- 0:00Speaker 1: Vibe that rain yesterday. But my goodness, what an absolute
- 0:04Speaker 1: deluge of rain that happened, especially over in the Cordon
- 0:10Speaker 1: area and in other places as well. But Matthew Childress
- 0:14Speaker 1: is back and I'm happy about that. Matthew, are you
- 0:18Speaker 1: okay today? I'm good? Are you sure? Just really tired?
- 0:22Speaker 1: You are okay? Can you not get a good night's sleep?
- 0:25Speaker 1: What happened? Actually?
- 0:26Speaker 2: I got a pretty decent night sleep, mostly because I
- 0:29Speaker 2: was on a plane for like fourteen hours yesterday.
- 0:33Speaker 1: You got back from Tampa.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Yes, I got from Tampa yesterday, which was yeah, awesome.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I love it down there, was really nice.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Did you really? Yeah? I mean I think you know.
- 0:42Speaker 2: We we were looking around the Lakeland area for apartments, right,
- 0:46Speaker 2: So we found a place to live. We put our
- 0:48Speaker 2: application everything in. Oh wow, So we moved there next month,
- 0:52Speaker 2: oh my gosh, which I'm really excited about. But I
- 0:56Speaker 2: thought you weren't moving to a little later in the year.
- 0:59Speaker 2: So that was the oh boy. And then some things
- 1:03Speaker 2: came to a rise.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Oh really, and you have some news? Not yet, I
- 1:09Speaker 1: will oh. Oh, so you're teasing us.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Yes, I will have some news possibly next week. Oh
- 1:17Speaker 2: you can't tell us, right, now I can't in case listening. Oh,
- 1:22Speaker 2: so do I have an idea?
- 1:24Speaker 1: What it is? You probably have an idea. Yes, I
- 1:26Speaker 1: think we all have an idea at this point. Well congratulations. Yeah,
- 1:29Speaker 1: so that's if she says, you know.
- 1:31Speaker 2: That that's true, that that came into I obviously came
- 1:33Speaker 2: into play it all, and uh, we talked about it.
- 1:35Speaker 2: And just like from the financial standpoint, it's easier for
- 1:38Speaker 2: us to move together than it is for me to
- 1:40Speaker 2: randomly pack up in the middle of the year by myself.
- 1:43Speaker 2: And yeah, ok her, the company she's moving for work
- 1:47Speaker 2: down therefore is paying for her move, So it's just
- 1:50Speaker 2: really easier for us.
- 1:51Speaker 1: That's really nice. Okay, And you do not have a
- 1:55Speaker 1: job down there yet? Is that fair?
- 1:57Speaker 2: Curarently not apparently. Unfortunately apparently not apparent.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Uh I've you sound like that a little kid that
- 2:03Speaker 1: was being interviewed on the news. Apparently I'm not allowed
- 2:06Speaker 1: to get on uh small Apparently I'm not.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Like I have applied to every single job that is
- 2:13Speaker 2: equivocally available to me. Yes, I've got a couple of
- 2:16Speaker 2: interviews done and this and that, so I'm waiting to
- 2:18Speaker 2: hear back from stuff.
- 2:19Speaker 1: But no, not officially yet. Okay, wow, I wish you
- 2:22Speaker 1: the best to look in that. Now, tell me about
- 2:24Speaker 1: your weekend in Tampa. What did you experience, what did
- 2:26Speaker 1: you enjoy, what did you not like? Was there anything
- 2:30Speaker 1: you didn't like so far?
- 2:33Speaker 2: Because it was obviously only like four days and most
- 2:35Speaker 2: of the stuff we time we spent was looking at houses,
- 2:38Speaker 2: looking at apartments and stuff. Right, one of the things
- 2:40Speaker 2: I did not like was I feel like, what's the
- 2:44Speaker 2: highway that goes from like down through downtown Tampa, like.
- 2:48Speaker 1: The May Interstate. That's two seventy five. Okay, I don't understand.
- 2:52Speaker 1: And then to get to Lakeland you have to go
- 2:53Speaker 1: on I four towards Orlando.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Yeah, so I don't understand. The IPO is what I'm
- 2:57Speaker 2: thinking of. I don't understand why I four.
- 2:59Speaker 1: It's miserable.
- 3:00Speaker 2: It is like the Waterson where there's like ten lanes,
- 3:03Speaker 2: but it's fifty five miles an hour. Yes, it drove
- 3:06Speaker 2: me crazy. That's one of the only things I just
- 3:08Speaker 2: could not stand.
- 3:09Speaker 1: And traffic is horrendous on I for it, just to
- 3:11Speaker 1: let you know, so you you be prepared. Yeah, we
- 3:14Speaker 1: kind of experienced that.
- 3:15Speaker 2: We she was gonna work in winter Haven, so we
- 3:18Speaker 2: went and went and checked out winter Haven.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Saw that.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Yeah's an area. It's okay, Yeah, we like so we
- 3:24Speaker 2: were living in Lakeland. We we had to check out
- 3:26Speaker 2: downtown Lakeland, which was super nice. Loved it down there. Uh,
- 3:29Speaker 2: spent a uh not like a night like spent the
- 3:32Speaker 2: night there, would spend a night down in Tampa, like
- 3:35Speaker 2: took her to a really nice restaurant, went to Ocean Prime.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I've never been there, wo either had she? So yeah,
- 3:40Speaker 2: we went there. It was really good. It was fantastic night.
- 3:42Speaker 2: And then we spent another day at We went down
- 3:46Speaker 2: to Saint Pete and Clearwater. It's spent a day over there,
- 3:48Speaker 2: and you know, checked out what the area looks like.
- 3:49Speaker 1: What part of Saint Pete Clearwater? Did you go to
- 3:52Speaker 1: Saint Peter Clearwater? We went to Clearwater. We just took
- 3:54Speaker 1: a stop in Saint Pete just kind of look around
- 3:56Speaker 1: for a second. But yeah, we went to Clearwater for
- 3:58Speaker 1: the day. You did, Okay, Yeah you so you should
- 4:01Speaker 1: have gone to Saint Pete. Okay, good, I'm glad you did.
- 4:04Speaker 1: You didn't take any of the advice I gave you,
- 4:06Speaker 1: But that's okay, you will, That's true. Yeah, you need
- 4:09Speaker 1: to go to you know, one of the restaurants I
- 4:11Speaker 1: was telling you.
- 4:12Speaker 3: To go to.
- 4:12Speaker 1: We will get a whole year down there, so yeah,
- 4:14Speaker 1: I know, I know you'll you'll enjoy it, but h
- 4:17Speaker 1: and I'll give you some more. You were asking me
- 4:19Speaker 1: for some ideas on the way out as I'm headed
- 4:22Speaker 1: out of town, and I forgot to give you some
- 4:25Speaker 1: more ideas, so I apologize.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Yeah, we didn't end up going to Columbia's.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I think Columbia's.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Yeah, So we didn't go there because she had already
- 4:31Speaker 2: been there before. Oh, she's been in Tampa before. And
- 4:34Speaker 2: because since we were booing down there for the weekend,
- 4:36Speaker 2: we wanted to both go somewhere we hadn't been.
- 4:38Speaker 1: It's a Tampa staple, So just Tampa Saint Petersburg staple
- 4:41Speaker 1: without a doubt. So it's well, you could have had
- 4:43Speaker 1: in the airport yesterday because they do have a restaurant
- 4:45Speaker 1: in the airport, all right, So you had a little
- 4:48Speaker 1: issue getting back to Louisville.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Yeah, So we got up. Our flight was at nine
- 4:54Speaker 2: I think yesterday morning. Yesterday morning at nine o'clock. What
- 4:57Speaker 2: airline are you flying?
- 4:58Speaker 1: Uh?
- 4:59Speaker 2: Southwest? So it should be a NonStop, right, Yeah, it
- 5:02Speaker 2: was non stop straight to our flight. There was straight
- 5:04Speaker 2: to Tampa or went straight back to Kentucky. We get
- 5:07Speaker 2: there at like eight, like we get to security at
- 5:11Speaker 2: like eight eight ten or something like that.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Oh, you're cutting it close.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Well, I mean the gate's right next to security.
- 5:16Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. You're cutting it really clear. You didn't
- 5:19Speaker 1: you left this out when you were telling me, Okay,
- 5:22Speaker 1: let's nobody that hasn't been to Tampa. Let me explain
- 5:25Speaker 1: to you.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Yes, the security line, you can see your flight gate
- 5:29Speaker 2: from the security line.
- 5:30Speaker 1: They had like you have to take a stram to
- 5:31Speaker 1: your terminal.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Yeah, at eight o'clock our flight, the doors closed at
- 5:36Speaker 2: eight to fifty. We sat in the security line that
- 5:39Speaker 2: only had one person working, wow, for fifty minutes to
- 5:44Speaker 2: an hour.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and then you're in you're in pre TSA or
- 5:47Speaker 1: the normal line. I'm in the normal line, okay.
- 5:49Speaker 2: And then while we're in the normal line, eight hundred
- 5:52Speaker 2: TSA pre check people showed up, so they have to
- 5:55Speaker 2: let them go first. So we just sat there for
- 5:57Speaker 2: like forty five minutes until they finally up a second one,
- 6:01Speaker 2: which because the line that I'm and now has like
- 6:02Speaker 2: a thousand people in Wow, so bad.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah, well, and that's why you get there two hours
- 6:07Speaker 1: before the fight leaves. Sure, I typically I typically get
- 6:13Speaker 1: to the airport about an hour and a half before
- 6:15Speaker 1: the fight leaves. I give myself another thirty minutes because
- 6:19Speaker 1: that's a big airport. I mean, Tampa itself, Louisville is
- 6:23Speaker 1: it's not like Tampa. But did you see the flamingo?
- 6:26Speaker 1: I did see the flamingo. She made me stop and
- 6:28Speaker 1: go look at it. Yeah you should, it's pretty.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I was just surprised that, you know, Louisville, you know,
- 6:33Speaker 2: Muhammad Ali International Airport has more employees working than Tampa
- 6:36Speaker 2: International does.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I don't know why that happened. Typically, that's not the
- 6:39Speaker 1: way I go through that airport smoothly every single time.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I've never had an issue. Knock on wood, I gotta
- 6:46Speaker 1: go there Sunday. But uh, I probably jinks myself right there.
- 6:51Speaker 1: But I'm surprised about that. But yeah, you got to
- 6:53Speaker 1: get there a little ahead of that. Yeah, you cut
- 6:56Speaker 1: it way too close.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I thought a full hour when I could see my
- 6:59Speaker 2: gate was an.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Well, no, not at all. And so what happened then?
- 7:04Speaker 1: Since you missed your flight, then what happened?
- 7:06Speaker 2: We just went to the customer service desk, and they
- 7:07Speaker 2: got us on another flight within the hour. Except it's
- 7:10Speaker 2: just had connections on it.
- 7:12Speaker 1: That was it. Where'd you have to go?
- 7:13Speaker 2: So we had to stop in Birmingham. Oh my, stayed
- 7:15Speaker 2: on the plane. Oh my, stopped in Dallas. Oh my gosh,
- 7:19Speaker 2: you're going to Dallas. Had to get off the plane
- 7:21Speaker 2: in Dallas. Wait, like forty minutes go from Dallas to
- 7:25Speaker 2: Louisll Wow.
- 7:27Speaker 1: And so therefore you got back into Louisville at what time?
- 7:30Speaker 1: Five pm? Wow? That that's at eleven yeah? Five? Oh
- 7:37Speaker 1: my goodness. Okay, Well you might get to the airport
- 7:40Speaker 1: a little earlier next time.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Yeah, now that I know they only have two employees.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Oh, it's not the case, but they'll they'll they'll have
- 7:46Speaker 1: more employees that next time. You'll get there real early
- 7:49Speaker 1: and you'll be like, thanks loved, Michael. But you know what,
- 7:51Speaker 1: at least you would have made your fight.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Yeah, we would have. Yeah, but you would have been
- 7:55Speaker 2: home in eleven at least. I mean, I'm here, so
- 7:57Speaker 2: I mean at least that I could have been. Still,
- 7:59Speaker 2: I was terrified that we're gonna get stuck overnight because
- 8:02Speaker 2: they actually made a mistake when we were going to
- 8:05Speaker 2: our our second flight, the one that we got put
- 8:07Speaker 2: on after we missed our.
- 8:10Speaker 1: They did, they did.
- 8:11Speaker 2: They didn't tell us there was a connecting flight to Birmingham, yes,
- 8:16Speaker 2: and then we would just stay on the plane. So
- 8:19Speaker 2: they the people at the reception desk just told us
- 8:22Speaker 2: you're getting on this flight to Dallas and you're going
- 8:24Speaker 2: from Dallas to Kentucky. We're like, okay, So we're waiting
- 8:28Speaker 2: at the gate. This flight is going to Birmingham. It's
- 8:30Speaker 2: not going to Dallas. So we're like, oh, ours must
- 8:33Speaker 2: be right afterward. So we are sitting there and then
- 8:37Speaker 2: they're going through their whole boarding process. They're getting to
- 8:40Speaker 2: the like the group eight at this point, and I
- 8:42Speaker 2: hear someone get up and say, gosh, I wish we
- 8:46Speaker 2: could just go straight to Dallas. And I was like,
- 8:48Speaker 2: wait a minute, Oh, I said, I think this is
- 8:52Speaker 2: our flight. She's like, no, way, that's to Birmingham. So
- 8:55Speaker 2: we go to the we go to the reception disc Wow,
- 8:56Speaker 2: like there's like ten minutes left before you got this flight. Wow, Hey,
- 9:00Speaker 2: is this flight going to Dallas. She goes, no, it's
- 9:02Speaker 2: going to Birmingham and then Dallas. I was like that
- 9:04Speaker 2: would have been great information to have. So we had
- 9:07Speaker 2: to run onto this flight like the last minute.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, And were you carrying your bags on? Yeah?
- 9:12Speaker 1: We only had carry on so it was fine. Okay,
- 9:14Speaker 1: So there's enough room to put your bags on because
- 9:16Speaker 1: you know a lot of times it'll be full and
- 9:18Speaker 1: you'll have to check your bag at that point. Oh,
- 9:20Speaker 1: I just I'll just bring it back back. When traveling
- 9:22Speaker 1: anymore is not as fun as it used to be.
- 9:24Speaker 1: It used to be fun to travel, and nowadays it's
- 9:27Speaker 1: just it's I dread it. I mean, it's a source
- 9:30Speaker 1: of high anxiety for me, and I don't enjoy it
- 9:33Speaker 1: like I used to. But uh, anyway, five O two
- 9:36Speaker 1: three eight four If you want to call in three,
- 9:39Speaker 1: I'll finish this. I'll give you the rest of the
- 9:40Speaker 1: numbers a little late on the show five O two
- 9:43Speaker 1: three eight four fourteen fifty five O two four to
- 9:45Speaker 1: one four fourteen fifty. You want to text in on
- 9:47Speaker 1: the Whiskey Thief text liner, you can tweet me at
- 9:49Speaker 1: just the Cat Radio. Are we on YouTube today? We are?
- 9:52Speaker 1: We are okay, good hello everybody out there. So if
- 9:54Speaker 1: you want to join us on YouTube, you can do that.
- 9:56Speaker 1: At YouTube. Uh search for Big Sports Radio Louisville. Is
- 10:01Speaker 1: that right?
- 10:02Speaker 3: Uh?
- 10:03Speaker 1: Yes, I'm still surprised I remember that. But anyway, it's
- 10:06Speaker 1: good to have you back. I'm glad you had fun,
- 10:09Speaker 1: but I miss you. I mean you we haven't been
- 10:11Speaker 1: together for a week. It's been since last Wednesday because
- 10:14Speaker 1: I took off Thursday and Friday, and then you took
- 10:17Speaker 1: off Friday, Monday, Tuesday, and you know, Dugan Ryan Sons,
- 10:22Speaker 1: Pat and Trade took over for you Monday and Tuesday,
- 10:25Speaker 1: did a great job and I appreciate that. And so anyway,
- 10:30Speaker 1: I'm kind of bummed that of the news you just
- 10:33Speaker 1: gave me a couple of minutes ago. So anyway, is
- 10:36Speaker 1: it me? Is it because you know Justin's not here anymore?
- 10:39Speaker 1: You're now leaving? Be honest, is Matthew? Is it me
- 10:43Speaker 1: that the reason all these people are leaving? Yes?
- 10:49Speaker 2: Come on, are you kidding me? No, it's not entirely
- 10:52Speaker 2: Michael Bennett. It might be Michael Bennett, like forty five percent?
- 10:56Speaker 2: Are you really forty five percent? The reason is because
- 10:59Speaker 2: of me?
- 11:00Speaker 1: I mean, i'd say, so, what did I do to you?
- 11:03Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm trying to figure that out.
- 11:06Speaker 2: You're one of my favorite people, okay, because okay, yeah,
- 11:11Speaker 2: I hope not. It literally was just like it just
- 11:13Speaker 2: ended up logistically being easier for me financially to move
- 11:17Speaker 2: at the same time. Yet, yes, I told them on Sunday,
- 11:22Speaker 2: I emailed Trey, uh, Troy and Dugan.
- 11:25Speaker 1: All them on something you did. Okay, Well, it's a
- 11:28Speaker 1: real bomber.
- 11:28Speaker 2: So my technical the last day I gave them. I
- 11:31Speaker 2: try to give as much not as possible. So it's
- 11:33Speaker 2: July the fifth, which is a Sunday, just in case
- 11:37Speaker 2: they have anything going on the weekend.
- 11:38Speaker 1: So technically July third is yeah, Friday. Yeah. Well, how
- 11:40Speaker 1: excited are you about the Louisville Kings. Super excited? Chris
- 11:45Speaker 1: Redman is going to be an NFL coach here soon?
- 11:48Speaker 1: You really think so? No, I don't think.
- 11:52Speaker 3: No.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I don't think yeah.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think he has done a great job
- 11:56Speaker 2: of You know, when that team was zero and three
- 11:57Speaker 2: to start the season, turn around and you make the
- 11:59Speaker 2: night of Bowl and first year, right, you have to
- 12:01Speaker 2: fire your offensive line, had your offensive head coach, your
- 12:04Speaker 2: offensive line coach, right, your first after the first game
- 12:07Speaker 2: of the season, trade your quarterback away after three or
- 12:09Speaker 2: four games in this season.
- 12:11Speaker 1: And you're running back.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're running back. You completely redid the entire
- 12:14Speaker 2: running back room. You bring in James James Robinson.
- 12:18Speaker 1: It's he's done. A fan has a job.
- 12:21Speaker 2: And they right now as we speak this first time,
- 12:23Speaker 2: we said all year they're the best team remaining in
- 12:25Speaker 2: this league.
- 12:25Speaker 1: So really, and I don't even know who they're playing
- 12:29Speaker 1: in the final game. They're playing d C. They're okay,
- 12:31Speaker 1: and that game is being played where in d C?
- 12:34Speaker 1: Why is it being played in DC when Louisville should
- 12:37Speaker 1: be hosting So technically it was supposed to be a
- 12:39Speaker 1: neutral site. Yes, they decided that way early in the
- 12:42Speaker 1: season that was gonna be played in DC, and then
- 12:44Speaker 1: d C just happened to Oh okay, So it's like
- 12:46Speaker 1: Tampa Bay Buccaneers making the Super Bowl and by the way,
- 12:51Speaker 1: uh Tampa is hosting the Super Bowl? Is basically what
- 12:54Speaker 1: you're telling me. Yes, oh, I thought you meant they
- 12:56Speaker 1: were hosting it this year. No, no, no, it's like,
- 12:58Speaker 1: oh that's convenience, but no, no, yeah, this happened basically
- 13:02Speaker 1: what it is. Yes, yeah, okay, all right, then, well I.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Think that it should have been played in an NFL
- 13:08Speaker 2: stadium in a neutral site or something.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Yeah, but it would have been empty, wouldn't it. Do
- 13:12Speaker 1: you think that many people would be going?
- 13:14Speaker 2: I mean, the Kings had like a bunch of people
- 13:17Speaker 2: pull up to the Saint Louis game this weekend, like
- 13:19Speaker 2: hundreds of people.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Did they really? Yes? Did you? Well, you didn't go,
- 13:24Speaker 1: but yeah, I'm really happy for them. This is I
- 13:26Speaker 1: haven't been to a game yet. I'll go to a
- 13:29Speaker 1: game eventually, but good for them. I'm really happy for them.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Let's talk about Jamal Kauff Crawford. You know, he's been
- 13:36Speaker 1: done with his uh NBA announcing gig for a little
- 13:40Speaker 1: while now. Uh he's still looking to become a coach.
- 13:44Speaker 1: There is still an opening at the University of Kentucky,
- 13:47Speaker 1: and you know they've UK has kind of delayed this
- 13:52Speaker 1: a little bit, trying to make certain that the job
- 13:56Speaker 1: position is still open. And you know, there's a deadline
- 14:02Speaker 1: that you have to have to be able to apply
- 14:04Speaker 1: for this, and they keep extending that. Now it's been
- 14:08Speaker 1: extended till June the sixteenth for him to apply. And
- 14:13Speaker 1: then a tweet came out where Jamal Crawford said on
- 14:19Speaker 1: the tweet, I know for a fact, I can coach
- 14:22Speaker 1: in the NBA one thousand percent. Now, this is kind
- 14:28Speaker 1: of like he's going to the route of Rajon Rondo
- 14:31Speaker 1: and he's never coached the NBA, never had a head
- 14:34Speaker 1: coaching job. Well, yeah, he's had the head coaching job. No,
- 14:37Speaker 1: he hasn't had a head coaching job. He's just coached
- 14:39Speaker 1: his son's travel team, is all he's basically done. So
- 14:42Speaker 1: here he is doing this. What do you think about
- 14:47Speaker 1: Jamal Crawford tweeting out that he can coach in the NBA.
- 14:53Speaker 2: I mean, he has a lot of NBA experience. Maybe
- 14:56Speaker 2: he could coach a lebron team that doesn't have a coach.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I don't think that he'd coach a championship team.
- 15:03Speaker 1: You don't think so. Now, what makes you say he
- 15:05Speaker 1: can't coach a championship team? I mean he has no
- 15:07Speaker 1: coaching experience. You're exactly right.
- 15:09Speaker 2: And it's not like coaching high school or college where
- 15:12Speaker 2: you have guys who buy into your system who want
- 15:15Speaker 2: to win.
- 15:15Speaker 1: You're coaching a bunch of divas.
- 15:17Speaker 2: You're coaching a bunch of guys who are getting paid
- 15:18Speaker 2: hundreds of millions of dollars a year and they're gonna
- 15:21Speaker 2: go They're gonna have a coach that's has no experience
- 15:23Speaker 2: before at all, and they're gonna say, I'm supposed to
- 15:26Speaker 2: listen to you.
- 15:27Speaker 1: But let's be honest. Coaching, you're not coaching in an NBA,
- 15:32Speaker 1: you're managing. Is that fair to say?
- 15:34Speaker 2: I think yes it is. I think it depends on
- 15:36Speaker 2: what team you're on though.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Really Okay, so the openings right now, I think if
- 15:41Speaker 1: you're like the Celtics, like Joe Missoula is a coach,
- 15:43Speaker 1: so he'll listen to him. Yes, Dallas, Portland and Chicago
- 15:47Speaker 1: still don't have a coach right now. I think what
- 15:50Speaker 1: New Orleans did was horrible. They they hired a horrible coach.
- 15:54Speaker 1: But Dallas, Portland in Chicago, Uh, within those positions, do
- 15:58Speaker 1: you think they're a coach or a manager?
- 16:01Speaker 2: Portland coach, Dallas manager, Chicago there's nobody really on Chicago.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I'd say Chicago coach. Yeah, so you got two out
- 16:11Speaker 1: of the three that are a coach, So where would
- 16:15Speaker 1: he fit in best? Then if he took a NBA job,
- 16:18Speaker 1: any of those three positions or you think he's not
- 16:21Speaker 1: going to get any of them? I don't think.
- 16:23Speaker 2: I mean if we're talking about which one would actually
- 16:26Speaker 2: hire somebody Jamal Crawford. It'd probably be Portland because they
- 16:29Speaker 2: just haven't been relevant since Damien Little left. I don't
- 16:35Speaker 2: see somebody like the Mavericks going out and taking a
- 16:37Speaker 2: shot on a Jamal Crawford has no experience yet, and
- 16:40Speaker 2: I don't see the Bulls doing I don't see the
- 16:41Speaker 2: bulls doing that either, right, It's I just don't And
- 16:45Speaker 2: this is like, I love Jamal Crawford. I'll watch them
- 16:47Speaker 2: growing up all the time, but it's one where like
- 16:49Speaker 2: you just have no experience, So like, how would I
- 16:51Speaker 2: vouch for you if I am a player, if I'm
- 16:54Speaker 2: another coach in the league, or if I'm a resource
- 16:57Speaker 2: for you? Well, yeah, he coached his child's team a
- 17:00Speaker 2: couple of times. Like what are you supposed to say?
- 17:03Speaker 2: You want to put this multi billion dollar franchise at
- 17:06Speaker 2: the want to You'll put Jamal Crawford at the helm
- 17:09Speaker 2: for it?
- 17:11Speaker 1: I can tell you I probably wouldn't. I think that
- 17:14Speaker 1: if he went the route of college, because he has
- 17:16Speaker 1: mentioned that. Listen, if I go back to college, I
- 17:19Speaker 1: have had a few other schools contact me besides Universe
- 17:22Speaker 1: of Kentucky. But if I go to college. I'm going
- 17:25Speaker 1: to UK, which makes me feel pretty good. But if
- 17:30Speaker 1: let's just let's just go this route, if they stick
- 17:34Speaker 1: to the UK that is, sticks to the June sixteenth deadline,
- 17:39Speaker 1: which is what that's next week, isn't it. Yeah, if
- 17:42Speaker 1: they stick to that, I think they're not going to
- 17:45Speaker 1: be able to get Jamal Crawford. But if they extend it,
- 17:49Speaker 1: I kind of feel good about it that they're kind
- 17:50Speaker 1: of stalling for him. I think they've been stalling for
- 17:52Speaker 1: a while anyway. But I don't know how long it's
- 17:55Speaker 1: going to take for Dallas, Portland and Chicago to eliminate
- 17:58Speaker 1: him as a candidate. That's the part that concerns me
- 18:01Speaker 1: because he might hold out, not get hired, and then
- 18:04Speaker 1: guess what, UK has already hired another assistant coach. If
- 18:07Speaker 1: UK was able to get Jamal Crawford, that would be
- 18:12Speaker 1: yet another huge git for UK and Mark Pope's coaching staff.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Do you agree? I don't know yet. Why would you
- 18:22Speaker 1: say that.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I'm kind of surprised, would it be, like, because I
- 18:24Speaker 2: don't really know, would he be there for recruiting?
- 18:27Speaker 3: Like?
- 18:27Speaker 1: Is that what absolutely? I'm saying?
- 18:29Speaker 2: Like, Yeah, he definitely would have that. No, Mo Williams is,
- 18:32Speaker 2: and he's doing a phenomenal job at it. But like,
- 18:35Speaker 2: do how many people do you need for recruiting?
- 18:38Speaker 1: Is my question?
- 18:39Speaker 2: And like, what what else does Jamal Crawford bring with
- 18:41Speaker 2: no coaching experience?
- 18:43Speaker 1: Well, to me, the NBA swagger, I mean, players would
- 18:46Speaker 1: probably want to come play for him just because of
- 18:48Speaker 1: the fact that he's a tremendous success. I think he'd
- 18:53Speaker 1: be a good get for a multitude of reasons. Yes,
- 18:56Speaker 1: to me, you can't get enough recruiters. You think it's
- 18:59Speaker 1: a problem, have then more than one recruiter on a
- 19:02Speaker 1: basketball team.
- 19:04Speaker 2: I'm not saying it is. I'm just saying that at
- 19:06Speaker 2: some point your coaches need to be able to coach
- 19:10Speaker 2: like they're not. Like what happens when the recruiting's over,
- 19:13Speaker 2: is Mark Pope just gonna have to coach offense, defense,
- 19:15Speaker 2: draw off the schemes.
- 19:16Speaker 1: No, I think I think both of them could coach,
- 19:19Speaker 1: and plus it's gonna help get maybe. I mean, I
- 19:21Speaker 1: Green Crawford Son to Kentucky. I can coach like I can.
- 19:26Speaker 1: I can draw stuff up.
- 19:28Speaker 2: It's like these dudes have like Moe Williams, LEAs has
- 19:31Speaker 2: a little bit of experience, you know, like he had,
- 19:32Speaker 2: he's been a head coach, He's been a head coach,
- 19:35Speaker 2: And like, I'm not, I I cool agree with you that, Like, yeah,
- 19:38Speaker 2: they have the recruiting edge because of their history in
- 19:40Speaker 2: the NBA. They have the connections with the NBA. That's
- 19:42Speaker 2: what players want to play for if they're going to college.
- 19:45Speaker 2: But like it's my thing is like when they get here,
- 19:49Speaker 2: what are they do? They just stop? What are they doing?
- 19:52Speaker 2: Are they like player development people? Are they like player coaches?
- 19:55Speaker 3: Like what?
- 19:56Speaker 2: Because if it's just like is it just Mark Pope coach?
- 20:00Speaker 2: These guys and all these coaches are brought in just
- 20:02Speaker 2: a rule. I don't think that at all. I think
- 20:04Speaker 2: they're there to coach as well. And I think you're
- 20:06Speaker 2: really discounting the fact that they have a lot of
- 20:09Speaker 2: tremendous experience that they're bringing into the program. What experience
- 20:13Speaker 2: does he have? Okay, I'm asking valid questions. I'm I'm
- 20:20Speaker 2: not this is not me dog or anything. I love
- 20:22Speaker 2: Jamal Crawford. I think Moe Williams is a great pyre
- 20:24Speaker 2: for UK. Yeah, I understand that Jamal Crawford will help
- 20:27Speaker 2: will help with recruiting a lot. I'm just saying, like,
- 20:29Speaker 2: what else does he do?
- 20:31Speaker 1: Yeah, we're gonna take a break. I'll tell you after
- 20:33Speaker 1: we get back. Let me get let me formulate my thoughts,
- 20:36Speaker 1: and then I'll tell you exactly what I think Jamal
- 20:38Speaker 1: Crawford brings to the table, and you might disagree with it.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I'm kind of surprised by your take, quite honestly. But
- 20:45Speaker 1: five O two three eight four fourteen fifty. If you
- 20:47Speaker 1: want to call in five two four one four fourteen fifty,
- 20:49Speaker 1: want to text in on the Whisky th text line,
- 20:51Speaker 1: or you can tweet me it just a cat radierst
- 20:53Speaker 1: stay right there. Matthew flew back just to be with me,
- 20:56Speaker 1: and he's not really happy about it. I don't know.
- 20:59Speaker 1: You tell me. I think you are. Stay right there.
- 21:01Speaker 1: This is just a cast.
- 21:16Speaker 3: So a sex.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Five O two three four fourteen fifty. If you want
- 21:41Speaker 1: to call in five O two four one four fourteen fifty,
- 21:43Speaker 1: you want to text in on the Whiskey Thief text line,
- 21:45Speaker 1: ain't tweet me at just the cat radio. So it's
- 21:47Speaker 1: it's a yeah, I don't know what's going on. I
- 21:49Speaker 1: I I uh, I've been kind of disappointed. Not much
- 21:52Speaker 1: going on, the text line and uh so, uh but
- 21:55Speaker 1: I'd love to hear from if you're listening. So, uh
- 21:58Speaker 1: but I I The other part I'm kind of surprised
- 22:02Speaker 1: about is that you were questioning whether or not Jamal
- 22:05Speaker 1: Crawford what does he bring to Kentucky. You know, he
- 22:08Speaker 1: was considered one of the best ball handlers in the NBA.
- 22:12Speaker 1: He was considered the best sixth man in the NBA.
- 22:14Speaker 1: You don't think that's bringing anything to Kentucky. You don't
- 22:18Speaker 1: think he can teach the guards how to handle the
- 22:21Speaker 1: ball better. You don't think he can teach players off
- 22:24Speaker 1: the bench how to be finished. Finished You smart, Elec.
- 22:28Speaker 1: You don't think he's This is why I'm gonna miss you. Okay,
- 22:30Speaker 1: this is why I'm gonna miss you. You get me
- 22:33Speaker 1: worked up. But uh, you don't think he can teach
- 22:36Speaker 1: the bench players how to come off the bench and
- 22:37Speaker 1: be a great player and an asset to your team.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Go ahead, you know how many people in the NBA
- 22:43Speaker 2: can do that? Like, you just listed a bunch of stuff.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Oh my god, any player in the NBA that's ever
- 22:52Speaker 2: played game. Okay, so you could have Brian Scalabrini from.
- 22:58Speaker 1: UML talking right here. By the way, this is killed
- 23:01Speaker 1: just U of L talking.
- 23:02Speaker 2: You can have Brian Scalabrini, NBA champion could come to
- 23:07Speaker 2: Kentucky and show these kids how to win a championship
- 23:09Speaker 2: and he never played a minute.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Well he doesn't as a ring. Doesn't it help that
- 23:12Speaker 1: maybe his son is a pretty good recruit as well. Yes,
- 23:15Speaker 1: that does help. Okay, there you go. That might be
- 23:18Speaker 1: another solid reason right there. I've given you that part
- 23:20Speaker 1: is that recruiting. He will be greated.
- 23:22Speaker 2: He will get guys in there, whether it's the Sun
- 23:24Speaker 2: or not, he will get guys to go to UK.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Yes.
- 23:28Speaker 2: My only thing is like he just has zero experience
- 23:31Speaker 2: and then you're going to the mecca of college basketball
- 23:35Speaker 2: and then trying to say that you could go coach
- 23:37Speaker 2: Brady team in the NBA.
- 23:39Speaker 1: I just I just thank you for admitting that UK
- 23:41Speaker 1: is the mecca. I really appreciate. I would love every
- 23:45Speaker 1: U of L fan to be able to say that
- 23:47Speaker 1: and follow his suit what you just said. Every U
- 23:51Speaker 1: of L fan has to say UK is the mecca.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I mean, they have more wins than anybody, They have
- 23:56Speaker 2: almost more championships than anybody. Yeah, and don't forget it either.
- 24:00Speaker 2: I don't nobody left me. You have a gun to
- 24:03Speaker 2: my head every time year.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Please don't move, I mean I do. That's the kind
- 24:11Speaker 1: of stuff that gets me so charged up when you're
- 24:13Speaker 1: like that. All right, so but all right, let's do
- 24:18Speaker 1: a little comparison, because how can you, seriously, how can
- 24:22Speaker 1: you be excited about if you want to flip the switch?
- 24:25Speaker 1: How could you be excited when U of L hired Pat?
- 24:29Speaker 1: I almost said Pat McAfee, Pat, whatever his name is, Kelsey,
- 24:34Speaker 1: because he brought nothing. Yes, he was a head coach
- 24:37Speaker 1: by coaching experience where he was at College of Charleston.
- 24:42Speaker 1: He still has seven knowledge of Charleston.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Let's let's put this okay, let's put this in the
- 24:48Speaker 2: average human being mined Michael. You and I are applying
- 24:51Speaker 2: for the same job in our career. Let's say it
- 24:53Speaker 2: makes sixty grand a year. I have seven years of experience.
- 24:58Speaker 1: You have none. You might have been a janitor at
- 25:04Speaker 1: the company before. But I cleaned up the gym. I
- 25:07Speaker 1: cleaned up the gym and made sure there was enough
- 25:09Speaker 1: air in the balls and there was net on the goal.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Doore are they gonna hire?
- 25:13Speaker 3: Oh?
- 25:13Speaker 1: Come on, man, you are just all over the place.
- 25:16Speaker 1: And I love it. But by the way, it's not
- 25:18Speaker 1: even nine o'clock in your acting like this. Okay, I
- 25:20Speaker 1: got a good night dress last night. I'm glad you did.
- 25:22Speaker 1: You need to get one another one tonight, So all right, Well,
- 25:25Speaker 1: I just think he's a good hire. I think he
- 25:27Speaker 1: would bring an asset to to Mark Pope and in company.
- 25:32Speaker 1: I don't. I don't know why you would say differently,
- 25:34Speaker 1: but okay, that's no problem. I do want to ask
- 25:36Speaker 1: you this though. Let's switch gears for a second. Did
- 25:40Speaker 1: you see, uh, have you watched any of the NHL?
- 25:44Speaker 2: Not the Stanley I've watched like the playoffs. I have
- 25:47Speaker 2: honestly not watched anything.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Have you not watched that I watched. The one and
- 25:52Speaker 1: only game I watched was Saturday night, and I didn't watch.
- 25:56Speaker 1: I watched a couple of months last night. But this
- 25:59Speaker 1: has been in a really exciting NHL between Las Vegas
- 26:03Speaker 1: and Carolina. I don't know why. I still don't know
- 26:06Speaker 1: why Carolina's called the Panther the hurricanes.
- 26:11Speaker 2: We were driving through I told you were driving through
- 26:14Speaker 2: clear water the other day. Yeah, I didn't realize. This
- 26:17Speaker 2: is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Clearwater high school. Okay,
- 26:21Speaker 2: really nice high school.
- 26:22Speaker 1: It's huge. Yeah, they're called the tornadoes. Okay, why is
- 26:28Speaker 1: that dumb?
- 26:29Speaker 2: You're on the beach and they don't have tornadoes down there?
- 26:31Speaker 1: Sure we do. You have tornadoes in Florida. Absolutely have
- 26:35Speaker 1: tornadoes in Florida. We had one about a month ago
- 26:38Speaker 1: where in Tampa. You're lying, No, I am not. Don't
- 26:43Speaker 1: you think when hurricanes come to land they turn into
- 26:46Speaker 1: tornadoes as well? Hurricanes have tornadoes. You didn't know this.
- 26:52Speaker 2: I don't think those are reliably the same thing. Okay,
- 26:56Speaker 2: all right, you're right, you're I just helped. I just
- 26:59Speaker 2: I might as well.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Just aren't calling you Patricia right now because I can't
- 27:02Speaker 1: get you to agree on anything I say. Florida has tornadoes?
- 27:08Speaker 1: And why you think Florida. Don't take your headphones off.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Listen to me. Florida has tornadoes. Am I talking too
- 27:16Speaker 1: loud to you?
- 27:16Speaker 3: No?
- 27:17Speaker 1: Somebody was about to call Oh is that what it
- 27:18Speaker 1: was going to answer? Oh?
- 27:19Speaker 2: Okay, but how do you know somebody's about the call? Well,
- 27:22Speaker 2: they were calling your I mean I was about an answer.
- 27:25Speaker 1: So I am amazed. Now you know people are calling you.
- 27:28Speaker 2: The person that called in I had to miss your
- 27:31Speaker 2: call because Michael Bennett didn't like that that we have
- 27:33Speaker 2: phones off.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Don't let you know that. Go ahead and call back
- 27:37Speaker 1: five oh two three eight four. I don't want to
- 27:39Speaker 1: talk to you anymore. I don't blame him, I mean,
- 27:41Speaker 1: I I'm just curious if there are any other UK
- 27:44Speaker 1: fans out there that think Jamal Crawford would be an
- 27:47Speaker 1: asset to the UH to the bench and to the
- 27:50Speaker 1: UK basketball program. I think he would be, in fact,
- 27:53Speaker 1: not think I know he would be an asset. But yes,
- 27:56Speaker 1: Florida has tornadoes. You're looking it up, aren't you. I
- 27:59Speaker 1: am you don't trust anything. You're a guy. You're getting
- 28:02Speaker 1: like Justine. Now, I didn't know this, Yes, go on
- 28:05Speaker 1: say it.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Florida sees more tornadoes per square mile than any other USA.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 28:11Speaker 1: That is actually mind blowing. I didn't know that you
- 28:14Speaker 1: you want to say anything to Michael Bennett right now?
- 28:16Speaker 1: You want to say anything to me? I just proved
- 28:19Speaker 1: you were right? Yes? But is there anything else you
- 28:21Speaker 1: want to add to that? Is there something I need
- 28:23Speaker 1: to ask? I apologize, Michael, apologize you were right? What
- 28:27Speaker 1: do I need to apologize? I was I right? Though?
- 28:30Speaker 1: I just said you were right. I didn't know that. Yeah.
- 28:34Speaker 1: It's also the lightning capital of the world too. That's
- 28:36Speaker 1: hence me Yeah, hence why uh Tampa Bay lightning? Yeah,
- 28:40Speaker 1: it's it's it's it gets crazy weather down there. Are
- 28:42Speaker 1: you ready to be moving down there? And now you're
- 28:45Speaker 1: gonna have to deal with hurricane season? Yep? You have
- 28:48Speaker 1: to be prepared. You have to have all kinds of
- 28:50Speaker 1: crap in your home. And then if one comes, what
- 28:53Speaker 1: are you gonna do? Are you gonna take off and
- 28:54Speaker 1: go somewhere else? Are you gonna stay right there and
- 28:56Speaker 1: fight it? I mean, I'm gonna go outside and fight,
- 28:59Speaker 1: are you really? Yeah? Yeah, well that'll work. But I
- 29:05Speaker 1: did that one time and that was enough for me.
- 29:07Speaker 1: I mean, I really am excited to move down there.
- 29:09Speaker 1: You should be excited, and I'm glad you are, because
- 29:12Speaker 1: you know what your life is getting ready to change
- 29:14Speaker 1: in a big way, and I'm happy for you. I
- 29:16Speaker 1: just know I I better get something in the mail,
- 29:19Speaker 1: That's all I know. I'll be there, you will. I'll
- 29:25Speaker 1: be the center of attention when the day happens. If
- 29:28Speaker 1: you ever get married, Patricia will get something in the mail.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Oh really, Patricia will get in the mail, but you
- 29:33Speaker 1: won't invite me. That will be the biggest lap in
- 29:36Speaker 1: the face anyway. All right, well from that standpoint, all right,
- 29:40Speaker 1: who do you think has been more exciting? Do you
- 29:42Speaker 1: think the NHL Stanley Cup has been more exciting or
- 29:46Speaker 1: do you think the NBA Final has been more exciting?
- 29:51Speaker 1: I think it's almost all right? Tell me why? I
- 29:55Speaker 1: mean the NBA this year, I don't.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I have said it on pulling shows that the playoffs
- 30:01Speaker 2: this year just feel like they haven't hit as hard
- 30:02Speaker 2: as they usually do. I feel like the East is
- 30:07Speaker 2: really down. The New York Nicks have surprised me, I
- 30:09Speaker 2: will say in this, in this NBA Finals so far, yes,
- 30:12Speaker 2: but I think most of the East is on a
- 30:14Speaker 2: downturn right now. There's a lot of major players in
- 30:17Speaker 2: the East that are hurt. A lot of other players
- 30:18Speaker 2: that are coming towards the end of their time or
- 30:20Speaker 2: their coaches are getting spun around and moved around. This
- 30:23Speaker 2: the West is really dominant. I feel like it's kind
- 30:26Speaker 2: of you start down O two in the NBA Finals.
- 30:30Speaker 2: It's just not a good look for viewership. It's just
- 30:33Speaker 2: not fun to watch that. And then now I think
- 30:34Speaker 2: it's going to jump up back again because the Spurs
- 30:36Speaker 2: one in New York the other night, and then all
- 30:38Speaker 2: the news of all the New York people getting arrested
- 30:41Speaker 2: and hurting the Spurs fans has brought eyes to it
- 30:44Speaker 2: in an unfortunate way.
- 30:46Speaker 1: But I hate to tell you, I didn't see that.
- 30:48Speaker 1: You didn't see that stuff.
- 30:49Speaker 3: No.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Oh, there's like a lot of New York citizens that
- 30:52Speaker 2: were arrested after the game because they were literally jumping
- 30:55Speaker 2: Spurs fans.
- 30:55Speaker 1: That's terrible, like harming. Why would you do something like
- 30:58Speaker 1: that now you're just fans for their team. They did
- 31:01Speaker 1: nothing to hurt.
- 31:01Speaker 2: They did the same thing last year whenever the Pacers
- 31:04Speaker 2: were in town. There's there was a famous guy who
- 31:06Speaker 2: went viral who after the Pacers won in New York,
- 31:10Speaker 2: they went and played the next game in Indy and
- 31:13Speaker 2: people were throwing stuff at him, jumping them, ripping his
- 31:16Speaker 2: jersey off, and this and that. Tyres Halburton flew him
- 31:19Speaker 2: out to New York again and got in courtside seats
- 31:21Speaker 2: the next game and that was the game they won
- 31:23Speaker 2: the series song, which was cool, But no, I mean
- 31:27Speaker 2: it's for just I guess that I haven't watched the
- 31:29Speaker 2: NHL playoff the NFL Finals so far, so maybe it's different.
- 31:32Speaker 2: But if they're tied at this point, every game from
- 31:35Speaker 2: what I've seen when I when I have followed it,
- 31:37Speaker 2: like on ESPN stuff, it has been exciting. It's been close,
- 31:39Speaker 2: games has got big comebacks. The NBA has just kind
- 31:42Speaker 2: of been like two teams. One of them beats up
- 31:44Speaker 2: on the one, the other one beats up on the other.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Kind of just been like a they win this game,
- 31:48Speaker 2: they this team wins that game, kind of back and forth,
- 31:50Speaker 2: and that's just not as interval.
- 31:52Speaker 1: That hasn't been a team yet. We've seen three games
- 31:54Speaker 1: in the finals so far in the NBA, hadn't been
- 31:56Speaker 1: a team won a home game yet, which I think
- 31:59Speaker 1: is kind of crazy. I figured that the series was
- 32:03Speaker 1: over when the Knicks came back to New York, and
- 32:04Speaker 1: then the Knicks lost the game night before last.
- 32:08Speaker 2: It's just a bunch of guys who'd never been to
- 32:10Speaker 2: the finals before.
- 32:11Speaker 1: You think this is there's a lot more pressure on
- 32:13Speaker 1: New York to win in New York now, Yes, I
- 32:15Speaker 1: do too, and I feel like the series is going
- 32:17Speaker 1: to be tied going back to San Antonio.
- 32:19Speaker 2: If they somehow tie the series before going back to over.
- 32:24Speaker 1: I agree. I think that's the same case as well.
- 32:27Speaker 1: And you you've been rooting for San Antonio the entire time, right, Yes,
- 32:32Speaker 1: and I'm rooting for the Knicks. I don't know why
- 32:35Speaker 1: I should be rooting for both and be happy that
- 32:37Speaker 1: both one of the two wins. But I just I
- 32:40Speaker 1: don't know. I want, I really want to see Karl
- 32:44Speaker 1: Anthony Towns win a title and that will validate his career.
- 32:48Speaker 1: And yeah, I kind of I empathize with him because
- 32:51Speaker 1: there was a great article about his relationship that he
- 32:55Speaker 1: had with his mom and how he's overcoming the loss
- 32:59Speaker 1: of her, and I I certainly identify with that, and
- 33:03Speaker 1: because I knew how close he was with his mom
- 33:05Speaker 1: and how close he is with his dad still, and
- 33:08Speaker 1: just part of me just like I feel bad for him,
- 33:10Speaker 1: and I want him to succeed at that, get an MVP,
- 33:13Speaker 1: because he certainly has dominated. He's played better than Wimby has.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Is that fair to say.
- 33:20Speaker 2: In the overall of the series, Yes, yeah, not like
- 33:23Speaker 2: the last game.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I'd say no, no, no, no, no, I'm talking over all
- 33:27Speaker 1: overall yes, yea, which has been a surprise as well.
- 33:31Speaker 1: But uh, Anyway, I don't know I'm getting to a
- 33:33Speaker 1: point where I kind of don't like wimbyw I mean,
- 33:36Speaker 1: he threw down one of the Knicks players the other night.
- 33:39Speaker 1: It didn't get called for it or anything. They're climbing
- 33:42Speaker 1: on him every play. The other part that really irritates
- 33:45Speaker 1: me too is that the the referees are allowing celebrity
- 33:50Speaker 1: fans to come on the court and complain.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Oh yes, Spike Lee, Spike Lee, that's what you do.
- 33:55Speaker 2: That's what you get when you're when you're in when
- 33:56Speaker 2: you're a celebrity Knicks fan.
- 33:58Speaker 1: I don't like that. Spike Lee's done it every see.
- 34:01Speaker 2: The thing is this has happened a lot of people
- 34:05Speaker 2: like obviously don't follow the Knicks really like religiously. Yes,
- 34:08Speaker 2: but the Pacers, being in the East, have played the
- 34:11Speaker 2: Knicks a lot in my lifetime. This happens every time
- 34:15Speaker 2: they play in the playoffs, and now that in the
- 34:17Speaker 2: finals people are talking about it. Spike Lee is so
- 34:21Speaker 2: annoying to pay attention to. I agree, he doesn't stop.
- 34:25Speaker 2: He literally gets on the court, jumps up and down,
- 34:27Speaker 2: starts screaming. But like the game before when they were
- 34:32Speaker 2: in San Antonio, jayalen Bruns was talking about some Spurs
- 34:35Speaker 2: fan was telling him he was a flopper and was
- 34:37Speaker 2: trying to get him ejected. That's too much. The Spike
- 34:41Speaker 2: Lee can run on the court whenever he wants. He's
- 34:44Speaker 2: like yelling at the officials.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and if that were you and me, we'd be
- 34:48Speaker 1: thrown out of the game or kicked out immediately. Yeah, exactly.
- 34:51Speaker 1: And the fact that I am picking on Spike Lee,
- 34:55Speaker 1: but it's not fair that a celebrity, well so called celebrity.
- 35:00Speaker 1: I don't think he's done anything in thirty years, but
- 35:03Speaker 1: uh can get on the court complain about that and
- 35:05Speaker 1: not be ejected from a ball game. I mean, you
- 35:07Speaker 1: need to treat celebrities and regular people fans the exact
- 35:13Speaker 1: same way.
- 35:13Speaker 2: The thing is is the Knicks will never do that
- 35:16Speaker 2: because they just like have a fan base of celebrities
- 35:20Speaker 2: because you know what I mean, Like the tickets are
- 35:22Speaker 2: so high priced that nobody can go.
- 35:24Speaker 1: So it's just a normal fan. Yeah, the normal fan
- 35:26Speaker 1: can't go.
- 35:27Speaker 2: And what really irks me is that like all the fans,
- 35:30Speaker 2: like you know, the Kylie Jenners, the Timothy Shallo Mays,
- 35:33Speaker 2: the Jimmy Fallons.
- 35:34Speaker 1: The the Spike Lee's, they all go for free.
- 35:36Speaker 2: You know, they don't pay for those tickets, like the
- 35:39Speaker 2: Knicks send them out there because they want attention. Now
- 35:42Speaker 2: they're big fans. I'm not saying they're not fans, but
- 35:44Speaker 2: like they they are at the point where I don't
- 35:46Speaker 2: know if all of them are big fans. Well, Spike Lee,
- 35:48Speaker 2: I'll say, and Timothy Shallome are I would agree. They
- 35:50Speaker 2: made it. No, they're big fans. Ben Stiller's another one.
- 35:54Speaker 2: But they've gotten to the point where they're so used
- 35:57Speaker 2: to going. The Knicks just send them wherever they want,
- 36:00Speaker 2: and it's become a publicity than See.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Here's here's what irritates my son that lives in New
- 36:04Speaker 1: York City. He said, with the Knicks fans, mostly it's
- 36:09Speaker 1: just people that go there to be seen, not to
- 36:11Speaker 1: actually watch the game. Yes, he said, that's what irritates
- 36:15Speaker 1: him the most. It's like a it's a publicity stunt
- 36:18Speaker 1: for every Yeah. Now, yeah, it's just to be scene,
- 36:21Speaker 1: not to watch the game. So I and I think
- 36:24Speaker 1: that what irritates a lot of the Knicks fans.
- 36:26Speaker 2: And that's that's good for the Knicks. That means that
- 36:29Speaker 2: you have a brand that people want to go to.
- 36:31Speaker 2: But like, yeah, if you're if you're a sports fan
- 36:33Speaker 2: in New York City, you're screwed.
- 36:36Speaker 1: It's over. Yeah, it is all right. We got to
- 36:38Speaker 1: take another break. Favelo two three four fourteen fifty five
- 36:40Speaker 1: two four one four fourteen fifty. If you want to
- 36:43Speaker 1: text in on the Whiskey Thief text lines, stay right
- 36:45Speaker 1: there more just cats coming right up.
- 36:57Speaker 3: Seas game in. Everything is okay, She's go.
- 37:12Speaker 1: It's good to two fabo two three eight four fourteen
- 37:23Speaker 1: fifty is uh. You know, I have our last quick
- 37:25Speaker 1: segment before the end of the first hour. But uh,
- 37:28Speaker 1: if you want to text in five O two four
- 37:30Speaker 1: one four fourteen fifty On the Whiskey Thief text line,
- 37:32Speaker 1: one person said, I don't think Mo and Jamal are
- 37:36Speaker 1: there to really be x O guys between Mark and Cody.
- 37:40Speaker 1: I think they will come up with the game plan.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Moe and Jamal are there to recruit, be the cool
- 37:45Speaker 1: factor and to help these kids build a skill set
- 37:48Speaker 1: to get them to the next level. I agree with that.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Is that what you're saying. I agree with that. I
- 37:53Speaker 1: think all of them are there for a degree of
- 37:55Speaker 1: x's and no's, but I think that there are different
- 37:57Speaker 1: degrees of coaches that are in Yes, you're right, there
- 38:01Speaker 1: are coaches that are there to come up with the
- 38:04Speaker 1: game plan. There are coaches there specifically, and I'm probably
- 38:08Speaker 1: right there with the cool factor thing. I yeah, that's
- 38:11Speaker 1: there is a cool factor with those two guys. Fair, Yeah,
- 38:14Speaker 1: that's definitely fair. Okay, John here, Michael, you are right,
- 38:18Speaker 1: Matthew way off? Can I emphasize that a little more
- 38:22Speaker 1: way off? Crawford would make a big impact on player
- 38:27Speaker 1: mentorship and development. He has played at the highest level
- 38:30Speaker 1: and has coached as an assistant coach at at the
- 38:33Speaker 1: high school level, and he has experience with aau development
- 38:37Speaker 1: with young players as a trainer. Kentucky would help develop
- 38:41Speaker 1: Crawford more to become a head coach one day if
- 38:44Speaker 1: he wants it, and Crawford brings a big boost to
- 38:46Speaker 1: recruitment and player development to Kentucky basketball. This is a
- 38:50Speaker 1: win for BBN coach Pope and soon to be coach Crawford. Well,
- 38:55Speaker 1: at least, I hope. So there you go.
- 38:59Speaker 2: Tell me you don't think he's a good high I
- 39:01Speaker 2: never said he wasn't exactly what he said. That is
- 39:04Speaker 2: a word do you use exactly? I said, he doesn't
- 39:07Speaker 2: have any experience.
- 39:09Speaker 1: I always enjoy putting words in your mouth. Okay, just
- 39:11Speaker 1: to let you know that we down what. Everything's okay,
- 39:16Speaker 1: but uh, can we talk about this whole Pat McAfee thing.
- 39:21Speaker 1: There's a Pat McAfee thing reportedly getting a new contract
- 39:24Speaker 1: from ESPN that's worth over sixty million a year.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Sorry to hear that for you, Michael must be heartbroken.
- 39:33Speaker 2: I'm trying till they announce Stephen A.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Smith as president. Oh my gosh, man. You know, I
- 39:38Speaker 1: had a conversation with my son over the weekend and
- 39:42Speaker 1: he made the comment. And this is you know, this
- 39:44Speaker 1: is a twenty eight year old that's making a comment
- 39:48Speaker 1: here that he wishes ESPN or a news station would
- 39:53Speaker 1: come along where they only play sports. He has zero
- 39:58Speaker 1: interest and listen two guys that have never played the
- 40:02Speaker 1: sport a little bit and have an opinion out there.
- 40:05Speaker 1: He goes, I just don't listen to it. I don't care.
- 40:07Speaker 1: I want to watch sports. I don't care if it's
- 40:10Speaker 1: ping pong or something else. I just want to watch sports.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Why isn't there a station out there that only plays sports?
- 40:18Speaker 1: Do you agree with that? Yeah?
- 40:19Speaker 2: I mean that's how it was when I was growing
- 40:21Speaker 2: up exactly.
- 40:22Speaker 1: I was talking with a excuse me.
- 40:24Speaker 2: I was talking with a friend the other day and
- 40:27Speaker 2: they mentioned that they were listening to like the Dan
- 40:29Speaker 2: Levutard podcast.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Oh boy.
- 40:31Speaker 2: And I sat back there and I was like, gosh,
- 40:32Speaker 2: I remember the time when I would come over school,
- 40:35Speaker 2: turn on the TV and it's either Sports Nation the
- 40:38Speaker 2: Dan Levtard Show around the Horn, like it was guys
- 40:42Speaker 2: talking about sports all Like, yeah, there was personality to it,
- 40:45Speaker 2: but it was just sports talk, you know what I mean,
- 40:47Speaker 2: Like that's all it was.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Ever.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Like there were like funny questions and stuff and jokes,
- 40:52Speaker 2: but like that's just not we have anymore. Unfortunately, it's
- 40:54Speaker 2: all about who can get the most interaction on social
- 40:57Speaker 2: media and who who gets the most clicks on the internet.
- 41:00Speaker 1: And it's just it's a tension seeking that's all it is.
- 41:04Speaker 1: To me. We gotta wear our big cowboy belt and
- 41:08Speaker 1: buckle up there. We gotta wear, you know, a T
- 41:10Speaker 1: shirt that has the cutoff sleeves and our cowboy boots.
- 41:14Speaker 1: That's just that's just him.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Though.
- 41:15Speaker 2: He wears that everywhere. It looks ridiculous always. Even before
- 41:18Speaker 2: he was signed about ESPN, he wore that stuff.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, well, good for him. I just to me,
- 41:24Speaker 1: between him and Steve Smith, I don't know who's worse.
- 41:28Speaker 2: I will give Pat mckaven credit for this, all right,
- 41:30Speaker 2: is that he didn't like switch up and move somewhere
- 41:33Speaker 2: like New York and create all this like he still
- 41:35Speaker 2: lives in Indianapolis, Like does he really? Yes, his whole
- 41:37Speaker 2: studio is in Indianapolis. Good for he basically made ESPN like, hey,
- 41:41Speaker 2: I'm not leaving, like I'm staying here because he still
- 41:43Speaker 2: loves the Colts. He still loves to be a part of,
- 41:45Speaker 2: like the culture Indianapolis, and he's a big.
- 41:47Speaker 1: Right there, right, Okay, Well good for him, So he
- 41:50Speaker 1: hasn't changed from that standpoint. But I don't get the
- 41:53Speaker 1: whole stick. I really don't. And when I I went
- 41:56Speaker 1: to I went straight to the comments section just to
- 41:58Speaker 1: see how people reacted, and there are more people negative.
- 42:03Speaker 1: It's like, why what's he done? And then also bringing
- 42:06Speaker 1: in Steve Smith with this, It's like nobody listens to this,
- 42:11Speaker 1: And I'm trying to figure out who really does listen
- 42:13Speaker 1: to Pat McAfee and Steve Smith, and I can't figure
- 42:16Speaker 1: it out because anytime they come on, I flip the switch.
- 42:20Speaker 1: I either mute it or turn on another station immediately.
- 42:23Speaker 1: I just don't listen to it. And I'm going to
- 42:25Speaker 1: a point where I don't really watch Game Day anymore.
- 42:29Speaker 1: I just don't watch ESPN anymore. Do you not? Really? Yeah?
- 42:32Speaker 1: I actually prefer, like bummer.
- 42:34Speaker 2: I I don't sit down and watch a lot of
- 42:38Speaker 2: those like ESPN sports talk shows anymore. But uh, if
- 42:42Speaker 2: I do, I prefer like. I think Fox Sports has
- 42:45Speaker 2: become better. I think they talk really, I think they
- 42:47Speaker 2: talk more sports like I don't. I'm not a big
- 42:50Speaker 2: Colin Cowherd fan, but at least he talks sports.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Is that the mistake I'm making? Because you know, I
- 42:54Speaker 1: don't talk sports all the time?
- 42:55Speaker 2: Like, what's the show called? With Nick right on it?
- 42:59Speaker 2: The first things?
- 43:00Speaker 1: First? Is that what it is?
- 43:01Speaker 2: I don't know that's I like that show. That's a
- 43:03Speaker 2: good show.
- 43:03Speaker 1: I just maybe that's the mistake making. One person said, well,
- 43:10Speaker 1: let me pull it up. I think mostly kids. It's
- 43:15Speaker 1: mostly kids, Michael who watched McAfee thirty six and rarely
- 43:19Speaker 1: ever watch I Am thirty six. There you go, So
- 43:23Speaker 1: is it mostly kids that watch McAfee.
- 43:24Speaker 2: I don't think anybody's really watching it.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Why if that's the case. Why is he getting sixty
- 43:29Speaker 1: million a year?
- 43:30Speaker 2: Well, because I think that Disney has so much money
- 43:32Speaker 2: and that he is the face. He's like basically the
- 43:34Speaker 2: face of ESPN at this point on social media. That
- 43:38Speaker 2: really surprise. It's his it's his. It's not who's watching
- 43:40Speaker 2: his show. It's the interactions he gets on social media.
- 43:44Speaker 2: He gets a lot of ticketbok.
- 43:45Speaker 1: So they're relying on social media on how to broadcast
- 43:49Speaker 1: program broadcast where we're at now? Social media everything? Good, gosh,
- 43:54Speaker 1: that's amazing to me. Do you follow him? I follow him? Well,
- 43:58Speaker 1: there you go. You're so you're part of the guilty party.
- 44:01Speaker 1: I mean I like Pat McAfee. Oh you do, yes?
- 44:05Speaker 1: What draws you to Pat matv? I think he's funny.
- 44:07Speaker 1: I think he's honest, like I think he's like, But
- 44:09Speaker 1: you're a Colts fan. I mean you think that's basically
- 44:12Speaker 1: you're a Bengals fan. That's right. No, you're a Pacers fan.
- 44:15Speaker 1: I'm a Pacers fan. I'm a Patriots fan. Oh that's rue. Yeah, okay,
- 44:18Speaker 1: I'll get it right.
- 44:19Speaker 2: I have no connection to Pat McAfee at all. I
- 44:21Speaker 2: just like when I like that he brought his crew
- 44:25Speaker 2: with him, Like it wasn't just they hired Pat McAfee
- 44:28Speaker 2: and he fired everybody. They they took, whoever they gave him,
- 44:30Speaker 2: he brought everybody with him. They're all still the same group.
- 44:33Speaker 2: And it's just like it reminds me of just like
- 44:34Speaker 2: a bunch of guys talking sports, Like, yeah, it's not
- 44:37Speaker 2: my favorite, Like I don't like I don't watch it
- 44:39Speaker 2: every day. But if I'm picking him versus Steven A.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Smith or Kendrick Perkins, I'm picking Pat McAfee.
- 44:48Speaker 1: Uh. Texas said, I think it's mostly kids that are
- 44:51Speaker 1: on X. Is that true? I thought it was mostly
- 44:55Speaker 1: forty and up that are on X.
- 44:59Speaker 2: I'd say it's between like sixteen and forty. It is
- 45:02Speaker 2: probably on X on X. Really, that's where people get
- 45:05Speaker 2: all their news from.
- 45:06Speaker 1: That's where I get my news from. That's just where
- 45:08Speaker 1: it is. Like, but I'm not forty. I'm really surprised
- 45:12Speaker 1: by that. I would have figured it been an older
- 45:14Speaker 1: age that are watching that. Are you on it or
- 45:16Speaker 1: are you using it?
- 45:18Speaker 2: Like that's two different things, like are you actually like
- 45:20Speaker 2: making posts on there or are you just using it
- 45:22Speaker 2: for news?
- 45:23Speaker 1: Because that's different. I do both. Well, you use okay,
- 45:26Speaker 1: but use it for like your show and stuff like
- 45:27Speaker 1: I do. Do you like tweet videos and make posts?
- 45:31Speaker 1: You know this and that?
- 45:32Speaker 2: Like that's different it is. I'd say the younger generation
- 45:35Speaker 2: do that. So the kids, yes, do that? I thought
- 45:38Speaker 2: think kids were on TikTok.
- 45:40Speaker 1: I mean they are too. Everybody's on TikTok. Everybody's on TikTok.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Yes, that's not a there's no like, not an age
- 45:45Speaker 2: group for that anymore.
- 45:46Speaker 1: What about Instagram? Instagram?
- 45:48Speaker 2: Is Instagram's older? Like Instagram is becoming more of like
- 45:51Speaker 2: a millennial thing.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Really is, because I would consider Instagram younger than like Facebook.
- 45:57Speaker 1: To me, Facebook is people fifty sixty selling. Yet nobody's
- 46:02Speaker 1: on Facebook anymore, are they not? Yeah? I don't like Facebook.
- 46:05Speaker 1: To me, it's just it's it's all political and I'm
- 46:08Speaker 1: just I'm not interested in that. Oh, we got to
- 46:09Speaker 1: take a break. Uh five O two three four fourteen fifty.
- 46:13Speaker 1: You want to call five O two four one four
- 46:15Speaker 1: fourteen fifty. You want to text in? Send me more texts.
- 46:18Speaker 1: I don't want to be quiet out there. I want
- 46:19Speaker 1: to hear from you. Stay right there. Our two coming
- 46:22Speaker 1: up with Just the Cats. Welcome to Just the Cats,
- 46:38Speaker 1: with Michael Bennett Our number two Just the Cats five
- 46:47Speaker 1: O two three four fourteen fifty five O two four
- 46:49Speaker 1: one four fourteen fifty Uh. The one the one part
- 46:53Speaker 1: we forgot to mention was YouTube. You know, we were
- 46:55Speaker 1: talking about that during the break. We didn't mention YouTube.
- 46:58Speaker 1: I use YouTube. I'll post on YouTube. But you say
- 47:02Speaker 1: YouTube is more for like, all right, so everybody listening
- 47:05Speaker 1: to us on YouTube, what age do you think they
- 47:07Speaker 1: are right now listening to us? Yes, thirty five and up?
- 47:14Speaker 1: Really all right, so where do you think most?
- 47:18Speaker 2: But it depends on what the content is you're you're
- 47:21Speaker 2: like engaging in.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:23Speaker 2: So like if you're watching like streamers or something like
- 47:27Speaker 2: somebody who go you know, like play video games or
- 47:29Speaker 2: maybe they go out in public and do like live
- 47:31Speaker 2: stream stuff, that's between the ages I'd say of like
- 47:34Speaker 2: ten years old and like thirty years old, like between
- 47:37Speaker 2: that ERAa.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Okay, because that's what they grew up with. Yeah, I
- 47:41Speaker 1: got youa okay, fair enough.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Like for me example, I use kind of like all
- 47:45Speaker 2: forms of media for like I grew up in the middle. Like,
- 47:48Speaker 2: but the only thing I ever watch on TV is sports.
- 47:50Speaker 2: I watch nothing else. Everything else I either get on
- 47:53Speaker 2: YouTube or a live streamer or something like that. I
- 47:55Speaker 2: don't watch TV or like I get it, Like I've
- 47:59Speaker 2: had this conversation with my friends before. Streaming has ruined television entirely.
- 48:04Speaker 2: Like all the companies that make all the television shows,
- 48:06Speaker 2: whether it's Disney Plus or Peacock or Paramount, they have
- 48:09Speaker 2: all the money, right, so they have the best shows.
- 48:12Speaker 2: If you go and watch, like when you're watching the
- 48:14Speaker 2: NBA Finals, you're watching the NHL Playoffs, you'll see commercials
- 48:18Speaker 2: be like new show on CBS, and it's like, dude,
- 48:21Speaker 2: this show looks awful, like the like if they're cgi in,
- 48:25Speaker 2: it looks terrible.
- 48:26Speaker 1: The acting is bad.
- 48:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's because all the good actors and all of
- 48:30Speaker 2: the good money is going towards these streaming services. So
- 48:33Speaker 2: people like Paramount doesn't put any money into CBS TV
- 48:36Speaker 2: shows anymore, you know what I mean, They don't do
- 48:38Speaker 2: that stuff. Nobody's watching it. They still need it.
- 48:41Speaker 1: I'm trying to think the last show I watched on TV.
- 48:43Speaker 1: It might have been Poop Creek. That might have been
- 48:46Speaker 1: the last one I watched.
- 48:48Speaker 2: Last show I watched on TV on a week to
- 48:50Speaker 2: week basis, Well, like I had to open my turn
- 48:53Speaker 2: my cable box on and watch it, like a specific timeframe.
- 48:56Speaker 2: You couldn't just choose when to watch it, like I
- 48:58Speaker 2: had to be locked in at seven e st or whatever. Yes,
- 49:02Speaker 2: Walking Dead season three, Walking Dead, Okay, I never got
- 49:06Speaker 2: into I was like twenty sixteen. Yeah, I mean I
- 49:09Speaker 2: had never heard of Pop TV or whatever it's called.
- 49:13Speaker 2: It's the Canadian I think it's a Canadian company. I
- 49:15Speaker 2: don't know if it is or not.
- 49:16Speaker 1: That's how I watched Poop Creek, but I think maybe
- 49:21Speaker 1: the Western what's that one Western show that I was watching? Yellowstone? Yellowstone.
- 49:30Speaker 1: I think that's the last one too, But it's on Paramount.
- 49:33Speaker 1: Did you watch that on Paramount or Yeah? I think
- 49:35Speaker 1: I watched it on Paramount. Nobody does that anymore.
- 49:37Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, if you like, I want you to pay
- 49:39Speaker 2: attention next time you watch a sporting event, if you
- 49:41Speaker 2: see an advert for a TV show, I want you
- 49:43Speaker 2: to sit back and think in comparison to the shows
- 49:46Speaker 2: you've watched on Paramount or Peacock or whatever, you're like, Gosh,
- 49:50Speaker 2: this looks terrible.
- 49:51Speaker 1: It's because there's no money in it. Yeah, I think
- 49:55Speaker 1: it's been a long time. I'll just go back and
- 49:58Speaker 1: I'll turn on uh streaming service and I'll watch something
- 50:02Speaker 1: else completely different. But anyway, but I know it's not Tuesday,
- 50:06Speaker 1: but it's Wednesday, and our good friend Corey Price is here.
- 50:09Speaker 1: How you doing, Corey? I'm doing swell? Michael, Yeah, sorry,
- 50:13Speaker 1: Matthew didn't know how to play the music. Oh it's okay.
- 50:15Speaker 2: No, No, I didn't know he was even gonna be here.
- 50:19Speaker 1: You saw him a few minutes ago.
- 50:21Speaker 2: You and I were in the middle of a conversation
- 50:23Speaker 2: with thirty seconds where he came back from break also
- 50:26Speaker 2: to reboot the whole computer.
- 50:27Speaker 1: So I gonna open everything back up again? Are you
- 50:29Speaker 1: kidding me? Yeah? Excuses, excuses, man, Oh my gosh. Man. Okay,
- 50:33Speaker 1: one day they'll put a little money into this station,
- 50:36Speaker 1: I hope. But anyway, how are you doing, Corey? I'm
- 50:40Speaker 1: doing swell. It's kind of a slow period for sports,
- 50:42Speaker 1: so you know, what do you mean. It's got the
- 50:44Speaker 1: Stanley Cup going on, you got the NBA Finals going on,
- 50:47Speaker 1: you got baseball going on, you got the Louisville Kings
- 50:50Speaker 1: are in the final championship. He oh, yeah, what what
- 50:53Speaker 1: are we talking about? To slow sports time?
- 50:56Speaker 4: I focus most of my time in college sports, that's
- 50:59Speaker 4: probably one.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Oh okay, so you're the problem. You're the reason why
- 51:04Speaker 2: we don't have a pro sports team.
- 51:07Speaker 3: Wow.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Although I am pretty hyped about the Kings, it's Louisville's
- 51:12Speaker 1: fault we don't have a pro sports team. It's Corey Price. No,
- 51:16Speaker 1: it's U L. Tom Jerk and uh yeah, Rick Patino,
- 51:21Speaker 1: It's it's all Tom and yet U of L wants
- 51:23Speaker 1: go to name a freaking street after Tom Jerk after
- 51:27Speaker 1: you put all that suff Now, be nice. I'm just
- 51:30Speaker 1: telling the truth.
- 51:32Speaker 2: How are you gonna feel whenever they when UK gets
- 51:35Speaker 2: a new like practice facility and they name after Mitch Barnheart.
- 51:38Speaker 4: Well, there is a Barnhart family complex which houses the
- 51:43Speaker 4: soccer stadium, in the baseball stadium, the softball stadium.
- 51:46Speaker 1: So congrats. Yeah, there you go. That's nice to them. Yeah,
- 51:49Speaker 1: it's not just Mitch's the part.
- 51:51Speaker 2: He needs the money. I mean, he's very b he.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Is, for sure. He's got that compound. Yeah, he's got
- 51:57Speaker 1: to support the compound that he just built. But anyway,
- 52:00Speaker 1: let's talk about good news. Any good news going on
- 52:02Speaker 1: in your life?
- 52:05Speaker 4: Uh? I just work, honestly, nothing too crazy, you.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Know, Okay, what an exciting life you lead there, Cory.
- 52:13Speaker 1: You sound really excited to talk about it too. I'm
- 52:16Speaker 1: almost feeling down now.
- 52:18Speaker 4: There's nothing really new. Okay, good, Well, I'm sad about
- 52:22Speaker 4: Matthew leaving, but you.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Know, yeah we all are you? Are you really?
- 52:26Speaker 3: Corey?
- 52:26Speaker 1: I am you? Are you really? Do you think I
- 52:29Speaker 1: am Matthew? No? Oh wow? Why would you say something
- 52:33Speaker 1: like that. I am very sad about that. I love
- 52:35Speaker 1: having you around.
- 52:36Speaker 2: Because then you're gonna be able to talk to somebody
- 52:38Speaker 2: about how much you hate Lamar Jackson.
- 52:42Speaker 1: It might be even more of a die hard guy.
- 52:44Speaker 1: I like having you around. So, but what's happening this
- 52:47Speaker 1: week in sports or pop culture? Mister Price? Just one sports,
- 52:51Speaker 1: but mostly pop culture? Okay, June seventh through the thirteenth.

- 53:48Speaker 1: I know, but I'm looking at I'm looking at Corey

- 53:54Speaker 1: have I have great hands, I think, I hope.
- 53:56Speaker 2: I mean because you have the webcam on the table
- 53:59Speaker 2: and it's not on I didn't do it. That's not
- 54:01Speaker 2: on the stream. That's just for you. Oh okay, I'm sorry,
- 54:04Speaker 2: all right, it's weirdok. Do you like my hands, Michael?

- 54:33Speaker 1: seen Rudy? Okay? Yes, which one is he? He's? Is
- 54:37Speaker 1: he Rudy?
- 54:38Speaker 2: Oh?

- 58:17Speaker 1: Wow? What about his two uncles?
- 58:20Speaker 3: Oh?
- 58:20Speaker 1: God, these ones I don't I shouldn't know, but I don't.
- 58:23Speaker 4: Ludwig von Drake and Scrooge McDuck.

- 58:29Speaker 4: His twin sister, No idea, Della Duck, his three nephews,

- 58:40Speaker 4: Huey, Dewey and Louie. Oh, and his cousin Gladstone Gander. Wow,
- 58:46Speaker 4: he's got a bit big. That's impressive.
- 58:48Speaker 2: One of the best Disney movies ever made is Disney's
- 58:51Speaker 2: Twice upon a Christmas, when they do like every character
- 58:53Speaker 2: has their own Christmas episode. That's cool and the Dad
- 58:56Speaker 2: and Almo and the Donald Duck one with his nephews
- 59:00Speaker 2: is the best one.
- 59:01Speaker 1: Jean Louis Okay nice.

- 59:14Speaker 1: All right, thanks, appreciate that. God, go back to Tampa Camp.
- 59:19Speaker 1: I'm trying to.
- 59:22Speaker 4: Hoop Junior won the race in two minuts and seven
- 59:24Speaker 4: seconds from the number seven post. That is the slowest

- 59:58Speaker 4: nineteen thirty seven. It was the second Saturday in May.
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: Oh is that because of the flood?
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: Oh? I didn't look it up, but that's possible because
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: nineteen thirty seven was the big flood in Louisville. It
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: was May eighth and instead of May first. So that's yeah,
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: that interesting? Remember is that like it was yesterday? Uh

- 1:01:08Speaker 1: Ain't all extensive, but it's a good movie. It was greatest,
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: one of the greatest movies ever made. Absolutely, I mean
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: it's it's iconic. As far as I'm concerned. I love

- 1:02:12Speaker 1: Parker from one of the fifty states? Cincinnati, Ohio? Wow? Yeah,
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: I still can't believe he's married to her. What's so crazy?
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: It's just because she's pretty and he's just kind of average. Okay,

- 1:02:36Speaker 4: Your big fans of Popeyes giganic. Yeah, eh, oh my.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: God, I think it's a little overrated.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's good, but like, when have you
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: released the chicken sandwich? And you had to wait like
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: an hour to get a chicken sandwich?
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: It's still good. It was average best. Oh all right.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: Okay, he's just a hater today. You are more of
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: a Dave's Hot Chicken kind of guy. What Dave's Hot Chicken?
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: Where's Dave's Hot Chicken?
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: They just put one out here in Saint Matthew's. I
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: don't think I've ever had Dave's Hot I've never even
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: heard of Dave's really good. Really okay, the first as
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: good as Royals.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: I thought Royals was underwhelmingly average.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: That's why they're all gone. There's still one downtown.
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: The first restaurant opened actually as Chicken on the Run
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: by Al Copeland in Araby, Louisiana. Popeyes was named after
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: the fictional character Jimmy Popeye Doyle played by Gene Hackman
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: in the film The French Connection, and.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: After great movie YEP.
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: As of the star of twenty twenty six, Popeyes has
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: a total of five four and thirteen locations worldwide, with

- 1:03:45Speaker 4: states which two states did not have a.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Popeyes, Hawaii and Alaska.
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: That would be a pretty good guess, But that's incorrect.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Are both states wrong? On both states?
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Wow? Okay? Did you say Seattle, Matthew, I mean Washington? Nice?
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: Nice? Yeah? He is perfect for rais Yeah, I would
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: Can I get another guest? I would say North Dakota
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: and Montana.
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: It is Vermont and Wyoming.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: Wow. I don't know how I would guess that, But Yellowstone.
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: And twenty twenty four, Popeyes reported sales of approximately five
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: point seven billion dollars. Wow, the second largest chicken chain
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: in the America. Force to camc Yeah.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: Last one.

- 1:04:44Speaker 4: like this is two thousand and three. I think there's
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: a different one. It was called Just Hulk.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: This is the first one of like yeah Yeah, directed
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: by Louis Letterier. Stars Ty Burrell, William Hurt, Tim Blake, Neilson,

- 1:05:02Speaker 4: Mark Ruffalo played him after this, Mark Ruffalo, really you've
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: been the last fifteen years?
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: Wow, that's just the He's literally been the Hulk since
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: like two horrible pick.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: He does not look like the Hulk. Okay what that mean?
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: I'm sorry, he doesn't look like an eight twenty foot tall,
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: fat green guy.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: That's what you like? Like Gi Michael, It doesn't matter
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: what a horrible pick. Tim Roth and Liv Tyler. By
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: the way, Oh I like Liv Tyler. You know who
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: live Tyler? Is, don't you, Matthew? I know you do, Corey.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: Maybe you know who who her dad is? Do I?
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: Do you? Corey? Steven Tayler exactly? Okay, Steven Tyler? Who
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: is who? Yeah? Exactly? Who do you know who Stephen
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: Tyler is? He's the singer for Arisman.
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: Very good.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: Yeah, you're better than Matt Justin. Justin would never know
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: who knows nothing about it? No, he doesn't.
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: Film gross approximately one hundred and thirty four point eight
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: million dollar domestically, maybe the fourteenth highest Cherson film of
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: two thousand and eight.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Yeah, and the.
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: Film was numbly for six Spike TV's Scream Awards, but
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: was over six.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Wow. I liked it. I like the incredible Hulk. Did
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: you really? I watched The Hulk when it was a
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: TV show in the seventies. Uh, Lou, Yes, you're right, Lou,
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: for that's it exactly, very good, Corey, Uh tell me,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: looks like he was the Hulk? Are you kidding me?
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: He is pretty big. I'm not gonna lie.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: But they just used his body in painted of green.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: Exactly, they did. And that's what the Hulk looks like
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: like a person.
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: I'm trying thing who played David Banner in that show.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Oh it was a famous guy, famous actor, TV actor
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: from the seventies, and I can't remember what his name was.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: He was in all kinds of TV shows but uh yeah, uh,
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: and I don't think he's done anything. Well maybe because
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: he's not alive, but uh, I can't remember who it was.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: That was a great show. I mean you would be
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: you would be watching that, I don't I think it
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: might have been Thursday nights or something. You would go
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: to school the next day. Did you watch the Hulk?
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: Bill Bixby? That's it, Bill Bigsby. Is he still a
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: lot by the way? Passed away in ninete ninety three?
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: There you go. That's why I haven't seen him in
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: a long time. So that might be what, yeah, exactly, possibly.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: So any plans for the summer this upcoming couple of
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: months or no, I know you're getting excited about football? Yeah,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: eighty seven days away? Is it really just eighty seven
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: days away? That's amazing. I just time flies by, and
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: it's gonna be a good year because you know, Kentucky's
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: gonna beat uo L That's right, Matthew, suck it. No,
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: that's I know you didn't say it. I said it.
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: It's okay anyway, Yeah, Matthew has nothing to say. No,
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: you just don't respondibilities' that's so true. But anyway, it's
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: always fun seeing you, Corey.
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: It's fun seeing you. You going to any racetracks soon?
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: I have to go to Okalla next week for the
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: last two year old horse sale. I did, I do
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: have to. Yeah, I really got something. The next racetrack
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: I'm going to is Churchill Downs, so yeah, well that's
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: not much. Sorry, I'll be going back up to Saratoga.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: I'll be going to Ellis Park as soon as Churchill
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: Down shuts down because we'll have a part.
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: It's in Henderson, Henderson, Yeah, Kentucky, just right outside of Evansville,
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: So all right, you know, uh, John here will be
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: there hopefully. But yeah, I'll be going to Ellis Park.
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: But yeah, and that's it. But nothing else. Uh no
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: other big plans for racetracks right now that I can
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: think of, Oh, Saratoga and Ellis or Turfy not the
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: real exciting track. Sorry about that. Other than Saratoga. Have
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: you been there before? I have not known. It's phenomena. Yeah,
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: it's it's no offense to our friends. Over in Lexington. Uh,
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: Saratoga is something special that's in New York, right, Yeah,
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: it's in Saratoga Springs, New York. And then Delmar is
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: one of my favorites too. So anyway, you've seen them all,
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: Michael Bennett, I've seen good majority of them. That's that's
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: very true. So I've seen the nicest ones as far
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: as I'm concerned. But anyway, all right, we gotta take
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: a break. Corey, thank you very much, my friend. Always
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: fun seeing you. All right, we're gonna take a break
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: right now. Five O two three four fourteen fifty five
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: O two four one four fourteen fifty Uh. I got
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: a couple of texts here. We're gonna get to when
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: we get back. Somebody's talking about the Hult as well.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: But uh, stay right there more just cats coming right up?
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: Fine, please, I stopped to know that.
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: Is this the original version, the Toto version of Africa?
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Oh yeah, okay, you remember the whole Chris Mack video
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: where he and Eric Wood were after they beat UK.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: There was background music and that was the other version
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: of Africa that was redone. And somebody will text me
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: in and tell me who it was, because I can't
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: remember who the band was, but uh, and they did
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: a really good version of it. That's probably their biggest album,
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: was that Toto four or something like that. I mean
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: it had Rosanneau or Roseanne Uh had all kinds of
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: unbelievable hits on that one.
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: I don't know if I've ever heard that. I've only
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: ever heard.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: The Oh yeah, yeah, look it up. Look up Africa
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: and you'll see who the other band is and or
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: somebody will text me in a minute five or two,
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: four and four, fourteen fifteen tell me who it was.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: But anyway, by the way, what do you think about
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: that rain yesterday? I wasn't here for it, that's right.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: You weren't. That's right. You flew in yesterday afternoon. So
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: Cord in Indiana, did you see had six inches of rain?
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: They had it flooded the entire city of Cord, and
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: I believe his way it was. They were showing video
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: of it, how there was water on it at first
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: and then it was gone. They even showed video. I
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: don't know if you saw this or not, but where
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: uh where there were fish on the road. Somebody caught
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: a catfish that was in the middle of the road.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: That's awesome. I mean it was that's awesome. Why is
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: that awesome? I mean I like that somebody's using their
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: time wisely. Okay, yeah, to go fish on the road. Okay,
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: they were. I think they just picked it up and
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: put it back in the water, but which was nice
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: of them.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: People were just fishing off the side of the freaking
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: highway in Tampa.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you got that on the bridges. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: They do that everywhere. But that's good fishing right there
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: by the way. Speaking of this whole thing that happened,
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: one of our listeners, Austin, said that his dad needs help,
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: any help he can get. If you would share this,
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: that would be great. I appreciate it. And he's a
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: podcast listener every day. But there is a go fund
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: me for Austin Haggard and his dad, Aaron Haggard, if
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: you'll go look that up. He's got a business in Cordon.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: He's known to be a businessman that helps everybody own there.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: He owns Accent custom homes and Bucking Good chow Wagon.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: I like that Bucking Good chow Wagon. What a phenomenal name. Okay,
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: and I'll advertise that right now if you want to
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: get some great food. I don't know if it's good
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: or not, but anything that's called bucking good chow wagon,
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: that's a phenomenal name. Right, Am I wrong about that?
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: Come on, Matthew, Okay, good, you're so excited. I never
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: been there. I haven't either, but I'm telling you anything
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: that's named that right there, it's got to be good.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: But he's looking for some help because the floods yesterday
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: really devastated. And you can go look at the pictures
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: on gofundmeal, but look up Aaron Haggard and or Austin Haggard.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: He's trying to raise money. You can see is his
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: truck as a total loss and his building is really damaged.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: They're trying to raise ten thousand dollars. So if you
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: want to help him out, I know the Haggards would
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: definitely appreciate that. And I'm happy to send along the
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: news right there for Austin. So there you go. So
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: hopefully your dad can recover and your family can recover,
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: because I know that's gonna take a lot of work.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: That's one of those things that, man, you just really
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: feel for people that go through tragedy like that. I mean,
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: as you probably saw her. Maybe you didn't notice it
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: or not. But while you're down Clearwater, Tampa Saint Pete area,
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: they're still recovering from two years ago to her gaines.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: I mean, it's amazing that there are some people that
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: are still not in their house from two years. They've
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: set up campers in their driveway. They've literally gone and
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: bought campers to live in a camper on their property
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: while their house is being rebuilt. It's just crazy down there.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: Let's talk about a couple of the texts that came up.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: Josh texted out, I think McAfee is so popular because
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: of his in your face nature with a lot of candid,
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: down to earth interviews with a lot of different athletes
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: and other celebs. Yeah, is that what attracts you to that?
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: I mean the conversation with celebs. No, I think that
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: what I agree with that.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: I think the younger generation is more attractive to Pat
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: McAfee because of that.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: It is okay, okay, that's what like they're used to.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: They're used to that short form, exciting content where you
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: have to be stimulated every four seconds.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: Yeah. One person said this might be off topic, but
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: I watched First things First, with Nick Brossard and Nick
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: Wright on YouTube for NBA coverage. Have you ever heard
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: of that? I've never heard of that show. Yeah, first things.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: First was the show that I was talking about, So okay,
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: oh that's right. Yeah, but he watches it on YouTube.
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think that they do. I know
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: he has a podcast as well. They might put that
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: show on YouTube. I've never watched on.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: YouTube commercial show on CBS. It's because all the good
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: actors and all the good money is going towards streaming services,
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: so people like Paramount doesn't put any money into I
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Still need it. That might might have been the last
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: one I've watched on TV because Cable Walking Dead season three.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: I had never heard of pop or whatever, well pop,
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: I had never heard of pop until I think that.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: This was a because I said that this last text
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: was a mistake. I think that they were talking with
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: their or they had their phone open with the voice listener,
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: and that this is us talking.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: Are you kidding me?
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: Oh that's hilarious, because that was the first part, was
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: the point that I made. And then Oh, that's hilarious,
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: and then I love that that happened, and then you
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: said I still need it? Might have been the last one.
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: I think it was picking you up talking about the
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: last show you watched, and then I talked about Walking
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: Dead season three. So unless this listener and I have
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: exactly the same thought process, yeah, yeah, I think they
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: were literally just listening to us what they're like.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: That's funny, Jamie said. My husband forty four and our
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: son fourteen love YouTube. I watch you guys, KSORR and
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: maybe a few others. I wish somebody would text into
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: that show, that that other show and mentioned that I
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: watched their show and just the cats. I wish somebody
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: would do that, and just to see if it would
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: be read on that other show.
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: It would be you do Okay, Oh no, I wouldn't
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: yeh Steven tries to read all those if you can.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. We'll see, uh. But thank you, Jamie.
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: I really appreciate that. Not I I know exactly who
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: you are, Jamie, so because I see your stuff on
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: social media as well. So that's great that y'all watch
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: it on YouTube. That just that just surprises me. I
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: just can't imagine. I'll look at the camera right now.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: I can't imagine getting on YouTube and watching a radio
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: show I really can't.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: They just like the like the being able to see
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: people really.
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: Because I I'd like to know, for the people that
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: have never seen me before, do I look like what
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: they expect? Because I have been surprised over time, Like
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: I would try to envision what, you know, famous radio
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: people looked like, and I was always so way off,
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: and I would say more times than not, I was disappointed.
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: I'd like to know what you know, if you're out
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: there listening you've never seen me before, did I disappoint you?
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: A really funny way to use to say that I disappointed,
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: Like yeah, Like I'm just imagining if I were to
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: see like Jim Rome for the first time.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: You're like, oh, yeah, not that Jim Room. I was open.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: Well I I uh, let's just say if it was
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: a young lady, you thought, oh, she's got to be
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: the prettiest lady in the world. Then you tune in
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: to see what she looks like. It's like, oh, okay,
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: I imagine not quite what I imagine. That's how all
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: the YouTube are going.
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: Did you like?
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: All right? You know, Charles Barkley is getting a lot
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: of criticism right now. I love Charles Barkley and I
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: love his sense of humor in his style. Uh you know,
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: Cardi B was out there doing her whole thing at
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: the NBA Finals a couple of nights ago, and Charles
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: Barkley made the car the comment Cardi B, she's more
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: like Cardi d yep. I saw this? Did you think
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: that was funny? Because I asked my wife this last night.
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: I said, this is funny. I want your opinion. She goes, no,
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: it's not funny. And I'm like, why is that not funny?
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: You shouldn't be making comments about people in their and
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: their physical side and their body type. I said, but
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: it's just a joke. She goes, it's not funny. I'm like, okay,
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: I respect that. Do you think it's funny? Yes, we're pigs?
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: Then you and I are pigs. I mean, I can
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: imagine Cardi B has been called worse. Yes, considering it
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: was like kind of like a compliment. But I understand.
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: I completely get where Patricia's coming from. Yes, it's objectifying,
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: I completely understand. But it's one of those is like
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: a shock factor, like he really just said that on
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: a air like you're you're I think it's awesome more
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: laughing because he said it, you're not laughing at Cardi
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: b you're laughing at all?
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: Said not at all. Just like when he talks about
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: the women down in San Antonio's big old Women's big
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: old women of Santario exactly. I think it's funny. It's
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: not meant to really, I don't think it's meant to
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: pick on them. That one was meant to pick on them.
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: But I think I'm laughing because it's like, oh my god,
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: he really just said that.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: I love that sense of humor. If somebody made fun
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: of my size, I would laugh with them. It's it's true.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: It was even funnier when he does apology and he
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: was like, I gotta say, I gotta go on the
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: SHOWE apologize to all those big old women in San
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: Antonio exact.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: But I know why. It's because Truros. I mean, I
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: just I ate those Chruros last night. Now I understand.
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: I just I love Charles Barkley and I will always
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: love that guy. Where is Scoots? Is he? Okay? Did
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: he quit the station? Wisconsin guy? Caraco? Uh? Yeah, he
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: quit the station. So anyway, that's all. That's all. He's
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: working for his dad right now, losing weight. I'm very
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: proud of him. He said he's losing weight. Did you
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: see that, he's like seven or eight pounds. Yeah, he's
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: got to lay off that. See that. That drink he likes,
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: by the way, that's the other thing he needs to do.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: So I'm sorry about that, Wisconsin guy, Carico, it's first
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: time you've texted in and Wisconsin guy, I wish you
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: texted more so.
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: One person said, I listened to UK based show. At
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: every UK based show, it amazes me how much you
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: guys all dislike each other. That's not true. Uh, that's
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: not true at all. I'm trying to think. I there's
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: only one out there that I truly dislike, and I
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: don't really dislike him. He just dislikes me. I just
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: like all of them. Do you really No, I'm just kidding. No,
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: I would hope not. I don't even I'm a big
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: fan of Larry Vad Jack Pilgrim, I'm a big fan
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: of Drew Franklin. I'm a big fan of Ryan Shannon
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: is one of is like a little brother to me.
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: So I don't know who you're talking about that I
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: dislike other than just he's just different. Okay, it's not
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: that I dislike him. I know he doesn't like me,
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: because he's made it apparently clear. Paulina texted me.
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: I think it was like a week ago, was at
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: work and she like serves over a Bourbon Burgers down
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: the road. She what, like the restaurant Bourbon and Burgers. Yes,
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: she serves over there in her free time right now? Really, yeah,
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: And she said that somebody came in and she had
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: at one of her tables she had was talking to
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: her and they got into the conversation of radio for
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: some reason, right, and brought up that I do this.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: And then she was like, hey, do you know who
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: Drew Franklin is? And I was like, I mean, I
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: know who he is, Like I don't know him personally.
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: She was like, I just it was kind of funny
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: how she worded. She said, I just had his like
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: third cousin's sister at her at my table.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, that's awesome. I was like
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: what did she?
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: I was like, one, how did that even come about?
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: She was like she just mentioned it or whatever. I
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: was like, that's an interesting thing to mention.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: Yeah, Hey, you guys, if you like Yellowstone, you'll probably
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: like Dutton Ranch too well. So much for the Scoots
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: and Toots show. This is depressing. I'm just doing Scoots
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: and Toots. Duck Tails was the best cartoon of the nineties.
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: I remember Ducktails. I don't remember Ducktils. He's made a
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: video game for it. You still have to wait an
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: hour for a chicken sandwich from Popeyes, but that's just
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: the standard operating time for their employees. It's no Lee's Chicken,
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: for sure. I like Lee's Chicken, are you not? Yeah?
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: And Popeye service is pretty bad. I'll admit that right there.
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: The Hulk is now all CGI. The generation today couldn't
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: understand Lou Forigno actually being painted in green. That is
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: so true.
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: It just looks dumb, okay, like like it doesn't like
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: I understand. The point is that, like everything CGI now,
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: and I agree with you entirely, But they literally just
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: painted a man green and that was it.
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: But because he was, I mean, he was the actual body.
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: He was huge. I'll give it to him. But Matt
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: Ruffalo as the Hulk just does it work a beer belly.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: Our argument is that is that Lou is the best Hulk.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: I know. That's ridiculous. Matt Ruffalo is only the Hulk
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: at age sixty five, coming out of a beer garden
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: with a cigarette in one hand and a big old
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: pint in the other. Okay, that that's where the Hulk
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: is just given up if you really.
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: Want to make the argument, he's not even the Hulk,
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: he is Bruce Banner, and that the Hulk is literally
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: a cgi character.
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: Doormat needs to stop the loo forig no slander, not
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: looking like the Hulk. Listen in twenty twenty nine when
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: Arnold shows up as a terminator. Just remember we were
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: all warned in fast.
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: If Arnold somebody around and just resurfaces the terminator, then yeah,
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: we're all in for it.
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: One person said, there's nothing insulting about what Barkley said. Heck,
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: Cardi paid for them and seems to like to show
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: them off whenever she can. So there you go. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: I'll get to the next text as soon as we
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: get back, but we gotta take our last break. Five
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: O two three eight four fourteen fifty five two four
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: four fourteen fifty Stay right there more just cats one
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: more segment coming up, Stay right there, all right, So
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: which version do you like more? And it's Weezer. You
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: found it. It's Weezer that plays that one, Toto that
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: played the original that's more of a rock version. Fan
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: of Africa. Truthfully, I have a hard time picking which
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: one I like more. I might say Weezer because I
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: like that rock version, maybe preferred a little more.
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: I like Toto's version of bet do you really? It's
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: a good like It's fine, it's a good cover. I
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: don't think it sounds different enough.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: Oh, it's very similar. You're right.
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: I wish Weezer like made it like if you're gonna,
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: I get your covering it and needs to sound similar,
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: But like I wish it sounded a little bit more
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: different so that it wasn't like a little too similar
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: for me.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: Is there a song out there that you liked the
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: cover more than you like the original? Oh?
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: I guess technically it's not a cover. It's like a remake. Yeah,
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: but uh run DMC's version of that's fantastic. I would
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: agree with that. That's not Obviously it's not a cover,
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: but I like that version better.
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: I think Justin played it a couple of weeks ago,
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: and uh or did you play it? It might have
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: been you that played it. I don't remember. Uh, and
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: uh that that's really what Brock Aerosmith back to relevance
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: is because of run DMC, and that that is a
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: great version, by the way, I do like that. Yeah,
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: there's there is a lot out there because a lot
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: of people have tried to redo Purple Rain by Prince Yeah,
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: and it hasn't worked out. I'm sure there are other
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: songs out there. I can't think of one right now,
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: but I'm sure there is another one out there. Wisconsin
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: guy wants to know. Okay, why did Scoots quit? What happened?
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: Listeners deserve honesty when someone disappears from us. Joe, You're right,
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: you do deserve honesty. They weren't offering him what he wanted.
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: He felt like he deserved more, and he went and
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: started working for his dad and he's making more money.
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: They wanted him to do Sunrise with Scoots and basically
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: not being paid anything, so and expected him to go
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: get advertising and that would pay him to do Sunrise
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: with Scoots. So that's essentially what it comes down to.
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: So you know, I do this show, I pay for
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: the time. I actually lose money because I don't go
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: out and get advertisers. So I lose money doing the show.
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: I do it because I love it. I just I
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: have fun doing this, and I have fun working with Matthew.
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: I had fun working with Justin so and I'm disappointed too.
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: Don't get me wrong, I'm still very disappointed. I just
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: hopefully maybe it'll change. Maybe they'll the station will find
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: their way and go back and get him, especially since
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: Matthew's leaving. Who knows. I just don't know. But that's
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: all I got to say about it. So hopefully they change.
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: Patrick texted out said, Hurt is a great cover by
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: Johnny Cash. I don't listen to Johnny Cash, so I don't.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: I can't tell you. Yeah, I've never heard it. Yeah,
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: me neither. Did you see where Paul Skeens was driving
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: by a Little league field? Did you see this video?
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: This is pretty cool and stop to play catch with
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: the players and talked with him for over two hours,
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: all the night before he pinch pitched against the Dodgers
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: in Pittsburgh. I thought that was cool, but but part
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: of me that the first thing that came to my
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: mind when I saw this was he trying to get
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: away from his girlfriend. I mean, I would want to
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: you would you would not or would I would not?
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: Really not? You would not what? I would not want
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: to get away from her? Really, she's a little too
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: much of an attension seeker for me. She's an influencer.
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: It's lowly her job. To me, that's an attention seeker.
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: There's this whole influencer crap. It's attention seeking. Okay, that's
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: what it is. And I don't know, Michael, you're technically
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: an influencer. I am not. There is no way. Michael
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: Bennett sitting here right now is an every day yes,
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: but I'm not an influencer. You influence others.
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: What ten people are listening out over the rocks Kentucky
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: Basketball That is five people are out there listening to
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: me right now. No, I just know I am not
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: an influencer. I'll never accept that. Okay, it's just you
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: and me talking here and we're having a good time. Uh,
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: while I have the obs pre show going on too.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: Uh. Lou for Igno is the only true Hulk. If
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: someone is out their name, dropping their third cousin twice, removement,
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: maybe they need to do a little more in their
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: life to be more impressive in their own right. That
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: is true.
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: That wasn't like the exact situation, but it was somebody
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: like distant from him. It wasn't like, oh, that's my
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: husband or something like. So what she told me, I
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: was like, that's awesome. Like I don't even know who
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: that is.
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: I'm third person for second cousin to h to Matthew Childress.
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: Second he's on the radio, my second by blood Aunts Dolls.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: But I like Drew. I mean, I don't tell me
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: I don't like people out there.
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: I like.
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: I very much like Drew Franklin. I very much like
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: a lot of them out there. I just don't who
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: else is on the radio that I wouldn't like, is
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: what I would ask. I mean, there's not anybody else
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: that I don't care for. I liked all of them.
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: I like Matt. I don't know why he didn't like me,
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: but I always liked Matt. He just kind of got
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: on my nerves every now and then. The station needs
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: to pony up with Scoots. The station needs to stop
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: acting like the Pittsburgh Pirates and retain their talent. Oh boy, Okay,
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: I can't really comment on that, but I hope they
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: maybe they come to see their ways that maybe we
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: made a bad decision and they go back and get them.
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: But they might not. I just I just don't know so,
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: but we'll see. We'll see what happens with that. Okay,
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: Serena Williams won her double match her with a nineteen
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: year old Canadian, Victoria Muboka, and now they're in the
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: first round of the HSBC Championships in London after a
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: four year layoff. How about that, age forty four, she
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: goes out there and wins her first match and then
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: here's how she finished it. She aced twice to win
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: the match. I thought that that was pretty cool. That's cool.
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: Evidently you don't think so. I just don't watch tennis.
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: I don't either. I just I'm not that big into it.
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: But it's okay. Tomorrow we're going to talk about who
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: made Times magazine list of one hundred most influential people
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: in sports, and a couple other things. We didn't get
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: to the will Stein thing.
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: I want to talking if.
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: I would hope I'm at least in the thirties. I mean,
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: come on, we are real influencers. Yeah, I should be.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: I know. I'm sorry. One person says, sounding like Scoots
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: was done wrong from how you're talking. Yeah, I would
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: somewhat agree with it. I wasn't just saying you dislike everyone.
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: Every show has an issue. Some don't like KSR, some
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: joke you, some joke on Streable. You guys just are
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: not on the same page. UK is the best LS down.
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: All Right, there you go. Yeah, I don't I don't
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: know Strabel, but uh, anyway, I hope he's a good guy.
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: So I've never met him before. But all right, everybody,
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: have a great day. We'll see you tomorrow. Just the
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: cats realize what you gotta do.
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: I don't believe that anybody feels a way at two
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: about you now
