- 2:42Speaker 3: Regatta kicks off tomorrow, but Regatta not the only big
- 2:45Speaker 3: event going on for the fourth City of Hurricane. Is
- 2:47Speaker 3: big doings going on to joining us not to talk
- 2:49Speaker 3: about it. Hurricane Mayor Scott Edwards along with Amanda Smith Raymie,
- 2:52Speaker 3: marketing director for the City of Hurricane. Good morning, folks,
- 2:55Speaker 3: welcome to the show.
- 2:56Speaker 5: Hey, good morning, my friend, how are you doing.
- 2:58Speaker 3: I am doing fine.
- 2:59Speaker 5: Is a there too or just you oh ill know
- 3:02Speaker 5: me and amand are both here absolutely?
- 3:04Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, all right, I want to make sure that
- 3:05Speaker 3: the important one, Amanda, is there.
- 3:07Speaker 5: Okay, absolutely, you know that, all right?
- 3:10Speaker 3: Mayor So first of all, I guess off the top,
- 3:13Speaker 3: we need to remind folks that the celebration for the
- 3:15Speaker 3: city of Hurricane is in a new It's in a
- 3:18Speaker 3: new place. Talk about that new place.
- 3:20Speaker 5: Yeah, it's at our Hurricane Bridge Park, which is which
- 3:24Speaker 5: is just right behind the First Baptist Church of Hurricane.
- 3:27Speaker 5: There's a huge sign on Main Street that says Hurricane
- 3:29Speaker 5: Bridge Park. And if you people have been by there,
- 3:31Speaker 5: it's where our four baseball softball fields, the Putnam County
- 3:36Speaker 5: Bank Sports Complex is, and our disc GoF and playground
- 3:40Speaker 5: and all that. It's a new, fairly new park. It's
- 3:41Speaker 5: a couple of years old, but that's where all the
- 3:43Speaker 5: events will be.
- 3:45Speaker 3: So why why the move? I mean, I would imagine
- 3:48Speaker 3: because it's just a better area.
- 3:49Speaker 5: Right, it's a it's a better area. We want we
- 3:52Speaker 5: want more people to see what, you know, our ten
- 3:55Speaker 5: million dollar park. But also at the end of the event,
- 3:58Speaker 5: it's it's from five to ten pm. You stay there
- 4:01Speaker 5: and you have the best possible view of the fireworks,
- 4:04Speaker 5: which is just over on the next ridge line. I
- 4:06Speaker 5: mean absolutely, there's no better place anywhere on the planet
- 4:09Speaker 5: to watch those fireworks than from Hurricane Bridge Park.
- 4:12Speaker 3: And tell us about some of the other stuff that's
- 4:14Speaker 3: that's going to be going on.
- 4:16Speaker 5: Well, our parade is at four o'clock this year, and
- 4:19Speaker 5: it's actually not even like to sign up and that
- 4:21Speaker 5: sounds crazy. We'll take sign up until the very end.
- 4:24Speaker 5: But four o'clock it kicks off and it'll it'll be
- 4:28Speaker 5: down Midland Trail in front of in front of the
- 4:30Speaker 5: middle school and down Main Street and end at the
- 4:33Speaker 5: at the venue for the for the event. So Main
- 4:37Speaker 5: Street and Midland Trail are the best places to watch it.
- 4:40Speaker 5: And it's gonna be a bigger parade this year than
- 4:42Speaker 5: it was last year. We've had lots of people sign
- 4:44Speaker 5: up and uh and let's write to the event if if,
- 4:48Speaker 5: if we can do that. I always like this, I
- 4:49Speaker 5: always like to say this. Everything we do, please, events
- 4:53Speaker 5: we do in Hurricane are free, free, free, and I
- 4:55Speaker 5: want to say thank you to There's there's lots of
- 4:59Speaker 5: sponsor but our three main Platinum super Platinum Awesome. Sponsors
- 5:04Speaker 5: this year Putnam County Bank, Best Virginia Heating and Cooling,
- 5:09Speaker 5: and Family Wealth Group. Those three companies have stepped up huge,
- 5:14Speaker 5: so we need to thank them and plus all the
- 5:17Speaker 5: other sponsors. But some of the free stuff that we'll
- 5:20Speaker 5: have huskies, ice cream. I think last year we gave
- 5:23Speaker 5: way fifty five hundred ice cream, cones, cotton candy, snow cones, watermelon.
- 5:30Speaker 5: There's gonna be plenty of things for the kids, you know,
- 5:32Speaker 5: inflatables and slides and games. There's actually be a petting zoo.
- 5:35Speaker 5: I think that's your favorite part, right.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I love animal not so much on people
- 5:41Speaker 3: that I like.
- 5:42Speaker 5: Animals, the petting zoo. And we have upclose magic with
- 5:46Speaker 5: mark Wood. Everybody, a lot of kids and families, no
- 5:48Speaker 5: mark Wood. My favorite thing that's happening this year is
- 5:51Speaker 5: there's a hair glam station. We can get our get
- 5:54Speaker 5: my hair all glammed up looking good, and and some
- 5:57Speaker 5: sand art and put putt and much free fund.
- 6:01Speaker 3: All right, hold on, hold on now, now, maryor Edwards,
- 6:03Speaker 3: with all due respect, you're gonna get your hair done.
- 6:06Speaker 5: Really, I'm not going to get my hair done. I
- 6:09Speaker 5: don't even left to get done. But I might, I
- 6:10Speaker 5: might see what the what the what the folks can
- 6:13Speaker 5: do to my hair?
- 6:14Speaker 3: You're gonna get your head done, is what you're gonna get.
- 6:16Speaker 3: I don't know about getting your.
- 6:16Speaker 5: Hair downe get my head painted? Maybe?
- 6:19Speaker 3: There you go, there you go in hurricane in Hurricane colors,
- 6:22Speaker 3: in the Hurricane redskin gear. Right.
- 6:24Speaker 5: Absolutely, it's all red.
- 6:25Speaker 3: You know that. Absolutely.
- 6:26Speaker 5: Hey, we're also gonna give away one thousand free uh
- 6:28Speaker 5: free Independence Date T shirts as well.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Well, that's good, I mean that's and again, if the
- 6:33Speaker 3: sponsors are the ones that make this whole thing possible.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Uh and if you I know you mentioned the main sponsors,
- 6:39Speaker 3: I know you've got a bunch more. Actually shared information
- 6:41Speaker 3: about it over on my social media page on the
- 6:43Speaker 3: Dave Island Radio Facebook so you can see who all
- 6:45Speaker 3: the sponsors are. But without without the sponsors, none of
- 6:47Speaker 3: these activities happen.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Mare.
- 6:49Speaker 5: Absolutely. Now I've got a question for you. Have you
- 6:51Speaker 5: ever had a Farley Hot Dog? Oh?
- 6:53Speaker 3: Yeah, of course I have, so I know I know
- 6:56Speaker 3: you have.
- 6:57Speaker 5: So they're sponsoring are It's the Farley's Hot Aughty eating
- 7:01Speaker 5: contest at seven o'clock at seven pm and our winner
- 7:07Speaker 5: from last year and he's won a few years. Well,
- 7:10Speaker 5: his nickname is the Wiener Eater. Okay, everybody needs to
- 7:13Speaker 5: come out and watch the Wiener Eater. My friend Jason
- 7:16Speaker 5: Dile wh'll he may win again this year. I think
- 7:19Speaker 5: he usually teens fifteen sixteen hot dogs in five minutes
- 7:23Speaker 5: and it's pretty nat watched sometimes that it's fun to watch.
- 7:26Speaker 5: So some of those guys dip the dip the buns
- 7:29Speaker 5: and all that and all that good stuff.
- 7:31Speaker 6: And that's part of our free live entertainment.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Absolutely, yeah, go ahead, go ahead.
- 7:38Speaker 6: I'm gonna say. Also, we have a concert. We got
- 7:40Speaker 6: to make sure we plug Rewind the Walkman at eight thirty.
- 7:43Speaker 3: And I've actually worked some shows MCD a couple of
- 7:46Speaker 3: events with Rewind the Walkman. They're a fantastic group. I mean,
- 7:49Speaker 3: they really really are. If you like good old party music,
- 7:51Speaker 3: good eighties music, and a little bit of retro, they're
- 7:54Speaker 3: a fantastic group. I mean the name is Rewind the Walkman,
- 7:57Speaker 3: and mayor you and I am a man as much
- 7:59Speaker 3: younger than we are, but you and I around the
- 8:00Speaker 3: same age. We remember rewinding tapes and we remember Walkman's we.
- 8:06Speaker 5: Do we do, And I'm hoping for some deaf Leopard
- 8:08Speaker 5: maybe some pots people around town. They said, did they
- 8:10Speaker 5: play bon Jovi? I said, I have no idea. I said,
- 8:12Speaker 5: I know they play all the eighty stuff and it's
- 8:14Speaker 5: going to be awesome.
- 8:15Speaker 6: Yep. And of course we'll have some bleachers there, but
- 8:17Speaker 6: people can also bring their own blanket, your chairs and
- 8:20Speaker 6: set up to watch the concert from eight thirty to
- 8:23Speaker 6: ten and then the fireworks start at ten.
- 8:25Speaker 3: That's what the thing I wanted to ask is that
- 8:26Speaker 3: people needed to bring their own chairs and stuff. I guys,
- 8:28Speaker 3: because sometimes.
- 8:29Speaker 5: They should, and that you know, they should make an
- 8:32Speaker 5: evening of it, even if they don't show up at five.
- 8:34Speaker 5: If they show up at say seven, say seven to
- 8:37Speaker 5: ten for the event and then stay from ten to
- 8:40Speaker 5: ten thirty for the fireworks, they are going to be
- 8:43Speaker 5: phenomenal this year, best fireworks we've ever had, absolutely huge, phenomenal.
- 8:48Speaker 5: And we will have a shuttle available to to get
- 8:53Speaker 5: people back and forth, and Amanda will talk about where
- 8:55Speaker 5: those locations are.
- 8:56Speaker 6: All right, Amanda, you're on, Yeah, so we've got We've
- 8:59Speaker 6: got I'm parking of course there at the event and
- 9:02Speaker 6: First Baptist Church right below the event space. We'll have
- 9:05Speaker 6: some parking for us. But if you don't want to
- 9:07Speaker 6: do all of that and you just want to park
- 9:09Speaker 6: and be shuttled the other end of the bridge park,
- 9:12Speaker 6: which is on the Midland Trail side, you can park
- 9:16Speaker 6: there and the school bus will shuttle you over back
- 9:18Speaker 6: and forth all night long.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Well that's good. And sometimes people don't want to get
- 9:22Speaker 3: caught up in all that traffic and stuff. And one thing,
- 9:24Speaker 3: one thing we know about in Hurricane and tays Valley
- 9:26Speaker 3: Mayor's traffic, Well.
- 9:29Speaker 5: There is traffic and there's nothing, and that's that's that's
- 9:33Speaker 5: another another call we can.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Yes, that's a running joke between me and you.
- 9:37Speaker 5: We're talking about celebrating our end of Absolutely, that's what
- 9:40Speaker 5: we're talking about.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Absolute.
- 9:41Speaker 5: You're not gonna take me down that first.
- 9:43Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, not at all not. I'll be
- 9:44Speaker 3: you and I are on the same page on that
- 9:46Speaker 3: stuff anyway. But I appreciate to you folks being here.
- 9:49Speaker 3: And again Mayor and Amanda run over the times and
- 9:52Speaker 3: everything for the City of Verriican for the July celebration.
- 9:54Speaker 3: In case somebody tuned in.
- 9:55Speaker 5: Late yeah, parade four o'clock on Main Street. You can
- 9:59Speaker 5: also watch it from the Midland Trail side over by
- 10:01Speaker 5: Hurricane Middle School. That's four to five huge parade and
- 10:05Speaker 5: then the event all three five to ten pm with
- 10:08Speaker 5: all the free stuff, ice cream, cotton, candy, hair, GLAMs
- 10:11Speaker 5: and putt all the free stuff. Seven pm the far
- 10:15Speaker 5: least hot dog eating contest. You can come and watch
- 10:18Speaker 5: the Wiener Eater and then rewind the Walkman concert from
- 10:21Speaker 5: eight thirty to about just right at ten o'clock and
- 10:24Speaker 5: then the fireworks will go off at ten o'clock and
- 10:27Speaker 5: they're going to be huge as well.
- 10:28Speaker 3: And you got information available on the City Hurricane Facebook page,
- 10:32Speaker 3: I'm sure, and again I shared the I've been sharing
- 10:34Speaker 3: stuff on my radio page Day Island Radio as well.
- 10:37Speaker 3: It's going to be a great time there in Hurricane
- 10:40Speaker 3: and Amanda and Mayor Edwards. Always a pleasure to talk

- 13:51Speaker 3: coming this week from the folks on the hill at
- 13:53Speaker 3: West Virginia International Geager Airport. DOMINIQ. Grenary' is the CEO
- 13:56Speaker 3: and she joined us in studio this morning. Good morning,
- 13:58Speaker 3: Welcome to the show.
- 13:59Speaker 9: Good morning Dave, thanks for having me, Thank you.
- 14:01Speaker 3: For being here. Lots of big announcements over the last
- 14:03Speaker 3: couple of days.
- 14:04Speaker 9: Summer is always a really busy time at CRW, but
- 14:07Speaker 9: this summer especially, so yesterday we broke ground on an
- 14:11Speaker 9: eight point three million dollar ga Apron expansion. And when
- 14:15Speaker 9: I say GA, I mean general aviation, So the non
- 14:18Speaker 9: commercial flight side of the airport.
- 14:20Speaker 3: And why was this important that you needed?
- 14:22Speaker 9: Then we are out of parking spots believed or not
- 14:24Speaker 9: for aircraft, So that side of the airport supports military,
- 14:28Speaker 9: it supports the Bill No Marshall University Flight School, and
- 14:31Speaker 9: then all the private aviation that comes in to Charleston,
- 14:35Speaker 9: so we need more parking spots. It'll enhance safety and
- 14:39Speaker 9: it also is a big stormwater detention improvement as well
- 14:42Speaker 9: to that side of the field.
- 14:44Speaker 3: And you're listening to what people ask for here with this, right,
- 14:46Speaker 3: I mean, and I want to talk about the Bill
- 14:48Speaker 3: No Flight School just for a moment. I mean, I mean,
- 14:52Speaker 3: this is an incredible thing for this part of the world,
- 14:55Speaker 3: and I mean there are a lot of students that
- 14:57Speaker 3: are taking part in this. And I will say and
- 15:01Speaker 3: we'll be telling you more about this as we get
- 15:02Speaker 3: a little bit closer. But in August we always do
- 15:04Speaker 3: the paint the Capital City Green event up at the
- 15:06Speaker 3: Bill and no Flight School, that's right, and so a
- 15:08Speaker 3: lot of folks will be out there for that. Steve
- 15:10Speaker 3: Animal from the Mountain and myself will be serving as
- 15:12Speaker 3: the MCS again this year, and a lot of people
- 15:16Speaker 3: get an opportunity to walk around the aircraft. And so
- 15:18Speaker 3: I'm just saying that to say, if you're planning on
- 15:20Speaker 3: going to that big event that sells out every year,
- 15:22Speaker 3: give an opportunity to see what's going on up here,
- 15:24Speaker 3: because there's a lot of exciting things happening.
- 15:26Speaker 9: That's right. No pressure to our contractors. Land Corps is
- 15:29Speaker 9: working on that project for us, So hopefully by that
- 15:32Speaker 9: big green event, you'll be looking at some fresh pavement
- 15:34Speaker 9: outside of the Marshall University hangar.
- 15:37Speaker 3: So again, one of the things I think is interesting
- 15:41Speaker 3: about the airport and about the way that things have
- 15:44Speaker 3: happened over the last couple of years. It just seemed
- 15:46Speaker 3: like every month there's a new announcement coming out about something.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Either it's a new flight or it's these expansions talk
- 15:52Speaker 3: about the growth of the airport.
- 15:53Speaker 9: The team has been very busy, and this is all
- 15:56Speaker 9: due to the support we're getting on the federal level
- 15:59Speaker 9: on the state line and from our local leaders. The
- 16:02Speaker 9: FAA funds airport projects for airports are size at ninety
- 16:06Speaker 9: five percent, so it's a great opportunity for the state
- 16:09Speaker 9: to bring in these great projects to expand our infrastructure
- 16:12Speaker 9: at the airport and have most of it paid for
- 16:15Speaker 9: on the federal level. We come up with the five
- 16:17Speaker 9: percent match locally and that we get some help from
- 16:20Speaker 9: the state and then we get some help from airport funds.
- 16:24Speaker 9: So not only have we announced this groundbreaking of the
- 16:27Speaker 9: general Aviation apron yesterday, but today the project for the
- 16:32Speaker 9: terminal renovation went out to bid. So that is another
- 16:35Speaker 9: amazing enhancement on the commercial side of the airport where
- 16:39Speaker 9: we're going to do a improvement of all of the
- 16:42Speaker 9: pre security areas at the airport. As you know, it's
- 16:45Speaker 9: a very old building, seventy eight years old. It has
- 16:49Speaker 9: been updated many times and it's time for a refresh
- 16:53Speaker 9: to make it a better passenger experience for everyone who's
- 16:56Speaker 9: traveling through the area.
- 16:57Speaker 3: And what are some of the things that you'll be
- 16:58Speaker 3: upgrading there.
- 17:00Speaker 9: Flooring, We're going to do the ticket lobby, all new
- 17:03Speaker 9: ticket counters for our airline partners, we're going to enhance
- 17:07Speaker 9: the baggage claim area and we're going to include all
- 17:10Speaker 9: new flooring throughout. If you've ever had your roller board
- 17:13Speaker 9: in the ticket lobby, you know how noisy it can
- 17:16Speaker 9: be when you're catching that five am flight because of
- 17:18Speaker 9: that textured tile. So we're going to really update it
- 17:20Speaker 9: with Torazo. But it's not just aesthetics. This project actually
- 17:25Speaker 9: is focused on making it less expensive for airlines to
- 17:28Speaker 9: operate at our airport because we're switching a lot of
- 17:30Speaker 9: the technology that they use and making everything at the
- 17:33Speaker 9: airport much more flexible, so they only use the space
- 17:36Speaker 9: they need, un Thus they're only paying for the space
- 17:39Speaker 9: that they need.
- 17:40Speaker 3: I'm talking to Dominic Grenaria, the CEO of a West
- 17:42Speaker 3: Virginia International Yeager Airport nine twenty four to the Dave
- 17:44Speaker 3: Island Show on five eighty Live is Brown Team, part
- 17:47Speaker 3: by Morgan and Morgan. America's largest injury law firm if
- 17:49Speaker 3: You're injured is Forethpeople dot Com. What's some of the
- 17:52Speaker 3: new technology that's out there in the world of airporting.
- 17:55Speaker 9: So we're going to get into some technical terms and
- 17:57Speaker 9: I'll do my best to explain it. But common use
- 18:00Speaker 9: technology is the trend at all of the bigger airports
- 18:02Speaker 9: that you go to, so you see a lot more
- 18:04Speaker 9: digital signage instead of fixed signs for your airline. That
- 18:09Speaker 9: means that any airline can use that counter to operate
- 18:12Speaker 9: its flight, and that means that they're not paying constant
- 18:15Speaker 9: rent on it. So this is the way the airport
- 18:18Speaker 9: can work to attract more flights more airlines is by
- 18:23Speaker 9: making that technology ready to go so someone can just
- 18:26Speaker 9: come in and plug and play if you will.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Okay, And again, this technology is always always changing. And
- 18:33Speaker 3: somebody one of the previous times you were on the show,
- 18:36Speaker 3: somebody has sent a text and I think you had
- 18:37Speaker 3: already gone, but they wanted to know about eateries or
- 18:41Speaker 3: food and things like that at the airport. Yeah, what's
- 18:44Speaker 3: going on with it?
- 18:44Speaker 9: So we are actually hoping to add some more pre
- 18:47Speaker 9: security options during this renovation as well. Hopefully it's some
- 18:51Speaker 9: coffee for those getting there early for those flights or
- 18:53Speaker 9: waiting for their loved ones to come in on flights.
- 18:57Speaker 9: And then there will also be enhancements of our or
- 19:00Speaker 9: post security options when we get to move on to
- 19:02Speaker 9: the next phase of the renovation, which will attend to
- 19:06Speaker 9: all of the things post the security checkpoint.
- 19:10Speaker 3: What as far as marketing the airport, because I mean
- 19:13Speaker 3: that's part of what you do. You have a great
- 19:15Speaker 3: team up there, but part of what you do. And
- 19:17Speaker 3: you know there are those people that say, well, I
- 19:18Speaker 3: would rather just you know, drive to Pittsburgh, or I'd
- 19:20Speaker 3: rather just drive to Columbus or whatever the case. How
- 19:23Speaker 3: do you go about marketing people and maybe changing people's
- 19:25Speaker 3: minds when it comes to them.
- 19:27Speaker 9: Our marketing team really focuses on the education and focusing
- 19:31Speaker 9: on considering how much your time is worth. So, yes,
- 19:35Speaker 9: you can you can drive to another airport and you
- 19:38Speaker 9: might get a direct flight out of there, but you
- 19:40Speaker 9: also have to consider your time to drive there, the
- 19:43Speaker 9: wear and tear on your car and your vehicle going
- 19:45Speaker 9: to and from parking is substantially more expensive at any
- 19:49Speaker 9: of the surrounding airports and the surrounding states. And doing
- 19:53Speaker 9: that calculation to realize that it is always a better
- 19:56Speaker 9: bet to use our airport, and we also so educate
- 20:00Speaker 9: the public and the only way to retain the flights
- 20:04Speaker 9: we have and attract.
- 20:05Speaker 3: More direct flights is if people use what we have.
- 20:09Speaker 9: The airlines can see where your home zip code is,
- 20:12Speaker 9: so if they see a ton of West Virginia zip
- 20:15Speaker 9: codes traveling out of other states airports, They're going to say, well,
- 20:18Speaker 9: we're not losing their business. They're just driving someplace else
- 20:21Speaker 9: to get the flight, and that only hurts the airports
- 20:24Speaker 9: in our state.
- 20:25Speaker 3: The Dave Allen showing five aniline brought to you in
- 20:26Speaker 3: part by Bridge Valley offering custom tailored trainings to supply
- 20:29Speaker 3: of skilled graduate set apprenticeships for your company. Visit Bridge
- 20:32Speaker 3: Valley dot EEDU had a text here somebody ask about
- 20:35Speaker 3: the other plans to update the bathrooms.
- 20:37Speaker 9: Yes, so bathrooms are already underway on the pre security side.
- 20:41Speaker 9: They should be open in the next few weeks, which
- 20:43Speaker 9: is going to be great. They are modeled after all
- 20:46Speaker 9: the refreshed bathrooms that the highway rest stops. If you've
- 20:49Speaker 9: been into the Beckley rest stop, they're going to look
- 20:51Speaker 9: very similar. We also added a second bag belt already
- 20:55Speaker 9: as part of this project that is already open and operational,
- 20:59Speaker 9: so that's enhanced seeing the passenger experience as well. And
- 21:03Speaker 9: then everything is going to look very fresh and brand new.
- 21:07Speaker 9: But we're also going to have an opportunity to focus
- 21:09Speaker 9: on bringing in really West Virginia products and materials and art.
- 21:15Speaker 9: We are going to do a big push to get
- 21:17Speaker 9: some local West Virginia art into that.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Well that would be awesome. I mean, so with that way,
- 21:21Speaker 3: when people come in here, they say, well, we're in
- 21:23Speaker 3: West Virginia. Now that's right for sure. Texa says how
- 21:26Speaker 3: wide are airplane seats and how do you go about
- 21:29Speaker 3: getting seat belt extenders?
- 21:31Speaker 9: So every airline has a different spec on their seats.
- 21:35Speaker 9: I encourage the texture to go to their particular airlines
- 21:38Speaker 9: website for full dimensions because it'll vary on the aircraft.
- 21:41Speaker 9: And if you ask your flight attendant when you're boarding
- 21:43Speaker 9: the aircraft for that seat belt extender, they will help
- 21:46Speaker 9: you out with that, no problem.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Well before we let you go, because the questions we
- 21:50Speaker 3: always get and probably the questions that you most get,
- 21:53Speaker 3: I mean, the updates and all this other stuff is
- 21:55Speaker 3: very important. But people want to know what about new flights?
- 21:57Speaker 3: What about that? What are you adding any plans at
- 22:02Speaker 3: this time?
- 22:03Speaker 9: Anything you can tell, So I'll put it that way,
- 22:04Speaker 9: So Dave, I encourage those folks that send you those
- 22:08Speaker 9: text messages to follow along on our social media at
- 22:11Speaker 9: fly CRW. We are going to have some exciting announcements
- 22:15Speaker 9: within the coming weeks and hopefully I can come back
- 22:18Speaker 9: and chat through them once they're out. But I also dave,
- 22:21Speaker 9: they won't let me back into the airport if I
- 22:23Speaker 9: don't tell all of your listeners that it is fourth
- 22:26Speaker 9: of July travel week. So we encourage all of our
- 22:29Speaker 9: passengers that might be flying through to check to make
- 22:33Speaker 9: sure they have that real ID, which we've talked about
- 22:35Speaker 9: quite a bit, and also to check with their airline
- 22:37Speaker 9: before traveling to the airport. They're expecting quite a bit
- 22:42Speaker 9: of weather unfortunately.
- 22:43Speaker 3: So that was a major problem last week. I mean,
- 22:47Speaker 3: my co host Amanda Baron was flying back from Florida,
- 22:50Speaker 3: and so I think she was delayed, like by twenty
- 22:51Speaker 3: four hours by the time that she was flying.
- 22:54Speaker 9: It has been a very active thunderstorm season. So we
- 22:57Speaker 9: encourage everybody, like I said, to check with their airline
- 22:59Speaker 9: before traveling to the airport and pack their patients, and again,
- 23:04Speaker 9: always show up a little bit early to the airport
- 23:06Speaker 9: for those TSA lines that might be a little bit
- 23:08Speaker 9: longer than usual.
- 23:09Speaker 3: And how has the whole real ID thing gone.
- 23:11Speaker 9: Actually very smoothly. We are all very pleased with how
- 23:15Speaker 9: TSA has really staffed up to handle having to do
- 23:19Speaker 9: a little bit of extra screening for those who might
- 23:21Speaker 9: not have that real idea yet, but they've had a
- 23:25Speaker 9: great experience at our airport as far as being able
- 23:27Speaker 9: to get out without huge delays.
- 23:30Speaker 3: All right, Tominie, is always a pleasure to have you
- 23:32Speaker 3: on the show. And a happy, happy Independence Day for
- 23:36Speaker 3: you and your family and where you may be going

- 28:30Speaker 3: going to be here in studio with us. I got
- 28:33Speaker 3: several things we're going to talk to mister Manchin about,
- 28:37Speaker 3: possibly his take on The Big Beautiful Bill and what
- 28:40Speaker 3: he's doing outside and does he miss Washington. I'm gonna
- 28:43Speaker 3: go ahead answer that for you. The answer is no,
- 28:46Speaker 3: because he's the one that famously said that it sucked.
- 28:49Speaker 3: But maybe he does just a little bit. Then what's
- 28:51Speaker 3: Joe been up to in the private sector as well.
- 28:53Speaker 3: He'll be joining us on the show today. Also Taylor Richmond,

- 29:01Speaker 3: is celebrating a birthday today, So happy birthday to mister Sussman.
- 29:04Speaker 3: He's going to celebrate it with me during the two
- 29:06Speaker 3: o'clock hour on Metro News at midday. And sadly we
- 29:10Speaker 3: lost a member of the Greatest generation. His name was
- 29:13Speaker 3: Julian Sockman and he just passed away at the age
- 29:16Speaker 3: of one hundred and two. He was a veteran the
- 29:19Speaker 3: Battle of the Bulge and of interest to me, he
- 29:23Speaker 3: was believed to be the oldest living graduate of Marshall
- 29:28Speaker 3: University and so we got some folks from his family
- 29:31Speaker 3: that he will joined us. I had an opportunity to
- 29:32Speaker 3: meet him a couple of years ago. I was talking
- 29:34Speaker 3: with Dominique about about to paint the Capital city green
- 29:38Speaker 3: event the annual Marshall event up at the bill No
- 29:40Speaker 3: Flight School at the airport, and that's where I first
- 29:43Speaker 3: met mister Simon. He never missed the event and he
- 29:47Speaker 3: was there and I got to meet him and shake
- 29:48Speaker 3: his hand, to talk to him and just a life
- 29:52Speaker 3: well lived. And he passed away it again at the
- 29:54Speaker 3: age of one hundred and two, and so some of
- 29:56Speaker 3: his family members are going to join us to talk
- 29:58Speaker 3: about his life on the show, and of course we'll
- 30:00Speaker 3: do open line. West Virginia Metro News Midday is powered

- 30:09Speaker 3: zero four three four five fifty eight fifty eight. Tony
- 30:11Speaker 3: of the Taylor Text three zero four nine three five
- 30:14Speaker 3: five zero zero eight. So a couple of things in
- 30:16Speaker 3: the news here yesterday, The big beautiful bill passed the
- 30:20Speaker 3: Senate and now ahead to the House, and I'm we're
- 30:22Speaker 3: going to get into this a little bit more on
- 30:24Speaker 3: Midday with a few of our guests today, including Tom
- 30:26Speaker 3: Sussman and also Senator I'm always going to call him
- 30:30Speaker 3: Senator Mansion. And but you know, there were some questions
- 30:35Speaker 3: as far as the as the timing goes. The bill
- 30:40Speaker 3: passed the Senate with the breaking with with the tire
- 30:44Speaker 3: breaking vote cast by Vice President JD. Vance and shortly thereafter,
- 30:49Speaker 3: Senator Shelley Moore Capito, who of course was a yes vote,
- 30:53Speaker 3: announced that the Trump administration would like to have her
- 30:56Speaker 3: son More Capito as the US Attorney for the Southern District.
- 31:00Speaker 3: The timing of that coming with somewhere like thirty minutes
- 31:06Speaker 3: or so on the Senate vote seemed odd to some,
- 31:11Speaker 3: but let's be honest here, Okay, Senator Capito was going
- 31:16Speaker 3: to be a yes vote no matter what, and more
- 31:19Speaker 3: Capito was going to get that ask from the Trump
- 31:23Speaker 3: administration no matter what. So I really I don't think
- 31:27Speaker 3: there's been much to do about it. I know the
- 31:29Speaker 3: news broke just after we just started Metro News midday yesterday,
- 31:32Speaker 3: and that news broke, and of course the tax line
- 31:34Speaker 3: lit up with it. And if you've checked out your
- 31:37Speaker 3: social media over the last almost twenty four hours now,
- 31:41Speaker 3: since those two things happened, in people saying that you know,
- 31:47Speaker 3: a deal was struck, what look I mean, Senator Shelley
- 31:51Speaker 3: Moore Capita was going to be a yes vote, no
- 31:53Speaker 3: matter what. If more Capita wasn't her son, if his
- 31:56Speaker 3: name was mor Smith, she was still going to be
- 31:59Speaker 3: a yes vote on that. And it's been widely rumored
- 32:04Speaker 3: for some time that more Capital was going to be
- 32:06Speaker 3: tapped by the Trump administration to possibly, if he's confirmed,
- 32:09Speaker 3: get that appointment to that US Attorney seat for the
- 32:14Speaker 3: Southern District. So I really don't think that the two
- 32:17Speaker 3: had anything to do with each other, to be honest
- 32:19Speaker 3: with you, because again, if there had been a question
- 32:23Speaker 3: as to whether Senator Capita would be a yes vote
- 32:26Speaker 3: on that yes or no vote, I think maybe, but
- 32:31Speaker 3: it was gonna have Both of those things were going
- 32:32Speaker 3: to happen regardless. So I really don't think the two
- 32:37Speaker 3: of those things had anything to do with each other.
- 32:40Speaker 3: I will say this though, and this is strictly the
- 32:44Speaker 3: pr guy coming out in me and the optics coming out.
- 32:48Speaker 3: I might and I'm not trying to question the people
- 32:52Speaker 3: with the Senator capitol Camp, I might have done things
- 32:55Speaker 3: a little bit differently. Nobody they didn't ask my opinion,
- 32:57Speaker 3: By the way, if I were involved, I am. I
- 33:01Speaker 3: had time that a little differently, just saying but again,
- 33:06Speaker 3: the two things are absolutely unrelated. Again, Shelley was going
- 33:12Speaker 3: to be a yes vote, more Capital was going to
- 33:13Speaker 3: get that appointment, or at least a chance of that appointment.
- 33:16Speaker 3: So in the words, if you're going to say that
- 33:18Speaker 3: there was a deal struck or whatever, in the words
- 33:20Speaker 3: of my good friend Pastor Marlon Collins, missed me with

- 33:56Speaker 3: some text here. Text says, well, well, well, state workers
- 34:01Speaker 3: get the day off on July third. I guess patty
- 34:04Speaker 3: boy found some money after scrooging the Juneteenth holiday. It
- 34:09Speaker 3: looks bad, Governor Morrissey. This looks like number This is
- 34:13Speaker 3: the text number one that you don't care about government hierarchy.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Number two you don't care much for black people, and
- 34:19Speaker 3: number three you We don't really need the personal insults here,
- 34:26Speaker 3: but it basically it says you're looking for approval from
- 34:28Speaker 3: people who think you're the best worst option. That was
- 34:31Speaker 3: the other thing of note in this whole thing. So
- 34:40Speaker 3: in case you're not familiar with the story. Late yesterday afternoon,
- 34:42Speaker 3: the governor announced that tomorrow, July third, will be a
- 34:47Speaker 3: state holiday, so state workers will get tomorrow off as
- 34:51Speaker 3: well as Friday and returning to work on Monday. Where
- 34:55Speaker 3: the issue here seems to be the that federal holiday
- 35:02Speaker 3: on June teenth was not given as a day off
- 35:05Speaker 3: and a lot of people are upset about that. And
- 35:08Speaker 3: again going back to social media, if you go back
- 35:10Speaker 3: and look at social media feed, you'll see that it's
- 35:14Speaker 3: simply in my opinion, and again just my opinion, I
- 35:18Speaker 3: would much rather hear yours. It's just not a good
- 35:23Speaker 3: look from an optic standpoint from the governor's office. And
- 35:29Speaker 3: it begs the question if if it was going to
- 35:33Speaker 3: be an issue of money, as the governor said, and
- 35:37Speaker 3: work productivity, taking the holiday off in Juneteenth, which is
- 35:42Speaker 3: a federal holiday, why is it suddenly okay now? And
- 35:49Speaker 3: I just I think it's a I think it's an
- 35:53Speaker 3: optics issue. And again that's the pr guy talking to me.
- 35:56Speaker 3: I just can't. I just don't think it looks good, Governor.
- 36:01Speaker 3: And it seems to me that sometimes Republicans can't get
- 36:07Speaker 3: out of their own way. Uh, they get all this
- 36:10Speaker 3: power now in Charleston. And I mean West Virginia is
- 36:17Speaker 3: obviously a red state. It's Trump state. That's not going
- 36:20Speaker 3: to change anytime soon, no matter how many protests you
- 36:22Speaker 3: have whatever. And people on social media saying, I, well,
- 36:25Speaker 3: remember this now, it's not going to make a difference.
- 36:27Speaker 3: It's not going to make We want to encourage everybody
- 36:29Speaker 3: to vote, but it's not going to make a difference whatsoever.
- 36:32Speaker 3: I just don't. I just thought when I saw that
- 36:35Speaker 3: announcement come down yesterday from the Governor's office, I thought, uh,
- 36:37Speaker 3: oh this this is not good. And you kind of
- 36:42Speaker 3: put that with the timing of the Shelley Moore Capitol announcement,
- 36:46Speaker 3: and look, she's very proud mom. I I and I
- 36:50Speaker 3: have no doubt, one hundred percent understand that. And I
- 36:52Speaker 3: have no doubt that if he is named to that
- 36:54Speaker 3: position that more Capitol will do a great job in that.
- 36:58Speaker 3: I just I think maybe maybe Republicans need a director
- 37:05Speaker 3: of Optics and for some and I'm not applying for
- 37:09Speaker 3: the job, by the way, uh and maybe somebody to say, yeah,
- 37:11Speaker 3: you know, that's that's not a good look. It's not
- 37:16Speaker 3: a good look. Tex says people who think Capito engaged
- 37:20Speaker 3: in quid pro crow. I always have difficulty with that
- 37:23Speaker 3: quid pro quote. Are left wing conspiracy theorists on the
- 37:27Speaker 3: same level as the wackos who believe and they stop
- 37:30Speaker 3: the steel foolishness. They're all the same as a texture.
- 37:36Speaker 3: Texas says, being a suck up doesn't suit you. I
- 37:39Speaker 3: don't know that I was sucking up to anybody. I'm
- 37:42Speaker 3: just saying that if I if I were in the
- 37:45Speaker 3: Capitol camp, I probably wouldn't have, you know, made that
- 37:48Speaker 3: announcement at that time. Uh, but not being a suck
- 37:52Speaker 3: I mean shelleymore Capito was gonna be. Was there ever
- 37:54Speaker 3: a doubt that Shelley Moore Capito was not going to
- 37:55Speaker 3: vote for that, or Jim Justice for that matter, or
- 37:58Speaker 3: Carol Miller or Riley Moore's That's there was never in question. Okay,
- 38:03Speaker 3: you knew who we're going to be. The no votes.
- 38:05Speaker 3: We all knew that, and you can probably count the ones,
- 38:09Speaker 3: although there'll be more of them that are going to
- 38:11Speaker 3: be no votes in the House. And I just I
- 38:14Speaker 3: just don't I don't see that the two things, those
- 38:16Speaker 3: two things go go like like a deal was struck
- 38:20Speaker 3: or whatever. No, I don't buy that. I'm sorry, tex
- 38:24Speaker 3: says it's so nice of you to excuse obvious nepotism
- 38:27Speaker 3: and cronyism. Uh More, Capito has never handled a criminal
- 38:32Speaker 3: case in his life, although criminals run his family only
- 38:36Speaker 3: in a whites are okay As DEI hires Republicans of
- 38:40Speaker 3: no integrity or honor. Texas Day, I voted for capitol
- 38:46Speaker 3: and justice, and I'm ashamed of what they have done
- 38:48Speaker 3: to the people of our states. They choose party above
- 38:51Speaker 3: people and what made it worse? Which your son was
- 38:53Speaker 3: chosen as US attorney after the votes were in? Well
- 38:56Speaker 3: not yet. He's not there yet, uh Texas. Dave you,
- 39:01Speaker 3: like me or a guy of a certain age, do
- 39:02Speaker 3: you struggle to use Trump speak without laughing? Terms like
- 39:05Speaker 3: big beautiful Bill or that missile defense thing he wants
- 39:08Speaker 3: to build the Golden Dome. Do you just think to yourself,
- 39:11Speaker 3: how do people take this guy seriously? Just wondering? Yeah, yeah,
- 39:16Speaker 3: sometimes I think that. I think that. However, however, textures
- 39:24Speaker 3: like that and me are are in the minority. West
- 39:27Speaker 3: Virginia is a Trump state. It's not going to change
- 39:29Speaker 3: anytime soon at all, and we are in a minority.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Texais but why do they vote for it? How does
- 39:38Speaker 3: it benefit West Virginia? What many people think it does
- 39:40Speaker 3: benefit West Virginia. Have had people on the show that
- 39:42Speaker 3: have talked about it benefiting West Virginia, and many people
- 39:44Speaker 3: say it won't. Texas, Shelley had doubts till Trump threatened
- 39:52Speaker 3: primary dissenters or tail tucked and more got appointed. Yeah,
- 39:56Speaker 3: I just I can't. I can't really go along with
- 39:58Speaker 3: that because I mean, I'm sorry, with all due respect
- 40:01Speaker 3: to some people that have alread announced, nobody beat Shelley
- 40:03Speaker 3: Moore Capital in the next election. Not gonna happen. Write
- 40:06Speaker 3: it down. I done, as my grandma would say, I done,
- 40:08Speaker 3: took and told you texta Dave, you're right on about
- 40:12Speaker 3: Morrissey and the holidays. Again, just I don't care who
- 40:15Speaker 3: to I'm taking off tomorrow, but not because it's July third.
- 40:18Speaker 3: I had this date on the calendar my first day

- 44:34Speaker 3: Ninety percent wanted a representatives vote against it. This bill.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Why did they do what they've done? Well, you know,
- 44:42Speaker 3: I will say this, I don't. I think that's too
- 44:45Speaker 3: hot because I think there were a lot of people
- 44:48Speaker 3: that texted the show. Maybe they weren't as vocal because
- 44:53Speaker 3: I think the opposition to the big beautiful bill were
- 44:56Speaker 3: very vocal. We had seen we had more people who
- 44:59Speaker 3: asked to be on this show or Metro News Midday
- 45:02Speaker 3: that were against the bill, but there were a lot
- 45:05Speaker 3: of people that were for, including a lot of people
- 45:07Speaker 3: in this state appreciate the text though text says, you

- 45:41Speaker 3: it's nine fifty two, a host of Metro News talking
- 45:45Speaker 3: along with Dave Wilson. So that question that the text
- 45:47Speaker 3: a asked about the new physical year again, So come on, man,
- 45:52Speaker 3: I gotta find it. I'm that guy. I want to
- 45:55Speaker 3: make sure I answer it.
- 45:56Speaker 5: Chris.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Basically what they're saying was, and of course you can
- 45:59Speaker 3: never find any thing when you are looking for it.
- 46:01Speaker 3: It's a new fiscal year year, Yeah, I went, and
- 46:04Speaker 3: so why would I can't find it?
- 46:08Speaker 14: So basically they're asking about the two different pots of money, right, Yeah,
- 46:11Speaker 14: that's exactly what.
- 46:12Speaker 3: Okay, So maybe.
- 46:13Speaker 14: We couldn't afford it in June when we were trying
- 46:16Speaker 14: to end the year, versus it's a fresh year now,
- 46:20Speaker 14: so maybe we can afford it now, I think would
- 46:22Speaker 14: probably be the essence of the question. And you know,
- 46:24Speaker 14: budget is different from cash flow number one, number two.
- 46:29Speaker 14: We just ended the fiscal year with more than two
- 46:32Speaker 14: hundred million, what was it, two fifty fifty million dollars
- 46:36Speaker 14: in surplus. You had all the money in the world
- 46:40Speaker 14: available if you wanted to take June teenth. I actually
- 46:44Speaker 14: inquired with the Governor's office yesterday. I put a request
- 46:48Speaker 14: in asking what the daily total wage cost for the
- 46:52Speaker 14: state of West Virginia was because I wanted to back
- 46:55Speaker 14: into the math to see what giving an unplanned holiday,
- 46:58Speaker 14: because think about it, we planned for twelve state holidays,
- 47:01Speaker 14: and I figured average person gets two weeks vacation, right,
- 47:04Speaker 14: so there's roughly two hundred and thirty eight productive working
- 47:07Speaker 14: days in the state of West Virginia that our employees
- 47:10Speaker 14: have to undertake. I wanted to know what one of
- 47:12Speaker 14: those costs. The response I got back was why.
- 47:18Speaker 3: Why? Why?
- 47:19Speaker 14: They asked me why I wanted that. At that point,
- 47:22Speaker 14: I just started doing some math on my own. And
- 47:25Speaker 14: you can't normalize the numbers because WVU and Marshall highly
- 47:28Speaker 14: inflate them in what is publicly available but highways. For instance,
- 47:32Speaker 14: two hundred and seventy five million dollars is what we
- 47:34Speaker 14: paid total compensation salaries for highways, divided by two hundred
- 47:39Speaker 14: thirty eight working days. It costs one point one five
- 47:42Speaker 14: to five million dollars in change for us to give
- 47:46Speaker 14: everyone in the highway's department a day off. So you
- 47:50Speaker 14: can back into the numbers from there and see. But
- 47:54Speaker 14: at any point, you know, if it's if it's about finances,
- 47:57Speaker 14: you had two hundred and fifty million dollars in surplus
- 47:59Speaker 14: the last fiscal year in June. You have no surplus
- 48:04Speaker 14: now because you're just starting the year. So the greater
- 48:07Speaker 14: uncertainty would be in the July third that you just
- 48:11Speaker 14: gave off from a fiscal perspective anyway, more so than
- 48:14Speaker 14: what it would have been for Jim teenth.
- 48:16Speaker 3: Here here was the exact text. I finally found it. It said,
- 48:18Speaker 3: to the June teenh textra complaining about money, July first
- 48:21Speaker 3: is a new fiscal year, new money about That's that
- 48:24Speaker 3: was the exact word.
- 48:24Speaker 14: Yeah, but you don't have new money abounds, but you
- 48:26Speaker 14: don't have a built up surplus yet you had a
- 48:29Speaker 14: built up surplus in the last fiscal year.
- 48:32Speaker 3: Okay, you get what I'm going You have a bunch
- 48:35Speaker 3: of uncertainty. I get I get it, And do you
- 48:37Speaker 3: agree with me? And if you don't, that's fine, But
- 48:39Speaker 3: do you agree with me that two announcements within a
- 48:45Speaker 3: few hours of each other yesterday not not good optics,
- 48:49Speaker 3: not good optics at all, not good optics director of optics. Yeah,
- 48:53Speaker 3: that's what they need.
- 48:54Speaker 14: You have to think these things through, and you also
- 48:56Speaker 14: have to think, you know, not giving June tenth and
- 48:59Speaker 14: giving I.
- 49:00Speaker 3: Think you ought to get both. Personally, I have no
- 49:01Speaker 3: problem with both. Let's be clear. Yeah, I don't care
- 49:04Speaker 3: when people working with I'm working of that or just yeah,
- 49:08Speaker 3: you open yourself up to all these criticisms. Maybe that's
- 49:10Speaker 3: what they want. Maybe they want that debate. Well, and
- 49:13Speaker 3: and I think that you and I talked about this
- 49:15Speaker 3: once before when they talked about June teenth being a holiday,
- 49:17Speaker 3: people said, you know that it's a woke holiday or whatever. Well,
- 49:22Speaker 3: Texas was the first to do it. And you know
- 49:24Speaker 3: that that liberal, that vast liberal wasteland known as Texas.
- 49:28Speaker 14: Deep in the heart of Texas, they're liberals down there. No,
- 49:30Speaker 14: I don't think so.
- 49:31Speaker 3: Once you get outside of Austin, nance would probably be no, no, no,
- 49:34Speaker 3: not at all.
- 49:35Speaker 14: So I mean, look, you know, if you don't want
- 49:38Speaker 14: the headache, optics become very very important, and you need
- 49:42Speaker 14: to be diligent about that to your point, but if
- 49:44Speaker 14: you ignore the optics, it's a fair question to.
- 49:46Speaker 3: Say, do you want the debate? Yeah? Do you want
- 49:49Speaker 3: the headache? Because once you continuing to run again? Yeah,
- 49:52Speaker 3: all right, tex says Morrissey. Used excuse of the state
- 49:55Speaker 3: not being able to afford to give June nineteenth as
- 49:58Speaker 3: a day off, but now we have the funds to
- 50:00Speaker 3: give July third. It certainly is bad optics. But you
- 50:03Speaker 3: can take one look at Governor Morrissey, know that he's
- 50:05Speaker 3: a man that cares a little about optics. I Look,
- 50:08Speaker 3: he probably owned that. I mean, he probably would own
- 50:11Speaker 3: that tax and say, no, I don't care what things
- 50:13Speaker 3: look like. It's right and it's wrong and whatever. That's
- 50:15Speaker 3: probably what he would say.
- 50:16Speaker 14: Well, I'm just saying the fiscal argument about June teenth
- 50:20Speaker 14: no longer holds. If you finish the year in that
- 50:23Speaker 14: fiscal year with the surplus and now you turn around
- 50:25Speaker 14: with no surplus and all these days left of uncertainty
- 50:29Speaker 14: in this fiscal year and you grant the holiday. That
- 50:32Speaker 14: doesn't wash from a business perspective.
- 50:34Speaker 3: And again, I hate to keep using that word optics,
- 50:37Speaker 3: but again it's the PR guy and me. I'm even
- 50:39Speaker 3: wearing my company PR shirt today, although that was just
- 50:43Speaker 3: a coincidence. Consistency. Yeah, yeah, it ain't hard man, unless
- 50:49Speaker 3: you want the debate. Well, anyway, what's coming up on
- 50:53Speaker 3: talk line it I know you're going to continue some
- 50:55Speaker 3: of this conversation what you got on talk line.
- 50:56Speaker 14: So Eric Nelson, speaking of numbers, Secondary revenue, joins us
- 51:00Speaker 14: at ten oh six. We got those numbers in yesterday.
- 51:01Speaker 14: He's going to break down the last fiscal year. We'll
- 51:03Speaker 14: look ahead to this fiscal year. Understand where the state's at.
- 51:05Speaker 14: Understand that surplus. Figure out what the numbers say, Dave,
- 51:08Speaker 14: because I'm a business guy and I like the numbers,
- 51:10Speaker 14: and the numbers are less apt to live than anything else.
- 51:13Speaker 14: So we'll talk with him. Jason Huffman from Americans for
- 51:16Speaker 14: Prosperity stops by at ten thirty.
- 51:18Speaker 3: We'll talk about the Big Beautiful Bill.
- 51:19Speaker 5: One.
- 51:19Speaker 14: Hoppy Kerchival is in the house at eleven o six.
- 51:22Speaker 14: He's got a lot to talk about, Big beautiful Bill,
- 51:24Speaker 14: Independence Day, optics. The man's going to weigh in on everything.
- 51:28Speaker 14: Brad mclhaney at eleven thirty three with the latest news.
- 51:31Speaker 3: You dropped the new commentary today.
- 51:32Speaker 14: I did drop a new commentary today. You know, there's
- 51:35Speaker 14: a lot of names we remember when it comes to
- 51:37Speaker 14: the Declaration of Independence. Hancock, of course, you can't miss it.
- 51:40Speaker 14: It's right there, Big and Bull, Franklin, Jefferson, Adams. What
- 51:44Speaker 14: about the guys we don't hear about Stockton Lewis, these
- 51:48Speaker 14: kinds of guys. It was a story. It was a
- 51:54Speaker 14: story of despair. These guys watched their homes burned, they
- 51:57Speaker 14: watched their families captured, they saw their fortune disappear. They
- 52:02Speaker 14: paid the ultimate sacrifice in every way possible. They pledged
- 52:05Speaker 14: their fortunes, their sacred honor. You read the last line
- 52:08Speaker 14: of the declaration. It's really something to think about. So
- 52:10Speaker 14: you can read about the history today at WV metronews
- 52:13Speaker 14: dot com and I geek out on that stuff.
- 52:14Speaker 3: As we all know. All right, final textins fiscal reason
- 52:17Speaker 3: is debunked. Either Governor Morrissey doesn't care much for black
- 52:20Speaker 3: people or he wants people to think he's the best
- 52:23Speaker 3: worst option to someone like him. I can help you
- 52:25Speaker 3: with numbers. The rest of it's up to you, all right,
- 52:27Speaker 3: we gotta go. TJ. Meadows and mister Wilson coming up
- 52:30Speaker 3: with talk line ten oh six. I'll be back when
- 52:32Speaker 3: a Man of baron Metro News Midday powered by Selango

- 52:41Speaker 3: to having Joe in studio with us amongst the other guests.
- 52:44Speaker 3: I will not be here tomorrow. Amy Breedlove hosting the
- 52:46Speaker 3: show tomorrow off no local show on Friday. We'll see
- 52:50Speaker 3: you on Monday till then, have fun, Love Somebody Happy.
