- 0:00Speaker 1: For everybody who doesn't follow me on social media. I'm
- 0:02Speaker 1: announcing my new stand up tour. It's called Vaccinated and
- 0:05Speaker 1: a Horny. That's referring to me and I have some dates.
- 0:10Speaker 1: We have a pre sale that is on sale right now.
- 0:13Speaker 1: If it's still the pre sale, the password is horny
- 0:17Speaker 1: to get tickets. If you miss the pre sale, just
- 0:19Speaker 1: go get your tickets. I'm coming to a city near you.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I'm coming everywhere, you guys, everywhere. So I'm really excited
- 0:25Speaker 1: and I can't wait to see everybody. So there's that.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Here we are on another beautiful, sunny, glorious Californian too
- 0:33Speaker 1: hot day, Brandon. I know it's really warming up quickly.
- 0:36Speaker 1: It's hot because global warming is happening and a California
- 0:40Speaker 1: seems to be melting. No, you're gonna be fucked because
- 0:44Speaker 1: there will be no ice left now. There's no ice left,
- 0:47Speaker 1: by the way, the ice in the fridge weaves that
- 0:48Speaker 1: weird taste in your mouth in the main al. Yeah, yeah,
- 0:51Speaker 1: it's a problem with I know. Can you mention how
- 0:53Speaker 1: disappointed I am? Very Yeah, it's getting very, very hot,
- 0:57Speaker 1: and I don't like the heat. I don't like it
- 1:00Speaker 1: when it's hot hot. People think l A is like
- 1:02Speaker 1: some paradise, but it's much hotter than it used. People
- 1:05Speaker 1: forget that it's basically a dessert here. Yes, it's a desert,
- 1:08Speaker 1: you're right. I forget that. I that it's like tropical. No,
- 1:11Speaker 1: it's sucking hot. Yeah, and everything is brown and arid.
- 1:15Speaker 1: I want on a hike the other day, and I
- 1:17Speaker 1: wanted Sarah Silverman's and it's brown. Everything is brown, brown, brown,
- 1:21Speaker 1: brown brown. There's no lush greenery, even though I always
- 1:25Speaker 1: forget to California is the desert, and I think of
- 1:27Speaker 1: it as green because everywhere I live because they bring
- 1:29Speaker 1: the greenery in and then it's so expensive to maintain. Yeah, right, right, unbelievable.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I'm having a diet coke right now, you guys. I
- 1:37Speaker 1: couldn't help my donald's. Yeah, I had to, you guys.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I had a really really late night last night, so
- 1:42Speaker 1: we did stop at McDonald's muffin. I got a sausage McMuffin,
- 1:46Speaker 1: which I love and I haven't had one since I've
- 1:47Speaker 1: been home, sweetheart, and hash brown, which I just want
- 1:51Speaker 1: to smash my face into. That's how delicious it is.
- 1:53Speaker 1: So I like to get a sausage, egg and cheesewick muffin,
- 1:56Speaker 1: the hot cakes and two hash Brown's. That's my hangover
- 1:59Speaker 1: me hot cakes. Yes, they're pancakes, taste cake. I don't
- 2:04Speaker 1: give a ship about pancakes. I don't care. I don't.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I don't think I've had a pancake. We're going to
- 2:10Speaker 1: have one. Oh no, no, no. I don't care about pancakes.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Maybe blueberry if they were stuffed with blueberries. But I
- 2:15Speaker 1: don't care about pancakes at all. I don't want French toes.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I don't want pancakes. I want eggs and cheese and
- 2:20Speaker 1: like fry. You know, is when you get as sweet
- 2:23Speaker 1: craving you have to have like you will scour the
- 2:26Speaker 1: house for anything sweet, But I default to sweet. I
- 2:28Speaker 1: don't care about. My favorite chocolates are called Toby Tobin's
- 2:31Speaker 1: and they're dark, dark chocolate, sea salt on them, and
- 2:35Speaker 1: Brandon has a box of them for me at the
- 2:38Speaker 1: house all the time, and he hides them because I
- 2:41Speaker 1: can't control myself. But they have these. They're so fucking good.
- 2:44Speaker 1: They make this turtle. Any of their nutted chocolates, don't
- 2:48Speaker 1: say nutted, Oh my god, they nutted chocolates, any of
- 2:51Speaker 1: their chocolates Turtle. By the way, when you're talking about chocolate, well,
- 2:54Speaker 1: they're best the Nutcluster. They're best that I've had is
- 2:57Speaker 1: their Rocky Road. It is delic But did you tell
- 3:00Speaker 1: the woman that I just want the ones with the
- 3:02Speaker 1: nuts in that? Yes? I sent an email, But why
- 3:04Speaker 1: does she keep giving me the ones that? Because they're
- 3:06Speaker 1: pre their boxes. So the boxes that we get are
- 3:08Speaker 1: predetermined because they come in different sizes and they have
- 3:11Speaker 1: the chocolates that they put in those boxes, so they're
- 3:13Speaker 1: made up and ready to go. So I let her
- 3:15Speaker 1: know that we wanted to customize a Chelsea Handler. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:19Speaker 1: I think it's time that priority. She knows I'm like
- 3:21Speaker 1: her best probably your best customer in town. She's very grateful.
- 3:24Speaker 1: She sends very nice messages. She loves nay Hi Toby.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I should follow chuck her out at the Malibu Country Mart.
- 3:31Speaker 1: You will not regret it. Oh wait, is that where
- 3:33Speaker 1: she is in Malibu? Yeah, they moved from Brentwood. They're
- 3:35Speaker 1: in Malibu now. Their stores really cute. I really just
- 3:39Speaker 1: want weed update. Well, this is week for Weed. This
- 3:43Speaker 1: is week four, Brandon. I'm losing track. Well because you've
- 3:46Speaker 1: done so well. There's not been any issues. Really, you've
- 3:49Speaker 1: not lost it, Okay. I'm just I thought it would
- 3:52Speaker 1: be more excited that I was able to accomplish four
- 3:54Speaker 1: weeks of no Pianovius smoking, and I don't feel excited.
- 3:57Speaker 1: I'm just like, okay, well you have strong will hour.
- 4:00Speaker 1: So I think that's part of it too, that it
- 4:02Speaker 1: really for me, at least from the outside, it was
- 4:04Speaker 1: never going to be that much of a feat because
- 4:06Speaker 1: you've done it before, you could do it again, and
- 4:09Speaker 1: it's not like heroin or crack. We're like, oh my god,
- 4:11Speaker 1: I have to have this, like get through my day.
- 4:13Speaker 1: It was a nice booster. But now you're gonna be
- 4:15Speaker 1: able to enjoy it again and it won't take you
- 4:18Speaker 1: twenty five milligrams to feel high, right exactly. So yeah,
- 4:21Speaker 1: I'll be lightheaded. I have to be very careful about
- 4:23Speaker 1: my intake. I'm gonna start micro doosing up two point
- 4:25Speaker 1: five milligrams. Yeah, just just start. I'm just gonna start
- 4:28Speaker 1: all over again. Just pretend it's all over again, like
- 4:32Speaker 1: your weed virgin. You know. I think I'm just done
- 4:35Speaker 1: with it, Like I want to smoke now. It's like, okay,
- 4:37Speaker 1: I did it. I showed you, Okay, but I was
- 4:39Speaker 1: at my girlfriend's the other night and it was hard
- 4:42Speaker 1: because there were people smoking joints and I was like, wow,
- 4:44Speaker 1: I really want one, and I just had to literally
- 4:46Speaker 1: walk away. So you're getting the weed cravings now, well
- 4:48Speaker 1: it's not. No, it wasn't the weed craving. It was
- 4:50Speaker 1: like the social aspect of it. I wanted to be
- 4:52Speaker 1: part of it, but you wanted to get stones, you know,
- 4:55Speaker 1: like I wanted to be like stoney baloney, but with people. Yeah,
- 4:59Speaker 1: because there are times people will do it on their
- 5:01Speaker 1: back patio by themselves. Some brand just sent me a
- 5:04Speaker 1: huge thing of new joints. So as soon as I
- 5:07Speaker 1: break this, that's where I'm headed. That's nice to have
- 5:09Speaker 1: that to look forward to. Yeah. Blazy lazy something they're
- 5:12Speaker 1: called lazy Susan. Is it blaze Susan? Thank you, Lazy Susan.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Speaking of cravings, do you have cravings when you get stoned?
- 5:19Speaker 1: Because you often talk about women get the muncheese, and
- 5:22Speaker 1: I always associate that, like I feel like I have
- 5:24Speaker 1: pregnancy cravings when I'm stoned. I always kind of want
- 5:26Speaker 1: the same things. You have, things that you go to,
- 5:28Speaker 1: like McDonald's del taco. Obviously, I love McDonald's breakfast if
- 5:33Speaker 1: I'm hungover, So that's a morning morning tree. You wouldn't
- 5:37Speaker 1: have that at night when No, no, no, they don't
- 5:40Speaker 1: serve breakfast at more civilized that they do. This is
- 5:43Speaker 1: this is a new development for for you maybe, but
- 5:46Speaker 1: they actually started doing all day breakfast probably like two
- 5:49Speaker 1: years ago. So now you can get your sausagea McMuffin,
- 5:52Speaker 1: your hotcakes, which discussed you, but really excite me at
- 5:56Speaker 1: any time, so it may be a good late night. No. No,
- 5:59Speaker 1: I'm going to just keep out where it is in
- 6:00Speaker 1: my head because I don't need to add anything else
- 6:02Speaker 1: to my repertoire. I don't have anything in the house
- 6:05Speaker 1: that's even fun to eat except for my Toby Tobe
- 6:07Speaker 1: and chocolate. So even when I get stoned, I don't
- 6:09Speaker 1: it's not about the food because there's nothing there. I
- 6:12Speaker 1: have turkey, and I have tomatoes, and I have egg
- 6:15Speaker 1: whites and chocolate. Well, you really do yourself a service
- 6:19Speaker 1: in that way by keeping everything very clean in the house.
- 6:21Speaker 1: But there's nothing worse than when you are stoned and
- 6:24Speaker 1: you really want something, And well, what about if you're
- 6:27Speaker 1: me and you don't even know how to operate Postmates,
- 6:29Speaker 1: and so you're really stoned and you do want a
- 6:31Speaker 1: meal and you can't even do it. You know, benitos tacos,
- 6:36Speaker 1: that's a good one. Last time I got really stoned,
- 6:39Speaker 1: I made leave I drive to get it because it
- 6:41Speaker 1: was out of the delivery zone. And that's he knew
- 6:43Speaker 1: I needed it badly. Fry taco shells and the reason
- 6:47Speaker 1: why they're so delicious. So they have like carnitas and
- 6:51Speaker 1: then they have beef shredded. It's all, and they have
- 6:54Speaker 1: the chicken. But at that point you might as well
- 6:57Speaker 1: just go for it because it's dipped in oil and fried.
- 6:59Speaker 1: It's like you're not trying to get chicken over beef.
- 7:02Speaker 1: At that point, you might as well just get the
- 7:03Speaker 1: cancer straight away. I v it. As you can see
- 7:08Speaker 1: by that part of the conversation that we have some
- 7:10Speaker 1: unhealthy habits, but also I've been on this nutritional I
- 7:16Speaker 1: really do hate using the word journey now that it's
- 7:18Speaker 1: been set up that we shouldn't be using it. Sometimes
- 7:21Speaker 1: it's the only word that works well. We need to
- 7:22Speaker 1: come up with a replacement word then, because journey is
- 7:25Speaker 1: just is too it's overused and it's I can't this
- 7:28Speaker 1: nutrition experience. I don't know how that works either, but
- 7:31Speaker 1: anyways of it maybe. Yeah, so we haven't healthy happits.
- 7:34Speaker 1: We're going to talk to our nutritionist Mark today. We're
- 7:38Speaker 1: gonna talk about some body image issues, things that we
- 7:41Speaker 1: all seemingly he's done with. Yeah, he's been my nutritionist
- 7:45Speaker 1: since I was I think the first time I saw
- 7:46Speaker 1: him was when I was twenty seven and forty six,
- 7:49Speaker 1: so I've known him for twenty years and Brandon's have
- 7:51Speaker 1: recently got on the band wagon with him as well.
- 7:53Speaker 1: It's a good way to engage in like healthy clean
- 7:56Speaker 1: eating and living, and it kind of reframes your logic
- 7:58Speaker 1: around food and the way you kind of think about
- 8:01Speaker 1: what you're putting into your body. He always talks about
- 8:03Speaker 1: food as fuel and I'm like, oh, shut up, but
- 8:08Speaker 1: it's so true. It's like it is fuel. Like Larry
- 8:10Speaker 1: David had a quote where he said, whatever you're eating,
- 8:13Speaker 1: it is either helping to keep you alive or helping
- 8:15Speaker 1: to kill you. And I think that's that's really interesting. Well,
- 8:20Speaker 1: today we're going to have people calling in writing in
- 8:23Speaker 1: about body dysmorphia. We have an interesting submission about being
- 8:27Speaker 1: a gluttonist, someone who has really unhealthy eating habits. And
- 8:30Speaker 1: I'm like that, I have that, I have. I have
- 8:32Speaker 1: aspects of my personality that are gluttonous. If I have
- 8:34Speaker 1: a piece of food in my car, it ends up
- 8:36Speaker 1: in between my legs, stuck to my jeans. I watched
- 8:38Speaker 1: a video the other day of this woman saying about
- 8:40Speaker 1: her you know, eating habits, being gluttonous, and that she
- 8:43Speaker 1: will verbally tell herself these are here, I don't need
- 8:46Speaker 1: to eat them all in this sitting like you can
- 8:48Speaker 1: come back for these, It's okay to put them away.
- 8:51Speaker 1: And as simple as that sounds like, I would eat
- 8:54Speaker 1: an entire fucking bag or container of oreos, thinking like
- 8:57Speaker 1: who else is going to eat these before I get
- 8:59Speaker 1: back to them? So, yeah, I don't like finishing things
- 9:02Speaker 1: like that. I don't. I'm not going to finish a
- 9:03Speaker 1: container of oreos like that. That doesn't make me. Then
- 9:06Speaker 1: I'm like, WHOA, I fucking lost the plot. Yeah, and
- 9:08Speaker 1: that's a lot of my life, so I gotta get
- 9:11Speaker 1: on track. Yeah. Well, I guess that's that's why you
- 9:13Speaker 1: just don't get it. You don't have it around. If
- 9:14Speaker 1: you don't have it around, it does work that way,
- 9:17Speaker 1: I'm not gonna have something in my kitchen that I'm
- 9:19Speaker 1: not going to eat or demolish when I'm you know, weak,
- 9:22Speaker 1: I get it. Well, let's take a quick break and
- 9:24Speaker 1: then we will get into these submissions. So our first
- 9:28Speaker 1: emission comes from Aramb She is twenty six, and she
- 9:32Speaker 1: writes in Dear Chelsea, I have being diagnosed with body
- 9:35Speaker 1: dysmorphia and an eating disorder, and short, I hate my
- 9:37Speaker 1: body despite the fact that my body is technically considered
- 9:40Speaker 1: desirable or ideal by the American beauty standards. I work out,
- 9:45Speaker 1: eat healthy, wear clothes I like, but I can't find
- 9:47Speaker 1: anything that helps. How can I learn to love my body? Yeah? God,
- 9:52Speaker 1: it's really hard to love your body. I didn't start
- 9:54Speaker 1: loving my body until I was like in my forties,
- 9:56Speaker 1: and obviously everybody knows because I can't keep my top on.
- 9:58Speaker 1: But body dysmorphia just so common among women. It's really
- 10:01Speaker 1: really disenchanting to hear how many women struggle with positive
- 10:05Speaker 1: body image and have eating disorders before you entered your
- 10:08Speaker 1: forties and started to love your body. We're able to
- 10:11Speaker 1: embrace your body before that. Much healthier about my body
- 10:14Speaker 1: positivity now than I was when I was in my twenties,
- 10:16Speaker 1: I had antraxianer vosa. You know, when you exercise exceedingly
- 10:20Speaker 1: after you eat, just to burn all the calories. It's
- 10:22Speaker 1: kind of like what you have right now, that's what
- 10:24Speaker 1: And I had that. And I would go jogging for
- 10:27Speaker 1: a minimum hour, possibly two hours every day, depending on
- 10:30Speaker 1: how much I weigh that morning. I still weid myself
- 10:32Speaker 1: every day, you know, because you packed me with a
- 10:33Speaker 1: scale and report back. Yeah, And I let you know
- 10:36Speaker 1: because the weight could be an indicator of my mood.
- 10:38Speaker 1: It could really dictate my day. Like if I was
- 10:40Speaker 1: going to be in a good mood, I was this way.
- 10:43Speaker 1: If I was in a bad mood, it's three pounds heavier.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Really really embarrassing stuff to even have to admit, you know,
- 10:49Speaker 1: and so you don't admit it. You kind of hide
- 10:51Speaker 1: it the whole time. I definitely went through a bollimic
- 10:53Speaker 1: stage where I threw up for a while in my twenties,
- 10:56Speaker 1: and that kind of drifted probably for the full decade
- 10:58Speaker 1: of my twenties. I was just like, oh, I'll throw
- 11:00Speaker 1: it up, Like you know, I had no regard for
- 11:01Speaker 1: my well being, and so I finally just dawned on
- 11:04Speaker 1: me that I have to actually be physically fit and
- 11:06Speaker 1: strong and like I want to be, because you know,
- 11:08Speaker 1: bliemia messes with your mental alacrity, like you become foggy
- 11:12Speaker 1: obviously because you're depriving yourself of all the nutrients needed. Well.
- 11:15Speaker 1: So much of this is also the media's representation of women,
- 11:18Speaker 1: and I think that right now there's a real course
- 11:21Speaker 1: correction happening where there are active participants in media trying
- 11:25Speaker 1: to represent women accurately in appropriately so they don't feel
- 11:28Speaker 1: this burden. But men also feel this way, and I
- 11:31Speaker 1: don't know that's something men obviously don't speak about often
- 11:34Speaker 1: amongst themselves, amongst each other, but there's definitely especially around
- 11:38Speaker 1: l a you see it. It's embodied with these men
- 11:40Speaker 1: who spend hours upon hours in the gym, or are
- 11:43Speaker 1: so particular about their lifestyle habits, so they don't really
- 11:46Speaker 1: give themselves leeway to enjoy life because they are so
- 11:49Speaker 1: strict on their meal plans and their diet regimen and
- 11:52Speaker 1: their exercise program. So I think that everyone struggles with
- 11:56Speaker 1: this to some degree, but women certainly get the brunt
- 11:59Speaker 1: of trying to make maintain an unachievable standard yeah, and Rum,
- 12:03Speaker 1: you have to, like, it is your responsibility to get
- 12:05Speaker 1: yourself healthy during this time. And even though that seems
- 12:08Speaker 1: like you're climbing up a massive mountain, it is so
- 12:11Speaker 1: important for you to get yourself together now. So whether
- 12:13Speaker 1: that's like positive affirmations or meditating or you know, seeking counseling, Like,
- 12:19Speaker 1: you have to get yourself out of this habit because
- 12:21Speaker 1: it's just a rut and you are the only person
- 12:24Speaker 1: who has the power to do it, and someone's not
- 12:26Speaker 1: going to come along and be like you have to stop. Well,
- 12:28Speaker 1: Rom's on the phone, so let's tell me that. When
- 12:31Speaker 1: I was talking Hi Ram, Hi, Rom, you look like
- 12:37Speaker 1: a Disney princess. Yeah, you're adorable. Oh my gosh, wow,
- 12:40Speaker 1: thank you. Yeah. Did you get to hear anything of
- 12:42Speaker 1: what I just said. No, we were just talking about
- 12:46Speaker 1: how common this is. First of all, right, everyone deals
- 12:49Speaker 1: with this. Like I was just talking about my personal
- 12:52Speaker 1: history of eating disorders. When I was in my twenties,
- 12:54Speaker 1: I was very unhealthy, you know, I was believing I
- 12:57Speaker 1: had exercise in your vote. So I had a bunch
- 12:58Speaker 1: of all this stuff and my friends and I would
- 13:00Speaker 1: do it together. My friends and I would like throw
- 13:02Speaker 1: up together. I remember in my twenties, like I had
- 13:04Speaker 1: girlfriends who we were all believing together, like it was
- 13:06Speaker 1: our drill, and he was talking about male feelings having
- 13:10Speaker 1: the same feelings. How you know, prevalent is in the
- 13:12Speaker 1: gay world, so it's not unique at all. And you
- 13:15Speaker 1: are you are completely responsible for pulling yourself out of this.
- 13:18Speaker 1: You know, you have to change the narrative. And it's
- 13:21Speaker 1: so easy to make the change. I've done it, and
- 13:24Speaker 1: it seems like it's so much harder than it is,
- 13:27Speaker 1: Like it is so easy to pull yourself up, because
- 13:29Speaker 1: once you start to pull yourself up, like everything starts
- 13:32Speaker 1: to work out for you, and it's easier to get
- 13:33Speaker 1: away from bad habits. Yeah, it's I mean, one of
- 13:36Speaker 1: the things that makes it so incredibly difficult in in
- 13:40Speaker 1: the United States at least, is it's so much of
- 13:42Speaker 1: eating disordered behavior is seen as normal or or it's
- 13:46Speaker 1: like glamorized or encouraged. I mean, I was shocked when
- 13:51Speaker 1: I received my diagnosis last October because I didn't think
- 13:55Speaker 1: anything of my symptoms. And like you said, I've got
- 13:57Speaker 1: girlfriends who restrict and we talk about restricting or you know,
- 14:02Speaker 1: eating disorder behaviors and it's no one thinks twice about it. Well,
- 14:07Speaker 1: I think there's a movement happening towards healthy living that
- 14:10Speaker 1: people often confuse with dieting, where those are not mutually exclusive.
- 14:17Speaker 1: You can be someone who eats really clean but has
- 14:19Speaker 1: you know, a terrible drinking problem, which obviously affects the
- 14:23Speaker 1: quality of health in your life. Why are you staring
- 14:25Speaker 1: at me when you say something like that, Well, you're
- 14:27Speaker 1: just here. I mean, what is it? So your restriction
- 14:29Speaker 1: you restrict yourself from food? Is that? Yeah? Okay? For days,
- 14:35Speaker 1: just very minimal, Like I would go to cross fit,
- 14:38Speaker 1: come home and have broth for dinner, right right, So
- 14:41Speaker 1: it was just like I would just see how little
- 14:45Speaker 1: I could do basically for as long as I could,
- 14:50Speaker 1: or the bare minimum. But doesn't it make you think
- 14:52Speaker 1: when you know it affects your mental like crispness and clarity,
- 14:56Speaker 1: how does that make you feel? So I'm in recovery,
- 15:00Speaker 1: and that's one of the things I do try and
- 15:02Speaker 1: continue to tell myself, like, you don't want to go
- 15:05Speaker 1: back to that melancholic state where everything just has this
- 15:08Speaker 1: gray haze and you're miserable and anxious, and and you
- 15:13Speaker 1: know that's what I try to hold onto. What makes
- 15:16Speaker 1: it so difficult is I look in the mirror and
- 15:18Speaker 1: I'm just so disappointed with what I see. And there
- 15:22Speaker 1: are days where I look in the mirror and I
- 15:24Speaker 1: hate what I see. And that's what is so hard
- 15:28Speaker 1: to shake so often, And I'm just part of why
- 15:32Speaker 1: I sent the emails because I'm feel like at times
- 15:35Speaker 1: I'm grasping at straws with myself. Well, you have to
- 15:38Speaker 1: grasp a little harder at the good straws. You're a
- 15:40Speaker 1: beautiful young girl. You have your whole life ahead of you,
- 15:43Speaker 1: So this is not going to be your story that
- 15:45Speaker 1: you had a needing disorder. This isn't going to be
- 15:46Speaker 1: your story, and that's why you have to get rid
- 15:48Speaker 1: of it and start your story. You know, this is
- 15:50Speaker 1: just a little fraction of your life, and it's not
- 15:53Speaker 1: as big as you think it is. It's just being
- 15:55Speaker 1: treated like it's the biggest thing in the world. It's
- 15:58Speaker 1: just a little passage of time, and you're up to
- 16:00Speaker 1: make that passage of time as sure as possible. It's
- 16:02Speaker 1: up to you. Yeah, can I ask you this? So far,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I've not told anyone about this diagnosis, like none of
- 16:11Speaker 1: my friends, because I just I don't even know how
- 16:13Speaker 1: to approach it myself, much less trying to involve my
- 16:15Speaker 1: loved ones. None of my family knows. Only my boyfriend knows.
- 16:19Speaker 1: That's it. What are your thoughts on me sharing this
- 16:22Speaker 1: with more people, or at least people in my inner circle?
- 16:26Speaker 1: What would be your reason for sharing it with everyone?
- 16:29Speaker 1: I guess emotional support if I'm having a bad day,
- 16:32Speaker 1: or someone to fall back on, or you know, advice. See.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I think that this is something that you should confide
- 16:39Speaker 1: in your circle with even people that you may not
- 16:41Speaker 1: necessarily be close to it because the more you normalize
- 16:45Speaker 1: it for other women or men going through it and
- 16:48Speaker 1: can have that conversation and have people holding you accountable
- 16:51Speaker 1: and explain that this is a process and so some
- 16:53Speaker 1: days you may fall short, some days you may have
- 16:56Speaker 1: a more positive outlook. It's just going to make that
- 16:59Speaker 1: experience fee. Will you have people behind you who are
- 17:02Speaker 1: willing to go through this experience with you? Yeah? Yeah,
- 17:07Speaker 1: But the most important narrative again is the one you're
- 17:09Speaker 1: telling yourself, like it really isn't about other people. It's
- 17:11Speaker 1: good to have other people, yes, but that should not
- 17:13Speaker 1: be your crutch. You're your crutch and you're going to
- 17:15Speaker 1: get yourself out of this, and your diagnosis does not
- 17:18Speaker 1: define you. It's a diagnosis for a period of time
- 17:21Speaker 1: in your life. That's not the way it has to be. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:26Speaker 1: all right, we'll keep us posted. Okay, okay, great, Thank
- 17:29Speaker 1: you so much for having me on. Please take being
- 17:31Speaker 1: our patient seriously and take my advice. I will. I mean,
- 17:35Speaker 1: another reason I reached out is how frank you are,
- 17:38Speaker 1: and I mean I love that you post pictures of
- 17:40Speaker 1: yourself naked, and I'm like, that's what I want. That
- 17:44Speaker 1: could be you too. I want to post my tits
- 17:46Speaker 1: online too. Well. One day girl, one day, one day. Well,
- 17:50Speaker 1: thanks rom, Okay, thanks to Rob. Yeah, thank you guys
- 17:53Speaker 1: so much for wrong I mean, I'm not trying to
- 17:56Speaker 1: diminish anyone's eating disorders, but they seem to have changed
- 17:59Speaker 1: since I was growing up, because calorie restriction is now
- 18:01Speaker 1: a thing, like yes, like I'm in a calorie deficit. Yeah, okay, sweetheart,
- 18:05Speaker 1: we all know what's going on through your body. You're
- 18:07Speaker 1: going through the change. I'm trying to go through a change.
- 18:10Speaker 1: One of them would going through the change because I
- 18:11Speaker 1: am sick and tired of getting my period. I would
- 18:14Speaker 1: love for you to go through the change so we
- 18:15Speaker 1: could finally regulate the fucking temperature in the house. Can
- 18:17Speaker 1: you imagine what a contact would be going through menopause
- 18:19Speaker 1: or maybe I'm scared of me, but there'd be a
- 18:22Speaker 1: light at the end of the tunnel. It's like the vaccine,
- 18:24Speaker 1: Like I'd know that something good was going to be
- 18:25Speaker 1: in death, the light being death, the light at the
- 18:28Speaker 1: end of the tunnel being my demise. I I don't
- 18:35Speaker 1: like to think of your demise because then I really
- 18:36Speaker 1: like to think about what that means for me. I'm
- 18:38Speaker 1: not ready for that. I'm getting hungry, sweetheart. Okay, well,
- 18:41Speaker 1: let's get through at least. What I was going to
- 18:43Speaker 1: say is so calori restriction, Yes, you're in a calorie deficit.
- 18:46Speaker 1: So calorie restriction, like eating disorders, have to be handled
- 18:49Speaker 1: with much more attention than they were in my time,
- 18:51Speaker 1: because in my time, you couldn't, like, you know, nobody
- 18:53Speaker 1: cared that you had a needing disorder because everyone did.
- 18:56Speaker 1: And now it's like, oh, we see the damage it
- 18:57Speaker 1: does to you throughout your life. So now it's like
- 19:00Speaker 1: people aren't doing things is damaging, but it's still damaging.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I also think that there was a time where fat
- 19:06Speaker 1: diets were so prevalent that everyone was switching their diets
- 19:09Speaker 1: so regularly that no one thought of anything. Is putting
- 19:12Speaker 1: on ten pounds every diet causing you to gain weight
- 19:14Speaker 1: instead of lose weight. Eating disorders are like a diamond,
- 19:17Speaker 1: doesn't I'm actually, you know, when I meet somebody who
- 19:19Speaker 1: hasn't had experience, is it shocking for you with an
- 19:22Speaker 1: eating disorder? I'm just like, oh wow, So lucky girls
- 19:25Speaker 1: problems are they eat too much when they get high
- 19:28Speaker 1: and they have trouble going to the bathroom. You gave
- 19:30Speaker 1: this advice and your special but you might as well
- 19:31Speaker 1: give it again now for any woman who can't go
- 19:33Speaker 1: to the restaurant. Magnesium O three by Aerobic Life. They're
- 19:35Speaker 1: over the counter and their magnesium and calcium, so they
- 19:39Speaker 1: help you sleep and they help you go to the
- 19:40Speaker 1: bathroom every day. And if you get into the habit
- 19:42Speaker 1: of taking them, you will never have a problem again.
- 19:43Speaker 1: That's two problems solved, sleep and pooping. Everyone comes back
- 19:47Speaker 1: and say's like, thank you so much for that, because
- 19:49Speaker 1: you don't want to be taking laxatives and stuff like that.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Now you want to be careful with your but I know, well,
- 19:56Speaker 1: of course you know, but I don't have that as
- 19:58Speaker 1: much experience with my own you know what I mean,
- 20:01Speaker 1: I don't know it. I need to know more. No
- 20:04Speaker 1: one needs to know more. What they need to know
- 20:05Speaker 1: you just told them. And that's Maco seven. I've taken it. God, wait,
- 20:10Speaker 1: fucking sucks. Oh your diet sucks around. We feel for you. Okay,
- 20:15Speaker 1: So our next mission is a rite in under the
- 20:18Speaker 1: pseudonym the Gluttonists. Well, this is right up my the gluttonist.
- 20:24Speaker 1: The Gluttonist writes, Dear Chelsea, I'm a binge eater. I
- 20:27Speaker 1: eat until I feel sick, but I won't purge. I
- 20:29Speaker 1: just get depressed. Well this is right on topic. Seriously,
- 20:33Speaker 1: I just get depressed and lie around until I eventually
- 20:35Speaker 1: starved myself for the day, until I feel like I
- 20:38Speaker 1: deserve to eat food again. I've been living the cycle
- 20:41Speaker 1: for twenty years, and I've gone from a healthy weight
- 20:43Speaker 1: to an unhealthy wait countless times. I can't maintain healthy
- 20:46Speaker 1: eating habits to save my life. I'm a single mom
- 20:49Speaker 1: and a partnered relationship and hide my binge eating from everyone.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Ever since the lockdown and pandemic, I haven't been able
- 20:55Speaker 1: to control myself. Things have gotten out of hand and
- 20:57Speaker 1: I've gained fifty pounds. I want to have another child,
- 21:00Speaker 1: get married, and love my body, but my mind controls
- 21:03Speaker 1: my hand and mouth. Save me, give me the ross
- 21:07Speaker 1: form of Chelsea Handler advice. Save me from myself, Sincerely,
- 21:10Speaker 1: the glutton Nest. We both actually have this issue. Yeah, totally.
- 21:15Speaker 1: I have a total lack of control over myself until
- 21:18Speaker 1: well then, but that's not true because then I also
- 21:20Speaker 1: have a good willpower when I want it. So but
- 21:22Speaker 1: I think that that's kind of what she's saying as well,
- 21:24Speaker 1: that she doesn't have healthy habits, but it's been a cycle.
- 21:28Speaker 1: I think. First of all, for someone like that, I
- 21:31Speaker 1: think they need to eat on a timer to get
- 21:32Speaker 1: themselves re habituated to something else. Like what you do
- 21:36Speaker 1: you eat every three to four hours. I also ideally
- 21:38Speaker 1: eat every three to four hours, but I think you
- 21:40Speaker 1: should because that's really when your blood sugar stabilizes, like
- 21:44Speaker 1: if you eat healthfully, like if you have say four
- 21:46Speaker 1: ounces of a protein and like you know, a tablespoon
- 21:49Speaker 1: of peanut butter or an ounce of avocado or tablespoon
- 21:52Speaker 1: of salad dressing, and then you have some berries or
- 21:55Speaker 1: you have some vegetables. If you eat like that and
- 21:58Speaker 1: are really healthy, and you are like very controlled and
- 22:02Speaker 1: eat every three to four hours, which is our nutritionist
- 22:05Speaker 1: Mark's plan. Essentially, I think it gets you on a program.
- 22:09Speaker 1: It's like you don't have to think about doing that
- 22:11Speaker 1: for life. It's how you think about getting yourself out
- 22:14Speaker 1: of this rut. And the number one reminder I would
- 22:17Speaker 1: say to use is your child. Every time you go
- 22:20Speaker 1: to the fridge before that timer's up, just set your
- 22:22Speaker 1: time around your phone like I do. And just any
- 22:25Speaker 1: time you're about to break or do anything, just remember
- 22:27Speaker 1: that you have a daughter that you need to be
- 22:29Speaker 1: healthy for, or a son. I don't know if you
- 22:31Speaker 1: have a daughter son. She didn't mention that. She just
- 22:32Speaker 1: said she was a single mom. Right, Okay, so maybe
- 22:34Speaker 1: you have more kids, which is better because the more
- 22:36Speaker 1: you care. But I think you really need to get
- 22:39Speaker 1: yourself out of this habit. Brandon, what do you think?
- 22:42Speaker 1: This is exactly That's exactly what I was gonna say.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Because my relationship to food, my life revolved around it.
- 22:47Speaker 1: If I was sad, food was there. If I was happy,
- 22:49Speaker 1: food was there. It was because I didn't my family
- 22:51Speaker 1: didn't grow up with a lot of money. It was
- 22:53Speaker 1: kind of the one thing everyone had to give to
- 22:55Speaker 1: show affection or it was based on every interaction. So
- 23:00Speaker 1: doing Mark's plan, which the way Chelsea describes it, it
- 23:03Speaker 1: seems like, oh, that seems like a lot of work.
- 23:05Speaker 1: It's a macro plan, so you have a certain amount
- 23:06Speaker 1: of protein fat in the carb at every meal. It's
- 23:08Speaker 1: very balanced and you never get that afternoon sync where
- 23:12Speaker 1: you feel tired. So it just kind of maintains healthy
- 23:15Speaker 1: levels in your body. And you can find out online.
- 23:18Speaker 1: You do a macro calculator, so you know, but the
- 23:20Speaker 1: timer holds you accountable. So you're getting back into this. Now,
- 23:23Speaker 1: what's this thing called Venice Nutrition nutrition, So go to
- 23:26Speaker 1: venice nutrition dot com. You don't have to sign up necessarily,
- 23:29Speaker 1: but just get a look at what his whole philosophy is.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Because it works. I've done it, Brandon's been doing it.
- 23:34Speaker 1: He feels incredible. You get a ton of energy, you
- 23:36Speaker 1: get your self respect back because you're in control of
- 23:39Speaker 1: the situation, and it seems like right now you're out
- 23:41Speaker 1: of control. So you just want to use this as
- 23:43Speaker 1: a tool to get yourself on the straight and narrow,
- 23:46Speaker 1: because you do not want to be hiding binging, and
- 23:49Speaker 1: you don't want to be doing that. That's not being
- 23:50Speaker 1: strong for your kids or for yourself really, So go
- 23:53Speaker 1: to Venice nutrition dot com, do a little research and
- 23:57Speaker 1: just you are in control of this. This is something
- 23:59Speaker 1: that relationship to food, what you eat and how often
- 24:02Speaker 1: you eat, you can control. It seems impossible sometimes because
- 24:05Speaker 1: everyone has a craving and we all go off. It's
- 24:08Speaker 1: not going to be of the time that you're going
- 24:11Speaker 1: to be in control, but you can always get yourself
- 24:12Speaker 1: back to that point. And also if you can find
- 24:15Speaker 1: a well respected hypnotist in your area, because I went
- 24:18Speaker 1: to carry a gainer in l A for smoking and
- 24:21Speaker 1: that worked, and everyone's like, it's never gonna work on you,
- 24:24Speaker 1: it's never gonna work, and it worked. I've never smoked
- 24:26Speaker 1: a cigarette since I met him. Well, and we've sent
- 24:29Speaker 1: countless people to carry gainer and they have and they've
- 24:31Speaker 1: all quit smoking. So typically people who can hypnotize you
- 24:34Speaker 1: to quit smoking can hypnotize you for eating disorders, for
- 24:37Speaker 1: fear of flying. So if there is somebody in your
- 24:39Speaker 1: area and you're not in l A, if you are
- 24:41Speaker 1: an l A carry gainer, and then the other thing
- 24:44Speaker 1: is yes, go to Venice nutrition dot com and check
- 24:47Speaker 1: it out. Start saying the sentence you don't have an
- 24:49Speaker 1: eating disorder. You had an eating disorder period. It's in
- 24:53Speaker 1: the past, so turn your future into what you want.
- 24:56Speaker 1: A great advice, I would like to know the glutton.
- 25:00Speaker 1: If there's a change, keep us posted. But it's hard
- 25:04Speaker 1: because you just have to like say no to yourself.
- 25:07Speaker 1: So now that I've been doing this, and I did
- 25:09Speaker 1: it for four weeks very strict, I did not deviate
- 25:12Speaker 1: from the plane at all. There was no sugar. In
- 25:14Speaker 1: the beginning, it seems like you're never going to get controller,
- 25:17Speaker 1: you're never going to be okay with having limited options
- 25:20Speaker 1: or having a limited amount of something. But then you
- 25:22Speaker 1: realize how off track you had gotten with food that
- 25:26Speaker 1: like everything, and especially in America, the portions are huge.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Everything is very seasoned with salt, Like we're just conditioned
- 25:32Speaker 1: to eat a certain way, and we're also conditioned to
- 25:34Speaker 1: eat all the time when it's so unnecessary to take
- 25:37Speaker 1: in so much food and things become so much more
- 25:41Speaker 1: of a treat. So like I got this. It's from
- 25:43Speaker 1: a company called Skinny Bitch. They do that color flower
- 25:46Speaker 1: pizza and that's been like if I want something I
- 25:47Speaker 1: feel like is bad but still relatively good and it's delicious,
- 25:51Speaker 1: so I don't feel like I'm sacrificing anything. Now you
- 25:53Speaker 1: should save your sacrifices for margaritas. Anyway. Well that's what
- 25:56Speaker 1: I try and do, knowing that Monday, Wednesday and Friday
- 25:58Speaker 1: we've been going from Margharita's and a roller blo I know,
- 26:00Speaker 1: but we have to change that schedule up a little bit.
- 26:03Speaker 1: We didn't go rollerblading every day last week, now we didn't.
- 26:06Speaker 1: We went one day. I think we go rolling on Mondays?
- 26:09Speaker 1: Is that the days I think? I think we need
- 26:11Speaker 1: to switch that up to Friday, because I think that's
- 26:12Speaker 1: a great way to wrap up. I think you're right
- 26:14Speaker 1: about that as usual. Okay, we've been talking about Mark
- 26:17Speaker 1: for the last ten minutes, so let's just get him
- 26:18Speaker 1: on the phone. Oh, here we go, Jesus, I love
- 26:26Speaker 1: you Mark. How happy are you that we have come
- 26:31Speaker 1: full circle? So Brandon went on your program. I start
- 26:35Speaker 1: every day thinking I'm going to do the program, and
- 26:38Speaker 1: then every day, you know, like I can't wait three
- 26:41Speaker 1: to four hours for my next meal because I was
- 26:43Speaker 1: getting stoned a lot. So I was eating a lot
- 26:46Speaker 1: and then I was like, okay, this is a vicious cycle.
- 26:48Speaker 1: And then finally I came home from Whistler and Brandon
- 26:52Speaker 1: was on your program, had lost all this body fat,
- 26:55Speaker 1: lost all this weight. And I was like, oh my god,
- 26:57Speaker 1: I've got to do it, and I've been doing it,
- 26:59Speaker 1: and honestly, just like that, my body leaned out, just
- 27:02Speaker 1: like that, like five days, five days, I'm ripped. You
- 27:07Speaker 1: are like, you look amazing always, you never age and
- 27:12Speaker 1: you get sexier every single day. Well, I appreciate that
- 27:15Speaker 1: kind of endorsement. Mark. Do you see Brandon's body? Brandon,
- 27:19Speaker 1: did you show Chelsea your abs? Like bending over? He said,
- 27:22Speaker 1: He's listen, you're turning him. This is the problem. Mark.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Mark has been my nutritionist for like, I don't know,
- 27:27Speaker 1: almost twenty twenty years forever. I met you when I
- 27:31Speaker 1: was twenty seven, so yeah, almost twenty years. Anyway. I
- 27:35Speaker 1: went to him because I had never had abs, right
- 27:38Speaker 1: kind of like yeah, and I had never been you know, remember,
- 27:43Speaker 1: I had real issues. When I came to you, Mark,
- 27:45Speaker 1: I was like, you know, so obsessed with my weight
- 27:47Speaker 1: and so obsessed with my body, and you put me
- 27:51Speaker 1: on a program of healthy eating every three to four hours.
- 27:54Speaker 1: You know, protein, fat, and carbs in a healthy way.
- 27:58Speaker 1: And I felt incredible. After two weeks, I had just
- 28:00Speaker 1: dropped like three or four percent body fat. And the
- 28:03Speaker 1: key is to really not ever over eat and always
- 28:06Speaker 1: eat when you're hungry, right, so you're never starving your
- 28:09Speaker 1: body and you're never storing fat. And then you got
- 28:11Speaker 1: me ready for a couple of bikini covers I had
- 28:13Speaker 1: to do. And I always try and stay on the diet,
- 28:16Speaker 1: but you know, sometimes it's it's not even a diet really,
- 28:19Speaker 1: it's a lifestyle. Yes, it is retraining the way you
- 28:23Speaker 1: think about food, your interaction with food, how you view
- 28:26Speaker 1: food as a necessity or a fuel. It can still
- 28:29Speaker 1: be a luxury, can still be something that you enjoy,
- 28:32Speaker 1: but it doesn't need to be at this maximized. You
- 28:36Speaker 1: don't have to be obsessed with food. Brandon, you make
- 28:39Speaker 1: me so proud man, Like you're like just rocking it.
- 28:42Speaker 1: And Chelsea, I still remember when we first met. I
- 28:45Speaker 1: called you, you know, when I was in Valencia, California,
- 28:48Speaker 1: and I'm on the phone with you, and that was
- 28:51Speaker 1: just you know, you you inspire me because you take action,
- 28:54Speaker 1: You love your health, you understand the importance of your health.
- 28:57Speaker 1: You challenge me, you yell at me in a van way,
- 29:00Speaker 1: and we have so much fun together because you understood
- 29:02Speaker 1: food and then how to take your body to another
- 29:05Speaker 1: another way and how to make it a way of life.
- 29:07Speaker 1: We talked about how busy you are and how hard
- 29:09Speaker 1: it is to eat when you're on the go. But
- 29:11Speaker 1: you to me when you got ready for the shape cover.
- 29:14Speaker 1: As you continue to live, as every year passes, you
- 29:17Speaker 1: just understand your food and what I love about choose
- 29:19Speaker 1: once you know it. You can choose to not do
- 29:22Speaker 1: it for a moment, but you always come back to it,
- 29:24Speaker 1: and that's inspiring. Yeah. And my my first question when
- 29:27Speaker 1: I went to him was like, I don't want to
- 29:28Speaker 1: give up alcohol. What can we do? And he said, okay,
- 29:32Speaker 1: you have to just have one drink a week for
- 29:36Speaker 1: the next you know, few weeks, and then we can
- 29:38Speaker 1: reintroduce the alcohol at a much more you know, reasonable level,
- 29:43Speaker 1: everything in moderation. Yeah. Well, sometimes this day we still
- 29:48Speaker 1: have the Chelsea salmon, asparagus and vodka. That is the
- 29:52Speaker 1: meal for everybody right there. That was the Chelsea favorite. Anyway, right,
- 29:58Speaker 1: are you standing up? I need you to set the
- 30:00Speaker 1: funk down because your energy is already jumping through the screen.
- 30:03Speaker 1: You know how he is. He's like this all of
- 30:05Speaker 1: the time. He will hug you when you see him,
- 30:07Speaker 1: whether you want to be hugged or not, and he'll
- 30:09Speaker 1: hold on tight. He is maximum energy at all times.
- 30:13Speaker 1: I am standing, by the way, Yeah, of course you're standing. Listen.
- 30:16Speaker 1: You burned three times more calorie standing rather than sitting.
- 30:19Speaker 1: So I'm being smart with my with the time I have. Okay, yeah,
- 30:23Speaker 1: copy that. I want to talk to you a little
- 30:26Speaker 1: bit about Brandon because Brandon is getting very body obsessive.
- 30:29Speaker 1: And the other day he said that he shaved his
- 30:31Speaker 1: stomach to show you his apps because he's worried that
- 30:35Speaker 1: his bottom two abs are not popping, which I had
- 30:39Speaker 1: never heard that term before. And I said, you're going
- 30:42Speaker 1: to get into a situation where you're as obsessed as
- 30:44Speaker 1: I was about your body. And so I wanted to
- 30:47Speaker 1: talk to you about that, because how do you not
- 30:50Speaker 1: become you know, when you start manipulating your weight and
- 30:52Speaker 1: your body and you see, you know how lean you
- 30:54Speaker 1: can get and how much energy is derived from being
- 30:57Speaker 1: healthy about your diet, you can get a sessive Yeah,
- 31:01Speaker 1: I mean I think with Brandon The real challenge that
- 31:04Speaker 1: he's had, and and I've known Brandon for years, is
- 31:07Speaker 1: that he's always been fitting healthy, but he's never been
- 31:10Speaker 1: able to take his body to another level. And that frustration,
- 31:13Speaker 1: I think is worse than the obsession of taking it
- 31:16Speaker 1: to a level. So he's been searching and searching and
- 31:18Speaker 1: trying and starving. And what he's done in the past
- 31:21Speaker 1: is you starve yourself, you cut your calories, you cut
- 31:23Speaker 1: your carbs. His fate leans out. You look like a skeleton.
- 31:27Speaker 1: And then he still didn't have the abs. So when
- 31:29Speaker 1: he reached out to me, is awesome because I just said, listen,
- 31:32Speaker 1: you can achieve. You'll get your a pack. It's gonna
- 31:35Speaker 1: be a process, but we're gonna do it in a
- 31:36Speaker 1: way that it's gonna become a forever way of life.
- 31:39Speaker 1: And that's what we had to run As he's going
- 31:41Speaker 1: on a trip. The whole thing was how do we
- 31:43Speaker 1: help him get ready. How does he see those abs
- 31:46Speaker 1: as he's got a leaner as he's understand food, as
- 31:49Speaker 1: he the leaner he gets the more he eats with diets,
- 31:52Speaker 1: the leaner you get, the less you eat. So now
- 31:54Speaker 1: we have his top four coming in when he lays down,
- 31:57Speaker 1: he gets his top. He has all six and that
- 31:59Speaker 1: was lady to see his bottom two. So he's almost
- 32:02Speaker 1: got the eight pack. And now we're focusing on building
- 32:05Speaker 1: a little bore, more muscle in his abdominal region, so
- 32:08Speaker 1: it pops even more. But I think what Brandon seeing
- 32:11Speaker 1: is that he's loving his exercise. His energy is great.
- 32:14Speaker 1: He's a little obsessive because he has a goal, but
- 32:17Speaker 1: once he achieves that goal, we move it into a
- 32:19Speaker 1: lifestyle for him and Levi, so they make this a
- 32:22Speaker 1: permanent part of life, not something you do for a moment.
- 32:25Speaker 1: And Levi is my partner and he is doing this
- 32:27Speaker 1: regiment too. I do just feel like, out of everything
- 32:30Speaker 1: I've ever tried, and I've tried a lot of ship,
- 32:33Speaker 1: I just feel like this is something I can stick
- 32:35Speaker 1: with forever. What's nice is you know you can still
- 32:38Speaker 1: go out to eat and have things. It's about the
- 32:40Speaker 1: balance of that meal, so I don't feel like I'm
- 32:42Speaker 1: out anything. And again, I just feel like I had
- 32:44Speaker 1: such an unhealthy relationship with food that this forced me
- 32:48Speaker 1: to reflect on how much I was eating, why I
- 32:51Speaker 1: was eating it. Because you also realize that you go
- 32:53Speaker 1: through your day grazing on things like I'm not even hungry,
- 32:56Speaker 1: I'm just born shying my mental space. And so now
- 32:59Speaker 1: when it has be more thoughtful, you get a lot
- 33:01Speaker 1: more out of your meals, not just you know, nutrition wise,
- 33:05Speaker 1: but mentally right. Like look at I brought my lunch today, Mark.
- 33:08Speaker 1: I have my turkey and my avocado and my mustard
- 33:12Speaker 1: for my snack. I forgot a fruit, but whatever. The
- 33:15Speaker 1: one thing I did learn from you, well not the one.
- 33:16Speaker 1: I've learned many things from you. One thing that I
- 33:19Speaker 1: always take away is I never eat fruit by itself
- 33:22Speaker 1: anymore because I know then you're just hungry again an
- 33:24Speaker 1: hour later. So you have to combine that with a
- 33:25Speaker 1: fat or a protein at the very least. Always have
- 33:28Speaker 1: a fat, right, because it takes the fat to burn
- 33:30Speaker 1: the fat. So it's all about blood sugar, so that
- 33:33Speaker 1: eating healthy is different than eating balance. So fruit by
- 33:35Speaker 1: itself will break down, spike your blood sugar, make your
- 33:38Speaker 1: store fat, get you hungry an hour later. Protein and
- 33:41Speaker 1: carbs balance each other. Fat slows down digestion, and I
- 33:44Speaker 1: love it. I love what you're doing, Chelsea, because you can.
- 33:46Speaker 1: For the last twenty years you just consistently go back
- 33:49Speaker 1: to and I think that's when we talk about Brandon.
- 33:52Speaker 1: He was unhappy with his body. Now he might fall
- 33:54Speaker 1: off plan, but what he's doing he has a knowledge now,
- 33:58Speaker 1: so he knows what to do. So the pressure is off.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Just like you, you come back, you say, Okay, Brandon
- 34:03Speaker 1: is inspiring. I'm gonna get back on plan. It's not
- 34:06Speaker 1: something that's torturous. Is not something you have to suffer.
- 34:08Speaker 1: You can eat the food you love. You just eat
- 34:11Speaker 1: smarter and work out smarter, and then you control the
- 34:14Speaker 1: success you want with your body. Can we talk a
- 34:16Speaker 1: little bit about intermittent fasting, because obviously that's the trend
- 34:19Speaker 1: right now. People love to intermittent fast I hear that
- 34:22Speaker 1: all the time. I've done it, and you know, so
- 34:25Speaker 1: let's hear your thoughts on that. Yeah. I think there's
- 34:28Speaker 1: three main philosophies. Now you have keto, intermin fasting, and
- 34:31Speaker 1: blood sugar, which is what we teach about not using
- 34:33Speaker 1: food to lose weight, but food to create balance. There's
- 34:36Speaker 1: three questions I would always ask. Number one, is it
- 34:38Speaker 1: based on the science of your body? Number two, can
- 34:41Speaker 1: you do it for the rest of your life? And
- 34:43Speaker 1: number three, which but a kid or teenager on it?
- 34:45Speaker 1: Intermut and fasting is designed because when you turned thirty,
- 34:49Speaker 1: every decade thirty tot you lose five percent in your
- 34:53Speaker 1: muscle mass. So intermin fasting was designed as a way
- 34:56Speaker 1: where people wanted to still eat foods they love, but
- 34:59Speaker 1: doing not to not have the scale increase. That doesn't
- 35:02Speaker 1: mean you're progressing. You're still regressing. So you don't eat
- 35:06Speaker 1: till noon, you can't eat pass eight and you'll lose weight.
- 35:10Speaker 1: But is that something you want to do for the
- 35:11Speaker 1: rest of your life. Is that something that's gonna let
- 35:13Speaker 1: you live the way you should to reprogram your metabolism. No,
- 35:17Speaker 1: it won't. It will be something to maintain and slow
- 35:19Speaker 1: down your regression. Keto is the same way you cut
- 35:22Speaker 1: out your carbs, you eat protein and fat. Yeah, you
- 35:25Speaker 1: force your body to burn fat, but you burn some muscle.
- 35:28Speaker 1: No one wants to live keto without cars for the
- 35:30Speaker 1: rest of their life. So you have to ask yourself,
- 35:32Speaker 1: this is something you want forever? I F works, low
- 35:36Speaker 1: car works, low calorie works. The question is is this
- 35:39Speaker 1: something that you prepare to do forever. Most people do it,
- 35:43Speaker 1: they go back to their lifestyle and they regain everything.
- 35:45Speaker 1: If you implement just understanding how to eat the food
- 35:48Speaker 1: you love in the right balance. You'll release your stored fat,
- 35:51Speaker 1: build muscle, and it's something that you can do for
- 35:53Speaker 1: the rest of your life and actually reverse the aging
- 35:55Speaker 1: challenges and increase your metabolism. But aren't there a lot
- 35:58Speaker 1: of health benefits to fast though? Yeah? I mean my
- 36:02Speaker 1: take is if you eat clean food and you move,
- 36:05Speaker 1: that's your greatest health benefit. And we just have to
- 36:08Speaker 1: keep thinking of how we were fed when we were born.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Baby's feet every three hours, they have breast milk or formula,
- 36:14Speaker 1: which is the same in the sense of that it's
- 36:16Speaker 1: balanced of protein, fact carbs. Baby stop eating when there
- 36:19Speaker 1: says so I, they eat again when they're hungry the
- 36:21Speaker 1: first year of life. That's physiology. That's how we fuel
- 36:24Speaker 1: our body. We stop eating that way because a lifestyle,
- 36:28Speaker 1: not because of our body's needs, and your body is
- 36:30Speaker 1: the best adapter, so adjust. I think fasting in periods
- 36:34Speaker 1: can totally be healthy. But if you eat clean food,
- 36:38Speaker 1: less salt, no nitrates, and you eat clean and you
- 36:41Speaker 1: drink water and you move your body, you're cleansing your
- 36:45Speaker 1: body every single day. And then when you want to
- 36:47Speaker 1: bring low alcohol in or you want to have an
- 36:49Speaker 1: off plane, they'll go for it. Just get back on plan.
- 36:52Speaker 1: That's the keyest success. Yeah, And I like your philosophy
- 36:55Speaker 1: to is that when you do have a cheat meal
- 36:57Speaker 1: or you do go off plan, that the whole day
- 37:00Speaker 1: isn't gone. You don't. That doesn't mean you just get
- 37:01Speaker 1: to have McDonald's for the rest of the day. For
- 37:03Speaker 1: every meal that you go back to your plan, but
- 37:06Speaker 1: the next meal you go back to the plan. Like
- 37:08Speaker 1: if you're hungover, of course you're gonna want French fries
- 37:11Speaker 1: and something greasy, So once in a while that's okay,
- 37:13Speaker 1: but the next meal you have to get back on plan.
- 37:16Speaker 1: But this also goes back to once you're on the
- 37:19Speaker 1: plan for x amount of time, like I was on
- 37:20Speaker 1: it for almost eight weeks before I deviated at all.
- 37:25Speaker 1: When you're eating such excess or things that are not
- 37:27Speaker 1: good for you and have such high salt content or
- 37:30Speaker 1: just their over flavored, you become desensitized to it. You
- 37:34Speaker 1: think everything should taste that way, and so you don't
- 37:36Speaker 1: even really enjoy it. At a certain point, you also
- 37:38Speaker 1: realize how much we eat that is unnecessary, like the
- 37:41Speaker 1: excess right which we eat, you know in which portions
- 37:45Speaker 1: are served and when you realize, like, oh, if I
- 37:47Speaker 1: do Marx plan and I have you know, a scoop
- 37:49Speaker 1: of peanut butter as my fat or a tablespoon of dressing,
- 37:52Speaker 1: you're like, holy shit, what am I eating in a
- 37:54Speaker 1: restaurant when they're dressing your salad and putting tons of
- 37:57Speaker 1: fat in it? Last night for dinner when I was
- 38:00Speaker 1: weighing everything out. And this is also the thing is
- 38:02Speaker 1: I think it can be overwhelming for people when they
- 38:03Speaker 1: do start to search for a plan that's going to
- 38:05Speaker 1: work for them or a lifestyle that they can really
- 38:08Speaker 1: commit to. You can start to ballpark things. Once you
- 38:11Speaker 1: get through it for a few weeks, you just know like, oh,
- 38:13Speaker 1: all these white meats are interchangeable, so it doesn't feel
- 38:16Speaker 1: like you have to think as much about it. Yeah,
- 38:18Speaker 1: people don't want to weigh their food. That's definitely like
- 38:20Speaker 1: a barrier, so but you can gauge it. Like so
- 38:22Speaker 1: now I've gotten pretty good at knowing how many handfuls
- 38:25Speaker 1: or ballparking where that's going to be, and it's always
- 38:27Speaker 1: about right. But when I was looking at the meal
- 38:28Speaker 1: last night, I thought, oh my god, Like, you know,
- 38:30Speaker 1: three months ago, I would have thought that this was
- 38:32Speaker 1: a starvation diet. I was looking at it, but that's
- 38:34Speaker 1: it's not we just overeat consistently. I also think with Brandon,
- 38:38Speaker 1: he wants an elite body, so it's Chelsea. It's like
- 38:41Speaker 1: when you got ready for the coverage shape. There's there's
- 38:44Speaker 1: a certain level you commit to. But the reality is
- 38:47Speaker 1: this for women, a palmer protein, aphistic car but thumb
- 38:50Speaker 1: a fact. You don't have to weigh your food. It's
- 38:52Speaker 1: about just understanding PFC protein fact, carbohydrates a third or
- 38:56Speaker 1: third or third on your plate. Keep it simple, eat
- 38:59Speaker 1: every three hours and your body is starting to win.
- 39:02Speaker 1: And I think a lot of times with food, it's
- 39:03Speaker 1: the emotional attachment. I'm forty eight, almost forty nine, and
- 39:07Speaker 1: I was grew up focusing on you know, if you're
- 39:09Speaker 1: a bad day, you eat, a good day, you eat,
- 39:11Speaker 1: And a lot of times this is emotional attachment to food.
- 39:14Speaker 1: When you balance your blood sugar and you eat this way,
- 39:17Speaker 1: you take away the psychological craving, the physiological craving, meaning
- 39:21Speaker 1: that you don't crave the food. You still might want it,
- 39:24Speaker 1: but you don't have the physical need for it. So
- 39:26Speaker 1: it gives you back control. And I think that's what
- 39:28Speaker 1: we all want to understand how to live our best health,
- 39:31Speaker 1: feel our best, and not feel like we have to
- 39:33Speaker 1: suffer and be be attacked by food. We can decide
- 39:38Speaker 1: when we want to eat it and how we want
- 39:39Speaker 1: to eat it well. So that's a great lead into
- 39:42Speaker 1: one of our submissions that we had. It was for
- 39:43Speaker 1: a woman who classifies herself as a gluttonous that she
- 39:46Speaker 1: goes through these phases where she'll really focus on eating
- 39:49Speaker 1: right and staying healthy, and then she will binge basically
- 39:52Speaker 1: until she's sick. And she'll do this for prolonged amounts
- 39:54Speaker 1: of times, so not just one day. So for someone
- 39:56Speaker 1: who feels like they really cannot regain long term m
- 40:00Speaker 1: control of their eating habits, and something like this plan
- 40:03Speaker 1: sounds like a great idea, but they wouldn't even know
- 40:06Speaker 1: the entry point. What would you recommend to someone like this? Yeah,
- 40:10Speaker 1: so it comes back down, you know, one percent. I've
- 40:13Speaker 1: told the story when I was seven years old, I
- 40:15Speaker 1: couldn't speak and I couldn't form words, and I was
- 40:18Speaker 1: going to be held back going in a second grade
- 40:21Speaker 1: and my dad came home and my mom and it
- 40:23Speaker 1: was like I was devastating because no one could understand
- 40:25Speaker 1: what I would say, I thought I was speaking the
- 40:27Speaker 1: words with no one to understand it, and my dad
- 40:29Speaker 1: went to my room and put a big one percent
- 40:31Speaker 1: in my room and said, listen, you're gonna have tough days,
- 40:34Speaker 1: you're gonna want to quit, but you can learn how
- 40:35Speaker 1: to speak one percent at a time. And for four
- 40:37Speaker 1: years I worked on my speech, focused on it, and
- 40:40Speaker 1: then I got there, and now I speak all around
- 40:42Speaker 1: the world. I'm able to do this podcast with you
- 40:44Speaker 1: all these things, but it's the one percent that went
- 40:47Speaker 1: with me. I think your health is starting where you are,
- 40:50Speaker 1: and you have to think about the one percent. If
- 40:52Speaker 1: you can maybe walk five more minutes, if you can
- 40:54Speaker 1: sleep three more minutes, if you can get one shaking
- 40:57Speaker 1: and or one balanced meal, you're getting there. For that
- 41:00Speaker 1: exact analogy, a lot of times people overeat because they starve.
- 41:04Speaker 1: They start, they starve and physically they need to fuel
- 41:07Speaker 1: and then they go. But if we can just start
- 41:10Speaker 1: her at just balance meals, the physical need, the physical
- 41:13Speaker 1: crazies won't be there anymore. She'll feel better week after week,
- 41:17Speaker 1: and then those big binges they'll start to dissipate. They
- 41:20Speaker 1: won't be there as much. So I think the first
- 41:22Speaker 1: step is let's start balancing her looking just at protein
- 41:26Speaker 1: facts and carbohydrates. Start with your breakfast, start with your snacks,
- 41:29Speaker 1: start with your lunch, and by doing those mid morning
- 41:32Speaker 1: mid afternoon, you won't create that lunch and dinner that
- 41:35Speaker 1: amount and not starve yourself so that you get a result,
- 41:38Speaker 1: and then you want to then overeat. If she's interested
- 41:41Speaker 1: in your program, can you tell her where she should
- 41:42Speaker 1: go and what she should do. Yeah. So the first
- 41:45Speaker 1: you know, Chelsea Handler one of the greatest women in
- 41:48Speaker 1: the world, people in the world, best honor evers. She
- 41:51Speaker 1: wrote the forward for our book Body Confidence. So that's
- 41:54Speaker 1: a great book that really teaches your companies. Venish Nutrition
- 41:58Speaker 1: veneis nutrition dot com. But a great read to understand
- 42:01Speaker 1: about nutrition is starting with body confidence. Body confidence. And
- 42:04Speaker 1: then yeah, when it sounds like overwhelming to plan your
- 42:07Speaker 1: meals like this, it's actually a it's empowering because after
- 42:12Speaker 1: the second day of doing it, you're like, Okay, I've
- 42:14Speaker 1: got the system down now, I know you know, the
- 42:16Speaker 1: cravings disappear very quickly. So if you have somebody that
- 42:20Speaker 1: is listening, that is gluttonous, that is interested in this,
- 42:23Speaker 1: like I really would beg you, you can even just
- 42:25Speaker 1: join Vennice Nutrition or go on and take a look
- 42:27Speaker 1: at it, and you don't have to make any major commitment,
- 42:30Speaker 1: but I urge you to take four or five days
- 42:32Speaker 1: and really be serious about it and see how different
- 42:34Speaker 1: you feel at the end of four or five days,
- 42:36Speaker 1: because you feel like you're in control again. And that's
- 42:39Speaker 1: a good place to be when you're talking about food
- 42:42Speaker 1: and you're talking about people who you know overdo it well.
- 42:44Speaker 1: And I would just like to say to both of
- 42:46Speaker 1: you that there are certain aspects of your beginning of
- 42:51Speaker 1: this change in your relationship with food that seems like
- 42:54Speaker 1: you're never going to get there. And so I think,
- 42:56Speaker 1: you know, with my body specifically, Chelsea and I had
- 42:59Speaker 1: to have a conversation and the other day where she
- 43:01Speaker 1: was really honest. She's like, I think you're taking it
- 43:03Speaker 1: too far, Like it's honestly a little alarming, Like I'm
- 43:05Speaker 1: working out in a trash bag under a sweats Yeah,
- 43:08Speaker 1: this is like yeah, yeah, So Mark will encourage this
- 43:13Speaker 1: behavior though that's your fault. Mark. He came over first.
- 43:16Speaker 1: He changed into a plastic bag he put over his body,
- 43:20Speaker 1: which I've done. Also, just for the record, let the
- 43:23Speaker 1: record state I have had a sweatsuit. I used to
- 43:25Speaker 1: go with my sauna and just but that was when
- 43:27Speaker 1: I was you know, it was unreachable goals because I
- 43:30Speaker 1: was just overcompensating for bad behavior and bad eating and
- 43:33Speaker 1: bad drinking. So it was never going to even out.
- 43:35Speaker 1: But I definitely had one of those black sweatsuits that
- 43:38Speaker 1: makes you sweat extra. So he put the trash bag
- 43:40Speaker 1: on and then put what looked like a scuba suit
- 43:42Speaker 1: over it. Well it was a neoprene sweatsuit. Yeah, yeah,
- 43:45Speaker 1: a neoprene sweatsuit. And then he was on the treadmill
- 43:48Speaker 1: and It's texted me and said there was a puddle.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Were you at my house or at the gym. I
- 43:52Speaker 1: was at the gym at the gym and he said
- 43:53Speaker 1: there's a puddle at the bottom of the treadmill. And
- 43:55Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, of course, I asked, yeah. Right. Well,
- 44:00Speaker 1: so anyway, after that time, it is about working hard
- 44:05Speaker 1: and it's about feeling good. And I feel so good
- 44:07Speaker 1: right now that yes, I want to look a certain way,
- 44:09Speaker 1: but I also don't want to feel tired or weak
- 44:11Speaker 1: all the time, and so I feel like I'm getting stronger.
- 44:14Speaker 1: But in that moment, so Chelsea, we're we're marking back
- 44:17Speaker 1: and forth sending video messages, and she basically said, Hey,
- 44:20Speaker 1: what you're doing is great, and like, I understand it.
- 44:23Speaker 1: I've been there. But in those moments, you also need
- 44:26Speaker 1: to practice. As much as you're practicing self control, you
- 44:29Speaker 1: need to practice patients because it's not going to come overnight.
- 44:31Speaker 1: So all these extreme things that you're doing is not
- 44:34Speaker 1: necessarily going to change you tomorrow. Like it's a process.
- 44:37Speaker 1: And so with what you were just speaking about, mark
- 44:40Speaker 1: the one percent. That's why I don't weigh myself every
- 44:43Speaker 1: day because I was doing that in the beginning. It
- 44:45Speaker 1: will make you mad looking at it because it's fluctuating.
- 44:48Speaker 1: So now I will weigh on Friday, just as kind
- 44:51Speaker 1: of a checkpoint of where I'm at, knowing that if
- 44:54Speaker 1: I'm down anything anywhere, or even maintaining that I'm doing
- 44:57Speaker 1: the right work. Yeah, and and also a scale does
- 45:00Speaker 1: not define your success, so I think everyone listening, when
- 45:04Speaker 1: you start your health, you have to look at your
- 45:05Speaker 1: intern external how's your energy, how's your appetite, what's your
- 45:09Speaker 1: inch measurements, take some pictures of yourself because your weight
- 45:12Speaker 1: can vary for multiple reasons, stress, lack of sleep, your cycle.
- 45:16Speaker 1: I'm on my cycle right now. And remember when you
- 45:18Speaker 1: would text me that the weight would be up. I
- 45:21Speaker 1: can't believe you even tolerated in my behavior when I
- 45:23Speaker 1: was that crazy. I mean, I know, and he loved it.
- 45:27Speaker 1: He'd like, no problem, Chelsea, love you so much, It's okay.
- 45:29Speaker 1: I'd like, I found cellulate on my arm, now what?
- 45:32Speaker 1: But I love that? By the way, But just everyone
- 45:34Speaker 1: listening to make sure you know you don't have to
- 45:36Speaker 1: wear trash bags or scuba suits like Brandon. You don't.
- 45:40Speaker 1: That is extreme. I don't have something that's not necessarily
- 45:43Speaker 1: related to diet, but it's just about your attitude and
- 45:46Speaker 1: outlook on things. How do you maintain I'm in a
- 45:49Speaker 1: bad mood today, Mark, So how do you maintain such
- 45:51Speaker 1: authentic positivity? Because people you you can't see him, but
- 45:54Speaker 1: he's not stop smiling the entire time, and he genuinely
- 45:58Speaker 1: is like this like he me for about six hours
- 46:01Speaker 1: where he's like, love you, and I know that, and
- 46:03Speaker 1: I know that he and I know that he meant it,
- 46:04Speaker 1: which is as strange as that seems like, there is
- 46:07Speaker 1: just something about him that is authentic to his core.
- 46:10Speaker 1: He is a positive person and for other people because
- 46:12Speaker 1: we also have a lot of people writing and saying like,
- 46:14Speaker 1: I can't get myself out of this mood, I can't
- 46:16Speaker 1: pull myself out of my funk. And I don't know
- 46:19Speaker 1: that they're mutually exclusive, but there does seem to be
- 46:21Speaker 1: some sort of connection in the lifestyle you're living and
- 46:24Speaker 1: your positivity. I mean, for me, it started with my mom.
- 46:28Speaker 1: My mom is just since I was a bait. I mean,
- 46:30Speaker 1: she just loves life and she would always tell me
- 46:34Speaker 1: that and just always instill that in me, and then
- 46:36Speaker 1: it just was part of me. And I just believe
- 46:39Speaker 1: in people. I love people. I've had an amazing life
- 46:42Speaker 1: and at the end of the day, I believe in people.
- 46:44Speaker 1: I believe in the greatness of what we can be.
- 46:47Speaker 1: And I think as I was always you know, when
- 46:49Speaker 1: I was seven, I said I couldn't speak. I had asthma,
- 46:51Speaker 1: so I couldn't play sports. I've always just I've always
- 46:53Speaker 1: felt like an underdog. So I've always wanted to empower
- 46:56Speaker 1: people that regardless of where you are in life, regardless
- 46:59Speaker 1: of your circle stance, you can always reach for your greatness.
- 47:02Speaker 1: It's never too late. You just gotta start one percent
- 47:05Speaker 1: at a time. And if you cast that vision. You
- 47:07Speaker 1: can achieve it, and so many people are struggling with
- 47:10Speaker 1: their health, with all of the challenge that have with COVID,
- 47:13Speaker 1: with where we are the society. It's just you gotta start.
- 47:16Speaker 1: You gotta make a decision. You don't have to starve yourself.
- 47:18Speaker 1: You don't have to cut stuff. You can love your food,
- 47:21Speaker 1: you can love your body, whatever type of body you have.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Find that space you want to be and cast that
- 47:26Speaker 1: vision and go for it. I don't know that there's
- 47:28Speaker 1: a better place to wrap up than that. Um No.
- 47:31Speaker 1: I just would like to close this with a story
- 47:33Speaker 1: about Mark flew out to my house in l A
- 47:35Speaker 1: a couple of years ago because I was like, I've
- 47:37Speaker 1: gotten off the rails. You've got to come out here
- 47:39Speaker 1: and help me. And he came out for like a week,
- 47:41Speaker 1: and I was scared because you know, of his energy level.
- 47:45Speaker 1: I'm like, funk, what's he gonna make me? Do? You
- 47:47Speaker 1: know he's gonna train me and get me back on
- 47:49Speaker 1: my program sprint probably, yeah, he loves sand sprints. And
- 47:52Speaker 1: then by the way they fucking work, you know, do
- 47:55Speaker 1: a sand spread. You probably wanted to work out again
- 47:56Speaker 1: for the rest of the week, But I warned everybody
- 47:59Speaker 1: at the house, who was working at the house and
- 48:01Speaker 1: who had it met him before, Like, you will get
- 48:03Speaker 1: assaulted by this hug, Like there's no way around it.
- 48:06Speaker 1: He's coming in hot and he will not take no
- 48:08Speaker 1: for an answer, and uh everyone, And I remember Tanner's
- 48:13Speaker 1: Tanner goes, I can't believe that you're okay with that,
- 48:18Speaker 1: and I was like, I actually don't know that you're right.
- 48:20Speaker 1: I can't believe it either. I've never thought about how
- 48:22Speaker 1: I've been tolerating marks enthusiasm. But it's infectious, and you
- 48:26Speaker 1: know he's really he means it. I mean it's a
- 48:28Speaker 1: lot and it works well. We I need you too,
- 48:36Speaker 1: and your heart and just this is a Chelsea story.
- 48:39Speaker 1: I've known a lot of people in this world. Her
- 48:41Speaker 1: heart for the people she loves and the people in
- 48:45Speaker 1: for everybody is one of the most special things. And
- 48:48Speaker 1: I just want the world to know how special you are, Chelsea,
- 48:51Speaker 1: how you give, how you want to make a difference,
- 48:53Speaker 1: and you inspire me, and that goes right to Brandon.
- 48:56Speaker 1: So it's an honor to call you a friend. You're
- 48:58Speaker 1: both our family to me and as you know, I'm
- 49:00Speaker 1: always here for you or fly to l a anytime.
- 49:02Speaker 1: You come to the the Lanta anytime, and I'll clip you
- 49:05Speaker 1: body fatu. Together we change the health of the world.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Sounds good. Say hi to Abbey and the kids. Give
- 49:11Speaker 1: him a big massive hug, a big massive us. Mark,
- 49:14Speaker 1: you take care of that. By Brandon, it's like your
- 49:20Speaker 1: new boyfriend. Listen, how lucky's appy? I know how lucky
- 49:26Speaker 1: she is? Or is he just driving her fucking crazy?
- 49:29Speaker 1: You know, like, because if you were living with somebody
- 49:31Speaker 1: that was in that good of a mood all the time. No,
- 49:35Speaker 1: I'm hope it's contagious. I would hope that it really
- 49:37Speaker 1: would force you to feel happiness. Yeah, yeah, I guess
- 49:43Speaker 1: it would. His son Hunter, he has a son and
- 49:45Speaker 1: a daughter, and his son hunters older and just like
- 49:49Speaker 1: he's just like Mark. He they came to one of
- 49:51Speaker 1: your shows. I don't remember which, but I remember probably
- 49:54Speaker 1: Atlanta because he lives in Atlanta. Now I remember, Oh no,
- 49:58Speaker 1: it was Nashville. I think, oh really, yeah, I think
- 50:00Speaker 1: it's Nashural because they showed up by Atlanta. It's not
- 50:03Speaker 1: far and his son, who had never met me, immediately
- 50:06Speaker 1: walked up and hugged me, knew me by name, like
- 50:08Speaker 1: that is just I know his son is really incredible. Actually,
- 50:11Speaker 1: you're just like, oh my god, there's a mini mark
- 50:13Speaker 1: coming at me. Okay, it sounds like we're going to
- 50:15Speaker 1: take a break for a commercial and we'll be right back.
- 50:20Speaker 1: Are you what's happening with your mood, Brandon? How are
- 50:22Speaker 1: you feeling now? Brandon had a really rough It's been
- 50:25Speaker 1: a bad few days and I don't like that headspace.
- 50:28Speaker 1: And I had to tell sweetheart on the way here
- 50:30Speaker 1: that I'm really annoyed today and I don't want to
- 50:32Speaker 1: be annoyed, and I keep trying to pull myself out
- 50:34Speaker 1: of it, and that makes me more fucking annoyed. I know.
- 50:36Speaker 1: But you can't shame yourself for being in a bad mood.
- 50:38Speaker 1: It's annoying to break your phone, it's annoying to have
- 50:40Speaker 1: a burglary. All those things are stressful, So don't beat
- 50:44Speaker 1: yourself up for being in a bad mood. Just let
- 50:46Speaker 1: it rip. Just being a bad mood. Well, you know what,
- 50:48Speaker 1: I have accepted this point. I'm acknowledging it, accepting it.
- 50:50Speaker 1: I'm just gonna try and move on because that's all
- 50:53Speaker 1: we can do. Like, I don't want to sit in
- 50:54Speaker 1: it for too long. I did for a bit today,
- 50:57Speaker 1: and it's just been a whirlwind. I it has been
- 51:00Speaker 1: a Whirldwarde's it has. Yeah, you're going to get out
- 51:03Speaker 1: of that neighborhood. You're gonna put your house on the market,
- 51:05Speaker 1: which you're gonna do anyway, and you're gonna move somewhere else.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Because Sweetheart even generously offered to buy a house big
- 51:12Speaker 1: enough for myself, my partner, and four cats to live in.
- 51:16Speaker 1: She didn't know about the four. I forgot about the cats.
- 51:18Speaker 1: That yeah, I forgot about the whole cat situation. I
- 51:20Speaker 1: don't know how Bernie and Burt would react to the cats.
- 51:23Speaker 1: I'd love to see what we could. Just put Burt
- 51:25Speaker 1: and Bernie's down at some point, because those two aren't
- 51:27Speaker 1: really bringing anything longspect, I don't say such things. They
- 51:31Speaker 1: get up in the morning when they know my bell's coming,
- 51:33Speaker 1: they fucking run around. It's like they're two different dogs.
- 51:35Speaker 1: They're really energized. As soon as she leaves, they're on
- 51:38Speaker 1: the floor. Burt is depressed for the rest of the day.
- 51:40Speaker 1: It's it, it's like lights out. I'm excuse me, this
- 51:43Speaker 1: is our only time for you to pay attention to
- 51:45Speaker 1: me because she's gone, and so she leaves and then
- 51:49Speaker 1: he goes to bed. It's like lights out days over.
- 51:52Speaker 1: They're probably just on a very bizarre sleep schedule. They
- 51:54Speaker 1: don't know, they don't know what time of data is there,
- 51:56Speaker 1: what they should be doing. They're just like, Oh, it
- 51:57Speaker 1: looks like it's bedtime for her, we'll just pass out.
- 52:00Speaker 1: I had a long day yesterday and I came home
- 52:03Speaker 1: and got right into my poor Lafem pajamas from my company,
- 52:07Speaker 1: from my friend Robin Wright. Best pajamas. I never used
- 52:09Speaker 1: to wear pajamas until I got these. They're amazing. And yeah,
- 52:13Speaker 1: I got into bed. I had friends in town, and
- 52:15Speaker 1: I had social events every night for the last five days.
- 52:18Speaker 1: So yeah, last night, I've not seen you in such
- 52:20Speaker 1: a condition in a while. You heart walked into my
- 52:23Speaker 1: room and I said, I can't. I just can't do anything.
- 52:26Speaker 1: I said, can you just cancel my day? And he
- 52:28Speaker 1: said no, Alison will kill me, my manager, And I said, okay,
- 52:32Speaker 1: just asking. I was asking for a friend if it
- 52:34Speaker 1: was cancelable. And what did I do? You said no?
- 52:38Speaker 1: And what else? You said? You need to eat something.
- 52:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna go get you McDonald's and you did. You
- 52:42Speaker 1: got me sausage, emancmuffin, which is my hangover food, and
- 52:45Speaker 1: a hash brown, and I actually ate two sausage eckmancmuffins.
- 52:48Speaker 1: I'm not proud to admit that, especially since we just
- 52:50Speaker 1: got off the phone with the Mark, but I did
- 52:53Speaker 1: feel better. I was slightly nauseous, and I just powered through.
- 52:57Speaker 1: You know, I am good like that. I will fulfill
- 53:00Speaker 1: my responsibilities. Nothing keeps you down. You were able to
- 53:04Speaker 1: work out at eight am. Have you guys heard about
- 53:07Speaker 1: this lightning fit workout where they strap everything up to
- 53:10Speaker 1: your body and you're connected to these electrodes. It's like
- 53:13Speaker 1: an electrode suit and it stimulates your muscle, so it
- 53:17Speaker 1: contracts your muscles at an alarming rate. So the workout
- 53:20Speaker 1: itself is ten to fifteen minutes long, which is exactly
- 53:24Speaker 1: the duration I'm interested in working out. And I'm super sore,
- 53:28Speaker 1: like my buttchees fire. Yeah, my lower ab well that
- 53:32Speaker 1: could be for a couple of reasons, but my lower
- 53:34Speaker 1: abs are super, super sore. So that is a great
- 53:37Speaker 1: workout to complement my workouts with Ben Bruno. To supplement
- 53:40Speaker 1: your workouts with Ben Bruno. He was like five days
- 53:43Speaker 1: a week for a while, and I didn't know if
- 53:44Speaker 1: you were going to make it through, the homicide rate
- 53:46Speaker 1: at your house was going to go up. Yeah, yeah, Yeah,
- 53:48Speaker 1: it's better that I see Ben like four times max
- 53:51Speaker 1: per week, no more than that, and then that's when
- 53:53Speaker 1: things start to get a little bit dice. Do you
- 53:55Speaker 1: feel like your body responds best when you are incorporating
- 53:57Speaker 1: other workouts because you do plot ease. Now, maybe we're
- 54:00Speaker 1: going to introduce this lightning fit. Do you like doing
- 54:02Speaker 1: those different Yeah, I'd like to change it up. My
- 54:04Speaker 1: body has been responsive to like all the stuff I'm
- 54:07Speaker 1: doing because of those peptides I'm on, you know, I'm
- 54:10Speaker 1: on these peptides that like kind of help your body
- 54:12Speaker 1: a shed fat and they keep you thin, you know,
- 54:16Speaker 1: they kind of keep you thin and fit. So as
- 54:18Speaker 1: soon as I manipulate my body in any way with
- 54:20Speaker 1: diet or exercise, I get results right away, which didn't
- 54:23Speaker 1: used to be the case. So a lot of people
- 54:25Speaker 1: talk about being in their forties and hating what's happening
- 54:28Speaker 1: to their body. But I have to tell you, like
- 54:30Speaker 1: I'm having the opposite experience because well, because of these peptides. Well,
- 54:34Speaker 1: because you found doctor dominic freed and read and you
- 54:37Speaker 1: inject yourself twice a day, right, yes, in the morning
- 54:40Speaker 1: and at night. Her office is pretty full. I've referred
- 54:44Speaker 1: like three or four more people and they're like, we
- 54:46Speaker 1: don't they can't get in. I would love, I want
- 54:48Speaker 1: anything to preserve myself. I know, it's basically like you're
- 54:51Speaker 1: being embalmed. I know, I know, sweetheart. So for people
- 54:55Speaker 1: out there who you know, can't afford a personal trainer,
- 54:58Speaker 1: or can't afford to go to an anti aging doctor
- 55:01Speaker 1: or any of that stuff, which is pretty much most people,
- 55:05Speaker 1: Mark's program is a great way for you to start
- 55:07Speaker 1: to see differences in your body and to get really
- 55:09Speaker 1: healthy about the food you're putting in and to eat clean.
- 55:13Speaker 1: I remember when he was telling me about like dried almonds.
- 55:15Speaker 1: I was like, dried ah Man's gross. Like there are
- 55:17Speaker 1: so many things that I had no appreciation for because
- 55:21Speaker 1: I had never tried them before. Really like, I'm not
- 55:24Speaker 1: going to eat a handful of almonds as a snack.
- 55:26Speaker 1: But once you do try those things, you realize what
- 55:30Speaker 1: you're putting into your body is clean food, and the
- 55:33Speaker 1: clean food is so much healthier than anything you'll ever
- 55:37Speaker 1: get from a restaurant or well where else would you
- 55:41Speaker 1: get food. I guess, well, but to your point, they
- 55:43Speaker 1: all work together. So the diet, the food, your skin,
- 55:47Speaker 1: all those things. So if you're putting the right things
- 55:49Speaker 1: into your body, maybe you're not going to need to
- 55:50Speaker 1: see an anti aging doctor because you're kind of doing
- 55:53Speaker 1: the right thing already. Like all those things help, right,
- 55:56Speaker 1: And so go to vendus nutrition dot com if you're interested,
- 55:58Speaker 1: and just look at the meal plan, ounces and stuff,
- 56:00Speaker 1: and you'll get a good idea of what what it is.
- 56:03Speaker 1: And it's not a diet. It is a lifestyle. You
- 56:06Speaker 1: keep saying that, and it's true. It is a lifestyle.
- 56:08Speaker 1: It's just changing the way you look at food. And
- 56:10Speaker 1: it's totally sustainable, you know. I mean, I'm doing it.
- 56:13Speaker 1: I don't cook. I mean I have like five different meals,
- 56:15Speaker 1: but like I just packed four ounces of turkey. I
- 56:18Speaker 1: waited out on the scale and put in like an
- 56:20Speaker 1: ounce of avocado and mustard, and I have my lunch
- 56:23Speaker 1: and I should have had some blueberries or an apple,
- 56:25Speaker 1: but I forgot that part can So yeah, I'm sure
- 56:29Speaker 1: there's an apple tree somewhere I can just grab one
- 56:31Speaker 1: off of. But it is sustainable, so it is a
- 56:33Speaker 1: program that works long term. So Brandon needs to move
- 56:36Speaker 1: out of his neighborhood. Right, you need to find a place.
- 56:38Speaker 1: You need a place for you, your partner, and I
- 56:43Speaker 1: forgot about those forecasts. I'm probably just gonna go see
- 56:46Speaker 1: if the animal shelter has a room for us, because
- 56:48Speaker 1: it's the only place that's going to take forecasts. Are
- 56:50Speaker 1: you do you have these forecats permanently or are you? Yes?
- 56:54Speaker 1: I know, I know everyone listening is judging me. I
- 56:57Speaker 1: judge myself on a daily basis. I also foster for
- 57:00Speaker 1: a local shelter, so sometimes I can have up to
- 57:02Speaker 1: like ten cats in my house. It's not great. I mean,
- 57:06Speaker 1: don't you feel like Bindy the crocodile Hunter's daughter when
- 57:08Speaker 1: that happens? Kind of? I mean they're little, so they
- 57:10Speaker 1: stay in like the little kennel and you bottle feed
- 57:12Speaker 1: them and then once they get to eight weeks you
- 57:14Speaker 1: find them homes. But it's a real situation. Yeah. Well,
- 57:18Speaker 1: I mean, I guess good for you is all I
- 57:20Speaker 1: can say to that, you know. I mean, I wish
- 57:22Speaker 1: I could give you some more a cat encouragement, but
- 57:23Speaker 1: I just don't have it in me, Like I do
- 57:25Speaker 1: not have affection for cats. I don't want anything bad
- 57:29Speaker 1: to happen to them, But I'm also not looking to
- 57:31Speaker 1: get one. I'll make note of that. Yeah, I don't
- 57:34Speaker 1: like animals that go to the bathroom inside, even though
- 57:37Speaker 1: my dogs too. I don't like animals that have like
- 57:40Speaker 1: a potty that's exposed to the air that I'm breathing it,
- 57:44Speaker 1: like a litter box in someone's house with ship on it.
- 57:48Speaker 1: To me, that's that's a deal breaker. Well, you know
- 57:50Speaker 1: what I'll tell you that is worse than that. It
- 57:53Speaker 1: is seeing a fucking cat. And this is true. I've
- 57:55Speaker 1: seen my friend's cat use the toilet to go to
- 57:59Speaker 1: the bathroom. Great, what's wrong with that? No, you think
- 58:01Speaker 1: that that's what I thought, and then you see it
- 58:03Speaker 1: happening and it's suddenly very unsettling. Well, I would like
- 58:07Speaker 1: to see that actually and then decide if I'm against
- 58:09Speaker 1: it or if I'm for it, because that sounds like
- 58:11Speaker 1: to me like the only fucking reasonable move cats can
- 58:14Speaker 1: make at this juncture in society. They have abused their
- 58:17Speaker 1: privileges for too long by shipping in a box and
- 58:20Speaker 1: then hiding the ship from us with their fucking legs,
- 58:23Speaker 1: kicking it away and burying it, and then so not
- 58:26Speaker 1: only are we cleaning up their ship, we're digging and
- 58:29Speaker 1: looking for it like an archaeologist. And I'm not interested
- 58:32Speaker 1: in that. So if they're if you're telling me that
- 58:34Speaker 1: cats are now evolutionarily going to use the toilet, I
- 58:38Speaker 1: say amen, I'll get your cat. Then okay, Well this
- 58:43Speaker 1: has been a very enlightening episode. I mean, I feel
- 58:45Speaker 1: there is a lot of body issues going around in
- 58:48Speaker 1: this world that we live in, and you want to
- 58:51Speaker 1: just like hit somebody with a magic wand and let
- 58:53Speaker 1: them have what they want in life, you know, so
- 58:55Speaker 1: that they don't even have to stress about it. But
- 58:57Speaker 1: the thing about that is, even if you got what
- 58:59Speaker 1: you wanted you to so decide to change the goal posts,
- 59:02Speaker 1: and you would be unhappy about something else. So embracing
- 59:05Speaker 1: all of yourself is a very important active I guess practice, Well,

- 59:11Speaker 1: get to a certain point where there is a level
- 59:13Speaker 1: of acceptance and like self encouragement for improvement that's not
- 59:17Speaker 1: necessarily based on any one goal, is just always being better.
- 59:22Speaker 1: I think that's a healthy way to look at it. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
