- 0:30I Hate Talking: Welcome to episode 24 of I Hate Talking.
- 0:33I Hate Talking: Hi everyone.
- 0:33I Hate Talking: So today's word or phrase of the episode comes in response of a few words that were used in a recent Joe Rogan episode, of this one in particular with Louis Elizondo.
- 0:47I Hate Talking: And uh during that interview at around 1 hour, 15 minutes and 47 seconds, uh, the guest Louis Elizondo, uh, was describing.
- 0:59I Hate Talking: Uh, how he used some different words to normalize or to show that people don't necessarily think of something in a quote unquote normal way when they hear the word paranormal.
- 1:12I Hate Talking: And the example that he gave was parachute, uh, as one of the examples along with paramedic.
- 1:19I Hate Talking: So we will be talking about the word para as a root word.
- 1:23I Hate Talking: Excellent.
- 1:25I Hate Talking: So, The thing that he was using, uh, is somewhat correct.
- 1:30I Hate Talking: Perra does come from the Greek word era, which means beside or alongside of.
- 1:38I Hate Talking: I actually think he said Latin, uh, but it does come from the Greek actually.
- 1:44I Hate Talking: So, um, didn't get that quite accurate, but, uh, at least knew that it was one of the two that we get our normal root words from in terms of Latin or Greek.
- 1:55I Hate Talking: Uh, and he did describe that correctly in terms of its definition beside or alongside of.
- 2:02I Hate Talking: However, his example word parachute does not actually use that root word.
- 2:09I Hate Talking: It's actually a different root word for pararo.
- 2:13I Hate Talking: So, and there is actually also a Latin root word parrot, which means to prepare, uh, so that would be a little bit different.
- 2:24I Hate Talking: So the word parachute actually comes from the Italian word rare, which means to avert, defend, resist, guard, shield, or shroud and shoot, which comes from meaning of in French uh to fall.
- 2:42I Hate Talking: So parachute uh came to mean uh from that that uh it was protecting against falling.
- 2:49I Hate Talking: So the word parachute does not in fact use any.
- 2:54I Hate Talking: Uh, particular Greek or Latin roots.
- 2:57I Hate Talking: I'm reading this one article and they're saying Pera.
- 3:03I Hate Talking: um, there's two different routes here people can use.
- 3:08I Hate Talking: You have the Greek hea, which means beside.
- 3:11I Hate Talking: Or alongside, then you have the Latin root, which means to shield against.
- 3:17I Hate Talking: So if he's partially right, parachute.
- 3:21I Hate Talking: Could be shielding against something, right?
- 3:25I Hate Talking: for Latin.
- 3:26I Hate Talking: Possibly in the Latin would make sense because it's shielding against, right?
- 3:32I Hate Talking: And that may be true.
- 3:35I Hate Talking: However, the parachute was actually invented by somebody in that area of, uh, France, Italy, and this gentleman named Lennermand.
- 3:45I Hate Talking: Uh, was actually coined the word because he used both the Italian and French root words.
- 3:54I Hate Talking: So maybe true, uh, and we're finding that, uh, as in previous episodes that we find a lot of interesting things as we look at the evolution of words, but, uh, this is pretty well documented that this gentleman, uh, coined that term using the Italian and French languages that he would have actually known.
- 4:12I Hate Talking: Uh, uh, Lewis, as I was saying was correct in, uh, using the term paramedic in terms of that person having a medical profession that is beside or alongside of a full medical practitioner, uh, so paramedic, uh, being a correct usage of that, but again, I would have been the Greek word, not Latin.
- 4:38I Hate Talking: Uh, and then he does uh explain that uh when people are thinking of that paramedic in terms of Normal everyday usage that when you use the word paranormal, but that does not have normal everyday usage in terms of being just something that you refer to in reality as something that is necessarily actually there, it's more used as something that you would write off as not real, but uh I think his point being that paramedic is a real thing and thus paranormal is a real thing because it is just normal adjacent.
- 5:11I Hate Talking: Mhm.
- 5:12I Hate Talking: I get his point.
- 5:13I Hate Talking: It makes sense, um.
- 5:15I Hate Talking: Usually when people use the word paranormal, you are thinking of sci-fi or stories or something that's not mainstream believed, right?
- 5:27I Hate Talking: Right, or sci-fi, which is short for science fiction.
- 5:31I Hate Talking: So again, uh, not in actual reality.
- 5:34I Hate Talking: So we are gonna be talking about some things that may or may not be true in this particular episode since we have just had the anniversary of September 11th, as this episode is, uh, you're listening to it on September 12th or sometime after that.
- 5:51I Hate Talking: We are going to be talking about the events of September 11th, 2001, which was At this 0.23 long years ago.
- 6:00I Hate Talking: Wow.
- 6:01I Hate Talking: And we did mention, I think in one of our previous episodes when we were talking about some of the numbers of people that have died in various wars or global events such as those on 9/11 that we did talk about how there are some people that weren't born at that time, uh, so don't have any particular recollection of the events as they unfolded on that day and, uh, those that are voting would not even have potentially uh lived through those events.
- 6:32I Hate Talking: Yeah.
- 6:33I Hate Talking: So we did also allude to the fact of World Trade Center building #7 falling on that day, but, uh, were you even aware that that happened?
- 6:46I Hate Talking: Well, I was not aware until you told me.
- 6:50I Hate Talking: So no, um I was on the younger side when the actual events came down.
- 6:57I Hate Talking: I didn't necessarily follow uh the news like that in my teen years.
- 7:02I Hate Talking: We did know the twin towers fell.
- 7:04I Hate Talking: Yeah, OK, well, to show my nativity, I still vividly remember that day and hearing, I was on the west coast, so very far away from it, and I heard that the World Trade Towers fell, too.
- 7:20I Hate Talking: And then while I was at school, I heard that the twin towers fell, and so I was like, oh no, 4 towers fell.
- 7:28I Hate Talking: So, high school version of me is not the best um person to be asking about this, cause I thought they were separate towers.
- 7:35I Hate Talking: I did not know they had different names, like a nickname.
- 7:38I Hate Talking: But as I grew and got older, I still and learned about it.
- 7:42I Hate Talking: I still did not know about Tower 7 until You told me, and I think in the beginning, I definitely rolled my eyes at your theories precisely.
- 7:52I Hate Talking: And then there was also the Pentagon that was struck and uh another plane that crashed in a field in Pennsylvania that was destined for most likely some other.
- 8:06I Hate Talking: Uh, area, I think the theory was that that was destined for the White House and I believe that was it, right, those four planes.
- 8:15I Hate Talking: So the thing that uh.
- 8:19I Hate Talking: Led me to do more research on this was Building 7 because there was another tower that fell that was not struck by anything other than some falling debris from the first two towers and then uh it did have some, I guess, fire inside of it and uh according to the.
- 8:39I Hate Talking: NIST report that was done uh several years later, the debris from the other buildings actually did not involve in any way the structural collapse of that Building 7 and uh it was attributed due to just the office fire, but uh some other strange suspicious things that were going on with that particular building and just the events in general around September 11th.
- 9:05I Hate Talking: OK, so what was building 7?
- 9:08I Hate Talking: So Building 7 and we did discuss uh doing more of a fact-based uh episode today and uh decided against that.
- 9:18I Hate Talking: We're just really going to do this as an impromptu thing.
- 9:21I Hate Talking: So I'm just going off of what is in my memory and maybe a quick little offline research here and there, but Building 7 was just another building within the World Trade Center complex.
- 9:32I Hate Talking: And I believe there were a number of financial records that were stored there that uh would have been uh destroyed and um.
- 9:43I Hate Talking: That is the main thing that I remember around building 7.
- 9:47I Hate Talking: And it was a much smaller building, right?
- 9:49I Hate Talking: Yes, it was much smaller.
- 9:51I Hate Talking: Uh, it was, I think, only a fraction of the, the total height of the towers 1 and 2.
- 9:59I Hate Talking: How were there other buildings?
- 10:01I Hate Talking: Um, if this is building 7, I'm assuming that means that there were at least 7 buildings, if not more, right?
- 10:08I Hate Talking: Yup, there would have been a whole number of buildings as part of the World Trade Center complex and uh that is just happens to be #7 in however they named their buildings.
- 10:20I Hate Talking: And that does in some way reference to, I think one of the potential reasons that there would be some sort of conspiracy theory about September 11th, which is just financial records and finances in general.
- 10:36I Hate Talking: Uh, there is actually a report on September 10th that was about how there was a large amount of money missing from some government funds and accounting that was announced on September 10th.
- 10:50I Hate Talking: There were 7 World Trade Center buildings.
- 10:54I Hate Talking: And plus in that complex, there was like a church and um a few other things like that, like a plaza.
- 11:02I Hate Talking: Obviously, the two twin towers, as we know them, were the really tall ones, the ones that the planes hit.
- 11:09I Hate Talking: And where so much devastation in life was lost.
- 11:15I Hate Talking: But the other World Trade Towers around it were still significantly large, just not in comparison.
- 11:24I Hate Talking: But if they were here in our town, they would definitely stand out.
- 11:28I Hate Talking: And they also Um, were destroyed.
- 11:32I Hate Talking: Yeah, there's a key difference in the fact that towers 1 and 2 collapsed, as well as building 7 collapsed.
- 11:40I Hate Talking: The other buildings as well as other buildings outside of the World Trade Center complex like I believe the Deutsche Bank had a very large building that.
- 11:50I Hate Talking: Was uh next block over and had heavy damage.
- 11:54I Hate Talking: The key difference here is that they were destroyed, meaning that they were essentially totaled, they could not be rebuilt, but only buildings 12, and 7 collapsed within their own footprint.
- 12:07I Hate Talking: Right.
- 12:09I Hate Talking: That would make more sense that those 3.
- 12:11I Hate Talking: were the ones that completely were the others were still standing mostly.
- 12:17I Hate Talking: So obviously they needed to be torn down because they were beyond recovery, but.
- 12:22I Hate Talking: The key difference here is that those 3 buildings collapsed and only 2 of them were struck by a particular object.
- 12:32I Hate Talking: So, yeah, your question then is, why did the other towers get damaged and not collapse, and why did this one collapse?
- 12:41I Hate Talking: Precisely.
- 12:43I Hate Talking: Just some things to make you think.
- 12:45I Hate Talking: Uh, and as I was saying, there was the report on September 10th, uh, the quote here was from Rumsfeld.
- 12:54I Hate Talking: Uh, he said, our financial systems are decades old, according to some estimates, we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions.
- 13:03I Hate Talking: We cannot share information from floor to floor in this building because it's stored on dozens of technological systems that are inaccessible or incompatible.
- 13:11I Hate Talking: Uh, so, again, not necessarily saying that it's uh missing per se, which is a correction to what, what I mentioned earlier, um, but basically could not track those records and, uh, then the, uh, September 11th attacks happened the following day.
- 13:27I Hate Talking: OK.
- 13:27I Hate Talking: There's also a lot of interesting things surrounding the stock market.
- 13:33I Hate Talking: Uh, there's a number of transactions that were very large in nature.
- 13:37I Hate Talking: Uh, that were shorting the airlines, uh, so if you're shorting a stock, you're betting against it.
- 13:43I Hate Talking: Basically you are expecting it to move downward in a very volatile fashion.
- 13:49I Hate Talking: Uh, so there's a lot of shorting of the airline stocks immediately before this particular event as well.
- 13:56I Hate Talking: OK, so.
- 13:58I Hate Talking: With all that interesting um things going on.
- 14:03I Hate Talking: That the general public might not be aware of at that time.
- 14:07I Hate Talking: What do you think that means?
- 14:09I Hate Talking: So I think that means that there were people that had pre-existing knowledge that this was going to happen.
- 14:17I Hate Talking: Now the conspiracy theory is that it was perhaps people that were actually conducting the plot, um, and I think that is true.
- 14:25I Hate Talking: I guess the conspiracy theory is whether you think that there was upper executives within the American government that were part of this or if it was the official narrative where it was Al Qaeda and uh terrorists of some kind.
- 14:42I Hate Talking: I think I have a really hard time.
- 14:44I Hate Talking: Like I can feel myself, I don't know if y'all listeners can too, or not, but like I can feel myself get frustrated because there were so many people that died.
- 14:56I Hate Talking: So, I don't want to believe that narrative because there are just too many lives and lives are worth way more value than money.
- 15:05I Hate Talking: To us, they are, but to somebody that.
- 15:08I Hate Talking: Would not really care too much about human life that uh is not necessarily related to them, uh, perhaps not.
- 15:17I Hate Talking: I guess, I mean, It's either Somebody cares more about money, or someone cares more about their religion, right?
- 15:27I Hate Talking: That would be the two narratives that We're holding up as options at this moment, right?
- 15:33I Hate Talking: That is, uh, according to the Bible, that you, that you can serve God or money.
- 15:40I Hate Talking: Hm.
- 15:41I Hate Talking: When I said like, when I talked religion, I meant like a scenario we were I was told by the media was that it was um radicals that believed a certain religion, and they were doing this in the name of their religion.
- 15:55I Hate Talking: Not every Muslim would believe that and take those actions, obviously, but these are radicals that these actions in the name of their religion.
- 16:04I Hate Talking: Indeed, so, yeah, I guess if you take the side of the conspiracy theory, there would still need to be some sort of explanation, uh, and that could be just the explanation that they served because there were potentially other reasons that they would have a vested interest in doing something like this aside from the financial impact, and that would be to Install more surveillance and government apparatus, such as the Patriot Act, as well as go to war in an area that is known for its.
- 16:44I Hate Talking: Cocaine production capability.
- 16:46I Hate Talking: So, I'm just thinking in real time here.
- 16:50I Hate Talking: How wrong is it?
- 16:54I Hate Talking: Um, say some people have a really good heads up that this is gonna, something bad is gonna happen, this is gonna happen.
- 17:04I Hate Talking: They know they can't stop it because they are They, they know they can't stop it.
- 17:10I Hate Talking: Is it wrong for them to monetize and maybe move all, like you said, Uh, short the airlines and do all these things.
- 17:20I Hate Talking: Uh, knowing that they can't stop it, so they might as well benefit.
- 17:27I Hate Talking: Possibly, uh, which does bring us to another particular interesting person, uh, in relation to the events on September 11th, and that is Larry Silverstein.
- 17:40I Hate Talking: He is the owner essentially of the World Trade Center complex at that particular time.
- 17:47I Hate Talking: Uh, he had bought the buildings just a few months before, had insured them for far more money than they were worth.
- 17:54I Hate Talking: And according to A lot of reports actually had a very specific itinerary that he did each day and had breakfast every single business day in that building, but just happened to not be there according to most reports because he had a doctor's appointment that day and uh that that was uh basically interesting that uh he was not there and had all that particular personal interest in.
- 18:25I Hate Talking: Something like that actually happening.
- 18:27I Hate Talking: And according to some things that I've read, I've also seen where he claimed to insurance claims because it was two separate acts of terrorism um and wanted to get paid double.
- 18:41I Hate Talking: And where is he now?
- 18:43I Hate Talking: So I believe he's like 97 years old or something like that and uh still alive, I believe, but uh.
- 18:51I Hate Talking: Not necessarily in the public eye at that particular age.
- 18:55I Hate Talking: 93 years old is uh his age currently and uh his net worth according to Forbes is $1 billion.
- 19:02I Hate Talking: And what does he say?
- 19:05I Hate Talking: Has he publicly defended himself on any of this?
- 19:08I Hate Talking: Not that I've seen.
- 19:11I Hate Talking: I don't see, according to anything that I've read, uh, where he would.
- 19:15I Hate Talking: Neither confirm nor deny any of these particular accusations.
- 19:19I Hate Talking: I have seen some reports where he does say that this was like a planned medical appointment, um, but that's about it.
- 19:29I Hate Talking: Right.
- 19:30I Hate Talking: So either he's just the world's luckiest guy.
- 19:32I Hate Talking: And that actually is his nickname, according to conspiracy theorists, is Lucky Larry.
- 19:36I Hate Talking: Oh, I like that.
- 19:38I Hate Talking: We've been talking about the, the New York side of things.
- 19:43I Hate Talking: There is also the uh Some oddities around just the Pennsylvania plane as well as the Pentagon plane.
- 19:52I Hate Talking: Uh, for example, uh, I think that uh there was a number of phone calls that were made from people on the planes to loved ones, uh, that have some, um, Potentially strange anomalies just in terms of there not being any background noise, as well as them being uh for all intents and purposes calm compared to maybe what some would expect them to be, uh, in terms of their frantic or not frantic, uh, temperament.
- 20:22I Hate Talking: And then also, um, one particular call that I have not listened to in a very long time, but I seem to recall that.
- 20:31I Hate Talking: Uh, that particular woman said that it was quote unquote a frame and uh then the call ended after that.
- 20:38I Hate Talking: What would you mean by that?
- 20:40I Hate Talking: Uh, that it was like a setup that they framed this event and that it was not a real occurrence.
- 20:47I Hate Talking: But these people really did lose their lives though, right?
- 20:51I Hate Talking: I believe so.
- 20:52I Hate Talking: There are some, I think people on the fringe of the spectrum on conspiracy theory that believe that uh they would have been either on.
- 21:03I Hate Talking: A different plane or or somehow part of this, um, but I do not think that's the case.
- 21:09I Hate Talking: Uh, I think that perhaps they do that to maybe explain away what you were saying in terms of if this is a true event and people are basically sacrificing people's lives to accomplish their end is that they don't really want to believe that the people would be that evil, but uh they're.
- 21:29I Hate Talking: I think in my opinion, we're real people and they really, really did endure those events that took place that day.
- 21:37I Hate Talking: Yeah.
- 21:38I Hate Talking: So I mean, we should talk about that because we mentioned Lucky Larry.
- 21:42I Hate Talking: But these people that lost their lives weren't lucky, and their families.
- 21:48I Hate Talking: Lost them and their lives were forever changed.
- 21:51I Hate Talking: And all the military that then would go to war.
- 21:56I Hate Talking: For decades, And lose their lives or suffer just the horrors of war and have to come back.
- 22:04I Hate Talking: Afterwards These people aren't lucky.
- 22:08I Hate Talking: That is very true, and we definitely want to empathetic with that and uh that's why I think we do want to think back on the events of September 11th, um, but perhaps again, just with opportunity and ability to Discuss these things and determine how much we believe the official narrative versus the Potential unofficial theories that are out there, but yes, still definitely give a remembrance to those people that were either hurt or killed during these events.
- 22:50I Hate Talking: Mhm.
- 22:51I Hate Talking: And I think it's good to talk about one, just critically thinking about what are the other options, but not being critical for the sake of being critical.
- 23:02I Hate Talking: I think, uh, and just being mean and not wanting to trust people, but just saying, hey, Does this make sense?
- 23:11I Hate Talking: And not just being willing to believe everything that is said to us, doing our research and Using our brains to think about this, um, Instead of just letting Anyone and everyone say something that makes us sway back and forth.
- 23:27I Hate Talking: Precisely, so this is something that uh we've been a little bit all over the place in this episode.
- 23:34I Hate Talking: Uh, so perhaps not as organized as other things, but I think that having these discussions does help us organize our thoughts around what we actually think and believe, as well as what we see within a variety of sources of media and reports and things of that nature, and through these conversations, we can come to either better conclusions or we can refine our conclusions or completely change them altogether.
- 23:58I Hate Talking: Yeah.
- 23:59I Hate Talking: And to your point, this is just one of the things that may be in that conspiracy themed realm.
- 24:06I Hate Talking: So if you have enjoyed this episode, feel free to like and share it with others and give us some feedback, maybe we will do some other conspiracy related topics.
- 24:16I Hate Talking: Uh, there's many, I think that are in more recent history, but you could go back even further in history to uh talk about a number of different conspiracy theories such as Uh, pyramids, who built them.
- 24:32I Hate Talking: Uh, was there a global flood and catastrophe?
- 24:37I Hate Talking: Was there people that stole the body of Jesus?
- 24:41I Hate Talking: And in more recent history, right, there's a lot that come to mind to the JFK assassination, the Trump assassination, events related to The Las Vegas shooting.
- 24:53I Hate Talking: COVID-19.
- 24:55I Hate Talking: So there's a number of just off the right off the top of my head that I can think of that uh may be of interest to our listeners, you can let us know.
- 25:02I Hate Talking: Yeah, sounds great.
- 25:03I Hate Talking: That would be fun.
- 25:04I Hate Talking: So, from your friends at IH Talking, until next time, remember, it is only through talking that we begin the journey to understanding.
