- 2:43Speaker 1: you pay attention to this. But he is all in
- 2:48Speaker 1: all a well groomed person. His heart is so big
- 2:52Speaker 1: and that's that's why I invited him to this platform,
- 2:56Speaker 1: Birmingham's finest. His name is Tristan mc farland, but we
- 3:04Speaker 1: know him as Bloss the man.
- 3:10Speaker 3: People.
- 3:10Speaker 5: What something?
- 3:11Speaker 1: Listen, Okay, let's get this out my system real quick.
- 3:15Speaker 1: On my stepdaddy, you oh my goodness. So first of all,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I know you're gonna take this, got this red thing
- 3:29Speaker 1: on your on your on your beard.
- 3:32Speaker 5: I'm not gonna let you go through this podcast with this.
- 3:35Speaker 5: D you got it? You got listen. I'm so sorry.
- 3:38Speaker 5: I just looked at that, but I know.
- 3:39Speaker 3: You know, I ain't checked before I can checked. You know,
- 3:46Speaker 3: I appreciate it.
- 3:48Speaker 1: We can't go through the whole interview with you got
- 3:50Speaker 1: peace on your face. And you know, people so concerned
- 3:55Speaker 1: about this one place, one place that we don't edit
- 3:58Speaker 1: things out.
- 3:58Speaker 5: It's because people want to experience the whole thing. And
- 4:01Speaker 5: so listen. We was gonna listen. He has some peace
- 4:04Speaker 5: on his face. Christian, how you doing, man?
- 4:11Speaker 3: I'm blessed. I mean, I can't I can't complain I
- 4:14Speaker 3: can't complain at all. I mean, you know, woke up
- 4:18Speaker 3: with a smile on my face.
- 4:19Speaker 1: M M.
- 4:20Speaker 3: I can't. I have nothing to complain about. People in
- 4:24Speaker 3: this world didn't even wake up this morning, so you know,
- 4:27Speaker 3: I mean, I I can't do nothing. But thank god.
- 4:32Speaker 3: You know, it's just a blessing to be able to
- 4:36Speaker 3: drive at least.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Man, because you just got out of surgery and the
- 4:41Speaker 1: people was getting on your nerves. I'm gonna go I'm
- 4:43Speaker 1: gonna see he's not gonna say it, but I'm gonna
- 4:45Speaker 1: say it.
- 4:45Speaker 5: Y'all. They was I won't say that. You know, they
- 4:48Speaker 5: were checking on you.
- 4:49Speaker 1: And if you got half a million followers checking on you,
- 4:54Speaker 1: it's like a little overwind.
- 4:55Speaker 5: So can you address that? Go ahead and get that
- 4:57Speaker 5: off your chest.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm good. I'm just great. I mean I've said
- 5:03Speaker 3: it a hundred times. I mean if I got to
- 5:06Speaker 3: say it a hundred more times, that's fine. I mean, yes,
- 5:08Speaker 3: it can't get annoying. You know, it's not you know,
- 5:12Speaker 3: not not to be me or to be a butthole
- 5:14Speaker 3: anything like that. But you know, it's some people that
- 5:17Speaker 3: didn't know that, you know, I had surgery, you know,
- 5:20Speaker 3: didn't know I was out of certain whatever the case
- 5:22Speaker 3: may be. But I'm fine, I'm good, I'm healing. Well,
- 5:26Speaker 3: I got to stay. We took out my head, so
- 5:27Speaker 3: you know, the recovery is going as playing. But everybody,
- 5:31Speaker 3: I'm fine, I'm good, I'm living. I'm back to my
- 5:35Speaker 3: old self. Steroids just they altered. They altered, you man
- 5:41Speaker 3: them steroids. Oh, I'm already a butthole. You know, I'm
- 5:45Speaker 3: I'm a Capricorn. So it's like, you know, I mean
- 5:48Speaker 3: I might say a little flat, some flats stuff here
- 5:50Speaker 3: now and then, but I don't mean no. I'm just
- 5:52Speaker 3: you know, I'm goofy. I'm just all around, just be.
- 5:56Speaker 3: I just like to talk.
- 6:01Speaker 5: That's what that's expected.
- 6:02Speaker 1: And I don't think anybody took offense to it, but
- 6:05Speaker 1: I want to go ahead and get that off people's
- 6:06Speaker 1: chairs because you know, we call my sister first, and
- 6:09Speaker 1: she that's one of the first things you said.
- 6:11Speaker 5: I'm glad you're healing. I'm glad your head straight, your head,
- 6:17Speaker 5: your head, man.
- 6:20Speaker 1: But it's to be loved by so many people that
- 6:22Speaker 1: could be that. I think that could probably be both ways.
- 6:25Speaker 1: What is your experience with having so much following like
- 6:30Speaker 1: that's a lot of responsibilities.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Sometimes it really makes me nervous sometimes, I mean it
- 6:35Speaker 3: makes me nervous because, like I said, I don't want
- 6:39Speaker 3: to come off as but you know what I'm saying.
- 6:42Speaker 3: But people got to understand that just because I got
- 6:46Speaker 3: so many characters, I'm still human, you know. I mean,
- 6:51Speaker 3: I got veins flow the same way everybody else's flow. Right,
- 6:56Speaker 3: you know, I got emotions. You know, I don't know
- 6:59Speaker 3: what people get. Well, you know, you get to a
- 7:02Speaker 3: point where folks don't think that you have emotions. You're
- 7:05Speaker 3: not supposed to say anything, but he's supposed to ignore everything.
- 7:09Speaker 3: I can't ignore everything. I mean, I'm gonna speak my mind.
- 7:13Speaker 3: I don't care you know if if a person, because
- 7:19Speaker 3: a lot of people be like, well I'm follow.
- 7:20Speaker 1: You, okay, goodbye, good goodbye Sam Sally Sarah.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Like I said, I don't I don't even want to
- 7:29Speaker 3: come up with a home. But like I said, I'm
- 7:31Speaker 3: a human. You know what I'm saying. I mean, allow
- 7:33Speaker 3: me to go through my emotions just right, You go
- 7:35Speaker 3: through your emotions, like people talk crazy in the comments.
- 7:39Speaker 3: People are so crazy in the comments.
- 7:41Speaker 5: And how do you how do you manage that?
- 7:43Speaker 1: Because I know that can be You're getting thousands of
- 7:46Speaker 1: comments per per post, like in the in the first
- 7:49Speaker 1: thirty minutes, like I've seen I'm like, no, he just
- 7:51Speaker 1: posted thirty minutes ago. While I'm laughing, somebody's saying something
- 7:55Speaker 1: sideways or doing something.
- 7:56Speaker 5: How do you manage those comments that are just kind
- 8:01Speaker 5: of like off the wall?
- 8:04Speaker 3: But sometimes I try, I try to. I try to
- 8:06Speaker 3: ignore it, but sometimes you have to address certain things
- 8:10Speaker 3: so people can understand them. Like you're not a pushover. Yeah, yeah,
- 8:13Speaker 3: I'm not a pushover. Like you're not feeling disrespect me
- 8:16Speaker 3: in the comments, rather I respond or not. I'm just
- 8:18Speaker 3: not going to let you do that because if you
- 8:20Speaker 3: do it, then somebody else gonna feel like they can
- 8:22Speaker 3: say what they want to say. I mean, I feel
- 8:23Speaker 3: like the comment section in today's world and social media
- 8:27Speaker 3: is like people feel like they can say what they
- 8:29Speaker 3: want to say and just don't care. Like the outcome
- 8:33Speaker 3: of it is crazy, Like y'all be saying like some
- 8:36Speaker 3: of the most disrespectful things and when I say something back, oh,
- 8:39Speaker 3: I'm in my feelings.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Now, right, because you're supposed to be the character you
- 8:42Speaker 1: don't supposed to be trician, right, That's why I think
- 8:46Speaker 1: it's important to let people know, like I love I
- 8:50Speaker 1: love this, that your profiles have your name, like you
- 8:54Speaker 1: attach yourself. You don't detach yourself from your names. Like
- 8:57Speaker 1: you're not calling yourself a character. You're not calling like
- 8:59Speaker 1: you have yourn you have, you have your brand, but
- 9:01Speaker 1: you have your name separating. I think that's important so
- 9:04Speaker 1: that people that have common sense can and I don't
- 9:08Speaker 1: mind saying it, people have common sense can relate that, oh,
- 9:12Speaker 1: this is not him full time. He is not if
- 9:16Speaker 1: you mean it all day long.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Twenty four seven. I'm not mispeaches, I'm not trading twenty
- 9:23Speaker 3: four seven. Like I'm a husband. Yeah, I'm a father,
- 9:27Speaker 3: I'm a brother, I'm my uncle. Like I'm a real person,
- 9:31Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. I'm just not a character.
- 9:33Speaker 3: So I just feel like sometimes people one thing about
- 9:37Speaker 3: being a comedian is it seems like everybody expect you
- 9:39Speaker 3: to be funny twenty four to seven, and I'm just
- 9:43Speaker 3: I just like when I post videos, that's that's when
- 9:47Speaker 3: I'm being funny, you know what I'm saying. But if
- 9:50Speaker 3: I'm just making like a regular post or something like,
- 9:52Speaker 3: that's just me being human. You know, it could be
- 9:54Speaker 3: about anything, but I'm not all. I'm not a comedian
- 9:59Speaker 3: twenty four human, you know after four o'clock because I
- 10:07Speaker 3: post my videos within you know, like in the morning
- 10:12Speaker 3: after four o'clock, it's this family time.
- 10:16Speaker 5: Yep. I think I love that.
- 10:18Speaker 1: And you can see that even on your feet, like
- 10:21Speaker 1: you're even baby boys here today, and like it's beautiful
- 10:25Speaker 1: to have someone come with you and just represent family
- 10:29Speaker 1: because at the end of the day, if your household
- 10:31Speaker 1: ain't taken care of, you can't take care on the
- 10:32Speaker 1: folks on Instagram. You can't take care on the folks
- 10:34Speaker 1: on Facebook, tik took all these platforms that you've been
- 10:37Speaker 1: and so it's beautiful that I've seen, Like even if
- 10:40Speaker 1: you pay attention to your stories, I've seen where you
- 10:43Speaker 1: shout out your wife or I see you do that
- 10:45Speaker 1: video which took to the beauty shop or something like
- 10:48Speaker 1: like I was like, oh, wow, you know that's a
- 10:50Speaker 1: beautiful marriage. So how does your this is so good?
- 10:54Speaker 1: How does your wife manage all that attention? Like cause
- 10:57Speaker 1: she don't seem like she she.
- 11:00Speaker 5: Seems more introverted.
- 11:01Speaker 3: I don't know the woman to God, but in my
- 11:03Speaker 3: mind when I think of my wife, and now I
- 11:05Speaker 3: don't try to compare her anything I think of when
- 11:07Speaker 3: I think when I think of my wife, I think
- 11:09Speaker 3: of Savannah James Labron James, because she's behind the scenes.
- 11:13Speaker 3: She don't want to be seen as much. She's she's
- 11:17Speaker 3: a mother, you know, she's nurturing, she take care of
- 11:20Speaker 3: the kids. She's not really a kind of person. But
- 11:24Speaker 3: I've been chasing this dream since we've been together. So
- 11:28Speaker 3: she respects it. But she still want her damn time.
- 11:33Speaker 5: Listen, you tell the men.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Want you. I don't care what you do. She wan't
- 11:41Speaker 3: her time, so you know I have to respect that
- 11:44Speaker 3: as her husband, because that time is important because you
- 11:50Speaker 3: can get lost. Like I'm still learning today how to
- 11:54Speaker 3: manage being a husband, being a father, being a content creator.
- 11:58Speaker 3: It's a lot, you know. So I'm still trying to
- 12:00Speaker 3: manage that. And sometimes, yes, she gets on my ass
- 12:03Speaker 3: about it, and I mean, I don't. I can't get
- 12:06Speaker 3: mad at it, Ford, because you know, I got to
- 12:09Speaker 3: learn how to manage it. If I want to do this,
- 12:12Speaker 3: I got to learn how to be those three things
- 12:16Speaker 3: in one day.
- 12:17Speaker 1: If that makes that's so good, and I think it
- 12:20Speaker 1: gives hope to even women because he desireate singles by
- 12:22Speaker 1: the way, So yeah, that's where in our single. So
- 12:31Speaker 1: it gives us hope because you know we're we're creatives
- 12:33Speaker 1: as well, and we're growing and developing. It's like, whooh,
- 12:37Speaker 1: the more attention that you have, the more responsibility, the
- 12:41Speaker 1: more admin work you got, the more things that you're juggling,
- 12:44Speaker 1: because life don't stop because you want to create. It
- 12:48Speaker 1: does not stop because you want to be you want
- 12:49Speaker 1: to put that wig gone, or you want to be
- 12:52Speaker 1: the old white man.
- 12:53Speaker 5: But I let's say I love. I'm not gonna say
- 12:56Speaker 5: sing what if you want to see what he be saying?
- 12:59Speaker 5: You got us, I'm not gonna say it play here,
- 13:06Speaker 5: but I and.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I enjoy the seeing the balance. But it's not even
- 13:13Speaker 1: I don't even call it a hustle. But when your
- 13:15Speaker 1: grace for something like this and God has like literally
- 13:18Speaker 1: called you to do something, you have the stamina, you
- 13:21Speaker 1: have the support. And so with with that being said,
- 13:25Speaker 1: I know you're not the characters, but we gotta get
- 13:27Speaker 1: into these characters because okay, let's okay, first of all,
- 13:31Speaker 1: love and dementia, sir, all these c p asy Okay,
- 13:40Speaker 1: where did you get all these concepts from because you
- 13:42Speaker 1: got multiple shows on your platform.
- 13:45Speaker 5: Literally, it's just.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Okay, So I'm gonna just start.
- 13:50Speaker 5: From like, let's go because we want to know.
- 13:54Speaker 3: So okay, So I started off as CNA. I wasn't
- 14:01Speaker 3: saying there for like three months. At a nursing home.
- 14:05Speaker 3: I wasn't. I wasn't that long. I was in there.
- 14:07Speaker 3: I was there three months, and within those three months
- 14:11Speaker 3: I've seen everything everything. So after those three months, I
- 14:16Speaker 3: ended up being a mental health tech. So over I
- 14:19Speaker 3: don't want to say I can't say the night, but
- 14:21Speaker 3: I was a mental health tech at two hospitals. The
- 14:24Speaker 3: first hospital I spent maybe like two or five years.
- 14:28Speaker 3: In the next hospital, I spent like maybe a year
- 14:29Speaker 3: and a half. But the last hospital I worked at,
- 14:35Speaker 3: I was at work one day and I was just like, man,
- 14:37Speaker 3: some got the shape, you know what I'm saying, Because
- 14:39Speaker 3: I got tired of clocking THEE and I got tired
- 14:42Speaker 3: of restraining residents and stuff like that. I just got tired.
- 14:47Speaker 3: It was just because anything can happened, like this was
- 14:53Speaker 3: let's say twenty nineteen, twenty nineteen, yeah, twenty nineteen when
- 14:59Speaker 3: it was so but just the just the physical aspect
- 15:04Speaker 3: of the whole thing as far as like being. It's
- 15:07Speaker 3: a lot that goes with it. And the pay is
- 15:10Speaker 3: horrible for somebody that's really risking your life because you're
- 15:14Speaker 3: in the mental health tech with a whole type of
- 15:17Speaker 3: type of convicts people from off the street, you know,
- 15:20Speaker 3: on drugs, all that type of stuff that you got
- 15:22Speaker 3: to deal with, and you get paid nine dollars an hour,
- 15:25Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. So I went in the
- 15:27Speaker 3: bathroom one day, man, I tied a piece of teacher
- 15:30Speaker 3: around my head like a like a with a little
- 15:34Speaker 3: ball right here. I still, I can make it. I
- 15:36Speaker 3: can make one right now. I twisted it up, man,
- 15:38Speaker 3: and just and you know what, the men's bathroom, you
- 15:40Speaker 3: maybe got one stall and two toilets or two stars
- 15:43Speaker 3: and one toilet. And I gave each one of them
- 15:46Speaker 3: a name. It's Peaches Deveritly and mister Clark. And I
- 15:51Speaker 3: recorded myself talking to each stall like it was a person,
- 15:56Speaker 3: and I posted that video went by. And what's so
- 16:01Speaker 3: crazy is all this long time it was up one
- 16:03Speaker 3: of my nose because I had been to CNA and
- 16:05Speaker 3: the middle He'll take all these years, and it took
- 16:07Speaker 3: seven years for it to click seven years write up
- 16:13Speaker 3: on my nose. The whole time I posted that video
- 16:16Speaker 3: went by the second video I posted. That one went
- 16:19Speaker 3: more viout than the other one. And it's just it
- 16:21Speaker 3: was like a snowball efit. It just was rolling and rolling.
- 16:24Speaker 3: In that same year, the page that was it was
- 16:29Speaker 3: verified and it got hacked that same year.
- 16:33Speaker 5: So this is not even the page. Because let me
- 16:35Speaker 5: catch you up. I do need to say this.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I started following you after you. You actually followed me
- 16:41Speaker 1: first because of the tab with the brown yes, and
- 16:46Speaker 1: so I was like, who is this with a blue check.
- 16:50Speaker 5: This, I'm like, I'm learning you. I'm like, this man
- 16:54Speaker 5: is amazing.
- 16:56Speaker 3: What did it?
- 17:00Speaker 1: Then I was like, oh my gosh, he's like and
- 17:03Speaker 1: so that made me so excited. So first of all,
- 17:05Speaker 1: thank you so much for that, Like that made that
- 17:07Speaker 1: made me my heart smiles whatever. But to actually enjoy
- 17:10Speaker 1: the content, it was just beautiful. So you're saying that
- 17:15Speaker 1: the page and I'm following now didn't have wasn't the
- 17:20Speaker 1: one that I got that?
- 17:21Speaker 5: Well?
- 17:22Speaker 1: Was it?
- 17:22Speaker 5: It was that one hacked?
- 17:23Speaker 3: I think, well, it's the Facebook page. Oh okay, but
- 17:28Speaker 3: I don't know if I think that's the same Instagram page,
- 17:31Speaker 3: I don't know. But the Facebook page I had at
- 17:35Speaker 3: first it was called Hoods and Aid's Comedy, That's what
- 17:37Speaker 3: it was, Okay, but that one got hacked and I
- 17:42Speaker 3: had to start all over in the same year, ended
- 17:45Speaker 3: up paralyzed, so I couldn't even I was still doing content,
- 17:49Speaker 3: but I was uploading my old videos from the last page.
- 17:53Speaker 3: So luckily my mama had a face old Facebook page
- 17:56Speaker 3: of mind that I had to get it to start
- 18:01Speaker 3: all over again. So that's how I was able to.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Deray, did you just hear what he just said? He
- 18:08Speaker 1: swiped past that real quick because he don't understand what
- 18:11Speaker 1: he just said. I'm about to tell you what you
- 18:14Speaker 1: just said, Tristan. He said he didn't allow the situation
- 18:17Speaker 1: to stop what he was not.
- 18:18Speaker 5: Only that does Ray. Sometimes we got to talk to
- 18:20Speaker 5: each other because you just missed this. This is what
- 18:23Speaker 5: he just said.
- 18:25Speaker 1: That although something bad happened, yeah, the good revealed itself
- 18:31Speaker 1: and revealed itself quickly that it blessed him to get
- 18:34Speaker 1: back to a place and then extend so to me,
- 18:39Speaker 1: that means that goes back to the point of what
- 18:44Speaker 1: you have is what you need and the panics that
- 18:47Speaker 1: we experienced, like everybody getting hacked at these points, like
- 18:50Speaker 1: it's a lot of people that we've experienced to getting hacked,
- 18:53Speaker 1: and it's like you, this is so good, the beauty
- 18:56Speaker 1: of repurposing you was you were?
- 19:00Speaker 5: You was paralyzed.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I was paralized for.
- 19:08Speaker 5: Okay, we're not Can we not go past this story?
- 19:10Speaker 5: What what happened?
- 19:12Speaker 3: Okay? So after, like I said, I was working as
- 19:16Speaker 3: a mental health tech. Yeah, and I ended up getting
- 19:18Speaker 3: a new job, really good job. I don't want to
- 19:21Speaker 3: say the thing because you know, but it was a
- 19:26Speaker 3: pipe company, well known pipe company. I'm sure you probably
- 19:29Speaker 3: probably know what it is. But I was working there.
- 19:33Speaker 3: It was one night we had some people that quit,
- 19:38Speaker 3: so we would go to different areas to help, you know,
- 19:42Speaker 3: other people out. So I was on my way there
- 19:45Speaker 3: and my legs started feeling funny and my feet started
- 19:49Speaker 3: taking you know how you feel sleep somewhere too long.
- 19:53Speaker 3: So I was as I was walking, I was feeling
- 19:55Speaker 3: that and it just gave out. My legs gave out,
- 19:58Speaker 3: and I feel I remember in my head, and what's
- 20:03Speaker 3: so crazy is I wasn't supposed to have my phone
- 20:07Speaker 3: on me, but luckily I had my phone. I mean,
- 20:11Speaker 3: I was able to call my manager and tell him, hey,
- 20:15Speaker 3: I feel and told him my location was All I
- 20:20Speaker 3: remember after that is the ambulance going to the hospitals. Really,
- 20:25Speaker 3: all I.
- 20:25Speaker 5: Remember from that you are a walking miracle blessing, like
- 20:31Speaker 5: that's Ray. I don't think he knows he likes sending
- 20:34Speaker 5: chills over here, like.
- 20:37Speaker 1: So okay, because at this point, you didn't been paralyzed,
- 20:41Speaker 1: and you didn't have some surgery on your head. And
- 20:44Speaker 1: I'm not sure we don't even have to get into
- 20:46Speaker 1: that because we were done with it.
- 20:47Speaker 3: We were done with it.
- 20:49Speaker 5: If you want to dive in, and we can dive
- 20:51Speaker 5: in there, okay, because it's not you. I don't I
- 20:54Speaker 5: don't think that.
- 20:55Speaker 1: I think that people bypassed the product of you being
- 20:59Speaker 1: the miracle man, like beyond the comedy, beyond making me laugh,
- 21:04Speaker 1: like the reason why I can continue to do what
- 21:06Speaker 1: I'm doing, because I'm anointed for this, That's what Like,
- 21:09Speaker 1: that's the point where it's getting to me, like you
- 21:12Speaker 1: are meant to live, like you've been through so much so.
- 21:15Speaker 5: That's what That's what I'm getting to. But I'm trying
- 21:18Speaker 5: to but I get it.
- 21:20Speaker 3: I mean, I've I've always like I'm a very I'm
- 21:25Speaker 3: a god fearing man, like I have tons of faith.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Like everything that I do, I make sure that I pray.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I make sure because He's done so much for me
- 21:38Speaker 3: that I don't think I could ever, you know, regret anything,
- 21:43Speaker 3: because it happens for a reason. Yeah, it happens for
- 21:45Speaker 3: a reason. So you know, I wake up, like I said,
- 21:48Speaker 3: I wake up every morning and just thank God because
- 21:52Speaker 3: i'd have been paralyzed. I had surgeon, but anything could
- 21:55Speaker 3: have happened on that surge. Yeah, you know what I'm saying.
- 21:57Speaker 3: I was on the surge for five I was Anything
- 22:00Speaker 3: could have happened. I didn't even know I was up
- 22:03Speaker 3: under the survey for five hours. Anything could happened within
- 22:05Speaker 3: those five hours. So it's just a blessing to be
- 22:08Speaker 3: able to walk, you know, because I couldn't even walk.
- 22:12Speaker 3: I could not walk. My wife had no white ma hands,
- 22:15Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. So it's like, you know,
- 22:18Speaker 3: it makes me nervous. It's like it makes me nervous
- 22:23Speaker 3: because you just never know. That's why you got to
- 22:26Speaker 3: live every single day like it's your last, because you
- 22:28Speaker 3: just never know.
- 22:33Speaker 1: So to be to have that understanding, your relationship with comedy.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Let's let's talk about that. I know I've taken a
- 22:41Speaker 1: heart because I'm trying not to go down that path
- 22:44Speaker 1: right now because you almost sent me in a Tristan.
- 22:48Speaker 5: You almost sent me in your relationship with comedy. When
- 22:53Speaker 5: did that start?
- 22:55Speaker 3: I didn't even I didn't know I had the gift.
- 22:58Speaker 3: I didn't know the person that told me that I
- 23:02Speaker 3: had the voice for it. And I'm gonna shot shot
- 23:04Speaker 3: him out all the time. It's Pratt City savage. He
- 23:10Speaker 3: really was. He called me like I had never talked
- 23:12Speaker 3: to him before, like we never had no interaction. Like
- 23:15Speaker 3: he called me. He was like, man, you got the
- 23:18Speaker 3: voice for it. And we did a skit that skin
- 23:20Speaker 3: went viral. But it's just I never knew I was funny.
- 23:26Speaker 3: I just didn't. People told me I was. But you know,
- 23:29Speaker 3: I'm just I wanted to be a rapper.
- 23:31Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying. You wanted to be a
- 23:33Speaker 5: rapper close that's where you get from my uncle.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Actually, well we can dive into that, okay, But yeah,
- 23:41Speaker 3: I wanted. I mean, I still make use music to
- 23:43Speaker 3: this day. I mean, so it's I mean, it's just
- 23:45Speaker 3: my first love. So I'm gonna always make music rather
- 23:49Speaker 3: than do anything or not. It's just my way of
- 23:51Speaker 3: inventing or whatever. But I had after after that first
- 23:57Speaker 3: skit that me and him did, I started making my
- 23:58Speaker 3: own skits or whatever.
- 24:00Speaker 5: It did good.
- 24:01Speaker 3: But when I made that seeing a skit, it's just
- 24:06Speaker 3: like it was the one that that was my niche,
- 24:08Speaker 3: my niche. Yeah yeah, but it's just I didn't. I
- 24:17Speaker 3: didn't plan for it to happen. It's just, you know,
- 24:19Speaker 3: I I wanted to be entertainer rather it was making
- 24:24Speaker 3: musical acting. But as far as like the comedy, it's
- 24:27Speaker 3: just it just came. I mean, I don't, I can't really.
- 24:34Speaker 3: I mean I did stand up before, I won competitions,
- 24:36Speaker 3: competitions and stuff, but I didn't know that I had
- 24:39Speaker 3: that gift until you know, after me and practically Savage
- 24:43Speaker 3: had that conversation, and after that, I just started pursuing
- 24:47Speaker 3: it more until I was able to find you know,
- 24:50Speaker 3: that one thing that I could you know, uh how
- 24:55Speaker 3: you said that I could push out.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Yeah, that you that you could call your own because
- 25:01Speaker 1: even with Press City Savage, like, that's the beautiful thing
- 25:03Speaker 1: about covering in community, right, so somebody could see something
- 25:06Speaker 1: in you that's a relationship saying I was just thinking
- 25:09Speaker 1: about that. I literally have the relationship with my coach
- 25:12Speaker 1: and she. It's things in me that I'm doing now
- 25:18Speaker 1: that I would have never imagine myself doing or being
- 25:20Speaker 1: a part of, like speaking and you know, all this
- 25:25Speaker 1: stuff that I'm doing now, I can honestly say has
- 25:29Speaker 1: been derived from seeds of that relationship. And somebody saying
- 25:32Speaker 1: her saying, look, this is what it's for you. Like
- 25:37Speaker 1: sometimes you're like, no, I'm not worthy to do that,
- 25:39Speaker 1: or I've never seen myself doing that. I want to
- 25:41Speaker 1: stick to this, like this is what I plan. And
- 25:44Speaker 1: sometimes it says your ways are not my ways and
- 25:47Speaker 1: your thoughts are not my thoughts for a reason because
- 25:49Speaker 1: you can't even understand did you ever really think that
- 25:52Speaker 1: the platform that you've got now you got shows like shows, Okay,
- 25:58Speaker 1: it's different because with the cen is one, but then
- 26:01Speaker 1: you got then you got when the man and the
- 26:03Speaker 1: woman be into it.
- 26:07Speaker 5: I think every time you post something, I feel offended.
- 26:12Speaker 3: You be talking about us what life experiences? Man, man,
- 26:17Speaker 3: it's just life experiences. Some of that stuff is about my.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Wife, she know it, so stuff that she be doing
- 26:25Speaker 1: that you call her out on. So that's your release,
- 26:28Speaker 1: so you don't argue. You just released through the comedy.
- 26:31Speaker 1: So you call her out. So what's the conversation after
- 26:33Speaker 1: the fact.
- 26:34Speaker 3: She don't care. She don't care, because that's the That's
- 26:39Speaker 3: the thing I love about it though, because she's going
- 26:41Speaker 3: to be her regardless. She don't care, you know, And
- 26:44Speaker 3: that's what that's That's one of the reasons why I
- 26:46Speaker 3: love her so much because she she doesn't change at all.
- 26:49Speaker 3: She's going to be her regardless of anything. But she
- 26:55Speaker 3: loved me to death. I don't think two men and
- 26:58Speaker 3: women would stick around for a man three four months.
- 27:04Speaker 3: They can't walk. Not too many women can. Not too
- 27:07Speaker 3: many women gonna do that, especially in today's society. Not
- 27:10Speaker 3: too many women's gonna do that. Different, it's it's different.
- 27:14Speaker 3: So that's why you know, I I adore her because
- 27:21Speaker 3: dealing with that and me having served on my head
- 27:24Speaker 3: like that, there's two major things that like you got
- 27:29Speaker 3: to wake up like this, this is your woman right here. Yeah,
- 27:32Speaker 3: you can't miss it up. And I mean I didn't
- 27:34Speaker 3: seen it happen too many times. You know what I'm saying,
- 27:38Speaker 3: My parents, other people parents, you know. Then the voice
- 27:42Speaker 3: and all that kind of stuff.
- 27:43Speaker 5: I don't.
- 27:45Speaker 3: I've seen it too many times. I know, I know
- 27:47Speaker 3: the risks of certain situations. I know what's gonna happen,
- 27:51Speaker 3: So I'm not I don't want to. I don't want
- 27:54Speaker 3: to jeopardize what I have at home. I don't want
- 27:56Speaker 3: to jeopardize that this is.
- 27:59Speaker 5: This gives me hope.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Yeah, this gives me hope because if I can be
- 28:03Speaker 1: honest with you, Flase, like people could assume, especially how
- 28:06Speaker 1: you dress, how you're a comedian, your I don't even
- 28:09Speaker 1: want to say the lifestyle, because that's there, your character.
- 28:12Speaker 1: But you know, we have our assumptions. But the easy
- 28:15Speaker 1: assumption is to feel and seeing like, oh yeah you can.
- 28:18Speaker 5: You don't.
- 28:19Speaker 1: You don't have that type of heart. You know what
- 28:20Speaker 1: I'm saying that it is easy to assume that you
- 28:24Speaker 1: just the next Negro. You know what I'm saying.
- 28:27Speaker 5: That's whole fifty ishes of me, Like, I get it.
- 28:32Speaker 3: It's the truth.
- 28:37Speaker 1: So I think even hearing you say that is refreshing
- 28:42Speaker 1: to be like, hey, I got standards, Like my standards
- 28:45Speaker 1: are here, I got boundaries. The characters are the characters,
- 28:49Speaker 1: and I'm Tristian at the end of the day. That's
- 28:52Speaker 1: who my wife married, and so I love that. So
- 28:58Speaker 1: back to you offending me, y'all, y'all gotta go watch it.
- 29:02Speaker 1: If y'all not watching these these videos, y'all not y'all
- 29:06Speaker 1: not being offended, because every time this last one, I don't.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Let's let's not talk about it, but let's talk about
- 29:13Speaker 1: why you got on the end of the bed.
- 29:17Speaker 5: And channeling some mom.
- 29:22Speaker 3: That's that's just that's just me getting back to me,
- 29:26Speaker 3: you know, because I'm just goofy, Like I'm really goofy
- 29:29Speaker 3: in real life, Like I'm goofy, Like seriously, that's just
- 29:33Speaker 3: me being that's just my personality. Like I would really
- 29:36Speaker 3: just I would do some random stuff.
- 29:38Speaker 5: Just for no reason, and it's any hit every time.
- 29:41Speaker 1: And folks, I think people are scared to like show
- 29:44Speaker 1: their silly side, but you embrace it, and I think
- 29:47Speaker 1: that's what people like because you're doing things that people
- 29:49Speaker 1: really probably do behind the scenes and then you're calling
- 29:53Speaker 1: them out with your skits. One of the things I
- 29:55Speaker 1: do want to touch on why you hear Christian is
- 29:58Speaker 1: I saw something I can't remember his name right now,
- 30:02Speaker 1: but the idea of men in wigs and acting as women.
- 30:07Speaker 5: You know, we have Tyler Perry madea.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Martin Lawrence has put it's your name name, like all
- 30:14Speaker 1: these infamous characters. But then you see a certain group
- 30:21Speaker 1: of people or people that think a certain way, think
- 30:24Speaker 1: that's demeaning not only to the male but to the woman.
- 30:30Speaker 1: And I saw I forgot who this was, but they
- 30:35Speaker 1: got on a wig. You put on a wig and
- 30:37Speaker 1: you start looking at the camera. You say, I'm tired
- 30:39Speaker 1: of all of these comedians.
- 30:41Speaker 5: I loved it.
- 30:42Speaker 1: I was like, address it and address it in the
- 30:45Speaker 1: character because it was just so beautiful. Let's talk about that,
- 30:48Speaker 1: Like what's I want to know what the problem is.
- 30:50Speaker 1: I don't really understand it.
- 30:52Speaker 3: I don't The thing is you, That's that's That's really
- 30:57Speaker 3: where it comes down to that. I mean, you got
- 30:59Speaker 3: people that love it, people that don't like it. I mean,
- 31:02Speaker 3: but what's so crazy is I think it's more so
- 31:05Speaker 3: like you see it more often now than you did,
- 31:09Speaker 3: you know when Martin Door or whatever, because of social media.
- 31:14Speaker 3: I just feel like a lot of people do it
- 31:16Speaker 3: now because they know you can get paid from it,
- 31:19Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. So it's like, you know, hey,
- 31:21Speaker 3: if I can make this quick, I ain't got to
- 31:24Speaker 3: put it. I don't live like this. But you know,
- 31:27Speaker 3: if I can make a quick one hundred dollars just
- 31:28Speaker 3: to put it on, okay, cool, let me do it.
- 31:31Speaker 3: But you know, like I said, it's just people just
- 31:35Speaker 3: you know, just can't please everybody. I mean, but the
- 31:39Speaker 3: people that follow me, the people that you know, know
- 31:43Speaker 3: who I am. It's just a character, you know. And
- 31:47Speaker 3: I mean if you don't respect it, I mean, I
- 31:49Speaker 3: ain't nothing I can do about it. Yeah, you know,
- 31:51Speaker 3: I this is what I want to do. My brother
- 31:56Speaker 3: told me a long time ago when I started doing
- 31:58Speaker 3: putting the wigs on, He said, you know what's gonna
- 31:59Speaker 3: come mind, what's gonna come behind? Are you ready for it?
- 32:03Speaker 3: I mean, it is what it is. I can't I'm
- 32:06Speaker 3: not finna change you know, what I've built just because
- 32:10Speaker 3: you don't like the fact that I got a wig
- 32:12Speaker 3: you don't like it. I mean, I'm not forcing you
- 32:14Speaker 3: to watch it. You know this, this this content that
- 32:17Speaker 3: I do is for the people that love what I do.
- 32:20Speaker 3: You know this, people love Tracy, people love mis Peaches.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Every every week that I put on, they love that character.
- 32:28Speaker 3: And I'm and what's so cool about it? At first,
- 32:31Speaker 3: I didn't think that men was gonna appreciate it or
- 32:36Speaker 3: laugh at it. But you got people got me in
- 32:39Speaker 3: this taking pictures with me shaking my head. Hey man,
- 32:43Speaker 3: that I embrace it. That that makes me that that
- 32:48Speaker 3: lets me know that hey man, it's cool. Just you're
- 32:51Speaker 3: gonna have people that like it. You don't have people
- 32:53Speaker 3: that don't. But I'm blessed with the talent that I
- 32:57Speaker 3: have and I'm gonna I'm gonna use it. Yeah, you know,
- 33:01Speaker 3: if a person like it or not, I mean I
- 33:04Speaker 3: but it's what's so crazy the people that don't like
- 33:06Speaker 3: it still watch it, right.
- 33:08Speaker 1: That that's the part for me, Like you doing all
- 33:11Speaker 1: this coming and combating and all that stuff like that,
- 33:14Speaker 1: but yet you have not done anything like you You're
- 33:20Speaker 1: you're still watching my stuff. Christian, I'm curious about this.
- 33:25Speaker 1: You're such a Do you feel his heart desert or
- 33:28Speaker 1: is it just just me? I mean, you just got
- 33:30Speaker 1: a beautiful heart.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Appreciate it.
- 33:35Speaker 1: I look at comedy as a poor right. Laughter It
- 33:40Speaker 1: says it's laughter is good for the soul, right, and
- 33:45Speaker 1: that means that the person that's creating the laughter has
- 33:50Speaker 1: to have a level of poor too. So how do
- 33:53Speaker 1: you get revived. What is your what is your process
- 33:57Speaker 1: of replenishment.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Rest hm, Love from my wife, love from my kids,
- 34:06Speaker 3: love from family, love from my family, just prayer. I mean,
- 34:15Speaker 3: it's just just life. I mean I just feel like
- 34:18Speaker 3: just living and you know, living within the moment and
- 34:21Speaker 3: just taking one day at a time and just I
- 34:23Speaker 3: think I just wake up energized. I'm just energized. I really,
- 34:28Speaker 3: I'm just really I think it's the kids because they
- 34:32Speaker 3: keep me on my toes, especially my youngest, Like my
- 34:35Speaker 3: youngest daughter, Like she she's the reason why, like I'm
- 34:40Speaker 3: I'm always on my toes. I have to be energetic
- 34:42Speaker 3: because she is the smaller version of me. Like everybody
- 34:48Speaker 3: says that, so I might as well say it too.
- 34:51Speaker 3: She is like the she's me, Like she has so
- 34:54Speaker 3: much personality and so much character. Like if if I
- 34:59Speaker 3: was to stop right now, I would probably create something
- 35:04Speaker 3: for her because she has that. She had she really
- 35:09Speaker 3: does and it's it's it's amazing to see because like
- 35:13Speaker 3: I said, she very mischievous, outgoing. She's just you know,
- 35:20Speaker 3: she's just one of those kids that is just very
- 35:22Speaker 3: energized and love. I really do love it, even though
- 35:25Speaker 3: sometimes she get on my nerves. But that's just all
- 35:28Speaker 3: my kids. But she's just that one that just fakes
- 35:32Speaker 3: after me. Yeah, So I mean it's just I just
- 35:37Speaker 3: like I mean, I love life, man, Yeah, I just
- 35:39Speaker 3: love life. I mean, like I said, you just never
- 35:41Speaker 3: know what happened. You got to live every single day.
- 35:44Speaker 5: Like right, right, speaking of them kids that get on
- 35:47Speaker 5: your nerve. So with with what you're doing with your.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Your coming, your comedy, your entertainment, right, what are you
- 35:57Speaker 1: expecting to leave for them? And how is it impacting?
- 36:01Speaker 1: What are you seeing the results. So I know we
- 36:03Speaker 1: talked about baby Girl, right, but what are you seeing
- 36:06Speaker 1: and your other kids is It's like, Okay, I have
- 36:07Speaker 1: to keep doing this because it's playing this seed, and
- 36:10Speaker 1: it's playing this seed because I know it seems like
- 36:12Speaker 1: legacy is important.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Toy with my son, he I think he's going to
- 36:17Speaker 3: be a gamer. He's gonna be probably stream games and
- 36:21Speaker 3: you know he likes playing games Roadblocks and Minecraft and
- 36:28Speaker 3: stuff like that, so I think he's gonna be behind
- 36:31Speaker 3: the camera some kind of way. Yeah. My oldest daughter,
- 36:36Speaker 3: she's getting it to that age when she's just in
- 36:37Speaker 3: her room all day, you know, she come out, she
- 36:41Speaker 3: do tiktoks and stuff, normal normal kids. Yeah, you know,
- 36:45Speaker 3: but I really, I really want to leave behind everything
- 36:52Speaker 3: that I've built and I want him to be able
- 36:56Speaker 3: to build off.
- 36:57Speaker 5: That makes sense, No, it makes sense.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Because I feel like each one of them can bring
- 37:04Speaker 3: something different to the whole thing. Like it's really hard,
- 37:13Speaker 3: it's really hard to explain because it's just like it's
- 37:18Speaker 3: so much more that I think I have to do
- 37:22Speaker 3: before I could really just be like, hey, this is
- 37:25Speaker 3: one I'm gonna leave. It's so much more I could do.
- 37:28Speaker 3: So I want to I want to push myself a
- 37:33Speaker 3: little bit more. Yeah, I know I had to, you know,
- 37:37Speaker 3: lay low because I had to surge whatever, But I
- 37:40Speaker 3: think I want to push myself a little bit more
- 37:43Speaker 3: before I, you know, try to make any plans. Makes
- 37:48Speaker 3: sense because like I said, it's just so much more
- 37:50Speaker 3: I could do. But I know I'm gonna leave something.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Yeah, So even with you're saying that there's so much
- 37:56Speaker 1: more you want to push yourself, what does it look like?
- 37:58Speaker 1: Because I know that as creative we can make a plan, right,
- 38:01Speaker 1: And it's like I'm always thinking about something new, especially
- 38:04Speaker 1: with what we believe in. We we're part of the
- 38:07Speaker 1: ultimate creator, like you're connected to the creator, So what
- 38:11Speaker 1: what is what does it look like?
- 38:14Speaker 5: What do you think?
- 38:15Speaker 1: And it doesn't have to be accurate, but it's going
- 38:16Speaker 1: be a good timestamp thing. What do you think Tristian
- 38:20Speaker 1: would look like five years from now?
- 38:23Speaker 3: Five years from now, I'm pretty sure I have a
- 38:28Speaker 3: lovel dimension move out. I really do believe that I
- 38:34Speaker 3: probably have a comedy special out. I definitely want to
- 38:38Speaker 3: do that. I want to. I definitely want to sell
- 38:44Speaker 3: start on Out one one night, just a good night
- 38:49Speaker 3: of comedy. That's that's that's one of my ultimate goals
- 38:53Speaker 3: is to sell start to start on Out because sometimes
- 38:57Speaker 3: you just got to prove people. And I think that's
- 39:03Speaker 3: I got to even though you know, sometimes we say,
- 39:07Speaker 3: you know, we ain't got the pool, not to nobody.
- 39:09Speaker 3: I want to. It's just you know, over time, man,
- 39:17Speaker 3: you just I I didn't been passed up so many times.
- 39:24Speaker 3: I'd have been passed up so many times to the
- 39:26Speaker 3: point where like it drives me, it motivates me. I mean,
- 39:31Speaker 3: it's still in the back of my head. I think
- 39:32Speaker 3: about it a lot because so many people doubted it.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Nobody gave me a chance. Nobody, but not everybody calling
- 39:41Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. I mean, I I mean,
- 39:43Speaker 3: like I said, I don't want to be a butthole.
- 39:44Speaker 3: But you know, when I was trying to get to
- 39:48Speaker 3: this point, nobody want to pay me no attention. Nobody
- 39:51Speaker 3: believed anything that I wanted to want to do other
- 39:54Speaker 3: than people that was around me. You know, I would
- 39:57Speaker 3: hit people up, Hey, you know, can I can I
- 39:59Speaker 3: get about five minutes of you know, just to tell
- 40:03Speaker 3: a few jokes, every excuse in the book. You know,
- 40:08Speaker 3: That's why I always I just keep going because it's
- 40:14Speaker 3: it's something that I won't like. This is the career
- 40:16Speaker 3: that I I didn't think I was gonna have, but
- 40:20Speaker 3: I have it. So it's it's a lot of people
- 40:23Speaker 3: that I want to prove.
- 40:26Speaker 1: With you, with you saying the start on, I'm so
- 40:29Speaker 1: glad you said that because I was really I was like, man,
- 40:33Speaker 1: I would love I would be.
- 40:35Speaker 5: The first person after your wife. Let's just because we learned.
- 40:42Speaker 1: But I think I would be super super excited to
- 40:47Speaker 1: even so I feel like it's an investment. It's because
- 40:51Speaker 1: that the support pushes you. The support really pushes you. Yeah,
- 40:55Speaker 1: we have some people that like, yeah, you don't think
- 40:58Speaker 1: I can do this, but literally you have. I think
- 41:01Speaker 1: in my mind you got way more people that will
- 41:06Speaker 1: book the heck out of that just because it's like, oh,
- 41:09Speaker 1: we can buy multiple tickets, we can make this a
- 41:11Speaker 1: whole thing.
- 41:12Speaker 5: I really see that for you, like no cap like
- 41:17Speaker 5: none whatsoever.
- 41:19Speaker 1: And the beautiful thing about being able to speak this
- 41:21Speaker 1: now is that in five years you're gonna be able
- 41:24Speaker 1: to see this interview. You're gonna be like I said,
- 41:26Speaker 1: I said what I wanted, it's.
- 41:28Speaker 5: Got to happen. And and a good thing about people,
- 41:31Speaker 5: I won't call it rejection, but it might have felt
- 41:34Speaker 5: like it.
- 41:34Speaker 2: Right.
- 41:36Speaker 1: The good thing about that part Trician watch this is
- 41:40Speaker 1: that it gave you room to really create your own thing.
- 41:45Speaker 5: It's O nobody the one thing.
- 41:58Speaker 3: You know I used to say on big Grits, right,
- 42:00Speaker 3: I mean I still say that now and then my
- 42:01Speaker 3: stepdad and stuff like that. It's crazy how people say
- 42:06Speaker 3: that they came up with it knowing nobody saying who
- 42:13Speaker 3: says on, I don't know nobody else come on that.
- 42:19Speaker 3: It's it's it's it's weird that people do that, Like,
- 42:22Speaker 3: wh why won't you do that? I won't you say that?
- 42:24Speaker 3: Like somebody really came to me and said that they
- 42:26Speaker 3: came up with us just they used to say on
- 42:28Speaker 3: big ones. I've never heard nobody say that never, But
- 42:32Speaker 3: it's it's it's I just had to throw that out
- 42:34Speaker 3: there because people, bet y'all need to stop. Let me,
- 42:40Speaker 3: let me have my stuff please. But I mean, you know,
- 42:43Speaker 3: I mean people saying I have to copyright my stuff.
- 42:48Speaker 3: People really to take what you built like it's.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Crazy because now it's so easy, especially as a creative.
- 42:56Speaker 5: It's like.
- 42:59Speaker 1: With chat chips and all these other technical abilities. I'm
- 43:06Speaker 1: gonna say that you could finess a lot. You can
- 43:10Speaker 1: write a whole sermon on chat GPT and it be original.
- 43:13Speaker 1: You can do a whole comany skit on chat GPT
- 43:16Speaker 1: and it be original, right, And so I think that's
- 43:19Speaker 1: the frustration of creators. But the beautiful thing is, at
- 43:24Speaker 1: the end of the day, ain't none of these folk God,
- 43:27Speaker 1: Ain't none of these things God? Because what you get
- 43:30Speaker 1: is like that's how you know, it's like a pure download.
- 43:33Speaker 1: And I'm gonna go ahead and say this, in five years,
- 43:36Speaker 1: I would not even be surprised if you have your
- 43:39Speaker 1: own show like on a major platform, I would not
- 43:44Speaker 1: be surprised if somebody hit you up and say I
- 43:49Speaker 1: need this on my platform. I need this on my network,
- 43:53Speaker 1: right because you literally if people pay attention, like I
- 43:57Speaker 1: can't connect it to anybody else out side of Tyler Pearance,
- 44:00Speaker 1: because that's what he did. He literally create. He creates
- 44:03Speaker 1: every show and he goes thank you all the spirit
- 44:07Speaker 1: he go. He was the benefit to Oprah. Oprah's network
- 44:12Speaker 1: was gonna shut down. I don't know if a lot
- 44:14Speaker 1: of people know that, but she was having problems with
- 44:17Speaker 1: her numbers until the person with the wigs showed up.
- 44:22Speaker 1: We talked about wigs. We saved lives, save lives, whigs
- 44:32Speaker 1: I had saved lives.
- 44:33Speaker 5: So I really honestly see that for you, I really do.
- 44:39Speaker 5: You got something great going on?
- 44:41Speaker 1: So what what?
- 44:42Speaker 5: What are you working on now?
- 44:44Speaker 1: Like?
- 44:44Speaker 5: What can we expect in the immediate future.
- 44:48Speaker 3: I'm I really want to start making mine skits a
- 44:55Speaker 3: little bit longer instead of one minut, I want to
- 45:01Speaker 3: try to push it about fifteen. So what I I
- 45:04Speaker 3: think I'm gonna start adding, you know, more people so
- 45:07Speaker 3: I won't have to do like every single you know
- 45:10Speaker 3: character because you know it's stressful, it's stressful. I try to.
- 45:16Speaker 3: I try to do it, but oh Jesus, it's nerve wracking.
- 45:20Speaker 3: But I still do it because I love it. I
- 45:24Speaker 3: actually enjoy doing it. But I mean, like I said,
- 45:27Speaker 3: it's just being human. But I want to push about
- 45:31Speaker 3: fifteen minutes of you know, of those skits because I
- 45:35Speaker 3: feel because people look at it as a show. Yeah,
- 45:38Speaker 3: so why not just push it out, you know, a
- 45:40Speaker 3: little bit longer? People have something to watch, right, you know,
- 45:43Speaker 3: because sometimes you go net Flixey, it ain't nothing to watch.
- 45:46Speaker 3: To be I ain't nothing to watch. Go to regular TV.
- 45:48Speaker 3: I ain't nothing to watch. So you know, if I
- 45:51Speaker 3: could get to the point where I could at least
- 45:53Speaker 3: get like a fifteen minute skit like every Thursday or
- 45:57Speaker 3: you know, like a regular show every week once a week,
- 46:01Speaker 3: I think I can do it.
- 46:02Speaker 5: I know you can do it.
- 46:03Speaker 1: I know people will love. Like if you did like
- 46:06Speaker 1: a casting call or something like that, people respond. It's
- 46:09Speaker 1: so much talent in Birmingham that is untouched. Like people
- 46:13Speaker 1: sleep on our city. They sleep.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Hey, boy, lead a hands on about fifteen times trying
- 46:21Speaker 3: to say, I thought he was gonna stop. Stop, don't
- 46:25Speaker 3: get no more. Your hands ain't dirty. Jesus, christ. I'm sorry.
- 46:41Speaker 3: I'm trying not to say that.
- 46:43Speaker 5: I try.
- 46:44Speaker 3: I'm trying to know what it y'all.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Every parent has that fay, Hey, okay, how the dog
- 46:56Speaker 1: I forget to say, Okay, yeah, the kids loved coming
- 47:03Speaker 1: to just ass like at least he ain't sleep.
- 47:05Speaker 5: We had girl. She was over there in the corner. Well,
- 47:09Speaker 5: I say, in peace for more.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Okay, on the floor in her shirt, all all up together,
- 47:16Speaker 1: I said, But baby let him letters he amp to
- 47:19Speaker 1: because his birthday coming to up.
- 47:21Speaker 3: So you know, the boy been talking about his birthday
- 47:25Speaker 3: all year.
- 47:27Speaker 5: That's how kids. Do you remember how we were like, okay.
- 47:31Speaker 3: That's the thing I don't remember. He showed, man, it's Jane.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Well first when it is my birthday, you know when
- 47:37Speaker 3: your birthday is, it's always for me. Got you got
- 47:40Speaker 3: a lot of months to go.
- 47:41Speaker 1: He needed to know how much time he had to
- 47:43Speaker 1: get his special day is because y'all must treat him
- 47:47Speaker 1: real well on his birthday.
- 47:49Speaker 3: Man, we treat the children well all year.
- 47:52Speaker 5: So I don't like.
- 47:54Speaker 1: I don't like saying spoil no more right because the
- 48:00Speaker 1: idea being spoiled. My sister even had to get this
- 48:02Speaker 1: to me because I grew up. I don't know about you, Fox,
- 48:04Speaker 1: but yeah, my parents divorced too, So we fruit fruit
- 48:09Speaker 1: loops with what was that fruit looms or we were
- 48:13Speaker 1: what was the off brand of fruit Roudios, Sudios or
- 48:15Speaker 1: something like that.
- 48:16Speaker 5: That's what we need.
- 48:18Speaker 1: We knew that we were man a lot of stuff
- 48:23Speaker 1: for all brands, like the Mayo. I'll take Mayo the Mayo.
- 48:28Speaker 1: It's a lot of other stuff on the off brands.
- 48:32Speaker 1: But we were living like that. My nieces know about lobster.
- 48:36Speaker 1: They didn't try lobster and salmon. You know.
- 48:39Speaker 5: When the first time I'd had salmon, we when I
- 48:41Speaker 5: was out the house. My dad ain't never cooked no
- 48:44Speaker 5: sound some biscuits. So when the salmon came out out
- 48:51Speaker 5: like what is it? Anyway? So the kids I had,
- 48:58Speaker 5: I think my wife named me some suma for the
- 49:01Speaker 5: first time.
- 49:01Speaker 3: First time. Word no, I take that bit? Well all
- 49:05Speaker 3: yeah she did. Is I think that was the first
- 49:06Speaker 3: time I ever asked. My uncle made some years ago,
- 49:09Speaker 3: but I didn't eat it. That's what were supposed to
- 49:11Speaker 3: get to. I'm glad you said your uncle. Your uncle
- 49:14Speaker 3: gave you your name.
- 49:15Speaker 5: Oh yeah, man, uh.
- 49:18Speaker 3: Uh, it's it's a touch of subject because he got
- 49:20Speaker 3: killed a few years ago. I was at a I
- 49:24Speaker 3: was a football game. He got killed. Uh got killed
- 49:27Speaker 3: over cell phone.
- 49:28Speaker 1: But it was a.
- 49:31Speaker 3: One Christmas. My dad had gave us one hundred dollars
- 49:35Speaker 3: or whatever, and he ended up taking me to I
- 49:38Speaker 3: think it was Marty's five Points a few years ago,
- 49:42Speaker 3: and I had bought a Gucci suit. It's like a
- 49:44Speaker 3: Guccie jog and suit or whatever. So I went there
- 49:47Speaker 3: and tried it on and came out. He said, I
- 49:50Speaker 3: you Floss, and man start calling you Flaws. So after that,
- 49:56Speaker 3: after you know, hearing that or whatever, I just one day,
- 49:59Speaker 3: you know, because I had when through a million rap names,
- 50:02Speaker 3: so he had my rap name and ended up being
- 50:06Speaker 3: and went from Little Flaws to Flows Maine and Flos
- 50:11Speaker 3: the man my last name macfather. But I just, you know,
- 50:15Speaker 3: I just felt like that was my way of you know,
- 50:17Speaker 3: keeping you know, that memory of him, you know, name
- 50:21Speaker 3: myself Floss or whatever, because like he that was like
- 50:24Speaker 3: my big brother, yeah, because I was always with him,
- 50:27Speaker 3: you know, he was my uncle. But it was like,
- 50:29Speaker 3: you know, I think I was more. I was closer
- 50:31Speaker 3: to him than my other uncles that I had, because
- 50:35Speaker 3: I think he was, he was younger age, you know,
- 50:37Speaker 3: uh I was, you know, I just always with him,
- 50:40Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. So that was just my
- 50:42Speaker 3: way of keeping you know, that memory of him. So
- 50:45Speaker 3: that's where the flows came from.
- 50:47Speaker 1: So I thank you for sharing it because now you've
- 50:52Speaker 1: taken it to an even deeper subject. Right, and in
- 50:56Speaker 1: our city, we they call us someplaces first forty eight.
- 51:04Speaker 1: That's not a badge of honor. It's really disheartening. And
- 51:12Speaker 1: so I think with what you just said, because I
- 51:16Speaker 1: heard you when you said he got killed.
- 51:18Speaker 5: Over a cell phone?
- 51:20Speaker 3: What's chat ship?
- 51:22Speaker 1: A cell phone chip? I feel like I just need
- 51:26Speaker 1: to give you space to speak to that. Not necessarily
- 51:30Speaker 1: even that specific situation, but the situations that keep happening.
- 51:36Speaker 1: What's where we going wrong with our city? Like what
- 51:39Speaker 1: are we going wrong with the all the shootings and
- 51:42Speaker 1: stuff like that. I remember growing up there was stuff
- 51:44Speaker 1: that happened, but not on this level.
- 51:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's the influence the things that we glorify.
- 51:52Speaker 3: We glorify people Like you said the first forty eight thing.
- 51:55Speaker 3: People think that's a good thing. That like if somebody
- 51:59Speaker 3: came like people will come up to you and be
- 52:01Speaker 3: like where you're from Birmingham. That's first for the first
- 52:03Speaker 3: thing you do is laugh. I don't laugh. It's not
- 52:06Speaker 3: fun to me because it's just that that's horrible quiet.
- 52:15Speaker 5: Yes, he had to break up the strong moment strong.
- 52:21Speaker 3: But I just think we glorify the wrong things, like
- 52:26Speaker 3: I we glorifying having switches on your gun and you know,
- 52:33Speaker 3: I don't being in in gangs and stuff like that.
- 52:37Speaker 3: I just I remember a time where like the ogs
- 52:45Speaker 3: wouldn't allow twelve thirteen year olds and it you know,
- 52:52Speaker 3: on the on the block, go home, go do some homework,
- 52:55Speaker 3: go to football practice. You know. Back when I we
- 52:59Speaker 3: was at football practice. That's that was our outlet, football
- 53:03Speaker 3: pre That's that's what we knew. It's just seemed like
- 53:06Speaker 3: these days kids just won't switch it on. Nigga. I don't.
- 53:11Speaker 3: I don't understand it. I really don't. I mean, I
- 53:13Speaker 3: just wish that they had a better outlet than you know,
- 53:17Speaker 3: the streets, because I mean, I'm sure there's a lot
- 53:19Speaker 3: of kids that's in the streets that really don't want
- 53:21Speaker 3: to be in it, but that's what they surrounded around.
- 53:24Speaker 3: That's the environment, you know, and you know, and the
- 53:27Speaker 3: parents don't make it no better because they're doing the
- 53:30Speaker 3: same thing. You know, we we I just feel like
- 53:33Speaker 3: we glorify our own things. I mean, go to school, man,
- 53:38Speaker 3: it's it's it's it's other ways you can make money
- 53:40Speaker 3: these days, like social media paying everybody, everybody all you
- 53:45Speaker 3: got to just put on some clothes, you know what
- 53:47Speaker 3: I'm saying, Like put on some clothes, YouTube streaming, like
- 53:52Speaker 3: it's so much, so many ways you can make money
- 53:54Speaker 3: other than being on the street. But like I said,
- 53:57Speaker 3: you got, you just got. You know, certain people that
- 54:00Speaker 3: just don't understand, like the cold of not allowing young
- 54:08Speaker 3: kids to be in the streets like that. I mean,
- 54:10Speaker 3: it's young kids, like thirteen fourteen year olds in jail
- 54:16Speaker 3: for murder. Like that's that's crazy. It's wow, it's wild.
- 54:20Speaker 3: Like I said, it's not even the OGZ. It's kids, man.
- 54:25Speaker 3: These are kids that's going to jail. These are kids
- 54:27Speaker 3: with switches on their guns, Like why what you need
- 54:29Speaker 3: a gun for?
- 54:30Speaker 5: What do you need a gun for?
- 54:32Speaker 1: I think in our time, Christian is where I can
- 54:36Speaker 1: remember that I might not have wanted to go to school,
- 54:40Speaker 1: but there was something that did ignite me in school.
- 54:44Speaker 1: And I won't say I didn't want to go to school.
- 54:45Speaker 1: But it was just I challenging because I'm understanding now
- 54:50Speaker 1: looking back, I'm a creative. No one really tapped into that.
- 54:56Speaker 1: Nothing tapped into that until I was in music class.
- 54:59Speaker 1: I played the Violet Land and when we was in
- 55:02Speaker 1: art class. From my understanding, that's not provided anymore. And
- 55:08Speaker 1: so all the levels of it is not provided, or
- 55:10Speaker 1: the freedom of it is not provided. And so it's like,
- 55:15Speaker 1: what do we need to do to alter the attention
- 55:19Speaker 1: span to bet be trigger happy?
- 55:22Speaker 5: Yeah, you know what I'm saying.
- 55:23Speaker 3: So it's just it it's mind blowing to me.
- 55:29Speaker 5: Man.
- 55:29Speaker 3: It's it's because it's it's young people. Man, Like I know,
- 55:33Speaker 3: I keep saying that, but it's that's what it is.
- 55:36Speaker 3: So apparently somewhere in the in the area, we're not
- 55:41Speaker 3: doing what we're supposed to do for the younger generation
- 55:45Speaker 3: because all the glorifying guns. I don't understand what's the
- 55:51Speaker 3: fascination behind guns.
- 55:53Speaker 5: I I have one, yeah, but.
- 55:59Speaker 3: I don't. It's not something that I got to have.
- 56:03Speaker 3: I mean, the reason why I have it because I
- 56:05Speaker 3: have three kids and my wife. Right, you know what
- 56:07Speaker 3: I'm saying. It's just well, I don't people walking around
- 56:12Speaker 3: with shotguns.
- 56:14Speaker 1: And they I don't understand it, and how I would
- 56:17Speaker 1: be scared to shoot myself like you got accidentally.
- 56:22Speaker 3: Just to get it out, Like what what you?
- 56:25Speaker 5: What?
- 56:25Speaker 1: You?
- 56:26Speaker 3: What you what you're scared of? Like what you gotta
- 56:27Speaker 3: look up your shoulder for? Like I don't, I don't,
- 56:30Speaker 3: I don't get it. Like back in the day. I mean,
- 56:33Speaker 3: of course you got people that's gonna try you. I
- 56:35Speaker 3: just feel like like back in the day, and just
- 56:39Speaker 3: kept it moving. Yeah, because at the end of the day,
- 56:41Speaker 3: I might have a black eye, but I'm still living.
- 56:44Speaker 3: You know, I might I might scraped up my arm,
- 56:46Speaker 3: but I'm still living. We both still living. So because
- 56:50Speaker 3: I mean, I don't understand why people don't think that
- 56:51Speaker 3: you're going to get caught if you do anything. It
- 56:56Speaker 3: might not be today, it might not be tomorrow, it
- 56:57Speaker 3: might be ten years from that. You're going to get
- 56:59Speaker 3: caught at some point. So I don't understand why people
- 57:03Speaker 3: think that glory fine killing anybody, it's okay. It's not okay.
- 57:07Speaker 3: Like you, you're going to get caught, regardless of if
- 57:13Speaker 3: you think you're not. I mean, save save yourself the.
- 57:16Speaker 5: Trouble, save your save he said it, save yourself.
- 57:20Speaker 3: Save yourself. I mean, it's it's not worth going to
- 57:24Speaker 3: jail for it, because you're going to go to jail.
- 57:27Speaker 3: Whether it was an accident or not, you're going to
- 57:31Speaker 3: go to You're going to go to jail. Like get
- 57:32Speaker 3: get away from these guns. Like we got boxing.
- 57:36Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna go fight it out, man.
- 57:38Speaker 3: Shoot Jake Paul. Making money, YouTube money, yeah, fighting. Anybody
- 57:45Speaker 3: go make some money off of it. Record it, you
- 57:48Speaker 3: can put it on social media, can get paid for anything.
- 57:51Speaker 3: Both of y'all can get paid just off that one fight.
- 57:54Speaker 5: But you know what's so, it's so much pride in
- 57:57Speaker 5: it because everybody wants to be King Kong.
- 58:01Speaker 3: Everybody want to be the one.
- 58:03Speaker 1: Everybody want to be the one. And so I think
- 58:07Speaker 1: that we have an opportunity as a community. You you
- 58:10Speaker 1: post a good question. You was like, what are we
- 58:13Speaker 1: doing for them? That's the real question. What are we
- 58:17Speaker 1: doing for them? And if people can answer that, I
- 58:20Speaker 1: know people gonna be in the comments. You know people
- 58:23Speaker 1: you know you come in and they say, well, we
- 58:25Speaker 1: got this policy and we got this for the listen.
- 58:29Speaker 1: How are we marketing it? How we what are we
- 58:31Speaker 1: are we connecting with the influencer to let them let
- 58:35Speaker 1: us know what's going on in the community.
- 58:37Speaker 5: That's that's really what it needs to happen. Mayor, Mayorwood,
- 58:42Speaker 5: Come talk to me.
- 58:42Speaker 1: I got some ideas. Come talk, talk to the influencers,
- 58:48Speaker 1: talk to the creators.
- 58:49Speaker 5: Let's talk. Let's have a circle, because all we.
- 58:51Speaker 1: Need is.
- 58:53Speaker 3: If we get to the right amount of young folks,
- 58:58Speaker 3: they can see the brighter things in life. I'm sure
- 59:04Speaker 3: they can influence the next ten to fifteen people. Yeah,
- 59:08Speaker 3: you just never know unless you try. Because I mean,
- 59:10Speaker 3: like I said, it's somebody out there, it's some young
- 59:12Speaker 3: kids out there right now that's in the streets that
- 59:16Speaker 3: wants to get out. Yeah, they don't want to really
- 59:18Speaker 3: be there, but they don't have an outlet. They don't
- 59:20Speaker 3: have nobody to show them the brighter things in life,
- 59:22Speaker 3: the things that they can do that's better than what
- 59:25Speaker 3: they're already doing.
- 59:26Speaker 5: If that makes sense, No, that makes sense.
- 59:28Speaker 3: Like it's it's so it's so much more than life,
- 59:31Speaker 3: man Like, it's so much more. It's the country to.
- 59:36Speaker 5: See something new. It's not just Birmingham. We got a
- 59:41Speaker 5: whole state of cities.
- 59:42Speaker 1: We got we got a whole thing at least go
- 59:44Speaker 1: to another city, because that can change people to like
- 59:47Speaker 1: they can they can help people too.
- 59:49Speaker 5: Man, Christian, you are my dog, You dog, I'm making
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: the comedian.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: See I told you Desiate, I'm funny. I'll be telling flows.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: I'll be telling them I'm funny, and I laugh at
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: my own jokes. I just don't post it like I'm hilarious.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: But you know it's so crazy. I don't even laugh
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: at my video.
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: I don't see why not.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: But the thing is, if I laugh at I feel
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: like I feel like it ain't funny.
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: Really, I don't know why.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: It's just but I'll post it anyway. But you know,
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: I mean, I'm gonna post anything because I feel like.
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: Somebody's goanna, somebody's gonna laugh at it. A lot of
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: bodies gonna laugh.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: I feel like, if two people laugh, I'm fine with it.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: I don't even care. But that's how it started off, though,
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: Like if two people laugh, I'm fine with it. I
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: don't even I'm fine with it because I mean, you
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: never know them two people probably needed that laugh, you
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: know what I'm saying. It had been so many people
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: that hit me and said I didn't stop getting suicide
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: and you know, I done got them through a tough day,
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: or you know they significant others just died and you
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: know I minded them of them and made them laugh.
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: You know, it's just it. That's one of the reason
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: why I keep doing it, because it inspires people. It
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: made people laugh during hard time. It's just sometimes it
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: just gives me, like when you was talking about reviving.
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: Sometimes that it revives me because I feel like I've
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: accomplished something.
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: I feel like I've done my job for today, you know,
- 1:01:29Speaker 5: like that's your metric, right.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: Sometimes it's just it makes me feel it makes me
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: feel like I'm doing something right. I'm doing what I'm
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: supposed to be, Like, this is my calling, this is
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: what I'm supposed to do.
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: So you know, well, Tristan, I'm so excited that you
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: I'm so excited. So you're saying too, I be trying.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Back in the day, I think I think I okay
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: every Birmingham because Pretty Rica was making everybody feel like
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: they could sing.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: I went somewhere I thought I was. I thought I
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: was pleasure, pleasure because like it used to be me,
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: my cousin, cousins, that was pleasure.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: You were pleasure. Okay, when we get off here, I'm
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: not gonna do this. No, I'm not gonna ask you
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: that on this came y'all yep, big heart. Yeah, the
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: heart of a comedian sure like real talk. I'm so
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: glad that you came here. One of the things that
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: we love to do, you know, just ask is allowed
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: our guests to have the final words. So if anything,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: like I know we've had touched on different areas, but
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: because we want your heart. If there's not one thing
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: that the listeners hear from this end of you, what
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: did you want to leave them with If they don't
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: hear anything.
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: Else, don't try to be perfect. Work towards being perfect.
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: If that makes sense, you can elaborate, But I mean
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: what I mean by dad is.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: You will never be perfect, but you can work towards
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: anything to try to be close to being perfect, because
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: nobody in this world could ever get to a point
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: where like they just perfect on you, just unless you're
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: just a narcissist or something like that. But other than that,
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: I just feel like even with me, like I I'll
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: never be perfect, but I'm working towards being perfect. I hope,
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: I hope I explained it.
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: You explained it.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Another way that Mike Todd says this, I don't know
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: if you know who that is past Mike time he
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: says progression not perfection. And that's basically which is said,
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: progression not perfection.
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: And so that was that was for me.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: I don't know if that because I struggle with the
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: perfection is in real dead. So Christian, thank you so much.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: This has been an honor. Thank you to communicate with.
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: You so people can see who I am.
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: Yes, come on, tell me who this is?
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: No wig, Thank you so much. Listen if you like
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: this interview. If you didn't like it, I will open
