0:46
[SPEAKER_06]: That was the preseason for us.
0:47
[SPEAKER_06]: Birds real fish tag live presented by Van Horn Law Group and Casabelle design group.
0:52

[SPEAKER_11]: Nice T's right.
1:09
[SPEAKER_11]: There was a big set.
1:10
[SPEAKER_11]: How a popular game week, man.
1:12
[SPEAKER_11]: Is game play.
1:13
[SPEAKER_11]: Is this your game face?
1:14
[SPEAKER_11]: Game week.
1:15
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, man.
1:15
[SPEAKER_11]: It's time, no.
1:16
[SPEAKER_11]: There's no nonsense right now, man.
1:18
[SPEAKER_11]: No joking around, man.
1:19
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, you're not going to hear any jokes for me.
1:21
[SPEAKER_11]: Well, yeah, you go.
1:22
[SPEAKER_11]: So I think I'm a comic man, but I am pop, man.

1:31
[SPEAKER_11]: It's going to be fun.
1:32
[SPEAKER_06]: It's going to be a lot of fun, and having fun with us, of course, as always, it is the legendary Savakas in the house in the paddock, there he is, he helps absolutely Savakas in the house.
1:44
[SPEAKER_06]: Sun Sentinel columnists, and the host of the Dolphins deep dive with Perk podcast.
1:50
[SPEAKER_06]: These Perk, Chris Perkins joins us again.
1:53
[SPEAKER_06]: And diving in from Dolphins talk, well, I guess we're all diving in in Dolphins talk because we're here on the YouTube channel.
1:59
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
2:20
[SPEAKER_06]: But I really money, it's no more than I was trying to get up checks.
2:22
[SPEAKER_06]: Now you're getting those regular season checks.
2:24
[SPEAKER_11]: You know what, you know what happens though, big sets.
2:26
[SPEAKER_11]: Like the lady's getting the month when you start running out of, you know, the bikes you got.
2:31
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, so early you, they slow you down later in the months.
2:35
[SPEAKER_11]: You know, so we're at run, what September 9th.
2:38
[SPEAKER_11]: So he's, he's pressing to his minutes.
2:40
[SPEAKER_11]: And it's, you know, it's just giga bikes and he's used enough.
2:43
[SPEAKER_11]: It's time to get some, he's a giga, he's a giga, he's a giga, he's a giga, right now.
2:47
[SPEAKER_06]: Talk till after the 15th, it might be a different situation.
2:51
[SPEAKER_06]: Thank you.
2:52
[SPEAKER_12]: Week week, the Kansas City game is going to be rough, fellas.
2:58
[SPEAKER_06]: That's really good.
2:59
[SPEAKER_06]: That's pretty good.
3:00
[SPEAKER_05]: We three have all better off.
3:01
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, we are expecting a special guest here in a few minutes, but before we get to him and before we get to the conversation that we want to have and discuss our big project juice, we do have a game coming up here that we need to talk about.
3:17
[SPEAKER_06]: There's so many things that I think even just in week one.
3:21
[SPEAKER_06]: But the first thing that jumped out that I think caught people's attention was the death chart, right?
3:29
[SPEAKER_06]: It's a debt chart against 11 personnel, right?
3:31
[SPEAKER_06]: That's what we did learn today from Hathley, which I thought was enlightening.
3:34
[SPEAKER_06]: I, first of all, if you ever heard a coach come up and tell you that normally they're like, don't put in, you know, I just did this because I had to or everybody's a star, you know, they make up some nonsense or we saw Jim Harbawl.
3:45
[SPEAKER_06]: In 19 years of being a head coach and he loses his mind because somebody asked him who was gonna play as if he's never been asked that question before.
3:52
[SPEAKER_06]: talk about a guy who's on edge but I've never seen a guy say yeah this is our starting line up against this personnel group have you ever heard that before?
4:00
[SPEAKER_12]: I have it.
4:01
[SPEAKER_12]: I have it.
4:02
[SPEAKER_12]: I love this process as we get to know half and you fire questions at them and you see how he responds and see a tie to ask.
4:09
[SPEAKER_12]: It's a pretty chill.
4:11
[SPEAKER_12]: You know, so this is all that feeling out getting to know you process and you know, we were talking before the show how half is good at, you know, answering questions.
4:21
[SPEAKER_12]: I would say I'm the drinking game during the press conference should be good question.
4:25
[SPEAKER_12]: Because yeah, good question all the time.
4:28
[SPEAKER_12]: So you take your shot or shot a shot of a capping or let's say or whatever you need to take, but it should be of my every drinking game and a question.
4:38
[SPEAKER_06]: Who would be, if it was a drinking game, who would be hitting at the hardest in that press room?
4:42
[SPEAKER_06]: That's what I want to know.
4:43
[SPEAKER_12]: Oh boy, you know how they say if you don't know who the drunk alcohol is and your family is probably you It's a good line.
4:53
[SPEAKER_06]: I like that But but we did see that death chart and there were 12 names listed on offense and I think that was probably what caught the attention of most people
5:04
[SPEAKER_06]: And it was Christmas, right?
5:05
[SPEAKER_06]: Why receiver Christmas?
5:06
[SPEAKER_06]: The player that that kind of fell to Miami because of his injury, a lot of people thought he could be a first round talent if he hadn't torn his ACL.
5:15
[SPEAKER_06]: I think it's what the injury was in college.
5:16
[SPEAKER_06]: I had a Louisville there and you know, you see him on the bike and camp and then you see him running a little bit and camp and fans are getting excited.
5:24
[SPEAKER_06]: And I got a case of the perks is my camera not working well.
5:28
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm sorry, Andrew.
5:33
[SPEAKER_06]: Andrew, I had a crazy gun when I was at your house.
5:36
[SPEAKER_06]: And all of the sudden, he gets a few reps in and practice.
5:38
[SPEAKER_06]: And now he's starter number 12, you know, he's wide receiver three.
5:43
[SPEAKER_06]: That had to catch everybody's attention.
5:45
[SPEAKER_06]: And Mike, are you crazy?
5:46
[SPEAKER_06]: Juice?
5:47
[SPEAKER_11]: No, yeah.
5:48
[SPEAKER_11]: No doubt about it, man, you know, from really not being able to participate at all.
5:52
[SPEAKER_11]: are very little, you know, and they're getting a red jersey and they're getting opportunity in the last preseason game.
5:58
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, I'm I'm shocked to see that he's going to be listed as a starting receiver.
6:03
[SPEAKER_11]: But same time, no, you know, you also have to be upset that, you know,
6:09
[SPEAKER_11]: a two-two didn't work out, you know, to overtake that position over what you got a young guy that in a little, a very little time has been able to come out there and show what he can do.
6:21
[SPEAKER_11]: And like Haft said, these guys have earned this position.
6:23
[SPEAKER_11]: They earned the starting position.
6:25
[SPEAKER_11]: You know, and, you know, my receivers, of course, are going to be rotated in and out.
6:29
[SPEAKER_11]: There's going to be a lot of ridershipers out there on the football field.
6:32
[SPEAKER_11]: You have to, you can't row with just a few of them.
6:34
[SPEAKER_11]: But to have that, you know, when you look at that depth chart, you see your left, wide receiver, whatever it might be.
6:43
[SPEAKER_11]: Right away, you're the first one.
6:44
[SPEAKER_11]: That's pretty cool right there, man.
6:46
[SPEAKER_11]: So it's very shocking, very surprising.
6:49
[SPEAKER_11]: And I saw a lot from Chris Bell.
6:52
[SPEAKER_11]: I saw a lot from him when he was in practice that game really had me excited about what he can do.
6:58
[SPEAKER_11]: I can't wait to see him get out there and get some opportunities that real football is gonna be about and see how he excels there.
7:07
[SPEAKER_11]: So yeah, that was very, very shocking.
7:10
[SPEAKER_11]: Caleb Douglas also shocked, we know he was gonna be a starter.
7:13
[SPEAKER_11]: He's been a starter since preseason started.
7:16
[SPEAKER_11]: Um, but to have you all these guys, these young guys out there, let's get them out there and see what the heck they can do.
7:22
[SPEAKER_11]: And I'm I'm I'm pumped.
7:24
[SPEAKER_11]: I really have, man.
7:25
[SPEAKER_11]: And I want to see what I want to see from these dudes more than anything big set.
7:30
[SPEAKER_11]: I want to see how well they block.
7:32
[SPEAKER_11]: I want to see how well they go out there and try to hit somebody in the mouth because when a chain, you know, this is, this is a new OJ big set.
7:40
[SPEAKER_11]: I see, I see you're looking for a flat.
7:42
[SPEAKER_06]: I want you to finish.
7:43
[SPEAKER_11]: I'm looking for a flat right there.
7:45
[SPEAKER_11]: That's a big word like man.
7:46
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, no, real quick.
7:47
[SPEAKER_05]: We got a special guest joining us.
7:50
[SPEAKER_12]: Okay, there they are.
7:53
[SPEAKER_12]: There you are.
7:55
[SPEAKER_12]: Sorry to show.
7:56
[SPEAKER_12]: What's up guys?
7:57
[SPEAKER_12]: What's up guys?
7:58
[SPEAKER_11]: This guy right here wouldn't throw the rookie receivers though.
8:01
[SPEAKER_11]: I don't think he, you know, he tried to get there though.
8:04
[SPEAKER_06]: So that's what we're talking about.
8:06
[SPEAKER_06]: So we want to do there's a lot to talk about, Jay.
8:08
[SPEAKER_06]: And you certainly know why we are very excited to have you here.
8:11
[SPEAKER_06]: But we are talking about a Dolphins Raiders game.
8:13
[SPEAKER_06]: Just not the one played 25 years ago.
8:16
[SPEAKER_06]: And what we're discussing is the Dolphins have
8:19
[SPEAKER_06]: two of their three starting wide receivers listed on the depth chart that just came out are rookies one of whom got like three practices in because we thought that he was not going to be eligible to play until the middle of the season at Chris Bell.
8:31
[SPEAKER_06]: So juice was just saying the thing that he's looking forward to the most is seeing how they block.
8:37
[SPEAKER_06]: And I, and then you popped on, I need to hear more because I just did not expect that.
8:43
[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
8:44
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, look, you know, I think juices right on with it.
8:47
[SPEAKER_08]: You got some rookie receivers on the outside.
8:49
[SPEAKER_08]: They're going to be really strong focus on the run game.
8:53
[SPEAKER_08]: So, you know, those guys got to come up, you know, they got to help those run it back out down the field.
9:00
[SPEAKER_08]: Obviously, you know, we'll see, you know,
9:05
[SPEAKER_08]: you know, if they decide to air it out, if they need to air it out, you know, who knows how the game is going to go.
9:12
[SPEAKER_08]: But, you know, certainly, you know, having two rookie, rookie receivers out there, you know, doesn't give a whole lot of confidence for a quarterback.
9:21
[SPEAKER_08]: But, you know what, they've been, they've been working together for a little bit and, you know, hopefully built enough trust to go on to this game, you know, with something earned.
9:33
[SPEAKER_11]: And Jay, Coach Hathley already said, no block, no rock, you know what I mean?
9:37
[SPEAKER_11]: So if you've already told him, you're not blocking, you're not getting the rock.
9:41
[SPEAKER_11]: So that's already out there, man.
9:43
[SPEAKER_11]: I think that's going to be the first test.
9:44
[SPEAKER_11]: You know, are you going to go out there and you will in the block and do your job.
9:48
[SPEAKER_11]: And then you'll get an opportunity to make some chances.
9:50
[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, hey, I love that idea.
9:52
[SPEAKER_11]: Now I wouldn't love it if I was one of why I received that.
9:55
[SPEAKER_11]: I'll talk about what I love for this football in 2026.
9:59
[SPEAKER_08]: You were, you're in a phrase that makes it up.
10:01
[SPEAKER_08]: Don't be full of anyone there, would you?
10:04
[SPEAKER_06]: You know that.
10:05
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, you had Chris Chambers as a rookie, right?
10:08
[SPEAKER_08]: Sure, dad.
10:08
[SPEAKER_06]: And you certainly weren't afraid to throw to him.
10:11
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, when you got a guy like that, it's pretty easy.
10:16
[SPEAKER_06]: I think he averaged like 18 something yards a catch in his rookie year.
10:19
[SPEAKER_08]: So yeah, and look out there my first my first career completion was to a rookie wide receiver named Randy Moss.
10:28
[SPEAKER_08]: That was the same.
10:31
[SPEAKER_08]: He did okay.
10:32
[SPEAKER_06]: How did he turn out?
10:33
[SPEAKER_06]: It's a way to J. Beehler just announced on the fish tank that he made Randy Moss.
10:46
[SPEAKER_06]: There and up, there and up.
10:47
[SPEAKER_06]: So, well, we'll get back to these current dolphins, but we're very excited that you're here.
10:52
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm loving the chat, the chat's blowing up, and everybody's reminding the world that the last quarterback to lead this team to a victory in the playoffs.
11:00
[SPEAKER_06]: Certainly, how crazy is that, by the way?
11:03
[SPEAKER_06]: The last time the Dolphins were about the game.
11:06
[SPEAKER_06]: This guy was the quarterback.
11:08
[SPEAKER_06]: This guy was his wide receiver one.
11:10
[SPEAKER_06]: I was a PR guy on that team.
11:13
[SPEAKER_06]: Perk was on the beat for the first time, damn it.
11:15
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, like, what in the hell was happening?
11:18
[SPEAKER_08]: And there's a lot of gray hair in those four boxes.
11:21
[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, my God.
11:21
[SPEAKER_08]: You see him?
11:22
[SPEAKER_11]: At least you still have hair, Jen.
11:24
[SPEAKER_11]: Let me say that.
11:25
[SPEAKER_11]: I was just saying, like, they're collected.
11:27
[SPEAKER_11]: We, it's all right.
11:29
[SPEAKER_06]: But we are, the dolphins are playing the Raiders, and so this is just, it's crazy how the stars align.
11:37
[SPEAKER_06]: This is the 25th anniversary of the tragic terrorist attacks on this country.
11:45
[SPEAKER_06]: The deadliest attacks on U.S. soil in the history of this great nation.
11:50
[SPEAKER_06]: and it is wild to think that it's been 25 years and so on two days we are dropping an audio documentary entitled Fish Tank iconic The Game We Needed.
12:03
[SPEAKER_06]: You probably haven't even heard that title yet, Jay.
12:04
[SPEAKER_06]: It's the game we needed.
12:06
[SPEAKER_06]: Now I interviewed Jay for this two years ago.
12:09
[SPEAKER_06]: So, even waiting on this thing for two years, that's a lot of work on it.
12:12
[SPEAKER_06]: But we're really excited to roll this thing out.
12:16
[SPEAKER_06]: Jason, I just feel it's such an important story.
12:18
[SPEAKER_06]: Not only for what it means, just remembering those who are lost, the significance of that day and how the country responded.
12:27
[SPEAKER_06]: but through a Dolphins lens, I was a pretty big day.
12:30
[SPEAKER_06]: It was a pretty big day for us and it was our team and you that was kind of chosen as the face of the nation bouncing back through the world of sport.
12:42
[SPEAKER_06]: talk a little bit about what you know I don't want to ruin too much from the podcast but just what you remember from that day looking back now 25 years ago and then we actually are going to play a clip if it's okay with everybody there's going to be a few minutes but we just want to give people a taste of what they're going to get when they listen to the podcast yes sure set the you know certainly remember in back to that day 25 years ago you know the one thing I remember vaguely not vaguely you know really strongly was
13:12
[SPEAKER_08]: because if it wasn't our off day, it would have been in meetings and in the film room, looking at things, I don't know if we'd have seen it for a little bit, but I kind of was getting up and breakfast and the house and turn the TV on and every station was showing the towers on fire.
13:37
[SPEAKER_08]: Didn't know what was going on, didn't know what had happened.
13:41
[SPEAKER_08]: You know, my first thought was, you know, one of my closest friends from, from college worked at Canterford's Gerald, who was up on the 100th first floor, I've actually been to his office before, you know, seeing that been up there, fortunately he was working in an overnight desk and left that building, you know, beforehand, but
14:08
[SPEAKER_08]: You know, he also lost hundreds of his workmates and friends and, you know, people he was very close with.
14:15
[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, certainly there were other people that I was, you know, familiar with and new that were firefighters that, you know, worked in the trade center that did lose their lives or were affected with family that lost their lives.
14:30
[SPEAKER_08]: So,
14:31
[SPEAKER_08]: you know, certainly just, you know, such a tragic day back then and, you know, being a New Yorker, seeing what happened in New York and then, you know, being an American and seeing what happened, you know, across the whole, the whole nation, you know, was something that, you know, we knew when we kind of came together as a team that this was going to be a hard thing to, you know,
14:59
[SPEAKER_08]: come back from overcome, you know, I think the commissioner made the right call and
15:06
[SPEAKER_08]: delaying the season for a week, and letting people heal for a little bit, and then letting people heal with sports, and that was what that comeback game kind of delivered to the people around America, whether it was baseball fans and what baseball was doing at the time, certainly
15:37
[SPEAKER_08]: W going out and throwing the first pitch a Yankee stadium and or whether it was football and you know us coming back and play in those games That day two weeks later to you know really give a sense of normalcy back to the people of the United States
15:55
[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.
15:56
[SPEAKER_06]: And that's exactly what happened.
15:58
[SPEAKER_06]: But in the context of that game, Jay, if that game had been played today instead of 25 years ago, we may not have been able to see that fantastic finish.
16:08
[SPEAKER_06]: And Savak, can we roll that?
16:10
[SPEAKER_06]: I want to want to listen this because there is a little story within the story.
16:13
[SPEAKER_06]: You've got it, Mike.
16:14
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, we can roll that.
16:16
[SPEAKER_06]: And Jay, you have this will be the first time you've heard this as well.
16:18
[SPEAKER_06]: But this is just a little taste of what you're going to get when you listen to this fish tank iconic documentary.
16:22
[SPEAKER_04]: But you know, funny is that you may say that and we're back up now and we're down and there's two and a half minutes to go whatever it is, two little over two minutes.
16:33
[SPEAKER_04]: We got two timelines left, they got one.
16:35
[SPEAKER_02]: Second down, 10 to go, five wives again.
16:38
[SPEAKER_02]: Dolphins got it going here 306 left to the game 15 10 right early out of a shot god Feetler steps up and Jay will run.
16:46
[SPEAKER_04]: I remember to think and Jay gets hit.
16:48
[SPEAKER_09]: Well, I knew he was gonna run play I broke down my son running so you obviously trying to get a block mixture your man don't get in But me being the closest guy to him.
16:58
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I saw those guys really rock his world Slides down and took big hits from William Thomas and Anthony Georgetown
17:08
[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
17:09
[SPEAKER_02]: He was trying to go feet first and they just unloaded on him.
17:12
[SPEAKER_01]: We were all yelling from the sideline because it looked like my hit to the head and a late hit.
17:17
[SPEAKER_01]: And no flag came out.
17:18
[SPEAKER_07]: Everyone always told me to slide.
17:20
[SPEAKER_07]: I was a guy who fight for extra yardage and it took me a lot to break into the league.
17:26
[SPEAKER_07]: So every chance I had to make something happen, I was trying to do that and I know the coach has always asked me to slide.
17:33
[SPEAKER_07]: He got a slide and got to protect himself.
17:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Try to start getting down.
17:39
[SPEAKER_07]: it got trill he was a tough guy he never shy away from contact he always fought for extra yardage and you know sometimes obviously that didn't serve him the best because he got beat up from doing that and then you know I go and I try to slide I try to protect myself and you know two guys come and try and knock my head off as I'm sliding and I can't protect myself when I'm back like this you know obviously you got
18:05
[SPEAKER_09]: hit on the chin, my head goes into the, into the turf and when I looked down at my quarterback, he wasn't there.
18:12
[SPEAKER_09]: You know, he had this A's over his eyes.
18:14
[SPEAKER_09]: He was looking, looking up into the sky, and I knew he didn't recognize me.
18:19
[SPEAKER_09]: But he knew he was still in the game or whatever, so he got up.
18:22
[SPEAKER_07]: And like any shot that, you know, any big shot that I would get through on my career, you always want to make sure that the defense, you know, knows that it didn't affect you.
18:32
[SPEAKER_07]: So my first instinct is to get right up.
18:35
[SPEAKER_07]: Take the shot, you get right up, and tell them that you hit me as hard as you can, and I'm still getting back up.
18:41
[SPEAKER_07]: And as I got up, I kind of went this way a little bit.
18:45
[SPEAKER_09]: He bubbled, I caught him, I'm thinking on him.
18:47
[SPEAKER_07]: And I remember James McNate being right there and kind of steadying me, holding me up.
18:54
[SPEAKER_09]: And I'm weaving to the side line, and like, hey, come get this guy, come get this guy.
18:57
[SPEAKER_03]: It is, pushy right now.
19:00
[SPEAKER_03]: somebody on the side to say get him out of there and he's trying to fight this day in the game.
19:06
[SPEAKER_09]: He's called the sidelines.
19:08
[SPEAKER_07]: Come on up, come on up as soon as I kind of saw him call the sidelines.
19:14
[SPEAKER_07]: Come out here.
19:15
[SPEAKER_07]: That's when I kind of just shook it back and got myself back into frame of mind.
19:21
[SPEAKER_07]: And let's all the love, let's get to the next play.
19:24
[SPEAKER_07]: And in my head, I'm back in James.
19:26
[SPEAKER_07]: I don't have a telling him to take me out of everything.
19:29
[SPEAKER_07]: It took me what it took me to get into the NFL and get a job.
19:35
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm not coming out and letting someone else take my job away from me.
19:38
[SPEAKER_03]: Are they sending Ray Lucas here?
19:40
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Ray Lucas.
19:42
[SPEAKER_03]: Jay is going to try to call this.
19:44
[SPEAKER_07]: I know I could go out and win this game, so let's get back to the hotel, let's make it happen.
19:49
[SPEAKER_09]: I thought that was it.
19:50
[SPEAKER_09]: I thought he was going to have a confession, you know, he's out of the game, but we got to finish the game with I think Ray Lucas at the time.
19:55
[SPEAKER_07]: That was got to my mind, right?
19:57
[SPEAKER_07]: That was my mindset coming off of that hit, getting out and regrouped myself.
20:03
[SPEAKER_09]: In today's time, he would have never been back on the field.
20:07
[SPEAKER_07]: I know today, they would have taken me off the field.
20:11
[SPEAKER_07]: I wouldn't have that chance to go out and do it at the end of the game.
20:16
[SPEAKER_07]: And rightfully so, certainly, at that point with the knowledge of lack of knowledge of concussions at that point, I was able to stay in, shake it off and get back out there and finish the game.
20:33
[SPEAKER_09]: went right back to the hut on that was just the fight the spirit of jay he wasn't there was no way he was coming all the way and that plane was kind of like okay man you hit me in the mouth and I'm gonna come back and try to get you guys in the mouth that's the guy he is so there you go just just one little story within the whole one of the two of my discons I remember
20:55
[SPEAKER_06]: Dave, Dave, Dave's got to talk about it.
20:57
[SPEAKER_06]: Dave, stop talking about it.
20:59
[SPEAKER_11]: Lil' one, yeah.
21:01
[SPEAKER_11]: I'm gonna tell you what, Jay, man.
21:03
[SPEAKER_11]: You, you, you, one tough SOB, man.
21:07
[SPEAKER_11]: Real talk, man.
21:09
[SPEAKER_11]: Love playing with you, man.
21:10
[SPEAKER_11]: That day it goes down in history, obviously for all of us dolphin fans, and also man, what you had to be going through.
21:20
[SPEAKER_11]: We talked about the people that were impacted, you know, that day being from New York, friends and family.
21:28
[SPEAKER_11]: Man, that's the leader that I loved most about.
21:34
[SPEAKER_11]: Jay was such a great leader for us, you guys.
21:36
[SPEAKER_11]: You have no idea.
21:38
[SPEAKER_11]: And Jay was not coming out of that damn game.
21:41
[SPEAKER_11]: You know, you know, out of five, everything you say.
21:44
[SPEAKER_11]: All kinds of reasons that you can tell.
21:46
[SPEAKER_11]: All kinds of reasons.
21:47
[SPEAKER_11]: Once he talked about, also he knew that game and that day meant, and man, man, man, one of my favorite quarterbacks, man, the best quarterback we've had is the damn arena right there.
21:58
[SPEAKER_08]: appreciate that juice appreciated and much respect for you as well because I know the pain you played through certainly the year the one year that we had together and you know seeing what you uh overcame you know much respect right back at your body.
22:17
[SPEAKER_08]: Good stuff, good stuff.
22:19
[SPEAKER_06]: So yeah, I can't wait for you to hear the whole thing, Jay.
22:22
[SPEAKER_06]: And it's just been really cool to, we talked in 19 different people, including yourself.
22:26
[SPEAKER_06]: 19 people who need to tell this story.
22:28
[SPEAKER_08]: Totally looking forward to it.
22:30
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, guys you played with, guys you played against, guys you worked with.
22:34
[SPEAKER_06]: So a few reporters, we didn't get perking this one, but we got a couple of his colleagues.
22:39
[SPEAKER_06]: If they've hired Mike Mayo, Greg Cody, or all in this one, so just a lot of neat perspectives and telling the story.
22:47
[SPEAKER_06]: But we wanted another perspective, we just not just did another interview and promoting this thing, and he made the comparison to what Malik Willis might be going through right now getting his opportunity to start.
23:00
[SPEAKER_06]: Now, his journey was a little different than yours, still, you know, he was third round pick and so on and so forth.
23:06
[SPEAKER_06]: you know, your journey was incredible, but the idea that he's clearly believed in himself, he's continued to work at it, and he finally got a team that thinks he's ready to take the reins, and it just so happens to be the same team that you got your opportunity with.
23:23
[SPEAKER_06]: What's going through a guy like Mulik Willis's head?
23:25
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, I don't know if you don't personally or not,
23:28
[SPEAKER_06]: What was going through your head in that moment where you were getting ready to start your first game as the guy.
23:36
[SPEAKER_06]: You've started games in the past, but as the guy.
23:39
[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, and I'll tell you what, and then start too many games leading up to that.
23:45
[SPEAKER_08]: You know, I was a backup for a number of years, a third string for a few years.
23:51
[SPEAKER_08]: You know, a backup for for two years.
23:54
[SPEAKER_08]: And I think I had the
23:58
[SPEAKER_08]: It was one full start on the my belt going into that with Jacksonville Jaguars.
24:03
[SPEAKER_08]: I came in and in a few games We know you play for Jacksonville.
24:07
[SPEAKER_11]: We don't want to hear all that Care about how you put up remorse on the games out of reach the player.
24:15
[SPEAKER_11]: We know about Jacksonville I didn't I didn't bring that up now
24:27
[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, but, you know, look, coming in and finally get my shot and, you know, that was, you know, a huge thing to number one, you know, to have a coach and an organization that believes in you enough to
24:40
[SPEAKER_08]: You know, give you a chance to compete for the number one spot You know, I know Malik was signed.
24:45
[SPEAKER_08]: You know to be the guy.
24:47
[SPEAKER_08]: I was signed to compete to be the guy And one it out, but either way, you know, I think you know, they didn't sign me to lose a job You know, so
25:00
[SPEAKER_08]: You know, having an organization that really believed in you, you know, first and foremost, you know, that's a huge plus in the NFL, you know, to go in with that kind of confidence behind you.
25:13
[SPEAKER_08]: And then, you know, look, you know, you're always out to prove people wrong.
25:18
[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, Malix and unknown quantity right now.
25:22
[SPEAKER_08]: You know, no one knows, you know, everyone's got a lot of high-sip high-hope for him.
25:26
[SPEAKER_08]: He was a top prospect, you know, coming out of college.
25:30
[SPEAKER_08]: He played phenomenal and preseason games.
25:33
[SPEAKER_08]: He's played, you know, well in games that he's been in up in Green Bay and, you know, everyone has high hopes for him, but, you know, you still have to be the guy and go out there and prove it to everyone before.
25:48
[SPEAKER_08]: you know anyone's going to give you all the accolades.
25:50
[SPEAKER_08]: So, you know, he's just got to put his nose to the grindstone and, you know, just keep pushing forward and not listen to all the, you know, all the chatter around them and, you know, know that what you're doing to prepare yourself, we can, and we can out and day in and day out, is what's needed for the job.
26:11
[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, that's the way he's just got to look at it and, and attack this
26:17
[SPEAKER_11]: And you know what else I say about you, too, Jay, that reminds you a lot of each other, both, hello, athletes.
26:25
[SPEAKER_11]: But more importantly, both great leaders, man.
26:29
[SPEAKER_11]: I think Malika's really taken, like you did, man, you are a great leader.
26:33
[SPEAKER_11]: In that disposition, the most important position in sports, you have to have a leader that everybody on the team loves.
26:42
[SPEAKER_11]: You know what I mean?
26:43
[SPEAKER_11]: And that's how we felt about J. Feeller.
26:46
[SPEAKER_11]: I think that Malik is getting that same love because I see him with all the guys, offense, defense.
26:51
[SPEAKER_11]: I don't know if you hang out with the punner and kicker.
26:53
[SPEAKER_11]: I wouldn't if I was him.
26:55
[SPEAKER_11]: But you know, but that part about being a leader on the football team.
27:03
[SPEAKER_11]: is it's important, man, because sometimes you see these things.
27:06
[SPEAKER_11]: You see these divas starting quarterbacks, that, you know, they're, they're, they're by themselves.
27:10
[SPEAKER_11]: They, they don't hang out with anybody afterward.
27:13
[SPEAKER_11]: J. Feather was a, a leader of men on that football field.
27:18
[SPEAKER_11]: And that's why guys.
27:20
[SPEAKER_11]: James Big Knight was really out there trying to block for you first.
27:24
[SPEAKER_11]: Then he's trying to help you off the field because he knows that, you know, but that's that love that Lottie's guy's half for their quarterbacks, man.
27:31
[SPEAKER_11]: And some dudes, you know, they don't care because of quarterback, don't care.
27:34
[SPEAKER_11]: You care, I think Malette cares and I think that's one of the best comparisons, man, about being a leader in a position that needs leadership.
27:43
[SPEAKER_11]: more than any other team like yeah you look at baseball the one that pitches might be to lead on the team or number three batter.
27:50
[SPEAKER_11]: Look at basketball can be a Garcenter forward that can be that you know the leader when it comes to football you need your QB1 to be the guy leading that football team and that's your down for us and I think that's what these guys looking for from the lead move forward.
28:03
[SPEAKER_08]: And I think you bring up such an important part, Jason, and great comment on that and great perspective with that, one of the things that I really focused myself on that first year was getting to know all the guys.
28:19
[SPEAKER_08]: Look, first week I was there and for off season workouts, we were hanging out on Fort Lowe to the El Beach, we were going to Chooses House to play basketball, we were, you know.
28:29
[SPEAKER_08]: going to go into Gatsby's and playing pool and Gatsby's, you know, having just having fun together outside of the locker room.
28:39
[SPEAKER_08]: You know, I'm not just, you know, the guys in your room, not just the other QBs in your room.
28:45
[SPEAKER_08]: You know, it's getting to know all the offensive why I mean, obviously, you know, but for me, it was also getting to know the guys on defense because I wanted, I wanted them to know
28:55
[SPEAKER_08]: you know, when push comes to shove and, you know, they need to get a three and out to help us with a two-minute drive at the end of a game, you know, they know me and they know, you know, the guy that's, that's going to try and lead them down the field.
29:11
[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, it's such an important part as a quarterback and a leader to get to know every, everyone around the locker room personally, and to, you know, to spend time with them,
29:26
[SPEAKER_08]: to have fun with them and and do that and you know from what it sounds like juice you're saying you know Malik has been doing that and kudos to him and you know I think that will go a long way you know for him with his organization
29:41
[SPEAKER_06]: I love that you brought up that three and out because you don't get that, you don't get that fourth quarter come back, if they don't get a three and out, we punted the ball with 232 left in the game, we punted the ball in the game.
29:55
[SPEAKER_06]: After that, after that, after that series, the one where you got hit and almost got pulled out of the game there, or sent out of the game by James tonight, McNeill, you look, you're not having your back.
30:06
[SPEAKER_06]: It's I can't wait for you to hear it because it was great to hear Dave talk about what he's like I don't feel good about this.
30:12
[SPEAKER_06]: We're gonna go ahead and find it.
30:13
[SPEAKER_06]: So, you know, but potting ain't a bad thing is what he told us First, what was your first hear cover in the Dolphins on the beat?
30:20
[SPEAKER_12]: 2000 2000 that scene was the first year.
30:23
[SPEAKER_12]: So yeah, so I also I'll say this about Jay underrated under estimated under-appreciated and you guys know when you got to know Jay you also got to know his dad and his brother and so was a it was a no it was a great deal.
30:38
[SPEAKER_12]: It was a great experience cover and Jay a true leader yeah, so I yeah I enjoyed that team and and and cover and Jay and and everything associated with that team
30:50
[SPEAKER_06]: Now, Jay, did you enjoy his coverage as much as he enjoyed covering me?
30:56
[SPEAKER_08]: That was week to week.
30:58
[SPEAKER_12]: It's like an interview report, like an interview report.
31:10
[SPEAKER_06]: Good.
31:11
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, we're grateful that you came on to spend a little time with us and help us promote this and tell the story man So I know you got to get back to your family and getting ready for the big holiday here, but I really appreciate you I have no doubt.
31:26
[SPEAKER_08]: Always always happy to dive in with you guys Thank you
31:35
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, man.
31:36
[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, I mean, I mean, you can't, I can't say enough great things about J. Feele, man.
31:41
[SPEAKER_11]: Um, you know, honestly, we all talk about the last playoff win, but there was so much us that went into it.
31:48
[SPEAKER_11]: When you got a quarterback that's, you know, we got a running game, you know, of course the Marshal did that.
31:55
[SPEAKER_11]: That touched around him.
31:55
[SPEAKER_11]: We had a great defense.
31:57
[SPEAKER_11]: He did a great job of of of a manager thing.
32:01
[SPEAKER_11]: I think more than anything.
32:03
[SPEAKER_11]: They didn't give Jay enough opportunities to like you said Jay Dave was so Dave once that was so cool.
32:08
[SPEAKER_11]: Just punt in the football and we didn't take very many chances, you know, like, come on, man.
32:15
[SPEAKER_11]: We got a great defense, man.
32:16
[SPEAKER_11]: Take some damn chances, bro.
32:18
[SPEAKER_05]: You know, we, we, we, we, we all right, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
32:40
[SPEAKER_12]: And Jay had that iconic Sports Illustrator cover, right?
32:43
[SPEAKER_12]: Yes, he did.
32:44
[SPEAKER_12]: He served as part of the piece.
32:46
[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, he was part of the piece, right?
32:47
[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
32:49
[SPEAKER_11]: When you hear that part of the story, within the, you know, the photographer that we interviewed, that set the interview.
32:57
[SPEAKER_11]: That was a very interesting stuff, man.
32:59
[SPEAKER_11]: Very interesting stuff.
33:01
[SPEAKER_11]: So good.
33:02
[SPEAKER_11]: You know, it was all nice, so great stuff.
33:05
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, that was great memories.
33:07
[SPEAKER_06]: I was like, I think that aligned with when you were there perks.
33:09
[SPEAKER_12]: So yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
33:32
[SPEAKER_02]: to good to good.
33:34
[SPEAKER_06]: So I guess a couple other things some newsworthy stuff here that getting back to, we'll fast forward back to 25 years to current times, big news on the injury report.
33:44
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, the injury report just said did not practice, which is I'm sure how the raiders would have preferred that the news was released.
33:52
[SPEAKER_06]: But there's a report that
33:55
[SPEAKER_06]: that the raider's starting tight in gets that he had what I'm in this is this is a little snitch a procedure they say a procedure.
34:05
[SPEAKER_11]: That's big deal if they do a procedure that means they they probably cut and I'm now docked right and they put a piece off.
34:12
[SPEAKER_11]: If they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if they would, if
34:29
[SPEAKER_11]: But yeah, that's crazy though.
34:31
[SPEAKER_11]: And so crazy, part, because think about it.
34:33
[SPEAKER_11]: You know, you guys were talking the half-to-day, and you know, that now they've got to probably a different game plan defensively, right?
34:40
[SPEAKER_12]: I mean, you've got to do a little bit of a different, right?
34:43
[SPEAKER_12]: And you know what I was looking forward to what they were going to do with Kyle Lewis as the Joker, or that, you know, that kind of chess piece that they would use as the Big Nickel or Safety, or a linebacker, line them up in the slot against Brock Bowers.
34:58
[SPEAKER_12]: previous to this Brock Bowers injury that Kyle Lewis was going to be a big part of the defensive game plan.
35:05
[SPEAKER_12]: I'm sure he still will be, but his role probably takes a set backwards now that Brock Bowers isn't there.
35:12
[SPEAKER_12]: But you'd break for the dolphins.
35:14
[SPEAKER_12]: They don't have Brock, Brock Bowers, and the dolphins get crispy.
35:19
[SPEAKER_12]: So the dolphins win and that exchange, right?
35:22
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, absolutely.
35:23
[SPEAKER_11]: Now, who's there back up tight in?
35:24
[SPEAKER_12]: So, Brock, Mike, Mike, Mike, or 13th, baby.
35:28
[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.
35:29
[SPEAKER_05]: He's a second rompick.
35:30
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
35:30
[SPEAKER_05]: He's a second rompick and they still took Brock powers.
35:32
[SPEAKER_05]: So it's good.
35:33
[SPEAKER_05]: We didn't have anybody, but he's not Brock powers.
35:35
[SPEAKER_06]: He's not Brock powers.
35:36
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, it was right.
35:37
[SPEAKER_06]: I look in, you know, juice and I just talked about this on the other show.
35:41
[SPEAKER_06]: There's not a lot of talent, like there's certainly not a lot of depth on either of these rosters.
35:46
[SPEAKER_06]: There's a reason the Raiders picked up one overall in this draft.
35:50
[SPEAKER_06]: There's a reason that the dolphins had a completely rebuilt.
35:52
[SPEAKER_06]: We've talked about that at Nazium and dead cap, and he part of whether it's real or not.
35:59
[SPEAKER_06]: We've talked about all those things.
36:02
[SPEAKER_06]: So to lose a player of that caliber, it is huge because it's not like they've got eight other guys on the roster that are also in the same category.
36:13
[SPEAKER_06]: So yeah, that's a big deal.
36:16
[SPEAKER_06]: And you just have to believe that somebody's got to be pissed off with the raiders that that news got out.
36:24
[SPEAKER_11]: Because all they had to do was say he didn't press.
36:26
[SPEAKER_11]: Big set is Vegas, you know what I mean?
36:29
[SPEAKER_11]: It's Vegas.
36:31
[SPEAKER_11]: easy for yourself to get out of Vegas because somebody's got to in on all the, that's the easiest need to report to get when you're actually, you know, when you're in Vegas, I mean, well, rebound might be up, maybe one of the hardest places to get some injury if it makes with Vegas,
36:46
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, you know somebody there's like, yo, yo, you hear that, uh, jeer, you know, okay, they probably scout some of the, yeah, and you know that, that's freaking Vegas man.
36:57
[SPEAKER_11]: You're not going to get anything by, you know, the media, it's a fair point.
37:01
[SPEAKER_11]: The better, all that stuff, the Vegas, that's the day.
37:03
[SPEAKER_11]: They probably have to deal with stuff, right?
37:04
[SPEAKER_06]: And we talk about the whole South Beach flu.
37:05
[SPEAKER_06]: They've got to be talking about the day.
37:06
[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
37:11
[SPEAKER_06]: And then I guess the other, I don't know what you want to call it, sexy story, Patrick Paul.
37:16
[SPEAKER_06]: And I want to ask you about this part.
37:17
[SPEAKER_06]: Patrick Paul has asked about Max Crosby.
37:20
[SPEAKER_06]: From what I understand, he had a lot of nice things to say, but then he called it a hothead.
37:25
[SPEAKER_06]: And that's all that mattered.
37:26
[SPEAKER_06]: And somehow that's an insult, which, you know, I mean, like why I want my defensive linemen to eat raw meat and be hotheads.
37:34
[SPEAKER_06]: But the reaction now, now it's a thing.
37:37
[SPEAKER_06]: Now it's a thing.
37:41
[SPEAKER_12]: 100% I was there and I was surprised it didn't blow up a little bit bigger locally.
37:46
[SPEAKER_12]: He said it on Monday and I nobody else wrote it.
37:50
[SPEAKER_12]: So I wrote it today, but it blew up.
37:53
[SPEAKER_12]: It did like the, you know, I know some other outlets did something on it Monday and I think that it really, the hot hit label came from Liam Eichenberg a couple of years ago saying that he likes to talk trash to Max Crosby and get him off his game and I think he got like a,
38:09
[SPEAKER_12]: I'm sports them like conduct.
38:11
[SPEAKER_12]: I know medium real man.
38:12
[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, I mean, I don't work with him.
38:14
[SPEAKER_11]: Right.
38:14
[SPEAKER_12]: You know, man.
38:15
[SPEAKER_12]: He won't go away.
38:18
[SPEAKER_12]: So, and then and so yeah, but Patrick Paul said it very matter of factly and you're right.
38:23
[SPEAKER_12]: He did say it.
38:24
[SPEAKER_12]: A man of strength of compliments and you know, I got to get my hands on him and you got to do this.
38:29
[SPEAKER_12]: You got to do that.
38:30
[SPEAKER_12]: And then you just see it very matter of fact me, you know, he kept saying I'm going to get him off his game because I asked him what do you do against Max and he said get him off his game get him off his game get him off his game and he said I believe that he's a hothead and then my colleague David Ferona said, well, you know, and Patrick Paul is a noted trash talker and so Ferona said does talk and trash
38:59
[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, some of that stuff that you say to him could get him off his game and then he see it But he's a great player.
39:04
[SPEAKER_11]: You got to play all four quarters again You got you guys kept digging it digging it out digging it out, man But how did it not become a bigger thing sooner like what the hell you guys doing down there?
39:23
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:24
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:24
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:24
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:25
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:25
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:25
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:26
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:26
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:26
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:27
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:27
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:28
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:28
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:28
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:29
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:29
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:29
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:30
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:30
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:31
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:31
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:31
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:32
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:32
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:32
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:33
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:33
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:33
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:34
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:34
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:35
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:35
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
39:35
[SPEAKER_12]: I don't know.
39:36
[SPEAKER_12]: I don't know.
39:36
[SPEAKER_12]: I don't know.
39:36
[SPEAKER_12]: I don't know.
39:37
[SPEAKER_12]: I don't know.
39:37
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:38
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:38
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:38
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:38
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:39
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
39:39
[SPEAKER_12]: I don't
39:39
[SPEAKER_12]: We didn't write the OK, like for owners wrote it, but he meant to e-buried it.
39:43
[SPEAKER_12]: And I was just like, wow.
39:45
[SPEAKER_06]: Like, I was wondering what happened in 2000 when you were covering the Miami Dolphins with that thing.
39:49
[SPEAKER_12]: With that thing with a blown up on Tuesday morning.
39:52
[SPEAKER_12]: That's right.
39:54
[SPEAKER_12]: That was three internet days as soon as we did.
39:56
[SPEAKER_06]: What have been all over the last year before?
40:00
[SPEAKER_12]: Exactly.
40:02
[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, no.
40:03
[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, we were asleep at the wheel on that one.
40:05
[SPEAKER_12]: Um, yeah, that should have blown up Monday afternoon.
40:08
[SPEAKER_12]: Well, not even blown up because he said it in a, you know, in a pretty calm way, but it should have been noted.
40:15
[SPEAKER_12]: It should have been noted in a headline on Monday afternoon Monday, even.
40:21
[SPEAKER_11]: But I think you're right, though, Perk.
40:23
[SPEAKER_11]: He said so many glowing things about Max.
40:27
[SPEAKER_11]: He really was like, really, like, damn, man.
40:30
[SPEAKER_11]: All right, let's do it.
40:31
[SPEAKER_11]: All right, calm it down.
40:32
[SPEAKER_11]: You got to play against this, too, man.
40:34
[SPEAKER_11]: But that's how you put that foot in the sleep.
40:35
[SPEAKER_11]: And then he, then he, then he, walking back out.
40:37
[SPEAKER_12]: You're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, you're
40:48
[SPEAKER_12]: But it's so annoying, it left the mark though.
40:51
[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.
40:51
[SPEAKER_12]: And in Patrick Paul, you know, Patrick Paul is a chill dude.
40:55
[SPEAKER_12]: Great sense of humor, but they will tell you that this dude will talk some trash.
40:59
[SPEAKER_12]: Like, very, very own trash.
41:01
[SPEAKER_12]: He's not a richie in cognito, where he's going to slam you down on the ground and all that kind of stuff and be the dirtiest layer in the league.
41:08
[SPEAKER_12]: But he's going to talk some trash and be very polite and smile and, you know, whoop your ass.
41:13
[SPEAKER_12]: He's usually long word when he talks trash.
41:15
[SPEAKER_05]: He's very elegant when he talks trash.
41:20
[SPEAKER_05]: That's the abrasive trash talking, you know what I was like, what do you mean that you nobody wrote that.
41:31
[SPEAKER_06]: That's, well, that's another comment.
41:33
[SPEAKER_06]: That's another show.
41:33
[SPEAKER_07]: Well, that is one of the days.
41:35
[SPEAKER_06]: I got it.
41:36
[SPEAKER_06]: We got to do a media roundtable or something.
41:37
[SPEAKER_06]: We got to, I got to see what's going on in that beat because it's just not.
41:42
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
41:42
[SPEAKER_07]: Well, another story for another day.
41:44
[SPEAKER_06]: So listen, we have no Van Hormelog group legal zone.
41:48
[SPEAKER_06]: I think Chad is traveling.
41:49
[SPEAKER_11]: So I agree with the family.
41:51
[SPEAKER_06]: Good for him as he should be he earned it and get it in right before the regular season.
41:56
[SPEAKER_06]: Support you can hold on any questions that you have for the next time.
41:58
[SPEAKER_06]: Chad is back.
42:00
[SPEAKER_06]: That does mean it's time to roll into, I tried to tell y'all as we saw in the chat.
42:05
[SPEAKER_06]: People were very excited to have Savak back.
42:08
[SPEAKER_06]: He's off the injury report.
42:09
[SPEAKER_06]: He is absolutely participating this week.
42:13
[SPEAKER_06]: And I think we spun the wheel, man, and your name popped up.
42:16
[SPEAKER_06]: So, Savak, what have you been trying to tell us for two weeks?
42:21
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, you know, first of all, man, this was, this was really nice.
42:24
[SPEAKER_00]: It was awesome to see Jay again, because, you know, as the young in the group, like you guys, everybody was talking about what they were doing at that time.
42:32
[SPEAKER_00]: I was sitting on my ass playing NFL Street, too, and that was my quarterback.
42:37
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, there you go.
42:39
[SPEAKER_00]: So I started there, but I tried to tell y'all that life ain't a damn movie.
42:46
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so last week, y'all covered the roster and how everybody was suddenly shocked that this team is young and inexperienced.
42:54
[SPEAKER_00]: Lot of new faces.
42:56
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we literally just traded for a new backup quarterback again from Green Bay a couple of weeks ago.
43:03
[SPEAKER_00]: At this point, I'm here in rumors where in talks to
43:10
[SPEAKER_00]: Just to complete the Packers on South Beach Moved Chief, right?
43:13
[SPEAKER_00]: Some dude named Gary has been changed in light bulbs at Lambo since 2007's about to become our assistant director of player first and tell whatever.
43:21
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I understand that we live in the modern era.
43:26
[SPEAKER_00]: and through our various streaming services, we have access to basically every movie ever made.
43:31
[SPEAKER_00]: Apparently, some of y'all have watched two damn many of them.
43:34
[SPEAKER_00]: Because somehow, fueled by certain talking heads on certain platforms, folks convinced themselves that our little rag tag group of misfits was going to come together, allow the movie major league, overcome their differences, have a couple of hilarious bonding moments,
43:53
[SPEAKER_00]: montage, and suddenly we're barnstorming our way to the Super Bowl, through the music.
43:59
[SPEAKER_00]: Emily Willis throws for 4,000 yards, some rookie nobody heard of, and April becomes an all-pro.
44:05
[SPEAKER_00]: Half the gives a speech in the rain, and somehow Dan Moreno's waitin' at mid-feel, holding a
44:14
[SPEAKER_00]: That ain't reality, folks.
44:16
[SPEAKER_00]: For the love of all things bright and beautiful will you people finally listen to me and heed my freaking words.
44:23
[SPEAKER_00]: I set it a couple weeks back.
44:25
[SPEAKER_00]: Hell, I set it a couple to a few months ago.
44:27
[SPEAKER_00]: This thing will take time.
44:31
[SPEAKER_00]: I say again, as mentioned two weeks ago, even the perfect season roster wasn't born over one off season.
44:38
[SPEAKER_00]: They had four shit seasons
44:42
[SPEAKER_00]: Chulid didn't walk into the building.
44:44
[SPEAKER_00]: Press X on the controller, select rebuild franchise, and have the 72 dolphins downloaded by Tuesday.
44:51
[SPEAKER_00]: It took time.
44:52
[SPEAKER_00]: Hell, the last time we had a slow motion rebuilding in progress, under Flores, they were hot garbage at the beginning.
45:00
[SPEAKER_00]: not regular garbage.
45:03
[SPEAKER_00]: The kind you walk past in July and go, Jesus Christ went down there.
45:09
[SPEAKER_00]: Then they developed.
45:11
[SPEAKER_00]: They got better.
45:12
[SPEAKER_00]: Things started clicking him by the end of 2019.
45:15
[SPEAKER_00]: We were sitting there going, hey, this guy's floor is my nap something here.
45:19
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, obviously, the rest of that movie went a very different direction, but the point remains.
45:24
[SPEAKER_00]: It took most of that season before things started yelling.
45:27
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I don't know what it is.
45:28
[SPEAKER_00]: Perhaps it's the cursed big Seth doesn't believe in.
45:31
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe there's something in the water.
45:33
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Stephen Ross really, maybe the stadium really is built on an ancient burial ground.
45:39
[SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe, and I think this is probably the real answer.
45:42
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just the desperation that comes from nearly three damn decades without consistent success.
45:48
[SPEAKER_00]: But some members of our wonderful fan base allowed themselves to be convinced that this squad was going to come out flying out the tunnel like the mighty damn ducks.
45:58
[SPEAKER_00]: Black, quite, quite super bowl.
46:00
[SPEAKER_00]: Come on guys.
46:01
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's actually why one of my favorite sports movies of all time is code Carter.
46:06
[SPEAKER_00]: You know why?
46:06
[SPEAKER_00]: Because at the end of the movie, spoiler alert for a film that came out 21 years ago.
46:12
[SPEAKER_00]: Despite playing their asses off, fighting back, putting on a hell of a show, they lose.
46:19
[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
46:20
[SPEAKER_00]: Samuel Jackson doesn't reveal that Richmond had one time out left.
46:24
[SPEAKER_00]: There's no secret five point play.
46:26
[SPEAKER_00]: Michael Jordan doesn't come walking out of the tunnel.
46:28
[SPEAKER_00]: They lose the damn game.
46:30
[SPEAKER_00]: And Coach Carter walks into the locker room and essentially tells them hold your heads up because you played like champions.
46:37
[SPEAKER_00]: You became better basketball player sure.
46:40
[SPEAKER_00]: But more importantly, you grew.
46:42
[SPEAKER_00]: You became a team.
46:43
[SPEAKER_00]: You went from a gang of boys to a team of young men who learned how to fight for one another.
46:48
[SPEAKER_00]: That is the kind of ending we should be prepared for with the dolphins this year.
46:53
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they surpass it.
46:54
[SPEAKER_00]: Hell, I hope they do.
46:56
[SPEAKER_00]: If half and Sully turn this thing around immediately and we're playing meaningful football deep in the January, I will happily sit my ass right here and say, I was wrong.
47:05
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll put it on a t-shirt.
47:07
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll even let big set pick the font for me.
47:09
[SPEAKER_00]: But they know.
47:12
[SPEAKER_00]: if this season ends without a parade without a trophy and without Malice standing on a float going down this game Boulevard while pit bull plays in the bit damn background that does not automatically mean this season was a failure because the question this year shouldn't just be did they win?
47:29
[SPEAKER_00]: It should also be did they grow?
47:32
[SPEAKER_00]: did the young players develop.
47:34
[SPEAKER_00]: It happily established this culture.
47:36
[SPEAKER_00]: Did Sullivan identify pieces that can be part of this thing three, four or five years from now?
47:42
[SPEAKER_00]: Did September's mistakes become December's strengths?
47:45
[SPEAKER_00]: and did this collection of new faces actually start becoming a football team?
47:50
[SPEAKER_00]: Because if the answer to those questions is yes, then just like the families waiting outside the Jim and Coach Carter, maybe we ought to be standing there cheering these guys on anyways.
48:00
[SPEAKER_00]: Because they fought, they grew.
48:02
[SPEAKER_00]: And because they gave us something to build on.
48:05
[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes victory isn't the damn trophy at the end of the movie.
48:09
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes it's becoming the team that's capable of winning one of the sequel.
48:13
[SPEAKER_00]: So in conclusion, long road, young team growing pains, life and a damn movie, and going to be a montage that fixes everything before a week for.
48:23
[SPEAKER_00]: This thing is going to take time.
48:25
[SPEAKER_00]: And so when everyone starts losing their minds because a young, young, inexperienced football team, occasionally looks like a young inexperienced football team, I want you to remember one thing.
48:35
[SPEAKER_00]: I tried to frickin' tell you.
48:39
[SPEAKER_06]: There it is, there it is, there it is.
48:41
[SPEAKER_06]: God, you were standing there, there it is.
48:43
[SPEAKER_06]: That's right.
48:44
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, that's right.
48:45
[SPEAKER_06]: Good stuff.
48:46
[SPEAKER_06]: And I love the coach Carter reference remind me tell you we screen that movie for the Jason Taylor foundation bigs when he's big dreams and we were a company by Rick Gonzalez who played Timo Cruz in the movie and Rick we haven't spent in the next day with Rick and poker and high school basketball team was quite an adventure good old record all awesome stuff
49:09
[SPEAKER_06]: We'll spend again Chris Perkins what's our tell us man
49:14
[SPEAKER_12]: man, I tried to tell y'all that there's a high chance that this dolphin season opener produces a memorable result for one reason or another.
49:25
[SPEAKER_12]: Now I wrote about this on sunsinton.com just the history of dolphin season openers, right?
49:32
[SPEAKER_12]: 2024, you had Ty Rikill detained by law enforcement outside a hard rock stadium before that game against Jacksonville, right?
49:42
[SPEAKER_12]: We go back to 2018 when they have the season opener at Hard Rock Stadium against Tennessee, the two lightning delay, seven hour game.
49:52
[SPEAKER_12]: Seventeen when Hurricane Irma postpones the opener against Tampa, they go out to L.A.
49:58
[SPEAKER_12]: They have the Chris Firster, Halry White Substance Incident.
50:02
[SPEAKER_12]: plus Lauren Simmons goes able, right?
50:05
[SPEAKER_12]: All this stuff you go to 2016.
50:08
[SPEAKER_12]: Adam Gase is daydream.
50:09
[SPEAKER_12]: They leave Jenga Jaya home because he's upset that Aryan Foster got named a starter that was also the first game where the four players kneel, right?
50:18
[SPEAKER_12]: Aryan Foster.
50:19
[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, Kenny Stills, Jelani Jenkins, and Michael Thomas.
50:23
[SPEAKER_12]: You go back to Joe Filbin's season.
50:26
[SPEAKER_12]: No, you go back to Brian Flores, a season opener.
50:29
[SPEAKER_12]: The 59 to 10 loss against Baltimore, right?
50:33
[SPEAKER_12]: Joe Filbin's opener in 2012, Ryan Tanahill throws three interceptions.
50:39
[SPEAKER_12]: So there's just this whole history.
50:42
[SPEAKER_12]: Oh, uh, Mike McDaniel sees an opener in 2022.
50:47
[SPEAKER_12]: He beats the great bill bellachit.
50:48
[SPEAKER_12]: You guys remember bellachit brought the Patriots down here all week.
50:52
[SPEAKER_12]: They practice at Plane Beach Atlantic University thinking that they can outdo the South Florida humidity and work.
50:59
[SPEAKER_12]: That's also the game.
51:01
[SPEAKER_06]: I think he had a cheerleading competition.
51:03
[SPEAKER_06]: We're going to solve it.
51:04
[SPEAKER_12]: That's the eight cards burned up in the parking lot.
51:07
[SPEAKER_12]: And it's for half of somebody's tailgate grill got knocked over.
51:10
[SPEAKER_12]: That's right.
51:11
[SPEAKER_12]: This is whole history of dolphin season openers.
51:15
[SPEAKER_12]: There's something memorable about that season opener.
51:19
[SPEAKER_12]: I think that's going to repeat on Sunday.
51:22
[SPEAKER_12]: I can't tell you who it's going to be.
51:24
[SPEAKER_12]: Why it's going to be hopefully it's an um the field reason, but I'm thinking there's going to be something memorable happen on Sunday because it's a season opener, because it's an era opener, and because it's the dolphins I tried to tell y'all.
51:39
[SPEAKER_10]: Wow.
51:39
[SPEAKER_05]: Here's something memorable.
51:40
[SPEAKER_05]: Just win the game and have it be boring.
51:42
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, I don't get it right 10 9.
51:45
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm going to be fabulous.
51:49
[SPEAKER_06]: He's so good.
51:50
[SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely.
51:51
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, we've got one more for you folks and I know you've been waiting as much as you wanted to backpack.
51:58
[SPEAKER_06]: The phones have been ringing off the hook.
52:00
[SPEAKER_05]: the people want more Michael Lee by try to tell you something like what did try to tell us man and perks that me up a little bit on this i'll thank you perk i tried to tell you all shot and Freud is real and i'm going to rejoice once again at week one of another real season that bill byla check will never break down to list records for most of the head coach bill byla check
52:21
[SPEAKER_05]: had this gift wrap for him this record.
52:24
[SPEAKER_05]: He was so close 15 wins away.
52:26
[SPEAKER_05]: Then the full ball gods stepped in and said not so fast my friend.
52:30
[SPEAKER_05]: Now Andy Reid may some day break this record.
52:33
[SPEAKER_05]: And that's fine because he seems like a nice normal human being.
52:37
[SPEAKER_05]: He was someone who would make that to the crowd.
52:39
[SPEAKER_05]: But Bill Balochek is a 0.0% chance of ever getting this record.
52:44
[SPEAKER_05]: And boy, how the mighty half fallen.
52:47
[SPEAKER_05]: Man dressed like the mascot for the force as this rock bottomed from your eyes.
52:51
[SPEAKER_05]: I say career-wise because Bill clearly wears one important lesson in life.
52:57
[SPEAKER_05]: And that is a 22 year old female's like a good carpenter.
53:01
[SPEAKER_05]: No wood gets wasted.
53:02
[SPEAKER_05]: So his personal life might be the nine.
53:04
[SPEAKER_05]: It's for a fashion life is at a one.
53:06
[SPEAKER_05]: Bill Balachek, who has six Super Bowl wins as a head coach.
53:09
[SPEAKER_05]: Two is a coordinator.
53:11
[SPEAKER_05]: Was well on his way to breaking down choose all time record.
53:14
[SPEAKER_05]: But then things went off the rails.
53:15
[SPEAKER_05]: Tom Brady leaves the Patriots.
53:17
[SPEAKER_05]: Patriots goes 7 in 9.
53:18
[SPEAKER_05]: 10 in 7, 8 in 9, then 4 in 13.
53:22
[SPEAKER_05]: Uh-oh, Bill then gets fired.
53:24
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I'm sorry.
53:25
[SPEAKER_05]: The Patriots mutually agreed to part ways with Bill Bella check.
53:29
[SPEAKER_05]: To the same way the Miami Dolphins and Chris Greer mutually agreed to part ways last season.
53:36
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, okay, we're all buying that.
53:37
[SPEAKER_06]: Sure, okay, let's just take a picture.
53:40
[SPEAKER_05]: and he gets fired.
53:41
[SPEAKER_05]: Then after one year off or he did TV, which is ironic is held because he just abused people in the media for years.
53:49
[SPEAKER_05]: He takes a job at North Carolina.
53:52
[SPEAKER_05]: North Carolina, the state where the men are men and the sheep are scared.
53:56
[SPEAKER_05]: A middle of the pack, ACC school.
53:58
[SPEAKER_05]: A school that invests a ton of money in football for him, only for it to fail in every step.
54:04
[SPEAKER_05]: Bill Bolocheck and ACC should be able to coach circles around.
54:07
[SPEAKER_05]: Bolo ACC coaches like Fran Brown, Pat and Arduzi, Tony Elliott, but he can't.
54:13
[SPEAKER_05]: And his time at North Carolina, get this full, put on a seatbelt, has been an unmitigated disaster that his turn is just legacy forever.
54:21
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, let's count the ways.
54:23
[SPEAKER_05]: First off, he starts two data girl 49 years younger than him.
54:27
[SPEAKER_05]: Then that said, female becomes his director of communications for all things, Bill Bella Check, where he is, he tells the school they have to see see her on all emails to him.
54:39
[SPEAKER_05]: He has a deal with HBO and Hartnacht to follow you and see football around the deal falls apart.
54:44
[SPEAKER_05]: Why?
54:45
[SPEAKER_05]: Because his lady friend wants creative control over the whole project than that deal falls apart.
54:51
[SPEAKER_05]: Then he goes on a CBS Sunday morning.
54:54
[SPEAKER_05]: Has anyone watched a CBS Sunday morning show?
54:56
[SPEAKER_05]: It's a gentle human interest show.
54:59
[SPEAKER_05]: They talked about a guy with one arm in the mountains with no power and he saves the spot at all each week and takes him back up.
55:05
[SPEAKER_05]: He goes on CBS and scoring the most cream pop show there is and his girlfriend cuts the interview off Mitchell They go storming off the set like the Jerry Springer show that U.S. Then you went and his girlfriend from the campus and you know, he's quite no, she wasn't banned.
55:22
[SPEAKER_05]: She was banned Then U.N.C.
55:24
[SPEAKER_05]: alumni and a people who's having the big money there filed a complaint against the school Because they felt him and his young lady friend were embarrassing the U.N.C.
55:33
[SPEAKER_05]: brand then
55:34
[SPEAKER_05]: a UNC chief academic officer sued the school saying North Carolina violated the law in hiring bill by the check because there was closed meetings and there's some laws and that the school's got to be open.
55:46
[SPEAKER_05]: Whatever, I don't know all the details.
55:47
[SPEAKER_05]: That he filled up his whole coaching staff for friends and family who are qualified for this.
55:53
[SPEAKER_05]: That he places first game in home, they lose 48 to 14.
55:55
[SPEAKER_05]: Then he has to put that for some reason.
55:57
[SPEAKER_05]: He bands patriots scouts from
56:03
[SPEAKER_05]: They go 2 in 6 in a crummy ACC and 4 in 8 overall, hold on, they got to take a sip of water.
56:08
[SPEAKER_05]: We got more.
56:10
[SPEAKER_05]: And his quarterback, get this.
56:12
[SPEAKER_05]: His cornerbacks coach was suspended for violating NCA rules for giving money to a player's family.
56:19
[SPEAKER_05]: This way, you know the game has passed bill by.
56:22
[SPEAKER_05]: You can pay players now, but the game has passed them by so much.
56:25
[SPEAKER_05]: Bill found a way to fuck up cheating.
56:30
[SPEAKER_05]: And he did that.
56:31
[SPEAKER_05]: Every pissed off HBO and Hardknock, but just, you know, not following through on the deal, he pissed off Hulu because he couldn't deal with Hulu for the same type of show, but the team started off two and three.
56:43
[SPEAKER_05]: He backs out of that deal and pisses off another streamer.
56:46
[SPEAKER_05]: His 25 roster, not one team was drafted in the NFL.
56:50
[SPEAKER_05]: Recently, his general manager for North Carolina football, Mike Lombardi was placed on administrative leave by North Carolina,
56:59
[SPEAKER_05]: Allegedly, sexual relationships with football and recruiting person out at C. Chad.
57:05
[SPEAKER_05]: I was Chad was here.
57:06
[SPEAKER_05]: Allegedly, I was very careful.
57:07
[SPEAKER_05]: That his son, deep by the check, is also on Lee for allegedly using drugs and he gave some to a to someone on the team, a young player.
57:18
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, Jesus Christ, I could go on on that here.
57:20
[SPEAKER_05]: But here's along the short of it.
57:22
[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, the Miami, the Miami, the
57:24
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, let me start that over.
57:25
[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, Miami may struggle in 2026.
57:28
[SPEAKER_05]: And yes, some of the games might be really ugly.
57:30
[SPEAKER_05]: But there's two silver linens here to help Miami Dolphins fan sleep at night.
57:33
[SPEAKER_05]: One, Bill Balachak will never break down until his record.
57:37
[SPEAKER_05]: And no, Miami Dolphins off the field issue will ever be a bigger embarrassment than what Bill Balachak has become.
57:43
[SPEAKER_05]: He was once football royalty, he's turned into a punchline and a joke.
57:47
[SPEAKER_05]: Now, his resume still break, and he should have been in the Hallfame this past year.
57:51
[SPEAKER_05]: There is no doubt about that.
57:52
[SPEAKER_05]: But Bill Balachek is as out of place, as a screen door on the submarine at no care line, I'm sorry, and if the sun really does have some problems, I sympathize with that.
58:02
[SPEAKER_05]: But that is just one out of a tsunami of, of, of, of, of, of, of, of, of.
58:06
[SPEAKER_05]: of type of issues he has at North Carolina.
58:09
[SPEAKER_05]: No one of those team will ever hire him again.
58:11
[SPEAKER_05]: All the cheating over the years, all the times he just abused the press and yelled at the press and treated him like they're nothing.
58:18
[SPEAKER_05]: They're running up the score on legends like Joe Gibbs, just to be an asshole for no reason, it's all caught up with Bill.
58:24
[SPEAKER_05]: So I tried to tell you all,
58:27
[SPEAKER_05]: Karma is a bitch, Bill.
58:28
[SPEAKER_05]: I love what East Tennessee state this week.
58:30
[SPEAKER_05]: You're going to need a grandpa and you probably will need it because I don't trust your team.
58:36
[SPEAKER_05]: And for the rest of us, let's enjoy another billball a check free NFL season.
58:43
[SPEAKER_12]: Wow.
58:44
[SPEAKER_06]: Wow.
58:44
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, nice.
58:47
[SPEAKER_06]: Another mic drop, literally a mic drop should now be an M.I.K.E.
58:52
[SPEAKER_06]: In fact, that should be the name of this statement, the mic drop.
58:55
[SPEAKER_06]: That's great.
58:56
[SPEAKER_05]: News to say I'm not a fan.
58:58
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
59:01
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, you're best I try to tell y'all's, when you're going in on people, you don't like that.
59:04
[SPEAKER_06]: You're like the mills.
59:07
[SPEAKER_12]: You didn't even mention Pablo Tory.
59:09
[SPEAKER_12]: Just not.
59:10
[SPEAKER_12]: Look.
59:11
[SPEAKER_12]: He just came down and saw up in the quiet litter thing.
59:13
[SPEAKER_05]: Who I let her think, but he started off with that one, yeah.
59:16
[SPEAKER_05]: Right, the girl, but I was trying to assume for the Pablo story stuff and yeah, I mean for Moose literally those are just off top of my head I'm sure there's more I missed honestly
59:28
[SPEAKER_05]: to go to be continued to be continued to really he was that close to the record I mean he would have got that record lately and even when he got all your from the Patriots people like there's reports I don't know how accurate he turned down their job with the Falcons even if he took the job and they went six games or he still got the record um the fact he's not going to get this record it really it's a sad end to a career like say what you want about I don't mean I see why the cheated it's not whatever
59:53
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, he was six Superbols in the head coach, two as a coordinator.
59:57
[SPEAKER_05]: He was on his way to being that guy.
1:00:00
[SPEAKER_05]: And he still isn't the eyes of some, but I didn't.
1:00:02
[SPEAKER_05]: Nobody thought it would end like this.
1:00:04
[SPEAKER_05]: And it's going to end bad, or I mean, yeah, it's going to end really bad there.
1:00:07
[SPEAKER_05]: He ain't going to make it through this season.
1:00:08
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think honestly.
1:00:10
[SPEAKER_12]: Oh, probably not, probably not.
1:00:12
[SPEAKER_11]: Well, you know, when people come for coach Schuels records, they get got.
1:00:18
[SPEAKER_11]: Well, people come for Oginic Duffy's records.
1:00:20
[SPEAKER_11]: They get got to.
1:00:21
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah.
1:00:21
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
1:00:26
[SPEAKER_06]: Cut his damn hair and everything.
1:00:27
[SPEAKER_06]: Juice, let me in to play it like Samson.
1:00:29
[SPEAKER_06]: He took away every time.
1:00:30
[SPEAKER_05]: I'll say this about the Patriots real quick, about the Patriots.
1:00:33
[SPEAKER_05]: They do have a horseshoe up their ass.
1:00:34
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, last year they caught every break through one.
1:00:37
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
1:00:37
[SPEAKER_05]: First quarter, this game, Sam Darnl gets hurt.
1:00:39
[SPEAKER_05]: He probably ain't coming back.
1:00:40
[SPEAKER_05]: They are.
1:00:41
[SPEAKER_05]: They get every break that there's one imaginable.
1:00:45
[SPEAKER_05]: And just carries over from the air.
1:00:46
[SPEAKER_05]: It seems like.
1:00:47
[SPEAKER_12]: Do locks in the game now.
1:00:48
[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, it's crazy.
1:00:49
[SPEAKER_12]: But what they would tell you might from slide gate and the flate gate, we make our lock.
1:00:55
[SPEAKER_12]: It's exactly right.
1:00:59
[SPEAKER_06]: All hail Mike in the chat.
1:01:02
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, great stuff.
1:01:04
[SPEAKER_06]: Very excited to see the Miami Dolphins kickoff this 20-26 season and the Half-Lee Sully era and Willis.
1:01:11
[SPEAKER_06]: Let's go in with the triumphant.
1:01:12
[SPEAKER_06]: The Half-Lee Sully Willis era.
1:01:15
[SPEAKER_06]: Very excited for that on Sunday.
1:01:17
[SPEAKER_06]: Don't forget Friday, September 11th, as we're remembering what happened in this country.
1:01:22
[SPEAKER_06]: Please also go visit the Fish Tank Apples, Spotify, wherever you're following us, and check out Fish Tank iconic.
1:01:31
[SPEAKER_06]: Got a really cool documentary, the game we needed.
1:01:34
[SPEAKER_06]: 19 different people we spoke with, including J. Fiedler, who was here.
1:01:38
[SPEAKER_06]: John Gruden, Dave Wants that Jason Taylor's Act Thomas on and on it goes.
1:01:43
[SPEAKER_06]: It is so great.
1:01:44
[SPEAKER_06]: Excited for people to hear anyway.
1:01:47
[SPEAKER_11]: You know, I know we got, you got a little more work on it, be done before, you know, for Friday.
1:01:53
[SPEAKER_11]: I'm going to get that seat before anybody else.
1:01:55
[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
1:01:55
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I sent you, so there it is.
1:01:59
[SPEAKER_06]: You have a burden of it.
1:02:01
[SPEAKER_06]: You have the most up-to-date version.
1:02:02
[SPEAKER_06]: You want the final final.
1:02:04
[SPEAKER_11]: Yep, because we get it.
1:02:05
[SPEAKER_06]: It might be a two-thirds of the morning.
1:02:07
[SPEAKER_11]: I'll take it.
1:02:09
[SPEAKER_11]: I got a flight Friday morning.
1:02:10
[SPEAKER_11]: So I'll be perfect to list tomorrow on my flight.
1:02:13
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
1:02:13
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, Friday morning, the goal, if I do my job is, I don't want to hear it.
1:02:19
[SPEAKER_05]: No, it's good or bad.
1:02:23
[SPEAKER_06]: You want to kick it off and want to clock no matter what.
1:02:26
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, it's the same thing.
1:02:28
[SPEAKER_11]: Like Bill Belichick said, do your job.
1:02:30
[SPEAKER_11]: That's what you're just.
1:02:31
[SPEAKER_11]: That's that mini job.
1:02:32
[SPEAKER_11]: You got.
1:02:33
[SPEAKER_11]: I know.
1:02:33
[SPEAKER_11]: I got you.
1:02:35
[SPEAKER_06]: I've got too many, but I will say this, and, you know, Perk has been telling I'm a dolphin stories for an entire career and done a wonderful job of it, and there's so many great storytellers, but I feel like so many of the stories of the past.
1:02:51
[SPEAKER_06]: disappear if they don't get preserved in some way shape or form and the big stories continue to get told.
1:02:57
[SPEAKER_06]: So when we created the iconic concept, everyone thought I was going to do the 85 Bears Game or the clock game or you know and those are iconic moments in this team's history but they are chronicle and they are told often as they should be.
1:03:09
[SPEAKER_06]: But there are these other moments that I think are spectacular moments.
1:03:13
[SPEAKER_06]: And you can see the way fans respond to them.
1:03:16
[SPEAKER_06]: And I think this is one of them.
1:03:17
[SPEAKER_06]: And the fact that it wasn't just an exciting game, but it was so meaningful to the starting quarterback to all of the players.
1:03:26
[SPEAKER_06]: I think you'll hear from our players and how they felt that they kind of carried a responsibility into that stadium that day for everybody who was there.
1:03:36
[SPEAKER_06]: And the way that game was interwoven with what was happening in our country, that shouldn't just be a blip on looking at dolphins all time records and just seeing that they won that game 18 to 15.
1:03:50
[SPEAKER_06]: Like that, there should be something more there.
1:03:53
[SPEAKER_06]: And hopefully this serves that purpose.
1:03:57
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, absolutely, man.
1:03:58
[SPEAKER_11]: Yep, like I said, I'm living for it too.
1:04:00
[SPEAKER_11]: It's, it's, it's, it's so good.
1:04:02
[SPEAKER_11]: It's very great, listen, especially living now here in South Florida, you know, you getting your car and you got to drive, man.
1:04:08
[SPEAKER_11]: It's going to be a great listen.
1:04:09
[SPEAKER_11]: You're probably going to be late for work because you're going to sit there and listen to it.
1:04:13
[SPEAKER_11]: It's a long one now.
1:04:14
[SPEAKER_11]: You're going to listen more of it, man, because it's really, it really is that good.
1:04:18
[SPEAKER_11]: And that little snippet that we got.
1:04:21
[SPEAKER_11]: Man, it's a great snippet, but you said me so many amazing ones, man.
1:04:26
[SPEAKER_11]: So I mean, honestly, we talked about the play in the game on that piece.
1:04:33
[SPEAKER_11]: Mm-hmm.
1:04:34
[SPEAKER_11]: That's got it all the way back to the decision.
1:04:37
[SPEAKER_11]: like when it happened decision by the league, how the coaches and players and everybody was handling it, you know, all the way up through that game through that piece we just heard, man.
1:04:47
[SPEAKER_11]: And it's like it's absolutely incredible what went into it and the thought process and the meetings and the phone calls and everything that went into it, it's it's it's so good.
1:04:58
[SPEAKER_11]: And I can't wait for everybody here to hold peace.
1:05:00
[SPEAKER_06]: I appreciate that juice and look I mean there were there were 31 teams not 32 teams that that was that there were only 31 teams in the league that the Texans didn't exist yet or they weren't playing games I don't think until the following season, but so there were I want to say 14 NFL cities that were hosting games that weekend
1:05:20
[SPEAKER_06]: And so the Dolphins, every team, every individual has their own 9-11 story, but you know, NFL weekend story then, but the Dolphins, the SI cover, the starting quarterback being in the native New Yorker, and Trace Armstrong was the president of the NFL PA.
1:05:41
[SPEAKER_06]: So he and this piece talks about, that's exactly, you know, that's what Chusey's
1:05:48
[SPEAKER_06]: hold a meeting, you know, with all of the player reps and they come to a decision as to whether or not they want to play just all of those different layers to this thing and then how in the world does do the scheduling gods line it up that we're opening with the Raiders and that's who the opponent was, you know, 25 years ago.
1:06:06
[SPEAKER_06]: So really cool stuff for people who appreciate football nostalgia and storytelling and, you know, and hopefully
1:06:17
[SPEAKER_06]: case, not even close, not even close with their first floor.
1:06:22
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, appreciate everybody.
1:06:23
[SPEAKER_06]: Everybody who was in the chat, everybody who decided, yeah, we can watch NFL football and still check out the fish tank.
1:06:29
[SPEAKER_06]: And if you're not watching this live, but you're now rewatching this, we still appreciate that you came back to see this and J. Fiedler and everything else.
1:06:37
[SPEAKER_06]: So thanks to the crew here and and juice, it's about that time, man.
1:06:42
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, first and foremost,
1:06:45
[SPEAKER_11]: You know, everybody, please on Friday, check out this piece.
1:06:52
[SPEAKER_11]: It really is gonna, it's gonna, it's a tear jerk, honestly, man, I'm not, well, I guess I am a crybaby sometimes, but you know, you're gonna really, really reflect on that moment.
1:07:03
[SPEAKER_11]: big time you're gonna really reflect on it you know it's all fans we're gonna reflect on that game somewhat but for more the bigger picture right big set talking about man but anyhow for tonight though you guys never really appreciate you thanks to that
1:07:41
[SPEAKER_10]: and we don't even have a minute of rest time.
