- 0:28SPEAKER_01: I'm a real estate agent in the Metro West Boston area.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: I moved to Massachusetts not long ago.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: I switched careers.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: I'm a mom and I'm an immigrant who built a new life from scratch.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: I also run around way too much.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: Girl Scouts, cool livings, community stuff.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: And I'm Shayda, the corporate one.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm also building a business on the side.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Um, so my days are basically two jobs back to back.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm single, I live in a big city in Texas, and I'm trying to find my husband.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: I'd be like, I get in the bed, I could get cozy up, and I literally tell my brain like shut up and sleep now.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: Go your child has school tomorrow.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: She will she is your alarm clock at 6 15 every day.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Go to sleep.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: So mine is around dating as a single woman who is in her 30s, and everyone around me, every time they see me, they ask me, When are you getting married?
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: When are you finding a husband?
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Like, as if a husband's gonna be just readily available.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: So on paper, our lives look pretty different, very different.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: Any man who cannot handle an independent woman is not ready for a comedy.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: Write it down, ladies.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, write it down and let's reread that every time we're every time then grab your favorite beverage and then dump it.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Here's what's coming.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: We will talk about finding friendship as an adult, which is harder than anyone else tells you.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: We'll talk about money, we'll talk about most interesting aspect of Shayda's life, which is dating.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: We will also talk about things that we used to enjoy when we were in our 20s, but we don't enjoy now as much in our 30s.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: For me, it's about building my business, my little baked by Shayda business on the side, and still being a corporate girly.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: So there's times where I talk about it to people and I just kind of downplay the baking.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: I'm always like, oh, it's not that great.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: I left a whole, like, well-established corporate path to become a real estate agent to sell houses, and then there is this voice in the back of my head.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: Every time before I meet a buyer or a seller, and it just constantly keeps going.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: Like, who told you that you're allowed to do this?
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: But every time we get on a call, we end up saying the same thing.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: Wait, you feel the same way too?
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Definitely at ourselves.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: It makes me doubt, like, did I read the red flags of like an ex?
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: Should I have not made that a big deal?
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: And she goes, I want to go with them.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: I was like, no.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: And then she goes, mommy, you're not supposed to say no to me.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: And I was like, girl, first of all, you're seven.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: You're still not even in double digits.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: You can talk to me that way when you're in double digits.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm sure if the marker was wet and it was my child's marker, I would be like, it's my child.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: It was some random child's marker.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: This is like expanity guy.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: I was like, first of all, why the heck is the exponenti guy calling me?
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: That's not my job.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then he goes, We have some, you know, new upgrades, would you like to hear about it?
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: And then he goes, How much are you paying for your expanity?
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: And I was like, I don't know.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: See, that part is the privilege that married people do not understand.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: If something to say sounds like your life, send it to a friend.
