- 2:30to take us on this journey with triggered reactions conquered with Lisa Hopkins. At
- 2:36this time, I will be reading my scripture and it is from Philippians for
- 2:39nineteen and it reads as us and My God will supply all your needs according
- 2:46to His riches in glory. Today, my special guests is Miss Juanita Green.
- 2:55Miss Janita Green is a resident of Free Court, Louisiana, and she
- 3:01has some amazing things to share with us on today. Hello everyone, Thank
- 3:08you for having me. Lisa. I'm excited about the questions that I don't
- 3:13know yet, but I am excited to be here. Thank you for inviting
- 3:15me. Well, I thank you, thank you so much for just gracing
- 3:21us all with your presence. We're looking forward to a good time with you.
- 3:25First of all, I would like to start by asking you to just
- 3:30tell a little bit about your your upbringing and on through college. Okay,
- 3:39that's that could be a very long story. Did you bring a lunch?
- 3:46Um? So? Raised in mainly Pasadena, California. UM, I say
- 3:53my upbringing was pretty normal, surrounded by family, raised with my mom a
- 3:58single parent, U one sibling, and was always taught you know, just
- 4:05to work, work, work, So I am naturally a workhorse. A
- 4:11lot of times people will ask me or tell me, hey, you need
- 4:14to calm down or you need to rest, and I tell them, hey,
- 4:16if you see me resting, uh, there's probably something wrong with me.
- 4:20So I enjoy moving around, working, being productive, always progressive and
- 4:28um, that was just how I was raised. We were always up at
- 4:30six am. Everybody had something to do and um following my mom around.
- 4:35She would sell clothes at UM. It was a swap meet, so we'd
- 4:42have to be up early in the morning to get all the clothes in the
- 4:45car. And that was alone with her job with the government, and so
- 4:48she was always working. So I grew up with always surrounded by somebody who
- 4:53was working. But yeah, But as I grew older, went on to
- 4:59college, got a bachelor's in Human Development, Masters in Educational Psychological Education and
- 5:08Guidance Counseling with a PPS credential. Studied abroad for a year or no,
- 5:13I'm sorry for a month in New Zealand, learned some therapeutic techniques there,
- 5:19went into becoming a therapist and did therapy in the United States, New Zealand,
- 5:27in China, and I don't know what happened, but for some reason
- 5:32I ended up getting into property in Shreveport and left all the therapy stuff behind
- 5:42and just went with God's plan which was not mine. Well, but I'm
- 5:48okay. I thank you so much for sharing that. And one thing I
- 5:54would like to say is about my scripture that I shared. I actually share
- 6:00that spiritual because of my beautiful, amazing cousin. This is my cousin.
- 6:04Everybody one, Nita. I shared that God would supply all of our needs
- 6:11according to His riches and glory. Because many times I speak to my cousin,
- 6:15as what you're doing, Oh, I'm listening to the Holy Spirit,
- 6:18Well, what the Holy Spirit say? And she'll tell me. And many
- 6:23of those things that she speaks about, they've always come to pass. So
- 6:28I use her as a model someone that I can look up to in learning
- 6:34how to really really use the Holy Spirit and let the Holy Spirit does do
- 6:39what it's supposed to do in leading guiding us and directioning us into all troops
- 6:45on. Nita has a little love story that she's going to share with us,
- 6:48and it stems from back when she was in elementary school. All Right,
- 7:00we did not go over all of this, Okay, So yeah,
- 7:03so you're talking about how I met my husband that part, okay, So
- 7:10how I met my husband was we were in preschool together in Pasadena, Washington
- 7:15Children's Center, and he used to make fun of me a lot, and
- 7:17so I guess at three year old three years old, I really had an
- 7:20impact because I remembered him throughout my entire life. And we ended up having
- 7:26a fight in preschool. And technically it wasn't we had a fight. It
- 7:30was actually I fought him. He was sitting down watching like the guys play
- 7:35I think it was like tag football or something like that, flag football,
- 7:40and I just went up to him and started socking him. And I remember
- 7:45Miss Valerie picked me up and took me away, and she was busting up
- 7:49laughing because when I was hitting him, I was saying, you better not
- 7:51ever due, and I was talking, so she just thought that was the
- 7:55funniest thing. And so throughout my entire life I would see him like that
- 8:01in middle school or high school, but I don't think he ever really remembered
- 8:03me, or we just weren't in the same groups. But I would see
- 8:07him, but it was just in passing, like we never hung out together,
- 8:13so I ended up I'm sorry, I'm outside so if you see me
- 8:16doing this as well. But I do remember him. He stuck out in
- 8:24my mind my entire life. He was actually one of my stories of childhood,
- 8:28my entire life, and that was because I've never actually been in a
- 8:31fight except for with him. So when people would ask me, have you
- 8:35ever been in a fight, and I'd be like, whoa, There was
- 8:37this one guy back in preschool that I had a fight with, but that's
- 8:39pretty much it. I've never had another fight with anyone. So when I
- 8:43saw him again in my thirties in the store, I was like, are
- 8:48you lea Green? And he was like yeah, and so that was pretty
- 8:52much it because he didn't know who I was. So but when I went
- 8:56outside to get in the car, he was helping his mom get in the
- 8:58car, and his mom was the one who said, um, excuse me,
- 9:01miss um, you sure are pretty leon get her number, And because
- 9:09of something about her voice in her just her demeanor, we both were like,
- 9:15oh okay. So we ended up exchanging numbers and that was actually my
- 9:20only time ever talking to his mom. She ended up passing not you know,
- 9:24not too far after that, but that it was his mom who got
- 9:31me to give my number to him. And I've known him since free school,
- 9:35and I honestly don't think he remembers, but he says he does,
- 9:39and he says that he made fun of me because he liked me. But
- 9:41I don't know. But anyhow, that that is my love story. So
- 9:46I have known my husband since free school a man. Thank you, thank
- 9:50you, thank that story. And one thing I would like to say on
- 9:54behalf of your mother who is deceased and his mother who is DC. During
- 10:01the reception at the wedding, I gave a tribute to them at that time
- 10:05and to this day I can say that I am so grateful for the relationship
- 10:11that you have with your husband, and I love the way that he treats
- 10:16you and he makes you smiling. You guys play. You guys are so
- 10:20adorable, and I thank God for that. Thank you, thank you.
- 10:24So can you tell the people about the day that the Holy Spirit told you
- 10:30to move to Louisiana. So the Holy Spirit, I will say this,
- 10:35And before I got married, I told my husband, I said, the
- 10:39Holy Spirit tells me to do some crazy things, and I'm gonna listen to
- 10:43the Holy Spirit. So I need for you to not question me, to
- 10:48not like, you know, say anything against what the Holy Spirit is telling
- 10:52me, because I'm going to do it. And so he was like,
- 10:56okay. So one morning, I mean, here, we are living in
- 10:58Marino Alley, nice house, kids are fine, you know, we both
- 11:03got good jobs, whatever, And the Holy Spirit tells me on a Tuesday
- 11:09when I wake up, and we knew that we wanted to move to Shreveport
- 11:11for a little bit because we had properties out there, but we didn't want
- 11:16to move then because it was COVID and my youngest one was in her last
- 11:20year of high school and so she wanted to graduate with her high school friends
- 11:26and so all these all the things, and I wake up on Tuesday and
- 11:28the Holy Spirit says it's time to move now. And I was like,
- 11:37okay. So literally it didn't I didn't toss and turn with it. That
- 11:41morning, I looked at him and I said, hey, the Holy Spirit
- 11:43said it is time to go, and he was like, you've got to
- 11:46be kidding me, which is a whole other testimony because he was in line
- 11:50for a really big position at his job and this would have essentially knocked him
- 11:56out of being in line for that that he had worked really hard for that
- 12:01position, and so he was like, Okay, you know, if that's
- 12:05what the Holy Spirit told you, then let's do it. So we had
- 12:09a meeting with the kids and like, hey, we're gonna move. They
- 12:13were crying, they were upset, and I was like, I don't know
- 12:16what to tell you. We listed the house on Wednesday, so that was
- 12:18on Tuesday. We were in a bidding war by Friday, and the house
- 12:24did sail and we took a nice little road trip all the way to Louisiana.
- 12:28We stopped every and every state, and then we did move out here
- 12:31and everything just lined up. My cousin had a house that she had just
- 12:35moved out of, nice big, four bedroom house. She rented it to
- 12:39us for five hundred dollars a month. So I was able to keep my
- 12:45job in California because of COVID, I was a therapist and everything went on
- 12:50phone, so I was able to keep my job because I didn't have to
- 12:54see clients face to face anymore. So everything worked out and then just like
- 13:01jump into this year, even though that was like two and a half years
- 13:03ago. That job, that he was upset about leaving because he knocked him
- 13:09out of the position. He got a call about four months ago and they
- 13:16said, hey, that position is open and we want you to be the
- 13:22national security manager trainer or something like that, National manager training security, something
- 13:28like that for this huge company. And they said, we have to hire
- 13:31somebody who lives out of state. So he would not have been eligible for
- 13:35the job if he stayed in California. So he had to be out of
- 13:39state to be eligible for the job. So he has now been working in
- 13:43that position for like four months, and I can just see that he is
- 13:45where he wants to be. So that's like a whole jump. But yes,
- 13:48so I thank you for sharing that. That's awesome. Now, when
- 13:52you first got here, what was the very first thing that you did.
- 13:58I know that you're a serial entrepreneur, and we're gonna get into some of
- 14:03those things that the Lord has blessed you to be able to do and how
- 14:09you are able to help many people in the community. So let's start with
- 14:15the story of the spin cycle. So, of course, the Holy Spirit
- 14:20tells us to move here in Shreveport, and I do. I was a
- 14:26spin teacher in California. Fell in love with spin, and so I became
- 14:31a spin instructor. I worked at a couple of studios out there, like
- 14:35La Fitness was one of them. I worked at multiple La fitnesses, and
- 14:43so when I got here, I was looking for a spin studio and could
- 14:46not find one. So and so when I was going in some of the
- 14:50gems, I was asking, haiti have spin? Do you have spin one?
- 14:52I wanted to teach them too. I want to take the class.
- 14:56And so it ended up happening was I couldn't find any because spin is not
- 15:00huge in street sport. We like to eat out of year. Actually,
- 15:03UM, tell the people what spin is. So spin is a stationary bike.
- 15:09It where you cycle. It's a cardio class in your high intents,
- 15:15it's it's an amazing class. I love Spinum. Some people call it cycling,
- 15:18some people call it spin, but it is an indoor cycling class.
- 15:22And so um, the Holy Spirit said, I want you to open up
- 15:28your own spin studio. And this is where you're gonna open it up.
- 15:31Where it ended up being one of the gyms that I visited that didn't have
- 15:33spin is where the Holy Spirit told me to open the class the or the
- 15:39studio rather, and so I went back there and I entertained the idea of
- 15:43opening a studio. I googled, like, you know, what's the easiest
- 15:46way, all kinds of stuff, and the lady ended up showing me another
- 15:52area of her stute, of her gym that I didn't even know that she
- 15:54had, and this area had its own entrance, it had an office,
- 15:58it was it was huge, it had a bathroom. So it ended up
- 16:02being like a duplex to the actual gym, and so I was able to
- 16:06open that up as a studio. I ended up getting twenty five really high
- 16:10end bikes and then we opened it up to kickboxing and a few other things.
- 16:15And that was where I really started to grow in Shreveport. Because of
- 16:21course, me coming from California, I only knew my dad's side of the
- 16:23family, so my ability to meet people was very limited because I wasn't from
- 16:29here and I only knew a small group of people. But opening that cycling
- 16:33studio, I have met so many people. It was literally my link of
- 16:38networking in so many different avenues in Shreveport. All of my connections today started
- 16:45in that studio. Outside of my family and who they know. Well,
- 16:51I'd like to thank God for I thank God for the leading of the Holy
- 16:55Spirit and him leading you there so that you can gain wealth through the community
- 17:02as you guys all work together, networking and everything like that. It's a
- 17:06wonderful blessing. I understand that you and your husband have a company in which
- 17:15you live houses. Yeah, so we have Greenhouse Rehab and that company started
- 17:23when we lived in California and basically we buy houses. So one of the
- 17:27things I know it is fast report when we got here is that a lot
- 17:30of the houses are run down and very old. Louisiana is one of the
- 17:33oldest states in America. Therefore, their properties are very old and some are
- 17:38just left behind for various reasons and they're just sitting there. So we had
- 17:45already decided that we were going to start to put money into these properties and
- 17:49make them really nice and move people into them. Well, we did start
- 17:55to do that, and people actually started following us, and I don't I
- 17:59don't know, but people are coming from different states, different countries and they're
- 18:03buying our houses. So we would flip these houses and honestly, they would
- 18:07be sold before we could even finish flipping them to someone who did not even
- 18:11live in this area, and then they'd be rented out or turned into essentially
- 18:18airbnbs, which started a whole other business called str Solutions, which is short
- 18:23term rential solutions, and that business runs twenty seven Airbnb, well twenty nine
- 18:32now twenty nine airbnbs out here, and we have a housekeeping team that cleans
- 18:38forty three airbnbs and we are growing. I say, we add at least
- 18:44two airbnbs and we just added leases Airbnb. Yeah, so congratulation on that.
- 18:51We are going to go out tonight and celebrate for her purchase of almost
- 18:56three thousand square foot house, four bedrooms, four bathrooms, newly remodeled.
- 19:02I couldn't be prouder of her. And it's a it's a beautiful home,
- 19:07and it too will be used when as she's not here as a short term
- 19:12rental and we'll be managing that and taking care of her baby. But yeah,
- 19:18so that's what we do. I have two of my own lake front
- 19:22of property lake front properties, and we rent them out for people to come
- 19:27and enjoy Shreveport. And like I said, the business is just those are
- 19:33some of my guests. Now I'm sitting in my backyard. Um, but
- 19:36yeah, so that is what we do. So we have the Spin Studio,
- 19:41which we change the name to the Cardio Spot, and we have Greenhouse
- 19:45Rehab, and we have u str Solutions and everything is growing and I don't
- 19:55know how we do it. Well, I'm not gonna say that. It's
- 19:56definitely God definitely yes. So why don't you tell us a little bit about
- 20:03your cleaning service. Yeah, So, basically we are a system that is
- 20:10in place for people who own short term rentals Airbnb's vrbo, vacation homes,
- 20:17people corporate living type of homes. And what we do is at checkout,
- 20:22we show up. You have a team of people who show up, They
- 20:26go in, they clean, they report anything that's out of place. They
- 20:30basically rate your guests for you, because of course you're not there, so
- 20:34they let you know like how your guests did, how well they did,
- 20:38whether they left a mess, will send pictures if anything's broken. We do
- 20:41a safety assessment to make sure that the house is safe for the next guest
- 20:47to check in. We do a thorough cleaning, we do a restocking,
- 20:51and we make sure your house is ready for next check in. So basically,
- 20:55your short term rental never has to be closed because we come in as
- 21:00soon as check out and we make sure it's ready for the next check in
- 21:03and so, which is really huge me being an airbnb owner, that's a
- 21:08huge thing because you lose a lot of money when you have to close down
- 21:12to clean and things like that. So to keep an airbnb constantly rolling in
- 21:18people don't have the time they want a vacation. Usually an airbnb is supposed
- 21:21to be a passive income, but if you're cleaning and you're doing all these
- 21:25things, it's not as passive as it was anticipated to be. So we
- 21:30have we do all of that, and so it allows for people like yourself
- 21:34to go back and forth home when need need and then come out here and
- 21:40not have anything to worry about. Okay, that's awesome, that is really
- 21:45really huge. I'm so grateful for every single thing that the Lord has blessed
- 21:52you to to do. I remember when I was before I came out here,
- 21:59and I was telling you that I really really was feending for your mom.
- 22:04I wish she was here, I wish she was here, and you
- 22:07guys just don't know. God made a way for me to wind up sitting
- 22:11by a lady on the airplane that had the same name as her mother that
- 22:17was coming to Louisiana. I left a week later and that same exact lady
- 22:22with the name of her mother, Evelyn Williams, was sitting in the seat
- 22:29next to me one more time. So I look at it as God letting
- 22:33me know that that Juanita's mother was letting us know that what we're doing in
- 22:41these days and times was okay. So that's how I look at it.
- 22:47It was amazing to me. So Juanita has been blessed to live on a
- 22:52property that has a Well, you want to share with the people whose house
- 22:59this is that you're living in that has a you're talking about my whale system?
- 23:04Yes? Yes, why do you want to talk about the whales?
- 23:08Well, it's amazing just to know that you moved in someone's house that was
- 23:15higher, was a well known person. And if you don't want to talk
- 23:19about it, we don't have to do that. No, are you talking
- 23:23about I live on whales? Was that what you're talking about? Yeah?
- 23:27Like the whales at pump Water? Yeah, okay, you want to talk
- 23:32about the whales? Yeah. I enjoyed listening to the story when you told
- 23:36it to me, So I figured that maybe our guests would like to know
- 23:41about it, Okay, can you okay, mind No, I'm just trying
- 23:48to figure out, like, what was the story, so I can tell
- 23:51you, Oh, you've moved in the house and you didn't know who had
- 23:56the house before you, and you came to find out that it was higher,
- 24:00high up person something like that. Yeah yeah, yeah, but I'm
- 24:06okay. So basically what ended up happening was we bought this beautiful estate,
- 24:11I mean gorgeous estate on the lake on Cross Lake, and so we kind
- 24:15of lived like on an island. Um and um uh. The house ended
- 24:23up basically was owned by a mega pastor, which I did not know was
- 24:29a mega pastor, but he's huge. He's so huge. His church has
- 24:33a Starbucks in it. So yeah, so there are scriptures. What I
- 24:37did learn is there are scriptures in each wall in the house. I don't
- 24:41know if I told you that, but um, I don't pay a water
- 24:44bill if that's what. So one of the things about buying this house is
- 24:48I was really scared because this house costs a lot of money. And when
- 24:52I got approved for it, I was like Oh my god, but the
- 24:55whole way, the whole thing happened. Um. So there are three houses
- 25:00on this estate, and two of them we do use a short term rentals.
- 25:03But what we didn't know is that, and this was not discussed until
- 25:07after the sale, that we had mineral rights. What we knew we had
- 25:11mentoral rights, but we didn't know that they were actually active. Like you
- 25:15receive a check every month, so we do get a check every month for
- 25:18them using the minerals on the land, which we were not aware of.
- 25:23And what ended up happening was a check came in the pastor's name and we
- 25:29were like, we own the house now, so call these people. And
- 25:33I had taken a real estate class and kind of knew some things too,
- 25:38So right before we bought this house, I was actually in estra Wa.
- 25:42I was taken the real estate class, which taught me a lot of stuff
- 25:45like latorial rights, which I know now how like my rights to the lake
- 25:49and stuff like that, which I would not have known how to not taken
- 25:52that class. But anyhow, yes, so we do get that I don't
- 25:57I guess I mentioned I don't pay water because we have three wells. They're
- 26:00filtered they're on electric pumps, So yeah, there's things like that, I
- 26:07don't have to pay parish taxes because we're not in the city of Shreveport.
- 26:12So like all these breaks that God was just constantly I think when we were
- 26:17in escrow, they were like, oh, we have a thing where the
- 26:19bank is now paying this cost and that cost, which ended up saving us
- 26:22like almost forty thousand dollars on the down payment. It was just like one
- 26:30thing after another where I just constantly, even in my own stress and anxiety
- 26:34of how is this going to happen, but allowing also for the Holy Spirit
- 26:40to do his thing and for God to do his thing, you know,
- 26:45keeping myself still even in my worrying, which is like the hardest thing for
- 26:49a human to do is, especially when you think you're smart, is for
- 26:53you to sit still and watch God work in something that you feel like you're
- 27:00feeling at or that you're making a decision that is bigger than something that you
- 27:03can do. So even in those moments that were bigger than me, I
- 27:08was sitting still and every time God just kept revealing himself over and over and
- 27:14over again. And we've been here for a year and a half have never
- 27:17been late on this huge mortgage. We live a good life, and when
- 27:22it was all happening, I was just like, this is crazy. And
- 27:26even sometimes I still get like, oh my God. But every month,
- 27:30every day, I watch him work it out smoothly, smoother than I could
- 27:34ever work it out, and so I'm thankful. But I think that's the
- 27:38story that you're talking about. Yes, Yes, the reason why I have
- 27:44had you to share all these stories is because, like I said at the
- 27:48beginning and throughout our podcast time, you have often mentioned the Holy Spirit.

- 29:11love you, love you, love you so much with the love of the

- 29:21to Trigger Reactions Conquered with Lisa Hopkins, and remember, go with God and
- 29:26operate in nothing but the Holy Spirit. Amen. Welcome to Suerent Reactions with
