- 28:42Speaker 2: piece of wood from his house, Hangman power bombing Swerve
- 28:46Speaker 2: on a cinderblock, the hyperdermic needle into Swerve's cheek, and
- 28:50Speaker 2: finally the last chair shot to the head leading to
- 28:53Speaker 2: Hangman's victory. This was gory, rustling cinema and this is
- 28:56Speaker 2: the best feud AW has ever produced. Its version of
- 29:00Speaker 2: Raven Dreamer and Stein Generico. Hangman being broken post match
- 29:04Speaker 2: with the crowd being silent was something, and it was
- 29:07Speaker 2: a cool one eighty for his once lovable character. And
- 29:09Speaker 2: I love the closing shot of an insane Hangman screaming
- 29:12Speaker 2: to close the show. Doctor Trey, your thoughts on this.
- 29:15Speaker 3: One one of It's a weird thing for me to
- 29:20Speaker 3: say this. At times I felt they did too much,
- 29:26Speaker 3: but some of the stuff they did I have never
- 29:28Speaker 3: seen before, which blows me away. The very beginning of
- 29:32Speaker 3: them lowering the cage and trying to wedge each other's
- 29:36Speaker 3: head into the cage as it's lowering, I'm like, Okay,
- 29:39Speaker 3: that's really cool.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Never seen them before.
- 29:41Speaker 3: The so of the cinder blocks, I'm like, all right,
- 29:44Speaker 3: maybe a bit much like a verte breaker onto a
- 29:46Speaker 3: cinder block. The verte breaker has literally ended people's careers
- 29:50Speaker 3: and was banned in multiple states for a long time
- 29:54Speaker 3: because of about dangerous to do it onto a cinder
- 29:57Speaker 3: block and the match continue, I thought was a little
- 30:01Speaker 3: too much, But overall this might have been the best
- 30:05Speaker 3: steel cage match I've seen in a decade.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Just the steel cage much, I gotta.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Say, with the pile driver for many a many year
- 30:13Speaker 3: was like the pen ultimate way to end a feud
- 30:17Speaker 3: and has gotten kind of misplaced over the past few years.
- 30:21Speaker 3: This was as brutal of a cage match as I
- 30:25Speaker 3: have seen since the old NWA days of like Dusty
- 30:28Speaker 3: and Flair for crying out loud, just brutal, crazy, over
- 30:33Speaker 3: the top, as much fun as you can have watching
- 30:36Speaker 3: a wrestling match and still suspending disbelief and going what
- 30:41Speaker 3: the F did I just see here?
- 30:44Speaker 1: Just for as like as over the top.
- 30:47Speaker 3: As it was at times, it was just maybe the
- 30:50Speaker 3: most fun I've had watching a wrestling match in quite
- 30:52Speaker 3: some time.
- 30:53Speaker 2: You know what's a good thing that aw did here
- 30:55Speaker 2: is you go back to the full gear match, and
- 30:57Speaker 2: there was a lot of stuff that we actually discussed
- 30:59Speaker 2: in that match. We liked that match, but we were like,
- 31:01Speaker 2: I think they went a little bit too far and
- 31:02Speaker 2: it was too much. Being that they already like broke
- 31:05Speaker 2: that wall down, anything that they did in this match
- 31:07Speaker 2: did not surprise me at all. Even the hypodermic needle.
- 31:10Speaker 2: I'm like, it's a little bit like like, oh my god,
- 31:13Speaker 2: like queasy, like looking at it. Done. Not the biggest
- 31:16Speaker 2: fan of needles, and they're putting in his mouth. I'm like,
- 31:18Speaker 2: this is insane. And I'm almost positive that Hangman wanted
- 31:22Speaker 2: to puncture it through his cheek, like that was the
- 31:24Speaker 2: spot that they were looking for and it just wasn't working.
- 31:28Speaker 1: That was.
- 31:30Speaker 2: What these guys come up with for this match is insane.
- 31:34Speaker 2: But the entire feud itself, I mean, obviously those two
- 31:37Speaker 2: guys are playing a massive hand in how the direction
- 31:39Speaker 2: their feud's going. Whoever is creatively helping build this feud,
- 31:43Speaker 2: I mean, all of them, who everybody's involved, deserves to
- 31:46Speaker 2: like take a mass about, like let's let's break the
- 31:48Speaker 2: fourth wall on an upcoming dynamite. All these people come
- 31:50Speaker 2: out and they just take a bow Well, give him
- 31:52Speaker 2: a noster or whatever, because it has been really good
- 31:55Speaker 2: wrestling cinema, and I think what's most important here, Doctor Trey.
- 31:58Speaker 2: There were some parts of this throughout the entire show
- 32:00Speaker 2: that did this as well, including that BCC angle at
- 32:03Speaker 2: all out it proved that AW can deliver from a
- 32:08Speaker 2: storyline standpoint, because we saw that come ahead with this
- 32:13Speaker 2: feud and match and build since Hangman's been back on television.
- 32:16Speaker 2: I mean, this entire feud has been phenomenal and it's
- 32:19Speaker 2: been start stop. I think it came together very organically.
- 32:22Speaker 2: And you know, Joe Swerve is the joker to Hangman's batman.
- 32:29Speaker 2: I mean he turned Hangman to a heel. He turned
- 32:33Speaker 2: him into a bad guy. And who would have thunked that,
- 32:36Speaker 2: you know, a year and a half ago when he
- 32:38Speaker 2: was this clean cut baby face that did cowboys shit
- 32:41Speaker 2: on AW television. Again, my only issue with this going
- 32:45Speaker 2: back to like how I felt with the MGF Daniel
- 32:47Speaker 2: Garcia stuff, Doctor Trey no follow up on Wednesday's Dynamite.
- 32:51Speaker 2: I was disappointed to see that nothing from Hangman, no segment.
- 32:55Speaker 1: No, No, there was Hangman backstage.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Oh that's right, he did the stuff backstay Okay, yeah,
- 33:03Speaker 2: the dark order. People weren't looking at him and all
- 33:05Speaker 2: that stuff. Jeff Jarrett, Yes, the stuff with Jeff Jarrett. Yes,
- 33:09Speaker 2: you're absolutely right. This is what I get for watching
- 33:11Speaker 2: aw at two am when I'm feeding my son and bottle.
- 33:15Speaker 2: But yeah, no, you're right, that did carry over. The
- 33:17Speaker 2: only thing with that is I just didn't felt like
- 33:19Speaker 2: it was. I guess it's impactful because it didn't resonate
- 33:22Speaker 2: with me.
- 33:23Speaker 3: Well, there's the weird thing for me was Hangman saying
- 33:28Speaker 3: and if you tried to help him or stop me
- 33:31Speaker 3: in this, you're on I'm coming for you next. And
- 33:35Speaker 3: I was like, well, who was that was? I mean,
- 33:38Speaker 3: the only person really they got involved this whole angle
- 33:40Speaker 3: was Jeff Jarrett. So and then they played that off
- 33:42Speaker 3: a little bit, and Jarrett was mad that Hangman touched Karen.
- 33:45Speaker 3: So I was like, who's there's still we need direction
- 33:51Speaker 3: or we need I guess a little cleaner follow up
- 33:55Speaker 3: than what we saw. Even you know, you look at
- 33:57Speaker 3: him going you've changed, Okay, didn't you guys turn a heel?
- 34:02Speaker 3: Also when din'd you guys be embracing this darker side?
- 34:04Speaker 3: I this is and this is I guess a little
- 34:08Speaker 3: bit of the issue I have with AW is like
- 34:11Speaker 3: they forget sometimes or they just don't give a crap
- 34:14Speaker 3: as to what direction a character's going, So then it's
- 34:20Speaker 3: like they or at least they only do it with
- 34:22Speaker 3: like the main event guys, like the the mid card
- 34:25Speaker 3: and the undercar guys. They forget stuff at times. But
- 34:29Speaker 3: but yeah, I mean, at least that one did have
- 34:31Speaker 3: a slight follow up and they didn't just ignore that, Hey,
- 34:34Speaker 3: our main event match, we're not going to say anything
- 34:37Speaker 3: about on the very next episode of Dynamite.
- 34:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yep, no, you were right. I did forget about
- 34:43Speaker 2: that segment. I guess I would have liked to see
- 34:47Speaker 2: something a little bit more of those impactful like I
- 34:48Speaker 2: love the stuff with Moxley at the start of Dynamite,
- 34:50Speaker 2: Like I thought that was memorable. That was a really good,
- 34:53Speaker 2: you know, opening segment that they did there to recap
- 34:55Speaker 2: everything from all out. I guess Word is going away
- 34:59Speaker 2: for a little bit. He's potentially filming something, So him
- 35:02Speaker 2: and MGF are filming something, which is not great. I
- 35:04Speaker 2: don't know if they're not if they're filming together, but
- 35:08Speaker 2: it's a buddy cop drama that they're doing. Comedy but yeah,
- 35:13Speaker 2: he's off of television for a little bit. I guess
- 35:14Speaker 2: according to reports with in regards to Swerve, which is
- 35:17Speaker 2: a bummer. You got to figure that this feud picks
- 35:19Speaker 2: back up again. I hope it continues Doctor Trey once
- 35:23Speaker 2: Swerve comes back. I would love to see whether they're actors, actresses, whatever.
- 35:28Speaker 2: But I think you got to get Hangman's family involved
- 35:31Speaker 2: at this point, right, Like his wife and his kids
- 35:33Speaker 2: need to, you know, have a segment and be like,
- 35:35Speaker 2: we need our dad back, we need our husband back,
- 35:37Speaker 2: Like who are you anymore? Like get the crowded gasp
- 35:40Speaker 2: and all that crap. I think that's kind of what's
- 35:42Speaker 2: missing here.
- 35:44Speaker 3: I think one of the line that Jared said is
- 35:46Speaker 3: that the toughest opponent some like, when you go down
- 35:48Speaker 3: this path, the toughest opponent you'll have is the.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Man you're facing in the mirror.
- 35:52Speaker 3: And I'm waiting for the segment where you see Hangman
- 35:55Speaker 3: fighting with himself in his house, his wife and his
- 35:58Speaker 3: kids around, and Hangman looks at them and Swerve a
- 36:01Speaker 3: staring back at him in the mirror.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Cool stuff like that.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Stuff like that would be really impactful to kind of
- 36:07Speaker 3: show why he's gone off the rails. But you know,
- 36:11Speaker 3: like that's that's the thing that the w like certain
- 36:14Speaker 3: storylines they play. I mean, hell, they're playing off at
- 36:16Speaker 3: angle from four and a half years.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Ago right now. Like they do have the ability to
- 36:21Speaker 1: do stuff.
- 36:22Speaker 3: It's just that sometimes they like they have Sammy Govarber's
- 36:27Speaker 3: Ricochet for no apparent reason other than somebody said, oh, I'd.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Love to see those guys go at it. They're they're high.
- 36:32Speaker 3: Flyers, So I mean, doesn't really play No, a storyline,
- 36:35Speaker 3: doesn't really play into the way things have been booked,
- 36:37Speaker 3: and then hey, we should just have Morto Spear Ricochet
- 36:40Speaker 3: for no apparent reason other than he's bored and Ricochet
- 36:45Speaker 3: Sometimes where's Red and I don't know, I don't know.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Is a big fan of the Chicago Bulls.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean that's and that's the thing that drives
- 36:54Speaker 3: me nuts sometimes is like they'll they'll play stuff off
- 36:56Speaker 3: that's really well in a great angle, and then they
- 36:59Speaker 3: have other stuff that you're just like, why, like by
- 37:03Speaker 3: the way, when you put by the way, I don't
- 37:04Speaker 3: this is a nipicking thing.
- 37:05Speaker 1: And I know we're getting off track here. That match
- 37:07Speaker 1: with govar Ricochet.
- 37:09Speaker 3: Why do you do a moon salt off the top
- 37:11Speaker 3: of the stage like four minutes into the match, and
- 37:14Speaker 3: at the eight minute Matt, at the eight minute.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Mark, you're doing at chinlock like that makes no sense.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I don't. I don't see what you're upset about. This
- 37:25Speaker 2: is what you're upset about. So there you go. It was.
- 37:29Speaker 2: It was cinema. I think it's like Batman and Joker
- 37:31Speaker 2: for AW. I love the stuff with Swerve laughing at
- 37:34Speaker 2: the end before Hangman finished him off because I could
- 37:38Speaker 2: be perceived that Swerve is laughing because he got him
- 37:41Speaker 2: to the dark side. I mean, there was a lot
- 37:43Speaker 2: of great stuff it was. It was really really well done.
- 37:46Speaker 2: With that said, let's give our match to the night
- 37:49Speaker 2: an event rating. Doug Tray, I always seem to go first,
- 37:52Speaker 2: so why don't you go first? What was your event
- 37:54Speaker 2: rating for all out? What was your match of the night?
- 37:57Speaker 1: My event rate was at four point one.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Really solid show with some really memorable, really memorable stuff
- 38:03Speaker 3: that we'll remember five ten years from now.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Match of the night.
- 38:07Speaker 3: I think I'm gonna go Swerve in page just because
- 38:09Speaker 3: they kept upping the A like you wet a great point.
- 38:12Speaker 3: They've upped the ante every single match they've had in
- 38:16Speaker 3: this feud, and if they go to a fourth match,
- 38:19Speaker 3: I don't know what ups it from here other than
- 38:21Speaker 3: literally just setting somebody on fire.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Yeah, well, let me get there's some point. We've seen
- 38:26Speaker 2: that already once before. In aw my event reading, I
- 38:29Speaker 2: gave it a three point seven out of five. I
- 38:31Speaker 2: didn't fully love the show. I thought there was a
- 38:33Speaker 2: couple of gaps, but there's some really good stuff that
- 38:35Speaker 2: went on there. M Jeff Danglarcia, Willow and Stat and
- 38:40Speaker 2: Osprey and Pack and I liked the Danielson angle at
- 38:43Speaker 2: the Inn, and I liked obviously Swerve and Hangman, But
- 38:47Speaker 2: I thought there was a lot of stuff that was
- 38:49Speaker 2: kind of filler in there, including stuff with ap pre
- 38:50Speaker 2: show that we talked about. My match to the night
- 38:53Speaker 2: was will Osprey Park. I love that match, but that
- 38:55Speaker 2: was very hard not picking Hangman out in Page and
- 38:58Speaker 2: Swarp Stroke Clane. I feel like you can't go wrong
- 39:01Speaker 2: picking either one of those matches from the show, Doctor Trey.
- 39:03Speaker 3: Yeah, let me ask you this, if you cut out
- 39:05Speaker 3: the pre show, would your rating be higher?
- 39:09Speaker 2: I think just even looking at the main card, like
- 39:12Speaker 2: Bucks Blackpool Combat Club wasn't a big fan of Ocada, Briscoe,
- 39:16Speaker 2: Cassie Takeshko was okay, Mercedes Mona Hikarashida I did not
- 39:21Speaker 2: fully enjoy. I thought it was fine, and I thought
- 39:24Speaker 2: Danielson and Perry ran a little bit too long for
- 39:26Speaker 2: my liking. I just I didn't find the show completely
- 39:32Speaker 2: top to bottom like entertaining in that sense.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean for me, the Seeta Mona mash kind
- 39:38Speaker 3: of was blah. The Bucks match was kind of but
- 39:43Speaker 3: just about everything else I was, I got really into,
- 39:46Speaker 3: which for an aw show, I can't really say that.
- 39:48Speaker 1: All that often. So that's like.
- 39:51Speaker 3: I always kind of base mine off. Is there gonna
- 39:53Speaker 3: be something that I remember years from now? And I
- 39:55Speaker 3: think I got two of those moments between the Hangman
- 39:59Speaker 3: pay or the Hangman's Worst stuff and then the BCC turned,
- 40:03Speaker 3: So I'll have stuff I remember from this, you know,
- 40:05Speaker 3: five years from now.
- 40:06Speaker 2: The only thing I will say to this because a
- 40:08Speaker 2: couple of months ago, I thought the EVPs Jack Perry
- 40:11Speaker 2: taken out Tony Kahan segment was gonna be one of
- 40:13Speaker 2: those things that we would remember forever and maybe we'd
- 40:15Speaker 2: still do because that's what happened. That to me has
- 40:19Speaker 2: not resonated as an impactful moment, you know, months later.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Yeah, but then Tony Kahn's never done anything for retribution,
- 40:26Speaker 3: which is why it kind of fell by the wayside.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Well, he's just had hired He's just hired Christopher Daniels
- 40:31Speaker 2: to do his dirty work, which is strange. All Right.
- 40:34Speaker 2: With that said, let's just I want to move over
- 40:36Speaker 2: to this conversation here who should be the one that
- 40:39Speaker 2: ends Brian Danielson's full time wrestling career. And I had
- 40:43Speaker 2: mentioned earlier on that I was going to talk a
- 40:45Speaker 2: little bit about some creative stuff that I did not
- 40:47Speaker 2: enjoy from Dynamite following up from the whole all out show,
- 40:52Speaker 2: and that one thing is the Moxley angle and Darby
- 40:56Speaker 2: Allen and Nigel McGinnis heading into Grand Slam. I really
- 40:59Speaker 2: liked the opening of Dynamite. I thought it was a really,
- 41:01Speaker 2: really great way to recap, and I like the explanations
- 41:03Speaker 2: from John Moxley. And then Moxley and Darby have their
- 41:07Speaker 2: moment and he says, Darby's not ready hand over your
- 41:12Speaker 2: title shot for an aw World Championship match because the
- 41:16Speaker 2: match that you were guaranteed to have at Grand Slam
- 41:18Speaker 2: against Brian Danielson is not happening because he's incapacitated, and
- 41:23Speaker 2: I was like, okay, this makes that makes sense. Now
- 41:25Speaker 2: he wants to have the championship. He doesn't think Darby's ready.
- 41:28Speaker 2: He wants me the one that wins the championship and
- 41:30Speaker 2: take over the company, at which Moxley said, and then
- 41:34Speaker 2: he says that Danielson's in capacitated, he won't be at
- 41:36Speaker 2: Grand Slam. And then Nigel McGinnis comes out and challenges
- 41:41Speaker 2: Brian Danielson to a match of Grand Slam, and Tony
- 41:43Speaker 2: Kahn green lights it in storyline standpoint, and they said
- 41:47Speaker 2: that the only way this happens is if Brian Danielson
- 41:49Speaker 2: gets cleared in the next two weeks from the match,
- 41:51Speaker 2: And that explanation did not make me feel good at all,
- 41:58Speaker 2: Doctor Trey. And this actually ties into you, who I
- 42:01Speaker 2: think should be the one that ends Brian Danielson's full
- 42:03Speaker 2: time wresting career. I thought that was shit booking, I
- 42:06Speaker 2: really did. I think it started off good, that made sense,
- 42:09Speaker 2: but you keep Danielson off that card. I want to
- 42:11Speaker 2: see him and Nigel go at it. But it's like,
- 42:15Speaker 2: I have an idea what they're doing here, which I
- 42:17Speaker 2: will get to you in just second, But I thought
- 42:19Speaker 2: that was shit booking in regards to what they're doing
- 42:23Speaker 2: with Brian Danilson post aw all out.
- 42:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought it made absolutely zero sense because Darby
- 42:32Speaker 3: is scheduled to have this match. Moxley comes out and
- 42:36Speaker 3: just like you said, Moxie comes out, says Daniel says a.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Capacity, he won't be able to do it. Dad.
- 42:41Speaker 3: I'm like, all right, cool, that makes sense that way,
- 42:43Speaker 3: you're not kind of screwing Darby here, Like I get
- 42:46Speaker 3: why you're doing it. It makes sense, but to him.
- 42:51Speaker 3: And then when Nigel comes out and says, you know,
- 42:53Speaker 3: the way he set it up, thats like Dalels has
- 42:55Speaker 3: been ducking in.
- 42:56Speaker 1: This is the match that he's been wanting. Da Dada.
- 42:58Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, it makes sense. But then have it
- 43:00Speaker 3: go into the same show that forty five minutes earlier
- 43:05Speaker 3: you just said he's incapacitated but now he might be ready.
- 43:11Speaker 3: Well that that just kind of screwed everything up. It
- 43:13Speaker 3: didn't make a ton of sense to me so as much.
- 43:17Speaker 3: And the bad thing is both matches I really do
- 43:20Speaker 3: want to see you do want to see Darby and
- 43:22Speaker 3: John Mossey go at its. I want to see Nigel
- 43:25Speaker 3: and Brian Nilsen go at its, but to get to
- 43:28Speaker 3: it made zero sense, and you kind of just blew
- 43:31Speaker 3: everything else up in your face in the process, like
- 43:34Speaker 3: it just didn't work for me. And it's still you
- 43:37Speaker 3: got Jack Perry out there still doing yes, you know,
- 43:40Speaker 3: mocking Daniel Brian or excuse me, Brian Danielson with the
- 43:43Speaker 3: the yes move and stuff, and it's like, are are
- 43:46Speaker 3: we going back to that as well? Is that still
- 43:49Speaker 3: part of this whole angle? And him just kind of
- 43:52Speaker 3: storming off like it just wasn't well thought out to
- 43:58Speaker 3: get to where you wanted to get. I don't mind
- 44:02Speaker 3: where you want to get to, but at least let
- 44:04Speaker 3: the path make sense.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Yeah, again, I agree with you. These are two matches
- 44:08Speaker 2: I want to see, and the entire thing of itself,
- 44:13Speaker 2: like if you separate both storylines from one another, it
- 44:16Speaker 2: makes sense. It's like, oh, okay, that makes sense why
- 44:18Speaker 2: Moxley wants to do it, but maybe you do. Nigel
- 44:21Speaker 2: versus Danielsen at Wressell Dream a couple of weeks later
- 44:24Speaker 2: and Danielson's cleared and we'll figure out if Moxley or
- 44:28Speaker 2: Darby has won you know that opportunity for a title
- 44:31Speaker 2: match post Russell Dream maybe you do it a full
- 44:35Speaker 2: gear And then that takes me to what I think
- 44:37Speaker 2: is going on right now. So who should be the
- 44:39Speaker 2: one that ends Brian Danielson's full time wrestling career for
- 44:43Speaker 2: argument's sake here, for discussion sake, doctor Trial, just come
- 44:45Speaker 2: out and say that I think it should be Darby Allen.
- 44:47Speaker 2: There were reports out there pre all in that if
- 44:51Speaker 2: Danielsen were to win, he was going to drop the
- 44:52Speaker 2: title like pretty immediately to Darby Allen at Grand Slam
- 44:55Speaker 2: because he had won the Royal Rampage match to have
- 44:59Speaker 2: a championship title shot at Grand Slam in late September.
- 45:03Speaker 2: And then I started noticing Wressell Dreams coming up twenty
- 45:06Speaker 2: twenty four, and it's in Tacoma, Washington. You got two
- 45:09Speaker 2: Washington boys, Brian Danielson and you got Darby Allen. And
- 45:13Speaker 2: if there was a place that they want to crown
- 45:16Speaker 2: Darby Allen champion, it is in front of the hometown crowd.
- 45:20Speaker 2: And to me, I think that's what we're getting at.
- 45:22Speaker 2: I think Darby wins over Moxley, which creatively would not
- 45:28Speaker 2: make a bunch of sense, right now, so maybe I
- 45:32Speaker 2: could be talked out of that part. I think Moxley
- 45:35Speaker 2: versus Danielson or Russell dream after he defeats Darby for
- 45:39Speaker 2: the title shot would make sense. And obviously I think
- 45:42Speaker 2: Danielson defeats Nigel mcguinnis in a dream match that you
- 45:45Speaker 2: know Nigel's wanted to see and I never thought we
- 45:47Speaker 2: would get to see every again because I think the
- 45:49Speaker 2: last time these two guys Russell one another was in
- 45:51Speaker 2: two thousand and nine and Roh and they were both
- 45:53Speaker 2: on their way out. One was they both were suspected
- 45:55Speaker 2: to be going to we and then I believe Nigel
- 45:57Speaker 2: failed a medical exam or physical, So that's who I think.
- 46:02Speaker 2: I don't think that there's anyone else on that roster
- 46:05Speaker 2: right now in aw that should be the one that
- 46:07Speaker 2: ended Brian Danielson's full time wrestling career doct tray, and
- 46:10Speaker 2: I think it's Derby out of everyone. I would have
- 46:14Speaker 2: said Swerved Strickland, but obviously that ship is sailed. It's
- 46:18Speaker 2: got to be someone that deserves the rub, and the
- 46:21Speaker 2: one that deserves the rub is Derby. And I could
- 46:22Speaker 2: see Darby winning at Wressell Dream in front of the
- 46:24Speaker 2: hometown crowd, And I would not be shocked if Christian
- 46:27Speaker 2: Cage came out and cashed in and defeated him and
- 46:30Speaker 2: walked out of w Russell Dream as the AW World
- 46:32Speaker 2: Champion in front of the crowd that's going to be
- 46:34Speaker 2: booing and really really irritated and pissed off, taking a
- 46:37Speaker 2: page out of the book of how fans felt about
- 46:39Speaker 2: Brian Danielson when he was Daniel Brian in twenty thirteen SummerSlam,
- 46:43Speaker 2: when he defeated John Cena and triple H turned on
- 46:45Speaker 2: him and then led to Randy Or to win the
- 46:47Speaker 2: championship again. So I could see something like that playing out.
- 46:51Speaker 2: So those are my thoughts, Doctor Trey. It's definitely something
- 46:53Speaker 2: that's going to gain a lot of momentum in traction
- 46:55Speaker 2: the longer that this goes. But Danielson needs to put
- 46:58Speaker 2: someone over that deserves it on his way out to
- 47:00Speaker 2: end his full time rustling career and also drop the
- 47:02Speaker 2: AW World Championship. And I don't think there's any more
- 47:05Speaker 2: anybody else more deserving or that would utilize this opportunity
- 47:08Speaker 2: of the most than Darby Allen would in the AW.
- 47:11Speaker 3: I think my only issue with it is how much more.
- 47:14Speaker 3: How much more rubbing of Darby Allen can he get?
- 47:17Speaker 3: I mean he I know that sounds weird, but like
- 47:22Speaker 3: he's had the sting rub, he's had the pillars rub,
- 47:26Speaker 3: Like I get it. He's true. He's a generational talent.
- 47:31Speaker 3: Like the guy is an incredible wrestler. He's the most
- 47:36Speaker 3: death defying wrestler we've seen since you know, Jeff Hardy's
- 47:39Speaker 3: early days. To me, it should have been Swerve because
- 47:44Speaker 3: of the same thing you just mentioned. They're both Washington guys,
- 47:48Speaker 3: Like it makes sense. But if they do the Derby route,
- 47:52Speaker 3: Like that was my thought process when you went down
- 47:54Speaker 3: the Derby route, was like, Okay, Darby wins in Tacoma,
- 47:57Speaker 3: but then Cage catches in because I, once again it's
- 48:00Speaker 3: kind of Jack Perry thing. As much as I love
- 48:02Speaker 3: Darby Allen, I just don't see the guy who's one
- 48:04Speaker 3: hundred and sixty five pounds, Like the belt almost outweighs Darby,
- 48:09Speaker 3: Like I just have an issue with these tiny people
- 48:13Speaker 3: beating up like three hundred pounds man three of like
- 48:17Speaker 3: just so these giant guys, it just it doesn't happen
- 48:20Speaker 3: in real life unless you're like if you go back
- 48:23Speaker 3: to like UFC one and two when they had these
- 48:26Speaker 3: the crazy fighting styles. You saw the hoist Gracie fighting
- 48:29Speaker 3: a sup bow wrestler and he'd win, Like it just
- 48:32Speaker 3: doesn't typically happen with trained fighters. And that's always been
- 48:37Speaker 3: kind of my knock on AW is it is the
- 48:42Speaker 3: land of like tiny people, Like Edge is a giant
- 48:46Speaker 3: in ae W and he's like six four two fifty.
- 48:50Speaker 3: You know, it's like he was an average sized guy
- 48:53Speaker 3: at time in WW. If you're gonna go down the
- 48:56Speaker 3: route of who needs who kind of should be the
- 48:58Speaker 3: one to end it? To me, it should have been
- 49:00Speaker 3: Swerve or should have been MJF just because I think
- 49:04Speaker 3: those guys are more positioned to be the flag bears
- 49:08Speaker 3: of your company just physically.
- 49:10Speaker 2: They don't need that now, right they're established. It's got
- 49:14Speaker 2: to be someone that I think, I think Danielson wants
- 49:17Speaker 2: to establish someone.
- 49:19Speaker 1: Well, I mean, look at this way.
- 49:20Speaker 3: Out of all of the wrestlers that you and I
- 49:22Speaker 3: have followed over the years and Havery's hired, has any
- 49:28Speaker 3: of their opponents actually really done anything after those big matches?
- 49:33Speaker 2: Shawn Michaels, Yeah, I'm just kidding. He really actually didn't
- 49:38Speaker 2: after the match with taker.
- 49:41Speaker 3: Does take me from retiring Flair to take or need
- 49:44Speaker 3: the rub for retiring Sean.
- 49:46Speaker 2: I just think it's just that old guard wrestling mentality
- 49:48Speaker 2: which Danielson has. I guess the only other person I
- 49:50Speaker 2: can think of is we're having this discussion, is Osprey.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Yeah, or I mean a Wheeler dah, Oh.
- 49:58Speaker 2: My god, that's not wheel Er? You to AW World Champion? Yeah,
- 50:02Speaker 2: I mean I like the guy in all but none, no, no.
- 50:05Speaker 3: But it's there's some of these guys on this roster's like,
- 50:07Speaker 3: okay this there are some very talented younger wrestlers, but
- 50:10Speaker 3: they're all undersized, which Brian Danielson is. So I guess
- 50:14Speaker 3: in that sense, it doesn't make sense to pass the torch.
- 50:18Speaker 3: But if you were like, hey, who's the guy at
- 50:20Speaker 3: AEW that you think Brian Dason? What should pass the
- 50:22Speaker 3: torch to Darby? Doesn't really fit the Danielson character. I
- 50:27Speaker 3: mean it should be like a Garcia or you know,
- 50:30Speaker 3: like I hate saying Wheeler, you know, but I mean
- 50:33Speaker 3: those guys wrestler summer styles. I mean, Baron Corbin didn't
- 50:36Speaker 3: do anything after retiring, Kurt Engele, you know, somebody's guys
- 50:41Speaker 3: don't do anything with it.
- 50:42Speaker 2: So you know his run on NXT as part of
- 50:46Speaker 2: the Wolf.
- 50:46Speaker 3: Dogs, Yeah, I mean, and now he's what the Wolf crewise,
- 50:52Speaker 3: I guess I mean cruel, cool, crul.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:58Speaker 3: I don't know if there's anything really it's to be
- 51:00Speaker 3: gained by you know. Oh, he's the one that I mean,
- 51:05Speaker 3: if you're gonna be a heel, I'm the one who
- 51:07Speaker 3: retired Brian Danielson. Okay, that works, but I mean Darby's
- 51:11Speaker 3: not gonna got bragging about it.
- 51:13Speaker 1: That's not the character.
- 51:14Speaker 3: So I I just don't know if there's an upside
- 51:16Speaker 3: to it unless Christian Cage cashes in in the middle
- 51:20Speaker 3: of the match and wins the match and then he
- 51:23Speaker 3: can have his little two year runs being the guy
- 51:26Speaker 3: who retired Brian Danielson.
- 51:28Speaker 2: I like Christian Cage in all, and I just think
- 51:31Speaker 2: he has pushed way too much on a TOWB television.
- 51:33Speaker 2: I find I find this, I find this current run
- 51:36Speaker 2: to be boring with him. I gotta be.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Honest, I liked it.
- 51:44Speaker 3: There are times that has ebbed and flowed, and I'm
- 51:46Speaker 3: with you, I got I'm like, does he have something
- 51:48Speaker 3: on Tony Khan?
- 51:48Speaker 2: Like, does he have Tony Kan's favorite wrestler. He's Tony
- 51:51Speaker 2: Khan has come out and said that, but it's all
- 51:55Speaker 2: time favorite wrestler. You said it's Christian Cage. He's booking
- 51:59Speaker 2: him like that.
- 52:00Speaker 3: Yeah, like I think that, Like I've always loved Christian Cage,
- 52:04Speaker 3: but he's not my favorite wrestler of all time. It's
- 52:07Speaker 3: just that's an odd person to single as being your
- 52:10Speaker 3: favorite wrestler. That's like saying, you know, for somebody to say,
- 52:12Speaker 3: like Lance Storm was our favorite wrestler of all time.
- 52:16Speaker 3: Like I love lan Storm, but not my favorite wrestler
- 52:18Speaker 3: or Steve Blackman for that matter.
- 52:20Speaker 2: Wow, now we're just getting head cheese lower and lower here.
- 52:24Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just yeah, like the Christian Cage you're on,
- 52:28Speaker 3: it's been good. I have enjoyed it, but yeah, there
- 52:30Speaker 3: are times where I'm like, ah, right, it's it's a
- 52:33Speaker 3: little stale at times, but then they do something that's
- 52:36Speaker 3: kind of fun and weird and they've killed the kill
- 52:38Speaker 3: switch turning on him. Angle at the point now where
- 52:42Speaker 3: when kill switch does turn nobody's going to give a crap.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess the only part. I mean, Moxley Mosley
- 52:47Speaker 2: could defeat Darby right and Moxley let ending Danielson's full
- 52:50Speaker 2: time wrestling crew would make sense.
- 52:52Speaker 3: To Yeah, by the way, did you did you love
- 52:55Speaker 3: the references to his lordship in the in the.
- 52:58Speaker 2: Mox pro I did like that.
- 53:01Speaker 3: I mean that's a saying like mox Claudio, like anybody
- 53:03Speaker 3: in the BCC makes sense because you can build off
- 53:06Speaker 3: those guys like Maxi's not going anywhere for the next
- 53:08Speaker 3: four or five six years, so he could have a
- 53:10Speaker 3: little bit of a run with it. To me, though,
- 53:13Speaker 3: it should just be somebody that you think could physically
- 53:15Speaker 3: withstand the demands of being your world champion. I mean
- 53:18Speaker 3: a hangman hangman doing it wouldn't make sense, especially because
- 53:21Speaker 3: it stays on this dark journey.
- 53:24Speaker 1: But and if Darby does it, it's fine, especially if
- 53:27Speaker 1: it's in Tacoma. It's fine with me. I'm not gonna
- 53:29Speaker 1: hate it.
- 53:30Speaker 3: It just needs to be somebody to me, like, if
- 53:32Speaker 3: I'm looking forward at my company five years from now,
- 53:36Speaker 3: ten years from now, who can withstand the rigors of
- 53:39Speaker 3: being a focal point physically hold up to those demands.
- 53:44Speaker 1: And I don't know if Darby can do it.
- 53:47Speaker 2: I think they want them to do it, though, I
- 53:49Speaker 2: think if all out of all the pillars right, MGF
- 53:52Speaker 2: has already been established. The next one that makes sense
- 53:54Speaker 2: to me, it would be Darby. I mean, I don't
- 53:56Speaker 2: think Sammy and I don't think Jack Perry are world
- 53:58Speaker 2: champions right now.
- 54:01Speaker 1: I think they think Jack Perry could be a world champion, though.
- 54:06Speaker 2: I think they do too. I think I think there
- 54:10Speaker 2: is a lot of Vince in some Tony Kahn book
- 54:12Speaker 2: and I think he's a very stubborn booker, I gotta admit,
- 54:14Speaker 2: And I think putting Jack Perry in that spot it
- 54:17Speaker 2: all out in Chicago was like an FU to anybody
- 54:19Speaker 2: who's anti Jack Perry and pro sampunk.
- 54:22Speaker 3: To me, yeah, these very like Vince would hold grudges
- 54:27Speaker 3: and do things just to incite the fan base. And
- 54:30Speaker 3: I think Tony does the same thing.
- 54:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's this playground. Feel free to chime in
- 54:36Speaker 2: at sr TW podcast on X on who you think
- 54:39Speaker 2: should be the one that ends Brian Daelson's full time
- 54:41Speaker 2: wrestling career. Dutchery is some big news that was announced
- 54:44Speaker 2: during this past week's edition of Monday Night Ross starting
- 54:46Speaker 2: I think October the seventh. It's like the first Monday
- 54:49Speaker 2: Night in October ROZ going back to two hours for
- 54:53Speaker 2: the rest of the time on the USA network. In
- 54:55Speaker 2: regards to how many how long it will go on Netflix,
- 54:59Speaker 2: the our reports are stating that there may be times
- 55:01Speaker 2: it goes two hours, it may go two and a
- 55:03Speaker 2: half hours, and it may go three hours. Sometimes we
- 55:05Speaker 2: may exceed that. There really is no time for him
- 55:07Speaker 2: right now when it goes to Netflix. So you and
- 55:10Speaker 2: I have been fans of Monday Night Raw being three
- 55:13Speaker 2: hours the last couple of years. Now are you happy
- 55:17Speaker 2: that it's going back to October two hours in October?
- 55:20Speaker 2: And is it for the good?
- 55:21Speaker 3: You know, when this was announced, I immediately flashed back
- 55:24Speaker 3: to some of our early shows and We're like, dear god.
- 55:26Speaker 1: We had to watch three hours of Raw. That was
- 55:29Speaker 1: oh excruciating.
- 55:30Speaker 3: It took forever, it just drug And now I'm like, damn, Like,
- 55:34Speaker 3: are you gonna like have to eliminate some of the
- 55:36Speaker 3: people that we like watching right now because it's only
- 55:40Speaker 3: got two hours and we're getting some really good quality
- 55:43Speaker 3: matches because instead of having filler, we just extend the match.
- 55:48Speaker 1: It make it even better.
- 55:50Speaker 3: Like I'm okay with it because I think they're gonna
- 55:54Speaker 3: try to cram a whole bunch of stuff into two hours,
- 55:57Speaker 3: because now you've got to figure out what you're gonna
- 55:59Speaker 3: do that extra hour and fit it back into the
- 56:02Speaker 3: whole program. Because it's been really, really good. It's gonna
- 56:07Speaker 3: be hard, Like how do you build up a Bronson raid?
- 56:09Speaker 3: How do you build up some of these other guys
- 56:10Speaker 3: that have been getting built up over the last few
- 56:14Speaker 3: months with a three hour show?
- 56:17Speaker 1: Now you have to limit that.
- 56:19Speaker 3: And they're still talk of Roman Reigns having to be
- 56:21Speaker 3: on raw, and if you have Roman on Raw, like
- 56:23Speaker 3: you got to make sure you got time for that,
- 56:25Speaker 3: because I love Roman Reigns. But sometimes those promos with
- 56:28Speaker 3: Paul Hayman can run about twenty minutes.
- 56:31Speaker 2: Oh, they certainly can. Yeah, those will run for a
- 56:33Speaker 2: real long time, and yeah, it will be long on Netflix.
- 56:39Speaker 2: I guess I'm looking forward to the changeover for Netflix.
- 56:42Speaker 2: And the old man in me is excited about two
- 56:45Speaker 2: hour Monday night raws. I got to meet Doctor Trey,
- 56:47Speaker 2: so like for it to be over at ten o'clock,
- 56:49Speaker 2: Like that's a dream for an old guy like myself,
- 56:51Speaker 2: because watching some of those three hour raws on DVRs
- 56:54Speaker 2: back in the day would suck. But they've done really good.
- 56:57Speaker 2: I'm upset that people are gonna lose some character development
- 56:59Speaker 2: in this one.
- 57:01Speaker 3: Yeah, and for me, the show will be ending at
- 57:03Speaker 3: nine o'clock, which means what the hell do I do
- 57:06Speaker 3: for an hour? Because I go to bed at ten? So, like,
- 57:08Speaker 3: what am I gonna do for an hour? Like imbout
- 57:10Speaker 3: to flip over and catch the end of a Saints
- 57:13Speaker 3: Vikings Monday night football game?
- 57:15Speaker 1: I guess in that last hour?
- 57:16Speaker 2: Oh God, I hope it's not Saints and Vikings. And
- 57:19Speaker 2: then we talk about this every year. So with the
- 57:21Speaker 2: PWI five hundred, the top ten release list was released.
- 57:26Speaker 2: Let's go through it here, Doctor Stray ten through one.
- 57:28Speaker 2: Ten was Mystico nine, Gunther eight, John Moxley seven, MJF six,
- 57:34Speaker 2: Damien Priest five, Titsi and Ido four, seth Rons, three,
- 57:38Speaker 2: will Ospray, two Swerve Strickland and one Cody Rhodes. Your
- 57:44Speaker 2: thoughts on the list?
- 57:45Speaker 3: So did they give you the dates of when the
- 57:49Speaker 3: rankings were compiled?
- 57:51Speaker 2: I think they always do it September to September, all right.
- 57:54Speaker 1: I mean I don't hate the rankings.
- 57:57Speaker 3: I mean you can argue, you know, is Mystico really
- 58:01Speaker 3: a top ten guy when most of the audience doesn't
- 58:04Speaker 3: know who he is, didn't I thought Nido had a
- 58:09Speaker 3: bad year in New Japan, but maybe I was wrong,
- 58:13Speaker 3: you know, like some of it is a little bit skewed,
- 58:15Speaker 3: but I think for the most part, I think seven
- 58:18Speaker 3: of the top ten absolutely deserved to be there. I
- 58:21Speaker 3: saw people complaining that gun Thy maybe should been higher
- 58:23Speaker 3: than Davey and Priest, but Priest had a little better
- 58:26Speaker 3: he was championed for longer and Guntherer just got the
- 58:29Speaker 3: belt right before the rankings ended. But Gunther was ic
- 58:32Speaker 3: champ for forever. I don't like saying six hundred and
- 58:35Speaker 3: sixty six days because then God punishes me.
- 58:38Speaker 1: But you know, maybe Gunther over Priest.
- 58:42Speaker 3: You know, m j Or Moxley was in and out
- 58:46Speaker 3: a lot this year, so it is kind of you know,
- 58:50Speaker 3: it's you can nitpick it. But I really think outside
- 58:53Speaker 3: of you know, Mistico and Nido, like eight of the
- 58:56Speaker 3: top tens and the top ten are pretty solid picks.
- 58:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree with you. I you know, this goes
- 59:03Speaker 2: a lot with how we feel about how this year
- 59:05Speaker 2: has turned out. I mean, we had this discussion a
- 59:07Speaker 2: couple of months ago when we were looking at the
- 59:08Speaker 2: halfway point of the year. I think it's a three
- 59:10Speaker 2: dog race on the men's side of things when you
- 59:12Speaker 2: look at Osprey, Swerve and Cody Rhodes to the top
- 59:14Speaker 2: men in professional wrestling right now.
- 59:18Speaker 3: I as with as much as Drew McIntyre has done
- 59:23Speaker 3: this year, even though not winning as much as maybe
- 59:26Speaker 3: he should, I think he's been one of the most
- 59:28Speaker 3: entertaining characters. So I think I think maybe Drew should
- 59:31Speaker 3: be in the top ten. If he wasn't mentioned there,
- 59:33Speaker 3: I literally forgot you if you said Drew McIntire.
- 59:36Speaker 2: No, he's not in the top ten. And that's that's
- 59:37Speaker 2: a very fantastic point of somebody who should be in
- 59:39Speaker 2: that list. Let me Actually they broke it down some
- 59:42Speaker 2: more over at Wressell Purris on Twitter. So the twenty
- 59:45Speaker 2: twenty four p WI five hundred top ten from we
- 59:48Speaker 2: SO one was Cody Rhodes, Number four was seth Number
- 59:50Speaker 2: six was Damian Priest, Number twelve was Sammy Zay. Thirteen
- 59:54Speaker 2: is Drew McIntyre at seventeen. Here you go ahead, I
- 59:59Speaker 2: was a third.
- 59:59Speaker 1: That's way too low for Drew McIntire this year.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: I agree, he's had a really, really, really good year.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: I think i'd put him top five. Doctor try.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: Yeah, i'd at least have I mean, i'd have him
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: over missed a go Nido, you could argue him and
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: count Priest and was out for the year.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: I Moxley, I would put him over. I liked I've
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: actually liked Damian Priest a lot this year. I think
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: he could be a top top five wrestler and he's
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: just on the outside with six.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: No, I to me, it would probably be Cody Swerve Osprey,
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: McIntyre Priest would be my top five.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: Cody Swerve McIntyre, Osprey Priest.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you can switch Ospray McIntyre.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I would go cod I thought, Man, I don't
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: know right now, I really want to say Swerve number one.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Oh no, I'm not saying like Cody's number one. I'd
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: just say my top.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: Five top five wrestlers this year. Yeah, yeah, like Cody
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Swerve Osprey McIntyre Priest. Yeah, I think I agree with you.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: I'd probably go Swerve number one as of right now.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I would go Swerve number one right
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: now as well. And I think Cody two, Osprey, three Priest,
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: McIntyre four, Priest five.
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: Yeah, that would be my Yeah, I would and and
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: but then i'd have Gunther right behind Priest.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I think's in there.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: I can't really, just as the character development for both
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: those guys this year has been great. Seeing guntherer do
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: a lot of stuff on his own without Kaiser and
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: Vinci right there with him, I think helps him out,
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: as you know, helps him out as well.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: But yeah, it's it's hard.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: It's for me, it's hard to separate Gunther and Priest
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: because I think they both had outstanding years. I just
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: think McIntyre's been more entertaining than both those guys.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: I also think Rollin's being injured the last like five
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: months and off of television here and there has really
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: like dampened how good of a year he was having
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: from the last time that they did this list.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: Yeah, but I mean that's literally like Rolins, Moxley, mjf
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: are all basically gonna saying like Tree when they're there,
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: it's great years. But they've been off TV so much
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: this year it's hard to put them into that upper
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: echelon that we named.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: That is a really good point. That is a good point.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: The rest of the We List seventeen was Juso twenty seven,
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: is La Night twenty eight is Trick Williams. I like Trick.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: That's way too high. Thirty Elia Dragonoff, like Ilia, that's
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: probably way too high. Thirty seven Logan Paul, that's way
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: too high. PWI five hundred. Top ten from AAW two
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: is Swerve three, will Ospray seven, mjf Hhn Moxley eleven,
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Samoa Joe fourteen, Brian Danielson twenty, Eddie Kingston twenty one,
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Kisisko Katta twenty four, Orange Cassie twenty six, Adam Copeland.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: Okay, so you're gonna have Eddie Kingston, who hasn't been
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: in a ring in like seven months, just off that
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: ranking is higher than Kevin Owens in ring Orton this year.
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: Well that was just top ten for AW. But yes,
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: you're right, Kevin Owens and Randy ort were not up there,
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: now that I get what you're saying.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, so, I mean it's is PWI as much
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: I love, and they do have a little bit of
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: a melter thing to them where they'll rank some guys
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: a little bit higher than they should be just because
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: they're of their affiliation. And we probably get skewed by
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: fans as well for saying that we have more of
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: a WWE bias. But Eddie Kingson's twenty and he broke
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: his leg like in April.
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: He was having a great year. That Continental Classic run
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: was a lot of fun. But I get what you're saying.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: I do get it.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: Sis he won it.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: They took the belt right off, They split all the
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: belts up right like what two months after he won
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: the Triple Crowd Tile they split all the belts up
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: and then o'cata had the Continental title.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: Right after that. Some just for fun here which we've
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: never covered, but Russell Puris had had put this up
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: on their Twitter feed. Who do you think they have
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: down as the number one colored commentator and profession and wrestling?
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: This is not a play by play person number one
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: color commentator.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Oh that's a good one. Crap.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: I honestly don't know, because I would probably say Wade Barrett.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: Wade Barrett is number two.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Ah, okay, number one. Nigel McGinnis, Okay, I can't hurt
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: Nigel's good.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: I can't. Nigel's amazing. When I saw this list, all
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: I could think to myself is how much is Triple
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: h pissed off that when he got sick? Vince let
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: Nigel go to rot On like NXC level up and
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: let his contract basically run out.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: Yeah, but do you think Triple H would let Nigel
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: get back in the ring.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: I think he's been a little bit more flexible about
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: that than anyone, because I think he had discussions with
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: Soraya slash Page about getting back in the ring before
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: she had I think she had said she signed with AW.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: I think he would doctor try. I do. I think
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: if Nigel was able to get cleared, I think he
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: would give the okay.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: But and and you know, we're getting Nigel and Brian Danielson,
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: so I think I'm okay with it. But yeah, by
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: the way, I meant to ask you this, and I.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Know this is a little bit off topic, but what
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: do you think of Joe Tesataur so far?
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: Uh? Interesting? Because I wanted to ask you about that
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: because I know you're more the college football guy than
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: I am. I think it's he's not he's not there yet, right.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: I really enjoyed Michael Cole's work lately. I liked that
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: he was showing a little bit of personalent personality, and
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: I think Test Tour is a little bit too structured,
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: unseasoned lacking a little bit of personality.
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: My my thing so far is he's better than add
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: Non Verk was. Oh yeah, uh he's I think he's
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: as good as oh, the Scottish kid.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: I'm blanking on his name.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah, what the hell was his name? Irish Irish kid.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: Irish kid. He's better than him. My only take on
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: it is.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: You can tell he's watched a lot of old wrestling
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: commentating leading into this, because at times it does sound
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: a little hokey and corny and a little bit of that,
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: you know, early nineties wrestling style. But I think the
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: guy is one of the best football commentaries I've ever heard,
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: and his vocabulary is very strong. I think with a
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: little more time, he will be really good at this.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: So I'm giving him a little more leegue way than
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: maybe some of the past, you know, play by play
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: guys they've had on Raw.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: From what I've read, I believes he's actually a legit
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: wrestling fan, which I think is a little bit debatable
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: because he didn't seem to fully know who Brett Hart
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: was on Raw Monday Night. But from what I've read,
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: the belief is he is a wrestling fan.
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: Yeah, but ad Non Vurk was a wrestling fan and
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: was just wasn't good Sometimes, like being a wrestling fan
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: can hurt you in this true because you start playing
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: into what you grew up listening to, and sometimes it
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: doesn't fit your natural voice.
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: Yeah, not everybody could be Jim Ross.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: Yeah, and sometimes when you're trying to be a Jim
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: Ross or even back of the day at Tony Shavanni,
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: it comes off sounding weird to me. I think testatory
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: him and Barrett already have a good chemistry already, so
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: I'm not hating the Raw broadcast. I just think it
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: takes a little time to kind of get that chemistry
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: down and get that natural vibe. I think at times
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: he's kind of forcing it to kind of play into
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: like the stuff he grew up listening to.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: Wade is doing a really good job and he helps
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: him out a lot. Or as Gunther called him on.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: Raw, still, yeah, I got that.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: Which is his real name, Stu Barrett. All right, with
