- 0:00Speaker 1: Now the guardian Angel of top radio is here.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Curtis Leewa guest host the Mark Simone Show on seven
- 0:08Speaker 2: to ten.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Woo oh yeah.
- 0:20Speaker 2: My responsibility as being on Mark Simone's turf, the best
- 0:27Speaker 2: talk radio host in our region bar none. And I'm
- 0:31Speaker 2: sure Greg Kelly was listening over there at WABC doing
- 0:34Speaker 2: his show prep as he always did by listening to
- 0:38Speaker 2: Mark Simone. Hey, why not? He had good stuff and
- 0:42Speaker 2: always says good stuff. He'll be back on the fifth
- 0:46Speaker 2: on Monday, but I'll be back on Friday. And the
- 0:50Speaker 2: kind of talk radio I do is different than most
- 0:54Speaker 2: because I believe that we have this opportunity to speak
- 0:58Speaker 2: to all of you now because of the technology, not
- 1:02Speaker 2: just throughout the Try State area, throughout the United States,
- 1:04Speaker 2: but all over the world because any radio station can
- 1:10Speaker 2: be picked up virtually anywhere. And I've heard from a
- 1:14Speaker 2: lot of people listening to me on WOOR my place
- 1:17Speaker 2: to be seven to ten. Never again at WABC, which
- 1:21Speaker 2: the acronym stands for always blaming Curtis for Zaramandami being
- 1:25Speaker 2: the mayor and always bashing Curtis even to this day.
- 1:31Speaker 2: You think they would give it up, right, Ain't coming
- 1:34Speaker 2: back there? Never I'd rather live in a homeless shelter.
- 1:37Speaker 2: I'd rather be stuck on the number four train and
- 1:39Speaker 2: going round than round.
- 1:40Speaker 3: They're rout, is he?
- 1:42Speaker 2: Do you think people understand that? And this is a
- 1:45Speaker 2: much better station in a lot of different ways. But
- 1:49Speaker 2: this thing of ours, talk radio, it requires that you
- 1:53Speaker 2: pay homage to it. Now, Mark Simone does because nobody
- 1:57Speaker 2: knows more about radio and television then March some mom.
- 2:01Speaker 3: And he talks about it regularly.
- 2:03Speaker 2: I listened to his show, and as you know now
- 2:07Speaker 2: you have the benefit doesn't have to be appointment radio.
- 2:10Speaker 2: You can always get it on the podcast. But I
- 2:13Speaker 2: want to touch on a few things before I do
- 2:16Speaker 2: my homage in these last two days, for the reason
- 2:21Speaker 2: that many of us have the opportunity to speak to
- 2:24Speaker 2: all of you, whether in live form or if you
- 2:29Speaker 2: wanted to listen to three four days, a month later,
- 2:32Speaker 2: a year later on these podcasts. First off from Nancy
- 2:39Speaker 2: and yours. Truly, we have a special message. New Year's
- 2:44Speaker 2: message will be posting to all of you, the many
- 2:48Speaker 2: hundreds of thousands who have now become followers all over
- 2:51Speaker 2: the world on all the platforms. So whether it's TikTok
- 2:55Speaker 2: that most of you know nothing about, Oh you gotta
- 2:57Speaker 2: be on TikTok, and he trust me, he didn't get
- 3:01Speaker 2: elected because he was on TikTok.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Two years ago.
- 3:05Speaker 2: President Donald Trump is saying this is a red Chinese
- 3:09Speaker 2: threat to take over America, and then all of a
- 3:11Speaker 2: sudden he discovered, hey, maybe I can get a few
- 3:14Speaker 2: votes with this, and then all of a sudden, yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 2: we love TikTok. TikTok does not get you elected to anything.
- 3:22Speaker 2: So whether it's TikTok, Instagram or Facebook, where you're putting
- 3:28Speaker 2: on there what you had for beakfast this morning at
- 3:31Speaker 2: the local diner. Do I need to see you having
- 3:34Speaker 2: eggs and pancakes, you know with toast? Yeah? Yeah, you
- 3:38Speaker 2: post what you had for lunch and then a mydaam,
- 3:41Speaker 2: your life must be so miserable?
- 3:45Speaker 3: Is that all you compose?
- 3:46Speaker 2: And of course Ellen musk X, Twitter so many different
- 3:51Speaker 2: ways to get you a message out. But our message
- 3:54Speaker 2: to everybody listening right now and they'll be posted later
- 3:58Speaker 2: on at Kurtisley, which have a you can get that
- 4:00Speaker 2: social network.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Is that?
- 4:03Speaker 2: All Nancy and I want for this New Year's is
- 4:07Speaker 2: for all stray and shelter animals to have a loving home.
- 4:12Speaker 2: And I know for some of you we're like, oh,
- 4:14Speaker 2: here it goes with the animal welfare stuff. Yeah, and
- 4:18Speaker 2: again as we welcome in a new year, it doesn't
- 4:22Speaker 2: get any better than Mahatma Gandhi again a victim of
- 4:26Speaker 2: an assassination because of his beliefs, but a man who's said,
- 4:31Speaker 2: is society that does not take care of its animals
- 4:33Speaker 2: does not take care of its people. And on my
- 4:35Speaker 2: way here to Wor seven ten to do this broadcast
- 4:41Speaker 2: to all of you, I had to pass the homeless
- 4:45Speaker 2: people and emotionally disturbed persons in the subway because the
- 4:50Speaker 2: hawk is talking out there it's cold, and talk with them,
- 4:55Speaker 2: not many of them that I know.
- 4:58Speaker 3: And see all the flots and jets.
- 5:01Speaker 2: As I came up top to the street, I was
- 5:03Speaker 2: picking up the garbage. It was flying all over and
- 5:06Speaker 2: people are looking at me. You pick up garbage too,
- 5:08Speaker 2: and so what is it? That's where I was raised
- 5:12Speaker 2: by my grandfather, Fidela Biangino from Body, Italy, on my
- 5:17Speaker 2: mother's side, Trancesca side. He said, one young which means
- 5:22Speaker 2: young man, young boy.
- 5:24Speaker 3: You see garbage?
- 5:25Speaker 2: Yeah, like you heard Eric Adams say, we're gonna talk
- 5:27Speaker 2: about him a second, A Mama, luke.
- 5:29Speaker 3: But anyway, you.
- 5:30Speaker 4: See something, you see something.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Hey.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Long before they ever quantified that statement, my grandfather would
- 5:39Speaker 2: tell me, Hey, you see garbage, you pick it up.
- 5:42Speaker 2: If you can't find a can and put it in,
- 5:44Speaker 2: you put it in your pocket until you can find
- 5:46Speaker 2: a can. That's where I was brought up, and many
- 5:51Speaker 2: of you listening now were brought up. And it used
- 5:54Speaker 2: to be the sanitation department. After they pick up the garbage,
- 5:56Speaker 2: it had brooms on the truck. Remember when they would
- 5:59Speaker 2: have broom wear the brooms. Now, huh, they pick up
- 6:02Speaker 2: the garbage and that's it, not my job. Then we
- 6:06Speaker 2: have these business improvement districts. They hire mostly mental women
- 6:10Speaker 2: who have been down on their luck, and they go
- 6:12Speaker 2: out there and they change the trash can bags and
- 6:16Speaker 2: they do a little sweeping and that's all good.
- 6:19Speaker 3: We never needed that.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Years ago, everybody picked up the garbage.
- 6:26Speaker 3: So people were looking at.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Me this morning on my way here to w oh,
- 6:30Speaker 2: like I believe, like I belong in the Museum of
- 6:33Speaker 2: Natural History, Like here is a species from a different
- 6:37Speaker 2: era that actually believes if you see something garbage on
- 6:41Speaker 2: the ground, you pick it up.
- 6:43Speaker 3: The problem is.
- 6:45Speaker 2: That the police commissioner Jessicatsh who you all fall and over.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Once she was sanitation commissioner, she took half the baskets
- 6:54Speaker 2: off the streets. Well, if there are less baskets, there'll
- 6:58Speaker 2: be less garbage.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Ough past the great poupon Jesscatage.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Maybe jeans or a limital driver on Park Avenue can
- 7:06Speaker 2: get you to one police plaza. That was a disastrous program.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Some of the folks in the MTA money taking agency,
- 7:14Speaker 2: you know, they were having the press conference. Ye, it's
- 7:17Speaker 2: the end of the metro card and now all of
- 7:19Speaker 2: a sudden you're gonna have to tap and go the
- 7:22Speaker 2: omni card, debit card, credit card. There will be nothing
- 7:24Speaker 2: left the beginning of the year on your debut of
- 7:26Speaker 2: credit card.
- 7:27Speaker 3: So good luck. And I'm saying to myself, are these
- 7:31Speaker 3: people delusional?
- 7:33Speaker 2: One third of the people don't even pay their subway
- 7:35Speaker 2: fair to begin with, and that's gonna increase with Zora
- 7:38Speaker 2: on Mondamique. One half don't even pay the city bus fare.
- 7:42Speaker 2: They don't do a tap in go, they don't have
- 7:44Speaker 2: a metro card, and if you say anything to them,
- 7:47Speaker 2: they give you the finger.
- 7:48Speaker 3: They're defiant. So they're all mourning the loss of the
- 7:52Speaker 3: Metro card. What are you talking about?
- 7:55Speaker 2: Half the people didn't even use a Metro card to
- 7:58Speaker 2: get in on a bus, one third on the subway. Oh,
- 8:03Speaker 2: because of the crime that never gets dealt with.
- 8:06Speaker 3: It's called fair evasion. That's a crime. Let's face it.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Let's not make any arrests.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Let's not make people pay the fair even though they
- 8:16Speaker 2: are all kinds of programs. If you're down on your luck,
- 8:19Speaker 2: half fair, one third fare, but you gotta go out
- 8:23Speaker 2: and get that right.
- 8:25Speaker 3: We're not gonna bring it to eat. So that's my
- 8:28Speaker 3: first observation.
- 8:30Speaker 2: And then all of a sudden, I'm on the subway
- 8:35Speaker 2: platform and I'm trying to give tourist directions because naturally
- 8:39Speaker 2: the token booth clerks who do nothing. Now it's like
- 8:42Speaker 2: a feather bettered job. They should be out of the
- 8:45Speaker 2: booth giving instructions to people at the machines to be
- 8:50Speaker 2: able to pay their fare because he's getting scammed by
- 8:53Speaker 2: every hustler in the world. But they should also be
- 8:56Speaker 2: telling people how to get around town. So I'm helping
- 8:58Speaker 2: tourists and many of them already know me. Hey, Curtis,
- 9:01Speaker 2: I'm trying to get down to where else? The World
- 9:04Speaker 2: Trade Center, that's where they want to go. See the battery,
- 9:07Speaker 2: want to see the Statue of Liberty, all the places that.
- 9:10Speaker 3: We folks, we don't go because we know that's where
- 9:13Speaker 3: all the tourists go.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Like, if any of you are schmucks or puttses and
- 9:18Speaker 2: you're gonna go down to Times Square to watch the
- 9:20Speaker 2: ball drop, did you not hear Jessica Tish say, Oh,
- 9:24Speaker 2: they're gonna be double screenings. They took all the garbage
- 9:28Speaker 2: cans away. There's no porter sands, there's none of that.
- 9:31Speaker 2: They can cattle cars. And you're gonna start moving at
- 9:36Speaker 2: three o'clock. That's why they're gonna start letting you in.
- 9:39Speaker 2: And once you're in, you don't get out. You get out,
- 9:43Speaker 2: you don't come back. So imagine you've already been drinking
- 9:47Speaker 2: a few. It's three o'clock. The ball doesn't drop until
- 9:52Speaker 2: until all of a sudden the new year comes in. Right, say,
- 9:57Speaker 2: let me, I'm not too good at nine hours?
- 9:59Speaker 3: Right, nine hours?
- 10:01Speaker 2: You think you could hold it in nine hours? Have
- 10:03Speaker 2: you been drinking a few, hoisting a few? That's why
- 10:07Speaker 2: on my way over here, I stopped at a few.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Dwayne Reid's and CVS's wiped out of depends wiped out
- 10:15Speaker 2: because people live their whole life to come to watch
- 10:18Speaker 2: the ball drop on Times Square, and they come from Monta,
- 10:24Speaker 2: Mexico City, and they come from Kye Town, South Africa.
- 10:27Speaker 2: They come from everywhere because they want that experience. But
- 10:30Speaker 2: if you happen to be living in this Tri state
- 10:32Speaker 2: area and you're stupid enough to show up because you
- 10:36Speaker 2: want to be able to talk about it, don't waste
- 10:41Speaker 2: your time. But make sure you have depends on. Yeah,
- 10:46Speaker 2: because remember, we come into this world with diapers at
- 10:49Speaker 2: some point, and most of us when we go out
- 10:52Speaker 2: of this world, we'll be wearing diapers.
- 10:54Speaker 3: So get ready. And here's Jessicati saying, yeah, there'll be
- 10:58Speaker 3: two screenings.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Okay, Jessica, you'll keep talking and then of course, uh,
- 11:06Speaker 2: there's a boss. But thank god, just the final day
- 11:09Speaker 2: that Mama Luke, what a cry baby. Eric Adams the
- 11:14Speaker 2: most corrupt mayor in the history of New York City,
- 11:16Speaker 2: and that is saying a lot. The swaggerman with no
- 11:19Speaker 2: plan and the nightlife mayor. All he ever did was
- 11:22Speaker 2: hang out in clubs till they break of dawn. And
- 11:25Speaker 2: a man who just waited to be wind eying the
- 11:27Speaker 2: pocket lined and if my sources are correct, decided to
- 11:32Speaker 2: drop out a running for mayor when the price was right.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Uh you remember that show the price was right? I
- 11:41Speaker 2: think he settled on twenty mil I think time will tell.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Because then he was like, well, should I go to
- 11:49Speaker 4: the inauguration at city? Should I ain't not go? I
- 11:52Speaker 4: wouldn't have made ask me to go and tell your
- 11:55Speaker 4: peeps's or an Easterns, don't yell at me, don't shout at.
- 11:58Speaker 3: What a mama, luke what a baby?
- 12:03Speaker 2: And so I guess the mayor had a conversation with him,
- 12:05Speaker 2: the incoming mayor, Yeah, yeah, you should be there.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Oh I'm gonna be.
- 12:09Speaker 2: There, Like wow, wow, Eric Adams, He's the reason this
- 12:15Speaker 2: is so. Had Mandami, had he done anywhere of a
- 12:19Speaker 2: decent job, halfway job, he would have been the Democratic
- 12:22Speaker 2: incumbent mayor running for reelection. I would have been the
- 12:26Speaker 2: Republican candidate. And hey, it would have been tough. It's
- 12:29Speaker 2: tough for a Republican to begin with. He failed, and
- 12:34Speaker 2: then they resurrected that political some beat Cuomo.
- 12:38Speaker 3: By the way, has anybody seeing Cuomo?
- 12:39Speaker 2: Will he be at the inauguration, of course, not is
- 12:42Speaker 2: he anywhere other than hanging out with his billionaire friends
- 12:46Speaker 2: as he's slithered under his rock in the Hampton's where
- 12:49Speaker 2: he loves to be. Maybe he can launch it after
- 12:51Speaker 2: the run for mayor of Southampton. So here was Eric Adams.
- 12:55Speaker 3: You were talking.
- 12:56Speaker 2: I'm gonna write a book. I got the title. I
- 13:00Speaker 2: didn't do nothing wrong. He's gonna get involved in cryptocurrency,
- 13:05Speaker 2: which is bitcoin, crime coin, and he wants to teach
- 13:08Speaker 2: a new generation of how to become criminals, because that's
- 13:11Speaker 2: what blockchain cryptocurrency is. It's a scam. We'll talk about
- 13:16Speaker 2: that on Friday, my last day here. We're gonna talk
- 13:19Speaker 2: about AI. Oh my god, what a headache. And also
- 13:22Speaker 2: robotics because the masters of the universe are all telling
- 13:26Speaker 2: you to worry about it. We're gonna take your jobs,
- 13:29Speaker 2: but we're gonna give you a universal high income of
- 13:32Speaker 2: about one hundred and fifty thousand dollars a year. You're
- 13:35Speaker 2: not gonna have to do nothing. You just sit at home,
- 13:39Speaker 2: scratch your belly button. We're going to take care of you.
- 13:44Speaker 2: You trust any of them, We'll get into all of that.
- 13:47Speaker 2: These are subjects many of which don't get discussed and
- 13:50Speaker 2: talk radio. And then of course there is Eric Adams
- 13:56Speaker 2: on his way out, who has decided that, hey, you know,
- 14:02Speaker 2: there are things I'm going to do to try to
- 14:04Speaker 2: make amends. He said, signing an executive order today. I
- 14:10Speaker 2: always had breaking news, right, Hey, this is Mark Simon's turf.
- 14:14Speaker 3: It's not my turf. I had breaking news.
- 14:17Speaker 2: He's using an executive order in the waning moments.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Of his.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Horrible mayoralty to have charter revision. Now what that is,
- 14:26Speaker 2: ladies and gentlemen. He's going to assign people to actually
- 14:30Speaker 2: put on the ballot this coming year, the gubernatory year,
- 14:34Speaker 2: the midterm elections on the back of your ballot.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Things that you as citizens can vote on.
- 14:41Speaker 2: I think the chairman is I gotta check my sources
- 14:45Speaker 2: on this, but got it on pretty good authority. My
- 14:50Speaker 2: husband and lawd David Pattison, the former governor, a man
- 14:54Speaker 2: who needs adderall. In this last mayoral election. First he
- 14:58Speaker 2: was Ferrick Adams and he was for co and he
- 15:00Speaker 2: was for Eric Adams and he was for Como. He
- 15:02Speaker 2: gave me vertigo and I said, do me a favor,
- 15:05Speaker 2: don't endorse me. It's the kiss her death, and it
- 15:08Speaker 2: was so give him some adderall he'll be on the
- 15:11Speaker 2: charity commission. I guess the Mayor's going to have some others.
- 15:15Speaker 2: And there should be the question of sanctuary city up there,
- 15:18Speaker 2: which I talked about during the campaign.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Let the people vote.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Let the people, boy, A lot of people will come
- 15:24Speaker 2: out to vote in an election on that issue, whether
- 15:27Speaker 2: you're for it or against it. You can have town
- 15:31Speaker 2: hall meetings, you can have spirited debate. You will have
- 15:35Speaker 2: a lot of people coming out to vote in nothing
- 15:37Speaker 2: more because of that issue.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Let's see what.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Eric Adams is going to do. And how about putting
- 15:46Speaker 2: on the initiative and referendum for twenty twenty six, once and.
- 15:51Speaker 3: For all, voting on the horse joint carriage issue. Let
- 15:56Speaker 3: the people decide.
- 15:59Speaker 2: And on that note, it's gonna lead us into a
- 16:02Speaker 2: homage coming up to the man who was considered the
- 16:06Speaker 2: father of talk radio, and he started right here on WOR.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, our new.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Favorite station here in the Sleewer household. Nancy, yours truly
- 16:18Speaker 2: and yet are six cats we listen to seven to
- 16:23Speaker 2: ten WORR and so shit, all of you our numbers
- 16:29Speaker 2: one eight hundred three two, one zero seven, ten, that's
- 16:31Speaker 2: one eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten
