- 0:10Speaker 1: I'm feeling a little sleepy today. I don't know, well, actually,
- 0:15Speaker 1: I keep saying I don't know why. I do know why.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I'm twenty nine weeks pregnant. I'm exhausted.
- 0:21Speaker 2: I feel it. It's coming on to me. I'm feeling
- 0:24Speaker 2: the tiredness for you.
- 0:25Speaker 3: You are.
- 0:26Speaker 4: I'm awake and ready to go. You guys, I want
- 0:28Speaker 4: to talk about your weekend on the regular.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Episode, though, we'll talk about all the things on the
- 0:31Speaker 1: regular episode.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:33Speaker 1: So I was going through the notes and looking for
- 0:38Speaker 1: what bonus episode topic am I in two? And Jessica,
- 0:42Speaker 1: I forgot which one I chose, but I know I'm
- 0:46Speaker 1: mad this Okay, what is it?
- 0:48Speaker 4: And it was based off of an article I came across,
- 0:50Speaker 4: an actual article, not a TikTok over the weekend.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Okay.
- 0:53Speaker 3: And so the prompt you guys.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Was quote unquote dangerous you did as a kid that
- 1:01Speaker 4: would never fly today? And the article was a BuzzFeed
- 1:06Speaker 4: article called twenty nostalgic but dangerous back in the day
- 1:10Speaker 4: childhood experiences. Older adult adults are surprised they survived.
- 1:15Speaker 3: That's a very long title, by the way, But yeah, what's.
- 1:18Speaker 1: The quick That is not how it looked when I
- 1:20Speaker 1: chose it.
- 1:21Speaker 4: No, the one I sent, though, is the one I read,
- 1:24Speaker 4: which was just dangerous things you did as a kid
- 1:26Speaker 4: that would never fly.
- 1:27Speaker 1: And you learned it on BuzzFeed. You got the idea
- 1:29Speaker 1: on BuzzFeed.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I sure did it, think you BuzzFeed.
- 1:31Speaker 1: BuzzFeed's great. Yeah, when I chose this, I had a
- 1:37Speaker 1: plethora of memories come swirling through my mind of all
- 1:41Speaker 1: of the things that dad allowed us to do that
- 1:46Speaker 1: very well could have ended in death.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Was what was twelve year old driving the car one
- 1:52Speaker 3: of those things?
- 1:53Speaker 1: Well, no, because I kind of did that behind their back.
- 1:56Speaker 1: They didn't know about that fly. No, well, we talked.
- 2:01Speaker 1: We've talked about this a lot, so I didn't use
- 2:05Speaker 1: this as one of them. But like when we would
- 2:07Speaker 1: lay down the seats and put the TV and you know,
- 2:09Speaker 1: stupid things like that. Okay, everyone has done this one
- 2:16Speaker 1: sitting in the bed of the pickup truck. Oh oh yeah, yeah,
- 2:21Speaker 1: right is so fun on a summer day in Utah.
- 2:25Speaker 2: People still do that.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Though they do it, it's dangerous and kids don't do
- 2:29Speaker 3: it as much.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Wait, where have you seen them doing we saw just
- 2:33Speaker 1: the other day. Were you in Utah?
- 2:35Speaker 2: No, I was here. Oh no, yeah, I just didn't
- 2:37Speaker 2: just on.
- 2:38Speaker 5: The four O five No, no, no, no, it was
- 2:40Speaker 5: on Magnolia.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Oh okay, in the valve.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Yeah, just I don't know. They seemed like they were
- 2:46Speaker 5: like thirties or so.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Okay, Well, if you're an adult and you choose to
- 2:50Speaker 3: do that.
- 2:51Speaker 1: No, I'm talking about kids Easton. I'm talking about like,
- 2:54Speaker 1: let's go for a joy ride.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Oh either way, it's oh yeah, I haven't seen kids
- 2:57Speaker 2: in it.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Like I remember getting in Dad's Candy Apple red Toyota.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Lay down so no one could see us though.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Wait, really, I don't run.
- 3:05Speaker 2: You don't you remember like sitting up just driving.
- 3:08Speaker 5: I remember laying down like this so no one could
- 3:10Speaker 5: see us in the.
- 3:12Speaker 1: In the toyota.
- 3:14Speaker 5: But going to dance. How wild that we have very
- 3:19Speaker 5: different memories of.
- 3:20Speaker 1: It totally because I remember doing it and driving down
- 3:24Speaker 1: thirty ninth into that area of like where Club Dub
- 3:28Speaker 1: was Club Wendie's and they had the snow shack over
- 3:31Speaker 1: by the sunlight.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Whoa, what.
- 3:37Speaker 1: We've got the same households completely different.
- 3:40Speaker 3: This is the Mandela.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Thirty third, but near the sun lofts, No thirty ninth down, Yes,
- 3:48Speaker 1: Club Dub it's where like Excel Excel. Yes, that parking
- 3:52Speaker 1: lot where they had the store. Yes, and it was
- 3:55Speaker 1: the only, the only snow shack like the shape dice
- 4:00Speaker 1: pleases that put cream on your snow cone, like whipped cream.
- 4:06Speaker 1: It was like sweet and condensed.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Milk that sounds so good.
- 4:10Speaker 1: It was so good, and they like invented it. They
- 4:13Speaker 1: invented the sweet condensed milk. Shout out, no shack just
- 4:19Speaker 1: to know, Wow, fancy was it in blue red? You
- 4:24Speaker 1: could get it on anything. I got tiger, but.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Like the snow shack was blue and red. Okay, we're
- 4:31Speaker 2: coming to now. From there. Easton has in the back
- 4:35Speaker 2: of the truck. I can't remember that he.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Has high guy brain. High guy brain ride and on
- 4:40Speaker 1: the regular episode, I can't wait to talk about Friday Night,
- 4:44Speaker 1: I can't speaking of high guy brain. The second place
- 4:48Speaker 1: my mind went to for uh things that are unsafe
- 4:54Speaker 1: is in Lake Powell or or Bear Lake. On the Sentry.
- 5:02Speaker 1: It was a speedboat and it had metal like an
- 5:06Speaker 1: open open bow. And I would sit on my knees,
- 5:10Speaker 1: but standing up, not sitting down like the Titanic hauling
- 5:15Speaker 1: ass just fucking wave after wave. One wrong move, I
- 5:22Speaker 1: flip over and that boat's chopping up young like elementary school.
- 5:31Speaker 1: And we would all do it, all the kids because
- 5:33Speaker 1: the bow was shaped like this, so you had a
- 5:35Speaker 1: bunch of kids, and whoever got the front was like
- 5:38Speaker 1: I wanted the front.
- 5:40Speaker 3: You got the front last time.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Yeah, we did that.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Too, come to think of it, holding onto the front.
- 5:46Speaker 5: And really just going just like sitting on your knees
- 5:49Speaker 5: and then sometimes standing up.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I would never let my child do that.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Which no, No, I also think it's very unsafe thinking
- 5:57Speaker 1: back at that point in time, how many dads we're
- 6:00Speaker 1: cracking Bruskis while driving the boat and pulling you on
- 6:03Speaker 1: the tube.
- 6:04Speaker 2: One right just could smack Indiana any moment when you
- 6:07Speaker 2: fell off.
- 6:07Speaker 1: No, but I just remember, like all the dads like
- 6:10Speaker 1: cracking a bruski and putting it in the cozy or
- 6:13Speaker 1: coozy or whatever.
- 6:15Speaker 3: And what a time coupholder right there on the boat.
- 6:18Speaker 4: It was like, I have so many photos of my
- 6:20Speaker 4: dad drinking his beer driving the boat.
- 6:22Speaker 1: It's terrifying. I know if someone I'm going to take
- 6:26Speaker 1: ocean out on the boat. I knew that there was
- 6:28Speaker 1: a that he was having a beer. I'd be like, no,
- 6:30Speaker 1: you're not. Yeah, those are the things that I think
- 6:33Speaker 1: about where I'm like, were we just exempt from accidents
- 6:37Speaker 1: back then? Because every other day I'm hearing about an accident,
- 6:40Speaker 1: and if one more person tells me shark attacks are rare,
- 6:43Speaker 1: well for them being so rare, I hear about one.
- 6:46Speaker 4: A week and around us, you guys, San Diego, well Florida,
- 6:51Speaker 4: which isn't around.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Us, but close enough for me not to get in.
- 6:54Speaker 1: It's close enough for me to get there in six
- 6:56Speaker 1: hours on a plane, so I do not Yeah, what
- 7:02Speaker 1: are things that your family?
- 7:04Speaker 4: Okay, so I wrote down a couple. I'm not in
- 7:06Speaker 4: the same vein as you, but okay. I feel like
- 7:10Speaker 4: when I was young talking in chat rooms as a
- 7:13Speaker 4: little girl and like my friend, but like my parents
- 7:16Speaker 4: didn't know just like oh, chatroulette, like like chat roulette,
- 7:20Speaker 4: but like actually I wasn't twelve when am I talking.
- 7:22Speaker 4: I was probably like ten or eight, and me and
- 7:26Speaker 4: my friend would just be in a random chat room
- 7:28Speaker 4: like pretending we're old or talking and most likely we
- 7:31Speaker 4: were talking to like old men, but we didn't know that,
- 7:34Speaker 4: and my parents were like what is this And I'd
- 7:36Speaker 4: be like, just a chat room. They didn't know what
- 7:37Speaker 4: that was. They were like a chat okay, chatting.
- 7:40Speaker 5: I remember seeing so many penises on Chatroulette.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Oh my chat chat Lite.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Later, I don't even know what that is.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Chat Roulette was like ten years ago, and I liked Chatrolett.
- 7:51Speaker 5: It's still going on, but like you just go on
- 7:53Speaker 5: to chatroolette dot com and then it just like it's random.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Its just random people that you just start meeting.
- 8:00Speaker 4: But granted there has been some amazing singers found on there.
- 8:03Speaker 4: You just go and they're just like singing, and people
- 8:06Speaker 4: are like damn and they're just like hitting these so's.
- 8:09Speaker 5: It's a video and chat yeah, and that person it
- 8:13Speaker 5: can't be like a it's not like one person's playing
- 8:15Speaker 5: and like a lot of people are watching them. Like
- 8:18Speaker 5: once the person's done, they'll click next and then somebody
- 8:21Speaker 5: else will see that person.
- 8:23Speaker 3: But that's like newer.
- 8:24Speaker 4: Another thing I wrote down was I babysat my little
- 8:28Speaker 4: baby brother at like eleven years old, twelve years old,
- 8:31Speaker 4: and my mom was just like at work and my
- 8:35Speaker 4: little brother was like, one, no, I'm not going and
- 8:38Speaker 4: that was like changing. I was like and my older
- 8:40Speaker 4: brother was there, but like he didn't give a shit.
- 8:42Speaker 3: He'd like go to his friend's house or something.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Good for him.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I think, and I don't know about California, but I believe,
- 8:49Speaker 1: don't quote me. I believe that the legal age to
- 8:53Speaker 1: watch children in like Nevada is twelve. I think twelve,
- 9:00Speaker 1: think still, or maybe it's you can be let you
- 9:02Speaker 1: can leave your kid by themselves at twelve. We should
- 9:07Speaker 1: fact check that. But that seems a little young to me.
- 9:09Speaker 1: That's the sixth grade.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Yeah, well I got my parents made me get CPR certified,
- 9:14Speaker 4: and you could get CPR certified at twelve because so
- 9:17Speaker 4: many twelve year olds were babysitting.
- 9:19Speaker 1: So you were watching mister Bubbs.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Mister Bubbs. For sure.
- 9:22Speaker 4: We would watch the Wiggles on TV. The Wiggles, do
- 9:26Speaker 4: you remember that? Yeah, oh they were so I don't know,
- 9:30Speaker 4: I don't want to say creepy. And then lastly, I put,
- 9:34Speaker 4: this isn't as relatable, but I put riding my horse
- 9:37Speaker 4: to the ice cream shop. So I feel like as
- 9:41Speaker 4: a kid, I was like ten and my parents would
- 9:44Speaker 4: let me take my horse, my friend Jamie take our
- 9:47Speaker 4: other horse, and we would literally ride our horses on
- 9:51Speaker 4: very this.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Is so so many other.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Ride horse right to the local ice cream shop.
- 9:58Speaker 4: But it was like busy streets like cars, and we're
- 10:02Speaker 4: just horsing around up to the ice.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Wow, horsing around literally, I've.
- 10:07Speaker 5: Never heard that term actually literally fucking used and that
- 10:11Speaker 5: is wild.
- 10:12Speaker 2: We were fucking horsing around. That's so true. I've never
- 10:17Speaker 2: actually heard that and put it. Holy shit? Am I high?
- 10:23Speaker 3: Or is that wild? This is wild?
- 10:26Speaker 2: You're fucking horsing around literally?
- 10:33Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 10:33Speaker 1: Wow, we were so young.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Yeah, just horse it around.
- 10:38Speaker 3: This horsing around literally.
- 10:42Speaker 5: I don't know why that was so wild to me,
- 10:44Speaker 5: but that term coming in and like actually coming in.
- 10:47Speaker 2: To term was wild. Yeah, totally because how many times
- 10:50Speaker 2: did that take? Quit horse it around?
- 10:52Speaker 1: That's what I'm thinking about all the time.
- 10:54Speaker 2: And you were actually doing it around.
- 10:56Speaker 5: You should have been yelling at you quite horsing around?
- 10:59Speaker 1: You know what though, That's actually I think something that
- 11:02Speaker 1: was pretty normal back in the day, was it. Yeah,
- 11:05Speaker 1: And you grew up in Finger Lakes or whatever, and
- 11:08Speaker 1: we were in Salt Lake, So I don't know what
- 11:10Speaker 1: it was like to grow up in like an actual
- 11:13Speaker 1: big city. I assume like when I go to New York.
- 11:17Speaker 1: There are times that I see kids, they're probably teenagers
- 11:22Speaker 1: leaving school and going and getting a coffee or whatever.
- 11:25Speaker 1: But I'm talking elementary school in Utah. My mom would
- 11:31Speaker 1: be like, you're gonna walk home from school today, and
- 11:34Speaker 1: it was like.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Okay, I started walking home every day instead of her
- 11:37Speaker 2: giving me a like be home.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Yeah, that's far as a little kid.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Well, elementary school, yeah, I would never know. I would
- 11:47Speaker 1: never allow my child to walk home from school. And
- 11:50Speaker 1: then where the bus dropped us off because we liked
- 11:52Speaker 1: taking the bus. There's something about the bus just wants
- 11:55Speaker 1: to take a bus so broad and like it looks
- 11:59Speaker 1: more fun than it actually.
- 12:00Speaker 2: As Babe, I was about to say, I didn't take
- 12:02Speaker 2: the bus that off.
- 12:03Speaker 1: You didn't, But I loved the bus because my friend
- 12:06Speaker 1: Lydia took the bus. But it dropped us off near
- 12:10Speaker 1: Lydia's home. And then I by myself would walk through
- 12:14Speaker 1: the neighbor like not neighborhood, but it was a neighborhood,
- 12:20Speaker 1: but it also resembled where like when you watch a
- 12:23Speaker 1: twenty twenty episode and they're like little Sammy Sue or whatever.
- 12:27Speaker 1: His body was found in between two houses on this
- 12:32Speaker 1: like piece of land. That's where I was walking through.
- 12:36Speaker 3: You get home, you could have gotten stolen.
- 12:39Speaker 4: And it's always the thing that's like, it's always on
- 12:41Speaker 4: the murder things like just a block away from her house.
- 12:45Speaker 1: And always in a small, safe town where no one
- 12:47Speaker 1: locked their doors. Right, move me to the city.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Did you guys lock your doors?
- 12:54Speaker 4: Because I didn't even never blocked their doors until I
- 12:56Speaker 4: moved to like, uh, until I went to college, and
- 12:59Speaker 4: then I'm like, what do you mean lock your door
- 13:01Speaker 4: with you're talking about.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Your doors, your windows, set the alarm, get the pit
- 13:05Speaker 1: bulls at the front door, ready to go, locked doors,
- 13:10Speaker 1: lock the doors when we were young, but was it
- 13:14Speaker 1: like was it a big deal if you didn't like
- 13:16Speaker 1: the car doors we would leave open. At times it
- 13:19Speaker 1: was a rare occasion. Like let me tell you something
- 13:22Speaker 1: here in LA if one of you needs to get
- 13:25Speaker 1: in the house and it's passed a certain time and
- 13:26Speaker 1: you're out and about, sorry, buddy, you're getting locked out.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Figure it out. You know what.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Happens when you leave car doors unlocked ransacked?
- 13:34Speaker 5: Yeah, but then again it's like, okay, sometimes because my
- 13:39Speaker 5: car's gotten broken into and I've had not here just
- 13:42Speaker 5: in Utah. And it's either they break the window or
- 13:46Speaker 5: they open the door, so you get jacked and your car.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Door or your window's broken. So sometimes it's better.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Make it easy for them.
- 13:55Speaker 2: It open easy for a chore, easy.
- 13:59Speaker 4: For you unless you see your car speeding down the
- 14:01Speaker 4: street because they wired started it up.
- 14:04Speaker 2: That's when you bite your lip and just go take
- 14:07Speaker 2: the loss.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Yeah, you're like, you know what, I respect how much
- 14:10Speaker 1: effort they put it.
- 14:11Speaker 2: You need it jacking.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Honestly, at this point, I'm ready for someone to jack
- 14:15Speaker 4: the Patriot because she's giving me such bad times.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Okay, No, I'm not ready.
- 14:20Speaker 4: She's my girl, but she is just really being difficult
- 14:22Speaker 4: with all right, No, I love her.
- 14:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna take us down a rabbit mechanical ship, crazy one, Dewey,
- 14:32Speaker 1: I can't wait. Okay, tell me car surfing? Car surfing?
- 14:36Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, the snow.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Is what I'm assuming?
- 14:39Speaker 2: Did you know that is true? But I wouldn't I would,
- 14:42Speaker 2: all right, I would probably let my kid do it.
- 14:44Speaker 2: You gotta I did.
- 14:46Speaker 1: You form a full sentence?
- 14:48Speaker 2: Please? Did you ever car surfing on concrete? No snow? Yes.
- 14:52Speaker 5: Back in the day, we would go to Skyline High
- 14:54Speaker 5: School and like just right after its snow and you
- 14:56Speaker 5: just fucking go like in a loop and you'd hold
- 14:59Speaker 5: onto a rope and on like a snowboard with no
- 15:01Speaker 5: wheels or trucks, so you just slide around.
- 15:03Speaker 3: My dad.
- 15:04Speaker 2: But I did that when like, I did this when I.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Was reattached to a car though.
- 15:08Speaker 4: Yeah, well my dad and uncle just used to hold
- 15:10Speaker 4: onto the back of a car and then like someone
- 15:12Speaker 4: my other uncle would drive and they would be like
- 15:14Speaker 4: like skiing on their shoes.
- 15:17Speaker 2: And I I did it when I was younger with.
- 15:21Speaker 5: Down Dylan Doherty's like hill and his yeah, well, just
- 15:25Speaker 5: to get some speed and then his brother pulled us.
- 15:28Speaker 5: But we were young, but we were safe. He wasn't
- 15:30Speaker 5: an asshole. He's a good guy, damn.
- 15:32Speaker 2: But I wouldn't. I'd let my kid do that. You
- 15:34Speaker 2: gotta learn.
- 15:35Speaker 1: You one wrong you hit a rock and your face
- 15:38Speaker 1: is in the see and that's where my mind goes, Yeah,
- 15:42Speaker 1: one wrong move and you're.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Done for Well how fast are you going in your
- 15:48Speaker 2: I wouldn't.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I wouldn't do it period.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Yeah, oh see, I would and let my kids do it.
- 15:53Speaker 2: You gotta have fun. I can't just say nope, nothing
- 15:55Speaker 2: nothing fun. Because everything fun can get your hurt.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I'm currently trying to make Ocean terrified of the ocean.
- 16:02Speaker 2: She's already terrified of it.
- 16:04Speaker 1: She's like, there are shocks in that, and I go
- 16:06Speaker 1: big ones that eat you, eat you, they'll bite you.
- 16:12Speaker 3: With her name, Ocean terrified of it.
- 16:14Speaker 1: We only admire. We know that it's powerful and scar okay.
- 16:25Speaker 1: But just because if I named a baby Sky, which
- 16:29Speaker 1: by the way, is not the name, not the name okay, Sky,
- 16:33Speaker 1: what do I need to send you outer space to
- 16:36Speaker 1: like make it legit? How could you name her sky
- 16:40Speaker 1: if she doesn't even want to venture into the sky.
- 16:43Speaker 1: It's just because I named her Ocean doesn't mean I
- 16:46Speaker 1: want her out in those streets getting eaten by a shark.
- 16:49Speaker 1: That is happening once a week, by the way that
- 16:51Speaker 1: I said it at the beginning of the pod, once
- 16:53Speaker 1: a week.
- 16:54Speaker 3: She's reminding you, Mom may be.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Sending the same ones.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I think mom.
- 17:00Speaker 5: I think Mom sends the same one a couple of
- 17:03Speaker 5: times from different angles.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Well, because one said del mar and then the other
- 17:06Speaker 1: one said San Diego, and I was like, I'm pretty
- 17:07Speaker 1: sure that's the same one. The same I think it was.
- 17:11Speaker 4: But that's very smart, because especially if we're going to
- 17:13Speaker 4: be in like north Shore every year, those waves you
- 17:15Speaker 4: go up to your ankles, they'll snatch you out.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I'm not going in the water there, I'm saying.
- 17:20Speaker 4: If she did, though, she loved the ocean and just
- 17:22Speaker 4: went up to like even her knees, they would those
- 17:25Speaker 4: waves are so powerful.
- 17:27Speaker 1: No, just admire, just admire, admire. Yeah, what's what's the
- 17:31Speaker 1: next one?
- 17:32Speaker 3: Ooh, I did this?
- 17:34Speaker 4: Oh my god, rode down the hill in a radio
- 17:37Speaker 4: flyer wagon.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Did you guys have one of those? The red wine?
- 17:41Speaker 2: And then they had like the cattle.
- 17:43Speaker 4: That is scary, but if you steer too sharp, you
- 17:45Speaker 4: flip and you're going down concrete.
- 17:48Speaker 5: Okay, we did that in our just in our driveway,
- 17:52Speaker 5: but our hill wasn't that big.
- 17:55Speaker 2: No, I was afraid to do that.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Well, I had a run in junior high that they
- 18:03Speaker 1: were I don't believe it was a wagon. I think
- 18:05Speaker 1: they were doing it on a skateboard, if I if
- 18:08Speaker 1: I remember correctly, it was a skateboard and they put
- 18:10Speaker 1: a box on the skateboard, sat in it. They decided
- 18:13Speaker 1: to start going backwards, and my everyone made it down safely.
- 18:19Speaker 1: The last one to go kind of veered into a
- 18:23Speaker 1: parked car, is back wrapped around paralyzed.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Mm hmm, yep.
- 18:28Speaker 4: A lot of that, those accidents on the lake too
- 18:31Speaker 4: where I grew up.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Yeah, he was the homie that was that happened in
- 18:34Speaker 1: junior high. We were going into high school. I took
- 18:37Speaker 1: him to winter formal and I got down on all
- 18:41Speaker 1: fours and he put his legs on my back, crossed
- 18:45Speaker 1: like he was kicking back.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Is really cute.
- 18:51Speaker 1: And I made this face, Ah, that's and made it.
- 18:55Speaker 1: And I was way too tan, way too.
- 18:59Speaker 2: She was orange, were up?
- 19:00Speaker 3: I remember that orange?
- 19:01Speaker 2: Did you beds? No? Never?
- 19:06Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 19:06Speaker 2: No.
- 19:07Speaker 1: I went in a tanning bed one time in the
- 19:09Speaker 1: seventh grade and got the worst rash all over my
- 19:12Speaker 1: chest and neck that I was like, I'm never going
- 19:15Speaker 1: back in there. I think I'm having an allergic reaction.
- 19:18Speaker 1: And so I only did spray tan, but me and
- 19:21Speaker 1: my friends.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Who were didn't you do the rubbing?
- 19:24Speaker 1: No, Jurgens was in junior high. Once I high school,
- 19:29Speaker 1: I elevated to the actual spray tan lady. They were
- 19:34Speaker 1: in the dance parking lot and.
- 19:36Speaker 2: You just got sprayed in the dance parking lot.
- 19:39Speaker 1: No, that strip center, Oh that makes sense.
- 19:43Speaker 5: I was like, I saw anybody just spray tanning in
- 19:46Speaker 5: the dance parking.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Lots, I'm going to need you to pull your head
- 19:49Speaker 1: from the clouds.
- 19:52Speaker 2: But didn't it. I don't know.
- 19:53Speaker 1: I thought you were just getting it's fine, you're literal today.
- 19:57Speaker 1: It's fine in that strip center. And because I was
- 20:00Speaker 1: a sophomore and my friends were seniors, I just did
- 20:06Speaker 1: I just listened to what they said. They've been to
- 20:07Speaker 1: a million and one dances. They said you have to
- 20:10Speaker 1: go three days in a row and don't bathe. And
- 20:14Speaker 1: I'm like, we're gonna stink, and they were like, we've
- 20:16Speaker 1: got it covered. Like the boys know before the dance,
- 20:20Speaker 1: there's gonna be a period of like, don't kiss me,
- 20:23Speaker 1: don't smell me. They were sexually active at the time.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I don't think I was at the time, Okay, but
- 20:29Speaker 1: we went to school stanky bitches with three layers of
- 20:33Speaker 1: spray tann on, and by the time it was time
- 20:35Speaker 1: to bathe on Saturday for the school dance, we were orange.
- 20:44Speaker 3: A photo. Do you think you have one? Releasa it does.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sure I could find it somewhere.
- 20:48Speaker 4: I mean, surely you were also sitting on like the
- 20:50Speaker 4: lunch seats and stuff, and you were leaving behind residue.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I'm sure we were residuing it up toilets. Yeah, oh
- 20:56Speaker 1: for sure, the toilets.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:58Speaker 1: And then I did my hair and ringlets, but didn't
- 21:00Speaker 1: rushed them out, so it was just tiny, little, horrible
- 21:03Speaker 1: noodle hair.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Oh that's how I did it for Katilian Damn.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Oh yucky, yucky, so yuck. Okay.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Next, Oh my god, this one I've never done in
- 21:15Speaker 4: Girl I hope or boy, I hope you're okay. Johnny
- 21:19Speaker 4: got in the clothes dryer and shut the door behind
- 21:21Speaker 4: me crying, laughing face.
- 21:22Speaker 3: God knows why, Johnny. That could have been a disaster.
- 21:26Speaker 1: He's like Stuart Little.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Did Stuart do that?
- 21:29Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 21:29Speaker 1: But did he get roasted? No? He went into the
- 21:33Speaker 1: lawn into the washer instead, but the cat closed him
- 21:35Speaker 1: in there, and.
- 21:37Speaker 2: He did and he started it.
- 21:38Speaker 1: He went onto the rent cycle and did he drown?
- 21:42Speaker 3: And that's how the movie ends.
- 21:43Speaker 1: No, have you never seen Stuart Little?
- 21:46Speaker 3: Isn't there like twelve?
- 21:47Speaker 1: I'm talking about the og one?
- 21:49Speaker 2: Okay?
- 21:49Speaker 1: No, the mom comes in and saves him. He falls
- 21:52Speaker 1: out of the the U the washer. That could have
- 21:56Speaker 1: happened to that kid. How did he.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Fit Johnny, I don't he was obviously wash. That is
- 22:02Speaker 4: so scary to me. Yeah, very that actually is making
- 22:06Speaker 4: my heart beat fast.
- 22:08Speaker 1: No, I don't think you can get out.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I get claustrophobic.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Yes, same same.
- 22:13Speaker 1: But don't you ever wonder what possesses like what would
- 22:17Speaker 1: make you go, I'm gonna.
- 22:18Speaker 4: Get in there and shut the door, just like fun
- 22:20Speaker 4: because I used to do Like we had a laundry
- 22:23Speaker 4: shoot in our first house that I used to My
- 22:26Speaker 4: brother would put a bunch of blankets on the bottom
- 22:28Speaker 4: and I was little. My parents were gone, I don't know,
- 22:32Speaker 4: or not watching us, and I would jump through the
- 22:34Speaker 4: chute and land in the blanket.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Like a little torpedo.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Yeah. And it's like, I mean, it wasn't.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Like was it like dead straight or just like a
- 22:42Speaker 2: little slide.
- 22:42Speaker 3: It was a little slide.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sure it was tiny.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Yeah, but it was small. Like I remember having to
- 22:48Speaker 3: put my arms up.
- 22:49Speaker 1: What could you imagine doing that? Now? I the thought
- 22:53Speaker 1: of you putting me into a tiny space? Like did
- 22:58Speaker 1: you ever watch Poseidon?
- 23:00Speaker 3: No?
- 23:02Speaker 1: Do you remember Posidon easton the rogue wave that hits
- 23:06Speaker 1: the boat and flips it and they have to crawl
- 23:10Speaker 1: into like an air duct and it's.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Like an air pocket or air duct, you know, like.
- 23:15Speaker 1: The little tiny Oh my god no, and then they
- 23:18Speaker 1: get there and there's like a bar that they can't
- 23:21Speaker 1: get through and they're all stuck in there being and
- 23:24Speaker 1: the water's coming. Oh no, that's like me my biggest nightmare,
- 23:31Speaker 1: like being buried.
- 23:32Speaker 2: I might have to watch beside.
- 23:34Speaker 1: It's so good.
- 23:34Speaker 3: I don't.
- 23:35Speaker 1: I don't love that either. But we're happy that that
- 23:38Speaker 1: guy didn't get.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Roasted to death.
- 23:40Speaker 4: Yeah, he's still existing, and clearly he got out, I hope.
- 23:44Speaker 3: So maybe a.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Lot of question yeah, like how long would he.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Know unless unless he was like, hey mom, I'm gonna
- 23:51Speaker 1: go close myself in the dry and she was like
- 23:53Speaker 1: all right, I'll set the timer and then she comes
- 23:55Speaker 1: and gets him side. Well, yeah, to be like just
- 23:59Speaker 1: to know, like, I don't want to forget john they're
- 24:03Speaker 1: not turning it on.
- 24:04Speaker 2: It's just a little turkey.
- 24:06Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I can't. I can't mess with you today.
- 24:09Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 24:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I know he's still living. So Johnny update us.
- 24:15Speaker 4: Did it ever get turned on? And if so, how
- 24:17Speaker 4: many roles did you experience before.
- 24:20Speaker 3: The door opened?
- 24:21Speaker 4: Oh my god, Oh this is so common, Like we
- 24:25Speaker 4: all did it, being outside all day without mom knowing
- 24:29Speaker 4: where I was and no phones.
- 24:32Speaker 3: That was just so classic.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Could you imagine Ocean going out with her friends no
- 24:36Speaker 2: phone now.
- 24:36Speaker 4: Like walking around the neighborhood riding her bike eight years old,
- 24:40Speaker 4: six years old?
- 24:41Speaker 1: You're you're wilin if you think Ocean's leaving the gates
- 24:45Speaker 1: on a bike by herself.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Do people still do this? I noticed though in upstate
- 24:50Speaker 3: New York.
- 24:50Speaker 4: There's still a lot of neighborhoods well like kids riding
- 24:54Speaker 4: their bike and they're little. But I think maybe it's
- 24:57Speaker 4: not just like all around the neighborhood. I think it's
- 25:00Speaker 4: maybe more localized because I used to go to I
- 25:04Speaker 4: won't say their last names, but I used to go
- 25:06Speaker 4: to my friend's house and it was like it was
- 25:08Speaker 4: probably a good mile on my bike, and I wouldn't
- 25:10Speaker 4: come home until like eight pm.
- 25:11Speaker 3: It was dark.
- 25:13Speaker 1: I think the furthest we ever walked was to the ressens.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Did you walk? Did you ever walk further than that?
- 25:19Speaker 1: Did you call Mom when you got there?
- 25:22Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 25:23Speaker 3: Because I had a phone.
- 25:24Speaker 1: I got a phone in the fourth grade.
- 25:27Speaker 4: We get a phone until sixth grade. And I thought
- 25:29Speaker 4: I was very early getting a phone.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Well, sixth grade is early. I the only reason I
- 25:34Speaker 1: think I got mine early was because everybody got phones
- 25:38Speaker 1: in the fourth grade. So my mom was like, well,
- 25:39Speaker 1: I guess I have to get her one. Did you
- 25:41Speaker 1: have a brick No, it looked you know, the little
- 25:45Speaker 1: like the little ones. Yeah, that was mine. But it
- 25:48Speaker 1: was shaped like this was shaped like a peanut.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Oh, a pe nut.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it was around rather than the typical like this,
- 25:59Speaker 1: that's what my look remember. And you'd play the snake game, yes, yeah,
- 26:04Speaker 1: that was the difference.
- 26:05Speaker 2: I had that one with the Snake game. Yeah.
- 26:08Speaker 1: And then I remember getting a flip phone for Christmas.
- 26:11Speaker 1: But other people got a flip phone for Christmas, and
- 26:13Speaker 1: we went to Candas's house and all showed each other
- 26:16Speaker 1: our phones, and I was really jealous of one girl's phone,
- 26:19Speaker 1: so I talked about it.
- 26:23Speaker 2: What phone was it?
- 26:24Speaker 1: Hers was cute and small, and Mom got me this
- 26:27Speaker 1: like motor La, like it was.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Getting the big old motorolas. I was like, can I
- 26:35Speaker 2: get that one? And she was like this Motorola was
- 26:38Speaker 2: all right?
- 26:41Speaker 3: Does it still exists? Sponsor the podcast? If you sponsored.
- 26:45Speaker 5: By motor I remember that I did I remember getting
- 26:48Speaker 5: my first phone, flip phone, and I wake up just
- 26:52Speaker 5: to like tibby chewing on it. Oh no, I just
- 26:58Speaker 5: had like do you remember it had been light the
- 27:00Speaker 5: white or the light that would like light up when
- 27:03Speaker 5: it was getting phone calls in it.
- 27:04Speaker 1: I loved that phone. That's little silver one and.
- 27:07Speaker 3: The phone survive with a dog that chewed on it.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I wake up, I taken that up, I said it down.
- 27:13Speaker 2: I was.
- 27:15Speaker 1: When you turned it on and we go hello, Moto, Hello,
- 27:20Speaker 1: that's what that's from. Then I graduated to the sidekick anyway.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Go through dogs, go through washes.
- 27:27Speaker 4: Wow, bring back the motor rola Today's podcast sponsored by Motorola.
- 27:34Speaker 4: Did you guys ever, Oh my god?
- 27:37Speaker 1: Do this?
- 27:38Speaker 4: So I never did this. I feel like we're a
- 27:40Speaker 4: little young for this. But went into the gas station
- 27:43Speaker 4: to get my mom a pack of cigarettes. The cashier
- 27:46Speaker 4: would just wave to my mom outside.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I know I've never done that.
- 27:50Speaker 3: No, well, our moms didn't smoke cigarettes.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Well I don't think that matters. You can go in
- 27:54Speaker 1: and buy a pack of gum too. But what do
- 27:57Speaker 1: you mean, like you just her mom?
- 27:59Speaker 4: So as a kid, you couldn't be a six year
- 28:01Speaker 4: old seven year old, eight year old whatever kid these
- 28:03Speaker 4: days and go in.
- 28:04Speaker 3: And be like she would go yeah.
- 28:06Speaker 1: I thought that the weird part was like her the cashier,
- 28:09Speaker 1: like knowing her mom, Like we were in such a
- 28:11Speaker 1: small town. Oh no, no, that would never happen.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Ever, And the cashier would just be like okay, like
- 28:16Speaker 3: wave to the mom there for me.
- 28:19Speaker 1: I don't know that seems like a small town thing.
- 28:20Speaker 3: It might still happen, you think.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I think you go like places that are little tiny,
- 28:26Speaker 1: like maybe Beaver, Utah Beaver, Beaver, beaver, it's.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Him in the morning.
- 28:31Speaker 4: Beaver first. She's still a whore. She greets a mom,
- 28:40Speaker 4: She's still a whore. They've been married twenty years or something.
- 28:43Speaker 2: She would she greets some beaver first.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Beaver first, Like, mom, you're not an alcoholic, well only
- 28:49Speaker 1: because I've never had a drink.
- 28:52Speaker 3: She has my favorite the bangs. She's painting my nona
- 28:57Speaker 3: or something.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Oh so funny. She is good.
- 29:02Speaker 4: I mean, there's still so many someone put talk to
- 29:06Speaker 4: people that it's a throwback thing to do.
- 29:09Speaker 5: I don't think I let my like Cliff jump as
- 29:13Speaker 5: young as I did, or you did, like in like Powell.
- 29:16Speaker 2: I don't think that was scary.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I wouldn't either, because you never know, like the
- 29:21Speaker 4: the levels of the water.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Yeah, and you you cannot trust that, you know, Like
- 29:27Speaker 1: I remember.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Like a miss jump hitting your back.
- 29:30Speaker 3: Or something hitting the hack.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Did jump off of cliffs.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Crazy shit.
- 29:36Speaker 1: That's why very young, and we would put our life
- 29:40Speaker 1: jackets on diaper style. Do you remember that? For that
- 29:44Speaker 1: could have been dangerous and we would jump in. No,
- 29:46Speaker 1: the whole thing was dangerous. I would never think of you.
- 29:49Speaker 1: I would assume watching us.
- 29:51Speaker 2: No, there was no way. Well Dad, where was mom.
- 29:54Speaker 1: In the boat watching sunbathing?
- 29:57Speaker 2: Wait?
- 29:58Speaker 1: What did you say?
- 29:58Speaker 3: Life jacket was to float to the top.
- 30:01Speaker 4: So I would assume if you put it on diaper style,
- 30:03Speaker 4: if you're too light as a kid, you could drown
- 30:05Speaker 4: that way.
- 30:06Speaker 3: And it stuck on you.
- 30:08Speaker 1: You're just like, no, it's terrifying, absolutely terrifying. And the
- 30:12Speaker 1: gauge on the boat when we got the new speedboat,
- 30:16Speaker 1: like do you remember that time? This was kind of
- 30:19Speaker 1: Dad's fault. It tells you how deep the water is.
- 30:23Speaker 1: But again technology, I don't trust it. But we were
- 30:28Speaker 1: totally fine depth wise. Dad is falling ass the last
- 30:33Speaker 1: day and we just hit the biggest rock it was
- 30:43Speaker 1: oh gnarly the fact that none of us flew out
- 30:47Speaker 1: of the boat.
- 30:47Speaker 2: I just remember.
- 30:49Speaker 3: What was the boat?
- 30:51Speaker 4: Just absolutely uh, I mean it's like the Titanic.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Well, it was a little putterer as we got back
- 30:58Speaker 1: into what's that area marina? The marina, and then when
- 31:03Speaker 1: we pulled the boat out, I mean the propeller was
- 31:05Speaker 1: fucked up, like oh.
- 31:07Speaker 2: No, we had to get like a whole new to
- 31:10Speaker 2: get a whole new Yeah, motori and bottom half of the.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Motors, and my dad with his row literally rose colored
- 31:17Speaker 1: glasses and probably a beer.
- 31:22Speaker 2: It was probably a solo cup.
- 31:24Speaker 1: I bet it was a solo cup.
- 31:25Speaker 3: And none of you flew off.
- 31:27Speaker 2: No, but don't you remember the boat just going like
- 31:31Speaker 2: of course something immediately?
- 31:33Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and it was obviously something very strong, like a.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Rock that is wild, did you guys?
- 31:41Speaker 4: Oh, not wearing a bicycle helmet on my bicycle. I
- 31:47Speaker 4: always got a new bike with a helmet that matched,
- 31:50Speaker 4: but I never wore the helmet.
- 31:52Speaker 1: I don't think I wore the helmet either, and my.
- 31:54Speaker 4: Mom would always try and be like, it's a cute
- 31:56Speaker 4: new helmet. Never I didn't wear a helmet. Twelve years old,
- 31:59Speaker 4: riding my dirt bike.
- 32:01Speaker 1: And I was joking, that's wild because even on like
- 32:04Speaker 1: the four wheelers we may have, we may have ridden
- 32:11Speaker 1: on the bows of the boats, but we always wore
- 32:14Speaker 1: a helmet.
- 32:14Speaker 3: We always wore a helmet. That's good, even on your bikes.
- 32:17Speaker 1: The helmet freaks me out, though, Why because again I
- 32:20Speaker 1: always go back to one wrong move. And can I
- 32:22Speaker 1: tell you my daughter? My daughter was at the other
- 32:27Speaker 1: house again, accidents happened, just like when they told me
- 32:31Speaker 1: that this happened. I was like, accidents happened, but she
- 32:35Speaker 1: was riding her bike.
- 32:37Speaker 2: And a helmet on.
- 32:38Speaker 1: I don't even know that it would have helped. I
- 32:40Speaker 1: don't know that it would have helped. She tells me
- 32:43Speaker 1: that she didn't have a helmet on.
- 32:44Speaker 2: I have. I assume she did.
- 32:48Speaker 1: She probably, I'm sure she did. But she fell off
- 32:51Speaker 1: of her bike because she wouldn't put her dolly down
- 32:54Speaker 1: so she wasn't stable. Falls on her face gets a
- 32:58Speaker 1: huge fat lip. When I look at her, the tops
- 33:01Speaker 1: of her gums and remember we're teeth people like I
- 33:05Speaker 1: come from a long line of dentists and orthodontist teeth. Yeah,
- 33:10Speaker 1: welcome to Utah. But her gums were like bloody and
- 33:13Speaker 1: a little messed up. I was nervous. Now the teeth.
- 33:18Speaker 1: We had to go to the dentist because I looked
- 33:19Speaker 1: at her a few days ago and I said, those
- 33:22Speaker 1: teeth are turning a color. They're not white anymore. And
- 33:26Speaker 1: she has the cutest little teeth. Thank god. We get
- 33:30Speaker 1: to the dentist, the most fabulous dentist. She was so
- 33:32Speaker 1: cute with Ocean. Ocean's terrified of doctor. She wants nothing
- 33:35Speaker 1: to do with them. It is a production anytime I
- 33:38Speaker 1: take her to do anything like this. This dentist was
- 33:42Speaker 1: absolutely fantastic with her. Thank god, there was no damage
- 33:46Speaker 1: to the root. But she said, obviously you can see
- 33:50Speaker 1: that when there is damage like that, a trauma where
- 33:52Speaker 1: she probably hit her mouth, the nerve inside of the
- 33:56Speaker 1: tooth can bleed. It can sometimes as a yellow effect,
- 34:01Speaker 1: or it can cause a purple effect, which can turn
- 34:05Speaker 1: the teeth to When you look at them, they're looking
- 34:07Speaker 1: a little it sounds so a little gray, okay, which
- 34:10Speaker 1: is what happened to Ocean. She goes, the color will
- 34:13Speaker 1: likely not come back. She's like, but the focus on
- 34:17Speaker 1: the good news. These are baby teeth. When her grown
- 34:19Speaker 1: adult teeth come in they're gonna be fine.
- 34:21Speaker 3: Good.
- 34:22Speaker 2: But when I.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Called the dentist and told them that she had fallen,
- 34:26Speaker 1: and they said, are the teeth changing color? And I said, yes,
- 34:30Speaker 1: she goes ooh, I don't want to make an appointment.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I want you to bring her in right now.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Like it was like you do yes, is there something
- 34:38Speaker 3: you can do to stop that?
- 34:39Speaker 4: Or no?
- 34:40Speaker 1: Like you discolouration?
- 34:41Speaker 4: Yes, like could you ice it or something immediately like
- 34:45Speaker 4: say someone's no, it's just.
- 34:46Speaker 1: No, it's inside of the tooth. You just have to
- 34:49Speaker 1: pray that there's no damage to the nerve. But the
- 34:53Speaker 1: reason I say this is I'm like just looking at
- 34:56Speaker 1: the damage that was done her falling off of a bike,
- 34:59Speaker 1: which you know, you know a mouth. I can take
- 35:01Speaker 1: you in and you know, we can have some cosmetic
- 35:04Speaker 1: stuff done if you're insecure about it. Let's say it
- 35:06Speaker 1: was worse than what the dentist said. If that can happen,
- 35:12Speaker 1: think about what could happen if you didn't have a
- 35:14Speaker 1: helmet on. Literally, one wrong move you smack your head
- 35:19Speaker 1: in a certain way. Yeah, it's scary. I understand where
- 35:25Speaker 1: letting go because I have some friends who are parents
- 35:28Speaker 1: who are very overly protective of their kids, and I
- 35:32Speaker 1: kind of get it. You want to like wrap them
- 35:35Speaker 1: in bubble wrap. So there's a long winded story too,
- 35:39Speaker 1: No helmet.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Should I read a few that were in that were
- 35:43Speaker 4: in the article or no?
- 35:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to hear Okay.
- 35:46Speaker 4: So number one was I played with my friends on
- 35:50Speaker 4: construction sites after the workers were gone. From the ages
- 35:53Speaker 4: of eight to ten. They built a bunch of new
- 35:55Speaker 4: homes in my neighborhood. We had so much fun playing
- 35:58Speaker 4: in people's houses when they were just wooden frames.
- 36:00Speaker 3: So dangerous.
- 36:01Speaker 1: We used to do that too, and it is very dangerous.
- 36:03Speaker 4: Nails nail guns, Oh my god, horrible. My grandpa was
- 36:10Speaker 4: helping build our house and he nail gunned. I remember
- 36:13Speaker 4: being there and he nail gunned his hand and I
- 36:15Speaker 4: remember he was like calling for someone, just casually, like
- 36:19Speaker 4: his hand was nailed.
- 36:21Speaker 1: I would have been passed down.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:28Speaker 1: What else? Oh?
- 36:31Speaker 4: There was a swimming hole near our Alabama homet in
- 36:34Speaker 4: a creek. In order to use the hole, you had
- 36:36Speaker 4: to throw a couple of large rocks into it, which
- 36:38Speaker 4: caused the water moccasins to run out of the water
- 36:42Speaker 4: and into the woods. We would then swim swim in there.
- 36:44Speaker 1: What isca.
- 36:45Speaker 4: I just was talking to someone about this water moccasin,
- 36:48Speaker 4: because over the weekend I was swimming in a place
- 36:51Speaker 4: known for water moccasins. They're snakes, water snakes, and they
- 36:55Speaker 4: are horrific the way they sprint at you, the way
- 37:00Speaker 4: they slide they move across the water.
- 37:02Speaker 3: And I think many of them are poisonous. What horror.
- 37:06Speaker 1: And you think that just because I threw a few
- 37:08Speaker 1: pebbles in there, you got them all out. No, well,
- 37:10Speaker 1: clearly lucky. That's terrifying.
- 37:14Speaker 3: They were big in Tennessee.
- 37:15Speaker 4: We would when we would go on the boat in
- 37:17Speaker 4: the lake, we'd always have to watch and there they'd
- 37:20Speaker 4: be like water moccasin and you'd see this thing just
- 37:22Speaker 4: hauling across the water.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Would you hit it?
- 37:24Speaker 3: No, everybody had to jump out of the bay and
- 37:26Speaker 3: into the boat.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Like.
- 37:28Speaker 3: They're horrifying. They look don't even google them.
- 37:31Speaker 2: I just did.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:33Speaker 1: How long do you think they are there?
- 37:35Speaker 3: I mean they can get so big.
- 37:36Speaker 4: Oh, they look like in their heads poke out, they
- 37:40Speaker 4: like raise up, so it just looks like a head
- 37:42Speaker 4: coming towards you.
- 37:43Speaker 3: Oh, they're so scary.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Wait, is it called a cotton mouth?
- 37:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a it's a type of cotton mouth snake.
- 37:50Speaker 3: I believe.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Are you joking? This is horrible?
- 37:52Speaker 3: Now they're horrifying.
- 37:54Speaker 2: No, I hate snakes.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Two okay, what's another one?
- 37:58Speaker 2: Okay?
- 37:58Speaker 1: This is a.
- 37:59Speaker 4: Shared one that I actually saw it from a lot
- 38:01Speaker 4: of listeners. We made homemade fireworks. What yeah, I wouldn't
- 38:05Speaker 4: even know how homemade fireworks? And also Roman candle wars
- 38:09Speaker 4: do you know what those are?
- 38:10Speaker 2: No shot each other with it.
- 38:12Speaker 3: It is a firework that is so dangerous.
- 38:14Speaker 5: But we used to Yeah we did that too. You
- 38:16Speaker 5: light it and then just aim it at your buddies.
- 38:18Speaker 4: And start shooting, and it's like fireballs and it's like yeah,
- 38:23Speaker 4: like God forbid one hits your eye.
- 38:25Speaker 2: That's horrifying. I know.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Do you guys remember the passout game?
- 38:29Speaker 2: No? No pass out?
- 38:30Speaker 3: I don't love this.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Someone would hold you against the wall like until you
- 38:33Speaker 1: passed out.
- 38:35Speaker 2: What I do remember that? I also remember it.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Are you kidding?
- 38:40Speaker 2: No?
- 38:40Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 38:40Speaker 3: I need to go to jail. Who did that to you?
- 38:42Speaker 1: I never allowed anyone.
- 38:43Speaker 3: To do it?
- 38:44Speaker 5: So it was another one, and I can't remember, but
- 38:46Speaker 5: like you'd lift your homie up.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Yeah, and then do what was that.
- 38:51Speaker 3: Was that the pass out game.
- 38:53Speaker 2: I did not like that, but I can't remember. What.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Did you ever super glue your hands to your friend's hand?
- 38:59Speaker 2: No, we stuck there.
- 39:01Speaker 3: No, that's hilarious.
- 39:03Speaker 5: Did you ever just super glue your hand and then
- 39:05Speaker 5: just let it dry and then peel it?
- 39:06Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's elma.
- 39:08Speaker 4: Did you guys ever stick your arms in a in
- 39:11Speaker 4: a narrow door.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Way and press and press and then oh yeah, I
- 39:15Speaker 1: like that floating?
- 39:18Speaker 3: Yes, okay, that was so fun. Oh this is a
- 39:21Speaker 3: good one.
- 39:22Speaker 4: Delivering newspapers and collecting the money. Eleven to fifteen years old,
- 39:26Speaker 4: waking up at four thirty am daily, sitting on a
- 39:29Speaker 4: corner alone and riding a bike around the neighborhood trying
- 39:33Speaker 4: to throw newspapers into people's porches.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Then we went to every house collecting the money.
- 39:39Speaker 4: We definitely had encounters with what we considered to be
- 39:42Speaker 4: weird people. Now they'd be considered very creepy. I think
- 39:47Speaker 4: about my own kids telling them to wake up and
- 39:49Speaker 4: do that, and that would just be very irresponsible.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Before school.
- 39:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that is that how we got our newspapers.
- 39:58Speaker 4: In a lot of neighborhoods, we had a newspaper delivery car.
- 40:01Speaker 1: I think, yeah, did we get newspaper? Oh yeah, and
- 40:05Speaker 1: like the in the orange.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and it was just like a random guy he
- 40:09Speaker 2: came into a car and you just throw it.
- 40:11Speaker 4: And your dad or mom would always like walk down
- 40:14Speaker 4: the long driveway in their robe. Not everyonce, but mine would,
- 40:17Speaker 4: and I'd like look out and see my mom.
- 40:19Speaker 1: With, Hey, they don't put that in the movies for nothing, No,
- 40:22Speaker 1: they sure don't. They don't. That was so fun. I
- 40:26Speaker 1: know what newspapers just the whole thing of like hearing
- 40:29Speaker 1: what people like used to do that they would never
- 40:34Speaker 1: let their kids do now, or they go what were
- 40:37Speaker 1: my parents thinking?
- 40:39Speaker 4: What do you guys think we're doing now with kids
- 40:41Speaker 4: that in thirty years were going to be like social media?
- 40:44Speaker 3: I cannot believe we allowed.
- 40:46Speaker 1: That getting social media at a young age. Okay, and
- 40:50Speaker 1: a lot of screen time.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's the wall that will hit, but
- 40:54Speaker 2: we don't know yet.
- 40:55Speaker 4: I kind of think eating meat and I know people
- 40:58Speaker 4: are gonna come for me for this thinking like I
- 41:01Speaker 4: think maybe a hundred years are going to be like, yeah,
- 41:03Speaker 4: you know those beautiful like beings, people like ate those
- 41:06Speaker 4: and fed those.
- 41:07Speaker 1: I don't think that people are going to come for you.
- 41:09Speaker 1: That's one of those things where it just depends on
- 41:11Speaker 1: which side do land on. Right.
- 41:12Speaker 4: I eat meat, by the way, you guys, I'm trying
- 41:14Speaker 4: not to eat as much, but I think that's a
- 41:16Speaker 4: good thing.
- 41:17Speaker 5: You don't need a piece of meat every day, but
- 41:19Speaker 5: you could use a piece of meat once a week.
- 41:21Speaker 2: It's good for your sash. That's what you need. That's
- 41:24Speaker 2: how I look at it.
- 41:26Speaker 1: I don't love meat when I am pregnant, though, and
- 41:29Speaker 1: I talked about this on Amazon Live. I always know,
- 41:33Speaker 1: always the two times I've been pregnant. The reason I
- 41:37Speaker 1: knew that I was pregnant this round, even before taking
- 41:41Speaker 1: the test at two weeks, was because I could not
- 41:45Speaker 1: stop thinking about slabs of meat, which never happens to me.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Like I never think I want to go to a
- 41:54Speaker 1: restaurant and look, you know, I'm like the appetizer person, right,
- 41:59Speaker 1: I'm like, ooh, the devil days, the art choke, the
- 42:03Speaker 1: hummus platter.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Oh my girls.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Really you know?
- 42:08Speaker 1: But can I tell you there was stinky that day.
- 42:11Speaker 3: I think it was homemade.
- 42:12Speaker 1: It must have been, because I love But just because
- 42:16Speaker 1: it was stinky doesn't mean that I wouldn't eat it.
- 42:18Speaker 1: I do like hummus with peta, Okay, I do. I
- 42:21Speaker 1: love mediterrane I.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Feel the garlic.
- 42:25Speaker 1: It was a little funky dillo.
- 42:27Speaker 3: Do you think it was garlic?
- 42:28Speaker 1: I love garlic. I could eat a clove on my own,
- 42:30Speaker 1: So who knows?
- 42:31Speaker 3: Who knows.
- 42:32Speaker 1: I think there's something about walking into a place that
- 42:35Speaker 1: shouldn't smell like food that really is annoying, Like the
- 42:38Speaker 1: Beverly office exactly. I'm like, why does it smell like food?
- 42:44Speaker 1: Like apartment living?
- 42:45Speaker 3: You know, you're trying to go to bed.
- 42:47Speaker 1: And you're like, why does it smell like food in here?
- 42:51Speaker 1: I should smell like food.
- 42:52Speaker 3: I hear you there. That's why I'm always a windows
- 42:54Speaker 3: open person. But it's dangerous here, I know, and then
- 42:57Speaker 3: I get hungry.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Well no, then all right, you guys, this was a
- 43:02Speaker 1: lot of fun. Go out there, be safe, Try to
- 43:05Speaker 1: still live a good life, though, don't be like that.
- 43:09Speaker 1: There's a happy medium that we're all gonna find. Yes,
- 43:12Speaker 1: and I will come around to having ocean swim. But
- 43:15Speaker 1: what I'm gonna do is when ocean gets in the water,
- 43:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna have a little almost like uh base camp
- 43:24Speaker 1: set up, okay, and have someone fly a drone with
- 43:29Speaker 1: live footage. Oh, so that I know what's going on
- 43:32Speaker 1: out there.
- 43:32Speaker 3: When she gets in the ocean, she's gonna go.
- 43:35Speaker 1: That deep, anything beyond ankle deep. We need to be
- 43:39Speaker 1: aware of what's in.
- 43:40Speaker 3: There, Okay, can She'll on a boogiey board one day.
- 43:42Speaker 3: She will.
- 43:43Speaker 2: It's fun and I'll do it with her. If I
- 43:44Speaker 2: know that the water's safe with that drone.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Out there, I'm gonna pass out, all right. I love
- 43:48Speaker 1: you guys. Reminder, Bonus episodes drop every Monday. Video on
