- 0:30Speaker 1: It's the first day of the fair Friday. It's the corny.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Dog walk Friday.
- 0:35Speaker 1: It's the get Rosado Friday.
- 0:39Speaker 7: Oh, no, no.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I got the powder. Oh, who's got the powder?
- 0:41Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 0:42Speaker 2: It's Mix 102.9. Good morning.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Billy the Kid. Candice Lopez is here. Producer Poo is here.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Good morning, Candice. You ready or what?
- 0:48Speaker 5: I am so ready. And I don't know if you
- 0:50Speaker 5: noticed what's over here against the wall.
- 0:52Speaker 7: Hold on.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Let me look.
- 0:53Speaker 5: It is the official corny dog support scooter.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I didn't even see it.
- 0:59Speaker 5: Yeah, that's my support scooter. It's got a corny dog
- 1:02Speaker 5: on the front. We have a Bluetooth speaker so we
- 1:04Speaker 5: can jam this year. And I've decorated it. It's got lights.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Wait a minute. That thing is amazing. That is clean.
- 1:10Speaker 5: I did it myself last night.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I don't even know how I didn't see it because
- 1:13Speaker 1: I was running late today. So is that why you
- 1:15Speaker 1: were asking me about the corny dog?
- 1:16Speaker 5: Yeah. Well, I text you, do you have a plush
- 1:18Speaker 5: corny dog?
- 1:19Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:19Speaker 5: Because I feel like I remember last year, the year before,
- 1:22Speaker 5: you guys won one of those giant plush corny dogs.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Yeah, Billy did.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I won one doing basketball.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Yeah. But I can't find it. I don't know if
- 1:29Speaker 1: my son traded it or something crazy, but it's gone.
- 1:32Speaker 5: Funniest story ever, because I got this idea. I was like,
- 1:35Speaker 5: I want to put a big car since I don't
- 1:36Speaker 5: have a corny dog costume. I'm going to be walking
- 1:38Speaker 5: with you guys today. I was like, I want a
- 1:39Speaker 5: big corny dog to put on the front of my
- 1:40Speaker 5: scooter and then we'll take the scooter in case we
- 1:42Speaker 5: need it. So I got on Marketplace, and there were
- 1:45Speaker 5: a few for sale, but they were like $ 30 and
- 1:47Speaker 5: $ 40 and like Mesquite, Fort Worth. Yeah, and so then
- 1:52Speaker 5: I Googled, you know, plush corny dog, and I found
- 1:55Speaker 5: a plush corny dog dog toy, and it was like
- 1:58Speaker 5: half a mile from where I was driving.
- 1:59Speaker 7: It's perfect.
- 2:00Speaker 5: And it's right on the front of my scooter. I'm
- 2:01Speaker 5: so happy about it.
- 2:02Speaker 2: The corny dog I have would have been way too big.
- 2:05Speaker 6: Yeah. It's huge.
- 2:06Speaker 5: Well, someone posted like a measuring tape next to theirs,
- 2:09Speaker 5: and it was like five feet. I'm like, that thing's
- 2:11Speaker 5: as big as me.
- 2:12Speaker 1: No, that's what it was. You wouldn't even be able
- 2:13Speaker 1: to see it. So you're scooting today.
- 2:15Speaker 7: Okay, yeah.
- 2:15Speaker 5: Well, I'm going to scoot a little bit.
- 2:16Speaker 7: Scoot, scoot.
- 2:17Speaker 5: Walk a little bit.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I'm not mad at that. I'm not mad at that.
- 2:19Speaker 2: You're going to have some trouble because we're walking in
- 2:21Speaker 2: the fair today, if you don't know. I mean, it's
- 2:22Speaker 2: a big day. It's corny dog walk.
- 2:24Speaker 5: Huge day.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Second annual.
- 2:25Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 2:26Speaker 2: So this turned into a whole thing. But there's areas
- 2:28Speaker 2: where it's going to be hard to scoot.
- 2:30Speaker 5: Well, we'll just throw it in the support vehicle that
- 2:32Speaker 5: hopefully we have.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:33Speaker 8: No, we do.
- 2:33Speaker 1: A lot of support.
- 2:34Speaker 5: Or I'll just carry it.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Well, we're launching at 10, right around 10, 10, 1030-ish.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And then we're going to take off and we're walking
- 2:41Speaker 1: to the fair, 14 miles. And if you find us
- 2:44Speaker 1: along the way, then guess what? We're going to give
- 2:46Speaker 1: you tickets until they run out. Yeah. Because last year,
- 2:49Speaker 1: I mean, I gave away hundreds of tickets. I know
- 2:52Speaker 1: Fort Worth is already mad that I'm not coming out there.
- 2:54Speaker 1: But listen, I can't walk from Fort Worth. Maybe next year.
- 2:59Speaker 5: We'll see.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Maybe next year I just thought of something. Maybe we
- 3:03Speaker 1: launch from the stockyards.
- 3:05Speaker 7: Oh, God.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Do the show that morning, and we start walking, and
- 3:09Speaker 1: we do the show live on the way.
- 3:11Speaker 5: Oh, that'd be fun.
- 3:12Speaker 1: On the way down. Can we hop on the TRE?
- 3:14Speaker 7: No, we cannot.
- 3:15Speaker 1: That'd be fun. Well, good. All right, I'm excited.
- 3:18Speaker 2: So, yeah, the scooter's, that's sweet.
- 3:21Speaker 1: The support scooter is here. Support scooter is here. Candice
- 3:23Speaker 1: Force One. Yeah, I like that. Corny Force One.
- 3:26Speaker 9: Pooh is here.
- 3:27Speaker 1: What's up, Pooh?
- 3:28Speaker 10: Y'all, I love my sister to death. You know, she's
- 3:30Speaker 10: got a good friend, Dr. Davis, at Advanced ChiroSport, and
- 3:34Speaker 10: she sent me over there. I haven't stretched in years.
- 3:38Speaker 10: Your boy got stretched out yesterday.
- 3:39Speaker 7: Really?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Like for a whole 45 minutes.
- 3:41Speaker 7: Oh, boy. Nice.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm trying to prep, dog.
- 3:43Speaker 5: That's good.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Last year I felt bad.
- 3:45Speaker 7: Stay loose right now.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I bailed on you, and I've never stretched. I'm ready today.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Let's just say I'm ready. You should have went to church.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Forget the chiropractor.
- 3:54Speaker 5: Go there tomorrow.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I'm telling you right now, Jesus is going to be
- 3:56Speaker 2: the only thing that gets you through.
- 3:59Speaker 1: To the fair. My sister was like, please, bro, don't
- 4:03Speaker 1: let Billy do this alone. You gotta... Well, no, I
- 4:05Speaker 1: got Candace this year.
- 4:06Speaker 5: Yeah. I got you.
- 4:08Speaker 1: It's not a matter of you not being able to
- 4:10Speaker 1: do it. I think you can do it. The problem is...
- 4:13Speaker 1: I mean, I think I could do a lot of things. No, no, no, no.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I know you could walk to the fair. I think
- 4:18Speaker 1: you could make it all 14 miles. The problem is,
- 4:20Speaker 1: and this is what we ran into last year.
- 4:22Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 4:23Speaker 1: You're slow.
- 4:24Speaker 7: Oh!
- 4:26Speaker 5: Well, if he needs to get on the support scooter.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Right.
- 4:28Speaker 2: That's why it might work out better.
- 4:30Speaker 5: I don't know if that's cheating, but.
- 4:31Speaker 1: At one point, I was like a block, two blocks
- 4:33Speaker 1: ahead of him, and because he... If you saw Pooh
- 4:36Speaker 1: walk before, he needs an alignment. Yeah.
- 4:38Speaker 2: And I don't know if Dr. Dave, what's his name?
- 4:40Speaker 1: Dr. Davis. Dr.
- 4:42Speaker 9: Davis.
- 4:43Speaker 1: And Melissa. Yeah, they were laughing at my walk. They
- 4:45Speaker 1: saw the video.
- 4:45Speaker 8: Well, thank you, Dr.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Davis and Melissa. Are you still walking the same or
- 4:48Speaker 1: did they align your feet? My foot's aligned now. I
- 4:51Speaker 1: like your shoes, though. Yeah, you like these?
- 4:53Speaker 5: I almost got those.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Little Brooks. Yeah, I got my Brooks on.
- 4:55Speaker 5: It's got proper footwear.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 4:58Speaker 9: That'll help.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Hey, Morgan hooked me up, man.
- 5:01Speaker 5: That'll help.
- 5:02Speaker 1: You know, that's my support system. She got my back.
- 5:05Speaker 5: Your corny support system.
- 5:06Speaker 1: You bought brand new expensive shoes. You think that's going
- 5:10Speaker 1: to help?
- 5:10Speaker 5: It'll help.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I need all the help I can get. I got
- 5:12Speaker 1: some socks. I love that we've been preparing this for
- 5:15Speaker 1: a year. How about walking? You know, I've been walking
- 5:19Speaker 1: every day. But, you know, that's not 14.2 miles. Yeah, no,
- 5:22Speaker 1: that's true. All right. Well, let's pray for us.
- 5:27Speaker 5: How are you feeling?
- 5:28Speaker 6: Stay tuned.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Oh, I feel good. I was up late last night, though.
- 5:30Speaker 1: That's the only problem. I went to my son's game.
- 5:32Speaker 1: It was like a homecoming game.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Aw.
- 5:33Speaker 2: So I was out in Aledo.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I left. They won.
- 5:36Speaker 7: Good. Yes.
- 5:36Speaker 1: He had a good game, but I just thought to myself,
- 5:38Speaker 1: I didn't get home till late, and then I couldn't
- 5:40Speaker 1: go to sleep because it's like Christmas Eve.
- 5:41Speaker 7: Right. Same.
- 5:42Speaker 5: I was so excited and nervous.
- 5:44Speaker 2: The day before the fair and the corny dog walk
- 5:45Speaker 2: is a big deal. Yeah. So I left cookies out
- 5:47Speaker 2: for Big Tex.
- 5:48Speaker 5: All right.
- 5:50Speaker 7: The new Mix 102.9.
- 5:52Speaker 10: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 5:56Speaker 10: Kid in the Morning.
- 5:57Speaker 7: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 5:58Speaker 1: All right, Candace Lopez, what is going on over there?
- 6:02Speaker 5: Well, it is opening day of the State Fair of Texas,
- 6:04Speaker 5: so here's what you should know. Before you go, that's okay.
- 6:09Speaker 5: This year's theme, guys, Stars, Stripes, and Howdies. The fair
- 6:12Speaker 5: opens at 10 a.m. this morning. Tickets go from $ 15
- 6:16Speaker 5: to $ 25. Kids ages 3 through 12, they get in
- 6:20Speaker 5: for $ 10. Parking is $ 25. By the way, the fair
- 6:23Speaker 5: also launched a new everyday values program. So more than
- 6:28Speaker 5: 200 food and drink items are priced at $ 10 or less.
- 6:30Speaker 7: Okay.
- 6:32Speaker 5: Yeah, most midway rides and games cost less this year.
- 6:34Speaker 5: And don't forget, if you have coupons left from last year,
- 6:37Speaker 5: they don't expire. So bring them. I know I forget
- 6:40Speaker 5: my coupons every year and I'm like, oh, I had
- 6:42Speaker 5: like 20 sitting in the desk.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I do the same thing every year. I usually try
- 6:46Speaker 1: to give them away if I have extra on the
- 6:47Speaker 1: way out. But if I don't and I have a handful,
- 6:49Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm going to find them next year and
- 6:51Speaker 1: I'll use them. Never do.
- 6:52Speaker 5: Right, right. Well, just a reminder, you can also bring bags, coolers.
- 6:56Speaker 5: food and non-alcoholic drinks in you will have to have
- 6:59Speaker 5: those inspected but clear bags are recommended not required uh
- 7:03Speaker 5: and of course remember proceeds from the fair help support
- 7:05Speaker 5: their year-round community programs which.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Is why we've sold a corny dog walk shirt and
- 7:10Speaker 1: guess what We're going to get to present a check
- 7:12Speaker 1: to the State Fair of Texas today because of the
- 7:14Speaker 1: shirts you've bought. Yes.
- 7:16Speaker 2: And that's a big deal to me.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I love helping out the fair because the fair has
- 7:19Speaker 1: given us so much over the years, so much memories
- 7:22Speaker 1: and things like that. It feels good. But we're not
- 7:24Speaker 1: doing it. We're just being the facilitator. You're really doing
- 7:26Speaker 1: it by buying the shirts. And you can buy the shirts,
- 7:28Speaker 1: I think, until a little bit later on tonight.
- 7:30Speaker 9: Yes.
- 7:31Speaker 1: So if you want to, at Mix1029FM on Instagram, buy one.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Thank you to Lone Star Print. But we really made
- 7:36Speaker 2: it happen this year, and I'm excited.
- 7:37Speaker 5: 100%. Weather going to be warm today for the first
- 7:40Speaker 5: day of the fair. High in the upper 90s. Humidity
- 7:42Speaker 5: will be low, guys. So just a heads up.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Well, I'm worried because last year it wasn't quite this warm.
- 7:49Speaker 5: No.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Or humid.
- 7:51Speaker 7: No.
- 7:51Speaker 5: Is the humidity going to be low today?
- 7:53Speaker 2: It was a little bit crispy, like, out last year.
- 7:55Speaker 2: It was, like, warm if you were in the sun.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Chris posted a picture from last year, and I had
- 7:59Speaker 5: a hoodie around my waist that I had on at
- 8:02Speaker 5: some point.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
- 8:04Speaker 5: And I took off. So, yeah, very different vibe this year.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Last year, when we did the walk to the fair,
- 8:09Speaker 1: it was the perfect weather.
- 8:11Speaker 5: It was.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Now, it was sunny, though. It was sunny.
- 8:14Speaker 1: So if it's cloudy today, it might help. Because the
- 8:16Speaker 1: only thing I'm thinking is when you're wearing a corny
- 8:18Speaker 1: dog costume, it gets swampy in there.
- 8:20Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:21Speaker 9: Okay.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:23Speaker 6: Well.
- 8:23Speaker 1: If you want a swampy, sweaty hug, I'll see you
- 8:25Speaker 1: on the streets of Dallas today.
- 8:28Speaker 5: There you go. Guys, real quick. Hidden Valley Ranch is
- 8:31Speaker 5: releasing their first seasonal product ever for Halloween this year.
- 8:35Speaker 5: They're dropping a limited edition spooky ranch dressing.
- 8:38Speaker 7: Oh.
- 8:39Speaker 5: Yeah, so this ranch is colored black using fruit juice
- 8:42Speaker 5: and cocoa. It comes in a glow-in-the-dark bottle. It's available
- 8:46Speaker 5: at Walmart starting this week.
- 8:48Speaker 1: It's Black Ranch?
- 8:49Speaker 7: It is, yeah.
- 8:50Speaker 5: It's spooky.
- 8:50Speaker 1: All right. Well, do me a favor.
- 8:52Speaker 5: So the bottle can glow in the dark.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Your assignment this weekend is to find it.
- 8:55Speaker 7: Yes.
- 8:56Speaker 1: You get that bottle. You get the Black Ranch. I
- 8:58Speaker 1: get the White Ranch.
- 8:59Speaker 2: And then we'll put the bottles together, and it's me
- 9:01Speaker 2: and you.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I like it. That can be us.
- 9:05Speaker 5: There you go. Everyone's getting into Halloween, though. Dairy Queen
- 9:08Speaker 5: unveiled a new Halloween menu yesterday. They did? So, yeah,
- 9:11Speaker 5: they've got all kinds of stuff going on. But people
- 9:14Speaker 5: are into Halloween. It's the little things that make you happy, right?
- 9:16Speaker 1: I feel like they're not into Halloween. Like, I love Halloween.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I know people are spending more money on Halloween than
- 9:20Speaker 1: ever before.
- 9:21Speaker 10: Yes.
- 9:22Speaker 1: But then, again, I don't see the Halloween decorations up
- 9:25Speaker 1: for long. I see Christmas right away.
- 9:27Speaker 10: Ugh.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I forgot to take a video. There's two people in
- 9:30Speaker 1: my neighborhood who already have their tree up.
- 9:32Speaker 5: Well, I was driving through, I don't know where I was,
- 9:34Speaker 5: somewhere in the middle of Dallas, and I saw someone
- 9:36Speaker 5: getting their Christmas lights installed already. So, yeah, they're just
- 9:40Speaker 5: probably saving money, though.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Okay.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Do it early.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I'm not mad at that.
- 9:42Speaker 7: All right.
- 9:43Speaker 5: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Happy Friday. It's Mix 102.9. Good morning. Bailey the Kid,
- 9:49Speaker 1: Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh. We got Dirty Little Secret at 730.
- 9:52Speaker 1: We got real or fake news coming up next. Right now,
- 9:55Speaker 1: four pack of passes to Cutting Edge for first caller
- 9:58Speaker 1: of the day. Who's this?
- 9:59Speaker 4: This is Levi.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Oh what's up levi what's going on i'm heading to
- 10:02Speaker 1: school are you what school do you go to.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Uh eustace high school oh i guess.
- 10:06Speaker 1: But well nice congratulations you're calling number one yeah let's
- 10:12Speaker 1: go what's the mascot over there The Bulldog. Oh, nice.
- 10:17Speaker 2: I always wanted a Bulldog as a mascot.
- 10:20Speaker 1: And I got a Patriot. What the hell is that?
- 10:24Speaker 1: Either way.
- 10:24Speaker 5: Well, I was a Skeeter.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Hey, congratulations. We appreciate you listening. Have a good day
- 10:28Speaker 1: at school. Is it homecoming this weekend for you or no?
- 10:31Speaker 1: That was last week. Oh, it was? Oh. Well, sorry
- 10:34Speaker 1: I missed it. I'm a week behind. Hey, thank you
- 10:36Speaker 1: so much. We're going to hook you up with a
- 10:37Speaker 1: four-pack of passes to Cutting Edge. Enjoy that, okay?
- 10:39Speaker 5: Okay.
- 10:40Speaker 9: Thanks, Levi.
- 10:40Speaker 8: All right.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Well, you know, I mean, I know what a patriot is.
- 10:43Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 10:44Speaker 1: And it's cool, and I totally love the patriots, and
- 10:46Speaker 1: I'm patriotic. But I wanted like a, you know, in
- 10:48Speaker 1: high school, I wanted like a mean.
- 10:50Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Like a jaguar.
- 10:52Speaker 7: Right.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Or a bear cat.
- 10:54Speaker 7: Right.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Lions.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Yeah, or a lion. You might have had it worse, though.
- 10:58Speaker 7: Skeeters.
- 10:59Speaker 1: But skeeters are very dangerous.
- 11:01Speaker 5: That's right.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Mosquitoes are the most dangerous animal in the world.
- 11:04Speaker 1: All right. Real or fake news, are you ready?
- 11:07Speaker 7: Yep.
- 11:08Speaker 2: By the way, I can't believe my son has homecoming
- 11:10Speaker 2: this weekend.
- 11:10Speaker 5: That's wild.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Shout out to Alito. Alito homecoming. It's just weird because
- 11:15Speaker 1: he's a freshman in high school now, and it's just strange.
- 11:18Speaker 5: Is he going to the dance?
- 11:19Speaker 1: Yeah, he's going, but he's not taking a date. That's fine.
- 11:22Speaker 1: He's like, dad, girls are drama. And I was like, oh, wow, bro.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Don't I know? Who does that sound like? I don't know.
- 11:28Speaker 2: I said, well, you know what? Then just go have
- 11:32Speaker 2: fun with your friends.
- 11:32Speaker 5: Who cares?
- 11:33Speaker 1: Don't worry about who I didn't go with.
- 11:35Speaker 5: Ninth grade.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Ninth grade. I didn't go with a date. Did I? No,
- 11:39Speaker 1: I didn't. Yeah, I did. Oh, I went with a senior. Wow.
- 11:43Speaker 7: I did. Okay.
- 11:45Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 11:45Speaker 5: Big flex.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Big flex. There you go.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Andrea Falsetti.
- 11:50Speaker 7: Oh.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 11:51Speaker 5: Did she ask you or you asked her?
- 11:53Speaker 1: She asked me.
- 11:54Speaker 5: Okay. Just checking.
- 11:56Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I think she was on something. All right. Real or
- 12:01Speaker 1: fake news. Here we go. I'm going to give you
- 12:02Speaker 1: three headlines. You've got to tell me which one is fake.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Headline number one. Man gets locked inside gym overnight after
- 12:09Speaker 1: falling asleep in a massage chair. Man gets locked inside
- 12:13Speaker 1: gym overnight after falling asleep in a massage chair. Some
- 12:16Speaker 1: poo would do. Yeah. Well, no, he wouldn't. He wouldn't
- 12:19Speaker 1: be at a gym.
- 12:19Speaker 5: I was at the gym for five.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Hours.
- 12:24Speaker 2: God, we're checking his location. He's still at the gym.
- 12:26Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 12:27Speaker 1: But he hasn't moved.
- 12:28Speaker 5: Weird.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Oh, I was in the massage chair, dog. All right.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Headline number two.
- 12:32Speaker 7: Yeah. What?
- 12:34Speaker 1: Chinese man has two salons where people pay to get scratched.
- 12:40Speaker 7: What?
- 12:40Speaker 1: Chinese man has two... Pooh, what the... No, to get scratched, dude,
- 12:46Speaker 1: sometimes people be itchy.
- 12:47Speaker 9: All right.
- 12:48Speaker 1: All right. Chinese man has two salons where people pay
- 12:52Speaker 1: to get scratched. The way he said it, I said that,
- 12:55Speaker 1: and he goes, hmm. Ooh.
- 12:58Speaker 7: Ew.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Headline number three. Two Wendy's workers broke into a McDonald's
- 13:04Speaker 1: worker's car.
- 13:06Speaker 7: Oh.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Two Wendy's workers... Broke into a McDonald's worker's car.
- 13:10Speaker 9: Gang, gang.
- 13:11Speaker 1: There you go. Three headlines.
- 13:12Speaker 2: You got to tell me which one do you think
- 13:13Speaker 2: is the fake story?
- 13:15Speaker 1: Let's get serious. Candace Lopez, would you like to have
- 13:18Speaker 1: the first guess? Because ladies first, Skeeters first. Or would
- 13:21Speaker 1: you like to pass it to the Panther himself, Pooh?
- 13:24Speaker 7: Oh, I think.
- 13:24Speaker 1: The original Black Panther.
- 13:25Speaker 5: I think I'm going to go first today. Lock me
- 13:27Speaker 5: in for that last story. The Wendy's breaking into McDonald's story.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 13:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:31Speaker 1: You don't think Wendy's does stuff like that?
- 13:33Speaker 5: I mean, probably, but that's really random.
- 13:35Speaker 7: Okay.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Let's lock it in.
- 13:37Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 13:37Speaker 1: There you go.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Now, Producer Poo, you should really go into the weekend
- 13:41Speaker 2: with a win.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Okay. Because you probably won't get one on the corny
- 13:44Speaker 1: dog walk.
- 13:46Speaker 7: Aw.
- 13:46Speaker 5: He's going to make it.
- 13:47Speaker 1: I got a poll up, by the way, so we
- 13:48Speaker 1: got to see what people are guessing, how long he'll
- 13:51Speaker 1: make it.
- 13:51Speaker 2: I'll check the poll here next. But which one do
- 13:53Speaker 2: you think is the fake story?
- 13:54Speaker 10: Let's go with that first story about the guy falling
- 13:56Speaker 10: asleep and getting locked in the gym.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Okay. I think that's fake. Lock me in. All right,
- 14:00Speaker 1: because you're like, I haven't thought of that, so that
- 14:02Speaker 1: can't be real. It's locked in, and the winner today is... Wow,
- 14:07Speaker 1: he's going in with a dub.
- 14:08Speaker 4: It's Pooh.
- 14:15Speaker 7: Okay.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Yep.
- 14:17Speaker 2: That is the fake story.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Congratulations.
- 14:18Speaker 6: Good job.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Look at you. It must be the new shoes.
- 14:22Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:23Speaker 2: He's got a new shoe.
- 14:24Speaker 5: Those Brooks.
- 14:25Speaker 2: New shoe swag.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Grandpa swag. Oh, my God.
- 14:28Speaker 5: Those are good shoes.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Candice.
- 14:30Speaker 7: They are.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Those are grandpa shoes. No.
- 14:33Speaker 7: No, they're not.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I'm telling you.
- 14:35Speaker 5: It's fine. I got a pop-up ad for the same shoe,
- 14:37Speaker 5: and I asked Eric, my husband, are these cool?
- 14:40Speaker 1: Are these in?
- 14:40Speaker 2: Candice, guess what? You're making sourdough. You're not far behind.
- 14:43Speaker 7: Oh!
- 14:44Speaker 1: Oh, no, he didn't.
- 14:46Speaker 5: I'm just saying. Everyone's making sourdough.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's a grandma activity, grandma core.
- 14:51Speaker 5: Fair enough.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Everyone's saying grandma core's in.
- 14:53Speaker 5: No, it is. That's fine.
- 14:55Speaker 7: I own it.
- 14:55Speaker 5: I accept it.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Grandpa core over here.
- 14:57Speaker 7: No.
- 14:58Speaker 1: He's wearing Brooks shoes with Ed Hardy socks. Okay.
- 15:03Speaker 2: He's not even making it a mile in those.
- 15:06Speaker 5: Those socks look sweaty, though. You know, there's a certain fabric,
- 15:11Speaker 5: nylon or whatever it is that makes your feet sweat.
- 15:14Speaker 5: I don't know if you want to commit to those socks.
- 15:16Speaker 1: I brought a change of socks. These are breathable. Well,
- 15:20Speaker 1: they say you're breathable, too. You can barely breathe.
- 15:24Speaker 5: No, seriously. I just don't want you to be sweaty.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Let's get locked in, guys. Chinese man has two salons
- 15:30Speaker 1: where people pay to get scratched. Okay, so yeah, this
- 15:34Speaker 1: Chinese entrepreneur has opened two unusual salons where customers pay
- 15:37Speaker 1: to relax by having someone, ooh, ooh, gently scratch their bodies.
- 15:41Speaker 9: Whoa.
- 15:43Speaker 1: 32-year-old Zhang Xiao got the idea after watching a video
- 15:46Speaker 1: of a woman scratching her husband's back and reading comments
- 15:49Speaker 1: from people who said they would pay for the same treatments.
- 15:51Speaker 1: She goes, you know what? You want to pay for it?
- 15:53Speaker 1: I'm going to open a salon. That salon blew up,
- 15:56Speaker 1: so she opened another salon. Now she's balling. All she
- 16:00Speaker 1: has is some guy scratching people's backs.
- 16:03Speaker 5: Wow.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Well, it's multiple people, I think, at this point. But
- 16:07Speaker 1: guy or girl, I mean... You know, it's the same.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Pick your preference.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Would you have a man scratch your back?
- 16:11Speaker 1: No, I'd rather a lady with those nails. Yeah, because
- 16:14Speaker 1: sometimes men have nails. Yeah, I don't want a man.
- 16:17Speaker 1: So you just don't want a man scratching your back? No.
- 16:20Speaker 1: That's weird. Would you have a man massage you? No,
- 16:22Speaker 1: I'd rather have a woman massage me. Interesting. Yeah. Candace,
- 16:25Speaker 1: do you care?
- 16:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I'd rather have a woman massage me.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:28Speaker 7: Okay.
- 16:29Speaker 1: What about you? Oh, you don't like to be touched.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I don't want to be touched.
- 16:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Just don't scratch me.
- 16:34Speaker 5: No.
- 16:34Speaker 1: I don't want to be scratched. Those back scratches, boy.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Yeah. Really?
- 16:38Speaker 5: I scratch Enzo's back every night.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:40Speaker 10: Okay.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, good for you guys.
- 16:41Speaker 5: My son, but.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Yeah, right. If you don't know, that's not a side piece.
- 16:46Speaker 7: No.
- 16:47Speaker 1: All right. Two Wendy's workers broke into a McDonald's worker's car.
- 16:52Speaker 7: Wow.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Two Wendy's workers in Georgia were arrested this month after
- 16:55Speaker 1: allegedly breaking into a car owned by an employee at
- 16:58Speaker 1: the McDonald's next door. The McDonald's employee looked outside and
- 17:04Speaker 1: saw two guys in Wendy's uniforms breaking into his car.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Then one of them ran off with his backpack. He
- 17:11Speaker 1: threw a quarter pound of a cheese at one of
- 17:12Speaker 1: their heads. No, you lie. Yeah. Okay. I made that
- 17:14Speaker 1: part up.
- 17:15Speaker 9: Okay.
- 17:16Speaker 2: But that's what he should have done.
- 17:17Speaker 5: You did it in your work clothes?
- 17:19Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Well, how stupid are you?
- 17:21Speaker 9: Yeah, come on. You idiot.
- 17:23Speaker 1: If you're going to break into somebody's car, don't wear
- 17:24Speaker 1: a uniform with your name tag on it. Don't break
- 17:27Speaker 1: into anybody's car.
- 17:28Speaker 7: No.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I mean, but, you know, it's like there is a
- 17:30Speaker 1: little rivalry when it comes to fast food places. I
- 17:31Speaker 1: always ask people that work at McDonald's or, you know.
- 17:34Speaker 1: You ever just, like, drive by and throw up a
- 17:35Speaker 1: gang sign at the Wendy's, you know?
- 17:37Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Or, like, if you're working at, like, who do you
- 17:39Speaker 2: think's the toughest?
- 17:40Speaker 1: Popeye's. Oh, you're right. Yeah, Popeye's employees always got attitudes.
- 17:46Speaker 7: 100%. 100%.
- 17:46Speaker 2: If there was a UFC of fast food workers.
- 17:49Speaker 5: Popeye's would win?
- 17:51Speaker 1: Popeye's beating everybody. Dana White, let's make it happen. Although, although,
- 17:57Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 17:58Speaker 7: What?
- 17:58Speaker 1: Who?
- 17:59Speaker 2: There's some gangsters that work at Arby's.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. And they're not tired.
- 18:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Because they haven't really been working that hard.
- 18:05Speaker 9: They are.
- 18:06Speaker 7: Oh, wow.
- 18:06Speaker 2: That drive-thru line's slow, so they got energy to fight.
- 18:09Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:09Speaker 1: I might pick Arby's.
- 18:11Speaker 5: Okay.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Who would you pick, Candace?
- 18:13Speaker 5: I mean, Arby's sounds good to me, but Burger King
- 18:16Speaker 5: is the king, so.
- 18:17Speaker 2: No, you're taking BK?
- 18:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 18:19Speaker 1: BK workers are okay. Whopper upside the head?
- 18:21Speaker 7: Right. Charbroiled.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Should we fight other radio stations?
- 18:24Speaker 5: No.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I think we should. Who are we fighting? Should we
- 18:28Speaker 1: have Boo fight someone?
- 18:29Speaker 7: No.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Who do you want to fight? Let's go down the
- 18:31Speaker 2: hall and fight Kiss.
- 18:32Speaker 7: Okay.
- 18:35Speaker 5: Why not?
- 18:36Speaker 1: Not too bad today. I mean, it's going to be 90,
- 18:38Speaker 1: but the clouds might help on the corny dog walk.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Hope so. We'll see.
- 18:41Speaker 2: It's Mix 102.9.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Good morning. Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Poo. Also,
- 18:46Speaker 1: we got a dirty little secret at 730. They're saying
- 18:48Speaker 1: it might rain by Sunday.
- 18:49Speaker 5: Good.
- 18:50Speaker 1: And then next week, I was looking ahead. I got
- 18:52Speaker 1: so excited because at one point next week, they're saying
- 18:54Speaker 1: rain and 81. Yes.
- 18:56Speaker 5: Finally.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Oh, fall vibes, girl.
- 18:59Speaker 5: We need it.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Fall vibes. Give me my PSL in my hoodie. Say less.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I was going to do this for real or fake
- 19:05Speaker 1: news and I forgot to do it. But do you
- 19:07Speaker 1: remember the story when we talked about the guy? So
- 19:09Speaker 1: this guy, he got fired from his job and it
- 19:12Speaker 1: was almost like a hot take because he worked for
- 19:14Speaker 1: some kind of feed store in the country. And there
- 19:17Speaker 1: was a place called Bikini Beans.
- 19:20Speaker 9: OK.
- 19:21Speaker 1: And it's a place and these places are popping up everywhere.
- 19:24Speaker 1: It's a place where it's like a Hooters place. Only
- 19:27Speaker 1: a coffee place.
- 19:28Speaker 6: Oh.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:29Speaker 5: Okay.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Wow.
- 19:30Speaker 5: That's new.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Candace. Her face. She said, oh. She goes, oh.
- 19:35Speaker 5: I just haven't heard of that yet.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:38Speaker 1: So there's bikini baristas.
- 19:40Speaker 7: Oh.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Yeah. Duh.
- 19:41Speaker 7: Okay.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Candace. Makes sense. Yeah.
- 19:43Speaker 2: I don't know if we have any here, but there
- 19:44Speaker 2: are some.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Popping up in other places. There's supposed to be one
- 19:46Speaker 1: in Fort Worth. Of course, Pooh would know.
- 19:48Speaker 7: Really?
- 19:48Speaker 1: Yeah. He's like, there's some. to be. I've been there.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I got a loyalty card.
- 19:52Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 19:52Speaker 1: It's not a shop. It's like just to drive to. Well,
- 19:54Speaker 1: that's what this place is. Yeah. Kind of like anyway.
- 19:56Speaker 1: So Bikini Beans, he goes to Bikini Beans. This guy
- 19:59Speaker 1: goes there and he's in a work truck and he's like,
- 20:01Speaker 1: this place is awesome.
- 20:03Speaker 9: You know?
- 20:04Speaker 1: And, you know, like some guys, they'll go to Hooters
- 20:06Speaker 1: and they'll take pictures with the girls.
- 20:07Speaker 5: Right.
- 20:08Speaker 1: So he took a picture with, I guess, some of
- 20:10Speaker 1: the girls. And they were in their bikinis or whatever.
- 20:13Speaker 1: And he goes back to work and he shows it
- 20:14Speaker 1: to his manager. He's like, oh, I went to get
- 20:16Speaker 1: my coffee at Bikini Beans today. Yeah.
- 20:19Speaker 2: They're like, cool.
- 20:20Speaker 1: You're in the company car, company truck, and the company shirt,
- 20:23Speaker 1: and you're fired. Wait, what? They fired the guy.
- 20:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 20:28Speaker 1: So he was all mad. Listened. And we talked about it.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I don't know if you remember it. But listen to
- 20:34Speaker 1: what this guy does. So he gets fired. A month later,
- 20:39Speaker 1: the fire department shows up at the feed store because
- 20:42Speaker 1: somebody sets it on fire. Right? Yeah.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Oh, guess who it was?
- 20:49Speaker 1: It was him. He said he was so mad about
- 20:53Speaker 1: getting fired from the feed store.
- 20:56Speaker 2: He goes back. He goes, well, I'm going to set
- 20:58Speaker 2: this place on fire.
- 21:00Speaker 1: So he lights the hay on fire outside, burns the
- 21:04Speaker 1: place down.
- 21:05Speaker 2: They catch him immediately. Guess how they know it's him?
- 21:08Speaker 5: How?
- 21:10Speaker 1: This is the.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Funniest story to me. I don't know why it cracked
- 21:13Speaker 2: me up.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Because... His phone connected to the Wi-Fi before he set
- 21:18Speaker 1: it on fire automatically. No.
- 21:21Speaker 7: Yes.
- 21:22Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 21:23Speaker 1: So the arson investigators out there are like, well, we're
- 21:25Speaker 1: trying to figure out who exactly was here and at
- 21:27Speaker 1: what time. Because I can tell you the fire started
- 21:29Speaker 1: approximately 2.30 a.m. Right. And one of the investigators is like,
- 21:32Speaker 1: you know what?
- 21:33Speaker 2: I'm going to check the Wi-Fi and see what was
- 21:35Speaker 2: going on.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Let me ping it.
- 21:36Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 21:37Speaker 7: Wow.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Well, the router says at 2.30 it connected to Brian's
- 21:42Speaker 1: phone or whoever the guy is. What was he doing here?
- 21:45Speaker 1: The fired disgruntled employee at 2.30 a.m.
- 21:48Speaker 7: Right.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Setting the place on fire.
- 21:50Speaker 5: Unbelievable.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Isn't that crazy?
- 21:52Speaker 6: Yes.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Oh, my God. All right.
- 21:54Speaker 6: Well.
- 21:55Speaker 1: What a dummy.
- 21:56Speaker 2: I figured I'd tell you that because I thought, what
- 21:58Speaker 2: an absolute idiot.
- 21:59Speaker 5: Right. Something you don't think about if you're a criminal.
- 22:01Speaker 9: Yes.
- 22:01Speaker 1: He caused like $ 100, 000 in damages. So, thankfully, nobody was hurt. But, yeah.
- 22:06Speaker 1: I mean, what an idiot.
- 22:07Speaker 7: Cool.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Either way, we were going to talk about weird things
- 22:09Speaker 1: you do at work. You know what?
- 22:10Speaker 2: Let's save that.
- 22:12Speaker 9: Okay.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Because Candace just randomly roasted me off the air.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Why?
- 22:15Speaker 5: How?
- 22:16Speaker 7: When?
- 22:16Speaker 1: You said, immediately you go, you do weird things here.
- 22:19Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 22:20Speaker 2: What do I do that's weird?
- 22:21Speaker 5: Well, you just like write stuff down. Like I write
- 22:24Speaker 5: some stuff down, but you write like everything down. And
- 22:27Speaker 5: on top of that, you have studio Crocs. You have
- 22:30Speaker 5: a separate pair of shoes for the studio.
- 22:31Speaker 1: I'll tell you what I'm going to write down. My
- 22:32Speaker 1: least favorite employee right now that works here. Candace.
- 22:35Speaker 5: I'm not saying I don't do weird stuff.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Lopez.
- 22:37Speaker 7: Lopez.
- 22:40Speaker 1: No Christmas presents this year.
- 22:44Speaker 10: Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the Kid
- 22:47Speaker 10: in the morning.
- 22:49Speaker 7: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 22:50Speaker 1: It's Friday and we're getting ready for our corny dog walk.
- 22:52Speaker 1: We kick that off at 10 a.m. We leave here
- 22:55Speaker 1: as corny dogs and we walk to the fair.
- 22:57Speaker 7: Yes.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Because it's the State Fair of Texas. First day. It's opening.
- 23:00Speaker 1: I'm excited. And you find us on the way and
- 23:02Speaker 1: you get tickets until we run out.
- 23:04Speaker 7: Right.
- 23:04Speaker 1: And we've got to limit them this year. Last year
- 23:05Speaker 1: I was giving away like four packs to people.
- 23:07Speaker 5: I know.
- 23:08Speaker 1: And I ran out by Royal Lane.
- 23:10Speaker 9: I know.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Oh, we did.
- 23:12Speaker 5: Yeah, that was kind of a mistake.
- 23:14Speaker 1: The bosses yelled at me. They were like, all right,
- 23:16Speaker 1: no more. You got to lamb it on. That's why
- 23:17Speaker 1: they're sending a crew out with us. It's a whole deal.
- 23:20Speaker 1: But we're still going to hook you up.
- 23:21Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, for sure.
- 23:21Speaker 1: It's going to be huge. So find us.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 23:24Speaker 5: Well, parts of Hawaii are bracing for dangerous flooding as
- 23:27Speaker 5: Tropical Storm Nolo gets close. It is expected to strengthen
- 23:30Speaker 5: into a major hurricane before it gets there. I know
- 23:33Speaker 5: the Big Island is under a hurricane watch, but they're
- 23:35Speaker 5: saying parts of Maui could get 5 to 10 inches
- 23:38Speaker 5: of rain, possibly up to 20 inches. some areas so
- 23:42Speaker 5: just thinking about everyone on the islands today it is
- 23:45Speaker 5: Friday though so we should mention a high school football
- 23:48Speaker 5: we got some big games around the Metroplex to talk
- 23:50Speaker 5: about tonight if you guys want to try to pick
- 23:52Speaker 5: the winners you know I do yeah okay so Grapevine
- 23:54Speaker 5: Mustangs are playing Argyle Eagles.
- 23:59Speaker 1: I like Grapevine a lot I know me too I
- 24:01Speaker 1: feel like we're very close to that school because we've
- 24:04Speaker 1: done some cool things at that school yeah Post Malone
- 24:07Speaker 1: went there right Oh.
- 24:09Speaker 2: I'm going to go with Grapevine.
- 24:10Speaker 7: Same.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I've got to go Mustangs.
- 24:11Speaker 5: I've never been to Argyle. Good luck, but I'm going
- 24:14Speaker 5: for Grapevine.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Isn't that where Jason Witten coaches?
- 24:17Speaker 7: Oh, is it?
- 24:17Speaker 1: So I like Argyle. I love him. Has he been
- 24:19Speaker 1: to Argyle or Prosper? I don't know. I thought he
- 24:21Speaker 1: was in Prosper. No, not Prosper. Okay. Either way, they're
- 24:24Speaker 1: both good teams, but I've been to Grapevine. They have
- 24:27Speaker 1: a great staff and a great band.
- 24:28Speaker 5: Yeah, epic band.
- 24:29Speaker 1: So whatever.
- 24:30Speaker 5: Epic booster club. All right, Mustangs, good luck. Pick the
- 24:33Speaker 5: winner out of the Lamar Vikings versus Arlington Colts.
- 24:37Speaker 7: Oh.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Well, I'm going to go ahead and say the Vikings.
- 24:40Speaker 9: Okay.
- 24:41Speaker 1: I'll go with the Vikings. See, he's going with me now. See,
- 24:43Speaker 1: Poo's all going with me because I've been right so
- 24:45Speaker 1: much lately.
- 24:46Speaker 5: I'll take the Colts then.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Okay, go ahead.
- 24:49Speaker 5: And then Denton Broncos versus Ryan Raiders.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Listen, Ryan Raiders.
- 24:55Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 24:55Speaker 7: Okay.
- 24:55Speaker 1: They're good. They're really good.
- 24:57Speaker 5: Well, good luck, everyone, playing tonight. I don't know if
- 25:00Speaker 5: they're good or not. They sound good, so.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Yeah, we just go by usually the mascots.
- 25:04Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly. And don't forget, the Cowboys take on the
- 25:07Speaker 5: Ravens from Brazil Sunday. Kickoff is 325. How do we
- 25:11Speaker 5: got to.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Do all that?
- 25:12Speaker 5: Why do we got to do all what?
- 25:13Speaker 1: Why do we got to go to Brazil?
- 25:14Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, just to tire them out even more.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Right, like we can barely play here.
- 25:19Speaker 4: Oh!
- 25:19Speaker 7: I mean.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Go Cowboys. And I'm a fan for life. And it's
- 25:22Speaker 1: our year, of course.
- 25:24Speaker 7: Right.
- 25:24Speaker 2: But can we just keep it here?
- 25:26Speaker 5: Super quick. Like, I think they're landing in Brazil this
- 25:28Speaker 5: morning and then they'll have a practice. They'll see the
- 25:30Speaker 5: field tomorrow.
- 25:31Speaker 1: That's a 10 hour flight.
- 25:33Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 25:33Speaker 1: No, it's a little bit worried about that.
- 25:35Speaker 5: Right. Guys, big day for Taylor Swift and Swifties. The
- 25:39Speaker 5: life of a showgirl. The encore is out. It has
- 25:42Speaker 5: four new songs, including Patient Zero, which we're going to
- 25:45Speaker 5: get the music video to. on the MTV VMAs, but
- 25:49Speaker 5: do you want to hear a little clip of it?
- 25:50Speaker 1: You want to play Patient Zero?
- 25:51Speaker 5: Yeah, play that one.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Okay, let me hear what it sounds like. If you
- 25:54Speaker 1: want to party with somebody Who might know about the.
- 25:58Speaker 7: Devil On his shoulder, under.
- 26:01Speaker 5: His halo When the toxins take their hold You'd rather
- 26:06Speaker 5: die than let it go But if you're sick of him,
- 26:10Speaker 5: I got you I was Patient Zero Drop it.
- 26:14Speaker 6: Oh, shit.
- 26:16Speaker 7: Okay.
- 26:16Speaker 5: Yeah, so kind of sending a message to whoever's dating
- 26:20Speaker 5: her ex. People are saying this could be about Sophie
- 26:23Speaker 5: Turner and Joe Jonas.
- 26:25Speaker 7: Oh, okay.
- 26:25Speaker 5: Yeah, because, you know, they're friends. She dated him. They
- 26:28Speaker 5: got married, divorced. You know, a lot of things happened
- 26:31Speaker 5: with them over the last couple of years.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Well, we'll play the whole song coming up because, you know,
- 26:35Speaker 1: we're going to do the world premiere. I can't ruin
- 26:36Speaker 1: it just yet.
- 26:37Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure. There's also a song called Cleveland, which
- 26:40Speaker 5: is an upbeat kind of 80s synth style song. It's
- 26:44Speaker 5: a nod to Travis's hometown. She says, he already took
- 26:46Speaker 5: me to Cleveland. Hate All You Like, This Is the
- 26:49Speaker 5: Love of My Life should be a good one. And
- 26:53Speaker 5: then Pink Clouding is the third song. Can I play
- 26:56Speaker 5: a little bit.
- 27:01Speaker 7: Of that? Yeah.
- 27:03Speaker 2: It reminds me of the 1978.
- 27:07Speaker 7: Oh.
- 27:08Speaker 1: That band?
- 27:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Who she dated, that guy.
- 27:11Speaker 5: This one appears to be about regrets after a past relationship,
- 27:14Speaker 5: but we'll have to, you know, give it a few listens. Okay,
- 27:17Speaker 5: a little taste. Well, Tayson, the fourth song is called Babylon.
- 27:27Speaker 5: But yeah, it's out today. I'm sure it's going to
- 27:30Speaker 5: go crazy. Of course. It gets stuck in your head soon.
- 27:33Speaker 5: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 27:35Speaker 10: 102.9.
- 27:36Speaker 5: The new Mix 102.9.
- 27:39Speaker 1: I have one of the best ideas I've ever had
- 27:41Speaker 1: in my entire life, Candace Lopez.
- 27:43Speaker 5: Okay.
- 27:44Speaker 1: It's Mix 102.9. I'm Billy the Kid. Candice is here.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Producer Poo is here. We're getting ready for our banger,
- 27:49Speaker 1: which we're excited about. Look at this beautiful sunrise.
- 27:51Speaker 7: Wow.
- 27:52Speaker 1: This morning, we have a dirty little secret coming up next.
- 27:54Speaker 1: We do our corny dog walk today. It's the first
- 27:56Speaker 1: day of the fair. Life is good.
- 27:57Speaker 5: Yes.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Until we get about 13 miles in and we're sweating
- 28:01Speaker 1: in corny dog costumes.
- 28:02Speaker 9: Right.
- 28:03Speaker 1: We get to give you tickets all day. So when
- 28:04Speaker 1: we start the walk, make sure you find us. Follow
- 28:06Speaker 1: us at Mix 1029 FM. Make sure you listen so
- 28:09Speaker 1: you can keep up with Zan, who's pretty much going
- 28:10Speaker 1: to be on the air all day.
- 28:12Speaker 7: Right.
- 28:12Speaker 1: To check in with us. She's going to be working hard.
- 28:14Speaker 1: So but we were just talking about this place before
- 28:16Speaker 1: we do the banger. This guy who went to this
- 28:19Speaker 1: bikini bean place, it was called. And it's they're popping
- 28:22Speaker 1: up everywhere where they're like bikini places that do coffee
- 28:24Speaker 1: shops like a Hooters for coffee.
- 28:27Speaker 5: Got it.
- 28:27Speaker 1: And then Eric was telling us something about this, but
- 28:29Speaker 1: Kristen's on the phone. Hey, Kristen, good morning.
- 28:31Speaker 4: Yes, sir.
- 28:32Speaker 5: Good morning.
- 28:32Speaker 7: Good morning.
- 28:33Speaker 1: So, Eric, Candace's husband was just telling us about this
- 28:36Speaker 1: place via text.
- 28:37Speaker 2: What is this place called?
- 28:38Speaker 4: It's called Coconut Coffee.
- 28:40Speaker 5: Oh, my gosh.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Where is it?
- 28:43Speaker 1: It's in Waxahachie?
- 28:44Speaker 4: It's in Waxahachie, so they're, like, mobile. They're, like, food trucks,
- 28:48Speaker 4: but they're coffee trucks.
- 28:49Speaker 5: Yeah, my husband's seen it at a Cars and Coffee
- 28:52Speaker 5: one somewhere.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Somebody just texted me the same thing, DMing, and said
- 28:54Speaker 1: it's actually really good coffee.
- 28:56Speaker 5: Is it?
- 28:57Speaker 4: It is really good coffee. So my dad, he was
- 29:00Speaker 4: just hooping and hollering. He's like, oh, I got this
- 29:02Speaker 4: new coffee place. Let's go get a coffee.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Coffee!
- 29:05Speaker 4: And I'm like, okay, cool. And we show up, and
- 29:08Speaker 4: it's these chicks in, like, micro bikinis. I'm talking about, like,
- 29:12Speaker 4: as little bikinis as possibly made.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Really?
- 29:15Speaker 7: Wow.
- 29:16Speaker 5: And he did the whole.
- 29:17Speaker 4: Thing, took the pictures, sent it out in the family
- 29:20Speaker 4: group chat. My dad is just goofy like that.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Your dad's awesome.
- 29:25Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 29:26Speaker 4: I'm telling you. And hey, he didn't get fired from
- 29:28Speaker 4: his job because he's an independent contractor.
- 29:30Speaker 1: I love that you said he was.
- 29:33Speaker 4: He didn't have to worry about getting in trouble, but
- 29:35Speaker 4: now he can't go back because he has a girlfriend.
- 29:37Speaker 1: I love that you said he was hooping and hollering.
- 29:41Speaker 1: He can't go back because he has a girlfriend. Wait,
- 29:44Speaker 1: he can't go back because he has a girlfriend?
- 29:46Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 29:47Speaker 7: Why?
- 29:47Speaker 1: What's wrong with that?
- 29:48Speaker 4: He's just getting coffee. I know, but he had too
- 29:50Speaker 4: much fun at the coconuts coffee.
- 29:55Speaker 1: That makes it. Thank you, Kristen. He has too much
- 29:58Speaker 1: fun at the coconuts. Okay. Before we do the banger,
- 30:02Speaker 1: can I tell you my good idea? Yeah. Yeah. Because
- 30:04Speaker 1: I thought this was maybe if you want to invest,
- 30:07Speaker 1: you better put in now because it's going to be
- 30:08Speaker 1: the biggest thing ever.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Okay.
- 30:09Speaker 1: I think I'm going to start a coffee shop. Okay.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Instead of all women in bikinis, all dudes in thongs.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Wait, all dudes in thongs?
- 30:19Speaker 4: Why?
- 30:19Speaker 2: Because ladies don't get anything.
- 30:21Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 30:22Speaker 2: You ladies don't get treated to stuff like that. Guys have.
- 30:25Speaker 5: Do we want that?
- 30:26Speaker 1: We got rowdy cowboy.
- 30:29Speaker 2: We got hooters.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Yeah, twimpy. We got all that stuff.
- 30:32Speaker 5: All right, but that's y'all's thing.
- 30:33Speaker 2: They close tallywhackers.
- 30:35Speaker 7: Why?
- 30:35Speaker 1: I don't know. Why?
- 30:37Speaker 4: Why?
- 30:37Speaker 1: Tell me why.
- 30:38Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Why, Candace?
- 30:39Speaker 5: No one went.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Well, Eric's already said that he's investing.
- 30:42Speaker 5: No, he hasn't.
- 30:42Speaker 1: He's working there.
- 30:43Speaker 7: No.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Oh, God. Okay, give me a list. You ready? I
- 30:45Speaker 1: got some names that I could call my coffee shop. Okay.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Let's go. That are all dudes and thongs.
- 30:50Speaker 5: We don't want this. Go ahead.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Ladies, you know what? You don't speak for all women, Candace.
- 30:55Speaker 2: No, I don't.
- 30:55Speaker 7: I really don't.
- 30:56Speaker 1: You don't want it, but other women might want it.
- 30:58Speaker 2: But I think a lot of other women would like
- 31:00Speaker 2: to go to the cheeky bean.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Okay. Is that good?
- 31:06Speaker 5: That's pretty good, actually.
- 31:07Speaker 1: All right, we're working on names. What else? I got
- 31:08Speaker 1: to text Eric back.
- 31:09Speaker 7: All right.
- 31:10Speaker 8: Okay.
- 31:11Speaker 1: What about, this is my second name I'm thinking about.
- 31:13Speaker 1: If you want to invest, you better get in early,
- 31:15Speaker 1: Shark Tank people. What about Buns and Brews? Oh, God.
- 31:21Speaker 8: No?
- 31:22Speaker 5: Okay, that works.
- 31:23Speaker 9: All right.
- 31:24Speaker 1: I do like this one. I thought of this name. Okay.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Bottoms Up.
- 31:30Speaker 7: Oh! What?
- 31:33Speaker 1: Okay.
- 31:34Speaker 2: What about all jocks? And these are all buff dudes. Like,
- 31:37Speaker 2: what about Java jocks?
- 31:38Speaker 7: Okay.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Java jocks. Okay.
- 31:39Speaker 7: That could work.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Is that a little bit more family friendly?
- 31:41Speaker 7: I guess.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Well, I even thought the name might be cool.
- 31:45Speaker 1: And you say where you come for the coffee and
- 31:47Speaker 1: stay for the view.
- 31:48Speaker 7: Okay.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Or like where the man is as hot as the coffee.
- 31:54Speaker 9: Oh, okay.
- 31:54Speaker 7: That works.
- 31:55Speaker 5: That's a good tagline.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Last name I'm thinking about, and you tell me if
- 31:58Speaker 2: this is too much.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Okay. Aspresso.
- 32:00Speaker 7: No. Aspresso.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Okay, fine. I'll keep brainstorming.
- 32:07Speaker 5: Okay, yeah. Back to the drawing board.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Do you want to invest, Candace? No.
- 32:11Speaker 6: All right.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Should we do the banger? Here we go. We got
- 32:13Speaker 1: the corny dog walk. I want to work there. Give
- 32:15Speaker 1: me it. No, we don't take you.
- 32:17Speaker 7: Oh!
- 32:19Speaker 1: I said jocks. And buff.
- 32:22Speaker 8: Off your chest, it's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the
- 32:25Speaker 8: Kid in the Morning on Mix 102.9. Brought to you
- 32:28Speaker 8: by Mint Dentistry.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Oh, it's so exciting. It's Mix 102.9. Billy the Kid,
- 32:32Speaker 1: Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh, tell us your dirty little secrets.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Maybe your dirty little secret is you would be a
- 32:38Speaker 1: full-blown loyalty rewards member at Buns and Brew. That is
- 32:44Speaker 1: going to be my new coffee shop. I'm starting off
- 32:46Speaker 1: with all guys in thongs. Okay.
- 32:48Speaker 2: You know, I can't believe you're such a hater.
- 32:50Speaker 5: What?
- 32:50Speaker 1: You never believe in my ideas.
- 32:52Speaker 5: I do.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Why don't women want it?
- 32:54Speaker 5: It might work for a while.
- 32:55Speaker 1: You know what? She said, women don't want this.
- 32:57Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Well, I just got a text from Rebecca who said
- 32:59Speaker 1: she can't wait for it.
- 33:00Speaker 5: Well, I just got a DM from Rebecca that said,
- 33:03Speaker 5: we don't want this.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Oh, wow. I think she's just playing hard to get.
- 33:07Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 33:08Speaker 7: All right.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Why don't men, why don't women like men? What? I
- 33:14Speaker 1: don't get it. Okay, let me, here's what I'm saying.
- 33:16Speaker 5: That's y'all's thing.
- 33:17Speaker 2: No, that's what I want to know. That's what I'm curious.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Like a Hooters can work out for guys because we're
- 33:21Speaker 1: just like, we're guys.
- 33:22Speaker 7: Right.
- 33:23Speaker 1: You know, it's like whatever.
- 33:23Speaker 5: It's acceptable.
- 33:24Speaker 7: Of course. Right.
- 33:25Speaker 5: For some reason.
- 33:25Speaker 1: But why when a Tallywhackers goes out of business, nobody
- 33:28Speaker 1: misses it?
- 33:29Speaker 5: Because we didn't want it in the first place.
- 33:30Speaker 1: First place and that's my question is why.
- 33:32Speaker 5: Don't you we're not built that way why.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Aren't you is it because we're not you just don't
- 33:37Speaker 1: find men attractive.
- 33:38Speaker 5: Like that it's a little different and.
- 33:41Speaker 2: I'm curious i'm trying to get in your.
- 33:42Speaker 5: Head that is comedy to me that's why okay all
- 33:46Speaker 5: right the man in a thong is funny.
- 33:48Speaker 1: So what if i did what if eric and i
- 33:50Speaker 1: and poo i guess oh poo might be able to
- 33:52Speaker 1: be a part of this what if we did dad
- 33:54Speaker 1: bod brewery Okay. We're all dudes with dad bods.
- 33:57Speaker 5: All the Home Depot dads?
- 33:58Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Let's go. Do you want to do that? Would that
- 34:01Speaker 1: be hotter?
- 34:02Speaker 5: Probably, yeah.
- 34:03Speaker 1: See, that's what I'm saying. Girls are so interesting to me.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Women are interesting. You're not really turned on by a
- 34:08Speaker 1: six pack. You want to be like, talk about personality.
- 34:12Speaker 5: It's the thong that's throwing it all off.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Okay, fine.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Hot shorts.
- 34:15Speaker 5: Board shorts.
- 34:16Speaker 2: No, not board shorts. It's got to be a little hotter.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Yeah, come on. What if we do just short shorts? Yeah,
- 34:21Speaker 1: a little.
- 34:22Speaker 2: What about dads and dukes? All dads and daisy dukes.
- 34:25Speaker 7: Oh, wow. No?
- 34:26Speaker 5: Are they denim though?
- 34:28Speaker 1: Dads and jorts. Java jorts. Java jorts.
- 34:32Speaker 6: Let's go.
- 34:32Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 34:34Speaker 1: All right, maybe not.
- 34:35Speaker 5: Okay, we're making progress.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Mark Cuban just texted me and said, absolutely not. I
- 34:39Speaker 1: would kick you off Shark Tank. Okay. All right, 833-787-1029.
- 34:47Speaker 1: If you have a dirty little secret, feel free to
- 34:49Speaker 1: tell us what's going on in your life, your confession,
- 34:51Speaker 1: whatever you got going on.
- 34:53Speaker 2: We'll keep it anonymous, and you got something.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 34:57Speaker 6: Okay. I haven't told anyone this. um not my friend
- 35:01Speaker 6: not my family definitely not my dad um okay but
- 35:05Speaker 6: um dating one of my dad's friends.
- 35:08Speaker 5: What you're dating one of your dad's friends.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Yeah oh okay you're dating one of your dad's friends
- 35:14Speaker 1: one of your.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Dad's friends yeah how does that work Honestly.
- 35:21Speaker 6: I don't even know yet. I mean, the age difference
- 35:25Speaker 6: isn't even the part that freaks me out. It's, like,
- 35:27Speaker 6: who he is, this guy I've known my entire life.
- 35:31Speaker 6: He's part of my family at cookouts, family parties, birthday parties, holidays.
- 35:37Speaker 6: I mean, there are pictures of this guy holding me
- 35:39Speaker 6: when I'm, like, a baby.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Oh!
- 35:42Speaker 7: Yeah. Oh.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Okay, I shouldn't say ooh. I don't know.
- 35:46Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 35:48Speaker 1: So how did it start, though? How did it even
- 35:52Speaker 1: take place to where this is a thing?
- 35:54Speaker 6: Well, okay, so, like, about a month ago, I randomly
- 35:59Speaker 6: bumped into him at this neighborhood restaurant. And we started talking,
- 36:03Speaker 6: which is, like, normal. He's, like, been in my life.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Like, why wouldn't I talk to him?
- 36:06Speaker 6: And I had a drink and caught up. And it
- 36:09Speaker 6: was actually really fun. And we had, like, a really
- 36:11Speaker 6: nice time. And a couple days later, he reached out
- 36:14Speaker 6: to me on Facebook. And at first, it felt totally innocent.
- 36:19Speaker 6: And it was like joking around and talking about that night.
- 36:23Speaker 6: And then he invited me out on his boat.
- 36:26Speaker 1: On the boat. That's how he got you. The boat.
- 36:31Speaker 5: You went, I guess.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Yeah, things hit different when you float, when you're floating.
- 36:35Speaker 1: When you're on the boat, things are different. Okay.
- 36:38Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, we had an amazing time. Nothing happened yet,
- 36:43Speaker 6: but there was like a hard vibe. Like there's just
- 36:46Speaker 6: something there. And then the following weekend, he invited me
- 36:50Speaker 6: over to his house for drinks. And that's when things changed.
- 36:54Speaker 6: We kissed, and then one thing led to another, and now.
- 36:59Speaker 7: Here we are.
- 37:00Speaker 1: With your dead friend?
- 37:03Speaker 7: Oh.
- 37:03Speaker 1: So, okay. How long has this been going on, though?
- 37:08Speaker 6: Like, secretly for about a month.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Okay. What happens, though? I mean, I always ask these
- 37:16Speaker 1: questions when I feel like it's a weird relationship.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Like, where does it go?
- 37:18Speaker 1: Right.
- 37:19Speaker 2: You know what I mean? What's going to happen?
- 37:20Speaker 5: Because you don't think your dad would approve, do you?
- 37:23Speaker 9: Come on.
- 37:25Speaker 6: No, I don't even know if it could eventually even
- 37:29Speaker 6: go anywhere. Like, but somebody's going to find out. And
- 37:31Speaker 6: I don't even want to imagine my dad's face. Like,
- 37:35Speaker 6: he realizes his best friend. Like, what is it going
- 37:37Speaker 6: to do to their relationship? Like. but like when i'm
- 37:41Speaker 6: with him it's good it's like really good and then
- 37:45Speaker 6: when i'm not with him i'm like spiraling because i'm.
- 37:47Speaker 1: Thinking about it can you imagine candace if you were
- 37:50Speaker 1: dating one of your dad's.
- 37:51Speaker 8: Friends no just throwing it out there no so.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Have you ever do you date typically older men.
- 38:01Speaker 6: No, this is the first time. I've never dated my
- 38:03Speaker 6: dad's friend. I've never dated an older guy. I mean,
- 38:07Speaker 6: but this is where I've ended up. I just literally
- 38:09Speaker 6: don't know what to do.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Okay.
- 38:11Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Well, I don't know what to do either.
- 38:13Speaker 5: I just couldn't date someone my dad didn't approve of.
- 38:16Speaker 5: It would just make the relationship too complicated.
- 38:19Speaker 2: You would be on Facebook. You would be listed. It's complicated.
- 38:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Do they still do that?
- 38:24Speaker 5: I mean, I can't imagine not having that person come
- 38:27Speaker 5: around my family or it'd be awkward. You know what
- 38:29Speaker 5: I mean?
- 38:30Speaker 1: The question is, could you ever even tell your dad?
- 38:33Speaker 1: If this started to get real, I mean, obviously you're
- 38:36Speaker 1: going to have to tell him eventually. Then there's no way,
- 38:38Speaker 1: I know as a man, there's no way your dad's
- 38:40Speaker 1: going to be friends with this guy anymore. Because you're
- 38:42Speaker 1: dating my daughter.
- 38:43Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 38:44Speaker 6: There's no way.
- 38:45Speaker 1: You think?
- 38:45Speaker 6: No, absolutely no way.
- 38:47Speaker 1: No, there's no way.
- 38:48Speaker 5: Is it worth all that?
- 38:50Speaker 2: If the connection's there, I don't know.
- 38:51Speaker 1: You don't want to.
- 38:52Speaker 5: Well, like upsetting your dad and then ruining their friendship.
- 38:55Speaker 6: I mean, I don't want to ruin his friendship. I
- 38:57Speaker 6: don't even really understand what happened. Like, it just happened.
- 39:01Speaker 5: I feel like.
- 39:02Speaker 6: But when we're together, it's so good. But I know
- 39:04Speaker 6: there's something super wrong. So, like, I just.
- 39:07Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 39:07Speaker 6: It's giving me a lot of anxiety.
- 39:09Speaker 5: He's going to be blindsided.
- 39:10Speaker 1: It's giving me anxiety.
- 39:11Speaker 5: Me too.
- 39:12Speaker 2: They say you can't help who you love, though.
- 39:14Speaker 1: No, you can help. You can help. What if, like, Poo,
- 39:19Speaker 1: you don't have a daughter, I don't have a daughter,
- 39:20Speaker 1: none of us have daughters. No. I can't even imagine
- 39:24Speaker 1: if that was, like, my daughter was dating someone. Excuse me?
- 39:28Speaker 7: Oh, God.
- 39:29Speaker 5: Your friendship.
- 39:44Speaker 1: I am. No, I can't. Well, good.
- 39:46Speaker 2: Can you please let us know what happens?
- 39:48Speaker 1: Good luck. I don't know what to say. I mean,
- 39:50Speaker 1: you know, listen, you're not going to stop. This is
- 39:52Speaker 1: one of those things that just, it's weird to other people,
- 39:55Speaker 1: but I.
- 39:56Speaker 5: You're both adults. You have to figure out what you're
- 39:58Speaker 5: comfortable with.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 39:59Speaker 2: So good luck and let us know what happens.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Okay.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Okay.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Okay.
- 40:03Speaker 7: Okay.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Thank you. More, the more I think about it, more
- 40:05Speaker 1: disgusted I get. It's just too weird.
- 40:08Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Too weird to me. It's time for Candace Court. It
- 40:13Speaker 1: gets settled here with Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 40:16Speaker 7: All right.
- 40:18Speaker 1: For the Honorable Judge Candace, Corny Dog Lopez. She's got
- 40:22Speaker 1: her Corny Dog scooter ready for Corny Dog support as
- 40:25Speaker 1: we kick off our walk at 10 a.m. That's right.
- 40:27Speaker 1: By the way, I think we're going to be on
- 40:28Speaker 1: the news.
- 40:29Speaker 5: We are, yeah.
- 40:30Speaker 2: We're going to be on the 10.
- 40:32Speaker 1: We love the 10 on Fox 4, so check them
- 40:34Speaker 1: out with Steve and Paige. And it's a great show.
- 40:37Speaker 1: It really is good.
- 40:38Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 40:38Speaker 1: But I'm excited that I get to be on TV
- 40:40Speaker 1: with a corny dog outfit.
- 40:41Speaker 7: Yay. I know.
- 40:42Speaker 5: I went on the show a while back to let
- 40:43Speaker 5: them know, guys, to save the date.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Yeah, so thank you.
- 40:46Speaker 7: And we're here.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Yeah, and we're going to kick it up there. I
- 40:47Speaker 2: think broadcasting from the fair, too.
- 40:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 40:49Speaker 1: First day. So we're going to do the corny dog walk.
- 40:51Speaker 1: We kick it off at 10 a.m. Find us on
- 40:53Speaker 1: the way. Well, we're leaving North Dallas here around 10.
- 40:56Speaker 1: We're going to get down to the fair, hopefully by midnight.
- 41:01Speaker 5: Well, the fair's only open until 10 tonight, so.
- 41:04Speaker 1: No, last year I got there about 7.30 p.m.
- 41:05Speaker 7: Okay.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Because by the time I stop and I'm giving away
- 41:09Speaker 1: tickets the entire way. So find us.
- 41:11Speaker 4: Right.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Make sure you listen because we'll be all over the place.
- 41:13Speaker 1: And sometimes we get lost. And, you know, I almost
- 41:15Speaker 1: got the police called on me. I did get the
- 41:17Speaker 1: police called on me in Highland Park. So rich people,
- 41:19Speaker 1: I'm coming through your neighborhood. Cutting through your grass. If
- 41:22Speaker 1: you see a corny dog. Somebody said, I see what
- 41:25Speaker 1: y'all did. And I was like, what? And Instagram said, well, Billy,
- 41:29Speaker 1: you're one corny dog. And Pooh's the chocolate stuff corny dog.
- 41:32Speaker 7: Oh!
- 41:35Speaker 1: I died laughing.
- 41:36Speaker 5: That's funny.
- 41:36Speaker 1: I died laughing. I was like, if you see a
- 41:39Speaker 1: couple corny dogs in Dora the Explorer on a scooter
- 41:43Speaker 1: behind us.
- 41:45Speaker 5: I did bring my backpack.
- 41:48Speaker 6: Perfect.
- 41:48Speaker 1: All right, let's get to today's case. Candace, are you ready, Candace?
- 41:51Speaker 7: Yes.
- 41:51Speaker 1: I've got an issue at Candace on air. At Candace
- 41:54Speaker 1: on air. Hey, guys, I need some input on something.
- 41:57Speaker 1: I would love it if you could talk about this
- 41:59Speaker 1: for Candace Court. My wife and I have an ongoing
- 42:02Speaker 1: argument that I think about every time I walk into
- 42:05Speaker 1: our closet. So my wife won't let me buy a
- 42:10Speaker 1: new shirt unless I get rid of one. Because she
- 42:15Speaker 1: thinks I have too many clothes and I'm taking up
- 42:18Speaker 1: too much space.
- 42:19Speaker 2: She says this makes total sense.
- 42:22Speaker 1: One in, one out. Meanwhile, she has a closet full
- 42:25Speaker 1: of clothes. And so I guess this rule doesn't apply
- 42:28Speaker 1: to her. She says it's different for women.
- 42:32Speaker 5: Yeah oh really percent different.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Thought it was equal thought everything was equal oh come
- 42:38Speaker 1: on no you come on girl yeah how.
- 42:40Speaker 5: Many types of of wardrobes do you have a wardrobe
- 42:43Speaker 5: what do you have in there me pants shirts are.
- 42:45Speaker 10: You kidding me no i got jeans i got slacks
- 42:48Speaker 10: i got i got khakis i got yeah.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Pants broke down they're all pants my closet is huge and.
- 42:54Speaker 5: It's packed right full of what Black shirts?
- 42:57Speaker 7: Right.
- 42:58Speaker 2: That's not the point.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Yeah. There are different black shirts. There are some shirts
- 43:01Speaker 1: that I like that are fancy black shirts.
- 43:03Speaker 5: But we have shirts, pants, skirts, shorts, dresses, suits, pantsuits.
- 43:10Speaker 5: I mean, all types of things. Formal dresses. We have
- 43:12Speaker 5: short dresses, long dresses.
- 43:14Speaker 1: But what I'm saying is, why should he have to...
- 43:16Speaker 1: I'm going to side with the guy. And I don't
- 43:18Speaker 1: normally side with the men.
- 43:19Speaker 5: Uh-huh.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Because it's like, just do whatever. But he doesn't have
- 43:22Speaker 1: half the amount of clothes. Not even a quarter of
- 43:24Speaker 1: the clothes... And he's got to get rid of a
- 43:26Speaker 1: shirt to bring one in?
- 43:26Speaker 5: But I think it's also like, how many of those
- 43:28Speaker 5: clothes do you actually wear?
- 43:29Speaker 1: How many clothes do you actually wear?
- 43:31Speaker 9: All of them.
- 43:31Speaker 1: I'll call Eric right now.
- 43:32Speaker 5: And I need emergency clothes. Oh, no she didn't. I
- 43:35Speaker 5: need just in case. Well, yeah, because I need a
- 43:38Speaker 5: lot of changes of clothing. Because there's so many different
- 43:40Speaker 5: types of clothes that I have to wear from day
- 43:42Speaker 5: to day.
- 43:43Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 43:45Speaker 2: So Eric has no clothes in the closet? How many
- 43:47Speaker 2: clothes does he have?
- 43:47Speaker 5: He does. He has a section for pants. He's got
- 43:49Speaker 5: a section for shirts and then a section for like
- 43:52Speaker 5: long sleeve shirts.
- 43:53Speaker 1: But what about, like, there's golf shirts. Well, that's a
- 43:57Speaker 1: small section.
- 43:57Speaker 5: His shorts are in the drawers.
- 43:59Speaker 1: And there's workout shorts.
- 44:00Speaker 5: Those are in the drawers also.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Then there's party shorts.
- 44:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 44:03Speaker 5: Those are in the drawer.
- 44:04Speaker 1: He puts everything in the drawer. See, why do we
- 44:06Speaker 1: have to be in a corner? Yeah, so you just
- 44:08Speaker 1: box him up in a drawer? When I was in
- 44:10Speaker 1: a relationship, I had to get rid of half my clothes.
- 44:13Speaker 1: And I was like, well, this is crazy.
- 44:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Well, I need more room in the closet. Yeah, I
- 44:16Speaker 1: did like that.
- 44:17Speaker 10: I was like, I benefited from that.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I had to get poo half my clothes. Oh, right.
- 44:22Speaker 5: Well, yeah, where's she supposed to put her stuff?
- 44:24Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 44:25Speaker 5: In her own room.
- 44:27Speaker 9: What?
- 44:29Speaker 1: She got the whole closet. She had so much of
- 44:31Speaker 1: the closet. I was like, I don't have any.
- 44:33Speaker 5: Well, she needs it. Think about it. And we change
- 44:36Speaker 5: clothes like multiple times a day sometimes.
- 44:38Speaker 1: So do I. Do you think I'm sloppy?
- 44:39Speaker 5: Yeah, but you're just changing from one shirt into another shirt.
- 44:42Speaker 5: One pair of pants into another pair of pants.
- 44:44Speaker 1: What are you doing?
- 44:45Speaker 5: Yeah, well, we're changing into dresses. We're changing into skirts.
- 44:48Speaker 5: We're changing into slacks.
- 44:49Speaker 1: I'm changing into jeans. I'm changing into a dress shirt, maybe.
- 44:52Speaker 2: You act like you're on Broadway, like you're doing outfit changes.
- 44:55Speaker 5: Three per day, yeah.
- 44:57Speaker 1: I mean, I know you're going to have more, but
- 44:58Speaker 1: it's excessive that we got to get rid of things
- 45:00Speaker 1: every time he wants to bring in a shirt.
- 45:02Speaker 5: Well, we kind of try to do this with toys, too,
- 45:04Speaker 5: like around the holidays and stuff, like one toy.
- 45:06Speaker 2: I'm not getting rid of my toys.
- 45:07Speaker 5: If you're going to get a new toy, then you
- 45:09Speaker 5: should donate a toy.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Are you talking about friends, though?
- 45:11Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 45:12Speaker 5: Now, I get it's difficult. You're just going to donate
- 45:14Speaker 5: one shirt at a time. You're not going to do that.
- 45:16Speaker 1: It's just, okay, whatever. She's bogarting the whole closet.
- 45:20Speaker 5: As she should.
- 45:21Speaker 1: This is one of those moments. It's so awesome to
- 45:22Speaker 1: be single. I'll take the.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Whole closet, do whatever I want with it. I'll put
- 45:26Speaker 2: a bar in there.
- 45:29Speaker 5: A bar?
- 45:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:30Speaker 5: Okay.
- 45:31Speaker 1: All black shirts and whiskey.
- 45:33Speaker 5: I mean, more power to you.
- 45:34Speaker 1: I'll do whatever I want.
- 45:35Speaker 5: Nobody's going to tell you you can't.
- 45:37Speaker 1: That's right.
- 45:38Speaker 5: Go put a bar in your closet.
- 45:40Speaker 1: But it is nice to have someone sometimes. All right,
- 45:43Speaker 1: Candace Lopez, do we have a verdict?
- 45:45Speaker 5: Yeah, sir, I'm sorry. You're guilty. You're guilty of being
- 45:47Speaker 5: a walk-in closet, Walter.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 45:50Speaker 5: It's a walk-in closet, so she can walk in there
- 45:52Speaker 5: and organize all her stuff. You have so much stuff
- 45:55Speaker 5: in there that you don't even wear, sir, so you
- 45:56Speaker 5: probably have more than one that can come out.
- 45:59Speaker 1: I love.
- 46:00Speaker 5: I love.
- 46:01Speaker 1: If the same mentality was applied to women, if you
- 46:03Speaker 1: haven't worn this in the past month and get rid
- 46:05Speaker 1: of it, the whole closet would be empty.
- 46:07Speaker 5: We do have this one rule, and that's my hoodie collection.
- 46:09Speaker 5: Eric does tell me, look, one out, one in kind
- 46:11Speaker 5: of vibe is probably a good idea for you.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Well, that's fair.
- 46:13Speaker 5: You know, he's right.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Yeah, no, he usually is.
- 46:15Speaker 5: I have way too many hoodies. They take up a
- 46:17Speaker 5: lot of space.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Yeah, way too many. All right, he is guilty of
- 46:21Speaker 1: being a.
- 46:22Speaker 5: A walk-in closet Walter.
- 46:23Speaker 1: I don't agree, but it's not my court. Texas Top
- 46:27Speaker 1: Stories on the 10s with Billy the.
- 46:29Speaker 7: Kid in the Morning. Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 46:33Speaker 1: We are about two hours away from launching the Corny
- 46:35Speaker 1: Dog Walk, the second annual Corny Dog Walk, and the
- 46:37Speaker 1: sun is out. A little bit nervous. I thought it
- 46:39Speaker 1: was going to be cloudy.
- 46:40Speaker 5: I did too.
- 46:41Speaker 1: It is about to get hot in those corny dog
- 46:44Speaker 1: outfits as we walk down to the fair today. Start
- 46:46Speaker 1: that at 10, but if you find us, we'll give
- 46:47Speaker 1: you tickets until we run out. So make sure you
- 46:50Speaker 1: listen to find out where we're at. And that 14-mile trek.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 46:54Speaker 5: Yeah, of course. State Fair opening at 10 a.m. this morning.
- 46:58Speaker 5: Here's some stuff you should know before you go today.
- 47:00Speaker 5: This year's theme is Stars, Stripes, and Howdies. Tickets go
- 47:06Speaker 5: from $ 15 to $ 25. And then kids 3 to 12
- 47:09Speaker 5: can get in for $ 10. Parking is $ 25, just a
- 47:12Speaker 5: heads up. But the fair has also announced a new
- 47:15Speaker 5: Everyday Values program. So more than 200 food and drink
- 47:18Speaker 5: items are priced at $ 10 or less today. And then
- 47:21Speaker 5: most Midway rides and games cost less this year, too.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Yeah, which is good news.
- 47:25Speaker 2: And also, too, if you want to save, take the dart.
- 47:27Speaker 2: I mean, the dart is so easy.
- 47:28Speaker 1: It drops you off right there.
- 47:29Speaker 5: Yeah, it's super convenient. It really is. And don't forget,
- 47:32Speaker 5: if you have coupons left over from last year, they
- 47:35Speaker 5: never expire. So be sure to bring them. You can
- 47:38Speaker 5: take bags, coolers, food, and non-alcoholic drinks into the fair.
- 47:42Speaker 5: You will have to have them inspected. They say clear
- 47:45Speaker 5: bags are recommended but not required. And always remember, proceeds
- 47:48Speaker 5: from the fair help support their year-round community programs. So, yeah,
- 47:53Speaker 5: whatever you spend out there, it's going to a really
- 47:56Speaker 5: good cause.
- 47:56Speaker 1: Well, and a lot of the vendors, too, are local businesses.
- 47:59Speaker 1: And this helps their businesses out tremendously.
- 48:03Speaker 5: It does.
- 48:04Speaker 1: So, you know, I mean, hey, and a lot of the, like,
- 48:06Speaker 1: big tech's choice stuff that was, like, in the awards
- 48:09Speaker 1: for the finalists, A lot of that is big enough
- 48:11Speaker 1: you can share.
- 48:12Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 48:13Speaker 1: This is a lot. It's so many coupons, but two
- 48:16Speaker 1: people can eat it.
- 48:17Speaker 9: Right.
- 48:17Speaker 2: So trust me, just go in on the stuff and
- 48:20Speaker 2: it's worth it.
- 48:20Speaker 6: Yes.
- 48:21Speaker 5: Warm today for the fair. Partly sunny. High in the
- 48:24Speaker 5: upper 90s today. So just a heads up.
- 48:26Speaker 7: Oh, wait.
- 48:27Speaker 1: Upper 90s?
- 48:28Speaker 5: Sorry, low 90s.
- 48:29Speaker 1: Oh, girl.
- 48:30Speaker 5: She had me scared.
- 48:31Speaker 1: I was like, what?
- 48:32Speaker 5: Low to mid 90s in some parts of the Metro Blitz.
- 48:34Speaker 2: I was going to pass out by mile five.
- 48:36Speaker 5: Well, yeah, it's going to be hot for sure. Guys,
- 48:39Speaker 5: Hidden Valley Ranch is releasing their first seasonal product ever
- 48:42Speaker 5: for Halloween this year. They're dropping a limited edition spooky
- 48:46Speaker 5: ranch dressing.
- 48:47Speaker 7: Oh.
- 48:48Speaker 5: Yeah, I just saw a picture of it. So they've
- 48:51Speaker 5: colored the ranch black using fruit juice and cocoa. It
- 48:54Speaker 5: comes in a glow-in-the-dark bottle. It's going to be available
- 48:57Speaker 5: at Walmart starting this week.
- 48:59Speaker 1: Every time something's a different, like, you know, if you're
- 49:01Speaker 1: eating something that's a different color than it typically is,
- 49:03Speaker 1: it tastes the same. And to me, it never tastes
- 49:05Speaker 1: the same.
- 49:06Speaker 7: Really?
- 49:06Speaker 2: You know, remember back in the day when there was
- 49:07Speaker 2: clear Pepsi?
- 49:08Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 49:09Speaker 2: People were like, it's the same thing.
- 49:11Speaker 1: You know, crystal Pepsi.
- 49:12Speaker 2: No, I could taste the difference.
- 49:13Speaker 5: I felt like I could, too, but I don't know
- 49:15Speaker 5: if that was mental. But if they put cocoa in it,
- 49:17Speaker 5: I mean, typically you could taste that. I don't know
- 49:19Speaker 5: how much. they need to change the color of it, but.
- 49:22Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 49:22Speaker 2: I mean, I like Hidden Valley Ranch, but.
- 49:24Speaker 5: But just having, like, dark dressing on your salad feels weird.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Weird thing.
- 49:29Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly. Guys, looks like Glee is getting a reboot.
- 49:33Speaker 5: Co-creator Ryan Murphy says a script has already been written
- 49:36Speaker 5: and is apparently getting a lot of interest from the
- 49:39Speaker 5: original cast. I guess he's been in contact with around
- 49:42Speaker 5: 10 of them, including Lea Michele and Jane Lynch. He
- 49:45Speaker 5: says he still wants to write a few more episodes.
- 49:47Speaker 5: before distributing the script uh no studio or network has
- 49:51Speaker 5: been announced uh with the project just yet but if
- 49:53Speaker 5: you remember the original glee ran from 2009 to 2015
- 49:55Speaker 5: so a lot of people would love to see it
- 49:59Speaker 5: come back it was a big show huge huge show
- 50:01Speaker 5: i'll keep you posted i'm candace lopez those are your
- 50:04Speaker 5: texas top stories the new mix 102.9.
- 50:12Speaker 7: Oh, that's a hot take. Let us know what you think.
- 50:15Speaker 7: Here's today's hot take.
- 50:17Speaker 1: It's Mix 102.9. Good morning. Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez
- 50:20Speaker 1: is here. Producer Poo is here. Now, let me ask
- 50:22Speaker 1: you this. Would you walk out on a date if
- 50:25Speaker 1: they lied about having kids?
- 50:28Speaker 5: Walk out?
- 50:28Speaker 1: Would you walk out of the first date if you
- 50:31Speaker 1: found out they were lying about having kids? Because it
- 50:33Speaker 1: happened to this girl, and I saw it go viral
- 50:35Speaker 1: on TikTok. Her name's Amanda Martinez. And she was describing
- 50:38Speaker 1: what happened. So she basically meets this guy on Hinge.
- 50:42Speaker 1: They talk, but they don't talk a lot. You know,
- 50:44Speaker 1: it wasn't like this was some in-depth conversation. They're going
- 50:47Speaker 1: back and forth a little bit via text. And they're like, OK, well,
- 50:50Speaker 1: we should meet up, have a drink, whatever. So they
- 50:52Speaker 1: get to the first date or whatever. And he says, yeah, so,
- 50:56Speaker 1: you know, I have a child, blah, blah, blah. And
- 50:58Speaker 1: she was like, oh, OK. Well, yeah, it says in
- 51:01Speaker 1: my profile pretty clearly I don't want kids.
- 51:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 51:04Speaker 2: And he's like, oh, well, that's cool. You don't have
- 51:07Speaker 2: a kid.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Okay.
- 51:09Speaker 9: You know?
- 51:09Speaker 1: I do. She's like, well, yeah, but I'm going to
- 51:13Speaker 1: go ahead and just say, I don't know if this
- 51:15Speaker 1: is going to work out. And she leaves.
- 51:17Speaker 5: Okay.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Now, did she leave? My thing is, did she leave
- 51:20Speaker 1: because she truly was like. that's weird or was she
- 51:24Speaker 1: just not into him?
- 51:25Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a good question. If she put it in there,
- 51:27Speaker 5: how did you not see it? But like you said,
- 51:29Speaker 5: maybe it was a misunderstanding. He just thought she didn't
- 51:31Speaker 5: want to have kids.
- 51:32Speaker 2: Well, that's what it said though.
- 51:33Speaker 10: Right.
- 51:34Speaker 1: It said she didn't want to have kids. It didn't say,
- 51:35Speaker 1: I don't want to deal with kids. Right.
- 51:37Speaker 5: I don't want to date someone with kids.
- 51:38Speaker 2: It did not say that.
- 51:39Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 51:39Speaker 1: The profile says, I don't want kids. If somebody says, now,
- 51:43Speaker 1: if somebody said to me, I don't want kids. Now
- 51:44Speaker 1: I'm a single guy who has a 15 year old son.
- 51:47Speaker 9: Right.
- 51:48Speaker 1: If somebody said, I don't want kids, I wouldn't automatically
- 51:50Speaker 1: think that I'm not for them. OK, I'm thinking automatically, well,
- 51:53Speaker 1: they don't want any more kids or they don't want kids.
- 51:57Speaker 1: But I wouldn't think I'm eliminated from the equation.
- 52:00Speaker 5: Wouldn't she put looking for single no kids?
- 52:03Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 52:04Speaker 9: Right.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Be more specific on your profile.
- 52:06Speaker 5: Yeah, it was not very clear, but.
- 52:08Speaker 1: Was she right? And he was basically like, well, I
- 52:10Speaker 1: don't know. I feel like if you didn't if I
- 52:12Speaker 1: would have. I just don't talk about kids until a
- 52:14Speaker 1: little bit later on.
- 52:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 52:16Speaker 5: Well, that's weird.
- 52:17Speaker 1: That's a little weird to me.
- 52:18Speaker 5: Wouldn't your kids come up in the very first conversation
- 52:21Speaker 5: you ever had with someone first date or before?
- 52:23Speaker 1: It does for me.
- 52:24Speaker 5: Yeah, it would for sure. I would think if.
- 52:27Speaker 2: You creep on my social media, there's no way you
- 52:29Speaker 2: don't know. I have a child.
- 52:30Speaker 1: I mean, he's, he's in my bio and my most
- 52:33Speaker 1: important job is writer's dad.
- 52:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:35Speaker 1: You know?
- 52:35Speaker 2: So like in poo, poo single too.
- 52:37Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 52:38Speaker 1: He has kids. He brings them up. We talk about it.
- 52:40Speaker 1: I don't know how you would be a father or
- 52:42Speaker 1: a mother, uh, Unless you don't post your kids on
- 52:44Speaker 1: the Internet. Right, which is fine. That's fine. I respect that.
- 52:48Speaker 1: But then I feel like I would make it a
- 52:49Speaker 1: point to tell you, like, hey, we're telling a little
- 52:52Speaker 1: bit about each other. I have a child. I have
- 52:54Speaker 1: a son who's 15. Right. So-and-so. Because I see on
- 52:58Speaker 1: your profile you don't want kids. But it's weird to
- 53:01Speaker 1: me because I guess the younger people nowadays, Gen Z,
- 53:05Speaker 1: they are discussing non-negotiables up front. Right.
- 53:09Speaker 5: Interesting. There's so many options and they don't want to
- 53:12Speaker 5: waste time. Like they have all the technology and things to,
- 53:16Speaker 5: to come up with a list of people who meet their,
- 53:18Speaker 5: you know, specific requirements.
- 53:20Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 53:20Speaker 1: But isn't that kind of the, I mean, I just
- 53:22Speaker 1: feel like it comes off so abrasive to just laundry
- 53:25Speaker 1: list your non-negotiables on a first date.
- 53:28Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 53:28Speaker 2: Like, so, okay, here's what I don't want. I'm not
- 53:31Speaker 2: going to deal with this.
- 53:32Speaker 1: I'm not. Well, okay.
- 53:33Speaker 10: Let me get to know you first. And besides that, I'll,
- 53:36Speaker 10: I'll tell you, I have kids. But it'll take a
- 53:39Speaker 10: while before I introduce you. Oh, that's a whole different thing.
- 53:41Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a whole other conversation. But are people really
- 53:44Speaker 5: going on first dates where they haven't discussed like the
- 53:46Speaker 5: basics of your life? Like the first thing.
- 53:48Speaker 9: Yes.
- 53:49Speaker 5: I'm this old.
- 53:50Speaker 7: I am.
- 53:50Speaker 5: This is my status. And this is my status with children.
- 53:53Speaker 1: No, I really think Gen Z, they go out where
- 53:56Speaker 1: I feel like we were to go. You've been married
- 53:57Speaker 1: for a long time. But I feel like we go
- 54:00Speaker 1: out and like if we're going to discuss and we're
- 54:02Speaker 1: going to have a conversation with the person beforehand. where
- 54:05Speaker 1: I feel like younger people go out and they're just like,
- 54:07Speaker 1: we meet on hinge and we just meet. We don't.
- 54:09Speaker 1: have a discussion. We don't text a lot. We don't
- 54:10Speaker 1: talk on the phone.
- 54:11Speaker 5: That's so weird to me.
- 54:12Speaker 1: That's weird to me too.
- 54:14Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 54:14Speaker 2: And then you just meet, then you hang out and
- 54:16Speaker 2: you're like, well, that didn't work.
- 54:17Speaker 7: Right.
- 54:17Speaker 5: Are they just more open to meeting up with people faster.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Than we were? I think so. I know. I know.
- 54:24Speaker 1: That's what I feel like because, and I'm not going
- 54:27Speaker 1: to sit there and go like, I don't even know
- 54:28Speaker 1: if I have a non-negotiable. Do I have a non,
- 54:30Speaker 1: they have a list of ready to go non-negotiables. Like
- 54:34Speaker 1: if you don't like kids, obviously that's a non-negotiable because
- 54:36Speaker 1: I have a son.
- 54:37Speaker 7: Right.
- 54:38Speaker 1: But so that would be a non-negotiable, but that's like
- 54:40Speaker 1: your thing, not my thing.
- 54:42Speaker 4: Right.
- 54:42Speaker 1: So what would my, like, who do you have a
- 54:44Speaker 1: non-negotiable when you think about it? Do you have like
- 54:45Speaker 1: something like. There's no way I would date somebody. This
- 54:48Speaker 1: is my non-negotiable. No, not really.
- 54:50Speaker 10: I'm an equal opportunity employee.
- 54:52Speaker 2: I think we do. I just don't think I could
- 54:54Speaker 2: think of mine.
- 54:55Speaker 5: They have a hot ex?
- 54:56Speaker 1: No.
- 54:57Speaker 3: No.
- 54:57Speaker 1: Would that matter?
- 54:58Speaker 5: I don't know. Would it, Pooh? If you knew her
- 55:01Speaker 5: ex was super hot?
- 55:02Speaker 2: Why are you looking at Pooh for that?
- 55:03Speaker 1: Is it something I don't know? I don't know.
- 55:06Speaker 5: No, no.
- 55:07Speaker 1: Why are you two colluding?
- 55:09Speaker 10: No, we're not colluding, but I think she's probably remembering,
- 55:12Speaker 10: you know, my ex is, you know, the one that
- 55:15Speaker 10: needed space.
- 55:16Speaker 1: You know, she went after an athlete. You know, she
- 55:18Speaker 1: left me for an athlete. You know that, right? She
- 55:20Speaker 1: left you for an athlete? Yeah, he was an athlete. Yeah. Well, yeah,
- 55:24Speaker 1: but that's not... That's a hot ex of hers. I mean.
- 55:27Speaker 5: Well, it is now.
- 55:29Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 55:32Speaker 5: Yeah, like if he started dating a girl and he
- 55:35Speaker 5: knew that she had a super hot ex, would he
- 55:37Speaker 5: be intimidated by that?
- 55:38Speaker 1: I wouldn't care. Wouldn't bother me.
- 55:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 55:40Speaker 1: So... Yeah?
- 55:42Speaker 2: What, you don't think we're hot?
- 55:43Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 55:45Speaker 5: I'm just saying how you feel about yourself in the relationship.
- 55:50Speaker 1: You know what I said?
- 55:50Speaker 5: You guys are hot.
- 55:52Speaker 1: You don't think we're hot? You laughed out loud? You LOL'd.
- 55:55Speaker 5: I just pictured y'all in your corny doll costumes.
- 55:57Speaker 1: Oh, man, come on, man. What a crazy day. I'm
- 56:03Speaker 1: getting roasted in my DMs right now.
- 56:05Speaker 5: Yeah, good.
- 56:07Speaker 2: It's Mix 102.9.
- 56:07Speaker 1: Did you say good?
- 56:08Speaker 7: Yeah. Why?
- 56:09Speaker 5: Tell us why they're roasting you.
- 56:11Speaker 1: Okay, it's Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Poop, because
- 56:13Speaker 1: I thought I had the most brilliant idea ever. And
- 56:16Speaker 1: I heard about this coffee place with, like, bikini baristas,
- 56:19Speaker 1: and I guess the place is called Coconuts in Waxahachie,
- 56:23Speaker 1: and it's like a mobile spot that moves around. And
- 56:25Speaker 1: I thought, well, ladies, you want something, too. Like, forget
- 56:28Speaker 1: the men. You want baristas, like hot baristas. So I thought,
- 56:32Speaker 1: all right, let's get some guys and thongs serving coffee.
- 56:36Speaker 2: Apparently women don't want that.
- 56:37Speaker 1: They don't. I've gotten so many messages.
- 56:40Speaker 5: Me too.
- 56:41Speaker 1: I thought the cheeky bean was going to be the
- 56:42Speaker 1: next big thing. Miriam sent me the funniest message. Miriam said, Billy,
- 56:47Speaker 1: you're thinking.
- 56:49Speaker 2: Like a man about what women want.
- 56:51Speaker 7: LOL.
- 56:52Speaker 1: We don't need the thong. Put his clothes back on.
- 56:55Speaker 1: Give him rolled up sleeves and have him kneading sourdough.
- 57:00Speaker 1: Have another guy hand grinding the coffee beans. Give me
- 57:03Speaker 1: a cowboy making an espresso. A guy carrying a 50-pound
- 57:07Speaker 1: bag of flour over his shoulder.
- 57:08Speaker 7: Oh.
- 57:09Speaker 5: There you go, Miriam.
- 57:11Speaker 1: Okay, Miriam.
- 57:12Speaker 2: So I'm redoing my business plan is my point.
- 57:14Speaker 7: Okay, good.
- 57:15Speaker 1: Yes, she said it's not about seeing everything. It's about
- 57:17Speaker 1: watching a man confidently do something. That's the coffee shop.
- 57:20Speaker 1: Candace is right.
- 57:21Speaker 5: There you go.
- 57:23Speaker 1: So, all right, you know what? Give me my business plan.
- 57:25Speaker 5: I understood the assignment.
- 57:26Speaker 1: So no more Cheeky Bean?
- 57:29Speaker 7: No.
- 57:29Speaker 1: All right. I'm throwing that one away. We're working on something.
- 57:32Speaker 1: We're going to unveil Cowboy Coffee Monday.
- 57:36Speaker 5: That could work.
- 57:36Speaker 1: Yeah, either way. All right. Corny Dog Walk. And I'll
- 57:39Speaker 1: get serious and talk about our Corny Dog Walk.
- 57:41Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 57:42Speaker 1: Because what's not serious about two corny dogs walking to
- 57:45Speaker 1: the fair and giving you tickets? But more importantly is
- 57:48Speaker 1: something that we've been doing that I think is very special.
- 57:51Speaker 1: The State Fair of Texas has been so awesome to
- 57:53Speaker 1: give us tickets to give away today on our Corny
- 57:54Speaker 1: Dog Walk. I think a lot of people don't know
- 57:57Speaker 1: the amazing things that the State Fair of Texas does
- 58:00Speaker 1: as a nonprofit. So I really wanted to just kind
- 58:03Speaker 1: of highlight it. And we've had so many great businesses. And,
- 58:06Speaker 1: you know, like we had yesterday the Crum Bakery call in,
- 58:11Speaker 1: Crumwell Bakery. And it was just cool because they help
- 58:13Speaker 1: so many local businesses. They help farmers. They help give back.
- 58:18Speaker 1: You know, to the community, food, some of the leftover
- 58:21Speaker 1: food from the fair they give to pantries, food pantries.
- 58:23Speaker 5: Yeah, and I didn't know as a kid going on
- 58:24Speaker 5: Wednesdays and taking canned food, I didn't realize why we
- 58:27Speaker 5: were taking canned food.
- 58:28Speaker 2: Yeah, you're trying to get in free, but they do
- 58:30Speaker 2: a lot of good stuff.
- 58:31Speaker 1: They do. So we're going to be lucky enough to
- 58:32Speaker 1: present them with a check today, which is awesome. But
- 58:35Speaker 1: I'm bringing people on that they've helped. So Colton is
- 58:37Speaker 1: a 16-year-old Waxahachie. who's never been to Coconuts. He already
- 58:40Speaker 1: told me. I asked him. I said, you can't go there, Colton.
- 58:43Speaker 1: He's too good. But Colton's on the phone.
- 58:45Speaker 2: And, yeah, he's awesome.
- 58:46Speaker 1: Colton, hey.
- 58:47Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 58:47Speaker 9: How are y'all doing this morning?
- 58:49Speaker 2: It's the first day of the fair.
- 58:50Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 58:51Speaker 5: Woo!
- 58:51Speaker 7: Woo!
- 58:53Speaker 1: Yes, sir. We're excited. Not as excited as you, and
- 58:55Speaker 1: I think it's really cool because at 16, you're an
- 58:59Speaker 1: ambassador for the fair, right?
- 59:01Speaker 5: Yes, sir.
- 59:02Speaker 9: So I am a Texas Youth Livestock Ambassador through 4-H.
- 59:07Speaker 9: I am also a chapter and district officer.
- 59:10Speaker 1: Through ffa look at all this stuff that you do
- 59:12Speaker 1: i mean that's that's great i love that and i
- 59:14Speaker 1: love that the fair allows you to to be an
- 59:16Speaker 1: ambassador and to really kind of promote what you do
- 59:19Speaker 1: and what you're.
- 59:19Speaker 2: Passionate about which is livestock Yes, sir.
- 59:22Speaker 1: So do you go around and teach people and educate
- 59:25Speaker 1: them on how to take care of livestock and what
- 59:27Speaker 1: you do and why it's important?
- 59:28Speaker 9: So me and my brother started our business back in 2018.
- 59:34Speaker 4: We raised club lambs.
- 59:35Speaker 6: It's called 4C Livestock.
- 59:37Speaker 9: We go around and people that ask us for help,
- 59:40Speaker 9: we are able to help them learn how to feed
- 59:43Speaker 9: and take care.
- 59:44Speaker 6: Of their animals.
- 59:45Speaker 1: That's amazing. Good for you.
- 59:46Speaker 2: And you've got a show today at the fair, too.
- 59:48Speaker 9: Yes, sir. We will be showing later today.
- 59:50Speaker 2: Now, what all do you show?
- 59:51Speaker 4: So I just show.
- 59:53Speaker 9: Sheep, specifically medium wolves as their breed.
- 59:57Speaker 1: Wow.
- 59:57Speaker 9: But I help people that show just about anything from
- 1:00:00Speaker 9: sheep and goats, and that's mainly it.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: Well, what do you look for when you're looking for
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: a solid sheep? Because this fascinates me as a city boy.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Like you're looking at a sheep. What's the first thing
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: that Colton looks at?
- 1:00:12Speaker 9: So I do get asked this question a lot. So
- 1:00:15Speaker 9: the first thing we look at is if you're thinking
- 1:00:18Speaker 9: about just a good sheep, we want them to be.
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: Built like a bodybuilder.
- 1:00:23Speaker 9: So we want them to have the most muscle as
- 1:00:25Speaker 9: possible because at the end of the day, they're market sheep.
- 1:00:28Speaker 9: So they're getting sold to be produced as meat products.
- 1:00:32Speaker 9: So we want them to be as muscly as possible
- 1:00:35Speaker 9: and have big old hips on them and that kind
- 1:00:37Speaker 9: of stuff.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Big old hips. You need the big hips.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: Yeah, you got to be swole.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: You want a swole sheep. So sheeps work out? Yeah,
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: they get swole. Like you wouldn't want a sheep like
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: my producer Pooh who skips leg day.
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: Right?
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: You wouldn't want that.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: No, we wouldn't want that.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: His hips are too skinny. He needs bigger hips. OK, see,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: I see I'm already catching on, Colton. Well, good. Well, hey,
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: you know what? You're a great ambassador. I love that
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: you have a business at 16. I love that the
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: fair has been able to help you out and and
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: really just give you a platform to talk about all
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: the incredible things you do. And all jokes aside, I
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: know your parents are probably really proud of you. And
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: I think. Everybody listening is going, wow, what a smart
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: young man. So thanks for taking some time with us
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: and good luck at your show today. I appreciate it.
- 1:01:26Speaker 9: Thank y'all.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: You hear the animals in the background?
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: I love it. I love that.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: State Fair Texas kicks off today.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: And, you know, buy a shirt. You got time. Our

- 1:01:36Speaker 1: out and gives, you know, some money to an incredible cause.

- 1:01:43Speaker 7: Only on the new Mix 102.9. Candace Lopez, what's up?
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: Well, parts of Hawaii are bracing for dangerous flooding as
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: Tropical Storm Nolo gets close. It is expected to strengthen
- 1:01:54Speaker 5: into a major hurricane before it gets there. I know
- 1:01:57Speaker 5: the Big Island is under a hurricane watch. They're saying
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: Maui could get 5 to 10 inches of rain, possibly
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: up to 20 inches. some areas so we're keeping an
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: eye on that this morning and looking forward to the
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: Cowboys taking on the Ravens from Brazil this is gonna
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: happen Sunday kickoff is 325 how are you feeling about
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: this game I.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Mean I just don't know how to feel about any
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: game I mean of course it's our year Yeah, it is.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: I just don't want to throw anybody off in their
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: patterns by doing these international games.
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: Yeah, it's odd. We're just going to swoop in and
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: practice once, play the game and fly out.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: You know, I just I don't love them. I got
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: to be honest.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: I mean, it's cool that we go to other countries,
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: but I just want to win. And I don't like
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: the idea of a 10 hour flight and breaking a routine.
- 1:02:37Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: They're going to be tired.
- 1:02:38Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:02:39Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: Hopefully they can recover from that. But good luck to
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: the Cowboys. Big day for Taylor Swift today. The life
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: of a showgirl. The encore is out. The album has
- 1:02:48Speaker 5: four new songs, including Patient Zero. We world premiered it
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: earlier this morning. We are going to get the music
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: video for that song Sunday on the MTV VMAs. Do
- 1:02:58Speaker 5: you want to preview any of the other songs?
- 1:02:59Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Why don't we do Pink Cloudy?
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: I kind of like this song.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: Play a clip of it. You should forever intertwine Through
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: the ropes, wood, and.
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: The fire.
- 1:03:15Speaker 7: Good.
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: I mean, it's Taylor.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's going to be good.
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: Yeah, it's kind of what you expect. There is a
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: song on there called Cleveland. It's like an upbeat 80
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: cent song. It's a nod to Travis's hometown. She has
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: a lyric that says he already took me to Cleveland.
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: Hate all you like. This is the love of my life.
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: It's a really cute song. And then Babylon is the
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: fourth track, the fourth new song that we're getting.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Well, good for her.

- 1:04:04Speaker 1: the countdown's getting start stretching Yeah, I'm going to start stretching.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: I'm going to get my shoes on. I'm getting nervous.
- 1:04:09Speaker 7: I know.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: I kind of relate to the cowboys.
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: Oh, yeah? Nervous energy.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: Right, being an athlete myself.
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: Right, yeah.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: Walking to the fair.
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: Of course.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: Who, you're not an athlete? Oh, yeah. We're athletes. This
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: is a feat.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: We're pretty much doing the same thing as they're doing this.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: I'm dead.
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: They're going to fly to Brazil in the same amount
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: of time we.
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: Walk to the fair.
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: The new mix 102.9 i'm gonna be singing.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: Without poo on the corny dog walk about two miles
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: in without poo.
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: Dirty little secret with billy the kid in the morning
- 1:04:44Speaker 5: on mix 102.9 brought.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: To you by mint dentistry he's back four blocks behind
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: me without Without poop.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: Corny Dog Walk kicks off.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: We're like about 30 minutes away. We're leaving the station here,
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: walking to the State Fair of Texas for the first
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: day of the fair.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: We're so excited. I think he's going to do better
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: this year.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: You know what? I forgot to check the poll to
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: see because I put a poll up to see if
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: he would make it all 14 miles.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: And I forgot what people said. I got to look
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: it up.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: Can we get some results over here?
- 1:05:13Speaker 7: It's 14.2.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: What? What are you talking about? It's 14.2.
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: How far you're going to make it.
- 1:05:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: How far you're going to make it. Do you follow me?
- 1:05:20Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:05:21Speaker 9: Wow.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: I do follow you. Okay. All right. Here we go.
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: Let me be the producer of this show. No.
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: I got the results.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: 32% of people said Pooh's going to make it less
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: than five miles.
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: Oh.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: Man, they have no faith.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: 29% of people said five to eight miles.
- 1:05:36Speaker 7: Okay.
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: 18% of people said eight to 12 miles.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: And then 21% of people said he's going to make
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: it all 14 miles.
- 1:05:45Speaker 7: Okay.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: So that's not awful. No, it's not that bad. Yeah,
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: good job. He sounds so depressed. Why do you sound
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: so depressed? Because people don't have no faith in me. Well,
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: last year you made it 8.7. I thought that was
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: really good. The problem is not that you're going to
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: make it. I think you're going to make it. I
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: just worry about the sun being out, the heat, and
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: I worry about you just being a little bit slower
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: than Candace and I. So find us on the walk.
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: He needs to borrow my scooter for a second. He can.
- 1:06:11Speaker 8: No.
- 1:06:12Speaker 10: Why do I feel like the kid on the playground
- 1:06:14Speaker 10: is the last to get picked for kickball?
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: No, I picked you.
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: You got the costume. You got picked.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: I picked you. You are picked. You're in. It's just like,
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: you know, I mean, if I could trade.
- 1:06:24Speaker 7: Oh!
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: But I think I missed the deadline.
- 1:06:27Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: So either way, we're excited. This guy. Find us on
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: the way down to the fair to get your State
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: Fair of Texas tickets. Candace is scooting down there. At
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: least she knows. At least she's like, you know what?
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: I got my corny dog scooter. This is what I'm doing.
- 1:06:40Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: Pooh, he's making it. He's got his water. He's got
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: his Brooks. He's got his Ed Hardy.
- 1:06:45Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: Socks, randomly on. He's got his.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Golden, what's it called? What do you got? I got powder.
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: He's got powder.
- 1:06:54Speaker 7: Gold bond.
- 1:06:55Speaker 9: Gold bond.
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: Powdered up.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: He's got his icy hot.
- 1:06:58Speaker 10: Thanks to the aesthetic of society.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you.
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: It's got vitamins in it.
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: All right. Well, dirty little secret, 833-787-1029. Tell us your secret. Confess.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: And you got one. So what is going on?
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: Sorry. I haven't told anyone this. um not my friends
- 1:07:17Speaker 6: not my family definitely not my dad um okay but
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: um dating one of my dad's friends.
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: What you're dating one of your dad's friends.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: Yeah oh okay you're dating one of your dad's friends
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: one of your.
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: Dad's friends yeah how does that work Honestly, I.
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: Don't even know yet. I mean, the age difference isn't
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: even the part that freaks me out. It's like who
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: he is, this guy I've known my entire life. He's
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: part of my family at cookouts, family parties, birthday parties, holidays.
- 1:07:52Speaker 6: I mean, there are pictures of this guy holding me
- 1:07:54Speaker 6: when I'm like a baby.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: Oh! Yeah.
- 1:07:58Speaker 7: Oh.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Okay, I shouldn't say ooh. I don't know.
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: So how did it start, though? How did it even
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: take place to where this is a thing?
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: Well, okay, so, like, about a month ago, I randomly
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: bumped into him at this neighborhood restaurant. And we started talking,
- 1:08:19Speaker 6: which is, like, normal. He's, like, been in my life.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: Like, why wouldn't I talk to him?
- 1:08:22Speaker 6: And I had a drink and caught up. And it
- 1:08:25Speaker 6: was actually really fun. And we had, like, a really
- 1:08:27Speaker 6: nice time. And a couple of days later, he reached
- 1:08:30Speaker 6: out to me on Facebook. And at first, it felt
- 1:08:34Speaker 6: totally innocent. And it was like joking around and talking.
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: About that night.
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: And then he invited me out on his boat.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: Oh, the boat. That's how he got you. The boat.
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: You went, I guess.
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: Yeah, things hit different when you float, when you're floating.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: When you're on the boat, things are different.
- 1:08:53Speaker 6: Okay. So, I mean, we had an amazing time. Nothing
- 1:08:58Speaker 6: happened yet, but there was like a hard vibe. Like,
- 1:09:01Speaker 6: there's just something there. And then the following weekend, he
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: invited me over to his house for drinks, and that's
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: when things changed. We kissed, and then one thing led
- 1:09:12Speaker 6: to another, and now here we are.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: With your dead friend?
- 1:09:17Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: So, okay. How long has this been going.
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: On, though?
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: Like, secretly for about a month.
- 1:09:28Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: What happens, though? I mean, I always ask these questions
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: when I feel like it's a weird relationship. Like, where
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: does it go? Right. You know what I mean? What's
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: going to happen?
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: Because you don't think your dad would approve, do you?
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: Come on.
- 1:09:41Speaker 6: No, I don't even know if it could. I don't
- 1:09:43Speaker 6: think it could eventually even go anywhere. Like, but somebody's
- 1:09:46Speaker 6: going to find out. And I don't even want to
- 1:09:49Speaker 6: imagine my dad's face. Like, he realizes his best friend. Like,
- 1:09:52Speaker 6: what is it going to do to their relationship?
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: Like.
- 1:09:55Speaker 6: But like when i'm with him it's good it's like
- 1:09:59Speaker 6: really good and then when i'm not with him i'm
- 1:10:02Speaker 6: like spiraling because i'm.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: Thinking about it can you imagine candace if you were
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: dating one of your dad's.
- 1:10:06Speaker 8: Friends no just throwing it out there no so.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: Have you ever do you date typically older men No.
- 1:10:17Speaker 6: This is the first time. I've never dated my dad's friend.
- 1:10:20Speaker 6: I've never dated an older guy. I mean, but this
- 1:10:23Speaker 6: is where I've ended up. I just literally don't know
- 1:10:26Speaker 6: what to do.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Well, I don't know what to do either.
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: I just couldn't date someone my dad didn't approve of.
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: It would just make the relationship complicated, too complicated.
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: You would be on Facebook. You would be listed. It's complicated.
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Do they still do that?
- 1:10:40Speaker 5: I mean, I can't imagine not having like that person
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: come around my family or it'd be awkward. You know
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: what I mean?
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: The question is, could you ever even tell your dad
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: if this started to get real? I mean, obviously you're
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: going to have to tell him eventually. Then there's no
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: way I know as a man, there's no way your
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: dad's going to be friends with this guy anymore. Because
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: you're dating my daughter.
- 1:10:59Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: There's no way.
- 1:11:00Speaker 9: You think?
- 1:11:01Speaker 6: No, absolutely no way.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: No, there's no way.
- 1:11:04Speaker 5: Is it worth all that?
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: If the connection's there, I don't know.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: You don't want to.
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: Well, like upsetting your dad and then ruining their friendship.
- 1:11:11Speaker 6: I mean, I don't want to ruin his friendship. I
- 1:11:13Speaker 6: don't even really understand what happened. Like, this just happened.
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: I feel like.
- 1:11:18Speaker 6: But when we're together, it's so good. But I know
- 1:11:20Speaker 6: there's something super wrong. So, like, I just.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:11:23Speaker 6: It's giving me a lot of anxiety.
- 1:11:24Speaker 5: He's going to be blindsided.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: It's giving me anxiety.
- 1:11:27Speaker 5: Me too.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: They say you can't help who you love, though. Yo,
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: you can help. You can help. What if, like, Poo,
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: you don't have a daughter, I don't have a daughter,
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: none of us have daughters. No. I can't even imagine
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: if that was, like, my daughter was dating someone. Excuse me?
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: Your friendship?
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: No. No, I would not. Your friend Ray?
- 1:11:50Speaker 9: No.
- 1:11:51Speaker 7: Who?
- 1:11:51Speaker 6: No.
- 1:11:52Speaker 7: No.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: No, I would disown. You know I wouldn't do that.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: I would disown her and disown him.
- 1:11:57Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: Everyone's getting disowned.
- 1:12:00Speaker 9: I am.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: No, I can't. Well, can you please let us know
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: what happens? Good luck. I don't know what to say.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: I mean, you know, listen, you're not going to stop.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: This is one of those things that just it's weird
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: to other people.
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: But you're both adults. You have to figure out what
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: you're comfortable with.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: So good luck and let us know what happens.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: OK.
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: OK.
- 1:12:18Speaker 9: OK.
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: New Taylor Swift right there. It's Mix 102.9. Ability Kid,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: Candice Lopenz, Producer Poo. Are we ready?
- 1:12:25Speaker 7: Yeah. Yes, we are.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: For the second annual Corny Dog Walk as we walk
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: to the State Fair of Texas.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: I don't know if my feet are ready, but I'm
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: mentally ready.
- 1:12:36Speaker 5: Okay, good.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Candace, are you ready?
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: Yeah, oh yeah, I'm ready.
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: Poo, that's not church music. I know, I'm trying to
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: hype myself up. I need Jesus to help me. I need,
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: you know, Jesus take the wheel, Jesus take my feet. Please,
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: he does need help.
- 1:12:52Speaker 5: We'll see what happens.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: We're about to kick it off. We're walking to the
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: State Fair of Texas. First day of the fair. Find
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: us on the way for these tickets. until we run out.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: And I say that because last year a lot of
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: people showed up and found us on the route.
- 1:13:04Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: I mean, usually I'll be honest. I don't even know
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: the way we're going to go. Right. I mean, you
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: see two corny dogs walking on the street. You're like,
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: what's going on? People honking, swerving, crashing. We caused two
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: crashes last year.
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: I know.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: Like fender benders. Yeah.
- 1:13:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: On Preston. Yeah, on Preston.
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: Preston's a safe bet. People are asking me for the route.
- 1:13:22Speaker 5: I'm like, I don't know, but Preston is a safe bet.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: I'll tell you what we did last year. Remember last
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: year we walked right down here, this back road on Alpha. Midway? No, Inwood.
- 1:13:30Speaker 5: That's a long way, by the way.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: We went over the bridge. No, not really.
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: You crossed over 635.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: No, we didn't.
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: On Inwood.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: No, we didn't. Were you on the walk, too? Crossed
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: over 635. No, we didn't. Yes, we did.
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: I followed you in my car.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: We crossed over first and went to a pumpkin patch. Yes,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: that's on Forest.
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: Inwood to Forest.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: We took a left on Forest. Pooh, I told you
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: we crossed over 635.
- 1:13:56Speaker 9: I see this guy.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: Right, on Inwood.
- 1:13:58Speaker 7: On Inwood.
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: And then we took a left on Forest and stopped
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: at Punga Pad.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: Candace, you can't argue with me because I know where
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: all the food is. That's Chick-fil-A. Candace, you're right.
- 1:14:05Speaker 10: We went toward the Sonic and Chick-fil-A.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: We walked past. We took a left. in the fancy
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: neighborhoods yes jesuit the jesuit yeah yeah then we crossed
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: over to unroyal no we would preston we took a
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: left from forest and then got on that's what i
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: said forest to preston then we take preston all the
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: way down yes yes to some other road and cross
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: 75 we took a left on fits you That's exactly
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: what I was going to say. Either way, we're getting
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: ready to leave. Oh, we got to go on TV.
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:14:38Speaker 5: Oh, that's right.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: We're going on the 10 with Steve Noviello and Paige.
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: And it's Paige's birthday.
- 1:14:42Speaker 5: It is.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: They're broadcasting live from the fair. So, yeah, they're broadcasting
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: live from the fair. So we're going to try to
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: meet them down there if we get there before midnight.
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: I think they're only there until 11. Well, last year.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: Either way, check us out on Fox 4 here in
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: a minute. But either way, last year I made it
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: all the way, which I was proud of myself for
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: making it.
- 1:15:02Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: Pooh made it halfway. 8.9. 8.9 miles. 8.7. And the.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: 2 matters. Okay.
- 1:15:10Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: You made it 8.7.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: Every step counts. Well, every time he tells a story,
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: it gets longer.
- 1:15:17Speaker 5: You're right.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: You're right.
- 1:15:18Speaker 9: You're right.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: So either way, Pooh's going to make it this time.
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: I just don't know. I don't think we're going to
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: make it at the same time. Just remember Candace coming
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: up to me going, It's okay. And Billy was gone.
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: Seven streets away.
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: In a different zip code.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: It's like walking with a toddler and I'm like.
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: I got to go.
- 1:15:39Speaker 7: Yeah, I know.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: I want to get there before 8 o'clock at night.
- 1:15:41Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: And Pooh's like. And Billy's like, move. Get out the way.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: I'm like, Pooh, you got to catch up.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: And he's like, I'm trying, but my feet ain't cooperating. No.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: One foot is in Highland Park. The other foot's in
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: South Dallas. His feet don't even face the same direction.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: Is there a Jiffy Lube on the way?
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: Yeah, there is.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: Maybe we could stop for an alignment. Well, we'll finish
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: this walk. Hopefully we get to meet you on the walk,
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: hook you up with fare tickets. What else you got
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: going on this weekend, Candice?
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: I just got invited to the Hello Shrine Classic at
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: Hunt County Raceway in Greenville. They're doing a big race
- 1:16:17Speaker 5: that's benefiting the transportation fund for the Shriners Children's Hospital.
- 1:16:21Speaker 5: That's awesome.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: That is a good cause.
- 1:16:22Speaker 5: It's a big event supporting an amazing cause. Love those guys.
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: So shout out to Ricky. Cool. And yeah, it's going
- 1:16:28Speaker 5: to be a good event tomorrow.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: Well, what up to Ricky? Well, that'll be a great event.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: I mean, listen, I think I'm going to chill the
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: rest of the weekend because I'm going to be tired.
- 1:16:36Speaker 5: Rest your feet.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: I'm going to get a pedicure tomorrow. I know that.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: These dogs are going to be barking. Pedicure? Yes, I
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: need mine. There is not a person on this planet
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: that wants to touch those feet after a 15-mile walk
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: in a corny dog suit. And nobody wants to touch
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: those ashy feet. Crusty burnt Vienna sausage feet. That is
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: nobody's touching those.
- 1:17:03Speaker 7: They are.
- 1:17:04Speaker 5: You need a foot massage.
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: I need a foot massage.
- 1:17:06Speaker 5: More than a pedicure. You probably just need a foot massage.
- 1:17:09Speaker 5: All of us.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: I'm getting that wax treatment. Everything, bro.
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: You get your feet waxed?
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: Yes. No, you know how they put the wax on
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: and it's a little sad.
- 1:17:16Speaker 5: Oh, the paraffin wax.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: There we go. Yeah, that.
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: That's a good call.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: Well, let me know who does it because I want
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: to send him a gift card.
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: My condolences. Maybe some flowers. We'll see you. All right,
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: we're about to kick off the walk. Second annual Corny
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: Dog Walk. We will see you on the streets of Dallas.
