Speaker 1: I let him know.
• 0:01
Speaker 2: I said, look, if you don't adhere to the agreement,
• 0:04
Speaker 2: I don't want to do that, but we're going to
• 0:06
Speaker 2: bomb the hell out of you. And I don't think
• 0:09
Speaker 2: that they're going to hear from the agreement. What else
• 0:11
Speaker 2: am I going to do? I am I gonna say, I'm
• 0:12
Speaker 2: going to take you to court. Let me take you
• 0:14
Speaker 2: to court. Just let me sue you.
• 0:16
Speaker 1: No, we're going to bomb the hell out of them
• 0:18
Speaker 1: if they violate the agreement. I don't want them to.
• 0:21
Speaker 1: I want them to honor the agreement.
• 0:23
Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
• 0:27
Speaker 4: Good Thursday morning. Nice have you with us on the
• 0:29
Speaker 4: forty seven Morning Update, and we've got two big stories
• 0:32
Speaker 4: for you. First up, President Trump explaining the Iranian deal.
• 0:36
Speaker 4: This is there's a lot of fighting within the conservative
• 0:38
Speaker 4: community over this deal and what actually happens. So what
• 0:41
Speaker 4: did the President say? I'll have that for you in
• 0:44
Speaker 4: just a moment. Also, a story that's been underreported on
• 0:48
Speaker 4: Gavin Newsom in serious legal trouble right now in California,
• 0:53
Speaker 4: a full investigation going on into him and a plea
• 0:57
Speaker 4: deal with his former chief of staff, apparently as roll.
• 1:01
Speaker 4: But before we get to that, I want to talk
• 1:03
Speaker 4: to you real quick about the work that's being done
• 1:05
Speaker 4: with Compassion International and how you can get involved. Love, generosity,
• 1:11
Speaker 4: and compassion. We say those words all the time, and
• 1:14
Speaker 4: they sound good, they feel good, but here's the truth.
• 1:17
Speaker 4: Those words don't mean anything unless they turn into action,
• 1:22
Speaker 4: and right now, not later, today, not tomorrow. There's a
• 1:26
Speaker 4: child in the world who doesn't know if they'll eat,
• 1:29
Speaker 4: if they'll have a chance to learn, or if there's
• 1:32
Speaker 4: any hope at all. And while we're all busy, life
• 1:36
Speaker 4: keeps moving forward, but that child is waiting. This is
• 1:40
Speaker 4: where you come in. With Compassion International. You have the
• 1:44
Speaker 4: chance to change a child's future, not just with words,
• 1:48
Speaker 4: not with promises, but with real help that provides food,
• 1:52
Speaker 4: education and hope through local churches and people already in
• 1:57
Speaker 4: their community. Put your words into action and join me
• 2:02
Speaker 4: introduce a child to a loving heavenly father today at
• 2:06
Speaker 4: Compassion dot com. That's Compassion dot Com. It's the forty
• 2:11
Speaker 4: seven Morning Update, and it starts right now.
• 2:14
  Speaker 3: Story number one.
• 2:15
Speaker 4: It is pretty clear that there is a real war
• 2:18
Speaker 4: happening right now in the Republican Party. This over the
• 2:22
Speaker 4: Iran Deal. Many conservatives coming out saying that this deal
• 2:26
Speaker 4: is not what they want and talking about why they
• 2:29
Speaker 4: believe there are flaws in the deal. And it's obvious
• 2:32
Speaker 4: that Donald Trump is going to have to do some
• 2:34
Speaker 4: serious convincing when he gets back to Washington, DC from
• 2:37
Speaker 4: the G seven, sitting down with key Republicans in the
• 2:40
Speaker 4: Senate explaining him why this deal is something that they
• 2:44
Speaker 4: should be excited about now the present, speaking at the
• 2:48
Speaker 4: G seven about the deal, laid out his points for
• 2:51
Speaker 4: why he says this deal is in fact a good deal.
• 2:55
  Speaker 1: Take a listen.
• 2:57
Speaker 2: On Sunday, we reached an agreement with Iran that achieves
• 3:01
Speaker 2: everything we set out to accomplish, everything and much more,
• 3:05
Speaker 2: ending the current conflict, reopening the Strait of Hormos, and
• 3:10
Speaker 2: preventing Iran from ever obtaining a nuclear weapon.
• 3:14
Speaker 1: That's what it was all about. That was about ninety
• 3:16
  Speaker 1: nine percent.
• 3:18
Speaker 2: Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon, they can't develop it,
• 3:22
Speaker 2: buy it, they can never have a nuclear weapon. At
• 3:25
Speaker 2: the same time, with this announcement or close to it,
• 3:30
Speaker 2: as people started to think it was going to happen,
• 3:33
Speaker 2: when Iran was making some very positive statements, the stock
• 3:37
Speaker 2: market has surged to record highs picking up thousands of
• 3:42
Speaker 2: points over the last short period of time, thousands of points,
• 3:46
Speaker 2: and oil is dropping like it has never dropped before,
• 3:51
Speaker 2: at levels that went in numbers down seven dollars, down
• 3:58
  Speaker 2: eight dollars.
• 4:00
Speaker 1: Didn't never see anything like that.
• 4:02
Speaker 2: But if we didn't do this deal, we could have
• 4:06
Speaker 2: dropped more bombs for another three weeks, two weeks, four weeks,
• 4:10
Speaker 2: two years. You would never have the harmers straight open,
• 4:15
Speaker 2: you would never have success. Your market would have instead
• 4:19
Speaker 2: of going up at levels that nobody's ever seen before,
• 4:22
Speaker 2: we'd go down at levels that nobody ever saw before,
• 4:26
Speaker 2: maybe except for nineteen twenty nine or whatever. Then, you know,
• 4:29
Speaker 2: all the tough guys, tough guys don't realize that this
• 4:33
  Speaker 2: wasn't a three month deal.
• 4:34
Speaker 1: This was years in the making.
• 4:36
Speaker 2: You know why, because I was the one that killed
• 4:39
Speaker 2: General Solomony, And if I didn't kill General Solomony, we
• 4:43
Speaker 2: probably wouldn't be talking right now about this deal. Because
• 4:47
Speaker 2: he was a mad genius. They never were able to
• 4:52
Speaker 2: replace him. But a lot of people forget that. The
• 4:56
Speaker 2: tough guys, you know, the tough guys that would drive
• 4:58
Speaker 2: the country right down the two The past two days
• 5:02
Speaker 2: have provided a chance to discuss the details of this
• 5:05
Speaker 2: historic agreement with many of our closest friends and allies,
• 5:09
Speaker 2: including the G seven nations and many presidents and prime ministers.
• 5:13
Speaker 2: As you saw, Prime Minister Modi was here. We had
• 5:16
Speaker 2: a long talk. He's a great guy. They are thrilled
• 5:19
Speaker 2: that we made a deal, every one of them. There's
• 5:22
Speaker 2: no one nation that came to us and said, please, sir,
• 5:25
Speaker 2: keep dropping bombs on them, Please keep dropping bonds.
• 5:29
Speaker 1: The stupid people say that, but I'm thrilled to report.
• 5:34
Speaker 2: And by the way, those last two days were brutal,
• 5:38
Speaker 2: two hundred million dollars worth of bombs. And you know
• 5:42
Speaker 2: it is expensive too, by the way, aside from everything else.
• 5:46
Speaker 1: And they knew I was coming for a third night.
• 5:48
Speaker 1: We informed them were coming for a third night.
• 5:50
Speaker 2: They didn't have their navy it's sunk. They didn't have
• 5:53
Speaker 2: their air force, it's gone, not one plane. They didn't
• 5:57
Speaker 2: have anti aircraft equipment, so we got reign. They didn't
• 6:02
Speaker 2: have their leaders, but they have a new group of
• 6:05
Speaker 2: leaders that I think is actually I think they're smarter.
• 6:09
  Speaker 1: I think they're very smart.
• 6:11
  Speaker 2: I think they're far less radicalized, and I think they're.
• 6:15
Speaker 1: I think they're really good. They love their country. You know,
• 6:20
Speaker 1: you talk about regime change, nobody will say that.
• 6:23
Speaker 2: But I guess one set of leaders is all gone,
• 6:28
Speaker 2: the second set of leaders is all gone, their third
• 6:32
Speaker 2: set of leaders a little bit gone, but for the
• 6:34
Speaker 2: most part, and frankly, I think that's regime change.
• 6:38
Speaker 1: I think they're going to behave much differently.
• 6:40
Speaker 2: I think they see a different way of life that
• 6:43
Speaker 2: they were never exposed to.
• 6:46
Speaker 4: Now it's clear there that the President is making his
• 6:49
Speaker 4: case not just to America but also the rest of
• 6:51
Speaker 4: the world of the G seven, saying that this agreement
• 6:54
Speaker 4: is a major foreign policy breakthrough. The president says it
• 6:58
Speaker 4: delivers on the core promise made from the beginning a
• 7:02
Speaker 4: RAN will not have a nuclear weapon. In fact, Trump
• 7:05
Speaker 4: said that point is written clearly into the memorandum and
• 7:08
Speaker 4: that it will be backed by what he described as
• 7:11
Speaker 4: strong inspection and enforcement mechanism. Now, to be clear, there
• 7:15
Speaker 4: are many conservatives that are very worried about this deal.
• 7:19
Speaker 4: Many are criticizing the Vice president for being the man
• 7:21
Speaker 4: in charge of getting this deal together, and the President
• 7:25
Speaker 4: is also pointing to what he says is a victory,
• 7:27
Speaker 4: the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, as another victory.
• 7:31
Speaker 4: There are many that are saying, yeah, but you let
• 7:33
Speaker 4: Iran be in charge of that straight moving forward, and
• 7:36
  Speaker 4: that is concerning.
• 7:38
  Speaker 2: Now.
• 7:38
Speaker 4: That is one of the most important shipping lanes on Earth.
• 7:42
Speaker 4: It carries a huge percentage of the world's energy supply,
• 7:45
Speaker 4: and Trump says getting ships moving freely is incredibly important
• 7:49
Speaker 4: and it will reduce the threat of global energy crisis
• 7:53
Speaker 4: and also help push oil and gas prices lower in
• 7:56
Speaker 4: the short term. Now, that's something American families can directly
• 7:59
Speaker 4: feel at the pump, and the oil markets have reacted
• 8:02
Speaker 4: positively as they are now saying that they believe the
• 8:06
Speaker 4: waterway will remain open. Now, Trump is also emphasizing something else.
• 8:11
Speaker 4: He believes this is a perfect example of how peace
• 8:14
Speaker 4: through strength works. He says that he was able to
• 8:17
Speaker 4: get them to the table and leverage the military and
• 8:20
Speaker 4: economic conditions to his advantage. Now, Trump also warn that
• 8:25
Speaker 4: this is not a blank check. If Iran violates the
• 8:28
Speaker 4: terms or fails to comply, He says America has the
• 8:32
Speaker 4: ability to return to military action at the G seven.
• 8:36
Speaker 4: He put it very simply. If he doesn't like what
• 8:39
Speaker 4: Iran does, we will go back to shooting. Now, the
• 8:43
Speaker 4: broader framework also lays out a sixty day period to
• 8:46
Speaker 4: negotiate a funnel settlement. It includes the ceasefire commitments related
• 8:51
Speaker 4: to Iran's nuclear activities under international monitoring, the reopening of
• 8:56
Speaker 4: maritime traffic through the Strait, and discussions over sanctions relief
• 9:00
Speaker 4: and access to frozen Iranian funds that are tied to
• 9:03
Speaker 4: the implementation of the agreement something else that many are
• 9:07
Speaker 4: fighting over in Washington right now.
• 9:09
  Speaker 5: Now.
• 9:09
Speaker 4: It's important to understand that supporters see this as a
• 9:13
Speaker 4: historic opportunity ideal that could prevent a nuclear ran and
• 9:17
Speaker 4: stop a wider Middle Eastern war. It also stabilize energy
• 9:21
Speaker 4: markets and bring down the costs for consumers. But many
• 9:25
Speaker 4: critics in the Republican Party are arguing that some of
• 9:29
Speaker 4: these provisions, involving sanctions relief and Iran financial assets being
• 9:34
Speaker 4: reopened to them, as well as regional security commitments, could
• 9:38
Speaker 4: actually give Tehran too much in return before all of
• 9:42
Speaker 4: its obligations are fulfilled, and the debate it's not over.
• 9:47
Speaker 4: The debate, however, is over those provisions, and it's going
• 9:50
Speaker 4: to dominate Washington in the coming days. But from Trump's
• 9:54
Speaker 4: perspective at the G seven, the message was crystal clear.
• 9:58
Speaker 4: Trump believes this is a deal that ends a dangerous conflict,
• 10:03
Speaker 4: it protects American interest, it keeps a ran from getting
• 10:07
Speaker 4: the bomb, and it delivers economic relief around the world.
• 10:11
Speaker 3: Next story number two, There is a very good chance.
• 10:14
Speaker 4: That the front runner for the Democratic Party for the
• 10:16
Speaker 4: presidency in twenty twenty eight may not even be on
• 10:20
Speaker 4: the ballot. Why well, Gavin Newsom and the investigation into
• 10:25
Speaker 4: him and his wife are a big story that the
• 10:28
Speaker 4: Democrats and the media aren't talking about, but we are.
• 10:31
Speaker 4: What's even more shocking is the fact that there was
• 10:34
Speaker 4: a massive plea deal that involved his very close friend
• 10:38
Speaker 4: and former chief of staff. Yeah, it is one of
• 10:41
Speaker 4: the biggest political stories that could have a massive impact
• 10:44
Speaker 4: on twenty twenty eight. And Newsom is now saying this
• 10:48
Speaker 4: is all well warfare, that's just Donald Trump going after
• 10:53
Speaker 4: him and his wife because he doesn't like them. There's
• 10:56
Speaker 4: just one problem with that narrative. This investigation happened before
• 11:00
Speaker 4: the Trump administration was in and it was not from Washington,
• 11:04
Speaker 4: d c. It originated in liberal California. Here's some more
• 11:09
Speaker 4: details from Fox News about this investigation.
• 11:13
Speaker 5: It's familiar tell Fox News that the investigation will has
• 11:16
Speaker 5: actually been ongoing since twenty twenty five, and that the
• 11:19
Speaker 5: probe is based on whistleblower complaints related to Newsom and
• 11:23
Speaker 5: his wife's personal finances. Now, the case is apparently being
• 11:27
Speaker 5: handled by the US Attorney's office in Sacramento, and as
• 11:30
Speaker 5: you pointed out, the governor remains defiant, saying today that
• 11:34
Speaker 5: the President is quote coming after my wife jen.
• 11:39
Speaker 6: In recent days, federal agents have knocked on the doors
• 11:42
Speaker 6: of family, friends and former employees, not because they found
• 11:46
Speaker 6: a crime, because they're simply trying to find one. They're
• 11:50
Speaker 6: demanding records, They're abusing the grand jury process, digging through
• 11:54
Speaker 6: years and years of random documents. So let me say
• 11:57
Speaker 6: it again, mister President, come after me. I'm not going anywhere,
• 12:02
Speaker 6: and the country is watching.
• 12:04
Speaker 5: Governor also claims the investigation is intended to undermine any
• 12:09
Speaker 5: potential White House bid in the future. Now, as for
• 12:12
Speaker 5: his wife, Jennifer, she's a documentary filmmaker who runs the
• 12:16
Speaker 5: Representation Project. It's a nonprofit and it seeks to advance
• 12:20
Speaker 5: feminism through media production. However, that charity has attracted pay
• 12:25
Speaker 5: for play allegations, with critics claiming that what essentially is
• 12:29
Speaker 5: happening over in the Golden State is corporations with business
• 12:32
Speaker 5: interests in California donate to the organization and an effort
• 12:36
Speaker 5: to gain influence over Newsome. Now you may be wondering,
• 12:39
Speaker 5: what about the DOJ. Well, they did not respond to
• 12:42
Speaker 5: a request or comment with respect to any potential investigation.
• 12:46
Speaker 4: Well, now, to be clear, what you just heard there
• 12:49
Speaker 4: is this had nothing to do with Donald Trump. This
• 12:51
Speaker 4: investigation started before Donald Trump was even back in office,
• 12:55
Speaker 4: and it came from with some blowers within his own government.
• 13:00
Speaker 4: So Gavin Newsom can cry all he wants that Trump
• 13:03
Speaker 4: is targeting me and my wife. Well conveniently forgetting one
• 13:06
Speaker 4: massive detail. The federal investigation into his shady finances and
• 13:11
Speaker 4: Jennifer's nonprofit paid to play scheme began before Trump was
• 13:15
Speaker 4: in office. Yes, this all began the investigation under the
• 13:20
Speaker 4: Biden administration, and it was people around him, whistleblowers from
• 13:26
Speaker 4: his own inner circle that blew the whistle on the corruption.
• 13:30
Speaker 4: That's right, his own team saw the corruption and just
• 13:34
Speaker 4: couldn't take it anymore, couldn't stay silent. Now the Sacramento
• 13:38
Speaker 4: US Attorney's Office is handling all this, which also points
• 13:42
Speaker 4: back to the point about his lie and his press conference. No,
• 13:46
Speaker 4: Gavin Newsom is not being politically prosecuted. This is actually
• 13:51
Speaker 4: accountability finally catching up to California's most corrupt power couple,
• 13:56
Speaker 4: the first Lady and the governor of the state. The
• 13:59
Speaker 4: walls clearly seem to be closing in. I'm Gavin, and
• 14:03
Speaker 4: it looks like there's a good chance now that not
• 14:05
Speaker 4: only has Gavin Newsom exposed, but maybe all the corruption
• 14:09
Speaker 4: on him and his wife and his former chief of
• 14:12
Speaker 4: staff has even taken a plea deal pleading guilty to
• 14:16
Speaker 4: federal charges, and that apparently maybe his biggest liability, not
• 14:21
Speaker 4: Donald Trump, but his own friends.
