- 0:02Hey, welcome to the City Point Church podcast.
- 0:04Thanks for joining us. Every day is an opportunity to
- 0:07take hold of. So we hope this message inspires
- 0:10you and build your faith, but it helps you have more of a God
- 0:13perspective for your day. Enjoy.
- 0:17Partnering with God, the Bible says that he who the sunsets
- 0:22free is free is free. Indeed, it's good news.
- 0:29Here's a question for you all. Free from what exactly?
- 0:37For most of us here, we have accepted Jesus to be our
- 0:41personal Lord and Saviour, and so we understand that we have
- 0:45been saved. We've been saved from sin, we've
- 0:48been saved from condemnation, and we've been saved from guilt.
- 0:53Once we walked in darkness, now we walk in light.
- 0:56We walked with the heaviness and the shame of sin and now we have
- 1:01been washed clean, pure white as snow.
- 1:05This is good news, right? This is great news.
- 1:09We used to walk around with that big blanket of, you know, yuck,
- 1:14and it's been removed and we now walk in the freedom of the
- 1:19purity that has has been given to us by the beautiful blood of
- 1:22Jesus. But is that where it stops?
- 1:28Don't get me wrong, it's great news.
- 1:31This is good news for you. This is good news for our
- 1:34region. It's good news for our
- 1:35community. But are there further freedoms
- 1:39in Jesus to experience? Does the good news just stop
- 1:43there? Is there more that is made
- 1:47available to us? God is a good father and He has
- 1:51prepared wonderful gifts for us. If you didn't know this book
- 1:57here His word. I say this pretty much every
- 2:02time I preach, so you should be all prepped on it.
- 2:04The word was with God and the word was God is God.
- 2:08So when we open up God's word, it's literally him speaking to
- 2:13us, right? Like I don't know what God says.
- 2:17He never talks to me. Open it in this book, in His
- 2:24word, Him speaking to you. There are 8000 plus promises,
- 2:308000 plus promises from God, promises of good, not evil,
- 2:37promises to give you a plan and a hope and a future.
- 2:41That's in Jeremiah. The question is, how badly do
- 2:46you want them? Years ago.
- 2:51About 7 years ago. How long have we been married?
- 2:5427, Yeah. Thank you.
- 2:59Yeah, I really like being married.
- 3:03That was a good decision. About 20.
- 3:06Sorry. About 7 years ago we were coming
- 3:08up to our 20th wedding anniversary and we're all
- 3:12tossing about what should we do and, and some discussions came
- 3:16in and around it. We want to celebrate this
- 3:18because this is a milestone for us.
- 3:20And out came this notion. Why don't why don't we do a trip
- 3:25to Italy? Anyway, so this suggestion came
- 3:28out, I'm pretty sure it came from me and then there was an
- 3:33agreement made. We went, let's do it.
- 3:36And so we had an agreement. We're like, we're going to
- 3:39Italy. From that moment, my everything
- 3:42changed. My language changed.
- 3:45I'm like, I'm going to Italy. I don't have tickets yet.
- 3:48I don't have the money yet, but I've got a plan and an
- 3:50agreement. And so my language is like we
- 3:53are on our way to Italy. There was no obstacle that I
- 3:58didn't see obstacles. I saw opportunities to, you
- 4:01know, for, for answers. We need someone to look after
- 4:04the kids. Wow.
- 4:05Let's have a look around and see who's in our world, my
- 4:08everything. When we are on our way to Italy.
- 4:13John was actually, he became quite sick right before we were
- 4:17going. He became really sick, quite
- 4:19deathly sick. And I, I remember I came along
- 4:22as a Good Wife. I'm like, honey, you are so
- 4:25sick, maybe you just over work, didn't need a holiday.
- 4:28How's it only sound? I was motivated.
- 4:32I made sure that to pay very careful, careful attention to
- 4:38the conditions. It's like you need to get a
- 4:40passport. No worries.
- 4:42Here. Come and take my photo.
- 4:44No, no, don't smile. OK, we'll take another one.
- 4:46I was good for the conditions. You need insurance.
- 4:50No problem. I will meet every condition
- 4:52because I am on my way to Italy. And on my hardest days, I still
- 4:58have the memory of that cannoli. The cannoli, right?
- 5:04It was so good. My everything was in agreements
- 5:11with that decision. I had congruence.
- 5:16So we are invited to partner with God in his promises.
- 5:24And you might say, how do I partner with God, the things
- 5:28that he desires for me? And He's a good God, He's a good
- 5:33father, He has good things in store for you.
- 5:36So how do I come into agreement and partner with him?
- 5:41And it's through the power of agreement.
- 5:46If you could just bring up on the screen 2nd Corinthians 120
- 5:50to 22. If you want to read along in
- 5:52your Bibles, you may or look up on the screen behind us for all
- 5:56of God's promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a
- 6:00resounding yes and through Christ.
- 6:04Ow everybody here say ow my Amen, which means yes.
- 6:13It ascends to God for his glory. It is God who enables us along
- 6:18with you to stand firm for Christ.
- 6:20He has commissioned us and he has identified us as his own by
- 6:24placing Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment
- 6:28that guarantees everything he has promised through Jesus.
- 6:33God's promises are yes. If he's promised it, it's yes.
- 6:40And our job is Amen. Amen means let it be so or I
- 6:49agree. Our Amen ascends to God for His
- 6:52glory. God's promise for you is yes,
- 6:57sure thing it's done. It's a big yes.
- 7:03So we get to talk about what agreement looks like.
- 7:07Our part is to agree with what God says.
- 7:12The title of the message this morning is congruence of
- 7:16agreement. So the Bible speaks really
- 7:21clearly on the power of unity on congruence of agreement.
- 7:26You can look up such verses like Matthew 1819 to 20, Amos 33 or
- 7:32Genesis 11/8. When agreement is unified, the
- 7:38Bible says that it will be done, it will be done, that nothing
- 7:44will be impossible for them. And I want you just to think on
- 7:47that first for a moment. That's actually found in
- 7:49Genesis. It says nothing will be
- 7:51impossible for them. That actually when when God said
- 7:56that it wasn't in an overly positive context that was with
- 8:01the Tower of Babel. He's like, nothing's going to be
- 8:03impossible for these guys because they're in congruence of
- 8:06agreement, right? So James, hold on to that
- 8:11thought. James 16 versus 5 to 7 reads, if
- 8:15you can bring that up on the screen, do not waver.
- 8:19For a person with divided loyalty is unsettled as a wave
- 8:22of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.
- 8:25Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
- 8:29James is actually trying to to bring understanding about how to
- 8:35receive what you pray for, about how to access God's promises.
- 8:40And he's like, this inconstancy is not going to bring it about
- 8:45for you. So we've got to address
- 8:46inconstancy. Like I agree with what God says,
- 8:50but I also agree with this, which is contradictory to what
- 8:54God says. So when we agree, there's got to
- 8:57be this unification of agreement and then nothing will be
- 9:02impossible. Here's the thing about agreement
- 9:07I just mentioned in Genesis with the Tower of Babel wasn't an
- 9:10overly positive that nothing would be impossible for them.
- 9:15Agreement is amoral. Think it through for a moment.
- 9:21What do I mean by that? I mean agreements can be made
- 9:25that is super godly and aligned with God's word.
- 9:28Agreements can be made that is super ungodly access to the
- 9:34demonic realm. Who wants to come and kill and
- 9:37steal and destroy your life. But an agreement made, it's like
- 9:41a spiritual contract in the spiritual realm.
- 9:46They can be godly. They can be ungodly.
- 9:49Think about a courtroom. Now decisions have to be reached
- 9:58by a jury. There has to be an agreement
- 10:01made for the outcome. So tell me this.
- 10:06Have we experienced in our justice system someone who's
- 10:10murdered somebody and then a jury has decided, yes, they have
- 10:14murdered somebody and we've seen justice and they've gone to
- 10:17jail. Has that happened?
- 10:19Yes, that has happened. Have we also seen in our justice
- 10:23system people who are innocent, but a jury has come together and
- 10:30made a decision that they didn't even get to have any part of,
- 10:34but this agreement has now locked someone in a cell away
- 10:39from life. Agreement is powerful.
- 10:44Agreement is powerful, whether godly or whether ungodly, and
- 10:49it's the shame in the spiritual realm.
- 10:52Agreement is a spiritual contract contract, right?
- 10:58So whether godly, whether evil, sorry, whether godly or whether
- 11:01evil, what we agree with is often what our faith is carried
- 11:08on you, you believe it, right? So if you agreeing with
- 11:13something, you usually believe that agreement.
- 11:16So our faith is now carried on agreements, OK.
- 11:22And we've got to be careful what we make agreements with because
- 11:25faith, faith paves the pathway to what you will receive, what
- 11:32you believe. Your faith paves the pathway to
- 11:36what you're going to receive. So we've got to be very careful
- 11:40about what we come into agreement with.
- 11:44Agreements hold power, whether godly or ungodly.
- 11:50So when we're partnering with God in his desire, in his
- 11:54promises, which are found in his words, we want to ensure that
- 11:59our everything is in congruence and lining up with what he says.
- 12:05So when we say something, for example, when we're we're
- 12:09looking for healing, you might come and grab a verse in God's
- 12:12word in his promise. Let's look at Jeremiah 3017.
- 12:16It's not up on the screen, but says I will restore you to
- 12:19health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord.
- 12:22So we've got God's word, which is his will, which is his yes,
- 12:30which is his promise. So this is a promise that we can
- 12:34now declare, claim, and hold onto.
- 12:38While we're doing that, we want to ensure that our everything
- 12:43lines up with this promise, lines up with healing.
- 12:46What do I mean? So I want to ensure that what
- 12:50comes out of my mouth is in agreeance with God's promise.
- 12:56But sometimes we can then come and declare, I always get sick.
- 13:02Oh, I've just made an agreement in the spiritual realm or my
- 13:06cursed body. You're declaring God's word that
- 13:11says I'm going to experience healing and restoration.
- 13:14But you've got an agreement over here that says now my body's
- 13:17cursed. There's an incongruence of
- 13:21agreement. We want our everything to grab
- 13:24hold of what God says and walk in agreement with him.
- 13:31What about going to a doctor? If we're if our bodies are
- 13:38unwell, we can pray to God and we can claim this scripture.
- 13:43God's promise is yes. Now when we pray for people for
- 13:48healing, many times, many times people experience the
- 13:52supernatural ministering presence of God that see eyes
- 13:57open, that see legs grow, that see backs healed, that see
- 14:01cancer cancelled. And sometimes it doesn't.
- 14:07Why? I have no idea.
- 14:11I have no idea, no idea. I do know that the more people
- 14:17we pray for them will get healed and experience that supernatural
- 14:21healing and miraculous power from God.
- 14:24And so if you're on this altar and you're coming into a line
- 14:27with God's Word, we're going to pray for you and we're going to
- 14:30believe for healing, right? So if you don't get the
- 14:34miraculous in the moment, it is then congruent to go and get
- 14:40healing. Go and see your doctor.
- 14:44Actually, there it's their job description to bring healing and
- 14:48restoration. And then you go, Lord, I'm
- 14:51claiming healing, I'm claiming restoration.
- 14:54I pray you don't even make it to the doctor 'cause he's
- 14:56miraculously healed your body. But if you do, I pray then that
- 15:00the wisdom of God would be on that doctor to find out exactly
- 15:04what's going on in your body. I'm going to be congruent and
- 15:07declare healing like God word said.
- 15:10But sometimes if it doesn't happen the way we expect, God
- 15:14should move. Hey, I'm on the altar.
- 15:18I'm praying for healing, and you didn't give me the miraculous
- 15:21healing right here. That's it, I'm out.
- 15:24I'll go and make an agreement with my body's always cursed or
- 15:29you can hold on to God's promise and go, OK, it didn't happen
- 15:33here. Where is it?
- 15:35Where is it Lord? Because I've made an agreement
- 15:38with your word that says I'm going to be well, I'm going to
- 15:42be restored. I'm going to be healed in Jesus
- 15:46name. So going to your doctor, Luke.
- 15:50Luke was a doctor in the Bible who wrote the book of Luke, Luke
- 15:54Paul says to Timothy, I believe it's like go and and have some
- 15:59medicine and wine to help with your body so that you can be
- 16:03strong for the work of the ministry.
- 16:05It's literally a doctor's job to bring about health and
- 16:09restoration. So I am going to pray for the
- 16:11miraculous, but if it doesn't happen the way I think it
- 16:15should, I my eyes are going to be congruent with the promise of
- 16:20God. This all right?
- 16:25You might have the flu and go Lords, I claim this promise of
- 16:30restoration, of healing. I'm walking in and in
- 16:34declaration with this. But on the way home, you then
- 16:37grab McDonald's, followed by cheesecake and a thick shake,
- 16:41and then you go home to chocolate pudding.
- 16:45Do you see the incongruence? There's an incongruence of
- 16:50agreement. So when we declare God's
- 16:52promises, we want to make sure our everything lines up and is
- 16:57in agreement with what he says. God's word is power and we get
- 17:01so tripped up on the how that we lose sight of it or get
- 17:05discouraged. It's like, no, hang on to that
- 17:07thing. It's it's how if it's possible,
- 17:10then how you hear the words. I can't, but God's Word says I
- 17:17can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, but I can't
- 17:22because I'm too old. I can't because I'm too broken.
- 17:27I can't because I don't have time.
- 17:30I can't because I don't have money.
- 17:33I can't because I'm too disabled.
- 17:35And we've got all of these agreements going on that are
- 17:38contrary to what God's Word says.
- 17:42So a better a better question would be if God says I can, how
- 17:48could I? If it's if you say it's
- 17:51possible, Lord, how could I congruence of agreement.
- 17:56Is this OK? All right, Can I have some
- 18:02water, please? Thank you.
- 18:08On next to you, Pastor Graham, thank you.
- 18:12He's got his hands full. There's a demonstration coming.
- 18:19Another example of this would actually be in in provision in
- 18:26Malachi 310. It says bring your full tithe
- 18:29into the storehouse that there may be food in my house and
- 18:33thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts.
- 18:36If I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour out a
- 18:40blessing until there is no more need, so we can pray the
- 18:44scripture and go God, I come into agreement with this
- 18:48scripture. I'm believing that the windows
- 18:51of heaven will be open to me, but then we don't meet the
- 18:55agreement. We don't meet the condition.
- 18:59Often where there's a promise in God's word, there's usually a
- 19:01condition. Just meet the condition.
- 19:05And so we're claiming in Jesus name.
- 19:08But there's an incongruent of agreement.
- 19:14Faith and actions are carried on belief, right?
- 19:19So we want to have our belief congruent with God's promises
- 19:23out everything to come into a line.
- 19:27I'm actually going to do a demonstration for you just to
- 19:29try and, and make this a little bit clearer.
- 19:31May I please have my 5 people? I've got pastor Well, Pastor
- 19:34Gray, if you could just come and line up here on the side.
- 19:39Believe I've got Chris Ebony, just if you could come and line
- 19:42up on the side there, I'll call you over.
- 19:44I don't need the lid, I don't think.
- 19:47All right. And so if I could have come up
- 19:49on the screen, please behind me the identity here we go.
- 19:55So God's word here says, according to God's word, I am
- 19:59complete in him loved eternally. I'm not condemned, I'm forgiven,
- 20:06pure and righteous, salt of the earth, fearfully and wonderfully
- 20:11made. I am a child of God.
- 20:14This is This is good news. These are God's promises to us
- 20:19and I'm here, I want to say yes, I want my identity formed in
- 20:25Jesus so I can walk in confidence, so I can walk in
- 20:29peace and in a sound mind. But then comes along Pastor
- 20:34Graham. Well, actually it's not Pastor
- 20:36Graham. We have insignificance comes and
- 20:38features and so it ties ties around here.
- 20:44OK, you can go and stand over there and then I've got what do
- 20:47we have here? Not enough.
- 20:48So if you could hold this awesome and right to the end and
- 20:57just stand back. Thank you.
- 20:58Then I've got unlovable that comes up and then divinity that
- 21:07comes up. If you could just thank you.
- 21:12And what have I got here? Unworthy.
- 21:17And so I've got God's promises up here in my identity with him.
- 21:23This is what I want to go for. Hang on.
- 21:34And I can't reach it. I need my scissors, please.
- 21:37Yeah. Can we all just do a shuffle
- 21:39over this way? I forgot them.
- 21:43This is actually quite, quite hard.
- 21:46And so insignificance comes up. This might feature through being
- 21:51overlooked. This might feature through an
- 21:56event where you you come and make meaning and say I'm
- 22:01unimportant. I, I don't, I'm not important in
- 22:05in this ministry. And so you make a new assigned
- 22:09meaning with it, and you've got an agreement.
- 22:11And so I've got to come in and go, well, what does God's word
- 22:14say? It says, I'm pretty sure here it
- 22:17says that I'm the salt of the earth.
- 22:19If I'm the salt of the earth, that means I'm one of the most
- 22:23important assets in the Kingdom of God.
- 22:26I hold great significance and I hold great importance.
- 22:30So, Lord, I come into agreement with what you say.
- 22:34And I'm sorry that I made agreement with this thing.
- 22:36I'm going to cut this thing off right now in the name of Jesus,
- 22:41out of my life. Then I see not enough.
- 22:44It's getting a little bit. All right, I'm doing OK.
- 22:47Not enough. At some point, something may
- 22:51have happened that told you you weren't enough.
- 22:54It could have been a parent that said your grades are not enough.
- 22:58You will never amount to anything.
- 23:00You are stupid, you're not talented, you're not skillful
- 23:05enough. But God's word here says I'm
- 23:09complete in Him. So Lord, I want to come into
- 23:13agreement with what you say you. This is a lie.
- 23:18I can see that now, God. So I break agreement.
- 23:21I'm sorry, Lord, that I said that I'm not enough.
- 23:24And by the spiritual blood of Jesus, I come in and I cut this
- 23:28tie. I break agreement with not
- 23:31enough and I declare I'm completing him.
- 23:34Whoo Hoo, Hoo. I'm feeling good.
- 23:37OK, move over here so everyone can see Unlovable.
- 23:41Something may have happened on your line that says I'm
- 23:44unlovable. Someone may have left.
- 23:48It could have been a parent. It could have been a partner.
- 23:53This could have been a child. Something in your line said you
- 23:58are not worthy to be loved. No one could love you and sat in
- 24:04your corner and you said everybody hates me, nobody loves
- 24:07me and start eating worms. And you can sit in your corner
- 24:12and stay stuck. Although God's promises are
- 24:16here, the good news for me to walk into, you can stay stuck
- 24:23with this agreement or by the blood of Jesus.
- 24:26I come in Lord, and I break agreement with this.
- 24:29I thank you Lord, that you said I am loved eternally, which
- 24:34means you loved me before I even made it here.
- 24:37From my mother's womb. You have had a plan and a
- 24:40purpose for my life. You have seen me, You have known
- 24:44me, You have loved me and eternally.
- 24:46So. I break agreement with this lie
- 24:49in the name of Jesus by the blood of Jesus out of my life.
- 24:55Oh, OK. Now this one, this one has got
- 24:59some stuff going on here in your process of identity.
- 25:04You might have been feeling not sure where I fit.
- 25:08So you've gone to a fortune teller to try and get someone
- 25:11else try and find something else to fill that space.
- 25:14This is fortune telling tarot cards agreement with Halloween
- 25:18that it's OK. It's not OK, I'm not going to
- 25:23tell you Halloween and and making an agreement that it's OK
- 25:26is OK. It's not OK.
- 25:29And so by I've got good news. If you've done that, you're
- 25:31like, oh, I feel like I need to repent.
- 25:34It's good news. You can break agreement with
- 25:36this right now in the name of Jesus, by the blood of Jesus, I
- 25:41break the power of this thing. I'm sorry, Lord, often these
- 25:47lines here, these spiritual contracts, spiritual contracts,
- 25:52agreements of spiritual contracts that hold power that
- 25:56will stop you from moving forward.
- 25:59There's oppression and there's power in and around them.
- 26:02When we break these, often there will be the need for repentance
- 26:05or forgiveness. OK, so I've made an agreement
- 26:09with divination. I'm sorry that I did that Lord.
- 26:13I don't want access to the supernatural realm that has
- 26:17nothing to do with you, with those creatures and pests that
- 26:20are here to kill and steal and destroy my life.
- 26:24So through my repentance, Lord, and by the power of your blood
- 26:28and by the power of Your name, I break any agreement I made with
- 26:32this and I cast you out of my life in the name of Jesus.
- 26:39And what have we got over here? Oh, unworthy.
- 26:42Actually, you know what? Let this one go like fully long
- 26:46I want to do. Hey, No, it's not.
- 26:47You've got heaps more there. Oh, that you've got somebody
- 26:49else's. All right, forgive us.
- 26:51We have a long friends as well as like working together.
- 26:56So unworthy. What I want to point out about
- 26:59not you. No, I just was giving you.
- 27:05OK. All right, we've got this.
- 27:06The word unworthy there. What I want to point out about
- 27:10these spiritual agreements just before I send Pastor Phil off
- 27:14the stage. These agreements sometimes could
- 27:18go beyond the trees. What do I mean by that?
- 27:21I mean, sometimes you don't even know their name because they
- 27:24were agreements made when you weren't even in the room.
- 27:28These are generational curses. These are agreements that have
- 27:32been made generations ago, before you were even born.
- 27:37Things like Freemasonry abuse that happened decades ago that
- 27:42has now carried a line through your bloodline.
- 27:46Blood is actually a currency in the spiritual world, which is
- 27:50why the blood of Jesus is so powerful.
- 27:53But these things are carried through a bloodline.
- 27:56Curses that we have to break agreement with.
- 27:59So unworthiness might feature from way back when, or it could
- 28:03feature through our own life. This often comes through abuse.
- 28:08It's so unfair. You, you didn't even have a
- 28:11choice in the matter. This was an agreement, like I
- 28:14said in the courtroom, that was made on behalf of you, that has
- 28:18locked you in a cell and kept you away from life.
- 28:23But I have good news. The blood of Jesus, the purpose
- 28:28of Jesus, wants to see you break free from this wicked thing that
- 28:33is holding me back from experiencing and walking in the
- 28:36life eternal, in the life that He has promised, in the goodness
- 28:41that he has for you. And so by the blood of Jesus,
- 28:45and the name of Jesus and the power of Jesus, I break
- 28:49agreement with this thing. No weapon, no weapon formed
- 29:03against us can prosper in the name of Jesus unless we're
- 29:09making agreement with it. There's no spiritual force that
- 29:14has the power to hold you back unless you take the power of
- 29:19agreement and make agreement with it.
- 29:24You're getting this this morning.
- 29:27They're arrows, darts of poison designed to kill, to steal from
- 29:33you and destroy your life. And you don't have to put up
- 29:36with it. You don't have to walk in that.
- 29:39You don't have to be bound. It's so much nicer not being
- 29:43bound. An agreement is a spiritual
- 29:47contract. We break free in the name of
- 29:50Jesus. We can move into a space of
- 29:53confidence, assurance, identity, and understanding our position
- 30:00of who we are in Christ. It's actually a position of
- 30:05authority. It's a position of freedom.
- 30:09It's actually fun. When we break free, peace lives
- 30:14there very quickly. Before we close this morning, I
- 30:19want to touch on two more types of agreements that we make that
- 30:23we may not be aware of. Agreements that can feature, and
- 30:33that's an agreement with sin. And this is twofold.
- 30:39So sins that we choose and sins that happen against us.
- 30:46OK, now the sin that we choose, I'm not talking about mistakes
- 30:52that we make. Everyone makes mistakes.
- 30:55I'm not talking about being perfect here.
- 30:58If you're following Jesus, I've got a news flush for you.
- 31:01You're going to make so many mistakes, mistakes in Jesus like
- 31:05it's OK, we're on the the journey of transformation, but
- 31:09I'm talking about an agreement with sin.
- 31:13And this is what it looks like. Lord, I know that Your word says
- 31:18this about this sin, but God, I don't really believe it.
- 31:27I think this sin is OK. So I break agreement with what
- 31:35you say about this sin, and I'm making my own agreement here.
- 31:40Guys, I'm sorry, but the agreement here, that line,
- 31:44that's property of the enemy, which gives him access into your
- 31:49life. Any agreement that is
- 31:53unsurrended to Jesus, the enemy has access.
- 31:59He actually, he, it gives him access.
- 32:03It's a spiritual contract that opens a door for him to come in.
- 32:08And so agreement with sin, it's not OK.
- 32:12And and it's not like Jesus is there with a big saucepan ready
- 32:16to hit you over the head. That's not the picture here He's
- 32:19got he's got freedom for you. He has got a life of purpose.
- 32:25There's this itching to get his promises to you.
- 32:28He wants you to walk in fulfilment, abundance,
- 32:31understanding who you are. But the sin, if you make
- 32:36agreement with it, it's going to hold you back from all that he
- 32:40has for you to walk into right? It's not OK.
- 32:46God's Word, God's word says to forgive sin, that he forgives
- 32:53sin. He doesn't excuse it.
- 32:58The Bible says that Jesus forgives sin.
- 33:03He doesn't excuse it. OK, the second type of sin that
- 33:11we make an agreement with is the sins made against us.
- 33:20Some of you, this might sting a little bit this morning, but I'm
- 33:23praying for wholeness and for healing for you.
- 33:27When somebody really hurts us and they say sorry, what's even
- 33:33the language that can come out of our mouth?
- 33:36It's OK, that's an agreement. It's all good.
- 33:45I'm OK. When awful things are done to
- 33:49us, we can push it down. Down pain.
- 33:55You're OK. You're fine.
- 33:59Get down there. How much can we push under?
- 34:02It doesn't matter. It's an agreement that hinders
- 34:09our healing muses. I'm hoping that you're coming
- 34:12out. We sweep it under the rug.
- 34:18Excusing sin against you will not bring healing and it won't
- 34:24bring freedom. Agreeing to ignore it is not
- 34:30going to bring you into God's promises.
- 34:35Can I just say if this has happened to anyone here, that
- 34:38hurting you was not OK? Forgiveness acknowledges that
- 34:45the sin against you was not OK. It wasn't OK.
- 34:52It wasn't OK. The betrayal, abuse,
- 34:59humiliation, gossip against you, none of it was OK.
- 35:08You are a child of gods crafted by the Almighty, beloved,
- 35:16precious, and highly valuable. And it was not OK to be treated
- 35:22badly. And I know that acknowledging
- 35:27this might be painful for some of you, but the Bible actually
- 35:31says blessed are those who mourn, for they're going to be
- 35:34comforted. And so I actually pray that as
- 35:41as you look at this, that the comfort of God has opportunity
- 35:47to come in and bring comfort and lead to wholeness and lead to
- 35:52healing and lead to peace and lead to rest for your souls.
- 35:59And it's all available right here with Jesus.
- 36:04But this pain, this thing that has happened to you, you've
- 36:10actually got to acknowledge it, not excuse it, not make
- 36:17agreement. Oh, it, it was all right.
- 36:19It's OK. That is where worthlessness
- 36:22breeds in this agreement. It wasn't OK.
- 36:28Break the agreement with it and then hand it to the very loving
- 36:33arms of Jesus. I just wanted to say like this
- 36:41unforgiveness, He helps us to release the unforgiveness to
- 36:46Him. And that journey truly can
- 36:51sometimes take years. It can take years.
- 36:57It's a process of acknowledging the pain for what it was,
- 37:03reconciling the pain. I think it was your mum, Pastor
- 37:10Sharon, who actually talks about having.
- 37:12It's like you've got a computer that's open with all of these
- 37:15tabs and you just go and shut it down.
- 37:17But you've got all of these tabs that are still open and you've
- 37:21got to go in and, and reconcile them, close them down to get a
- 37:25healthy shutdown of the computer.
- 37:29Sometimes that reconciliation is, wow, that was garbage.
- 37:36Sometimes you're going to need a little bit of help with maybe
- 37:40someone like Pastor Sharon or or someone who can come and walk
- 37:43through with you to reconcile these things.
- 37:46But there's got to be a reconciliation, not an agreement
- 37:49that it didn't matter. God Forgives, He doesn't excuse.
- 37:58So we acknowledge the pain, reconcile it, and then hand it
- 38:03to Jesus. And that's a process that might
- 38:06take a long time with him. But there's freedom on the other
- 38:12side of that. There's wholeness on the other
- 38:16side of that Jesus name. There's no sin that he actually
- 38:26can't forgive. There's no act that he hasn't
- 38:31seen. He's seen it all.
- 38:35Eternal. God is so personal and he, he
- 38:39wants to be close to you. He wants to bring you into
- 38:43release. He wants to bring you into
- 38:46freedom from these things, your fierce protector, to be your
- 38:50deliverer, your freedom, your joy.
