Latest / FPL Pod / S3 Ep4: Off The Bench: Haaland can’t stop scoring
Transcript
- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome back to this week's Off the Bench podcast from
- 0:19Speaker 1: the Premier League. I'm Lee from FPR Family and I'm
- 0:21Speaker 1: As from feld black Box. Well, what an interesting round
- 0:24Speaker 1: of FPL action that was as not a lot to
- 0:27Speaker 1: shout about, I have to say, but we're going to
- 0:28Speaker 1: do our best this morning on Off the Bench Game
- 0:30Speaker 1: Week four through up the lowest scoring round in FPL
- 0:34Speaker 1: so far and over the last few game weeks. It's
- 0:36Speaker 1: been difficult to separate Salo and Harland, doesn't it, But
- 0:38Speaker 1: it was this week that those that captain the Norwegian
- 0:41Speaker 1: had the big advantage following his back to back hat
- 0:44Speaker 1: tricks embraced this week for Earlin Harland and actually it'll
- 0:47Speaker 1: be unlucky I thought not to have a third hat
- 0:49Speaker 1: trick on the run with Flecken making three says from
- 0:52Speaker 1: him alone. First of all, as did you captain him?
- 0:55Speaker 1: And how was your game? Week?
- 0:57Speaker 2: I did captain Harland. He's basically single handedly carrying me
- 1:01Speaker 2: through these these middling, middling weeks. Yeah, it was all right,
- 1:05Speaker 2: fifty nine and fifty nine points a small green arrow
- 1:08Speaker 2: kind of stay within the top top million. I mean
- 1:11Speaker 2: I was on the wrong end last season of low
- 1:14Speaker 2: scoring game weeks when I got the eleven point game week, so.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Oh, I remember, I remember it well. Yeah, I know,
- 1:21Speaker 1: I remember it well. Still some nightmares about it.
- 1:23Speaker 2: When I can, when I can get through these weeks
- 1:25Speaker 2: with a green arrow, I'm I'm very thankful for that.
- 1:27Speaker 2: But yeah, basically carried by by Harlan captain and and
- 1:30Speaker 2: a certain Mateta who took the second that will obviously
- 1:34Speaker 2: talk about in.
- 1:35Speaker 1: A bit if we have to. Yeah, that was that.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I think that was the difference between me and you
- 1:39Speaker 1: this week, wasn't it The Mateta versus as a penalty saga.
- 1:42Speaker 1: We'll talk about that in just a second. I bought
- 1:43Speaker 1: him in this week. Actually felt felt like for the
- 1:46Speaker 1: next few weeks I thought he would be a really
- 1:47Speaker 1: good option. And I still think he is no panic.
- 1:49Speaker 1: We'll discuss it in a bit, but I did think
- 1:51Speaker 1: he was on penalty so that maybe lessons disappeal a
- 1:54Speaker 1: little bit. Fifty five for me this week, So I,
- 1:56Speaker 1: like you, I feel like I've been like I've survived it.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I feel like it was a very difficult week for
- 2:00Speaker 1: a lot of FPR managers. If you have got a
- 2:02Speaker 1: low scoring team, and I wouldn't worry too much about it.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I think you're not alone from that perspective. Small green
- 2:08Speaker 1: and a very small green up to about if we're
- 2:10Speaker 1: still talking over all ranks, if we are at this stage,
- 2:12Speaker 1: then I think it's about one point three to one
- 2:14Speaker 1: point four something like that, same as you Harland captain,
- 2:17Speaker 1: so good bank that one. And yeah, it was just
- 2:19Speaker 1: one or two other players just holding up my team
- 2:21Speaker 1: that David rya clean sheet. Wasn't expecting it. Actually Spurs
- 2:25Speaker 1: did expect Spurs to get a goal there in that game.
- 2:27Speaker 1: But that's the benefit of having Riya and A, you know,
- 2:30Speaker 1: a non playing second goalkeeper is that you just your
- 2:33Speaker 1: hand is forced every week you're going to play him
- 2:35Speaker 1: and he brings home the nine pointers. So I was
- 2:36Speaker 1: pretty happy with that. So difficult week, but survived. Yeah,
- 2:40Speaker 1: I mean Raya was a killer for me.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I went with Henderson at the start of the season,
- 2:45Speaker 2: who has not performed. In fact, Raya has got more
- 2:47Speaker 2: points in that game against Spurs and Henderson has all seasons.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Sums up. That sums up that decision. Yeah. Again, we'll
- 2:55Speaker 1: talk about Arsole defense in a bit, but they just
- 2:57Speaker 1: they just look incredible and you know that they haven't
- 2:59Speaker 1: had the easiest to start the season. But three and
- 3:02Speaker 1: four clean sheets, why don't we start there then? I
- 3:04Speaker 1: mean Arsenal versus Spurs the North London Derby, the big
- 3:07Speaker 1: game from the weekend, Arsenal coming into it with you know,
- 3:10Speaker 1: no Rice, no ourd guard and a few of us
- 3:12Speaker 1: kind of looking at that going well, how are they
- 3:13Speaker 1: going to cope? It's a big test for Arsenal going
- 3:15Speaker 1: away to Spurs in the North London Derby without the captain,
- 3:18Speaker 1: with that couple of really big players. But as you
- 3:19Speaker 1: rightly said, they're a game plan executed it really well
- 3:23Speaker 1: and the defense continues to be elite, doesn't it. I
- 3:25Speaker 1: mean it's Manchester City up next, so I don't think
- 3:27Speaker 1: any of us are going to rush to add to
- 3:29Speaker 1: any Arsenal defensive players with Harland up next in game
- 3:32Speaker 1: week five. But from Gay week six the fixtures take
- 3:35Speaker 1: a really good turn for Arsenal with Leicester, Southampton and
- 3:37Speaker 1: Bournemouth in six, seven and eight. So so last season
- 3:40Speaker 1: a lot of FPR managers went for the double up
- 3:42Speaker 1: in defense? Is that something? Well, who have you got
- 3:44Speaker 1: and are you considering the double up now? Because they
- 3:47Speaker 1: have again proved themselves to be a Leade, haven't they.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Well, I've got none at the moment. I've I've got
- 3:52Speaker 2: no Arsenal players at all. I really kind of looked
- 3:56Speaker 2: at the fixtures and thought, I know, Arsenal is elite
- 3:59Speaker 2: kind of defense. Sp I thought with Villa, with Brighton,
- 4:02Speaker 2: with Spurs, you know, they probably wouldn't be. They might
- 4:06Speaker 2: can see a couple of goals. They can see one
- 4:08Speaker 2: goal all season. So it's been far from ideal for
- 4:12Speaker 2: my own team. I think the double up is on though,
- 4:15Speaker 2: isn't it. I mean obviously he's like you say, not
- 4:17Speaker 2: from this week, but from game week six, Leicester at home,
- 4:19Speaker 2: Southampton at home. Those two games, I'm expecting a clean
- 4:23Speaker 2: sheet in both of those. I mean, Gabrielle Raya are
- 4:25Speaker 2: the sixth highest scoring players in the game. It's a
- 4:28Speaker 2: mined so you know, we focus on attack and we're
- 4:32Speaker 2: worrying about Watkins us his palmer, versus sack of versus
- 4:35Speaker 2: Song versus Fold and all these players and actually it's
- 4:37Speaker 2: just the six million, five and five million defenders for Arsenal.
- 4:41Speaker 2: We were just wracking up the points week after week,
- 4:43Speaker 2: so got to get one in that. They weathered the storm,
- 4:46Speaker 2: didn't they? From Spurs in the first twenty minutes a
- 4:48Speaker 2: very attacking lineup, but once they got through that fact
- 4:52Speaker 2: in the last after they scored, it never really looked
- 4:54Speaker 2: like they were going to concede it.
- 4:56Speaker 1: No, that set piece threat is we saw it all
- 4:59Speaker 1: our season and we shouldn't ignore it again. They've continued
- 5:01Speaker 1: to do it. And actually when I was watching that
- 5:03Speaker 1: game when Arsenal won that corner, you could see that
- 5:06Speaker 1: little corner of the Arsenal fans. They were celebrating the
- 5:08Speaker 1: corner as if they're robing their has to say, oh
- 5:10Speaker 1: here we go. This is you know, they know, they're
- 5:12Speaker 1: so confident, the fans and the players of getting something
- 5:15Speaker 1: from set pieces. And with Gabrielle in your team, why not.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I mean since he joined the club, he scored the
- 5:20Speaker 1: most set piece goals. That's the first thing to say,
- 5:22Speaker 1: which is I guess, I guess that's definitely something that
- 5:25Speaker 1: you wouldn't be necessarily surprised about. But that is also
- 5:27Speaker 1: the most of any defender in the whole of the
- 5:30Speaker 1: Premier League during that time. So he is a massive threat.
- 5:33Speaker 1: And when you've got somebody like Soccer banging them in, who,
- 5:35Speaker 1: by the way, now has scored or assisted in every
- 5:38Speaker 1: match he's played now for Arsenal this season, so he
- 5:40Speaker 1: continues to tick over a really nicely Soccer, the two
- 5:43Speaker 1: of them. I think if you were going to go
- 5:44Speaker 1: into Arsenal for game week six, which it sounds like
- 5:47Speaker 1: you might be, as Soccer and Gabrielle looked like the
- 5:50Speaker 1: two to go for, or could you be tempted by
- 5:53Speaker 1: the goalkeeper, where would you go? It's a good question.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Soccer's I know he picks up a little bit of
- 5:58Speaker 2: an injury, but this happened before an eye someone to
- 6:02Speaker 2: keep an eye on, but he tends to get over
- 6:04Speaker 2: these quite quickly, doesn't he and and play any minute
- 6:07Speaker 2: that he's he's available for, so so one to monitor,
- 6:10Speaker 2: but I think he'll probably be back in the in
- 6:12Speaker 2: the lineup as soon as he's especially with City.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Next as well. Just give him a bionic leg and
- 6:17Speaker 1: sticking back on the pitch, wheel him out, Yeah, exactly.
- 6:21Speaker 1: In terms of the defense, I think it's really interesting
- 6:23Speaker 1: because right what I like about Raya is a the
- 6:26Speaker 1: goalkeeper position is really hard to get right. I'm messing
- 6:29Speaker 1: around with four point five million goalkeepers. The five million goalkeepers.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Pope and Martinez aren't really delivering. You could go to
- 6:36Speaker 1: Allison maybe, but then you're obviously you're blocking yourself out
- 6:39Speaker 1: of trend. Salah John to Diaz, you know, all those
- 6:43Speaker 1: that are really good. And Ray just feels like you
- 6:45Speaker 1: get him in like you've got and that's it. That
- 6:48Speaker 1: position is sorted for you now for to the end
- 6:50Speaker 1: of the season. And he's picking up bonus whenever there's
- 6:52Speaker 1: a clean sheet, which is happening regularly obviously with Arsenal,
- 6:55Speaker 1: he's picking up bonus. Another two bonus against Spurs. He's
- 6:58Speaker 1: got three bonus in the who nilwin against aston Villa
- 7:02Speaker 1: and all three bonus in the win against Wolves as well.
- 7:06Speaker 1: So even though Gabrielle's got the goal threat, it seems
- 7:10Speaker 1: that it's Ray who's picking up the bonus every time
- 7:12Speaker 1: they keep a clean sheet. So it's I don't know,
- 7:15Speaker 1: I think it's really tight between them. You do get
- 7:17Speaker 1: obviously get the extra goal threat with Gabrielle, but I
- 7:19Speaker 1: think I'm leaning towards raya is the better option. Yeah,
- 7:22Speaker 1: and I think because he's that a little bit cheaper
- 7:23Speaker 1: as well. It's just his style, isn't it. He picks
- 7:25Speaker 1: up a couple of save points which which he does
- 7:27Speaker 1: because he's very good shot stopper. But then it's also
- 7:29Speaker 1: the way that he plays with his feet. We know
- 7:31Speaker 1: that Arteta likes that style with his goalkeepers. That's why
- 7:33Speaker 1: he got Raya in the first place. That's why rams
- 7:35Speaker 1: Dow moved on. Right, it's the fact that he can
- 7:37Speaker 1: do he can rack up that pass completion rate because
- 7:40Speaker 1: that's what the underlying and that's what the underlying BPS
- 7:42Speaker 1: system and FPL loves, right, It loves saves, it loves
- 7:45Speaker 1: past completion rates from goalkeepers. So yes, he is going
- 7:47Speaker 1: to rack up, like you say, whenever there's a clean sheet.
- 7:50Speaker 1: And of course didn't get the free bonus points this week.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Obviously it's Gabriel go on a clean sheet, obviously, but
- 7:54Speaker 1: if that goal is scored by somebody else from ask
- 7:56Speaker 1: the Arsenal side, there's a pretty good chance that Rya
- 7:58Speaker 1: gets the clean sheet and actually three bonus points as well,
- 8:01Speaker 1: and even more points. So I bought him in a
- 8:03Speaker 1: couple of weeks ago exactly with that intent as which
- 8:05Speaker 1: was I don't want to have to It's almost like
- 8:07Speaker 1: something I haven't got to think about it. Every week.
- 8:09Speaker 1: You just play him and okay, if Arsenal can seed,
- 8:11Speaker 1: which isn't happening very often. But if they do, you
- 8:13Speaker 1: just accept it, and if they don't, it's a nine
- 8:16Speaker 1: or ten pointer. So I do like it. You mentioned
- 8:18Speaker 1: there about Spurs. Let's to discuss them for a second.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Very good for the first twenty I thought they came
- 8:23Speaker 1: out with all guns blazing, full of intent for the
- 8:25Speaker 1: first twenty minutes. But after that it's sort of I
- 8:28Speaker 1: don't know. Arsenal just sort of stamped their authority on
- 8:30Speaker 1: the game in a little bit. And I want to
- 8:31Speaker 1: talk in particular about him Minson because there will be
- 8:34Speaker 1: some FPR managers out there that have got him, no doubt.
- 8:36Speaker 1: He's reasonably highly owned, and he's expensive and in a
- 8:39Speaker 1: week where you know we're going to be looking ahead
- 8:41Speaker 1: to six and sock her and maybe you'll want to
- 8:43Speaker 1: get onto Harland if you haven't got him already. And
- 8:45Speaker 1: Salah looks like a decent captaincy for five, etc. Son's
- 8:49Speaker 1: looking like a difficult hole, isn't he.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Well, he is at his price as well, and I
- 8:53Speaker 2: said this is kind of at the start of the season.
- 8:55Speaker 2: And then obviously win in game Week two and got
- 8:58Speaker 2: sixteen points against Everton, which makes me look a bit,
- 9:00Speaker 2: a bit stupid, but when he's competing against Palmer Sokka,
- 9:04Speaker 2: you know, Foden's due to come back to brun Is
- 9:06Speaker 2: obviously starting a lot of games for Man City. Now
- 9:09Speaker 2: I'm unsure really where to place him in the rankings,
- 9:12Speaker 2: and if we're thinking about wild cards coming up and
- 9:15Speaker 2: looking at Harle and looking at Socca because of those fixtures,
- 9:18Speaker 2: you know, still going for Trent Salah's still obviously a blank,
- 9:22Speaker 2: but still a great option for us. I just really
- 9:24Speaker 2: don't know where Son is going to feature in our seasons.
- 9:28Speaker 2: And the big thing for me was when I watched
- 9:29Speaker 2: that game yesterday. Okay, he missed a good chance. I
- 9:32Speaker 2: think couldn't really get the ball out from under his feet,
- 9:34Speaker 2: but Dominic Slanky looked great in that game, you know, yeah,
- 9:40Speaker 2: in industrious player making good runs, getting chances, got like
- 9:43Speaker 2: a looping crect a chance. I have nothing for that
- 9:45Speaker 2: kind of looping header that I think had beaten, had
- 9:48Speaker 2: beaten Raya. And he's cheaper than so on that nearly
- 9:51Speaker 2: you know, two point five million less. So why would
- 9:55Speaker 2: we be going for Son when we could have Slanky,
- 9:58Speaker 2: especially if Slanky takes penalty off him as well, I
- 10:01Speaker 2: just I just don't see myself going there this season.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Yeah, particularly when our midfields are full of It's full
- 10:06Speaker 1: of options and talent, aren't we We've got I don't
- 10:08Speaker 1: think it's difficult to fill five midfield slots in FPL
- 10:11Speaker 1: this season. Whereas that forward line, it's getting a little
- 10:14Speaker 1: bit more congested in our forward lines, you know, apart
- 10:16Speaker 1: from you know, Jalu Pedro missing out this week. He's
- 10:18Speaker 1: putting his hand up, isn't he in recent weeks? And
- 10:20Speaker 1: obviously Olie Watkins will do him next, I think, putting
- 10:23Speaker 1: his hand up and obviously Harland of course, right, but
- 10:25Speaker 1: slankit seven five? Yeah, given the benefit of the doubt
- 10:28Speaker 1: in this game, right, he's up against that, you know,
- 10:29Speaker 1: the elite defense in the Premier League, no doubt about it.
- 10:31Speaker 1: And he's just coming back from a little bit of
- 10:33Speaker 1: a knock, a bit of an injury. So yeah, industry
- 10:35Speaker 1: I like that words us. He was industrious, wasn't he.
- 10:37Speaker 1: He really put in a shift and I think for
- 10:39Speaker 1: seven point five I think you keep him on radar.
- 10:42Speaker 1: But if you are going to invest in that Spurs attack,
- 10:44Speaker 1: then yeah, it's got it's got to be him. I
- 10:45Speaker 1: can't see that, why you'd spend you know, two point
- 10:47Speaker 1: five three million more the sun right now? I just
- 10:50Speaker 1: don't see it.
- 10:50Speaker 2: You keep him this week, don't you. He's got Brentford
- 10:52Speaker 2: at home this week. I think you keep him for that.
- 10:54Speaker 2: But after you keep for Brentford, I think I think so. Yeah,
- 10:59Speaker 2: I mean obviously has got man City Palmer's are you
- 11:03Speaker 2: going to want to get Palmer? You know, with the
- 11:05Speaker 2: other options, I think I would hold him this week,
- 11:08Speaker 2: but then look to moving six.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay, Well somebody else that's putting his hand up
- 11:12Speaker 1: in that forward line is Olie Watkins. So he was
- 11:14Speaker 1: given four big chances this weekend and a non penalty.
- 11:18Speaker 1: XGI have one point three to four and we've seen
- 11:20Speaker 1: that in recent weeks, haven't we. Despite a couple of
- 11:22Speaker 1: misses early on in game weeks one and two, he's
- 11:24Speaker 1: now starting to find his scoring boots and even he
- 11:26Speaker 1: himself came out after the game and said, look, I'm
- 11:28Speaker 1: not not quite one hundred percent yet, but I'm kind
- 11:30Speaker 1: of getting there, finding my match fitness, finding my shooting
- 11:33Speaker 1: boots and did very well against Evenson, didn't he. I
- 11:36Speaker 1: mean it got the Champions League coming up Everton, which
- 11:38Speaker 1: will be a bit of a concern, I guess, particularly
- 11:41Speaker 1: when they have another striker this season and John Durant
- 11:43Speaker 1: who can bang him in from that distance. I mean,
- 11:45Speaker 1: what a strike that was. I thought that was going
- 11:47Speaker 1: to be goal of the weekend. And then Harvey Barnes
- 11:49Speaker 1: did Harvey Barer things on Sunday, so we'll maybe talk
- 11:52Speaker 1: about that strike later on. Great to see the you know,
- 11:55Speaker 1: outside of the box hum Dinger coming back this weekend.
- 11:57Speaker 1: There was a few, wasn't there. Shout out to Fabian
- 11:59Speaker 1: Share as well well, but yeah, Olie Watkins, then what
- 12:02Speaker 1: do you think a rotation risk with John Duran around
- 12:04Speaker 1: the Champions League or a decent captainsh option for five?
- 12:07Speaker 1: Because the ficture for Villa continued to look good.
- 12:10Speaker 2: It's really interesting what they do with with Watkins and
- 12:13Speaker 2: Juanne because Rogers is there as we obviously playing ninety
- 12:15Speaker 2: minutes at all times. I wonder if it might be
- 12:18Speaker 2: Ramsey that sacrificed to bring in Duran if they are
- 12:20Speaker 2: going to start start him, but it's almost like he's
- 12:23Speaker 2: so effective coming off the bench at the moment, it's
- 12:26Speaker 2: almost like why would you change that?
- 12:29Speaker 1: Who was it was? It Fondra.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Do you remember him at reading when when he was
- 12:32Speaker 2: like coming off the bench and scoring.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Every people are listening to this that reckon that remember
- 12:37Speaker 1: Adam Lafondra. That's I like that. That's a nice right.
- 12:40Speaker 2: There you go if you remember other than Lafondre, he
- 12:41Speaker 2: was a player who basically only scored off the bench,
- 12:44Speaker 2: and he scored so many they stuck him in the
- 12:46Speaker 2: starting eleven and in my memory, he basically never scored
- 12:49Speaker 2: again when he was when he was playing. So when
- 12:51Speaker 2: you've got such a weapon like that, it's hard to
- 12:54Speaker 2: kind of change it around. I think Jurane probably comes
- 12:56Speaker 2: into the Champions League first eleven. I mean, and you
- 13:00Speaker 2: know there might be a bit of a bit of
- 13:01Speaker 2: a tweak in that, but you know they are picking
- 13:04Speaker 2: up wins. I know, obviously they lost against Arsenal, but
- 13:07Speaker 2: I think they were a bit unlucky in that because
- 13:08Speaker 2: Walkins had a couple of good chances and it's wins
- 13:11Speaker 2: against west Am, Leicester and Everton playing the way they are.
- 13:14Speaker 2: I don't think Watkins is a is a risk. I mean,
- 13:18Speaker 2: it's eighty three minutes he played in the last game,
- 13:20Speaker 2: it was three sixty minutes. That's what put me off
- 13:22Speaker 2: buying him. I don't know if it's the same for you,
- 13:24Speaker 2: but if he'd been playing ninety going into Everton, I
- 13:28Speaker 2: almost certainly would have owned him for this week. But
- 13:31Speaker 2: I looked at those sixty minutes and thought, I just
- 13:34Speaker 2: don't like him get accepted off early.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Yeah, And it was the form, wasn't it, Like you say,
- 13:38Speaker 1: those couple of misses against Arsenal, and he didn't quite
- 13:40Speaker 1: look at it, and I was just kind of and
- 13:42Speaker 1: I know the art of FPR really is to get
- 13:44Speaker 1: ahead of these things, but I'm just was waiting for
- 13:46Speaker 1: him to put in the sort of performance that he
- 13:48Speaker 1: put in this weekend, and I was hoping it was
- 13:50Speaker 1: coming sooner rather than later, because I think the fixtures
- 13:53Speaker 1: for the next five in particular looked great with Wolves
- 13:55Speaker 1: at home up next, and you know, Wolves under O'Neill
- 13:58Speaker 1: under a bit of pressure, no one winning the last
- 14:00Speaker 1: what is it fifteen sixteen Premier League games, they're not
- 14:02Speaker 1: exactly faring on all cylinders, so a nice fixture Forrolly
- 14:05Speaker 1: Watkins coming up in five and then going forward. I
- 14:08Speaker 1: was just trying of waiting for him to show that
- 14:10Speaker 1: that bit of form, and I think we've I think
- 14:12Speaker 1: we've seen it. I think we've seen it against Everton.
- 14:14Speaker 1: What did you make of the Everton performance though, because
- 14:17Speaker 1: I don't know that's two game weeks in a row.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Obviously we they've gone two nil up and lose three
- 14:21Speaker 1: to two. So on the face of it, you'd go, well,
- 14:23Speaker 1: it's mentality issues, die, she isn't getting it right, et cetera.
- 14:26Speaker 1: But I had this conversation with Sam last night on
- 14:30Speaker 1: our live stream and she was like, yeah, you know
- 14:32Speaker 1: Everton really all over the place. You know I wouldn't invest.
- 14:35Speaker 1: And I said, well, there's there's signs there though, isn't there?
- 14:37Speaker 1: There's signs there. They are going to and new up.
- 14:39Speaker 1: They are playing quite well, Dominic calvalt Lou and only
- 14:41Speaker 1: two point three percent owned with good fixtures coming up Everton.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I'm not for a minute suggesting and you go out
- 14:47Speaker 1: and get you know, Pickford or Michael Keene or anybody
- 14:49Speaker 1: in their defense, but offensively as they don't look too bad.
- 14:54Speaker 1: And Dwight McNeil created seventeen chances this season more than
- 14:57Speaker 1: any other player, Dominic Calvert Lewin scoring goals. Am I
- 15:01Speaker 1: barking up the wrong tree here? Or are Everton investable
- 15:03Speaker 1: ahead of what I think is a reasonable run of fixture. Well,
- 15:06Speaker 1: when I saw that about Dwyt McNeil seventeen chances this season,
- 15:09Speaker 1: more than any other player, I thought, whoa that is?
- 15:13Speaker 1: That is?
- 15:13Speaker 2: I wasn't right it has Yeah, and he's been a
- 15:17Speaker 2: he's a funny FPL asset. I mean he's obviously a
- 15:20Speaker 2: great player. He has been under under dies FPL wise.
- 15:23Speaker 2: He he goes on these runs of blank blank blank
- 15:25Speaker 2: blank blank and then just pops up with like a
- 15:28Speaker 2: cold class perform world he gets like fifteen points.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I mean you know when calvt Lewin is showing the
- 15:35Speaker 2: form he's in at the moment, and he's got Dwaright
- 15:37Speaker 2: McNeil creating chances for him, I do always think he's
- 15:39Speaker 2: a good asset. I want to see a fully fit,
- 15:42Speaker 2: dominic Calvalleon. It's not something that we've seen for a while.
- 15:45Speaker 2: He's only two percent owned in the game now. The
- 15:47Speaker 2: pictures are pretty good for Everton. I guess my my
- 15:50Speaker 2: question to flip it back to you, is how important
- 15:54Speaker 2: is that kind of team form and that team morale
- 15:57Speaker 2: when you're considering a player like Calvalleon, Because actually the
- 15:59Speaker 2: stats for Calvin a decent but Everton, you know, the
- 16:04Speaker 2: confidence is going to start waning, isn't it. And then
- 16:06Speaker 2: if question marks are raised around Ditche, is that going
- 16:09Speaker 2: to affect the team to the point where you wouldn't
- 16:11Speaker 2: consider covering.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Well, I think that's That's the thing that's sticking in
- 16:15Speaker 1: my mind, is that. And and he's cheap enough cavalouing right,
- 16:17Speaker 1: it's I think five point eight five point nine. I
- 16:19Speaker 1: think he's really good price in FPL. And he's going
- 16:23Speaker 1: to be taking the penalties, et cetera, et cetera. So
- 16:25Speaker 1: you know, good asset on the face of it. But
- 16:27Speaker 1: if you're a forward in that Everton side and you
- 16:30Speaker 1: keep looking back defensively and what keeps happening to them
- 16:33Speaker 1: keeps happening to them, it's demoralizing, isn't It's demoralizing, And
- 16:37Speaker 1: you rightly say that's going to have an effect on
- 16:38Speaker 1: the team. It's going to put the players under pressure,
- 16:40Speaker 1: put the manager under pressure. I mean, Sean Diyce has
- 16:42Speaker 1: been here, done it, got the T shirt right, so
- 16:44Speaker 1: he's you'll have, you know, eats pressure for breakfast. So
- 16:46Speaker 1: I don't think it's necessarily going to show on him.
- 16:48Speaker 1: He eats pressure for breakfast like that. Yes, take that,
- 16:52Speaker 1: you can have that one. So I don't think we're
- 16:53Speaker 1: going to see any sort of you know, post match
- 16:55Speaker 1: ditsche breakdowns or anything like that. But for the players, yeah,
- 16:59Speaker 1: you know, the likes of dominant calval Lowan, he's gonna
- 17:00Speaker 1: be look at that and going well. Doesn't matter how
- 17:01Speaker 1: many I score, we still seem to be leaking at
- 17:04Speaker 1: the back. So I do agree with you. I do
- 17:05Speaker 1: agree with you that is a there's a general team
- 17:08Speaker 1: malaise at Everton which might have an impact on Dominic
- 17:11Speaker 1: Calvert lewin. So I don't think I'm going to be
- 17:13Speaker 1: immediately investing. But with Leicester away up next and then
- 17:16Speaker 1: Pallas and Newcastle at home, it switch away in eight
- 17:19Speaker 1: full of at home in nine. It's an unbelievable run,
- 17:24Speaker 1: isn't it. It's a game run. Yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I mean, like you say, they have been going too up.
- 17:28Speaker 2: They just need to stop conceding goals. And you know,
- 17:33Speaker 2: I think you know Branthway is surely back back soon,
- 17:36Speaker 2: and that is you know they making a yeah it
- 17:39Speaker 2: start making a new sixty seventy million pounds signing to
- 17:42Speaker 2: show up with defense, isn't it and I think that's
- 17:45Speaker 2: going to have a big impact and it's it's coming
- 17:46Speaker 2: at the right time. But if they lose against Leicester,
- 17:49Speaker 2: I think there are going to be some question marks
- 17:51Speaker 2: asked about about Ditch and that might affect the rest
- 17:54Speaker 2: of the team. But genuinely, I quite like the Calvalt
- 17:57Speaker 2: Lewin punt going forward. I think you can do a
- 17:59Speaker 2: lot of us for five point nine.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't mind it. There's suddenly a few players
- 18:03Speaker 1: in that brackets near him. You've got Sharo Pedro, You've
- 18:05Speaker 1: got who else is in there? Jamie Vardy? Maybe even
- 18:08Speaker 1: potentially he's got another guy who we all kind of
- 18:10Speaker 1: wrote off coming into the season. You know he can't
- 18:12Speaker 1: do it. He's not got the legs, he's passed his best,
- 18:14Speaker 1: But here he is just showing us all up and
- 18:17Speaker 1: proving us all wrong. Maybe let's do that game then,
- 18:19Speaker 1: Jpie Vardy Leicester versus Crystal Palace at Selhurst at the weekend.
- 18:23Speaker 1: We've got to talk about Mateta and sa in a minute,
- 18:25Speaker 1: but just a shout out for Vardy then? Is he
- 18:27Speaker 1: an optional we Is it mad to be considering Jamie Vardy? Yes?
- 18:31Speaker 2: I think I think it probably is. I'd rather have
- 18:37Speaker 2: Pedro or or cover the in kind. I mean, Lester
- 18:41Speaker 2: are ranked nineteenth for expected goals over the season. They
- 18:44Speaker 2: keep kind of finding a way to score. And we
- 18:48Speaker 2: know Vardy's got that got that quality, and how he's
- 18:50Speaker 2: still managing to score goals in the Premier League of it,
- 18:53Speaker 2: I think it's brilliant, is incredible. And you know he's
- 18:56Speaker 2: played more minutes than Watkins for example, that's two back
- 18:58Speaker 2: to back ninety minutes for Vardy.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Everton at home up next.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Say, I know, I know, and he's got he's got
- 19:05Speaker 2: that kind of legendary, that legendary status.
- 19:07Speaker 1: But I don't know. I just think.
- 19:11Speaker 2: I just think Lester generally, I still don't really trust
- 19:14Speaker 2: trust the attack too much. It is a good game
- 19:17Speaker 2: against Everton next, then it's Arsenal Way, then it's all
- 19:20Speaker 2: right again. Then when it's Bourneouth and Southampton. It depends
- 19:23Speaker 2: what you want from him. I just think Pedro is
- 19:25Speaker 2: the same price playing, you know, playing for a more expansive,
- 19:30Speaker 2: more attacking Brighton team. I'd go there, but I don't
- 19:33Speaker 2: hate it.
- 19:34Speaker 1: I changed my mind.
- 19:35Speaker 2: I said at the start, is mad to be considering?
- 19:37Speaker 2: I think mad might be might be a bit of
- 19:38Speaker 2: a stretch, but I do I do think there's there's
- 19:40Speaker 2: better options.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Nice, yeah, nice, And I do want to give a
- 19:43Speaker 1: shout out to Wilfrid indeed as well, only five million
- 19:45Speaker 1: FPR now three assists in two matches, more advanced than
- 19:48Speaker 1: we used to seeing Wilford in d D seems to
- 19:51Speaker 1: be sort of up there and in those sorts of
- 19:52Speaker 1: areas that we wouldn't expect. So again, I'm not going
- 19:55Speaker 1: to put him inside the kind of Jamie Vardy Brackett
- 19:57Speaker 1: is investible. If I just put Jamievardi in the investible I
- 20:00Speaker 1: think I have, I'm not going to put not going
- 20:01Speaker 1: to put him. This is what happens. Yeah, we've got
- 20:04Speaker 1: We've gone from mad to maybe it's best. So with
- 20:08Speaker 1: the two of them, I'm not going to go in.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I'm not going to go in freed from of them,
- 20:10Speaker 1: but just want to keep an eye on Wilford. Indeed,
- 20:12Speaker 1: he seems to be popping up in areas five million, yeah,
- 20:15Speaker 1: five mils, so he could be if you're wild carding,
- 20:17Speaker 1: maybe this week on next could be a decent enabler.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Let's let's get this out of the way, Let's get the
- 20:21Speaker 1: Mateta and thing out of the way because you've got Mateta,
- 20:24Speaker 1: I've got and I've got in this week and thinking, okay,
- 20:28Speaker 1: well he's not got any points this week, but here
- 20:30Speaker 1: we go ninety third minute penalty or whatever it was
- 20:32Speaker 1: not last minute penalty. Great. You know, That's why I
- 20:34Speaker 1: brought him in because as soon as I saw the
- 20:36Speaker 1: palace penalty flash up, I'm counting the points already as
- 20:39Speaker 1: I'm already thinking how many points is going to get me.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I think he got the ball. I think he had
- 20:43Speaker 1: it in his hands and then kind of gave it
- 20:46Speaker 1: to Meteta. So where a few postmatch comments from Glasner
- 20:50Speaker 1: as well about this, which maybe we'll discuss, But what
- 20:52Speaker 1: is your take on it? Is Mateta now the penalty taker.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Does owners need to be worried about this?
- 20:56Speaker 2: Well, it's an interesting thing because Glasner has said, basically,
- 20:59Speaker 2: we have two penalty takers and they can kind of
- 21:02Speaker 2: decide amongst themselves.
- 21:04Speaker 1: I hate that. The thought of that makes me feel
- 21:06Speaker 1: a bit a bit weird. I like the idea you've
- 21:08Speaker 1: got one penalty taker, they get the ball, you give
- 21:10Speaker 1: it to them, and they do it, and it's right.
- 21:12Speaker 1: That's why we are boy it.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean hasn't exactly scored a lot of
- 21:17Speaker 2: penalties in his career. He's scored one penalty in twenty
- 21:22Speaker 2: twenty three and the same before, so he's only actually
- 21:25Speaker 2: scored two penalties in the league. I mean, he's obviously
- 21:28Speaker 2: capable of scoring them, don't get me wrong. But Mateta
- 21:31Speaker 2: is just that player, isn't he at the moment under
- 21:33Speaker 2: Glasnow he's carried on really from where he left off
- 21:36Speaker 2: towards the end of last season. You know, he's gone
- 21:38Speaker 2: off and played at the Olympics. He's been he's scored
- 21:40Speaker 2: that all those goals in the Cup for them and
- 21:43Speaker 2: the other game, and the worry was within Ketcha coming
- 21:45Speaker 2: in what that would really mean for him. But actually
- 21:48Speaker 2: I think the link up between the three of them
- 21:50Speaker 2: looked look really really impressive. And it's interesting with Mateta
- 21:54Speaker 2: in my own team because I was thinking of selling
- 21:56Speaker 2: him this week because I thought, ok, I thought, and
- 21:59Speaker 2: Ketchy has come in. You know, it's a couple's three
- 22:02Speaker 2: blanks in a row in the league. You know, ess
- 22:05Speaker 2: the one to get because he's on the penalties, and
- 22:07Speaker 2: now Matet has gone from you know, probably my top
- 22:10Speaker 2: sell to actually I think big quite a could asset
- 22:13Speaker 2: funnily how.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I feel works. Yeah, yeah, and I think you're right
- 22:16Speaker 1: about in Kettya. He's come in and all right early days,
- 22:19Speaker 1: but the signs are good, right, the signs a good.
- 22:21Speaker 1: He's only five point nine in FPL, so when we
- 22:23Speaker 1: were having the Vardi conversation, you know, he's up there,
- 22:25Speaker 1: and in the DCL conversation that we were having before,
- 22:28Speaker 1: five shots in the first half alone, so he came
- 22:30Speaker 1: out like a house on fire in that game against
- 22:32Speaker 1: Leicester six shots in total, so we kind of quietened
- 22:34Speaker 1: down a little bit in the second half. But five
- 22:36Speaker 1: shots in the first half, fifteen penalty area touches and
- 22:39Speaker 1: six attempts on goal, so no one had more this
- 22:42Speaker 1: game week than six attempts on goal. Both Watkins, well,
- 22:46Speaker 1: all of Watkins, Harland and then Kettya all had six.
- 22:48Speaker 1: So he's up there in fairly elite company. I mean,
- 22:51Speaker 1: like I say, early days, but you're right. The signs
- 22:54Speaker 1: for Palace fans were very positive that Glasgow can get
- 22:57Speaker 1: a tune out of the three of them working together. Yes,
- 23:00Speaker 1: another six million is ish option.
- 23:01Speaker 2: You know, we talked about Vardi talks about Calvert, Lewin
- 23:04Speaker 2: talks about Petro I think, and Ketty is there there too,
- 23:07Speaker 2: if you're looking to save a bit of money to
- 23:09Speaker 2: move for some of the other premium assets. I mean,
- 23:10Speaker 2: what do you think about though, I mean, you bought
- 23:13Speaker 2: a in this week. Are you more concerned about him now?
- 23:17Speaker 2: Do you think his stock has fallen a bit? Are
- 23:20Speaker 2: you're still happy to hold well? I think it does
- 23:23Speaker 2: give your pause for thought, doesn't it?
- 23:25Speaker 1: As an owner? I mean, it doesn't make him a
- 23:26Speaker 1: bad asset, right, even at seven million. He's still a
- 23:28Speaker 1: really good option. And I think you know he's been
- 23:31Speaker 1: having shots on goal and he scored that, you know,
- 23:33Speaker 1: inverted com as goal, didn't he the other week from
- 23:35Speaker 1: the free kick which you know the referee ruled out
- 23:37Speaker 1: but should have been a world He's full of confidence
- 23:39Speaker 1: and he's getting in all the right areas and doing
- 23:42Speaker 1: all the right things that we'd expect of an fpl asset.
- 23:44Speaker 1: It was almost like the penalties where the icing on
- 23:46Speaker 1: the cake. For me, I just thought, well, with those fixtures,
- 23:50Speaker 1: a couple of home games, one at Leicester, one at
- 23:52Speaker 1: Man United coming up next in five, and then Everton
- 23:54Speaker 1: away in six, those were the targeting those three really
- 23:57Speaker 1: and thinking yeah, okay, well as the one. I'm going
- 24:00Speaker 1: to need to see something now. I think going into
- 24:03Speaker 1: those three, if he was you know, one hundred percent
- 24:05Speaker 1: on penalties and I come out of those three and
- 24:07Speaker 1: maybe he's only got one goal out of the three games,
- 24:08Speaker 1: you go, Okay, well he's still on pens and he's
- 24:10Speaker 1: still quite cheap. I think now, no panic, but I'm
- 24:14Speaker 1: kind of looking at him going well, I do need
- 24:16Speaker 1: to see something from us over the next kind of
- 24:18Speaker 1: two with Manu and Everton, because then it's in Liverpool
- 24:20Speaker 1: in seven and then away at Forest, who have proved
- 24:22Speaker 1: themselves to be we'll go there next, I think, prove
- 24:25Speaker 1: themselves to be, you know, a tough nut to crack
- 24:27Speaker 1: at anfield this weekend. So suddenly from you know seven,
- 24:30Speaker 1: it doesn't look quite so good. So I do need
- 24:32Speaker 1: to see something now from so no panic, but yes,
- 24:34Speaker 1: do need to see something at zero point eight XGI
- 24:37Speaker 1: for ISA this week. I know, I know underline numbers
- 24:41Speaker 1: isn't he's still He's still there and thereabouts on the
- 24:43Speaker 1: underlying stats. It's just you know, would have been nice
- 24:46Speaker 1: to see him tuck that penalty away. But like you say,
- 24:49Speaker 1: not you know, one penalty in the last season one
- 24:52Speaker 1: penalty again in the season before, so not exactly prolific
- 24:54Speaker 1: from the spot. Let's say, did give a quick shout
- 24:57Speaker 1: out there Nott in Forest. Let's go there next then,
- 25:00Speaker 1: and let's do this quickly because I want to rip
- 25:01Speaker 1: the band aid off and get past this game. Let's
- 25:04Speaker 1: the next twenty minutes on this one that your thoughts?
- 25:08Speaker 1: Do you know what Liverpool Forests? I was not, you know,
- 25:10Speaker 1: obviously was expecting to win Liverpool home started the season
- 25:13Speaker 1: very very well. Indeed, before I launched into you know
- 25:16Speaker 1: what I made of the Liverpool performance, the first thing
- 25:18Speaker 1: I have to say is that I thought Forest were excellent,
- 25:22Speaker 1: absolutely excellent. I thought they really put in a shift.
- 25:24Speaker 1: I thought they were you know, I saw a couple
- 25:26Speaker 1: of highlights of the match and they were throwing bodies
- 25:28Speaker 1: in front of the ball when Liverpool got into the
- 25:30Speaker 1: final third, really disrupting the play. I talk in a
- 25:34Speaker 1: minute about the changes that Arnie Slot made and when
- 25:37Speaker 1: he made them. But before I do that, what were
- 25:39Speaker 1: your thoughts on on Forest in particular? Because I thought
- 25:42Speaker 1: it looked.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Very very good, very impressed, and especially when I saw
- 25:45Speaker 2: the lineup and I saw no alangor or Hudson Ady.
- 25:47Speaker 2: It almost looks like it kind of not throwing the
- 25:50Speaker 2: game away, but as a game plan, but it looks
- 25:53Speaker 2: like they're just going to go on the defensive in
- 25:55Speaker 2: that match, and you know effective that is what they did.
- 25:58Speaker 2: They were the storm for ang as, they could chuck
- 26:00Speaker 2: them on near the end and then they combined to
- 26:02Speaker 2: get the goal, you know, right right, you know, run rightfully.
- 26:06Speaker 2: So I think I thought they played. They played really well.
- 26:09Speaker 2: And you know, we talk about all these attacking performances
- 26:12Speaker 2: that we see from man Cities and Arsenals and even
- 26:14Speaker 2: Liverpool with the high press, but when you watch a
- 26:16Speaker 2: match like that, you've got a lot of respect for
- 26:18Speaker 2: the way Nott in Forests carried out the game plan.
- 26:21Speaker 1: And saw it through.
- 26:22Speaker 2: So yeah, really really impressed with them. I thought moving
- 26:26Speaker 2: a to right back it was really interesting as well,
- 26:29Speaker 2: bringing Moraino into left back. I think that gives us
- 26:31Speaker 2: two options, two really good options in the in the
- 26:34Speaker 2: forest defense. Now I think for either of those they're
- 26:37Speaker 2: really attacking. You know, when the pictures get a bit better,
- 26:40Speaker 2: I think I'll almost ctainly be picking up one of
- 26:42Speaker 2: those me am is down to four point four million, Yeah, yeah,
- 26:45Speaker 2: really cheap. So yeah, I think if you've got Neca Williams,
- 26:48Speaker 2: you're obviously looking looking to sell and probably moved to
- 26:51Speaker 2: one of those two cells. Still looks a bit ropy though,
- 26:54Speaker 2: I mean obviously you saw the the fumble from the dead. Yeah, yeah,
- 27:00Speaker 2: that was that was that was a bit dodgy. So
- 27:03Speaker 2: he's a bit of a concern. But you know, made
- 27:05Speaker 2: five saves in that match and came over with Max
- 27:07Speaker 2: bonus too, so he could be an option, but I
- 27:10Speaker 2: think he's potentially the problem area for them going forward.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Yeah, very impressed with Forrest and I think from a
- 27:17Speaker 1: Liverpool perspective then, yeah, the changes that Arnie Slott made,
- 27:21Speaker 1: and we've seen this in previous weeks, right, he's giving
- 27:23Speaker 1: you know, Jott for an hour, maybe sixty five minutes
- 27:25Speaker 1: Dias about the same sort of time. It's only really
- 27:27Speaker 1: most Salid that stand on for the ninety and that's
- 27:29Speaker 1: maybe because Kiss not kind of fully up to speed yet,
- 27:31Speaker 1: let's see, or maybe it's just because he's mos Salah, right,
- 27:33Speaker 1: But this kind of early substitutions with Trent as well.
- 27:37Speaker 1: In previous weeks we've seen that although we did move
- 27:39Speaker 1: Trent into I was gonna say midfield, but more of
- 27:41Speaker 1: for like a ten I think in this game. But
- 27:43Speaker 1: it was those changes that really changed the momentum of
- 27:46Speaker 1: the game. And I think Nuno Spirito Santo should be
- 27:48Speaker 1: given a lot of credit for chucking on the likes
- 27:50Speaker 1: of Hudson, Nadoi and a Langer to exploit the changes
- 27:54Speaker 1: that he made. So, you know, Slot takes off mcallisas
- 27:57Speaker 1: or a little bit weaker in the middle on the
- 27:59Speaker 1: left hand side and moves Trent and puts Bradley on there.
- 28:01Speaker 1: So numerous birits of and Stot kind of moved to
- 28:04Speaker 1: a three, didn't he at the back and goes, okay, well,
- 28:07Speaker 1: why don't I chuck on Hudson Odory and I chuck
- 28:09Speaker 1: on a Langer speed in those sorts of areas. I'll
- 28:11Speaker 1: get at Conn a Bradley if I can, and I'll
- 28:13Speaker 1: whip the ball across to him and try and expose
- 28:15Speaker 1: Liverpool's back three. And that's exactly what he did, and
- 28:18Speaker 1: he did it brilliantly well. And I think from Slot's perspective,
- 28:21Speaker 1: he's got to look at that and kind of learn,
- 28:22Speaker 1: you know, no panic, I don't think from us Liverpool fans,
- 28:26Speaker 1: particularly as we have Bournemouth coming up next, and I
- 28:29Speaker 1: expect Bournemouth to come to Anfield with a slightly different
- 28:32Speaker 1: game plan. I did notice that Bournemouth are very much
- 28:35Speaker 1: not a low block side. They're second in the table
- 28:37Speaker 1: so far for pressures in the opposition half this season,
- 28:40Speaker 1: so they like to press high. They like to get
- 28:42Speaker 1: in the face of the opponent, unlike what Forrest did
- 28:45Speaker 1: in this game, which was to kind of sit off
- 28:47Speaker 1: and then try and hit on the counter attack late
- 28:48Speaker 1: into the game. So with a lot of FPR managers
- 28:51Speaker 1: going for Salah in recent weeks obviously, and with Das
- 28:54Speaker 1: and jott are definitely on radar, if not in a
- 28:57Speaker 1: lot of FPR managers teams. We've got to see how
- 29:00Speaker 1: Liverpool do against Milan on Tuesday. Big game coming up
- 29:02Speaker 1: in the Champions League. But I'm not going to panic
- 29:06Speaker 1: too much on Liverpool that I think is a reasonable game.
- 29:09Speaker 1: With a high pressing bomb of site coming to Anfield
- 29:11Speaker 1: next up, I think the game will look and feel
- 29:14Speaker 1: different to the Forest game. But I don't know. You
- 29:17Speaker 1: tell me what do you think about these early subs,
- 29:18Speaker 1: because that's what FO managers will be looking at. They
- 29:20Speaker 1: were looking at Jota, looking at Das and going, well,
- 29:22Speaker 1: I can't just be dealing with sixty minutes. I need
- 29:25Speaker 1: more from these players.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Really, an early sub is one thing, right, we all
- 29:29Speaker 2: are going to have players in our team who make
- 29:30Speaker 2: an early sub. As a Jotta owner, what you're going
- 29:34Speaker 2: to say, hasn't Jotter stop poking off the pitch? Diaz
- 29:39Speaker 2: takes a nice little leisurely stroll. Jotter decides he's going
- 29:42Speaker 2: to be a bit quicker. What does that mean for
- 29:44Speaker 2: my appeal to It means he loses out on two
- 29:47Speaker 2: points because he's too eager to get off the field
- 29:50Speaker 2: in slower Jotter.
- 29:51Speaker 1: I mean, have you.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Ever seen that before? I mean we've we've seen players,
- 29:55Speaker 2: you know, coming off for fifty nine minutes. But you know,
- 29:57Speaker 2: two pretty popular assets in the AS and Jotta, and
- 30:00Speaker 2: one gets sixty because he walks a bit so off.
- 30:04Speaker 2: I mean when I lose him Mini League by by
- 30:06Speaker 2: you know, two points, I'm going to look back at this,
- 30:09Speaker 2: look back at this moment. Yeah, I mean it is
- 30:12Speaker 2: it is worry and you know you you've you've touched it,
- 30:14Speaker 2: you know, the subs bringing on Darwin and Gackpo. I'd
- 30:17Speaker 2: be a bit more worried if they came on and suddenly,
- 30:20Speaker 2: you know, Darwin got a goal and gack Po is
- 30:23Speaker 2: putting pressure. And I don't know about you, I think
- 30:25Speaker 2: the front three stays, stays the same for the next game.
- 30:28Speaker 1: I'm not too.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Worried about about Darwin or Gackpo coming in to that side,
- 30:34Speaker 2: but I think Jot has got to start delivering. You know,
- 30:39Speaker 2: he's he's seven point five million and I'm I'm genuinely
- 30:42Speaker 2: happy to have that that price point into the Liverpool attack.
- 30:45Speaker 2: But it's a couple of blanks now as a few
- 30:47Speaker 2: concerns about him dropping a bit deeper. He missed the
- 30:50Speaker 2: decentness chance I thought in that game and as well
- 30:53Speaker 2: kind of near the start. So yeah, I want to
- 30:56Speaker 2: see a bit more from him. But yeah, I'm I'm well,
- 30:59Speaker 2: you might completely disagree, but I think it's the same
- 31:01Speaker 2: front three again against Bournemouth, right, I think that. Yes,
- 31:04Speaker 2: I mean, we've got to keep an eye on Tuesday
- 31:06Speaker 2: and what happens in the Champions League. But the key
- 31:10Speaker 2: swinger for me in terms of why I think that
- 31:12Speaker 2: is that when these players are coming on for Liverpool,
- 31:15Speaker 2: we're just not seeing enough, right, We're not seeing enough
- 31:17Speaker 2: and okay, gack po, I think maybe gets a bit
- 31:20Speaker 2: of a pass. Maybe, But you know, last season when
- 31:23Speaker 2: Newnes come on, he's a handful, wasn't he was? He
- 31:26Speaker 2: would hassle defenders, He'd be a real pain to play against.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I remember him coming on at Saint James's Park banging
- 31:31Speaker 2: a couple of goals against Newcastle and he was just
- 31:34Speaker 2: a handful. Whereas this season has come on so far
- 31:37Speaker 2: and he's just not doing anything in my opinion that
- 31:40Speaker 2: would suggest I want to be in this team. Never
- 31:42Speaker 2: mind that I should be in this team, and actually
- 31:44Speaker 2: they're not in forest goal. And I'm not singling him
- 31:46Speaker 2: out here because it was you know, Liverpool had plenty
- 31:48Speaker 2: of chances to stop the counter attack, but the goal
- 31:50Speaker 2: comes from the fact that he doesn't hold the ball up.
- 31:53Speaker 2: He loses possession too easily, and Forrest has hit us
- 31:56Speaker 2: on the break in the way that a spiritus and
- 31:58Speaker 2: so completely you know, it's a completely intentional with the
- 32:00Speaker 2: substitutions that he made. So you know, I'm not saying
- 32:03Speaker 2: Joss would have held it up better. You know, the
- 32:05Speaker 2: same scenario could have happened.
- 32:06Speaker 1: But I don't know. Maybe as a sort of Liverpool fan.
- 32:09Speaker 1: I'm expecting more from Noon as I'm expecting more when
- 32:11Speaker 1: he comes on to want to get in this team,
- 32:13Speaker 1: and I'm just not seeing it. So from that perspective, yes,
- 32:15Speaker 1: I agree with you. I want to see joss to
- 32:17Speaker 1: get in more minutes. I don't like him coming off
- 32:19Speaker 1: on fifty nine and fifty six seconds or whatever it was.
- 32:21Speaker 1: He come off on very frustrating. But I don't at
- 32:24Speaker 1: the minute, I don't see that his position is And
- 32:27Speaker 1: this might come back to haunt me, right because Gap
- 32:29Speaker 1: Poe can play there, so he's definitely going to definitely
- 32:33Speaker 1: can play there. Yeah, it's going to come back to bias,
- 32:35Speaker 1: this isn't it. But I just don't see that Jossa
- 32:38Speaker 1: doesn't get the start. I really don't. I really don't.
- 32:41Speaker 1: So Liverpool's one hundred percent record gone, but man City's
- 32:45Speaker 1: still intact. So Man City versus Brentford are just at it,
- 32:48Speaker 1: aren't they. They're just properly at it. Manchester City and
- 32:51Speaker 1: in particular early in Harlan. How much do we dedicate
- 32:54Speaker 1: to this podcast on early in Harland or do we
- 32:56Speaker 1: just well, here's a question for you. Then you and
- 32:59Speaker 1: I have both got him both captained in this week.
- 33:01Speaker 1: We'll talk about captaincy for next week a bit later
- 33:03Speaker 1: on in the pod maybe, But if you don't have him,
- 33:05Speaker 1: like they're still playing the FPR managers out there that
- 33:07Speaker 1: have gone, you know, Saka Palmer Salah haven't got Harland.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Do you bring him in this week against an elite
- 33:12Speaker 1: Arsenal defense or do you wait it out for Newcastle
- 33:16Speaker 1: next week or certainly Fulham at home in seven? Do
- 33:19Speaker 1: you sort of bust your team up to or break
- 33:21Speaker 1: your team up to get him in this week? Has
- 33:22Speaker 1: and and just admit that you've made a bit of
- 33:24Speaker 1: a mistake they're not having him, or or can you
- 33:25Speaker 1: hold off for a couple of weeks?
- 33:26Speaker 2: It is a great, a great question, I mean you
- 33:30Speaker 2: talked about I mean that is obviously they've they've won
- 33:32Speaker 2: every match man City, but they were really under it
- 33:35Speaker 2: again against Brentford. Initially, I think Pep said it was
- 33:38Speaker 2: the best performance he'd seen against them. Ever, didn't he
- 33:41Speaker 2: in the first week?
- 33:43Speaker 1: Couldn't it? Absolutely?
- 33:45Speaker 2: You know Vissa scord And and Boom I had a
- 33:47Speaker 2: good chance that was that was blocked by bareekae Lewis.
- 33:50Speaker 2: But then, like you say, once once it starts to
- 33:52Speaker 2: turn a little bit and City start growing.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Into the game.
- 33:55Speaker 2: And it's obviously it's an obvious thing to say, but
- 33:58Speaker 2: when you look at the team and how that team
- 34:01Speaker 2: is set up to get Earl Harlan goals and the
- 34:03Speaker 2: four mesic he I've never seen a player where you're
- 34:07Speaker 2: just so certain. I was so certain he was going
- 34:09Speaker 2: to get a goal against Brenford at least one. You know,
- 34:12Speaker 2: I know he had I know. Obviously there was the
- 34:14Speaker 2: really sad news about his his friend that passed away,
- 34:17Speaker 2: and there was some rumors wh wherever we'd start. I
- 34:19Speaker 2: just knew he'd start, and I knew he'd score. There
- 34:21Speaker 2: was no doubt in my mind. And when you've got
- 34:24Speaker 2: a player like that, you'd pay fifteen million for them,
- 34:28Speaker 2: You've hit the nail on the head, though, is do
- 34:31Speaker 2: you get him this week? Like if you're while carding
- 34:34Speaker 2: this week hard, isn't it? Do you have to have
- 34:36Speaker 2: him this week against against Arsenal? I still think you
- 34:39Speaker 2: do because I look at other players this week and
- 34:43Speaker 2: I look around other squads and you know, we've even talked,
- 34:47Speaker 2: We've talked about Watkins and or even he's just hit
- 34:50Speaker 2: two goals against Everton plays Wolves next to conceding goals
- 34:53Speaker 2: for fun and even him, I'm not totally sold on
- 34:56Speaker 2: because of Champions League and because of Duran and other players.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Who is there, like, who is there that is that
- 35:03Speaker 2: consistent that you can trust every week? And if you
- 35:06Speaker 2: haven't got Salah this week, I'd be going Harland captain,
- 35:10Speaker 2: which says a lot, even though it's Arsenal. So I'm
- 35:15Speaker 2: just going to say it. I think you've got to
- 35:17Speaker 2: have him. I think you've got to have him, And
- 35:18Speaker 2: if you've come four weeks without him, I think you
- 35:21Speaker 2: need to get him, even if it's this week, because
- 35:23Speaker 2: it's just it's just getting silly now, isn't it.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Yeah, it is, And I think it's what was telling
- 35:28Speaker 1: for me is that, you know, back to back hat
- 35:30Speaker 1: tricks and then a brace, and he's mad about that.
- 35:34Speaker 1: He's not happy with it, right, you see him at
- 35:36Speaker 1: the end of the game, right, he's fuming at Kevin
- 35:38Speaker 1: de Bruyne for not playing him for the hat trick
- 35:39Speaker 1: at the end there. And what does that tell me?
- 35:41Speaker 1: That tells me that despite getting what's that eight goals
- 35:44Speaker 1: in the last three games and now now nine overall
- 35:47Speaker 1: for the season, I think the next best I think
- 35:50Speaker 1: there's a bunch of players on like what three or four?
- 35:52Speaker 1: I think, you know, maybe Salah and a few others. Right,
- 35:54Speaker 1: So he's way ahead in like Golden bootstakes already Harland,
- 35:58Speaker 1: and he's not happy with himself, he's not happy with
- 36:00Speaker 1: the team once more. And I just think I agree
- 36:03Speaker 1: with you. I would not be going any further with
- 36:06Speaker 1: fl without bringing him in. And if you need a
- 36:08Speaker 1: wild card to bring him in, I think that's absolutely okay.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Could easily have been three again, could easier have been
- 36:14Speaker 1: three back to back hat tricks? And if we're talking
- 36:16Speaker 1: about player that's got three potentially three back to back
- 36:18Speaker 1: hat tricks, you just got to have him in FPL.
- 36:20Speaker 1: I think you just got to have him.
- 36:21Speaker 2: I guess the only thing is, if you have got Salah,
- 36:24Speaker 2: are you captain in Harland this week?
- 36:26Speaker 1: Well?
- 36:26Speaker 2: And the answer is probably know, right, So you could
- 36:31Speaker 2: maybe make the case for holding off one more week
- 36:34Speaker 2: and bringing him in game week six. But if you
- 36:36Speaker 2: are thinking about going off wild card in game week
- 36:39Speaker 2: six and you haven't got Harlan, just ask yourself, is
- 36:42Speaker 2: your team going to be that much different next week?
- 36:44Speaker 2: Because I mean the biggest thing I guess is Arsenal.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Maybe you don't want to be carrying two or three
- 36:48Speaker 2: Arsenal players away at City this week. But if you
- 36:51Speaker 2: can build it in a way where you could you
- 36:53Speaker 2: know you can play soccer, can't you, Or you know
- 36:56Speaker 2: you can play one of them and then maybe have
- 36:57Speaker 2: the other one on the bench and bring them in
- 36:59Speaker 2: for six. But yeah, I would. I would still be
- 37:04Speaker 2: very very tempted. I think to just get hard in
- 37:06Speaker 2: my team and you know, plan from plan from there.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I think you're right. I think you're right. In a
- 37:11Speaker 1: word for Brentford then, because they're fixtures in particular from
- 37:14Speaker 1: game week six, it's west Ham at home, Wolves at home,
- 37:17Speaker 1: Ipswich at home three of the following four from six
- 37:20Speaker 1: to nine, and even in a way trip to Spurs
- 37:22Speaker 1: doesn't look too bad given the slight malaise that's going
- 37:25Speaker 1: on at the top of herts Per Stadium right now.
- 37:26Speaker 1: So I don't mind bringing in well anybody from Brentford.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Quite frankly, twenty two saves from Flecking this season, more
- 37:32Speaker 1: than any other goalkeeper, so he's averaging six saves a game.
- 37:35Speaker 1: You've got Mbuemo, who, like you say, was denied a
- 37:38Speaker 1: big chance, denied a big opportunity by Rico Lewis early
- 37:40Speaker 1: on in that in that City game. The only question
- 37:43Speaker 1: mark I would have now is obviously Johann Vissa. I
- 37:46Speaker 1: think we get to see sort of concrete confirmation, but
- 37:48Speaker 1: it looks to be a few weeks out for him,
- 37:50Speaker 1: potentially problem that for Brentford. Does that put you off
- 37:53Speaker 1: them at all? Do they change their shape and change
- 37:56Speaker 1: the way that they attack? Because Johan Vissa might be
- 37:58Speaker 1: out for a last for the next few what do
- 38:01Speaker 1: you think about investing in Brentford? Maybe a head of spurs,
- 38:03Speaker 1: but certainly from six onwards.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, I think that is a blow if he's out,
- 38:07Speaker 2: because I think that partnership with him Boomo is working
- 38:09Speaker 2: really well. Yeah, and obviously Thiago is not not around,
- 38:13Speaker 2: so they're going to need to kind of reach chuck
- 38:15Speaker 2: of things. Maybe Carvalio comes in and Boomo is kind
- 38:18Speaker 2: of the lone striker up top, but that's a bit
- 38:20Speaker 2: of an untested partnership up there. I still think though,
- 38:24Speaker 2: it's in Boomer who you're probably going to want to
- 38:25Speaker 2: invest in anyway, given that he's on penalties, given at
- 38:29Speaker 2: the start of the season he's had, given that we've
- 38:31Speaker 2: seen him play, you know, in this kind of role
- 38:34Speaker 2: before and then he's done really well for us, so
- 38:36Speaker 2: I think he's the one you still go for it.
- 38:39Speaker 2: It does put me off him a bit if this
- 38:41Speaker 2: is out longer term though, so's it's definitely one to monitor,
- 38:45Speaker 2: but hopefully he's back or relatively relatively soon. I still
- 38:48Speaker 2: think I'd be going in Boomo from six though, like
- 38:51Speaker 2: you say, west Ham Wolves Man United, Ipswich, it's a
- 38:54Speaker 2: great run at the back. Though, the biggest news for
- 38:56Speaker 2: me was Van der Berg stepping in a millionaire. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 39:02Speaker 2: I'm going to get.
- 39:02Speaker 1: With a bark player that we know you well. I
- 39:05Speaker 1: wasn't going to mention Barker others that we mentioned him
- 39:07Speaker 1: last time year and I went here together and it's yeah,
- 39:09Speaker 1: he did go down too well. But yeah, another four
- 39:12Speaker 1: point zero that should definitely be on the radar. Player
- 39:13Speaker 1: that we know quite well at anfield, right, given that
- 39:15Speaker 1: they brought him from US young needs you know, needs
- 39:19Speaker 1: game time, needs experience, but you know, working under Thomas Frank,
- 39:23Speaker 1: not many better managers for him to learn his trade under.
- 39:27Speaker 1: So yeah, four point zero eyes on him if you are.
- 39:30Speaker 1: I don't know if I'd be making a sort of
- 39:31Speaker 1: you know, move for him and using a precious transfer.
- 39:34Speaker 1: But if you're wild carding this week or next, he's
- 39:36Speaker 1: probably a four point owner.
- 39:37Speaker 2: Right to steal, isn't he? And you know straight in
- 39:39Speaker 2: the team against Man City away. I mean that if
- 39:42Speaker 2: that doesn't show that he's been trusted with the starting
- 39:44Speaker 2: yeah with you know, and he did all right, So
- 39:48Speaker 2: I can't see any any way in which he doesn't.
- 39:50Speaker 2: He doesn't play unless they changed. You know, they were
- 39:52Speaker 2: three at the back, weren't they, So maybe they change
- 39:54Speaker 2: and change that up. But they've paid a lot of
- 39:57Speaker 2: money for him. I just I think he's just a
- 39:59Speaker 2: starter in that side, him and him and Collins. I
- 40:02Speaker 2: like Collins as as well. Is a little bit more
- 40:05Speaker 2: I would I would still be going to Vanderberg, I think,
- 40:08Speaker 2: and risking that. He's an option and Fleckan as well.
- 40:10Speaker 1: In goal.
- 40:11Speaker 2: You know, with the fixtures they've got, he's made the
- 40:12Speaker 2: most savorsable goalkeepers in the league. He's the he's the
- 40:16Speaker 2: alternative to Rya. You know, if you go Flecken and
- 40:18Speaker 2: Gabrielle for example, that's your that's maybe your your alternative.
- 40:22Speaker 1: All right, as that's Blaze through the rest of these
- 40:24Speaker 1: games because we're rapidly running out of time. Let's get
- 40:26Speaker 1: a Bournmouth versus Chelsea then not getting any easier to
- 40:30Speaker 1: know which Chelsea asset we should buy an FPL if any,
- 40:33Speaker 1: But it doesn't look as if it's Cole Palmer on
- 40:36Speaker 1: the basis of what we saw at the weekend, failed
- 40:38Speaker 1: to register a single shot or penalty box touch, only
- 40:41Speaker 1: an expected assistant x A of zero point not three
- 40:45Speaker 1: in that game. That is not enough for a ten
- 40:47Speaker 1: point six million pound FPL asset, isn't it.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Well, if it's not palm O, is it because because
- 40:52Speaker 2: Maadaway has got a hat trick and has now blanked
- 40:54Speaker 2: in two successive matches. Sancho didn't start but came on
- 40:58Speaker 2: and looked excellent, and you know that kind of maybe
- 41:00Speaker 2: eliminates netto as an option. But are you ready to
- 41:03Speaker 2: trust Sancho yet? You've got jail Foenix, you know, lurking around,
- 41:08Speaker 2: You've got in Cunku came off the bench and scored,
- 41:11Speaker 2: but surely no one's going to want to get burnt
- 41:13Speaker 2: by by that. Jacksons missed a load of chances.
- 41:16Speaker 1: They're just no no thing.
- 41:19Speaker 2: I think this is a short segment from me on Chelsea.
- 41:21Speaker 2: It was a good win, you know, even game either
- 41:25Speaker 2: team could have won it.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Chelsea won it. I'm not going anywhere near Yeah, difficult one,
- 41:29Speaker 1: isn't It wasn't a particularly inspiring performance from Chelsea. And
- 41:31Speaker 1: we did get a little bit from the Leicester fans
- 41:33Speaker 1: in the summer, didn't we about moresca ball and what
- 41:35Speaker 1: it might look like and is it that exciting a setup?
- 41:38Speaker 1: And maybe maybe we're just started to see a little
- 41:41Speaker 1: bit of that, you know, efficient if you know, not
- 41:44Speaker 1: very exciting football from Chelsea. I don't know. It's difficult
- 41:48Speaker 1: to know where to go to. And as someone that's
- 41:49Speaker 1: got Cole Palmer current in my team.
- 41:51Speaker 2: Oh have you?
- 41:52Speaker 1: I was going to ask, yeah, what you can do
- 41:53Speaker 1: with him? Yes? Well, I think it was a bit
- 41:57Speaker 1: of a knee jerk reaction. I'm trying to play a
- 41:58Speaker 1: little bit more aggressively this season. And when he got
- 42:01Speaker 1: the you know, the monster hall against Wolves, when he
- 42:04Speaker 1: assisted the three goals for Madaweke, I kind of went, okay,
- 42:08Speaker 1: well they've got you know, I think they had palace
- 42:09Speaker 1: at home and then borne with an a decent looking fixtures,
- 42:12Speaker 1: so I kind of went there and thought, right, let's
- 42:14Speaker 1: go after it aggressively and captained him in game week three,
- 42:17Speaker 1: missed therefore the Harland hat trick that he scored and
- 42:21Speaker 1: didn't captain Harlan and captain Palmer instead, So I do
- 42:23Speaker 1: feel like that's been a bit of a mistake. But yeah,
- 42:27Speaker 1: thinking about moving him on, thinking about moving him on
- 42:29Speaker 1: on the basis that that performance was not good at
- 42:32Speaker 1: the weekend, And yeah, we're not kind of sure where
- 42:34Speaker 1: to go to it Chelsea if we should at all,
- 42:36Speaker 1: because it's looking still a little bit just jointed, isn't it. Yeah,
- 42:38Speaker 1: I feel more worried about I'd feel more worried about
- 42:40Speaker 1: selling Corp Palma than I would about so on. That's
- 42:42Speaker 1: the only that's the only thing with that. I still
- 42:44Speaker 1: think Palmer could prop up at the time. But yeah,
- 42:47Speaker 1: it's a stressful, it's a stressful hold, I think just
- 42:50Speaker 1: given those those attacking those attacking options and what we're
- 42:54Speaker 1: really what we're really not seeing from from Chelsea.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Sanchez was excellent though. I think he's an option as
- 42:58Speaker 2: well at four point five. You know, a couple of
- 43:01Speaker 2: great saves obviously saved the penalty too, So yeah, another
- 43:05Speaker 2: option in goal potentially but yeah, I'd be staying away from.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Them, okay, And then from Southampton versus Manchester United perspective,
- 43:12Speaker 1: the early kickoff on Saturday, Amadialo was the one that
- 43:15Speaker 1: stood out for me here only five million in FPR
- 43:17Speaker 1: really impressed me. Actually, he created six chances in that game.
- 43:21Speaker 1: So I don't know, Everic ten Haggs starting to turn
- 43:24Speaker 1: a bit of a corner at MANU or are we
- 43:26Speaker 1: just saying Southampton again obviously could have been different if
- 43:29Speaker 1: they'd scored the penalty right good say from from a nana.
- 43:32Speaker 1: But was it Southampton poor in this game and we
- 43:35Speaker 1: should be continuing to target them in fpl or of
- 43:37Speaker 1: man United starting to get their act together a little bit?
- 43:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so, I think that there's there's still
- 43:42Speaker 2: the team to target for me. Then that's that's three.
- 43:44Speaker 1: That's six.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Yeah, three goals they've seen in the last two matches
- 43:47Speaker 2: is six goals in total. They started really well, but
- 43:50Speaker 2: that seems to be a bit of a theme with
- 43:52Speaker 2: them that they have these kind of quite good spells
- 43:54Speaker 2: and then and then concede and then it kind of
- 43:56Speaker 2: all just goes to to put or they don't take
- 43:58Speaker 2: a good chance, or they miss a penalty something like that,
- 44:00Speaker 2: and then then they allowed the other team to kind
- 44:02Speaker 2: of grow into the game. Diallo's keeping Gualaccha out of
- 44:05Speaker 2: the side, which I'm really surprised at. But he's he's
- 44:07Speaker 2: sort of started the season really strongly. I thought Rashford
- 44:09Speaker 2: looked better, a lot better is shot. Maybe he could
- 44:13Speaker 2: have been dealt with a little bit better by by Ramsdell.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so.
- 44:17Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, But generally speaking, I had a couple of
- 44:19Speaker 2: shots and looked a bit liveler the player I was
- 44:21Speaker 2: most impressive with Zerxi. It was the biggest underachiever good Yeah,
- 44:25Speaker 2: biggest und treat when it came to x G one
- 44:27Speaker 2: point one four. But yeah, really lively in that game,
- 44:30Speaker 2: a couple of really good shots, kind of buzzing around.
- 44:33Speaker 2: If he can add a few goals to his game,
- 44:34Speaker 2: I wonder if he could be an option for us.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so. I think so. He's looked even
- 44:38Speaker 1: in that Remember the first game game week one? Would
- 44:40Speaker 1: he come on and got the winner against Fulham? Didn't he?
- 44:42Speaker 1: And he and he looked as if he wanted he's
- 44:43Speaker 1: you know, he looked full of energy, full of passion,
- 44:46Speaker 1: full of enthusiasm for the game and I like to
- 44:48Speaker 1: see that. I like to see that he hasn't kind
- 44:49Speaker 1: of he's not taking his time to get you to
- 44:51Speaker 1: the Premier League, and he looks up for it. He
- 44:53Speaker 1: looks physical as well, So yeah, don't mind him at all.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Could be an option, Yeah, absolutely could be an option.
- 44:59Speaker 1: Where so we need to go. Let's just quickly discuss
- 45:02Speaker 1: a couple of forwards that might be now question marks
- 45:06Speaker 1: for a few managers. I want to talk about Moonise
- 45:08Speaker 1: at Fulham and I want to talk about Esac from
- 45:10Speaker 1: Newcastle as well. Let's finish up by talking about those.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Guys and Pedro as well. That's the three games. That's
- 45:15Speaker 2: the free games left we can talk about. There we
- 45:17Speaker 2: go the free single injured forwards.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Well, let's talk. Let's talk about those free then in
- 45:22Speaker 1: from a forward perspective. Then so Eesak with the eye injury,
- 45:25Speaker 1: which is what we think he's got, is what Eddie
- 45:26Speaker 1: House said he's got and we've got to keep an
- 45:28Speaker 1: eye on whether that's a serious one or not. Mooni's
- 45:31Speaker 1: doesn't get the start and only one goal from his
- 45:33Speaker 1: last thirty five shots in the box was a stat
- 45:35Speaker 1: Live was researching just coming up coming onto this onto
- 45:38Speaker 1: this pod one goal from thirty five shots, and then
- 45:41Speaker 1: of course you know he brings a rout Jiminez in
- 45:43Speaker 1: gets the goal straight away. It's not good for mine owners.
- 45:46Speaker 1: And then Jo Pedro, yes, a little bit of a
- 45:48Speaker 1: knock obviously went away with Brazil. Their play to him
- 45:51Speaker 1: gets his gets the call up to the international side.
- 45:53Speaker 1: But there's three forwards there that we all have a
- 45:56Speaker 1: little bit of a question mark over. Now how do
- 45:58Speaker 1: you feel about them? Yeah, Moon is the most worrying one.
- 46:01Speaker 1: I think, I don't.
- 46:02Speaker 2: I don't know if you agree, but in terms of
- 46:04Speaker 2: I do. The others are knocks and little injuries. But
- 46:08Speaker 2: I'd be amazed if Pegro didn't come straight back into
- 46:10Speaker 2: the Brighton's side. I thought we really as a bright
- 46:12Speaker 2: and front we we really missed him in that game.
- 46:15Speaker 2: Iak is like the only striker they've got so and
- 46:17Speaker 2: he's brilliant, so obviously he's coming straight back in when
- 46:21Speaker 2: when he's fit. Moon is though, why why would they
- 46:23Speaker 2: bring him back in? Like you say, he's just loads
- 46:25Speaker 2: of chances him and as has come in and score
- 46:28Speaker 2: straight away. They've got other options that can play. So
- 46:31Speaker 2: I think if you've got if you've got moon is
- 46:33Speaker 2: he would be priority sell for me this week, whereas
- 46:36Speaker 2: the other two are definite holds.
- 46:38Speaker 1: Do you feel same? Yes? I do. Yeah, I feel
- 46:40Speaker 1: like smith Row who chipped in again this week and
- 46:42Speaker 1: I saw him coming off your bench. That was a
- 46:44Speaker 1: jammy one, just a bit smith smith Row coming in
- 46:47Speaker 1: with the seven. He looks you know he's chipping in,
- 46:50Speaker 1: isn't He looks kind of aren't going to say talis
- 46:52Speaker 1: manic yet for Fulham, but certainly everything seems to be
- 46:54Speaker 1: going through him. But I do want to give a
- 46:55Speaker 1: shout out to a diamond trail as well. Only five
- 46:58Speaker 1: million in the game. Statistically he has is the most
- 47:01Speaker 1: threatening full of ATTACKO eleven shots, three big chances and
- 47:03Speaker 1: twenty penalty area touches so far this season. So yeah,
- 47:07Speaker 1: maybe going a little bit under the radar and drama
- 47:09Speaker 1: trial Ray, but no, can't be going back there watching trial.
- 47:18Speaker 1: Come on. I love him, I love him.
- 47:20Speaker 2: I think he's brilliant. I love literally everything about the man.
- 47:24Speaker 2: He's absolutely fantastic. But he is not a proven fpl
- 47:29Speaker 2: asset And you know, I think that game proved it.
- 47:36Speaker 1: To play well.
- 47:37Speaker 2: I just see that that game proved what he's about.
- 47:39Speaker 2: You know, he's so threatening, he's bursting through, he's out
- 47:42Speaker 2: mustling everyone.
- 47:43Speaker 1: But he just can't.
- 47:45Speaker 2: He just cannot get that fine love slamming my keyboard
- 47:47Speaker 2: down in frustration with him. You know, I can't imagine,
- 47:51Speaker 2: you know, watching him as a manager must be one thing,
- 47:52Speaker 2: but as an FBL manager, it's it's it's another thing.
- 47:56Speaker 1: He's so frustrating. Five million is a good price. But no, no, no, no,
- 48:00Speaker 1: not for me. All right, well, I can't tempt you
- 48:02Speaker 1: with a damatrialray. Tell me what what might tempt you? Then?
- 48:05Speaker 1: Going into Game week five, quick thoughts on transfers and
- 48:07Speaker 1: captaincy for next week.
- 48:08Speaker 2: I got to be honestly, is a boring one for me.
- 48:10Speaker 2: I think I'm rolling. I'm rolling this week. I've got
- 48:13Speaker 2: no Arsenal in my team currently. I'm obviously going to
- 48:15Speaker 2: want something in game week six for those two promoted
- 48:17Speaker 2: teams back to back. If I don't roll, I'm probably
- 48:21Speaker 2: locking myself into a World card in six. So I
- 48:24Speaker 2: think if I roll, I might be able to get away,
- 48:25Speaker 2: even if it's a minus four to bring in some
- 48:27Speaker 2: master or not have the World card. If I was
- 48:29Speaker 2: going to make a transfer, I would probably be getting
- 48:31Speaker 2: rid of Robinson this week, which I don't know. He
- 48:34Speaker 2: obviously started this season really strongly, really high ownership. His
- 48:36Speaker 2: price has gone up to four point seven. But Newcastle
- 48:39Speaker 2: forest Man City Villa next four games, Yeah, looking tricky
- 48:44Speaker 2: and you know there's some decent options. You know, you
- 48:46Speaker 2: grab Lewis Dunk, you could grab Leif Davis. I was
- 48:49Speaker 2: really impressed with again Brighten as well Twich defensively looked
- 48:53Speaker 2: decent or you know, Vanderburgh could be could come in
- 48:57Speaker 2: next week after after Spurs, So yeah, it would be
- 49:02Speaker 2: a defensive move. I'm probably not going to do not
- 49:04Speaker 2: going to do anything about How about yourself?
- 49:06Speaker 1: The opposite, actually the opposite. I'm thinking about that with
- 49:08Speaker 1: double change and the only played the wild card a
- 49:10Speaker 1: couple of weeks ago. I'm thinking of a double change.
- 49:12Speaker 1: So unimpressed was I by Cole Palmer, and so impressed
- 49:16Speaker 1: was I by Olie Watkins that I've got. I've got
- 49:18Speaker 1: currently Cole Palmer and a non playing four point five
- 49:20Speaker 1: in my side, and I've got a bit of money
- 49:22Speaker 1: in the bank and I can swap Palmer and the
- 49:24Speaker 1: non playing four or five for Mbuemo and Watkins right now,
- 49:28Speaker 1: which I do kind of like, given that Mbremo's fixtures
- 49:31Speaker 1: do look really really good, that the visa thing has
- 49:34Speaker 1: given me pause for thought a little bit. But I
- 49:37Speaker 1: just like the sound of both of those the way
- 49:39Speaker 1: that you know, everything we've discussed about Palmer and listening,
- 49:42Speaker 1: You've got west Ham away Brighton and then Forest at home.
- 49:45Speaker 1: They had reasonable fixtures right that could absolutely come back
- 49:48Speaker 1: to haunt me, no doubt about it getting Palmer out.
- 49:50Speaker 1: But it would give me a more rounded squad as well.
- 49:53Speaker 1: I mean that I wouldn't have to rely on the
- 49:55Speaker 1: likes of Robinson at the back quite so much, as
- 49:57Speaker 1: you say the fixtures look difficult for him going forward.
- 50:00Speaker 1: You wouldn't have to rely quite so much on Morgan Rodgers,
- 50:02Speaker 1: who we haven't discussed yet on today's pod. But no
- 50:06Speaker 1: panic on Morgan Rodgers. The underline stats still look pretty good.
- 50:08Speaker 1: He's still getting in decent areas, but he's not really
- 50:10Speaker 1: bringing home the points. So it would mean a bit
- 50:13Speaker 1: more of a rounded squad for me. Wouldn't have to
- 50:15Speaker 1: necessarily rely on some of the more squad players like
- 50:17Speaker 1: Robinson and Rogers. I just like it. I'm just feeling it.
- 50:21Speaker 1: Watkins and Mbemo for Palmer and well at the moment
- 50:24Speaker 1: it's wee Joe who currently isn't even in the league
- 50:27Speaker 1: as a four point five forward. So yeah, maybe those
- 50:30Speaker 1: two and then I think for Captaincy, I think if
- 50:31Speaker 1: I had Mo, I think I'd be going for Mo.
- 50:33Speaker 1: I think if if I had him, i'd go there.
- 50:35Speaker 1: But with those two moves, I'm likely to go again
- 50:38Speaker 1: without most Salah into game week five. And if I do,
- 50:40Speaker 1: then it will either be Harland because Harland, or if
- 50:44Speaker 1: I bring Watkins in, maybe it's Watkins. You know, maybe
- 50:47Speaker 1: it's only Watkins captain. Yeah, I mean, I guess the
- 50:49Speaker 1: advice is And you know we said this a lot
- 50:51Speaker 1: on this podcast. I think, particularly this week with the
- 50:53Speaker 1: Champions League starting with the League Cup as well the
- 50:57Speaker 1: next round of that. You've got Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal
- 51:00Speaker 1: Villa all in Championship action, Brentford, Everton, Southampton, Fulham Palace,
- 51:04Speaker 1: Man United, Brighton wolf Spurs all every week Cup, everyone
- 51:08Speaker 1: basically playing save those transfers, be patient, wait till the
- 51:11Speaker 1: end of the week, and then then go from there. Yeah.
- 51:14Speaker 1: I couldn't agree more. While you're waiting for those matches
- 51:16Speaker 1: to conclude, don't forget to join Jules, Kelly, and Sam
- 51:19Speaker 1: On this week's FPR Pod. They'll be looking ahead to
- 51:21Speaker 1: Game Week five and.
- 51:22Speaker 2: If you haven't joined the f PO pod mini League,
- 51:24Speaker 2: the coded Q seven
- 51:26Speaker 1: Y C zero Bye guys, Thanks has See ely Babe,
