Kia is recalling over 21,000 EV9 electric SUVs from 2025 and 2026 due to a faulty front passenger seat sensor that may keep the airbag active when a child is seated there—posing serious injury risk in accidents. The Occupant Detection System fails to properly sense occupancy, triggering warning lights or seatbelt chimes even when empty.
