Idaho Wolves on the Decline | Boise News
Idaho’s wolf population has dropped to an estimated 1,129 this year — a decline of 106 from last year — as state officials intentionally push numbers down through expanded hunting and trapping seasons. Once wiped out in the 1930s and reintroduced in the 1990s, wolves are now being managed post-endangered status (2011), with officials also noting fewer livestock attacks. Their ultimate goal?
