- 0:40Speaker 3: You were telling me that you got up at one
- 0:42Speaker 3: this morning to train. Can you tell us about that
- 0:44Speaker 3: before we get into our conversation.
- 0:45Speaker 2: What was that about?
- 0:47Speaker 4: Just after talker too and I'm just trying to get
- 0:51Speaker 4: some different angles on my legs and you know, he'lls
- 0:54Speaker 4: make you stronger, and just like opportunity to wake up
- 0:58Speaker 4: in the morning and praise the Lord and pray and
- 1:00Speaker 4: just do something a little bit different.
- 1:02Speaker 2: So why one in the morning, I mean, that's awesome.
- 1:06Speaker 2: But why one in the morning.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Well, I had to be at work at three am,
- 1:09Speaker 4: so I knew that I wake up at you know,
- 1:12Speaker 4: twelve thirty to get to Conway, you know, at one am,
- 1:16Speaker 4: to do some hills and then hit the gym up
- 1:20Speaker 4: before three AM before I to go to work.
- 1:22Speaker 3: So, dude, that is dedication to anybody listening. If you're like, oh,
- 1:25Speaker 3: I go into work early, shut up, like you can
- 1:28Speaker 3: still get up and you can still train. I promise
- 1:31Speaker 3: you're not getting up at one High five to you, brother,
- 1:34Speaker 3: appreciate that.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I want to you.
- 1:36Speaker 3: You dropped it just now, and I feel like this
- 1:39Speaker 3: conversation is gonna be powerful. We're gonna be talking about
- 1:42Speaker 3: a prag Ninja Warrior Foundation, We're gonna be talking about
- 1:44Speaker 3: a really cool upcoming event. We're going to be talking
- 1:47Speaker 3: about the awesome things that God's doing through the Prag
- 1:51Speaker 3: Ninja Warrior Foundation, and really prayer itself. It's an amazing topic.
- 1:55Speaker 3: But before we get into those things, you just said
- 1:58Speaker 3: before the Tahoe to hundred and you said that, You
- 2:02Speaker 3: said that as if like that's a normal thing, And I,
- 2:05Speaker 3: first of all, what is the Tahoe two hundred? You
- 2:08Speaker 3: just finished this thing. What is the Tahoe two hundred?
- 2:10Speaker 3: So the listeners understand what just happened in your life?
- 2:13Speaker 4: Well, it's uh, it's it's two hundred miles, it's not
- 2:16Speaker 4: one hundred, so it's double crazy. It was. It was
- 2:21Speaker 4: a very very very uh different process of my life
- 2:27Speaker 4: and journey that that I didn't know that would happen
- 2:31Speaker 4: this soon. I did twenty twenty three, I did one
- 2:35Speaker 4: hundred miles, or I saw a traveler and work into that.
- 2:39Speaker 4: You know, it was a lot of different things. A
- 2:41Speaker 4: couple years before I did, I did a potential to
- 2:46Speaker 4: try to do one hundred miles by myself twenty four
- 2:48Speaker 4: hours of prayer and run for twenty four hours, and
- 2:51Speaker 4: we and we prayed for the ministry. And I was
- 2:54Speaker 4: going to try to run twenty four hours. That was
- 2:57Speaker 4: in twenty one, twenty two, and I made it sixty
- 3:03Speaker 4: three one time, and then seventy three the other Wow,
- 3:06Speaker 4: and then and then I was like, well, I need
- 3:09Speaker 4: something to organize, something set up. But I learned a
- 3:13Speaker 4: lot from twenty one twenty two and then going into
- 3:16Speaker 4: twenty three for the Arkstall Traveler one hundred and a
- 3:20Speaker 4: whole meaning behind the running was the Ministry of Printage
- 3:24Speaker 4: Warror Foundation, you know, running for kids with cancer, you know,
- 3:27Speaker 4: running the kids with diseases, running kids with autism. A
- 3:31Speaker 4: very very big spectrum of what prenancial Warror is. We'll
- 3:34Speaker 4: get it that little later, but it's very deep. You know.
- 3:38Speaker 4: When we go out there, we set up you know,
- 3:40Speaker 4: where people could pray for an hour, and people could
- 3:45Speaker 4: pray for ten minutes, you know, while I'm running, and
- 3:48Speaker 4: we just kind of worked work strated that way. So
- 3:50Speaker 4: that was kind of the twenty one twenty two big
- 3:53Speaker 4: thing was like pray for twenty four hours and the
- 3:55Speaker 4: arkstyle travelers a little organized, but I still had twenty
- 3:58Speaker 4: four hours of prayer. I didn't know. I thought it
- 4:00Speaker 4: would take me a little bit longer than twenty four
- 4:02Speaker 4: hours for the one hundred miles, but you know, I
- 4:05Speaker 4: was like, okay, But everything you learn stuff in life
- 4:09Speaker 4: through the process nutrition and you know, training plans and
- 4:15Speaker 4: people that come in your life to kind of kind
- 4:17Speaker 4: of guide you a little bit. And I didn't have
- 4:19Speaker 4: a lot of guiding back then in twenty twenty two,
- 4:21Speaker 4: but twenty three I had had had people that was
- 4:25Speaker 4: with one to come along and pace me, and they
- 4:28Speaker 4: understand the cause, they understand the prayer, and I had
- 4:32Speaker 4: twenty four I had twenty four people set up to pray,
- 4:34Speaker 4: and I had four extra at the end just touse
- 4:37Speaker 4: it may take me twenty eight and it did take
- 4:39Speaker 4: me twenty eight hours to finish one hundred miles. So
- 4:44Speaker 4: started that race really well. The training was really awesome.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Throughout the race. About mile forty it kind of shut down,
- 4:53Speaker 4: so I knew I was at a certain point in
- 4:56Speaker 4: my training where I just basically walk from forty well
- 5:00Speaker 4: fifty five to one hundred and I made it across
- 5:04Speaker 4: the finish line am in. But the prayers set up
- 5:08Speaker 4: and the people following the journey was absolutely astonishing for
- 5:12Speaker 4: that race, and it was it was really cool just
- 5:14Speaker 4: to kind of see, you know, like Lori Lafferty, she
- 5:18Speaker 4: always prays first and kind of hear her story. Her
- 5:22Speaker 4: daughter Madeline passed away with cancer, and she had a
- 5:26Speaker 4: really unique story during that because the previous year she
- 5:30Speaker 4: prayed the first time during the first hour of twenty
- 5:37Speaker 4: two and twenty three in between that her daughter passed away,
- 5:41Speaker 4: and in the ministry of Pretty word was hard because
- 5:45Speaker 4: these kids die of cancer and it affects the family greatly,
- 5:50Speaker 4: so that in that process of me setting her up
- 5:54Speaker 4: for the first prayer person because she prayed with me before,
- 5:58Speaker 4: and I remember her prayers in twenty twenty two, you know,
- 6:02Speaker 4: and she she called me that day and we pray
- 6:05Speaker 4: with She prayed with me, and she said, I'm like,
- 6:08Speaker 4: you know, I'm there, I'm your errand I'm lifting your
- 6:12Speaker 4: arms up as you continue to praise the Lord and
- 6:15Speaker 4: glorify him and and and and finishes finish this race.
- 6:19Speaker 4: And but twenty three is a little different because I
- 6:21Speaker 4: never contacted her, but I put her in in that
- 6:24Speaker 4: position to pray. But uh, months later I contacted her
- 6:30Speaker 4: finally and she talked to me because she lost her daughter.
- 6:32Speaker 4: I was giving her some space and uh, I said, uh, hey,
- 6:36Speaker 4: how you doing. And she finally contacted back and she said, well,
- 6:39Speaker 4: I just want this is pretty deep right here. This
- 6:41Speaker 4: is the ministry that we're in, she said, She said,
- 6:46Speaker 4: you sent the you sent the schedule to pray on Friday.
- 6:51Speaker 4: I sent specific like what we're praying for, and you know,
- 6:54Speaker 4: God be the glory, you know, praying for the ministry,
- 6:56Speaker 4: a praise the warrior, specific things we're praying for that
- 7:00Speaker 4: on that day. But I didn't know she was going
- 7:01Speaker 4: through all this. I know she's gone through a lot,
- 7:04Speaker 4: but she said on Friday, when she she got the
- 7:09Speaker 4: schedule to pray, she she planned to take her life
- 7:13Speaker 4: that night. So and she decided to flush the pills
- 7:20Speaker 4: and all that stuff. And she told me this two
- 7:22Speaker 4: months after the race. Wow. So so it was just
- 7:26Speaker 4: it was just God be the glory, just the opportunity
- 7:30Speaker 4: for me to reach out at that point in time
- 7:31Speaker 4: for that. So a lot of amazing stories like that.
- 7:36Speaker 4: But I did that race and then twenty three, like
- 7:40Speaker 4: I said, I finished, I was very very I injured
- 7:44Speaker 4: myself and just a lot of different things that happened
- 7:47Speaker 4: with that that race, particularly because I mean it was
- 7:51Speaker 4: just like it was cool because he had had a
- 7:53Speaker 4: lot of support, but it really shut me down for
- 7:56Speaker 4: three months afterwards.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Well, you said, you said you you had from fifty
- 8:01Speaker 3: five ish to the end, so it sounds like something
- 8:04Speaker 3: happened that kept you from running.
- 8:05Speaker 2: What happened?
- 8:06Speaker 4: I mean, my legs in general were like like pretty
- 8:09Speaker 4: much rubbery, and I mean that lack that asked to
- 8:14Speaker 4: build up or what do you want to call it
- 8:17Speaker 4: in my legs are just like it just like I
- 8:19Speaker 4: could walk, but running was not an option, and I
- 8:22Speaker 4: knew it was. At some point I was walking fine,
- 8:26Speaker 4: and I was going at a good pace, and I
- 8:28Speaker 4: had a pacer there kind of talking me in all
- 8:31Speaker 4: the way through. It's good to have people in your
- 8:33Speaker 4: life that encourage you and motivate you and guide you
- 8:37Speaker 4: in the right direction. And that's that's the purpose of race,
- 8:40Speaker 4: you know, purpose of life. You know, trying to make
- 8:43Speaker 4: it to the finish line with Christ obviously, but people
- 8:47Speaker 4: in your life come in there, and just so he
- 8:50Speaker 4: plugged in, and then the little Alan Stone plugged in,
- 8:54Speaker 4: and then Nickey Meeks plugged in the last fifteen and
- 8:57Speaker 4: we made the visial praise the Lord and uh so
- 9:02Speaker 4: so so twenty four was was like, you know, thinking
- 9:05Speaker 4: like what to do next and so like that that helped.
- 9:08Speaker 4: I helped a lot of people. I suppo as I
- 9:11Speaker 4: started run club in Greenbrier. You know that's available to
- 9:13Speaker 4: anybody in Green Brier. It's we started a group and
- 9:17Speaker 4: we got pretty six or seven, pretty faithful people running
- 9:20Speaker 4: the group. One person, Amanda, decides she was a run
- 9:23Speaker 4: a marathon. I got to help her finish her first
- 9:26Speaker 4: marathon and she doubted herself so much to get in
- 9:29Speaker 4: that race, and and and she did it, you know,
- 9:32Speaker 4: and in our runs we would run and in midpoint
- 9:36Speaker 4: we would pray, you know, and and that prayer helped
- 9:39Speaker 4: her life turn around, for her to follow the Lord
- 9:42Speaker 4: more as well. Amazing, She's got an amazing story, Amanda,
- 9:48Speaker 4: and love her some, Amanda Rooney. She's been such a
- 9:52Speaker 4: beacon light in my life. But at some point we
- 9:55Speaker 4: need people in our lives to guide us in that
- 9:57Speaker 4: right direction. And I didn't even know, you know, I said,
- 10:00Speaker 4: you know, I said, we useduld pray, you know, halfway,
- 10:03Speaker 4: and we're going to run back. And as you said,
- 10:05Speaker 4: I'm gonna pray while we run, and prayed that prayer,
- 10:08Speaker 4: and her life completely turned around. She lost her brother.
- 10:12Speaker 4: You just don't know things in people's lives, and you know,
- 10:15Speaker 4: running helps that, you know, for me to help other people.
- 10:19Speaker 4: So she did. And then and then bj Herndon he
- 10:23Speaker 4: did the Arksaw Traveler one hundred and twenty four and
- 10:28Speaker 4: I got to pace him for forty miles. Sixty on
- 10:31Speaker 4: felt a lot better than my hundred, but he it
- 10:36Speaker 4: was a hot, hot day. My hundred was cool. His
- 10:40Speaker 4: hundred was really really really hot. So but he finished
- 10:44Speaker 4: just just over twenty four hours, almost twenty to twenty
- 10:46Speaker 4: four hours. He did really amazing. So so twenty four
- 10:50Speaker 4: was a twenty three was a good you know, help people,
- 10:53Speaker 4: you know, finish the races year for me in general,
- 10:56Speaker 4: and this guide people and direct people in the run
- 10:59Speaker 4: club and some about that. So so yeah, twenty four
- 11:03Speaker 4: came and man, so June of twenty three it came
- 11:12Speaker 4: up for Tahoe two hundred. It's like two hundred miles,
- 11:17Speaker 4: that's crazy, but it's in Tahoe. I could convince my
- 11:21Speaker 4: wife probably to go to Tahoe because we've been there
- 11:24Speaker 4: twice before and she loves Tahoe. So I was like,
- 11:28Speaker 4: that's a good race for that. But then June thirteenth
- 11:34Speaker 4: is the date for Tahoe two hundred and for twenty
- 11:38Speaker 4: twenty four, and June thirteenth is the anniversary or Praying
- 11:43Speaker 4: Injin Warrior, so so Praying Nja Warriors started on June thirteenth.
- 11:48Speaker 4: At six thirteen am, I was trained for a spartan race,
- 11:51Speaker 4: unmotivated to work out, and I sat there in the
- 11:56Speaker 4: parking lot. I looked at a picture a little a
- 11:59Speaker 4: little groom nat little girl named Emily Airs and she
- 12:03Speaker 4: had leukemia, and I said, I'm gonna start praying for
- 12:05Speaker 4: this girl right now. I'm gonna color mosuar. She's me
- 12:08Speaker 4: by motivation. And it turned into a foundation from twenty
- 12:15Speaker 4: sixteen to twenty twenty oh one, in twenty five, aren't we?
- 12:21Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:22Speaker 4: Yeah, one in twenty five? What am I talking about?
- 12:24Speaker 2: So two hundred mouse is a long way?
- 12:27Speaker 4: Yea twenty twenty four, the decision for to do it
- 12:32Speaker 4: for twenty twenty five?
- 12:33Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, so yeah, yeah, So so the it just
- 12:37Speaker 3: so happened that that the Praying Ninja Warrior Foundation date
- 12:43Speaker 3: in twenty twenty five, it's anniversary date was the same
- 12:46Speaker 3: as the anniversary date that started in twenty sixteen.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Is that correct?
- 12:50Speaker 4: Yes, sir?
- 12:50Speaker 3: Okay, all right, So I want to I want to
- 12:52Speaker 3: dig into the Tahoe two hundred a little bit before
- 12:54Speaker 3: we get into what the what the found, how the
- 12:57Speaker 3: foundation started?
- 12:58Speaker 2: What I mean you started? You kind of that described
- 13:00Speaker 2: it just now.
- 13:01Speaker 3: But but dude, I'm going to say this because as
- 13:07Speaker 3: a listener or watcher right now, I don't I don't
- 13:11Speaker 3: want any eyes to glaze over because you are describing
- 13:15Speaker 3: running one hundred miles as if it's normal, like as
- 13:19Speaker 3: if it's just like a thing that people do sometimes.
- 13:22Speaker 2: You know, Hey, I was I was pacing people for
- 13:24Speaker 2: a marathon. That is great. You know my one hundred
- 13:26Speaker 2: was cold. His one hundred was hot.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Like you're talking about this, But but I want people
- 13:30Speaker 3: to understand what when Nick says my one hundred, he
- 13:33Speaker 3: means that he has committed to a one hundred mile
- 13:36Speaker 3: race and then completed said race come hell or high water.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Literally it body mind spirit, like I'm going, I'm going
- 13:43Speaker 3: to do this thing. And and as I understand it,
- 13:46Speaker 3: you're not doing it for the purpose of seeing whether
- 13:49Speaker 3: or not you can do it, which I imagine is
- 13:50Speaker 3: part of the discovery process. But you're doing it because
- 13:53Speaker 3: you have you have a very deep part for prayer.
- 13:56Speaker 3: You're you're holding space for the things that you feel
- 14:00Speaker 3: God has has laid in your life to pray for
- 14:03Speaker 3: it specifically, it sounds like sick children and their families,
- 14:07Speaker 3: and you're also making space for individuals to support you
- 14:11Speaker 3: through prayer during the duration of whatever said race that
- 14:15Speaker 3: you're doing.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Do I have that right?
- 14:18Speaker 4: It's pretty spot on. Brother.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Okay, Okay, So to the listeners and watchers, if you
- 14:23Speaker 3: glazed over at any point in the last twelve twelve minutes.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I need you to go back, and I need you
- 14:27Speaker 3: to listen, and I need you to understand that that
- 14:29Speaker 3: Nick is not talking about like walking one hundred miles
- 14:33Speaker 3: over five days.
- 14:34Speaker 2: He's not talking.
- 14:34Speaker 3: About like some hoorah marathon thing that people I'm sure
- 14:41Speaker 3: some people do whatever, but that's not the driving impetus
- 14:44Speaker 3: for what Nicks up to and in describing for us
- 14:49Speaker 3: how he got to this place where he's going to
- 14:51Speaker 3: run two hundred miles and you've done it June thirteenth,
- 14:54Speaker 3: that was at the time of this recording.
- 14:55Speaker 2: That was a month ago.
- 14:58Speaker 3: That he got it in his mind and heart and
- 15:01Speaker 3: in a spirit that I'm going to complete a two
- 15:03Speaker 3: hundred mile race for the same purpose that I completed
- 15:06Speaker 3: one hundred mile race in the past. So that's where
- 15:10Speaker 3: we're standing right now, two hundred miles. I can't I
- 15:13Speaker 3: have a hard time convincing my wife that the death
- 15:16Speaker 3: by five k is a fine idea. You and I
- 15:19Speaker 3: met there by the way, that's where you and I
- 15:21Speaker 3: first got to high five, shake hands stuff. And so
- 15:24Speaker 3: I'm with a group of guys for the listeners who
- 15:27Speaker 3: didn't know. I participated death by five k. Interestingly, in
- 15:30Speaker 3: the same spirit I had. Every five k was dedicated
- 15:33Speaker 3: to a purpose of prayer in the community that I
- 15:36Speaker 3: was a part of it. I invited people to be
- 15:37Speaker 3: a part of it because I believe in the power prayer,
- 15:39Speaker 3: and I pray a lot when I run, Like the
- 15:42Speaker 3: majority of the time that I pray is when i'm running,
- 15:44Speaker 3: so that I'm doing this thing. And then Nick comes
- 15:49Speaker 3: and you know, for me, thirty miles is a long way.
- 15:53Speaker 3: We're running ten five k's, which is about thirty miles,
- 15:56Speaker 3: and I'm hearing from him about his one hundred minds
- 16:00Speaker 3: and that there's a two hundred mile coming in his future.
- 16:02Speaker 3: And I'm thinking, like, that's absolutely insane. Like no offense, buddy,
- 16:09Speaker 3: but that's absolutely insane. So how do you convince your
- 16:12Speaker 3: wife that you're going to go to Tahoe with her
- 16:16Speaker 3: and run two hundred miles and that that's gonna be
- 16:19Speaker 3: okay and that that's good.
- 16:20Speaker 2: I'd love to I'd love to hear that.
- 16:23Speaker 4: She was afraid I was gonna die. I mean literally,
- 16:25Speaker 4: she you know, she worries about me, you know, out
- 16:29Speaker 4: of these big runs, and you know, because I mean
- 16:32Speaker 4: Arksaw Traveler to Tahoe elevation wise is twenty thousand more elevation.
- 16:38Speaker 4: You know, it's in you know, very very dry, no humidity,
- 16:43Speaker 4: which is great, but it's just an environment that I
- 16:45Speaker 4: don't know, it's going to be very different. It's gonna
- 16:49Speaker 4: be twenty eight hours a hundred, it's going to be
- 16:52Speaker 4: around eighty eighty three to you know, ninety five hours.
- 16:56Speaker 4: That was my schedule plan to do.
- 16:59Speaker 2: It's like that, right, it's about four days.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean yeah. So so as you know,
- 17:07Speaker 4: I prayed before I talked to her because I wanted
- 17:09Speaker 4: her to feel comfortable doing this, because you know, this
- 17:11Speaker 4: is she's gonna go. She's gonna she's gonna be there
- 17:14Speaker 4: with me, she's gonna pace me, my my two kids,
- 17:19Speaker 4: Parker twenty three, Mackenzie twenty two, fixing the me this month.
- 17:23Speaker 4: You know, they helped out. Had Parker just set up
- 17:27Speaker 4: to pace me a little bit in the race.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Is just your thing and there on board, it's yeah,
- 17:32Speaker 3: it's a family, it's a family endeavor.
- 17:35Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely. And then and then I'm like, I've got
- 17:37Speaker 4: to take people with me besides myself and and Bjay,
- 17:40Speaker 4: which he said, if I get into Tahoe two hundred,
- 17:44Speaker 4: which is a lottery pick to get into pick, you
- 17:46Speaker 4: actually got to be picked from a lottery.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Are you serious?
- 17:50Speaker 4: Yes? So so so June, so June of twenty four,
- 17:56Speaker 4: you sign up and then they lottery pick you, and
- 17:59Speaker 4: Nick up Chill's name got picked to get into the race.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I was like, how many how many people get to
- 18:05Speaker 2: run this race?
- 18:06Speaker 4: Three hundred people get to get selected, and so my
- 18:12Speaker 4: name got picked, and I'm like okay. And then and
- 18:14Speaker 4: then you pay for the race. I don't know what
- 18:16Speaker 4: to say. How much it costs to get into the race?
- 18:19Speaker 4: Six sixteen, sixteen hundred dollars to get into the race.
- 18:23Speaker 4: But and then the travel expenses are fi stuff like that.
- 18:26Speaker 4: But that's crazy at itself. But then you're about to
- 18:30Speaker 4: go go run two miles that potentially you might not
- 18:33Speaker 4: finish because because last year's twenty fours it was fifty
- 18:37Speaker 4: to fifty one hundred and fifty people one hundred and
- 18:39Speaker 4: fifty finished, undred fifty. That's a pretty big gap.
- 18:43Speaker 2: That's a huge gap.
- 18:45Speaker 4: So so my mind, obviously I started in prayer of like,
- 18:49Speaker 4: so I convinced my wife Tahoe's a great place. She
- 18:54Speaker 4: loves Tahoe. So but then I'm at the look, I
- 18:57Speaker 4: got to figure out how to train from from June
- 19:00Speaker 4: twenty four to June twenty.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Five, you have a year to get ready to run
- 19:04Speaker 2: two hundred miles.
- 19:05Speaker 4: So and you know, I learned a lot in the past,
- 19:09Speaker 4: from nutrition, to training plans, to this and that. But
- 19:14Speaker 4: I met a guy through Facebook named Wes Ritner. He's
- 19:17Speaker 4: done so this is gonna blow people's minds. He's won,
- 19:21Speaker 4: He's ran twenty two hundred mile runs. He's fifty eight
- 19:24Speaker 4: years old. Met on Facebook, we connected, We did a
- 19:28Speaker 4: little face call kind of like this, and he said, well, like, well,
- 19:31Speaker 4: what are you gonna do? How you gonna do this?
- 19:32Speaker 4: I said, I don't know. I'm gonna run two of miles.
- 19:35Speaker 2: I didn't even want to tell me.
- 19:37Speaker 4: So he he was a god sent to come in
- 19:43Speaker 4: my life and basically basically send me everything that I
- 19:48Speaker 4: needed to complete two hundred miles. Could I probably could
- 19:54Speaker 4: have came up with a plan and a structure for
- 19:57Speaker 4: the journey. Yes, I could pray and all that stuff
- 20:00Speaker 4: and get people set up to go. But he orchestrated
- 20:05Speaker 4: something that that I didn't know because the hill strides
- 20:09Speaker 4: and and the tempo runs and just this, the in this,
- 20:13Speaker 4: the schedule in itself was perfectly aligned to train my
- 20:18Speaker 4: body to be able to get to elevation and the
- 20:21Speaker 4: altitude and the things that was going to come about.
- 20:23Speaker 4: He told me everything that was going to come well.
- 20:26Speaker 3: So there's I don't I don't mean to interrupt your
- 20:28Speaker 3: story because I want to. I want to start right
- 20:30Speaker 3: back there. But what came through my heart just just
- 20:33Speaker 3: now is a biblical principle. And this there's a in
- 20:37Speaker 3: in kings. There is a passing of the mantle of profits,
- 20:42Speaker 3: so to speak, from Elijah to Elisha, and and there
- 20:46Speaker 3: is you know, Elijah goes through his his showdown with
- 20:49Speaker 3: with Ahab and Jezebel.
- 20:51Speaker 2: He he uh.
- 20:54Speaker 3: I actually talk about it in the devotional that I'm publishing.
- 20:56Speaker 3: Sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is a
- 20:58Speaker 3: snack and a nap, you know. He's he goes through
- 21:00Speaker 3: a showdown, He's he wants to die under the bush,
- 21:04Speaker 3: and and God's like, no, I'll send you an angel.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Here's some bread, take a nap, you know. And then
- 21:08Speaker 3: and then he goes to the mountain. He goes through
- 21:10Speaker 3: all this stuff. But then he meets a young man
- 21:14Speaker 3: named Elisha, and and throughout his trials, one of the
- 21:18Speaker 3: things that Elisha wants from Elijah is a double portion
- 21:22Speaker 3: of his spirit, is what he asks for. And and
- 21:25Speaker 3: Elijah's like, hey, I can't give that to you, but
- 21:28Speaker 3: if God wants you to have it, you'll be there
- 21:31Speaker 3: when when he comes to get me.
- 21:33Speaker 2: And so so when when.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Elijah is taken up into heaven, Elishah, what he has
- 21:38Speaker 3: left of Elijah is his mantle. And and today you
- 21:42Speaker 3: know a mantle linguistically means something along the lines of
- 21:46Speaker 3: the burden of leadership and the knowledge of how to
- 21:49Speaker 3: execute it right. And and that it sounds to me
- 21:52Speaker 3: like sure, I mean, I guess you could have tried.
- 21:55Speaker 3: It might have been unwise. You could have tried to
- 21:57Speaker 3: do this first two hundred on your own. You might
- 21:59Speaker 3: have done it.
- 22:00Speaker 2: But but having somebody who's been there and.
- 22:03Speaker 3: And at least in some form of fashion understands your
- 22:05Speaker 3: heart behind why you're doing this, to support you one
- 22:08Speaker 3: hundred percent and say, hey, man, I've run twenty of these.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Here's here's what I would tell you to do if
- 22:12Speaker 3: I had it to do all over again. Right, that's
- 22:15Speaker 3: a very, very biblical idea, and I think it was
- 22:17Speaker 3: wise and humble of you to seek some help.
- 22:20Speaker 4: He stripped it out really well, and uh it was
- 22:23Speaker 4: and like I said, the training itself and what he
- 22:26Speaker 4: put me on woollie hollow. Uh they carved out a hill.
- 22:32Speaker 4: Uh have the little swift backer there, but it's just
- 22:35Speaker 4: the hill that goes up. And I did that up
- 22:37Speaker 4: and down, up and down so many times throughout that year.
- 22:41Speaker 4: And went to Mountain Ebo and you know, woke up
- 22:44Speaker 4: at twelve am and and and did so many so
- 22:49Speaker 4: many hill repeats. But it you know, and he put
- 22:53Speaker 4: and he put me in perspective because I had a
- 22:55Speaker 4: few races lined up and I did. I did love
- 22:58Speaker 4: it in February and Uh, I hurt my t band
- 23:03Speaker 4: and some of the pain I went through was through
- 23:06Speaker 4: the training was was was very I guess happens when
- 23:10Speaker 4: you're training that hard for stuff. But then you place
- 23:14Speaker 4: people in your life that really help you. Tom Broom,
- 23:20Speaker 4: a chiroproactor that helped me. He's out of a process
- 23:24Speaker 4: fitness and Greenberg. Uh. Stacey Stacey Campbell massage therapist, very
- 23:30Speaker 4: very fantastic person and dating a very amazing person as well.
- 23:36Speaker 4: Andy Brew. Uh, she helped me so much. And then
- 23:40Speaker 4: a pt out of Little Rock Kara and Logan Blue Rose,
- 23:45Speaker 4: so I had them on speed dial. Uh, come and
- 23:50Speaker 4: see this, and and each one helped me in different
- 23:52Speaker 4: areas to get to get my training was supposed to be.
- 23:56Speaker 4: But but that that year was was was very you
- 24:00Speaker 4: know when I trained these usually in the morning so
- 24:03Speaker 4: I could spend time with my family the afternoon and
- 24:04Speaker 4: stuff like that. And you know, I had to work
- 24:06Speaker 4: twelve hour shifts and but but training two hours before
- 24:09Speaker 4: I go to work and you know, an hour after.
- 24:12Speaker 4: But I didn't. I didn't do a lot of miles
- 24:15Speaker 4: like in a row, like you know, eighty miles, ninety miles,
- 24:19Speaker 4: one hundred miles. I did more just really small technical
- 24:24Speaker 4: things to help build my legs and my my achilles
- 24:28Speaker 4: and my hamstrings and my quads yep. Because I mean,
- 24:32Speaker 4: like one thing he told me to do was like
- 24:34Speaker 4: walk up a hill, sprint down, Walk up a hill,
- 24:36Speaker 4: sprint down, walk up a hill, sprint down. It builds
- 24:39Speaker 4: your abductors, which which helps your quads. And I had
- 24:41Speaker 4: so much quad pain in my in my previous races
- 24:47Speaker 4: that I think that's what set me like I couldn't
- 24:49Speaker 4: run anymore. So so building building them small little foundational things,
- 24:54Speaker 4: you know, it was very smart laying the foundation and
- 24:59Speaker 4: then building there upon and then learning, you know, the
- 25:03Speaker 4: nutrition part. And he helped me nu nutrition a little
- 25:06Speaker 4: bit you as well, And I kind of took my whole,
- 25:11Speaker 4: my whole, you know what I learned in the past.
- 25:13Speaker 4: And if you don't eat in a fifty one hundred
- 25:19Speaker 4: and two in a mile race, you're gonna die. I mean,
- 25:22Speaker 4: everything's gonna fall apart. And it has and I've I've
- 25:26Speaker 4: I felt that pain before and I sat there, you
- 25:31Speaker 4: know where I didn't complay one hundred miles, which I
- 25:34Speaker 4: was trying to do, you know, crying because I did,
- 25:38Speaker 4: I didn't complete it. But but then you learn from
- 25:42Speaker 4: from those from those times were just like you, you
- 25:45Speaker 4: have to do this better, you know, and your Christ
- 25:48Speaker 4: you have to do these certain things. So you're not
- 25:50Speaker 4: gonna go if you don't pray, if you don't read
- 25:52Speaker 4: your Bible, if you don't do them simple things, you're
- 25:54Speaker 4: not gonna grow and bear fruits for God's glory. The
- 25:58Speaker 4: same same with you know, the running. I mean, if
- 26:01Speaker 4: you don't feel your body, if you don't do these.
- 26:03Speaker 4: If you don't train, ride, if you don't if you
- 26:05Speaker 4: don't set these, you know, it's it's there's motivation. And
- 26:10Speaker 4: my wife was praying his Way Foundation, you know, you know,
- 26:13Speaker 4: praying for nine hundred kids each and every day that
- 26:16Speaker 4: I woke up, I prayed for specifically. I run for
- 26:18Speaker 4: the specifically. But there also has to be the little
- 26:20Speaker 4: disciplines and that teaches people because you see these kids
- 26:24Speaker 4: fighting cancer, they had so much discipline. It's crazy, like
- 26:29Speaker 4: like they're in pain, but they're fighting. They're fighting a
- 26:32Speaker 4: way bigger battle than me. So I'm just coming alongside
- 26:35Speaker 4: of them and to supporting them, giving a platform and uh,
- 26:40Speaker 4: just continue to move forward. But there has to be discipline.
- 26:43Speaker 4: There has to be you know, there has to be
- 26:44Speaker 4: a sense of motivation, but there has to be a
- 26:46Speaker 4: sense of direction, a sense of purpose. And it just
- 26:50Speaker 4: continued to to to migrate towards that as the year
- 26:54Speaker 4: went on, and you know, just just just the pain
- 26:57Speaker 4: of the training and uh, just the learning. And it
- 27:01Speaker 4: got to the day and of course we flew down there.
- 27:05Speaker 4: We had a week before just kind of hang out
- 27:06Speaker 4: with the family because we knew the race was coming.
- 27:09Speaker 4: And then the race started June thirteenth. We checked in
- 27:13Speaker 4: on the on the twelfth and walked up there and
- 27:16Speaker 4: I was scared to death, just just everybody's there. You
- 27:20Speaker 4: got to check it, bag is in, You had to
- 27:21Speaker 4: talk to the safety team, you had to like you
- 27:23Speaker 4: got to like you got to do a mandatory bag check.
- 27:27Speaker 4: You have to have all this stuff in your bag.
- 27:28Speaker 4: The bag weigh twenty pounds. On the day of the race.
- 27:31Speaker 4: You yeah, all this stuff you had to carry, you know,
- 27:35Speaker 4: you had to go get your your tracker, you had
- 27:38Speaker 4: to get Yeah, you had to do everything that day.
- 27:40Speaker 4: And it was like, this is this is this is
- 27:43Speaker 4: I've been ready so much to get to that start
- 27:45Speaker 4: line because all the training is yere. So I'm just ready.
- 27:47Speaker 4: I'm just really start this race.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Let's go. Yeah.
- 27:51Speaker 4: And I talked to a few people and you know,
- 27:53Speaker 4: just kind of see how they were feeling. Everybody's everybody's
- 27:55Speaker 4: pretty anxious and nervous and just like, thing, man, let's
- 27:59Speaker 4: do this. You know. You know, the one guy came
- 28:02Speaker 4: up to me, he says, I'm a preacher. You know.
- 28:03Speaker 4: I see you got our shirt that says prayer on it.
- 28:05Speaker 4: He said, I'll pray for you, man. So many opportunity
- 28:09Speaker 4: to show Jesus Christ to people on these races. So
- 28:13Speaker 4: it was really cool that he did that. And I
- 28:16Speaker 4: met this guy, even Chuck from Michigan, and I said, hey,
- 28:18Speaker 4: I said, I'm wanting to run this with somebody. And
- 28:22Speaker 4: I said, if I see you on the day of
- 28:23Speaker 4: the race, I may, I may tag with you for
- 28:25Speaker 4: a little while. What pace you're going to go? He
- 28:27Speaker 4: was kind of he was kind of saying, okay, I
- 28:30Speaker 4: kind of had I had a structured plan what I
- 28:32Speaker 4: was going to do. That was my plan, but you know,
- 28:34Speaker 4: I was going to go home my body felt any
- 28:36Speaker 4: of whom. So on the day of race we get
- 28:39Speaker 4: up there actually just just really confident. Just just I
- 28:45Speaker 4: mean the people that started praying for this race and
- 28:48Speaker 4: during this race was was the most amazing thing that
- 28:52Speaker 4: I seen. I mean, prayer changes people's lives. I mean,
- 28:58Speaker 4: especially the person praying, you know, the request, you know,
- 29:02Speaker 4: it's a constant requests to the Lord, you know, for
- 29:05Speaker 4: for what we're praying. But we had specific prayers and
- 29:09Speaker 4: we had thousands of people praying. It was amazing. So
- 29:13Speaker 4: on that day, sitting in the start line, I was ready.
- 29:17Speaker 4: I didn't know what I was going to face. There
- 29:18Speaker 4: was a lot of unknowns. It was way different than
- 29:21Speaker 4: the hundred. But we was going to do this the
- 29:25Speaker 4: support for the Glory of God. And we was aing
- 29:30Speaker 4: to go to the finish line. And I found Chuck
- 29:34Speaker 4: from Michigan. I'm like, cool, dude's let's do this. So
- 29:38Speaker 4: so I don't know how the pepeople to get in
- 29:40Speaker 4: this race. So I started the race. They did a
- 29:42Speaker 4: loop around the parking lot and it kind of broke up,
- 29:45Speaker 4: broke the bottleneck going into the trail, and we started,
- 29:50Speaker 4: We ran, we walked, we just we just kept going.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Commerce Satan people come up. I usually tell everybody about
- 29:57Speaker 4: Jesus and how you tell everybody about the ministry, you know,
- 30:00Speaker 4: everybody I talked to, and uh, it just just to
- 30:04Speaker 4: keep people, you know, if they don't know Jesus, they're
- 30:07Speaker 4: gonna know them if they're.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Gonna running with you.
- 30:12Speaker 3: So so let's say I'm I'm some random dude who
- 30:14Speaker 3: what runs up next to you and and I say, hey,
- 30:17Speaker 3: I see you're praying in your warrior shirt, Like what
- 30:20Speaker 3: is that?
- 30:21Speaker 2: Could could you could you fill us in as as
- 30:23Speaker 2: if we were a runner beside you?
- 30:25Speaker 4: Yeah, uh yeah, we're running. Uh, we're sweating a little bit.
- 30:31Speaker 4: We're we're or like this is crazy, you know, explain
- 30:35Speaker 4: where they're from, where I'm from, you know, And I
- 30:38Speaker 4: just started telling about the ministry. You know, it's started
- 30:40Speaker 4: being thirteenth. It was about a little girl named Emily. Uh.
- 30:44Speaker 4: It started with her. It built into Emily, Elijah, and Evelyn,
- 30:50Speaker 4: the three E's. They all they all get a bon
- 30:54Speaker 4: Mot transplant and Duke Hospital and kind of branch off
- 30:59Speaker 4: from there. I was, I was, I was doing a
- 31:01Speaker 4: spot race for them. I was about six kids.
- 31:03Speaker 2: How did how did you know about these children?
- 31:06Speaker 1: Like?
- 31:06Speaker 2: Where are their names coming from? In your life at
- 31:08Speaker 2: that time?
- 31:11Speaker 4: Just I mean just those particular ones. Was was was
- 31:16Speaker 4: through uh Stacey, Uh, those three the three E's, but
- 31:21Speaker 4: building to two more kids. How how I got on
- 31:26Speaker 4: a Praying nine Warrior? Was Praynuice? Where your foundation was? So?
- 31:35Speaker 4: So yeah, I finished spartan race. I was gonna I
- 31:40Speaker 4: was going to asked Emily. I said what was next?
- 31:44Speaker 4: And she said, get on American Ninja Warrior. I tried
- 31:49Speaker 4: to get on the show. I didn't get the show,
- 31:51Speaker 4: but I got the name Praying Ninja Warrior. So so
- 31:54Speaker 4: that's where that's where the Prey and Ninja Warriors thing
- 31:58Speaker 4: took off, and twenty eighteen July fifth it turned into
- 32:02Speaker 4: a foundation. We had about seventy kids on the team then.
- 32:07Speaker 4: So each kid is a little different. Through Facebook, through
- 32:12Speaker 4: through moms or dads, you know, asking to pray for
- 32:14Speaker 4: their kids on Facebook, contact to me. We have a
- 32:18Speaker 4: prayagel Warrior dot com. People go email me say pray
- 32:22Speaker 4: for the kid, and it just way different ways to
- 32:27Speaker 4: connect to the foundation. But now, from twenty sixteen to
- 32:33Speaker 4: twenty twenty five, we pray for nine hundred kids around
- 32:37Speaker 4: the world, all different kinds of cancers, all differ kinds
- 32:42Speaker 4: of diseases, and it was it was like a stepping
- 32:46Speaker 4: stone to more and more kids. And how do we
- 32:50Speaker 4: pray for these kids? Obviously for healing for the cancer.
- 32:53Speaker 4: You know, once they pass away, it's extremely hard on
- 32:57Speaker 4: the parents in a lot of different ways, so we
- 33:01Speaker 4: support them. I like to meet the parents, uh, And
- 33:07Speaker 4: we met a lot of parents doughout the past. You know.
- 33:10Speaker 4: I met Jordan in California. That was amazing. He was
- 33:14Speaker 4: eleven years old, he had the the IPUG he passed
- 33:17Speaker 4: away and and I'd be telling these runners like stories
- 33:20Speaker 4: of of of of Jordan's and and and uh, just
- 33:25Speaker 4: just you know what they meant to me, and and
- 33:27Speaker 4: and and Reno when I when I flew into a Reno,
- 33:31Speaker 4: I met Lynn Hissing. Her daughter Katie Hissing had ewing
- 33:36Speaker 4: tircoma for for seven years. And he passed away, uh
- 33:42Speaker 4: last year, And but I got to meet her, you know.
- 33:45Speaker 4: And just I went to Indiana last year and baptized Carter. Uh.
- 33:51Speaker 4: He was six years old, and he passed away six
- 33:54Speaker 4: months after I baptized them. Yeah, just different opportunities to
- 33:59Speaker 4: connect the fai was in different ways. Each each family
- 34:02Speaker 4: is a little different, sometimes on the spiritual sense or
- 34:06Speaker 4: just just to be their sense. So and and we
- 34:09Speaker 4: don't force anybody to do anything sure that they don't
- 34:14Speaker 4: want to do. We just want to love him like
- 34:16Speaker 4: Jesus would and be there for him. And in a
- 34:19Speaker 4: time of need.
- 34:20Speaker 3: And uh, and you don't know this about me, but
- 34:25Speaker 3: we lost my niece, her name's Izzy Estina to glioblastoma.
- 34:31Speaker 2: He was two years old.
- 34:33Speaker 3: And the prayers prayed prior to that in both within
- 34:39Speaker 3: the family and then in in I would say in
- 34:44Speaker 3: support of the family. There was a time in my
- 34:47Speaker 3: life prior to her death that I would have told
- 34:51Speaker 3: you I was an atheist. I was not a militant atheist.
- 34:54Speaker 3: I was not a I was not against the faith,
- 34:57Speaker 3: but I I wasn't sure what to think about things.
- 35:02Speaker 3: And so you know, in my heart and mind, God
- 35:04Speaker 3: wasn't there. But it was through praying for a miracle
- 35:08Speaker 3: for her death, right, you know, to prevent her death,
- 35:11Speaker 3: and then the praying and the grief after that brought
- 35:15Speaker 3: me closer to God's heart and actually ultimately, ultimately was
- 35:21Speaker 3: a big part of my conversion from atheists atheism to Christianity. Okay,
- 35:27Speaker 3: and I say that because you don't know that about me,
- 35:29Speaker 3: But but there is a there is a there's something
- 35:34Speaker 3: deep and powerful about one the unity of prayer for
- 35:38Speaker 3: a specific person, the petitioning of the Father. Uh in
- 35:42Speaker 3: my own heart and mind, if I'm praying for somebody
- 35:46Speaker 3: and and I really want God's ear, God draws near
- 35:50Speaker 3: to the broken hearted.
- 35:51Speaker 2: But he also.
- 35:53Speaker 3: He also I don't know exactly how this works. And
- 35:56Speaker 3: I don't mean this to be a theological discussion. You're
- 35:59Speaker 3: you're a guy in the trenches doing the thing I
- 36:01Speaker 3: don't like. Ivory Tower Christianity very much.
- 36:04Speaker 4: They have.
- 36:04Speaker 2: They've got to you've got to mess with theology a
- 36:06Speaker 2: little bit.
- 36:06Speaker 3: But I don't know exactly how to articulate this, but
- 36:09Speaker 3: I know that when I'm in prayer for someone else
- 36:13Speaker 3: and I am petitioning the ear of the Father in
- 36:16Speaker 3: his throne room, if there's anything in me that is
- 36:20Speaker 3: unworthy or or.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Double minded or or wrong, it's almost.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Like he teaches me to deal with that first before
- 36:33Speaker 3: I can bring before I can bring this thing to
- 36:36Speaker 3: his heart. Not that not that his ears are closed
- 36:38Speaker 3: unless you're perfect or anything like that, but that it's
- 36:41Speaker 3: been a real experience of mine too to see that
- 36:44Speaker 3: that praying for somebody else deeply affects the way that
- 36:49Speaker 3: I pursue my own faith walk. And then you can
- 36:53Speaker 3: see answered prayer, sometimes in the way that you want,
- 36:57Speaker 3: which you know, praise God, and then sometimes prayers answered
- 37:02Speaker 3: in the way you don't really want, and it feels difficult,
- 37:06Speaker 3: but at the same time it teaches you to accept
- 37:09Speaker 3: the will the Father come what may. And I don't
- 37:13Speaker 3: say that in the leadst bit, the least bit with
- 37:16Speaker 3: light words. That's very, very difficult, and our family losing
- 37:21Speaker 3: Izzy was the most traumatic and difficult thing that our
- 37:26Speaker 3: family has ever been through. But at the same time,
- 37:30Speaker 3: God brought peace and goodness from that situation in our life.
- 37:35Speaker 3: And so so I say that out loud, to say
- 37:37Speaker 3: that to one to connect on that front, because I
- 37:43Speaker 3: see what you're doing and understand the power of it.
- 37:46Speaker 3: But two, it brings me to a question, and I
- 37:48Speaker 3: think it's a question worth asking. When you bring the
- 37:53Speaker 3: names of these children in the foundation and you say, hey,
- 37:57Speaker 3: we're praying for this, there's joy when the prayers are
- 38:02Speaker 3: answered joyfully, but there's also a lot of sorrow and
- 38:06Speaker 3: suffering that come from bringing those petitions earnestly to the
- 38:11Speaker 3: Father and then saying, hey, that that's not his will
- 38:13Speaker 3: right now. And and that's hard. That's a hard thing,
- 38:17Speaker 3: and a lot of people turn away from that. A
- 38:19Speaker 3: lot of people don't want to face that. But but
- 38:22Speaker 3: there there is an element of pain to this, this process,
- 38:26Speaker 3: And and I wonder if if you would care to
- 38:29Speaker 3: comment or speak on on how God's taught you to
- 38:33Speaker 3: walk and run in that pain, because it's not easy,
- 38:37Speaker 3: but it's a necessary part of the process.
- 38:41Speaker 4: Oh that's that's deep, you know. Ibout ask me, how
- 38:46Speaker 4: do you how do you, how do you pray for
- 38:47Speaker 4: these kids? I mean, we got super close to families
- 38:50Speaker 4: that that that lost the kid with cancer. But but
- 38:54Speaker 4: and I think prayers upholding thing that kind of keeps
- 38:57Speaker 4: you going, and it keeps you in red diressing because
- 38:59Speaker 4: you have a person relationship Jesus Christ, and that keeps
- 39:03Speaker 4: you driven and motivated to continue you to because you
- 39:10Speaker 4: bear people's burdens and and the weight is so heavy.
- 39:16Speaker 4: Sometimes I got a twenty pounds back pack on my
- 39:18Speaker 4: on my pack, you know what I'm carrying, and two
- 39:21Speaker 4: hundred miles. But you know the weight of losing a
- 39:24Speaker 4: child is so tremendously hard. You know when you when
- 39:30Speaker 4: you come to the family, you know, like what I
- 39:32Speaker 4: call Jordan's mom, you know, you know, it's just like
- 39:41Speaker 4: it's a holy spirit driven conversation because because it's you
- 39:47Speaker 4: don't want to say things to affect them, to make
- 39:50Speaker 4: them go in another direction, but you really really want
- 39:54Speaker 4: to listen to them. Listening is so important because obviously
- 40:00Speaker 4: when you speak to God yes or no, and he says, wait,
- 40:04Speaker 4: but the listening and be still didn't know that I'm
- 40:07Speaker 4: God and waiting for that right moment to say exactly
- 40:11Speaker 4: what is what needs to be said is probably the
- 40:16Speaker 4: most thing that I've seen in the ministry of talking
- 40:20Speaker 4: to families. And I'm not some super counselor got some
- 40:23Speaker 4: big degree or some theological degree, but I've had the
- 40:28Speaker 4: experience of setting with families. After Savannah died, she was
- 40:33Speaker 4: from spring Hill, right down the road. I led her
- 40:38Speaker 4: to the Lord, I baptized her, and her mom asked
- 40:42Speaker 4: me to do the funeral and we're sitting at the
- 40:45Speaker 4: funeral home or anniversaries July twentieth in a few days,
- 40:51Speaker 4: seven years of her passing, and that was the closest
- 40:54Speaker 4: one to the ministry. We pray for the kids and
- 40:59Speaker 4: families that for the illnesses we invest in there, we
- 41:04Speaker 4: invest in their lives and we hope for the future,
- 41:07Speaker 4: which is financial, but also Jesus Christ and uh, sitting
- 41:13Speaker 4: at that funeral home with mom across the table, making
- 41:17Speaker 4: a decision to bury her, you know, fifteen year old
- 41:22Speaker 4: child was so extremely hard. But it's it's a process.
- 41:31Speaker 4: Nothing is going to be the same, as you know,
- 41:34Speaker 4: and I'll add is e to are prayer lists as well,
- 41:37Speaker 4: but uh, it just it just it's just being there
- 41:41Speaker 4: for that person because they're going to have so many
- 41:45Speaker 4: dark moments, in so many dark times. It's just I've
- 41:51Speaker 4: seen suicide. I've seen families, lucid childs. I won't go
- 41:55Speaker 4: into names, but i've seen, I've seen, I've seen them
- 41:59Speaker 4: take their lives because the pain. You know, in this life,
- 42:04Speaker 4: we're gonna have suffering, We're gonna have persecution. You know,
- 42:09Speaker 4: if you're get to have a golly crystal life, you're
- 42:10Speaker 4: go persecution. You know, job, you know for example, you know,
- 42:16Speaker 4: so we're gonna But but losing a child is just
- 42:21Speaker 4: another level. I mean, it's just but I don't know
- 42:26Speaker 4: how you know, I've preached, I've taught, I've asked for
- 42:31Speaker 4: direction for my life. God, what do you want me
- 42:34Speaker 4: to do? And he placed a little girl of my
- 42:37Speaker 4: life to know the direction that it was going to be.
- 42:41Speaker 4: And that was praying his work foundation to be In
- 42:44Speaker 4: the foundation, we have directors in Mississippi, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, in
- 42:52Speaker 4: Arkansas and uh but two of the families from our
- 42:58Speaker 4: foundation has lost kids the care as well. So there's
- 43:01Speaker 4: also that support system where they could support me and
- 43:03Speaker 4: help me to understand how to help families and connect
- 43:07Speaker 4: with them because they feel it. Everything you know, well,
- 43:10Speaker 4: Lenord's lost three kids. One the one the d I
- 43:14Speaker 4: p G. Dana, and eleven days after that lost their
- 43:19Speaker 4: daughter Lydia, and two days have to she lost another
- 43:22Speaker 4: one of her sons. So she lost three kids and
- 43:26Speaker 4: she is superwoman. But but but there is there is
- 43:30Speaker 4: a degree in there being spiritual. But but the ones
- 43:35Speaker 4: that don't have Christ you could you could see a
- 43:38Speaker 4: huge difference in their walk and their pain. But just
- 43:45Speaker 4: because they're Christian doesn't mean that they don't struggle every day.
- 43:51Speaker 2: We don't mourn like the world mourns. That doesn't mean
- 43:54Speaker 2: we don't mourn.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Right, there's there's a there's an actual physical process of
- 44:00Speaker 3: grief when when we have when we have one part
- 44:02Speaker 3: of us that that remembers, sees, loves a family member
- 44:07Speaker 3: there all the time, and then another part of us
- 44:09Speaker 3: that understands that they're not here anymore, that that they've
- 44:13Speaker 3: they've gone on to to we're not part of this
- 44:17Speaker 3: physical realm, and and those two things are in conflict
- 44:21Speaker 3: in grief. And so like a Christian doesn't not mourn
- 44:26Speaker 3: as a bad noble negative but Christian does it not mourn.
- 44:28Speaker 3: But there's a difference in the morning process. There's a morning.
- 44:33Speaker 3: I part of part of our story for for our
- 44:36Speaker 3: household was I was mad at God. But that was
- 44:40Speaker 3: weird because I was an atheist. How could I be
- 44:42Speaker 3: mad at God? Who am I mad at?
- 44:44Speaker 2: Right?
- 44:45Speaker 3: But in but in my prayers for her, I saw
- 44:49Speaker 3: her in the throne room of God. It's a long story,
- 44:52Speaker 3: but but long story short. I had I had a vision.
- 44:56Speaker 3: I did my own Tahoe two hundred, but it was
- 44:59Speaker 3: like Tahoe seven and I was I was very fasted,
- 45:03Speaker 3: so I didn't make it.
- 45:04Speaker 2: I just passed out.
- 45:06Speaker 3: But in my in my vision, and this was real.
- 45:08Speaker 3: I wasn't like a I wasn't a hardcore praying person
- 45:11Speaker 3: at the time. I saw my niece who had been
- 45:15Speaker 3: through chemo, and she didn't have any hair, and she
- 45:17Speaker 3: was very.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Sick and stuff.
- 45:18Speaker 3: I saw my niece seated in his lap with her
- 45:22Speaker 3: hair all back, and she was singing with the angels
- 45:24Speaker 3: the song from Psalms that says, better is one day
- 45:27Speaker 3: in your courts, Better is one day in your house.
- 45:31Speaker 3: Better is one day here than a thousand elsewhere. And
- 45:33Speaker 3: she looked at me and she said, I'm where I
- 45:37Speaker 3: want to be. And when I woke up from this vision.
- 45:40Speaker 3: This was three months before she passed. When I woke
- 45:42Speaker 3: up from this vision, I had the answer I did
- 45:44Speaker 3: not want, which is something like I'm not healing her here.
- 45:50Speaker 3: But it gave me peace, which is a thing only
- 45:54Speaker 3: God can do. That that God can bring peace to
- 45:57Speaker 3: an answer you don't want. That God can pre peace
- 46:00Speaker 3: and hope to a situation that seems so so terrible
- 46:04Speaker 3: and devastating. And I got to share that vision at
- 46:06Speaker 3: her funeral with my sister and the family, and it
- 46:09Speaker 3: brought peace to many to be able to picture and
- 46:12Speaker 3: see her that that the suffering that she was going through.
- 46:17Speaker 3: We don't know why, we don't understand it, but the
- 46:20Speaker 3: suffering she was going through was over and that and
- 46:22Speaker 3: that she was okay, and that when you when.
- 46:25Speaker 2: You follow Christ, there is hope in that.
- 46:28Speaker 3: Right, if you're not following Christ, that sounds like a
- 46:31Speaker 3: bunch of superstitious mumbo jumbo hokey strange things that people
- 46:35Speaker 3: tell themselves to delude themselves out of out of pain
- 46:38Speaker 3: and difficulty, And and it's so hard to explain that
- 46:43Speaker 3: to somebody who doesn't understand. It's so hard to That's
- 46:46Speaker 3: why it says it's it's in the gospel that the
- 46:50Speaker 3: truth of the gospel is.
- 46:52Speaker 4: Is foolishness for those of those.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Who don't believe. So so there's I'm i I'm sharing that.
- 47:00Speaker 3: I don't intend for you necessarily to have to comment
- 47:02Speaker 3: on that, but because the work you're doing in praying
- 47:06Speaker 3: to Jowarry is one very needed I don't know if
- 47:08Speaker 3: people tell you this, I'm saying it out loud. It's
- 47:10Speaker 3: very needed in the sense that that many people shy
- 47:14Speaker 3: away from these very scary situations with children, especially where
- 47:18Speaker 3: it's it's hard to know what's God's heart, Why does
- 47:21Speaker 3: this happen? Like, how could how could a good God
- 47:24Speaker 3: allow this suffering?
- 47:25Speaker 1: Right?
- 47:25Speaker 2: That's a hard, hard, difficult.
- 47:27Speaker 3: Painful question, but at the same time the answer being like,
- 47:31Speaker 3: you know what, I'm going to walk through this with you.
- 47:34Speaker 2: I'm going to walk through this. I'm going to be
- 47:36Speaker 2: diligent in prayer.
- 47:37Speaker 3: I'm going to wake up at one am and do
- 47:38Speaker 3: my hills with the child in mind that that I'm
- 47:42Speaker 3: praying for. I'm going to do this thing, and I
- 47:44Speaker 3: don't get to control the outcome, but I am willing
- 47:47Speaker 3: to walk with you in this come come, whatever the
- 47:50Speaker 3: outcome God wants, and and that is a well, that's
- 47:54Speaker 3: that's extremely brave of you and also well I imagine
- 48:01Speaker 3: deeply holy spirit led.
- 48:03Speaker 2: So thank you for doing that. If somebody is listening
- 48:06Speaker 2: to this and watching this, you have an event coming
- 48:09Speaker 2: up local here at Wooster, Arkansas, Greenbrio, Arkansas for individuals
- 48:15Speaker 2: get involved. Can you tell us about what's coming up,
- 48:18Speaker 2: when it is, what it is, and how people can
- 48:20Speaker 2: get involved.
- 48:22Speaker 4: Yeah. So two thousand and two we started foundation. So
- 48:26Speaker 4: we did five k's from twenty eighteen COVID year had
- 48:31Speaker 4: a blank heear. But we do this as a benefit
- 48:36Speaker 4: race for the Paintwser Foundation and since we other eighteen,
- 48:41Speaker 4: we've raised over one hundred three thousand dollars to get
- 48:43Speaker 4: the families for many things. We've bought caskets, we hair extensions,
- 48:51Speaker 4: medical bills, mortgage payments, and we get requests often to
- 48:57Speaker 4: pay these different things. But the race is set up
- 49:00Speaker 4: to raise awareness, give a platform for the for for
- 49:03Speaker 4: the kids, and there's there's pictures of the kids all
- 49:07Speaker 4: the way throughout the race. Uh you know, so an
- 49:10Speaker 4: opportunity for someone to pray for a family and need
- 49:14Speaker 4: uh just we have we have we usually have families
- 49:18Speaker 4: come out there and speak, you know, about their experience
- 49:21Speaker 4: and what they've gone through, and it's it's a very
- 49:24Speaker 4: very humbling, very uh very sobbering moment because they're saying
- 49:30Speaker 4: they lost their child, and they say why they lost
- 49:32Speaker 4: their child and what they're feeling now, and they go
- 49:36Speaker 4: very deep into that conversation. We had three speak you know,
- 49:40Speaker 4: to speak and uh just but it's in the opportunity
- 49:44Speaker 4: to get people physical and active and and and doing something,
- 49:47Speaker 4: you know, something you know that they can better their
- 49:50Speaker 4: body yet as well. But yes, September twentieth and Wooster, Arkansas,
- 49:56Speaker 4: we're plugging in a half marathon this year. So we're
- 49:59Speaker 4: jumping in to another realm here of possibilities for a
- 50:05Speaker 4: five k and a half marathon, and so I'm kind
- 50:09Speaker 4: of excited about that. The Green Bar run Clubs going
- 50:12Speaker 4: to be you know, orchestrating it as well, you know,
- 50:14Speaker 4: getting everything together. We got really really good aid stations
- 50:18Speaker 4: and really good safety through Wooster one really big hill,
- 50:24Speaker 4: so so that'll be fun for people as well, and
- 50:27Speaker 4: just just an opportunity to help the foundation and need
- 50:30Speaker 4: and help these families. I mean, so I'm really excited
- 50:34Speaker 4: about it. Getting the half marathon and I always want
- 50:38Speaker 4: to do one hundred miles, but I don't know if
- 50:39Speaker 4: that'll er ever go that far.
- 50:41Speaker 2: But maybe that's a very niche market man. No, I
- 50:47Speaker 2: love it.
- 50:47Speaker 3: I support one hundred percent. I'll be running. I'm very
- 50:50Speaker 3: excited to do so, and I would like to invite
- 50:52Speaker 3: anybody listening or watching to run with us. Let's say
- 50:55Speaker 3: you're not local and for whatever reason can't make it up.
- 50:58Speaker 2: Here is there?
- 50:59Speaker 3: Uh, you've giving me a link for sign ups that
- 51:02Speaker 3: people can can sign up to run. Is there a
- 51:04Speaker 3: way for them to give to the foundation and support
- 51:07Speaker 3: it financially even if they're not able to be a
- 51:09Speaker 3: part of it.
- 51:10Speaker 4: There's a donation button on the run sign up as
- 51:13Speaker 4: well as you could sign up virtually and actually do
- 51:16Speaker 4: it wherever you want.
- 51:17Speaker 2: Oh that's so, there's no excuses. You can sign up
- 51:23Speaker 2: and run no matter where.
- 51:25Speaker 4: You are, and you got to meddle and a show
- 51:27Speaker 4: just like everybody else, and I'll send it to you. So,
- 51:29Speaker 4: like I said, I'm really excited about that option. Like
- 51:32Speaker 4: I said, I don't really neat for whoever wants to
- 51:35Speaker 4: go run and it can do it, So, dude.
- 51:37Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 51:37Speaker 3: I've done a few virtual you know, five k's, ten
- 51:40Speaker 3: k's even a half marathon because I couldn't be there,
- 51:43Speaker 3: but I wanted to support it and do it. So
- 51:46Speaker 3: I'm going to make sure that that links in the
- 51:47Speaker 3: show notes. If you're listening to this, they've been moved
- 51:49Speaker 3: by this conversation and you're like, hey, I want to
- 51:51Speaker 3: support this foundation. Maybe I want to go get active
- 51:53Speaker 3: and do that. That would be good, and I want
- 51:55Speaker 3: to pray for some kids and their families. I need
- 51:57Speaker 3: you to sign up. I need you to click the link.
- 51:59Speaker 3: I need you to bin, and I need you to
- 52:01Speaker 3: be a part of this. If you can do it locally,
- 52:03Speaker 3: I'll be there. I'll high five you and and run
- 52:05Speaker 3: with you. You might run faster than me. I'm not
- 52:07Speaker 3: a very fast runner, but I will do it. So
- 52:11Speaker 3: so I'm so grateful for you jumping on the podcast
- 52:15Speaker 3: with me and describing your experience. But I never actually
- 52:18Speaker 3: got to hear the two hundreds. So I'm going to
- 52:21Speaker 3: do like a rapid fire questioning just just a few things. Yeah,
- 52:26Speaker 3: because you know, I guess in a way, you don't
- 52:28Speaker 3: know about the two hundred until you run the two
- 52:30Speaker 3: under you get like a like a hat on you
- 52:31Speaker 3: that when you look up it says two hundreds the
- 52:34Speaker 3: new one hundred?
- 52:34Speaker 2: Is that what it says?
- 52:35Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 52:35Speaker 2: The bill there.
- 52:37Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I'm still working on my first one hundred man.
- 52:44Speaker 3: So here's some rapid fire questions. First, did you listen
- 52:48Speaker 3: to music on this two hundred mile run?
- 52:51Speaker 2: Was that a thing?
- 52:52Speaker 4: I did not listen to music, But I had a
- 52:53Speaker 4: lot of good conversation with Chuck and Jason and Dalton,
- 52:57Speaker 4: all three of them d n AFT unfortunately. But you know,
- 53:00Speaker 4: later on the race just kind of I kept tagging
- 53:02Speaker 4: with people and just having conversations with people because I
- 53:04Speaker 4: think that was really helping me continue to move forward.
- 53:07Speaker 4: So talking to people, and then I will say I
- 53:11Speaker 4: ran to Wes and my one thirty seven. He DNF
- 53:14Speaker 4: because he had some heart problems. But he came up
- 53:17Speaker 4: the trail two miles before and my body was shutting
- 53:20Speaker 4: down because I didn't sleep for sixty one hours. And
- 53:23Speaker 4: I walked up to him and I could I couldn't
- 53:26Speaker 4: hardly walk, and he said a word that motivated me,
- 53:31Speaker 4: encouraged me to go forward to the aid station. I
- 53:34Speaker 4: asked him, asked him how he was doing, how his
- 53:38Speaker 4: heart was. He said, his heart is fine, and he said,
- 53:41Speaker 4: you have a good heart. And I started running and
- 53:44Speaker 4: I didn't feel no pain for two miles. It was
- 53:49Speaker 4: crazy and I was crying and I ran as fast
- 53:53Speaker 4: as I could to the aid station and got my
- 53:55Speaker 4: first nap for one hour and steak tack was my
- 54:00Speaker 4: wife brought me, and that catapulted my whole race changed
- 54:05Speaker 4: Perspective's amazing. I only had three and a half hours
- 54:08Speaker 4: sleep the whole ninety three hours finished in the race.
- 54:12Speaker 3: So okay, question two, what were the physical repercussions of
- 54:17Speaker 3: two hundred miles on you?
- 54:18Speaker 4: Like it was?
- 54:19Speaker 2: It was?
- 54:19Speaker 4: It was actually not bad at all. Really, I mean
- 54:22Speaker 4: I got to so I had I had a quad
- 54:29Speaker 4: ten didn't coming to my knee that hurt pretty bad.
- 54:32Speaker 4: I had blisters, but I had blister pads. My wife
- 54:36Speaker 4: doctor my feet up every aid station and changed them out,
- 54:39Speaker 4: washed my feet all that stuff. Thank you Jessica for
- 54:43Speaker 4: doing that. And I had. I didn't have any quad pains,
- 54:48Speaker 4: I had no pain in my legs. I developed this
- 54:52Speaker 4: stuff called Tahoe Long. It's altitude and dust mix. There's
- 54:55Speaker 4: a lot of dust out there, one hundred and ninety
- 54:59Speaker 4: so I made the fish line sipping on some water
- 55:02Speaker 4: and I made it there and I had I had
- 55:05Speaker 4: a call for nineteen days after Tahoe, So that was
- 55:09Speaker 4: about the worst thing that I had that the blisters
- 55:12Speaker 4: went away. Of course, I finally slept for twenty four hours.
- 55:17Speaker 4: It seemed like after the race, because I slept three
- 55:19Speaker 4: and a half hours, but I had to get on
- 55:22Speaker 4: a plane to come come back to Arkansas on Wednesday
- 55:25Speaker 4: the next day. So but by Friday I was I
- 55:28Speaker 4: was good. I mean, wow, I was really good. The
- 55:31Speaker 4: blisters took about Sunday to call us over and then
- 55:35Speaker 4: Monday I went to work and I didn't run for
- 55:38Speaker 4: two weeks, but I could have.
- 55:41Speaker 3: So I don't know jack about how the body recovers
- 55:45Speaker 3: from an ultra arun but I have to say that
- 55:48Speaker 3: that sounds like a like a decent level of divine
- 55:51Speaker 3: favor and also pretty miraculous recovery, because I mean two
- 55:57Speaker 3: was no joke, man.
- 55:58Speaker 4: The people following this, it was praise. We pulled the
- 56:02Speaker 4: eight station. Wife said, you can't imagine how many people
- 56:05Speaker 4: are praying for you right now. It's crazy how many people.
- 56:09Speaker 4: Because I went on Facebook, but I didn't like I
- 56:11Speaker 4: just kind of sent some pictures and something like that.
- 56:14Speaker 4: But but the people that was praying, that was following.
- 56:18Speaker 4: I hear stories afterwards. You know, event you know, you
- 56:21Speaker 4: started on Friday, I went to work, and I did
- 56:24Speaker 4: all this stuff on the weekend. I came back in Monday.
- 56:27Speaker 4: And then Tuesday, at eight am Central time, you finally
- 56:31Speaker 4: crossed the finish line. And you know, everybody surrounding me
- 56:34Speaker 4: at work and we're watching the little tracker thing. He
- 56:37Speaker 4: goes Nick, He's about to finish blah blah blah, and
- 56:40Speaker 4: had had the YouTube live and all that stuff. And
- 56:43Speaker 4: the amount of stories of the prayer and the support
- 56:47Speaker 4: and just just the following and just the praying for
- 56:51Speaker 4: the kids on the Prayers Word team. It was was
- 56:53Speaker 4: was was so humbling. Even Chuck would he he dnf
- 56:57Speaker 4: mile thirty two because he had Tyler lung and he
- 57:00Speaker 4: was delusional. I was a little delusional, but it wasn't
- 57:03Speaker 4: really bad. But he said, man, I left and I
- 57:06Speaker 4: followed you and track you and and I got to
- 57:08Speaker 4: talk to him and hear his story of how he fit,
- 57:10Speaker 4: how he did finish. But man is I mean, thank
- 57:17Speaker 4: you Jesus. But uh, it was it was humbling because
- 57:22Speaker 4: because you get unknowns, you don't know what's going to happen.
- 57:25Speaker 4: We do that in life, right yeah, and uh, like
- 57:28Speaker 4: what's going to happen? But when you faithfully follow the
- 57:31Speaker 4: Lord in devoted prayer and not just say that prayer
- 57:36Speaker 4: one why prayer in your mill. But prayer has changed
- 57:40Speaker 4: my life where the unknowns are are preparation for the unknown.
- 57:46Speaker 4: I mean, I'm ready to set in motion the hard
- 57:50Speaker 4: things because the Lord has guided me through the suffering,
- 57:53Speaker 4: through the pain, through the conversations, through the deepness. When
- 57:59Speaker 4: we pray, we paved that all the way through our lives.
- 58:04Speaker 4: We could walk, not simply through it, because the narrow
- 58:08Speaker 4: road is very difficult, but it's God guiding us with
- 58:14Speaker 4: a light. Because because that night I had a light
- 58:18Speaker 4: and I felt like Jesus was guiding every step of
- 58:22Speaker 4: the path, even in the night and the day, you know,
- 58:25Speaker 4: like the children are zero. I mean it was literally
- 58:28Speaker 4: he was guiding me all the way to the finish line.
- 58:31Speaker 4: And when I got to that, so everybody said, the
- 58:33Speaker 4: last fifteen, last fifty, last two miles of race is
- 58:37Speaker 4: fifteen hundred of elevation game. I almost ran that whole thing,
- 58:42Speaker 4: oh my gosh. But got to the top and we
- 58:46Speaker 4: had allful lot of time and kind of coasted in.
- 58:49Speaker 4: But I've got to thank you, know, all my crew.
- 58:55Speaker 4: I mean, Drew came in for forty miles from Nevada.
- 58:58Speaker 4: His daughter Era had has leukemia, and he came in
- 59:04Speaker 4: and supported me of hit him, supporting his daughters, supporting
- 59:09Speaker 4: the foundation, and now we have a lifelong friendship. You know.
- 59:13Speaker 4: I ran to a guy that I graduated with him
- 59:15Speaker 4: my one hundred from Arkansas, and I didn't know that,
- 59:18Speaker 4: and his daughter had had a brain tumor. Uh Tori
- 59:23Speaker 4: t or I and Uh. We had that conversation, me
- 59:27Speaker 4: telling about the ministry and he told me, I don't
- 59:28Speaker 4: tell a lot of people this, but my daughter was
- 59:30Speaker 4: born with a brain tumor. But she's doing really good.
- 59:33Speaker 2: Now.
- 59:33Speaker 4: I'm just like, it's just astonishing the conversation because because
- 59:39Speaker 4: the Taler two hundred run, it's not it's a power
- 59:43Speaker 4: walking situation. There's walking, there's sleeping, there's resting, there's it's
- 59:48Speaker 4: just keep just keep going through the journey to the
- 59:50Speaker 4: finish line. But all the conversations and all the incoming
- 59:55Speaker 4: prayers and conversations, and I even started facetiming people at
- 59:59Speaker 4: the end because was like, these people followed me this long,
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: I'm gonna have a I'm gonna have a one v
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: one conversation showing them Tahoe, you know, while I'm walking
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: down this crazy mountain. It was it was just like
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: this is this is, this is this is. I mean,
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: the views and Tahoe are amazing, but the experience I
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: had just devoted to God. I mean, that was my music.
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: There you go, there you go, that was my music
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: the whole way, because because God was guiding the path.
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: I mean not in just two hundred miles my own life,
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: but it showed me something. And you do this a
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: lot too. You get away, get away from the world.
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: And those four those three days and twenty two hours
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: was devoted time for me and God to help other people.
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: But but for me to to continue to fill up
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: to help up other people. Yeah, oh man, But but
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: God said in emotion, got me in, got me in
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: the race. It was June thirteen. That was it was
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: like everything, everything was there, everything I felt like was
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: God's will for me to do this. Now, people made
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: out that a little bit, but it's it seemed like
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: that was the past my life, and I don't know
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: what's next.
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: But the September twentieth race is next. That's that's what's next.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: Man's next. As you were talking, and as we've had
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: this conversation, this this passage in Hebrews keeps coming to
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: mind in heart. I imagine you've read it a million times,
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: since you love to run and pray as well. However,
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: I don't want to mess it up, so I'm going
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: to read it and then I'm going to pray over
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: you and the American Ninjau Warrior Foundation. It's not American
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: praying Ninjeorria, sorry, praying Ninja Warrior Foundation. And also the
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: event coming up. So this is from Hebrews. It follows
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: after my favorite, well it's not my favorite. I love
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: many places in the Bible. Is one of my favorite
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: chapters in the whole Bible. I call it the Hall
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: of Faith Hebrews eleven. So we're talking about Abraham, and
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: we're talking about Abel, and we're talking about Moses, and
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: we're talking about all these people who had faith.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: And then the writer says.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: This, Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders us,
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: run with perseverance the race that's marked out before us,
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfector of
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: our faith, for the joy set before him. He endured
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: the cross, scorning its shame, and down at the right
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: weary or lose heart.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: Can I pray for you, brother?
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: Gonna say one thing, Yeah, have at it. One of
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: the ladies on the team set me that exact verse
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: and said, the cloud of witnesses it in her perspective
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: is the kids that's passed away and the praying and
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: shor team watching over and go out around the race.
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: And she lost her daughter as well. And that was
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: a really profound moment listened to because I had her
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: send it. She sent me a video. She said that
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: very safe, that same verse, and she said, they're they're
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: watching over you. You know, the ones that passed away
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: and from cancer, the ones you've been praying for. So
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: you say in that verse brings a lot of emotions up.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: So thank you and you can pray for me. Thank
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: you so much, Father God. Thank you so much for
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: this day. Thank you for the opportunity to spend time
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: with Nick today, and thank you for the mission that
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: you have called.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: Him to in his life.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: Thank you that he's willing to sacrifice mind and body
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: in order to bring before you the families and the
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: children that you love and that you made and that
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: he's running for. Lord, but thank you for the foundation
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: of individuals who've come around him to support this endeavor
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: in effort. It's definitely not a one man's show. Definitely
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: couldn't be a one man show. And so Lord, I
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: pray you're blessing in your favor on the Praying Ninja
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: Warrior Foundation. God, that you would continue to bring names
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: and continue to bring resources so that this foundation can
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: bless the children that you've called them to bless in
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: their families. Lord, I also pray for any listening or
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: watching this conversation who have a child who's sick or
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: has lost a child to an illness.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: God, I just pray that you.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: Would draw near to them. I pray that in brokenness,
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: as you say, you draw nearer to the broken hearted.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: I pray that in their brokenness you will draw them
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: close heal their heart heal the bodies involved, and God,
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: I pray that you'll bring good from something so terrible,
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: difficult and devastating in our world. God, thank you for Nick.
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: I pray that we have a great.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: Run on September twentieth, and that many joined us for it.
