• 0:17
And we sat at the River West Milk Bar trying to make our baraziduks what to do with the evening.
• 0:24
The Nut Factory Milk Bar sold Milk Plus, Milk Plus Feliset, or Synthamesc, or Weekly Dose of Fat, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.
• 0:42

• 1:13
we have one of the fastest ladies of fat bike racing, April Morgan. Sven's gonna talk about Summit, travel talk, beer with beards,
• 1:25
and we'll be taking calls to qualify listeners to win a Megalith from State Bicycle Company. You just got your Megalith to test, didn't you? Yeah. Yes, I have. I've been rolling around today- [laughs]...
• 1:36
start making excuses for adventures. [laughs] It looked really good in the snow 'cause it's very colorful. Yes. Yeah, that's gonna be a very photogenic bike. Photogenic. You know what we got now?
• 1:47
Beards and beer, beards and beer. Beards and beer. Beards and beer. So, I made up this, uh, I made up a, I made up a skit. Do tell- [laughs]... about your skit making. All right.
• 1:58
We're all gonna look at the person to the left and say one word about their beard. Okay. And then after that- Well... we're gonna look to the person on our right and say one word about their beard. All right.
• 2:13
And then that's gonna be that person's lumbersexual Northwoods name. I got a pen 'cause I don't think I'll remember mine. [laughs] You go. It's, it's not like we're recording this or anything.
• 2:27
[laughs] So, I'm gonna go, uh, striped chop. [laughs] All right. Okay. I'm going resplendent
• 2:46
wavery. [laughs] I see the wavery. Resplendent. Okay. And I am gonna go manly and straggly.
• 3:03
[laughs] So who gets what name? [laughs] [laughs] That's where I get lost. That's why he wrote them down. Well, JK is like Manly Chop. Manly Chop, what a good lumbersexual name. Hey.
• 3:16
In a plaid jacket and a name like that, you'd be a legend. [laughs] Yeah, you could be either Straggly Resplendent or Resplendent Straggly. Oh, Resplendent Straggly. I've got, uh- [laughs] Alphabetical after all...
• 3:29
[laughs] s- striped wa- wavery, ly, wai- w- what? Striped Waverly. I can't, I can't... Striped Waverly. Or- It looks wavy, but Waverly... Wavy Striped. Wavy Striped. Or Waverly- I can't read my own writing, so...
• 3:42
Waverly Striped would be nice. There you go. A gentleman lumberjack name.
• 3:47
[laughs] Well, that's the beard segment of the show, and everybody knows that we have to have a sponsor for each segment, so today's beard report is brought to you by Otter Wax Beard Oil.
• 4:01
Visit, visit otterwax.com for all of your beard and underarm hair products. They make products do underarm hair? Oh, they make something else though. I can't remember what it was. I just made up the underarm product.
• 4:16
So I suppose you could oil your, your pit, your pit hair. [laughs] You can braid it. I don't know why you couldn't oil it. [laughs] So they had, [laughs] they had this thing out in, uh, in, uh, Jackson, a shirt.
• 4:30
You know, they've got all the T-shirts. Mm-hmm. It had a bear head and a deer back- And it said beer... and it was called a beer. I never saw that before. How clever is that?
• 4:38
[laughs] You must not be traveling the, the internets as much as- No, I don't, I guess... as I do. That's, that's smart. So what, what do we have for beer today, Randy? Randy. We've got Founder's All Day IPA in your can.
• 4:54
In my can. Oh, it comes in cans. In my can. It's a session ale. [tab pops] There it is. It's in a green can. It's got, it's got a wood sided Jeep Wagoneer on it. [tab pops] [burps] That'd be a sweet ride right there.
• 5:09
I wonder if any of those are still around that aren't all rusted out. How about it? Hmm. Mm. That's why we're normalizing relations, so we can get all those kick-ass vehicles they have down there. Ooh.
• 5:25
Kind of a little, uh, citrusy or something. Half citrus and half pine. And yeah. [laughs] And just a- Zero apricots... and just a- Zero apricots... just a tinge of almost weed-esque flavor.
• 5:39
Says All Day IPA and- Yeah, well, if I have 4.7, I could do that. Yeah. I mean- Just like a regular beer... medium, yeah. And it doesn't taste like a- Rotten-... beer water... beer water. No, beer water is bad...
• 5:51
beer, beer water fuel, which is fine. Founder's is good... exactly what it needs to be. This is definitely not that. This is crazy. 42 IBUs. Oh, that one. So says the can. That's the- [laughs]...
• 5:59
International Bitterness Unit. So- So says the can... oh, wow. [laughs] So say we all. Remember, remember- I wasn't ready. Anyone know that Remember, uh, [laughs] remember all your ex-girlfriends?
• 6:14
[laughs] Each one was a bitterness unit. [laughs] Click bank or click farm. 42 ex-girlfriends in each can. [laughs] Yeah. That's not- Well, there- Well, that's...
• 6:26
Fortunately, that's not very many girlfriends, so it's not that bitter. Exactly. Right. Just bitter enough. [laughs] Well, I got 87 on the ye- ye old beer advocate. Is that the very good, I believe?
• 6:39
That is at the very good level. The very good level? It's 5,400 ratings exactly. Exactly 54, not even rounding- And it was-... up or down... on sale at my local supermarket for- It's good. I like it. It's good...
• 6:51
like $16.99 for a 12-pack. Well, thank you for bringing it. It's tasty brew. And I obviously drank six of them before I brought them here, so. [laughs] You know how that go.
• 7:07
So you know what comes after the beer segment? Mm. That's- I- interview segment? The guest spot. You know who we got this week? Do tell. I do. I do, I do. [laughs] We have our special guest coming up, April Morgan.

When I'm not riding the bike or in the shop, I'm listening to Fat Bike Radio. Please welcome to the show 45 North pro rider, April Morgan. Welcome to the radio program, April. April is- Hey, thanks for having me, guys.
• 8:15
Yeah, right on, April. So you're the current points leader in the Great Lake Fat Bike Race Series. How's that going? Yeah, it's, um, going well so far.
• 8:24
There's been, um, three races so far this season, and I have managed to, uh, win two of them so far, so leading the series, but, but only by a slight margin, um, that's for sure. Yeah, I, I checked the website.
• 8:38
Five points between you and Danielle Musto. That's, uh, that's pretty close. Yeah, it's, uh, it's definitely a, a close series so far, um, and different from last year.
• 8:50
So last year, um, I actually didn't make the trips out to Michigan, so to talk a little bit about the first three races of the, the year so far, um, first one was at the Festus Chase that, that took place here in St.
• 9:03
Croix Falls. Uh, second race was Fat Chance, which was up in Traverse City, which is, which is a pretty long drive for me.
• 9:11
And then, and then the third race was m- was just recently in Grand Rapids, and, uh, that was the Avance Brewery Farm Hunt Race. Mm-hmm.
• 9:20
And actually ended up staying with a fellow teammate and competitor, Danielle Musto, at, at her place. So, um, she put me and my husband up for the weekend. And so certainly, you know, it's kind of interesting.
• 9:32
I think Danielle is somebody that really, um, got me excited about the sport of fat biking a couple years ago, and, you know, she's kind of taken me under, [laughs] under her wing a bit.
• 9:41
I'm real excited about the series, and, um, this is the first year that I've actually made a commitment to, to really target going after all, all eight of the races.
• 9:50
And so it's certainly a, probably the biggest, the biggest challenge in, in trying to find a way to put together all of the travel and, and whatnot.
• 9:58
But certainly, it's certainly a, a friendly, um, competitive environment and it's...
• 10:03
[laughs] It, it was fun being in her hometown and, uh, you know, her mechanic's joking about how they're gonna mess with my bike and, you know, things like that. So certainly a [laughs] friendly, playful competition.
• 10:14
And, uh, we've just developed a pretty big friendship over the last few years, and even have had a chance to race some team races in the summer, the, the Lost Isle 12 Hours.
• 10:22
So certainly she is my toughest competition, but, but one of the, the thing that's really neat about, about the series this year is, you know, is really the growth in the women's field.
• 10:31
Um, I think, you know, a couple years ago, the first, first year or so, there might be, I don't know, three, four of us women at one of these races, and now it's, it's pretty commonplace to have a stacked field of, you know, five to 10 women that, that toe the line and, and seeing some of the, the biggest women's fields that, that we've seen, especially for fat bike racing.
• 10:50
So it's, it's been fun so far and, uh, we're really only three, three races in. We have five, four still to go. Right on. So the race series moves to your home state of Minnesota for the next few races.
• 11:01
Do you feel better about racing closer to home? You know, chasing the championship involves a lot of serious winter travel. How's that work for you? Yeah, I know.
• 11:09
It, it's definitely, um, a relief to be racing closer to home. Um, the race this coming weekend is, um, the Time Cycle Fat Tire Loppet, which actually is in, in Minneapolis, which is pretty much my hometown.
• 11:21
So [clears throat] I'm really looking forward to sleeping in my own bed on, on a Saturday night, and, and certainly that, that does have... It does put me at ease a little bit.
• 11:30
I, I like the fact that we're able to go on the road here, um, in January and manage to win one of those races. It's, it's definitely difficult, so I think the travel definitely takes its toll.
• 11:42
Um, certainly just, not just from the, the time in the car perspective, but just really trying to, you know, manage to get in good training between the races. It's a really compact race season.
• 11:53
So, so there's just some challenges in that, in that travel aspect of it and, and definitely one by me going into, you know, being willing to kind of chase the series this year and, um, but yeah, certainly now this coming weekend will be close to home and then the following weekend's Cuyuna Lakes Whiteout, which is in Crosby, Minnesota, and so that, that's only about a few hours for me.
• 12:13
And, and then the next race after that, which is... So it'll be three weekends in a row... is, uh, the Frozen 40, which, which is, is back here in, in pretty much the Minneapolis area.
• 12:22
So it's certainly an advantage for me to be close to home. It makes the, the travel stress less and, you know, able to kind of rejuvenate in between races a little bit more.
• 12:31
So definitely, definitely happy to, to be here in Minneapolis for, or at least in Minnesota for the next few weeks. Well, cool.
• 12:39
The way the series looks since it's so, uh, so tight right now, it looks like it's gonna come down to the last race, which is the Fat Bike Birkie in Cable.
• 12:48
Does it make it more difficult to, uh, prepare for a race course that you really can't preview until the day of the race?
• 12:55
Um, you know, that's, that's actually a, a pretty interesting question, and I absolutely love Fat Bike Birkie. It was, it was by far my, my favorite race last year.
• 13:03
It was, the course conditions, like you said, I had no idea going into the race.
• 13:08
Everybody said it's super fast, the course is amazing, but [laughs] you know, even up until the point of, of race morning, like, I'd never ridden on those trails.
• 13:17
Um, plenty of times in the summer but, but never in the winter. So I don't ski, so [laughs] I certainly hadn't, had never skied on those trails either.
• 13:24
Yeah, so it, it is, it was, it was interesting going into it and, um, you know, but I think it kind of adds to the adventure and, and really when I think about fat bike racing and, you know, and just all the travel that's involved, it, it's actually pretty rare that, that I do get the opportunity to, to ride a course, uh, before, before the race day.
• 13:42
It's, it's certainly an advantage to be able to, to be able to kind of know the course, but,
• 13:48
um, you know, I think it, it actually levels the playing field a bit at a race like Fat Bike Birkie where everybody kind of goes into the race having that, you know, that same kind of, you know, you're all kind of starting in the same spot.
• 13:58
You don't have a few people, few local people that, you know, have ridden on the course a ton.
• 14:02
It, it really kind of levels the playing field and yeah, I like that component of it and, you know, you kind of, you don't really know what's around the next corner and, you know, to be viewed as a, as an athlete in the race is to kind of ride on the edge a little bit more and take some more risks and, you know, I kind of enjoy that, that aspect of it.
• 14:17
But, you know, certainly Fat Bike Birkie this year will, you know, w- could very well be, um, you know, the series decider.
• 14:23
I think, you know, if you have a series and situation where you use tiebreaker, that, that is the final race and, uh, um, it's a hilly one, which, uh, certainly, um, makes it challenging.
• 14:34
But, but it's also a, a very fast course and, you know, you can really put down a lot of power in, in a race like that.
• 14:39
So I'm definitely looking forward to, to Birkie, but [laughs] uh, I think we got, yeah, another four races until then.
• 14:46
So [laughs] it's kind of interesting to think about it 'cause it's only, I don't know, six weeks away, but, but we've still got another five races in the series left, so. Cool.
• 14:55
Winter goes by fast these days, that's for sure. [laughs] Yeah. Time flies when you're having fun, right? Right on, April.
• 15:01
I'll, good luck with the races leading up to the Birkie and, uh, I'll be up there covering that for our illustrious, uh, website here.
• 15:09
So I hope we can, uh, meet in person, and, uh, maybe do a little chit-chatting up there, and thanks for joining us on the show today. Oh, cool. Yeah. You ought to come have a beer at the after party. Awesome.
• 15:18
It'll be at the- I'll just have one beer. The season will be over, right? [laughs] Right, right.
• 15:22
I think this year the party's at the Sawmill in Seeley, so it'll be nice centrally located there and, uh, l- we'll look for you, hopefully on the podium. Right on. Well, thanks for being on the show, April.
• 15:33
[laughs] Oh, of course. Yeah, that, that sounds awesome. Thank you, guys. Appreciate it. No problem. Bye. Bye. You're tuned to Fat Bike Radio. Hi. This is Sonia Looney from Fatbike.
• 15:47
When I daydream, I dream of long rides on powder and the weekly dose of fat with Sven and Gomez. Hey, welcome back to the radio program. Here's Sven, with a little recap of the Global Fatbike Summit. Yep.
• 16:03
I didn't wanna leave Jackson Hole at all. [laughs] That place is great. I'd love to live out there for at least two months a year. I asked the dumbest question yesterday, too. I was like, "Did you have a good time?"
• 16:14
Yeah, no, yeah, I did. Yeah. How was your trip? I mean, you know, it was a l- [laughs] A lot of it was bike oriented, which is great, and there was a lot of good riding, which is great.
• 16:22
The mountains are something you just can't get anywhere- Right... but there that are as splendiferous as those mountains are. That is a rather, uh, picturesque range of mountains.
• 16:31
I was, th- when I was flying in, it was clear, and right out the window it was like, bam, right in your face. There's the re- there's a reason why the Spaniards named them after tits. Titas. The Spaniards?
• 16:43
[laughs] Or, or these French peoples? One of these guys. [laughs] It was, well, I thought it was the Spaniards. Could've been. But- Could've been fur trappers, too, though... Las Titas. [laughs] Titas. Grande. Grande.
• 16:55
Yeah. Yeah, so, you know, it was a, it was a day of, uh, land manager meetings and, uh, the, the, I think the real take home for me f- from that whole land manager thing was
• 17:06
two years, three years ago nobody had really done any planning yet.
• 17:09
They started planning, then they started implementing, and this year there were finally some success stories about how these people have gained access for us to go riding in special places, and they're working hard to get us into really special places like the national parks.
• 17:25
We did go on a ride in a national park, granted it was on a pa- uh, it was on a snow-covered road. Basically it had been plowed but not traffic driven on it. Mm-hmm.
• 17:36
And it was right at the base of the mountains, so y- y- if the clouds hadn't been there, it would've been kickass view.
• 17:41
Wildlife around, but it's a first step and I think the rangers see all these tours that these guys are doing out there and the interest in fat bikes, and I think it's making an impact.
• 17:52
There were, there was actually a person from the national park at the summit and was en- enthusiastic. And it is a low impact silent sport. Absolutely. I saw these really cool tracks right aro- along the Powerline Trail.
• 18:05
You know, the power lines? Mm-hmm. I thought, it was two tracks from, like, a big tracked machine. I'm like, "That's the next step. Let people go out," 'cause you can go where motorized traffic is. That's motorized.
• 18:16
Maybe that's the next step, is to be able to ride those power lines because I drove in that valley to the end of every single road
• 18:25
And you can't go any further [laughs] because there's only one way out of there, well, two ways out. Mm-hmm. Um, and oth- all the other roads are closed, and that whole huge area is closed to motorized traffic mostly.
• 18:36
Some of it's open to snowmobiles and whatnot. But, uh, you know, and then they had the expo, which was really cool. There was a lot of people there, and short track fat bike racing, which is super crowd-friendly.
• 18:47
Uh, some good pub crawl, you know, comradery. And, uh, I would recommend, you know, next year if you have the opportunity to go, go as a spectator or as a participant in the expo.
• 18:59
You know, it's not just for people planning. It was really kind of a, uh, a big happy fat fest- Awesome, man... with beer. Yeah. And a lot of good beer, boy, I tell you what.
• 19:10
[laughs] They know how to make beer there in Jackson Hall. [laughs] Well, Wes, they, they, uh, they got it down. Yesterday on the website [laughs] we had a report on the beer of, uh, of the summit. Right.
• 19:23
Hey, but- So JK, you said you were gonna go do a, uh, race on the south side... South Sayid. South Sayid. Uh, yeah, the Fatty Ushgoob, Fatty Ushgoob at Kosciushko, I think I'm pronouncing that right.
• 19:35
Where'd they even get that name? It's a Polish general thing. Uh, oh, Kosciuszko. There you go. Yeah. I can't... I, everyone says it and I can never get it right. Yeah, I see. You know?
• 19:44
And then in the 10th and, 10th and Lincoln in Milwaukee zone. In the bottle. Yeah. Yes, sir. Yeah.
• 19:52
There was a lot of, uh, I stupidly had arrived from a different side of the park as the race was going on, the solo race, and ended up doing a little bit of my own off-roading [laughs] on my road bike.
• 20:04
And, uh, [laughs] I wasn't really thinking about it, but, yeah, they, I mean, there was parts of that park that they're gonna have to really readdress. But that, that happens a lot in cyclocross situations. Yeah. Yeah.
• 20:16
And you'd be surprised how- But it's just how-... resilient grass is... I mean, just, just the, just, just the location that the park is in- Yeah... and the condition that it was in, it needs some sod.
• 20:25
[laughs] We've got another- They were doing the thing for it, but yeah, it was, it was a good, a cool event. And you and Lons heckled racers. We tried. We tried to, we tried to do a little bit of heckling.
• 20:36
[laughs] I mean, it was just a nice event, so you feel, felt kind of bad if you're gonna make somebody... Uh, some people ate it in really weird places. What was, what was the chant?
• 20:44
It was, "Kits and carbon," or something like that. [laughs] In the stream. And lots of hugging. Yeah. And hugging, yes, for the relay portion of the program.
• 20:53
They had some great, uh, fire pits burning a couple Christmas trees. That was pretty nice. Oh, Christmas trees burning? Oh, yeah. Yeah. They burn good. Oh, they, they burned delightfully.
• 21:02
And then I had to flip one over because the other side wasn't taking 'cause somebody watered it a little too well during the holidays. Oh. [laughs] So as not to burn their house down. I guess so.
• 21:11
That was pretty clever of them. Yeah. [laughs] So Gomez, you're heading on a big old sweep out west and northwest and north and west. Headed- What's going on out that way? Headed to Anchorage for a week.
• 21:23
Gonna meet with, uh, all the Alaskan bike makers and Eric up at Revelate and, uh, gonna meet with some cats that are making some solid bike boxes, bags out of carbon and, and aluminum. I saw those.
• 21:40
They're doing a Kickstarter project on that. Right. Right. So I'm gonna see those guys with the hard cases, going to Homer and, uh- Oh... gonna do beach riding at the big Fat Tire Festival out there. Um, I- Is that...
• 21:54
That's more of a... That's not a race, it's more of a- Total festival... just get together- Yeah... fun, fun time thing.
• 22:01
And it's, it's supposed to be a quaint little, uh, little village on the edge of the mountains and ocean. So, uh, I'd, I've been dreaming about going there for a couple of years, so should be cool.
• 22:14
Dreams do come true at fatbike.com. Let's see. And then back to Anchorage to, uh, m- meet with the guys at Speedway, and then off to Salt Lake City to, uh, hang out and go
• 22:32
to the Fat Bike Nationals. So, and cover that race and- See our, um, is our friend April gonna be there do you think? Or she's not- Nope. No, not all the way there.
• 22:41
That's, uh, no, that conflicts with one of the races in the Great Lakes series. Oh. But, uh, I bet you Ned's there. I bet you Deadly Nedley. You know Rebecca Rush will be there. Um- Amanda Carey'll be there.
• 22:54
Yeah, we'll, we'll- Be a lot of people there... um, Adam said that he's gonna head up with, uh, with the folks from Boo, so that means the- He kinda said, "Why not go?" Yeah. [laughs] Is what he told me.
• 23:06
[laughs] Why wouldn't I go? And speaking of national championship races, the other national championship, the unsanctioned one at the Fat Bike Birkie, they, uh,
• 23:18
they pinged us this week and said, "Hey, you know, February 1st the prices go up $10, so tell your listeners, save $10 and register before February 1st."
• 23:30
And they also told us that they have over 600 people already registered, and the cap is at 750 this year. So if I were you and I wanted to get my spot, I'd save $10 and- Do it now... pick them up.
• 23:46
So that's, uh, that's what I've got this week. Who, uh- All right. We've got a caller on the line. Hey, caller. My name's Fred. Hi, Fred. How are you doing? Pretty good. I'm calling you from Missouri. Missouri?
• 24:03
What's fat biking like down in Missouri? [laughs] Well, I got tired of riding a single speed I had, and I decided to get a fat bike, and it's literally saved my life. Tell us more.
• 24:21
I am a congestive heart failure patient, and, uh, my doctor suggested that I ride my bike more Well, with the arthritis and stuff I got too, I couldn't really ride my 26-inch Trek anymore, so I bought myself a, uh,
• 24:39
a bike through the mail and, uh, it's got four-inch tires. It's... I won't say what company 'cause I... Well, I'll say it. [laughs] Bikes Direct. I got a... I couldn't afford a, you know, a $1,600 Surly.
• 24:54
I had to get something that I could afford 'cause I'm on a fixed income. Right on. Well- But I went... I... Go ahead. I was just gonna say, fat bikes are fat bikes. I went- However you get them is great.
• 25:05
I went from 313 pounds to 242 pounds since July. Congratulations. Wow. By riding every day. I r- I ride every day. We got some neat trails out here. Got one called The Berryman that's just tremendous.
• 25:22
And then we have a, in town here, I'm in the town of Rolla, and, uh, we got a, uh, park owned by the Lions Club and the local bike shop, and the mountain bikers down here built some single track in the woods around the place.
• 25:36
It's four miles, and I put four or five laps on that two or three times a week, and I've been getting better and better. My climbing's gotten better and my...
• 25:46
As far as my health and losing weight, I've lost all that weight, and then I went from, uh, I went from having so much damage to my heart that my heart has even improved. S- fantastic story. But I really love it.
• 26:01
I love your show. My wife and I listen to it every week. [laughs] My son does too. She must be a tolerant woman. Right on. Well, you've been entered to win the, uh s- She's very tolerant... Very good.
• 26:12
I've got some other callers ca- Pardon?
• 26:13
We're gonna enter you to win that Megolift fat bike that we're giving away too, so thanks for giving us a shout, and, uh, call in next week if you wanna update us with what's going on. Okay. I will. Have a good one.
• 26:24
All right. You too. Bye-bye. Keep on riding. Hey, who do we have on the line? It's Fat Bike Radio. Is it me? Is it me? [laughs] It could very well be you, young man. This is Marty Tank. Marty Tank.
• 26:43
My man. From Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Oconomowoc, Oconomoc- How you doing?... Oconomoc, Oconomowoc. We're doing very well. So- I'm so glad to be on your show. So glad. So glad.
• 26:54
Marty, Marty, you are entered to win- Yeah... the Megolift, which you're gonna love that bike. We have here one now, uh- I am... that JK Living is testing. Hey, and you know what? I,
• 27:08
I wanna share why I think it would be just awesome for somebody in my position, if that's okay. Sure, yeah. I, as you know, I own my own company, Tank Productions. I'm a videographer,
• 27:20
and I've seen some people do some pretty utilitarian things with their fat bikes, and it got to thinking, if I had a fat bike and put a rack on the back of that, I could take my tripod, my slider, and carry my camera in a backpack, and my lenses, and I could go to the moon and shoot awesome shots.
• 27:41
Yeah. Yeah, I know that we had texted a little bit back and forth about how we thought you could best carry your, uh, your gear, and I know that we talked about a cargo fat bike, right?
• 27:55
Yeah, we talked about, uh, uh, you, you showed me a, a specific kind of rack that was kinda designed for hunting, but you could strap kind of anything to that. The, the plates, the, the racks that they fold.
• 28:08
But at the end of the day, it seemed like it would be a little easier just to get a smaller tripod than to try to finagle something that would fit my existing kind of tripod that is a kind of a, not really a travel, more of an in-studio setup.
• 28:21
Sure. Well, Marty, we have a queue full of calls, man. I really appreciate you calling in. You are entered to win the bike, and, uh, we will catch you on the flip side, my man. All right, man. See you. Bye-bye.
• 28:37
Welcome to Fat Bike Radio. Who do we have on the line? It's, uh, this is Logan Smith. I'm from, I'm from Manhattan, Kansas. Logan Smith from Manhattan, Kansas.
• 28:49
You- What's, what's that brewery they got in Manhattan- Uh-huh... Kansas? What's the brewery in Manhattan, Kansas, Sven wants to know. I'm a, I'm a student, a student-athlete here. Oh, cool. And, uh, I'm a senior. Nice.
• 29:02
So this would be- Yeah... your first fat bike, right, if you- I saw your- If you win the- And that's... Yeah, absolutely. Nice.
• 29:09
Yeah, I saw 'em- So you are- I learned of 'em, like, five years ago, and I saw you guys' site, and so I thought I'd give you a call. That is awesome. Well, you are entered to win.
• 29:20
Do you have any questions for us or anything? I guess I don't have any questions. I'm surprised that I got on. Well, cool. Thanks for calling, man. We're gonna go on to the next caller. All righty. Well, thank you.
• 29:33
Hey, welcome to the show. Who do I have on the line? Hi. Kelly Peterson. Kelly Peterson, how are you? Yes. Good. How are you doing? I'm doing well. So you called to enter our contest for the new bike. Yeah, I did.
• 29:50
For the Metal- Yep... for the Megolift. That's w- Is this, is this the- What?... Cognition Cap Kelly Peterson? Yeah, it is. It is. Dude. We no longer own Cognition Cap. [laughs] Yes, we- That's all right.
• 30:03
Yeah, but I, I just had to, like... You, you- We no, we no longer own it, and, uh, we sold it to our friend in, uh, Fort Collins. Oh. I still have- Yep... I s- So now I'm on to...
• 30:14
Actually, as we speak, I'm making, uh, crazy neck warmers. Wow, cool. Man, you moved to, you moved to Manhattan, New York, and now you're back in Madison again, aren't you? I, I did. [laughs] I did.
• 30:29
I was in Brooklyn and Manhattan for a while, but I actually just m- moved back- Nice... 'cause I realized I wanted to be, uh, home and closer to family.
• 30:38
That's so killer, man, and we're so happy to have you back in the Midwest. You seemed really, really happy though, uh, in New York too, uh, from my Facebook stalking of you. [laughs] Yes. Oh my God.
• 30:51
Yeah, New York treated me so well. I feel like I, I did everything I wanted to do, I saw everything I wanted to see, and it was, it was a fantastic year. [laughs] Thank you guys for doing this. Hey, no problem.
• 31:04
It's like, it's really fun. Yeah. All right, well, I'll let, I'll let you get to your other callers then. Thanks for calling. All right, take care. Bye. All right, bye. Welcome to the radio program.
• 31:17
Who do we have on the line? Russell. Russell? The Russell T. Jobes? Got it. Dude. Russell wants to enter to win that- Dudes, what's up? You wanna enter to win that fat bike, don't ya? Yeah.
• 31:36
[laughs] So Russell, what can we do for you today? Do you want fries with that? Um, what's up? Uh, not much. Just gotten into work. Uh, hoping to get some snow this weekend and get some good rides in.
• 31:52
Did you, uh, have a good time at the Fattyushka race? You looked kinda muddy after that thing. Yeah. [laughs] Yeah, yeah. Fattyushka was a good time.
• 32:02
Uh, good, uh, keeping the good spirit of the, uh, of the, uh, relay race, the, uh, the fun part of it in. Uh, unfortunately we had very little snow, so it was, uh, all muddy. But, uh, yeah, good time.
• 32:15
Uh, Ben's Cycles put on a, uh, real good event. Now, were you, uh, were you wearing a kit during this race? Yes, I was. I, uh, a little easier on movement and, uh, yeah, you're racing, so I decked out for it, so.
• 32:33
And- I saw you were wearing a Bare Knuckle Brigade jersey, so, uh, I think you were rocking the kit pretty good. So did you- Oh, yeah, I was, uh, I was wearing the Bare Knuckle. Who else was on your team?
• 32:46
Uh, I had, uh, Cooper with me, and then, uh, a new guy, John Moran, who had never ridden a fat bike before. So, uh, we had to trade off bikes with him. Sweet. Bringing another guy into the sport. Another addict is born.
• 33:01
[laughs] Yeah, we hope so. Well, all right, Russell. We're gonna take the next call. All right. Thank y'all for calling. All right, thanks for all you do. Hey, welcome to the radio program. Who do we have on the line?
• 33:17
Hello, this is Kenny Grimmey from Pennsylvania. What's up, Pennsylvania? Are you calling in- Hey, just wanted to give you guys mad props on the show. Thanks, man. Another man that likes torture apparently.
• 33:32
[laughs] Hey, you guys ever been east here to the Dirt Fest we have in May? No, but I wanna go. Absolutely.
• 33:41
Yeah, I kinda blew past that on my way out to the East Coast and was kicking myself for not stopping in Pennsylvania. There's some beautiful terrain there. I've been to the Punk Bike Enduro, uh, a handful of times.
• 33:54
Yeah, that's the one Dirt Grinder runs down in Pittsburgh.
• 33:57
The same guys are putting on the show here this spring, and I have it on good account from the event promoter there's gonna be some fat specific activities that will be a lot of fun. You guys ought to check it out.
• 34:10
All right. Well, we, we will definitely do that, man. I know I'm trying to remember the cat that, that runs that. His name is Aaron or he's from Rothrock Outfitters. Rothrock Outfitters, Evan Gross.
• 34:24
That, that- He can throw a party, man. Yeah. Well, cool. Well, uh- Hope to see you there... yeah, that sounds good. Let's put that on the calendar. Thanks for calling, man. Keep up the great work. Thanks.
• 34:37
Welcome to the Johnny Danger Show, Fat Bike Radio. Who do we have on the line? Gomez, this is Mark Barrett from Hammer Nutrition. [laughs] Dr. Mark, what's up, buddy?
• 34:53
Yeah, long time no see. I know. I thought I might see you at the Triple D, but, uh, your appear, disappearance was noted. Well, that's always, it's always nice to be thought of. Like, "Where's, where's Gomez?" Yeah.
• 35:12
[laughs] Always leave, always leave the crowd wanting more. [laughs] Especially in my case. [laughs] So are you calling to- I, uh-... enter to win that fabulous State Megalith fat bike, Doc?
• 35:25
Well, if I win it, uh, so be it, but, uh, [laughs] I really don't need a new bike. [laughs] What are you riding these days? Oh, what am I riding? I'm riding a Bear Grease. Oh, very nice. A carbon Bear Grease,
• 35:41
uh, from our friend George at Broken Spoke. Oh, nice. Nice, we love George. Yeah, I- Is it a, is it a white one or a black one? Black one. Black one. Yeah, yeah, I'm really satisfied with it.
• 35:55
Uh, got the whiskey wheels on it, and, uh, some Dillinger's. Uh, just put the spikes in today. Yeah, me too. Uh, so I'm ready to roll on the ice. Are you gonna be up at the, uh- Oh-... Shell Track race? Yes, I am.
• 36:11
I, I wouldn't miss that one for anything. How about yourself? I'll, I'll be up there for sure. Cool. Yeah, you're, uh, the rumor is that you're gonna be race director. [laughs] I don't think so.
• 36:28
Ringmaster Ned. [laughs] Well then, well then maybe you can be on my team for the relay. Maybe.
• 36:36
I'm, I'm more up there for photography, and my daughter's got a, a birthday party right after that, so I'm gonna be up there shooting photos for everybody and then, uh, cheering people on.
• 36:45
But, uh, I'll definitely see you up there. Well, you know, [laughs] I'll pick anybody up, uh, on a, as a teammate, as long as you got a pulse. There you go. Well, Mark, thanks for calling the show.
• 36:59
We have you entered to win the bike, and, uh, we're gonna go on to the next caller. Okay, sounds good. We'll talk to you guys at Shell Track. All right, man. Welcome to Fat Bike Radio. You got Tarzan the Ape Man.
• 37:14
Who do we have on the line? This is Ox. What's going on, guys? [laughs] Oh, the Ox man. So what's going on, Price? [laughs] So, uh, got a question.
• 37:28
Uh, uh, love your show and I, I've got some, uh, everybody's been talking about getting, uh, tubeless, so I got some Roll- Rolling barrels with a, a Larry in the front and an Nate in the rear, and, um, I'm wondering if those would be good to, uh, uh, to go tubeless with, or you'd have any recommendations about, uh, getting some, uh, some, um, new wheels or a rim set, uh, uh, for my bike.
• 37:51
I got a Pogley Necromancer. You still running the stock rims on that bike? Rolling barrels. Yeah, still the stock, uh, uh, rolling barrels. Uh, they, they set up pretty well.
• 38:03
Yeah, th- they're not the simplest ones to do, but a gorilla tape and, uh, you know, using a tube to
• 38:11
set those beads before you even put sealant in there, and then once you set both beads with the tube, you take one side off, you take the tube out, you then set it so the,
• 38:26
uh, the bead that you've got loose is hanging down.
• 38:29
Put it on a bucket so gravity kinda holds that, that edge down, and then blow it up without any sealant in it, and both beads'll seat, and then put your sealant in through the valve and, uh, and it'll work.
• 38:45
I don't think you need to necessarily get a new rim at all. Uh, those will absolutely work.
• 38:51
Now, you just, you have, you have tires that have probably, you know, been through the war, so, uh, you need to, like, get those beads just as clean as you possibly can and take a scrub brush to your wheels and, like, get everything clean and all the debris out of there before you start.
• 39:11
And, uh, it's an adventure. And make sure there's no imperfections or anything on it. Go from there.
• 39:19
If that doesn't work, obviously, then I should try some, uh, some, uh, some new, uh, some new tires or, you know, then, uh- Yeah... for some reason, if it doesn't work. You know, how long have you been on those tires?
• 39:31
Uh, they've been... I've been using them for a good two years now. Well, most of the time the, it's the sidewalls that go on fat bike tires before the tread goes, especially that Nate. It's got a ton of tread on it.
• 39:42
Um, you know, as long as they, as long as they hold air, tubeless, they'll be, they'll be good, but I really think that you should make a go of going tubeless, uh, with your existing setup, and it'll, it'll, it'll make that bike easier to pedal and save you just a- Oh, yeah...
• 39:59
teeny bit of weight. It's always nice to make it easier to pedal. I like that kind of feeling. All right, Ox. Talk to you. Thanks for calling in, man. I really appreciate you calling, and, uh- Okay...
• 40:09
we're gonna go on to the next caller. Thanks, man, and, uh, we'll see you guys at, uh, Fat Bike Enduro. Enduro. Later. Bye. Or snow bike enduro, whatever. Yeah. Hey, welcome to Fat Bike Radio. It's Gomez.
• 40:24
Who do we have on the line? How's it going? Oh, it's going good. How about you? Oh, I'm doing great, man. Called in to win a free fat bike. [laughs] Nice. What's your name? Yeah, what's going on?
• 40:39
Uh, we just need your name so we can [laughs] put it next to your phone number so you can win the bike, bro. [laughs] You can give me your nickname or a code name, you know, if you're deep undercover and whatnot.
• 40:50
I understand. Oh, code name, huh? [laughs] I don't know. [laughs] All right. I'll just give you my real name. How's that? All right. Fair enough. All right. All right, my name's Chandler. Chandler, that's a nice name.
• 41:08
Hey, you got any other questions? Did you just call in to win the bike, or do you, uh, wanna shoot us a question? Oh, I'm just, I'm just listening in, man. I don't really have any questions.
• 41:17
Uh, I've never heard you guys before, so I decided I'd call in. Um, so yeah, I mean, that's about it. All right. Well, thanks for calling. We got another caller waiting, so, uh, you're entered to win the bike.
• 41:30
Peace out, and, uh, thanks for calling. Thanks, man. You got Dr. Johnny Fever on Fat Bike Radio. Who do I have on the line? Greg. Greg, what's going on? Not much. How you doing? I'm doing well.
• 41:47
So you're automatically entered- Awesome... to win our Megalith- Cool... fat bike from State Bicycle Company. Do you have, uh, do you have a question for Sven, JK, or I? Um, actually, no.
• 42:01
I was just, uh, listening and, uh, checking you guys out, and
• 42:07
a friend of mine told me about you guys, and just kinda tuned in tonight and then posted this, so, and, uh, saw this and thought I'd call in and try to win myself a fat bike. Well, killer, dude. You are entered.
• 42:17
We got you down. We're gonna move on- Cool... to the next caller. Thanks, man. Thanks for calling, bro. Cool. Have a good day. Welcome to the show. Who do I have on the line?
• 42:28
Hey, you got Adam Hansen, East Aurora, New York. Adam, how are you tonight? Good. Yourself? Fantastic. Hey, thanks for calling in to the show. You're automatically entered to win the Megalith fat bike.
• 42:41
You got a question for Sven, Gomez, or Mr. JK Livin? Yeah, I do, actually. Right on. I've never actually ridden one of these bikes before. Okay.
• 42:52
I have to imagine, um, just being a, a mountain biker, that it's gotta be a little bit more difficult with these big, fat tires. Is that true or, uh, is this just something that I made up in my head?
• 43:04
You would be quite surprised at how nimble and easy to pedal fat bikes are. Now, if you're going up for six miles straight, you're gonna notice a fat bike is not going to be as easy- Into the wind [laughs]...
• 43:19
um, [laughs] as, as your regular mountain bike. But when you're riding in the snow, you generally don't ride those big climbs. You ride more moderate.
• 43:28
On the beach, you have a lot of rolling resistance, but you have a very low gear, and these bikes now these days are, are down to the
• 43:40
22 to 28-pound range, so they're not the 34 to 38-pound bikes that they were even just five years ago. Things are just getting- Okay... lighter and easier. And, and really, [laughs] the first time you jump on one,
• 43:58
you're gonna know. Uh, it's very mountain bike-like feel, but somehow it brings me back to being a kid. It's just so big and bouncy and fun, and it's... That sounds stupid probably, but [laughs] hey.
• 44:12
Gary, Gary Fisher even said it. [laughs] Well, there you go. It, it bring, it, it brings you back to what made mountain biking great in the first place. Yeah. So get your legs over one night. Oh, thank you.
• 44:23
You gotta try it, man. Hey, can I ask a second question too? Yeah, absolutely.
• 44:29
Um, just bringing it back to mountain biking thing, I, I go down to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, um, about once a year, and I took my mountain bike down there and I went, "Oh, yeah, it would be a good idea to take it out onto the sand and" vr, vr, vr, or get stuck down into the sand.
• 44:44
Do you think, um, this kind of bike might actually work on the sand as well? Oh, absolutely. I, I actually did a five-day tour on the Outer Banks and down to South Core Bank, uh, and did- Okay...
• 45:00
extensive riding along the beach. Uh, they have some beach closures for, uh, mating birds, the, the piping plover and oyster catchers. Uh, but- Yep. Yep, yep...
• 45:13
but they have a hotline and everything, so you can, you can look at the, at the National Seashore's hotline, and all of that is totally rideable, my man.
• 45:23
Uh, and they don't know about these bikes at all down there, I'm telling you. Uh, even the, the ranger that- Oh, sure... I called and said, [laughs] said, "Is it legal to ride on the beach?"
• 45:33
He was like, "Oh, yeah, it's legal, son, but there's no way you'll ever be able [laughs] to ride a bike on the beach." And it was all rideable. [laughs] That's awesome. That's great to hear. Well, cool.
• 45:45
I'd love that opportunity to try that out. That'd be a great place to do it. Lots of cool stuff to see. Uh, lots of flotsam and jetsam and shells and surf, uh, fishermen and lots of cool stuff.
• 45:59
South Core Banks was the bomb, was like so pristine and, uh, no people down there. Yeah. That, that's, that's what keeps it special. That's why it was good out there. Well, cool, man. Thanks for calling.
• 46:16
We're gonna go to the next call. Thanks, Sven. Appreciate it. You have a good night. You, too. Hello? Hey, welcome to the show. Hey, thanks. Who do I have on the line? Uh, this is Jordan Peters from Kansas.
• 46:32
Jordan, welcome to the show. You are entered to win that Megalith State Bicycle Company fat bike. Do you have a question for Sven Gomez or Mr. JK Living? No. I, I just was calling to-
• 46:50
Calling to get that fat bike... get a bike. All right, brother. Well, you are entered. Yeah. We got you written on the list, so good luck. All right. Hell, yeah. And, uh, we're gonna go on to the next caller, bro.
• 47:04
Hell, yeah. Thank you. Have a good one. All right. Thank you very much. Bye. Hey, welcome to the radio program. Who do we have on the line? This is Pat Snodgy. How you doing? Pat, dude, how are you? Hey. I'm doing well.
• 47:21
Just hanging out in, uh, sunny Arizona right now, but for the first time in a, a very long time, I'm actually missing the winter and, and missing the snow.
• 47:31
[laughs] Well, you can always go up to the mountains in Flagstaff and get your, get yourself a little dose of snow in Arizona. Yeah, I have.
• 47:40
I've been, I've been debating that, but I, I might just have to wait to, to get back home, and hopefully by then we'll, we'll have some snow back there.
• 47:48
Hoping to get back next month for a couple of races and, yeah, I haven't heard much, but it doesn't sound like we have, uh, too much for a base right now, so hoping that'll change in the next couple weeks, then I can get back there and do some real riding.
• 48:02
Killer, man. You've been, uh, touring all over the West. I've seen, uh, you've sent us a few pictures. You've been posting on Instagram, all part of your new gig as the, uh, uh, Fatbacks ambassador, right? Yeah.
• 48:17
Yeah, definitely really, uh, excited about that. Um, at first I got a, got a company called the Ryan Young Products who import the, the Sherco motorcycles that I ride.
• 48:26
They actually support me to go on a trip pretty much the last, uh, five winters or so to, to come out west and, and ride motorcycles.
• 48:33
But once I got, got the, uh, got the, got the Fatbacks back gig, I started planning a, a few different stops here and there and, and, uh, tried to get some interesting photos and videos and stuff, and just been having a blast riding places that I kinda always wanted to ride and- Now that I have the, the Fatback, it's like, all right, I, I gotta do them and, yeah, started in Wisconsin and, uh, just came back from California.
• 48:57
Actually, I was out there for a couple weeks and back to Arizona. Staying in Phoenix right now and heading to, uh, Sedona after this, so- Oh, nice...
• 49:06
definitely looking forward to getting back up there again and got plenty of stops planned out on the way back home, but having tons of fun on the new bike and seeing what it, seeing what it can do and how many more options I have now.
• 49:16
It's, it's pretty awesome. So killer, man. Now going from you rode a first generation, the old original blue Mukluk before you became- Yeah...
• 49:28
an ambassador, and now you have a Fatback's ITI-killing carbon Corvus. And, uh, why don't you tell us, like, is that night and day? Now I know you ride probably the finest motorcycle.
• 49:44
Pat is the AMA Motorcycle Trials Champion how many times over? Six times, something like that, Pat? Seven now, actually. Seven now. See, I, I'm sorry about that. Gotta keep up with, uh, with that.
• 49:57
Uh, so is it, is, was it like just a quantum leap in, uh, in lightness and, uh, and handling for the trials kind of riding that you do? You know, it, it actually, it was. I was pretty surprised.
• 50:11
I had never been on a carbon bike before, just kinda always ride them up and, and felt the weight and always have been surprised about that.
• 50:19
But yeah, coming from the, the full aluminum bike, uh, pretty much since I got that bike I, I knew I wanted something better. I, I mean, I had a lot of fun on it, but I knew there was a lot more to offer.
• 50:29
And yeah, I had been, pretty much since I got it, I had been, uh, searching out a, another one, what, what was gonna be next.
• 50:35
And with this, uh, program coming up, it was the first, or the perfect chance to, to get on one.
• 50:40
And yeah, the first ride I took, I mean, the, the first thing you notice is the weight is, is quite a bit, quite a bit less and yeah, it's definitely been helpful for the type of riding I do.
• 50:49
And it's actually, uh, opened up a little bit more stuff that I'd never really had thought about riding.
• 50:54
Like now I, I pretty much will see a hill and, and see how far I can get and even if I can't make it, I, I mean, I, I hike the bike up and ride it back down and been having a lot of fun doing that, something I'd never really looked at doing.
• 51:06
And with the Fat- Fat bikes and the light weight, it makes it, makes it easier to carry if you have to, and you can also ride further up some of the, the, the loose and nasty stuff out here.
• 51:15
There's a lot of kinda gravelly ground and sand and- Mm-hmm... loose rocks and stuff like that, so it's been, uh, real helpful to get places I normally wouldn't have.
• 51:24
Uh, last year I took my 29er out here and pretty much just stuck to the normal trails and, and had fun.
• 51:30
But with, uh, this Fatback, it just, it opens up so many more opportunities and just been having a t- a ton of fun riding, not just on the trail, but everywhere I go.
• 51:39
And even a lot of the places that I go to ride motorcycle trials, it's like hills are pretty much playgrounds now where I can either, uh, make my own trails or ride whatever I want or ride some of the motorcycle trails too.
• 51:50
So a huge, huge difference from the, the original bike and definitely happy I'm on the program now, and hopefully it goes well, and hopefully they, uh, they like the content I'm putting out. Well, cool, man.
• 52:01
You know, when you get back in town, we're gonna have to, uh, we'll have to set up a, a time for us to get together and get you in front of our cameras and, uh, make a little edit of, uh,
• 52:13
of your awesome trials riding, man. You have, you have got the skills to pay the bills. [laughs] Yeah. I, I try, I try.
• 52:21
It's, uh, definitely something, something different, but yeah, I'd definitely be interested in doing something like that. Definitely try to get the bike out, out there as much as I can.
• 52:28
That's the goal and, uh, yeah, just as much, as much fun, the more fun I can have doing it, the better. But yeah, definitely been interested. Killer, man. Well, thanks for calling in. We really appreciate it.
• 52:39
Yeah, no problem. Thanks for having me on and looking forward to, uh, racing with you guys next month. Sounds good, man. Take care. All right. You too. See ya. Welcome to the radio program. Who do we have on the line?
• 52:53
Did I get a wrong number? [laughs] Thank God, it's Chewy. [laughs] Fucking can't even hide from you anymore. What the hell? [laughs] Chewy, welcome to the radio program.
• 53:10
[laughs] Hey, what's new? Hey, we're giving away this Megolith State Bicycle Company, like, single speed fat bike. It's right up your alley, my man. Made from steel. It's the real deal. Cool. For real. Yeah. What's new?
• 53:26
Well... There's a new carbon bike out. Really? Well- One that-... somebody posted one. It was 18 ounce, 18 po- 18 ounce? Oh. 18 pounds. What the hell is that all about? That's a, that's a Lemaire, uh, fat bike
• 53:43
that, uh, I don't know. [laughs] I don't know. Did they drill holes in it or something [laughs] to make it that light? I, I looked at it and I was like, "All right.
• 53:51
Here's somebody that wants to prove that they can make a bike super light." And all right, 18 pounds, that's super light for a fat bike.
• 53:59
And it had a one by 11 drivetrain on it and a saddle that I'm sure would actually draw blood or something after a few miles. [laughs] I don't know.
• 54:10
I mean, and the, uh, and the rear chain rings are made out of tinfoil to make it light. Yeah. But it's a- [laughs] It's a, that's a Lemaire- Exactly...
• 54:19
that, that bike's been around for a while, and I think that I- So are... So have you seen it? Have you actually seen it in person? 'Cause it looks really pretty. I have seen a Lemaire in person, but not that actual one,
• 54:34
so. Oh, okay. Yeah. Well, yeah, I've seen plenty of the other ones, but I haven't seen that one. Right. Um, do you guys have any snow? Just a tiniest little, little layer of snow over lots of ice, so.
• 54:52
Well, I- And actually the lake, the lake riding here is awesome So you know that Spin and I are heading out next weekend. Out to, uh- We're on, on the big- Out to Tucson, right? Yeah, out to Arizona. Right, yeah. Yep.
• 55:04
Well, we're gonna go to, we're gonna go to kind of up by Phoenix, up by Prescott, called Cave Creek.
• 55:11
Uh, Dirty and boys from, are putting on a Arizona single speed championship, and then we're gonna go hang out in Tucson and that area for a while, then we'll head out to 24 Hours of Lo Pueblo.
• 55:23
So we'll go camp out at Lo Pueblo and save a spot out there. So we're gonna spend 10 days camping in a U-Haul van. [laughs] Oh, nice. Nice. I see, like, I see, like, uh...
• 55:39
[laughs] I can't even z- don't even get me started. [laughs] I'm going down a bad road. So, uh, so- [laughs]... two weeks in the desert, you and Chewy,
• 55:49
and, uh, you gotta, you gotta s- gotta call in and you gotta send me Instagram pictures. I wanna, I wanna know reports, 'cause I actually wanna be there. I'm kinda, I'm, I'm going to Alaska, but I, I'll be missing...
• 56:02
Uh, all those things- It-... sounded so good... it's, uh, the, I'm, I'm more nervous for Arizona Single Speed Championship than I am for 24 Hours of Lo Pueblo.
• 56:13
You know, it's a 24-hour race, you know, personally they dumbed down the courses. It's not, it's still fun, but it's dumbed down pretty good because of the number of people and riding at night.
• 56:23
But the Arizona Single Speed Championship course, I don't even know if you can call it a course. Best I can tell is a bunch of guys with no jobs are out digging up cactus making a, making a trail- [laughs]... in, uh,
• 56:37
this Cave Creek area. So this is the first time these guys have ever said
• 56:43
not only to make sure that I have plenty of tires with slime in them or go tubeless, that you better have spares with you with lots of slime and tubeless. So it's gonna be ugly. Just the way you like it, bro. Oh, yeah.
• 56:57
[laughs] I'm sure there'll be at least a tequila tree and a whiskey bottle hidden someplace. Killer, man. You know what? You know what your call just did- So, definitely... for you, too?
• 57:09
