- 1:00Speaker 3: Robert Duval. We don't have time in this two hours
- 1:05Speaker 3: to list all of the unbelievable roles that he was
- 1:11Speaker 3: in and everything that he did, but my gosh, what
- 1:14Speaker 3: a career he had. The Great Robert Duval had a
- 1:22Speaker 3: special affinity for the state of Texas.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Glad to have you with us on this Monday.
- 1:27Speaker 3: This portion of the program brought to you by Central

- 1:39Speaker 1: In the second hour.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Tonight, the Houston Cougars will face a little Hilton Magic,
- 1:48Speaker 3: a big Monday showdown with Houston and Iowa State, two
- 1:54Speaker 3: teams that no one would be surprised if they made
- 1:58Speaker 3: it to the Final four. Syracuse and Duke also play
- 2:03Speaker 3: this evening. Saturday afternoon in Nashville. The Aggies drop their
- 2:08Speaker 3: fourth straight eighty two sixty nine to Vanderbilt. We will
- 2:14Speaker 3: spend some time talking about that one. They return for
- 2:19Speaker 3: a midweek game Wednesday evening at six against Old Miss.
- 2:26Speaker 1: They need to win.
- 2:28Speaker 3: They badly need to win an especially Wednesday night.
- 2:34Speaker 1: They need to beat Old Miss.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Then they need to beat Oklahoma Saturday night. Then they
- 2:44Speaker 3: go to Fayatnam. Now I don't think they're gonna win
- 2:52Speaker 3: at fayet Nam. Then they come home to play the
- 2:55Speaker 3: long Horns.
- 2:58Speaker 1: I think they can beat the Long Horn. They need.
- 3:04Speaker 3: A few wins. Three would be good, ten and eight
- 3:08Speaker 3: would be good. That would make three and three in
- 3:11Speaker 3: their last six. I think that would get them in
- 3:16Speaker 3: sec CO Players of the Week Florida guards Xavian Lee
- 3:21Speaker 3: average twenty points, five assists, two and a half boards,
- 3:24Speaker 3: and two steals and wins at Georgia and against Kentucky.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Texas swingman Dalan Swain had twenty five to go with
- 3:34Speaker 3: six and to assist and two steals, and the Longhorns
- 3:39Speaker 3: win at Missouri on Saturday Night. Freshman of the Week again,
- 3:46Speaker 3: Darius a Cup twenty nine and a half points, six assists,
- 3:52Speaker 3: two rebounds and wins against LSU and Auburn. Top twenty
- 3:58Speaker 3: five ap tay Michigan is the new number one team.
- 4:04Speaker 3: They got all but one first place vote that went
- 4:08Speaker 3: to Houston. The Cougars are up to number two, ahead
- 4:12Speaker 3: of Duke. Arizona falls to four after losing two in
- 4:17Speaker 3: a row. Then Yukon, Iowa State, Purdue, Kansas, Nebraska, Illinois,
- 4:25Speaker 3: Gonzagas eleven, Florida's twelve, Tech is thirteen. Both Florida and
- 4:32Speaker 3: Tech underrated. Virginia fourteen, Michigan State, North Carolina, Saint John,
- 4:37Speaker 3: Saint Louis, Vanderbilt is nineteen. So you've got Florida twelve,
- 4:43Speaker 3: Vanderbilt at nineteen, Arkansas at twenty, and Alabama at twenty five.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Those are the four SEC teams in the top twenty five.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Over the weekend, Kansas State fired their basketball coach Jerome Teix.
- 5:00Speaker 3: They said they fired him according to cause Tang went
- 5:05Speaker 3: out on a rat after getting blown out by Cincinnati,
- 5:13Speaker 3: saying this was embarrassing. These dudes do not deserve to
- 5:17Speaker 3: wear this uniform. There will be very few of them
- 5:21Speaker 3: in it next season. I'm embarrassed for the university. I'm
- 5:25Speaker 3: embarrassed for our fans, our student section. It's just ridiculous.
- 5:31Speaker 3: I don't think they can fire him for cause there
- 5:36Speaker 3: will be a negotiation and a settlement. I believe theym
- 5:41Speaker 3: about eighteen Milski. The US women's hockey team beat Sweden
- 5:49Speaker 3: five to nothing today and a seventh gold medal showdown.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Would you make sure I'm saying it's canadabal. Would you
- 6:00Speaker 3: look on the Canada Switzerland game today in the semifinals.
- 6:06Speaker 3: I'm sure Canada won. The Americans have won two goals
- 6:10Speaker 3: in nineteen ninety eight and twenty eighteen, Canada won two
- 6:16Speaker 3: to one. Or is it still going We need to
- 6:19Speaker 3: watch that game is that that's probably on the main network.
- 6:24Speaker 3: So flip it to like twenty five, twenty three. Well,
- 6:29Speaker 3: I don't know what it is on. That would just
- 6:31Speaker 3: keep going up. Wow, it's close. That would be an
- 6:38Speaker 3: upset the US Men again quarterfinal play on Friday. The
- 6:45Speaker 3: Aggie baseball team swept three games over the weekend against
- 6:49Speaker 3: Tennessee Tech. Aiden Simms was really good yesterday. We are
- 6:54Speaker 3: going to hear from him coming up. Cad and Serell
- 7:02Speaker 3: is the player of the week in the SEC. Now
- 7:06Speaker 3: I don't want curling. Come on, you know what, I
- 7:10Speaker 3: bet it's on USA today. That's what I was watching
- 7:13Speaker 3: earlier today. So yeah, go down to fifty five. I
- 7:17Speaker 3: bet it's on USA.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Let's see.
- 7:22Speaker 4: It says it's talking in but it's snowboarding when you
- 7:25Speaker 4: click on it.
- 7:26Speaker 5: What's up with that?
- 7:27Speaker 1: Where's the hockey game? Anyway?
- 7:29Speaker 3: Caate and Serell is the SEC player of the week
- 7:33Speaker 3: in baseball. He was nine for fifteen, scored seven runs,
- 7:38Speaker 3: drove in ten hit three run hit three dingers, had
- 7:43Speaker 3: a walk, two stolen bases, and ran the bubble machine
- 7:49Speaker 3: during timeouts.
- 7:53Speaker 1: LJ.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Mercurius of Oklahoma is the co pitcher of the week
- 7:57Speaker 3: along with Dylan Valants of Texas. The Longhorn swept Ucee
- 8:03Speaker 3: Davis over the weekend. Valonts, who was the closer last week,
- 8:08Speaker 3: took a no hitter into the sixth inning retired fourteen
- 8:11Speaker 3: to the first sixteen. He face co freshman of the
- 8:14Speaker 3: Week Cord Rager of Oklahoma, Cash Strayer of Florida, Cordon Cash,
- 8:22Speaker 3: I like that sounds like a comedy team. The Aggie
- 8:26Speaker 3: baseball team will be back in action tomorrow evening hosting
- 8:32Speaker 3: A and M Corpus. That is a six o'clock game.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Our broadcast will begin at five forty five tomorrow afternoon,
- 8:45Speaker 3: and Thursday we have a shortened show for women's basketball.
- 8:50Speaker 3: We will be done at five point fifteen on Thursday.
- 8:55Speaker 3: All right, So that will catch you up a little
- 9:00Speaker 3: and let me get to this node here next week,

- 9:19Speaker 3: Dan and Laura as the auctioneers on Storage Wars. So
- 9:26Speaker 3: we will visit with them next week. Okay, we're going
- 9:31Speaker 3: to take a break. We're going to return to hoops
- 9:36Speaker 3: for a little bit. Then we're going to get a
- 9:39Speaker 3: little baseball in. Then we have the writers round table
- 9:43Speaker 3: coming up at five. This portion of the program is

- 10:49Speaker 7: Show weekdays on the Zone eleven fifty AM and ninety
- 10:52Speaker 7: three point seven FM.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Glad to have you with us on a Monday edition.
- 11:01Speaker 3: I haven't heard this brought up, and I doubt if
- 11:03Speaker 3: I'm going to hear it brought up, because they wouldn't
- 11:05Speaker 3: admit it if it's true. I thought a them looked
- 11:08Speaker 3: tired Saturday basketball. I didn't think their legs were underneath them.
- 11:16Speaker 3: I just thought they looked tired. And you know, it's
- 11:20Speaker 3: that time of year. There's a lot of upsets, there's
- 11:24Speaker 3: a lot of bad games.
- 11:31Speaker 1: You know. They were terrible shooting the ball.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Thirty nine percent from the field, eight of twenty nine
- 11:40Speaker 3: from the three, tell tale, five of ten from the
- 11:45Speaker 3: free throw line. In fairness, they didn't get to the
- 11:49Speaker 3: free throw line. They had twenty four fouls called against him.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Vanderbilt had sixteen. Vanderbilt is not the most physical team
- 12:09Speaker 3: in the world, for sure, but they're good. They're without
- 12:18Speaker 3: one of their best players, Miles Duke, guard transfer from Oklahoma.
- 12:27Speaker 3: We're gonna hear from their coach Park Byington coming up
- 12:30Speaker 3: here in a little bit. I just thought A and
- 12:33Speaker 3: M looked tired, and you know, I think part of
- 12:38Speaker 3: that is the schedule hasn't done them any favors. They
- 12:44Speaker 3: played the late game Wednesday night against Missouri and then
- 12:49Speaker 3: they had to travel and play the early game Saturday
- 12:52Speaker 3: morning against Vanderbilt. Now, look, there's no excuses. It's conference play.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Conference players grind. It's always a grind, and that's I mean,
- 13:07Speaker 3: that's the way it is, and it's not gonna get better.
- 13:15Speaker 3: They did get a Saturday Wednesday, of course, they had
- 13:19Speaker 3: to travel Saturday, didn't get home till Saturday night. I
- 13:24Speaker 3: think they probably got a day of rest Sunday or Monday.
- 13:28Speaker 3: I'm not sure how they do it. They need it.
- 13:35Speaker 1: They just weren't very good.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Ryland Griffin for the second game in a row, wasn't
- 13:40Speaker 3: very good.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Ruben Domingus and he.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Is in a bad slump. He was one for four
- 13:50Speaker 3: from three, one for six overall. Pop Isaacs only gave
- 13:57Speaker 3: him eight. I mean, Zach Clements was good again off
- 14:04Speaker 3: the bench. He didn't play nearly as many minutes he
- 14:09Speaker 3: and Ali Diva had nine were Shawn Age still battling eleven.
- 14:17Speaker 3: They did get more offensive rebounds, but they didn't convert
- 14:23Speaker 3: a lot. Only had eight second chance points. Vanny had fifteen.
- 14:29Speaker 3: They did have forty points in the paint. Vandy just
- 14:32Speaker 3: had twenty eight. You know, Vanny doesn't have a lot
- 14:36Speaker 3: of height. You know, I thought it was a good
- 14:39Speaker 3: batch up. I thought it was interesting to hear Bucky
- 14:42Speaker 3: afterward say he didn't think it was a good matchup analytically,
- 14:49Speaker 3: very brief because nobody at Venderbilt would ask him any questions.
- 14:53Speaker 3: But let's hear from Bucky's post game in Nashville right
- 14:58Speaker 3: after the game on Saturday.
- 15:00Speaker 4: Tough game.
- 15:01Speaker 8: We knew that that Vandy. You know, look at all
- 15:04Speaker 8: the metrics, this would be one of the hardest games
- 15:06Speaker 8: we had all year, coming in here and getting to win.
- 15:08Speaker 8: You're gonna win here versus a really good team. You're
- 15:10Speaker 8: gonna have to play you know, you have to play
- 15:12Speaker 8: a basketball We we we did not shoot the or
- 15:16Speaker 8: have a high enough percentage just set like that from
- 15:19Speaker 8: the field in this game to come out here with
- 15:21Speaker 8: the victory versus a good team unless they were gonna
- 15:23Speaker 8: have a really poor night, and they didn't have that.
- 15:25Speaker 8: They had a good offensive night in ways, and they
- 15:27Speaker 8: had a very good defensive night. You know, we we
- 15:31Speaker 8: for the game. You know, we were less than forty
- 15:34Speaker 8: percent from the field and less than thirty percent from
- 15:36Speaker 8: three and fifty from the free throw line. I thought
- 15:39Speaker 8: we had some shots around the rim that we normally
- 15:42Speaker 8: make for whatever reason, we just couldn't get it to
- 15:45Speaker 8: go down. We're a good free throw shooting team who
- 15:46Speaker 8: were a little bit better than that, And we had
- 15:48Speaker 8: some threes that we some of our guys usually usually make.
- 15:51Speaker 8: We didn't do that.
- 15:52Speaker 9: So to pull an up set.
- 15:53Speaker 8: On the road, you're probably gonna have to have to
- 15:55Speaker 8: do that. Free throw disparity was big. I'm not saying
- 16:00Speaker 8: that's you know, I'm going to read into that statement
- 16:02Speaker 8: too much. I got to see why that was. But
- 16:05Speaker 8: you know, when they got twenty nine free throws, we
- 16:07Speaker 8: got ten, you know, you know, you got to do
- 16:12Speaker 8: a better job of getting to the line, however that is,
- 16:14Speaker 8: and keeping them off the line. So I got to
- 16:17Speaker 8: see why we weren't getting to the line and evaluate that.
- 16:20Speaker 8: But it's hard to win when when they beat you
- 16:23Speaker 8: by eighteen points at the free throw line in a game.
- 16:25Speaker 8: So we usually are on the right side of that.
- 16:28Speaker 8: Usually getting to the line more. We weren't able to
- 16:30Speaker 8: tonight for whatever reason. To obviously put more points on
- 16:33Speaker 8: the board. We're not shooting well from.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Outside minus eighteen at the free throw line.
- 16:40Speaker 1: That's crazy. Vanderbelt had nineteen more attempts they had.
- 16:49Speaker 3: A and M was plus eight. The number of fouls.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Clements fouled out. Roland Griffin fouled out. Isaac's into the
- 17:01Speaker 3: game with four uh. Tyler Tanner, who almost never fouls,
- 17:07Speaker 3: did have to sit out about five or six minutes
- 17:11Speaker 3: in that second half, and A and M was unable
- 17:14Speaker 3: to make up any ground while he was gone. And
- 17:18Speaker 3: he's there, you know, he's their best player and leading scorer,
- 17:23Speaker 3: and yet he only scores four points. Now, he had
- 17:27Speaker 3: six assists, he had three steals, he had just one turnover.
- 17:32Speaker 3: He's a really nice player. He's an All conference caliber player.
- 17:37Speaker 3: But if you tell me going in, I mean, Miles
- 17:40Speaker 3: Duke has been out and Tyler Tanner only has four points,
- 17:44Speaker 3: I'm gonna say A and M is gonna win by
- 17:46Speaker 3: double digits, and of course they didn't. Tyler Nickel, we know,
- 17:55Speaker 3: is a good player. He's a good shooter. He was
- 17:58Speaker 3: five out eleven from three. I mean, Vanderbilt was only
- 18:03Speaker 3: nine of twenty nine. They didn't shoot the three very
- 18:07Speaker 3: well except for Nickel Akokaroke just killed him. He had
- 18:14Speaker 3: not been scoring like that. I think it was close
- 18:16Speaker 3: to a season high with twenty three points. So rebounding
- 18:22Speaker 3: was even. Aden was plus four on offensive rebounds. They
- 18:27Speaker 3: were minus two on turnovers. It just wasn't a very
- 18:35Speaker 3: good game. And again, I don't think Bucky's gonna say it.
- 18:42Speaker 3: I don't think anybody on the team is going to
- 18:44Speaker 3: say it. I'm just saying I thought they looked tired,
- 18:51Speaker 3: not Oklahoma State tired early in the year, but just
- 18:56Speaker 3: worn out. And you know, they got driven pretty good
- 19:02Speaker 3: against Missouri in terms of physical play and by the way,
- 19:07Speaker 3: good gosh. I watched some of the Missouri Texas game
- 19:11Speaker 3: and I thought, like last Wednesday night, Missouri, I said,
- 19:16Speaker 3: that's not only a tournament team, that's a team that's
- 19:18Speaker 3: gonna win games in the tournament. And then Texas goes in,
- 19:23Speaker 3: they have their first sellout of the year. They delay
- 19:27Speaker 3: the game twenty minutes because the officials can't get to
- 19:31Speaker 3: the arena because of traffic, and apparently there was a
- 19:35Speaker 3: wreck near the gym, so the place is jumping coming
- 19:43Speaker 3: off the win against A and M. And Texas goes
- 19:46Speaker 3: in and the score is not indicative. It was like
- 19:50Speaker 3: eighty five sixty eight. It was close to the whole
- 19:53Speaker 3: game until about the last three or four minutes.
- 19:55Speaker 1: But I'm just like, what is this team? Who?
- 20:02Speaker 3: That's not the team we saw at ried Arena Wednesday night.
- 20:07Speaker 3: That wasn't even close to the team we saw rit Arena.
- 20:14Speaker 3: And I'm going, what is the deal? And Texas doesn't
- 20:19Speaker 3: have great size. I mean, they've got the big guy
- 20:22Speaker 3: Foca Titis right in the middle and he's a nice player.
- 20:27Speaker 3: They don't have much help beyond that. They brought this
- 20:29Speaker 3: guy off the bench, Cody Something. Can you can you
- 20:33Speaker 3: look at that Tyler and see this kid Cody Something?
- 20:37Speaker 3: Nick Nick Cody? How many points did he score? He
- 20:41Speaker 3: scored like ten points or something like that. And he's
- 20:45Speaker 3: a big guy. And I'm going, this guy hasn't played
- 20:47Speaker 3: all year, but they had to play.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Huh. He had nine points.
- 20:52Speaker 3: He's averaging like two points a game and I don't
- 20:56Speaker 3: think he's played since January. They bring him in because
- 21:02Speaker 3: they need somebody to fight the big guys. It was
- 21:05Speaker 3: like Vincent and Clement's right. Wednesday night, they played a
- 21:09Speaker 3: lot of minutes because Missouri is huge. That's his conference play.
- 21:16Speaker 3: And Mark Byington is going to be vying with Bucky
- 21:22Speaker 3: at least for Coach of the Year in the SEC.
- 21:25Speaker 3: There'll probably be a couple others. This guy's been unbelievable.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Vanderbilt's a nice team. Hey, they're twenty one and four. Okay,
- 21:36Speaker 3: they're eight and four in the league. Right now. Here's
- 21:38Speaker 3: Byington after the win against A and M.
- 21:42Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean, every game's a venture in this league,
- 21:44Speaker 10: and some things you can prepare for and get ready for,
- 21:48Speaker 10: and some things are out of your control. And I
- 21:51Speaker 10: just thought our guys played exceptionally hard.
- 21:55Speaker 9: They were excited to play.
- 21:56Speaker 10: They had tremnious respect for Texas A and M and
- 21:59Speaker 10: what they've done so far in the SEC and their style.
- 22:02Speaker 10: And we kind of got off to a little bit
- 22:05Speaker 10: of a choppy start, but then I thought we really
- 22:08Speaker 10: played well. You know that probably the last thirty five
- 22:11Speaker 10: thirty six minutes with kind of like some some unusual
- 22:15Speaker 10: lineups out there. You know, I think I aged probably
- 22:19Speaker 10: ten years when Tyler Tanner was not in the court,
- 22:21Speaker 10: there and a team that presses you and traps you
- 22:24Speaker 10: and everything else. But it also shows other guys can
- 22:27Speaker 10: can make plays and handle the ball and just did
- 22:30Speaker 10: a lot of good things.
- 22:30Speaker 9: So you know, we're a complete team.
- 22:33Speaker 10: And the guys got each other's backs and they showed
- 22:36Speaker 10: that especially today.
- 22:39Speaker 11: Yeah, that stretch.
- 22:40Speaker 12: Where Tyler Tanner didn't play and you guys were able
- 22:42Speaker 12: to maintain the league. Just what does it say about
- 22:44Speaker 12: your team You were able to do that, especially with
- 22:45Speaker 12: all the pressure that types stayed in puts on you.
- 22:48Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean that's if you ever think of a
- 22:50Speaker 10: game that you do not you don't have them on
- 22:52Speaker 10: the court is probably the worst scenario. And I thought
- 22:55Speaker 10: our guys were poised and they handled that. We had
- 22:58Speaker 10: a couple of sloppy turnovers. They're really in the half court.
- 23:02Speaker 10: We had a ten second call. It probably was on me.
- 23:05Speaker 9: I knew we had four seconds to cross and I.
- 23:08Speaker 10: Had two tom outs left and I didn't know if
- 23:11Speaker 10: I could use one that situation. But at the same time,
- 23:15Speaker 10: we guarded in that segment and then we had some
- 23:17Speaker 10: timely offense. Guys finished some plays there where the end
- 23:21Speaker 10: of the shot clock or offensive rebounds.
- 23:22Speaker 9: That really helped us.
- 23:24Speaker 13: Coach, can you speak, you know, speak a little more
- 23:26Speaker 13: to the character of the team where you have you know,
- 23:28Speaker 13: obviously two key pieces in two miles and Frankie Collins
- 23:31Speaker 13: out and then Tyler Tanner is held at four points,
- 23:33Speaker 13: that you guys are still able to win by thirteen
- 23:34Speaker 13: points against the good team.
- 23:36Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean, you know, with Tyler Tanner, I still
- 23:39Speaker 10: thought he played well, and I got to watch the film,
- 23:42Speaker 10: but I remember him passing incredible in the first half.
- 23:45Speaker 10: And thus it's missing open shots or missing layups, and
- 23:49Speaker 10: he did a great job of handling their pressure and
- 23:51Speaker 10: gil going to get the ball and making decisions. But
- 23:55Speaker 10: it also, you know, it says we don't have He
- 23:58Speaker 10: didn't have to go out and get twenty for us
- 23:59Speaker 10: to win. And you know, other guys are capable. This
- 24:03Speaker 10: team celebrates each other. No one's happier in the locker
- 24:07Speaker 10: room than Tyler Tanner or anybody else. And and then
- 24:10Speaker 10: that's why I like this group. They care about winning,
- 24:13Speaker 10: they care about each other.
- 24:15Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 24:15Speaker 15: Coach Devin Maglockton's kind of moved into a power forward
- 24:18Speaker 15: position with.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Jayalen Washington in the starting line up. How's that freedom up?
- 24:21Speaker 4: He seems to be playing more open more on the perimeter.
- 24:24Speaker 4: What do you like with him in that position of
- 24:26Speaker 4: host to playing center.
- 24:27Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean really it's not that much of a
- 24:29Speaker 10: change with what he's doing on the court, But I
- 24:32Speaker 10: think what it helps him is is especially on the
- 24:35Speaker 10: rebounding where he usually has a smaller guy, and I
- 24:38Speaker 10: think he's able to. I mean, he plays so hard
- 24:39Speaker 10: and strong that he can change the game there. But
- 24:45Speaker 10: you know, we we can't play that lineup too much
- 24:47Speaker 10: right now. I like to play it more just because
- 24:49Speaker 10: our depth at the position or depth of other positions too.
- 24:52Speaker 9: But I like the way we start like that.
- 24:54Speaker 10: You know, Jalen Washington and then Devin they play well together,
- 24:57Speaker 10: and and and Devin could play small ball five or.
- 25:00Speaker 9: Play at the four and we can be successfully.
- 25:02Speaker 16: The way he shot out the other night tonight, I
- 25:05Speaker 16: think it was fifteen, it was twenty three in the
- 25:07Speaker 16: second half.
- 25:08Speaker 4: How big of a lift has he given you here.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Recently with his play?
- 25:12Speaker 9: Yeah? With ak, I don't think he ever, like his
- 25:17Speaker 9: heart rate ever gets above an accelerated rate.
- 25:21Speaker 10: I think he stays calm and cool, and he's just
- 25:23Speaker 10: he's just kind of at peace in his mind.
- 25:25Speaker 9: He goes at his own pace.
- 25:26Speaker 10: And whether it's a big three, which is hitting back
- 25:28Speaker 10: to back games, free throws or handling the pressure, he's
- 25:33Speaker 10: he's calm and poised, and I think it really helps
- 25:36Speaker 10: our team out. I think some other guys kind of
- 25:38Speaker 10: get wound up, and they can look at Ak and
- 25:40Speaker 10: then calms all of us down. But it's back to
- 25:42Speaker 10: back games with two huge threes, huge daggers.
- 25:47Speaker 4: Necessarily everybody said the game mark Tompaul's from.
- 25:51Speaker 17: But anyway, how then officials Tyler Nickel and Jill in
- 25:56Speaker 17: Washington have a prior relationship before coming here.
- 25:59Speaker 9: For Yeah, he said, how important was it?
- 26:04Speaker 10: Oh, you know, it's a great question. So when Jalen
- 26:11Speaker 10: Washington put his name in a transfer portal, Tyler Nickel really.
- 26:14Speaker 9: Did all the recruiting.
- 26:15Speaker 10: It was one of the easiest recruiting processes we had.
- 26:18Speaker 10: And and Tyler Nickel talked about his year last year
- 26:20Speaker 10: and experiences and Vanderbilt and how great it was and
- 26:24Speaker 10: and so they know each other, they're best friends.
- 26:26Speaker 9: They're not going to lie to each other.
- 26:28Speaker 10: So Jalen Washington actually committed before coming on a visit.
- 26:31Speaker 10: We were on a zoom call and I thought I
- 26:33Speaker 10: had to do this big old spiel, and he took
- 26:36Speaker 10: the heat off of me. He said him coming. He's
- 26:39Speaker 10: such a good person. He didn't have his best game tonight,
- 26:41Speaker 10: played great the game before.
- 26:43Speaker 9: But I wouldn't trade him.
- 26:45Speaker 10: He's he does so much for a team and and
- 26:47Speaker 10: their relationship is great.
- 26:48Speaker 9: And it always is one of those things.
- 26:50Speaker 10: Where you kind of treat people the right way and
- 26:52Speaker 10: do right by them. Hopefully things like that happened where
- 26:56Speaker 10: Tyler Nichols a lead recruiter for for Jalen Washington.
- 27:00Speaker 12: Yeah, it feels like Chandler Bing has been playing a
- 27:02Speaker 12: lot more recently. Do you feel like the game has
- 27:04Speaker 12: really just kind of slowing.
- 27:04Speaker 11: Down for him?
- 27:06Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean he's getting experience and in big games,
- 27:11Speaker 10: I think he's answered uh.
- 27:13Speaker 9: Like every time.
- 27:13Speaker 10: He's kind of getting expanded opportunity right now.
- 27:16Speaker 9: I mean we need him.
- 27:17Speaker 10: I mean sometimes we play him at the four position
- 27:19Speaker 10: and he guards that guy. I think he's done a
- 27:22Speaker 10: really good job on perimeter defense, and you look kind
- 27:25Speaker 10: of at some of our defense improvements and I think
- 27:28Speaker 10: a lot of times he's a big credit for that
- 27:30Speaker 10: what he does on the defensive end, and and situation
- 27:33Speaker 10: will find his offense. Madson free throws tonight, made a
- 27:36Speaker 10: three tonight and made other plays.
- 27:39Speaker 9: But he's just eighteen years old, so.
- 27:41Speaker 10: He's gonna keep getting better and better, and so we're
- 27:43Speaker 10: excited about him.
- 27:46Speaker 12: I mean, you guys were still shorthanded tonight. Do you
- 27:48Speaker 12: have any updates on the guys who were available.
- 27:52Speaker 10: Yeah, So, so Duke's getting Duke's attacking his rehab. He's
- 27:58Speaker 10: he's doing workouts things like that. He's competitive if he
- 28:03Speaker 10: wants to get back. He's being a great teammate. I
- 28:05Speaker 10: think we'll have him back soon. Hard to give a timetable,
- 28:07Speaker 10: but I think with within a week or two for sure.
- 28:11Speaker 10: And then Frankie, we changed things up with his his
- 28:14Speaker 10: treatment and his rehab plans and and then we're hoping
- 28:17Speaker 10: this kind of the change up helps him out. It's
- 28:20Speaker 10: a little bit uncertain with him, but but we're hoping
- 28:23Speaker 10: to get him back. But uh, Duke will be back
- 28:26Speaker 10: soon and we need him. He's he's uh it's hard
- 28:31Speaker 10: to coach without having him, so we need him back quickly.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Smart Byington, he's done an amazing job with his Vanderbilt program.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Really nice job coming up.
- 28:45Speaker 3: We're gonna transition in baseball a little bit. By the way,
- 28:49Speaker 3: Canada did hang on, uh they won two to one.
- 28:55Speaker 3: It will be Canada and US women for the gold
- 29:00Speaker 3: high noon Thursday. We may have to make some changes
- 29:08Speaker 3: in how I prepare for the show on Thursday, and
- 29:13Speaker 3: then the US men start Friday. I believe in the quarterfinals.
- 29:17Speaker 3: I think that's right. So we got that going on
- 29:20Speaker 3: for US and they've been okay so far. As they've
- 29:24Speaker 3: said they haven't played their best, it's been good enough.
- 29:29Speaker 3: And man, bring on the Canadians. They got Look, Finland
- 29:37Speaker 3: is going to be tough. It's not going to be easy.
- 29:41Speaker 3: They've got to get to the gold medal game first,
- 29:44Speaker 3: and so does Canada.
- 29:46Speaker 1: I think Canada'll be there.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Okay, take a break, We're going to talk a little baseball.
- 29:51Speaker 3: We're gonna hear from Michael Early coming up, and we've
- 29:55Speaker 3: got the writers round table at five o'clock.

- 33:31Speaker 3: Hey, thanks for hanging in with us on a Monday
- 33:35Speaker 3: edition President's Day. Some of you are working, some of
- 33:40Speaker 3: you aren't. We are working for you the listener. As always,
- 33:45Speaker 3: the Aggie baseball team three games sweep over the weekend,
- 33:50Speaker 3: and it's a nice stat Sixteen of the last eighteen seasons,
- 34:01Speaker 3: A and M has swept opening weekend. It's fifth straight. Now,
- 34:09Speaker 3: I will say that a lot of that has to
- 34:11Speaker 3: do with the opponents that come in on opening weekend
- 34:15Speaker 3: and I'm okay with that. They're gonna have their share
- 34:19Speaker 3: of games, especially when conference play starts. They won seven
- 34:27Speaker 3: to one yesterday with that good north wind blowing in.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Aiden Sims was really good. Caine, Serell, wesleyke Jordan combined
- 34:39Speaker 3: for seven hits. Clayton fresh Corn got to see him.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Three innings, two hits, four k's nice outing. Let's hear
- 34:50Speaker 3: from the coach, Michael Early after the weekend.
- 34:56Speaker 11: Aiden Sims six innings, one run, one hit. What did
- 34:58Speaker 11: you see from him today?
- 35:00Speaker 9: I thought he did a nice job.
- 35:01Speaker 16: I thought I thought he you know, they're somewhere in
- 35:03Speaker 16: the middle, little shaky, but he competed and got out
- 35:07Speaker 16: and found it. What is it about the fifth he
- 35:09Speaker 16: came back. Guy looked like he.
- 35:10Speaker 4: Had a brought the fresh air. He got back in there.
- 35:12Speaker 16: So that's what he's been doing all year.
- 35:14Speaker 1: He's been actually been.
- 35:15Speaker 4: Better than that in practice.
- 35:17Speaker 16: But I always define or judge pitchers on when it's
- 35:20Speaker 16: not perfect for them. Maybe maybe you walk a guy
- 35:23Speaker 16: or you miss a pitch, but you get back in it, right,
- 35:26Speaker 16: that's the definition of competing and pitching.
- 35:28Speaker 4: When he's on here, A lot of these guys are on.
- 35:30Speaker 16: They're gonna be really really good. So I thought he
- 35:32Speaker 16: you know, from a stuff standpoint, he was. He was
- 35:34Speaker 16: solid in and out. But from a competition standpoint, he
- 35:37Speaker 16: continued to compete the entire game and make pitches when
- 35:40Speaker 16: we needed to make pitches.
- 35:42Speaker 11: And then Clayton fresh scorn three and he's saved.
- 35:44Speaker 21: What does he provide this pitching staff because he can
- 35:46Speaker 21: go multiple innings, but he can also be a leverage guy.
- 35:49Speaker 11: What do you see prown?
- 35:50Speaker 16: Yeah, I mean just real Comcole put him in there. No,
- 35:52Speaker 16: he's gonna throw strikes. He's got really really good stuff
- 35:54Speaker 16: and he's able. You know, he can go on or
- 35:56Speaker 16: he's built up to go, you know whatever. Like he
- 35:58Speaker 16: can he can be longer, he can be sure and
- 36:00Speaker 16: through multiple times in a weekend. He's gonna be you
- 36:02Speaker 16: know as right now, he's gonna be that guy for
- 36:04Speaker 16: us and just someone you know, I think really built
- 36:06Speaker 16: off the end of last season and had a great
- 36:08Speaker 16: you know fall in spring camp and you did a
- 36:11Speaker 16: great job out there, not only competing but doing really
- 36:14Speaker 16: good stuff.
- 36:15Speaker 4: It's tough to hit, you know, just wins the side.
- 36:18Speaker 22: Just who's the thing where things that that police you
- 36:21Speaker 22: the most about a weekend in totality.
- 36:23Speaker 16: But I think just uh number one, we competed right,
- 36:26Speaker 16: like just what we want to be a gritty baseball team.
- 36:29Speaker 16: And it's like it's like when a guy hits a
- 36:32Speaker 16: ground ball to the second baseman, he tries to tag you,
- 36:34Speaker 16: like you you know, you play within the rules, but you.
- 36:36Speaker 11: Run through the guy.
- 36:37Speaker 16: It's just we want to be like that. And I
- 36:39Speaker 16: really liked our you know, we filled up to strike zone.
- 36:41Speaker 16: I really liked our plate discipline and how we swung
- 36:44Speaker 16: the backs. We want to be able to win in
- 36:46Speaker 16: any condition. So I don't want to I don't want
- 36:48Speaker 16: to sit here and talk about in a day like
- 36:50Speaker 16: there where we hit it really hard. You know, the
- 36:53Speaker 16: wind got it. You know, like how we played on
- 36:55Speaker 16: Friday would have played today maybe heston the balls in
- 36:57Speaker 16: all the park, but we had a lot of line drives,
- 37:00Speaker 16: a couple we got under popped out.
- 37:02Speaker 4: Same thing on Saturday. We just want to be a
- 37:04Speaker 4: complete team. We still spaces today.
- 37:06Speaker 16: Guys did a nice job. Every now and then a
- 37:09Speaker 16: lapse in the lineup, but one through nine fairly consistent.
- 37:13Speaker 16: On a day like today, you just got to keep coming,
- 37:15Speaker 16: keep coming, keep coming, And they did that we three.
- 37:17Speaker 23: Games in full weekend over how would you assess your
- 37:20Speaker 23: pitching staff how to look starts to.
- 37:22Speaker 14: Move in view.
- 37:23Speaker 13: I thought it looked good.
- 37:24Speaker 11: I thought it looked good.
- 37:24Speaker 16: I mean that was really the first game that we
- 37:27Speaker 16: really you know, I take that back Friday like big decision,
- 37:31Speaker 16: you know, bringing Dardening and then today decision bringing Clayton
- 37:34Speaker 16: in the middle. One was it was just you know,
- 37:36Speaker 16: we're getting some guys in there, and we think those
- 37:38Speaker 16: guys are gonna help us with a different score. So
- 37:40Speaker 16: I think, you know, Darden did his job and Fresh
- 37:42Speaker 16: did his job, so good job on their end, and
- 37:45Speaker 16: saw it starting pitching, I think all three of them
- 37:47Speaker 16: are better than.
- 37:48Speaker 4: What they showed first game.
- 37:49Speaker 16: Now we got to you know, get to the next
- 37:51Speaker 16: one after we get Tuesday, and that's what.
- 37:53Speaker 4: They got with Sims.
- 37:54Speaker 22: Just have you really seen them develop that slider this
- 37:57Speaker 22: offseason coming into this year.
- 37:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:59Speaker 16: Yeah, it's a really good pitch, really good pitch, and
- 38:01Speaker 16: when he's when he's commanding it and phone in the
- 38:03Speaker 16: zone when he wants and all his own when he wants,
- 38:05Speaker 16: it's a it's a really tough pisch to handle for
- 38:07Speaker 16: the other team. Let alone you know, squaring it up well,
- 38:10Speaker 16: but you know, hitting it in general.
- 38:13Speaker 14: The frids, taking care of business. It's probably overused in baseball,
- 38:16Speaker 14: but is there certain is there a dynamic of that
- 38:18Speaker 14: the guy just came in this week and just just
- 38:20Speaker 14: did what they had to do.
- 38:21Speaker 4: It at their job. All the way through they did
- 38:22Speaker 4: they did.
- 38:22Speaker 16: I was, you know, I was just I was, you know,
- 38:26Speaker 16: I think we scored more runs Friday a time on Saturday.
- 38:29Speaker 4: I was just more pleased with today than any of
- 38:31Speaker 4: those days.
- 38:31Speaker 16: Like they they did what they had to do, didn't
- 38:35Speaker 16: There's just no excuse, man, no excuse.
- 38:37Speaker 4: And they did their jobs.
- 38:38Speaker 16: Everyone did their job and they came in and yeah,
- 38:40Speaker 16: they took their business and that was good and they
- 38:42Speaker 16: got to continue to do it.
- 38:43Speaker 14: Colder kind of spoke, flowing and lead about the dugout culture.
- 38:46Speaker 14: Do you do you agree that this is a it's
- 38:48Speaker 14: a really good group counter Yeah.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Yeah, we got awesome guys.
- 38:51Speaker 11: We got awesome guys.
- 38:52Speaker 16: We uh, you know, we always have, always have since
- 38:55Speaker 16: I've been here. I think at A and M attracts
- 38:57Speaker 16: a certain type of kid, and we you know, we
- 38:59Speaker 16: want to we want we want to be a reflection
- 39:01Speaker 16: of what this place is in university when.
- 39:03Speaker 11: We got those type of guys.
- 39:04Speaker 16: So I think A and M is a definition of culture.
- 39:07Speaker 4: So yeah, i'd agree with that a lot. Chris was
- 39:10Speaker 4: sick today as that what was up with him? He
- 39:13Speaker 4: was just you know, yeah, he was.
- 39:14Speaker 16: He wasn't feeling right. It wasn't feeling right, and he'll
- 39:17Speaker 16: be fine. Well, you know, Tuesday, we'll see where he's at.
- 39:19Speaker 5: But nothing twenty two RBIs whether you're freshman in your transfers.
- 39:23Speaker 4: What can you say about this early kind of synergy?
- 39:25Speaker 20: Good?
- 39:26Speaker 16: Yeah, I mean guys again, like to get to get
- 39:29Speaker 16: an RBI, you must be in the situation at RB
- 39:31Speaker 16: I unless you had a solo home run and you
- 39:33Speaker 16: know that we probably left some out there, but just
- 39:35Speaker 16: doing your job when it's your time to do your
- 39:37Speaker 16: job and have to be those guys to come up.
- 39:39Speaker 16: And there's there's no drill for hitting with the guy
- 39:41Speaker 16: in scoring positions, about controlling your heart rate, not trying
- 39:44Speaker 16: to do too much, getting your pitch, hitting it hard
- 39:47Speaker 16: and hope you don't hit it right at that's all
- 39:49Speaker 16: you can do. And then when you do, you do
- 39:51Speaker 16: the same thing over and over again. As long as
- 39:54Speaker 16: you're doing everything right and you hope it happens that
- 39:57Speaker 16: time and they're doing.
- 39:58Speaker 4: Three games and you learn anything new a bunch of.
- 40:02Speaker 11: Today, like.
- 40:05Speaker 16: Yeah, you know, it's nothing new, right, Like they've been
- 40:07Speaker 16: doing this like I've never.
- 40:10Speaker 4: We felt extremely prepared.
- 40:11Speaker 16: We felt like this is a type of team we
- 40:13Speaker 16: were coming in and again, I think today speaks volumes
- 40:17Speaker 16: and it's a.
- 40:17Speaker 4: Step in the right direction.
- 40:19Speaker 16: We're going to stay that direction on who I think
- 40:21Speaker 16: we are eything else.
- 40:24Speaker 3: So that's Michael Hurley after the sweep forty five runs
- 40:29Speaker 3: by the Aggies over the weekend, and they will play
- 40:32Speaker 3: again tomorrow. I got say a nam Corpus six o'clock.

- 42:18Speaker 3: If you saw that Beetles documentary with Peter Jackson, then
- 42:23Speaker 3: you saw how that song was written, and it's like,
- 42:27Speaker 3: come on, man, nobody can do that. Well, guess what
- 42:34Speaker 3: Lennona McCartney could. I mean, that was just that that
- 42:40Speaker 3: probably stood out. Uh, that and George and Ringo Leaving
- 42:46Speaker 3: stood out more than anything in that documentary. Caine Cerell's
- 42:51Speaker 3: named the SEC Baseball Player of the Week.
- 42:56Speaker 1: A good call.
- 42:59Speaker 3: He was nine for fifteen, three homers, ten runs, batted in,
- 43:05Speaker 3: seven scored, a walk, two stolen bases, a twelve hundred
- 43:11Speaker 3: slugging percentage. I mean, have a weekend, Aiden Simms. He
- 43:22Speaker 3: was really good yesterday. Six innings, one hit, two runs,
- 43:28Speaker 3: two walks, seven strikeouts. First weekend start and he was
- 43:38Speaker 3: pretty good. Here's Aiden Simms after his outing.
- 43:42Speaker 21: Aiden, how did it feel to take the ball and
- 43:44Speaker 21: get a first start on a weekend for your first
- 43:46Speaker 21: time in your career?
- 43:47Speaker 15: Yeah, it was awesome. It's everything I dreamed of. I mean,
- 43:49Speaker 15: I've been working towards this since last year. Were gonna
- 43:50Speaker 15: start a couple of Tuesdays. Got a little banged up,
- 43:53Speaker 15: but it was good to get out.
- 43:54Speaker 4: There and start on the sun there.
- 43:55Speaker 21: Could you really talk about how you know, things got
- 43:57Speaker 21: a little shaky in the fourth but recentered in the fifth.
- 44:00Speaker 21: What change looking were the conversations like with whether it
- 44:03Speaker 21: was Sane or coach kell Er? What allows you to refocus?
- 44:07Speaker 15: And recently, yeah, JK came up to me and we
- 44:09Speaker 15: were talking about nerves. The nerves kind of got high
- 44:11Speaker 15: in the fifth or fourth, and uh, I got back
- 44:14Speaker 15: out there in the fifth, just had to calm down
- 44:15Speaker 15: and really center on my catcher in the fiddle of
- 44:17Speaker 15: the strike zone.
- 44:18Speaker 23: You know, a lot of guys sung your praises this
- 44:20Speaker 23: year and said that, you know, giving this chance, you
- 44:22Speaker 23: were gonna run with it. What was the preparation link
- 44:24Speaker 23: in the offseason and preseason in the game.
- 44:26Speaker 4: To this point, Yeah, it was.
- 44:27Speaker 15: It was awesome. I came back early from Christmas break
- 44:30Speaker 15: to come out here and left with Mac. He decided
- 44:33Speaker 15: to go simmer ways, but he was a really big
- 44:35Speaker 15: part of it.
- 44:36Speaker 4: And then Nate's been nothing but awesome with me.
- 44:38Speaker 15: So having those two guys in the weight room have
- 44:40Speaker 15: been at matey.
- 44:42Speaker 11: Just on the mound too, would have been some of
- 44:44Speaker 11: the biggest things You've been able.
- 44:45Speaker 4: To develop maybe in your arsenal that has allowed you.
- 44:47Speaker 11: To descend to this kind of role.
- 44:49Speaker 4: Uh, sweeper has been a really good pitch for me.
- 44:51Speaker 15: I've been working with that in the bullpen, and the
- 44:54Speaker 15: cutter has been an awesome pitch for me.
- 44:55Speaker 4: It's got up a lot.
- 44:56Speaker 15: Of below shapes, great and able to command every picture
- 44:59Speaker 15: in this art.
- 45:00Speaker 11: You throw a sweeper more than a slider.
- 45:02Speaker 4: Yeah, it's more of a sweeper.
- 45:03Speaker 15: It's not traditional slider, but I try to throw it
- 45:07Speaker 15: more of a sleeper, but sometimes it turns into like
- 45:08Speaker 15: a more deputy.
- 45:09Speaker 4: But if it's a sweeper, it's on.
- 45:10Speaker 21: It's really good rules the work done to help develop
- 45:13Speaker 21: that pitch, and then also the cutter as well.
- 45:17Speaker 4: Just throwing with different guys.
- 45:18Speaker 15: I've got most of my pitch grips from throwing with
- 45:20Speaker 15: different guys and everything. I've got Wesson's small sweeper grip
- 45:23Speaker 15: and just a cutter. It's kind of just off center fastball,
- 45:26Speaker 15: but throwing with different guys, learning what they do right,
- 45:28Speaker 15: what works for them, is really helpful.
- 45:30Speaker 22: Yeah, what point of the offseason do you really feel
- 45:32Speaker 22: comfortable feature this pitches.
- 45:34Speaker 11: That you're really all right, this is really coming along.
- 45:37Speaker 15: I felt comfortable with most of them last year, but
- 45:40Speaker 15: it was the command a little bit early in the spring,
- 45:44Speaker 15: like the inner squads and stuff. I really felt comfortable
- 45:47Speaker 15: throwing all pickings for strikes because they would call any
- 45:49Speaker 15: count three to zero, sweeper two, heater up anything.
- 45:52Speaker 4: I feel like I can throw anything.
- 45:54Speaker 23: You know, koreer high and innings, give up one run
- 45:56Speaker 23: and your coat says, your best stuff are still ahead
- 45:57Speaker 23: of you. What kind of did that confidence do for?
- 45:59Speaker 15: You can just get Yeah, it's awesome. The guys know
- 46:03Speaker 15: that it wasn't my best, but I still had to
- 46:05Speaker 15: go out there.
- 46:05Speaker 4: He didn't have my best stuff.
- 46:07Speaker 15: I could command the fastball way better than what I
- 46:09Speaker 15: have been, but the best stuff is still get to come.
- 46:12Speaker 22: T K said, he gives you a hard time a
- 46:14Speaker 22: lot for getting to double off of you in summer ball.
- 46:16Speaker 4: How many times you get him out during the fall.
- 46:19Speaker 15: I honestly don't know, but that that hitting in summer.
- 46:23Speaker 4: Was double torpo.
- 46:26Speaker 15: It was a torpedo bat knockover first base that with
- 46:30Speaker 15: his speed, he's gonna get to second base.
- 46:31Speaker 4: So I mean any other guy.
- 46:32Speaker 15: I mean it was like forty eight off the bat
- 46:35Speaker 15: and maybe so it was a good time to hang
- 46:38Speaker 15: out with him in the summer and putch against him.
- 46:41Speaker 3: All right, that's uh, that's at and sibs uh really
- 46:46Speaker 3: nice outing. The arms showed up for the most part,
- 46:54Speaker 3: and you do normally. They say pitching is ahead of
- 46:58Speaker 3: hitting this time of year. I don't know if if
- 47:03Speaker 3: the aggie hitters are behind, it's going to be a
- 47:05Speaker 3: really good year. If if Kaidan Cerell wasn't the SEC
- 47:11Speaker 3: player of the week, Weslake Jordan might have been. He
- 47:16Speaker 3: was seven for nine, seven runs, four ribbis, five walks.
- 47:26Speaker 1: Decent, right, decent. Here's Wesley Jordan's afterward.
- 47:32Speaker 11: How do you summarize your weekend as a whole.
- 47:35Speaker 17: I'm just trying to stay calm in the box and
- 47:38Speaker 17: not do too much and just what the game happen
- 47:41Speaker 17: as it does.
- 47:41Speaker 21: How did the offensive approach today differ from the first
- 47:44Speaker 21: two days considering.
- 47:46Speaker 17: The conditions today, I mean, even if you hit it
- 47:49Speaker 17: as hard as you can, it's still probably not going
- 47:51Speaker 17: to get out some left, So you really want to
- 47:52Speaker 17: focus on going to that backside and just get it
- 47:55Speaker 17: hard and low.
- 47:56Speaker 4: And hoping for hits that.
- 47:58Speaker 22: One player you know, been around the block. But what
- 48:02Speaker 22: maybe please you the most about the way y'all were
- 48:04Speaker 22: able to go about your business this weekend.
- 48:07Speaker 17: I just enjoy that every every guy on the team
- 48:10Speaker 17: has extreme talent, and I trust everybody out there, So
- 48:14Speaker 17: it's it's really nice just playing with them.
- 48:17Speaker 4: With enjoying being with those guys.
- 48:20Speaker 21: Gonna talk to Kayden about the stolen base, attempting the
- 48:22Speaker 21: aid take the bet out of your hand, baby.
- 48:24Speaker 4: Oh no, they're trying to help me out. They're trying
- 48:26Speaker 4: to give me another RBI.
- 48:27Speaker 17: So I'm not I'm not ann said about it?
- 48:30Speaker 3: Is that?
- 48:30Speaker 22: Is that about as good as a designated hitter can
- 48:33Speaker 22: do in a designated hitter roll over.
- 48:35Speaker 4: A weekend series? I guess so. I mean, you're you're
- 48:38Speaker 4: there to hit, So why did that I hit this weekend?
- 48:41Speaker 14: Any challenges after a you know, fun, you know, big
- 48:44Speaker 14: opening day weekend and sort of settling down in a
- 48:46Speaker 14: Tuesday mid week.
- 48:48Speaker 4: I mean, you're not gonna hit whatever forever. I mean,
- 48:51Speaker 4: that's not how baseball is.
- 48:52Speaker 17: So you've got to be ready for it and just
- 48:55Speaker 17: stay stay calm, stay level.
- 48:57Speaker 23: With it, upstand and dash you're typically in your career,
- 49:00Speaker 23: you know, starting season series, do you ever get this.
- 49:02Speaker 4: Hot, you know, come up the you know eventually got
- 49:05Speaker 4: so hot or.
- 49:06Speaker 17: Actually I used to be a really slow starter, and
- 49:09Speaker 17: then last year I had a good opening series and this.
- 49:11Speaker 4: Year so the good open.
- 49:15Speaker 3: Twestly Jordan, Yeah, pretty good start. And the other thing
- 49:21Speaker 3: realistic enough to know probably not gonna have double digit
- 49:27Speaker 3: hits every game, and they get another chance tomorrow. The
- 49:35Speaker 3: wind is gonna turn tomorrow. It's gonna be back from
- 49:39Speaker 3: the south, which will be good. You love that south
- 49:43Speaker 3: wind if you're a hitter. You love the north wind
- 49:46Speaker 3: if you're a pitcher. It was blowing yesterday for sure,
- 49:52Speaker 3: and looks good, looks good tomorrow.
- 49:57Speaker 1: I've got.
- 50:00Speaker 3: Where's modelists go here? I've got lots. Oh no, that's basketball.
- 50:05Speaker 3: We don't care about that. I think it's over here.
- 50:09Speaker 3: I've got so many papers. By the way, Mike Elko
- 50:13Speaker 3: spoke to the media today, I'm getting ready for spring.
- 50:18Speaker 1: We will hear from him tomorrow.
- 50:21Speaker 3: If you were paying attention, we were on the zone
- 50:26Speaker 3: with him today, But we'll we'll hear some of what
- 50:32Speaker 3: he had to say tomorrow. I just talked to Dusty
- 50:35Speaker 3: I've got the transcripts of the main things that he had.
- 50:42Speaker 3: This is what I was looking for besides A and
- 50:45Speaker 3: M Corpus. Tomorrow, five point forty five start here. Penn
- 50:51Speaker 3: is here for the weekend. That's the IVY League team
- 50:55Speaker 3: Penn Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Again, five forty five start on Friday,
- 51:03Speaker 3: two o'clock Saturday, one o'clock Sunday. Then the following Tuesday
- 51:11Speaker 3: is lamar and then they go to Arlington for the
- 51:16Speaker 3: Baseball Classic. They will play Virginia Tech, u Seela, Arizona State. Okay,
- 51:28Speaker 3: so you get to see somebody in different parts, different leagues.
- 51:33Speaker 3: UCLA of course good. I don't know about Arizona State
- 51:37Speaker 3: this year. Scotland didn't. Will tell me that on Wednesday
- 51:41Speaker 3: if they're any good. But they start with AID at
- 51:44Speaker 3: home and then they go up to Arlington. Then they'll
- 51:49Speaker 3: go back to home. I mean, conference play starts early.
- 51:54Speaker 3: You're looking at that. It's like, man, are you kidding me?
- 51:58Speaker 9: That's a.
- 52:00Speaker 3: You got to get ready. I mean, we all know
- 52:04Speaker 3: about the league. You got to get ready and ready quickly.
- 52:08Speaker 3: Got to play through weird weather, got to play through delays.
- 52:14Speaker 3: Amazing though they got all three games in this weekend
- 52:18Speaker 3: because they moved that game up to eleven.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Very smart.
- 52:22Speaker 3: Usually the weathermen have no clue what's going on, but
- 52:28Speaker 3: they were relatively close this weekend, and they did get
- 52:32Speaker 3: the game in, and it did try out for them
- 52:37Speaker 3: on Sunday, albeit again, but hey, this time of year,
- 52:43Speaker 3: sixty degrees take that right in February, We'll take sixty
- 52:50Speaker 3: degrees for a baseball game. Great weather Friday night, Saturday
- 52:57Speaker 3: certainly wasn't bad in terms of temperature, and then Sunday
- 53:03Speaker 3: again a little cool with the north wind, but sixty degrees, yeah,
- 53:08Speaker 3: we'll take that. Oliver Brothers has been part of our
