- 0:30SPEAKER_01: Dear diary.
- 0:34SPEAKER_07: Maybe we should just start a country big brother and put all country artists in a room together for like called our country content house.
- 0:41SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 0:42SPEAKER_03: But we're just gonna put CCTV on.
- 0:46SPEAKER_06: Brad McConnell in matching t-shirts.
- 0:51SPEAKER_06: All you have is you've both been wearing button-ups.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: This is a Yonder, I found out to know.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: I've got given it.
- 0:59SPEAKER_06: Oh yeah, it's a cool team.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: Edgeman gave it to me, my drummer.
- 1:02SPEAKER_06: Benjamin.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: My Edgeman, my drummer.
- 1:04SPEAKER_06: Oh, Edgeman.
- 1:05SPEAKER_06: I was like, who's Benjamin?
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: Edge person.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: One of your old drummers.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: Sam.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Sam.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Go, I haven't seen that blog in years.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: What happened to him?
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: He said well, I sacked him.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: Tell him what's a bit hard.
- 1:24SPEAKER_02: I've not seen him in years either.
- 1:26SPEAKER_07: Since he fucking went up to Newcastle and welcome back, delayed love and boots.
- 1:32SPEAKER_07: Today we have the one and only Brad Cox.
- 1:34SPEAKER_07: He's no stranger to the Aria charts.
- 1:36SPEAKER_07: He's just released his new single, What Are the Odds, and he loves busting out a dance move on stage.
- 1:42SPEAKER_07: Ladies, please welcome Brad Cox.
- 1:44SPEAKER_06: Woo!
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: Good morning.
- 1:47SPEAKER_06: Good afternoon.
- 1:49SPEAKER_06: Good night.
- 1:50SPEAKER_06: Alexandria.
- 1:53SPEAKER_06: How are we feeling, Brad?
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: I'm well.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: I've had a big day and I'm really happy to be wrapping it up with you guys.
- 2:00SPEAKER_06: How's your uh how's your beer going down?
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: It's pretty good, actually.
- 2:03SPEAKER_06: Yeah, what are you drinking?
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Young Henry's New Town Australian pale ale that serves the people.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: That's actually really good.
- 2:08SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: I don't love pale ale, but this one's good.
- 2:12SPEAKER_06: How bloody good?
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: I've had a few of them over the years.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: Nice and local.
- 2:16SPEAKER_06: Not in the last two weeks, though.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: No, not in the last two weeks.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: I think I had gout undiagnosed.
- 2:23SPEAKER_07: Can you just explain what gout is for our listeners?
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Well, I I think it's it's a build-up of something in your joint that pretty much old men get.
- 2:33SPEAKER_07: So is it sore?
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: It's alright at the moment because I'm taking pills.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: Very good.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they went to the doctor after a few weeks and went, I can't walk very well.
- 2:42SPEAKER_07: And they said cut out the beer.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: No, I did that voluntarily.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: But uh I actually heard it on a surfboard.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: And uh that's where it started, and then I think it turned into gout, which is just so funny because it's a proper old man's disease.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: I was like crying when the bed sheet brushed across my toe.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: Oh no, worse than childbirth, they say, actually.
- 3:03SPEAKER_06: Really?
- 3:04SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:05SPEAKER_06: And I'm pretty tough.
- 3:05SPEAKER_06: Worse than childbirth.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: That's what they reckon.
- 3:08SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 3:08SPEAKER_06: A toe injury.
- 3:11SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 3:12SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 3:14SPEAKER_06: And she bites.
- 3:18SPEAKER_06: Um, Brad, are those glasses prescription?
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: They're not actually.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: Oh, they're pretty fresh.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: They're actually fresh.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: Sports girl.
- 3:25SPEAKER_06: No way!
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:26SPEAKER_06: They're pretty cool.
- 3:27SPEAKER_06: You've got some very um cool style happening, particularly in your merch.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: I've got um I've got a real addiction with cheap sunglasses at the moment.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: I actually wrote a really shitty song in um Nashville last week called Pharmacy Shades, because every time I walk into a pharmacy or a uh gas station or a server, I'm looking for that.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: But this is a sports girl edition.
- 3:46SPEAKER_06: What were you doing in Nashville last week?
- 3:47SPEAKER_06: We're at CMA Fest.
- 3:49SPEAKER_06: Last week?
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: Well, was it just pretty much last week?
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: Oh, it was like a month ago.
- 3:52SPEAKER_06: You hung around for a while.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Oh no, I was a month ago.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: I just said last week.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: So now you're calling me out on it.
- 3:57SPEAKER_06: So I was like, that was a long trip.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: No, no, I in yeah, in Nashville when I seen you there at the start of June.
- 4:05SPEAKER_06: Oh, okay, yeah.
- 4:06SPEAKER_06: Time flies when you're having fun, doesn't it?
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: It does.
- 4:10SPEAKER_06: Now, should we start off?
- 4:11SPEAKER_07: We're gonna do our segment first, which is Song of the Week.
- 4:14SPEAKER_07: Do you want to go first?
- 4:15SPEAKER_07: No, you can go.
- 4:16SPEAKER_07: Okay, I'll go first.
- 4:17SPEAKER_07: My Song of the Week is by someone called Solon Holt.
- 4:20SPEAKER_07: He's like a kind of new artist in America.
- 4:23SPEAKER_07: It's he's quite poppy, but he's actually supporting Megan Moroni at the moment, and his new song's so long, I'm like obsessed with it at the moment.
- 4:32SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 4:34SPEAKER_06: I'm just checking too.
- 4:35SPEAKER_06: My song of the week is The Nutbush.
- 4:37SPEAKER_07: The Nutbush.
- 4:38SPEAKER_07: That's not even the name of the song.
- 4:40SPEAKER_06: Is it actually Austin's city limits?
- 4:44SPEAKER_07: That's your song of the week.
- 4:45SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 4:46SPEAKER_07: Have you been listening to the week?
- 4:47SPEAKER_06: Well, I thought we could do the dance.
- 4:49SPEAKER_06: I thought we could do the dance now.
- 4:51SPEAKER_06: No, maybe later.
- 4:51SPEAKER_06: Later.
- 4:52SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: Have you actually listened to that song this week?
- 4:54SPEAKER_06: Um no, you caught me out on that.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: 141.
- 4:59SPEAKER_06: But Brad, it's only Wednesday.
- 5:01SPEAKER_06: So long time.
- 5:03SPEAKER_07: Are you gonna listen to it for the rest of the week?
- 5:06SPEAKER_07: No, I am.
- 5:08SPEAKER_07: Brad, what's your song of the week?
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: Um I forgot what it's called.
- 5:12SPEAKER_06: Happened to me all the time.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: Um Austin Mackay, same place, same time.
- 5:17SPEAKER_06: Oh is that his new romance one?
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: Uh I mean, I know he wrote it a while ago, but Austin's a great friend of mine.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: Taking him on the road a bunch over the years.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: But I've been fortunate enough to hear like 12 of his new songs that are unreleased, and they are all epic.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: He's um, I mean, I'm such a fan of him as a bloke, but his new music really feels like he's found his sound and somewhere between like Timeless Rock, the Eagles, and country music.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: And I mean, he's tall and handsome, and I really think he's gonna have a really good go in the next few years.
- 5:50SPEAKER_07: I agree.
- 5:50SPEAKER_07: I like his new song, is it Find the Light?
- 5:52SPEAKER_07: I think that's on his new album as well.
- 5:54SPEAKER_07: Is that the one you're talking about?
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: No, this one, the same place at the same time, came out the same day as my song on Friday.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: But Find the Light was the one before that, yeah.
- 6:02SPEAKER_07: Another, his uh ex-girlfriend has just released her first ever piece of music, and she's Unreal as well.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: Ella Ella Jones is her name, yeah.
- 6:11SPEAKER_07: Unreal.
- 6:11SPEAKER_07: I've been she's coming up a lot on my TikTok at the moment, and her voice is just like.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we we wrote, Austin and I and Ella wrote together in Nashville one day, and we got a really good song, and I spent a heap of time with Ella when we're over there.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: And um she's incredible, she's an incredible singer, and the songs that she's writing at the moment are really, really beautiful.
- 6:29SPEAKER_01: So I'm looking forward to seeing what she's doing.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: She's just getting started too.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: She's put one song out and doing a bunch of shows with Busby Maroo and a couple other people, and yeah, she's a really good chick.
- 6:39SPEAKER_07: But when you do a song right like that, how do you decide then who gets the song?
- 6:43SPEAKER_07: If you've just like gone together for the day and you've decided to write the song.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: Um I mean, there's sometimes there's a conversation about it.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: And sometimes sometimes you ask for it, I suppose.
- 6:55SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: But I mean, the one that we wrote was like it was kind of just implied that I was writing it for me.
- 7:03SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 7:04SPEAKER_07: Um Do you kind of have that in the back of your mind when you're writing the song?
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: Like this is more something that you would put out versus if you're like, Yeah, and I think you can know pretty quickly, particularly someone like Austin and Ella and me, who we're all very different artists.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: Like straight away when you s feel the vibe of the song, you can kind of see which direction it's it's going in, because I'm releasing very different music to Austin, who's releasing very different music to Elle.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: So um yeah, I mean, sometimes it's conversation, but a lot of times you just kind of know who's g who's gonna cut it if if it's ever gonna get cut too, you know.
- 7:35SPEAKER_06: Like so your sounds changed quite a bit, uh or you kind of moved in and out of of country and exploring different areas.
- 7:43SPEAKER_06: What do you think is like pushing you in different sp places in terms of your?
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: So completely honestly, like I hadn't listened to country music in like five years.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like legit.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: Someone goes, Oh, have you listened to Zach Top four years ago?
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: I was like, nah, I don't know who you're talking about.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: Been really inspired by like the 1975 and Sam Fender and Bruce Springsteen's early records, and you know, that was just what I was listening to.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: I'm a massive fan of Gang of You that's having for a long time.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: And um I love I love the way that they write songs in that alternative rock world, and and I feel like I mean, as much as country music is very real and means a lot, when when dudes like Sam Fender write a like say a political song, and it's just done in a different way, and I've always been drawn to that, like that that I don't know, it's not emotion or intention, maybe is the right word in a song.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: And um I really wanted to try and do my own flavour of that.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: So that's that's how that last record kind of came about, and I think creatively I really needed to do it, you know.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: I had three country records, and and I mean there's still country songs in there, and I like I always said like it might sound a bit different, but it's still Brad Cox, it's still mine, and to be honest, like that record I'm so proud of it, it's my favourite record I've ever made.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: And I wrote songs in a really different way to what I had in previous um.
- 9:03SPEAKER_07: What is the process?
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: How does it change if you just in the way of just lyrically?
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: Just lyrically in the way of themes and the way that a song's structured.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: Um, country music can be very down the line, first chorus, first chorus.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: Um and just trying to do something a little bit differently felt really good.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: Um and then I mean now with this new song, it's almost kind of gone back parallel to the to the Acres record almost, you know, which feels good too.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: But why?
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: Because I've been listening to that stuff again, you know.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: I was listening to a George Strait record the other day and I fell in love with Zach Topp, who I just mentioned.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: He was the only gig at the stadium that I went to at that CMA fest.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't love big crowds.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: It really kind of makes me uncomfortable.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: Um, but if I really want to go, I'll go and I really wanted to see him and so you liked him before CMA fest and then went to his yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: Like I'd listened to his records for the kind of few weeks beforehand and and um kind of understood what was going on.
- 10:00SPEAKER_07: How do you discover new music?
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: Like mate, honestly, if you don't tell me, I don't know.
- 10:05SPEAKER_06: Well, you're in the right place, but all we do is talk about new music, except for the nutbush.
- 10:10SPEAKER_06: Apologies for that one.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, swing swinging, I miss it.
- 10:16SPEAKER_06: I panicked, I panicked.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: No, honestly, though, because I'm not I'm not on social media, like I've never looked at TikTok in my life.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: Oh, really?
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: No, I've I've I don't have social media on my phone, I haven't done for probably four years now.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Um, so if you don't tell me about it, I don't know.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: But what happens is when you do tell me about it, I'll rinse it.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: If it's good, I'll I'll rinse it and get started.
- 10:37SPEAKER_07: So is that how you found people like Zach Topp?
- 10:39SPEAKER_07: Someone told you about him, and then you listen to it.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: Obviously, I kind of like you talking, you know what's going on.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: I just hadn't sit down and listen to the albums, you know.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: And I listen to albums, like someone tells me a song, I'll find what record it's on and listen to the whole and you listen to it from start to finish.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: Absolutely, because I make albums like that, yeah, you know, and I think I think we've lost that as consumers for a while.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: But I've I've also heard the kids coming back to it.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: Like there's people a lot younger than us that have never listened to an album that are realizing that it's a body of work, and I think it might be coming back.
- 11:09SPEAKER_02: Especially with vinyl, like people it's becoming trendy to have record players again, yeah.
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: Absolutely, yeah, it's definitely all of those things are are helping, you know, because you can't very easily just skip to song number three.
- 11:21SPEAKER_07: I'm just so bad I always press shuffle.
- 11:23SPEAKER_07: I like like being surprised by the song rather than like knowing the order, if that makes sense.
- 11:29SPEAKER_07: I don't know.
- 11:30SPEAKER_07: On the opposite, yeah.
- 11:31SPEAKER_07: I feel like it's not great my way.
- 11:33SPEAKER_07: I should be because I do think you probably take time to really think about what song and the order that's.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: Well, I mean, there's probably an argument to that as well.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: Like, people might not make albums like that anymore.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: They probably don't, but I do.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: So that's why I like to listen to it.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: And I mean, like, sometimes it's taken me months to figure out what order songs go in on an album because I'm thinking about it the way that I would listen to it, going, then you hear this one, then you feel this, then this is the theme, you know what I mean, and and work through it.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: But you know, maybe people aren't making records like that, and it's just hit after hit after hit.
- 12:05SPEAKER_07: Going back to the structure of songs, you said like verse choruses.
- 12:09SPEAKER_07: I just wanted to say your bridges in your songs.
- 12:12SPEAKER_07: I'm a massive fan of bridges, and I just wanted to bring it up.
- 12:16SPEAKER_07: Love the bridges.
- 12:17SPEAKER_07: I like they're so good, and they make you feel a different way than the rest of the song does, which is what I love about a bridge.
- 12:25SPEAKER_07: It's like creates like a whole new emotion.
- 12:27SPEAKER_07: So I just wanted to say that.
- 12:28SPEAKER_07: I appreciate that.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: I mean, a bridge is always traditionally made.
- 12:32SPEAKER_07: Is that a bit of a moment?
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: You're just shuffling the bridges.
- 12:40SPEAKER_07: And this is also, I will repeat the same song, and I do this all the time just to listen to the bridge again.
- 12:47SPEAKER_07: Like, I just will listen to the whole song, and I hate how in a car you can't fast forward the song because I would do that.
- 12:54SPEAKER_06: I would just fast forward to the bridge, but I'm like, I guess I'm playing it all over again.
- 12:57SPEAKER_06: So, what she's saying is she needs a song, a compilation of bridges.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, just like the maybe that might be my next project.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: There we go.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: A festival of bridges, yeah.
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: Suspension.
- 13:10SPEAKER_03: Very good.
- 13:12SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: Singles man.
- 13:19SPEAKER_06: Bit of bracing.
- 13:20SPEAKER_06: Anyway, guys.
- 13:23SPEAKER_02: Overtroubled border.
- 13:24SPEAKER_06: Sorry?
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: Over troubled border.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: I got it.
- 13:29SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, sorry, she struggles with the funny stuff sometimes.
- 13:32SPEAKER_06: I was doing it on purpose, you fuck.
- 13:40SPEAKER_06: So, Brad, you're um you're very much living country life.
- 13:43SPEAKER_06: You live down in Ginnabod, right?
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: No, it's central Queensland.
- 13:46SPEAKER_06: Oh, you're central Queensland now?
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Yapurn.
- 13:48SPEAKER_06: Oh, yeah, next week.
- 13:50SPEAKER_06: So you grew up in Gindy though?
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: Grew up in Gindy, yeah.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: My family's also in Gindy, but I went there last year for the first time in five years.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: Didn't even realise it had been that long.
- 13:58SPEAKER_06: Wait, and you're married?
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:00SPEAKER_06: Where'd you meet your wife?
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: Tamworth, actually.
- 14:02SPEAKER_06: No way! That's the second person.
- 14:04SPEAKER_06: No way! Can you talk us through the if if you if you want to?
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: Well, where where you met and stuff?
- 14:11SPEAKER_06: How'd you meet?
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: We met at the um go on guitars there.
- 14:14SPEAKER_06: No way!
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: And what happens is how?
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: What well you it's it's all a big illusion because you stand in a room and drink beers.
- 14:22SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: Then you walk outside, get in a car, they drive you 15 metres to the front door.
- 14:27SPEAKER_06: Yeah, they do.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: Then you get out of the car like an idiot and walk back inside.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: And uh Sammy years ago was one of the chicks driving the cars.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: No way! And at the time I spent all my time outside smoking cigarettes and drinking beers, and persistence beats resistance because every 15 metres she was coming back around.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: Here I was knocking on the door, and that's pretty much the whole we are on.
- 14:51SPEAKER_07: No way, yeah.
- 14:52SPEAKER_06: That's a crazy story.
- 14:53SPEAKER_07: I think people are giving us false hope that Grace is I'm gonna meet someone at Tamworth because everyone we talk to, everyone's like, yeah, I met them at Tamworth at the um Tamworth Country Music Festival.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: Well, well, well, you might be in like 2027.
- 15:04SPEAKER_06: Yeah, 2026 wasn't very fulfilled for us.
- 15:07SPEAKER_07: Always come to the football game.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: I think you also need to pocket that persistence meets resistance.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: That's uh good.
- 15:14SPEAKER_06: I am persistent.
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: Clearly, not enough though.
- 15:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, ladies find love country 2027 Tamil Country Music Festival.
- 15:28SPEAKER_05: Oh, ladies, I don't know.
- 15:30SPEAKER_05: We'll bring them to the football game.
- 15:32SPEAKER_05: So, Brad, we run the Ladies Love Country Touch Footy Cup.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: Touch footy.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: Touch footy Pussies.
- 15:39SPEAKER_05: Yeah, but we can't have any broken fingers with uh with the artists who need them for guitars and whatnot.
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: Oh, we're gonna let them decide though.
- 15:45SPEAKER_05: They can hold a microphone like this, right?
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: Absolutely, a bit of duct to duct to tender attitude.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah what would Dave Grohl say?
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: He'd be annoyed at that.
- 15:54SPEAKER_04: Wait, should I know who Dave Grohl is?
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he probably should.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: Oh he's he's the lead guy of the four fighters who broke his leg and sort of sort of sat on stage and played a show with a broken leg.
- 16:07SPEAKER_04: No, he didn't.
- 16:07SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 16:08SPEAKER_04: Okay, so we're gonna try and avoid that, but we would love to see you there.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: What position am I running?
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: You can run whatever.
- 16:16SPEAKER_07: Are you a 5A?
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: Definitely not built like a 5A.
- 16:22SPEAKER_07: Um I was thinking about it.
- 16:24SPEAKER_02: That was Brad, your guest doing humour again.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: Successfully too.
- 16:33SPEAKER_07: Except she doesn't know what a 5-8 is.
- 16:35SPEAKER_07: I don't know what a 5-8 is.
- 16:36SPEAKER_02: Um it's a fraction.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: What's that an What's that an invite to join the team?
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: What are we doing?
- 16:43SPEAKER_06: 100%.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: What happens what happens at this time?
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: Okay, so here's we like bashing fans or what's the go with you?
- 16:48SPEAKER_06: No, no.
- 16:49SPEAKER_06: Bashing each other.
- 16:50SPEAKER_06: Oh my god.
- 16:51SPEAKER_06: Or the artists.
- 16:52SPEAKER_06: You can have a punch on his team with anyone.
- 16:54SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 16:55SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 16:55SPEAKER_06: So Wade.
- 16:56SPEAKER_06: You'll be on the blue team.
- 16:57SPEAKER_07: The reason it started was originally Wade put together his team list of who we'd want in an NRL team full of country artists.
- 17:05SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 17:06SPEAKER_07: And he brought it to the podcast, and we were like, well, let's make this happen.
- 17:09SPEAKER_07: And so we started.
- 17:10SPEAKER_07: He had two months.
- 17:11SPEAKER_07: You were on the T.
- 17:12SPEAKER_07: But I don't think he came to Tamworth last year.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: I was there for like 45 seconds.
- 17:16SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 17:16SPEAKER_07: What?
- 17:17SPEAKER_07: And he didn't stop in?
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: I wasn't invited.
- 17:19SPEAKER_06: Yeah, you were.
- 17:20SPEAKER_06: Well, I didn't see TikTok.
- 17:23SPEAKER_06: That's probably why.
- 17:24SPEAKER_06: That's probably why.
- 17:25SPEAKER_06: That's probably why.
- 17:26SPEAKER_06: So we need you this year.
- 17:27SPEAKER_06: What do you mean?
- 17:28SPEAKER_06: This is your your formal in-person invitation.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, in front of all of the public.
- 17:32SPEAKER_06: So the 22nd of January is a Friday.
- 17:36SPEAKER_06: We're gonna do Friday afternoon.
- 17:37SPEAKER_06: It's Friday night lights.
- 17:38SPEAKER_06: 5 pm, 6 pm kickoff.
- 17:40unknown: Okay.
- 17:41SPEAKER_06: And it's gonna be a big event.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: What's the policy on uh blood alcohol limit?
- 17:45SPEAKER_06: Uh you can go for your life.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: Because you know, 5 pm Friday is kind of my time to shine.
- 17:50SPEAKER_06: That's your time.
- 17:51SPEAKER_06: That's your time.
- 17:52SPEAKER_06: No, you can do whatever you want on the field.
- 17:55SPEAKER_06: There's no rules except for the waiver.
- 17:57SPEAKER_06: You have to sign the waiver.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: And not tackle people.
- 17:59SPEAKER_06: No, no, no, you can tackle people.
- 18:00SPEAKER_06: There was a biff at the end, but that was actually the ref.
- 18:03SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know what that is?
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: Well they chin the ref.
- 18:05SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: Who's refing actually?
- 18:07SPEAKER_07: Proper refs.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: And what state are they from?
- 18:10SPEAKER_06: Um it's a great question.
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm liking this.
- 18:13SPEAKER_06: So would you say you're on the blues or you're marrons?
- 18:16SPEAKER_06: Blues.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: Well, we were just talking about this in the car.
- 18:18SPEAKER_06: The state of origin, who do you go for?
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: I love Queensland.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: I love everything about Queensland.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: I will live in Queensland for the rest of my life to some capacity.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: I love Queensland every day except three days a year.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: Where I go for the mighty New South Wales blues.
- 18:33SPEAKER_06: Okay, but don't they usually lose?
- 18:35SPEAKER_06: Excuse me.
- 18:36SPEAKER_06: Did you watch the football game?
- 18:38SPEAKER_06: Oh no, but like, wasn't that the first time in ages?
- 18:40SPEAKER_06: No.
- 18:41SPEAKER_06: Oh.
- 18:43SPEAKER_02: Ray, so you just got a target on your head for the touch footy game.
- 18:46SPEAKER_06: Why?
- 18:48SPEAKER_07: But it's not New South Wales.
- 18:50SPEAKER_06: This is not an NRL podcast, okay?
- 18:52SPEAKER_07: But it's not New South Wales versus Queensland for the touch game.
- 18:55SPEAKER_07: Yeah, no, no, no.
- 18:56SPEAKER_07: Well, how do you split the we just split them kind of evenly and then now that sounds so 2026?
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: Touch football, split evenly so no one gets hurt, sign a waiver.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: Come on.
- 19:10SPEAKER_06: Yeah, but you can go ahead.
- 19:11SPEAKER_06: You can be the whatever blood alcohol limit you want.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, see, I'm into that.
- 19:15SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 19:16SPEAKER_07: Now you can look at both teams.
- 19:18SPEAKER_07: Let us know which team you want to be on.
- 19:20SPEAKER_07: Who do you want to smash?
- 19:21SPEAKER_07: If like if you're in the forward pack, who are you going on?
- 19:24SPEAKER_07: Forward pack?
- 19:25SPEAKER_06: What the heck's?
- 19:27SPEAKER_07: Is everyone talking in that?
- 19:30SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 19:34SPEAKER_07: Who do you want to smash?
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: Well, eh.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: I mean, I reckon I could knock it over Robbie Mortimer pretty quickly.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: Cindy's got that footy blood, you know.
- 19:45SPEAKER_01: Cindy's got that footy blood, or I reckon I reckon it needs to be knocked out of him.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: Okay, so let's see it happen.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: That long hair needs a bit of sorting out of it.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'll bring an hair toil for him.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: Pigtails.
- 20:06SPEAKER_06: Okay, there's a lot of shit talking.
- 20:08SPEAKER_06: We better see you then.
- 20:09SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 20:10SPEAKER_06: Blue team edition.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: I'll check my calendar.
- 20:12SPEAKER_07: Oh, blue team lost last year, so they need all the help that they can get.
- 20:16SPEAKER_07: Alright.
- 20:16SPEAKER_07: So you will be at Tamworth.
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: Maybe on the guy.
- 20:18SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'll be at Tamworth.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: Okay, cool.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: Hasn't been announced yet, but I've just announced it.
- 20:22SPEAKER_06: Well, when does it come out?
- 20:23SPEAKER_06: When does the announcement come out?
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: Well I don't know, now.
- 20:26SPEAKER_06: Oh.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're playing at the Bongyard.
- 20:33SPEAKER_06: The Long Yard?
- 20:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:35SPEAKER_06: Good one.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: I've been calling it the Bong Yard for ten years.
- 20:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we'll we'll be there.
- 20:42SPEAKER_06: Oh, that'll be a good show.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: Tickets will be on sale when they're on sale.
- 20:45SPEAKER_07: Okay, I love that.
- 20:46SPEAKER_07: Because you have your headline run starting next week.
- 20:49SPEAKER_07: Tomorrow?
- 20:49SPEAKER_07: This week?
- 20:50SPEAKER_07: Oh, this week.
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: Friday.
- 20:52SPEAKER_07: Where's your first show?
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: We do Perth and Adelaide this weekend.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: And then uh from there we do uh Brunswick.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: I'm doing a little pop-up in Port Macquarie, then we do Brunswick Heads.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Um do you know Brunswick Heads?
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: It's the environment.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: The reason I'm going there is I've been making all this music just out outside of Mullum and staying in Brunswick Heads.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: Oh I love that part of the world.
- 21:10SPEAKER_06: Is that because there's no reception there?
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: No, it's because my producer has a beautiful studio in the jungle.
- 21:16SPEAKER_06: Oh, very nice.
- 21:16SPEAKER_06: Where are Sunsabaticus live?
- 21:18SPEAKER_06: Oh yeah, nearby.
- 21:19SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: And I've been learning to surf at Brunswick Heads.
- 21:22SPEAKER_06: Nice, how's it going?
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: I've been throwing a few shocomahalos around.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: Ask him about his toe again.
- 21:31SPEAKER_06: I actually heard um you can ski, can't you?
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 21:35SPEAKER_06: You can do a vacuum ski, can't you?
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's been many, many years.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: But when I've done it once when I was a kid I did, yeah.
- 21:41SPEAKER_06: No, I heard you're pretty good.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'll get down.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: Well, I mean, you know, it's a gravity sport, and I'm quite a large human, so I was always quick.
- 21:51SPEAKER_06: Some advantages.
- 21:53SPEAKER_06: Yeah, that's good.
- 21:53SPEAKER_06: That is good.
- 21:54SPEAKER_06: So how do you go on the surfboard?
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, but it's kind of also a gravity sport.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: Surfing is one of the hardest things.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: I've ever had to learn.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm a beginner.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: I'm still learning.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: I've been learning for like a year.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: But it's um, I love it.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: I'm fully looking to the Philippines surfing in October.
- 22:09SPEAKER_07: No way.
- 22:09SPEAKER_07: I love the Philippines.
- 22:11SPEAKER_07: Oh, you been there?
- 22:12SPEAKER_07: Obsessed.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm going to hang 10 in the Philippines.
- 22:14SPEAKER_06: Hang 10.
- 22:14SPEAKER_06: Um hang 10 if your toe doesn't go so good.
- 22:20SPEAKER_06: It was good for you.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: 25 minutes back for the party.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: Welcome back.
- 22:27SPEAKER_03: Set it up for me.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: Oh, you saw that on the teleprompter then.
- 22:34SPEAKER_03: Fucking we've this girl show would be so careful jumping in charge.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: No, serving's awesome.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's I'm I'm not a really spiritual guy unless it comes to the ocean.
- 22:46SPEAKER_06: Oh, okay.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: And there's something about the ocean that I mean, if I'm away from the ocean for more than two weeks, like I start to feel it in my behaviour, in my head, and it's really special for me.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: And serving was just kind of the next thing for that, and I love it.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: I'm so addicted.
- 23:01SPEAKER_07: Do you think that will come out in your music?
- 23:02SPEAKER_07: Because there is like a coastal kind of like sound.
- 23:05SPEAKER_07: Do you think you'd bring that into your music?
- 23:07SPEAKER_07: Yeah, been writing a lot about it.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, been writing a lot about.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: There's a great um song called Server's Journal by Leif Volerbeck.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: Do you know that guy?
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: No.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: He's a he's from Montreal, Canadian songwriter.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: Really, it looks like I shouldn't say that.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: You can say whatever you want.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: Well, when he when he plays music, it looks like he's a junkie.
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: It's so but it's like he's it's he's so in the song called Server's Journal.
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: That's that's kind of like that same thing that he navigated on Server's Journal, is what I tried to kind of recreate on Sunset Psalm, that kind of spiritual feeling.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: But yes, there is I've I've been writing a lot about a lot about that that kind of stuff.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: I wrote a song the other day called Win the Morning, Win the Day.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: It's all about that kind of kind of orb.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: Get the honey badger on there for a bit of a cameo.
- 23:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, dude, I haven't seen that guy in years.
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: Does he still exist?
- 23:58SPEAKER_02: I think he's gone up north.
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's he's an interesting guy.
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: I suppose.
- 24:02SPEAKER_07: Is that what he used to say?
- 24:03SPEAKER_07: Win the day, win the morning.
- 24:04SPEAKER_07: I mean win the morning, win the day.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, something like that.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I spent some time on an island with that guy many years ago.
- 24:10SPEAKER_07: What?
- 24:10SPEAKER_07: On a reality TV show or just No, just chumming.
- 24:13SPEAKER_01: Just chumin'.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: Just chumming.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: There's more to this.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: There's more to this story.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: There's a bit more to that story.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: He's a good guy.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: He's an interesting dude.
- 24:23SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: Shout out to the badger.
- 24:25SPEAKER_06: Okay, so we dropped you on an island with someone.
- 24:31SPEAKER_06: Like who are you bringing?
- 24:32SPEAKER_06: Like a desert, deserted island.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: Aaron Gallagher.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: He's one half of the back to basics.
- 24:39SPEAKER_01: Go to Back to Basics on YouTube.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: Massive YouTube channel.

- 24:45SPEAKER_01: Australian or a Australian is a friend of mine.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: And he's one of my best mates, and he's very, very handy at living.
- 24:54SPEAKER_06: Okay, cool.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: And surviving.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: I'm lucky enough to know kind of people like that.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: There's probably a few on that list, to be honest.
- 25:00SPEAKER_06: There probably is okay.
- 25:01SPEAKER_06: Um we um had to drop you with a country artist.
- 25:05SPEAKER_06: Who are you choosing?
- 25:07SPEAKER_06: Can be international or Australian.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: Oh, I don't know.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: A country artist on a deserted island.
- 25:17SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: I mean, do we have any supplies?
- 25:21SPEAKER_06: No supplies.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: No supplies?
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: No comments.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: Survival only.
- 25:24SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah, survival only.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: I was about to say Candy Chesney, because he owns a big yacht, but I like your life.
- 25:30SPEAKER_06: Let's go with that.
- 25:30SPEAKER_06: Let's go with that.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: Actually, Jimmy Buffett probably bring the margaritas.
- 25:34SPEAKER_06: Yeah, that's true.
- 25:35SPEAKER_06: He would bring the margaritas.
- 25:37SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:37SPEAKER_01: I feel like if you're singing like that, you spend a lot of time on an island like chasing crays.
- 25:41SPEAKER_06: Like you and the honey badger.
- 25:43SPEAKER_01: Like sock many badge.
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: Just cray hunting.
- 25:48SPEAKER_06: If you had to go on a reality TV show, which one are you gonna go on?
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: This one.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: I'd I don't really know any reality TV show.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: Ladies love country, big brother.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: Oh I know, love on the spectrum.
- 26:04SPEAKER_02: That's good.
- 26:04SPEAKER_02: You'll meet Grace on there.
- 26:10SPEAKER_01: I reckon I'd do well.
- 26:12SPEAKER_03: Me too.
- 26:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Grace will be on the um the celebrity edition where they bring back all the people that didn't find someone on the first trick though.
- 26:23SPEAKER_01: What the have a go again round?
- 26:29SPEAKER_07: I'll just go.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: I like become grace, though.

- 26:37SPEAKER_07: Okay, we're gonna play a game with you.
- 26:39SPEAKER_07: It is a TikTok thing, but we'll explain it to you.
- 26:42SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you're gonna have to.
- 26:43SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that's okay.
- 26:44SPEAKER_07: So we're gonna give you four of your own songs.
- 26:47SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 26:47SPEAKER_07: And you have to blind react to them.
- 26:49SPEAKER_07: So you have to put them first, second, third, fourth, but you don't know what's coming next.
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 26:54SPEAKER_07: Okay, so I'll play it for you out loud.
- 26:56SPEAKER_07: One being f the best, four being the least best.
- 27:00SPEAKER_06: What do you say?
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: Just to clarify.
- 27:02SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 27:03SPEAKER_01: One is the best.
- 27:04SPEAKER_06: You gotta you gotta do that?
- 27:05SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 27:05SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: I mean, I know the song.
- 27:09SPEAKER_07: Say the song, sorry.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: The song is everything I've got.
- 27:11SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 27:11SPEAKER_07: Are you putting it one, two, three, or four?
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: I mean, everyone would do a safe option, wouldn't they?
- 27:17SPEAKER_07: Well, not everyone though.
- 27:18SPEAKER_07: You're going four.
- 27:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:20SPEAKER_07: Wow, okay.
- 27:21SPEAKER_07: Wow.

- 27:24SPEAKER_07: You do.
- 27:25SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 27:29SPEAKER_01: What are the odds?
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: Brand new.
- 27:31SPEAKER_06: Yep.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: Two.
- 27:33SPEAKER_06: Ooh.
- 27:35SPEAKER_06: Big favourite.
- 27:36unknown: Okay.
- 27:37SPEAKER_01: Well, it is at the moment.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: Fresh is best.
- 27:39SPEAKER_07: Okay, fresh is best.
- 27:40SPEAKER_07: I'm playing Jock's favourite.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: That's the That's I was about to say Legus, but it's not water on the ground.
- 27:48SPEAKER_07: It's Jock's favourite.
- 27:49SPEAKER_07: He told me before that he cries to that song.
- 27:54SPEAKER_02: Oh, you know, you know, I thought I was in the stage space with a moment of vulnerability.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: I need to know in what situation.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: What are you where are you and what are you wearing, Jock?
- 28:05SPEAKER_01: When you're crying at that film.
- 28:07SPEAKER_02: I'm normally dropping.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: I'm thinking like eating cocoa pops in your underpants in the kitchen, but I might be wrong.
- 28:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, holding my nipples.
- 28:14SPEAKER_02: No.
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: No, it's because obviously it came out right around the drought, mum and dad farmers, and we knew a couple of blokes who uh didn't make it through.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: Fuck off, mate.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: Get serious on the fucking gonna have a joke about cocoa bops in your underpants.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry to hear that.
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: Sorry, that's very sad.
- 28:40SPEAKER_02: No, that's right.
- 28:41SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: I'm glad you like the song, bro.
- 28:45SPEAKER_02: If you get a bit emotional, just be ready, I'll kick you in the balls.
- 28:48SPEAKER_02: Thank you, bro.
- 28:49SPEAKER_01: Appreciate that.
- 28:50SPEAKER_07: Okay, so what are we putting that?
- 28:52SPEAKER_07: You can either have number one or number three.
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: See if I go number three.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: That leaves a lot of songs open for number one.
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: It might be a dud.
- 29:01SPEAKER_07: That's not the problem.
- 29:02SPEAKER_07: Like, could I stitch you up?
- 29:04SPEAKER_07: You're going three, okay.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: Go and stitch me up.
- 29:08SPEAKER_07: But they all all should be number one.
- 29:10SPEAKER_07: Okay, I'm gonna go to number one.
- 29:16SPEAKER_07: Are you happy with your choice?
- 29:17SPEAKER_07: I actually am.
- 29:17SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I feel like that's what I'm saying.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: What are the acres?
- 29:20SPEAKER_07: Akers, then what are the odds, then everything I've got.
- 29:25SPEAKER_07: No, then water on the ground, then everything I got.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: Well, I got an old though.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: Right now, you know?
- 29:31SPEAKER_07: Welcome to TikTok, Brad.
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: I'll be ticking and talking.
- 29:36SPEAKER_06: That's kind of what they say.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, maybe.
- 29:44SPEAKER_06: Are you ready for game number two?
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 29:46SPEAKER_06: Well, how many games have we played already?
- 29:48SPEAKER_06: Too many games.
- 29:48SPEAKER_06: Okay, we're gonna play what are the odds.
- 29:51SPEAKER_06: Yeah, we can get that every game.
- 29:53SPEAKER_06: Every time.
- 29:54SPEAKER_06: Um, we're gonna play what are the odds.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 29:56SPEAKER_06: Have you um have you played that game before?
- 29:59SPEAKER_01: No.
- 29:59SPEAKER_06: Oh, what?
- 30:00unknown: What?
- 30:01SPEAKER_06: It's like an OG game.
- 30:02SPEAKER_06: In high school, you'd play all the time.
- 30:04SPEAKER_07: So I say, Holly, what are the odds that um I scull the rest of this can and I would pick a number, so I'll say like 10.
- 30:13SPEAKER_07: No, no, I you say it to me.
- 30:15SPEAKER_07: So okay.
- 30:19SPEAKER_02: Grace is famously terrible.
- 30:21SPEAKER_02: Unexplained.
- 30:22SPEAKER_07: Unexplained.
- 30:23SPEAKER_07: You should hear her explain how to say Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, oi, oy, oi.
- 30:27SPEAKER_07: I tell you.
- 30:27SPEAKER_07: The amount of times we've had to.
- 30:29SPEAKER_06: Do you need to explain it?
- 30:30SPEAKER_06: I listened to it back and it was fun.
- 30:34SPEAKER_01: And then you couldn't.
- 30:40SPEAKER_06: She's running on her team, Rand.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: I leave it to tackle.
- 30:47SPEAKER_02: No, she's running on her own frequency there, I think.
- 30:51SPEAKER_06: Anyway, guys, if you like to continue.
- 30:55SPEAKER_01: Could you please explain this game to me now?
- 30:57SPEAKER_07: So I would say, Grace, what are the odds you scull the rest of your drink?
- 31:03SPEAKER_07: She would say, uh, three.
- 31:06SPEAKER_07: And then we go three, two, one, and if we both say the same number, she has to do it.
- 31:12SPEAKER_07: So we'd go three, two, one, two.
- 31:15SPEAKER_07: So then she has to skull her drink.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: But what's the point of saying three?
- 31:18SPEAKER_07: It was a stupid number because like you'd say like ten for like something you're kind of okay with doing a hundred for something that you're doing.
- 31:26SPEAKER_02: If you think the consequence of getting the same number is really bad, you'd say like a hundred.
- 31:31SPEAKER_02: Then you'd say a higher number because the chances of both getting that number is less.
- 31:37SPEAKER_02: Less.
- 31:37SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna say this.
- 31:39SPEAKER_01: I think all three of you are terrible at explaining.
- 31:43SPEAKER_01: But I'll give it a go.
- 31:47SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 31:48SPEAKER_01: 86.
- 31:51SPEAKER_06: 67 here we go again.
- 31:56SPEAKER_06: Okay, um, what are the odds you shave one eyebrow?
- 32:01SPEAKER_07: So say a number you want out of.
- 32:03SPEAKER_07: So would you like to do that or would you not like to do that?
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: I would not like to do that.
- 32:07SPEAKER_07: So say like a hundred.
- 32:08SPEAKER_01: A hundred.
- 32:09SPEAKER_07: Okay, so then I'll say three, two, one, and you both have to pick a number between one hundred.
- 32:13SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 32:14SPEAKER_07: And if you get the same time, you're shaving an eyebrow.
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 32:18SPEAKER_07: Three, two, one.
- 32:20SPEAKER_01: Eighty five.
- 32:22SPEAKER_06: Okay, you got off scot-free.
- 32:25SPEAKER_06: Okay, that's good.
- 32:26SPEAKER_06: You can also ask us questions if you want.
- 32:28SPEAKER_06: But otherwise, we have a few more.
- 32:30SPEAKER_06: Would you like to do one?
- 32:31SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 32:32SPEAKER_07: I actually have one.
- 32:33SPEAKER_07: Oh, okay.
- 32:34SPEAKER_07: Okay, what are the odds you put Ladies Love Country in one of your new songs as a lyric?
- 32:43SPEAKER_06: It's like 4,000.
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: Eight.
- 32:48SPEAKER_07: Whoa! Okay.
- 32:50SPEAKER_07: Okay, you ready?
- 32:50SPEAKER_07: Are you gonna do the cat down?
- 32:52SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 32:53SPEAKER_01: So wait, what are what number of?
- 32:55SPEAKER_07: A number between one and eight.
- 32:56SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 32:57SPEAKER_06: Three, two, one, four.
- 32:59SPEAKER_06: Six.
- 33:01SPEAKER_06: It's a bit of a delay happening over here.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: It doesn't mean it won't happen.
- 33:09SPEAKER_01: It's not an eyebrow app and lose.
- 33:12SPEAKER_01: What about just a slip?
- 33:14SPEAKER_01: Doesn't that mean you're gay?
- 33:16SPEAKER_06: I don't know, does it?
- 33:17SPEAKER_01: Thomas, does it?
- 33:21SPEAKER_01: No.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 33:22SPEAKER_06: What are the odds you order your next meal in a whisper?
- 33:28SPEAKER_01: Like, I'll have a cheeseburger.
- 33:31SPEAKER_01: One?
- 33:32SPEAKER_06: It's kind of defeats about the game.
- 33:35SPEAKER_01: Two?
- 33:36SPEAKER_06: Two.
- 33:37SPEAKER_06: Three, two, one, two.
- 33:41SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna do that anyway.
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 33:43SPEAKER_01: I've had such a big day, I'm getting Uber Eats for sure tonight, and I'm gonna do that and laugh to myself.
- 33:47SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 33:48SPEAKER_06: What are the odds you do 20 push-ups right here, right now?
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: Pretty good.
- 33:54SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 33:54SPEAKER_06: Pretty good.
- 33:55SPEAKER_06: Give us a number.
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: Six.
- 33:59SPEAKER_06: Oh I would not be putting that number.
- 34:01SPEAKER_01: They might not be good ones, but I'll do it.
- 34:03SPEAKER_06: Yeah, it's okay.
- 34:03SPEAKER_06: It's for the comedic value.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 34:06SPEAKER_06: Three, two, one, three.
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: Oh Grace, what are the odds that you do 20 push-ups right there?
- 34:14SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 34:14SPEAKER_06: Uh what did you say?
- 34:16unknown: Six.
- 34:16SPEAKER_02: I said six.
- 34:17SPEAKER_06: Six.
- 34:19SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 34:20SPEAKER_02: Three, two, one, two, two.
- 34:28SPEAKER_07: What are you doing?
- 34:30SPEAKER_07: Oh no.
- 34:31SPEAKER_02: Just stand by.
- 34:32SPEAKER_02: We've got to wave a little noodle arms to try and kiss the ground a few times.
- 34:37SPEAKER_07: What's she doing?
- 34:44SPEAKER_07: Excuses, excuses, excuses.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: Is that two?
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: Unbelievable.
- 35:00SPEAKER_01: What does that mean?
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: Like we you buy a carton now or something?
- 35:03SPEAKER_00: Because you didn't do it, or game guys, let's continue.
- 35:11SPEAKER_01: That was fun.
- 35:12SPEAKER_01: I don't know how I feel about that.
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: Huh?
- 35:14SPEAKER_01: I was kind of impressed you did them in that boots, but then I wasn't impressed because you only did one and a half.
- 35:18SPEAKER_06: Yeah, but my arms were about to fall off.
- 35:19SPEAKER_06: I had boxing this morning.
- 35:21SPEAKER_01: You gotta go surfing.
- 35:23SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I have a couple times.
- 35:26SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 35:26SPEAKER_01: If you surf every day, you do the push-ups.
- 35:28SPEAKER_06: Oh yeah, 100%.
- 35:29SPEAKER_06: No, it's because I haven't been surfing, that's why I couldn't do the push-ups.
- 35:32SPEAKER_01: But we're uh maybe we should go surfing.
- 35:33SPEAKER_06: Let's do it.
- 35:34SPEAKER_01: That'll be pretty fun.
- 35:35SPEAKER_01: That would be.
- 35:36SPEAKER_01: Mountain football, we'll do a little surf day out.
- 35:39SPEAKER_01: That'd be pretty funny.
- 35:40SPEAKER_07: Is there surf at Tamworth?
- 35:42SPEAKER_01: Oh no, that wasn't a serious question, was it?
- 35:47SPEAKER_07: I know there's no surf.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: You looked really serious when you said that.
- 35:51SPEAKER_01: And I got me really worried.
- 35:53SPEAKER_07: At the football game.
- 35:55SPEAKER_02: What are the odds you've looked at a map?
- 35:57SPEAKER_01: I'm in.
- 35:58SPEAKER_07: I know Red Tamworth is a bit.
- 36:05SPEAKER_06: We get up with the hot springs.
- 36:06SPEAKER_06: We do a we do a surf day um instead of the bottom.
- 36:11SPEAKER_06: Let's go.
- 36:13SPEAKER_01: Um damn.
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: One.
- 36:17SPEAKER_00: Three, two, one, one.
- 36:25SPEAKER_07: We're ditching school! What are the odds you send a voice memo of you singing but terribly?
- 36:33SPEAKER_07: And a new song that like has terrible lyrics to your producer saying, What do you think about this new song?
- 36:39SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 36:40SPEAKER_01: 12?
- 36:41unknown: Okay.
- 36:42SPEAKER_07: You're really going low with the numbers.
- 36:44SPEAKER_07: I love it.
- 36:44SPEAKER_07: Three, two, one, eight.
- 36:46SPEAKER_07: Eight.
- 36:51SPEAKER_01: Do I do this now?
- 36:52SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 36:55SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 36:57SPEAKER_01: What do I voice memo something, do I?
- 36:58SPEAKER_07: Yes, like of you singing really badly.
- 37:03SPEAKER_01: I don't think I have it in me.
- 37:04SPEAKER_01: Just be like, okay, you don't have to do it.
- 37:06SPEAKER_02: Here's a bit of a riff I've been thinking about um just want to run it past you, think you know, put it in a holding pad or something.
- 37:13SPEAKER_06: Why don't you give it a go?
- 37:14SPEAKER_06: Alright.
- 37:15SPEAKER_01: Oh maybe I should do that.
- 37:17SPEAKER_01: I'll say, oh yeah, there's a new song, but then Jock sings it.
- 37:24SPEAKER_07: Done.
- 37:25SPEAKER_07: Beautiful.
- 37:27SPEAKER_07: Jock, are you ready?
- 37:28SPEAKER_07: Driving down a road, ladies love country.
- 37:36SPEAKER_06: I've not said you don't have to do it.
- 37:44SPEAKER_06: Do you know do you know Phil Barton?
- 37:45SPEAKER_01: Well.
- 37:46SPEAKER_06: Okay, we love Phil Martin.
- 37:48SPEAKER_01: Who's the best?
- 37:49SPEAKER_06: And he actually we actually did a songwriting um class with him.
- 37:54SPEAKER_06: Episode with him.
- 37:55SPEAKER_01: Episode.
- 37:55SPEAKER_01: I'm sure it was good because he's awesome.
- 37:59SPEAKER_06: So we um we got we he I mean, I'm sure he carried the team.
- 38:02SPEAKER_06: He 100% carried the team, but we got a ladies' love country song out of it.
- 38:08SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 38:08SPEAKER_06: And he said he's gonna record it for us.
- 38:10SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:10SPEAKER_06: No, he said he's playing at the listening room.
- 38:12SPEAKER_06: What?
- 38:14SPEAKER_01: That's the new jingle.
- 38:15SPEAKER_07: Because he's playing his like 500th show at the listening room.
- 38:18SPEAKER_07: He's not playing the listening room.
- 38:19SPEAKER_07: And I said, Surely you're singing the ladies' love country song.
- 38:22SPEAKER_07: And he said, Oh yes.
- 38:24SPEAKER_07: I've taken that as a yes.
- 38:26SPEAKER_06: I don't know if we can trust this guy.
- 38:29SPEAKER_01: That guy's a lunatic.
- 38:30SPEAKER_01: I love him.
- 38:30SPEAKER_06: Yeah, we do too.
- 38:32SPEAKER_06: Well, Brad, thank you so much for coming on Ladies' Love Country.
- 38:35SPEAKER_01: Thank you for having me.
- 38:35SPEAKER_06: Playing our games.
- 38:37SPEAKER_01: Is he coming to the Sydney show?
- 38:38SPEAKER_06: Yeah, we'll come to the Sydney show.
- 38:40SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 38:40SPEAKER_06: Yeah, but we'll be there and we're gonna do our surf day.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 38:44SPEAKER_06: That'd be fun on the 23rd of January.
- 38:49SPEAKER_01: I look incredible in a wetsuit.
- 38:51SPEAKER_06: I'm sure.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: I look like that.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: You know that a bug's life show and there's that caterpillar.
- 38:55SPEAKER_01: I'm a beautiful butterfly.
- 38:57SPEAKER_01: I'll remind myself of that in a wetsuit.
- 39:00SPEAKER_06: Do you wear the sunnies as well?
- 39:01SPEAKER_01: I got a hat.
- 39:02SPEAKER_01: I got a dad hat.
- 39:03SPEAKER_06: You got a um a little like a legionnaire's cat with a little knives.
- 39:06SPEAKER_01: A little buckle on the front?
- 39:07SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I have one of those too.
- 39:08SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah.
- 39:09SPEAKER_06: Yeah, it's all about get up.
- 39:10SPEAKER_01: Hey, we're Australian son, you gotta be sensible.
- 39:12SPEAKER_06: How do you do with the sharks?
- 39:14SPEAKER_01: I just don't think about it to be a sharp.
- 39:16SPEAKER_06: One of those.
- 39:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I saw a shark in the surf about three months ago, the first time.
- 39:21SPEAKER_01: And I thought, I mean, I've seen them diving a lot, but I remember it clear as day because shark swam through the wave.
- 39:27SPEAKER_06: And I thought to myself while you were on the wave?
- 39:29SPEAKER_01: No, I was sitting on board.
- 39:31SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 39:31SPEAKER_01: And I thought to myself, oh, this is interesting.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: I wonder how I'll react.
- 39:34SPEAKER_01: And four seconds later, the wave stood up.
- 39:36SPEAKER_01: I turned around and paddled onto it and didn't think about it again for another hour.
- 39:39SPEAKER_06: Really?
- 39:40SPEAKER_06: Wow.
- 39:41SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I don't know if I could do that.
- 39:43SPEAKER_01: I'm all gristle.
- 39:44SPEAKER_01: They don't want me.
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: I'll be chewy.
- 39:46SPEAKER_06: Oh, I don't know if that's how they react.
- 39:52SPEAKER_06: Oh yeah.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: That's what I tell myself.
- 39:53SPEAKER_06: Yeah, nice.
- 39:54SPEAKER_06: I'm gonna tell mine I'm just I'm a bit too sh I'm a bones.
- 40:00SPEAKER_06: I'm too small for it for them.
- 40:01SPEAKER_06: It won't be a good meal.
- 40:05SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 40:06SPEAKER_01: Sounds like you're ever.
- 40:20SPEAKER_07: That's a wrap on this week's episode of Ladies Love Country.
