Transcript
- 0:00IP68 failed, dust killed the iphone duo's inner display. This is MAG 7 Daily, episode 33, a
- 0:07tear down, a government software rule, and a television app come next, and the weekend review closes
- 0:12the stretch. Jerry rig everything's Nelson watch dust enter the iphone duo hinge at several
- 0:17points and overwhelm the magnets that hold it shut, Mac rumors reports, a bend test then
- 0:23left a permanent green line across the inner display, and that screen stopped responding.
- 0:28The outer glass, ceramic shield 2, scratched at level 7 on the most scale.
- 0:34The inner panel only reached level 2, though a matte nano texture made the marks disappear.
- 0:40Nelson said he has tested folding phones since the first generation 7 years ago that most
- 0:46of them survive and that this one did not.
- 0:49Rewa technology and phone repair guru posted the first tear down videos of the same phone.
- 0:54Two cells come out on electrically activated adhesive.
- 0:57The larger cell is rated 2,962 milliamp hours, 11.56 watt hours.
- 1:05The smaller cell is 1,921 milliamp hours, 7.5 watt hours.
- 1:11Together that is 4,883 milliamp hours.
- 1:15Rewa's labeled board shows Apple's A20 Pro and a C2 cellular modem.
- 1:20Phone repair guru found the touch ID button can come out for repair and called that job difficult.
- 1:25The same video treats the USB-C port as fully modular.
- 1:30The duo is ESIM-only worldwide.
- 1:33Apple has published the repair manual, and IFixit is expected to post a fuller tear-down
- 1:37in the coming days.
- 1:39Sweden's government offices will block chat GPT and clawed on staff computers from Monday,
- 1:45October 26th, decrypt reports, citing Svergis radio.
- 1:49Civil servants are pointed to Microsoft co-pilot as the only approved assistant.
- 1:53McHale, wetter crants, the office's director of digitalization, wrote on the staff internet
- 1:59that AI services used without a formal contract can have consequences for information security.
- 2:05He cited both the sensitivity of what people typed in and how the generated answers were
- 2:10handled.
- 2:11Consumer tools without that contract send queries to outside company servers and US law can
- 2:17compel those companies to hand data over.
- 2:19However, co-pilot got through a review in which the offices raised its security settings.
- 2:24Chat GPT and Claw did not get the same treatment.
- 2:27Some employees can still reach both block tools through an internal platform the offices
- 2:32built.
- 2:32The press office has not said how many people that covers or what restrictions apply.
- 2:37The tax agency and the national board of institutional care have already banned consumer AI tools.
- 2:43The enforcement authority is preparing a decision of its own.
- 2:46A transport administration audit found roughly 10 AI services in use, in a widespread and
- 2:52risky way.
- 2:53In February, the European Parliament disabled chat GPT, Claude, and co-pilot on work
- 2:58devices.
- 3:00Microsoft folded Claude models into co-pilot in early 2026.
- 3:04In the EU, those anthropic models default to off unless an administrator turns them on.
- 3:10And the government offices have not confirmed whether Claude is switched on in their co-pilot.
- 3:14Google, in an InfoQ report, used Gemini 4 Argon to optimize the agent development kits Python
- 3:21codebase overnight. That codebase is 200,000 lines. Meta's AI commitments have surged to
- 3:28$825 billion. Digitimes reports. The piece treats that sum as a test of how the company
- 3:34finances the build. Microsoft Communications Chief Frank X Shaw is leaving at the end of
- 3:40year. Geekwire reports. The exit interview looks across nearly three decades, including
- 3:45his work for Bill Gates, Steve Balmer, and Satya Nadella. Mistakes he would handle differently.
- 3:51His dealings with top tech reporters and how communications is changing in the AI era.
- 3:57Two figures sit outside those stories. Amazon's Cloud Unit says its AI security agent fixes
- 4:0389% of bugs. The new stack reports. The information puts Meta's business with CoreWeave at 35 billion
- 4:11dollars. The dust failure does not describe the outer glass. MacRumor's account of Nelson's
- 4:16test still credits Ceramic Shield 2, which scratched only at Mo's level 7, and the inner nano texture,
- 4:23which made Mark's vanish. Those two results cut against reading the whole phone as soft.
- 4:28They do not clear it. The inner screen stopped at level 2. The bend left a permanent green line,
- 4:34and Nelson's verdict was that the duo did not survive. Instagram's television app is now on Apple
- 4:40TV. After tests on Amazon's Fire TV and on Google TV, an Apple's own metadata calls
- 4:46the build version 66.0. That metadata dates the build to October 23rd. The first day
- 4:53the app is on Apple's streaming box. An archived app store listing from October 19th
- 4:58still showed only iPhone and iPad. The app plays reels, longer videos and live shows.
- 5:04A viewer can watch creators they follow, discover videos, and pick up a video on another device.
- 5:10Instagram describes it as a way to watch with friends and family, so a phone feed moves
- 5:15onto a screen or room shares.
- 5:17The television job did not start on Apple hardware.
- 5:20Instagram began testing on Amazon Fire TV devices in the United States in December 2025.
- 5:26It expanded to Google TV in February 2026, and to Samsung Smart TVs in June.
- 5:32The first version sorted reels into channels by a viewer's interest and played the next
- 5:37clip on its own.
- 5:38That same June, Meta said it would go past short video toward longer creator pieces, episodic
- 5:44series, and live broadcasts.
- 5:46The Apple TV listing names longer videos and live shows next to Reels, so the June outline
- 5:51is what reached Apple Store.
- 5:53This follows Instagram's iPad app which arrived in September 2025 after years of requests for
- 5:59a tablet layout.
- 6:00The Television app needs TVOS 26.0 or later, and it is on the Apple TV App Store.
- 6:074. Meta reaches that box only if Apple lists the app, and only on that operating system
- 6:12floor.
- 6:13Apple's streaming device now carries Meta's catalog beside the show's Apple cells
- 6:17under its own TV name.
- 6:19A clip started on an iPhone can continue on the Apple TV, so Meta's account and Apple's
- 6:24screen share one session.
- 6:26December 2025 was the Fire TV test.
- 6:29February 2026 was Google TV.
- 6:32June was Samsung, and June was when Meta said the product would leave short video behind.
- 6:369. October 19 is the last listing in today's record that still stopped at phone and tablet.
- 6:42October 23 is version 66.0 on Apple TV.
- 6:47September 2025 remains the tablet step that came first on Apple's own hardware.
- 6:52The past seven days before this desk ran through a tighter set of moves than a single Sunday
- 6:56can hold.
- 6:58On October 19, Google's four Gemini agents wrote 2,783 programs and beat Minecraft on their
- 7:05own.
- 7:05On October 20th, Amazon put a 16 billion Euro 2027 Germany spend on data centers, satellites,
- 7:13and video.
- 7:14On October 21st, the claim was that 14 days, not 6 months, gets an Nvidia AI factory
- 7:20into production.
- 7:21From March 20th, 2027, Apple has to open Australian iPhones to rival app stores.
- 7:26And by October 23rd, only one iPhone had iOS 27.1, with every other model skipping to 27.2.
- 7:35Yesterday, Amazon's cloud was described as largely sold out through 2027, which pins AI
- 7:41labs to capacity already booked.
- 7:43Before we go, Monday is the cutoff on those government machines.
