- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken

- 0:10be a farmer. This is my Chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast.
- 0:15To. Teach distinctions,
- 0:17possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring some
- 0:20joy. Into the.
- 0:21World. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning. I just was watching the weather.
- 0:32Now, every morning I could log into an app to look at the
- 0:35weather, but we have a very local station that does an
- 0:38excellent job nailing the weather in the particular
- 0:42weirdness that we have here. So I've clicked on the TVI turn
- 0:46it on. I don't watch the news because
- 0:48it never has good news. At least this station sometimes
- 0:53has more good news. But I click it on and they're
- 0:56doing a segment on mental health and they're talking about how
- 1:00important mental health is. And they're saying that this
- 1:03mental health crisis that this country is going through, or not
- 1:06just our country, but many countries is, you know, this
- 1:10time of year, we should really take a look at our mental
- 1:13health. And I'm thinking to myself,
- 1:15well, this is the first problem. This is the very first problem.
- 1:18If we're only looking at our mental health once a year, of
- 1:22course we're going to have a problem.
- 1:24I don't care what you do in the world, but you have to take care
- 1:28of your mental health just like you have to take care of your
- 1:31physical health all the time. One thing that this farm has
- 1:36taught me is if anything is neglected, even for a short
- 1:41period of time, things will creep and take over.
- 1:45And they are absolutely harder to get rid of.
- 1:50So if you've watched or heard any of my stuff before, you know
- 1:56that we have these weeds out here.
- 1:57I like to refer to them as the devil weeds, that they look very
- 2:01pretty. The colors on them, they're this
- 2:03dark maroon with this green, and they're just so pretty.
- 2:06But when you go to touch them, they are filled with thorns,
- 2:10little spikes that hurt. And when they pick you, they
- 2:13hurt so bad. They grow straight up out of the
- 2:16ground and they grow like Ivy and they attack to things and as
- 2:20they attach, they attach with their spikes, which is what's
- 2:24even crazier. And they will choke things.
- 2:26So the other day I was noticing how it had taken over because
- 2:31everything's died back now. So I can start the process of
- 2:34wedding and it takes a full like January will be an entire month
- 2:39of cleanup and wedding and moving and doing things and
- 2:43getting everything ready. And I, I went to this particular
- 2:46rose Bush because I I it's off by by itself.
- 2:50I love this Bush. It's it's probably the prettiest
- 2:53picture I took the whole year of a rose came from a rose off this
- 2:57Bush. And I go over and these thorns,
- 3:00this, this devil weed that I love to prefer to it as is
- 3:05choking the bottom of it. It's like wrapped around it and
- 3:08it's starting to go up it. I had checked that probably, I'm
- 3:14going to say maybe it was October, maybe it was October,
- 3:18it could have been November. But I probably being really, you
- 3:21know, scrutinizing myself, it was October and it had already
- 3:26started to assault the plant in such a way that I lost a cane
- 3:31coming up out of it. And it frustrated me
- 3:34immediately. And I got so upset.
- 3:36And then I was like, this is what happens when you don't
- 3:40check things all the time. Now that's loops right back to
- 3:43my conversation about mental health.
- 3:46And I, I feel like this is one of the most important things
- 3:51that we can work on in our success moving into the new year
- 3:55is making it a daily practice to check in on yourself and see how
- 4:00you are. You have to do it sooner than
- 4:03later. You must do it every day.
- 4:05You must recalibrate every few hours.
- 4:08As things are happening in our lives, we have to check in and
- 4:12we must take care of doing that more repeatedly.
- 4:16We have no choice. So checking in once a week and
- 4:20saying, hey, how did I do this week is great if you want to
- 4:23just check the tasks that you accomplished during the week.
- 4:26But I'm talking moment to moment, making sure that you
- 4:30recalibrate throughout your day because this has an impact long
- 4:33term, but the bigger impact it has is it erodes our good
- 4:38feelings about ourselves, which then precludes us from getting
- 4:42the outcomes that we want in in our goals and our intentions.
- 4:46It it just takes it all away. So if you start sooner, you're
- 4:51going to feel different. And I am just as guilty of this
- 4:54as everybody else because I will drag things from one day to
- 4:58another. I am better than I ever was in
- 5:02my life at not doing that. But I can tell you it still
- 5:06brings it over. And my weak point is always my
- 5:09personal relationship. I'm the first one to admit that.
- 5:12That's where it happens in my personal relationship.
- 5:16If things are not good, I will clearly carry them over and and
- 5:20I'm OK to say, say that to everybody because I want you to
- 5:22know it's normal. That's what we do as human
- 5:25beings. But is it good?
- 5:27No. So do sooner, check insurance,
- 5:30find out quicker. I actually even have it on my
- 5:34daily. Like I have a new digital
- 5:36journal that I'm using. I'm trying to get away from all
- 5:38the paper so that it's I can bring things with me as I go.
- 5:42And I got this little cool remarkable tablet and in there I
- 5:45had I found this journal from somebody on Betsy and she has in
- 5:50it and a great little thing at the end of every day.
- 5:54She has this little thing that says little emojis that you
- 5:57circle in like how you felt for the day.
- 5:59And I thought what a cool little thing to do.
- 6:02I love it. So do it check in every day,
- 6:05even if you just put a little draw a little emoji in your
- 6:09paper one do it because it really, really works.
- 6:13All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed, happy day
- 6:16and I will see you tomorrow. Bye.
