"My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear... O Lord, all my longing is before you" (Psalm 38:4, 9). Psalm 38 is one of the Bible's great psalms of lament, where David gives us an accurate picture of how we should view and respond to sin in our lives. Our sin against God has far greater effects than we could even imagine. We get a glimpse of how sin makes us feel, what it does to our relationships, and how it is we can find relief from it.
