Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:05Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:09Speaker 1: Sophie Torber and coming up on today's show, Sam Guggenheimer
- 0:13Speaker 1: and Izzy Armitage trade social media blows after confirming their
- 0:16Speaker 1: friendship is over. Matt Zukowski gets honest about how he
- 0:20Speaker 1: felt about Tammy's fling.
- 0:22Speaker 2: With Bailey Smith.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Jules Neal's iconic online moves following her public marriage breakdown
- 0:28Speaker 1: and Sophie Keisha changes her daughter's name again.
- 0:31Speaker 3: But first, Sky.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Wheatley has officially reconciled with her baby daddy, Lockie Waugh.
- 0:37Speaker 1: The former Big Brother contestant announced their split during an
- 0:40Speaker 1: Instagram Live in October. However, a couple of weeks later,
- 0:43Speaker 1: she backtracked, describing the situation as relationship limbo. Since then, Kate,
- 0:49Speaker 1: everyone has been hoping the couple would reunite.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Oh, I was so excited when I saw Sky's post
- 0:54Speaker 4: go up. So She broke the news in an Instagram
- 0:57Speaker 4: reel where she and Lockie cuddled and flirted on a
- 1:00Speaker 4: yacht and she captioned the video, life's good when you.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Break up, get back together, break up, get back together.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I just love the fact that she doesn't mind taking
- 1:09Speaker 1: the piss out of herself. She's always been.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Really transparent with her audience about her relationship with Lockie
- 1:15Speaker 4: and I think that that is why they are such
- 1:17Speaker 4: a beloved couple. Everyone can almost see themselves in them
- 1:20Speaker 4: because I think they are one of the only Aussie
- 1:23Speaker 4: influencer couples to actually air their dirty laundry and film
- 1:26Speaker 4: their fights. I mean, I think it's fair to say
- 1:28Speaker 4: also that the relationship has been pretty turbulent from the get-go.
- 1:31Speaker 4: So for those who don't know, they met on Tinder
- 1:34Speaker 4: and were only dating for a couple of months when
- 1:36Speaker 4: Sky fell pregnant with their first child, Forrest. To their credit, though,
- 1:40Speaker 4: they have really fought for this relationship over the last
- 1:42Speaker 4: eight years. This time, though, I was a little bit
- 1:45Speaker 4: nervous when I heard Sky talk about it on her
- 1:46Speaker 4: podcast back in December because She said it was the
- 1:49Speaker 4: longest time that they've been separated. And she said that
- 1:52Speaker 4: they normally have little breaks here and there, but get
- 1:54Speaker 4: back together not long after. So it seemed like this
- 1:57Speaker 4: break was a little bit different. The reality is, though,
- 1:59Speaker 4: I actually can't imagine these two with anybody else.
- 2:02Speaker 3: They seem quite well suited despite their arguments.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Well, I mean, it would be pretty hard if one
- 2:06Speaker 4: of them actually wanted to move on after this breakup
- 2:09Speaker 4: because it was a very unorthodox breakup. They were still
- 2:12Speaker 4: living together and renovating their home and co-parenting. So it's
- 2:16Speaker 4: not like you'd be like, oh, I'm just going out
- 2:18Speaker 4: on a date.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I think the reason, Amy, that you can't imagine them
- 2:20Speaker 1: with anyone else is because they both just sort of
- 2:23Speaker 1: seem like, I hate the word bonkers, but they both
- 2:26Speaker 1: just seem a bit off the planet, but they get
- 2:27Speaker 1: each other.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Like they have a similar sense of humor. They're quirky.
- 2:31Speaker 2: They're funny. Maybe they're too similar though. Maybe that's why
- 2:34Speaker 2: they fight all the time.
- 2:35Speaker 4: And as we said, when there were breakup rumors swirling,
- 2:38Speaker 4: they are renovating a house and have two young children together.
- 2:42Speaker 4: It's understandable that they're fighting. Perhaps they've gone, you know what?
- 2:45Speaker 4: We're under a lot of stress at the moment. Let's
- 2:47Speaker 4: just Work it out.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Well, that's the reason I think that they have actually
- 2:51Speaker 1: stayed together is because of those two things binding them together,
- 2:54Speaker 1: the very expensive mansion which they have been renovating for
- 2:57Speaker 1: eight years and their two children. I think they've said, look,
- 3:00Speaker 1: we've got too much to lose. Let's just give this
- 3:02Speaker 1: another go once things have quietened down.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Yeah, well, this news was very much celebrated in the
- 3:07Speaker 4: influencer community. So at the time of recording, the reel
- 3:09Speaker 4: has been viewed over 650,000 times and the Blue Tick
- 3:14Speaker 4: Brigade were out in full force to approve the reunion.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Sarah's Day wrote, so proud of you guys. I didn't
- 3:19Speaker 4: even know that Sarah's Day knew who Sky Wheatley was.
- 3:22Speaker 4: I'm guessing she was a Big Brother fan from back
- 3:24Speaker 4: in the day. Khan Ong also commented saying, I love
- 3:27Speaker 4: this for mum and dad. And Emily Hembrough added, yay,
- 3:30Speaker 4: love you too. Look, the world is healing.
- 3:32Speaker 1: The fact that Lockie and Sky are back together, I
- 3:35Speaker 1: feel right about things now.
- 3:36Speaker 4: Yeah, and I want to put it out there. In
- 3:38Speaker 4: our predictions episode, I said that I think they may
- 3:41Speaker 4: actually get engaged this year after reuniting.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Could be on the cards.
- 3:47Speaker 4: Jules Neill has been dubbed the people's princess in the
- 3:50Speaker 4: wake of her very public marriage breakdown to Brisbane Lions
- 3:53Speaker 4: player Lockie Neill. The mum of two who says she
- 3:56Speaker 4: faced unimaginable betrayal at the hands of her husband and
- 3:59Speaker 4: best friend has won the support of the entire nation
- 4:03Speaker 4: with her latest online moves labelled as iconic. We have
- 4:07Speaker 4: had so many listeners sliding into our DMs asking us
- 4:10Speaker 4: when we are going to speak about this story and
- 4:13Speaker 4: I think the reason that this story has captivated so many.
- 4:16Speaker 1: People is probably because it has all of the right
- 4:19Speaker 1: ingredients for the perfect scandal. You've got the AFL star,
- 4:23Speaker 1: you've got the stunning mum with the very aesthetic Instagram feed,
- 4:26Speaker 1: and then you've got the hot brunette who people.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Say has Angelina Jolie, other woman vibes.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I feel like this story just caught us at a
- 4:34Speaker 1: bad time because we were doing all of our end
- 4:36Speaker 1: of year wrap-up stories. but now feels like the right
- 4:39Speaker 1: time to talk about it because thankfully Jules has pulled
- 4:42Speaker 1: out some pretty iconic Taylor Swift coded behavior this.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Week and we have a lot of new angles to dissect.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I think we should get listeners up to speed
- 4:50Speaker 4: with the main players involved. So let's kick things off
- 4:53Speaker 4: with Lockie Neal. So he is an AFL player who
- 4:56Speaker 4: up until very recently was the co-captain of the Brisbane Lions.
- 5:00Speaker 4: So He's a very well-known player. He led the Lions
- 5:03Speaker 4: to a premiership win last year and is a dual
- 5:05Speaker 4: Brownlow medalist. I remember seeing Jules and Lockie on the
- 5:08Speaker 4: red carpet and they just look like the perfect couple.
- 5:10Speaker 4: So I think this is why it has shocked so
- 5:12Speaker 4: many people, particularly because he also seemed to be batting
- 5:15Speaker 4: out of his league with her.
- 5:16Speaker 3: It's always the way though, isn't it?
- 5:18Speaker 4: Like the men that are doing so well for themselves,
- 5:20Speaker 4: for some reason, they have a wandering eye.
- 5:22Speaker 1: It's because they get such an inflated ego because they
- 5:24Speaker 1: look at who they're with and think, well, I must
- 5:26Speaker 1: be pretty good if I got her. On the topic
- 5:29Speaker 1: of that, then there is his wife, Jules Neal. She
- 5:31Speaker 1: is a hairstylist and former salon owner. And she has
- 5:34Speaker 1: a very large social media following. Ironically, she has more
- 5:38Speaker 1: followers than her husband. So she has 127,000 followers, while
- 5:40Speaker 1: Lockie has 99,000. I'm guessing her following has gone up.
- 5:47Speaker 1: quite a few thousand since this story broke.
- 5:49Speaker 4: I literally followed her as soon as this scandal broke.
- 5:51Speaker 4: I want to know other listeners who did the same thing.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Sophie followed her more quickly than she followed Saffron Barker's
- 5:56Speaker 4: new boyfriend.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I was pretty quick to that one.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Now, it's quite a sad story because Lockie and Jules,
- 6:02Speaker 1: they have been together since they were teenagers. So they
- 6:05Speaker 1: first met when Lockie was a rookie for Fremantle and
- 6:08Speaker 1: they got married in 2018 right as Lockie was traded
- 6:11Speaker 1: to the Brisbane Lions and They also have two very
- 6:13Speaker 1: young children together. So a little girl called Piper, who
- 6:16Speaker 1: is only four years old, and a son, Freddie, who
- 6:18Speaker 1: just turned one.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Then there's Tess Crosley.
- 6:21Speaker 4: So she is Jules' longtime best friend. She's a bit
- 6:24Speaker 4: of a micro-influencer herself, an entrepreneur and a former Mormon missionary,
- 6:29Speaker 4: which I feel like adds a lot to this story.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Maybe she's trying to get a gig or a spin-off
- 6:34Speaker 4: series of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives because.
- 6:37Speaker 3: This is unreal.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I would watch that, definitely.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Well, there's something there, either that or Real Housewives of
- 6:42Speaker 4: Brisbane or something like that. Now, It's pretty sad because
- 6:45Speaker 4: these besties were permanent fixtures on one another's social media accounts.
- 6:49Speaker 4: They posted together at a lot of glamorous events and
- 6:52Speaker 4: they even hosted a podcast together called Backstage where they
- 6:56Speaker 4: spoke about fashion and Jules' life in the spotlight. We're
- 7:00Speaker 4: going to touch on this more later in the show.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Don't you feel like a best friend duo on a
- 7:05Speaker 4: podcast is literally the kiss of death to that friendship?
- 7:08Speaker 4: Like so many influencer friendships have broken up over podcasts.
- 7:12Speaker 4: I think it's lucky that we're sisters and maybe that
- 7:14Speaker 4: there's three of us because I think that this podcast
- 7:16Speaker 4: would have been dead in the ground first year up
- 7:18Speaker 4: with the amount of arguments that we've had over it.
- 7:20Speaker 4: I mean, based on some of the arguments we've had
- 7:22Speaker 4: over these microphones that haven't aired on the podcast, we
- 7:24Speaker 4: probably shouldn't be friends.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Maybe if we had more respect for ourselves, we wouldn't
- 7:27Speaker 2: be friends anymore.
- 7:29Speaker 4: No, that's just being sisters.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Who else is really keen to go and have a
- 7:32Speaker 1: listen to Backstage Now, the podcast? Because I feel like
- 7:35Speaker 1: the Daily Mail for sure would have a journo assigned
- 7:38Speaker 1: to trawl through that to see if there's any little
- 7:41Speaker 1: tidbits on there, anything titillating where the husband's referred to.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Well, podcasts now have that thing where AI generates this
- 7:49Speaker 4: automatic transcript. So I can just imagine the Daily Mail
- 7:51Speaker 4: journalist typing in keywords like, Lockie and husband and seeing
- 7:55Speaker 4: what comes up.
- 7:55Speaker 3: You're giving them ideas now.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like a few of them listen to
- 7:59Speaker 1: this podcast. So yeah, there's a bit of a heads
- 8:00Speaker 1: up for you. It's quite scandalous because it's being reported
- 8:04Speaker 1: that Tess and her husband, Ben, live in the same
- 8:06Speaker 1: suburb as the Neils.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Some publications have even gone as far as calling them neighbours.
- 8:11Speaker 4: Well, I suppose we would see this type of drama
- 8:13Speaker 4: on Ramsey Street, wouldn't we?
- 8:14Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely.
- 8:16Speaker 1: And when you have a look at their social media followings,
- 8:19Speaker 1: it's quite clear that the two family's accounts were very intertwined.
- 8:22Speaker 1: There were lots of posts about joint holidays and parties
- 8:26Speaker 1: and dinners out. It's quite interesting because when you reflect
- 8:29Speaker 1: on double dates that you've gone on with your partner,
- 8:32Speaker 1: you always put your best foot forward, don't you? When
- 8:34Speaker 1: there's other people around. And I wonder if that's what's
- 8:37Speaker 1: happened in this situation where they've gone on these double
- 8:39Speaker 1: dates and Lockie seemed like this really great guy who's,
- 8:43Speaker 1: you know, supportive and fun.
- 8:45Speaker 4: But surely if they're best friends, she would have heard
- 8:48Speaker 4: the bad sides of him as well.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Like you go and have a bitch to your best friend.
- 8:52Speaker 4: But in saying that, I feel like this dynamic happens
- 8:55Speaker 4: a lot. Like you always hear, oh, this person is
- 8:57Speaker 4: cheating and it's often with the best friend. So maybe
- 9:00Speaker 4: in this scenario, the best friend is using some of
- 9:03Speaker 4: that information to her advantage. I have literally heard a
- 9:06Speaker 4: similar story this week from my husband and it is
- 9:09Speaker 4: not one of his friends. I won't disclose how we
- 9:11Speaker 4: know the people because it will be quite obvious who
- 9:13Speaker 4: it is. But a similar situation happened where this couple
- 9:17Speaker 4: were hanging out on holidays with another couple and they
- 9:20Speaker 4: did a bit of a partner swap, two of them.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Is that what happens on holidays though when people get
- 9:25Speaker 1: in bathers and stuff? Like just everything kind of turns
- 9:27Speaker 1: a bit inappropriate?
- 9:28Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 9:29Speaker 4: It's always these like tropical holidays where something goes down.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Like someone's putting some cream on someone's back.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Talking about awkward, one photo that has been splashed around
- 9:38Speaker 4: in the press is this picture of Tess and her
- 9:40Speaker 4: husband hanging posing alongside Lockie and Jules at the Lions
- 9:44Speaker 4: grand final win. So in the photo, Tess is standing
- 9:48Speaker 4: very close to Lockie. It almost looks like she's kind
- 9:51Speaker 4: of cuddled up to him. And when you look very closely,
- 9:54Speaker 4: her knee is resting on his leg and her husband
- 9:58Speaker 4: is standing on the other side of Lockie. next to Jules.
- 10:01Speaker 3: It looks like they're a couple.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Yeah if you were an outsider looking at this photo
- 10:04Speaker 1: you would assume that Tess and Lockie were together and
- 10:07Speaker 1: Ben and Jules were together.
- 10:09Speaker 2: It looked very odd how they weren't standing with their partner.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Those photos made me so mad because The fact that
- 10:15Speaker 4: they were willing to pose like that in plain sight,
- 10:17Speaker 4: it was just such an F you to both of
- 10:19Speaker 4: their partners.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Yeah, we need to get into the fallout. So in December,
- 10:24Speaker 1: rumours of a marriage breakdown started to emerge when Jules
- 10:27Speaker 1: unfollowed Lockie and started removing photos of him from her account.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I mean, it's always a bit of a giveaway. And
- 10:33Speaker 1: he was also nowhere to be seen when she posted
- 10:36Speaker 1: about their son Freddie's first birthday. Reports then started to
- 10:40Speaker 1: emerge that the couple were working through their issues and
- 10:43Speaker 1: But Jules immediately reclaimed the narrative for herself. So she
- 10:47Speaker 1: said that this was not the case at all. In
- 10:50Speaker 1: an Instagram story, she wrote, I want to make it
- 10:52Speaker 1: very clear that I am not working through anything. I
- 10:55Speaker 1: have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way. All I
- 10:58Speaker 1: can do now is try to heal and do what's
- 11:01Speaker 1: best for my children. Thank you for the love and support.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Social media has really changed the game because in the past,
- 11:07Speaker 4: when AFL players used to cheat on their partners, You'd
- 11:10Speaker 4: only hear from the club and it was this media statement.
- 11:14Speaker 4: You know, think about Wayne Carey when he cheated with
- 11:17Speaker 4: his teammate's wife. However, now the wives can actually get
- 11:20Speaker 4: on their social media and say, no, no, no, this
- 11:22Speaker 4: is not correct. This is my point of view. And
- 11:25Speaker 4: I think that's why they're getting so much more support
- 11:28Speaker 4: than they did back in the day.
- 11:29Speaker 3: I think it also helps that she has so many followers.
- 11:32Speaker 4: Like the fact, as Sophie mentioned, that she has more
- 11:34Speaker 4: followers than her husband and She has a lot of
- 11:37Speaker 4: power in this situation. It's quite clear that she also
- 11:40Speaker 4: wanted people to dig a little bit deeper and find
- 11:42Speaker 4: out the real reason that they were breaking up. I
- 11:45Speaker 4: think she also wanted to make it clear that she
- 11:47Speaker 4: wasn't being walked all over. She wasn't just working through things.
- 11:50Speaker 2: She was out the door.
- 11:51Speaker 4: Yeah, and it wasn't long before Super Sleuths noticed that
- 11:53Speaker 4: Jules had unfollowed Tess on Instagram and photos of the
- 11:57Speaker 4: best friends together had disappeared from her feed. In a
- 12:00Speaker 4: now-deleted comment, Jules wrote under the grand final photos, Take
- 12:05Speaker 4: these down, you idiot.
- 12:06Speaker 2: You're embarrassing yourself.
- 12:08Speaker 1: I respect that so much. That is something that I
- 12:11Speaker 1: would do. Get real petty and just start blowing your
- 12:14Speaker 1: lid about this shit. Like I actually think she was
- 12:16Speaker 1: quite reframed. I would have said much worse.
- 12:19Speaker 4: I loved the term idiot because it actually describes her
- 12:21Speaker 4: so perfectly. I'm disappointed though that the comment has been
- 12:25Speaker 4: removed because I would have liked to have gone and
- 12:26Speaker 4: liked it. And I also would have liked to have
- 12:28Speaker 4: seen how many other people liked this comment. Oh, it
- 12:31Speaker 4: would have got thousands of likes. It's funny because when
- 12:34Speaker 4: I first heard that she was deleting photos of her
- 12:38Speaker 4: and Tess together, I was like, oh, you know, it
- 12:41Speaker 4: must have been because she was so mad. But then
- 12:43Speaker 4: the fact that she commented asking Tess to take the
- 12:45Speaker 4: photo down, I wonder if it was a bit of
- 12:47Speaker 4: damage control because she would have known this photo would
- 12:50Speaker 4: do the absolute rounds in the media. Maybe she's trying
- 12:52Speaker 4: to protect her kids from seeing the photo.
- 12:54Speaker 1: You can see why she was so furious and left
- 12:56Speaker 1: a comment because it's believed that Jules found out about
- 12:59Speaker 1: this alleged affair through a teammate's wife who allegedly caught
- 13:03Speaker 1: Lockie and Tess in a compromising position in a car.
- 13:07Speaker 4: It's pretty incredible that the partner of one of his
- 13:10Speaker 4: teammates actually came out and told Jules because I'm sure
- 13:13Speaker 4: a lot of this goes on behind closed doors and
- 13:16Speaker 4: a lot of teammates would be like, do not say anything.
- 13:19Speaker 4: This is going to have massive ramifications for the Brisbane Lions,
- 13:22Speaker 4: which it has.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Particularly because Lockie was one of the co-captains as well.
- 13:26Speaker 4: He obviously had a lot of power at the club. Yeah, well,
- 13:29Speaker 4: he's actually had to step down as co-captain. He fronted
- 13:31Speaker 4: the press in January to confirm the separation and he
- 13:34Speaker 4: ended up apologising for letting his family down. To me,
- 13:38Speaker 4: watching this press conference, it felt like the Brisbane Lions
- 13:40Speaker 4: didn't back him because he wasn't wearing team gear. He
- 13:44Speaker 4: was just wearing a white T-shirt with ORTC. I'm sure
- 13:46Speaker 4: they were not pleased that he was repping them at
- 13:49Speaker 4: that point. It was very reminiscent of Wayne Carey's media
- 13:51Speaker 4: conference where he admitted to having an affair with his
- 13:55Speaker 4: teammate's wife. He was wrapping a white shirt. Maybe this
- 13:58Speaker 4: is the uniform now for the cheaters in the AFL. Well,
- 14:00Speaker 4: he ended up having to leave North Melbourne to go
- 14:02Speaker 4: to the Crows. So I would not be surprised if
- 14:04Speaker 4: Lockie Neal isn't playing for Brisbane. But the difference in
- 14:07Speaker 4: this is that it was actually a teammate's wife. So
- 14:11Speaker 4: there was a lot of division caused within the club.
- 14:13Speaker 1: As well as Brisbane not wanting him to wear their merchandise,
- 14:17Speaker 1: I also think that the sponsors wouldn't have wanted to
- 14:19Speaker 1: be associated with this scandal as well. Because He has
- 14:22Speaker 1: been painted as this absolute dirty dog and everyone has
- 14:25Speaker 1: been siding with Jules. Well, it's a clear move to say,
- 14:28Speaker 1: this is something I did in my personal life. This
- 14:30Speaker 1: is not associated with the club. I think the thing
- 14:33Speaker 1: that's been really different about this story is in the past,
- 14:36Speaker 1: women would have just hidden from the public eye and
- 14:39Speaker 1: they would have felt a lot of shame when in reality,
- 14:42Speaker 1: of course.
- 14:43Speaker 2: They shouldn't.
- 14:43Speaker 1: But Jules has tried to reclaim the narrative. And I
- 14:47Speaker 1: am living for her pot shots, which she has been
- 14:50Speaker 1: firing out. Now, the first came last week in the
- 14:52Speaker 1: form of a photo dump on Instagram. So she shared
- 14:56Speaker 1: some poolside snaps of her in Perth. Looking, side note,
- 14:59Speaker 1: incredible in this blue polka dot bikini and a cowboy hat.
- 15:03Speaker 2: I mean, lucky. What a fucking idiot for fumbling Jules.
- 15:06Speaker 2: She is so good looking. I mean, I'm sure she's
- 15:08Speaker 2: a wonderful person as well. I'm just being totally shallow here.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I've seen all the TikToks that are like, how
- 15:14Speaker 3: did he fumble this?
- 15:15Speaker 4: Like basically he is absolutely bashing out of his league.
- 15:19Speaker 1: The thing that everyone is talking about with this photo
- 15:21Speaker 1: dump is the iconic song that she had as the
- 15:23Speaker 1: backing track. So it was Taylor Swift's Father Figure song.
- 15:27Speaker 4: I'm probably not going to do it justice, but I'm
- 15:29Speaker 4: going to read out the bridge that she included in
- 15:31Speaker 4: this photo dump because it actually gave me goosebumps. I
- 15:33Speaker 4: know I'm pathetic, but this is what it said. She included,
- 15:36Speaker 4: you want to fight? You found it. I got the
- 15:38Speaker 4: place surrounded.
- 15:39Speaker 1: You'll be sleeping with the fishes before you know you're drowning.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Whose portrait's on the mantle? Who covered up your scandals?
- 15:46Speaker 1: Mistake my kindness for weakness and find your card cancelled.
- 15:49Speaker 2: I was your father figure. You pulled the wrong trigger.
- 15:52Speaker 2: This empire belongs to me. Leave it with me.
- 15:55Speaker 4: I'm disappointed that she didn't include the line about her
- 15:57Speaker 4: dick being bigger than the devil.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Do you know what?
- 16:00Speaker 4: I'm disappointed because now that you've read out the lyrics,
- 16:02Speaker 4: I thought it said fishies instead of fishes.
- 16:04Speaker 5: Really? Yeah.
- 16:05Speaker 3: I thought it was like, you'll be sleeping with the fishies.
- 16:08Speaker 3: I mean, gosh, okay. Why is my face red?
- 16:12Speaker 1: She did such a good job though, because does that?
- 16:14Speaker 1: bridge not perfectly sum up what's happened.
- 16:16Speaker 2: It's such a fuck you. It's saying that you've messed
- 16:19Speaker 2: up big time and everyone's on my side.
- 16:21Speaker 4: Well, the comment section truly revealed where the AFL's inner
- 16:24Speaker 4: circle stand in this scandal. Jacinta Franklin, who is married
- 16:28Speaker 4: to Hawthorne player Buddy Franklin, wrote, bow down with a
- 16:31Speaker 4: crown and queen emoji. There was also a bunch of
- 16:34Speaker 4: other wives and girlfriends of AFL players who showed their
- 16:36Speaker 4: support on the post, which I loved. This song choice
- 16:39Speaker 4: also didn't go unnoticed on TikTok. There have been so
- 16:42Speaker 4: many creators praising Jules for this iconic move. One video,
- 16:46Speaker 4: which has attracted over 255,000 views, shows a creator called
- 16:48Speaker 4: Caitlin and literally bowing down at Jules and giving her
- 16:55Speaker 4: a round of applause. And she captioned it, all hails
- 16:58Speaker 4: Jules Neal for this incredible song choice. In the comment section,
- 17:03Speaker 4: one user wrote, can we make her like really famous?
- 17:06Speaker 4: While another said she really is the people's princess.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Protect her at all costs.
- 17:11Speaker 4: Well, the newspapers are trying to make her famous. She
- 17:13Speaker 4: was front page the other day for going to the
- 17:15Speaker 4: Australian Open.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Well, it probably helps that she has also signed with
- 17:19Speaker 1: a talent agency called One Daydream. They are probably one
- 17:22Speaker 1: of the top talent agencies in Australia and they described
- 17:25Speaker 1: her as a strong presence across beauty, fashion and lifestyle.
- 17:30Speaker 1: The digs also continued on TikTok when Jules shared video
- 17:33Speaker 1: of a night in that she had with friends. So
- 17:35Speaker 1: she and her friends made mood boards for the year
- 17:38Speaker 1: and Jules has featured a quote that said, I'm stepping
- 17:40Speaker 1: into the most successful decade of my life.
- 17:43Speaker 2: She also shared this TikTok where she was sipping a
- 17:46Speaker 2: glass of wine in the sun at this beautiful winery
- 17:48Speaker 2: and she captioned it, I don't understand how they could
- 17:51Speaker 2: do that, dot, dot, dot, exactly. What a blessing not to.
- 17:56Speaker 4: And the TikTok was set to the Olivia Deen song
- 17:58Speaker 4: Lady Lady, which had very pointed lyrics that said, that lady.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Lady, she's the man.
- 18:03Speaker 4: I love that the social media pettiness has moved on
- 18:06Speaker 4: from sharing song lyrics or quotes to this type of content.
- 18:09Speaker 3: This is the type of content I live for.
- 18:11Speaker 1: It got a huge response on TikTok, as expected.
- 18:14Speaker 2: It got over 800,000 views.
- 18:16Speaker 1: One user wrote, I've never seen a woman act with
- 18:18Speaker 1: such certainty after being betrayed. Left in, packed up and moved,
- 18:22Speaker 1: selling the house. I think it's actually inspiring for a
- 18:25Speaker 1: lot of women who feel trapped in these situations. I'm
- 18:27Speaker 1: sorry you had to go through this, but know so
- 18:30Speaker 1: many of us are cheering you on, queen. Now that
- 18:32Speaker 1: comment got over 5,000 likes. Abby Chatfield also weighed in.
- 18:37Speaker 1: She wrote, exactly queen. Whilst Michelle Andrews wrote, we love Jules.
- 18:40Speaker 1: So I really wouldn't be surprised.
- 18:42Speaker 4: If we saw Jules Neal popping up on the Inherited
- 18:45Speaker 4: podcast sometime soon.
- 18:46Speaker 3: That would be great. I would actually really love to
- 18:48Speaker 3: hear that.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Bella Messina also wrote, as someone who has publicly gone
- 18:52Speaker 4: through a very similar thing, you are my icon. I
- 18:55Speaker 4: like that she took it as an opportunity to take
- 18:57Speaker 4: a pot shot at her ex-husband as well. There's pot
- 18:59Speaker 4: shots left, right, and center in this. Now, Jules did
- 19:02Speaker 4: make headlines again this.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Week when she gave a brief interview to the Herald
- 19:06Speaker 1: Sun upon touching down in Melbourne for the Aussie Open.
- 19:09Speaker 1: She told the reporter that she was excited to be
- 19:11Speaker 1: back in Melbourne to experience VIP courtside seats at the
- 19:15Speaker 1: men's singles quarterfinals with a sponsor. She said, this is
- 19:18Speaker 1: my first Australian Open and I'm loving Melbourne's vibe in January.
- 19:22Speaker 1: I'm so excited to be here. She continued saying, yes,
- 19:25Speaker 1: the last few months have been a lot, but being
- 19:27Speaker 1: back in Perth with family has really helped me reset
- 19:30Speaker 1: for 2026. She even provided a subtle dig at her
- 19:33Speaker 1: husband saying, Gabby and I are sitting on Centre Court
- 19:36Speaker 1: tonight watching and honestly, I'm loving being back in Melbourne
- 19:39Speaker 1: and watching another sport.
- 19:42Speaker 4: She also shared some snaps to her Instagram writing, girls
- 19:45Speaker 4: just want to have fun at the AO.
- 19:47Speaker 1: I think she's also subtly sharing photos. with a lot
- 19:50Speaker 1: of her other friends to be like, I'm the girl's girl.
- 19:53Speaker 2: In this situation.
- 19:54Speaker 1: I do wonder if Jules has taken some inspiration from
- 19:58Speaker 1: how Nadia Bartel dealt with the whole Jimmy Bartel cheating scandal,
- 20:02Speaker 1: because when that happened to Nadia, instead of pulling back
- 20:06Speaker 1: from public life, she really managed to propel her business
- 20:10Speaker 1: Henny forward and win a lot of public support. I mean,
- 20:12Speaker 1: that year that the cheating scandal came out, we even
- 20:15Speaker 1: saw her hosting the.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Red carpet at the Brownlow. So it showed that there
- 20:19Speaker 2: were a lot of people in the AFL world who
- 20:21Speaker 2: were on her side.
- 20:23Speaker 1: And I feel like Jules has thought, fuck that.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I'm going to do the same thing as Nadia.
- 20:27Speaker 1: I'm going to capitalize on this viral support that I'm
- 20:30Speaker 1: receiving and I'm going to make lemonade from lemons.
- 20:32Speaker 3: And I think the.
- 20:33Speaker 4: Reason that so many people are getting behind Jules is
- 20:35Speaker 4: is that this really is the ultimate betrayal. It's not
- 20:38Speaker 4: just her husband that has cheated on her. I think
- 20:40Speaker 4: a lot of people are saying, like, what the fuck?
- 20:42Speaker 4: How could your best friend treat you like that? It's
- 20:45Speaker 4: almost as if we expect an AFL player like Lockie
- 20:48Speaker 4: Neal to be a dirtbag, but you don't expect your
- 20:51Speaker 4: best friend to do it to you. My only fear
- 20:54Speaker 4: for Jules is once the media are done with their
- 20:58Speaker 4: story of her betrayal and pumping her up, there probably
- 21:02Speaker 4: is going to be a narrative switch where they start saying, oh, well,
- 21:06Speaker 4: why is she still.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Using her ex-husband's last name? She's trying to write off
- 21:09Speaker 1: his coattails, similar to what happened to Nadia for a
- 21:12Speaker 1: short space of time. But in this case, this is
- 21:14Speaker 1: a woman who has two young children. She is now
- 21:17Speaker 1: looking to have to support those children and find a
- 21:20Speaker 1: career for herself. And she wants to do so in
- 21:23Speaker 1: the public eye through social media because it is a
- 21:26Speaker 1: career that means a lot.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Of women can be home with their children.
- 21:28Speaker 3: I really hope that doesn't happen.
- 21:30Speaker 4: But as you said, Soph, when the media realizes that
- 21:33Speaker 4: a personality is going to get them clicks, they're going
- 21:35Speaker 4: to continue to write about that person and make up
- 21:38Speaker 4: a whole load of shit. Like all it will take
- 21:40Speaker 4: is one negative comment on TikTok and they'll probably turn
- 21:43Speaker 4: it into some kind.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Of story with a new angle.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Matt Zukowski has finally revealed how he really felt about
- 21:50Speaker 4: his ex-wife Tammy Hembrough moving on so quickly after with
- 21:53Speaker 4: Geelong footballer Bailey Smith. Just months after the couple confirmed
- 21:57Speaker 4: their divorce, Tammy made headlines after she was papped with
- 22:00Speaker 4: the AFL star. Now, speaking on the Kyle and Jackie
- 22:03Speaker 4: O show, Matt said this.
- 22:06Speaker 5: I don't think jealousy is the right word. I mean,
- 22:08Speaker 5: I openly said that I was a bit like, oh, wow, because, yeah,
- 22:13Speaker 5: it was quite soon after and I was doing my
- 22:15Speaker 5: own healing process and I saw that and I was like, oof.
- 22:18Speaker 5: I was like, okay, yeah. Triggering.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Is what I would say.
- 22:24Speaker 5: You never hooked up with anyone after the... You never.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Or maybe not publicly. You didn't flout it. You didn't
- 22:30Speaker 2: flout it around.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:32Speaker 5: No one likes to see the person they used to
- 22:34Speaker 5: love and married hooking up with someone else. That's a
- 22:37Speaker 5: knife to anyone's chest, man.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:39Speaker 4: This is why Kyle and Jackie O earned so much money.
- 22:41Speaker 4: They did such a good job at buttering Matt up
- 22:43Speaker 4: and making him feel comfortable. I mean, Kyle even chucked
- 22:46Speaker 4: in this question, oh, have you hooked up with anyone else?
- 22:48Speaker 4: I mean, Matt was smart enough not to answer that.
- 22:51Speaker 4: But the fact that they managed to get that grab
- 22:53Speaker 4: out of him saying it was a knife to his chest.
- 22:55Speaker 4: I mean, as soon as I heard that, I was like,
- 22:57Speaker 4: that is a headline waiting to happen. And of course,
- 22:59Speaker 4: the media ran with it.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Well, it ended up being the title of the podcast
- 23:02Speaker 1: that Kyle and Jackie O dropped that day as well.
- 23:04Speaker 4: Well, the interview initially didn't get off to a good
- 23:06Speaker 4: start when Kyle referred to Matt Zukowski by the wrong
- 23:09Speaker 4: last name.
- 23:10Speaker 3: It was rather awkward.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Yeah, he called him Matt Zawowski. It sounded like that
- 23:14Speaker 1: cartoon character Mike Wachowski. which a number of people have
- 23:18Speaker 1: been referring to Matt as.
- 23:21Speaker 4: The funniest thing was Matt didn't realise they were live
- 23:23Speaker 4: and he's like, oh, it's actually Zukowski.
- 23:25Speaker 3: And they're like, oh, shit, are we on?
- 23:27Speaker 4: When I heard him say that, I was like, shit,
- 23:29Speaker 4: have we been mispronouncing his name.
- 23:30Speaker 3: For the last three years? Yeah, he was over-emphasising.
- 23:33Speaker 4: I think he was trying to over-emphasise it because he
- 23:35Speaker 4: didn't think he was on air yet.
- 23:36Speaker 1: It was awkward though because you could tell Kyle was like, fuck,
- 23:39Speaker 1: because as you said, Kate, he was trying to butter
- 23:40Speaker 1: him up during that interview and it was a good
- 23:42Speaker 1: segue because he was.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Like, look, Matt, I know that you're a big deal
- 23:45Speaker 2: in the influencer world.
- 23:46Speaker 4: I don't have social media, but I've seen the headlines
- 23:49Speaker 4: and obviously you were married to Tammy Hembrough. And as
- 23:52Speaker 4: you say, Kate, that is where he started to be
- 23:54Speaker 4: very sympathetic and he was like, you know, Jackie and
- 23:56Speaker 4: I have been divorced before and I really admire the
- 24:00Speaker 4: way that you and Tammy have been so respectful of
- 24:02Speaker 4: each other.
- 24:03Speaker 2: And you could tell Matt was probably.
- 24:04Speaker 6: Like, wow.
- 24:05Speaker 5: Wow.
- 24:06Speaker 2: This guy gets it.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Particularly because Matt has his own podcast. You can tell
- 24:11Speaker 4: that he would love to be on radio. And I
- 24:14Speaker 4: think he thought it was kind of his big break
- 24:16Speaker 4: to impress Kyle and Jackie O. At one stage, I
- 24:19Speaker 4: thought that maybe Matt was hitting on Jackie O because
- 24:21Speaker 4: he kept referencing her a lot by name and he
- 24:24Speaker 4: seemed to try and sympathize with her.
- 24:26Speaker 3: And if you think about it, she would be right
- 24:28Speaker 3: up his alley. She's got a profile. She's blonde.
- 24:30Speaker 4: He went for Kira Maguire before and Tammy Hembrough.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Who knows?
- 24:34Speaker 1: Well, he seems to be her type as well because-
- 24:36Speaker 1: She has gone for some younger guys. She's known as
- 24:39Speaker 1: being a bit of a cougar these days. I actually
- 24:41Speaker 1: didn't pick up on any flirting at all, though.
- 24:44Speaker 4: I more got the vibe that he was quite starstruck
- 24:47Speaker 4: by them. It is pretty ironic that he made this
- 24:50Speaker 4: omission about Bailey Smith on their show, considering it was
- 24:53Speaker 4: Kyle who was the one that got the scoop that
- 24:55Speaker 4: Bailey wasn't taking.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Tammy to the Brownlow convention.
- 24:58Speaker 4: It was that iconic interview where he friendzoned her that
- 25:01Speaker 4: Tinder has just been running with for the last couple
- 25:03Speaker 4: of weeks. Well, Kyle also managed to get a new
- 25:05Speaker 4: nugget of information we didn't know about their relationship. He
- 25:08Speaker 4: asked Matt if he was still in contact with Tammy
- 25:11Speaker 4: and Matt admitted that he hasn't spoken to Tammy since
- 25:13Speaker 4: they announced their separation in June. See, I feel like
- 25:16Speaker 4: Tammy was trying to give Matt a bit of a
- 25:18Speaker 4: message in her most recent TikTok get ready with me
- 25:21Speaker 4: because she was going through the jewelry she was wearing
- 25:24Speaker 4: and And Matt has spoken about how they both used
- 25:26Speaker 4: to wear this Sarah and Sebastian bracelet with each other's
- 25:30Speaker 4: initial on it. And he said that he realized things
- 25:32Speaker 4: were definitely over with Tammy when he spotted she wasn't
- 25:35Speaker 4: wearing hers anymore. And then we spoke about it at
- 25:38Speaker 4: Christmas time. He ended up going into Sarah and Sebastian
- 25:41Speaker 4: and getting his T removed off his and he got
- 25:44Speaker 4: his own initial on it. And he said that he
- 25:47Speaker 4: broke down in the store. But then Tammy said that
- 25:50Speaker 4: she still actually wears hers, but she just tells herself
- 25:53Speaker 4: it's a W rather than an M.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Look, she's rich enough to go and get a new one.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Just go and get an actual W and cut that
- 25:58Speaker 1: thing off your wrist.
- 25:59Speaker 2: You don't need it anymore.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Sophie Keisha has soft launched a new name for her
- 26:05Speaker 1: youngest daughter. Ahead of her first birthday, the pajama mogul
- 26:09Speaker 1: casually dropped that her daughter Esme has a new surname.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Sophie, can you tell us more? Yeah, well, Sophie isn't.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Really a stranger to changing her children's name. She famously
- 26:19Speaker 1: legally changed her first daughter's name from Betty to Florence,
- 26:23Speaker 1: and that was a couple of weeks after she was
- 26:26Speaker 1: born back in 2017. It generated a lot of headlines
- 26:29Speaker 1: at the time.
- 26:30Speaker 4: I wouldn't be too unhappy with that name change. Florence
- 26:32Speaker 4: is such a popular name now. Yeah, and the name
- 26:34Speaker 4: Betty kind of has old lady vibes. No offence to
- 26:37Speaker 4: any Bettys who are listening or anyone who's named their
- 26:40Speaker 4: child Betty. So traditionally did Florence. Like it's one of
- 26:43Speaker 4: those names that's been revived.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Well, it's quite ironic because Sophie Keisha's Florence was quite
- 26:49Speaker 1: sad that she wasn't called Betty after Taylor Swift.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Released the song Betty. She's like, hey, mom, that would
- 26:54Speaker 2: have been way cooler.
- 26:55Speaker 4: Well, this case is a little bit different because it's
- 26:57Speaker 4: not Esme's first name that's being changed. It's actually her
- 27:00Speaker 4: last name. And this is to include Sophie's partner, Maddie Prespakis'
- 27:04Speaker 4: surname in it.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Yeah, she subtly dropped the news on her Instagram when
- 27:08Speaker 1: she uploaded a photo of her baby daughter with the caption,
- 27:11Speaker 1: smile if you turn one next week, Esme Prespakis Shaw.
- 27:15Speaker 1: It blows my mind that Esme is almost a year old. Like,
- 27:19Speaker 1: it seemed like only yesterday that we were talking about
- 27:21Speaker 1: her gender reveal.
- 27:22Speaker 4: It really goes to show a lot can change in
- 27:24Speaker 4: a year because it was only this time last year
- 27:26Speaker 4: that Sophie and Maddie did a Q & A just
- 27:29Speaker 4: before Esme was born where they spoke about what Maddie's
- 27:32Speaker 4: role would be with the baby and So for some background,
- 27:36Speaker 4: Sophie made the decision to have a baby on her
- 27:38Speaker 4: own via a sperm donor. She was dating Maddie at
- 27:41Speaker 4: the time, but she didn't want to pressure the then
- 27:43Speaker 4: 24-year-old into taking on such a big responsibility.
- 27:46Speaker 1: There is a 10-year age gap between Sophie and Maddie,
- 27:50Speaker 1: which I think also played into it.
- 27:52Speaker 2: They were very freshly dating as well.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Sophie also has two older children with her ex-husband, Jared Kasher,
- 27:58Speaker 1: who Maddie seems to have a great relationship with.
- 28:01Speaker 4: Yeah. So in this Q & A from last year,
- 28:03Speaker 4: Sophie spoke about how she would be raising the baby
- 28:06Speaker 4: on her own and Maddie wouldn't be taking on a
- 28:08Speaker 4: parenting role. She also said that Maddie wouldn't be called
- 28:11Speaker 4: mum and she would just be referred to as Mads.
- 28:14Speaker 4: And it's really beautiful because this has actually all changed.
- 28:16Speaker 4: So in August last year, Maddie did an interview with
- 28:19Speaker 4: AFL.com.au where she opened up about her involvement in Esme's life.
- 28:24Speaker 4: So she referred to herself as the baby's bonus mum.
- 28:28Speaker 4: and said while it was ultimately up to Esme to
- 28:30Speaker 4: decide on what she was called, she did confess it
- 28:33Speaker 4: probably will be mum.
- 28:34Speaker 1: I have a really soft spot for Maddie. She seems
- 28:36Speaker 1: like a really grounded, lovely person. In this interview, she
- 28:41Speaker 1: was gushing about how much Esme had changed her life
- 28:44Speaker 1: and how Sophie and her children mean so much to her.
- 28:47Speaker 4: I like how she kept it real because she did
- 28:49Speaker 4: say that she had been shitting herself the whole time
- 28:51Speaker 4: Sophie was pregnant but had found the experience really grounding
- 28:55Speaker 4: and said it had helped her football career. In another
- 28:58Speaker 4: big step for the couple, Sophie put her home up
- 29:01Speaker 4: for sale that she used to share with her ex-fiance basketballer,
- 29:04Speaker 4: Maddie Garrick. So in an interview with realestate.com.au, she revealed
- 29:09Speaker 4: that she will be buying a new home with Maddie
- 29:11Speaker 4: Press Packers. So Sophie told the publication, Maddie and I
- 29:14Speaker 4: will definitely be buying together. It's not about proving anything
- 29:17Speaker 4: to anyone else. We're just really aligned in what we want.
- 29:21Speaker 4: It's quite funny because when I read that, I could
- 29:24Speaker 4: actually hear her saying it because I feel like Sophie
- 29:27Speaker 4: can get rather defensive in interviews and no doubt that's
- 29:31Speaker 4: because of her experience of being online in 10 years.
- 29:34Speaker 4: I think she always feels like she's got to defend herself.
- 29:37Speaker 4: Where in reality, it's like, well, that's great that you
- 29:38Speaker 4: guys are moving in because this big happy family. Like,
- 29:41Speaker 4: I think it's excellent news.
- 29:43Speaker 6: I don't really know a way to go about it
- 29:45Speaker 6: and I don't want it to be drama on the internet.
- 29:48Speaker 4: Sammy Guggenheimer has finally confirmed the internet's worst kept secret.
- 29:52Speaker 4: She and Izzy Armitage are no longer friends. Over the
- 29:56Speaker 4: last year, rumours have been swirling that the influencer besties
- 29:59Speaker 4: were feuding after they pulled the pin on their joint podcast.
- 30:03Speaker 4: Tired of being constantly questioned over the friendship, Sam finally
- 30:07Speaker 4: put an end to the speculation on her Instagram story.
- 30:09Speaker 6: I don't really know a way to go about it
- 30:12Speaker 6: and I don't want it to be drama on the
- 30:14Speaker 6: internet and that's the last thing I want. But obviously
- 30:19Speaker 6: everyone keeps on asking about my friendship with Izzy and
- 30:22Speaker 6: my relationship with Izzy and it's... really hard because like,
- 30:28Speaker 6: I don't want there to be drama on the internet
- 30:30Speaker 6: and I, that's the last thing I want. So I
- 30:31Speaker 6: think I've definitely avoided it and I've avoided the question
- 30:35Speaker 6: for so long because it, I don't want there to
- 30:39Speaker 6: be sides and everyone to team Sam or team easy
- 30:42Speaker 6: or like what went wrong and that us just discuss
- 30:44Speaker 6: the drama and everything online. I just don't think it's necessary. Um,
- 30:51Speaker 6: but yeah, like we're not friends and, um, We haven't
- 30:54Speaker 6: been friends for quite a while and I just want
- 30:57Speaker 6: to respect her space.
- 30:59Speaker 4: We discussed this friendship bust up in October after Sam
- 31:02Speaker 4: addressed it on the Inherited podcast. In the interview, Sam
- 31:06Speaker 4: claimed that their podcast Just For Girls put a strain
- 31:09Speaker 4: on their friendship and she said they decided to pull
- 31:11Speaker 4: the pin on the podcast to avoid a public friendship
- 31:15Speaker 4: bust up. It really felt at the time that Sam
- 31:18Speaker 4: was pussyfooting around it as much as she could, but
- 31:20Speaker 4: it was glaringly obvious that these two were no longer friends.
- 31:24Speaker 4: She even made a comment saying that she was happy
- 31:26Speaker 4: for Izzy and hoped Izzy was happy for her, which
- 31:28Speaker 4: made it abundantly clear that she actually didn't know what
- 31:31Speaker 4: was going on with Izzy and that they weren't actually talking.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Now, this wasn't good enough for the internet. They needed
- 31:36Speaker 1: a definitive answer. And I tend to agree.
- 31:39Speaker 4: If you have showcased this friendship on a podcast for years,
- 31:43Speaker 4: We need to know the dirty details of what went down,
- 31:47Speaker 4: particularly when you're in your early 20s and people are
- 31:50Speaker 4: known for being petty. And what we have recently seen
- 31:53Speaker 4: is an incredibly petty display that my past 20 self
- 31:56Speaker 4: would be proud of because it seems like Sam was
- 31:59Speaker 4: set off by a now deleted TikTok that Izzy posted
- 32:03Speaker 4: that appeared to be aimed at her. In the video,
- 32:06Speaker 4: Izzy and her friends dance to this trending sound. Now,
- 32:26Speaker 4: as you can imagine, it didn't take long for followers
- 32:28Speaker 4: to speculate in the comments that Izzy's video was in
- 32:31Speaker 4: fact aimed at Sam. Sam's best friend, Bill Barker, then
- 32:35Speaker 4: entered the chat He wrote, this is not the flex
- 32:38Speaker 4: you think it is. Now, it didn't stop there. After
- 32:41Speaker 4: Sam's Instagram story, Izzy posted another thinly veiled swipe at
- 32:46Speaker 4: her former bestie. So Izzy gave the rude finger or
- 32:49Speaker 4: the bird, whatever you like to say, to the camera
- 32:52Speaker 4: with the caption, fuck you. Her friend then pushed her
- 32:56Speaker 4: out the way of the camera with the caption, we're
- 32:58Speaker 4: so sorry. And another friend then pushed her out the
- 33:01Speaker 4: way and gave double fingers to the camera and said, no,
- 33:05Speaker 4: fuck you. Now, the pettiness didn't end there because Sam
- 33:08Speaker 4: replied copying the video and she brought in the big guns.
- 33:12Speaker 4: So she let her mum serve up the final blow
- 33:15Speaker 4: at the end with the double fuck you. And I
- 33:17Speaker 4: think that says a lot about the situation. When you
- 33:19Speaker 4: bring your mum in, there is no one that's going
- 33:21Speaker 4: to stand up more for you than your mum. And
- 33:23Speaker 4: there's probably no one that hates you. Izzy Armitage more
- 33:26Speaker 4: than Sam Guggenheimer's mum because that's what mums do. They
- 33:29Speaker 4: take your side.
- 33:29Speaker 1: I could definitely see our mum getting on board a
- 33:32Speaker 1: trend like this if we asked her to because she
- 33:35Speaker 1: hates anyone who crosses us in any way.
- 33:38Speaker 2: You will always be in Linda Torber's bad books if
- 33:41Speaker 2: you ever do anything against us. That sounds like a
- 33:44Speaker 2: bit of a warning. It's it's not a warning, but
- 33:46Speaker 2: it's just the way that she is and I love
- 33:47Speaker 2: her for it.
- 33:48Speaker 4: She actually holds a grudge longer than we do because
- 33:50Speaker 4: she'll still send me stuff from people that may have
- 33:52Speaker 4: crossed us like 10 years ago. I'm like, oh, are
- 33:54Speaker 4: we still talking about them? Like I kind of, you know,
- 33:56Speaker 4: forgotten about it. In regards to Izzy, I have seen
- 33:59Speaker 4: a lot of commentary going around that she's giving off
- 34:01Speaker 4: mean girl energy and okay, she probably is. But I
- 34:06Speaker 4: think sadly, this is just the reality of friendships in
- 34:09Speaker 4: your twenties. I think we've all been through it, particularly
- 34:11Speaker 4: when you don't have high school, your part-time job, because
- 34:14Speaker 4: these two work to cook high together, bonding you together anymore. Fortunately,
- 34:19Speaker 4: most of us don't have a large social media platform
- 34:22Speaker 4: where this all plays out, or you're like us and
- 34:25Speaker 4: you only had MySpace back then.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Unfortunately, it's all been deleted.
- 34:27Speaker 4: Look, let's not be ageist because we have seen Ashley
- 34:30Speaker 4: Bynes and her 30-something friends also playing out pettiness like
- 34:35Speaker 4: this on TikTok. So, I mean, age does not discriminate here.
- 34:39Speaker 4: And I think that all of us are here for
- 34:41Speaker 4: the pettiness. I mean, My only thing is I'm not
- 34:43Speaker 4: a fan of people giving the finger.
- 34:45Speaker 2: I don't know why.
- 34:47Speaker 1: I think it probably stems from being an identical triplet
- 34:50Speaker 1: because you, Kate, we, fun fact, our first cars were
- 34:54Speaker 1: all master twos and we got them in slightly different colours.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I got the black, you had the grey, Amy had red. Anyway,
- 35:00Speaker 1: I would always get so scared because you'd have road
- 35:03Speaker 1: rage incidents where you would flip the bird so willy-nilly.
- 35:06Speaker 1: You'd give anyone the bird and I was always scared
- 35:08Speaker 1: that you'd give someone the bird that I knew.
- 35:11Speaker 2: And they'd think it was me.
- 35:13Speaker 4: I wouldn't say there were road rage incidents. Like I
- 35:15Speaker 4: think if someone does something in the car and you
- 35:17Speaker 4: give them the bird, it's not that big of a deal.
- 35:19Speaker 4: But I have stopped doing that. I say more recently
- 35:22Speaker 4: since being a parent.
- 35:23Speaker 2: You're also a fan of the horn.
- 35:24Speaker 1: So I have been driving with you in the car
- 35:26Speaker 1: before and you will lean over and toot my horn
- 35:30Speaker 1: quite aggressively.
- 35:31Speaker 4: Well, but you've got to use it. It's a warning device. Anyway,
- 35:34Speaker 4: back to Sam and Izzy. I am kind of surprised
- 35:36Speaker 4: that it took this long for them to confirm the
- 35:39Speaker 4: feud because 2025 was really the year of friendship bust-ups.
- 35:43Speaker 4: I mean, you only have to think about the start
- 35:45Speaker 4: of last year. Michaela Tester really blew things up by
- 35:49Speaker 4: calling out her former bestie, Anna Paul. We also had
- 35:52Speaker 4: Jackie Alexander and Gabby Sullivan. And it's a really good
- 35:55Speaker 4: way for influencers to stay relevant. It kind of got
- 35:59Speaker 4: to the point where there were so many friendship bust-ups
- 36:01Speaker 4: that you're thinking, are people just doing this to drive engagement?
- 36:05Speaker 4: I think that maybe we should put out there that
- 36:07Speaker 4: we've had a bust up. Maybe we'll unfollow each other.
- 36:10Speaker 1: It's quite funny because I have unfollowed you guys a
- 36:12Speaker 1: number of times on Facebook. But yeah, maybe I need
- 36:15Speaker 1: to do something a bit more public. Maybe Instagram would
- 36:17Speaker 1: be a better format to do it in.
- 36:19Speaker 4: That was so annoying last time because I think you
- 36:21Speaker 4: also blogged us. And that meant that you were like
- 36:24Speaker 4: automatically out of all the group chats and then you
- 36:27Speaker 4: were like, can you add me back in? It was
- 36:29Speaker 4: so annoying.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Maybe it's a great way for us to launch our
- 36:31Speaker 1: Mums Group podcast, for us to have this fake friendship
- 36:34Speaker 1: bust up.
- 36:34Speaker 4: Let's start the rumour going. I mean, Amy has disappeared
- 36:37Speaker 4: from this conversation. Lifting the veil up for a second,
- 36:41Speaker 4: that is because this.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Is the second time that we are recording this podcast
- 36:46Speaker 1: today and Amy has had to leave to go and
- 36:50Speaker 1: edit this the part we've started because it's 8.30 at night,
- 36:53Speaker 1: which anyone who is a mum knows that this is
- 36:55Speaker 1: very late for us. I haven't even had my dinner.
- 36:57Speaker 1: This is throwing my whole fucking night out. But I mean,
- 36:59Speaker 1: I think it is my fault that this didn't record.
- 37:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:02Speaker 4: So normally we try and record in our son's nap times.
- 37:05Speaker 4: They all sort of have a similar nap schedule. And
- 37:08Speaker 4: we did. We managed to somehow get it all done.
- 37:11Speaker 4: And then two hours later, I got informed that the
- 37:13Speaker 4: version that you and Amy recorded at her house didn't
- 37:17Speaker 4: actually record. It somehow deleted itself from the SD card.
- 37:21Speaker 4: So to be honest, the fight that we had after
- 37:24Speaker 4: that probably could cause a massive feud between us, but
- 37:26Speaker 4: we've got on with it. And I'm very much looking
- 37:29Speaker 4: forward to having my dinner. So I hope people have
- 37:30Speaker 4: enjoyed this episode because, I mean, I actually think it
- 37:33Speaker 4: was better the second time, to be honest.
- 37:35Speaker 1: I mean, I actually think I liked the first time around.
- 37:37Speaker 1: It was a bit more organic. But, you know, let
- 37:39Speaker 1: us know if you have enjoyed this episode. I mean,
- 37:41Speaker 1: could I be cheeky and request a five-star.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Rating for us having to back it up and do
- 37:46Speaker 4: it twice?
- 37:47Speaker 2: That would be quite lovely.
- 37:48Speaker 4: Do you know what? This is almost punishment for the
- 37:50Speaker 4: fact that we decided to take Tuesday's episode off. We're like, no,
- 37:53Speaker 4: we're going to be strict this year. We're going to
- 37:55Speaker 4: allow ourselves to enjoy long weekends with our families. But
- 37:58Speaker 4: I think that just shows we can't do it. We
- 38:00Speaker 4: have to record at least three episodes a week. Anyway,
- 38:04Speaker 4: on that, we do have a bonus episode that drops
- 38:07Speaker 4: every Thursday for Outspoken Plus subscribers. If you're not a subscriber,
- 38:11Speaker 4: what are you doing? It's an excellent deal. You get
- 38:13Speaker 4: an extra episode every.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Week, $ 5. 99 a month.
- 38:17Speaker 4: All the details to sign up are in the show notes.
- 38:20Speaker 3: And that's where we're going to leave things today because
- 38:21Speaker 3: we're incredibly hungry. If you do enjoy the show, as.
- 38:23Speaker 4: Sophie begged, please leave us a five-star review. This podcast
- 38:27Speaker 4: is recorded on the traditional land of the Kaurna people
- 38:29Speaker 4: of the Adelaide Plains. We pay respect to elders past
- 38:32Speaker 4: and present.
