- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that uh, Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- 0:05Speaker 2: The rex was not chasing the jeep.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Murray, Murray, you there.
- 0:09Speaker 2: You love sandwiches.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Huh, Let's go to uh eighty.
- 0:13Speaker 3: It was bo.
- 0:16Speaker 4: Wow that Prime Time baby. I had a crush on
- 0:18Speaker 4: Betty Rubble.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 1: to commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman was black.
- 0:25Speaker 1: He caught them the game last night.
- 0:27Speaker 4: Although they won the game.
- 0:29Speaker 2: You're listening to to Gods and Company, It's.
- 0:32Speaker 4: And Company today.
- 0:33Speaker 5: It's in the end of an era here we had
- 0:35Speaker 5: to get rid of stun Im kidding. It's just one
- 0:37Speaker 5: day without Steer. He's traveling back from Chicago. Is the tailor,
- 0:40Speaker 5: and Mike he are here, And if we're honest, we
- 0:43Speaker 5: don't really need Tote right now because the star of
- 0:45Speaker 5: the show for probably as long as this Nick's hangover happens,
- 0:50Speaker 5: is going to be Taylor. Uh so, what's up, Mikey.
- 0:54Speaker 6: I'm just curious at this point do we call it
- 0:55Speaker 6: without stew Gotts that.
- 0:59Speaker 7: I don't I don't know how to handle this stuff,
- 1:01Speaker 7: So I'm just asking without.
- 1:03Speaker 5: Let's just go and company right now. But Taylor's still
- 1:07Speaker 5: in New York when you head back real quick tomorrow.
- 1:11Speaker 3: So actually, is he funny enough. I'm Carolina grad, Carolina alum.
- 1:18Speaker 3: I love Carolina. They're going to the College World Series
- 1:21Speaker 3: on Saturday in Omaha. And I had a very big
- 1:25Speaker 3: Carolina booster reach out and say, hey, if you want
- 1:27Speaker 3: to get on this chartered flight from New York City
- 1:30Speaker 3: to Omaha, let me know flight taking care of, hotel,
- 1:33Speaker 3: taking care of I've never been to the College World Series.
- 1:36Speaker 3: The College World Series is a bucket list type thing
- 1:37Speaker 3: for me. And I messaged him back. I said, I'm
- 1:41Speaker 3: sports overloaded right now. I can't even fathom that concept.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Hold the puk hold I'm upset with you now.
- 1:49Speaker 5: So Carolina is in the Championship Series. Now, when did
- 1:51Speaker 5: this offer come? It came after the parade or before
- 1:55Speaker 5: the parade.
- 1:56Speaker 3: It came when Carolina beat West Virginia to go to
- 1:59Speaker 3: the championships. So yeah, a couple of days ago.
- 2:03Speaker 5: Okay, so you were still in I've got to see
- 2:05Speaker 5: this thing through with the parade. I can't go see
- 2:08Speaker 5: this other team that I really love win a championship
- 2:10Speaker 5: as well.
- 2:11Speaker 3: It was more of the fact of just like the past,
- 2:15Speaker 3: the past two weeks with the Knicks in the NBA Finals.
- 2:18Speaker 3: I don't even want to say the Knicks in the
- 2:19Speaker 3: playoffs because after the Game three against Atlanta, we made
- 2:24Speaker 3: quick work with Philadelphia. Never sweated Philadelphia, never sweated Joel Embiid,
- 2:28Speaker 3: never sweated James Harden in the Cleveland Cavaliers. But man,
- 2:32Speaker 3: even though the series win five games against the Spurs,
- 2:36Speaker 3: it has felt like I have been in a twelve
- 2:38Speaker 3: round heavyweight fight for my life the past couple of weeks,
- 2:43Speaker 3: and I'm just thinking, like I just need to get
- 2:45Speaker 3: back on this flight. I need to get back in
- 2:47Speaker 3: my own bed. I'm tired of being on the road.
- 2:49Speaker 3: I'm an NBA champion. There's nothing left for me to accomplish.
- 2:55Speaker 5: In Omaha, I would say it's kind of it would
- 2:58Speaker 5: feel like a celebratory a lot more relaxing time, and
- 3:01Speaker 5: as a bonus, if you got to see your team
- 3:04Speaker 5: win a world series, that would have been pretty cool.
- 3:06Speaker 5: I don't know I would have taken it because sort
- 3:08Speaker 5: of it's the exact opposite of the New York experience.
- 3:11Speaker 5: It's the quaint you know o Maha, and you know
- 3:14Speaker 5: it's crowded, but it feels like you got a lot
- 3:16Speaker 5: of space out there. And you know, if they win, great,
- 3:19Speaker 5: If they don't, whatever, at least you're you're still, you know,
- 3:21Speaker 5: working off the high of the Knicks parade.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Taylor.
- 3:24Speaker 7: I'm I'm take some advice from somebody who has has
- 3:28Speaker 7: been in your position.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:31Speaker 7: I had a bucket list of seeing all fifty states
- 3:34Speaker 7: by the time I was thirty. Unfortunately I got married
- 3:38Speaker 7: around then and what ended up happening was I saw
- 3:42Speaker 7: like forty seven and then it took me almost a
- 3:46Speaker 7: decade to see the last three. If you get a
- 3:49Speaker 7: chance to do a bucket list thing while you have
- 3:52Speaker 7: the opportunity, cross that sum bitch off your list, man,
- 3:56Speaker 7: because it just gets harder and harder to do it later.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Mikey, let me give you some advice. I you know
- 4:04Speaker 3: I love you. You know you know I love you, you
- 4:07Speaker 3: know I respect you. You're a Fordham You're a Fordham grad.
- 4:11Speaker 3: If Fordam makes it to the tournament, You're gonna do
- 4:14Speaker 3: whatever it takes to see Fordham in the tournament. This
- 4:16Speaker 3: is what I was explaining to Stu Gotts when North
- 4:18Speaker 3: Carolina was playing Northwestern in the Championship. I was trying
- 4:21Speaker 3: to explain to Stu Gotts and saying, hey, I'm rooting
- 4:24Speaker 3: for Rachel in Northwestern. He's like, no, you're not. You're
- 4:26Speaker 3: rooting for Carolina. Carolina, we are going to be playing
- 4:30Speaker 3: in national championships. Put it on the calendar almost every year,
- 4:36Speaker 3: or any sport. You're saying baseball, basketball, football is the
- 4:41Speaker 3: one problem with Bill Belichick. I will admit that, but
- 4:46Speaker 3: we dominate other sports. We are going to be at
- 4:49Speaker 3: the pinnacle of sports. If I don't go see Carolina
- 4:52Speaker 3: and Omaha this year, guess what, I'll probably get to
- 4:55Speaker 3: see Carolina and Omaha. In two years, I'll get to
- 4:57Speaker 3: see Carolina and Omaha in five years. There are going
- 5:00Speaker 3: to be times for me to see Carolina.
- 5:02Speaker 6: Let's let's just be clear. Those three states that I
- 5:07Speaker 6: didn't see were always their tailor. The problem isn't that
- 5:10Speaker 6: I didn't have an opportunity to see those states because
- 5:13Speaker 6: of the states. The problem was I didn't have the
- 5:17Speaker 6: opportunity to leave. I'm not telling you because Carolina won't
- 5:21Speaker 6: be back. I'm telling you because when you get a chance,
- 5:25Speaker 6: you cross it off.
- 5:26Speaker 5: This is I mean, mister party starter over here, I'm
- 5:29Speaker 5: very I'm very intrigued by this.
- 5:31Speaker 4: What are the three states? Let's let's get out.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Oh no, no, I saw them, I've seen them.
- 5:35Speaker 4: What were the last three?
- 5:36Speaker 7: The last three were New Mexico, Arizona, and.
- 5:41Speaker 4: What was the other one that somewhere in that cornerine it.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Was, Yeah, it was that whole little region.
- 5:47Speaker 5: So can we explain a little bit how bucket lists work,
- 5:51Speaker 5: because it means before you die, a bucket list by thirty.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Is a whole different list.
- 5:56Speaker 2: That's just sure. Yeah it was. It was a goal,
- 5:59Speaker 2: but all one set.
- 6:00Speaker 6: All I'm saying is when you get an opportunity to
- 6:02Speaker 6: cross something off, you take it, especially if.
- 6:05Speaker 2: It's a chartered plane and hotel already taken care of.
- 6:09Speaker 4: Stuwgotts.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Here the biggest age in world soccer is here, and
- 6:12Speaker 1: every goal changes everything. And now FanDuel's given you a
- 6:15Speaker 1: reason the roof for every single one introducing every goal

- 6:21Speaker 1: every goal scored in that match. That's right, More goals
- 6:25Speaker 1: means more bonus bets. At All you have to do
- 6:28Speaker 1: is turn on your token from the opening whistle to

- 7:31Speaker 3: I'm glad you guys mentioned the bucket list because for me,
- 7:34Speaker 3: I was thinking about this yesterday at the parade. Parade
- 7:38Speaker 3: for me a once in a lifetime event, because I
- 7:41Speaker 3: only really want to do it once.
- 7:42Speaker 4: In my lifetime. Ago It's so true.
- 7:44Speaker 3: If the Knicks go back to back next year, you
- 7:47Speaker 3: know what, I'll maybe go out in like Brooklyn, or
- 7:50Speaker 3: maybe I'll go out in the Upper east Side. I
- 7:54Speaker 3: don't need to be in in the the Canyon of
- 7:57Speaker 3: Heroes anymore.
- 7:58Speaker 5: All right, Well take us through it then, because I've
- 8:00Speaker 5: heard some nightmares. I mentioned yesterday on the show that
- 8:04Speaker 5: there was a photo of New Yorkers penned up waiting
- 8:08Speaker 5: to exit the subway, and it says they were stuck
- 8:10Speaker 5: there for at least half an hour, which is a nightmare.
- 8:13Speaker 5: So how did you plan to get through where you're
- 8:16Speaker 5: nervous the night before?
- 8:17Speaker 4: How did you get through? And where were you in
- 8:20Speaker 4: relation to the big names.
- 8:22Speaker 3: So I got to the city probably at like five
- 8:26Speaker 3: twenty ish am. I didn't have any problem with a
- 8:30Speaker 3: lot of people. But from what I've seen, it kind
- 8:32Speaker 3: of depended on what street you tried to enter into
- 8:36Speaker 3: this into the parade route. Logistically, yeah, logistically it's a disaster.
- 8:42Speaker 3: I it's time to retire to the Canyon of Heroes.
- 8:45Speaker 3: You can't have a parade be under a mile long
- 8:48Speaker 3: trying to fit. I think the reported number was two
- 8:50Speaker 3: million people in that one million in that one mile
- 8:55Speaker 3: stretch like Fifth Avenue, Central Park. We we have to
- 8:59Speaker 3: have some other alternatives because It didn't even seem like
- 9:03Speaker 3: it mattered what time you got there in terms of
- 9:06Speaker 3: like who was able to have success getting into the parade.
- 9:10Speaker 3: And I am not somebody. This is gonna come as
- 9:12Speaker 3: a surprise to you. Guys. Maybe I'm somebody who doesn't
- 9:15Speaker 3: like crowds.
- 9:17Speaker 4: What but you're so social.
- 9:21Speaker 3: I could not like crowds any less. The concept of
- 9:24Speaker 3: being somewhere and being stranded and being like, hey, you
- 9:27Speaker 3: cannot move from this spot. If you leave from this area,
- 9:30Speaker 3: you will not be able to get back in, and
- 9:33Speaker 3: you can't go anywhere to like use a bathroom. To me,
- 9:37Speaker 3: that sounds like my worst nightmare. That's why checked it off,
- 9:42Speaker 3: checked it off the bucket list. I saw the Knicks
- 9:44Speaker 3: win a championship?
- 9:45Speaker 5: Is he?
- 9:46Speaker 3: To me? The whole thing still feels like I'm gonna
- 9:49Speaker 3: wake up tomorrow and this was all gonna be a dream.
- 9:52Speaker 3: And when I wake up the exact point I wake up,
- 9:56Speaker 3: it's gonna be the night of the draft lottery. I'm
- 9:57Speaker 3: gonna look at the look at the TV, and the
- 10:00Speaker 3: Knicks are gonna have the third best odds in the
- 10:01Speaker 3: Draft lottery and we're gonna somehow wind up with the
- 10:03Speaker 3: fifth pick.
- 10:04Speaker 5: The only reason I didn't feel that exact same way
- 10:06Speaker 5: in two thousand and six is because I was literally
- 10:09Speaker 5: there through all of it, and you know, just working
- 10:11Speaker 5: and trying to keep an arms distance and not be all.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Caught up in it.
- 10:15Speaker 5: But as I was away from work, the more the
- 10:18Speaker 5: closer the heat got to a finals, I was like,
- 10:21Speaker 5: this is insane. I used to watch these finals as
- 10:24Speaker 5: a kid and I got nervous, So imagine how nervous
- 10:27Speaker 5: these guys are, and then watching them do it, watching
- 10:29Speaker 5: them get more comfortable in it, and then seeing it happen,
- 10:31Speaker 5: I was just like, it does feel like something you've
- 10:35Speaker 5: never experienced before, so it feels kind of fake.
- 10:38Speaker 3: And I have never seen New York more unified in
- 10:43Speaker 3: my lifetime from the memories that I have, at the
- 10:46Speaker 3: very least in a way that like only tragedy normally
- 10:50Speaker 3: can do. Like I saw a woman. I saw a
- 10:53Speaker 3: woman I just did the stud baby. I saw a
- 10:57Speaker 3: woman get proposed to on top of like a I
- 11:01Speaker 3: think the I think the vehicle was basically moving. I
- 11:05Speaker 3: saw a woman get proposed to. I saw a man
- 11:08Speaker 3: o d on top of a platform, and New Yorkers
- 11:12Speaker 3: climbed up that platform with Narcan to bring this guy back,
- 11:16Speaker 3: and when they brought him back, he tried to kiss
- 11:18Speaker 3: one of the girls that brought him.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Back to I saw knowledgeable group.
- 11:22Speaker 5: Man with you gotta be within like earshot of somebody
- 11:25Speaker 5: with Narkam if you're gonna, you know, mess around.
- 11:28Speaker 3: In that area, there were people like fighting on type
- 11:32Speaker 3: on top of light posts, and then like when the
- 11:34Speaker 3: fight stopped, it was it was two women. They when
- 11:38Speaker 3: the fight stopped, she just started twirking in front of everybody,
- 11:41Speaker 3: and it was like, oh wait, dude, I guess they
- 11:42Speaker 3: weren't really fighting and she was just more doing this performatively.
- 11:47Speaker 3: To me, it was it was truly unbelievable, and it
- 11:52Speaker 3: was so like surreal to see how many people were
- 11:56Speaker 3: just flooded the streets with like Nick's colors and Knicks paraphernalia.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Where I'm thinking about, like when I was growing up
- 12:03Speaker 3: as a Knick fan, it was the Nate Robinson era,
- 12:06Speaker 3: it was the Stefan Marberry era, the Eddie Curry era.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Like it's always been cool to go to Knicks games
- 12:14Speaker 3: because it's just in midtown Manhattan, but it wasn't necessarily
- 12:18Speaker 3: cool to like root for the Knicks. Because of how
- 12:20Speaker 3: bad they were when I was growing up, Like I
- 12:23Speaker 3: missed the entire nineties era of Knicks basketball. That's why,
- 12:26Speaker 3: to me, my favorite part of the day by far
- 12:30Speaker 3: was Mam Donnie's speech. Like his won his speech writers phenomenal.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Two his delivery of the speech phenomenal, where he's going
- 12:40Speaker 3: through like the eras of Knicks fans and what it
- 12:44Speaker 3: took to get there, and it's like he's dropping Ronaldo
- 12:47Speaker 3: Bachman and like Marty Collins and Jared Jefferies and Tony
- 12:50Speaker 3: Douglas and like you're just listening to some of those
- 12:53Speaker 3: names and it's like, oh my god, Like the Knicks
- 12:56Speaker 3: really are champions. Like we went through that era, the
- 12:59Speaker 3: Knick tape era with with j R. Smith and Carmel
- 13:02Speaker 3: Anthony and it ended with the Knicks winning a title.
- 13:06Speaker 5: Is it a situation where like, if New Yorkers are
- 13:09Speaker 5: arguing against each other, at some point, they're going to
- 13:11Speaker 5: say whoa, whoa?
- 13:12Speaker 4: Remember the Knicks? Remember the og tipping whoa?
- 13:15Speaker 5: And they just like, I'll you know, unify and hug
- 13:18Speaker 5: and go the other go their separate ways.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Is at that level of unify.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Yeah, it's kind of what I would say is if
- 13:26Speaker 3: two people are arguing, you just mentioned a name from
- 13:29Speaker 3: the past, and like the second you say that name
- 13:32Speaker 3: from the past, it's kind of like a spell that
- 13:34Speaker 3: like drops everybody off. Like if I saw two people
- 13:37Speaker 3: fighting yesterday, I would just go up to them and go, hey, guys,
- 13:40Speaker 3: remember when when we drafted Jordan Hill a pick after
- 13:43Speaker 3: Steph Curry. And then they're like then they start hugging
- 13:46Speaker 3: it out and being like, wow.
- 13:48Speaker 4: I have you running in because they're about to swing,
- 13:51Speaker 4: and you're.
- 13:51Speaker 5: Like, oh, Gianna Noby, Oh, Gianna Noby, and they're like,
- 13:55Speaker 5: you know what, You're right, You're right. It is not
- 13:57Speaker 5: worth it. OG would never.
- 14:00Speaker 3: It was. It was truly special. My other my why.
- 14:05Speaker 3: I also like the Mum Donnie speech and this, and
- 14:08Speaker 3: non New Yorkers are probably sick of hearing this, Like
- 14:10Speaker 3: were you close.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Enough to actually hear it?
- 14:12Speaker 3: Hear it?
- 14:13Speaker 4: Like where because you got there not twenty in the morning.
- 14:15Speaker 5: We just glossed over that, like it's nothing like you're
- 14:17Speaker 5: getting ready for a marathon or something.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Five twenty in the mornings insane.
- 14:21Speaker 3: No, So I wasn't. I wasn't close enough to hear
- 14:23Speaker 3: the mum Donnie speech. Uh, but I had air pods
- 14:26Speaker 3: with me and I had my phone, so I was
- 14:28Speaker 3: watching MSG Network and watching the speeches from from that perspective.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Non New Yorkers are sick of hearing about this, but
- 14:38Speaker 3: it's truly like why New York loves this team so much,
- 14:41Speaker 3: Like Mam Donnie says, the Spurs had a ninety nine
- 14:44Speaker 3: point six percent chance to win that game for New York.
- 14:49Speaker 3: All all people in New York feel like they need
- 14:52Speaker 3: is he is that point four percent chance where it's like.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Don't give us percent.
- 14:57Speaker 3: You give us that point four percent chance, and we're
- 15:00Speaker 3: to think that we could we can make it work,
- 15:01Speaker 3: Like Jalen Brunson after the game says, you're allowed to
- 15:04Speaker 3: think about the worst possible scenario, but you gotta go
- 15:07Speaker 3: out there and do something about it. Like I never
- 15:10Speaker 3: thought I would see this team win a championship, but
- 15:13Speaker 3: I also never quit on this franchise. And that's why
- 15:15Speaker 3: it feels like it was only right that the group
- 15:18Speaker 3: of Knicks that did it was a group that like
- 15:21Speaker 3: personified the city, the underdogs, the guys that nobody really
- 15:25Speaker 3: believed in. Like it's sad to say this, but when
- 15:28Speaker 3: I'm when I'm out there for the parade. I'm thinking
- 15:31Speaker 3: Kevin Kevin Durant didn't deserve this parade. We Lebron James
- 15:35Speaker 3: didn't deserve this parade. None of these people that were
- 15:37Speaker 3: like saviors of or perceived saviors of the franchise Kyrie Irving.
- 15:42Speaker 3: You think you think Kyrie Irving deserved two million people
- 15:46Speaker 3: celebrating him in in in midtown Manhattan, say get out
- 15:49Speaker 3: of here, Kyrie Irving.
- 15:51Speaker 5: I'm curious what you thought of Jalen Brunson's speech, because
- 15:55Speaker 5: it felt like he held back and if that wasn't the
- 15:58Speaker 5: time to really go and maybe I missed something, but
- 16:01Speaker 5: it felt like if that wasn't the time to really
- 16:03Speaker 5: name names and go at people, he's just never gonna
- 16:05Speaker 5: do it.
- 16:05Speaker 4: He's too classy.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think. I don't think he's gonna name names,
- 16:09Speaker 3: just just because he doesn't seem like somebody who wants
- 16:12Speaker 3: to give any credence to the people that doubted him.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Like it's kind of become clear that he's used those
- 16:20Speaker 3: comments to fuel him and fuel him on this run.
- 16:23Speaker 3: I saw he was signing autographs in quotes. He was
- 16:27Speaker 3: signing them one a like Jalen Brunson knows very clearly
- 16:31Speaker 3: that people were saying that he's not a one, a,
- 16:34Speaker 3: not a not even a two option on a championship team.
- 16:38Speaker 3: But like him saying or pointing out people in particular,
- 16:43Speaker 3: it's just giving those people more attention that they don't
- 16:45Speaker 3: really deserve. Is I'm glad you mentioned the brunts and
- 16:49Speaker 3: speech my besides the Kenyon heroes. My other critique or complaint.
- 16:55Speaker 3: I wish we did get to hear from from more
- 16:57Speaker 3: players because we heard from Mike Brand, we heard from
- 17:01Speaker 3: Jalen Brunson, and that that was it in terms of
- 17:04Speaker 3: like the team. Like I remember when I went to
- 17:08Speaker 3: the the Eagles parade with Mac when when the Eagles
- 17:11Speaker 3: won the Super Bowl in twenty seventeen, and I feel
- 17:15Speaker 3: like every player from that Eagles team like got up
- 17:19Speaker 3: there or at least had the opportunity to get up
- 17:21Speaker 3: there and give a speech. And it's like that's a
- 17:23Speaker 3: that's a fifty three man roster.
- 17:25Speaker 4: I had, where like Josh Hart, like you had to
- 17:27Speaker 4: hear from him, right.
- 17:28Speaker 3: I would love to hear from Josh Hart. I would
- 17:30Speaker 3: love to hear from ogn Andobi who who never says anything.
- 17:33Speaker 3: And I think that's part of like why you would
- 17:35Speaker 3: want to hear from Ogn and Obi in that in
- 17:37Speaker 3: that sense, like hearing Ogn and Obi say like I'm
- 17:40Speaker 3: excited where his voice is not changing at all, Like
- 17:43Speaker 3: would have been a cool moment of the parade, somebody
- 17:46Speaker 3: like Carl Anthony Towns, Like we we know how much
- 17:50Speaker 3: Carl Anthony Towns was doubted even by hand up even
- 17:53Speaker 3: by people in the own in his own fan base,
- 17:56Speaker 3: but like seeing all that Karl Anthony Towns had to overcome,
- 17:59Speaker 3: like the death of his mother, the death of a
- 18:02Speaker 3: lot of his family members from COVID, Like I don't
- 18:05Speaker 3: know what the thought process there was, Like why we
- 18:08Speaker 3: didn't hear from some of those guys.
- 18:11Speaker 5: Here's what I would love, Like I currently enjoying the
- 18:16Speaker 5: Nicks celebration for the guys on the team, for Mike
- 18:21Speaker 5: Brown and for the coaching staff.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Don't really care to celebrate the owner, don't.
- 18:27Speaker 5: Really care to celebrate the guys on that team that
- 18:30Speaker 5: I hated back in the nineties, all right, because that
- 18:32Speaker 5: was a rivalry, right, And so I'm just like I
- 18:34Speaker 5: don't feel the same way about Jalen Brunson. I have
- 18:37Speaker 5: an immense amount of respect for Jalen Brunson. That completely
- 18:39Speaker 5: overtakes any sort of hatred because he hasn't really been
- 18:42Speaker 5: my rival for all this time. So I just don't
- 18:46Speaker 5: love everybody else being on those parade floats and getting
- 18:49Speaker 5: all this credit and all this stuff because I didn't
- 18:51Speaker 5: see Glenn Rice getting you know, trophies and everything celebrated
- 18:55Speaker 5: when the Heat won.
- 18:57Speaker 3: The float of legends is he? I was trying to
- 18:59Speaker 3: think as I'm seeing this float, at some point on
- 19:03Speaker 3: that float there has to be a cutoff if every
- 19:06Speaker 3: Knicks alum has to be on the float. I kept thinking, like,
- 19:10Speaker 3: what is the cutoff point? Who would have been? And
- 19:13Speaker 3: as I'm watching them yesterday, there was a very clear
- 19:16Speaker 3: answer for the who. The last nick that made it
- 19:18Speaker 3: was Any guesses, give me an era early two thousands,
- 19:25Speaker 3: Early to mid two thousands is when I would guess.
- 19:28Speaker 3: His last year was early to mid two great nickname.
- 19:33Speaker 5: Oh man, I don't know if I'm gonna get this one.
- 19:37Speaker 5: Uh for great nicknames, I don't have a guess.
- 19:41Speaker 3: The Junkyard dog, Oh.
- 19:43Speaker 5: Really, Jerome Williams Wow, Raptors legend and the Knicks Parade.
- 19:47Speaker 3: So Jerome Williams played four games. He started four games,
- 19:51Speaker 3: In his one season with the Knicks, it was the
- 19:53Speaker 3: last year of his career. He averaged four and a
- 19:55Speaker 3: half points per game in fifteen minutes. Like it was
- 19:59Speaker 3: but tweet for me, it was either it was either
- 20:02Speaker 3: Jerome Williams or Steve Novak. But even Novak had like
- 20:06Speaker 3: that that discount double check.
- 20:08Speaker 5: Era with the next Novak made his name. He cut
- 20:11Speaker 5: his teeth with the New York Knicks. I mean a
- 20:13Speaker 5: junkyard dog was just come on, man, he was Detroit,
- 20:16Speaker 5: he was Toronto, and then he was a Nick at
- 20:18Speaker 5: the end.
- 20:18Speaker 4: That's crazy, is he?
- 20:20Speaker 3: When it comes to they called alumni, who do you
- 20:22Speaker 3: think I was? This was also a talking point in
- 20:25Speaker 3: the group that I had because they were interviewing part
- 20:29Speaker 3: of the When I'm listening to MSG network and Alan
- 20:32Speaker 3: Hahn in my AirPods, he's interviewing Carmelo Anthony and Carmelo
- 20:36Speaker 3: Anthony is doing the man this is this is long
- 20:39Speaker 3: overdue for the city, like the city deserves this, the
- 20:42Speaker 3: city needs this, And I was thinking, I kind of
- 20:45Speaker 3: whispered out of the side of my mouth, like, well,
- 20:47Speaker 3: if the city really needed this, you wouldn't have held
- 20:49Speaker 3: us hostage in that trade. We could have kept Wilson Chandler,
- 20:52Speaker 3: we could have kept the Nilo Gallinari, we could have
- 20:54Speaker 3: kept Timothy Mosgov and built a championship team around you.
- 20:57Speaker 3: And then maybe we're celebrating we're having this ticker tape
- 20:59Speaker 3: Pariah in twenty twelve. So there has been some revisionist
- 21:04Speaker 3: history with Carmelo Anthony, but I don't think there's been
- 21:07Speaker 3: any more revisionist history in Knicks franchise history than Stefan
- 21:11Speaker 3: Marberry because that era was a disaster. But he walks
- 21:15Speaker 3: around the garden like he like his shit doesn't stink.
- 21:19Speaker 5: That was the era that made it uncool to like
- 21:21Speaker 5: the Knicks, right, because it's like, wow, look at me,
- 21:23Speaker 5: I'm a proud New Yorker like Stefan Marberry. Oh, but
- 21:26Speaker 5: that means I'm cheering for that basketball. I don't like that.
- 21:29Speaker 5: And so Stefan, I mean like he is just really
- 21:32Speaker 5: leaning into those New York roots because he's not Yeah,
- 21:35Speaker 5: I wouldn't flunked around my time with the Knicks, as
- 21:38Speaker 5: this is what binds me to this group.
- 21:40Speaker 3: If Stefan Marberry was from California, he doesn't get the
- 21:44Speaker 3: universal praise that he does from Knicks fans. Too, where
- 21:48Speaker 3: just the fact that he's from the City, Knicks fans
- 21:51Speaker 3: are willing to overlook how bad his tenure was with
- 21:55Speaker 3: the Knicks that ended with him I think I think
- 21:58Speaker 3: eating vaseline from.
- 22:00Speaker 5: No it was disgusting. And yeah, he's he's so back
- 22:02Speaker 5: in favor that he's okay with saying everybody's okay with
- 22:05Speaker 5: him saying he wants to stab with Mby in the neck.
- 22:07Speaker 5: So yes to find Myrberry's ride or die for life
- 22:10Speaker 5: with the Knicks Now I cannot remember him with any
- 22:12Speaker 5: other team anymore.
- 22:14Speaker 3: My other favorite thing from the parade, I don't know
- 22:16Speaker 3: if you guys saw this at City Hall. Dylan Jones
- 22:20Speaker 3: is on the Knicks. Dylan Jones is a two way player.
- 22:24Speaker 3: He was on the G League team I would assume
- 22:27Speaker 3: a majority of the season for the Westchester Knicks. Everybody
- 22:31Speaker 3: has their banner hanging outside of City Hall, and everybody's
- 22:35Speaker 3: looking at Dylan Jones's banner and they're saying, hey, why
- 22:38Speaker 3: does Dylan Jones's banner say he's number thirty three? Because
- 22:43Speaker 3: thirty three is retired for Patrick Gillen. What did they
- 22:48Speaker 3: just screw that up? So what happened is Dylan Jones'
- 22:52Speaker 3: is G League number. Dylan Jones's G League banner is
- 22:58Speaker 3: our G League number is thirty three. His number when
- 23:01Speaker 3: he travels with the Knicks is one. But when city
- 23:05Speaker 3: Hall got the roster from the next website, the next
- 23:07Speaker 3: website has corrected this since they've removed the number next
- 23:11Speaker 3: to Dylan Jones because they realize the mistake that they made.
- 23:15Speaker 3: They just saw that his number was thirty three for
- 23:17Speaker 3: the G League, so they were like, Okay, let's just princess,
- 23:19Speaker 3: and there's the banner was proudly on display. Somebody in
- 23:24Speaker 3: city Hall has to have the awareness to be like, Hey,
- 23:27Speaker 3: isn't isn't thirty three Patrick Ewing's number. But now that
- 23:31Speaker 3: I'm thinking about that, you could tell me that that
- 23:34Speaker 3: banner was on sale today, and you could, you could
- 23:38Speaker 3: name your price, you could blank check me. I would
- 23:41Speaker 3: buy that Dylan Jones banner. To get that thirty three
- 23:44Speaker 3: banner outside my house, outside my apartment, outside wherever I'm living.
- 23:48Speaker 3: I would want the Dylan Jones thirty three banner more
- 23:50Speaker 3: than I would want a Jalen Brunson banner today.
- 23:52Speaker 4: I've never heard of him.
- 23:53Speaker 5: Just the same way the cops at the parade had
- 23:55Speaker 5: never heard of Tyler Kolik the video What is it
- 24:00Speaker 5: with these fake New York Knicks fans, these cops that
- 24:03Speaker 5: are bullying Jalen Brunson after the after they win the
- 24:06Speaker 5: championship and you got the pr saying it's the UH
- 24:09Speaker 5: Finals MVP for crying out loud, He's he's okay, And
- 24:12Speaker 5: then you got Tyler Kohlak basically getting harassed and him saying,
- 24:15Speaker 5: I'm on the team, dude, I swear like that's kind
- 24:18Speaker 5: of ridiculous.
- 24:19Speaker 3: That was. That was a truly unbelievable moment and it
- 24:24Speaker 3: and it kind of encapsulates New.
- 24:26Speaker 4: York schooling Tyler Kohlak right now.
- 24:28Speaker 7: He has no I'm just wondering why he's doing racial profiling.
- 24:32Speaker 7: He saw one guy with flowing locks and he was like, no, no, no, no, no,
- 24:36Speaker 7: you're not a basketball player.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Go back to your water polo.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Yeah, it was.
- 24:41Speaker 3: It was reverse racism out of its finest. But that
- 24:45Speaker 3: like encapsulates New York City right now, because yes, there
- 24:50Speaker 3: there are a lot of diehard Knicks fans that never
- 24:52Speaker 3: thought this moment would come that that have never thought
- 24:55Speaker 3: they would see a championship under Dolan. And then you
- 24:58Speaker 3: have a lot of Johnny cum lay 's that are
- 25:00Speaker 3: that are trying to catch up to this run. And
- 25:04Speaker 3: most most Knick fans would know Tyler Coleck Tyler Kohlik
- 25:09Speaker 3: for the rest of his life. His first line in
- 25:13Speaker 3: his obituary NBA Cup Champion, He delivered that cup. The
- 25:17Speaker 3: Knicks don't win. People forget that is he. The Knicks
- 25:20Speaker 3: don't win the NBA Cup without Tyler Colet.
- 25:22Speaker 4: People forget. I forgot. You're reminding me right now.
- 25:25Speaker 5: I had no idea he was a member or I'm sorry,
- 25:27Speaker 5: a participating member of that championship team.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Put it on the poll, dude, the Nicks win the
- 25:31Speaker 3: NBA Cup without Tyler colk that's coming back ninety eight percent.
