- 0:04Speaker 1: This is the Patriots Catch twenty two podcasts with Evan
- 0:07Speaker 1: Lazar and Alex Bars, Bizarre and Lazarre.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Hello, everybody nailed it? Joined us always by our Bars.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Here is Evan Lazar and Alex Bars.
- 0:21Speaker 2: We talked about this a lot in twenty twenty two,
- 0:23Speaker 2: probably with the twenty twenty two Celtics. We're talking about
- 0:26Speaker 2: it with the Spurs, We're talking about it with the Patriots.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I just think it goes to show just in all sports,
- 0:31Speaker 2: and basketball probably happens more frequently than others, but in
- 0:34Speaker 2: all sports you kind of have to lose before you win, yeah,
- 0:39Speaker 2: and you have to taste your own butt a little
- 0:40Speaker 2: bit before you win. And both those teams it made
- 0:43Speaker 2: me feel the same way. They kind of both arrived
- 0:45Speaker 2: a little bit earlier than they were supposed to with
- 0:48Speaker 2: the Patriots and the Spurs. Yeah, and they got to
- 0:51Speaker 2: that point, you know, at the end there, and they
- 0:53Speaker 2: just weren't ready for the moment. And the Spurs probably
- 0:56Speaker 2: had a better chance of flipping that series than the
- 0:58Speaker 2: Patriots ever did flipping the Super Bowl. But that always
- 1:01Speaker 2: type of stuff always interests me because Wemby is Wemby
- 1:05Speaker 2: and Drake May is now on his way to being
- 1:08Speaker 2: one of the faces of the league in the NFL
- 1:09Speaker 2: and one of the best quarterbacks in the league. And
- 1:12Speaker 2: both those guys losing the title wraps you know, they
- 1:15Speaker 2: both come up a couple of games short catch catch. Well,
- 1:23Speaker 2: maybe we'll we'll talk some basketball in the second hour
- 1:26Speaker 2: because the Celtics are making me upset. Maybe we'll talk
- 1:31Speaker 2: some soccer that we were just talking because you have
- 1:33Speaker 2: an opinion on our our lingo thing is carrying over
- 1:36Speaker 2: from Patriots Unfiltered. But we're going to talk football on
- 1:39Speaker 2: this show too. I promise we're not going to be
- 1:41Speaker 2: all silliness and non football on Catch twenty two.
- 1:44Speaker 1: It's Alex at least not until the seconds hevin.
- 1:46Speaker 2: It's a spy and the glass. We have some football
- 1:49Speaker 2: things to get to today in the first hour at least.
- 1:52Speaker 2: And then are your calls your emails? Eight five to
- 1:55Speaker 2: five Pats five hundred is the call is the phone number,
- 1:59Speaker 2: The email address is podcasts at Patriots dot com. If
- 2:03Speaker 2: you want to weigh in on that. Do you want
- 2:05Speaker 2: to weigh in on our uh should we be calling
- 2:08Speaker 2: it the picture of the field argument? Quickly?
- 2:10Speaker 1: You of all people who has gate kept this World Cup.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Has everybody else started to enjoy it? And you got
- 2:18Speaker 1: it in debt because you're in everybody else's enjoying it.
- 2:20Speaker 1: You don't understand soccer. You don't really get the sock,
- 2:23Speaker 1: but now you're you don't like it when people say
- 2:27Speaker 1: nil instead is zero, that's and.
- 2:29Speaker 2: One that critical.
- 2:30Speaker 1: You're right, that's doing the sport. It's very hypocritical. This
- 2:33Speaker 1: is your sport. That's the whole thing. Like in two
- 2:37Speaker 1: when I'm on the air and I'm talking about it
- 2:39Speaker 1: professionally and I don't say nil, the soccer fans get
- 2:42Speaker 1: annoyed with me, and I understand it. It's their sport. Fine,
- 2:44Speaker 1: you have a right to be annoyed. I'm gonna do it.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I'm gonna say it how the soccer fans want me
- 2:48Speaker 1: to say it. I'm gonna say nil.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Okay, So here's my take on it that I just
- 2:52Speaker 2: kind of laid out. But I'll take it a different
- 2:54Speaker 2: direction because I think this pertains to this show specifically
- 2:58Speaker 2: because we talk so much about in college football. I
- 3:02Speaker 2: believe our best path as a soccer nation to make
- 3:05Speaker 2: soccer more popular, more exciting, more American is to basically
- 3:11Speaker 2: adopt college football traditions and rules and apply that.
- 3:16Speaker 1: To soccer except what you hate when every other sport
- 3:18Speaker 1: does that.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Correct. Yes, but with college football, it's very regional. It's
- 3:24Speaker 2: very passionate.
- 3:25Speaker 1: It is the closest thing we have.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what makes soccer in Europe so unique is
- 3:30Speaker 2: that it's so regional, right, it's not. It's literally like
- 3:34Speaker 2: these smaller towns even like have their own team. Every town,
- 3:38Speaker 2: every city has its own teams, have multiple but every
- 3:43Speaker 2: it's even more regional than like our sports. I would say,
- 3:46Speaker 2: besides college football, that's the one like true regional thing.
- 3:50Speaker 2: And I just think that if we as a soccer nation,
- 3:54Speaker 2: if we just made it more ours, then I think
- 3:59Speaker 2: it would be more. It would be more, the culture
- 4:02Speaker 2: would feel more natural, versus like trying to adopt culture
- 4:06Speaker 2: from overseas and make that our thing. It is a
- 4:10Speaker 2: little hypocritical of me because I've been very critical of
- 4:14Speaker 2: you for all of a sudden being I called you
- 4:17Speaker 2: sir Alex the other day. I don't think you've got
- 4:19Speaker 2: the joke. No, So, Sir Alex Ferguson, coach from Manchester United,
- 4:24Speaker 2: was basically like the Bill Belichick at the Premier League.
- 4:27Speaker 2: So I started calling you sir Alex because you're a
- 4:29Speaker 2: soccer guy.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Now, I mean, I've just enjoyed the the you are,
- 4:34Speaker 1: the culture element of it. It's been very fun. But yeah, no,
- 4:37Speaker 1: I think I yeah, if you'ren't talk about the sport,
- 4:40Speaker 1: you use the right terminology. I don't think there's anything
- 4:42Speaker 1: wrong with that. But if we're gonna do the college
- 4:43Speaker 1: football thing, yeah we should. And the other thing I
- 4:45Speaker 1: saw instead of just inventing these chants like how cool
- 4:48Speaker 1: is it at the end of that game last week
- 4:50Speaker 1: Country Roads, let's just do that. Let's just take our
- 4:53Speaker 1: songs and like imagine if they came out to say, well,
- 4:56Speaker 1: I guess we can't do seven Nation Army because Scotland's
- 4:59Speaker 1: kind of using the so we can't do that. But
- 5:03Speaker 1: like what if they came out to I mean.
- 5:06Speaker 2: They're currently coming out to the Chicago Bulls.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Yeah great, Well there's no lyrics to that, which is problem.
- 5:12Speaker 2: No, but they had the Chicago Bulls had like entrance.
- 5:15Speaker 1: To come out to that. We can do just like
- 5:17Speaker 1: just sing like songs. It doesn't they don't need to
- 5:19Speaker 1: be like European soccer chains. We have great songs.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Well, that I feel like is what our culture.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Is, right, that's what it should be, you know.
- 5:26Speaker 2: So this is my point that it's not about changing
- 5:29Speaker 2: the fundamental language of the sport. That's not what I'm
- 5:32Speaker 2: talking about. I'm talking about the culture around this sport. Anyways,
- 5:36Speaker 2: we're gonna do an exercise here today. We're going back
- 5:39Speaker 2: to football, our football, not not soccer football. We're gonna
- 5:43Speaker 2: do a couple of things exercises here. Big show today,
- 5:47Speaker 2: Alex for around the AFCs, for wrapping it up today
- 5:50Speaker 2: with your favorite team to talk about the Buffalo Bills.
- 5:53Speaker 2: So we'll do that in a little bit. But I
- 5:55Speaker 2: want to start with this exercise. I was on Twitter
- 5:58Speaker 2: a couple of weeks ago and this is right up
- 6:01Speaker 2: our alley and Daniel Jeremiah moved the sticks. He put
- 6:06Speaker 2: out a tweet that said, you know, this is what
- 6:10Speaker 2: he was taught is sort of a championship foundation for
- 6:13Speaker 2: a team. Twelve players make up this championship foundation. And
- 6:19Speaker 2: I wanted to do it with the Patriots and see
- 6:21Speaker 2: if the Patriots have all these boxes check. So it's
- 6:24Speaker 2: twelve players total, it's one quarterback.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Check.
- 6:28Speaker 2: It's three offensive playmakers, it's three quality offensive linemen, it
- 6:34Speaker 2: is two pass rushers and three defensive playmakers. Now, perfect
- 6:38Speaker 2: semantics for me is pass rusher versus defensive playmaker. Right,
- 6:44Speaker 2: those are kind of similar.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you specified pass rusher it the outside
- 6:48Speaker 1: is outside is beyond that?
- 6:51Speaker 2: Right? So those are all the sort of categories. So
- 6:56Speaker 2: one quarterback, three offensive playmakers, three the offensive lineman, two
- 7:01Speaker 2: pass rushers, three defensive players. Mix up twelve and the
- 7:04Speaker 2: idea I.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Would add you, I would add you need the coach
- 7:07Speaker 1: to which the Patriots have that box check.
- 7:08Speaker 2: This is just roster wise.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Yeah, So this was Daniel Jeremiah's exact tweet. He said,
- 7:16Speaker 2: I like to revisit this concept for every NFL team
- 7:18Speaker 2: to build a championship foundation, you need to fill these
- 7:22Speaker 2: twelve spots. So the question is is do the Patriots
- 7:25Speaker 2: have a championship foundation as a football team? So I
- 7:28Speaker 2: just want to go through each one of these buckets, uh,
- 7:31Speaker 2: and then we'll talk about each one of those and
- 7:33Speaker 2: see if the Patriots have the box checked. The first
- 7:35Speaker 2: one being quarterback, which I wrote check in capital letters yep.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Next to that one.
- 7:41Speaker 1: How much time you spend that with.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Drake may Well? The one thing I wanted to talk about, yeah,
- 7:45Speaker 2: with Drake May. I feel like I've gotten asked this
- 7:50Speaker 2: question various ways all off season of what's the next step,
- 7:54Speaker 2: how does Drake May get even better? And I'll admit
- 7:57Speaker 2: two things. One little defensive of that question, because it's like,
- 8:02Speaker 2: how do you get even better than the MVP runner
- 8:04Speaker 2: up in the leader in the league in QPR at
- 8:06Speaker 2: EPA and passer rating and completion rate, Like we're setting
- 8:09Speaker 2: a pretty high bar for him to play even better
- 8:12Speaker 2: than he did last year. Number two is you know,
- 8:14Speaker 2: I hadn't put a ton of thought into it as
- 8:17Speaker 2: to what I would point to and say, you know,
- 8:19Speaker 2: these are the couple of things that I would really
- 8:21Speaker 2: see to like to see him improve on. So the
- 8:24Speaker 2: one thing that I kind of settled on when I
- 8:26Speaker 2: thought about this the other day, when you look at
- 8:29Speaker 2: his numbers and they got better, I would say as
- 8:32Speaker 2: a season regular season war on and then they came
- 8:35Speaker 2: out again in a negative way in the playoffs. He
- 8:39Speaker 2: took forty eight sacks last year. Just that raw number,
- 8:43Speaker 2: forty eight is the fourth most in the NFL. Last year. Now,
- 8:47Speaker 2: on a per drop back basis, he was an eight
- 8:49Speaker 2: percent sack rate. That's the tenth highest. And I think
- 8:52Speaker 2: the other number that's interesting is his pressure two sack rate,
- 8:55Speaker 2: So this is how often a pressure is converted into
- 8:58Speaker 2: a sack. That is the ten ties it well at
- 9:01Speaker 2: twenty point six percent. We saw that take another life
- 9:05Speaker 2: in the playoffs, I would say where he got sacked
- 9:07Speaker 2: even more. That would be the one thing that if
- 9:10Speaker 2: I had to nitpick Drake May and say, I'd like
- 9:13Speaker 2: to see this improve. It's not so much about the
- 9:17Speaker 2: hits that he's taking. That's part of it, but the
- 9:20Speaker 2: other part of it is just keeping the offense out
- 9:22Speaker 2: of negative plays and negative downs and distances, especially third
- 9:26Speaker 2: and longs. They had a exuberant high amount of third
- 9:31Speaker 2: and longs last year. They were just so efficient and honestly,
- 9:35Speaker 2: like kind of broke the brain a little bit of
- 9:39Speaker 2: how good they were on third and long that it
- 9:42Speaker 2: didn't end up mattering. But you don't want to live
- 9:44Speaker 2: in that world right where you're in third and nine,
- 9:46Speaker 2: third and ten. We saw that finally catch up to
- 9:49Speaker 2: them in the playoffs and especially in the Super Bowl.
- 9:51Speaker 2: So if there is one element of Drake May's game
- 9:54Speaker 2: that I would say I'd like to see him improve
- 9:56Speaker 2: on a little bit, it's taking fewer sacks and whether
- 9:59Speaker 2: that me means getting to the checkdowns, throwing the ball away,
- 10:04Speaker 2: like whatever way you get to that point, we can debate.
- 10:09Speaker 2: But I got to ask that question a hundred times
- 10:11Speaker 2: and I wanted to finally have an answer to it.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it just has to come with. The
- 10:15Speaker 1: sack number was up because the turnover number was down,
- 10:18Speaker 1: and I think he was just kind of knowing where
- 10:20Speaker 1: to where when not to take unnecessary risks. So that
- 10:24Speaker 1: number's got to come down without the turnover number going
- 10:27Speaker 1: back up and finding other ways to And maybe they've
- 10:30Speaker 1: talked a lot about him having more agency at the
- 10:32Speaker 1: line of scrimmage. Maybe this is just checking out of
- 10:34Speaker 1: bad plays and things like that, But that number needs
- 10:37Speaker 1: to come down without the turnovers going back up.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Right, And I think that that's kind of that all
- 10:42Speaker 2: all the bad habits sort of came out in the
- 10:44Speaker 2: playoffs at times where he was getting strip sacked and
- 10:47Speaker 2: he was turned the ball over and he was getting sacked.
- 10:50Speaker 2: So I think that that all kind of comes together.
- 10:53Speaker 2: They got themselves out of bad situations offensively last year,
- 10:58Speaker 2: especially during the regular seat at a prolific clip, like
- 11:03Speaker 2: like a really high clip. I don't know if that's sustainable,
- 11:06Speaker 2: especially against a tougher schedule and tougher defenses. So that
- 11:10Speaker 2: was my one nipick a Drake, But quarterback checked that box.
- 11:14Speaker 2: The Patriots clearly have check offensive playmaker. I think this
- 11:17Speaker 2: one's interesting because Daniel Jeremiah says you need three. They
- 11:23Speaker 2: clearly have one with AJ Brown?
- 11:24Speaker 1: Right?
- 11:26Speaker 2: Do they have three out of this group? Is the
- 11:28Speaker 2: interesting question? And this is where we get into the
- 11:31Speaker 2: semantics of what's a playmaker?
- 11:32Speaker 3: Right?
- 11:33Speaker 2: Is this guy a nice role player? Is he truly
- 11:35Speaker 2: a playmaker?
- 11:36Speaker 4: You know?
- 11:37Speaker 2: Romeo, Dobbs, Hunter, Henry, and I put the two running
- 11:40Speaker 2: backs down, Trevion Henderson and Remandre Stephenson. Can we get
- 11:43Speaker 2: two more playmakers out of that list to say that
- 11:45Speaker 2: they have three legit playmakers on this roster?
- 11:49Speaker 1: Uh? So, who's sorry?
- 11:50Speaker 3: Who you have?
- 11:51Speaker 2: Dobbs, Henry, Henderson, Remandre AJ Brown?
- 11:55Speaker 3: Well?
- 11:55Speaker 2: AJ Brown I said he check. This is like, I
- 11:59Speaker 2: don't know if you guys are truly playmakers? Like do
- 12:01Speaker 2: I what I call them? A playmaker?
- 12:04Speaker 1: I think Remandre and Dobbs of the potential to be.
- 12:07Speaker 2: So do you think more so than Henderson?
- 12:10Speaker 1: Uh? I mean, define playmakers A big play threat or
- 12:14Speaker 1: like consistent volume. You know that's the question, right, Like,
- 12:18Speaker 1: Henderson's a big play threat, but he's not a consistent
- 12:22Speaker 1: He's not a guy that consistently makes plays. Romeo Dobbs
- 12:24Speaker 1: is somebody I think could be in the you know,
- 12:26Speaker 1: one hundred catch range this year, so that's pretty consistently
- 12:29Speaker 1: making plays. But he's not somebody i'd consider like a
- 12:31Speaker 1: game breaker. So I don't know where to go from there.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Like I, I guess you need to define more and
- 12:38Speaker 1: I think you need both. I think you can't only
- 12:41Speaker 1: have guys that are chain movers and guys that are
- 12:45Speaker 1: you know, consistent down to down but not big play threats.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I can't don't think you can only have big play
- 12:50Speaker 1: threats either.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Right, So I think Romeo Doves and Hunter Henry your
- 12:55Speaker 2: classic chain moving pieces at their positions. Henderson's big play
- 12:59Speaker 2: remind is more consistent. I would put Rimandre in a
- 13:02Speaker 2: playmaking category. I think he proved down the stretch last year,
- 13:06Speaker 2: especially just all around pass blocking, catching the ball out
- 13:10Speaker 2: in the backfield, running the football. I think he's a playmaker.
- 13:14Speaker 2: The other ones I think are debatable. I don't know.
- 13:16Speaker 2: If I like to me, you have to have like
- 13:18Speaker 2: a real impact on the game and be, you know,
- 13:20Speaker 2: our Tuesday player thing.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Right.
- 13:22Speaker 2: That's sort of what I think of with the offensive
- 13:24Speaker 2: playmaker category is like, is this a guy that you
- 13:26Speaker 2: go into the game on Monday and Tuesday as the
- 13:29Speaker 2: opponent and circle on the depth chart and say, we
- 13:32Speaker 2: got to have an answer for this? Clearly AJ Brown
- 13:35Speaker 2: is one of those guys. I don't know. They kind
- 13:38Speaker 2: of have it by committee right now.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I think if we're gonna go by Tuesday player, I
- 13:42Speaker 1: think Henderson could be just even if he's not a
- 13:44Speaker 1: big play, even if he's not a consistent threat, you
- 13:47Speaker 1: need to be ready to prevent him from breaking off
- 13:49Speaker 1: that big play fair enough.
- 13:51Speaker 2: So I kind of think they passed this category, but
- 13:55Speaker 2: it might be by committee behind Brown. You know, it
- 13:59Speaker 2: might not be Brown and Devonte Smith. It might be
- 14:02Speaker 2: Brown and like five other guys that.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Were But I don't think this is something to pass
- 14:06Speaker 1: by committee.
- 14:07Speaker 2: So you don't you don't think you passed this. Gout it.
- 14:10Speaker 1: But but I think they guy they have guys that
- 14:12Speaker 1: can be It's tough.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Well, you gotta make a decision.
- 14:16Speaker 1: What do you think? I say, No, Yeah, I think
- 14:19Speaker 1: I'm with you.
- 14:20Speaker 2: I think they have some complimentary pieces behind AJ Brown.
- 14:22Speaker 1: I'm not sure, but so that they're saying, we don't
- 14:24Speaker 1: think they can win a super Bowl? Huh, who really
- 14:28Speaker 1: has Like, Okay, that's that's a good question. Who really
- 14:31Speaker 1: has three Tuesday Morning players? I can think one team
- 14:36Speaker 1: off the top of my head, and they can't win
- 14:37Speaker 1: a championship.
- 14:37Speaker 2: That's probably a little much to have three.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Right, The one team I can think of, as the
- 14:41Speaker 1: Niners did for a period there. That goes back to
- 14:44Speaker 1: my point about you have of the coach and the quarterback,
- 14:46Speaker 1: but who else has I guess the Dolphins did sort
- 14:51Speaker 1: of right. We're was Hill ever really healthy when a
- 14:56Speaker 1: chan was like at his peak?
- 14:57Speaker 2: Probably not. They probably were ships past.
- 14:59Speaker 1: So they kind of missed it.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Did Like the Bengals are probably pretty close. I mean,
- 15:04Speaker 2: here's the third Chase Brown. They're running back.
- 15:07Speaker 1: It's not a Tuesday Morning player, though he's not bad.
- 15:12Speaker 1: The Eagles, the Eagles said three, you might have had four.
- 15:16Speaker 1: They might Uh, the Eagles might have had four, And
- 15:20Speaker 1: I'm going through divisions.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Cowboys CD now I don't know if they have the
- 15:27Speaker 2: third guy. They have two really good ones.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and then they kind of a revolving door running
- 15:31Speaker 1: back right now? Uh, the Raiders might have two. I
- 15:36Speaker 1: certainly don't have a third, but they might have two
- 15:38Speaker 1: Bowers and genty hang on just going. But now I'm curious.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I was going by divisions. Uh so the the Eagles
- 15:44Speaker 1: and maybe the Cowboys in the NFC East the NFC North.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Do the Vikings, noticing the theme.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Here, they have two? Does Hawkinson count?
- 15:54Speaker 1: Howkinson? Maybe the end of it, But.
- 15:57Speaker 2: We're saying Hawkinson counts, and I think we have to
- 15:59Speaker 2: say Hunter Henry.
- 16:01Speaker 1: I think Hawkinson's a Tuesday Morning player.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Then I think he was. Then I think we have
- 16:06Speaker 2: to say Hunter Henry is too like that. Let me
- 16:08Speaker 2: see what Hunter Henry is? A more productive player?
- 16:11Speaker 1: Is he the big? Yeah? All right, fair enough? I
- 16:14Speaker 1: thought Hawkinson's number I'm going back to like twenty three
- 16:16Speaker 1: when he had nine hundred yards. So the Vikings maybe
- 16:18Speaker 1: maybe not. The Lions don't. Eh No, the Lions don't.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Jameson Williams isn't I do like James am and raw
- 16:26Speaker 1: Is Gibbs is I think they might.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I think I might put Jamo in that category just
- 16:31Speaker 2: because of his speed, Like.
- 16:33Speaker 1: If we I think we put James Williams, and we
- 16:35Speaker 1: have to put tradon Henderson's.
- 16:36Speaker 2: That's sort of why I lean towards Henderson. It's because
- 16:39Speaker 2: if i'm if I'm preparing for the Patriots, Yeah, and
- 16:43Speaker 2: Henderson's just to mention that he brings and the big playability,
- 16:48Speaker 2: that's something that you're talking about right when when thirty
- 16:51Speaker 2: two is on the field, we just we can't give
- 16:53Speaker 2: up the backbreaker. We can't give up a sixty year
- 16:56Speaker 2: touchdown run.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Okay, so wait, so hang on, this is really helpful
- 16:59Speaker 1: for this disc ushian. So we have the Eagles, Well
- 17:02Speaker 1: we did. I had the Eagles, maybe the Cowboys, maybe
- 17:07Speaker 1: the Lions, maybe the Vikings Packers, no Bears.
- 17:13Speaker 3: No.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Rams or Adam Adam on Falcon. The do the Falcons?
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yes? Absolutely, Pitts London Okay, yeah, Panthers, they have nothing else,
- 17:25Speaker 2: but they have those three those three guys.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Well again, this is the theme I'm noticing. I'll run
- 17:30Speaker 1: back on this in a second. The Panthers, No, not yet.
- 17:33Speaker 1: The Saints. I like Coker, lot he's not. If Coker's in,
- 17:38Speaker 1: then we're put like three people.
- 17:39Speaker 2: But I like, I really like him. That's all I'm saying.
- 17:41Speaker 1: He's a good, complimentary Tuesday Morning. He's a nice little
- 17:45Speaker 1: that is a Tuesday Morning player.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Sure is uh?
- 17:47Speaker 1: Kamara is probably not anymore. So I'm gonna go no
- 17:49Speaker 1: for the Saints, I think.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Is probably and we'll see about Jordan Tyson and we'll see.
- 17:54Speaker 1: About Jordan Tyson. The Bucks did They don't anymore.
- 17:57Speaker 2: They have Buca, they have Godwin, and they had my Evans,
- 18:00Speaker 2: they had Mike.
- 18:01Speaker 1: But they don't. No, I don't think they have a
- 18:02Speaker 1: third game. They didn't, so they.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Had somebody right they drafted Ted Hurst?
- 18:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but yeah, too far. Cardinals don't. I don't think
- 18:10Speaker 1: Carls have won. Well. I guess we'll see what.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Marvin Harrison junior Marvin.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Harris and what's his name there? Running back from oh
- 18:17Speaker 1: uh Jordan Love not Love not Jordan Jeremiah Love. But no,
- 18:22Speaker 1: Cardinals don't. Okay, So the Rams have Puka?
- 18:25Speaker 2: What what was up with us today?
- 18:26Speaker 1: We didn't expect me doing this is literally on the fly.
- 18:28Speaker 1: The Rams have Puka. Yes, Adams, Adams, do you give
- 18:32Speaker 1: a tenny of their tight ends? Williams Kyle Williams, Tuesday
- 18:36Speaker 1: Morning Player.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I think it's close. He's really good.
- 18:39Speaker 1: I think you know what if it is, if he's close,
- 18:42Speaker 1: he's not. Okay, So the Rams have two, they have
- 18:44Speaker 1: two good ones. They have two. Yeah, the Niners have McCaffrey,
- 18:48Speaker 1: they have Kittle. I don't really have much left at receiver,
- 18:52Speaker 1: do they? They did with deebo and Ayuk, but I
- 18:55Speaker 1: think they're probably Oh no, they have Mike Evans.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Well now they have Mike Evans. Is Mike Evans still
- 18:59Speaker 2: at that level? And I mean Ricky Piersall's if he's held.
- 19:03Speaker 1: On a Tuesday Morning Player not yet. The Seahawks probably not.
- 19:09Speaker 1: So they have js N's one.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Js N. I don't think we're counting Cooper Cup at
- 19:15Speaker 2: this stage of his career.
- 19:16Speaker 1: No, but A J.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Barner.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Their tight ends really good.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Yeah, they have some guys that are close and needs closed.
- 19:22Speaker 1: They don't have the Kenneth Walker anymore. So maybe they
- 19:25Speaker 1: did last year. Yeah, But no AFC bills, no Dolphins,
- 19:30Speaker 1: not anymore.
- 19:31Speaker 2: We're not We're not giving bills. DJ Moore, Dalton, James.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Cook, James Cooks a Tuesday Morning Player. Okay, I'm just asking, Okay,
- 19:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna do the bills in a little bit.
- 19:40Speaker 3: I know.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Well, I was going to say we we should do
- 19:42Speaker 1: this DeAndre and my exercise with the Bills to transition
- 19:44Speaker 1: into that.
- 19:45Speaker 2: That's a good idea.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Dolphins, No, not anymore.
- 19:47Speaker 2: No, that's one of the worst skill position talent in
- 19:50Speaker 2: the league. I think at this point they went from
- 19:52Speaker 2: like one of the best of the worst over now
- 19:55Speaker 2: the Jets do have won, Garrett Wilson.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Actually, Jets might have too. You put breeseall in there.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Yes, Jets have.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Too good for the Jets.
- 20:01Speaker 2: The Jets, the Omar Cooper junior has the chance. He's
- 20:05Speaker 2: not there.
- 20:05Speaker 1: I will see he's not there yet.
- 20:07Speaker 2: They also have sad now too.
- 20:08Speaker 1: So all right, so the Jets could get there, but
- 20:10Speaker 1: for now they're now.
- 20:11Speaker 2: The Jets are sneaky good at the skill positions. They
- 20:14Speaker 2: got nothing else, but they're sneaky good there. Ravens yes,
- 20:17Speaker 2: Ravens yes. Derrick Henry, Derrick Henry. Who's the receiver?
- 20:21Speaker 1: Say, oh right, say I'll still count Marky injury?
- 20:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I was gonna That's what I meant, not the
- 20:26Speaker 2: receiver tight end.
- 20:28Speaker 1: You still count Mark Andrews. Honestly, with how effective Lamar
- 20:31Speaker 1: is with this, I guess count here.
- 20:33Speaker 2: I guess if we're gonna count Hunter Henry, we have
- 20:35Speaker 2: to countra.
- 20:35Speaker 1: I don't think we're counting Hunter Henry, and I don't
- 20:36Speaker 1: think we're counting whoever the other one was. Who's the
- 20:40Speaker 1: other one the other toe Hawkinson Hackinson? All Right, so
- 20:43Speaker 1: maybe the Ravens don't the Bengals. Maybe the Browns don't.
- 20:48Speaker 2: They have those two rookies, though.
- 20:49Speaker 1: They do have rookies. Steelers definitely don't DK.
- 20:54Speaker 2: They have DK.
- 20:55Speaker 1: I think that's it.
- 20:56Speaker 2: They have your boy, Darnell Washington.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Yeah, Darna watch. I love Darna Watshon not a Tuesday
- 20:59Speaker 1: Blair his blocking? Might he not a Tuesday player?
- 21:03Speaker 2: Probably not? But the blocking is isn't appealing with the.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Texans, know, it feels like they should. They got a
- 21:09Speaker 1: bunch of players who are close. But I'm gonna say
- 21:11Speaker 1: they're Nico's definitely one. Nico's one for sure, Tank Dell
- 21:15Speaker 1: if he's healthy, but he who knows.
- 21:17Speaker 2: I don't think those Iowa State receivers showed me enough.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Not there yet, No, like Dalton Schultz isn't bad, but yeah,
- 21:25Speaker 1: you know, David Montgomery's not bad. But no, like so
- 21:29Speaker 1: the Texans, no Colts.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Colts might Pierce Taylor.
- 21:37Speaker 1: They have a third Tyler Warrant, Yeah, Colts, Mike Yeah, Jags, well,
- 21:46Speaker 1: Ryan Tom, whatever the heck they're doing with Brian Thomas
- 21:48Speaker 1: and Travis Hunter. Travis Hunters on the playing corner. So
- 21:51Speaker 1: Brian Thomas Junior, I don't think Jacoby's won, and h
- 21:55Speaker 1: Parker Washington. If Jacoby's one, then Dobbs is one. Yeah,
- 21:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna say no on the Jags and the Titans.
- 22:02Speaker 2: No, the Titans isn't as bad as you think, but no.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Do they have one?
- 22:07Speaker 2: Calvin Ridley?
- 22:08Speaker 1: I don't know Calvin Ridley is there anymore? It wasn't
- 22:10Speaker 1: one point.
- 22:12Speaker 2: If you're when when the Patriots played the Titans last year,
- 22:15Speaker 2: who to Christian z Aalez cover? Yeah, but I'm just saying.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Like, is he gonna cover when they played the Dolphins
- 22:20Speaker 1: this year?
- 22:21Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 22:22Speaker 1: Grass right? Calvin really is three hundred yards last year?
- 22:25Speaker 2: Did he really?
- 22:26Speaker 1: We played seven games we had three hundred yards? So
- 22:29Speaker 1: also side note in this sexercise, then we can get
- 22:31Speaker 1: back to the Patriots. So who did we have? We
- 22:33Speaker 1: had the Niners, Yes, we had the Falcons who are
- 22:40Speaker 1: now coached by Kevin Stefanski. We had maybe the Vikings
- 22:43Speaker 1: shore coached by Kevin O'Connell. We had the Lions formerly
- 22:47Speaker 1: of Ben Johnson. We had the Eagles and Nick Sirianni.
- 22:51Speaker 1: We had the Oh we didn't do the West Chargers,
- 22:58Speaker 1: Chargers Lad McConkey. No, I feel like the Chargers do
- 23:03Speaker 1: it more by committee. Yeah, you know, Lamar and Hampton
- 23:06Speaker 1: could get there, but no.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like they have a bunch of like
- 23:08Speaker 2: eight hundred yards.
- 23:10Speaker 1: But no, right, we said the Raiders might have two,
- 23:14Speaker 1: but no, they definitely aren't a third.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Not yet.
- 23:17Speaker 1: The Chiefs, No, no, they've the Chiefs have won at
- 23:20Speaker 1: this point.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Kenneth Walker. Yeah, Kenneth Walker.
- 23:24Speaker 1: If you really wanted to stretch it, you could do
- 23:25Speaker 1: Kenneth Walker, Travis Kelcey and Rashi Rice for she Rice
- 23:29Speaker 1: is but that's so many ifs lining up.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I think Travis Kelsey at this stage is now.
- 23:35Speaker 1: And the Broncos.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they might Wattle Sutton and they've too
- 23:43Speaker 2: Wattle Sutton. That's so anywhere now they don't.
- 23:49Speaker 1: What are these teams have in common? Niners, the Falcons,
- 23:55Speaker 1: the Vikings, the Packers, No, not the Packers, the Vikings,
- 23:58Speaker 1: the Lions, the until recently, the who else did we
- 24:03Speaker 1: have here? It was a bunch of the Shanahan guys,
- 24:06Speaker 1: the Bolts.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's an interesting question, and of like you
- 24:12Speaker 2: need so, but the place of the threshold for for
- 24:15Speaker 2: you know, if we could ask DJ, like, what's his
- 24:17Speaker 2: threshold for playmaker? Because ramondre Stevenson makes plays, so Henry
- 24:22Speaker 2: makes plays, like Romeo Dobbs is hopefully going to make
- 24:25Speaker 2: plays like the only clear cut one they have is
- 24:27Speaker 2: aj Brown. The rest of these guys are nice, complimentary players.
- 24:32Speaker 2: But if Romeo Dobbs is your number one option in
- 24:35Speaker 2: your offense and you feel maybe a little lackluster with that, yeah, I.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Go back to So to go back to the original point,
- 24:47Speaker 1: I saying three Tuesday players is probably too high of
- 24:52Speaker 1: a bar. Yeah, to do this, because then they're really
- 24:55Speaker 1: and again of those of those teams we named, just
- 24:57Speaker 1: to go back real quick and do it again. Do
- 25:00Speaker 1: the Niners have the quarterback?
- 25:02Speaker 2: He's good enough, all right?
- 25:04Speaker 1: Well, I don't know about the rest of the life.
- 25:05Speaker 2: I don't think he's the reason why you win, but
- 25:07Speaker 2: I don't I think he's good.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Do the falcons of the quarterback?
- 25:09Speaker 2: No?
- 25:09Speaker 1: Do the vikings of the quarterback?
- 25:11Speaker 2: No?
- 25:12Speaker 1: No, you should not have had to think no, well
- 25:15Speaker 1: Kyler is there now? No, the Lions have the quarterback again?
- 25:21Speaker 2: What else is on the list?
- 25:24Speaker 1: Yeah? The who else did we have here? Do the
- 25:29Speaker 1: Colts of the quarterback?
- 25:31Speaker 5: No?
- 25:32Speaker 1: Probably not. I I need to see more from Daniel Jones.
- 25:36Speaker 1: The Ravens do, but they don't have other things. I
- 25:39Speaker 1: think that was it for the teams that we like
- 25:40Speaker 1: definitively said had three?
- 25:43Speaker 2: Can we so A J. Brown's one?
- 25:45Speaker 1: Yeah, A Brown's definitely one.
- 25:47Speaker 2: For Dobbs, Henry Henderson, Stevenson. This isn't the point of
- 25:51Speaker 2: the exercise, but I feel like you have to at
- 25:53Speaker 2: least give him like some complimentary points.
- 25:56Speaker 1: If if Ilord just asked me, do the Patriots have
- 25:59Speaker 1: three players who consider playmakers? I would say yes, and
- 26:02Speaker 1: I would say Brown, Stevenson and Dobbs. Yeah. Just gut
- 26:07Speaker 1: check and then you could ask me to find it
- 26:09Speaker 1: and we would do.
- 26:10Speaker 2: What we did. We would get into this right.
- 26:12Speaker 1: If you just asked me when I was preparing for this,
- 26:14Speaker 1: just gut check, do the Patriots have three playmakers?
- 26:16Speaker 6: Yes?
- 26:16Speaker 1: Yes they do, but it depends how you differ. But again,
- 26:21Speaker 1: you can get to I think there's if you do
- 26:24Speaker 1: the three Tuesday players thing, it's too high of a bar.
- 26:28Speaker 1: I don't think one team checks all the box, which,
- 26:30Speaker 1: by the way, could actually be the correct answer, because
- 26:35Speaker 1: we know this. The talent around the league is down,
- 26:37Speaker 1: so the team the best teams right now are not
- 26:40Speaker 1: as good as the best teams of ten years ago.
- 26:41Speaker 1: So maybe there is something too. It is supposed to
- 26:44Speaker 1: be Tuesday players. Nobody fills out the list, but that's
- 26:48Speaker 1: because there are no teams that are as good as
- 26:51Speaker 1: what the standard used to be. That could absolutely be
- 26:54Speaker 1: the case.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Yeah, it's an interesting question. The semantics thing, I think
- 26:58Speaker 2: the Eagles come close. Still, well, I think Monte Smith sequon.
- 27:01Speaker 1: The Eagles have been because there go the last five years,
- 27:05Speaker 1: there have been a better team in football in the Eagles.
- 27:07Speaker 3: No.
- 27:07Speaker 1: I know that there's been other teams maybe that higher
- 27:10Speaker 1: individual ceilings, but over the last five years, Eagles been
- 27:12Speaker 1: the best team in football. I I think we might
- 27:15Speaker 1: have just stumbled on a separate take, which is and
- 27:16Speaker 1: not I mean, I've had this take, but just backed
- 27:18Speaker 1: it up that there's not the league's just not as
- 27:20Speaker 1: good as it was, and that doesn't mean it's gonna
- 27:23Speaker 1: suck forever, and that it's not like the it's not
- 27:25Speaker 1: like an anti NFL take. It's just the talent's not
- 27:28Speaker 1: what it was.
- 27:29Speaker 2: I think in certain areas, I think that there's a
- 27:31Speaker 2: lot of good quarterbacks.
- 27:33Speaker 1: The quarterback talent has gotten better. It's deepen what it was.
- 27:36Speaker 2: I don't know if there's a Brady or the top high,
- 27:39Speaker 2: but I think they're I think more teams have serviceable quarterbacks.
- 27:43Speaker 1: I would agree with that.
- 27:44Speaker 2: All right, let's go on to the uh quality offensive lineman. Okay,
- 27:48Speaker 2: so this one I think is fun too because I
- 27:49Speaker 2: feel like I feel confident saying they have two or three,
- 27:53Speaker 2: and the third one I is a question.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Mark, right, I think they have three.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Morgan, Moses, Mike on Winning I think are check and check. Yes,
- 28:00Speaker 2: both quality offensive line. And we're not talking about future
- 28:03Speaker 2: Hall of famers. We're just talking about I was.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Actually gonna say, Mike go and win win Will Campbell.
- 28:07Speaker 2: So you think Will Campbell is already in the quality
- 28:09Speaker 2: offensive lineman category.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Before he got hurt last year, he was what the
- 28:12Speaker 1: fifteenth ranked left tackle in football?
- 28:14Speaker 2: He was above average.
- 28:15Speaker 1: That's is that not a quality offense?
- 28:16Speaker 2: So then the third guy that I had on the
- 28:18Speaker 2: list was Vera Tucker. I think when Vera Tucker is healthy,
- 28:21Speaker 2: he's a quality.
- 28:22Speaker 1: So I had Campbell, Mose Campbell on Windhu and then
- 28:25Speaker 1: Moses if he's healthy.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Okay, so I had Campbell, Wilson, lomu In like a
- 28:33Speaker 2: not on the list, but they're young bucks, those guys. Campbell,
- 28:37Speaker 2: if he has a good year this year, I might
- 28:39Speaker 2: put him on.
- 28:40Speaker 1: I'll give you. I wasn't even considering Vera Tucker because
- 28:42Speaker 1: I think the injuries are such a question mark. But
- 28:45Speaker 1: if Vera Tucker's healthy, yes, Vera Tucker Moses in on
- 28:48Speaker 1: when who for sure are assuming health? Those are three
- 28:50Speaker 1: guys where you questioned health. But if we're just doing ability,
- 28:53Speaker 1: those are probably their three offensive lineman where you at
- 28:55Speaker 1: least questioned the ability. I think those three guys can
- 28:57Speaker 1: certainly play.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Certainly just based off off of proven NFL snaps, right
- 29:02Speaker 2: like proven consistency in the league. Those three guys went healthy,
- 29:07Speaker 2: have played at that level, So I would say they
- 29:09Speaker 2: checked that box. Now, which if I asked you this
- 29:12Speaker 2: two years ago, how many quality offensive linemen to the
- 29:15Speaker 2: Patriots have on when it would probably be the one
- 29:18Speaker 2: guy that we could say in twenty twenty four was
- 29:20Speaker 2: a quality offensive Lineman. I think the rest of them,
- 29:22Speaker 2: we would say no from twenty four yeah, yeah, maybe
- 29:24Speaker 2: even last year we'd have Moses, we'd have on Wenu
- 29:27Speaker 2: where we have a third.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I think Bradbury was quality.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Do you think Bradberry was quality? Okay, all right, so
- 29:32Speaker 2: I think they checked that box. I actually think they
- 29:34Speaker 2: have depth at that box. Now, Like I think you
- 29:36Speaker 2: made the argument for Campbell, I brought up Vera Tucker
- 29:39Speaker 2: like Jared Wilson takes his eleap at center like he
- 29:42Speaker 2: could be in this conversation, lo Mus obviously waiting in
- 29:45Speaker 2: the wings in this conversation too. That's one of the
- 29:47Speaker 2: deeper spots suddenly for them in this conversation. All right,
- 29:51Speaker 2: let's move over to the defense. Pass rusher. So we're
- 29:54Speaker 2: assuming that the definition to hear a pass rusher is
- 29:57Speaker 2: a sack ten per like a guy off the edge
- 30:01Speaker 2: that's going to sack the quarterback, not an interior disruptor, right,
- 30:06Speaker 2: that would be in the playmaker category. So it's two
- 30:09Speaker 2: pass rushers. I'm gonna give them. Draymond Jones. I think
- 30:13Speaker 2: Draymond Jones is a solid veteran NFL edge rusher. I'm
- 30:18Speaker 2: not wowed by him, but I think it's.
- 30:20Speaker 1: And I'm gonna set that bar ten Sacks. I'm gonna
- 30:22Speaker 1: say no. So no, So we need to rewind. The
- 30:24Speaker 1: Cardinals might have three Tuesday Morning players. We goofed big time.
- 30:28Speaker 2: They have Jeremiah Love, Marvin Harrison Junior, and.
- 30:31Speaker 1: They might have the best tight end. That's how forgettable
- 30:34Speaker 1: the Arizona Cardinals are. I'm not playing for that, but
- 30:36Speaker 1: if Jeremiah Love hits, yeah, Cardinals might have three Tuesday
- 30:38Speaker 1: Morning players. It's kind of crazy. It is funny how
- 30:40Speaker 1: quarterback the Cardinals.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Some of the teams that we named there, like the
- 30:44Speaker 2: Cardinals to an extent, the Colts. Yeah, well there was
- 30:49Speaker 2: another one that I was thinking of that applied here.
- 30:52Speaker 2: A lot of those teams have.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Like just this, oh Atlanta, Yeah, they have just just
- 30:57Speaker 1: the three elite playmakers and nothing, and.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Like they're great for fantasy, Like everybody's gonna draft the
- 31:02Speaker 2: crap out of Falcons playmakers and fantasy football. How many
- 31:05Speaker 2: wins is that going to amount to?
- 31:06Speaker 1: Not a lot?
- 31:07Speaker 2: Not a lot? That that's an interesting point of view
- 31:10Speaker 2: with that. So you're not giving them Draymond Jones. So
- 31:13Speaker 2: if you're not giving them Draymond Jones, then they don't
- 31:15Speaker 2: have this pass rusher box checked off at all.
- 31:17Speaker 1: I think their best chance is for Harold Landry to
- 31:20Speaker 1: be healthy, because he's probably a ten sack guy last
- 31:22Speaker 1: year if he's healthy. But I have my questions about that.
- 31:24Speaker 2: So Draymond Jones gay back as Harold Landry are probably
- 31:28Speaker 2: their best chances. And we don't even know what's going
- 31:29Speaker 2: on with Akis at this point.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I think if Acus or Landry was healthy, i'd
- 31:33Speaker 1: say yes. I think still think Jones is a complimentary rusher.
- 31:35Speaker 1: I don't think he's a guy you build a pass
- 31:37Speaker 1: rush around. He's a good player, and if everybody's healthy,
- 31:40Speaker 1: he's you know, he makes sense in that role. I
- 31:43Speaker 1: worry about him getting elevated to too big of a
- 31:45Speaker 1: role because Acis and Landry aren't available.
- 31:48Speaker 2: So you don't you have Landry as a better player
- 31:52Speaker 2: potentially than Draymond Jones.
- 31:53Speaker 1: If he's fully healthy. I have my doubts about him
- 31:55Speaker 1: being fully healthy.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I guess Draymond Jones was on my
- 31:59Speaker 2: list because of the consistency, like he's going to be available,
- 32:02Speaker 2: he's going to play, he's not hurt.
- 32:04Speaker 1: But yeah, like again, like I said, ed, when we started.
- 32:08Speaker 2: This, he's not enough of an impact player for you,
- 32:11Speaker 2: I mean.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Anybody's what exactly does it say in Jeremi Sweet is
- 32:14Speaker 1: pass rusher? Yes, I mean Elijah Ponder is a pass rusher.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Right, but well he's talking I think about impact.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Play, right, So my mind goes to ten sacks tas
- 32:22Speaker 1: like more there call it call it nine more than
- 32:26Speaker 1: a sack a game, so I guess, or more than
- 32:30Speaker 1: a sack every other game. I guess, uh no, Draymond
- 32:32Speaker 1: Jones highs seven. So that's that's ten games without a
- 32:35Speaker 1: sack over the course of the season. I think to
- 32:37Speaker 1: be an impact pass rusher, you have to get a
- 32:39Speaker 1: sack more often than he don't fair enough.
- 32:41Speaker 2: So I think that that's the most glaring sort of
- 32:45Speaker 2: crack in this foundation for the Patriots, as we probably
- 32:48Speaker 2: knew before we did it.
- 32:49Speaker 1: And again, if if Landry's healthy, or if they make
- 32:52Speaker 1: a move for a guy like Thibodeau or whatever like that,
- 32:54Speaker 1: can they get Thibodeau? I checked that box. I think Thibdeau,
- 32:57Speaker 1: he doesn't emphatically check it, but he checks it.
- 32:59Speaker 2: So the place where they do check the boxes I
- 33:02Speaker 2: think are defensive playmaker. So I actually think they have
- 33:04Speaker 2: a surplus here in Gonzales, Yeah, Milton Williams, Christian Barmore,
- 33:09Speaker 2: I think are the three guys that are definitely this YEP.
- 33:12Speaker 2: I think Kevin Byard. Kevin Byard's in this conversation. I
- 33:16Speaker 2: think Robert Splaine is in this conversation. I think Marcus
- 33:19Speaker 2: Jones might be in.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I think, honestly, the rest of their defense besides.
- 33:22Speaker 2: I think Woods, if he plays like he did in
- 33:24Speaker 2: the playoffs, might be in this.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Conversation the entire defense, besides pass rush.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Right, So they they have three clear cut blue chip
- 33:32Speaker 2: playmakers on defense with Gonzales, Williams, and Barmore.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Though I Byared wasn't all pro last year, I was years.
- 33:38Speaker 1: I'd still call him blue chip. From what we saw
- 33:40Speaker 1: last year, I'd still call him blue chip.
- 33:42Speaker 2: I call him a red chip like level below the
- 33:44Speaker 2: blue like it's not we're not illegally.
- 33:46Speaker 1: But I put Barmore below him. I dropped Barmore.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Do you think barbar is the worst player at his position?
- 33:51Speaker 1: He's been more inconsistent when he's on he's at that level,
- 33:56Speaker 1: but we've seen him be up into eat. He has
- 33:58Speaker 1: quiet stretches. He's dominant, but he's quiet stretched.
- 34:01Speaker 2: So this is maybe a little unfair to Barmore, but
- 34:06Speaker 2: in my opinion, post blood clots, but Barmore has not
- 34:10Speaker 2: been the same guy.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and there's that and that, and that's not his
- 34:13Speaker 1: fault at all.
- 34:14Speaker 2: You know, that's not knocking him for it. But the
- 34:19Speaker 2: twenty twenty three Christian Barmore, that was, you know, sacking.
- 34:24Speaker 1: The best player on that team.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know we had to retire him from
- 34:28Speaker 2: three up, three down, eight and a half sacks he
- 34:32Speaker 2: Quinn Minors in Denver, remember in his lunch two sacks
- 34:35Speaker 2: in that game on Christmas Eve. Like that Barmore, the suddenness,
- 34:39Speaker 2: his flexibility, his bend and just sort of his fluidity.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Right now, I feel like Barmore is playing pretty upright
- 34:48Speaker 2: and pretty stiff. Old Barmore, I feel like was a
- 34:51Speaker 2: little bit looser with his movements. Hopefully he can get
- 34:54Speaker 2: back to that kind of guy, yeah, because then he's
- 34:56Speaker 2: more Milton william Z than he is you know what
- 35:00Speaker 2: is now? But I think that they checked that box
- 35:02Speaker 2: pretty easily playmaker. I think it just a question is
- 35:05Speaker 2: how many of them do they have right and is.
- 35:07Speaker 1: It enough to offset the issues with the pass rush.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Right, So let's count the players. So they have they
- 35:13Speaker 2: need twelve? Right, they have may they have aj Browne.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Are we giving them Remandre Did we decide on that? Yeah,
- 35:21Speaker 2: Remondre Stevenson, Morgan, Moses, mike on Winu. Now we're at
- 35:25Speaker 2: five offensive line. You had Campbell, I had arre At Tucker.
- 35:29Speaker 1: So I guess we'll giving them a sixth somewhere.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Somewhere in there. Six and then we're giving them Gonzales, Williams,
- 35:35Speaker 2: Barmore or whatever.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Can we give them extra from there and make up
- 35:39Speaker 1: the difference?
- 35:40Speaker 2: So they have nine out of twelve spots right now,
- 35:42Speaker 2: what we're looking at is maybe a little bit more
- 35:45Speaker 2: firepower at the playmaker positions and pass rushers true edge rush,
- 35:50Speaker 2: you know, pass rush off the edge, so close, they're
- 35:53Speaker 2: a lot closer than they were.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Should we go back to uh twenty four? Jonah for
- 36:01Speaker 1: the sake of how much they added? We counted rookie
- 36:04Speaker 1: Drake May.
- 36:06Speaker 2: I mean what we know of him now, sure, but
- 36:09Speaker 2: I don't know if we're counting him as rookie.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Right, uh, Antonio Gibson, Trell Jennings, Rmandra Stevens and Javon Baker,
- 36:15Speaker 1: Kendrick Bourne, Kaishawan, Boody Tomorrow, Douglas, Jalen Polk, Jahem Bell, Hunter, Henry,
- 36:19Speaker 1: Austin Hooper, Jack west Over, any playmakers Remandre yep, so
- 36:23Speaker 1: it's one.
- 36:24Speaker 2: I think Hunter, Henry to.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Two offensive line. We can just probably because even on
- 36:30Speaker 1: Whn who did not have a good year.
- 36:32Speaker 2: If it was just on, if it was anybody.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Uh, I think that's right. They didn't even have Judon
- 36:38Speaker 1: was gone at that so they real didn't have a
- 36:40Speaker 1: pass rush like ke On White, No d trip wise,
- 36:42Speaker 1: no defensive playmakers. I guess Gonzales still on. John Jones.
- 36:48Speaker 1: I like John Jones, but I don't know if he's
- 36:50Speaker 1: like Count Duggar.
- 36:53Speaker 2: No, Pepper's maybe then that season Pepper's played well twenty
- 36:57Speaker 2: four Yeah, no, twenty four the season was gone half
- 37:00Speaker 2: the year.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Oh twenty three was the year he played. Yeah no, yeah,
- 37:05Speaker 1: so this is the end of the year roster. So
- 37:07Speaker 1: Barbour was on IR, Joe Bettley was on IR. Sneppers
- 37:10Speaker 1: was on IR.
- 37:11Speaker 2: So even if we gave them bar More off of IR.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Yeah, we're talking.
- 37:13Speaker 2: About four guys, maybe four or five, yes, and at
- 37:17Speaker 2: nine and we're night and probably more we're capped at
- 37:19Speaker 2: three on defense, but we acknowledge that there is more
- 37:22Speaker 2: and we I think the playmaker line we drew was
- 37:25Speaker 2: pretty tough that we grew. We drew a pretty high bar.
- 37:27Speaker 2: So they're they're they're they're getting close. I like the
- 37:30Speaker 2: exercise though. I like those types of exercises. I know
- 37:34Speaker 2: Jeremiah shares Belichick's scouting notes all the time too, and
- 37:39Speaker 2: these sort of foundational exercises like that, They're close. I
- 37:43Speaker 2: think pass rusher is the one gap they need to
- 37:44Speaker 2: really fill, as we know, and we'll see, We'll see
- 37:47Speaker 2: if Romeo Dobbs can elevate to true playmaker status. Yeah,
- 37:51Speaker 2: and Henderson, I would say too. You know Romandre and Henry.
- 37:54Speaker 2: I think we kind of know who they are. Yeah,
- 37:56Speaker 2: maybe Henderson, maybe Dobbs. Are you ready to talk about
- 37:59Speaker 2: the Bills?
- 37:59Speaker 3: Ye?
- 38:00Speaker 1: Reduced with the Bills.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Let's do it.
- 38:01Speaker 1: They do the quarterback.
- 38:03Speaker 2: They do have a quarterback.
- 38:04Speaker 1: I don't think they have three playmakers.
- 38:06Speaker 2: So we're not giving them Dj Moore, No, but we are.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Giving like six hundred yards last year.
- 38:11Speaker 2: But we are giving them James give James Cook.
- 38:13Speaker 1: I would probably give them Kincaid before I gave them more.
- 38:18Speaker 1: But I'm not. Actually no, I'll give them two. I'll
- 38:20Speaker 1: give them cook and I'll give them Shakuiir.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Oh right, we forgot about your car.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I'll give them cooking, Shakira or two. I
- 38:26Speaker 1: don't think King Kaid's there, and I don't think more
- 38:28Speaker 1: is there.
- 38:29Speaker 2: I think Kinkaid's too situational guy that only really plays
- 38:32Speaker 2: in the passing game. DJ Moore will see if he
- 38:34Speaker 2: has his career renaissance with Buffalo or not. Knox is
- 38:38Speaker 2: like a more well rounded tight end than Kincaid, but
- 38:40Speaker 2: he's not up the pass that level. Yeah, that needs
- 38:44Speaker 2: to be here, and that's pretty much it. But we
- 38:47Speaker 2: forgot about Shaquir So Shakiir James Cook. Yeah, nothing after that.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Offensive line they definitely have.
- 38:53Speaker 1: They have Dawkins is regressing but can still do it.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Censor Brown when healthy, can still do it. Yeah, and
- 38:59Speaker 1: Torrents Frence.
- 39:00Speaker 2: They did lose David Edwards, who I think is an
- 39:02Speaker 2: important player for them, but their offensive line is really good.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Defensively, it's dark dark And this was a conversation that
- 39:10Speaker 2: I wanted to bring up in the picture. Last year
- 39:14Speaker 2: they were twentieth in DVOA. On defense, they did not
- 39:18Speaker 2: stop Bo Nixon or that bradcas offense in that playoff game.
- 39:21Speaker 2: I know that the way the game ended, Josh Allen's
- 39:23Speaker 2: turnovers are a big part of that as well why
- 39:26Speaker 2: they lost that game.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Thank you for admitting that.
- 39:29Speaker 2: But the defense I would say was really just couldn't
- 39:32Speaker 2: get a stop at all in that game. Either, they're
- 39:35Speaker 2: completely kind of rebuilding this defense.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Pass rusher you count Bradley Chubb at this point.
- 39:38Speaker 2: No, I think Bradley Chub's way over the hill. But
- 39:40Speaker 2: I would give them Greg Russo.
- 39:43Speaker 1: So, okay, so they have the pass rusher with Rousseau.
- 39:44Speaker 2: They have won they needed too.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Is that what the thing is? Yes, the Patriots definitely
- 39:48Speaker 1: don't have it either. We're just looking for one. No,
- 39:50Speaker 1: we need to Okay, so they've Russell, that's one.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Yeah, they know Bradley Chubb, but just Bradley Chubb might
- 39:55Speaker 2: be one of the worst free agent contracts of the offense.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Is he the latest? What it was Bosa was Vaughn
- 40:00Speaker 1: Miller was yeah, yeah, So no on the pass rusher
- 40:04Speaker 1: and then who I mean, I'll give him at Oliver.
- 40:06Speaker 2: At Oliver Benfort's a really good player at corner.
- 40:08Speaker 1: All right, I'll give Benford.
- 40:09Speaker 2: But their safety group right now is regressing, you know, CJ.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Gardner Johnson at this stage, and I don't know, they
- 40:15Speaker 2: don't have that hide and employer thing going on anymore
- 40:18Speaker 2: that they once did.
- 40:19Speaker 1: So do you give him degon Walker? It was pretty
- 40:21Speaker 1: good last year we played.
- 40:22Speaker 2: He's pretty good for his role. You know, he's a
- 40:24Speaker 2: nose tackle. Uh No, I Terre Bernard at metal linebacker?
- 40:29Speaker 2: Might be he's a he's a really solid linebacker. Like
- 40:31Speaker 2: if we're going to give the Patriots Roberts plane, we
- 40:33Speaker 2: probably haven't given them.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Not gonna Okay, So then so so what is this?
- 40:39Speaker 1: So that gives him one? Two, three, four, five, six,
- 40:42Speaker 1: seven eight?
- 40:44Speaker 2: They have two on D three on defense?
- 40:48Speaker 1: Quarterbacks?
- 40:49Speaker 3: Fo?
- 40:50Speaker 1: Yeah, are we giving them shack here?
- 40:52Speaker 2: I think we have to give him an eight? They
- 40:54Speaker 2: have eight and the Patriots have nine.
- 40:55Speaker 1: All right, So that that I think that's an accurate representation.
- 40:58Speaker 2: There you go. See that was fair and balanced, wasn't it.
- 41:01Speaker 1: Yes, But you've been saying the Bills better than the Patriots.
- 41:04Speaker 2: So here here's my big picture take on the Bills,
- 41:07Speaker 2: and we'll go a little bit deeper on some of
- 41:08Speaker 2: these things. So at this point, this is gut check
- 41:13Speaker 2: time for Buffalo. This is rubber meets the time.
- 41:16Speaker 1: Were they not like two years ago?
- 41:18Speaker 2: No, Josh Allen just turned thirty years old.
- 41:21Speaker 1: I mean it was two years ago, but continue, Josh
- 41:22Speaker 1: Allen just.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Turned thirty years old. They changed head coaches to try
- 41:28Speaker 2: to ignite this thing.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Yeah, try to start this thing.
- 41:32Speaker 2: I don't know what the word is, to try to
- 41:34Speaker 2: get over the hump, to try to get this team
- 41:36Speaker 2: further in the playoffs. Sean McDermott, though, for all of
- 41:39Speaker 2: his faults, Sean McDermott gave them a floor that you
- 41:43Speaker 2: knew they were going to be a ten plus win team,
- 41:46Speaker 2: probably with the Josh Allen Sean McDermott bills. We don't
- 41:52Speaker 2: know what the floor is with Joe Brady because Joe
- 41:53Speaker 2: Brady has never coached as a head coach in the NFL,
- 41:56Speaker 2: So his floor could be six games, it could be ten,
- 41:59Speaker 2: it could be twelve. We don't know. What we do
- 42:02Speaker 2: know is Sean McDermott's ceiling was not good enough. It
- 42:05Speaker 2: was at most they made it to an AFC Championship
- 42:10Speaker 2: game during the COVID year. They got their doors blown
- 42:13Speaker 2: off in that game, and we're not competitive and have
- 42:15Speaker 2: not advanced past a divisional round since. So this is
- 42:19Speaker 2: a big, big swing for Buffalo. But I think one
- 42:21Speaker 2: that do you agree was necessary to finally move on
- 42:24Speaker 2: from McDermott.
- 42:25Speaker 1: I think it was necessary to move on for McDermott.
- 42:27Speaker 1: I think replacing him with Joe Brady defeats the purpose
- 42:33Speaker 1: of why it was necessary, So you would have replayed
- 42:37Speaker 1: they need an outside higher, they needed an outside higher.
- 42:40Speaker 1: I think part of the problem was internal. I think
- 42:43Speaker 1: it was too much reliance on Josh Allen. I think
- 42:46Speaker 1: it was a neglect of the rest of the roster.
- 42:48Speaker 1: I think it was a play style tailored towards Josh
- 42:52Speaker 1: is going to do everything and he's just no quarterback.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Is that good for them to ask Josh Allen to
- 42:58Speaker 1: do everything they're doing. Keep out of criticizing Josh Allen here,
- 43:01Speaker 1: I want that to be clear. And I just think
- 43:04Speaker 1: Joe Brady as somebody as the offensive coordinator who probably
- 43:06Speaker 1: enabled that. And I don't know how much that changes,
- 43:09Speaker 1: and for I don't know that Josh Allen has a
- 43:11Speaker 1: problem with the entire city of Buffalo being put on
- 43:13Speaker 1: his shoulders. I think what they needed is somebody who
- 43:15Speaker 1: told him that that can't be the case. There was
- 43:18Speaker 1: also some stuff about how much did he know ahead
- 43:20Speaker 1: of time about them moving on for McDermott, how much
- 43:22Speaker 1: was he involved in the Higher. The whole thing felt
- 43:25Speaker 1: like they fired McDermott because they needed they knew they
- 43:27Speaker 1: needed to, but they didn't have a plan.
- 43:30Speaker 2: I think that they might have fired McDermott in a
- 43:34Speaker 2: reactionary way. And I say might have because I don't
- 43:37Speaker 2: know this for a fact, cover the pillows. I'm not there.
- 43:39Speaker 2: But it felt reactionary to how dramatic of a playoff loss.
- 43:44Speaker 1: That was, So I would go the other well, maybe.
- 43:46Speaker 2: And I just feel like they felt like they needed
- 43:49Speaker 2: to do something.
- 43:51Speaker 1: But I think the fire was firing was justified at
- 43:55Speaker 1: a certain point.
- 43:56Speaker 2: We especially the way he resolved himself that after the
- 43:59Speaker 2: game was not great, but calling reporters from the team
- 44:02Speaker 2: playing to vent more about the officiating at the end
- 44:05Speaker 2: of the game was.
- 44:06Speaker 1: But I actually think what was reactionary was the Higher.
- 44:08Speaker 1: I think Buffalo got really attached, like the fan base
- 44:11Speaker 1: got really attached Sean McDermott because the team had been
- 44:13Speaker 1: so bad for so long. He made them relevant. The
- 44:15Speaker 1: fan base freaked out ownership saw them freaking out and
- 44:18Speaker 1: it's well, no, it's like he's still here because look,
- 44:22Speaker 1: it's this guy who he picked, who was right here
- 44:23Speaker 1: with them, and that's not what they needed. An outside voice,
- 44:28Speaker 1: a complete change they needed. Yes, they needed to overhaul.
- 44:32Speaker 1: I mean, you know, it's not exactly apples to apples
- 44:34Speaker 1: because the roster is different. When the Patriots went from
- 44:38Speaker 1: Belichick to Mayo, they got kind of stuck in this
- 44:41Speaker 1: halfway point of is this a new regime or is
- 44:45Speaker 1: this just the same stuff with a different face. And
- 44:47Speaker 1: I and the Patriots not the only organization. A number
- 44:49Speaker 1: of organizations have done that, and I just don't think
- 44:52Speaker 1: that's a healthy place to be. I think they needed
- 44:54Speaker 1: to go. My my bigger issues who they replaced McDermott
- 44:58Speaker 1: with the moving on from I think it was Tom
- 45:00Speaker 1: from him, they needed to do better in replacing them.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I definitely think it was time to move on
- 45:06Speaker 2: from him because they there's just too much failure in
- 45:10Speaker 2: the playoffs. At some point, you had you.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Have one of there has to be accountability.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Yeah, there you have one of, if not the best
- 45:16Speaker 2: quarterback in the league. He's not going anywhere. It's not
- 45:19Speaker 2: Josh Allen's problem this is figuring out the right collection
- 45:22Speaker 2: of people around Josh Allen. I think the one thing
- 45:25Speaker 2: that bothered me about McDermott's exit was I felt like
- 45:28Speaker 2: the bigger culprit for their failure this year and even
- 45:32Speaker 2: the last two years has been the decaying of the roster.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Yeah so there, but they kept but they kept the
- 45:37Speaker 1: GM and they're that thing too. Yes, they should have
- 45:41Speaker 1: fired both and they should have gone outside the or so.
- 45:44Speaker 1: I guess what I'm saying about keeping Joe Brady, I
- 45:45Speaker 1: forgot about the Bean thing. That's a good point. Is
- 45:48Speaker 1: probably a symptom of because he's one of Bean's got
- 45:51Speaker 1: he was with Bean in in Carolina, right.
- 45:53Speaker 2: I don't know if they overlapped, but they both.
- 45:56Speaker 1: There's got to be an overlap there somewhere. Well.
- 45:58Speaker 2: I think the thing would with Brady was just to
- 46:01Speaker 2: let's not mess with the Josh Allen recipe.
- 46:05Speaker 1: And but the Josh Allen recipe I'm saying is what's
- 46:09Speaker 1: broke is a part of what's broken.
- 46:11Speaker 2: But they're gonna be on paper and I don't see
- 46:15Speaker 2: any reason why they won't be. The Bills are gonna
- 46:18Speaker 2: have one of the best offenses in the league like
- 46:21Speaker 2: Josh Allen, Shakir Kincaid, James Cook, that offensive line, the
- 46:27Speaker 2: same scheme that they'd be running. They're gonna be one
- 46:29Speaker 2: of the top five offenses in the NFL in scoring.
- 46:33Speaker 2: No doubt their defense, like I said earlier, twentieth and
- 46:36Speaker 2: Dvoa on defense, and I don't really think that they've
- 46:38Speaker 2: really done a ton unless you really believe in like
- 46:42Speaker 2: Bradley Chubb and d Alford and CJ. Gardner. Johnson is
- 46:46Speaker 2: my grades.
- 46:46Speaker 1: It's all tailored towards Josh Allen when you need a
- 46:49Speaker 1: more well rounded team.
- 46:51Speaker 2: And I just don't think enough is being Maybe it
- 46:54Speaker 2: is being talked about in Buffalo, but I don't think
- 46:56Speaker 2: enough is being talked about how much their roster defensively age.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Because talking about that is to acknowledge that Josh Allen's
- 47:04Speaker 1: not perfect, and people refuse to do that.
- 47:06Speaker 2: I just think that we're pointing the blame in wrong
- 47:08Speaker 2: directions at times.
- 47:10Speaker 1: Like No, if the offense is fine and the defense
- 47:13Speaker 1: has been left to rot, why would you not bring
- 47:17Speaker 1: in somebody with the specialty on defense.
- 47:19Speaker 2: Or why would you know just be better at adding
- 47:22Speaker 2: talent on defense, Like I don't.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Know well, both are true.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I don't know when you look at their defense,
- 47:29Speaker 2: when you remember their defense for US, it's Milano, it's Edmunds,
- 47:34Speaker 2: it's Trey White, it's those types of players. It's a
- 47:37Speaker 2: Poyer and Micah Hyde at safety. That was like the
- 47:41Speaker 2: foundation of their defense when they really started get rolling
- 47:44Speaker 2: with Josh Allen at twenty nineteen, twenty twenty, it was
- 47:47Speaker 2: that group, and they were just as good defensively as
- 47:50Speaker 2: they were offensively at that point in time. Now, none
- 47:54Speaker 2: of those guys are there anymore. Right, They've completely tried
- 47:56Speaker 2: to tearn over the roster there, and I just don't
- 47:58Speaker 2: know if they've done the great job of it.
- 47:59Speaker 1: Because again, so I guess to bridge what we're saying,
- 48:02Speaker 1: I guess firing McDermott was a half measure. Yeah, and
- 48:07Speaker 1: I they should.
- 48:08Speaker 2: The fact that they didn't just clean house, right is
- 48:11Speaker 2: I think a little bit of fear of that floor
- 48:14Speaker 2: of like we have this franchise quarterback.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Is it that floor or they thought they were going
- 48:17Speaker 1: to upset Josh Allen.
- 48:19Speaker 2: Both. I think that they had this quarterback, the franchise
- 48:22Speaker 2: you know, star quarterback, and Josh Allen. They didn't want
- 48:25Speaker 2: to upset him too much and rock the boat with
- 48:26Speaker 2: him too much. They also didn't want to set him
- 48:30Speaker 2: up to fail, and all of a sudden, he's got
- 48:32Speaker 2: a coach in a GM that's new and maybe not
- 48:34Speaker 2: ready for it or not the right higher and now
- 48:36Speaker 2: you're going really back.
- 48:37Speaker 1: So instead they kept everything the same and and got
- 48:41Speaker 1: rid of McDermott. Right, that's not that big of a
- 48:43Speaker 1: change at the end of the day. I don't think No,
- 48:45Speaker 1: I don't think so either.
- 48:47Speaker 3: You know.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Now, the one thing schematically I would just point to to.
- 48:50Speaker 2: You know, obviously, offensively they're going to be exactly the same.
- 48:53Speaker 2: But Joe Brady tires Jim Leonard from Wisconsin, from Denver
- 48:57Speaker 2: as the defensive coordinator, they're going to be a totally
- 49:00Speaker 2: different defense. And I mentioned that group of players that
- 49:03Speaker 2: we got accustomed to seeing in Buffalo, Alex. We also
- 49:06Speaker 2: got to accustomed to seeing four to three over nickel
- 49:09Speaker 2: for them for like ten years. Right, McDermott ran the
- 49:11Speaker 2: same zone based defense for three over front base nickel defense.
- 49:17Speaker 2: That was their defense for the entire mcdermoty era. Jim
- 49:20Speaker 2: Leonard runs a three four. He runs a very different system.
- 49:23Speaker 2: I think there's gonna be a lot more some of
- 49:27Speaker 2: the scheme bells and whistles on defense, some of the
- 49:29Speaker 2: newer ideas, newer innovations on defense as well. But it
- 49:34Speaker 2: will be interesting to see how some of their personnel
- 49:37Speaker 2: translates to a true odd front, three four defense. Like
- 49:42Speaker 2: Ed Oliver is not going to be all the time
- 49:44Speaker 2: a true three technique anymore. Now he's gonna play like
- 49:47Speaker 2: as a defensive end, you know, a three four end.
- 49:51Speaker 2: You know guys like you know their linebackers. They bring
- 49:54Speaker 2: in Rousseau, they bring in Bradley Chubb to kind of
- 49:57Speaker 2: be like stand up like Willie McGuinness, you know those
- 50:00Speaker 2: types of linebackers. You know that that's gonna be a
- 50:03Speaker 2: different model. I'm so used to seeing Buffalo in a
- 50:06Speaker 2: four down front, and they're not gonna be in a
- 50:07Speaker 2: four down front anymore. So that's gonna be very, very different.
- 50:11Speaker 2: They're in an interesting spot. They're they're in a I
- 50:14Speaker 2: hear what you're saying about their roster and about their
- 50:17Speaker 2: direction that they're going in. I think Josh Allen gives
- 50:21Speaker 2: them a floor that's pretty high. I think they're gonna
- 50:23Speaker 2: be one of the best offenses in football. It's gonna
- 50:26Speaker 2: be the rest of it, just like it has been
- 50:28Speaker 2: coaching defense. How it comes down to it in late
- 50:31Speaker 2: game situations where where do you.
- 50:34Speaker 1: And just say, Josh Allen can only cover up for
- 50:35Speaker 1: so much.
- 50:37Speaker 2: You can only cover up so much. He is always
- 50:39Speaker 2: balanced and part of what makes him so fun to
- 50:43Speaker 2: watch is part of this. But he's always had to
- 50:46Speaker 2: balance and I think Drake May is going through this
- 50:48Speaker 2: right now. You have to walk that line of when
- 50:51Speaker 2: to put the superman cap on and when to just
- 50:54Speaker 2: play conventional, safe football. Yeah, and it tends to happen
- 50:59Speaker 2: with Josh Allen that he starts to play Superman football
- 51:03Speaker 2: when they're pressing and they're in a playoff game like
- 51:05Speaker 2: they were last year in Denver, and it's not the
- 51:09Speaker 2: best of him. It doesn't bring out the best in
- 51:11Speaker 2: him when he does that. Yes, the plays are individually,
- 51:14Speaker 2: some of those plays are really cool. The underhand flips
- 51:17Speaker 2: and the scrambles and running through guys and things like that.
- 51:21Speaker 2: All those things are cool to watch, but they're volatile.
- 51:25Speaker 2: He turns the ball over, he starts to get reckless.
- 51:28Speaker 2: You know, he has that turnover before halftime in the
- 51:30Speaker 2: game against Denver that was just terrible. You know, you
- 51:33Speaker 2: just can't do that. That's always going to be one
- 51:36Speaker 2: of those things with him. I think all the quarterbacks
- 51:38Speaker 2: that are as toolsy as he has. I think the
- 51:40Speaker 2: one that I remember from like the beginning part of
- 51:42Speaker 2: our football lexicon is probably like Brett Favre right, you know,
- 51:47Speaker 2: like when do you know when to You don't need
- 51:50Speaker 2: to bring the you know, the big guns to every
- 51:54Speaker 2: single fight, Like sometimes you just want to hit singles.
- 51:57Speaker 2: You don't always have to hit home runs. He's always
- 51:59Speaker 2: walked that line. So we didn't argue too much about it. No,
- 52:03Speaker 2: I feel like we're in a similar spot. You still
- 52:06Speaker 2: feel like.
- 52:06Speaker 1: You just acknowledge potential aggression, which you wouldn't do the
- 52:09Speaker 1: other week.
- 52:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I was probably doing it just to mess with you.
- 52:12Speaker 2: Probably how many wins you think Buffalo has.
- 52:18Speaker 1: Ten or eleven somewhere in there.
- 52:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna give I was gonna say eleven or twelve.
- 52:24Speaker 2: I'm gonna be a little higher than you on that,
- 52:26Speaker 2: But similar spot. All right, We're gonna take a quick break.

- 56:02Speaker 1: What do you? It's another one of these spin games.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Instead of build out hang on, Well there, people are
- 56:09Speaker 1: making them every day. It's build a quarterback, so it
- 56:11Speaker 1: gives you. Let me see, what are the traits arm legs?
- 56:14Speaker 1: Would you speed, build, processing, leadership, vision, playmaking, slash creativity, accuracy,
- 56:21Speaker 1: slash touch in pocket presence And I'm doing one and
- 56:24Speaker 1: I just got Joe Milton and I still have arm
- 56:27Speaker 1: strength available, so we're gonna go. So far this is
- 56:30Speaker 1: hang on, child.
- 56:32Speaker 7: It's like like SIMS Football, like build your own quarterback.
- 56:36Speaker 1: Yeah, kind of all right, So so far we have
- 56:38Speaker 1: Joe Milton's arm, Jalen Milro's legs, Jalen Hurts build, Tyrod
- 56:42Speaker 1: Taylor's leadership, and Cam Ward's playmaking.
- 56:45Speaker 2: Tyrod Taylor's.
- 56:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I got Tyrod Taylor. I'd already used my respend.
- 56:50Speaker 2: Tyrod Taylor's all of a sudden, just this big time
- 56:53Speaker 2: Tom Brady esque leaders going up down.
- 56:59Speaker 1: I have to use eighth in calliac manus who Yeah,
- 57:02Speaker 1: I'll use pocket presidence exactly.
- 57:05Speaker 2: I don't even know who that is.
- 57:07Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford processing or vision for Matthew Stafford.
- 57:10Speaker 2: What's the difference.
- 57:12Speaker 1: I don't know. It gives his vision an A plus,
- 57:13Speaker 1: So I'll go. I'll go that last one forty nine
- 57:16Speaker 1: ers mac Jones processing, So here we go mac Jones processing,
- 57:21Speaker 1: Joe Flacco's accuracy, Joe Milton's arm, Jalen Milrose legs, Stafford's vision, Tyrod,
- 57:27Speaker 1: Taylor's leadership, cam Ward's playmaking, Jalen Hurts build, and eighth
- 57:32Speaker 1: in caliac manus his pocket presence. So then you put
- 57:34Speaker 1: him on a team. So this is gonna put him
- 57:37Speaker 1: on the Steelers, and then you sim him the season
- 57:42Speaker 1: and it's still they're still gonna go eight. Yeah, they
- 57:45Speaker 1: went nine and I went nine and eight and they
- 57:48Speaker 1: missed the playoffs.
- 57:49Speaker 2: They are the perfect the stats.
- 57:51Speaker 1: Though, third nine hundred yards, twenty six touchdowns, thirteen picks,
- 57:54Speaker 1: seven hundred rush yards, eight rushing touchdowns, forty five sacks.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Thanks eighth in calliack Man.
- 58:00Speaker 2: That was fun, do you I think is the reason
- 58:02Speaker 2: why they won nine games. Taylor's leadership, He just for
- 58:08Speaker 2: your honor, those entire So it gives grades for each
- 58:12Speaker 2: his best grade leadership.
- 58:15Speaker 1: They gave him a B. They give him a B.
- 58:18Speaker 1: He has a B for leadership. That's not my worst grade.
- 58:20Speaker 1: Joe mac Jones processing was worse and eighthan calliyg Manus's
- 58:23Speaker 1: pocket press funny.
- 58:25Speaker 2: All right, let's get to these calls because guys have
- 58:26Speaker 2: been waiting. Patty's an aguan. What's up, Patty?
- 58:30Speaker 4: What's going on? Jens?
- 58:31Speaker 2: How we doing.
- 58:34Speaker 4: Doing good today? So Alex, I wanted to let you
- 58:38Speaker 4: know first, first off, I headed twenty and oh and
- 58:43Speaker 4: I won't I won't get into the lineup because you know,
- 58:45Speaker 4: nobody wants to hear that. But Brian had submitted on
- 58:49Speaker 4: Pet's pulpit. I don't know if it's okay if I
- 58:51Speaker 4: bring those those guys up, of course on the show.
- 58:55Speaker 4: But a mail bag question. The mail bag question I
- 58:57Speaker 4: had you guys were kind of covering it to start
- 58:59Speaker 4: the show, and that is and I'll pose it to
- 59:03Speaker 4: you guys. Do you do you think you know, just
- 59:07Speaker 4: throw it out there, yes or no? A simple close
- 59:09Speaker 4: ended question. Do you think May does take a leap
- 59:11Speaker 4: another little leap this year? You know, being in the
- 59:14Speaker 4: same offensive system for the second year in a row,
- 59:18Speaker 4: probably a better offensive line. You got to kind of
- 59:21Speaker 4: bank on that. Wilson and and and Campbell are going
- 59:25Speaker 4: to have jumps, even if they're slight, you know, and
- 59:29Speaker 4: if he does, you know, can you see them or
- 59:32Speaker 4: can you see him kind of carrying the defense in
- 59:35Speaker 4: a couple of games only because the one thing I'm
- 59:38Speaker 4: very still worried about is I know variable said he's
- 59:41Speaker 4: not worried about the edge, but we have a great
- 59:44Speaker 4: cornerback room you can't cover forever. We're gonna have to
- 59:47Speaker 4: get pressure on the quarterback. And do you see like
- 59:51Speaker 4: them just throwing together a crazy offense where they have
- 59:54Speaker 4: to like outscore a couple of good teams here and there,
- 59:57Speaker 4: and I'll take it off there.
- 59:58Speaker 2: Guys, Thanks for the call. I think that's a good
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: way of putting it, you know, other than I brought
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: up the sacks earlier and maybe getting those numbers down
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: a little bit. But I also think that it's kind
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: of when it happens to like, can you win a
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: game thirty eight thirty five against Josh Allen? Can you
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: win a game? You know? Right now, he's only I
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: believe the Baltimore comeback is technically the only comeback that
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: he's ever had in the second half of a game.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: Can you win games in clutch moments? Can you go
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: on those game winning drives, you know, consistently and have
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: one of those years where you have three or four
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: of them. You know, if you need to against these
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: good teams, he's going to be tested in those ways
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: more than he was last year. Last year they were
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: just better than most of the teams that they were playing.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: It's I think that that's another part of it that's
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: maybe a little bit more intangible. You know, we do
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: have stuff that measures fourth quarter comebacks, game winning drives,
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: but really it's more intangible of the feel of the game.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: Like this game was a shootout and Drake May was
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: able to outshoot Josh Allen or they were they played
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: Detroit in U in Germany and he's able to win
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: thirty five thirty two against Jared Goffin, Jim Jamior Gibbs
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: and I'm on Ross Saint Brown and a really good
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: Detroit offense. Those are the things that I think are
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: fair in terms of leaps, you know, things you might
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: be looking for in terms of leaps.
- 1:01:18Speaker 9: Uh.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: You know. The other stuff I think is is more tangible,
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: but that that's might be a little bit into intangible.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: You know, how do you measure clutch?
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, look, he's gonna have to get there eventually,
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Like if you want to if he's gonna take this
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: step and be that MVP is gonna have together. I
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: do think another year in the offense helps, not just
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: because of familiarity, but he's gonna be able to take
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: another step in it. No real NFL offense in full
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: can be learned in a year like As these guys
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: stay in the system, more and more gets put on
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: their plate. He really hasn't been able to do that.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: Now he's gonna have a chance, which is gonna put
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: more tools at his disposal, which is gonna help them.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Yeah, agreed. I think last year, and I brought this
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: point up at some point along the way here, I
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: did start to see, especially in the playoffs, some repid
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: tiss to their offense a couple of different ways, just
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: route concepts. They'd started to run a lot of the
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: same route concepts over and over again. The other thing
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: that my buddy Nate Tice on Twitter was talking a
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: little bit about the other day, they started to get
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: repetitive a little bit with their pass protection plan. They
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: were kind of sliding the pass protections in the same
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: directions every single time. They were having the half slide
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: side to his arm side and then man to man
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: on the backside, and I think teams like Seattle started
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: to pick up on that and they started adding blitzers
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: onto where the protection was vulnerable. And like having multiple
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: answers to protections like that is sort of part of
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: that next maturation for him, where Okay, we need to
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: add a body to the slide side. We're going to
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: slide for and keep one here man to man backside
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: because they're showing pressure off that side. Or you know,
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: the running back is dual reading in the backfield, he
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: can't big if they bring both of their edges, you know,
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: their nickels, their corners, they can't bock both of them right,
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: So you know, we're gonna slide one way, We're gonna
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: keep the running back the other way. And that's how
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: we're going to pick it up. Like those are the
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: types of things that I think are are part of
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: helping him. If you want to talk about things that
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: he xes and knows whise can do to be better,
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: that would probably be it, and then that would be
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: a big picture would help him in the long run.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Andrews in West Roxbury, what's up? Andrew?
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: Hey, what's going on?
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: Fellows?
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: How we do.
- 1:03:25Speaker 12: I'm good, I'm good. Like, I think everyone is pretty
- 1:03:29Speaker 12: excited about Drake May's second second season and A J.
- 1:03:34Speaker 12: Brown coming to town, but I know you guys have
- 1:03:36Speaker 12: mentioned I'm really.
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: Excited about the the prospect of unlocking the run game
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: just because it really seemed like Drake and the offense
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: got really one dimensional last year and and the clutch
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: thing that you're just talking about really worries me a lot.
- 1:03:54Speaker 5: So I'm I'm big, big excited for for hopefully running
- 1:03:59Speaker 5: kind of like mid two thousd when Brady was here
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: and like le Garrett Blunt thinking that year where they
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: they ran the ball I think more than anyone in
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: the league, and that kind of brings me well, and
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: and play action uh taking place there as well, But
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: that kind of brings me just to something I wanted
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: to leave you with, which was a cross sports metaphor saw.
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: I'm a tennis player, and what what that kind of
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: run game pass game thing reminds me of is like
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: the forehand backhand trade off. So if you imagine like
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: a player who just has this crushing forehand but a
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: really kind of weak backhand, well all of his opponents
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: are just going to hit it to his backhand, So
- 1:04:40Speaker 5: you might have a good forehand, but it's not effective.
- 1:04:42Speaker 12: So that the way you really get your forehand a
- 1:04:45Speaker 12: lot more effective is you know, might be counterintuitive, but
- 1:04:48Speaker 12: you get your backhand a lot better, and that that
- 1:04:51Speaker 12: kind of balance is at your game. So I wanted.
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: To give you that and take it off the air.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: Thanks guys, Yeah, thanks, and thanks for the call. Yeah,
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: that's good. That's a good comparison. I think, you know,
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: what are some of the things that Mike Rabel has
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: talked about with the running game, which I think is
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: still ring true. Last year they had a lot of
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: big runs, especially from Treyvon Henderson. So they ended up
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: finishing fourteenth in yards per carry average. They had four
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: point four yards to carry. It's fourteenth in the NFL.
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: You know, above average, you know, decent to go nerd
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: on you. They were twenty fifth and EPA per rush
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: because EPA accounts for situation right down a distance score
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: of the game, that sort of thing, so they were
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: The yards per carry number gets inflated by the big runs.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: The EPA number is taking how successful they were on
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: a down to down to basis. To put it in
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Rabel's terms, that's yeah, we had some big plays, but
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: we didn't have consistency to the run, right. So the
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: number I'm looking for two numbers with their run game,
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: their EPA per rush, that's got to be better than
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: twenty fifth. Their power success rate which is short yarded situations,
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: goal line, you know, fourth and one third, one first
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: and goal from the one yard line. They were twenty
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: fifth in that metric as well. So can they be
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: better more consistent? Can they be better consistently early downs?
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Can they be better in short yardage? Can they be
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: better goal line running team? There were times last year,
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: Alex that they were frankly just a bad low red
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: zone goal line offense. They couldn't run the ball in.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: Sometimes it's a good chunk.
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: Yeah. I remember in Tampa when Vidavea and they tried
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: to run in four straight times. I think they finally
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: got it on that digs like fade to the back
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: of the end zone. It was ridiculous catch. Those are
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: the types of things that were happening a little bit
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: too much last year underneath the hood. So I'm a
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: little bummed out about Julian Hill, Like, I think that
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: does take a hit this whole thing with that, But
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: they still got Reggie Gilliam. I think the hope is
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: that that's going to help a lot having that full back.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: But that's the one good thing I would say about
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: things like success rate and EPA. That's really pointing to
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: the consistency that my Rabel's talking about. Whereas if you
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: just look at raw yards per carry, they were decent
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: or fourteenth in the league.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: That's not terrible.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: So I think that's that's a good sort of thing.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: And yeah, if they can be more consistent running the football,
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: they can run the ball better situationally, that's only gonna
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: help the offense inherently. I'm still a past to score,
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: run to win kind of guy, but I think that
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: those situations matter. Can you run the ball in on
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: the goal line? Can you if you need a yard
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: on third and one? Can you pick up a yard?
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: Those are big things that win and lose football games.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: DC is in New Hampshire. What's up, DC, bet guys.
- 1:07:32Speaker 6: I got a prediction and a question for you.
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: My prediction is.
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: That Traveon Henderson is going to be one of the
- 1:07:39Speaker 6: Daniel Jeremiah three playmakers by the end of the season.
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: I think he's on the James White path.
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: And my question is I was just curious.
- 1:07:51Speaker 6: I was listening to check the mic podcast. One of
- 1:07:54Speaker 6: the dudes, I think the bald Ones talking about Brandon
- 1:07:58Speaker 6: Thoresby and with advice thing saying, hey he should it's
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: it's not worth his time to pursue maybe playing a
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: year in the CFL or the UFL, which kind of
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: surprised me. So, I guess sorry to take it away
- 1:08:13Speaker 6: from the Patriots, but I kind of got a broad
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: question here is what is the scouting looking like for
- 1:08:20Speaker 6: from an NFL perspective in looking at those alternative leagues
- 1:08:24Speaker 6: as opposed to the college level. Is there that much
- 1:08:28Speaker 6: difference of a talent gap?
- 1:08:32Speaker 13: Do scouts look at that at.
- 1:08:33Speaker 6: The same level of play.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: And I mean, I don't know.
- 1:08:37Speaker 6: I don't want to derail us with Brandon soursy talk,
- 1:08:40Speaker 6: but you know, do you have it's worth his time
- 1:08:42Speaker 6: to go into a league like that? So just curious
- 1:08:45Speaker 6: on your thoughts on that.
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: Guys.
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: Thank you, thanks for the call. DC. Yeah, I agree
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: with him with Henderson. I think out of that group
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: that we mentioned Henry Dobbs Henderson, I give Henderson maybe
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: the best chance to break out into that playmate category
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: just because of the explosiveness, but the stores be questioned. No,
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: I'm more than happy to talk about it. He's fascinating.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: It's a fascinating story. I think it's we can roughly
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: make it patriots of Jason. Where the jet's going to
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: be interested, Where the Dolphin's going to be interested. Two
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: teams in the division that he quarterbacks a long term
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: and might have kicked the tires on that in terms
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: of his short term. You know how they scout. It's
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: an interesting question, but it's just your overall take on
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: what happened is going on.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: I mean, I think the league doesn't want to touch
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: the unknowns of the gambling stuff because there still could
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: be like aside from the NCAA stuff, there could be
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: legal ramifications here.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: The NFL, you know that statement they put out of
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: that letter they wrote to him where they mentioned that
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: he didn't give them enough time to research like they
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: On one hand, they should have been doing their research
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: the whole time, they should know this was coming. But no,
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: he didn't really give a ton of heads up and
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: he didn't necessarily show attrition, which I or he didn't
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: come across as accountable, which has been part of the
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: issue through rout this, and he talked about, you know,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: he went to rehab and it's a mental condition, and
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: he had an addiction and he went and worked through that,
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: which is good and healthy, and it's a good thing
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: he did that. But I think people are also looking
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: for some accountability, which has been a question here. So
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: I think he's just too hot of a potato right now,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: especially when you get to the gambling thing, which we
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: know is kind of a The NFL is between a
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: rock and a hard place on that one. They'll know
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: more in April and they're gonna have to I don't
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: think he's gonna get banned from the league. I don't
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: think pending more coming out. I don't think we're gonna
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: get to a point where he declares for the draft
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: next year and they say no. But they bought themselves
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: a year to find out more. They bought a year
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: for just more to play out, and it makes sense,
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: and it's on. You know, he mentioned that he might
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: sue the league for not holding a supplemental draft. I
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: don't think that would be a very good idea on
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: his part. You know, maybe if he makes it really contentious,
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: it becomes a bigger issue. But now the question is,
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: you're right, what does he do for you? He can't
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: go back and play college football, that's off the table.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: Yeah, somebody emailed there, called in to PU. Yeah, the
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: Canadian Football League is already like three or four weeks.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: This is what is going to be interesting, and this
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: is where I think there's maybe some missed opportunities. The
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: guy that owns the UFL. Yeah, and I'm trying to
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: remember his name here, he's like a big venture CAVL guy.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: It's not the Rock, it's one of the guys that
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: works with the Rock. Mike Repol. So, Mike Repoll tweeted
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: out yesterday inviting Brendan Soresby essentially to the UFL and said,
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: I have right here. Welcome to the UFL, Brendan Soresby.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: The UFL is the league of opportunity. We created our
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: Regional Player Initiative to keep great players closer to home,
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: close to their fans, and on the field. Let's do this.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: Welcome to the UFL. Renegade is the team in Dallas.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Have your people call my people. I have long said
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: the Spring lead I think we've talked about on this show.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: I would love to see the Spring League be a
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: thing where players who are borderline draftable or questions about
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: injuries or otherwise. So there's going to be a great case.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: It starts after the Super Bowl and it runs through
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: like a week or two before the draft, and it's
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: basically an alternative to the pre draft process. And it's
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: all right, you know, and maybe you cut out a
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: week for rookies, do the combine, but you get an
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: X number of draft prospects for every team who could
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: try to raise their draft stock. Going to be really
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: interesting thing. Imagine if we covered a team that needed
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: a quarterback and all of a sudden there's this guy
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: in We'd be breaking down his film every week, right,
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: it would be great. So the only problem is, and
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: they've moved the schedule around the last couple of years,
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: but right now the Spring League starts the last weekend
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: in March, so you would get three or four games
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: maybe to showcase. And how does that work with you know,
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: will he go to the Senior Bowl? So maybe do
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: the Senior Bowl and four you know for UFL games
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: something like that. The CFL has started. The CFL runs
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: a long season. It's a twenty one week season, plus
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: the playoffs. They run through. Their regular season runs through Halloween,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: and the Gray Cup is usually the weekend of Thanksgiving.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: So I mean, he's missed three games, so he could
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: still go up there, even if it takes a couple
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: of weeks. He could still go up there and get
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: ten to fifteen games of good, solid tape. But you're
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: talking about at least for this year. They're changing this
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: in the future, which might make this more viable pipeline,
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: a wider field, a longer field, twelve players. Like, it's
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: just different concepts. Now players have gone up there and
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: done this. Who's the guy Swiggers who got drafted by
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: the Jets a couple of years ago, played in the
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: CFL without playing in college and got drafted. You know
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: you want to go back twenty years Ricky Williams did
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: something very similar, loved it. I think he like went
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: back and is like still involved in the CFL in
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: some capacity because he enjoyed his year in Toronto so much,
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: or something like that. I was bored today. I was
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: reading Ricky Williams Wikipedia page. But there's as we do,
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: as one does well. I mean, I started off watching
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: Ricky Williams highlights because as one does come on well
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: and all serie, this is actually what I was doing
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: because I like half had this conversation with a friend
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: and then start having it with myself. Not necessarily better player,
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: more fun to watch, better highlight tape. Peak Ricky Williams
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: or peak ly Danian Tomlinson. Your brain goes right to Tomlinson.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: But it did Ricky Williams like peak. The peak was shorter.
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: Tomlinson was more was less flashy, and more just like
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: consistently off.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Yeah, you think about what Ricky
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: Williams was doing it five.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: Thomason was just so well rounded and just he had
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: no horse in smooth.
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: But Ricky Williams did some. And by the way, if
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: you include the college tape, it's Ricky Williams, no question.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: But back to the point, Brandon Soresby could go up
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: and play ten to fifteen games. Yeah, and maybe it
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: would help him. Now if the fact that Schefter and
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: others have reported teams are willing to bit a second
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: round pick with all of this looming, maybe he doesn't
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: need to help. I think the biggest question he just
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: goes away and does the Senior Bowl next year. In
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: the combine and then I have one more note on
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: the CFL, but sorry, can.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: You Yeah, I think the bigger thing with him in
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: terms of this is, yeah, he needs reps. Like it's
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: not even so much about getting game tape.
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: It's about getting better.
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: It's literally about getting better and getting reps at the position. So,
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: because if you're not going to play like what he
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: started one year in college and he had Cincinnati, I
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: think he started too because he wasn't starting at Indiana,
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: right he started at Indiana.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: No, he did started, he played in Indiana, did not? He
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: started seven games there in twenty three and then he
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: was the full time starter Cincinnati the last two seasons.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: He's thirty one to catch.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: Okay, so he's more than I thought.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: So he's but he does probably need a little more.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's not terrible.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: But are you going to get that kind of growth
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: in Canada and that you're.
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: Still dropping back reading a defense football?
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: So do you want the weird twist to this that
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: you're gonna roll your eyes at And people might understand,
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: but hear me out. As far as the Canadian League goes,
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: this is kind of their golden rror quarterbacks.
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: Oh, sude, they have too many. It's another person called
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: it and emailed it and said that that they have
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: too many. I don't know.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: I mean, looking at the list, I don't know who
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: he's gonna start for. All these teams are good. I
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: don't know what team is gonna say, we're gonna put
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: this guy on the bench for you. Yeah, he'd have
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: to now Outawa's situation because I was looking at this yesterday.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: Ottawa's situation is not very nerd like for the show.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: You think that you think I thought this was never
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: going to come off.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: What a dork as you like to say.
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: Ottawa's quarterback situation is not great.
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: The other quarterback, Yeah, the rough Rider. It is Red Blocks,
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: Saskatchewan is the rough Rider. It is June twenty fourth. Okay,
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: I would not be doing this in November.
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: The what the what Blacks?
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: The Red Blocks?
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: The Red Blacks.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: Yeah, they're one of those like well, it's like like flannel,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: it's like loggers, like lumberjack, Lumberjack. That guy's what I
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: was thinking for Their logo is sick. It's an R
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: inside like a saw. It's a very cool logo. The
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: other team's are pretty established now maybe somebody gets hurt.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: Like you remember Nathan Rourke, Patriots legend, Nathan Rourke. You know,
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: Trevor Harris has been really good up there for a
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: long time. Bolivi I Mitchell has been really good up
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: there for a long time. Zach Klaro's Cody Farardo, like
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: Vernon Adams. These guys have all been established in the CFL.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: These teams are not They're not a minor league. They're
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: not a minor league like the UFL is. The UFL
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: could go to a team and say, yeah, maybe you
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: feel good about Louis Perez. You know who Louis Prez
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: is Louise pres I forget what they call him, the
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: Springs something he plays in every spring league. They could
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: go to a team and say, you're gonna bench Louis Perez.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: We're getting Brendon Soresby. It's gonna be good for the league,
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: it's gonna be good for attention. He needs to play
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: the spring King Louis Perez. Yeah, cana is not doing that.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: Cana is not saying this guy needs trying to hear
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: for the draft. Right they're trying to win a great Cup.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: So Canada is kind of the perfect fit for him,
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: the oddity being unless Autawa, and I think their quarterbacks
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: are rookie. I didn't look a ton of their quarterback,
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: but I think it's like he's not great, but they
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: kind of need to blame him.
- 1:18:12Speaker 9: Thing.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: There's no team that needs quarterback, so go up there
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: and back up. But that's it.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: I think the reps is important, even if it's not
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: in that league. To answer, so, I guess would practice
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: reps be important? Maybe, I just think that live game
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: reps you can't simulate that.
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's not again, it's not even so much
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: about his college tape.
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: Like if I was just somebody advising him on his
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: long term future, I would say you need to You
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: can't simulate live practice, live game reps in any other
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: setting besides playing in a game, even if it's a
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: game at a lesser level of football. Now to the
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: callers question about how do scouts evaluate the Canadian Football
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: League the UFL, I don't think that they hold it
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: as high regard as like major college football. But if
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: you're scouting a guy you know from like a you know,
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: Kyle Duggar, Lenora Ryan, I think it's you know, comparable
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: at least you know I think that it's somewhere in
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: the middle of those. So it's not you're not saying like, oh,
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: we're watching this kid from Alabama play Georgia or playing
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: the college football Playoff. It's not that quite that level,
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: But it's not it's not nothing. It's not something that
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: they complete it.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: And it's the kind of thing where like if he
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: goes up there and is competing and looks fine, and
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: this might be why he doesn't do it, that's a
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: red flag. If he goes up there and wins MOP right,
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: because they don't do MVP, they do correctly most Outstanding Player,
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: and he's like breaking records left and right, then like, okay,
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: he looks significantly better than everybody else.
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: So I think the other thing that is just the
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: the legalist or the politics of all of this that
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: I find interesting is just the NFL drawing a hard
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: line in the sand on gambling. And I'm not saying
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: that they shouldn't. I understand all the arguments for it,
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: that the necessary arguments making him wait till the twenty
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: twenty seven drafts instead of holding a supplemental draft, but
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: it is to me a little bit of a slippery
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: slope of like, okay, we're okay with certain crimes and
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: things that are not exactly becoming of the league, but
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: this one is.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: Now we know gambling is like, especially betting on his
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: own team as a direct thing, Well, so this is it.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: It's worse some football standpoint. It's not the worst human
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: thing to do, but they're first on the football. The
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: other thing here that's interesting that this just reminded me
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: of so after Ricky Williams, it's actually called the Ricky
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: Williams rule. Boy, I'm glad I read Ricky Ricky Willams
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: wi Compedia page other day, the Ricky Williams rules. So
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: he was suspended right because he failed a drug test
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: and he went up to the CFL. That kind of
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: pissed the NFL off. So the CFL actually has a
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: rule called the Ricky Williams role that if a player
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: is suspended by the NFL, he cannot go play in Canada. Now,
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: Swersby's not suspended from the NFL, they can't suspend it,
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: he's not an NFL player. But this is kind of
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: a stress test of that. Yeah, and with the CFL said, look, man,
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: would they basically say what the NFL said, like Nope,
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: you're just you're not eligible right now. Like there's another
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: angle to that too.
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it's an interesting slippery slope of Now they're gonna
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: have this like moral high ground on gambling. So where
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: does that go from here?
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: Is it just this gambling thing is just kind of
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: a touchy subject with the league right now, and so
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: that's that's where it's at. Or you know, like I
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: brought up the example of Josh Gordon who had a
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: drug addiction. You know, Terrelle Pryor had sanctions against.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: One of those guys, Josh Gordon was not allowed to
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: go to the CFL. He I don't know if you
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: ever actually looked into it, but he would not have
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: been allowed to go to the c right.
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: So it's just a weird sort of gray area. Let's
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: get back to the calls. George is in Brighton. What's up, George?
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: Yes, Hi, Eric Alex. Hey, I've I've enjoyed listening to
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: you guys oftentimes on the pickets website. I have I
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: have three comments to make. One is about Will Campbell,
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: one is about Justin Herbert uh and the charges in
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: one is about Frick May. Now, you guys are fantastic.
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: You knowledge to gider Away more than I know, But
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: I disagree in all three cases the positions that I've
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: heard in the past. In past years, he stated that
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: coaches believed starmally in second year jumps. Why then, haven't
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: you been more understanding and discussing Will Campbell when we
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: all know that he was injured during the year and
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: most likely not fully recovered in the playoffs. He was
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: doing great during the early part of the year and
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: then he fell down later pipe. He definitely wasn't as
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: good of course against Cleveland, but they have a monster
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: defensive end and playing in the Super Bowl next to
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: another rookie, which has never happened before. He wasn't great.
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: I'm not saying he's a great player and yet, but
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: isn't it reasonable to see how he develops and especially
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: be more allowing to the fact all these things were
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: against him at that point in time.
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I think I've talked a lot about
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: well expecting Will Campbell to take a year or two.
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: Leap okay, but it's been still kind of critical. During
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: the playoffs, two rookies on the left side being you.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: Know, Yeah, I mean, look, if guys don't play well.
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: You point out they don't play well, But I still
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: full believe in Will Campbell to be a starting caliber
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: left tackle in this league for ten plus years.
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: And you don't think he was injured.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: No, he was. No, he was injured, and he didn't
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: play well. I don't think that's a standard.
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: Okay, I know. I just felt that he was maybe
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: overly critical criticized.
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: But that's my That's the first time I've been accused
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: of being too critical of Will Campbell.
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: Hey, that's a good thing.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: What was the other point?
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: Secondly, I've heard I have heard you guys talk. Oh
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: in the Patriots play the Charges, they're not that good
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: at team. They're good, but they're not any elite in
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: any playoffs. They were missing both their tackles and they
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: have great tackles, especially all Look what happened in past years,
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: for example in the Super Bowl when the Homes played
- 1:24:43Speaker 3: against the Bucks, and he was missing his tackles. He
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: was running all over the place and he was having
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: a big problem. So I do think that the Trages
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: are a very good team, and there will be a
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: great challenge to the Patriot out there. Not as much
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: as Seattle, but there'll be a really big.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: Talent black fair enough.
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: What was the Drake may One?
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: Yeah, the Drake may one. I disagree with their assessment
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: of his performance against Houston the playoffs. I had seen
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: almost nobody agreed with what I thought, but I saw
- 1:25:22Speaker 3: a drem I think it's Leski or whatever. He said
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: he had a good game, which I didn't agree with either.
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: I think he had kind of a mixed game. He
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: was terrible, and that he didn't protect the ball. He
- 1:25:35Speaker 3: was giving them way more chances. But if you look
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: at the touchdowns, if he made with not that much
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: protection against incredible defense, the touchdown pass to the first
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: one was a good pass, The second one to what
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: in the end zone where the guy was opened by
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: six inchires what's incredible too. And then the third one
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: to Boodie in the back of the end zone. The
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: way out there was you know, beyond belief. So I
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: thought he had two games, a bad game and a
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: good game. Acted on that.
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: Thanks to the callege, George, I appreciate you listening. All
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: three points are interesting. I think the first one with
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: Will Campbell. I don't think we've ever been accused of
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: being too critical with Campbell, on this show. I think
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: that he still, to me, has to just prove that
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: the guy that he played the first fourteen weeks of
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: the season is his baseline and not the guy.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: That, yeah, he didn't play well down the stretch he
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: was hurt. You both can be true. I think I
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: think the player was in the regular season is more
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: indicative than the player he was in the playoffs. Now,
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: he faced better players in the playoffs two, and there's that,
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: But it's year two. He's gonna put you'd hope he
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: puts muscle on, he puts size on, all of that,
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: which is the expectation for most year two players working
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: out like Lane Johnson and Tristan Wurks. Right now, you know,
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: if he can be what ten percent better than he was,
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: and that's a really abstract thought, like you maybe ten
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: percent better than he was before he get hurt. Well,
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: now you're talking about a top ten tackle in the league.
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the one just small sea concern. I
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: don't even know if it's a concern. It's just you know,
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: watching his tape down the stretch, taking the injury out
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: of it. I think there's some technical advancements that he
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: still needs to make as a as a pass protector
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: that I believe actually is going to help him a
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: lot with his success rate in pass blogging if he
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: has a little bit more variety to his pass sets,
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: especially the different types of sets that we've gone over
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: this before, you know, the vertical set versus the jump
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: set versus the forty five, Like switching it up a
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: little bit more and those respects. Having a little just
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: bit more of that technical savvy. I think it's going
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: to go a long way for him because he's not
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: going to have the length, the raw measurables, you know,
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: necessarily of an ideal left tackle. So I think he's
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: gonna have to make up for that with his feet,
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: with his mind, with his gamesmanship, with that kind of thing.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: But I think we're both fully confident in Will Campbell
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: being an NFL left tackle, starting caliber left tackle for
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: a long time. But the Chargers and Justin Herbert call
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: me when they win a playoff game, that's all I'm
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: gonna say. Yeah, Like it's.
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: Chargers.
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: They just every year I hear about how much talent
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: they have. Every year I hear about how great Jim
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: Harbaugh is as a coach, and how great of a
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: quarterback Justin Herbert is and I think Justin Herbert is
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: a great quarterback. He has never won a playoff game,
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: not even we're not even talking about like advancing. He's
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: literally never won a single playoff game in his NFL career.
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: He's been in the league since twenty twenty and he
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: hasn't won a playoff game. Yeah, So until they win
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: a playoff game and win some of those games, I would.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: Just say in general h criticism, Like in the.
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: Regular season, they played some big games against the Broncos
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: and stuff like that. They lost those games too, right,
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: and you can you win a big game in a
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: big spot. Ever, like literally, ever.
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: They have ross their talents, they've underperformed. Yeah, they they
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: have not played up to their talent. To the Drake
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: made point the Houston game was his best playoff game. Yeah,
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: I think we all said what he said coming out
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: of that game, which was some really wow or some
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: high moments and some low moments, and he was just inconsistent.
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: Yeah, those three touchdown passes were as good as any
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: throws or any plays that you're going to see, especially
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: the booty one. The ball is on the ground too much.
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: I think he got stripsacked what three or four times
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: in that game?
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: Right? Yeah?
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: Yeah? Too many, too many turnovers. The ball is in
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: harm's way too often. But all points, I think that
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: we don't totally disagree with the caller on who There
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: was a good five minute call there for you. Eldred
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: is in wherever Eldred is. Where you're at, Eldred in
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: the truck?
- 1:29:47Speaker 13: Hey, how you doing? Hey, Evan and Alex? Hey question.
- 1:29:52Speaker 13: I listened to Nick Catole the other day. Do you
- 1:29:55Speaker 13: think the Patriots being disrespected? They got him ranked fourteen
- 1:30:00Speaker 13: in the NFL and seven in AFC, And do y'all
- 1:30:05Speaker 13: think so? Or do you think it's just hike?
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks for the call, Eldred. As always, I think
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: a little bit. I mean, like I don't really like
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: the word disrespected, like this isn't quite underrated. I think
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: maybe a better word. I don't think it's any like
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: slight to Drake May and Mike Rabel that you know
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: someplace has them in their power rankings as like the
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: fifth best team like whatever. But I look across the
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: AFC right now and I have hard pressed to find
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: a team that I think is like a clear cut
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: favorite ahead of them in the conference at least. I mean,
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: maybe I still put Seattle in that regard, just be
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: in the Rams, just because of how the Super Bowl
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: went and how that looked, you know, when they played
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: a team of that caliber. But in general, I think
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: that they're right up there with some of the best
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: teams in the AFC. I'm pretty surprised at some of
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: these odds makers type things that have, like Baltimore and
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: Kansas City and teams like that, So High, Buffalo on
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: the Shore, Buffalo, but Baltimore and Kansas City specifically, like
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: Baltimore last year was they didn't make the playoffs. They
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: they didn't make the playoffs. Kansas City completely bottomed out
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: and won six games. To have those teams over some
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: of the new the new brass in the AFC, the Patriots,
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: the Broncos, the caller mentioned the Chargers, like teams like
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: that that were Houston, that did it last year and
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: proved it last year. It's a lot of that. To me,
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: that's a lot of respect. When I talk about disrespect,
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: that's a lot of respect for their quarterbacks. I want
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: to take an email about some off topic let's do
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: it questions here. On June twenty fourth, so this is
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: from Aiden. He covers a couple of different sort of
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: off topic things. Okay, of course the subject line is
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: Celtics talk, so we still have him. Didn't address this
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: much on PU either, So here we go, basically just
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: to sum up his question with Yianni's not coming here,
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: what do you do now? If you're Brad Stevens, can
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: we vent a little bit about the honest situation?
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: Uh?
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: Briefly, so Monday morning, I would say it was when
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: the tide turned. Brian Windhorse, Sean Serania, all of these
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: guys saying that Jalen Brown is in the trade for honest,
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: like all of a sudden, that just came out of nowhere,
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: that just started to happen. And I spent the whole day.
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: I'm a Green teamer, as you know, I'm a big
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: Celtics fan. Yeah, well I spent a whole day kind
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: of like mourning Jalen Brown as a Boston Celtic.
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: I By the time like five six o'clock rolled around, Alex,
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: I was prepared for it. I was ready for it.
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: I was kind of starting to actually get a little
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: bit excited about Giannis, right you know. Okay, Port went
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: out for one of my favorite Celtics and we're gonna
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: move on. Then I wake up Tuesday morning and he's good.
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: Giannis is going to the Miami Heat, and I just
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: couldn't believe it. I was in an absolute shock that
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: they would put Jalen in the trade, let it get
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: out that Jalen was in the trade, and then not
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: do what it takes to get the trade across the
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: finish line. I hope that there's things that we just
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: don't know about that are at play, because I really
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: respect Brad Stevens and think that he's a great general manager.
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: But if that happened here, if there's something like that
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: happened with the Patriots, we'd be critical of it, and
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: I'm gonna be critical of the Celtics. That's that's bad gmming.
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: You can't you can't let your superstar player, you're all NBA,
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: you know, wingman, get out there that he's in a
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: trade rumor and then not get the trade across the
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: finish line. Just can't happen. And now they've really made
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: a mess for themselves where they might just have to
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: trade him anyway. If it's really gotten to that point.
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: My two caveats That would be one. Maybe Jalen wants
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: to be traded, right, Like, maybe this is all a
- 1:33:55Speaker 2: mutual thing. This is coming from his camp as well,
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: that he would like to move on and be traded.
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: So therefore him being in the rumors really doesn't matter
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: because he's got it. He knows he's going to be
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: in the rumors either way. The other one I suppose
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: is just that it was a really unique situation where
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: they had a opportunity to get a generational talent and
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: the honest one of the best players of his era,
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: a perennial MVP candidate when he's healthy, and they took
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: a swing at it, and maybe they can talk to
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: Jalen and iron it out, and they're just hoping that
- 1:34:31Speaker 2: relationship can endure. Not great like that, that to me
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: is a huge risk and not great. I hate the
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: idea of selling Jalen Brown for parts. If they're Trey
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: Murphy and Herb Jones junior and a Pelican's future first
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: round pick, gross, you know, if they want to sell him.
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: I saw, you know, a rumor it was just a
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: kind of scuttle but about Evan Mobley, Like maybe that's
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: a little bit better. They put themselves in a in
- 1:34:56Speaker 2: a really tough spot. The best thing for them, though,
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: to answer the email question, just try to patch this over.
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: Just figure out a way to try to patch this over.
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: They are a much better basketball team with the Jays
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: together now than with trading Jalen. It's hard to imagine
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: a path where they're better from a Jalen trade if
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: it's not going to be for your honest which it was.
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I think assuming Jalen Brown didn't ask out,
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: if he asked out, whatever, you include him in every
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: trade if he didn't ask out, like I think, once
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: you include him, you have to be willing to go
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: all in. And I understand they couldn't trade Goo Goo
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: Gonzalez and Baylor Shierman and multiple firsts. Yeah, flying the
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: way that report from Scham's made it sound, and I'm
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: inferring here a little bit so I could be wrong,
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: was that they basically didn't negotiate it. They just kind
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: of put their offer on the table and stopped, and.
- 1:35:49Speaker 2: Yeah, if you go. I I listened to Bill Simmons,
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: who was actually reporting pretty ahead of the curve on
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: a lot of these things. In this particular instance, maybe
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: Celtic City got back in the good graces of the
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: Celtics sources there, yea, but he said the same thing
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: that he think that they made an offer two weeks
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: ago and it just kind of never so it never moved.
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: I guess if you're gonna go as far as putting
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: Jalen Brown on the table and then stop at Ugo
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: Gonzales and then stop at Baylor Shireman and then stop
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: at one extra first round pick, like I get kn't
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: of up three first we're getting swaps. I know, to
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: your point, you need the picks because the CBA, you
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: need the cheap players, and this is kind of exposing
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: how bad the CBA is. But like, then do a swap. Yeah,
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: you still have to pick, you can still have to
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: but it's gonna be the worst player. But that's what
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: you're getting, honest, it's fine.
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: Well, why would the Bucks want to do swaps because
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: the Bucks picks are going to be worse than your.
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: Picks, That's true.
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't. I just I think that the trade
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: that they probably wanted was Jalen Brown, Couga Gonzales and
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: like three first round picks.
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: And I think the cell I think you have to
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: understand and I'm somebody who's a huge fan of Brad Stevens,
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: and I feel me to it down here. Once you
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: put Jalen Brown on the table, you have to understand
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: this could go places. We just did this with AJ Brown, Yeah,
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: and was a first for AJ Brown. A little bit
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: of an overpay. Yes. Does that mean they shouldn't have
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: done it.
- 1:37:14Speaker 9: No.
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: When you want to add those high level players, you
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: have to get uncomfortable. And some people say adding Jalen
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: Brown alone makes it uncomfortable. Jalen Brown Friannis is a
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: one for one swap. Is not an uncomfortable trade. It's
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: a trade. Frankly, I think the Celtics would lose slightly
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: in the long term, but it's not an uncomfortable trade.
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: The trade you described as uncomfortable. If you get into
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: those negotiations, you have to be willing to get uncomfortable.
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: And if you don't want to get uncomfortable, then don't
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: offer Jalen Brown in the first place and open this
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: Pandora's box, which is where I begin. I would rather
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: they just stayed out of this, But I think once
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: you put Jalen Brown on the table, you have to
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: be willing to go to the finish line, and it
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: sounds like they weren't.
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: Yeah, you know the email are added to here. Aiden said,
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: you know, bringing Jalen Brown back and bringing the Jays back,
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: adding like a Sabonus or.
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: Heartenstein like that.
- 1:38:03Speaker 2: That to me was the move all along, Like that's
- 1:38:05Speaker 2: what I wanted them to do from Jump Street. Was
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: not panic and not over you.
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: Know Derek White, right, But that's I can stomach. Got more,
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: especially you're getting a center, you still have Peyton Pritchard.
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: You're just adding depth to the roster, trading Ylan.
- 1:38:20Speaker 2: Brown, Baylor Shireman to be a rotation, playing Hugo maybe
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: a rotation.
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: And if you want to make the offer of like Houser,
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: White and Ugo for for Giannis like Flying Rever. I'm
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: not saying they couldn't offer for Jannis at all, but yeah,
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: I I I it felt like a panic move unless
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: Jayalen Brown always wanted out, in which case whatever, And
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: this is all no reaction, but I feel like we
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: might have heard that at that point, because if you're
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: the Celtics, aren't you gonna leak that at this point
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: to defend yourselves? Yeah, and you don't have to piss
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: them off. Because he already wants out.
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: I just feel like if they and I I'm probably
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: a little bit green teaming with this, and maybe I'm
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: I actually think you've.
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: Come a long way from where where you were when
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: this news broke, I will say.
- 1:38:59Speaker 2: Because I I I think it was a bad mistake.
- 1:39:04Speaker 2: I think, frankly, I think Brad messed us up. You
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: can't put Jalen in the trade and not do the trade.
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: And ye, you can't do that.
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: And to people who will hear that and say so,
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: they should have just given up anything if the Bucks asked,
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: I mean.
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: There had to have been a lot like, there had
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: to have been a place right, obviously, there had to
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: have been a middle ground there that they could have
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: gotten right. And I think the other thing too, is
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: just you know, this isn't the first time that Jalen's
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: been in trade rumors in his career with the Celtics.
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: This certainly isn't new information that he's a little bit
- 1:39:38Speaker 2: disgruntled with what's been going on, so the relationship, there
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: was already friction that existed in the relationship to begin with.
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: I don't think that's media narrative or media driven. I
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: think that's real he came straight from Jalen Brown like
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: at times, and so you knew that this was a
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: touchy situation and you just made it touchy situation worse.
- 1:40:02Speaker 2: I had always thought that I just and look, maybe
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: this meant a reset next year. That was like blowing
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: it up in twenty twenty seven and twenty eight. If
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: this didn't work, but Jason Tatum being fully healthy next
- 1:40:15Speaker 2: year with Jalen Brown, you had a legit center like
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: a Hartenstein or someone like that, you still would have
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: the non taxpayer mid level, so you could use something like,
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: you know, a fifteen million dollar contract on the player
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: to then go out and get like another scoring guard,
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: which I think is what they would ideally he said
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: speed at the guard position yesterday. Yeah, you know something
- 1:40:36Speaker 2: like that. If you could have sort of retooled around
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: those two guys and it's still primarily Tatum, Brown and
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: then White as like sort of the third fiddle, but
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: you have a legitimate center that bumpsn me Cada to
- 1:40:50Speaker 2: like that Mitchell Robinson role, you know, which is a
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: much more comfortable role for him, and you have some
- 1:40:55Speaker 2: better backcourt depth. That was I wanted to see that
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: team together, right because I thought that team had a
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: pretty high ceiling of Jason Tatum goes back to being
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: like a top five player in the NBA first team
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: All NBA kind of guy. So it's disappointing now we're here.
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: It should we shouldn't. They shouldn't be in a position
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: where they don't have Giannis or Jalen Brown like that
- 1:41:15Speaker 2: shouldn't have happened.
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: And here's the other thing. People who might say, well,
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: you know you can't give up that much for Jannis
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: if you go into that trade knowing you have trade Tatum, Well,
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: what's what's the alternative? Would you rather give up? And
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: I keep using Googlenzalz just because he's kind of become
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: the poster child of this. You can use Baylor Shyerman too,
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: or whoever. Would you rather give up Jannis Ugo in
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: three firsts or sorry, Jalen Brown Ugo in three first
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: for Jannis or Jalen Brown for Evan Mobley, A couple
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: bench players and maybe a pick?
- 1:41:49Speaker 6: Right?
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: What's trade?
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: Right? Exactly? You're giving up more, but you're getting more much.
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: So that's yeah. That that that's where I find it
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: tough for And also just side note, I got a
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: feel for Ugo Gonzales. Yeah, he this is it's gotta
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: be a really good Now, it's gonna be a tough
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: season for him if he does not come out and
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: play well. Like, he's the guy they wouldn't trade, right
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: or wrong. The NBA is a narrative league. He's the
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: guy they wouldn't trade for you honest.
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Just the last thing I would just add
- 1:42:21Speaker 2: to that too, is, you know, I do think that
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: there is a path for this to get these fences
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: to get mended. I do.
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: I hope. So it's been it's been a few years.
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: I will say it has been.
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: I still think though, ultimately the best chance for both
- 1:42:37Speaker 2: those guys to succeed individually and you know, as a
- 1:42:41Speaker 2: team succeed winning is together. Like splitting each other up
- 1:42:46Speaker 2: and Jalen Brown going to New Orleans or Jalen Brown
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: going to Portland or something like that, and Tatum getting
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: you know whatever they those teams offer scutin and friends
- 1:42:57Speaker 2: or whatever like, that's not a good path for either
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: one of those people, right, Like, from a basketball standpoint,
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: I hope that they can just kind of iron this out.
- 1:43:06Speaker 2: We'll see what happens. Though it's it's they put themselves
- 1:43:09Speaker 2: into a really tough spot, I'll say that, And that
- 1:43:12Speaker 2: was unfortunate. First time really that I felt uneasy about
- 1:43:16Speaker 2: Brad Stevens, like he's always been so good at his job. Yeah,
- 1:43:19Speaker 2: and so you know, just I was saying.
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: Brad Stein's the best asset they have, better than Jason Tatum.
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: I might have been wrong.
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: Yeah, last thing here for Maiden an off topic, he
- 1:43:29Speaker 2: said c R seven Christiano Ronaldo is the goat. I
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: could not disagree more with that.
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: Same.
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: But I thought about this a little bit because I
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: wanted to make it football right because you know, as
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: we do, and it might help our audience. That's not
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: big soccer fans so messy. To me, is Tom Brady right,
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: like he's aging. Like Tom Brady, he's the goat to
- 1:43:51Speaker 2: the sport. He's thirty nine years old and he's still
- 1:43:54Speaker 2: scoring three and two goals in World Cup games. He's Brady,
- 1:43:57Speaker 2: He's he's the best. To me, is more like Aaron Rodgers,
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: where at his peak you could say that that was
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: some of the best quarterback play you've ever seen, But
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: there's it wasn't sustaining and there's just too much extra crap.
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: That goes on with Ronaldo, just like with Aaron Rodgers,
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: where you just like kind of don't like the guy
- 1:44:19Speaker 2: like Messi. Everybody loves Messi right like, you know, he's
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: he's the best Rinaldo like you kind of just don't
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: like him, like he just kind of like Aaron Rodgers.
- 1:44:28Speaker 2: So I think that you could make the argument that
- 1:44:31Speaker 2: peak versus peak. You know, maybe Ronaldo was was in
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: the discussion with with Messi, but it's not. You can't
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: make that. That's where it ends, right, longevity, likability, all
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: of those things. Uh, you know, in my younger years,
- 1:44:46Speaker 2: it kind of brings me back to like No mar
- 1:44:48Speaker 2: and Jeter right like like No Mark maybe at his
- 1:44:51Speaker 2: peak kind of at a case at that, not not
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: longevity wise. So that was a good email there on
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: our got all of our off topic con stations out.
- 1:45:01Speaker 2: Here's a question from Dustin which I think is an
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: interesting one because I had one of these jerseys growing up.
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: He said that can we talk about how jerseys are
- 1:45:10Speaker 2: super expensive for all teams for them to be heat pressed,
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: so like the logos, numbers, all that stuff is that
- 1:45:17Speaker 2: like cheap pressing and not the stitching. So I think
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: they still sell stitch jerseys.
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: I think they just started doing that again. That is
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: a big thing. Back in the US, stitched jersey that
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: was a big deal.
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: So I had a tom Brady Dynasty blue tom Brady
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: stitched in twelve jersey. I still have it and it's
- 1:45:38Speaker 2: I haven't put it on in years, but I still
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: I still have it. And it was I want to say,
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: a three hundred dollars.
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: Yeah, they were. I remember was along to the rebox
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: store when there was a rebox store up at Pat's
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: place and they had do you remember this? They had
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: like jerseys from Edwy.
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: I believe that's where this was from.
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: So they had jerseys like all thirty two teams have
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: like a couple players. Tam and me and my friends
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: would lose. Just go look at the stitch jerseys. I
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: really wanted to buy. I really almost bought a Josh
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: Freeman creamsicle jersey, and I to this day regret that
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: I did.
- 1:46:10Speaker 2: You regret that.
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: That would be a sick jersey to have, Like five
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: was my number? A Josh Freeman creamsicle jersey, that'd be cool.
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: It was five year number because like the bigger numbers
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: didn't fit. You are you one of those kids. I
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: feel like you were one of those kids.
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: That's why, like two was my number when I was
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: like younger playing baseball. When I was playing Pop warn
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: I one eleven, it was taken. They just gave me five.
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: So that just ended up being my number, and nobody
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: on the Patriots ever wore it. So every time, like
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: I created a player in Madden, I was like, oh,
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: give them five, this is great, And then Tim Tebow
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: came here and wore it. That annoyed me.
- 1:46:42Speaker 2: When I was like all like Little League and all
- 1:46:44Speaker 2: that stuff. I used to wear eight for Antwine Walker
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: because thirty four.
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: What wasn't Yeah, nobody had thirty four.
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it wouldn't go on.
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: No, my numbers were always two because those were the
- 1:46:55Speaker 1: smallest jersey sizes and I didn't want to wear one.
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: I thought wearing one was weird. Yeah, So this wasn't
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: Dirk or it wasn't anything like that. So it was two,
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: it was five, and it was eleven. Those are my numbers.
- 1:47:05Speaker 2: Those are good numbers. Yeah, JESSS was eleven, Q eleven
- 1:47:09Speaker 2: a lot. I was eight normally eight or nine, depending.
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: And one time I got fifty five. That was cool.
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: I liked fifty five.
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: If I got if I didn't get eight, I would
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: pick nine. Okay, here's an email from Doug in New
- 1:47:22Speaker 2: Hampshire related to Eldred's call. Robert Mays and Derek Klassen
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: had the Patriots offensive talent around the QB, so this
- 1:47:30Speaker 2: is like his supporting cast oc wide receiver, running back,
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: tight end. So not offensive line, but the skill group,
- 1:47:36Speaker 2: but the play caller, excuse me, as seventh or eighth
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: best in the AFC. I found that this was low
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: and a bit disrespectful to McDaniel's and aj brown teams
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: like the Chargers and Jaguars were above them. So just
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: based off of their skill group plus play caller, seventh
- 1:47:55Speaker 2: or eighth best seems it does seem a little bit.
- 1:47:57Speaker 2: It seems it seems a little.
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: Bit the af' in the NFL the AFC. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: that's low.
- 1:48:02Speaker 2: It seems a little bit low. And the Chargers we
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: talked about the charges earlier when we were doing the exercise,
- 1:48:09Speaker 2: they have some nice complimentary pieces. I don't know where
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: we all fall right now on Lad McConkey and all that,
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: but I agree that that does feel a little bit low.
- 1:48:17Speaker 2: If we want to play the disrespect card. You go
- 1:48:19Speaker 2: right ahead, you put your email that into Mike Rabel
- 1:48:22Speaker 2: and have them put it on a presentation disrespect. This
- 1:48:26Speaker 2: email is from aj I think he was somebody was
- 1:48:29Speaker 2: in the chat saying this exact same thing, so maybe
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: this was the same person. But he said at the
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: end of last week's episode, there was a discussion about
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: Kaishan Boody to the Giants. I see a lot of
- 1:48:38Speaker 2: people talking about it. The Giants signed it. Darnell Moody
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: drafted Malachi Fields. I don't think also adding in Kashan
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: Boody makes a lot of sense the Giants. We talked
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: about this. When we talked about it, I feel like
- 1:48:49Speaker 2: the Giants added a lot of bodies at Wide Receiver,
- 1:48:52Speaker 2: including the corpses of Juju Smith, Schuster and Odell Beckham Junior.
- 1:48:56Speaker 2: I don't know if they added any guys that are
- 1:48:59Speaker 2: established in are kind of in their primes of their career.
- 1:49:03Speaker 2: All his Giants Wide Receiver buzz is because of Malik Neighbors,
- 1:49:06Speaker 2: Like you know, whether his situation is clear or not
- 1:49:09Speaker 2: is they definitely have enough bodies though. Give from that.
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: Darnall Moody and Kishan Boody play different positions.
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: Yeah, Darnell Moody is like a speed slot, right Ye.
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: Who'd you take Kaishan Booty or Malachie Fields.
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: I don't know anything about Malachi Fields yet. It is
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: draft pick h right now you knew you started. I
- 1:49:25Speaker 2: thought you believe Malchai Fields was not my guy. Unquestionably
- 1:49:30Speaker 2: stiff contested cat.
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: The numbers don't. This is like, remember the Patriots used
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: to have like ten receivers and we're like, there's ten
- 1:49:36Speaker 1: receivers for six spots, but you could upgrade overall ten
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: of them, right, That's kind of what the Giants have
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: right now. So right now, if we're reading the end
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: of the episode, By the way, we gotta do another
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: twenty to zero before we get out of here.
- 1:49:47Speaker 2: Okay, So uh, you know, looking at the Giants step chart,
- 1:49:51Speaker 2: just assuming he's healthy at some point, Neighbors slay In,
- 1:49:54Speaker 2: Calvin Austin, Darnell Mooney, Malchai Fields feels like they're five.
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: Because Malay Fields is drafted the third I'm assuming he's
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: going to make the team as a third round pick.
- 1:50:03Speaker 2: I think Kashawan Boody does bring them some level of
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: consistency and improve an NFL talent on the outside. I
- 1:50:10Speaker 2: don't know what they're disdain or whatever. Maybe disdain is
- 1:50:13Speaker 2: too strong. Darius Slayton seems to be somebody that's fallen
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: out of favor with all the regime changes there with
- 1:50:19Speaker 2: the Giants. I thought Darius Slayton was kind of like
- 1:50:21Speaker 2: Kashan Boody. Yeah, honestly, like a similar kind of player.
- 1:50:25Speaker 2: But it sounds like they are kind of out on
- 1:50:28Speaker 2: him for whatever reason. You want us to do it?
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: What do we have any more emails?
- 1:50:33Speaker 2: No, we're good.
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: Okay, So because we did this to wrap it up last.
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: Week, thanks for all the calls and emails. Yeah, we
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: got us to all.
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: You big upset that Robert Splain was in it last
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: week and I forgot to use the respin. So New
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: England Patriots only twenty and er. Yeah, and we're starting
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: off with nineteen seventy six to nineteen eighty two.
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: John Hannah, there's.
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: No Linemann to tell you.
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: God, why do you why? What kind of game is this?
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: Stanley Morgan Francis or Sam Vam Cunningham. I assume we're
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: saving the quarterback spot for Brady.
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: I gotta be honest. Those are all great options. I'm
- 1:51:06Speaker 2: gonna go at.
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: Nineteen seventy nine Stanley Morgan. I think I'm gonna go
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: with the Steamer. I think that's what we gotta do.
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna cheat a little bit because were.
- 1:51:15Speaker 2: I really got the numbers, because I feel like with
- 1:51:17Speaker 2: Russ Francis, We're gonna have other tight end options. We're
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: gonna have other tight end and probably other running back
- 1:51:22Speaker 2: options too, you know, wide receiver. You know whether we
- 1:51:25Speaker 2: maybe we would miss out on like Prime Moss or yeah.
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: And it's tough because usually they put the historic year
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: in for a specific player, like you get like the
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: eighties Dolphins, and it's obviously you're taking you can kind
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: of do that. Whoever with the Patriots, I guess we
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: could take Steve Grogan too, but no, we'll go Stanley Morgan.
- 1:51:41Speaker 2: Stanley Morgan should be in the Hall of Fame, all.
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: Right, So we'll go Stanley Morgan at receiver. Next up?
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: You know what team? If Stanley Morgan played for the
- 1:51:50Speaker 2: Pittsburgh Steelers, he'd be in the Hall of Fame.
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: Yes, sixteen to twenty offense.
- 1:51:55Speaker 2: Sixteen to twenty offense.
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: So do we want Brady seventeen? Brady erseventeen Gronk, because
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: we could also get a different version of Brady. So
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: we do have like multiple versions of right, I mean
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: we probably don't want like two thousand and two thousand
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: and five Brady.
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: Twenty sixteen to twenty twenty Brady is pretty darn good.
- 1:52:12Speaker 2: Well it's twenty seventeen, twenty seventeen Brady won MVP. All right,
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: all right, all right, we'll go twenty seventeen Brady. Yeah,
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: I mean we might get those years back ninety nine
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: to five ninety nine, so Ben Coates is gone.
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: Ben Coates is we get ninety nine Ben coach, But
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: I don't remember he was still like still good right
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: at that point. I mean, really we're talking about Oh
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: four Corey Dyllon.
- 1:52:36Speaker 2: Alright, so sorry, it was to four n five ninety nine.
- 1:52:39Speaker 2: We have four Corey Dyllon, Corey Dllon.
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: Who's the best receiver here? Oh four Givens, Oh four Patton,
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: oh five Branch Corey Dyllon, all right, Corey Dillon. I
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: think Corey Dyllan's the play there. Yeah, Patriots six to
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: ten Randy Moss, Randy Moss overwhelker. Yeah, why do we
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: always ask me that? Seven? Well, last week, we got both. Okay,
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: here were in eleven to fifteen, so now we get
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: twenty eleven. Rob Gronkowski, this is this team.
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: If this team's not unless you want twenty eleven, Wes Welker, No,
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: I don't I want.
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: Well, we got one more, Oh, twenty one to twenty
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: five offense for a flex we can use anything? Should
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: we just reroll? We have one reroll?
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: Twenty five would count digs though, right?
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: Oh, so we could do twenty five digs? You want
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: to do twenty five digs? You want to reroll?
- 1:53:24Speaker 2: Is there? Twenty five digs is better than we already
- 1:53:28Speaker 2: put Gronk. We already put.
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: Moss, right, we'd be hoping we get we Well, well
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: it's a flex, Welker or I don't even know what
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: running back.
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: We would because we already took Corey Dillon.
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: Yeah, so probably all right, so let's do let's do
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: digs digs? All right? So our offense is Brady Corey Dillon,
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: Stanley Morgan, Rob Gronkowski, Randy Moss, Stefon Diggs.
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: That's a forty five points a game.
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: All right, Well, now we gotta get the defenses will
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: let us down this one, don't go to sleep in quickly. Okay,
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: eleven to fifteen.
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: So Reavis.
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: So here's the weird thing. It goes off production. How
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: many did he have a lot of picks that year.
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: Never got thrown at? So probably right? Revs.
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: Twenty fourteen Dante High Tower.
- 1:54:09Speaker 2: Dante High Tower, Chandler Jones, Oh.
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: Twenty thirteen, Chandler Jones. Do you have like fifteen sacks?
- 1:54:14Speaker 2: Let's go twenty thirteen Chandler Jones.
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: Twenty thirteen, Chandler Jones on the edge, okay, ninety nine
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: to five, I mean so many see more law Wah
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: was productive. I think we go we won an earlier corner.
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: I think we go ty law Lah. I think you're right.
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: Twenty one to twenty five.
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: Oh, this was trip this up last time.
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I think we go jude On, jud.
- 1:54:35Speaker 2: Yeah, Judon because he had the big year and twenty.
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll throw jude On at the flex. Let me
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: make sure it's the right. Yeah, twenty two jude On,
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: I think you have like twelve sacks. Well, jude On
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: at the flex, we still have our respin sixteen to twenty.
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: Six, we still Stefan Gilmore.
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: Well, we already took tay law, so we took we
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: can't have multiple corner we do have Where's Devin mccordy, Gilmore,
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: I was Devin not here.
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: High Town?
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: It's weird, it's listen. Oh no, we can play Devin
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: mccordy at safety. So we'd have twenty sixteen him, twenty
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: sixteen mccordy or twenty sixteen High Time, twenty sixteen High Tower,
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: beast yea twenty one to twenty five again showing reroll. Yes,
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: all right, uh, twenty one to twenty five. We just
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: blew our reroll. Oh we still Milt Williams, Okay, let's go.
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: We could do last year. Milton Williams, sure, all right,
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: Now we need we need a safety. Eleven to fifteen.
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: Oh god, I think gives us prime. That was the
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: year mccordy at all those picks, right, his rookie year.
- 1:55:37Speaker 2: Yeah, but he was playing court.
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but it lets us play him in safety. Twenty twelve,
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: Devin mccordy at safety unless.
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: You want to go. I mean the safety is that
- 1:55:44Speaker 2: in that era were terrible that they gave him twenty
- 1:55:46Speaker 2: eleven Patrins.
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: Mccordy, Harmon, Steve Gregory, Cayvon Wilson, James Aheadable or Patrick
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: Chunk mccordy. Mccordy a best player seventeen and three.
- 1:55:57Speaker 2: That's worse than last week.
- 1:55:58Speaker 1: Milton Williams held us back?
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: What the hell? I don't know what did this game
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: wants us to do?
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: We got one hundred one on offense. I didn't know
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: you could get more one hundred. We got ninety one
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: on defense.
- 1:56:07Speaker 2: We had we had.
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: I screwed up. I took Chris Jones, not Chandler Jones.
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: Of the million Jones you get, is he the one
- 1:56:18Speaker 1: who's not holding us back? Chris Jones had six sacks
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: and eight tackles for a loss that year.
- 1:56:25Speaker 2: I mean, what is wrong with you, Chris Jones? Instead
- 1:56:29Speaker 2: of change?
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that's my bad. Wow, But apparently that's not what
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: cost us. All Right, we'll have to bounce back. We
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: gotta go next week.
- 1:56:38Speaker 2: We do have a show next week, next Wednesday, and
- 1:56:41Speaker 2: then we're off for My summer sabbatical is what I'm
