- 0:04long time.
- 0:27From the gym to the screen, yeah,
- 0:29we cover it all.
- 0:30Midday motivation every time you press
- 0:32call.
- 0:33Lunch with the Clydesdale.
- 0:35Cowboy bring the heat.
- 0:37Crossfit movies.
- 0:38Music on repeat.
- 0:41Half hour hustle, yeah,
- 0:41we building that brand.
- 0:43Grab a plate.
- 0:44Tune in now, you part of the fam.
- 0:46It's lunch time.
- 0:47What's going on?
- 0:48It is.
- 0:50It is.
- 0:57Uh, not a whole lot.
- 0:58What's happening with you?
- 1:00I am super curious because that you,
- 1:02you know,
- 1:02who doesn't know what's in lunchtime?
- 1:05My employer.
- 1:07Oh yeah.
- 1:07No, I'm certain about that.
- 1:09They don't,
- 1:10they don't give a shit about my lunchtime.
- 1:13One bit.
- 1:13I put it on my calendar.
- 1:18I block it off.
- 1:18That's my time.
- 1:19I don't get paid for lunch.
- 1:21Right.
- 1:21Right.
- 1:22Like they don't own me during the time
- 1:25I block it off.
- 1:26Yet people just blow through the barricade
- 1:30on my calendar.
- 1:32That isn't even what happened today.
- 1:34What happened today was I had an eleven
- 1:37thirty meeting.
- 1:39It was supposed to go till twelve.
- 1:41The people we were supposed to meet with
- 1:42showed up ten minutes late.
- 1:45We didn't even get to the point until
- 1:47five till noon.
- 1:48Of course not.
- 1:51So noon hit.
- 1:52I was like, sorry guys,
- 1:54got an appointment out the media.
- 1:56I went, I just walked off.
- 1:59I, you guys talk about yourselves thing.
- 2:02Cause I was,
- 2:03I'm listen in the grand scheme of things.
- 2:08I learned a long time ago that they
- 2:10don't give two shits about me.
- 2:11No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 2:14I am just a,
- 2:15I am just an aunt in the workplace.
- 2:18The little worker aunt, uh,
- 2:20feeding the queen bee i ain't the queen
- 2:23bee and so they don't care about me
- 2:26i'm actually glad you're not the queen
- 2:28well that's the analogy man there are no
- 2:32king ants man not with that attitude
- 2:35there's carpenter ants there's worker ants
- 2:39i'm just i'm down there with the laborers
- 2:42and i was like peace out i'm done
- 2:46looks like you've been working missing a
- 2:47lot of work lately there peter
- 2:50I wouldn't say I've been missing it, Bob.
- 2:57Exactly.
- 2:59I watched that just like two months ago,
- 3:01maybe again.
- 3:02God, it's so good, dude.
- 3:04So good.
- 3:05My judge.
- 3:07I don't think I appreciated it the first
- 3:09couple times I watched it.
- 3:11Now I appreciate it so much.
- 3:14You have to be well-versed in dry humor
- 3:17to be able to keep up with it,
- 3:20really and truly,
- 3:22and to realize that some of the stuff
- 3:23is just absurd, right?
- 3:25Well,
- 3:27I deal with all of that bullshit on
- 3:30a daily basis.
- 3:32That is real life.
- 3:33Everybody thinks it's a parody.
- 3:36It is not.
- 3:39There is management that are that
- 3:42clueless, that dumb.
- 3:46It's awful.
- 3:48Yeah.
- 3:57If you haven't seen after last night's
- 3:58first NFL game,
- 3:59the Dallas Cowboys have been officially
- 4:01eliminated from the playoffs.
- 4:03We can only hope.
- 4:04We can only hope.
- 4:06Here's what's going to happen.
- 4:08If there's any Dallas Cowboy fans,
- 4:09it looks like Birch might be one.
- 4:12This is what's going to happen.
- 4:12You're going to have false hope for about
- 4:16eight, nine weeks or so,
- 4:17and reality is going to set back in,
- 4:19and you're just going to be so close,
- 4:22and then you're going to miss the playoffs
- 4:23again.
- 4:23Or, because there's two options here,
- 4:26or you're going to have false hope for
- 4:27about eight,
- 4:28nine weeks because they're going to be
- 4:30doing really, really well and whatnot,
- 4:31and they're going to barely squeak into
- 4:32the playoffs and then lose in the first
- 4:34round because that's what the Cowboys do.
- 4:37Sorry, it's just a fact.
- 4:45Saying we are a global company and I
- 4:47get emails all hours of the day and
- 4:50night.
- 4:51So the vendor we work with got bought
- 4:54a couple times.
- 4:55Like it is,
- 4:57like the letterhead changes literally
- 4:59every couple months.
- 5:01And I work for the government.
- 5:05I work for the state government.
- 5:08Meaning we can't have people outside the
- 5:10country with access to like what we have
- 5:14going on.
- 5:16It's kind of an important factor in what
- 5:19we do.
- 5:20How the hell am I getting emails at
- 5:22three a.m.? ?
- 5:28I'll never understand that kind of stuff.
- 5:30I was, matter of fact,
- 5:31I had a conversation with my son this
- 5:32morning before I left the house and
- 5:33letting him know, like,
- 5:34I was just talking about like prioritizing
- 5:37life and work and all that kind of
- 5:38stuff.
- 5:38Cause he's kind of struggling with that
- 5:40right now with his second semester in
- 5:41college or second year in college to say.
- 5:43And I said, look, do you have to,
- 5:46you got to prioritize what's important to
- 5:47you.
- 5:48I said,
- 5:49my life is compartmentalized into the fact
- 5:51that I get up early in the morning,
- 5:52I go to the gym and nothing else
- 5:54matters while I'm there.
- 5:56Unless your mom calls and one of y'all
- 5:58is in trouble or the house is on
- 6:00fire.
- 6:00Or someone breaks your gas meter.
- 6:03Somebody breaks your gas meter.
- 6:04Get away from it.
- 6:06And then I leave and I go to
- 6:07work.
- 6:07And while I'm at work, I'm at work.
- 6:11Same thing.
- 6:12Same rules apply.
- 6:13Nothing else matters unless one of y'all
- 6:14is in trouble or the house is on
- 6:15fire.
- 6:15Something along those lines.
- 6:17And then when I go to lunch,
- 6:18I'm on lunch, dude.
- 6:19I don't want to hear about work.
- 6:21When I get home, I'm home.
- 6:25Now,
- 6:25there are some caveats to that because a
- 6:27lot of my customers do have my personal
- 6:29number and they will text me from time
- 6:31to time, randomly, usually at six thirty,
- 6:33seven o'clock at night.
- 6:34It's because of something that they think
- 6:36that I'm the only person that can put
- 6:38that fire out.
- 6:38And generally speaking,
- 6:40it's because I've told them as much.
- 6:42But it's the exception, not the rule.
- 6:45I don't check my email at three o'clock
- 6:47in the morning.
- 6:49Nor am I going to, right?
- 6:51Much less am I going to send one
- 6:53to somebody else.
- 6:54That's insane.
- 6:57Wild talk to me.
- 7:02There's actually a schedule button in
- 7:05Outlook that allows you to send the email
- 7:07during work hours and nobody cares.
- 7:10There's also a button in Outlook that
- 7:12allows you when scheduling a meeting to
- 7:15see when other people have time blocked
- 7:18off.
- 7:22Don't show up ten minutes late and then
- 7:23expect you get ten minutes of my time.
- 7:26Yeah.
- 7:27No, if you're ten minutes late,
- 7:28you're ten minutes late.
- 7:29Hey, what did I miss?
- 7:30Bring me up to speed,
- 7:31and let's go from there.
- 7:33were running the meeting dude oh that's
- 7:35even that's even worse yeah that's your
- 7:38problem you don't get my time after you
- 7:40scheduled thirty minutes and ten of them
- 7:42you didn't show up for yeah that's on
- 7:44you not on me that's a you problem
- 7:46it's not a neat problem by any stretch
- 7:48of the imagination um speaking of like the
- 7:53wild wacky have you caught up on lioness
- 7:57yet
- 7:57No, I have not.
- 8:00We haven't had, again,
- 8:01eight-year-old at home.
- 8:04It's hard for me.
- 8:05We're still right where we were,
- 8:06which is still in season one.
- 8:08I have absolutely no idea.
- 8:10I've definitely not caught up to the
- 8:11newest stuff.
- 8:13If you would have asked me five years
- 8:16ago,
- 8:17about the script of lioness i would have
- 8:20said man that's far-fetched right now i
- 8:24think damn that's it's about as it is
- 8:27hitting so close to reality so close to
- 8:31reality right now it's like it was
- 8:35predicting the future before it happened i
- 8:37mean the dude is good at what he
- 8:40does um
- 8:43I caught up on it last night, Julie,
- 8:45and I finally got to sit down and
- 8:47watch a little bit of TV before the
- 8:49game.
- 8:49Holy shit, dude.
- 8:54I will more than likely be able to
- 8:56get caught up at least a little bit
- 9:00or get caught up.
- 9:01I mean,
- 9:01we're still in season one as far as
- 9:03that goes,
- 9:03but at least get further along what we
- 9:05were probably Friday night.
- 9:07um because jameson's going to sleep at my
- 9:09mother-in-law's house um so that because
- 9:11me and jim's got a five k to
- 9:13run wednesday morning so we'll probably
- 9:15have a little bit of time where we
- 9:16can actually do adult type stuff and watch
- 9:19something that she's not allowed to watch
- 9:21so i'll probably get at least at least
- 9:24get closer to where everybody else is but
- 9:26get closer to real time at that point
- 9:27come that
- 9:28Retired Steve,
- 9:29it does feel like a real-time documentary.
- 9:33It is hitting so close to reality right
- 9:35now.
- 9:36Yeah.
- 9:37Dude.
- 9:38That's awesome.
- 9:39It's crazy.
- 9:43Oh my gosh, Tessa.
- 9:44Thank you so much.
- 9:45Right?
- 9:47Be mushy.
- 9:48I love that kind of mush.
- 9:52Not mad at that at all.
- 9:53Not mad at that at all.
- 9:56She says, not to be mushy, but Scott,
- 9:58your shows are my favorite in the space.
- 10:01Well, we love you all too,
- 10:02so we do.
- 10:03Thank you.
- 10:06Andrew Sten, it's like Tom Clancy.
- 10:08The government talked to him about the
- 10:09tech he wrote about in his books.
- 10:11He said, if they have this,
- 10:13then they probably have something better
- 10:14like this.
- 10:15Smart writers.
- 10:18My dad was a Tom Clancy nut.
- 10:21Every book, the minute it came out,
- 10:24sat down,
- 10:24plowed through it in like a day or
- 10:26two.
- 10:26He was very unlike me in the reading
- 10:28aspect of life.
- 10:30He didn't have beef with LeVar Burton.
- 10:33He did not.
- 10:34Him and LeVar Burton were like tight.
- 10:39And he would always say,
- 10:43you can't tell me this guy hasn't been
- 10:45inside the Pentagon.
- 10:48Walking around snooping as he goes because
- 10:51it's hitting way too close to home.
- 10:54But I think Andrew Stead actually hits it
- 10:56more on the tail.
- 10:57He did research.
- 10:58He talked to former Pentagon people and
- 11:00said, okay,
- 11:01if this is where we're at on this
- 11:03date,
- 11:04I'm betting technology and everything have
- 11:06advanced to this level by this date.
- 11:10Yeah.
- 11:11And just nailed it.
- 11:14educated smart educated guesses like
- 11:17predicting the future type stuff but based
- 11:19on reality not just you know we're gonna
- 11:22all have flying cars no we're not that's
- 11:25probably not gonna happen type deal but
- 11:27you can look at stuff and go okay
- 11:30from here you know from this point to
- 11:32this point we make this jump from this
- 11:33jump so if we have this right now
- 11:35then maybe in a couple years we'll
- 11:36probably have this like that's that's a
- 11:38much more logical way to look at stuff
- 11:43Do you ever watch Neil deGrasse Tyson?
- 11:46From time to time.
- 11:48There's occasionally where I'll start
- 11:50watching something and then I'm just in
- 11:52that mood to go down the rabbit hole
- 11:54of myth-busting all of movies and
- 11:59whatever.
- 12:01And I was watching one one time where
- 12:04the flying car thing came up.
- 12:06And he was like,
- 12:08it is so not able to happen because...
- 12:12The thrust propulsion,
- 12:15the downforce it would create on the
- 12:18people below to get a car up and
- 12:20moving would wipe out tens of thousands of
- 12:26people.
- 12:26Yeah.
- 12:28Right?
- 12:29There's a reason why there's only like a
- 12:31handful of aviation devices that can take
- 12:35off straight up and then... Right?
- 12:39Right.
- 12:41There's a, uh,
- 12:42I saw it the other day,
- 12:44somebody selling it's all electric.
- 12:46It's got four motors on it.
- 12:48It looks like a motorcycle,
- 12:50but it's a personal flying device.
- 12:53It's got a range of like.
- 12:56thirteen miles or something like that.
- 12:57So I was doing the math,
- 12:59looking at it straight from the house to
- 13:00the office type deal.
- 13:03Telling the wife, I was like, I mean,
- 13:04for, you know,
- 13:05one hundred eighty thousand dollars,
- 13:06I can just I don't even have to
- 13:08worry about traffic.
- 13:09I can just fly from here to there.
- 13:11But I like custom one off type deals
- 13:13and you can't.
- 13:15Here's the other thing about it,
- 13:17just from a practicality standpoint,
- 13:18say somebody breaks up open technology
- 13:21tomorrow.
- 13:22All of a sudden now,
- 13:24flying cars are relatively cheap.
- 13:27Let's call them affordable and highly
- 13:30doable type deal.
- 13:35If you think traffic is bad when people
- 13:37have four wheels on the ground and are
- 13:42riding around driving like this with their
- 13:44phone in their hand,
- 13:45not looking at what they're actually doing
- 13:47with four wheels on the ground,
- 13:48now you want to get them to fly?
- 13:50No.
- 13:51Just no.
- 13:54Vicky had it right.
- 13:55The only flying car that is possible is
- 13:57a DeLorean.
- 13:58Clearly.
- 13:59And it also goes back in.
- 14:00We know that from a documentary done in
- 14:02nineteen eighty five.
- 14:03We did.
- 14:05We absolutely did.
- 14:07Um, Steve says,
- 14:09I wouldn't want to be standing below a
- 14:10Harrier jet taking off.
- 14:12You don't want to just be standing below
- 14:14them.
- 14:14You don't want to be anywhere near them
- 14:16while they're taking off.
- 14:17Cause that shit doesn't just go straight
- 14:18down.
- 14:19It's going to go down and out everywhere
- 14:22around from it.
- 14:22No.
- 14:26Um,
- 14:29There's talk about like a wife that's in
- 14:31the medical field and that everything is
- 14:33not real.
- 14:33And then Shanna says, agreed,
- 14:35but I saw a resuscitation in an English
- 14:37show that was right on.
- 14:38I was so happy.
- 14:41That guy looked like he really needed
- 14:43resuscitated.
- 14:45And they did such a good job.
- 14:46It would look so realistic.
- 14:48Here's the thing is that what most people
- 14:50don't realize when you're watching
- 14:51somebody do something like that on a TV
- 14:53show, especially if it's not, you know,
- 14:56nine, uh,
- 14:57cops or something along those lines,
- 14:59whatever is that, uh,
- 15:01Real actual life-saving stuff.
- 15:05It might be exciting because it's
- 15:06happening, but generally speaking,
- 15:08it looks boring.
- 15:09You need to, you gotta,
- 15:11for lack of a better word,
- 15:12jazz it up to be able to put
- 15:14it on,
- 15:15to be able to put it on TV
- 15:16and make it look somewhat interesting.
- 15:18It's the lack of a better word because
- 15:19that is the best word.
- 15:20That is the best word, yeah.
- 15:23You can't be better than jazzy.
- 15:25That is just the best word ever.
- 15:28And you can use that word to get
- 15:30thirdsy at fifteen percent off.
- 15:32There it is.
- 15:33Just type it into the promo code area,
- 15:36get fifteen percent off or go to
- 15:38thirdsy.com backslash Jazzy.
- 15:41Get the same thing.
- 15:42And the new chocolate flavor is amazing.
- 15:46So go check that out.
- 15:50No, Ramirez, Jazzy does not count.
- 15:53yeah it's a whole different neither
- 15:55neither does jiggy neither does jizzy
- 15:58neither does any of those yeah jazzy it
- 16:01has to be jazzy to get your fifteen
- 16:02percent off yeah which i mean fifteen
- 16:05percent off is pretty jazzy from being
- 16:07honest here i mean i like the cat's
- 16:10pajamas but that doesn't get me fifteen
- 16:12percent off anything oh i've never
- 16:14actually seen a cat in pajamas
- 16:17Not that I said that Vicky's going to
- 16:18bring us a cat in pajamas, but whatever.
- 16:20It's fine.
- 16:23There it is.
- 16:24New chocolate flavor.
- 16:25Bam.
- 16:26Like a little hot chocolate before bed.
- 16:30Hey, Ramirez is messing around,
- 16:33but I still say the bee's knees on
- 16:37occasion.
- 16:37And it's usually like I'm specifically
- 16:40saying it on purpose.
- 16:41Like, oh, it was the bee's knees.
- 16:43Oh,
- 16:45I use cat's pajamas in the same context
- 16:49all the time.
- 16:49And I keep telling my wife I'm trying
- 16:51to bring it back from the nineteen
- 16:53twenties.
- 16:54Single handedly.
- 16:55Just stop.
- 16:55It isn't going to happen.
- 16:58It's the cat's pajamas.
- 17:01Well,
- 17:01I just threw up in my mouth a
- 17:03little bit.
- 17:04Hot chocolate is my stripper name.
- 17:07Shouldn't it be caramel chocolate or hot
- 17:09caramel there, Ramirez?
- 17:11Although hot caramel sounds dangerous.
- 17:14Just throwing that.
- 17:15Or fried ice cream.
- 17:16Fried ice cream.
- 17:19There used to be,
- 17:19when I was in high school,
- 17:21there was a band of kids from my
- 17:23school that that's what their,
- 17:25the name of their band was,
- 17:26was Fried Ice Cream.
- 17:28But it was P-H-R-Y-E-D and then I and
- 17:32then scream.
- 17:35John George,
- 17:36I may have tried the code wax on,
- 17:37wax off, and it didn't work.
- 17:40Well, it will be.
- 17:42You got to give it time, dude.
- 17:43You got to give it time.
- 17:47We got to change the whole thing up.
- 17:50Stop trying to make fetch a thing.
- 17:52Yeah, that was my wife to me.
- 17:55That's fantastic.
- 17:59it used to be dark chocolate oh as
- 18:02you've gotten older now it's just milk
- 18:04chocolate just hot chocolate is that what
- 18:07it is there it is cat in pajamas
- 18:11cat's pajamas same hey different day I'm
- 18:16about to say same hey different day I
- 18:18like that there's no truer saying for me
- 18:22today same hey different day same hey
- 18:25different day
- 18:28Oh, gosh.
- 18:31I went to the doctor this morning for
- 18:33my annual.
- 18:35Did you tell me you were exposed to
- 18:37a gas leak yesterday?
- 18:39I did not.
- 18:41I did not.
- 18:43Look, if any of my blood works off,
- 18:45sorry,
- 18:46but I was exposed to a gas leak
- 18:47yesterday.
- 18:48Not really my fault.
- 18:50So I hope Shannon doesn't take offense to
- 18:52this.
- 18:52She probably will.
- 18:53But what's wild to me now is like,
- 18:55you go in, you get your vitals,
- 18:58you have a conversation,
- 19:00they plug this stuff into a computer and
- 19:03it like actually spits out a risk
- 19:05assessment, a health risk assessment.
- 19:13So we're to the point now where
- 19:19It's like what the insurance companies do
- 19:21to find out how much they charge you
- 19:24for your life insurance.
- 19:26Now the doctor can say, well,
- 19:28we got your risk assessment down from
- 19:31eighteen percent to nine percent or
- 19:34whatever.
- 19:35Right.
- 19:35Cut in half, baby.
- 19:37Let's go.
- 19:39That's... So...
- 19:46Jeremy, I am not talking to you anymore.
- 19:54When the teams hit the field here in
- 19:56a couple weeks,
- 19:58I don't need to listen to your bullshit
- 19:59because it's all going to be proven on
- 20:03the field.
- 20:03I don't even need to talk about it
- 20:05anymore.
- 20:06There it is.
- 20:08So we're in a fantasy football league
- 20:09together.
- 20:10Jeremy has sent nine posts this morning
- 20:13about the Bears sucking.
- 20:15Because his team sucks so bad that he
- 20:18can't even pay attention to his own team.
- 20:20He's got to worry about my team and
- 20:22how bad they are.
- 20:24He's deflecting at this point.
- 20:27Yeah.
- 20:30That's outstanding.
- 20:33Wayne, yeah, great.
- 20:34AI actuaries.
- 20:37It's kind of what it's like.
- 20:38Yeah.
- 20:40But the good news is my risk assessment
- 20:43is dropping.
- 20:44And when my blood tests come back today,
- 20:46hopefully it goes down more.
- 20:48She's optimistic that I've dropped my risk
- 20:51assessment from January to today by ten
- 20:54percent.
- 20:55This is a hard fact right here.
- 20:57Not surprised about this.
- 20:58Just another parameter put upon us to
- 21:00measure by insurance companies.
- 21:04As soon as you said that,
- 21:04like now that they're giving you, oh,
- 21:06here's your risk assessment,
- 21:08whatever that's supposed to mean, right?
- 21:12I can elaborate.
- 21:13Oh, please do.
- 21:15So it's not just an overall risk
- 21:19assessment,
- 21:19but there's also risk assessments for
- 21:21certain things.
- 21:23So it's not just the insurance companies,
- 21:24but it's the pharmaceutical companies.
- 21:26Because if your risk assessment is high
- 21:29in, say, cholesterol, they'll say, well,
- 21:32because your risk assessment is above
- 21:34this,
- 21:35we need to get you on a statin.
- 21:36Right?
- 21:38Right.
- 21:41Oh,
- 21:43because your risk for diabetes is here.
- 21:45We need to get you on metformin.
- 21:51And I love my dog.
- 21:52I really do.
- 21:53She's awesome.
- 21:54And if I say,
- 21:55I don't want to be on a statin,
- 21:56she'll be like, okay, well,
- 21:58that exercise can work too.
- 22:00And I'm like, yep, it can.
- 22:02Thank goodness.
- 22:04This, so.
- 22:06when duane who is my actual primary care
- 22:09physician who's also jennifer's first
- 22:10cousin actually gets me in there to do
- 22:12my yearly right and he'll get my blood
- 22:15work back and he'll be like well you
- 22:17know a little bit high and i'm like
- 22:21duane you know me just as well as
- 22:23just about anybody else says we work out
- 22:25in the same gym five to six days
- 22:27a week do you really think i give
- 22:29a shit what that blood work says right
- 22:30now honestly like i understand you're
- 22:33doing your job i get that part of
- 22:34it i said but
- 22:37Am I fixing to die?
- 22:38Does this blood work say I'm fixing to
- 22:39pass out or I need to?
- 22:41Well, no, but I'd like to see.
- 22:43I don't give a shit about the numbers,
- 22:44though.
- 22:45I'm good.
- 22:47Unless you found cancer somewhere growing
- 22:49inside of my body that we need to
- 22:50cut out,
- 22:51we just going to keep on going like
- 22:52we keep on going.
- 22:54I take care of sick kids.
- 22:55Thankfully,
- 22:56I don't need to bother with this yet.
- 23:01The study sponsored by Big Pharma has
- 23:03confirmed its effectiveness.
- 23:06The whole risk assessment thing,
- 23:08it reminds me of any time now I
- 23:11put my actual body weight into something
- 23:14and they give me a BMI reading back
- 23:16on it.
- 23:18And they're like, oh, well,
- 23:19you're five foot six and one hundred
- 23:20eighty five pounds.
- 23:22You're obese.
- 23:23Am I?
- 23:25Am I?
- 23:26I really don't feel like I am.
- 23:28Well, whether we like it or not,
- 23:29genetics plays a role, too.
- 23:31Oh,
- 23:31they factor in genetics because they make
- 23:33you now fill out a survey.
- 23:36of your your family history in certain
- 23:39diseases and all of that goes into the
- 23:42overall risk assessment yeah i want to
- 23:49guess who's paying for all those fancy
- 23:51machines spent thirteen years in big
- 23:53pharma that's your clue absolutely dude
- 23:58I roll my eyes so hard every time
- 24:01I'm watching regular TV because every five
- 24:04minutes when they break commercial,
- 24:06one commercial at every commercial break
- 24:08is one from,
- 24:10ask your doctor if metformin is right for
- 24:12you.
- 24:12Ask your doctor if whatever is right for
- 24:14you.
- 24:16Ask your doctor if getting off your ass
- 24:18and going to the gym is right for
- 24:19you.
- 24:20That needs to be a commercial.
- 24:22But you're leaving out the part where you
- 24:24may get some swelling between your
- 24:26genitals and anus.
- 24:29Your teeth may all fall out and one
- 24:31of your eyeballs might start bleeding,
- 24:33but your risk of bad cholesterol might go
- 24:37down as well.
- 24:38Every single one of them, it seems like,
- 24:41what is it?
- 24:43Your risk of bleeding may increase.
- 24:47Also, sudden death.
- 24:48Dude,
- 24:49I'm not taking anything that comes with an
- 24:51increased risk of sudden death in an
- 24:55effort to level out something else.
- 24:57No, I'm good.
- 24:59My wife gets so pissed off every time
- 25:01the Jardians commercial comes on and it
- 25:03says there may be swelling between the
- 25:05genitals and anus.
- 25:07She's like,
- 25:07do I really need to know that?
- 25:08I'm not taking it.
- 25:11I don't need to know it right now.
- 25:13If I'm prescribed it,
- 25:14they can tell me when they give me
- 25:16the drug that my anus may explode.
- 25:19Yeah.
- 25:23Oh, yeah.
- 25:24Vicky.
- 25:27The anti-depression drug may give you
- 25:28suicidal thoughts.
- 25:29Yeah, I never understood that one either.
- 25:32I don't get that at all.
- 25:35I about shit a brick when I saw
- 25:36a drug advertisement directed at kids.
- 25:42That would... Any drug can cause death,
- 25:46technically.
- 25:48I get that part, Shanna.
- 25:49What bothers me is that they're trying to
- 25:53sell you something.
- 25:58That is so true.
- 26:01It's a different type of swelling down
- 26:02there.
- 26:02They're trying to actually increase it.
- 26:05Anyway, Shanna,
- 26:07I understand that any drugs can cause
- 26:09death technically.
- 26:09Too much Tylenol could probably take you
- 26:14out.
- 26:15What I don't understand is that
- 26:18they're trying to sell you something
- 26:19that's going to make you feel better in
- 26:21whatever way, whatever,
- 26:23whatever that ends up being.
- 26:24But then one of the side effects is
- 26:26possible death.
- 26:27Like, that's what I don't want to get.
- 26:28Well, you know, you might die,
- 26:31but you know,
- 26:31your cholesterol levels are going to look
- 26:32fantastic.
- 26:34Fantastic.
- 26:35Great.
- 26:35I don't need that.
- 26:37Flying motorcycles may increase your risk
- 26:39of sudden death.
- 26:40Yeah.
- 26:40Yeah.
- 26:41But that at least that's fun.
- 26:43Yeah.
- 26:43I'd be okay with dying like that.
- 26:46Going out like, what's his name?
- 26:50The superhero with the flaming skull.
- 26:53That would be Ghost Rider.
- 26:54Ghost Rider.
- 26:57Ghost Rider, are we cleared?
- 27:01Negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.
- 27:04As a non-American,
- 27:05y'all have no idea how wild it is
- 27:07to us that you got drugs advertised on
- 27:09TV.
- 27:10Oh, we know.
- 27:11Yeah, believe me.
- 27:13As an American,
- 27:14I've been an American for forty nine years
- 27:16now.
- 27:17It is insane to me that they are
- 27:20allowed to advertise for prescription
- 27:23drugs on television.
- 27:25That is that's an insane thing to me.
- 27:28It's crazy.
- 27:33um if it causes diarrhea most do there's
- 27:37a reason it's not supposed to be there
- 27:38and your body is protesting
- 27:47I don't know how the hell we get
- 27:49on these topics, but we always seem to.
- 27:51Because we were talking about your...
- 27:54My risk assessment.
- 27:55Your risk assessment.
- 27:56So in January,
- 27:58before I had the sinus surgery and the
- 28:00heart ablation and all that,
- 28:02my risk assessment was at eighteen
- 28:03percent.
- 28:05And she's predicting it'll be more than
- 28:08greater than ten percent down.
- 28:10Sweet.
- 28:10After the blood tests get back.
- 28:12Blood pressure was one,
- 28:13fifteen over seventy.
- 28:15Resting heart rate was sixty.
- 28:16Blood ox was ninety-eight.
- 28:19I could start a medical show after I
- 28:22rattled all that off.
- 28:24This is your Playsdale Media Medical Hour.
- 28:27I'll be on Chicago Med next week.
- 28:33Scott's going to be on nine, one, one.
- 28:39Shit.
- 28:40I don't know.
- 28:40Just pick one of the nine one ones.
- 28:43Whichever one's closest to you.
- 28:46Vellner needs another ablation.
- 28:48I think I heard that.
- 28:50I did not hear that.
- 28:51I didn't hear that.
- 28:51They do tell you when you get the
- 28:53ablation.
- 28:54There's no way they can tell what's
- 28:56sending the missed signal.
- 28:57So they're just guessing and hitting the
- 28:59most prominent one that does.
- 29:03And most times they're right.
- 29:06it's just occasionally the wrong.
- 29:07And sometimes they have to go back in
- 29:08and try another one.
- 29:12Cause it is a practice.
- 29:14Yeah.
- 29:15It's not a, it's not medical certainty.
- 29:18It's medical practice.
- 29:19Practice.
- 29:20Yeah.
- 29:20Guess we're going to practice.
- 29:22Guess we're going to lab coat.
- 29:23Gotta love it.
- 29:27Oh man.
- 29:29Seema, we never move on from work.
- 29:30I know we've moved on from it,
- 29:32but I hate Microsoft Authenticator so
- 29:34much.
- 29:35They've given me the same passcode for two
- 29:37weeks,
- 29:37and I have to sign it at least
- 29:39ten to twenty times a day.
- 29:40Shoot me.
- 29:41My favorite part, Seema,
- 29:43is that now my password has to be
- 29:48half a novel.
- 29:51And listen,
- 29:51I've been typing since I was like twelve
- 29:53years old,
- 29:54but I am not the most accurate typer
- 29:56in the world.
- 29:57Backspace is my friend.
- 29:59But when you have to type a novel
- 30:00for your password, by the fifth attempt,
- 30:03I am like hunting and pecking to make
- 30:05sure that I spell the whole thing right.
- 30:10Your password must be at least twelve
- 30:12characters,
- 30:12and it must not be any of your
- 30:14previous passwords.
- 30:14It has to include a special character and
- 30:17a number and one capital letter.
- 30:22Yep.
- 30:22Ours has to be,
- 30:23ours has to be twenty some characters long
- 30:26now.
- 30:27Jesus Christ.
- 30:28Mine does not, thankfully.
- 30:30And so like literally mine is a sentence
- 30:33that I have come up with that I
- 30:34have to type that sentence and it has
- 30:36to be changed every forty five days or
- 30:40something like that.
- 30:46like to log into my computer and to
- 30:48get into all of our systems that we
- 30:50use over here it's not every forty five
- 30:53days thankfully but it is like once a
- 30:56quarter basically and I'll get a I'll log
- 30:59in and my computer will be like your
- 31:01password is expiring in fifteen days you
- 31:04might want to change it alright cool I
- 31:07guess I will um
- 31:13So Mark got that from Boys Interrupted.
- 31:16He had it on the background,
- 31:17wasn't really paying attention.
- 31:18Leto confirms that that's what she
- 31:20understood, too,
- 31:21from the wild data that the heart rate
- 31:22monitor at the game showed,
- 31:25that he needs another one.
- 31:28Barry, if I could go passwordless, I mean,
- 31:31my phone is all my face.
- 31:33Everything is my face.
- 31:35Mine, too.
- 31:36I don't know why my work can't get
- 31:38on board with that.
- 31:38We have to be on camera for meetings.
- 31:40Just I'll turn the camera on.
- 31:43Hey guys, it's me again.
- 31:47Steve, I never used Scott one, two, three.
- 31:49Mine was password one, one, one, one.
- 31:56What's your password?
- 31:57It's password one.
- 31:59What is it now?
- 32:00It's password one, two.
- 32:03The old...
- 32:04Our old password for the iPad we no
- 32:07longer use at the gym was two, four,
- 32:09six, eight, ten.
- 32:10Which I thought was...
- 32:13What's amazing is your iPad had a ten
- 32:15button.
- 32:15I've never heard of that one before.
- 32:17Well, it was on there.
- 32:20I guess you can call it two, four,
- 32:21six, eight, one, zero.
- 32:22But... That's what it was.
- 32:25No,
- 32:26I thought it was so clever because that
- 32:27was the only thing we used it for
- 32:28was to turn music on,
- 32:29like to play Spotify through it.
- 32:32And it was...
- 32:33I was like, man,
- 32:34that's really easy to remember.
- 32:36That was super cool.
- 32:38Might as well have a novel for a
- 32:39passcode.
- 32:39I know, Shanna,
- 32:41and I'm trying to quit reading,
- 32:42but nobody is letting me.
- 32:45It's a shame.
- 32:45It's a shame.
- 32:45It's a crying shame.
- 32:51Barry, my company is the state of Ohio,
- 32:54and they are twenty five years behind in
- 32:57technology.
- 33:01The state of Louisiana would like to have
- 33:03a word.
- 33:04Hexy lover, for the umpteenth time,
- 33:08Corey's background is not backwards.
- 33:10You have to have a setting on your
- 33:12computer that has flipped it.
- 33:14A hundred percent.
- 33:16I made sure the first time I ever
- 33:17logged on here and was getting all my
- 33:20shit situated was that everything was on
- 33:22the correct side of where I expected it
- 33:24to be.
- 33:24Because when you first log on,
- 33:26a lot of times it is reversed and
- 33:27I unreversed it so that I didn't,
- 33:30because it was driving me nuts.
- 33:32Looking at it and going,
- 33:32that's not where that is.
- 33:33This is where this is.
- 33:35This is my left hand.
- 33:36That is on the left side.
- 33:37It's amazing how that works.
- 33:39John George,
- 33:40what makes you think we taught CrossFit on
- 33:42this show?
- 33:43Yeah, this isn't really...
- 33:44It's not really what we do.
- 33:48Honestly, I didn't even... I had no...
- 33:50I actually didn't see J.R.
- 33:51and Seth on Coffee Pods and Wads.
- 33:53I do believe that J.R.
- 33:54crushed the programming for Waterpalooza.
- 33:57I have no doubt in my mind about
- 33:58that.
- 33:58That dude knows what he's doing, but...
- 34:00I believe that.
- 34:02Here's my problem, John.
- 34:04I'm a fan of CrossFit.
- 34:05I don't need to know why it's programmed.
- 34:08I just want to watch and see them
- 34:10do shit.
- 34:11Now,
- 34:12I have to talk programming sometimes
- 34:13because Jamie and Carolyn talk about it.
- 34:15Sometimes Corey talks about it because
- 34:17they have to do the event.
- 34:19I don't have to do it if I
- 34:19don't want to.
- 34:21And I just watch.
- 34:22So programming isn't like high on my list
- 34:26of things to watch.
- 34:28It's up there with books and reading.
- 34:32um but you know i get it i
- 34:36i saw some clips from it i think
- 34:38they articulated what the reasoning behind
- 34:41it all was um but i i did
- 34:46not tune in for the whole thing i
- 34:49like peter's stuff i tune into him all
- 34:51the time but i don't tune in for
- 34:53like programming shows very often i catch
- 34:56as many of peter's lives live things as
- 34:58i can um
- 35:02But yeah, it's a hit or miss basis.
- 35:05I mean,
- 35:05I got notifications turned on for him.
- 35:07So if I can catch it, I do.
- 35:09If not, I miss it.
- 35:11And I'm not one to go back and
- 35:12watch live shows, generally speaking.
- 35:18Well,
- 35:18I can tell you it's going to be
- 35:19a fun watch.
- 35:21That's all I need to know.
- 35:22Yeah, I have no problem believing it.
- 35:26I'll look at the programming when I'm like
- 35:27trying to make my picks,
- 35:29like to see who's good at what.
- 35:31And then, you know,
- 35:33but I don't like my, my,
- 35:36my mind can't,
- 35:39can't comprehend half the shit.
- 35:45Scott's not a programming nerd.
- 35:47That's fine.
- 35:48Not a big deal.
- 35:52Sten is saying your shirts read backwards.
- 35:54They look fine to me.
- 35:57Yeah, that says Bunce.
- 35:59And the other one says Emom Company and
- 36:01they are reading left to right on my
- 36:03screen.
- 36:05No idea.
- 36:12I spend a lot of time in a
- 36:13car,
- 36:14so I have a full time once I've
- 36:18burned through all your stuff.
- 36:22Okay.
- 36:23Well,
- 36:24I'm assuming you're in a car now trying
- 36:26to type and drive or to speak in
- 36:28text.
- 36:29Well, he just,
- 36:30I think he needs to get,
- 36:31he's got a whole lot of time once
- 36:32he's burned through all of our stuff.
- 36:34He just going to go ahead and listen
- 36:35to whatever else he can find.
- 36:41Uh, so I,
- 36:43I see it's being brought up here.
- 36:45I have it on my list.
- 36:46We lost two masters athletes, um,
- 36:50this week, uh,
- 36:52linda elston uh lost her battle with
- 36:55cancer earlier in the week um i believe
- 36:58she competed against shanna at the games
- 37:01on several occasions um linda was a
- 37:05nine-time crossfit games athlete who last
- 37:10competed in i believe if i looked correct
- 37:15um
- 37:16great woman great athlete great ambassador
- 37:20for the sport uh and we lost her
- 37:22earlier in the week we talked about it
- 37:23on tuesday night a little bit and then
- 37:26it came out this morning that jason bowers
- 37:29uh passed away within the last twenty four
- 37:31hours or it was monday monday yeah it
- 37:34was monday um
- 37:36Jason was a friend.
- 37:38He will be thoroughly missed if you're on
- 37:40Instagram at all following any of the
- 37:42competitions that he was at,
- 37:43which was most of the ones that he
- 37:45could qualify for.
- 37:47He was in my age group.
- 37:49He was one of the kindest,
- 37:51most genuine people I've ever had the
- 37:53opportunity to meet,
- 37:53and we only actually met a handful of
- 37:56times in person.
- 37:59Sucks, dude.
- 38:01i was not okay yesterday when i heard
- 38:03and i had talked to a couple different
- 38:04people about it and uh praying for him
- 38:07and his his entire family uh shanna yes
- 38:12several times she had to pull out of
- 38:13her tenth games because of cancer that
- 38:16sucks um yeah uh condolences and respect
- 38:27to metcon rush on the tribute
- 38:31Yeah,
- 38:31lots of people doing tributes to both of
- 38:33these athletes, and they both deserve it.
- 38:35Absolutely.
- 38:37So, yeah.
- 38:41Yeah, they both, you can tell,
- 38:43had lots of friends in the space.
- 38:46Yeah, dude.
- 38:47The other lady, obviously, I did not know,
- 38:50but I can speak from experience that Jason
- 38:53was a good dude.
- 38:54um and he is he's somebody i looked
- 38:56for on every online qualifier that i've
- 38:59done because he's your age the age right
- 39:03and he did a lot of them man
- 39:05love competing so he was
- 39:08He was at legends last year.
- 39:10And I remember, um, or dude,
- 39:12and he got, his plane was delayed,
- 39:14like some ridiculous amount of time to
- 39:17where he barely just made it in time
- 39:18for the first event.
- 39:19If I remember right.
- 39:21And, uh, he was super pumped though,
- 39:23still,
- 39:23because it was his first time actually
- 39:24qualifying for it.
- 39:25Um, which was pretty awesome.
- 39:28And then he was at, uh,
- 39:29semifinals with me in Birmingham this
- 39:31year.
- 39:33Uh, uh,
- 39:34and just again super grateful super
- 39:37excited to be there you know and leaving
- 39:40everything he had on the floor which is
- 39:41what he did that's what i love about
- 39:44our community we are off family linda was
- 39:46the kindest competitor i knew and nobody
- 39:49exemplifies that community like the
- 39:50masters and i know that
- 39:53That we talk about them a lot on
- 39:55here.
- 39:55That's why I love hanging out at the
- 39:57Masters competitions.
- 39:59Because it is like a big family.
- 40:02It's like a family reunion every time you
- 40:04go to a major competition.
- 40:06And that's why it pisses me off when
- 40:08those competitions are treated like shit.
- 40:10Yeah.
- 40:15But I do have one more little mini
- 40:17riff to talk about.
- 40:22And that is that
- 40:25CrossFit HQ had an affiliate gathering and
- 40:31they gave a presentation using PowerPoint.
- 40:37I'm sorry, what?
- 40:39You say PowerPoint?
- 40:41Yes.
- 40:43I believe the barbell spin got copies of
- 40:46the PowerPoint.
- 40:48What year are we in?
- 40:51My point exactly.
- 40:53When was the last time that PowerPoint was
- 40:55a relevant presentation tool?
- 40:58Actually that people actually,
- 41:03actually care about,
- 41:07but I'm just throwing out a number,
- 41:09but that's probably because I remember
- 41:11like, Oh,
- 41:12I'm putting together a PowerPoint
- 41:13presentation for my class at college.
- 41:19This is a fitness company.
- 41:23that have some of the most jacked bodies
- 41:27in the space.
- 41:29They are making people healthy.
- 41:32There are thousands of people who have
- 41:34lost significant amount of weight in the
- 41:38hundreds.
- 41:40And you resort to words on a PowerPoint
- 41:45to give your presentation.
- 41:47Did they have the slide slide in over
- 41:50the next one and then kind of expand?
- 41:53I was not privy to being at the
- 41:55affiliate gathering to see the PowerPoint.
- 42:00But the only thing, like, oh my God,
- 42:05if I was there,
- 42:06the only thing that even irks me more
- 42:08is when you go and someone pulls up
- 42:10a PowerPoint and then they read the slide
- 42:12to you.
- 42:20Oh, yes, Barry.
- 42:22He used Clippy from MS Office.
- 42:29Clippy helped him get it done.
- 42:32Good night.
- 42:34It wouldn't surprise me.
- 42:36PowerPoint, dude.
- 42:37Oh, my word.
- 42:38So when I was the training lead for
- 42:41our state and I had a team of
- 42:44trainers, if they used PowerPoint,
- 42:47I gave them a maximum number of words
- 42:49they were even allowed to put on the
- 42:51screen.
- 42:52I wanted pictures.
- 42:53I wanted just like a quote or a
- 42:55statement.
- 42:56And then you talk to the people.
- 42:58Yeah.
- 42:59Right?
- 43:01The reason I hate PowerPoint is because
- 43:03everybody writes a novel on it that nobody
- 43:05can read from the back row anyway.
- 43:07And then you stand up there with your
- 43:09back to the audience and read it.
- 43:12Yeah.
- 43:13It'd be like if I did a show
- 43:13like this.
- 43:19Well,
- 43:19I think you just fixed Hexy Lover's
- 43:21problem.
- 43:25Good night, dude.
- 43:26Like, I just...
- 43:31It reminds me of like every safety
- 43:33training video I ever saw when I worked
- 43:35construction because those were put
- 43:36together by PowerPoint and then put onto a
- 43:38VHS tape,
- 43:40which we then watched in somebody's safety
- 43:43room, right?
- 43:46And there's probably some guy standing
- 43:48there and he's talking like this.
- 43:50And then all of a sudden a slide
- 43:52comes across the screen and
- 43:58Right.
- 43:59I think they used Windows XP.
- 44:01They did.
- 44:01I was going to say ninety-five.
- 44:06Windows ninety-five, baby.
- 44:07First PC I ever had had Windows
- 44:09ninety-five on it,
- 44:10and I thought I was hot shit.
- 44:12You hear me?
- 44:14Oh, no, no.
- 44:14We got Windows ninety-five.
- 44:16This ain't no four-eight-six SX.
- 44:17What are you, out of your mind?
- 44:20They need...
- 44:23They need to take a Toastmasters class.
- 44:30Wow, VHS throwback.
- 44:32Yep.
- 44:33That's what Corey will do for you.
- 44:35He'll take you all the way back.
- 44:37Hey, bro, just saying.
- 44:42Hey, the XP is king,
- 44:44and they're Green Hill wallpaper.
- 44:50Oh,
- 44:51out here playing Minesweeper that people
- 44:53still don't know how to play.
- 44:54It's fine.
- 44:55Barry still plays Ski Free.
- 44:58That was actually a fun game.
- 45:00Ski Free, Minesweeper.
- 45:02And if you were really lucky,
- 45:03you got the pinball name on it where
- 45:09you had to like...
- 45:12Make sure you're actually touching it.
- 45:14Duck Hunt wasn't on Windows XP, Fergie.
- 45:18No.
- 45:18Fergie's got his shit all.
- 45:20Fergie's still looking for the Commodore .
- 45:23Let's be honest.
- 45:24Right.
- 45:25He's just found out how to code to
- 45:28repeat his name down the screen endlessly.
- 45:33I'm going to write this thing down for
- 45:34like three and a half hours on this.
- 45:38Basically a keyboard that I hooked up to
- 45:39my grandma's TV.
- 45:40And then it's going to show a countdown.
- 45:43It's going to go around a server.
- 45:44It's going to change color every time it
- 45:46goes around and it's going to count down
- 45:47and go boom.
- 45:49Barry says three D pinball space cadet.
- 45:52Yes.
- 45:53Yes.
- 45:54He Barry knows.
- 45:55Yeah.
- 45:58Fergie had to load his punch cards to
- 46:00start a program.
- 46:07That is good.
- 46:11Here you go.
- 46:11What do you mean?
- 46:12You don't just randomly click squares on
- 46:14my speaker.
- 46:15I did my wife.
- 46:19Oh my God, dude.
- 46:21Every night she sits there with her iPad
- 46:23and she plays solitaire.
- 46:25Now, she doesn't play the game.
- 46:27She has like a little, one of those,
- 46:29the pens that have the soft end on
- 46:31them.
- 46:31Yeah, a stylus.
- 46:34Stylus, yeah.
- 46:36She is essentially just playing
- 46:37whack-a-mole.
- 46:38Yeah, absolutely.
- 46:39Because she's just going column to column,
- 46:42hitting the cards,
- 46:43because it'll sort them for you if you
- 46:45just hit them all.
- 46:46Yeah.
- 46:47Yeah.
- 46:48i'm like you're not even playing solitary
- 46:50you're playing whack-a-mole shut up just
- 46:53let me do my thing oh it's fine
- 46:59it's absolutely fine uh i have some three
- 47:04and a half floppies with pictures on them
- 47:06each one holds eight feet let me ask
- 47:10you this one if you got a floppy
- 47:12disk
- 47:14What do you hook it up to?
- 47:16Because there's not a computer in
- 47:18existence right now outside of maybe
- 47:20somewhere in rural Idaho that could
- 47:22actually still has a floppy disk
- 47:24attachment on it.
- 47:25Unless you've got like some sort of shit
- 47:27you've been just keeping,
- 47:28keeping maintained for the past thirty
- 47:30years.
- 47:32i was gonna i was gonna say i
- 47:33used to play a game called like super
- 47:35bowl sunday where it was on like commodore
- 47:39you would call a play and then you
- 47:41didn't even run the people like you just
- 47:43called the play and then it would go
- 47:45but it took like fifteen discs to load
- 47:49oh yeah at the time you got it
- 47:51loaded up you're like i'm exhausted yeah
- 47:54i'm not even if i can play now
- 47:56Well,
- 47:56because there's nothing you can do in the
- 47:58meantime.
- 47:58You load it, and you're like,
- 48:00I guess I'm going to go make a
- 48:01sandwich because this is going to be a
- 48:02while.
- 48:03Come back later.
- 48:04All right, I guess that one's loaded.
- 48:06Now load disc three.
- 48:07Okay, I guess I'm loading disc three.
- 48:10No, I'm one hundred percent.
- 48:11I feel that all night.
- 48:15Fergie learned to play Wii Tennis from the
- 48:16recliner.
- 48:17Drove his daughters crazy.
- 48:19Bro.
- 48:22Whack on whack-a-mole.
- 48:23Ooh.
- 48:25I like that.
- 48:29floppy disk was the name of my punk
- 48:30band ladies and gentlemen we are floppy
- 48:34disk
- 48:37Are we?
- 48:39Are we?
- 48:41Well,
- 48:43I think the S is in the wrong
- 48:45place.
- 48:46Probably.
- 48:48Probably so.
- 48:49Probably so.
- 48:50If you're a punk band,
- 48:52there's probably a better chance you're
- 48:53floppy dicks than you are floppy disc.
- 48:57And I said that fast for a reason.
- 48:59Yes.
- 49:00Got it.
- 49:00Got it.
- 49:01No, you still burn CDs.
- 49:04Standy.
- 49:07where do you play them my car still
- 49:10has a cd player my jeep has a
- 49:11cd player i have the one cd that
- 49:13i own in it it's been in it
- 49:17since i bought it since i bought the
- 49:18jeep because up until not that long ago
- 49:23i still had my old uh my cd
- 49:26case with like all my mixed cds in
- 49:27it and whatnot but i'm pretty sure my
- 49:30wife threw it away because i can't find
- 49:31it anymore
- 49:36Eight pictures on a floppy disk and having
- 49:37to record the same song nine times on
- 49:39a cassette in order to listen to it
- 49:41on repeat near Walkman.
- 49:44Bet.
- 49:47It's not my, actually, Steve,
- 49:49it's not my mix CD,
- 49:51but it is one of my friends,
- 49:52one of my DJ friends' mix CD from
- 49:54like probably two thousand and thirteen.
- 50:01Well, two thousand thirteen,
- 50:03somewhere along those lines.
- 50:06What was lost with losing the Walkman and
- 50:09cassettes was the mixtape.
- 50:10Yeah, absolutely.
- 50:11The mixtape.
- 50:12Mixed CD,
- 50:13like you just put the songs together,
- 50:15burn, right?
- 50:16Yeah.
- 50:16Mixtape took thought, took timing.
- 50:19Time and effort.
- 50:21Getting that transition between the songs,
- 50:24maybe put that pencil in,
- 50:25twist it a little bit to get a
- 50:27space between the songs, right?
- 50:30and um depending on what year you were
- 50:32actually making the mix cd not getting the
- 50:35dj's voice in it because you had to
- 50:36record it off the radio to begin with
- 50:40shut up dude you're talking over the best
- 50:42part song yeah
- 50:49My truck has a cassette player.
- 50:51Jesus Christ.
- 50:53Okay,
- 50:53so go ahead and get that because as
- 50:56soon as you do that.
- 50:57I had a Discman when I would go
- 50:58to the gym and it looked like I
- 50:59was testing for radiation.
- 51:04that is fantastic um let me go back
- 51:07up because this is actually from viking
- 51:09here we go where is it at uh
- 51:12vicky said you know you mean you want
- 51:12to take a battery-powered boom box in the
- 51:14car and put it in the passenger seat
- 51:16so fun fact there vicky miss miss producer
- 51:20lady doc there is that my first ever
- 51:23vehicle i ever owned was a nineteen ninety
- 51:25two nissan hard body pickup truck
- 51:28Single cab, five speed.
- 51:29When I tell you it had no options,
- 51:31like roll down windows,
- 51:33it's a five speed and didn't have a
- 51:35tack on it.
- 51:36So you just kind of shifted whenever you
- 51:37felt the need.
- 51:38And no radio.
- 51:39There's a spot where the radio went,
- 51:41right?
- 51:42Well,
- 51:42I didn't have a radio when I first
- 51:43got it.
- 51:43I didn't have money.
- 51:44I was a kid.
- 51:45But I did have a boom box in
- 51:47my room.
- 51:48So I took the cover off of the
- 51:51back of the speakers,
- 51:53set those onto the floor behind the seats.
- 51:56That's the only place they would fit.
- 51:57And I took the actual center part of
- 52:00my boom box and set it right there
- 52:02next to me on the bench seat.
- 52:04And that was my radio for the longest
- 52:07time.
- 52:07And I just bought a lot of D
- 52:09batteries because there was nowhere to
- 52:12hook.
- 52:13Like you couldn't,
- 52:14You know what I'm saying?
- 52:15Like there was no, uh,
- 52:17like power converter you could buy back
- 52:19then to like be able to plug it
- 52:20into anything.
- 52:21So I just ran off of batteries.
- 52:23And if I'm having to run off right
- 52:24now,
- 52:25run out of batteries on the way to
- 52:26school one morning.
- 52:27Well, I guess that's what I was,
- 52:29I was done with a bunch of bums.
- 52:33There it is.
- 52:34That's what we call ourselves now in our
- 52:36group chat.
- 52:37Makes sense.
- 52:38Bunch of bums.
- 52:40Um,
- 52:42I used to go for runs with a
- 52:43Discman in my fanny pack.
- 52:45There's just a whole lot to unpack there,
- 52:47Meredith.
- 52:50A whole lot.
- 52:52If you went for a run with a
- 52:54Discman, God bless you,
- 52:56because even with anti-skip on,
- 52:58you wouldn't have any problems.
- 53:01Yeah.
- 53:01You were getting the dance remix for sure.
- 53:04Whether if you wanted it or not.
- 53:05Yeah.
- 53:07Yeah, see, like, Lito knows.
- 53:10Boom.
- 53:11I never claimed to be cool.
- 53:13I never claimed to be a role model.
- 53:17Same, Mark.
- 53:18I couldn't mow grass without my Discman
- 53:19skipping.
- 53:22I know.
- 53:24Like,
- 53:24I had to tape down my Discman in
- 53:26the car just so it wouldn't skip.
- 53:28Oh, yeah.
- 53:29Absolutely.
- 53:30Look, Mark said it must be nice.
- 53:32I had a .
- 53:32Mark, I had a great uncle.
- 53:36had a who had an old beetle i
- 53:38don't know what year it was i just
- 53:39remember that he had it forever all my
- 53:44they all work construction they all work
- 53:45you know chemical plants and whatnot and
- 53:47to prevent anybody from riding with him he
- 53:49took the passenger seat out of it and
- 53:51just drove to work by himself to prevent
- 53:53anybody from even asking to ride with him
- 53:55he was like nah i'm not even dealing
- 53:57with that i'm just gonna take the seat
- 53:58out of this bad boy if anybody wants
- 54:00to ride and be like i mean you
- 54:01can ride dog but
- 54:03Ain't nowhere for you to sit,
- 54:04so you're just going to have to sit
- 54:05on the floor and call it good.
- 54:08The best thing about those old Beetles,
- 54:10and my mom had like three of them,
- 54:11she swore they were the greatest car ever
- 54:13made,
- 54:14but the best part about them is when
- 54:15they broke down,
- 54:16they were easy to push off the road.
- 54:18Oh, yeah, absolutely.
- 54:20That was a solo job.
- 54:23Light, rolls real easy,
- 54:25all the way to the back anyway,
- 54:26so you got to get it going and
- 54:28it'd go right on off.
- 54:30Yeah.
- 54:32All right, man.
- 54:34I got to get back to work.
- 54:36Yeah, I got to go eat.
- 54:38Fun show today.
- 54:39Hope everybody had a good time.
- 54:42So go upstairs.
- 54:45Going to listen to some Casey Kasem.
- 54:47Dude.
- 54:50Not Casey Kasem.
- 54:52Oh, Rick Dees.
- 54:54No, Rick Dees is back on the radio.
- 54:58No.
- 55:01So I listen to my favorite morning show
- 55:03every morning.
- 55:04It's on iHeartRadio, right?
- 55:06And you listen to iHeartRadio,
- 55:07you'll get local commercials and you'll
- 55:09get iHeartRadio commercials.
- 55:11And apparently Rick Dees is on
- 55:13iHeartRadio.
- 55:18He's seventy six.
- 55:19Just looked it up.
- 55:22Does that make sense?
- 55:23Is he trying to take over the mantle
- 55:25of the world's oldest teenager from Dick
- 55:26Clark?
- 55:31uh yes rig these is back on the
- 55:34radio i don't know i think we talked
- 55:35yesterday about like sometimes something's
- 55:37so good you you don't want to bring
- 55:39it back like the terry tate commercial
- 55:42that's what we talked about yesterday yes
- 55:43it gets so good any kind of remix
- 55:45of that would taint it i want solid
- 55:49gold rick d's yes
- 55:52I don't want today's Rick D's.
- 55:54No, no.
- 55:57So his voice still sounds the same,
- 55:58but it also sounds like he's as old
- 56:01as you see as he actually is.
- 56:02Does that make sense?
- 56:03Like it's still that deep kind of
- 56:06whatever.
- 56:07But it also sounds like he's seventy six
- 56:08years old because he is seventy six years
- 56:10old.
- 56:11I just I heard the other day and
- 56:13I was like, oh, shit, I mean,
- 56:14I tell you, I forgot.
- 56:15And you just said radio stuff.
- 56:17So I need to do that.
- 56:22Adam Schefter just reported Sam Darnold
- 56:24will miss next week for sure.
- 56:28Oh,
- 56:29while we're talking about sports right
- 56:30quick,
- 56:31did you see that the SEC meeting that's
- 56:35supposed to take place today is no longer
- 56:36going to be discussing whether or not to
- 56:37kick LSU out of the SEC?
- 56:42Because they want a shot at the national
- 56:43championship.
- 56:45They went ahead and just was like,
- 56:47you know what?
- 56:47We're heading in this one direction,
- 56:48but we should probably turn around.
- 56:50It just went a hundred eighty degrees in
- 56:52the other way.
- 56:54Is Mark Phillips talking about my buddy?
- 56:57Yes.
- 56:58Came back as Chucky.
- 56:59He ain't wrong.
- 57:07If you watch old episodes of Dance Party
- 57:09USA,
- 57:10you'll be amazed our generation
- 57:12reproduced.
- 57:20uh that's fantastic perky's got a point
- 57:24and uh i saw it someone said they
- 57:27had drake may last night in the fantasy
- 57:29leg um i think sam donald only playing
- 57:31five plays got more points because drake
- 57:33may got all the negative points with with
- 57:35the interceptions
- 57:38I see.
- 57:40Yeah, that's probably not accurate.
- 57:43That is unfortunate.
- 57:44That's my twenty five percent that I'm
- 57:46allowed to be off, give or take.
- 57:49That is unfortunate, as it turns out.
- 57:51But three interceptions in one game.
- 57:55Sorry about the Patriots.
- 57:57I it makes me so sad that they
- 57:59lost last night.
- 58:01It doesn't make me sad at all.
- 58:02That's what I'm, again, sarcasm.
- 58:06Sarcasm.
- 58:07It's the eleventh general physical skill
- 58:08at our gym.
- 58:09I don't know if you know that or
- 58:10not.
- 58:10That's what we claim it to be anyway.
- 58:13There's a ten general physical skills that
- 58:16CrossFit puts out, but the eleventh one,
- 58:18honestly, is sarcasm.
- 58:20This is Jeremy's way of preparing for our
- 58:22Ye Sports show every Tuesday night at six
- 58:24p.m.
- 58:24Eastern time.
- 58:26Yay, sports.
- 58:27I don't know if you noticed that, Jeremy,
- 58:29but today's Thursday.
- 58:30You're a little ahead of the game there,
- 58:31brother.
- 58:33Dude, you got to prepare all week.
- 58:34It's a weekly show.
- 58:36You don't just talk about stuff that
- 58:37happened that day.
- 58:39Maybe you don't.
- 58:45Dude, I just live sports,
- 58:47so it's not – I don't prepare.
- 58:49I just live.
- 58:50Look,
- 58:51I am actually planning on – I got
- 58:53to see what time they actually play,
- 58:54but I might actually try to watch the
- 58:56Saints this weekend.
- 59:01I can't even comprehend that.
- 59:04I do not miss Bears games.
- 59:06I just don't.
- 59:07There's nothing in this world that would
- 59:10stop me from...
- 59:13If my wife got hurt and we had
- 59:14to go to the hospital,
- 59:15it would be on my phone on the
- 59:17way to the ER.
- 59:20There's just too many ways to watch now.
- 59:24I get that to a degree,
- 59:25and we're like that about LSU games,
- 59:27but it's been so long, dude.
- 59:29Like, I got to get back into it.
- 59:32I love them.
- 59:33I hope they win.
- 59:33I really do, every single week.
- 59:35Same thing with Manchester United.
- 59:37There was a point in my life where
- 59:38I did not miss a single game, but,
- 59:40like,
- 59:40I just got other shit priorities going on,
- 59:43especially on Sundays, dude.
- 59:44Like,
- 59:44my Sundays are busy nine times out of
- 59:46ten.
- 59:51Church in the morning, football all day.
- 59:53church in the morning meal prep uh might
- 59:57may or may not have to cut the
- 59:58grass probably gonna go work out like i

- 1:00:08and you're meal prepping actually my my
- 1:00:11kitchen is actually in my living room
- 1:00:12where the tv is because it's literally
- 1:00:16look i could be cooking
- 1:00:19And if I turn this way,
- 1:00:21there's a TV.
- 1:00:23Sixty-five inches worth.
- 1:00:24All right.
- 1:00:28But I'm sick.
- 1:00:29I have two TVs in my living room,
- 1:00:31so I can watch two sports at the
- 1:00:32same time.
- 1:00:33It is a different thing.
- 1:00:34But with that,
- 1:00:36I'm going to head out of here.
