- 0:47Speaker 1: Welcome to today's edition of Reflection on the Word with
- 0:50Speaker 1: Richard K. I'm Chuck Christie, and today we are asking
- 0:54Speaker 1: you to spend a few moments of your time with
- 0:56Speaker 1: us each day as Richard shares from God's work with notes, quotes,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and stores, along with some of his own personal experiences,
- 1:02Speaker 1: to confirm for you God's great love for us, that
- 1:05Speaker 1: his compassion for us never fails, and that He has
- 1:08Speaker 1: a great faithfulness toward us in every regard. In Lamentations,
- 1:12Speaker 1: Chapter three, verses twenty two and twenty three, we read,
- 1:16Speaker 1: because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed,
- 1:20Speaker 1: for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Great is your faithfulness. Now, if you miss a portion
- 1:27Speaker 1: of today's broadcast or would like to recommend it to
- 1:29Speaker 1: a friend, you can hear this program anytime online at
- 1:33Speaker 1: Talknetwork Radio dot com. Well, now here's Richard with today's reflection.
- 1:40Speaker 2: And there shall be signs in the sun, and in
- 1:44Speaker 2: the moon, and in the stars, and upon the earth,
- 1:47Speaker 2: distressive nations with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring
- 1:54Speaker 2: men's hearts, failing them for fear and for looking after
- 1:58Speaker 2: those things which are come on the earth. For the
- 2:02Speaker 2: powers of Heaven shall be shaken Luke twenty one Versus
- 2:07Speaker 2: twenty five and twenty six, taken from the King James
- 2:12Speaker 2: version of the Bible. Today we begin the first segment
- 2:20Speaker 2: of our series, War and Victory, the Christian Fight of Faith.
- 2:28Speaker 2: To begin with, we want to understand why we fight.
- 2:35Speaker 2: The question has to be answered in order to determine
- 2:41Speaker 2: are we supposed to fight? If we are, then how
- 2:47Speaker 2: do we fight? So first, let's determine the condition that
- 2:52Speaker 2: we live in today. Not very much different from many
- 2:59Speaker 2: times when the world was in constant up evil, but
- 3:05Speaker 2: today's condition, our world seems to be in turmoil. There's
- 3:11Speaker 2: tremendous perplexity in our government and the governments of all nations.
- 3:17Speaker 2: And you know, the most knowledgeable politicians deliberate world conditions constantly.
- 3:24Speaker 2: The finest minds, greatest scientists, and learned philosophers are trying
- 3:30Speaker 2: to find the answers to the world's problems. Now, these
- 3:34Speaker 2: problems plague the very core of our lives and threaten
- 3:39Speaker 2: mankind with destruction. According to many scientists, we are running
- 3:45Speaker 2: out of our resources, food, water, air, energy. All of
- 3:51Speaker 2: these things are either being abused or misused. Every day.
- 3:59Speaker 2: We hear about an new threat to our health. Fear
- 4:03Speaker 2: of many dreaded diseases is rampant. We are experiencing problems
- 4:09Speaker 2: in epidemic proportion. It is as though some unseen arch
- 4:16Speaker 2: enemy has waged this increasing scale of conflict. As we
- 4:22Speaker 2: read the Bible speaks of times of peril when men's
- 4:26Speaker 2: hearts will fail due to fear of world conditions. Mankind
- 4:33Speaker 2: has contributed to the crisis simply through the lack of
- 4:37Speaker 2: knowledge and improper planning, perhaps causing even more waste for neglect.
- 4:45Speaker 2: We need to know if we're going to determine what
- 4:50Speaker 2: we do in this fight. We have to know whose
- 4:58Speaker 2: side we're on. Now. I have to ask this question
- 5:03Speaker 2: because I can't assume anything. I'm actually asking for my listeners.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Are you a Christian? Simply? Have you made Jesus Christ
- 5:16Speaker 2: your Lord and savior? Now? If you are not sure,
- 5:22Speaker 2: or if you have reservations about this, the most important
- 5:27Speaker 2: of all of your life's decisions, then let's stop for
- 5:33Speaker 2: just a moment and reason together. What I want to
- 5:39Speaker 2: do is ask a few questions, and then also we
- 5:45Speaker 2: want to be able to point out scriptures that will
- 5:50Speaker 2: help us know that we're making the right choice. Now
- 5:58Speaker 2: is the time to choose. Is the right side. The
- 6:03Speaker 2: following scriptures will help you make the right choice. Please listen.
- 6:10Speaker 2: We're familiar with John three point sixteen. For God so
- 6:14Speaker 2: loved the world that he gave his only begotten son,
- 6:18Speaker 2: that whoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
- 6:23Speaker 2: everlasting life. Friend, you and I are the whosoever now.
- 6:32Speaker 2: John ten ten says, the thief cometh not but for
- 6:37Speaker 2: to steal and to kill, and to destroy. I am
- 6:41Speaker 2: come that they might have life, and that they might
- 6:45Speaker 2: have it more abundantly. You and I are they. Romans
- 6:52Speaker 2: three twenty three states that for all have sinned and
- 6:56Speaker 2: comes short of the glory of God, so we are
- 6:59Speaker 2: all sinners, and Romans six point twenty three says the
- 7:05Speaker 2: wages of sin is death, but the gift of God
- 7:09Speaker 2: is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord. You see, friends,
- 7:15Speaker 2: we deserve death as payment or the wages for our sin.
- 7:22Speaker 2: But God's gift to us is eternal life through Jesus Christ.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Ephesians two and verses eight and nine state, for by
- 7:34Speaker 2: grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves.
- 7:40Speaker 2: It is the gift of God. Not of works, lest
- 7:44Speaker 2: any man should boast. You know, good works can't save us,
- 7:50Speaker 2: only God's gift of his son Jesus Christ. What must
- 7:57Speaker 2: we do simply ex God's gift. You might say that's
- 8:03Speaker 2: too easy, or there's got to be some catch. No,
- 8:09Speaker 2: read with me the next scripture in Romans verses ten
- 8:15Speaker 2: or nine and ten of chapter ten, that if thou
- 8:20Speaker 2: shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe
- 8:25Speaker 2: in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
- 8:29Speaker 2: thou shalt be saved. For with the heart, man believeth
- 8:34Speaker 2: unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Believe that Jesus died for your sin and that he
- 8:46Speaker 2: was resurrected or raised from the dead. Then confess or
- 8:51Speaker 2: say that, and the Bible clearly states you will be saved.
- 8:57Speaker 2: You will have eternal life. You are from that time
- 9:02Speaker 2: forever more on the right side. You've made the right choice.
- 9:11Speaker 2: You can simply pray this prayer out loud. All you've
- 9:16Speaker 2: got to do is recognize it's your condition that Jesus
- 9:23Speaker 2: died for. Say this prayer with me. God. I know
- 9:30Speaker 2: I am a sinner in need your forgiveness. I believe
- 9:34Speaker 2: your son, Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary
- 9:38Speaker 2: as payment for my sins. I believe that you raised
- 9:42Speaker 2: him from the dead to give me eternal life, and
- 9:47Speaker 2: I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Now, friend,
- 9:55Speaker 2: you may not feel a difference, but God is not
- 9:58Speaker 2: a liar, and by your active confession, you have received
- 10:05Speaker 2: God's gift. Trust him now to lead you and guide you.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Study the Bible, God's holy work. Start with the Gospel
- 10:16Speaker 2: of John, tell others about your experience, and read the
- 10:22Speaker 2: scriptures that follow.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Richard will be right back in a moment to wrap up.
- 10:29Speaker 1: But if you've just joined us you've been listening to
- 10:31Speaker 1: Reflections on the Word with Richard k. You can hear
- 10:34Speaker 1: this message in its entirety again online as well as

- 10:45Speaker 1: faithuess from the America's twenty five Favorite Hymns album unless otherwise.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Express scriptures are read from the Holman Christian Standard Bible,
- 10:54Speaker 1: which is published by homand Bible Publishers in Nashville, Tennessee.

- 11:02Speaker 1: k include Great is Thy faithfulness, by our daily breadth
- 11:06Speaker 1: and printed by Discovery House Publishers. Again here is Richard
- 11:10Speaker 1: to wrap up today's message.
- 11:13Speaker 2: This scripture gives you assurance First John, chapter five and
- 11:20Speaker 2: verses nine through twelve. If we receive the witness of men,
- 11:25Speaker 2: the witness of God is greater. For this is the
- 11:29Speaker 2: witness of God, which He hath testified of his son.
- 11:36Speaker 2: He that believeth on the Son of God hath the
- 11:41Speaker 2: witness in himself. He that believeth not God hath made
- 11:47Speaker 2: him a liar, because he believeth not the record that
- 11:52Speaker 2: God gave his son. And this is the record that
- 11:56Speaker 2: God hath given to us eternal life. And this life
- 12:01Speaker 2: is in his son. He that hath the Son hath life.
- 12:05Speaker 2: He that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
- 12:11Speaker 2: This is the passage that will give you the knowledge
- 12:17Speaker 2: that you have eternal life. First John, chapter five and
- 12:22Speaker 2: verse thirteen. These things have I written unto you that
- 12:28Speaker 2: believe on the name of the Son of God, that
- 12:31Speaker 2: you may know that you have eternal life, and that
- 12:36Speaker 2: you may believe on the name of the Son of God.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Remember it's not our feeling, but our faith in God
- 12:47Speaker 2: and his record of his son Jesus Christ as his
- 12:50Speaker 2: gift to us. That is our assurance. There's a songwriter
- 12:56Speaker 2: that has written blessed assurance, Jesus is Mine, and that
- 13:04Speaker 2: is today's Reflection on the Word.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Thank you, Richard. Join us again tomorrow when we continue
- 13:12Speaker 1: with the next edition of Reflections on the Word with
- 13:15Speaker 1: Richard k or Richard on the entire team. This is
- 13:18Speaker 1: Chuck Christie saying thanks for listening to this edition of
- 13:21Speaker 1: Reflections on the Word.
