- 0:00If it is the worldwide sports radio, network radio.
- 0:04Network believe in that. They're going to give him a
- 0:07significant they're going to have a ton of money to spend.
- 0:09Why not putting in one of the top three offensive players in
- 0:12the league? We're going to be.
- 0:21Looking at Aaron George and saying that he can't win the big
- 0:24game, Michael Jordan said. I played 82 games.
- 0:28You don't see the fun doing that?
- 0:29A game where you got to go. Before I told you Giant fans,
- 0:34Saquon Barkley at this point. Do it.
- 1:35You're listening to Jabba and the mouth.
- 1:37Mouth. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and
- 1:43girls, I'm back from Montreal, Canada.
- 1:48Yes, my name is Errol Marx and I am here at the Worldwide Sports
- 1:54Radio Network studios, finally back here in Long Island, New
- 1:59York and you know our number, 631-672-3108.
- 2:05You know who we are. We're Jabba and the Mouth.
- 2:09I just gave my name, my Co host Jabba Chamberlain, Mr.
- 2:13Flamethrower and Speedy Petey, no Aaron Fish Fishman.
- 2:18Tonight our executive producer is hanging out in LA for his
- 2:22birthday. He is number 4040 years of the
- 2:26age and he is crying about it. I don't know why.
- 2:29I'm 43 there's nothing to cry about.
- 2:32A job I just turned 40, there's nothing to cry.
- 2:35Ladies and gentlemen, age is just a number on the board.

- 2:55all our shows is go to our website at
- 2:57www.worldwidesportsradio.com And I I stopped for a second because
- 3:04there is a lot to get into tonight.
- 3:07A lot of craziness in sports. Some of them I, I just wonder if
- 3:12these organizations actually know what they're doing and I, I
- 3:17will mention them as we move forward in the topics tonight.
- 3:20But nevertheless, I had an opportunity to go to Montreal,
- 3:24Canada and I, I drove about 7 1/2 hours to get there and 7 1/2
- 3:30hours to get home. It was craziness.
- 3:33And I will say this do not rent a Subaru four Wheeler because as
- 3:39much as it's so nice inside on the I guess the seats are just
- 3:43so damn bad. I hurt my ass.
- 3:46I had sciatica. It was horrible the whole drive
- 3:49home I was trying to like lean towards one like 1 cheek.
- 3:54And what I mean by cheek is my right cheek because my left
- 3:57cheek was absolutely in pain. I couldn't put pressure on it
- 4:00because it was shooting down my leg.
- 4:02Subaru cars are not the way to go Ladies and gentlemen, stay
- 4:06away from the Subaru cars. But I, I got a chance to go out
- 4:11there. I want to give a shout out to
- 4:12Brittany. She, you know, pretty much took
- 4:15care of the whole practically adventure over there to Montreal
- 4:18and we rented a car. It was fun.
- 4:21I guess at some points it was fun, but we got a chance to stay
- 4:24at the, I guess the Bonaventure. It it was a nice hotel.
- 4:28It was, it was really cool to go over there because I they have a
- 4:31heated pool. It was like foaming it, it it
- 4:35wasn't foaming. It was heated.
- 4:36It was like that. It was so cold outside.
- 4:39It was like 9° when we got there that the heat was just rising.
- 4:43It looked like. We were like the whole, the pool
- 4:46was a heating frenzy and they had a hot tub and it was, it was
- 4:52fun. It was definitely interesting.
- 4:54The only place you can go is the 10th floor, so you're like 10
- 4:57floors above everything in the city.
- 5:00It was, it was nice. It was a really nice hotel.
- 5:02We got a chance to sightsee on the final day, but it was
- 5:06snowing. It was garbage and and I got a
- 5:09can't. I got a chance to go to the
- 5:10underground mall. We went there multiple times
- 5:13because speed. It's speedy.
- 5:15Brittany loves the shop. She loves to go and buy those
- 5:18Canadian socks in those Canadian different, you know, peril.
- 5:23So she enjoyed it. I did buy a new pair of
- 5:26sneakers, ladies and gentlemen, as I always do.
- 5:27I bought a new pair of Clouds, I got a couple of new headbands
- 5:31and then off I went. But it was a cool four days.
- 5:35Jabba reached out to me, which I appreciate your job.
- 5:38Everybody reached out to me. Nithin couldn't stop bothering
- 5:41me. But I love Nithin.
- 5:44And by the way, Nithin is in the back end.
- 5:47Shout out to the old myth, our PR manager, NNIL, yes, he's the
- 5:52NIL vice president of his company.
- 5:55So he's doing some big things. We're working on some big
- 5:59stories and all that other stuff.
- 6:00The Broncos beat the Bills 33 to 30 in overtime to advance to
- 6:06their first AFC championship game since 2015.
- 6:10The Broncos defense forced 5 turnovers in this game,
- 6:13including a controversial interception in over time on a
- 6:18play that looked like it was a catch.
- 6:20Bribe Cooks. The Seahawks blew out the 49ers
- 6:2341 to 6 to advance to their first NFC Championship game
- 6:27since 2014. Rashid Shahid had a kickoff
- 6:31return touchdown on the first play of the game and the
- 6:35Seahawks ran away with it. After that, the Patriots beat
- 6:38the Texans 28 to 16 in a sloppy turnover.
- 6:42Filed game or field game. I guess I'm going to file it.
- 6:46CJ Stroud had but four interceptions and the Texans
- 6:49offensive line allowed five sacks in this game.
- 6:52The Rams won in overtime 20 to 17 to beat the Bears, the only
- 6:57Rd. team to win in the NFL Divisional round.
- 7:00Caleb Williams had an unbelievable throw to Cole
- 7:03Commit to tie the game with 18 seconds left in regulations.
- 7:09But to tie the game in 18 seconds left a little damper
- 7:16because when it went to overtime, yes, ladies and
- 7:19gentlemen, he threw an interception in overtime which
- 7:22led to a Rams game-winning field goal kick.
- 7:28So let's get into the Broncos game and Sean McDermott is no
- 7:33longer the head coach of the Buffalo Bills.
- 7:36And I don't know if we're going to blame Sean McDermott for this
- 7:39loss. He did speak up after the game.
- 7:41He said his piece. He he stuck up for his team.
- 7:44He stuck up for his organization.
- 7:46That shows a lot about who Sean McDermott is.
- 7:49He said a lot of graceful, graceful things about Josh
- 7:53Allen. Josh Allen went up there after
- 7:54the game, cried. It showed he put his heart out
- 7:57there. We love that about Josh Allen.
- 7:59He's one of very few guys that will go out there and cry in
- 8:02front of the media and give his personality and show his
- 8:05personality to the world. That's something special about
- 8:08this kid and why I think Josh Allen is an elite and one of the
- 8:12elite quarterbacks in this league and has been one of the
- 8:14elite quarterbacks in this league for over 10 years.
- 8:17But here's the facts and this is the facts.
- 8:21This game went back and forth. Was it sloppy?
- 8:25There was some sloppiness in the game.
- 8:27There's no question when you have 5 fourths turnovers,
- 8:30there's definitely a sloppy. It was definitely a sloppy game
- 8:33and Josh Allen didn't have one of his unbelievable games.
- 8:36But Josh put his team on his shoulders.
- 8:38He made every single play he needed to to get this game into
- 8:42overtime, and he came up short. And the Bills come up short
- 8:47every single time, over and over and over again.
- 8:50Against Kansas City, over the years, against Baltimore,
- 8:53against the Bengals. It seems like Josh Allen can
- 8:56never get over the hump. And this year, he had his
- 8:59chance. Bo Nicks is a rookie
- 9:01quarterback. He's not a rookie.
- 9:02He's too. He's been in the league for a
- 9:03couple of years. But to me, this guy is a rookie.
- 9:06He doesn't know what to do in the playoffs.
- 9:09And, and again, going into this game, I didn't expect Bo Nicks
- 9:13to have a great game, But he showed up in certain parts of
- 9:16the game. He made certain throws that was
- 9:18fun to watch. And I could say this about Bo
- 9:20Nicks, if he was still in the playoffs, if he didn't break his
- 9:24ankle as he did and it was announced by Sean Payton at the
- 9:28end of the game, maybe the Broncos go to a Super Bowl.
- 9:30And maybe Bo Nicks and the Broncos win a Super Bowl.
- 9:34But I don't know if they're going to.
- 9:36Because to me, when you look at this game, there's a lot of
- 9:40questions about this Broncos team.
- 9:41First, this. This is an elite defense.
- 9:45This is one of the best defenses in the league.
- 9:47One of the best secondaries in the league.
- 9:48Yes, they forced 5 turnovers, but made a lot of mistakes in
- 9:51this game against a Buffalo Bills team that didn't have a
- 9:54number one wide receiver. Not one number one wide
- 9:59receiver. If you think Shakur is one of
- 10:03those guys, you're out of your damn mind.
- 10:06They don't have a #1 Coleman played at certain parts of this
- 10:09game. They have not had.
- 10:10They lost Gabe Davis. They have not had a number one
- 10:13wide receiver since somebody that's playing for the Patriots
- 10:16and you know, I'm speaking about.
- 10:18All your favorites. Stefan Diggs, they haven't had
- 10:21one of those guys. And these are the facts here.
- 10:25The Broncos to me are not an elite offense.
- 10:29They're not. They don't have I they have a
- 10:32great wide receiver. They don't have any elite wide
- 10:34receiver, they don't have elite offensive style of players.
- 10:39Now, obviously we'll get into the Patriots and we will get
- 10:42into the Broncos as we move into Thursday.
- 10:44But the fact here is I worry about this particular team in
- 10:49the Broncos because if they could stop Harvey, if teams can
- 10:53stop Harvey, what do they have offensively?
- 10:58They're they've been known to run the ball.
- 11:00You know, Sean Payton is that old time type of football.
- 11:02He likes to run the ball first throw second.
- 11:05This is not Drew Brees. Bo Nicks is not Drew Brees over
- 11:08the years. Now they got a guy named Stidham
- 11:11who's going to be the quarterback in in the AFC title
- 11:16game. There's a lot of questions to
- 11:18where the Broncos are going to go and move on.
- 11:20What I do know about this particular game is Josh Allen
- 11:24was the best quarterback still in the playoffs besides Matthew
- 11:28Stafford. As far as I'm concerned.
- 11:30When you look at CJ Strout, a young guy, I would say rookie in
- 11:34the playoffs, a guy that doesn't have a lot of experience.
- 11:36Bonics don't have a lot of experience in the playoffs.
- 11:39Caleb Williams don't have a lot of experience in the playoffs.
- 11:41Drake May doesn't have a lot of experience in the playoffs and
- 11:45you you look at all these guys and how about Sam Donald doesn't
- 11:48have a lot of experience in this the playoffs.
- 11:51Brock Birdie has experience and just absolutely blew it and
- 11:54we'll get into it in in just a few moments.
- 11:57The fact here is when I look at the Broncos, it was fun to
- 12:01watch. The Broncos got lucky.
- 12:03It was a missed call by the referees.
- 12:06I've always said that the game is rigged.
- 12:08I believe the NFL is trying to give the Patriots the easiest
- 12:12way, the easiest path to the Super Bowl.
- 12:16I'll. I don't care what anybody says.
- 12:17I've always believed A controversy.
- 12:20Yeah, I think it's controversy. You want to say I'm
- 12:24controversial? I'm as controversial as they
- 12:27get. The fact here is the fact that
- 12:30you hear that Bonex goes down and he's out for the playoffs.
- 12:33And I'm not saying the league wanted or knows that Bonex was
- 12:36going to go down. I'm not saying that.
- 12:38But this, this game should have been over.
- 12:41Brady Cooks caught that ball. He was down.
- 12:44His knee hit the ground. It was ripped out of his hands,
- 12:48ripped out of his hands when he was down, but nevertheless the
- 12:53referees missed it and didn't want to call a time out, didn't
- 12:55want to review it, didn't want to do anything.
- 12:56Sean McDermott was absolutely right.
- 12:59But guess what? There's no crying in football.
- 13:02As we all know in sports. We've heard it actually in
- 13:06baseball, we we all know when somebody had said in a league of
- 13:09their own and Tom Hanks said it, there's no crying in baseball.
- 13:13This is a manly sport. There's no crying in football,
- 13:17except if you're Josh Allen, and I got to give him credit for
- 13:20that. Showed his, showed his
- 13:22personality, showed who he is as a person.
- 13:24I I'm just telling you right now, going into this game,
- 13:28looking at this game and look at the true hope.
- 13:31If you're a Broncos fan, I know Joppa, your son is a Broncos fan
- 13:34and we're going to go from game to game and I'm going to ask you
- 13:36all your opinions. But the fact here is the Broncos
- 13:40to me is not made to win a Super Bowl without Bo Nicks.
- 13:45And I don't even know if with Bo Nicks, Bo Nicks, they would go
- 13:49to the Super Bowl knowing that the Patriots are as bad as they
- 13:54they have been with Drake May in the play offs and Drake May has
- 13:57not looked good in the play offs.
- 13:58I don't care what anybody says, he has not looked good.
- 14:00I don't want to hear what the announcers say.
- 14:02I don't want to hear what the analysts say.
- 14:04He has not looked good. When he goes against great
- 14:06talent, he's had problems. Great against great talent.
- 14:10I don't know if I trust this team as a whole when it comes
- 14:14down to winning the big game Speedy.
- 14:16Yeah, I've always been under the belief that the NFC had the top
- 14:20four teams probably going into the playoffs.
- 14:22If obviously if Michael Parson was healthy for the Packers, I
- 14:24thought that was the angle it was on.
- 14:26Obviously, now that he's not, it was probably the Bills were my
- 14:29AFC pick as well in the Super Bowl.
- 14:30I thought it made a lot of sense.
- 14:32They had the number one pass defense in the league and Denver
- 14:34I didn't think could run the ball enough consistently in this
- 14:37game. But the Broncos and the Bills
- 14:39and This is why I probably will get to McDermott getting fired
- 14:41later. But I think the biggest reason
- 14:43why McDermott eventually they had to wear out on him.
- 14:46The Bills defense has been historically bad in the
- 14:48playoffs. And I think a lot of that had to
- 14:49do with facing top offense, obviously.
- 14:52But still you've seen good defenses still be able to win.
- 14:56And the Broncos, they're you're right, they're not a lethal
- 14:58passing attack. They shut down Cortland Sutton.
- 15:00He had two catches in the whole game.
- 15:01And they let Marvin Mims do a bunch of great things.
- 15:04They let the these tight ends get it going in the later in the
- 15:08game. And I think for that reason, you
- 15:11can't blame Josh Allen. But at the same time, Josh Allen
- 15:14did have those turnovers at lateral play made absolutely no
- 15:16sense. Like I don't know where he was
- 15:18seeing something there. I know we've seen teams a lot
- 15:20more do these hook and ladder type plays.
- 15:22But again, it's one of those things that you have to a team
- 15:26blamed if they think. And that's why I don't think the
- 15:29Broncos are great either. The NFC has the best teams left.
- 15:31We'll get to the other games in a bit, but they're the quality
- 15:34of the Seahawks and the Rams are that much more significant than
- 15:36the quality of the Broncos. The Bills are the only shot to
- 15:38do it. And again, they throw it away.
- 15:40They just keep beating themselves in any way.
- 15:41Now, again, you mentioned the referee you call.
- 15:43Was it a catch? Was it not?
- 15:45I don't think you could do that justification like you did last
- 15:47year with the Chiefs. Last year it was obviously a
- 15:49first down, like they should have gotten that first down call
- 15:51on the QB sneak. The pass interference I thought
- 15:53was the right call. The non pass interference I
- 15:55thought was the right call on the Broncos.
- 15:58And I just don't know if there was enough to overturn it on a
- 16:00catch. What I have called it a catch
- 16:01probably, but I don't know if there was enough to overturn it.
- 16:03And that's why I can't blame them here for this instance to
- 16:06say that kind of thing. Was there conspiracy with the
- 16:09Patriots and the Broncos wanting them in the AFC championship
- 16:12game Again, who knows, but who knows.
- 16:14Would it be funny if Jared Siddam gets his revenge on the
- 16:16on the on the Patriots after Jeff, who loved Jarrett, said
- 16:19him at the time when he got drafted in 2019 was raving?
- 16:22Oh, the Patriots got their QB of the future.
- 16:24Wouldn't have been funny to see them knocked out.
- 16:25But yeah, it's tough to tell with this Broncos team if they
- 16:27could actually do it. Yeah, I was wondering too, like
- 16:31I wanted to get your guys's perspective of this.
- 16:33Like you, you've seen a lot more.
- 16:37I guess the best word to use is trickery.
- 16:39Like are like, is that the right time?
- 16:42Where like sweetie, like you said, like what did he see like
- 16:44to do those things? Like do you think this is the
- 16:47right time to to use those type of plays and bring it out of the
- 16:50playbook? I just I don't think this.
- 16:52I don't even think that was a design play.
- 16:53I just think it was just Josh Allen thinking he had a lateral
- 16:56and it just backfired on him and badly at the wrong spot in the
- 17:00game. It's one thing if you're trying
- 17:01in the third quarter or something, you're at the end of
- 17:03the half and you're giving him a gift field goal essentially.
- 17:07Yeah, I, it's, I think there was, there was a tale of a lot
- 17:11of stuff that was going on. And I think defensively,
- 17:15offensively there, there were a couple, I guess either, I don't
- 17:21know if it was miscommunication from from one side or the other,
- 17:24but it just it felt like something was a little off on
- 17:27certain guys. And I don't know if the moment
- 17:30got too big or they couldn't slow the game down or they just
- 17:34weren't able to read what was going on as far as, you know,
- 17:38plays and check offs and all the other stuff.
- 17:40And it was, it was interesting because like when you guys say
- 17:46like, did they want them in in this situation and is it rigged?
- 17:52I hate to admit when Errol's right or he's almost right, but
- 17:56I think he's on to something where it, I wouldn't say it's
- 18:01scripted, but it's put into place.
- 18:07And I know everybody's going to attack me when I come out with
- 18:09these these crazy theories. And it is a theory.
- 18:12But guess what? I've been saying it for 10 years
- 18:14and now you have ex NFL players going out on podcast and saying
- 18:18the same thing that I'm saying. And I've been saying it.
- 18:20I've been attacked by fans all over the world.
- 18:23Speedy How many people have attacked?
- 18:24Me for oh believe me, my first year I was with the network.
- 18:27Remember your whole Tom Brady's cast is fake and Jeff ripped
- 18:31you. For everybody ripped me for it.
- 18:33Everybody ripped me for all these particular theories that I
- 18:37have, but guess what? As much as their theories, their
- 18:40theories that have somewhat grown over the years and now
- 18:44everybody is saying it. Now you have Stephen A Smith
- 18:47bringing it up. Hey, maybe this is true.
- 18:49Maybe it is rigged or there's other guys, other analysts.
- 18:52Pat McAfee has said it on his show quite a few times that he
- 18:55thinks that there's some things about the NFL that's kind of
- 18:58become more scripted, maybe because of betting, sports
- 19:01betting, I don't know. But here's my theory to the
- 19:04situation. When you think about the way the
- 19:07referees make calls in certain football games, you wonder if
- 19:11there is somebody speaking to them upstairs telling them
- 19:15something during the game. Or if something happens during
- 19:18the game on maybe calling it not a catch or hits the ground or
- 19:24something of that magnitude. And I, and I believe in this
- 19:27particular moment, I think Sean McDermott was absolutely right.
- 19:32This was a catch. Do you think in the headset?
- 19:34Because they obviously never let us hear the headset?
- 19:36Yes. You think there's things being?
- 19:38Said 100%. That's why we don't get to hear
- 19:41that. 100% I, I think the NFL, obviously with the referees,
- 19:45you're not going to hear what the referees are saying.
- 19:47And you know, I don't know if anybody knows.
- 19:48Whenever there's a penalty called or some kind of call,
- 19:51usually the referees go and talk to the coaches right after that
- 19:54play. What are the referees try to do?
- 19:56They tried to speed up the play, right?
- 19:57They tried to move the play along as quick as they can so
- 20:01there was no stoppage of play and they can move on to the
- 20:03game. So they don't call a time out or
- 20:06something is not called. And and to me, Shawn.
- 20:10Derman was absolutely right. I think he had.
- 20:12He had a reason to argue about that.
- 20:14I think he's upset about it. He lost his job, possibly
- 20:17because of that one play. Think about it, if Buffalo moves
- 20:21on, I think the only way McDermott wins his or keeps his
- 20:24job is if they make it to the Super Bowl.
- 20:26That's the only way he keeps his job.
- 20:28I just think that this is their best chance.
- 20:31When you don't have Pat Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs or Joe
- 20:34Burrow or Lamar Jackson dealing with three of those guys that
- 20:37are tremendous talented quarterbacks who you can argue
- 20:40those are the four, the four most talented quarterbacks in
- 20:43the league and the elite quarterbacks of the elite
- 20:45besides Matthew Stafford. You you would say that these
- 20:48guys are the faces of the NFL and they're not in the playoffs
- 20:51for the first time in their careers all together.
- 20:54It tells you this is your easiest ride to the finals.
- 20:57This is your easiest ride to your Super Bowl.
- 21:00And they failed. They failed against to me, I
- 21:03know it was in Denver, a team that they're better than I, I
- 21:06don't care what anybody says. And, and maybe the records don't
- 21:09show that because Denver had the best record in the EFC.
- 21:11Denver was very lucky on a lot of these games.
- 21:14All season long. Everything fell their way and
- 21:17this game did not fall their way.
- 21:19As a matter of fact, they can. To me, Buffalo can run the ball
- 21:23and they did pretty well. Stop in the run 2 in this game,
- 21:25they did very well to me. I thought this was going to be
- 21:30just a complete dominant of running and and potential
- 21:34running against the the Buffalo Bills because the Buffalo Bills
- 21:37have been so bad at stopping the run this year.
- 21:39But guess what? It wasn't it was very close.
- 21:42It was back and forth and again, Josh Allen just couldn't do
- 21:46enough to win that game. Speaking of not doing enough the
- 21:5149ers, what an embarrassment. I will say this and I'll say
- 21:58this because our friend Owen is probably listening right now.
- 22:01Owen reached out to me after the 49ers moved on to play Seattle.
- 22:06He says, are you going to ever give Kyle Shanahan his props?
- 22:09And I said, no, I'm not. And he says why not?
- 22:12He's look what he's doing with all these injuries, OK?
- 22:16I said we'll wait and see what he does in Seattle and what did
- 22:19he do in Seattle? It looked like Kyle Shanahan
- 22:22didn't have the troops moving because Seattle was dancing
- 22:25around and prancing around after winning, after winning the the
- 22:30conference, winning the NFC. They were dancing and it was on
- 22:34their board. Everybody was like Christian
- 22:35McCaffrey was all about Kyle Shanahan and Ed McCaffrey and
- 22:39Michael Shanahan. They were talking about the
- 22:41connection and how great it is and what did what happened in
- 22:45this game. Well, let's look at the score.
- 22:47Let's look at the score and, and the score will tell you
- 22:49everything. Let's look at it.
- 22:51It was 41 to 6. Now, when you look at a score
- 22:57like this, you would think, I don't know, Browns, Arizona, New
- 23:03York Jets, I mean, you name it. That's that's the kind of score
- 23:07you would expect from teams like this, not the San Francisco
- 23:1149ers. And I don't want to hear about
- 23:13George Kittle or any of these Nick Bosar or any of these guys
- 23:19order I I don't want to hear. I don't want to hear about any
- 23:23of these guys being out. You play who's ever in front of
- 23:26you and you and your team, Owen, Kyle, Shanahan and yes, Bambi
- 23:33Sala, who is now the head coach of the Titans and I'll get into
- 23:36that a little bit later. He didn't show up.
- 23:39Sala did not show up to this game or he didn't have his
- 23:41troops show up to this game because they were nowhere to be
- 23:44found. And Brock Purdy, who's looked
- 23:46good all season, when he's come back, has looked in this game.
- 23:50I don't even think he believed that he was playing in the game.
- 23:53I think he was playing in an arcade.
- 23:55Think about it. 15 for 27140 yards, one interception, no
- 24:00throne touchdowns, none. Brock Purdy.
- 24:03That's unheard of since he's come back.
- 24:06Brock Purdy has been the most efficient quarterback in the NFL
- 24:10since he's been back. You think about it.
- 24:12I don't want to hear you still have Christian McCaffrey.
- 24:15Christian McCaffrey rushed for 35 yards, 35, and he caught for
- 24:2039. Tell me the last time that on
- 24:23all-purpose yards that Christian McCaffrey didn't have over 100
- 24:27yards. I can't even remember.
- 24:29And that goes for Mike McDonald. And you know what I'm talking
- 24:34about speedy Mr. McDonald, who has been the best coach in the
- 24:38NFL all season long, who I believe is coach of the year.
- 24:41He has been sensational. He deserves a little bit more
- 24:44credit than anybody gives him because guess what?
- 24:48Since he's left the Baltimore Ravens, where is Baltimore's
- 24:52defense been ranked? Horrible.
- 24:54He's left and Sanford and you think what Seattle's done since
- 24:58he's gone there, I don't know. He takes Sam Donald now.
- 25:01Sam Donald, do you have an out like outspoken game that he
- 25:06spoke volumes of what he is in the playoffs.
- 25:08He was 12 for 17124 yards. That is not great, but he didn't
- 25:14need to be great because guess what?
- 25:15He had Kenneth friggin Walker who had 19 rushing yards, 116
- 25:23yards and three touchdowns absolutely exploding off the
- 25:27paper, who has been a beast since he's been drafted.
- 25:30I remember when he was drafted in the second round.
- 25:33They have had a tandem of players all season long show up.
- 25:38We all, hey everybody keeps making fun of Cooper Cup. 5
- 25:41receptions for 60 yards is pretty damn good.
- 25:44How about Jackson Smith Najigba who didn't have one of his best
- 25:48games? He didn't need to three for 19.
- 25:52That's what he had. He had a touchdown. 3 receptions
- 25:55for 19 yards. When was the last time you know
- 25:57Jackson Najigba had only 19 yards in a game?
- 26:02Here's what I'm going to say what happened in this game and
- 26:05it's pretty simple. The 49ers and Kyle Shanahan had
- 26:08his head up his ass. That's what happened.
- 26:10And, and, and Robert, AKA Bambi Sala was probably thinking he
- 26:14was in a Disney movie because he was definitely not playing in
- 26:17this game. Because if he was, he would
- 26:19actually knew how to call the right place.
- 26:22Because to me it was run, run and more run.
- 26:26And they couldn't stop the run, which I got news for you.
- 26:30I I don't know how that's gonna work in Titanville, because to
- 26:33me, this was an embarrassment, an absolute embarrassment.
- 26:38And to me, it's a firing offense.
- 26:41Kyle Shanahan losing 41 to 6 as a National Football game,
- 26:47divisional game against the Seattle Seahawks team.
- 26:50Yes, they were home. Yes, they're the best team in
- 26:52the NFC. They had many chances.
- 26:54They played them twice this year and we're in both those games.
- 26:59And then go into a game in the playoffs and lay up a lousy
- 27:02goose egg. To me, it is a firing offense.
- 27:06So yes, Owen, I'm not going to compliment, compliment Kyle
- 27:09Shanahan. Because here's the facts.
- 27:11Kyle Shanahan, as we all know, can't coach the big game, can't
- 27:15call the big plays, and the guy is a failure to launch.
- 27:19Remember that I've been naming movies.
- 27:21Remember that speedy failure to launch Matthew McConaughey
- 27:25because he wasn't launching anything but a stick up his ass?
- 27:28Yeah. And again, that game looked like
- 27:30it was being coached by Robert Salo when he was a head coach.
- 27:33Like, that's how bad it is. It was for the 49ers.
- 27:34I always thought they were kind of fraudulent anyway.
- 27:36Like they did well with surviving the injuries
- 27:39throughout the regular season, fine.
- 27:40But again, the NFC West, there's a reason there's three teams
- 27:43there. They had one of the easier
- 27:44schedules coming into the league.
- 27:45And we talked about all time the 49ers had the preseason, the
- 27:48easiest schedule coming into the league.
- 27:49Obviously, the Patriots now surpassed that, but
- 27:51nevertheless, they were a team that was battling through and
- 27:54winning in ways that were very ugly.
- 27:56Their point differential wasn't great throughout the year and
- 27:58now you're certainly seeing them because of really high quality,
- 28:01well-rounded Seahawks team. Just how good they are.
- 28:03The Seahawks do it on all three levels.
- 28:06The Seahawks have always prided themselves on special teams.
- 28:08What do they do? They get a kick, return,
- 28:09touchdown, the first play of the game.
- 28:11And 49ers who fired their defensive or special teams
- 28:15coaching staff for a while and had a special teams coach to
- 28:17their previous defensive coordinator before the great
- 28:19Bambi Sala. We're not ready for that kind of
- 28:22thing. And Brock Purdy, I was worried
- 28:23about it being being ready for the interior pressure that
- 28:26Seattle brings. They have three good defensive
- 28:27tackles and boy, did they get out matched in this game.
- 28:30Brock Purdy had no time to throw the ball and they have no
- 28:32receivers that can create separation because they decided,
- 28:35all right, let's make our best receiver, our best route runner.
- 28:38And Brandon Iuke frustrated when he came back from injury.
- 28:41So he never wanted to come back at all in week 12 or week 13
- 28:44when he was ready. And all right, let's just go in
- 28:47with what we got. No Ricky Pearsall because he's
- 28:48hurt too. All right, let's see where we're
- 28:50going to to go with. We're going to go with DeMarcus
- 28:52Robinson. You mentioned last week, Jawan
- 28:54Jennings, who's fine but can't separate.
- 28:56Yeah, that's the guy we're going to go up against, against Devin
- 28:59Witherspoon. And I'm in Wari and Kobe
- 29:01Bryant's and all these other guys that are really good in the
- 29:03secondary and a pass rushes. That's good.
- 29:05Then we go to the great Bambi Sal on his defense, a defense
- 29:08that has struggled to rush the pastor since they lost.
- 29:10Nick Bosa can't get pressure on Sam Darnold and Sam Donald, like
- 29:14you said, didn't have to throw the ball much.
- 29:15And that's another scary level that Seattle has to bring
- 29:18because they can run the ball effectively in this game with a
- 29:2017 nothing lead. And we talked about it
- 29:22throughout the year. They're they're rushing volume
- 29:24is actually still really high as good as an Ajig.
- 29:26But season was that they could just play that kind of game
- 29:29against a bad run defense in the 49ers.
- 29:31A rookie essentially defensive line with all these linebackers
- 29:34that are hurt and all these other guys hurt and they just
- 29:36play a complete ball control defensive coach type of game
- 29:40with a little mixer of Seahawks flashing and special teams in
- 29:42there in the 49ers. And Bambi Sala.
- 29:45And Kyle Shannon were not ready. That's what kind of what I said
- 29:48earlier. It just, it felt like something
- 29:51was off and you've seen that team answer the bell all year
- 29:56with the injuries and CMC obviously being healthy and
- 30:01doing that. And like they, they alienated, I
- 30:05feel like from what they've done all year.
- 30:08Obviously the Seahawks change a little bit of that and in the
- 30:11way they defend and what they can do.
- 30:14But it just felt like as a, as a coach and, and you know, as a
- 30:18scheme, you make those adjustments and they didn't make
- 30:21any adjustments. That game was tough to watch.
- 30:23And I you felt it from the kick off when they ran a bag of
- 30:27scored and I'm like, Oh, I don't think this is going to end well,
- 30:30but I didn't think it was going to end like.
- 30:31That Java just just ask your ask your son's team how that works
- 30:34for them when they played in the Super Bowl. 100% and you know,
- 30:39he's, he literally called me as soon as it was over.
- 30:42And then, you know, 15 minutes later he's texted me and he's
- 30:45like, damn it. And I'm like, well, yeah, it's,
- 30:47it's going to be a little bit different now.
- 30:50And I'd ask him. I go, who the hell is your
- 30:52backup at this point? Like I had, I had no idea.
- 30:55Like, and he was like, you don't want to know.
- 30:58And I'm like, do I know him? And he goes, no.
- 31:00And then he I was like, I have no idea who the hell that is.
- 31:03But the Niners for, for what they've got through season with
- 31:09all the injuries and then to lay an egg like that, it just it
- 31:13kind of boggled my mind that they didn't make any
- 31:15adjustments. They've obviously done it
- 31:17throughout the year and they just, they didn't, they look
- 31:21flat. There was no adjustments.
- 31:23And when we talk about coaching as as we've done and how
- 31:26important that is, when you see how the game is progressing and
- 31:31you don't make the adjustments and you don't change up a play
- 31:35call, you don't change up your scheme, you don't change
- 31:37anything. And you score 6 points and CMC
- 31:39has less than 75 all-purpose yards.
- 31:42I'd have to look it up. I don't know that answer, but I
- 31:45don't know the last time that he's had less than that.
- 31:47Tampa did it once, I think when he was with Carolina.
- 31:50Like, I remember I think he had like 10 yards in the game, Yeah.
- 31:54This guy is one of the best pass catching running backs in NFL
- 31:59history. If you look at his numbers,
- 32:00they're ridiculous. And to see what CMC couldn't do
- 32:04in this game. And it says a lot about McDonald
- 32:07in the way he calls his plays in.
- 32:08And you have to give some of the defensive players a lot of
- 32:11credit because they were sensational.
- 32:13They did everything they needed to do to keep their team in the
- 32:15game. And, and again, I that goes a
- 32:18lot for Williams and a lot of people, including Jet fans were
- 32:21wondering what happened to Williams when he was here with
- 32:24the New York Jets. He was drafted by the New York
- 32:26Jets. He was a first round talent.
- 32:28This guy was an elite player coming from USC.
- 32:31Remember that Speedy. And then he goes to the Giants.
- 32:33The Giants sign him and he played pretty well with the
- 32:36Giants. The Giants overpaid him and the
- 32:38Giants let him go. The Giants let him go.
- 32:40As a matter of fact, the Giants traded him and he goes over
- 32:43there to Seattle and McDonald goes over there and develops him
- 32:46even more. This guy has gone through layers
- 32:48in his career and now he's becoming elite pass rusher, an
- 32:52elite defensive player, elite defensive lineman.
- 32:55Going from The Jets to the Giants and now going to a team
- 32:59that is giving him an opportunity to become an elite
- 33:01player says a lot about the team.
- 33:03Their secondary is sensational, speedy, absolutely sensational.
- 33:07What Seattle does and what the way they put pressure up and,
- 33:09and, and they make you, they force you to throw the ball into
- 33:12places feel so very uncomfortable doing.
- 33:14Kyle Shanahan had no answer, no answer to Seattle's defense,
- 33:20none whatsoever. By the I believe by the second
- 33:23quarter, I think Kyle Shanahan was waving the red flag.
- 33:26I, I really do believe he knew that there was no way in hell
- 33:29they were coming back in this game.
- 33:31And that says a lot about who McDonald is and the way he
- 33:34coaches. The way the place think about
- 33:36it, before this game, everybody was talking about the board
- 33:39being, whoa, let's watch. Let's go see these guys
- 33:43celebrate what they did, winning the conference and dancing and
- 33:46prancing around and drinking wine like they won a Super Bowl.
- 33:48They were going to a Super Bowl. And and that was something that
- 33:52IA lot of people believe they were going to mimic and and and
- 33:55try to attack going into the game.
- 33:57San Francisco. Well, ladies and gentlemen,
- 34:00before the game started and after the game, the only team
- 34:02that's dancing and prancing around is the same team that was
- 34:05doing it before the season end ended.
- 34:08It was Seattle. They absolutely embarrassed the
- 34:12San Francisco 49ers with George Kittle.
- 34:15Not with George Kittle. You could put Nick Bosa there,
- 34:19Warner, it doesn't matter who was there.
- 34:21I don't think they stood a chance against the Seattle
- 34:25Seahawks team. They had a game plan.
- 34:26They out outsmarted Robert Salar and outplay called Kyle
- 34:31Shanahan. That is the facts, Jack and
- 34:34that's all I'm going to say about that.
- 34:35There is nothing else to say about about this game but utter
- 34:39embarrassment by San Francisco putting up and laying up a lousy
- 34:44goose egg. Be in that.
- 34:45Guess where the Super Bowl is going to be this year, Speedy?
- 34:48Oh yeah. San Francisco?
- 34:49Remember the last time it was in San Francisco?
- 34:51Who was playing in it? Oh, it was.
- 34:54It was the Broncos, I believe. No, it wasn't.
- 34:57Was it the IT was the Broncos and the Panthers, I'm pretty
- 34:59sure. No, it wasn't the last time they
- 35:01played in San Francisco. Speedy was the San Francisco
- 35:0649ers and the Baltimore Ravens. Remember when the lights went
- 35:10out? That was New Orleans.
- 35:11You sure that was new? That was in New Orleans, I
- 35:12remember because I had the conspiracy theory.
- 35:14Wait a second, you sure about that?
- 35:15Yes, because I remember I was, I was in high schools my senior
- 35:18year of high school. I remember I had the conspiracy
- 35:20theory of, oh, this is Sean Payton's revenge on the Saints
- 35:22organization. Oh OK, so maybe I was wrong
- 35:24about that it. Was the Broncos of the Panthers?
- 35:27It was the first year. The fact here is with with Kyle
- 35:29Shanahan in the position that Kyle Shanahan is going to be in
- 35:32the offseason is is put up or shut up now It's put up or shut
- 35:37up time for Kyle Shanahan in that San Francisco 49ers team.
- 35:41Because I we're not going to get into Robert Seller big thing
- 35:44because we're going to talk about a little bit later, but
- 35:46this is a team that's going into an offseason once again failing.
- 35:51And Kyle Shanahan, all he knows is fail, failure because this
- 35:55guy is not won a Super Bowl. Every time he's gone to the
- 35:57Super Bowl, he's failed as an offensive coordinator, as a head
- 36:00coach. He is an absolute failure.
- 36:02And then going into a divisional game where everybody thought
- 36:04that this was going to be somewhat of a game, somewhat of
- 36:07a challenge because of the way Brock Purdy was playing in the
- 36:09play call. And Kyle Shanahan, what he did
- 36:11was a masterful thing last week and just lay up at a lousy goose
- 36:15egg says to me one thing and one thing only.
- 36:18I don't want to see ESPN. I don't want to see Cbsi don't
- 36:20want to see anybody Bleacher Report or anybody interview Ed.
- 36:24And I'm saying this Ed McCaffrey and I'm saying this from the
- 36:27heart or Mike Shanahan. Like they want something like,
- 36:30Oh my God, they they have a chance to do something great.
- 36:33I remember when, and I'll say this, Kyle, it wasn't Kyle
- 36:38Shanahan. It was it was I'm trying
- 36:44Christian Mccaffrey's mom sitting there and she when they
- 36:47mentioned the Super Bowl that they lost against Kansas City,
- 36:50she got up and she she rolled her eyes like they should have
- 36:54won the game should have could have, would have.
- 36:55Here's the reason why you lost that game because she stopped
- 36:58running the ball to who your son that was obviously didn't get
- 37:02the rock enough in the fourth quarter, which if they got the
- 37:05rock enough in that in the in the fourth quarter, maybe they
- 37:08beat the Kansas City Chiefs. Maybe they shocked the world and
- 37:11knock off the great Patrick Mahomes in D Reed, but they
- 37:15didn't. You know why?
- 37:15Because they're an absolute joke.
- 37:17All right, before we transition to the next game, we have a we
- 37:19have a caller. Our 49ers fan of our network,
- 37:22Mr. Brian Snow, is on the phone. Brian, let's hear you.
- 37:26Arrow, I'm going to playfully yell at you.
- 37:29I can't. Wait.
- 37:31I can't wait. No, I'm kidding.
- 37:34I'm kidding. I'm kidding.
- 37:36What you guys said are absolute facts and I got, I got no
- 37:41argument. I sat and called that game
- 37:43Saturday night and I was embarrassed.
- 37:47I've been a 49er fan since 1980 and I've seen my share of
- 37:52clunkers even under the quote UN quote great Jet York's
- 37:55leadership. But what happened Saturday night
- 37:58put an end to that era as far as I'm concerned.
- 38:02It may be time for Kyle Shanahan and company to just push the
- 38:07puncher and blow it up and start a game because you got 4, maybe
- 38:13five players, two of them on injured reserve in terms of Nick
- 38:17Bosa and Fred Warner. And you can build.
- 38:22You can build with them, but it's just going to take a few
- 38:24years to do so. But you got to bring in some
- 38:27fresh minds, some good minds to rebuild, to rebuild that.
- 38:33And as far as the two Super Bowls that they played in with,
- 38:37with Kyle Shanahan, both of those should have been wins.
- 38:40First of all, Raheem Mostert should have run for 200 yards in
- 38:45that game. And a hundred of those should
- 38:47have come in the fourth quarter because they had the Chiefs on
- 38:51the ropes and they didn't knock them out.
- 38:54They had they had the Chiefs on the rolls twice, once in Vegas
- 38:58and once in Miami, both Super Bowls 54 and 58 and they didn't
- 39:05deliver the knockout punch. I have a problem with that.
- 39:08I have a big problem with that. And since that's and since those
- 39:12two Super Bowls happen, it's been, as you say, best Errol.
- 39:17And I know I owe you an appearance on Snowman in the
- 39:19morning. I've been revamping and put
- 39:21putting everything back together.
- 39:23It's been in the emotive words of Joe Beningo.
- 39:28What a disgrace. And that's all I got.
- 39:33And you said it best. And that's a 49er fan, ladies
- 39:36and gentlemen, a guy that I, I've come to respect.
- 39:39He, he does do all the calls for the 49ers every single week.
- 39:42He's he's a die hard 49er fan. And I'm talking about the Joe
- 39:46Montana era. I'm talking about this young
- 39:49era. This is this is a guy that's
- 39:50been following them for years and he speaks the truth.
- 39:53And, and to me, I think they should break everything up.
- 39:56And that means Kyle Shannon and John Lynch get rid of them all.
- 39:59Start over, start from scratch. They got to start.
- 40:03They got to start over because if they try to run it back with
- 40:05this group, considering Seattle not only not not only socked
- 40:09them in the mouth, but kicked them in the stomach and kicked
- 40:11them in the ass, what are they going to?
- 40:13Where are they going to go from here?
- 40:14That's why Sal is gone, Kubiak's next, and then Shanahan's going
- 40:21to be the lone wolf. What are you going to do, bring
- 40:23Steve Wilkes back in? Steve Wilkes got lucky for six
- 40:26games in San Francisco in 2023 and let and LED them to the
- 40:30Super Bowl. But in listening to an interview
- 40:32with their fabulous voice, Greg Papa, another cancer survivor
- 40:36who's near and dear to my heart, he lost the locker room.
- 40:40He lost the locker room. And you can have a team as proud
- 40:43as the 49ers have coordinators be on a revolving door and
- 40:49continue to lose the locker room.
- 40:52We've seen it before with many. We've seen it before with many
- 40:55Super Bowl champions that have fallen off the radar, especially
- 41:00in football. Sean Payton.
- 41:01Sean Payton in New Orleans, Dan Reeves in Denver.
- 41:04Now, Dan Reeves with the New York Giants in 1993, when they
- 41:10miraculously, and I mean this got to the playoffs in 1993,
- 41:14what happened? Ricky Waters happened and they
- 41:17had to blow and, and they had to blow it up then.
- 41:20So they, they, they got us, they, they got to start over.
- 41:25They, they, they got, they, they got to start over.
- 41:28And this is coming from a fellow who's followed the 49ers since
- 41:311980 and has been an insider from my own website since 2003.
- 41:37They they got to blow it up. They, they have to blow it up.
- 41:40And they got to get some fresh players in there and they got to
- 41:43follow Seattle's pattern in. And in turn, Seattle followed
- 41:47San Francisco's pattern. Get them young, get them into
- 41:49the draft, coach them up, get the right coach in there.
- 41:53And they and they going to start over again.
- 41:56And Errol, you've heard people criticize me many times, but I
- 41:59don't tell the truth about my teams.
- 42:02Let me say this to those who think that you haven't listened
- 42:05to my show for once, have you? Because I call it like you
- 42:09listen to me every morning. I call it like I see it every
- 42:12day do. You feel better.
- 42:14I call it. Do you feel better now?
- 42:18I do. All right, I just want to, I
- 42:20just want to make sure you feel better because I, I wanted to
- 42:23give you your time to just like just to get the feeling out, you
- 42:27know, I, I know how it feels to to want to punch something
- 42:31because being a jet fan, I want to punch everything.
- 42:34Right. You want to think about this
- 42:35funny alternate universe? What if the 49ers actually do
- 42:38fire Kyle Shanahan? He becomes the Bambi Sala
- 42:40offensive coordinator. That would be so funny.
- 42:47I'm I can't wait for you. I can't wait for you to call.
- 42:50I can't wait for you to call in and and talk jets with me,
- 42:54because the other time that the other time that you did, I did
- 42:57nothing but put the camera on you and give you the floor.
- 43:00So I thank you for doing that, doing that for me tonight and I
- 43:03thank you guys for allowing me allowing me to call in.
- 43:05I love you guys very, very much. Thank you for having me.
- 43:08I appreciate. It Bryan Snow, ladies and
- 43:10gentlemen, the snowman in the morning.
- 43:11He airs every single morning on the Worldwide Sports Radio
- 43:15Network. He does such a great job all
- 43:17over or he does the play calling.
- 43:18He he calls so many games. He he does everything and I, I
- 43:22love him. He's a cancer.
- 43:24Obviously all the cancer awareness.
- 43:27He's gone through so much stuff and the guy is still taking,
- 43:29still doing so many great things and we love him.
- 43:32He is a great person and and one of the best voices on the radio
- 43:36today. So thank you, Brian, for joining
- 43:38us, and we love you. And now let's get into probably
- 43:41the worst game of the weekend. And boy, oh boy, was this a bad,
- 43:47watchable game. And if you're a Patriot fan, I
- 43:51want to hear you. Patriot fans, give me that.
- 43:53Drake May is this, and Drake May is that.
- 43:55Drake May had a horrible game, a horrible game.
- 44:00Now does it? Do I think Drake May is a bad
- 44:01quarterback? No, I think Drake May could be
- 44:04an elite quarterback in this league for many, many years.
- 44:06We'll see how his development works with Mike Vrabo.
- 44:09Mike Vrabo making excuses. We all know that he makes a lot
- 44:13of excuses after, you know, during the half, they asked him,
- 44:15what do you need to do to keep the fumbles away and, and, and
- 44:18keep the fumbles from happening. And he says, well, we got to
- 44:21protect the quarterback. Really.
- 44:23Because here's what I would have done if I was Drake May.
- 44:26Stop holding the ball in the pocket as long as you did.
- 44:28And this has been his problem all season long.
- 44:31How many fumbles has Drake May had in the game in the league
- 44:36all season long? He led the league in fumbles, He
- 44:39led the league in fumbles. And in this game, what did he
- 44:42have 3/4? Four and two lost 2.
- 44:45Lost and I I'll say this, you can't blame the Texans defense
- 44:49on this loss. You can't.
- 44:51I mean, Anderson was all over the place.
- 44:52This guy to me and I'll I'll give a shout out to Jeff because
- 44:56Jeff has told me many, many times what this kid is going to
- 44:59be in the league and how talented he is going to be.
- 45:02Anderson is one of the elite pass rushers in the league.
- 45:04There's no question that he does.
- 45:06It is him and he had his first all pro season of his career.
- 45:10He was sensational. He really was Danielle.
- 45:13Danielle Hunter was great too, man, 22 sacks in a game.
- 45:17You can't blame the front 7 of this team.
- 45:20They were all over the place. They were sensational all game
- 45:24long. Put pressure on Drake May, put
- 45:27pressure on the offensive line, the young offensive line of the
- 45:32the snowy, snowy New England fans and snowy New England
- 45:36offensive line. I will say this to me, CJ
- 45:42Stroud, you have to watch in this game is not the answer.
- 45:45He's not. And to me, I Speedy, you know, I
- 45:49was talking about, you know, before this show and who I blame
- 45:52for this. Hey, Coach.
- 45:54D'amico Ryan's. Yeah, D'amico Ryan's is to blame
- 45:57on not bringing in Mills. Mills was the reason why they
- 46:02went on that winning streak. And I I know everybody's going
- 46:04to say you got to trust your veteran quarterback, You got to
- 46:07trust your kid that you're drafting in the first round,
- 46:09this number two pick of the draft.
- 46:11But guess what? CJ Strout was not good all
- 46:13season long. In the second-half of the season
- 46:15against really bad talent. He showed up and he played
- 46:18decent, but he wasn't the elite quarterback he was the first two
- 46:22years in and especially his freshman year.
- 46:25We had one of the greatest seasons of fresh a freshman
- 46:27quarterback has had in the NFL. He made a load of mistakes.
- 46:31He threw 4 interceptions in this game.
- 46:33He did not show up in this game and really look like he wanted
- 46:36to play in this game. Do you know what his quarterback
- 46:38rating was in this game? Probably the worst in NFL
- 46:42history. Playoff in a divisional game In
- 46:45any game, any Series A 28. Oh wow, I was going to say 32.
- 46:50OK. A20.
- 46:51Eight. I was going to, I was going to
- 46:52be in the 30s. 28 I mean it was in a horrendous game for him and
- 46:59Drake made Drake made was not good. 16 for 27179 yards, 3
- 47:04touchdowns, 1 interception, 4 forced fumbles.
- 47:07He was not good. But guess what?
- 47:10The Patriots did enough and boy oh boy, that one handed grab in
- 47:14the fourth quarter by how do you pronounce his name?
- 47:17Booty Booty, Booty. Java's favorite wide receiver.
- 47:20I I mean you. Got to have the booty.
- 47:22Hey, Sean Booty, what mad catch that he made in this game.
- 47:27That one handed grab. One handed grab was sensation
- 47:30one of the greatest grabs I've seen in the playoffs in a very
- 47:33long time. That was sensational to watch.
- 47:36And I I know everybody would have thought, hey, Stefan Diggs
- 47:40was going to be that go to guy. No, when they needed booty to
- 47:43make a play, they were going to booty, especially in the fourth
- 47:45quarter. And I I, I he spread out the
- 47:48ball very well. Drake me.
- 47:49I can't say that he didn't gave the ball to Austin Hooper.
- 47:52He gave the ball to Douglas and Diggs and booty and Henry.
- 47:56Everybody touched the ball in this game, but Kyle Williams it.
- 48:02Was a six round rookie. Yeah, but I'm just saying
- 48:04everybody touched the ball and and I'll say this, if they play
- 48:08like this, they're not going to beat the Bo Knicks lost Broncos
- 48:15in Denver. But to me, Drake May is better
- 48:18than what is his name again, Shitham or Jared Stidham?
- 48:23Just just boy, you didn't get that joke, did you?
- 48:26Oh, I did. I mean, I just there's no way in
- 48:31hell that the Broncos are going to win this game against Drake
- 48:35may even though they have the home game now, unless the
- 48:38Broncos put up a great defensive game plan against Drake may in
- 48:41this defense on this offense. I, I'll say this Rabos defensive
- 48:47play calling and this defense was sensational.
- 48:49Their secondary was great. Jones was sensational.
- 48:51Gonzalez was Gonzalez was sensational.
- 48:54And I'll say this, all the teams that passed up on Christian
- 48:57Gonzalez. Oh, oh, the Patriots.
- 49:01And, and I'll say this, yes, Bill Belichick is laughing to
- 49:05the bank because he was Bill Belichick's last, I think last
- 49:09first round draft. He was he was the 17th overall
- 49:11pick when a lot of people thought he was the top ten
- 49:13corner definitely. And then maybe a top five
- 49:16corner. Now Seattle obviously looks
- 49:17smart taking Witherspoon because Witherspoon is a great too.
- 49:19But there are a lot of other teams that took some corners
- 49:22that have already been cut from their rosters that don't look as
- 49:25bright, right? Now, it was horrible to watch.
- 49:27This is the worst football you could possibly watch.
- 49:29And when you look at the score, you're going to say, well, how
- 49:31could you say that? I mean, it was a high scoring
- 49:33game, 28 to 16. I it was something that if
- 49:38you're a football thing, you don't want to watch.
- 49:40Yeah, if you like good defense, maybe, But it wasn't even the
- 49:43defenses forcing the fumbles. Except I, I guess I, I would say
- 49:46the Texans were, but they were just, to me, CJ Strout's
- 49:51mistakes were his mistakes and his mistakes only.
- 49:54He made more mistakes than I could even try to compare to any
- 49:59player, any quarterback in history in the playoffs.
- 50:02I don't even think a hurt Peyton Manning would have made as many
- 50:05mistakes as is a guy of CJ Stroud's talent.
- 50:09I mean, seriously, Peyton Manning at the tail end of his
- 50:11career when he won a Super Bowl, he was not good, but he made the
- 50:14throws that he needed to make to win a Super Bowl against the
- 50:17Carolina Panthers. This guy did not show up.
- 50:21He looked like he didn't want to be there.
- 50:23He looked like he was completely beat in the first half of the
- 50:26game. Speedy.
- 50:26Yeah, and we've heard over the we've seen it over the last like
- 50:2915 years or so when before Houston became more relevant
- 50:33franchise because they were a pretty bad the 1st 10 years of
- 50:35their existence. But the Texans were always like
- 50:38a a great team that just needed the quarterback for a while.
- 50:40They had TJ Yates and Case Keenum and all these other
- 50:43random rotational guys. They overpaid Brock Osweiler
- 50:46after they won the Super Bowl with the Broncos.
- 50:49Yes, yes, you're trying to forget that one.
- 50:52I'm sure your son is too Java, but they gave him that
- 50:55ridiculous contract and then they got to Sean Watson.
- 50:57Obviously he was good in the playoffs for a little while, but
- 50:59then obviously that flamed out. But now CJ Stradley bringing in
- 51:02is the number two overall pick was supposed to be this
- 51:04allegedly most talented guy in that draft class.
- 51:07He didn't go number one. I thought Bright Shung was
- 51:09better, but most people thought Straw was better and he had that
- 51:12unbelievable rookie year. And obviously the expectation
- 51:14will be a lot higher. He's kind of fallen to that,
- 51:16kind of just mediocre. Falling flat on his.
- 51:18Face and I don't think he's reached that level where he
- 51:21thinks I I could just be a gay manager type and that's where.
- 51:25He tastes himself. That's where I think that he
- 51:27wasn't ready for that kind of thing with Mike Vrabel, a coach
- 51:30who's familiar with him. He coached him with the Titans,
- 51:33against him with the Titans. He has played Harold Landry
- 51:36that's played against him with the Titans, others with the
- 51:39Jaguars and Chase on and a bunch of others that played against
- 51:41him know his tendencies and they just exposed his weaknesses
- 51:45badly. You're right, the Texans defense
- 51:47did everything they. Got in that game it's not their
- 51:49fault and Jeff said something very interesting.
- 51:51OSU quarterbacks have always been bad in the NFL correct and
- 51:55and and I I thought this was going to change because I
- 51:58thought CJ Stroud was going to change the whole thought to
- 52:00that. Now, I don't know what saying
- 52:03it's going to be. Maybe he's the best one.
- 52:04We'll see how that all works out.
- 52:06And and more, more than likely he goes to the New York Jets and
- 52:10absolutely bombs out. So it it's typical The Jets
- 52:13draft saying and he is a completely bomb.
- 52:15Thrust. I don't know The Jets.
- 52:16The Jets are usually bet worse at cursing Ohio State wide
- 52:18receivers. I'm just saying, I mean Ohio
- 52:20State wide wide receivers are good.
- 52:21I mean we. We.
- 52:22Wilson finally broke it, but after the Devin Smith and Steven
- 52:25Hill era. No, but I'm saying that most
- 52:28first round Ohio State Buckeye wide receivers are pretty damn
- 52:31good. OK, so I, I just my question
- 52:34here is, is how is how bad is this game going to be next week
- 52:39in Denver? Are we going to watch a Drake
- 52:42made complete passes? Are we going to watch Stidham
- 52:45out class and out play an organization that drafted him in
- 52:49the seventh round? I, I don't know what to believe,
- 52:51but here's what I do know. CJ Strout is on the hot seat.
- 52:56He's on the hot seat. There is no way this
- 52:59organization in the offseason. And by the way, Mills is a free
- 53:01agent. A. 100%.
- 53:04Well, yeah, it's year 3, so they have to decide on a fifth year
- 53:07option, which they will probably give him.
- 53:08But we were talking about even if like he had a good game and
- 53:11maybe they make a run to a Super Bowl, maybe pay him this
- 53:13offseason a good contract, now you can't even do.
- 53:15That you can't, no, you cannot do that because Mills, to me,
- 53:18play better. And D'amico Ryan should have let
- 53:20Mills play you. You should have went ride or die
- 53:23with all the guys on your team. And I know you're going to ride
- 53:26or die with your starting quarterback.
- 53:28I know that's the guy you drafted, but Mills was the one
- 53:30that helped you get there. You're going to ride or die with
- 53:32that guy. We've seen backup quarterbacks
- 53:35take teams to a Super Bowl. We've seen that before.
- 53:37So why can't we see that again? So remember the Tampa Bay
- 53:41Buccaneers? More crimes than not too.
- 53:43And then that turns into them getting another contract and and
- 53:47extending their career. I'm telling you right now, if
- 53:49I'm The Jets. Might be the case.
- 53:51I'm reaching out to Mills agent in the Aussies.
- 53:53I think he's a free agent. I'm absolutely reaching out to
- 53:56Mills agent and trying to bring him in.
- 53:58That's the guy I'm looking for. And there are other teams are
- 54:01gonna be looking at Mills too. But he has proven that he can
- 54:05play as a quarterback in this league and he's played
- 54:08efficient. I, I talked to Jeff about this
- 54:09before and I said, what do you think about Mills?
- 54:12He says Mills is competent quarterback.
- 54:13He's one of the more competent backup quarterbacks in the
- 54:15league. I've talked to a lot of experts
- 54:17about some of these guys in the league and who you what backup
- 54:20quarterback would you start in the future if he becomes
- 54:23available? And a lot of guys like Mills, I,
- 54:25I think that's a guy that's a find.
- 54:27And if you're an organization looking for that guy or looking
- 54:30for a guy or a diamond in a rough, that's the guy in Tamika
- 54:33Ryan's completely struck out on this, completely struck out on
- 54:36this. And that's why they're not
- 54:38moving on. That's why the Texans in that
- 54:39dominant defense. If, if the Texans win this game,
- 54:42the Texans, Texans beat the Broncos and, and maybe win the
- 54:45Super Bowl this year. I think the way they way
- 54:47Anderson is playing and Hunter is playing, they're as good of a
- 54:51tandem as anybody we've seen in the league.
- 54:54And to watch them go down the way they did, yes, it was
- 54:56snowing, but there's no excuse to it to to make the excuses
- 55:00that they made with the offensive side of the ball was
- 55:02just absolutely putrid. Say a lot about Tamika Ryan's in
- 55:06his play calling. Yeah, on the Patriots standpoint
- 55:08too, I do want to bring that up because the the Broncos are
- 55:11still going to apply pressure to them where the Texans, they now
- 55:14they're maybe tested with facing that good of a pass rush.
- 55:17They're going to have to adjust to play differently on offense
- 55:19than they did because Drake May, his reads were not great,
- 55:22especially in the in the second in quarter.
- 55:24I thought that's where I think two of those fumbles happening
- 55:26and then the one he lost was in the third quarter and it really
- 55:29he really only looked like he was crisp maybe towards the
- 55:31fourth quarter. But at that point, like you
- 55:33said, the Texans defense is going to be tired at that point
- 55:35because of how ballovers they've been on the field because the CJ
- 55:37strike kept turning the ball over.
- 55:39They can't have that kind of game plan against the Broncos
- 55:41and expect to, even if they do play Jarrett Stidham because
- 55:44that's where the route they're going.
- 55:46Sean Payton's a smart coach. This is a really good
- 55:48championship caliber defense. Patriots have a good defense,
- 55:51but it's not a championship caliber defense like you see the
- 55:53Broncos, the Texans, even the Seahawks like teams like that.
- 55:57They can't afford to play like that.
- 55:59As sloppy as they were, they're not going to be able to run the
- 56:00ball as effectively either as they did in this game or on J
- 56:02Stevenson. I believe it's 75 yards in this
- 56:04game. Henderson got it going in the
- 56:06second-half a little more, but the Broncos can stop the run a
- 56:09lot better too. And I they can't be comfortable
- 56:12with the way they played and expect to be able to go to a
- 56:14Super Bowl nevertheless win 1. What do you what do you think
- 56:17the Broncos have to do from their end?
- 56:19Obviously not having Bo Nicks that they're going to have to
- 56:22change up to to try and win this.
- 56:23Game. I've got it.
- 56:24Ron. Ron, run.
- 56:27That's it. And it's interesting there is a
- 56:29practice window. Maybe he'll play for JK Dobbins.
- 56:32We'll see. The other thing is run with
- 56:34their receivers, too. Mims is a speedy guy.
- 56:37They could use a lot of the rookies that they, a lot of the
- 56:39rookies they drafted later. Gadget guys are going to.
- 56:41Sean Payton's a great gadget caller, so he is going to try to
- 56:45use gadget plays. I don't know if there's any wide
- 56:48receivers that at one point of their careers have been a
- 56:51quarterback in high school or something of that magnitude.
- 56:55If there are, we've seen some crazy things by Sean Payton.
- 56:58This guy is the masterful, he's a masterful coach that likes to
- 57:02use trick plays and, and gadget plays over the years.
- 57:05So am I going to be crazy to believe that something that
- 57:09somebody like John Payton's going to have some cut, some
- 57:11kind of thing drawn up or some kind of play drawing up or how
- 57:14many players are going to be drawn up in the game in the
- 57:16first or second quarter that can absolutely devalue the
- 57:20opportunity to take over this game?
- 57:22I, I think it might and, and, and, and again, this defense is
- 57:25elite. It is elite, but they're going
- 57:27to have to show up in the big parts of this game and shut down
- 57:29Drake May. Drake May is still a quality
- 57:32quarterback. You can't say that he's not.
- 57:34And they're going to have to put pressure like the Texans did if
- 57:37they plan to beat him. Before we move on to the Bears
- 57:39and the Rams game, the Jabba, you were talking about how many
- 57:41trick plays A-Team should do too.
- 57:43Like the Bears and the Rams will play fearless that we saw.
- 57:46We've seen the Broncos at times play fearless with some of their
- 57:49reverses. They can't back off now just
- 57:51because they have a backup quarterback in and just all of a
- 57:54sudden be too conservative because I can burn them so.
- 57:58Fair. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 58:01the final game of the week was a doozy.
- 58:05Boy, oh boy, was it a doozy. And if you're a Rams fan, you,
- 58:12you were sweating. I was sweating.
- 58:15Taking a deep breath, that's what you're doing.
- 58:17You were sweating because what Caleb Williams did in the fourth
- 58:21quarter and I don't I don't have to talk about anything more than
- 58:24the. Fourth quarter, give a damn what
- 58:26anybody says to do what he did. Throw off his back foot, rotate
- 58:31his hips like people that haven't thrown a ball to run
- 58:36back and throw that 50 yards in the air off your back foot to be
- 58:39able to rotate. Yeah, they fell out of position
- 58:42or whatever. I don't care.
- 58:43You can say whatever you want. That was one of the most
- 58:47impressive things I've ever seen because I know how hard it is to
- 58:50throw an object. But what he did right there, I,
- 58:53my mouth dropped and I don't get impressed by people throwing
- 58:56things a lot. But that right there was
- 58:59something where I'm just like you, you can't, you can't
- 59:03describe it like how hard that is in the moment.
- 59:07And we're like, he could do that in any aspect, but like in that
- 59:11moment to be able to have the awareness and just, and you've
- 59:15talked about it, you, you were sold on Caleb from the get go.
- 59:188th grade. In the way he was as an athlete
- 59:20and like as we seen him grow in the second-half and become the
- 59:25better quarterback that you said he was from the get go, to be
- 59:29able to slow the game down and do those things, that was
- 59:32absolutely one of the most unbelievable throws I've seen
- 59:35from a quarterback. I've been wrong about certain
- 59:37quarterbacks, Zach Wilson, B1, but I was not wrong about Caleb
- 59:40Williams and nobody wants to give me any credit when I do
- 59:43pick the right. Actually, I know you don't.
- 59:45You did. But there are a lot of people
- 59:47that don't and and Caleb Williams is special.
- 59:50The things that he does off the back foot and moving inside and
- 59:54out of the pocket, how he escaped from those 3 defensive
- 59:57lineman and to get that ball off to Cole Commit was just just
- 1:00:01absolutely amazing. It really was.
- 1:00:03And that game was boring. It was defense, it was mistakes.
- 1:00:07There was just really, the first half was pathetic.
- 1:00:11And and the Rams, I thought they were going to put up points and
- 1:00:13I thought there was going to be chase, there was going to be
- 1:00:15high scoring and it was going to be a path all the way.
- 1:00:17If it goes to overtime, it would be like 35 to 30 or 37 to 42 or
- 1:00:24something of that magnitude. That was going to be, you know,
- 1:00:27Puka Nakua's day or something like that.
- 1:00:28It just wasn't it really wasn't. It was it, it to me, it was it
- 1:00:33was bad out. It was snowing.
- 1:00:35But there's no excuse. I know the the the field out
- 1:00:38there, it is grass and it's an old Chicago Bears stadium.
- 1:00:42But it it to me, the fans were loud at the Rams.
- 1:00:46It was cold. You can see Matthew Stafford,
- 1:00:48and I got to give Matthew Stafford, and I'll say this, I'm
- 1:00:53not a Sean McVeigh fan. Anybody that listens to the
- 1:00:55show. I'm not a Sean McVeigh fan.
- 1:00:57I got to give Sean McVeigh a little bit of credit for this
- 1:00:59because to travel all the way to Chicago, when everybody said
- 1:01:03that and they were practicing in 80° weather and they were using
- 1:01:09like this, I don't remember what they were saying before the
- 1:01:11game. They were putting things in
- 1:01:12their shoes and their gloves. And I'll get to that at the end
- 1:01:15of the cell. This crazy crap that they were
- 1:01:18putting to try to make sure that their feet and their hands were
- 1:01:20warm. It it says a lot about Sean
- 1:01:23McVay and and the way he believes in his team and the way
- 1:01:25he believes in his quarterback and Matthew Stafford.
- 1:01:28He didn't have one of his best days, but he did enough, enough
- 1:01:33to win this game. And that's scary to go to play
- 1:01:37the Rams in Seattle. That to me, Seattle should be
- 1:01:40afraid of the Rams because the Rams are finding ways to win
- 1:01:43games that honestly, a lot of people probably would have
- 1:01:46thought they were going to lose that game after Caleb completed
- 1:01:49that pass with 18 seconds left. I really believe going into
- 1:01:52overtime, Chicago was winning that game and Caleb Williams
- 1:01:55made a bad throw to curl through an interception and it looked
- 1:01:59like they were going to win the game.
- 1:02:00They it looked like Caleb Williams was confident and and
- 1:02:04Caleb Williams didn't cry. I mean, what we've known him to
- 1:02:07do over the years, especially at USC is cry when he loses the big
- 1:02:10game. He, he was a man about things.
- 1:02:13Even when he spoke to the press, he was man, he was a manly
- 1:02:16person and a player. That's something I got to give
- 1:02:19Caleb Williams a little bit of credit for because over the
- 1:02:21years that we've watched him, he's done things that you make
- 1:02:24you shake your head. But I, maybe it's been Johnson
- 1:02:28and, and, and I, I do believe Sean McVeigh cuffed it down Ben
- 1:02:31Johnson's throat. And if, if Ben Johnson came back
- 1:02:34and won that game, you know, Ben Johnson would have been as as
- 1:02:38loud and as rambunctious as he's been over the last couple of
- 1:02:42weeks. So I, I got to give the Rams a
- 1:02:45little bit of credit. It was back and forth in the
- 1:02:48fourth quarter. It was so fun to watch in the
- 1:02:51fourth quarter. The rest of the game was
- 1:02:53pathetic. And then the overtime, I, the
- 1:02:55Rams made a mistake. Matthew Stafford thought he lost
- 1:02:57it for his team. He he looked like he did and,
- 1:03:00and and and the Bears defense played very well put a lot of
- 1:03:04pressure. You got to give the Bears a lot
- 1:03:05of credit the defense in the way they they drew up some of these
- 1:03:08defensive play calling. It was fun to watch.
- 1:03:10And but the the, the play of the day and the play of the game and
- 1:03:14the play of the week was the unbelievable toss by Caleb
- 1:03:19Williams was absolutely amazing. If you want to pick something
- 1:03:22out of anything I saw this weekend, it was that it was
- 1:03:26special. Yeah, and you were talking about
- 1:03:27the the ability to make throws in so many different areas for
- 1:03:31any of these quarterbacks, too. Like you're making it, you're
- 1:03:34making it 20 yards back, essentially.
- 1:03:35With that much pressure on you, it's very hard for any
- 1:03:38quarterback to do. We talk about some of these Hail
- 1:03:40Marys. Aaron Rodgers have made the
- 1:03:42obviously the unbelievable escape that Eli Manning made in
- 1:03:44the Super Bowl against the Patriots, like just a throw,
- 1:03:48just an ability backtracking. That might be the best one that
- 1:03:51we've seen. And in the pressure of that kind
- 1:03:53of moment to have that kind of composure to do it in the
- 1:03:56playoffs is put is going to put Caleb Williams on another level
- 1:04:00before we get to I know Jeff on the phone.
- 1:04:01That's very I want to get to in a bit.
- 1:04:03You mentioned the Bears defense, though.
- 1:04:04This was the game I wanted to see their secondary get their
- 1:04:06tests in and they did that in the game.
- 1:04:07They held their own. The pass rush did very well, but
- 1:04:09the Rams just that much better and Chris Schuler harder for his
- 1:04:12defenses. All right.
- 1:04:13Are you ready to hear Jeff? All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:04:16Jeff from Tampa. Jeff, you could call back we.
- 1:04:19Could call back. I don't know if he got
- 1:04:20disconnected. He might have got disconnected,
- 1:04:22maybe he was a little upset. All right, Jeff, Jeff call back,
- 1:04:24I'll finish my thoughts on this game as well with the the Rams
- 1:04:27running game I think just was a little bit better.
- 1:04:28I think that was the main difference where the Bears, I've
- 1:04:31mentioned they're against the Rams top five run defense and
- 1:04:34we're not going to be able to get it going.
- 1:04:36And I worried on the inside run game they wouldn't be able to
- 1:04:38and they didn't. And I think that was a hard for
- 1:04:40them to overcome and be the well-rounded offense that they
- 1:04:42were supposed to be. And I think the Brams just had a
- 1:04:45little more when the Bears shut down Pokonukua, they had a good
- 1:04:47game plan for. Him.
- 1:04:48All right, we got Jeff on the phone.
- 1:04:50How are you my friends? I'm good, Earl.
- 1:04:53How are you of? Course you would say something
- 1:04:56stupid like that, but typical Jeff, what's up?
- 1:04:58Buddy, Caleb Williams is an absolute luck box.
- 1:05:02That's all he is, is an absolute luck box.
- 1:05:05That dude makes some worst throws you've ever seen.
- 1:05:10Jeff, I knew you were going to come out and try to attack
- 1:05:12something that I was going to say, but not.
- 1:05:15Attacking you? There's no attack there.
- 1:05:16Caleb Williams stinks. He does not.
- 1:05:19Every weapon in the world. He's got Roma, June say he's got
- 1:05:21DJ Moore, Colston, Loveland. Luther Burden is emerging.
- 1:05:25Cole Commet is on that team. How many more weapons do we have
- 1:05:28to give this guy? And we're still watching him
- 1:05:31fall down and throw terrible passes half the time.
- 1:05:34Jeff, when When a guy goes out there and makes a pass like that
- 1:05:38on national television at the end of a game with 18 seconds
- 1:05:41left of a game, you could say it's luck all you want.
- 1:05:44You could say whatever you want to say about it, it's still a
- 1:05:47pass. He made the pass and you got to
- 1:05:49give him credit. It was a it was a good pass, but
- 1:05:51you guys are all acting like no one else can do it.
- 1:05:53Josh Allen did it, but Lamar Jackson's done it.
- 1:05:56Patrick Mahomes has done it. It was 18.
- 1:05:58Seconds. You're naming probably the few
- 1:05:59that can. 18 seconds in the fourth quarter where your team
- 1:06:03is going to lose, they did that. When did they do that?
- 1:06:07Right. OK, So what about the fourth
- 1:06:09down conversions that he was throwing terrible passes earlier
- 1:06:11in the game? Does those not count?
- 1:06:13You make mistakes you make. Only the one he completed
- 1:06:15counts. See, the only one he completed.
- 1:06:18That was the only one he completed.
- 1:06:20On 4th he there was several. Yeah, they had some misses on
- 1:06:244th down. Yes, obviously Ben Johnson's
- 1:06:26going to coach that way he coaches like Dan Campbell.
- 1:06:28There were. I'm not saying Caleb Williams
- 1:06:30had the most amazing game, but no, the Rams have a good
- 1:06:32defense, too. When they needed to make a
- 1:06:34throw, he made the throw and I you could sit here and you can.
- 1:06:38Argue it. Absolute luck boxed.
- 1:06:40It well, that's your opinion. I disagree with you.
- 1:06:42I think that obviously he had to know that Cole Commit was there.
- 1:06:47There's no way he didn't know that he was there.
- 1:06:49There's no way. Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:06:51Wearing the same jersey and he's got highs.
- 1:06:53Come on, He knew he was there. Dude, the way he moved inside
- 1:06:57and out of that pocket and escaped from three big defensive
- 1:07:01lineman and get that ball off on the back foot was since.
- 1:07:04So a little fast guy outruns 3 fat dudes.
- 1:07:07Little fast guy? Impressive thing you've ever.
- 1:07:09It's not little. I mean, A6263 quarterback is not
- 1:07:13small. He's like, he's probably like
- 1:07:15barely 6 feet probably. Two of those three guys were an
- 1:07:17interior rush. That's hard for quarterbacks.
- 1:07:19He's not 6 feet. In six years, a rush.
- 1:07:21You know what that means, Speedy, they're £350.
- 1:07:24If you can't outrun someone that's £350.
- 1:07:27You got it. You know damn well that these
- 1:07:29defensive lineman can run a 4546.
- 1:07:34They've done it before. So you can't sit here and tell
- 1:07:36me that they can't get at them and try to press.
- 1:07:39Them back in the league can outrun them.
- 1:07:41I disagree. Matthew.
- 1:07:42Safford, Ken. Matthew Stafford has a broken
- 1:07:46back and still can outrun them. You're out of your mind.
- 1:07:49You're out of your mind. I, I love color play.
- 1:07:51I typical Jeff, ladies and gentlemen, he will attend.
- 1:07:54Matthew Stafford still in the playoffs because every time he
- 1:07:57throws A touchdown, they show Kelly Stafford and that's worth
- 1:08:00it. Typical.
- 1:08:02Typical. Why?
- 1:08:03Because he was with Georgia, too.
- 1:08:06The great Georgia quarterback, by the way, and great George?
- 1:08:09No, but have you seen Kelly Stafford?
- 1:08:11He throws A touchdown pass. They show Kelly Stafford.
- 1:08:13That's America winning America's back, baby.
- 1:08:17Leave it up to Jeff, ladies and gentlemen, giving us his take on
- 1:08:21Caleb Williams. Amazing.
- 1:08:22And you're not giving enough credit to that New England
- 1:08:25defense, by the way. What are you talking about?
- 1:08:27I gave him a lot of credit. Were you, are you listening to
- 1:08:29this? That was all CJ Shroud.
- 1:08:31No defense is pretty. I said their secondary was
- 1:08:33amazing. Jones was amazing.
- 1:08:35God was a. Secondary, that was amazing.
- 1:08:37It was their mind. Oh dude, it was their secondary.
- 1:08:40Their safeties exact. They hovered over every single
- 1:08:43wide receiver. Anything.
- 1:08:45Dude, they were up the world. That secondary was amazing.
- 1:08:48Right, but go and look right but go and look at Woody Marks first
- 1:08:50half stats. Do you know what he rushed for
- 1:08:52in the first half? Dude.
- 1:08:54He he had eight carries for seven yards and one of of woody
- 1:09:00Marks and one of the interceptions Stroud through was
- 1:09:03because to Levon Chaison absolutely murder Stroud.
- 1:09:07Woody Marks we arguing about woody marks, is that where?
- 1:09:12We're not. No, no, no.
- 1:09:13It's the fact that the Patriots have a top five rush number one
- 1:09:17run defense. Yeah, they don't.
- 1:09:18Nobody said that they don't, and nobody said that they weren't
- 1:09:21good. But when you can't run on a
- 1:09:22team, you have to pass. That's the whole thing.
- 1:09:24Yeah, and to me, CJ Straub could have passed against any defense.
- 1:09:28He was going to throw those interceptions.
- 1:09:30One hand washes the other in football, right?
- 1:09:32If you have an amazing pass rush, it makes the quarterback's
- 1:09:35jobs easier. And they were getting home.
- 1:09:37I mean, mostly because the Texans were playing with it.
- 1:09:41Ended up being a third Stringer at right tackle, right?
- 1:09:45Because they were without. Who were they without?
- 1:09:49I think it was Earth 3, their rookie.
- 1:09:51No Earth 3 was there. It was around their right
- 1:09:53tackle. It wasn't.
- 1:09:55Their backup got hurt and they had to go to a third Stringer.
- 1:09:59There is no they. Were hurt.
- 1:10:00They were hurt. I don't care.
- 1:10:02To me, D'amico Ryan's to me should have done what I thought
- 1:10:06he should have done in the second-half is bringing Mills.
- 1:10:09See what you're what you're going to get at, what you're
- 1:10:11going to get out of Mills. You weren't getting enough out
- 1:10:12of Stroud. At least bring him in and see
- 1:10:15what you have. Maybe he makes one or two
- 1:10:17acrobatic passes, gets his team wounded up and maybe they they
- 1:10:22find a way to win the game or find a way they take this
- 1:10:24overtime and and and find a way to beat the Patriots in New
- 1:10:27England. I don't know.
- 1:10:28But the way D'amico Ryan's was calling the game and it really
- 1:10:32in the second-half has you to me, has me questioning if he's
- 1:10:36the right guy for the job. That's just my opinion.
- 1:10:38I mean, maybe not, but you can't bench CJ Stroud because they're
- 1:10:41going to end up signing him to an extension.
- 1:10:43Well, they're making a mistake. And not because they want to,
- 1:10:45but because they have. To yeah, I know they're making.
- 1:10:47A mistake, yeah. They're a bad quarterback
- 1:10:48franchise overall, so they got to get.
- 1:10:51Some, I mean it's not even just that, but like look around the
- 1:10:53league. How do you think truer got a
- 1:10:54contract? When you look around the league,
- 1:10:56there's nobody else that can come in.
- 1:10:58It's why Justin Fields keeps getting jobs, because there's no
- 1:11:01quarterbacks out. There's why Russell Wilson kept
- 1:11:03getting a job. There's no one out there to come
- 1:11:06in and replace them. So if they're not going with CJ
- 1:11:08Stroud, what are they going to go with?
- 1:11:09What are they going to be The Jets and draft a quarterback
- 1:11:11every year? There he is, ladies and
- 1:11:13gentlemen. Jeff.
- 1:11:15I'm a Jets guy. I'm a Jets guy.
- 1:11:17I'm tired of drafting quarter. Throw me a curveball, ladies and
- 1:11:20gentlemen. Let's talk about The Jets, baby.
- 1:11:23Let's talk about you and me. Buddy, I'm a Jets guy.
- 1:11:27You know, I'm a Jets guy, but it's like it's and we go through
- 1:11:30quarterbacks. Let's talk about all the good
- 1:11:32things and the bad things that they'll be.
- 1:11:37I mean, you can't. You can't.
- 1:11:39Do it otherwise like. That's why he's probably going
- 1:11:41to get an extension instead. Like that, Speedy?
- 1:11:44Oh, yeah. Do you do you just want to be
- 1:11:46the New Orleans Saints? Is that what they want to be?
- 1:11:48And they when they can't figure out quarterback.
- 1:11:52I, I don't, no, I, I don't. But hey, as as a Jet fan or an
- 1:11:57Eagles guy or anybody you want to point or you want to play
- 1:12:00darts with, I could say this CJ Strout is not the answer.
- 1:12:05D'amico Ryan's has proven to me that when the going gets tough
- 1:12:09and you need to make a decision to make that decision, you make
- 1:12:12the right decision. You make the decision to say
- 1:12:15that this quarterback did not have it that day.
- 1:12:18You take him out, you show everybody that you're going to
- 1:12:21go and try to get that win and he didn't he.
- 1:12:24What happened to CJ Stroud? Rookie year?
- 1:12:26CJ Stroud was unstoppable. Yeah, well, I don't know what
- 1:12:29happened to him, but if the Grinch stole Christmas, CJ
- 1:12:33Stroud stole the Texans heart. This offseason, because they're
- 1:12:40going to be watching golf or playing golf and watching the
- 1:12:43Super Bowl and they're not going to be in it.
- 1:12:44That's. For sure.
- 1:12:45They were never going to win anyways.
- 1:12:46Do you realize, like, think about this, right?
- 1:12:48Everyone gives like, Denver love because Denver's a hard place to
- 1:12:51like, win, go and win. Everyone gives Seattle love.
- 1:12:54Oh, it's so loud. When was the last time a road
- 1:12:56team won in New England? No.
- 1:12:59I got you man. It's a tough place to play and
- 1:13:01win. The Frabal got you.
- 1:13:03Jeff, we got to. Go and that was like 5 years ago
- 1:13:07dude. Jeff.
- 1:13:08And before that, it was crazy. Jeff, we love you and you can
- 1:13:12call back whenever you want. I don't care what.
- 1:13:14No, no, no, no, no. I can't do that.
- 1:13:16This is because someone isn't there.
- 1:13:18Like that's what he said, and I don't, I don't want to make
- 1:13:20that. Person no you can call when he's
- 1:13:21there too. We.
- 1:13:22Could call when. Every If that person gets mad, I
- 1:13:24don't know what I'll do. You can call big deal you.
- 1:13:26Can call when he's there too. We call whenever you want, We
- 1:13:29love. You know how much of it he told
- 1:13:30me not to. You can.
- 1:13:32We just told you you can, so we override.
- 1:13:35You can go against him. Do you know how much of a big
- 1:13:37deal he is? Goodbye.
- 1:13:39Goodbye, Jeff. Thank you.
- 1:13:40Jeff. Thank you, Jeff.
- 1:13:42There it is. The Lord and Savior of this show
- 1:13:46has reappeared from the depths of beyond Jeff from Tampa.
- 1:13:51That's a good way to thank you. I love the personalities that we
- 1:13:56bring on the show. I just love how the flow of the
- 1:13:58show has been working and it's been great.
- 1:14:01It's been such a success for all the transitions and and all the
- 1:14:06different stories that we get into.
- 1:14:07So and we give the best takes. I don't care what anybody says.
- 1:14:11Our takes are as good as anybody's and we go outside of
- 1:14:13the box. I'm sure nobody says the things.
- 1:14:16I mean, did anybody say, did anybody bring up McDermott going
- 1:14:20to The Jets? Did anybody even think to do
- 1:14:22that? I mean, Jets, The Jets haven't
- 1:14:24even thought to do that because they're dumb organization.
- 1:14:27So I, I just think our takes are fresh, new and interesting.
- 1:14:32And I think people that haven't listened to the show or has
- 1:14:36heard of the show should be listening to it.
- 1:14:38Understand that we are the best. And I will put this show against
- 1:14:41anybody and I'll, I'll, I'll take that to the grave.
- 1:14:44And when when it goes, when it comes to and when it goes to an
- 1:14:48opportunity and comes to an opportunity in the future, you
