Latest / KSEV Mornings with Craig and Wayne / The Shane Gillis SNL Uproar, and the Mob Guys Pitch a Paxton Sit-Down
Transcript
- 0:21You can actually go to your computer right now and you can pull up
- 0:30Wayne in his lovely office and Craig in that disgusting rug that's on the wall and a reflection
- 0:42of a mirror and a bunch of fluorescent lights.
- 0:44You know what's funny is I don't think we've actually sent an internal email yet about
- 0:49your dislike of the rug, but everybody knows.
- 0:52No, I know they do.
- 0:54And look, it's not even that it's a rug.
- 0:57It's just ugly.
- 0:58It's terrible.
- 0:59I'm going to buy y'all a new sign. Okay, so you don't have to go to Hobby Lobby
- 1:06Or Michaels
- 1:08Look, to defend KSEV and Tad, I bet you when they made all this they didn't really expect a lot of video
- 1:15I bet you that wasn't an expectation
- 1:17Totally cuz I someone who did radio like the beginning of my career right?
- 1:21I I remember like it didn't matter like I would I didn't have to wear underwear
- 1:26Yeah, right do whatever you want to buy shot could do whatever I want right I
- 1:30Have admitted that I did radio naked a few times. I think yeah to give up people a visual
- 1:36Imagine that you mentioned if we had video then in my hotel room doing a live shot at 4 o'clock in the morning and standing up
- 1:44And fire for radio and and it's just me, you know
- 1:49Lay in there. Yeah
- 1:50Yeah.
- 1:51In the back.
- 1:53James Talarico understands.
- 1:55He does.
- 1:55He understands all that.
- 1:57And I understand that affordability to Democrats means giving people a bunch of stuff they
- 2:03shouldn't get.
- 2:06And no matter how much it costs, no matter how expensive it is, like he said, I want
- 2:11to put back the Obamacare subsidies.
- 2:16What is a subsidy?
- 2:18A subsidy is when you, me, and all our listeners pay money so someone else can get some crappy
- 2:28health insurance that they never even use.
- 2:32That's overly expensive still.
- 2:34From insurance companies that are literally screwing over.
- 2:42They're making billions.
- 2:44See, this is where I do get on the corporation, right?
- 2:46We need to give people money for health insurance and say buy it from Vinnie Boombots.
- 2:54We don't care what you get health insurance, right?
- 2:59And that health insurance companies compete across state lines and that'll bring down
- 3:03prices.
- 3:04If you've ever looked at the actual Obamacare stuff, the deductibles on those plans are
- 3:10ridiculous.
- 3:10And that usually means that even though you have health care, a lot of those deductibles
- 3:15or ones that you have to pay until anything actually kicks in.
- 3:19So they're still overly expensive for people that probably can't afford to use it.
- 3:23No, look, so my daughter who's getting married in March, congratulations, is too old now
- 3:29to be on my insurance.
- 3:31And so for this is Bridge Window where she went on Obamacare, just a bridge until she
- 3:37gets her new gig.
- 3:38She called me and said, this is like the most horrible insurance policy ever.
- 3:44They don't want to pay for anything.
- 3:47They don't want to do anything.
- 3:49I'll have to spend $10,000 before they'll even give me a dollar because that's just
- 3:54the reality.
- 3:56Look, do we need to fix health insurance in this country and make it more affordable and
- 4:02give people more choices to get the kind of insurance they want?
- 4:09Can Republicans do it?
- 4:11Well, we haven't shown that we can.
- 4:12I don't know why sometimes we don't we were afraid to argue what we believe
- 4:19We don't want insurance companies to know we don't want people taking advantage of we don't and and Trump has said multiple times
- 4:28that if health care providers had to publicly post their prices that it would help people and also having a direct version of
- 4:37instead of it being you know health insurance that goes through a
- 4:40insurance company, I can actually directly spend money toward a doctor.
- 4:46I can actually have a direct relationship and the money goes into an HSA or something
- 4:50that works differently.
- 4:51That's right.
- 4:52And then all of their prices are public, which means I don't get screwed over if I pick the
- 4:56wrong doctor because I didn't use my insurance correctly or something.
- 4:59There's ways to fix this and there's conservative thoughts about it for sure.
- 5:04By the way, I'll throw out the phone number because we have been getting a lot of calls
- 5:06today.
- 5:07Oh, yeah.
- 5:07281-558-573.
- 5:10You got more calls?
- 5:11You got calls hungry?
- 5:11No, no, no.
- 5:12281-558-5738 if you want to call in.
- 5:15You wanted to get someone to call?
- 5:16I have a friend.
- 5:17No, I just figured.
- 5:18We didn't give out the phone at all in the first hour and we got calls and I know you
- 5:22were enjoying them, so 281-558-5738.
- 5:25I enjoyed them.
- 5:27I didn't mean to step on you.
- 5:28I enjoyed them because when the first guy went to calling us names because we don't
- 5:36agree with them, which is what I hear in my office almost every day.
- 5:42You've been here enough to know that I say things and I'm either a colonizer, I'm a colonizer,
- 5:52I mean, my family came here from Italy in the 20s, right?
- 5:55And I'm blamed for the Civil War.
- 5:57I don't know how that works.
- 5:58Okay, so I get that all the time. We've but we've also got to start
- 6:06Recrafting a message because it's I don't even like make America great again
- 6:13I would say keep America great. Yeah, right. It's like keep off the grass. They will
- 6:19systematically
- 6:21Destroy what we have built because they fundamentally don't like us
- 6:27They think, and not to be racial, they think the white guy, like you and I, we have privilege,
- 6:35right?
- 6:36We go into a place and they go, hey, some white guys, right?
- 6:39That's what they think.
- 6:41That's really what they think.
- 6:42I'm serious.
- 6:43I have people on my staff that think that.
- 6:48They like the fact that that's over.
- 6:52And I don't care.
- 6:53So keeping America great, the fact that we've allowed them to co-opt it, to make us much
- 6:59a racist, we just want...
- 7:02Look, you could come over here with pink and yellow zebra polka dot stripes.
- 7:08And if you can work your butt off and make it, God bless you.
- 7:14Have a good time.
- 7:14That's the American dream.
- 7:16That's all we want.
- 7:17I think it's interesting you brought up the white guy and the conservative being crapped
- 7:21on everywhere because Shane Gillis is involved in a bit of a controversy.
- 7:25I don't know if you know about this.
- 7:26He did the monologue on Saturday Night Live and no one almost ever talks about Saturday
- 7:31Night Live, but now I'm watching it on all the major news organizations.
- 7:36I missed it.
- 7:36What happened?
- 7:37Well, he made a joke about women at the gym.
- 7:40One of the jokes in his monologue is that women, and the word he chose was they dress
- 7:44like whores.
- 7:45They dress very, very provocatively at the gym.
- 7:48He's 100% right about it.
- 7:50Nobody's ever said that.
- 7:51And actually, what's so funny is Jimmy Kimmel has made that joke before, and apparently
- 7:55that's okay, but Shane Gillis making it has caused a crazy uproar from people that are
- 8:01angry on the left.
- 8:04And it's really interesting to me because had Shane Gillis, who's a white guy, made
- 8:09fun of white men, it doesn't matter what he said, there would never be uproar.
- 8:14But if you make fun of women, if you make fun of minorities, if you make fun of anyone
- 8:18else and especially in this case with the gym thing being a hundred percent
- 8:22accurate I go to the gym occasionally here in Texas. Yeah, you can tell I go a lot too.
- 8:28I don't go as much as I should and like there are ladies there that they don't want you to look at them
- 8:33but they also seem like they've dressed in a way where they want everybody to
- 8:37look well they want to get mad when you look at them because it gives them even
- 8:40more attention. Yeah because we're what do we call it victimizing? What's that word we use? Exploiting?
- 8:46Yeah, they're the victim.
- 8:48They're always extroverted.
- 8:49And if you tell a woman she looks nice today,
- 8:50you're exploiting her.
- 8:52Well, it's misogyny is what they're saying about this joke.
- 8:55That's us.
- 8:55Which is crazy.
- 8:57We're like the massage.
- 8:58We should just change the show from the mob guys
- 9:00to the misogyny hour.
- 9:03We can play the clip when we come back.
- 9:05We'll get to Sharon's call.
- 9:06I see Sharon's on hold now, so we'll get to her.
- 9:08I will do a bit right here on the Voice of Texas KSEV radio.
- 9:11So my wife off air and Wayne was like, turn the volume up,
- 9:15turn the volume up.
- 9:15I got you, turn the volume up.
- 9:17I was responding to a text message off air from my wife
- 9:20and Wayne's like, does your wife like me?
- 9:22And yes, is the answer.
- 9:23She thinks you're very funny.
- 9:24And she just said that she would enjoy misogyny hour.
- 9:27Yeah, I think we should do misogyny hour.
- 9:29Right up.
- 9:30Look, I think it is disgusting that you and I, hetero guys,
- 9:37I am 100% hetero.
- 9:40I appreciate a beautiful woman.
- 9:44As do I.
- 9:44And and I am ashamed of myself
- 9:49I think, I think, yeah, we're not right. You are disgusting. I call it [unclear],
- 9:56that you decided that we like women.
- 10:00It's terrible.
- 10:01And I don't know what is wrong with you
- 10:04that you can't just be open-minded, right?
- 10:08And honestly, it's like when Talarico says he cries
- 10:10about his own whiteness, like where we weep
- 10:12at the fact that we're 100% heterosexual.
- 10:15Where was that question?
- 10:16Where was that question last night?
- 10:17I don't know.
- 10:18Like why in the world, what idiot would wake up
- 10:22and cry about your whiteness?
- 10:24Because they're white.
- 10:24When I wake up in the morning, first of all, I'm not a white guy.
- 10:27I'm an olive skin guy, right?
- 10:29But Italians aren't white.
- 10:31So I wake up in the morning
- 10:33and the first thing I do in the morning,
- 10:34you know what I do?
- 10:35What's that?
- 10:36I look in the mirror and I go,
- 10:38thank you Jesus for making me white.
- 10:43Is that what they think we do?
- 10:45I don't know.
- 10:45That's a very common joke though.
- 10:47I've heard that before, although it's been years
- 10:50since people were willing to make that joke publicly.
- 10:52Like in countries and stuff.
- 10:53What are they afraid of?
- 10:54I don't know.
- 10:55Here, let's get, we got a couple calls now.
- 10:56Let's get Sharon on first
- 10:58who wants to talk about Ken Paxton sharing what he wants to talk about.
- 11:01Hi, I'd like to respond to what Dale was talking about. He made the whole main issue of his
- 11:08call about why Paxton's not campaigning. And I've heard that all over national media.
- 11:16That's what they're pumping. And I have to say, there's an element in the politicians up in DC
- 11:25who do not want Paxton. So the NR, that is called National Republican Congressional
- 11:33Committee, NRCC, they're the ones that distribute all the campaign money and so
- 11:39they did not distribute any campaign money for Paxton. All here and they're
- 11:46still not giving you any and the only reason he has it is because Trump and
- 11:49Elon Musk and you know they've come out... He's got money.
- 11:53Wait, wait, wait. [unclear]
- 11:55I think that he's got money.
- 11:59That's not the problem. The money is not the problem for Paxton.
- 12:04Well, I don't believe that. I believe, from the sources I've been
- 12:08listening to, you know, the big
- 12:10[unclear].
- 12:11I believe that it is a fact that the NRCC would not give him any
- 12:16money
- 12:17and the Bush crowd. Well, actually, I want to get back
- 12:21to Sharon and I want to explain that a little bit better because I agree with you that I
- 12:25think there are establishment Republicans, rhino, sure, you want to call them that would
- 12:29not want a Ken Paxton would have wanted a Cornyn to win. Sure. They also don't usually
- 12:33flood money into Texas because they don't believe that Texas is a legitimate race in
- 12:38which a Democrat has a shot to win. Usually money is not flooded to the degree that it's
- 12:42being flooded right now. There are a lot of people saying that spending on Texas is actually
- 12:47hurting Republican chances in other places because we usually don't have to do it.
- 12:52And one of those issues, and I think this is the fairest one to put at Paxton's feet,
- 12:57he's not a great razor of money himself.
- 13:00He's not a great at getting people to write him checks.
- 13:02I don't think he's been truly great at that for most of his career.
- 13:06He's really good at the work.
- 13:07He does the work well.
- 13:09He doesn't raise the money well.
- 13:11So on his own, he didn't raise enough of it.
- 13:13And usually the checks weren't being written to Texas because they're not used to these
- 13:17races or they're not supposed to be this close.
- 13:19Wayne, what do you want to say?
- 13:20Well, I was just going to say, I think the money thing is an overblown thing.
- 13:25Uh, one thing you could say about James Talarico last night is not
- 13:28only did he do it, right?
- 13:31And sure it was friendly, but, but there were Republicans in the audience.
- 13:35After he did it, he stayed around and shook hands like a politician does, you
- 13:40know, kissing babies and shaking hands still works.
- 13:43You meet a candidate.
- 13:44And sometimes I met candidates who I didn't know and I talked to him for 30 seconds and I walked away going what a slob
- 13:51That guy is right. So right, you know
- 13:54Any of you got for companies of the radio and you go
- 13:58Lost opportunity. Yeah
- 14:00Look there are opportunities in races to tell people what you believe
- 14:08yes, and
- 14:10and not just assume that a lot of people who are not engaged in politics, probably not
- 14:16as engaged as you are, or call her, right?
- 14:20They're not as engaged as her.
- 14:22But those are the people you got to get to come on your side.
- 14:25Those are.
- 14:26That's it.
- 14:27Well, and honestly, and Wayne, you said this before, and thank you, Sharon, for the call.
- 14:30Before you said that he could have a platform if he wants one, and you're right about that,
- 14:34I remember something about the Trump campaign in 2024 that was so effective was landing
- 14:40on these podcasts. The young 20 something podcast guy who has a big young 20 something
- 14:46guy audience and Trump was all over at the Theo Vons of the world and I think it
- 14:51really benefited him and Paxton could be finding his Texas version of some of that or getting
- 14:58a guy like Wayne Dolcefino with his own media presence and company to do one of these interviews
- 15:03that could go viral. That's really all he needs more so than trying to get an ABC or
- 15:08a CBS or a CNN outside of Fox News to actually talk to him.
- 15:13Yeah. And a lot of times I think Trump who understands our business very well,
- 15:19yeah. Right. We'll throw a grenade into the soup because he knows that's what's
- 15:27going to get attention.
- 15:28Sure. But then people will then want to go to find the speech online to see if the
- 15:34headline in the clip is actually what he really meant or what did he say before and after.
- 15:40In the social media world now, you don't have to even worry like in Houston whether if you
- 15:46have a press conference in channel 13 and two and 11, probably don't even come.
- 15:51They don't even come because they have one guy working for all three stations who they
- 15:57pay to go shoot it and then it doesn't even get used because they don't like politics
- 16:01in local TV.
- 16:02Right?
- 16:04And so if you do that, if you think about it that way, there are so many places for
- 16:09Ken Paxton to sit where it will be tough but fair.
- 16:12And I invite him every day.
- 16:15And like I said, I'm willing to do, I shouldn't say this because this is bad for business.
- 16:20I do it for free.
- 16:21That is bad.
- 16:22Let's just sit down and talk about it because I think Ken Paxton will be a better senator
- 16:29for my value.
- 16:30Of course.
- 16:31Yeah, we definitely believe that.
- 16:32We got even a close call.
- 16:33Yeah, not even close call.
- 16:34We have more calls.
- 16:35We will go to Michael.
- 16:37Michael wants to chime in.
- 16:38What do you want to say, Michael?
- 16:41Yeah, I was just wondering as far as Paxton versus Talarico.
- 16:45Yes.
- 16:45Their fiscal assessment.
- 16:47I mean, it seems when we're talking about money, money for Texans, what is the difference
- 16:54between Paxton versus Talarico as far as bringing in or saving Texas money.
- 17:02What do you mean by it? Can you give me a little bit? One of the big things I think
- 17:07in the world of how either of them would impact the economics of Texas would be
- 17:11their stance on oil and gas just personally. And taxes. And taxes.
- 17:16Talarico does also support an income tax in this state but what do you mean
- 17:21beyond that. I don't know if you're asking a question where you have your
- 17:25own answer to it. Do you have your own answer to this or is this just an open
- 17:28question? Well, doesn't Talarico have like a 30% score on his vote as far as his fiscal
- 17:38record versus, you know, like Paxton. I mean, I know he claims 5.1 billion in
- 17:45savings and 552 million have actually put him even put into the general fund.
- 17:52Well, I mean, I think he has a career F 30% score since 25. And a lot of it is also just because of
- 17:59spending, to be honest, Talarico supports a whole lot more spending for the
- 18:03Sure.
- 18:04Than Paxton does. Go ahead, Wayne.
- 18:06Yeah, look, we want affordability, right? So, hey, all you fools out there,
- 18:11You will elect these Democrats your taxes are going up
- 18:16Period end of story. Yes, you are voting against your own
- 18:21affordability
- 18:22Self-interest, right if you can't figure out that this Iran war is not going to be a forever war
- 18:29That one way or the other after the election. We're either gonna kick their arse, right?
- 18:34or we're going to cut a deal.
- 18:36Talarico said we should end the war.
- 18:38Look, I love this surrender campaign.
- 18:42We should honor the sacrifice of our troops
- 18:48by just saying, Iran, we're going to leave.
- 18:51We're going to pull out of the Middle East
- 18:53and we trust you to not charge people for oil
- 18:59And we trust you to spread the love of the profit all over the area.
- 19:08Yeah, and I can give two specifics because I think that is part of what the caller is asking for.
- 19:13So there was the death tax, if you remember. I think this was a 2025 argument that once someone
- 19:20passes away when they hand over their money, when they send everything they made over their lives
- 19:25to their relatives, to their family members, there was a bill that would try to tax all
- 19:30that money a second time, even though it's already money that you paid taxes on.
- 19:34Talarico absolutely supported secondary taxes on inherited wealth. He also very much supported
- 19:40income taxes in the state of Texas and tried multiple times, either voting yes or no to
- 19:46individual bills, to open that door to where we would have a state income tax that would
- 19:51hit every single one of us. Two of the biggest reasons that I think Texans for
- 19:55fiscal responsibility give him an F
- 19:57Our willingness to vote to harm those who inherit money,
- 20:01the willingness to harm anyone in the state via an income tax that doesn't exist.
- 20:05And one of the biggest reasons that people like me who live other places
- 20:08are so excited to move to Texas is the fact that I don't have to pay the state any money.
- 20:12Like that is one of the nice ones that you think about when you get here.
- 20:15It's not the only one, but he wants that to go away.
- 20:19Yeah, let's make life more affordable.
- 20:22Let's elect the people that want me to pay more in taxes.
- 20:25I think I just did my IRS thing late.
- 20:29I had to save $60,000.
- 20:33I had to pay $60,000 more on my taxes.
- 20:38And when I do that, I want to come on the radio with you and sort of shake everybody
- 20:45who is within the sound of my voice to ask, what the hell are you thinking?
- 20:53I like that.
- 20:53Michael, does that answer the question better?
- 20:54Are you still there?
- 20:57Okay.
- 20:58Does that give you a more definitive answer
- 20:59to what you were looking for?
- 21:01Yeah, I mean, we keep talking about social issues,
- 21:04but when it comes to what really affects,
- 21:09at least me, it affects most people.
- 21:12It is money.
- 21:13Yeah.
- 21:14And, you know, Paxton managed to bring some money,
- 21:19he managed to bring money back to Texas.
- 21:21And it just seems to me that Talarico is promising to spend more money and more tax
- 21:27dollars versus.
- 21:29Amen.
- 21:30No, it's.
- 21:31Thank you very much for the call.
- 21:32But he's just crystallizing what I've been arguing.
- 21:36The closing message has to in part be to use all this CNN stuff he said to then show you
- 21:44his voting record.
- 21:45Yes.
- 21:46Right?
- 21:46Pick two or three of you think the most indicative of Democrats who have never seen a tax dollar
- 21:54they don't want to spend somewhere.
- 21:56Yeah.
- 21:56But also it does two things.
- 22:00One, it reminds people, number two, it gets into the fight over his authenticity.
- 22:09Because last night he was not being authentic about what he actually believes.
- 22:18Yes, 100%.
- 22:19He is not being authentic about what he believes.
- 22:21He's not doing that on CNN.
- 22:23He's not doing that in his commercials right now.
- 22:27He is flip-flopping.
- 22:27I don't blame him.
- 22:28He's flip-flopping in the 11th hour and he's expecting people are stupid enough to go with
- 22:32it.
- 22:33We got to take a break.
- 22:34A lot coming up.
- 22:35KSEV Radio, the voice of Texas.
- 22:36It's the voice of Texas.
- 22:38We are the mob guys. I am Craig Coglianese. He is Wayne Dolcefino
- 22:43I think we're just gonna start saying it publicly too because we're coming up with a great idea
- 22:47What we want is a half an hour sit-down
- 22:51Ken Paxton Wayne Dolcefino at your office or wherever I guess we can make you go to him
- 22:56I'm gonna Austin. Okay, there we go. Wherever wherever he is
- 22:59You'll go we set up cameras. We got microphones
- 23:03We do the whole thing and we air the entirety of the conversation right here on KSEV radio Wayne Dolcefino
- 23:09Ken Paxton one-on-one it would be awesome. Yeah, look and look
- 23:15He knows that I'm gonna ask him all the questions that he knows the media wants to ask him
- 23:21Yeah, yeah, you have a chance even the worst question
- 23:25You have a chance like people call me all the time reporters like the Galveston Daily News
- 23:30They hate me like left-wing freaks
- 23:34I am and on the front page of the Galveston Daily News more than child monsters
- 23:39Okay, wow, and so they call me and it's always a gotcha phone call
- 23:44Sure. Now a lot of people will say I'm not gonna answer Galveston Daily News little vote
- 23:50No, tell them I'm busy right? I always pick up the phone. That's awesome. I will always
- 23:55fight them and tell them that I think they're freaks.
- 24:00They don't put a lot of what I say in the newspaper,
- 24:04but I record the calls, so someday I may just do it
- 24:08just for entertainment's sake.
- 24:10But you've got to engage.
- 24:13Look, reporters ask stupid questions.
- 24:16There's a lot of people that are reporters
- 24:18that are just spies for one side of the political aisle.
- 24:21But you've got to be prepared to at least look like you're willing to take questions.
- 24:30Yes.
- 24:31If you can't argue, like I get to advocate my positions all day long.
- 24:37I believe what I think, what I say, you've got to be prepared to defend it.
- 24:44Yeah.
- 24:44No, amen.
- 24:45I think that it would be great if we could do it.
- 24:47And we would do the entire thing here on the radio, the entire thing through your media
- 24:51company. You have the fancy cameras. You have the nice office so he could go to you. You
- 24:55could go to him. We could make it happen. And we could have [unclear]. We could do it
- 25:00on the couch. We could have Ken Paxton, [unclear], and then maybe put a little mob guys
- 25:09in the KSEV logo. Well, and the big part of this and the thing I think we've been talking
- 25:16about, Talarico, of course, for anybody that hasn't been listening to the show and just
- 25:19tuning in now on CNN last night for like the town hall that did not challenge him enough.
- 25:25Did he come off in a way that probably benefits him?
- 25:29Did he come off like an eloquent guy?
- 25:30Yeah, he did.
- 25:31We'll both admit it.
- 25:33But I think that there were multiple opportunities where people did not ask him questions that
- 25:37he should have been asked.
- 25:38There's another thing we were talking about.
- 25:39I sent a clip to Russell and he's got it.
- 25:42He's ready to go.
- 25:43It's CBS's reaction.
- 25:45Now what's so funny about this, and it includes Shane Gillis' actual joke, the standup comedian,
- 25:49And just to set the table, Shane Gillis has now hosted SNL three times.
- 25:54He was hired and fired by that place for something he tweeted out
- 25:58before he was even remotely famous.
- 26:00One of those things.
- 26:01So he was hired as a writer.
- 26:02They fired him before he started.
- 26:04So it was a big deal when he finally hosted the show, because, you know,
- 26:08SNL was acknowledging they made a mistake and that he's famous and
- 26:12and valuable enough to be there.
- 26:14And every time he's done it, the left has been mad.
- 26:17And now this time the left is more mad than ever.
- 26:20Good.
- 26:21Yeah, right.
- 26:21Because of a joke that Shane made.
- 26:22And I kind of think Shane's doing it on purpose.
- 26:25But here's CBS mornings talking about the controversy and then playing Shane's joke.
- 26:32Also, I haven't been in the gym in so long.
- 26:33I didn't know women just dress like whores now.
- 26:37Nervous laughter greeted comedian Shane Gillis after he made this joke on Saturday Night Live.
- 26:43And don't look.
- 26:44You're not allowed to look.
- 26:45For real don't look because they are filming.
- 26:47I'm in the background of like 10 TikToks right now.
- 26:52Now he's in the background of even more.
- 26:55Social media immediately announced, including celebrities like former SNL
- 26:59cast member Ego Nwodim, singer Maren Morris and actor Dan Levy.
- 27:05Women wearing shorts, shorts.
- 27:07The gym does not make them whores.
- 27:09I can stop it. You can stop it.
- 27:11The funniest thing about Dan Levy specifically, because he was one of the
- 27:14bigger names that went out there and that's the guy who's he's the gay son
- 27:17writer of Schitt's Creek which is a real TV show I just say a bad word yeah he on
- 27:24his own television show had one of his characters make jokes about how hoary
- 27:28women dressed at the gym one of the the female mom characters would make jokes
- 27:33about that so Dan Levy has made the same joke and things that he's written but
- 27:38he's allowed to do it. Shane Gillis is not.
- 27:41Well, but we lost our sense of humor. And you know, I came from like the all in the family
- 27:47Archie Bunker generation, right? And we made fun of everybody because it's funny.
- 27:54It's called a joke, right? It's same thing with Trump. Trump will say a lot of things
- 28:02that is like he feels when he's in front of a crowd, he just feels like he's a stand-up comedian.
- 28:08that he wants to like tell a joke and like me,
- 28:13he doesn't really care whether you think
- 28:16it's appropriate or not.
- 28:18I can't keep up with all the whining of people
- 28:23that if I say, gee, you look really pretty, right?
- 28:28Like I don't compliment the men in my office
- 28:30when they get dressed.
- 28:31No, here's the stuff that people don't talk about
- 28:33and pretend isn't true anymore.
- 28:34Men and women are different.
- 28:36Men are, I know it's shocking Wayne,
- 28:39men are more visual people.
- 28:41I know a lot of women that say the biggest reason
- 28:43they like some guy is not what he looks like,
- 28:46but how he treats her or something.
- 28:48There are a lot of guys I know who their favorite thing
- 28:50about their current girlfriend is what she looks like.
- 28:53It just happens to be the way that people behave.
- 28:56I'm glad the robots are gonna take over
- 28:58and we'll just be told who we can have sex with
- 29:01because it's getting a little too complicated.
- 29:03No, but and to be honest even further,
- 29:05What's kind of amazing about this like I think I have a finger on why this happens
- 29:10Why there are people I know
- 29:12Young women that I know younger women 30s 40s 20s a couple that are rather attractive
- 29:18mostly like mid 30s
- 29:20That are so mad at the way that they feel that men treat them like objects that instead of just objectifying
- 29:27Right instead of just like complaining about that
- 29:30They purposefully dress provocatively to go to a place to be hit on to be mad
- 29:36They set the scenario on purpose so that it can reinforce their anger and let them let it out
- 29:42I think we all need a better way to release
- 29:46Whatever our anger is then trying to find somebody to fight with because that's it's really what it is
- 29:51They're trying to find some dude probably a guy they don't find attractive because he was attractive
- 29:56They'll probably let it go, but if he's not attractive
- 29:58if they want to yell at him and fight with him in public and let that be a thing.
- 30:02Yeah I was looking up the definition of objectifying is to treat a person as a thing, tool or physical
- 30:11object rather than as a complete human being with their own thoughts, feelings, rights
- 30:18and agency.
- 30:19Yeah.
- 30:20That's way too deep for me.
- 30:21I gotta be honest.
- 30:22Maybe I'm just a boomer but I see a good looking woman.
- 30:23I'm not looking at her without saying, I don't care what she thinks.
- 30:33I just think she's hot.
- 30:35One of my favorite, I remember this from a few years ago.
- 30:38It was a college friend of mine who's a very attractive woman
- 30:40I one of my favorite posts I ever saw on Facebook was when she admitted that she got mad at some dude for taking a picture
- 30:46In public she was walking by she was probably dressed in a in an awesome outfit one that Wayne and I would enjoy and
- 30:52The guy took a photo and she says publicly that she went crazy about it
- 30:56And then she realized his family was behind her and he was taking a photo of his family
- 31:02Already not her and I was like it is amazing that you're putting this out there publicly
- 31:07Because she was the type of person that was so self-obsessed that everything was about her
- 31:11And again, she was attractive so probably was something you and I are clearly not deep enough
- 31:18Okay, we are animals
- 31:22We both have been infected with toxic masculinity. Yeah
- 31:27Maybe me a little more than you know, there are stories about there's newspaper stories
- 31:32All right. So yeah, there are a lot of newspaper stories. So I don't understand what the hell happened
- 31:40that I'm not allowed to like make a
- 31:43Judgment about whether or not I think a woman's attractive because I'm not like
- 31:48Recognizing that I don't know what's going on in your personal world. You're not about psychology nonsense
- 31:55You're not allowed to be a guy to be to be honest
- 31:57There's a lot of things out there in the reaction to this right now where I'm watching some dudes
- 32:01because I do have a TikTok and actually I've been putting some of our clips on TikTok and they're not doing that bad
- 32:06For an account that doesn't really have a lot of followers. Yeah, they're like getting a couple thousand views
- 32:11And so what I think is really interesting about it is I'm seeing a lot of the dudes out there
- 32:15Who are complaining about Shane Gillis and they're the type of guy you'd probably expect them to be they're not really
- 32:22You know the kind of dude that's comfortable being a guy
- 32:26They act more like a girl and I know that's horrible to say or whatever you are
- 32:30I can't you add this this narrow mind the beta male is what they call them
- 32:36And I don't know what the goal is there outside of maybe making women like your opinion
- 32:42Because I think the guys who are pretending they don't find this funny because I think by and large most dudes probably find this funny
- 32:48The guys that don't are saying that you know what I'm trying to make the women like me more by agreeing with them
- 32:54Yeah, look I don't care if the women don't like me because I'm a guy
- 33:01There's a lot of fish in the sea.
- 33:04There's a lot of fish in the sea.
- 33:04And so, look, this goes to one of my themes of my life,
- 33:11is that we have become a society that needs shrinks.
- 33:17I'll be honest with you, if you're, when I was single,
- 33:21if you were a beautiful woman, I did look at you and
- 33:25objectify you as a beautiful woman.
- 33:28I didn't think to myself, I wonder what's going on with her family life.
- 33:32Well, you know what's also funny about that?
- 33:34If I see you in a Target and you're dressed in the tightest little short pants and a crop
- 33:40top shirt and you're attractive, I am going to look at you.
- 33:44But if you're dressed in a hoodie, you're disgusting.
- 33:49It's terrible.
- 33:50We have Bart on the phone.
- 33:51I don't know what he wants to say.
- 33:52I think it's about married couples.
- 33:53Bart, what do you want to say?
- 33:55I just saw a thing reporting the record low number of married traditional couples in America now.
- 34:02Did you see that?
- 34:05I mean, it's so long these women have said, we don't want men, we don't need men, we don't even like men.
- 34:09And the men said, you're right. We don't either. We don't like you girls either.
- 34:13And I think they're just saying, forget it.
- 34:16Yeah. Well, you know what's really sad about that, Bart?
- 34:19I've seen another stat that says something like 60 70 percent of young women say they're in a relationship and only 30 percent of guys
- 34:26Do and the reason why is there's a lot of women who think they're dating a guy that they're not dating
- 34:30Okay, I got an outdated go ahead. Can I say one more inappropriate things?
- 34:35I've tried to Chuck tried to put as many of those inappropriate things in one show as possible as possible
- 34:41I think this is important
- 34:45We are men
- 34:46who are married know or in a relationship know that marriage is not a democracy.
- 34:55It's not.
- 34:56That's true.
- 34:56It's not.
- 34:57We somewhere along the way, the women took charge.
- 35:02They did.
- 35:03That's the way it is in my marriage.
- 35:04My wife is in charge.
- 35:06Yeah.
- 35:06Okay.
- 35:07And that that is something that we need to come to grips with.
- 35:12The reason men don't really care is because they've talked to other men who are married
- 35:17who say once you get married, you no longer have control.
- 35:23Yeah.
- 35:24You know what's really funny about that?
- 35:25Financial stats back that up.
- 35:27In marriages, women make most of the big financial decisions according to the end.
- 35:33I know we all decide together, but they say that women are more influential.
- 35:36No, we don't.
- 35:37No, we don't.
- 35:38Really?
- 35:39Can I say something?
- 35:40I like you and I do this radio show. Yeah, so we could talk honestly. Okay. Okay fine fine, right?
- 35:46So let's all every guy out there is listening right now is one
- 35:51No, I know. Well, thank you for the call Bart
- 35:54We're getting a lot of feedback in your line too
- 35:55I'll say it this way and the reason that it happens in my marriage is I don't want her to be upset
- 36:00Like cuz then that'll be worse like if I make the decision and not her she's gonna complain about it and then complain again
- 36:05next day. Can we do a whole show complaining about women? Because I think this is not,
- 36:10this is too quick. We're running out of time. Happy wife, happy life is real because, and
- 36:15my wife is very sweet, but she does, it just sticks there. And it's so much easier to just
- 36:20like buy the car she wanted than to buy the car I wanted. Of course. Yeah. It's called
- 36:25getting along because we don't want that kind of drama, right? Right. And how that's become
- 36:31like something.
- 36:34That's why when I hear people that I hang around with here who say, you're objectifying
- 36:39women.
- 36:41You're doing this.
- 36:43You're, I swear to God, you need like a shrink handbook.
- 36:47We should have a ... Donald Trump should put out a pamphlet on screwed up, soft, wishy washy
- 36:54people.
- 36:55Well, the funny thing about it too is like we are because that's how we're built.
- 36:59Like I am looking at a woman and gauging her level of attractiveness
- 37:02I am and if you're telling me and if you're telling me that I can't then what I actually have to do is pretend
- 37:08I'm not I'm not actually gonna stop doing it
- 37:10It's in my brain like I remember this just happened a couple weeks ago
- 37:13My wife and I were at a target and a woman came in wearing almost nothing and like well
- 37:17Maybe she had just gone to the gym and like I did I did do that like a little bit of that
- 37:21I didn't do a lot of it Wayne. I just sure you were like following her down the
- 37:25Five aisles.
- 37:27I did a little bit of a head turn,
- 37:28because you notice somebody that's not wearing
- 37:30a lot of clothing that's attractive,
- 37:31and you can't not look.
- 37:33And then my wife like hit me in the rib
- 37:35and like yelled at me for a little bit.
- 37:37Now I have to look.
- 37:38I told her, I'm like, it's human.
- 37:40Like that is also very human.
- 37:41I think it's very masculine.
- 37:43How do you not look, at least?
- 37:45And they're asking you to pretend you don't see anything.
- 37:47It's toxic, you're toxic to masculinity.
- 37:50I think you're toxic.
- 37:52I'm a horrible person.
- 37:53You're racist.
- 37:54Right.
- 37:54You're a supremacist.
- 37:56You're a, I'm never minded.
- 37:58Yeah.
- 37:59I'm equal opportunity.
- 38:00I will check out all races, Wayne.
- 38:02I don't know if that makes me racist or not.
- 38:03You can call me any, this is breaking news.
- 38:06Call me any name you want.
- 38:08I do not care.
- 38:10No.
- 38:11Right.
- 38:12Well, now, and it's just so crazy again that this is such a controversy because the other
- 38:15way to talk about it is to show this very common joke in comedy right now from other
- 38:20comedians that are not getting a bunch of pushback because they're not Shane Gillis.
- 38:24The left doesn't like him because he's made jokes that are nice about President Trump.
- 38:29They don't like anyone who does.
- 38:31Look, they are in to kill.
- 38:34I don't mean it like in a murder way.
- 38:36I mean, politically kill.
- 38:38They think the things you spew on this show, the disgusting, horrible, toxic, narrow minded
- 38:49things that you spew. I try to protect us from your spewing.
- 38:54You do. I'm the problem.
- 38:57That you're the problem because in the next few generations, it ain't going to matter
- 39:03because we're just going to be robots. The robots are going to tell us what to do and say.
- 39:09We're going to have to ask the robot permission, is it okay that I am physically interested in that woman?
- 39:18I think that's our future, right?
- 39:20Am I allowed to say that?
- 39:21Am I allowed to think in my brain?
- 39:24Well, and what's also so funny about this is like you can use so many examples that
- 39:27go beyond just us saying the obvious that everybody knows.
- 39:30Like when you look at advertising, if you want a man to buy something, put an attractive
- 39:34woman in the ad.
- 39:36No, do the trans thing again.
- 39:37That worked out so well.
- 39:38I think the trans thing.
- 39:40Yeah, if you want a woman to buy something, show it, I think what they said in marketing
- 39:45is show that it makes you look younger.
- 39:46It's about you and how you look but for a dude it's it's who we're with it's like oh if I buy that soda
- 39:53Cindy Crawford is gonna hang out with me great, then I'm gonna go ahead and buy Pepsi. That's all it is for us
- 39:58I think these evil thoughts you have
- 40:02That's a marketing study. That's not even me. No, I think to think about marketing is actually shameful
- 40:09Yeah, I think that's right when you think about it people who go into marketing
- 40:13are
- 40:13are the kind of people that exploit others for the benefit of their products.
- 40:19They are.
- 40:20And I think in the new world that's being created, all marketing should not be allowed
- 40:26because it's not fair.
- 40:28By the way, there is a podcast out there with Shane Gillis reacting somewhat.
- 40:33We can't play it.
- 40:34It's a lot of bad words.
- 40:35I love bad words.
- 40:36But I know I do too.
- 40:38But during it, he's asked what he has responded to like this controversy by saying, and apparently
- 40:43he was on a group chat that included NBC representatives.
- 40:47So NBC Saturday Night Live, they're the ones pushing him to apologize.
- 40:51His own management team was a part of it.
- 40:53And Shane didn't know that SNL or NBC was on the group chat and he said, bleep, no, I'm not apologizing
- 40:59for anything.
- 41:00They can go bleep themselves, NBC, and they're on the group chat.
- 41:06And so they saw that message that they can go bleep themselves.
- 41:09And I'm a big believer in saying that.
- 41:13I love to tell people to their face when I think, look, I'm doing an investigation in
- 41:19Corpus real quick and people who watch me know that.
- 41:22And I've been asking for records from Corpus for about seven months.
- 41:26Okay.
- 41:27And I have never talked to the city secretary once, no one, she has never returned a single
- 41:36phone call from any of my staff in seven months.
- 41:40And under law, she is responsible for providing public information.
- 41:46She will not talk to me.
- 41:47I did call yesterday afternoon and told the poor girl that answered go tell your
- 41:53lazy boss
- 41:55That if she doesn't call me back in 10 minutes, I'm going to sue her and I'm and she didn't call me back
- 42:02Yeah, I I went I went for the wild card
- 42:05So I I told her I said look when I sue and it's coming
- 42:10I want you to remember this phone call right that I gave her one last opportunity
- 42:16Wow.
- 42:18Act like a person who taxpayers are actually paying.
- 42:23The arrogance is so insulting to me and I will sue because they deserve it.
- 42:33But it's amazing.
- 42:36It's amazing how we've lost control of the plot.
- 42:40Yeah, we have.
- 42:42And honestly, the best way to get it back is this way.
- 42:45I do think the culture war is the one the left has unfortunately won over the last few years
- 42:51Compared to the right, but I think it is shifting and when you look at younger people and I talked about my nephew before
- 42:5720 year old a kid that all the time tells me he doesn't get some of the crap that goes on with
- 43:03How much like and he's a he's a young white man. He's the bad guy. Well, yeah, I'm poisoning him to be different
- 43:10But what I love about that is when he also tells me that it's kind of ridiculous, like this woke thing is stupid,
- 43:16or this, the white guy's the bad guy is dumb, the message isn't landing as well in this generation as it did on mine, on millennials.
- 43:23And hopefully that helps fix the problem, because yeah, Republicans took their eye off the culture war a little more than we should have.
- 43:30Yeah, but we've also taken our eye off the voting war.
- 43:33Look, James Talarico, voting record is a matter of public record.
- 43:39Yeah.
- 43:40And so when I don't see it, I say to myself, well, maybe it's not as bad as they claim.
- 43:49That's why when I see someone not leaning in to the fact that if James Talarico is
- 43:55your senator, you will raise taxes, you will open the border.
- 44:00Don't listen to the nonsense that he spews, the scripted stuff.
- 44:05Look at how he votes.
- 44:07Yes at the end of the day and I say this with all due respect to Ken Paxton who actually met
- 44:14That's the time with him in his house actually like him
- 44:17Is it doesn't matter whether you're the coolest dude?
- 44:21Right, or you served in Iraq or you did this in this people want to know that you are authentic about what you believe
- 44:29Mm-hmm. I have more respect for Bernie Sanders because I may think he's absolutely nuts
- 44:37Right. But I believe he believes what he says.
- 44:42Yeah, he's consistent. He wouldn't back down from his beliefs in the 11th hour if it makes him more
- 44:46likely to win an election and Talarico has. And by the way, on the border specifically,
- 44:50because you asked about voting, he voted against Senate Bill 4, 7, Bill 602, 1403, 888, all of them
- 44:57would have made the border more secure here in Texas. All of them he said no to. It's one of
- 45:02several things he's kept saying no to with the vote. Where are those commercials? I don't know.
- 45:05They need to be out there.
- 45:06All right, that's it.
- 45:07We're done.
- 45:08Our show is over.
- 45:09That was so quick.
- 45:10It was.
- 45:10Thank you to everybody who called in.
- 45:12Thank you to everybody who's a part of it.
- 45:13You're back tomorrow, yes?
- 45:14Are you traveling?
- 45:15You know what?
- 45:16I don't know what I'm doing yet.
- 45:18I don't know where I'm going to be.
- 45:20We might have won.
- 45:21I could be in a hotel room.
- 45:22Gotcha.
- 45:22I could be at a gym.
- 45:24Go.
- 45:25I think we should do a live shop in the gym.
- 45:27I think we should both go to the gym.
- 45:29With the women.
- 45:30And we should go to the gym with the women.
- 45:31All right, talk to you guys next time on The Voice of Texas,
- 45:33KSEV radio.
