- 0:27Speaker 2: Good morning, Chris, Good morning Greg Bell. Chris just lining
- 0:31Speaker 2: up guests like a booking agent over here. We got
- 0:34Speaker 2: Luke Easterling at eleven o'clock today. He is the Athlon Sports,
- 0:37Speaker 2: NFL college football guy. He's been doing it for a
- 0:39Speaker 2: couple decades now, focusing on the NFL and specifically the
- 0:44Speaker 2: NFL Draft.
- 0:45Speaker 1: We'll talk to him at eleven o'clock tomorrow.
- 0:48Speaker 2: He's already got lined up the Kansas position coach for
- 0:51Speaker 2: the sixth round pick the Seahawks took a week and
- 0:53Speaker 2: a half two weeks ago. Emmanuel Henderson Junior. We all
- 0:57Speaker 2: are expecting him to be a gunner and a special
- 0:59Speaker 2: teams for us. But we're gonna talk to his position
- 1:02Speaker 2: coach at Kansas about Emmanuel Henderson, the wide receiver.
- 1:05Speaker 1: We'll do that tomorrow.
- 1:08Speaker 2: We're still working on far and Lawley loalg the TSN
- 1:11Speaker 2: Vancouver hopefully.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Once a week and said Monday's was it was what
- 1:16Speaker 1: we were hoping for Monday. Ye're still working on. There's
- 1:18Speaker 1: lots of recap with him. Yeah, I don't know if
- 1:20Speaker 1: we have enough time for a twenty minute, said we
- 1:22Speaker 1: have to do two segments with him.
- 1:24Speaker 2: We get the dump button work, and I think, yes.
- 1:26Speaker 1: We are. We are fully We're good to go. There,
- 1:29Speaker 1: no more slip ups.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Favorite when he came on last week in a very
- 1:34Speaker 2: colorful conversation with him today on the show, could the
- 1:38Speaker 2: Kansas City Chiefs be the first opponent on opening night
- 1:41Speaker 2: for the NFL season in Lumanfield for the Seahawks? And
- 1:44Speaker 2: sometimes I would say do it. We're talking about why
- 1:46Speaker 2: that chances that may have gone out. Well, we'll talk
- 1:49Speaker 2: a little bit real quick about the NHL Draft lottery,
- 1:51Speaker 2: which I think was rigged in Toronto's favor, and give
- 1:54Speaker 2: you some anecdotal evidence and.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Why it reminds me of Patrick Ewing.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Is that a name you remember?
- 2:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, okay, you know space Jam helped out a
- 2:02Speaker 1: little bit, but absolutely I.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Didn't want to date myself, but yeah, that ANHL draft
- 2:07Speaker 2: lottery last night reminded me of Patrick Ewing.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I'll explain that at after the break.
- 2:12Speaker 2: We're going to talk a depth about the minimal Mariners
- 2:14Speaker 2: offense and how that the Mariners are sending themselves to
- 2:19Speaker 2: losses with their pitching rules that they have.
- 2:22Speaker 1: But yet they break them. Monday night they.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Broke one and it worked, and they didn't break it
- 2:27Speaker 2: last night and it failed. I'm going to talk about
- 2:29Speaker 2: that in depth. Ten forty five, we're going to talk
- 2:32Speaker 2: about the changes I'm hearing may becoming in college football scheduling,
- 2:36Speaker 2: and it'll apparently will affect my Army Navy game.
- 2:41Speaker 1: It has to do with the College Football.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Playoff, expanding the schedule, the transfer portal, and the Army
- 2:46Speaker 2: Navy game, my beloved event. We'll talk about that at
- 2:50Speaker 2: ten forty five. Before Luke E. Strewing joined us four
- 2:52Speaker 2: nine four or five to one that the commodage text
- 2:54Speaker 2: line is we have every day we read back at
- 2:57Speaker 2: eleven thirty your text and be at a part of
- 3:00Speaker 2: the show and yesterday. I mean, we're still getting texts
- 3:03Speaker 2: from yesterday's conversation about coaches, youth sports, high school sports,
- 3:08Speaker 2: and parents, the entitled parents that are driving quality coaches
- 3:11Speaker 2: out of the youth in high school sports room. A
- 3:15Speaker 2: really fascinating conversation started with John Manley of the News Tribune,
- 3:19Speaker 2: the Order wining prep writer Washington State Sports Writer of
- 3:21Speaker 2: the Year, who was on our show yesterday talking about
- 3:24Speaker 2: the gig Harbor High School girls basketball coach who was
- 3:28Speaker 2: fired two weeks ago by the athletic director and then
- 3:30Speaker 2: reinstated by the district yesterday and all kinds of parent
- 3:34Speaker 2: objections and then parents rallying to support instead of parents,
- 3:38Speaker 2: parents and coaches, coach. Parents are making decisions on who
- 3:42Speaker 2: coaches and who doesn't. And we talked about this at length.
- 3:45Speaker 2: If you missed it, go to the iHeartRadio app or download,
- 3:48Speaker 2: or just go to ninety three KJI dot com and
- 3:50Speaker 2: you can hear that interview with John in our discussion,
- 3:52Speaker 2: which sparked a lot. I mean, I've done this now
- 3:56Speaker 2: with nine ten months in the first go around, and
- 3:58Speaker 2: a month or so in this new iteration of this show,
- 4:01Speaker 2: and I haven't gotten that many live in the moment
- 4:05Speaker 2: text about a subject that we're talking about other than
- 4:08Speaker 2: Greg you stink type of stuff. Actually subject matter topical
- 4:12Speaker 2: stuff that I got yesterday. Now I'm just kidding about that.
- 4:15Speaker 2: A lot of positive comments for Chris and me since
- 4:18Speaker 2: we got back on the show and this is the
- 4:20Speaker 2: new ten am the Noon thing, and thank you.
- 4:24Speaker 1: We do appreciate all of that as well.
- 4:26Speaker 2: All right, real quick, why could the Chiefs Now everyone's
- 4:30Speaker 2: been everyone. Most people have been summarising that it's probably
- 4:33Speaker 2: gonna be the Chicago Bears the Niner for the opening
- 4:37Speaker 2: opponent for the Seahawks to kick off the NFL season
- 4:39Speaker 2: on that Wednesday night, September the ninth. It's not gonna
- 4:42Speaker 2: be the Saints for the Rams or forty nine ers
- 4:44Speaker 2: because they're playing each other the next night on a
- 4:46Speaker 2: Thursday in Australia. And so the Dallas Cowboys are possible
- 4:52Speaker 2: there doing the Patriots in the Super Bowl rematch. The
- 4:54Speaker 2: Chicago Bears, most people think, because they are an up
- 4:57Speaker 2: and rising team Caleb Williams, they won the NFC West
- 5:00Speaker 2: excuse me North last season, that that would be an
- 5:05Speaker 2: interesting big market opponent. Well, the Kansas City Chiefs yesterday
- 5:10Speaker 2: said that Patrick Mahomes' rehabilitation from his torn ACL in
- 5:13Speaker 2: December is quote way ahead of schedule, and that the
- 5:16Speaker 2: two time NFL MVP is quote in a good position
- 5:19Speaker 2: unquote to participate in OTA's later this month.
- 5:24Speaker 1: So could the.
- 5:25Speaker 2: League see the Chiefs, says, back in play as the
- 5:27Speaker 2: Seahawks opponent. They know that Patrick Mahomes, if he's doing
- 5:29Speaker 2: OTAs in May, that would pretty much say that he's
- 5:33Speaker 2: going to play in week one, would be available to
- 5:35Speaker 2: play in week one? Does that put the Chiefs back
- 5:38Speaker 2: in play? For the schedule makers? The schedule is supposed
- 5:41Speaker 2: to come out, I've seen now I've been I'm starting
- 5:43Speaker 2: to hear from the league that it may not come
- 5:44Speaker 2: out to the week of May eighteenth. Oh wow, yeah,
- 5:47Speaker 2: about a week later. And the schedule maker for the
- 5:51Speaker 2: NFL apparently is presenting a couple options to Roger Goodell.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Some of those options include whether the Steelers have Aaron
- 6:00Speaker 2: Rodgers are not?
- 6:01Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they're winning a lot. It's you want for
- 6:04Speaker 1: what you mentioned regarding the Chiefs and the Seahawks. I
- 6:07Speaker 1: think of ratings having Mahomes versus the team star prile Seahawks.
- 6:12Speaker 1: That's gonna bring in eyes, like, are the Chiefs back? Yeah?
- 6:16Speaker 1: Would you do that over the Bears? Absolute the Patriots? Yes, yes,
- 6:20Speaker 1: there's If there's one team I would want to see
- 6:23Speaker 1: the Seahawks face to start their season, that isn't those
- 6:26Speaker 1: three teams you named. It's the Chiefs, if it's the
- 6:28Speaker 1: If it's Mahomes. If it's Mahomes, yes, not to mention, Oh,
- 6:32Speaker 1: Kenneth Walker revenge game. Oh you guys didn't want me.
- 6:36Speaker 1: You want to pay me this amount? This is why.
- 6:38Speaker 1: So it's a measuring stick game for both sides. Are
- 6:40Speaker 1: the Chiefs back? That's gonna be the early like, listen,
- 6:43Speaker 1: the Chiefs win, it's gonna be the early thing. Oh
- 6:45Speaker 1: are they back? The Seahawks win? Wasn't the fluke? They're
- 6:48Speaker 1: a really good team. So you can already see the
- 6:50Speaker 1: spin cycle after week one. Hell Monday Morning quarterback with
- 6:54Speaker 1: you and Hugh, it's gonna be all Mahomes look like
- 6:56Speaker 1: he went in the time machine. He never got hurt, right,
- 6:59Speaker 1: Or it could be Mike McDonald had him looking like
- 7:02Speaker 1: he looked at a Super Bowl against the Eagles a
- 7:03Speaker 1: few years back. So I agree with you.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I was thinking it was gonna be the Bears all
- 7:09Speaker 2: this time, I'm on Matta Williams. But now if Mahomes
- 7:12Speaker 2: is in OTAs in May, come on, he's playing right,
- 7:15Speaker 2: He's going to be ready for Week one. And I
- 7:17Speaker 2: would think that these NFL schedule makers are going to
- 7:20Speaker 2: go back and go who whoa whoa waite a minute,
- 7:22Speaker 2: Maybe not Bears, how about Chiefs. Yeah, those kind of
- 7:25Speaker 2: things are why maybe the schedule will come out a
- 7:27Speaker 2: week later than we anticipated.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Perhap.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I'm hearing perhaps May eighteenth, that week for the release
- 7:33Speaker 2: of the schedule four to come a Dodge text line,
- 7:37Speaker 2: who would you like to see the Seahawks play?
- 7:39Speaker 1: First? They probably wanted fans want to see some ass
- 7:43Speaker 1: on Cardinals. Yeah, they don't. They want to see a
- 7:45Speaker 1: team get beat down, and they're just like, yeah, we
- 7:47Speaker 1: wont seventy to nothing week one. Me and you Greg
- 7:50Speaker 1: were like, you know, why don't you bring in the Chiefs.
- 7:52Speaker 1: That'd be a great that'd be a great game. NBC
- 7:55Speaker 1: will not go for the Cardinals. They trade away their
- 7:58Speaker 1: two corners, So now like, okay, what are you doing there?
- 8:01Speaker 1: So yeah, I think this would be and you don't
- 8:04Speaker 1: see the Chiefs, but what every three years or something
- 8:06Speaker 1: crazy only.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Every eight years do they come to Seattle. Every four
- 8:09Speaker 2: years the Seahawks play them in.
- 8:11Speaker 1: It's one of those matchups where you still have Travis Kelsey,
- 8:14Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes like, oh, they got Kenneth Walker. Now it's
- 8:17Speaker 1: the intrigue is there? I would say, I agree, we'll
- 8:20Speaker 1: see what happened.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Mahomes is back. I think that's what it's going to
- 8:23Speaker 2: end up doing. The NHL Draft lottery last night, Toronto
- 8:27Speaker 2: won it despite having one of the lower odds to
- 8:29Speaker 2: do it. They were the fifth highest odds. They hunted
- 8:31Speaker 2: only eight percent chance going in based on their record
- 8:34Speaker 2: in the regular season. It reminds me of the Knicks
- 8:36Speaker 2: in nineteen nineties. The early nineteen nineties, I had a
- 8:40Speaker 2: really terrible season. Patrick Ewing was coming up from Georgetown,
- 8:44Speaker 2: the dominant center. He and Ralph Sampson used to be
- 8:47Speaker 2: just epic battles in college basketball. And I know I'm
- 8:50Speaker 2: dating myself to some of you, but I'm not to others.
- 8:54Speaker 2: And when Patrick Ewing was going to be the bonafid
- 8:56Speaker 2: number one pick, the Knicks won the lottery, and the
- 9:01Speaker 2: next of course at New York and the NBA wanted
- 9:05Speaker 2: to prop up It's Dan Stern Daniel Stern, the NBA
- 9:10Speaker 2: commissioner at the time. David Stern wanted to pump up
- 9:12Speaker 2: the New York team and the biggest media market by
- 9:15Speaker 2: putting Patrick Ewing there. They got the number one pick.
- 9:18Speaker 2: It was Patrick Ewing the next go to the NBA
- 9:20Speaker 2: Finals a couple of years after that. That's what reminded
- 9:24Speaker 2: me of yesterday with Toronto winning the Maple Leafs the Yankees,
- 9:28Speaker 2: the knicks of the NHL in the city that the
- 9:31Speaker 2: NHL is headquartered in Toronto, wouldn't put it past Gary
- 9:35Speaker 2: Bettman at all to have nudged the ping pong balls
- 9:39Speaker 2: Toronto's way. Mike Benton was on with Chuck pal about
- 9:43Speaker 2: half hour forty five minutes ago, explaining the NHL has
- 9:46Speaker 2: a little bit of precedent here of shading things towards
- 9:49Speaker 2: teams that need Well.
- 9:50Speaker 3: If I could put it this way, it's kind of
- 9:52Speaker 3: funny how it worked out, Shuck. I mean, I don't
- 9:54Speaker 3: want to go there and be that guy and assume
- 9:57Speaker 3: that it basically is rigged, but it's just kind of
- 10:00Speaker 3: funny how it works out. Where you know, you have
- 10:02Speaker 3: the Maple Leaves, who you know might be this close
- 10:04Speaker 3: to tearing it down. Ten years ago, they got Austin Matthews.
- 10:07Speaker 3: All of a sudden boom, they fall into the first
- 10:09Speaker 3: overall pick and moved up from five, and they're basically
- 10:12Speaker 3: getting the first Riots here to Gavin McKenna. Then you
- 10:15Speaker 3: have Chicago getting Connor Badard. Then you have you know,
- 10:18Speaker 3: San Jose trying to get back on track with no
- 10:21Speaker 3: Joe Thornton, no Patrick Marlowe. And you know, they had
- 10:23Speaker 3: to go through some lean years, but they got map
- 10:25Speaker 3: In Celabrini. But then I even go back to when
- 10:29Speaker 3: Pittsburgh was nearly bankrupt and were on the verge of
- 10:33Speaker 3: moving about twenty years ago, and then they wind up
- 10:35Speaker 3: with a guy moving on from Mario Lemu to a
- 10:37Speaker 3: guy named Sidney Crosby.
- 10:39Speaker 1: And then you okay, enough with the Penguin slander. He's
- 10:42Speaker 1: right about that.
- 10:43Speaker 2: It's been twice that the Penguins were about to leave Pittsburgh.
- 10:46Speaker 2: When I was grown up, they were going to go
- 10:47Speaker 2: to Portland and move into the old Memorial Coliseum. And
- 10:50Speaker 2: then Mary Lemu arrived at Pittsburgh and save Pittsburgh hockey,
- 10:54Speaker 2: and then the Penguins were rumored to be moving again,
- 10:58Speaker 2: maybe just Charlotte maybe to Nashville time they didn't have
- 11:00Speaker 2: a team and Sidney Crosby arrived to save it again
- 11:03Speaker 2: and Mary olymw became a team owner.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Leagues can do this.
- 11:07Speaker 2: They can influence events that can result in franchises strengthening
- 11:13Speaker 2: and propping themselves up. The Mayle Beliefs have only missed
- 11:16Speaker 2: the playoffs twice in the last eleven years, yet they've
- 11:20Speaker 2: won the NHL Draft Lottery both those times. They got
- 11:23Speaker 2: Austin Matthews. Last time, they're gonna get Gavin McKenna, the
- 11:27Speaker 2: presumed number one pick this time. Chris is a point
- 11:31Speaker 2: of comparison. The old Phoenix Arizona Coyotes missed the playoffs
- 11:36Speaker 2: eighteen times. You know how many times they won the
- 11:39Speaker 2: NHL Draft Lottery as many times as you and I did.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Zero.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Come on, Phoenix was always a little bit of a
- 11:49Speaker 2: black sheep of the NHL and arena issues and the
- 11:53Speaker 2: NHL trying to strong arm a new arena deal and
- 11:56Speaker 2: the Phoenix in the valley. No nobody went for the municipalities,
- 11:59Speaker 2: and then they moved them the Utah Mammoth. They didn't
- 12:03Speaker 2: win one draft latter in eighteen tries. Toronto's won two
- 12:06Speaker 2: and eleven.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Come on, I mean the ping pong balls can be
- 12:10Speaker 1: weited just so.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Anyway, the Kraken at seven, that's not exactly a top
- 12:16Speaker 2: tier pick. Like the guy you're gonna pick gonna be
- 12:18Speaker 2: in the NHL tomorrow. It's not Gavin McKenna, it's not
- 12:21Speaker 2: Connor Bdard for the Chicago Blackhawks refusually, it's not Austin
- 12:24Speaker 2: Matthews from ten years ago with the Maple Leafs. So
- 12:28Speaker 2: at seven, you may not get your immediate impact guy
- 12:32Speaker 2: that you need, a scorer that you need to change
- 12:35Speaker 2: the Seattle cracking franchise.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Do you trade it?
- 12:39Speaker 2: And Mike Benton and Chuck talked about do you trade
- 12:41Speaker 2: it to get Austin Matthews who may want out of
- 12:43Speaker 2: Toronto which is starting over in every place, but Austin Matthews.
- 12:47Speaker 2: It's got a new GM coach, Berube might stay. That
- 12:52Speaker 2: whole GM fiasco. I don't know if you saw the
- 12:54Speaker 2: press conference. Chris of the reporter in Toronto who went
- 12:57Speaker 2: right after the president that he went after said she
- 13:01Speaker 2: it was a failed former Arizona Coyotes GM who got
- 13:05Speaker 2: caught by the league cheating and holding tryouts outside of
- 13:08Speaker 2: the HL combine and this guy went in, why did
- 13:12Speaker 2: you pick Everyone I've talked to in the league, I've
- 13:15Speaker 2: talked to twe actually actually specific I've talked to twenty
- 13:18Speaker 2: people in the league. Nineteen of them said this is
- 13:20Speaker 2: a bad hire. Why did you hire this guy? Nobody
- 13:24Speaker 2: else in the league? Who did you talk to that
- 13:25Speaker 2: I didn't talk to? That's what the question was.
- 13:27Speaker 1: That is talk about drop on your nuts? Good lord man?
- 13:32Speaker 1: That is aggressive. So this is a beat guy drun out.
- 13:36Speaker 1: He did his research. You go to someone talking like that,
- 13:39Speaker 1: you you have, you have answers on top of answers.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Can you imagine somebody in the Seattle market? Did you
- 13:45Speaker 1: do that for John Schnyder? John, Why did you do this?
- 13:48Speaker 1: I know for a fact the twenty people, nineteen of
- 13:52Speaker 1: them basically saying you're bad at your job. That's what
- 13:54Speaker 1: you're telling him, You're not good at your job. I
- 13:56Speaker 1: did this research and found out this guy is not
- 13:57Speaker 1: even good enough, didn't you? Jodge got mad when I
- 14:00Speaker 1: asked him what his quarterback in the future play. Hey, hey, hey, hey, Greg,
- 14:04Speaker 1: I mean, man, we just come on, is that a
- 14:07Speaker 1: real question you asking us right now? Uh? Yeah, I
- 14:10Speaker 1: am I'm curious, what are your thoughts. Oh, that was great.
- 14:12Speaker 1: If you haven't seen online about the Make the Leaf
- 14:14Speaker 1: Shutle mag it was great. It was really good. It
- 14:18Speaker 1: was really good. Uh four nine four five one. It's
- 14:21Speaker 1: coming out to text line.
- 14:22Speaker 2: I'm already getting one response and it's a it's a
- 14:25Speaker 2: valid point two six. Mahomes is just back from injury
- 14:29Speaker 2: and the NFL is going to put him up against
- 14:30Speaker 2: the seahawks number one ranked defense.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Gam right, money talks, baby, you know what. You know what.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes brings eyes and you're go and watch too,
- 14:40Speaker 1: just like the rest of us. So it's okay, Hurd
- 14:42Speaker 1: or not if he on that rafter as healthy. Greenlit
- 14:46Speaker 1: a Seahawks Week one Chiefs Seahawks Wednesday night football. Get
- 14:51Speaker 1: her done. I think you're right about that.
- 14:53Speaker 2: We'll reing back your text at eleven thirty up next
- 14:56Speaker 2: the Mariners.
- 14:57Speaker 1: They have such a small margin for winning skip then
- 15:02Speaker 1: we could go fast. I don't even know if people
- 15:05Speaker 1: would care. They were like, you know what, Chris and Greg,
- 15:08Speaker 1: we understand.
- 15:08Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm going to bring it up for not
- 15:11Speaker 2: to just bludgeon you all with more of the negative,
- 15:14Speaker 2: but to give you some perspective on these rules the
- 15:16Speaker 2: Mariners have about using relief pictures am starting pitchers for
- 15:19Speaker 2: that matter, based on what George Kirby was doing last night.
- 15:23Speaker 1: And Andres Muno's and non safe situation.
- 15:26Speaker 2: We'll talk about that next eleven o'clock Easter League of
- 15:28Speaker 2: Athlon Sports talk about the NFL lost Kim who the
- 15:31Speaker 2: Seahawks should, whether the Chiefs and the league should throw
- 15:35Speaker 2: Patrick Mahomes to.
- 15:36Speaker 1: The Wolves in week one.
- 15:37Speaker 2: He'll be coming on at eleven o'clock. Thanks for joining us.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Plenty more to come on ninety three point three kJ RFM.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Now back to Greg Bell and Christopher Kidd on your
- 15:46Speaker 4: home for the Huskies, Kracket and the twelfth Man Sports
- 15:50Speaker 4: Radio ninety three point three kJ r FM, loving back.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Thank you for joining us.
- 16:03Speaker 2: On Wednesday, the Greg bellt Show at Christopher Kidd eleven
- 16:07Speaker 2: o'clock Luke Easterland, Afron Sports will join us to talk
- 16:10Speaker 2: about the NFL and maybe I'll bring up what I
- 16:12Speaker 2: brought up last segment. Should the Chiefs now be the Seahawks'
- 16:16Speaker 2: first game NFL opening opponent Wednesday, September ninth at lumen Field. Okay,
- 16:21Speaker 2: I won't call it the stadium and Sodo. Someone on
- 16:23Speaker 2: the text line is complaining about me calling it the
- 16:25Speaker 2: yard and Sodo, asking to say that it's a stretch.
- 16:28Speaker 2: The reason I do that is I don't want to
- 16:30Speaker 2: completely bow down the corporate sponsorship of the yards the
- 16:33Speaker 2: stadiums that these teams play in. Yeah, everyone knows it's
- 16:36Speaker 2: Team Mobile Park. Do I need to say tea Mobile
- 16:38Speaker 2: Park over and over and over again just because they
- 16:41Speaker 2: put money up to us to say that? If I
- 16:43Speaker 2: say the yard and those of us have covered I
- 16:45Speaker 2: used to be a baseball beat, right, Are you call
- 16:46Speaker 2: it the yard? That's just the parlay and so it's
- 16:49Speaker 2: the Yard and Soto and I think people can put
- 16:52Speaker 2: those dots together. I'm sorry if it offended somebody, but yeah,
- 16:57Speaker 2: I think everybody else understands this Team Mobile Park. But
- 17:00Speaker 2: the point is that Patrick Mahomes is down back from
- 17:03Speaker 2: ACL to the point that the Chiefs are saying there's
- 17:05Speaker 2: a good shot that he's going to be in Ota
- 17:07Speaker 2: practices later this month into next month, and if he's
- 17:10Speaker 2: practicing in May and June, it's a pretty good sign
- 17:13Speaker 2: he's going to play in September. Right in Week one,
- 17:15Speaker 2: that had been the hesitation most people thought of putting
- 17:18Speaker 2: the Chiefs as the Seahawks opponent in the league opener
- 17:22Speaker 2: because of Mahomes isn't playing, and there goes the marketability
- 17:25Speaker 2: and watchability of that.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Game, or at least as nationally.
- 17:29Speaker 2: But if Mahomes is playing, as Chris said, as oh,
- 17:31Speaker 2: let's see how back Mahomes is.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Put him in the number one defense and the let
- 17:36Speaker 1: him out there. Let's see what my McDonald draws up.
- 17:42Speaker 2: We're going to talk also next about college football changes
- 17:44Speaker 2: coming and scheduling. Coaches are asking for changes that relate
- 17:48Speaker 2: to the transfer portal, and it could relate to the
- 17:50Speaker 2: Army Davy game that Jessman McIntyre and I will be
- 17:54Speaker 2: going to again right now, the second week of December,
- 17:57Speaker 2: second weekend of December this year. It's in New York City.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Were right outside New York City in the meadowlands. Jessman
- 18:03Speaker 2: McIntyre will be there for KJR.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Okay, should we do it?
- 18:07Speaker 2: The Mariners are some of the text lines say just
- 18:08Speaker 2: skip the Mariners.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Well again, eighteen and seventeen.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Leads the American League West and the Mariners are seventeen
- 18:16Speaker 2: and twenty so two games is all that separates them
- 18:19Speaker 2: from first place.
- 18:20Speaker 1: As bad as they have been, and as.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Chris and I just keep saying, a five and six
- 18:24Speaker 2: game winning streak will put them in first place, we
- 18:27Speaker 2: start with a bright spot, which is Kirby. Yeah, George kirk,
- 18:32Speaker 2: let's start there. George Kirby threw eighty eight pitches through
- 18:34Speaker 2: seven innings last night. He allowed the best offense in
- 18:37Speaker 2: baseball just five hits, two runs. As our friend Luke Arkins,
- 18:42Speaker 2: even though he's a Navy guy, I like him of
- 18:45Speaker 2: the Mariners. Consickly, your newsletter pointed out last night online,
- 18:48Speaker 2: every out you can get in the late endings from
- 18:51Speaker 2: a starter is that much better for this Mariner's bullpen.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Think about it.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Matt Brash is out injured, Gabe Spier is now out injured.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Those your two primary right and left setup guys, and
- 19:01Speaker 2: Andres Munos is just getting pummeled, especially if it's not
- 19:05Speaker 2: in a non safe situation as it was last night.
- 19:09Speaker 2: So Luke Arkins's point is stretcher eighty eight pitches, George
- 19:14Speaker 2: Kirby did he need to come out there?
- 19:16Speaker 1: Andy was efficient?
- 19:18Speaker 2: Yeah, seven innings, eighty eight pitches, the best offensive baseball
- 19:23Speaker 2: had just five hits and two runs.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Even of Braves.
- 19:26Speaker 2: And it's not like Kirby has like eighty eight some
- 19:29Speaker 2: magic ceiling. He's pitched ninety nine pitches this season, ninety six.
- 19:33Speaker 2: He pitched ninety seven in his previous start.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I think he's evolving from a good young starter to
- 19:41Speaker 1: potentially that workhorse, like I see it. Maybe I'm wrong again,
- 19:45Speaker 1: I will admit I am still learning this game. But
- 19:49Speaker 1: he gives this team a chance every outing that he's
- 19:53Speaker 1: on the mound. And for whatever reason, maybe is those
- 19:56Speaker 1: analytics kicking in I say, leaved or out there? Yeah,
- 20:00Speaker 1: let him keep going. I just don't understand. It was
- 20:04Speaker 1: a close game. It's not too too tired. We're not
- 20:06Speaker 1: talking ten nine, all right, man, get him. It's a
- 20:09Speaker 1: tied game. Let him close, let him finish it.
- 20:12Speaker 5: He can go twenty more pitches scanny even ten even
- 20:16Speaker 5: if he gets through the eighth inning. That's one fewer
- 20:20Speaker 5: reliever you have to use in a bullpen that's now
- 20:22Speaker 5: been injury ravaged and your two primary setup guys are
- 20:25Speaker 5: you know who the best reliever is right now? Jose Ferrera,
- 20:29Speaker 5: the guy that got in the trade for Harry Ford
- 20:31Speaker 5: from the Nationals. You traded a top prospect Harry Ford.
- 20:39Speaker 5: You got Pharreir Farer needed ten pitches last night to
- 20:43Speaker 5: get through the Braves in the eighth inning. But the
- 20:46Speaker 5: marriage that bullpen rolls and about not having a reliever
- 20:50Speaker 5: go through an inning, sit down and get back up
- 20:52Speaker 5: and go to another inning, they took him out and
- 20:56Speaker 5: I guess who was on.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Guess it was leading off the top of the night
- 20:58Speaker 1: for the Braves, Matt Olson.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Do you know what Matt Olsen's lifetime numbers against Jose
- 21:05Speaker 2: frerear one for eight with three strikeouts the night before.
- 21:11Speaker 1: So that's their Mariner's rule.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Reliever pitches an inning, they don't want to have him
- 21:17Speaker 2: come back in for the next inning, even though it
- 21:19Speaker 2: would have been left on left with Olsen, which is
- 21:21Speaker 2: another analytics golden rule, right the handedness thing.
- 21:26Speaker 1: They would have been left on left.
- 21:27Speaker 2: With a guy who's one for eight with three strikeouts,
- 21:30Speaker 2: one of the top home run hitters in the National League.
- 21:34Speaker 1: No, no, no, let's not do that.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Let's make sure Munjos comes in to start the inning
- 21:38Speaker 2: in a non safe situation. Right handed Munos against left
- 21:42Speaker 2: hander Olsen. Fourth pitch into the pen where the beer
- 21:45Speaker 2: garden is. Braves take a three to two league, and
- 21:48Speaker 2: guess which pitch it was.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Again.
- 21:49Speaker 2: We've been talking about this on this show since I
- 21:50Speaker 2: came back. The slider guy throws three hundred miles an
- 21:54Speaker 2: hour and he keeps getting hit on the slider. He
- 21:57Speaker 2: doesn't have the command of the slider anymore, or maybe
- 21:59Speaker 2: enough man of the fastball to get people to bite
- 22:01Speaker 2: on the slider. He got beat on the slider again,
- 22:04Speaker 2: home run, Mariners lose. They say they have this role
- 22:11Speaker 2: of the guy pitches an ending, not sit and start
- 22:15Speaker 2: a new ending. Yet the night before they'd done it well.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Dan Wilson let for to begin the new ending the
- 22:23Speaker 2: night before after a scoreless seventh. He began the eighth
- 22:25Speaker 2: against Matt Olsen, same situation one night earlier, and Ferrer
- 22:31Speaker 2: got Olsen to fly out on his fourth pitch for
- 22:33Speaker 2: air exited game. The Mariners happened to win that one
- 22:36Speaker 2: because there wasn't a home run leading off the ending.
- 22:38Speaker 2: The farrera had been taken out of our friend Daniel Kramer,
- 22:42Speaker 2: the Mariners beat right at for MLB dot Com, who
- 22:44Speaker 2: we plan on having on the show pretty soon. A
- 22:47Speaker 2: regular Basis wrote that Ferrer has faced Olsen more times
- 22:50Speaker 2: than all but two batters in the relievers one hundred
- 22:53Speaker 2: and sixty one career outing, so they know each other,
- 22:55Speaker 2: and Frere's gotten the better of him most times, seven
- 22:58Speaker 2: out of eight times. Kramer All also pointed out that
- 23:01Speaker 2: the last two seasons, Munos has entered a game with
- 23:04Speaker 2: no men on and no men out start of ending
- 23:07Speaker 2: sixty nine times in seventy two outings before extra innings.
- 23:11Speaker 1: So that's what they do. But get this in save situations.
- 23:14Speaker 2: This year, Munos has thirty three played appearances against a
- 23:18Speaker 2: one to sixty seven batting average allowed five to nine OPS,
- 23:22Speaker 2: two five to two on base two four to two
- 23:24Speaker 2: on base percentage non save situation.
- 23:26Speaker 1: That's one sixty seven.
- 23:28Speaker 2: With a two four to two OPS in safe situation
- 23:30Speaker 2: non save situations, andres Munos three point thirty three batting
- 23:34Speaker 2: average double nine to thirty five OPS double almost double
- 23:40Speaker 2: three ninety three on base percentage from two forty two
- 23:43Speaker 2: to three ninety three in a non safe situation for
- 23:46Speaker 2: on base percentage, man, if for a teina's that much
- 23:50Speaker 2: into analytics and numbers and iPads, did they have some
- 23:54Speaker 2: kind of block of data they can't get that through
- 23:56Speaker 2: their iPad. I mean, I get it your bullpen is injured,
- 24:02Speaker 2: you don't have leverage, guys, two of the biggest ones.
- 24:05Speaker 2: You use munos in the ninth there, But why not
- 24:09Speaker 2: use munos when the game's tied by having Ferrera pitch
- 24:11Speaker 2: to Olsen because of their rules about and two nights
- 24:14Speaker 2: in a row. And it ain't gonna be early pretty soon.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I know, it's early in the season and you want
- 24:20Speaker 2: to rest and pace pitchers and whatnot. It ain't gonna
- 24:25Speaker 2: be early too soon. You keep doing this, and when
- 24:29Speaker 2: an offense is scoring two runs with only home runs singles,
- 24:35Speaker 2: remember the last two the game they won on Monday
- 24:37Speaker 2: night against the Braves. The only reason they won is
- 24:39Speaker 2: that j Pre Crawford hit a two run homer and
- 24:41Speaker 2: Luke Ralely hit a three run homer.
- 24:43Speaker 1: That was it six Yeah, I don't know, Chris, same
- 24:47Speaker 1: old story. It is three hits sixteen? Was it strikeouts? Yes?
- 24:51Speaker 1: JP Crawford provides that spark and then that was it.
- 24:55Speaker 1: And then you talked about munos and the pitching. You know,
- 24:58Speaker 1: it's just, oh my goodness, he got to stop falling
- 25:01Speaker 1: behind in these counts because that's what's really killing him.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Like his I believe his first pitch strike rate is down.
- 25:08Speaker 1: That might be the big root of everything. True, good point.
- 25:11Speaker 2: If it was two to oh last night to Oulsen
- 25:13Speaker 2: and then it was two to one and the slider
- 25:15Speaker 2: on two to one is the one that got hit.
- 25:16Speaker 1: For the home run. So it's like he needs to
- 25:18Speaker 1: stop falling behind the pitch count like that. That pitch
- 25:21Speaker 1: strike issues me. That would I think change a lot
- 25:24Speaker 1: of his game. But it's just I don't know if
- 25:27Speaker 1: it's bad luck, it's he's fall behind, he becomes hittable.
- 25:32Speaker 1: As you mentioned, Oh, the slider's coming. Well, yeah, if
- 25:35Speaker 1: Greg knows that, what do you who do you think
- 25:37Speaker 1: is in the box getting ready to smack out of
- 25:38Speaker 1: the park.
- 25:39Speaker 2: And if you know the pitch is coming and it's
- 25:41Speaker 2: only eighty six miles an hour as a major league hitter,
- 25:43Speaker 2: that's that's a lot different than one hundred, which is
- 25:46Speaker 2: what his fastball is.
- 25:47Speaker 1: So here's the thing. Seventeen and twenty offensive inconsistency check,
- 25:54Speaker 1: closer regression check, and guess what they're doing. Finally, not finally,
- 25:59Speaker 1: the last slide wasting elite starting pitching yet again. Now
- 26:04Speaker 1: Greg's point is correct. There are only a few games
- 26:07Speaker 1: out of the first place. It is not as if
- 26:09Speaker 1: they are ten games out and they need a massive
- 26:12Speaker 1: win streak and a team to suck as well. Right now,
- 26:16Speaker 1: this team is not collapsing. They're just uneven. They gotta
- 26:20Speaker 1: figure out how to get a neutral. I don't know
- 26:22Speaker 1: what it's gonna take. Maybe some consistency, that's the word.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Find some consistency within what you're already doing. And I
- 26:29Speaker 1: think this team can get out of this wret now.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Winning today would definitely help. Best team in baseball? Can
- 26:35Speaker 1: you beat them in a series? That'll tell you everything
- 26:38Speaker 1: you need to know about this team right now. I'm
- 26:40Speaker 1: not jumping too far ahead. I'm not jumping on them
- 26:43Speaker 1: as if they're a bad team. I just want to
- 26:45Speaker 1: see a little consistency. And they have been up and down,
- 26:48Speaker 1: so it's a fun roller coaster that they're on this season,
- 26:50Speaker 1: and I'm hoping that they can, hoping they can just
- 26:53Speaker 1: get steady and go straightforward instead of going up and
- 26:56Speaker 1: then dropping down immediately, and that's what it's been.
- 26:59Speaker 2: I'd rather talk about coaches leaving youth sports. Honestly, Well,
- 27:02Speaker 2: let's get her on.
- 27:03Speaker 1: You know, my goodness, maybe she'll come on. We should
- 27:05Speaker 1: call Michelle Barrett see if she want to do it,
- 27:08Speaker 1: you know, and see if she'd like to. Yeah, we should.
- 27:11Speaker 1: You know.
- 27:12Speaker 2: What I've been talking to Chris Seagan and others about
- 27:14Speaker 2: possibly doing this fall for football season is to have
- 27:16Speaker 2: a regular weekly high school football segment on our show,
- 27:21Speaker 2: highlighting the game of the week and maybe get the
- 27:24Speaker 2: coaches on.
- 27:24Speaker 1: It'd be tough to get players on in the middle
- 27:26Speaker 1: of the school day. We're not touching these players because
- 27:27Speaker 1: these kids are going to be on there. I used
- 27:29Speaker 1: to do that in Ohio High school. Now, if you
- 27:31Speaker 1: can go down there, that changes everything. Yes, because when
- 27:34Speaker 1: they see you, it's more of a yes. I don't
- 27:36Speaker 1: even know what the word is, but seeing someone versus
- 27:39Speaker 1: just calling some dude on the radio is like Yeah.
- 27:42Speaker 1: When I played Ohio high school football, dating myself a lot.
- 27:46Speaker 1: This was nineteen eighty seven, nineteen eighty eight, we.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Played in front of twelve fifteen thousand people in a
- 27:51Speaker 2: town that had twenty five thousand people.
- 27:53Speaker 1: That's a true story.
- 27:54Speaker 2: If you ever saw All the Right Moves, Tom Cruise's
- 27:56Speaker 2: first big movie before Risky Business, that was my child.
- 28:00Speaker 1: All the Right Moves.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Anyway, they used to call me out of class. I'd
- 28:05Speaker 2: get a little note from the office saying WTOV is calling,
- 28:08Speaker 2: the TV station is calling, or the radio station WSTV
- 28:11Speaker 2: is calling, and they want to interview about the game
- 28:13Speaker 2: on Friday.
- 28:14Speaker 1: This happened all the time, all the time. It's Ohio
- 28:18Speaker 1: high school football. That's just the way it was. And
- 28:23Speaker 1: that's a Christ's point. That's unheard of to do that here.
- 28:26Speaker 2: But anyway, we're thinking about having a regular high school
- 28:29Speaker 2: sports segment, but mainly during football season for the big
- 28:32Speaker 2: football games coming up four.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Nine, four five, it's coming out to Texan. Is that
- 28:36Speaker 1: something you all would like to Is there an appetite
- 28:38Speaker 1: for that? I think so. I think a lot of
- 28:40Speaker 1: people know. If there is an appetite, you will bring
- 28:42Speaker 1: in a new appetite people because they will be excited
- 28:45Speaker 1: to hear their child on the station. Chriss I like
- 28:47Speaker 1: it or not. That's what we're playing on doing up
- 28:50Speaker 1: next college football. I'm hearing changes are on the way
- 28:54Speaker 1: related to the transfer portal and it might affect the
- 28:57Speaker 1: Army Navy game, the college football playoff. That's next.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Three point three KJRFM, Welcome back to the Greg Belt
- 29:14Speaker 2: Show with Christopher Kid Live on ninety three point three
- 29:16Speaker 2: KJRFM some Sonics news.
- 29:21Speaker 1: The return of the Sonics news this morning.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Bloomberg News Randa Williams Anna Eggerton are reporting this. I'll
- 29:29Speaker 2: just read the top of the story from Bloomberg News
- 29:32Speaker 2: this morning. Samantha Halloway has long been considered the front
- 29:35Speaker 2: runner to secure the NBA expansion team in Seattle. Now
- 29:39Speaker 2: she's hired investment banks JP, Morgan Chasing Company and Molison
- 29:43Speaker 2: Company as her advisors. A spokesman for Holloway's company confirmed
- 29:47Speaker 2: the move after an inquiry from Bloomberg News. Of course,
- 29:51Speaker 2: Samantha Halloway has been preparing to make a bid on
- 29:54Speaker 2: the return of the Sonics and be the principal owner
- 29:57Speaker 2: of the team that could fetch as much as tens
- 30:00Speaker 2: million with a b dollars in expansion fees to the
- 30:03Speaker 2: league to rejoin the NBA. The vote on this, the
- 30:08Speaker 2: NBA Commissioner Adam Silvers recently said, may not come until
- 30:11Speaker 2: the fall, but that doesn't mean that the potential owners
- 30:16Speaker 2: and bidders aren't lining up, and Samantha Holloway has already
- 30:19Speaker 2: formed one roof Sports and Entertainment as the entity that
- 30:25Speaker 2: would be the operators of both the Kraken and the
- 30:29Speaker 2: Sonics playing in their owned key here owned building climate Plagerina.
- 30:35Speaker 2: That's what makes Samantha Holloway's group the most logical and
- 30:39Speaker 2: attractive bidders in this process is that they owned the
- 30:43Speaker 2: building that the Sonics would play in. Remember, the building
- 30:46Speaker 2: was built to NBA specifications by Oakview Group, which is
- 30:49Speaker 2: headed by Toddlightwiki the Crack and CEO's brother Tim. They
- 30:54Speaker 2: build it with the suites, the sideline, none of that
- 30:56Speaker 2: key arena stuff that. Remember it was no suites, bad
- 31:01Speaker 2: site lines, couldn't put an NHL and team in there
- 31:03Speaker 2: without restricted obstructed views.
- 31:07Speaker 1: None of that.
- 31:08Speaker 2: This was built the NBA specs and NHL arena by
- 31:11Speaker 2: the Oakfield Group for this eventuality that is apparently coming
- 31:17Speaker 2: maybe in the fall of twenty twenty eight, if they
- 31:20Speaker 2: can get the vote secured. But in the meantime while
- 31:22Speaker 2: they decide on when they're going to vote on this,
- 31:24Speaker 2: Samantha Holloway is hiring investment banks JP Morgan and Molison
- 31:28Speaker 2: Company as her advisors. That's the news this morning from
- 31:31Speaker 2: Blueberg News. Yesterday, the American Football Coaches Association Board announced
- 31:37Speaker 2: for calendar changes they're proposing to college football. They want
- 31:42Speaker 2: to end conference championship games. Just do away with them.
- 31:45Speaker 2: The time has run its course. It started in the
- 31:47Speaker 2: early nineties with the Southeastern Conference having a conference title game,
- 31:50Speaker 2: and then a bunch of others TV networks joined in.
- 31:54Speaker 2: But now with an expanded college football Playoff, there's not
- 31:58Speaker 2: much need for one other than cluttering up the schedule
- 32:00Speaker 2: with more games chances for guys getting hurt. Both almost
- 32:04Speaker 2: in every case of the major every case of the
- 32:07Speaker 2: major conferences, both teams, almost always both teams in a
- 32:11Speaker 2: conference title game are going to qualify for the expanded
- 32:14Speaker 2: college football Playoff. The second thing the Coaches Associations recommending
- 32:20Speaker 2: is that they reduce open weeks in the seasons from
- 32:22Speaker 2: two to one. A lot of teams, including the Washington
- 32:24Speaker 2: Huskies last year, have two by weeks. They are now
- 32:27Speaker 2: proposing that that week zero, the last weekend of August,
- 32:31Speaker 2: that there might be a three or four or five game,
- 32:33Speaker 2: maybe a game in Ireland. They're proposing that the entire
- 32:37Speaker 2: college football season begin that weekend and the last weekend
- 32:40Speaker 2: of August. The other thing they are proposing the College
- 32:45Speaker 2: Football Board preserving an exclusive window for the Army Navy
- 32:49Speaker 2: game here here, but there may be postseason games to
- 32:54Speaker 2: be played on the same day as the Army Navy game,
- 32:56Speaker 2: so just a three hour window that the game could
- 32:58Speaker 2: be the only game going on. Right now, it's the
- 33:01Speaker 2: second Saturday in December. I'm hearing Chris that the Army
- 33:04Speaker 2: Navy game potentially could move to Thanksgiving weekend. I'm not
- 33:09Speaker 2: sure how I feel about that. I know how the
- 33:11Speaker 2: Cadets and the midshipman feel about that. No way, that's
- 33:14Speaker 2: one of.
- 33:14Speaker 1: The few times they all get to go home free
- 33:17Speaker 1: leave during the academic year.
- 33:21Speaker 2: The Coaches Board also wants to is recommending that the
- 33:24Speaker 2: College Football reduced the number a minimum number of days
- 33:28Speaker 2: between games to no fewer than six, so that you
- 33:31Speaker 2: don't have a Friday game followed by well, let's say
- 33:35Speaker 2: a Thursday game, a Saturday game followed by a Thursday
- 33:37Speaker 2: night game for television, or even a Friday night game
- 33:41Speaker 2: on the West Coast.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Is off that happens in the Big Ten?
- 33:44Speaker 2: The Coaches Board, why are they doing all this? The
- 33:46Speaker 2: Coaches Board wants to end the season earlier in January,
- 33:49Speaker 2: before the two week college Football Transfer Portal ends January sixteenth,
- 33:54Speaker 2: because now what you have is players. This happened last
- 33:57Speaker 2: year with Texas A and M and others Chris Miss
- 34:00Speaker 2: Sippy players that were in the College Football playoff transferred,
- 34:05Speaker 2: went into the portal and left the teams while they're
- 34:08Speaker 2: in the middle of the playoffs. I mean, that's ridiculous.
- 34:12Speaker 2: It's just beyond absurd. So they're saying, let's move up
- 34:17Speaker 2: the schedule and have the playoffs end before the portal ends,
- 34:21Speaker 2: so players aren't enticed to do that, And of course,
- 34:25Speaker 2: what entice is.
- 34:25Speaker 1: A player to do that? Money?
- 34:27Speaker 2: And if the boatload of money gets offered, I'm just
- 34:30Speaker 2: gonna use a hypothetical. I don't know why I'm gonna.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Use these two schools.
- 34:32Speaker 2: If LSU offers an old Miss player in the middle
- 34:35Speaker 2: of the playoffs tons of money, a couple million dollars
- 34:37Speaker 2: to come now or the offer's gone, they signed with
- 34:40Speaker 2: Lane Kiffen and that has happened. So that's what the
- 34:45Speaker 2: College Football Coaches Association is trying to avoid with changing
- 34:50Speaker 2: the schedule. So we could see changes the college football
- 34:54Speaker 2: including August games, including earlier playoff games, the Army Navy
- 34:59Speaker 2: game potentially going I'm hearing too Thanksgiving weekend top next
- 35:04Speaker 2: Luke Westerling, oh Easterling the other side of the state.
- 35:08Speaker 1: He's going to join us.
- 35:09Speaker 2: He's the f on NFL writer, going to talk about
- 35:13Speaker 2: his views of the NFL draft. Who he thought has
- 35:17Speaker 2: made strides, Which team in this offseason has made strides
- 35:20Speaker 2: toward improving and closing a gap on the Super Bowl
- 35:22Speaker 2: champion Seahawks, What he talked about running backs, he's written
- 35:25Speaker 2: about running backs in this draft, in particular. I'm going
- 35:28Speaker 2: to ask him about Jeddarian Price, the Seahawks taking him
- 35:30Speaker 2: in the first round, what he thought of that, and
- 35:32Speaker 2: whether Patrick Mahomes's Kansas City Chiefs is likely to be
- 35:36Speaker 2: the team the Seahawks play on the first weekend, first
- 35:39Speaker 2: game of the NFL season in September. All that's coming
- 35:42Speaker 2: up with Luke Easterling next eleven thirty will reback your
- 35:44Speaker 2: text four nine, four to five one on ninety three
- 35:46Speaker 2: point three KJRFM
