- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, Goud Maragani and that law firm that Stephen Miller
- 0:05and Trumpets sort of operate. They got seventy votes. It's
- 0:11pretty good. It is Boner candidate number two. But sticking
- 0:15kids in the box one hundred and forty five votes.
- 0:17People don't seem to like that idea very much. And
- 0:20that's Boner of the Day. You don't Boner of the
- 0:24Day for today. October twenty one, twenty twenty four, now
- 0:27qualified to.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Be Boner of the Week.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Had a weird experience this morning, pretty weird. I'm sitting
- 0:35there doing my work, like three in the morning, I
- 0:39think it was four four o'clock this morning, sitting there
- 0:41at the computer, and it's downstairs in the dining room.
- 0:45And now I'm used to having my kid, my oldest son,
- 0:49little Bill, sort of up and around at that time
- 0:53of the day. He works at the Haunted House, thear factory,
- 0:57and then he comes home at I don't know, midnight
- 0:59or one, and then he's usually up for a while,
- 1:02and so a lot of times he's still up while
- 1:04I'm working, but I hear noise from the back, the
- 1:09back door and it opens, and I go, what the hell?
- 1:14And in comes my son and his girlfriend. And I said,
- 1:20what's going on here? And he said, I sort of
- 1:23scared me. He said, I don't mean to scare you.
- 1:25I just uh, we just we've been up at the hospital.
- 1:29What what's going on? So, so apparently his girlfriend, she
- 1:36was acting in the Haunted House last night. Now she
- 1:39doesn't live here in Utah, but she's here for a visit.
- 1:41And she used to work at fear Factory and so
- 1:43she kind of a guest appearance. And apparently she hit
- 1:49her head and and cut it open a little bit
- 1:52and got a concussion and and but and they had
- 1:56to go to the emergency room. But here here they
- 1:59are walking in into the house and she's still got
- 2:02on all of this monster makeup, Like I'm going what
- 2:09and there's she said, hell, and here's a picture and can.
- 2:13Speaker 3: They tell what blood is real?
- 2:14Speaker 2: And what? Well?
- 2:16Speaker 1: I know, I know she they she showed me a
- 2:18picture on her phone and there's blood running down the
- 2:21front of her face and she said, that's that's real. God, Okay,
- 2:27it's gonna be okay. I guess a concussion though, you
- 2:30have you have to watch for a while. And yeah,
- 2:33but you've had several heavy Regina.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Uh, I haven't had several. I've had one concussion, but
- 2:39it was a serious.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Real I had.
- 2:41Speaker 1: You know, I had a bunch of concussions when I
- 2:43was a kid, and I don't recall anybody doing anything
- 2:47about it other than saying sleep it off.
- 2:50Speaker 3: No, they're like, especially with kids, like my kids have
- 2:53had them in sports and stuff, and they're they take
- 2:56it very seriously.
- 2:58Speaker 2: They didn't when I was a kid. I had one.
- 3:00I remember so bad that I threw up.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Yeah, that's bad.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Yeah, And they said. The first concussion I sort of
- 3:07remember having. I was probably in the third grade and
- 3:10it had one of those big, tall slides out on
- 3:12the playground, and I don't remember, but apparently I was
- 3:16on top of that slide and doing something stupid and
- 3:20fell off of the slide, the top of the slide
- 3:23down onto the asphalt, which is, you know, what they
- 3:27had for playgrounds back in the day of the school.
- 3:29And the only thing I remember is sitting on the
- 3:32steps of the school, going, why am I sitting here?
- 3:36Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 3:38Speaker 1: And then they told me that, and a teacher came
- 3:41out and said they told the teacher what had happened,
- 3:43and the teacher said, well, you know, you better go home,
- 3:48and they and they sent me home walking. Yeah, well
- 3:53it was about a fifteen minute walk, go home, you.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Better go home. Okay, that's not what you do, is it.
- 4:02Speaker 1: No? And then I've had other concussions, never went to
- 4:06the doctor.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Well that explains so much.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I you know, I sometimes wonder, you know, you know,
- 4:12I mean I used to say I would probably. I mean,
- 4:15I'm fairly intelligent, but I bet I'd be a genius
- 4:18if it weren't for growing up with leaded gasoline and
- 4:20having about six or seven concussions.
- 4:23Speaker 3: You wouldn't be doing this joke.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Oh god, no, be doing something productive. And you know,
- 4:30I'm surprised any of us survived, honestly, if you.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Take helmets and seat belts, and you.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Know all the times that I rode in the back
- 4:38of a pickup truck.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, no seat belts, no seat belts.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Speaking of haunted houses, there was one time in high
- 4:44school where about ten of us climbed in the back
- 4:49in the bed of a pickup truck and were driven
- 4:52to Salt Lake to go to a haunted house on
- 4:55a Saturday, just on the freeway.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Like, well, this was fun. Yeah.
- 5:03Speaker 4: We had a cattle rack occasionally that was on the
- 5:05back of the pickup truck. You know that you could
- 5:07slide in the holes that weren't there, and I would
- 5:11stand up on top of the cattle rack while the
- 5:13car was going, Yeah, while the truck was going down
- 5:15the down the highway.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:19Speaker 4: And of course there's the school. Uh you know playgrounds
- 5:23all blacktop yep.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I h they don't they do something that
- 5:32that's kind of padded now for the school playground.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Rubbers, some sort of soft thing. Yeah, our kids are soft. Now,
- 5:40that's right.
- 5:41Speaker 3: God, it's got to get a couple of concussions to No, that's.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Not what I'm saying.
- 5:47Speaker 4: I'm saying I wish I had that stuff. I probably
- 5:50would have played a little rougher if I had a
- 5:52soft place to land.
- 5:54Speaker 2: You know, when I had.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Really bad concussion, I remember the one that caused me
- 5:59to like it made me sick to my stomach and
- 6:01I threw up. I got it because here here, here's
- 6:04how do we survive. I used to think this was
- 6:07really fun. There's a grocery store down at the bottom
- 6:10of our street, maybe three blocks away, and there were
- 6:12delivery trucks you know. And they had like on the
- 6:17back of the delivery truck a big wide bumper. So
- 6:20when the delivery guy had come out and get in
- 6:21the truck to start to go, I would jump on
- 6:23the back of the bumper to ride the truck. And
- 6:26it was, you know, ride, and it took me up
- 6:29past my past my house, and I jumped off while
- 6:33the truck was still going, and the driver didn't know
- 6:35I was there. And I jumped off not realizing what
- 6:39momentum was and on the pan and then just went
- 6:43backwards full on the back of my head on the
- 6:46pavement of the street. Just just kind of knocked me out.
- 6:50I threw up, went in the house, told my mother
- 6:52what I did. She yelled at me, go to bed,
- 6:55Go to bed, you know, sleep it off again.
- 6:58Speaker 3: This explains so much.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Yeah, to do that, my mother yelling at me. Not that.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Oh no, the decision like maybe this would be a
- 7:09fun thing.
- 7:09Speaker 2: It was. It was fun, but.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Not but not thinking through. No, No, you know, that's
- 7:16that's what I'm talking about.
- 7:18Speaker 1: It it's straight fun in the I forget what we
- 7:21used to call it. In the winter at the church
- 7:23parking lot and people would pull in their cars out
- 7:26and some of them would let you do it, and
- 7:28some of them you'd just hook on real quick, grab
- 7:31onto the bump. But you probably did this, and you know,
- 7:33and and slide in the snow on your shoes and
- 7:36sometimes if the street.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Was packed, you could get pretty far.
- 7:40Speaker 4: I was the one that was driving the car. Oh,
- 7:43Brian Carson was the one hanging on to the back.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead, Brian, I'm not doing that.
