  us regarding legal tender legislation in the state of

  Florida. Daniel, welcome to Ron's

  It's great to be here. So there's a sales tax under on
• 0:57
  certain silver and gold transactions in the state of
• 1:01
  Florida. But you've got some big news for
• 1:04
  us about what we could might expect here in the coming year.
• 1:08
  Yeah, absolutely. So Florida right now has a sales
• 1:12
  tax on the purchase of gold and silver if it's less than $500,
• 1:17
  which is decent, but like if you buy a few rounds of silver and
• 1:20
  you're gonna have to pay, you know, 6 or 7% depending on the
• 1:22
  county you're in on sales tax. Our bill does three things.
• 1:27
  The first thing is it creates gold and silver as legal tender
• 1:31
  species. The second it creates a state
• 1:33
  depository so the state can have its gold and silver within its
• 1:36
  territorial borders. And the third thing it does is
• 1:39
  creates electronic gold and silver.
• 1:42
  So you can spend your gold and silver with a debit card just
• 1:45
  like you spend your dollars with a debit card or use Venmo or
• 1:48
  whatnot. There'll be other solutions like
• 1:50
  that. But the important thing about
• 1:52
  the legal tender, when you make gold and silver legal tender, we
• 1:56
  also have specific language that gets rid of all tax liabilities.
• 1:59
  So no longer will you have to pay sales tax on gold and silver
• 2:03
  within the state of Florida. If this gets passed or when, let
• 2:06
  me say when, because we have a lot of movement in Florida,
• 2:08
  which I'll touch on you shortly. And the other thing legal tender
• 2:12
  bills do what which I didn't mention in the other video or
• 2:16
  interview, is that there is a state, sorry, a federal code, US
• 2:22
  code 18, section 486 and I'm going to read it verbatim
• 2:27
  because it's kind of scary. I, I, I, I'm, I'm surprised 46
• 2:32
  that this the federal government passed it so it was passed on I
• 2:35
  think in 1943. But it's US Code 1846 states.
• 2:40
  Whoever, except as authorized by law, which includes states
• 2:45
  making it legal tender, makes or utters or passes, or attempts to
• 2:50
  utter or pass any coins of gold or silver or other metal or
• 2:54
  alloys of metals intended for the use of current current
• 2:58
  money. Whether the resemblance of coins
• 2:59
  in the United States or foreign coins or of original design
• 3:03
  shall be fined on this title doesn't say how much when it's
• 3:06
  $5000 or imprisoned, not more than five years, or both.
• 3:13
  So if you try to use gold and silver as current money in any
• 3:16
  state that doesn't have legal tender, you can be fined
• 3:19
  federally $5000 or in prison for five years, or both.
• 3:23
  That's why it's so important that we pass legal tender bills
• 3:27
  or sound like For instance, the Sound Money Act does all three
• 3:29
  things in the state. So not only does it get rid of
• 3:32
  sales tax in Florida, it protects every resident of
• 3:34
  Florida from being in prison for using gold and silver as legal
• 3:37
  tender. Wow, wow.
• 3:39
  A lot, a lot going on. You talked about something very
• 3:43
  interesting that Florida residents may be able to look
• 3:46
  forward to as well. And it it feels like to me what
• 3:48
  you're talking about is making silver and gold functional again
• 3:53
  as well. Do you want to elaborate on that
• 3:56
  a little bit? Yeah, absolutely.
• 3:58
  So right now there's four states in the Union that have legal
• 4:02
  tender laws. You have Utah, Wyoming, Oklahoma
• 4:06
  and Arkansas Overall, that's more of a a symbolic gesture of
• 4:10
  saying that hey, we we recognize gold and silver as legal tender.
• 4:12
  It creates those protections, right, gets rid of sales tax,
• 4:15
  but overall it doesn't really do much for using gold and silver
• 4:18
  even with a depository. For instance, in Utah, they they
• 4:22
  don't have a state depository, but they have the UPMA and then
• 4:24
  Texas, they're the first state in the union that has a
• 4:27
  depository. But overall those depositories
• 4:30
  aren't full. They're not being used because
• 4:33
  who uses gold and silver anymore?
• 4:35
  Like even with this federal law, like who's going to go into a
• 4:37
  store right now and and pay with an ounce of gold $25.00 worth of
• 4:41
  of of products. Hardly anybody.
• 4:43
  But if we make it functional just like we deposit our cash
• 4:48
  because who carries cash anymore?
• 4:49
  If you're one of the few that carry cash, you know you're
• 4:52
  you're in the minority. Most people don't carry physical
• 4:54
  cash anymore. They deposit it, that deposited
• 4:57
  physical cash is digitized and then you can spend it with a
• 5:01
  debit card. It's functional currency and by
• 5:04
  making gold and silver digital or electronic, in this case we
• 5:09
  we use electronic because a lot of people don't like digital.
• 5:12
  It becomes functional again. And then the Texas depository,
• 5:15
  if it gets past the special legislative session, the Utah,
• 5:19
  if the bill passes in Utah or in Florida depositories will start
• 5:23
  getting filled up with people's gold.
• 5:24
  Because hey, I know a guy who has four metric tons of silver

  size he has liquidity and that's the major issue with stackers.

  I I I started physically stacking with this year and it's
• 5:40
  great. I'm I have a a safe stack of of
• 5:44
  gold and silver but I can't use it unless I pick take it to the
• 5:47
  store buy it you know trade it in for Fiat or whatnot or buy
• 5:51
  Fiat right. That's what we're being doing
• 5:52
  buying something Fiat. But if I deposit in the state
• 5:55
  depository now, it's liquid and I can spend my physical gold and
• 5:59
  silver anywhere I want. And it's not just in the state
• 6:03
  of Florida, because it would be used with an either MasterCard
• 6:06
  or Visa card, and you can use your gold and silver anywhere on
• 6:09
  the planet as cash. Yeah.

  And let me, and let me interject, I'm a big proponent
• 6:15
  of that as long as it is audited, regulated, transparent.
• 6:22
  Segregated to a degree, you know then terms of the state
• 6:26
  depositories that the that the silver and gold are are not
• 6:29
  accessible by the politicians to help pay for you know whatever
• 6:33
  they want to use it to pay for. And I know that's the case and I
• 6:36
  and I want to point out why I'm so much in favor of, you know,
• 6:41
  asset backed. Digital currencies, right, not
• 6:44
  central bank digital currencies because there's a big
• 6:47
  difference. Asset backed digital currencies,
• 6:49
  meaning there's the asset there, it's real, it's the digital
• 6:54
  currency is 100% backed by in this case silver and gold and
• 6:58
  that is because. You know, if you fly up here in
• 7:01
  your private jet today to Saint Louis and I want to take you to
• 7:04
  lunch and I say, hey, Daniel, let's go, I'm going to pay with
• 7:07
  Silver, right? Well, there are maybe a few
• 7:10
  restaurants in Saint Louis, but we would be hard pressed to find
• 7:13
  a restaurant that would take my American Silver Eagle to pay for
• 7:17
  lunch. So instead what we would have to
• 7:19
  do is. You'd get in my car, we'd drive
• 7:22
  to my local coin shop, I would convert that, that one ounce of
• 7:26
  silver into Fiat, right. But I would also be be paying
• 7:31
  that, you know the premium, the spread difference on that.
• 7:34
  I would lose money in doing that.
• 7:36
  Then we get the Fiat, then we would go to lunch and I would
• 7:38
  pay with that money. What you're talking about is an.
• 7:42
  A rather long winded example on my behalf is being able to
• 7:45
  actually have. Silver and gold in in a in a in
• 7:50
  an account basically that is functional that you can use that
• 7:55
  you you know it'd be it's seamless and and and you can use
• 7:58
  to spend and and this legislation provides for that
• 8:04
  100%. Yeah and it it that's the most
• 8:08
  important thing and that's what look we haven't since we got off
• 8:11
  the gold center in 1971. We haven't had the technology
• 8:15
  until recently within the like 6 years because of the advent of
• 8:19
  blockchain technology. Now there are other companies
• 8:21
  out there throughout history who like within the early 2000s that
• 8:24
  were doing digital gold and silver.
• 8:26
  It's more of a database system but daily based systems are
• 8:29
  really centralized unless they have verbage in there that's
• 8:33
  more of a bailment or Bailey situation where the gold is
• 8:38
  actually yours and then they the the company.
• 8:41
  The third party doesn't control it which is what the companies
• 8:45
  that are part of our coalition we have a coalition at gold and
• 8:47
  silver companies digital and physical that are part of the
• 8:50
  citizen sound money are do nobody you own your gold and
• 8:54
  silver and in Florida that is exactly the language we have in
• 8:59
  there. We not only state that the state
• 9:01
  can the legislature cannot appropriate which is what you
• 9:03
  said segregation cannot appropriate any gold and silver.
• 9:06
  It also states that the state is acting as a Bailey where
• 9:10
  basically he's just warehousing your gold and silver the gold
• 9:13
  and silver yours. Plus we took the Texas anti
• 9:16
  confiscation language from their depository and put it in
• 9:19
  Florida. So the state and the federal
• 9:21
  government by state law cannot confiscate the gold and silver
• 9:25
  and that's extremely, really important.
• 9:27
  And by digitizing that and being able to spend your gold, not the
• 9:31
  states gold, your gold as currency, it gives everybody the
• 9:36
  opportunity to one protect their purchasing power by opting out
• 9:40
  of the Federal Reserve System and putting your cash into gold
• 9:44
  and silver. And that's what's extremely
• 9:48
  important with asset backed digital currencies or as we're
• 9:51
  calling it electronic gold and silver at at the state level.
• 9:55
  And in Florida we have two great champions for this bill.

  We have Representative Bankson and Senator Rodriguez.

  Senator Rodriguez is out of the Monroe, Miami area and
• 10:10
  Representative Bankson is in the Apopka area.

  And through our legislative efforts, Ron, we have since
• 10:18
  October we have met with 54 legislators in the House and the
• 10:23
  Senate. We also met with the CF OS
• 10:25
  office. We also met with Governor
• 10:27
  DeSantis office and almost every single 11 legislator, all the
• 10:33
  other 53 legislators and and officers in the executive branch
• 10:37
  that we met are enthusiasts. In fact Speaker Renner, the
• 10:41
  Speaker of the House of Florida, when we met with him, he said
• 10:44
  quote I'm enthusiastically supportive but he wanted more
• 10:48
  information and he also said who else is doing this?
• 10:51
  We told him, well, Texas, Utah and a few other states, he's
• 10:53
  like, I want to be first. So the Speaker of the House
• 10:56
  wants to be the first state in the Union to pass the Sell Money
• 10:59

  Texas, not just with silver and gold, legal tender legislation

  and movements, but I look at them in general as being growing

  progressive states, right. They've been modeled, you know,

  leading the country in terms of growth and that.

  But isn't it ironic? So in my opinion, progressive

  now financially progressive as well, but that we're talking
• 11:50
  about. Silver and gold, which are the,
• 11:54
  you know, the the oldest and really in my opinion the only
• 11:57
  forms of real or one of the only forms of real money real value

  out there that that now where these progressive states are
• 12:05
  are, are are taking action to move silver and gold back to
• 12:12
  allowing them to reclaim their original status.

  Does that, does that make sense? Yeah.

  Well, I would say that most of the states when you say
• 12:21
  progressive, you don't mean politically progressive, you
• 12:23
  mean progressive sense as moving forward with like the economy
• 12:27
  and technology and so forth. Progressive.

  Nah, not not from a, let's say, liberal perspective, but more
• 12:34
  from a progressive in terms of they're they're making, taking
• 12:40
  steps and doing things. To to grow their economy to to
• 12:45
  grow the, you know the the the the standard of living within
• 12:49
  their states. That when I look at states like
• 12:52
  Texas and Florida like you know they're they're they're
• 12:56
  innovative in some ways. But that what we're talking
• 12:59
  about at the same time is bringing back and just allowing
• 13:04
  the state to to to to to recognize and use silver and
• 13:08
  gold as what they've always been which is real money.

  Yeah 100% no 100 I agree Florida Texas Utah New Hampshire the all
• 13:18
  these states that we're working with are 100% progressive when
• 13:22
  it comes to their their economies and growing and and
• 13:25
  and moving forward with the latest technology as well right.

  Like Florida was the first state in the union to create a a
• 13:32
  blockchain or fintech position under the the governor and you
• 13:36
  know I I like saying Florida's the greatest state in the union.

  Texas is the second greatest state in the union.

  I know Texas thinks the greatest, so it's kind of a
• 13:42
  battle back and forth, Florida. Don't forget about don't.

  Hey, Dana. Don't forget about Missouri.

  Yes, Missouri is is the third greatest state in the union.

  Well, actually I think New Hampshire would have a say in

  that they they were recently voted, I think by the Cato

  Institute as the freest state in the union with overtook Florida.

  Yeah. And and maybe I I I want to make

  sure I want to clarify what I said earlier what I what I

  didn't mean that from a perspective is actually I think

  it's ironic that the the in some ways the most in some ways

  conservative states. Are also states that are

  thriving right now, and at the same time the ones that are
• 14:18
  interested in bringing this legal tender legislation to the
• 14:23
  forefront and allowing their citizens to reclaim, because
• 14:27
  this is in the US Constitution, allowing their their citizens to
• 14:30
  reclaim their their right to use silver and gold as legal tender.

  And there's some states that are really still slow to accepting

  change, right. And you wouldn't call those

  states progressive, but Florida and taxes, because we're such

  large economies, we're very progressive in moving forward

  and accepting technologies that other states will not.

  So yes, and I think that's why Florida and taxes are such
• 15:28
  leaders in the state not state like the country because of the
• 15:33
  the steps they're willing to take to move forward and and
• 15:35
  accept new technologies and and and and so forth.

  But yes, I I, I forget what was the main point we were talking

  Let let's let's let's bring us up to speed on what's going on

  specifically right now in Florida is what's what's the

  status of the legislation. Yeah.

  So today is can I say the date on my sure, yeah.

  So today is Monday, November 27th.

  We have submitted the Sound Money Act into bill drafting.
• 16:05
  Every state calls it different, but bill drafting essentially
• 16:08
  are the attorneys that you said that the legislators send their
• 16:11
  bills and then they make sure it's formatted correctly and
• 16:13
  doesn't violate any laws and they and change things to make
• 16:16
  sure it's compliant with state law.
• 16:18
  So we've submitted it now a second time.
• 16:20
  We're expecting the bill to come out of bill drafting this week
• 16:24
  and then bank representative Banks and Senator Rodriguez
• 16:26
  should file the bill this week as well.
• 16:31
  And once we file the bills, we get bill numbers.
• 16:33
  So we'll be able to put a bill number on on like future
• 16:37
  interviews and and our websites and so forth on what to support
• 16:40
  and what specifically to to do then in December in Florida.

  This Florida is different from most states.
• 16:46
  We actually meet starting in September, what they call
• 16:51
  committee weeks and they meet for about two weeks a month and
• 16:56
  they they pass legislation. They hit listen committees that
• 16:59
  we had just had a special legislative session in November,
• 17:03
  but it's normally the first two weeks of the month.
• 17:06
  So in December, the week of the 4th and the week of the 11th, if
• 17:10
  we submit the bill in time, we our goal is to get the bills
• 17:14
  heard and passed through one committee, at least one,
• 17:18
  hopefully 21 in the Senate, one in the House before session
• 17:22
  starts next year, the 20th and 24th.
• 17:24
  So right now we're waiting for the bills to come out.

  Once it comes out, we glance over it, make sure it wasn't
• 17:30
  changed too much. We submit the bill.

  We might start getting this bill pushed through the legislative
• 17:37
  process starting in December. And once we know which
• 17:41
  committees are assigned for those that don't want to send
• 17:44
  the process or don't know over the process, once the bill's
• 17:46
  submitted and filed, then the Speaker of the House or the
• 17:50
  President of the Senate, depending on what legislative
• 17:52
  body you're in there. I think like Nebraska, they
• 17:55
  don't. It's a unicameral, but they
• 17:57
  choose where the bills go. So in the state of Florida and
• 18:01
  every state's different, I'm just talking about Florida.
• 18:04
  Typically if the the leadership only puts it in two committees,
• 18:08
  that means they it's a favorable wide leadership and they want to
• 18:11
  push it through. If it's put in three committees
• 18:13
  in each chamber, it's like neither here or there.
• 18:16
  They're they're passive. They don't.
• 18:18
  If they don't want to kill it, they don't want to push it
• 18:19
  through. But if it goes into 4
• 18:21
  committees, it's dead on arrival.
• 18:24
  The leader, if he goes to the four committees in Florida, it's
• 18:26
  not going to get through because that's a lot of hearings and
• 18:28
  there's not enough time. It's possible with enough
• 18:32
  grassroots, but we really only wanted to be in 22 committees.

  So that is where I would say if you live in the state of
• 18:40
  Florida, call your legislators and we'll post a link.

  your legislators and send those legislators emails.

  And if you really want to push sound money act, I recommend

  making a phone call. Here's a statistic for lobbying

  statistic. An e-mail counts for about 50
• 19:08
  votes. A phone call counts for about
• 19:12
  100 votes. A handwritten letter is around
• 19:15
  1000 votes. And if you go in person in the
• 19:18
  lobby, you represent 5000 votes. So yeah, send an e-mail.

  It's about 50. You're representing about 50
• 19:24
  votes. And it's important that you're
• 19:25
  sending it from your your district because legislators
• 19:29
  want to hear from their constituents, not from somebody
• 19:32
  from Alaska, from Florida. They want to hear from the
• 19:34
  constituents, not somebody from Tallahassee, from Miami.

  If you live in Miami and you have a Rep, you want to e-mail
• 19:40
  them specifically because that carries the most weight.
• 19:44
  And the legislators representing you, they don't represent the
• 19:47
  person in the district next door.
• 19:48
  They represent you. So it's most important you reach
• 19:51
  out to them. And I recommend giving them a
• 19:52
  call because if you e-mail them at 50, you call them, it's 150
• 19:55
  votes. And if you want to visit them at
• 19:56
  the district office, that's 5000 votes.

  So if you really want to get this pushed, go to the
• 20:02
  legislative district office. When they're not in session,
• 20:04
  they're like, hey. I'm here to support this bill,
• 20:07
  you know, So, yeah. And and go.
