- 0:14You are listening to Look Who's Talking. I am
- 0:20Cameron Minter. I am your co -host and the host
- 0:23of the show is our wonderful Head Start Director
- 0:26Jessica Coffie Dickerson. That was the first
- 0:31time you used that name. I know. JCD is in the
- 0:35house. Did that feel weird? No. Does it feel
- 0:40weird for you? Yes, absolutely. Have you had
- 0:42that Mrs. Dickerson moment yet? I have continued
- 0:47to introduce myself as Jessica Coffey. And then
- 0:50someone would be like Dickerson and I'm like,
- 0:52oh, yes. Right. That's me too. Only because I've
- 0:54been Jessica Coffie for 40 years. Right. Yeah.
- 0:57Yeah. It's going to take a minute. But the whole,
- 1:00oh, I would like to introduce you to my husband.
- 1:03Uh -huh. Yeah. That part. How's that? Yeah. You're
- 1:06loving it. It sounds so cute. Good, good, good.
- 1:08How long has it been now? Two months. Two months
- 1:13of bliss. Just marital bliss. It's been. Listen.
- 1:22We're going to have to have a whole segment.
- 1:24Let me tell you about my KU bill, though. Oh,
- 1:27wow. I said, brother, you're going to have to
- 1:29cut these lights off in this house. Oh, you your
- 1:32dad, huh? Shoot. Yeah. My KU bill done doubled.
- 1:38Yeah? Cut these lights off. It's double the people?
- 1:40He says, I like. I like the house like I'm a
- 1:43bat. He was like, you don't like lights. Well,
- 1:46you know, it's so funny you say that because
- 1:47my wife says it all the time. Every morning I
- 1:51wake up, I go into the living room by myself
- 1:54in the dark and get dressed. And I like it. I
- 1:59ain't got nothing wrong with it. I don't see
- 2:01nothing wrong with it. But as soon, oh, my God.
- 2:05As soon as she wake up, all lights and everything
- 2:08on. And see. Yeah, I get dressed in the living
- 2:12room, so I don't want the lights on in the living
- 2:15room so that my neighbors can see me. You know
- 2:17what I'm saying? That's one part of it, but I
- 2:20really don't like a lot of it. You know, I'm
- 2:23all about conserving energy. Let's open these
- 2:27blinds. Let the natural light come in. No, he's
- 2:31a flipper. Flip the switch. That's what he is.
- 2:36I love it. He flips that switch. I love it. And
- 2:39I come in, I'm like, you're not in this room.
- 2:41Uh -oh, you sound like somebody's daddy. You're
- 2:45not in this room. I just light on. But you know
- 2:49what? I let him live. You let him live. I let
- 2:52him live. That's what's up. All right, so it's
- 2:56summertime. What you got planned? Summer, summer,
- 2:59summertime. That's it. Have you listened to that
- 3:01song? No, I haven't. And I was going to play
- 3:03it. You got to always listen to that. I was going
- 3:04to play it for you today, but we got a little
- 3:06caught up with some difficulties. Summertime.
- 3:10Nothing much. Like, we have come off of a perfect
- 3:14review. Mm -hmm. You even do the sound. Oh, man.
- 3:18You missed the moment. Go! Oh, no. Now, didn't
- 3:22before we started, I said, are you familiar?
- 3:26I meant to put horns on here, and I still haven't
- 3:29done horns. Well, you know, trying to move on
- 3:36from a waiting period, you know, we've been waiting
- 3:40for our results. And that, like, mental, you
- 3:44know what, this a preach right here. Because
- 3:48you cannot stay stagnant. You cannot stay in
- 3:50that place. And I found myself staying in that
- 3:54place until we got our results. So we literally
- 3:56got our results from our review this week. And
- 4:00I literally had the best sleep of my life. I'm
- 4:04like, oh, let's do this. Let's do that. You know,
- 4:08there's a lot of pressure with that. You know,
- 4:10a lot of people don't understand the pressure
- 4:12of the. The largest program we have here is Community
- 4:17Action Council. Yeah. And so many lives of wealth
- 4:22and health are in your hands. And the decisions
- 4:25that you have to make are heavy. Very. Are heavy.
- 4:30So I'm glad you had some rest. Oh, I did. And
- 4:34you know what? I'm trying to plan my summer now.
- 4:39I'm like, let's go travel. Let's explore the
- 4:45city like I haven't lived here. So, yeah. But,
- 4:51you know, we're all in knee deep, waist deep,
- 4:54neck deep in planning for the next program year,
- 4:59which starts in. For us, it starts the end of
- 5:03July. But we still have children right now. But
- 5:06we're making a lot of moves. We're transitioning
- 5:09a lot of centers to new locations. So this is
- 5:14usually a very, very busy time for me. But this
- 5:18busy is nowhere compared busy to what you just
- 5:22went through. No. This is a peaceful busy. Yeah.
- 5:27Well, not quite. it's more peaceful than that
- 5:32but it's still it's a stressful busy but it's
- 5:36just different you know right right yeah because
- 5:39having what 45 million dollars in almost 400
- 5:44people's jobs it's a little bit different that's
- 5:49a little different I can't believe they put all
- 5:52that trust in you. Go! Listen. Yeah. My mama
- 5:56and daddy still can't believe I have a job. They
- 5:58like, okay, what you do again? Exactly. Exactly.
- 6:04Well, that's great. That's great. It's that summertime,
- 6:07and every summer since we started doing this
- 6:10show, I remember the words in your head because
- 6:14I think you asked me what's my favorite season.
- 6:16I said summertime, and you said, but what do
- 6:19you do in the summertime? time. Probably sitting
- 6:22in the house in the air conditioning. And that
- 6:23had stuck to me. I said all of that. So what
- 6:27are you doing this summer? I'm going to get out.
- 6:29Are you outside this summer? Are you outside?
- 6:33I'm a quote unquote gardener now. I know you
- 6:37lying. Planted some potatoes. What? A tomato
- 6:42plant. And some onions. Really? Okay. I would
- 6:47like some tomatoes and some, well, I would like
- 6:49all of it if your harvest is plenty. Right. Come
- 6:54on. Come on. It is coming up. There's evidence
- 6:59of life. So let me tell you this. With gardening,
- 7:04with your newfound hobby. Is there anything that
- 7:09you have learned in the garden that applies to
- 7:12your life? Well, I'll give you this one for free.
- 7:18Ain't no juice like Jesus juice. When it rains,
- 7:23that water affects the plants in such a way that
- 7:29the regular water hose does not. There is immediate
- 7:33response to the rain. Come on. Look, I'm not
- 7:40going to give you the Coffie Break. But hold
- 7:43on. When do I get my tomatoes, though? Are they
- 7:45ready? No. We just planted maybe three weeks
- 7:48ago. So, yeah. I think you should take a picture
- 7:52of your garden. I've got plenty, and I'll share
- 7:54them with you. Oh, yeah. Yes, I've got plenty.
- 7:56I took some this morning. Because, you know,
- 7:58I'm a proud daddy about my garden. How often
- 8:01are you in the garden? It's a bag. A bag of soil?
- 8:08Yeah. I had some potatoes that had started to
- 8:11sprout. I dried them out and I put them in the
- 8:15bag. Okay. I don't know. That's it. So it grows
- 8:22in the bag. So when they harvest, I won't have
- 8:25to dig them up like... Normal Farmer Joe's. All
- 8:28I have to do is rip open this bag and I'm going
- 8:30to have potato, potatoes, potatoes. Did that
- 8:33not make you feel like a new father? Oh, God,
- 8:35yeah. I've been wanting to do it. I've been talking
- 8:37to you about gardening and getting prepared to
- 8:41be more self -sufficient with all the challenges
- 8:44that are going on in the world. So I've been
- 8:46wanting to do it for a minute. See, I want to
- 8:51start gardening. However, I don't want there
- 8:56to be any bugs around. And I can't figure that
- 9:00out. What? Yeah. Okay. It's their house. You're
- 9:06building something in their house. So have respect.
- 9:10Have respect. I think it's time for a Coffie
- 9:15Break. All right. So for today's Coffie Break,
- 9:27I want to say a little quote. And that quote
- 9:30is a negative mind will never give you a positive
- 9:33life. Yeah. So, you know, I do I try to do daily
- 9:38affirmations because guess who's their own worst
- 9:42enemy? Oh, critic. That would be us. And sometimes
- 9:45saying negative things to myself and not that
- 9:48I'm trying to be negative, but you always. sometimes
- 9:51just think about the negative so i'm trying to
- 9:54feed positive not only for me but uh what you
- 9:58do that that what i'm pouring in i hope that
- 10:02it overflows positivity to where people stepping
- 10:05in the puddle come on get that positive come
- 10:08on get in the flow get in the flow okay yeah
- 10:10that is that is great i mean because our mindset
- 10:13really sets our day yes right so however you
- 10:18begin that's how you can expect it yes our our
- 10:22super or my supervisor sharon um our executive
- 10:25director anytime i come in and i'm just mad about
- 10:29something that didn't go right with the program
- 10:31she said we're gonna be mad we're not gonna be
- 10:33mad today and i either say okay i'll move on
- 10:37or i'll be like i'm going to somebody else's
- 10:40office but trying to keep that positive mindset
- 10:45because It goes a long way. It does go a long
- 10:48way, but it affects other people too. Say that.
- 10:52Say that. Have you been in a good mood and ran
- 10:55into somebody who just tears you up? I mean,
- 11:00from jump. Just their whole negative attitude
- 11:03kind of rub off on you. And I will listen to
- 11:06that person and I won't say nothing, but my face
- 11:08will say it all. don't do that and i have to
- 11:13say it like i have to say it a little with a
- 11:15little ghetto twang like yeah don't do that like
- 11:18why are you coming in here negative don't do
- 11:21that yeah we we got we gotta be well and that
- 11:25reminds me of what we do in our classroom um
- 11:28we monitor positive environment right so how
- 11:33the children the kids could come in crying not
- 11:36wanting to leave their moms but as a as teachers
- 11:40We're not expecting them to get mad and walk
- 11:42off from the kids. Right. How can you make the
- 11:44environment positive with someone coming in that
- 11:49isn't feeling too positive in themselves? Yeah.
- 11:53That applies to daily life. Yeah, let's just
- 11:55whip them. What? Huh? All right, all right, all
- 12:01right. Who do we have on the show today? I mean,
- 12:05you're going to give me the pleasure of introducing.
- 12:06I'm going to give you the pleasure because I'm
- 12:08going to try to be. Because this hits personal,
- 12:12okay? It's personal. Because it is personal.
- 12:15Our special guest today is Ms. Mrs. Let me put
- 12:22that. You know, I emphasize it. Put it on there.
- 12:26Mrs. Gwen Menter, who just so happens to be the
- 12:31lovely wife of our co -host, Cameron. How about
- 12:34that? Yes. How about that? How are you, Ms. Gwen?
- 12:38I'm good. How are you? Good. I'm excited because
- 12:41I know you have a new book, and it's called Trunk
- 12:45Tales. So please tell viewers about this book.
- 12:50Trunk Tales, it began as a really Jessica God
- 12:53thing. I didn't want to do it. It happened in
- 12:562022. I heard it. You know, I promise you. And
- 13:00I wrote it down. Yeah. But it seems so far fetched.
- 13:03It was okay. Write a book. It's got to be a four
- 13:05book series. All right. Oh, wow. Yeah. And then
- 13:08if I do it right, the way God wants it, he's
- 13:11going to put it on bestseller list. And then
- 13:12we're going to Hollywood. It's going to be a
- 13:14film. Oh, yes. I take God at his word. He ain't
- 13:17lied to me yet. I know. That's right. So tell
- 13:20us. So this is, is this series one of four? Yes.
- 13:23It's the first book that dropped. Okay. So are
- 13:25you introducing characters? What's happening
- 13:27in the book? The book, yes, you're so right.
- 13:30I'm introducing eight characters. The first book
- 13:33is what I call the hook to get. families, kids
- 13:37hooked into this, okay? And then afterwards,
- 13:40I will develop Gwinola, who's the main character.
- 13:44She's a white elephant, pure white with blue
- 13:47eyes in the midst of an African bush in a normal
- 13:51elephant herd. So she's an oddity for the whole
- 13:55bush, you know? And so the things that will happen
- 13:59with her, it's like, okay, why do I look like
- 14:03this? How come I don't look like everybody else?
- 14:05she gets bullied she gets all these different
- 14:09things happen to her and it's it's it becomes
- 14:13this this journey of where do I belong and yet
- 14:18she's a target because they're poachers oh wow
- 14:22and when she walks through the bush she's like
- 14:26a headlight going right because she's so white
- 14:31the characters are so You have to have comic
- 14:36relief somewhere in there. And so I was like,
- 14:39Lord, I want boys. How do I get boys interested
- 14:42in a white elephant with blue eyes? Everywhere
- 14:46that I researched, Jessica, you're not going
- 14:48to believe this. What is it? They said if you
- 14:51want boys to read a book, one of your characters
- 14:55has to do one thing and one thing only, and you've
- 14:58captured them. And what is that? Pass gas. That's
- 15:03the honest to God truth. Yes. Yes. And one of
- 15:08the characters that I have is an African baboon
- 15:11by the name of Jabu. Jabu is pure comic relief.
- 15:16Jabu, honey, when he gets stressed, he can't
- 15:20control his gas. Oh. And so that he becomes the
- 15:25most. colorful character. Yes. I think that I
- 15:29have, you know, that girls and boys would definitely
- 15:32relate to. Got you. So cool. Well, we're going
- 15:36to take a quick commercial break and we're going
- 15:39to come back and we're talking with Gwen Minter.
- 15:42You are listening to Look Who's Talking. Welcome
- 16:28back. You are listening to Look Who's Talking.
- 16:32And we are talking with Gwen Minter, author.
- 16:36You also are a pastor. We both co -pastor together.
- 16:42Yes, we do. So I got a question for you, Gwen.
- 16:44Yes, sir. Was there not enough stuff that you
- 16:47had to do that you decided to have to write a
- 16:49book? What was going on with you? Hey, dude,
- 16:52that wasn't my thing. You take that up with him,
- 16:54because I surely did not want to write a book
- 16:57right now. Absolutely. So what was your motivation
- 17:01in writing this book? The motivation was just,
- 17:04it goes back to being a God thing. I had no idea
- 17:07what he actually wanted me to write. Children's
- 17:11book, I'd written. book previously for mainly
- 17:14for adults but for children it was different
- 17:17um and so the motivation here is for family let's
- 17:21get the devices you know everybody's at the table
- 17:25doing this yeah when can we bring the family
- 17:29back together and so we know like Her story is
- 17:34very unique. It hits every genre. It hits every
- 17:37age. It doesn't matter. My mother's 84. She said,
- 17:40I haven't read a book in full in years. And she
- 17:44sat down and read this book. And somewhere in
- 17:47the book, everybody, you can find yourself. So
- 17:50who was this book originally designed for? Children.
- 17:54Children. Originally. But it's changed dramatically
- 17:58because people have, again, found themselves
- 18:01somewhere in this book. Right, right. Somewhere.
- 18:05Got you. So to some of our families, you know,
- 18:09our families are zero to five. What would you
- 18:14tell them this, how does this book relate to
- 18:17them? The book, first of all, they won't be able
- 18:21to read it, so a parent will have to read it
- 18:23to them. Right, right. There are 48 pictures.
- 18:26the child can come away from this is a better
- 18:30sense of belonging, of who they are in the family
- 18:34unit and how that matters. And even though they
- 18:38may not look like somebody else in their class,
- 18:41they may not even look like somebody else in
- 18:43their own household because everybody's different.
- 18:46But Gwinola teaches you that it doesn't matter.
- 18:50that you are unique no matter how you're built,
- 18:53no matter what you look like, God created you
- 18:56for a purpose. And after every chapter in this
- 18:59book is a scripture that goes along with the
- 19:02storyline of the chapter. And so for Gwenola
- 19:06being odd, she's been bullied. She's been ridiculed.
- 19:11There are, you know, in every family, there's
- 19:13family secrets. In Gwenola's family, there's
- 19:17family secrets. Oh, wow. You know, sometimes
- 19:19it can hurt you. because you think not telling
- 19:22somebody is the best thing, and then you find
- 19:25out that not telling them was the worst thing.
- 19:28Right, right. Okay? So for five -year -olds,
- 19:30I think they're going to get a big kick out of
- 19:32the pictures. There's 48. If you get the hard
- 19:36copy, it's 48 full -colored pictures that they
- 19:39can look at and almost make up their own stories.
- 19:42But it is about regaining the family environment.
- 19:50I saw an interview that you did once where a
- 19:54young lady that was in the audience had expressed
- 19:58about how this book will relate to her family
- 20:02in a way that I don't think. Originally, you
- 20:05may have been looking at where she said that
- 20:08one of her, she had twins. And one of the twins
- 20:12was dramatically different than the other twin
- 20:15and her family. So this young lady, I think she,
- 20:21it's almost her hair is blonde. And she's got
- 20:27pretty eyes. It's pretty much just like. Yeah,
- 20:29she really did. We know. And that was such a
- 20:33powerful moment that you could see how this book
- 20:37was reaching beyond its intent, right? This was
- 20:41an adult dealing with how a parent will... tell
- 20:48their child about how different they look and
- 20:51how they still family and how to how to navigate
- 20:54all of that I thought I was not a part of my
- 20:56family I am but but you know that that makes
- 21:02me think about I've always grew up and you know
- 21:07how well I don't know if y 'all ever went through
- 21:09this but someone always got something to say
- 21:12about what I'm doing. Like I knew that I was
- 21:14different and not necessarily physically different,
- 21:19but I knew like people say, why you always got
- 21:23to make this decision? Why are you all, why are
- 21:25you always so cheerful? Why are you almost as
- 21:29if it was a negative thing? And it's not. And
- 21:33that, that just kind of makes me. go back into
- 21:36that childlike and think, you know what, there's
- 21:40so much going on and people want kiddos to be
- 21:45the norm, whatever that means, the norm to them.
- 21:48But a norm to me was going above, like now seeing,
- 21:54thinking about then and knowing me as an adult,
- 21:58you know I go hard. I go above and beyond. I'm
- 22:01going to give you 10 ,000 % when you ask me for
- 22:03100. Those are the qualities that you don't want
- 22:07to stifle in a child. That's right. And thinking
- 22:11about, and I haven't even read it. I can't wait
- 22:13to read it. Because those are some of the things
- 22:17that children go through. But growing up, those
- 22:21things. Adults ask questions on questioning themselves,
- 22:26and it all starts when you're younger. Right.
- 22:28That perception you have of yourself. That's
- 22:31right. And not only are the characters not real,
- 22:36conversations between them are definitely real.
- 22:41Yes. Okay. But it's also an educational book
- 22:45because I research everything. Every flower.
- 22:48What? Every mountain. Every river. Everything
- 22:51is real. It can be found in the South African
- 22:55butch. So if the child wants to know more about
- 22:57the La Popo River, they can go to Google. They
- 23:00can research it. They can find out more about
- 23:02it. So it's also a teaching tool for children
- 23:06as well to learn about a culture that's different
- 23:09from theirs. And the other thing about Gwinala,
- 23:11all her friends, she only has maybe two other
- 23:14friends that's an elephant. The others, they're
- 23:18not. So she has to learn how to deal with. cultural
- 23:22diversities. And the personalities of these characters
- 23:29are hilarious. You got one that's very dramatic
- 23:32that you'll know immediately that's going to
- 23:34remind you of somebody in your childhood. You're
- 23:36going to say, oh, that's Pookie. That's Pookie
- 23:38right there. You know what I mean? So you will
- 23:40find somebody in this book that you can relate
- 23:44to in some way. I love it because we don't have
- 23:49or we don't see too many books for children and
- 23:53for the entire family, where they can pick something
- 23:57that they can relate to. In our program, we have
- 24:01assessed that our reading scores are down. And
- 24:05this sounds like something that the parent. We
- 24:10know reading to children increases literacy.
- 24:14That's right. Absolutely. And this sounds like
- 24:18something that can appeal to all members of the
- 24:22family. It can. No matter if you have a kid in
- 24:25Head Start or a school -age kid, a high schooler,
- 24:28or you're a full -blown adult. That's right.
- 24:30And Gwinoa is meant to be a legacy. That say
- 24:34when... the children that are in class right
- 24:38now, all right, they get to know Gwinola. That
- 24:41when they become adults and have children, they're
- 24:45going to want to start with the Gwinola series.
- 24:47This changed me. This helped grow me. Even on
- 24:51my worst days, I could go back to her. Gwinola
- 24:54is a voice for now. Yes. And she's a voice for
- 24:59the future. So I pray that your child will then,
- 25:04when they're grown, We'll come back and get granola
- 25:07for their children. And it will be a general,
- 25:09if, you know, somebody said, somebody told me
- 25:12about, they said, it was so hilarious. They said,
- 25:14if somebody can create a sponge, put him in the
- 25:18sea. and calling Bob, says, surely to God, Gwinola
- 25:23can speak to somebody. Right? Right. Give her
- 25:27an opportunity. But that's really what it's about,
- 25:32is to bring back the family. Have you always
- 25:35had a vivid imagination? Yes. Always. I'm the
- 25:41one that goes into a different character for
- 25:44my grandchildren. That they will say, alter ego,
- 25:48they will say, Can you bring grandma out? I dare
- 25:52you. I dare you. I will not bring that alter
- 25:56ego out. I will not do it on here. No, I will
- 25:58not do it. But they will ask for her. Yes. I
- 26:01am that person. Yes. Yes. I have always been
- 26:04very creative. This is going to be inappropriate,
- 26:08but I'm going to ask anyway. Give us a clue of.
- 26:13The next book, that's what I was going to say.
- 26:17What's coming up next? Give me some general of
- 26:21what we can expect with Gwenola. First of all,
- 26:26this book is a cliffhanger. It's a cliffhanger.
- 26:32But she's going to evolve. She's going to evolve.
- 26:36Like I said, she's young. You're getting to know
- 26:39her. You're getting to know her friends. But
- 26:41in the books to come, you will begin to see her
- 26:45purpose. Got you. Why she's here. Why she was
- 26:50born the way the color she was. Why she's endured
- 26:53the things she's had to endure. Because it's
- 26:57going to come out later that she's about to grow
- 26:59up to be something real special. Gotcha. She
- 27:04almost came out in her preacher voice. Did you
- 27:06hear it? Just a little twang. Was that a peep
- 27:08into the next book? Yeah, a little bit. Okay,
- 27:12okay. More to come, more to come. More to come.
- 27:15All right. Give me some contact information.
- 27:17How can we stay in touch with you and the journey
- 27:21with Gwinola? Well, we have a website. That's
- 27:27gwinola .com. How do you spell that? G -W -E
- 27:31-E -N -O -L -A .com. And then on Facebook, we
- 27:37have what's called Gwinola's World. We ask people,
- 27:42when you get the book, take a picture with it.
- 27:46And this is just a way for us to kind of keep
- 27:48up to just kind of see what people are doing.
- 27:50Are they actually enjoying the book and all those
- 27:54different things? And that's what's been our
- 27:57major point of contact. We've got a lot of things
- 28:02going on in the background that's going to be
- 28:06really wonderful. And I will say this because
- 28:08this is, I guess, a praise report. My publisher,
- 28:13honestly. When I told her what I heard from the
- 28:16Lord, she immediately grabbed hold of it. So
- 28:20much so now, she says, Gwen, you got something
- 28:24on your hands. She told me, she looked me in
- 28:26my face and said, you need to start really thinking
- 28:29about what Hollywood actors you want to be the
- 28:34voices for these characters. That's what's up.
- 28:38Seriously. So y 'all need to pray. Y 'all need
- 28:41to buy the book. No. Please buy the book. Buy
- 28:46the book. It's not for my glory. Where can you
- 28:49find this book? Oh, you can find it at Amazon
- 28:51.com, Walmart .com, Target. You can even go to
- 28:56your main ones, Barnes & Noble. Anywhere books
- 28:59are sold. Anywhere books are sold. Oh, okay.
- 29:02Yeah. And you have a color book, a hardback?
- 29:05And an e -book. A paperback. What you mean a
- 29:08color book? The hard copy is full color. Oh,
- 29:12okay. Everything is full color. So the paperback
- 29:15is not? It's black and white. But you also have
- 29:20an e -book. E -book, yes. Okay, so you can get
- 29:22it anywhere books are sold. Are sold. That is
- 29:27true. So we are excited. I can tell you right
- 29:28now you want to get the hardback. Yeah, the hardback
- 29:32is really, you have 48 pages. A full page color.
- 29:37You don't get a little block. You get a full
- 29:39page of color. These pictures are beautiful.
- 29:43And so, you know, God is really good. God gave
- 29:46us the, you know, what he wanted us to do. And
- 29:50we just kind of did it his way. And we're going
- 29:53to do it his way. And yours truly. Did the book.
- 30:01Laid out the book. Yes, he did. Yes, ma 'am.
- 30:04Yes, he did. This is a team. Yes. Team Mentor.
- 30:08God gave me the characters, but Mr. Cameron Mentor
- 30:11brought them to life. Yes, yes, yes. And even
- 30:15our publishers, he did all that. They didn't
- 30:18have to do it. And so he is listed in the book
- 30:22as the illustrator, and he put the book together.
- 30:27Now this must be me. Were you thinking about
- 30:29me when you thought about this one? Right, really.
- 30:32The hair, the lash, come on now. And all the
- 30:36characters have African names, and their names
- 30:40actually mean something in the African community.
- 30:44And I see that you have that in the back, a little
- 30:48glossary of their names. Yeah. Yeah. And, you
- 30:52know, and it's been a blessing. I mean, I even,
- 30:54you know, there's a young man that loved the
- 30:57book. But I pitched him the idea. He loved it.
- 31:00And he is the producer for CeCe Whining. Oh,
- 31:04wow. So it's a blessing. God is up to something
- 31:07that we don't know anything about. Well, great.
- 31:11Tell them how they can get ahold to it. Or you
- 31:14can tell the folks how to look this up again.
- 31:18Your website? Yes, it's Gwinola, G -W -E -E -N
- 31:22-O -L -A, Gwinola .com. And you can go to Facebook
- 31:27and go to Gwinola's World, but it's spelled a
- 31:30little different. It's also on Instagram, too.
- 31:32Yeah, Instagram. Yeah, so just check it out,
- 31:36check it out. Thank you. Become a follower. So
- 31:38much for being our guest today. It's been a pleasure
- 31:41having you. Well, thank you, sir. Thank you,
- 31:44Lisa, for the ghoulishly high. I need to leave
- 31:48the set. Damn mercy. Okay, I'm choked up. You
- 31:54have been listening to Look Who's Talking.
