New Plymouth Powers Ahead with Solar | Auckland News
New Plymouth, New Zealand’s sunniest city, is slashing electricity bills and slashing emissions with solar power—two new council installations already saving thousands, with one generating over $1,000 in its first month. Projected to save $30,000 annually, these systems are a win-win: cheaper energy for ratepayers, greener operations, and local jobs. Since 2018, emissions from natural gas and electricity have dropped 24% and 22% respectively, proving solar isn’t just eco-friendly—it’s fiscally smart too.
