  I'm

  not
• 1:35
  sure
• 1:36
  what
• 1:36
  my
• 1:36
  first
• 1:36
  fishing
• 1:37
  memory
• 1:37
  is,
• 1:38
  but,
• 1:38
  you
• 1:39
  know,
• 1:39
  early
• 1:39
  in
• 1:39
  my
• 1:40
  life,
• 1:40
  my
• 1:40
  dad
• 1:40
  taught
• 1:40
  me,
• 1:41
  you
• 1:41
  know,
• 1:41
  took
• 1:41
  me
• 1:42
  fishing
• 1:42
  and
• 1:42
  stuff.
• 1:42
  But
• 1:43
  one
• 1:43
  of
• 1:43
  the
• 1:44
  first
• 1:44
  ones
• 1:44
  that
• 1:44
  I
• 1:44
  can
• 1:44
  remember
• 1:45
  is
• 1:45
  we
• 1:45
  used
• 1:45
  to
• 1:45
  go
• 1:45
  and
• 1:46
  fish
• 1:47
  for
• 1:48
  crappie
• 1:48
  with
• 1:49
  little
• 1:49
  ball
• 1:49
  head
• 1:49
  jigs
• 1:51
  and
• 1:51
  just
• 1:52
  had
• 1:52
  a
• 1:52
  absolute
• 1:53
  blast
• 1:53
  doing
• 1:53
  it,
• 1:53
  you
• 1:54
  know?
• 1:54
  Yeah,
• 1:55
  it's
• 1:55
  funny
• 1:55
  you
• 1:55
  say
• 1:55
  that.
• 1:56
  I
• 1:56
  can
• 1:56
  remember
• 1:56
  seeing
• 1:56
  those.
• 1:57
  They
• 1:57
  used
• 1:57
  to
• 1:57
  have
• 1:58
  them
• 1:58
  by
• 1:58
  the
• 1:58
  checkout
• 1:59
  in
• 1:59
  the.
• 1:59
  In
• 1:59
  the
• 2:00
  hardware
• 2:00
  store,
• 2:00
  Right.
• 2:01
  And
• 2:01
  they'd
• 2:01
  be
• 2:01
  on
• 2:01
  a
• 2:01
  piece
• 2:02
  of
• 2:02
  cardboard
• 2:02
  and
• 2:02
  you
• 2:02
  just
• 2:03
  pull
• 2:03
  them
• 2:03
  off
• 2:03
  and
• 2:03
  it
• 2:03
  was
• 2:03
  literally
• 2:04
  like
• 2:04
  a
• 2:04
  chartreuse
• 2:05
  painted
• 2:05
  head
• 2:05
  with
• 2:05
  just
• 2:06
  a
• 2:06
  hook.
• 2:07
  Yeah,
• 2:07
  and
• 2:08
  that's
• 2:08
  what
• 2:08
  I
• 2:08
  used
• 2:09
  to.
• 2:09
  We
• 2:09
  used
• 2:09
  to
• 2:09
  go
• 2:09
  to
• 2:09
  Hechinger's
• 2:10
  and
• 2:10
  get
• 2:10
  them,
• 2:10
  and
• 2:10
  they
• 2:10
  were
• 2:11
  just
• 2:11
  little
• 2:11
  fluorescent
• 2:11
  yellow
• 2:12
  heads
• 2:13
  with
• 2:13
  some
• 2:13
  fluorescent
• 2:13
  yellow
• 2:14
  feathers
• 2:14
  tied
• 2:14
  to
• 2:14
  them.
• 2:15
  Super
• 2:15
  effective,
• 2:16
  though.
• 2:16
  Yeah,
• 2:17
  absolutely.
• 2:17
  I
• 2:17
  mean,
• 2:18
  once
• 2:18
  you
• 2:18
  find
• 2:18
  one,
• 2:18
  you've
• 2:19
  got
• 2:19
  a
• 2:19
  whole
• 2:19
  mess
• 2:20
  of
• 2:20
  crappie.
• 2:21
  Yeah,
• 2:22
  we,
• 2:22
  we,
• 2:23
  you
• 2:23
  know,
• 2:23
  we
• 2:23
  didn't
• 2:24
  shy
• 2:24
  away
• 2:25
  from
• 2:25
  keeping
• 2:25
  them,
• 2:26
  so.
• 2:27
  Yeah,
• 2:27
  absolutely.
• 2:28
  Well,
• 2:28
  listen,
• 2:28
  when
• 2:28
  did
• 2:28
  you
• 2:29
  come
• 2:29
  to
• 2:29
  the
• 2:29
  dark
• 2:29
  side
• 2:29
  of
• 2:29
  fly
• 2:30
  fishing?
• 2:31
  So
• 2:33
  I
• 2:33
  actually
• 2:33
  had
• 2:34
  to
• 2:34
  look
• 2:34
  this
• 2:34
  up.
• 2:36
  The
• 2:36
  show
• 2:36
  that
• 2:36
  got
• 2:37
  me
• 2:37
  was
• 2:37
  Fly
• 2:38
  Fishing
• 2:38
  the
• 2:38
  World
• 2:38
  with
• 2:38
  John
• 2:39
  Barrett.
• 2:39
  It
• 2:39
  started
• 2:40
  in
• 2:40
  1989,
• 2:42
  but
• 2:42
  the
• 2:42
  reason
• 2:43
  why
• 2:43
  is
• 2:43
  he
• 2:43
  took
• 2:44
  very
• 2:44
  famous
• 2:45
  people
• 2:45
  at
• 2:45
  the
• 2:45
  time.
• 2:46
  Chris
• 2:46
  Evert,
• 2:47
  who
• 2:47
  was
• 2:48
  the
• 2:48
  best
• 2:48
  tennis
• 2:48
  player
• 2:48
  in
• 2:49
  the
• 2:49
  world.
• 2:49
  Michael
• 2:49
  Keaton,
• 2:50
  who
• 2:50
  was
• 2:50
  Batman,
• 2:51
  Henry
• 2:52
  Winkler,
• 2:52
  who
• 2:52
  was
• 2:53
  the
• 2:53
  Fonz,
• 2:54
  Huey
• 2:54
  Lewis,
• 2:55
  Les
• 2:55
  Claypool.
• 2:56
  These
• 2:57
  are
• 2:57
  the
• 2:57
  people
• 2:57
  he
• 2:57
  had
• 2:58
  out
• 2:58
  and
• 2:59
  took
• 2:59
  them
• 2:59
  fly
• 2:59
  fishing.
• 3:00
  And
• 3:00
  it
• 3:00
  just
• 3:01
  looked
• 3:01
  amazing.
• 3:02
  Granted,
• 3:02
  he
• 3:03
  went
• 3:03
  to
• 3:03
  Patagonia
• 3:04
  and
• 3:04
  the
• 3:04
  Bahamas
• 3:04
  and
• 3:07
  that
• 3:07
  kind
• 3:07
  of
• 3:07
  stuff,
• 3:07
  but
• 3:07
  it
• 3:08
  was,
• 3:08
  it
• 3:08
  still
• 3:08
  looked
• 3:09
  really
• 3:09
  amazing.
• 3:10
  So
• 3:10
  that's,
• 3:11
  that's
• 3:11
  what
• 3:11
  got
• 3:12
  me.
• 3:12
  Yeah,
• 3:12
  so
• 3:13
  when
• 3:13
  did
• 3:13
  you
• 3:13
  actually.
• 3:13
  You
• 3:13
  were
• 3:14
  watching
• 3:14
  on
• 3:14
  tv.
• 3:14
  When
• 3:15
  did
• 3:15
  you
• 3:15
  actually
• 3:15
  get
• 3:15
  in
• 3:15
  the
• 3:15
  water
• 3:15
  with
• 3:16
  a
• 3:16
  pair
• 3:16
  of
• 3:16
  waders?
• 3:17
  Oh,
• 3:18
  waders.
• 3:18
  A
• 3:18
  lot
• 3:19
  later
• 3:19
  we
• 3:20
  fished
• 3:20
  out
• 3:20
  of
• 3:20
  a
• 3:20
  boat
• 3:20
  mostly.
• 3:21
  We
• 3:21
  had
• 3:21
  a
• 3:21
  little
• 3:21
  John
• 3:21
  boat
• 3:22
  as
• 3:22
  a
• 3:22
  kid
• 3:22
  and.
• 3:23
  But
• 3:23
  my
• 3:24
  parents
• 3:24
  got
• 3:24
  me
• 3:24
  for
• 3:25
  either,
• 3:25
  I
• 3:26
  think
• 3:26
  it
• 3:26
  was
• 3:26
  Christmas
• 3:27
  that,
• 3:27
  that
• 3:27
  winter
• 3:28
  or
• 3:28
  for
• 3:28
  my

• 3:28
  they

  had
• 3:32
  a
• 3:32
  9
• 3:33
  foot
• 3:33
  5
• 3:33
  weight,
• 3:34
  you
• 3:34
  know,
• 3:35
  fly
• 3:35
  line,
• 3:35
  rod,
• 3:36
  reel.
• 3:38
  Basically
• 3:38
  everything
• 3:39
  you
• 3:39
  needed.
• 3:40
  Yeah,
• 3:40
  very
• 3:41
  neat.
• 3:41
  And
• 3:41
  you
• 3:41
  know,
• 3:41
  obviously
• 3:42
  you've
• 3:42
  got
• 3:42
  a
• 3:42
  few
• 3:42
  miles
• 3:42
  on
• 3:43
  the
• 3:43
  tires
• 3:43
  since
• 3:43
  then.
• 3:44
  Who
• 3:44
  are
• 3:45
  some
• 3:45
  of
• 3:45
  the
• 3:45
  folks
• 3:45
  that
• 3:45
  have
• 3:46
  kind
• 3:46
  of
• 3:46
  mentored
• 3:46
  you
• 3:46
  in
• 3:47
  the
• 3:47
  sport
• 3:47
  and
• 3:47
  what
• 3:47
  have
• 3:47
  they
• 3:47
  taught
• 3:48
  you?
• 3:50
  Well,
• 3:50
  you
• 3:50
  know,
• 3:51
  back
• 3:51
  then,
• 3:52
  the
• 3:52
  first
• 3:52
  person
• 3:53
  to
• 3:53
  give
• 3:53
  me
• 3:53
  a
• 3:53
  fly
• 3:54
  fishing
• 3:54
  and
• 3:54
  fly
• 3:55
  casting
• 3:55
  lesson
• 3:55
  was
• 3:55
  a
• 3:56
  guy
• 3:56
  named
• 3:56
  Mark
• 3:56
  Kobach.
• 3:57
  He
• 3:57
  was
• 3:57
  a
• 3:57
  guide
• 3:57
  on
• 3:57
  the
• 3:58
  upper
• 3:58
  Potomac
• 3:58
  for
• 3:58
  40,
• 3:59
  more
• 3:59
  than
• 3:59
  40
• 4:00
  years.
• 4:00
  I
• 4:00
  think
• 4:00
  he
• 4:00
  made
• 4:00
  it
• 4:00
  44
• 4:01
  years
• 4:01
  before
• 4:01
  he
• 4:02
  retired.
• 4:04
  And
• 4:04
  then
• 4:07
  the
• 4:08
  other
• 4:08
  two,
• 4:09
  like
• 4:09
  these
• 4:10
  are
• 4:10
  big
• 4:10
  names,
• 4:10
  George
• 4:11
  Harvey
• 4:11
  and
• 4:11
  Lefty
• 4:12
  Kreh.
• 4:13
  But
• 4:13
  I
• 4:13
  didn't
• 4:13
  know
• 4:13
  who
• 4:14
  they
• 4:14
  were.
• 4:15
  And
• 4:15
  let
• 4:15
  me
• 4:15
  explain
• 4:16
  what
• 4:16
  that
• 4:16
  means.
• 4:17
  I
• 4:17
  lived
• 4:17
  in,
• 4:18
  you
• 4:18
  know,
• 4:19
  around
• 4:19
  D.C.
• 4:19
  whether
• 4:20
  it
• 4:20
  was
• 4:20
  northern
• 4:20
  Virginia,
• 4:21
  Southern
• 4:21
  Maryland.
• 4:22
  But
• 4:22
  I
• 4:22
  would
• 4:22
  go
• 4:22
  to
• 4:22
  trade
• 4:23
  shows
• 4:23
  in
• 4:23
  Virginia,
• 4:24
  Maryland
• 4:24
  and
• 4:24
  pa,
• 4:25
  and
• 4:25
  these
• 4:25
  two
• 4:26
  guys
• 4:26
  were
• 4:26
  always
• 4:26
  at
• 4:27
  them
• 4:27
  and
• 4:27
  I
• 4:27
  didn't
• 4:28
  know
• 4:28
  who
• 4:29
  they
• 4:29
  were.
• 4:29
  They
• 4:30
  were
• 4:30
  just
• 4:30
  always
• 4:30
  at
• 4:30
  them
• 4:31
  and
• 4:31
  they
• 4:31
  always
• 4:31
  were
• 4:31
  doing
• 4:31
  things.
• 4:32
  So
• 4:32
  I
• 4:32
  would
• 4:32
  always
• 4:32
  sit,
• 4:33
  sit
• 4:33
  in
• 4:33
  and
• 4:33
  listen
• 4:34
  and
• 4:34
  take
• 4:34
  notes,
• 4:35
  but
• 4:35
  I
• 4:35
  didn't
• 4:35
  know
• 4:35
  how,
• 4:37
  you
• 4:37
  know,
• 4:37
  how
• 4:37
  famous
• 4:38
  they
• 4:38
  were
• 4:38
  or
• 4:38
  how
• 4:39
  good
• 4:39
  they
• 4:39
  were,
• 4:40
  but
• 4:40
  those
• 4:41
  were
• 4:41
  two
• 4:41
  of
• 4:41
  them.
• 4:42
  And
• 4:43
  then
• 4:43
  there
• 4:43
  was
• 4:43
  a.
• 4:43
  Another
• 4:44
  person
• 4:45
  at
• 4:45
  that
• 4:45
  same
• 4:45
  time
• 4:46
  that
• 4:46
  I
• 4:46
  read
• 4:47
  a
• 4:47
  lot
• 4:47
  of
• 4:47
  his
• 4:48
  writing
• 4:48
  was
• 4:48
  Harry
• 4:48
  Murray.
• 4:50
  He
• 4:50
  wrote
• 4:51
  in
• 4:51
  the
• 4:52
  Mid
• 4:52
  Atlantic
• 4:52
  Fly
• 4:53
  Fisher's
• 4:53
  Guide,
• 4:53
  which
• 4:53
  was
• 4:54
  a
• 4:54
  free
• 4:54
  magazine
• 4:55
  that
• 4:55
  Fly
• 4:55
  shops
• 4:56
  would
• 4:56
  carry.
• 4:57
  And
• 4:57
  he
• 4:58
  would.
• 4:58
  He
• 4:58
  always
• 4:58
  wrote
• 4:58
  the
• 4:59
  report
• 4:59
  on
• 4:59
  the
• 4:59
  Shenandoah.
• 5:00
  And
• 5:00
  then
• 5:00
  he
• 5:00
  always.
• 5:01
  Almost
• 5:01
  every
• 5:02
  edition
• 5:02
  he
• 5:02
  would
• 5:02
  have
• 5:03
  an
• 5:03
  article
• 5:03
  in
• 5:03
  there
• 5:04
  about
• 5:04
  something,
• 5:05
  you
• 5:05
  know,
• 5:06
  whether
• 5:06
  it
• 5:06
  was
• 5:06
  brook
• 5:06
  trout
• 5:07
  fishing
• 5:07
  or
• 5:07
  smallmouth
• 5:08
  or
• 5:08
  a
• 5:08
  fly
• 5:09
  or
• 5:09
  a
• 5:09
  fishing
• 5:10
  technique,
• 5:10
  something.
• 5:11
  So
• 5:12
  that
• 5:12
  was
• 5:13
  kind
• 5:13
  of
• 5:13
  the,
• 5:13
  the
• 5:13
  first
• 5:14
  four
• 5:14
  or
• 5:14
  five
• 5:15
  that
• 5:15
  got
• 5:16
  me
• 5:16
  into
• 5:17
  fishing
• 5:17
  and
• 5:18
  really,
• 5:20
  you
• 5:20
  know,
• 5:21
  started
• 5:21
  me
• 5:21
  on
• 5:21
  the
• 5:22
  journey.
• 5:23
  Yeah.
• 5:23
  Very
• 5:23
  neat.
• 5:24
  I
• 5:24
  mean,
• 5:24
  and
• 5:24
  so
• 5:25
  when
• 5:25
  did
• 5:25
  you
• 5:25
  kind
• 5:25
  of
• 5:25
  get
• 5:25
  the
• 5:26
  bug
• 5:26
  to
• 5:26
  start
• 5:26
  tying
• 5:26
  flies?
• 5:28
  Basically
• 5:28
  right
• 5:29
  away
• 5:29
  that,
• 5:29
  that
• 5:30
  after
• 5:30
  they
• 5:31
  saw
• 5:31
  me
• 5:31
  fly
• 5:31
  fishing
• 5:32
  and
• 5:32
  not
• 5:32
  putting
• 5:32
  it
• 5:32
  down.
• 5:32
  After
• 5:33
  that
• 5:33
  first
• 5:33
  year,
• 5:35
  I
• 5:35
  remember
• 5:35
  for
• 5:35
  Christmas
• 5:36
  they
• 5:36
  got
• 5:36
  me
• 5:37
  the
• 5:37
  Cabela
• 5:38
  starter
• 5:38
  kit
• 5:39
  for
• 5:39
  fly
• 5:39
  tying.
• 5:40
  It
• 5:40
  came
• 5:40
  with
• 5:40
  the
• 5:40
  Thompson
• 5:41
  vise.
• 5:41
  And
• 5:42
  I
• 5:42
  still
• 5:42
  have
• 5:42
  the
• 5:43
  little
• 5:43
  book
• 5:43
  slash
• 5:44
  pamphlet
• 5:44
  that
• 5:44
  Eric
• 5:45
  Leisure
• 5:45
  wrote
• 5:45
  for
• 5:45
  them.
• 5:48
  But
• 5:48
  that's,
• 5:49
  that's
• 5:49
  what
• 5:49
  got
• 5:49
  me.
• 5:50
  And
• 5:50
  weirdly,
• 5:50
  I
• 5:50
  still
• 5:51
  have
• 5:51
  some
• 5:51
  of
• 5:51
  the
• 5:51
  fur
• 5:51
  pieces
• 5:52
  from
• 5:52
  it
• 5:52
  that
• 5:52
  are
• 5:52
  quite,
• 5:53
  you
• 5:53
  know,
• 5:53
  they
• 5:53
  were
• 5:53
  bigger
• 5:54
  pieces,
• 5:54
  but
• 5:54
  they
• 5:54
  were
• 5:55
  a
• 5:55
  really
• 5:56
  nice
• 5:56
  color
• 5:56
  for
• 5:56
  bluing
• 5:56
  dolls.
• 5:57
  And
• 5:57
  I've
• 5:57
  used
• 5:57
  it
• 5:57
  for
• 5:58
  years
• 5:59
  for
• 5:59
  my
• 5:59
  personal
• 6:00
  buys.
• 6:00
  And
• 6:00
  I
• 6:01
  still
• 6:01
  have
• 6:01
  probably
• 6:02
  a
• 6:02
  third
• 6:02
  of
• 6:03
  that
• 6:03
  thing
• 6:03
  left,
• 6:04
  plus
• 6:04
  some
• 6:04
  other
• 6:05
  random
• 6:05
  furs
• 6:06
  and
• 6:06
  stuff
• 6:06
  from
• 6:06
  it.
• 6:07
  Yeah,
• 6:07
  maybe
• 6:08
  some
• 6:08
  tinsel
• 6:08
  or
• 6:08
  some
• 6:09
  royal.
• 6:09
  Royal
• 6:10
  Wulff,
• 6:11
  you
• 6:11
  know,
• 6:11
  floss.
• 6:12
  Right.
• 6:13
  Yeah,
• 6:13
  I'm.
• 6:14
  I'm
• 6:14
  sure
• 6:15
  I've
• 6:15
  used
• 6:15
  up
• 6:15
  most
• 6:16
  of
• 6:16
  that
• 6:16
  stuff,
• 6:16
  but
• 6:16
  yeah,
• 6:17
  it
• 6:17
  was
• 6:18
  mostly
• 6:18
  garbage
• 6:19
  stuff.
• 6:19
  That's
• 6:19
  the
• 6:19
  one
• 6:19
  thing
• 6:20
  I'll
• 6:20
  say
• 6:20
  is
• 6:20
  a
• 6:21
  problem
• 6:21
  with
• 6:21
  all
• 6:21
  the
• 6:21
  beginning
• 6:22
  kits
• 6:22
  is
• 6:23
  most
• 6:23
  of
• 6:23
  the
• 6:23
  time
• 6:23
  you're
• 6:23
  getting
• 6:24
  scrap
• 6:24
  materials
• 6:25
  that
• 6:25
  are
• 6:26
  just
• 6:26
  absolute
• 6:26
  junk.
• 6:27
  So
• 6:27
  I
• 6:27
  really
• 6:27
  don't
• 6:28
  recommend
• 6:28
  them
• 6:28
  for
• 6:28
  anyone.
• 6:29
  Yeah.
• 6:30
  And
• 6:30
  so,
• 6:30
  you
• 6:30
  know,
• 6:30
  it's
• 6:31
  kind
• 6:31
  of
• 6:31
  interesting,
• 6:31
  right,
• 6:31
  because
• 6:31
  you
• 6:32
  learned
• 6:32
  to
• 6:32
  fly
• 6:33
  fish
• 6:33
  and
• 6:33
  to
• 6:33
  tie
• 6:34
  flies
• 6:34
  kind
• 6:34
  of,
• 6:35
  you
• 6:35
  know,
• 6:35
  before
• 6:35
  the
• 6:36
  Internet,
• 6:36
  Right.
• 6:36
  Back
• 6:36
  in
• 6:37
  the
• 6:37
  old
• 6:37
  days.
• 6:38
  And
• 6:38
  so,
• 6:38
  you
• 6:38
  know,
• 6:38
  you
• 6:39
  kind
• 6:39
  of
• 6:39
  touched
• 6:39
  on
• 6:39
  this
• 6:40
  already,
• 6:40
  but,
• 6:40
  you
• 6:40
  know,
• 6:40
  you
• 6:41
  benefited
• 6:41
  from.
• 6:42
  From
• 6:43
  being
• 6:43
  in
• 6:43
  really
• 6:43
  close
• 6:44
  physical
• 6:44
  proximity.
• 6:45
  Really,
• 6:45
  not
• 6:45
  just
• 6:46
  from
• 6:46
  shops,
• 6:47
  but
• 6:47
  just
• 6:48
  people
• 6:48
  that
• 6:48
  were
• 6:48
  within
• 6:49
  a
• 6:49
  reasonable
• 6:49
  drive
• 6:49
  of
• 6:50
  kind
• 6:50
  of
• 6:50
  where
• 6:50
  you
• 6:50
  were.
• 6:51
  And
• 6:51
  I
• 6:51
  was
• 6:52
  wondering
• 6:52
  if
• 6:52
  you
• 6:52
  could
• 6:52
  maybe
• 6:53
  talk
• 6:54
  a
• 6:54
  little
• 6:54
  bit
• 6:54
  about
• 6:54
  this
• 6:55
  because
• 6:55
  I
• 6:55
  think
• 6:55
  the
• 6:55
  young
• 6:55
  kids
• 6:56
  don't
• 6:56
  understand
• 6:56
  what
• 6:56
  it
• 6:57
  was
• 6:57
  like
• 6:57
  to
• 6:57
  get
• 6:58
  permission
• 6:58
  to
• 6:58
  make
• 6:58
  long
• 6:58
  distance
• 6:59
  phone
• 6:59
  calls
• 6:59
  and
• 6:59
  stuff
• 7:00
  like
• 7:00
  that.
• 7:00
  But
• 7:02
  talk
• 7:02
  a
• 7:02
  little
• 7:03
  bit
• 7:03
  about
• 7:03
  having
• 7:05
  easy
• 7:05
  access
• 7:06
  to
• 7:06
  Lefty
• 7:07
  and
• 7:07
  Clauser
• 7:08
  and
• 7:08
  people
• 7:08
  like
• 7:08
  that
• 7:09
  as
• 7:09
  you
• 7:09
  kind
• 7:09
  of
• 7:09
  grew
• 7:10
  in
• 7:10
  the
• 7:10
  sport.
• 7:12
  Yeah.
• 7:12
  So
• 7:13
  it's
• 7:13
  funny
• 7:14
  you
• 7:14
  mentioned
• 7:14
  the
• 7:15
  long
• 7:15
  distance
• 7:15
  phone
• 7:15
  calls.
• 7:16
  I
• 7:16
  forgot
• 7:16
  we
• 7:16
  had
• 7:16
  talked
• 7:17
  about
• 7:17
  that.
• 7:17
  So
• 7:18
  I
• 7:19
  grew
• 7:19
  up
• 7:19
  when
• 7:19
  long
• 7:19
  distance
• 7:20
  calls
• 7:20
  were
• 7:20
  a
• 7:20
  thing
• 7:21
  and
• 7:21
  they
• 7:21
  were
• 7:22
  expensive,
• 7:22
  but
• 7:23
  like
• 7:23
  once
• 7:23
  a
• 7:23
  month
• 7:23
  or
• 7:24
  so
• 7:24
  my
• 7:24
  mom
• 7:24
  would
• 7:24
  say,
• 7:24
  hey,
• 7:25
  you
• 7:25
  can
• 7:25
  have
• 7:25
  $10
• 7:25
  to
• 7:26
  make
• 7:26
  a
• 7:26
  long
• 7:26
  distance
• 7:27
  call.
• 7:27
  And
• 7:27
  I
• 7:27
  called
• 7:27
  Bob
• 7:28
  Clouser
• 7:28
  every
• 7:28
  single
• 7:29
  time
• 7:29
  I
• 7:29
  was
• 7:29
  allowed
• 7:29
  to.
• 7:30
  And
• 7:31
  I
• 7:31
  would
• 7:31
  talk
• 7:31
  to
• 7:31
  him
• 7:32
  for
• 7:32
  the
• 7:33
  better
• 7:33
  part
• 7:33
  of
• 7:33
  45
• 7:34
  minutes
• 7:34
  to
• 7:34
  an
• 7:34
  hour.
• 7:35
  And
• 7:36
  I'm
• 7:36
  sure
• 7:36
  I
• 7:36
  asked
• 7:36
  the
• 7:37
  same
• 7:37
  question
• 7:37
  every
• 7:37
  single
• 7:38
  time.
• 7:38
  Um.
• 7:39
  Cause
• 7:39
  I
• 7:39
  was.
• 7:39
  I
• 7:40
  was
• 7:40
  infatuated
• 7:40
  with
• 7:41
  top
• 7:41
  water
• 7:41
  fishing
• 7:41
  for
• 7:42
  them.
• 7:42
  And
• 7:43
  then
• 7:43
  crayfish
• 7:43
  and
• 7:44
  Clouser
• 7:44
  minnows.
• 7:45
  Those
• 7:45
  were
• 7:45
  my
• 7:45
  three
• 7:45
  things
• 7:46
  that
• 7:46
  I
• 7:46
  wanted.
• 7:47
  Cause
• 7:47
  I
• 7:47
  knew
• 7:47
  I
• 7:47
  was
• 7:47
  already
• 7:48
  doing
• 7:48
  woolly
• 7:48
  buggers
• 7:49
  and
• 7:49
  they
• 7:49
  worked.
• 7:50
  Um,
• 7:51
  in
• 7:51
  fact,
• 7:51
  I
• 7:51
  was
• 7:51
  already
• 7:51
  selling
• 7:52
  flies
• 7:52
  to
• 7:52
  Mark
• 7:53
  Kovac.
• 7:55
  I
• 7:55
  think
• 7:55
  I
• 7:55
  started
• 7:55
  doing
• 7:55
  that
• 7:56
  when
• 7:56
  I
• 7:56
  was
• 7:56
  like
• 7:56
  14.
• 7:57
  Um,
• 7:58
  I
• 7:58
  think
• 7:58
  that
• 7:58
  first
• 7:59
  year
• 7:59
  he
• 7:59
  bought
• 7:59
  about
• 7:59
  60
• 8:00
  dozen
• 8:00
  from
• 8:00
  me.
• 8:00
  And
• 8:01
  most
• 8:01
  of
• 8:01
  them
• 8:01
  were
• 8:02
  buggers.
• 8:03
  Well,
• 8:04
  but
• 8:04
  yeah,
• 8:04
  I
• 8:05
  would
• 8:05
  call
• 8:05
  Bob
• 8:05
  and
• 8:05
  ask
• 8:06
  him
• 8:06
  questions
• 8:06
  about,
• 8:06
  you
• 8:07
  know,
• 8:07
  leader
• 8:07
  design.
• 8:08
  And,
• 8:08
  you
• 8:09
  know,
• 8:09
  he
• 8:09
  was
• 8:10
  just,
• 8:10
  you
• 8:10
  know,
• 8:10
  he
• 8:11
  was
• 8:11
  just
• 8:11
  telling
• 8:11
  me,
• 8:11
  lefty's
• 8:12
  leader.
• 8:12
  But
• 8:13
  he
• 8:13
  was
• 8:14
  reinforcing
• 8:14
  it.
• 8:14
  And
• 8:16
  it
• 8:16
  really
• 8:16
  helped.
• 8:16
  Cause
• 8:17
  I
• 8:17
  was
• 8:17
  trying
• 8:17
  to
• 8:17
  use
• 8:17
  those.
• 8:18
  I
• 8:18
  don't
• 8:18
  know
• 8:18
  if
• 8:18
  you
• 8:18
  remember
• 8:19
  those
• 8:19
  braided
• 8:19
  leader
• 8:19
  butts
• 8:20
  that
• 8:20
  Orvis
• 8:20
  used
• 8:20
  to
• 8:20
  use
• 8:21
  and
• 8:21
  sell.
• 8:22
  I
• 8:22
  was
• 8:22
  trying
• 8:22
  those.
• 8:23
  And
• 8:23
  when
• 8:23
  you're
• 8:24
  doing,
• 8:24
  like
• 8:24
  trout
• 8:24
  flies,
• 8:24
  they
• 8:25
  work
• 8:25
  kind
• 8:25
  of
• 8:25
  well
• 8:26
  for
• 8:26
  me.
• 8:26
  You
• 8:27
  throw
• 8:27
  a
• 8:27
  weighted
• 8:27
  fly
• 8:28
  on,
• 8:29
  they
• 8:29
  don't
• 8:30
  have
• 8:30
  it.
• 8:31
  So
• 8:33
  it
• 8:33
  was
• 8:33
  a
• 8:33
  good
• 8:34
  thing
• 8:34
  that
• 8:34
  he
• 8:34
  got
• 8:34
  me
• 8:34
  to
• 8:35
  start
• 8:36
  tying
• 8:36
  my
• 8:36
  own
• 8:36
  leaders
• 8:37
  back
• 8:37
  then.
• 8:38
  Yeah,
• 8:38
  but
• 8:38
  you
• 8:38
  also,
• 8:39
  at
• 8:39
  least
• 8:39
  for
• 8:39
  part
• 8:40
  of
• 8:40
  your
• 8:40
  childhood,
• 8:40
  lived,
• 8:41
  I
• 8:41
  think,
• 8:41
  pretty
• 8:42
  much
• 8:42
  in
• 8:42
  the
• 8:42
  same
• 8:42
  town
• 8:42
  as
• 8:43
  Lefty.
• 8:43
  Right,
• 8:44
  like
• 8:45
  20
• 8:45
  minutes
• 8:45
  away,
• 8:45
  something
• 8:46
  like
• 8:46
  that.
• 8:46
  Yeah.
• 8:46
  I
• 8:47
  mean,
• 8:47
  he
• 8:47
  grew
• 8:47
  up
• 8:47
  in
• 8:47
  Frederick.
• 8:48
  I
• 8:48
  was
• 8:48
  in.
• 8:48
  I
• 8:49
  went
• 8:49
  to
• 8:49
  school
• 8:49
  in
• 8:49
  Frederick
• 8:50
  county
• 8:51
  in
• 8:51
  Maryland.
• 8:52
  Then
• 8:52
  he
• 8:53
  moved
• 8:53
  to
• 8:53
  Cockeysville,
• 8:54
  which
• 8:54
  is
• 8:54
  over
• 8:54
  north
• 8:55
  of
• 8:55
  Baltimore.
• 8:55
  But
• 8:56
  that
• 8:56
  was
• 8:56
  only
• 8:56
  like
• 8:57
  35
• 8:57
  minutes
• 8:57
  away.
• 8:58
  I
• 8:58
  was
• 8:58
  halfway
• 8:59
  between,
• 8:59
  like,
• 8:59
  Baltimore
• 9:00
  and
• 9:00
  Frederick.
• 9:03
  But
• 9:03
  yeah,
• 9:03
  he,
• 9:03
  but
• 9:04
  he
• 9:04
  was.
• 9:05
  He
• 9:05
  was
• 9:05
  at
• 9:05
  every
• 9:05
  show
• 9:06
  I
• 9:06
  ever
• 9:06
  went
• 9:06
  to.
• 9:06
  You
• 9:07
  know,
• 9:07
  any
• 9:07
  club
• 9:07
  meeting.
• 9:08
  My
• 9:09
  father's
• 9:09
  boss
• 9:10
  started
• 9:11
  two
• 9:11
  different
• 9:11
  chapters
• 9:12
  of
• 9:12
  Trial
• 9:12
  Unlimited.
• 9:13
  One
• 9:13
  out
• 9:14
  on
• 9:14
  the
• 9:14
  Savage,
• 9:15
  which
• 9:15
  is
• 9:16
  way
• 9:16
  western
• 9:16
  Maryland,
• 9:16
  and
• 9:17
  one
• 9:17
  right
• 9:18
  near
• 9:18
  Potomac,
• 9:19
  Maryland.
• 9:19
  And,
• 9:20
  you
• 9:20
  know,
• 9:20
  Lefty
• 9:21
  would
• 9:21
  come
• 9:21
  down
• 9:21
  and
• 9:21
  do
• 9:21
  talks.
• 9:22
  And
• 9:22
  whenever
• 9:23
  that
• 9:23
  happened,
• 9:23
  you
• 9:23
  know,
• 9:25
  this
• 9:25
  is
• 9:25
  back
• 9:25
  when
• 9:25
  kids
• 9:26
  were
• 9:26
  allowed
• 9:26
  to
• 9:26
  cut
• 9:26
  school,
• 9:27
  right.
• 9:27
  But
• 9:27
  my
• 9:27
  dad
• 9:27
  would
• 9:28
  take
• 9:28
  me
• 9:28
  out
• 9:28
  of
• 9:28
  school.
• 9:29
  I'd
• 9:29
  go
• 9:29
  into
• 9:29
  work
• 9:29
  with
• 9:29
  him
• 9:30
  and
• 9:30
  we'd
• 9:31
  go
• 9:31
  home
• 9:31
  with,
• 9:31
  you
• 9:32
  know,
• 9:32
  or
• 9:32
  go
• 9:32
  with
• 9:33
  Bill
• 9:33
  over
• 9:33
  to
• 9:34
  where
• 9:34
  Lefty
• 9:34
  was
• 9:34
  doing
• 9:35
  a
• 9:35
  talk
• 9:36
  that
• 9:37
  evening.
• 9:37
  And
• 9:38
  I'd
• 9:38
  sit
• 9:38
  there
• 9:38
  and
• 9:38
  get
• 9:38
  to
• 9:38
  listen
• 9:39
  to
• 9:39
  Lefty.
• 9:40
  It
• 9:40
  was.
• 9:41
  That's
• 9:42
  what
• 9:42
  I'm
• 9:42
  saying.
• 9:42
  Like,
• 9:42
  I
• 9:43
  didn't
• 9:43
  know
• 9:43
  who
• 9:43
  he
• 9:44
  was,
• 9:44
  but
• 9:44
  he
• 9:44
  was
• 9:44
  just
• 9:45
  at.
• 9:45
  Everywhere
• 9:46
  I
• 9:47
  saw
• 9:47
  him
• 9:47
  10
• 9:47
  times
• 9:47
  a
• 9:48
  year.
• 9:48
  And
• 9:49
  I'd
• 9:49
  ask
• 9:49
  him
• 9:49
  questions,
• 9:50
  and,
• 9:51
  you
• 9:51
  know,
• 9:52
  he
• 9:52
  would
• 9:52
  give
• 9:53
  very
• 9:53
  thoughtful
• 9:54
  answers
• 9:54
  if
• 9:54
  I
• 9:54
  had
• 9:54
  had
• 9:55
  a
• 9:55
  good
• 9:55
  question.
• 9:56
  But
• 9:57
  he
• 9:57
  was
• 9:57
  always
• 9:57
  cracking
• 9:57
  jokes,
• 9:58
  too.
• 9:58
  That
• 9:58
  was
• 9:59
  the.
• 10:00
  The.
• 10:00
  The
• 10:01
  fun
• 10:01
  thing
• 10:01
  about
• 10:01
  him
• 10:02
  was,
• 10:02
  is
• 10:02
  he.
• 10:03
  He
• 10:03
  had
• 10:03
  a
• 10:03
  thousand
• 10:04
  jokes.
• 10:04
  Like,
• 10:05
  you
• 10:05
  rarely
• 10:05
  heard
• 10:06
  the
• 10:06
  same
• 10:06
  one
• 10:06
  very
• 10:07
  often.
• 10:08
  So.
• 10:09
  Yeah,
• 10:10
  it's
• 10:10
  interesting,
• 10:10
  too,
• 10:10
  because
• 10:11
  that's
• 10:11
  kind
• 10:11
  of
• 10:11
  like
• 10:11
  the
• 10:12
  golden
• 10:12
  age
• 10:12
  of
• 10:13
  the
• 10:13
  club,
• 10:13
  right?
• 10:14
  Yes.
• 10:15
  And
• 10:15
  it
• 10:15
  also
• 10:15
  reminds
• 10:16
  me
• 10:16
  of,
• 10:16
  like,
• 10:17
  being
• 10:17
  a
• 10:17
  kid
• 10:18
  and
• 10:18
  we
• 10:19
  had
• 10:19
  family
• 10:19
  friends
• 10:20
  that
• 10:20
  were
• 10:20
  ornithologists,
• 10:21
  and
• 10:21
  I
• 10:21
  can,
• 10:23
  Gosh,
• 10:23
  being
• 10:23
  in
• 10:23
  elementary
• 10:24
  school
• 10:24
  in
• 10:24
  the
• 10:24
  70s
• 10:24
  and
• 10:26
  sitting
• 10:26
  down,
• 10:26
  and
• 10:27
  the
• 10:27
  box
• 10:28
  would
• 10:28
  come
• 10:28
  back
• 10:28
  from
• 10:28
  the
• 10:29
  copy
• 10:29
  company,
• 10:29
  and
• 10:29
  you'd
• 10:30
  sit
• 10:30
  in
• 10:30
  the
• 10:30
  floor
• 10:30
  and
• 10:31
  put
• 10:31
  together
• 10:32
  the
• 10:32
  newsletters
• 10:33
  and
• 10:33
  handwrite
• 10:33
  the
• 10:34
  addresses
• 10:34
  on
• 10:34
  them,
• 10:34
  and
• 10:35
  then
• 10:35
  the
• 10:35
  box
• 10:35
  would
• 10:35
  go
• 10:35
  to
• 10:35
  the
• 10:36

  office.
• 10:36
  I
• 10:36
  mean,
• 10:36
  it
• 10:37
  was
• 10:37
  a
• 10:38
  very,
• 10:38
  very
• 10:38
  different
• 10:39
  pace
• 10:39
  that
• 10:40
  I
• 10:40
  think
• 10:41
  created
• 10:42
  some
• 10:42
  very
• 10:42
  different
• 10:43
  outcomes
• 10:43
  than
• 10:43
  what
• 10:44
  we
• 10:44
  have
• 10:44
  today.
• 10:45
  Oh,
• 10:46
  I
• 10:46
  would
• 10:46
  agree.
• 10:46
  I
• 10:47
  would
• 10:47
  very
• 10:47
  much
• 10:47
  agree.
• 10:49
  I
• 10:49
  would.
• 10:49
  I.
• 10:49
  I
• 10:49
  handled
• 10:50
  the
• 10:50
  newsletter
• 10:50
  for
• 10:50
  one
• 10:51
  of
• 10:51
  my
• 10:51
  TU
• 10:51
  chapters
• 10:52
  in
• 10:53
  the
• 10:53
  late
• 10:54
  90s
• 10:54
  up
• 10:54
  in
• 10:55
  Narragansett,
• 10:56
  Rhode
• 10:56
  Island.
• 10:56
  It
• 10:57
  was
• 10:57
  the
• 10:57
  same
• 10:57
  thing.
• 10:57
  Like,
• 10:57
  we'd
• 10:58
  get
• 10:58
  it
• 10:58
  back
• 10:58
  from
• 10:58
  the
• 10:58
  printer.
• 11:00
  It
• 11:00
  was
• 11:00
  an
• 11:00
  entire
• 11:01
  night
• 11:02
  writing
• 11:02
  the
• 11:02
  address
• 11:02
  labels.
• 11:03
  And
• 11:03
  then
• 11:04
  I
• 11:04
  remember
• 11:05
  when
• 11:05
  we
• 11:05
  were
• 11:05
  finally
• 11:05
  able
• 11:06
  to
• 11:06
  print
• 11:06
  them.
• 11:06
  Oh,
• 11:07
  was
• 11:07
  it
• 11:08
  that
• 11:08
  fun?
• 11:09
  But
• 11:10
  you
• 11:11
  had
• 11:11
  to
• 11:11
  type
• 11:11
  em
• 11:11
  in
• 11:11
  once,
• 11:12
  Right.
• 11:12
  And
• 11:12
  that
• 11:12
  took,
• 11:13
  you
• 11:13
  know,
• 11:13
  three
• 11:14
  weeks
• 11:14
  of
• 11:14
  typing.
• 11:15
  But
• 11:15
  then
• 11:15
  once
• 11:15
  it
• 11:15
  was
• 11:15
  in,
• 11:16
  every
• 11:17
  time
• 11:17
  you
• 11:17
  just
• 11:17
  hit
• 11:17
  print
• 11:18
  and,
• 11:18
  you
• 11:18
  know,
• 11:20
  and
• 11:20
  you
• 11:20
  just
• 11:20
  had
• 11:20
  to
• 11:21
  stick,
• 11:21
  you
• 11:21
  know,
• 11:21
  it
• 11:21
  was
• 11:21
  only
• 11:22
  an
• 11:22
  hour
• 11:22
  to
• 11:22
  stick
• 11:22
  the
• 11:23
  labels
• 11:23
  on.
• 11:23
  Yeah.
• 11:24
  Technology
• 11:24
  is
• 11:24
  our
• 11:25
  friend,
• 11:25
  right?
• 11:26
  It
• 11:26
  really
• 11:26
  is.
• 11:26
  Yeah,
• 11:27
  it
• 11:27
  really
• 11:27
  is.
• 11:28
  And,
• 11:28
  you
• 11:28
  know,
• 11:28
  so
• 11:28
  I
• 11:29
  think,
• 11:29
  you
• 11:29
  know,
• 11:29
  most
• 11:29
  people
• 11:30
  know
• 11:30
  you
• 11:30
  as
• 11:31
  being,
• 11:31
  you
• 11:31
  know,
• 11:31
  Dave
• 11:31
  Whitlock's
• 11:32
  legacy
• 11:32
  tire.
• 11:33
  But
• 11:33
  I
• 11:33
  think
• 11:33
  a
• 11:33
  lot
• 11:33
  of
• 11:33
  people
• 11:34
  didn't
• 11:34
  really,
• 11:34
  you
• 11:34
  know,
• 11:35
  know
• 11:35
  that
• 11:35
  you
• 11:35
  were
• 11:35
  literally
• 11:35
  calling
• 11:36
  Clouser
• 11:37
  on
• 11:37
  a
• 11:37
  monthly
• 11:37
  basis,
• 11:37
  and
• 11:37
  you
• 11:38
  were
• 11:38
  regularly
• 11:39
  spending
• 11:39
  time
• 11:39
  with
• 11:40
  Lefty.
• 11:41
  But,
• 11:41
  you
• 11:41
  know,
• 11:41
  also
• 11:42
  too.
• 11:42
  And
• 11:42
  I
• 11:42
  think
• 11:42
  I
• 11:42
  noticed.
• 11:43
  I
• 11:43
  think
• 11:43
  I
• 11:43
  mentioned
• 11:43
  this
• 11:44
  to
• 11:44
  you.
• 11:44
  Like,
• 11:44
  I
• 11:44
  noticed
• 11:45
  this
• 11:45
  when
• 11:45
  you
• 11:45
  were
• 11:46
  going
• 11:46
  down
• 11:46
  to
• 11:47
  Gulf
• 11:47
  Shores
• 11:47
  to
• 11:47
  tie
• 11:48
  that.
• 11:48
  You
• 11:48
  know,
• 11:49
  not
• 11:49
  only
• 11:49
  are
• 11:49
  you
• 11:50
  tying
• 11:50
  Dave's
• 11:50
  patterns,
• 11:51
  but
• 11:51
  you
• 11:51
  have
• 11:51
  a
• 11:51
  tremendous
• 11:52
  affinity
• 11:52
  for
• 11:52
  all
• 11:53
  of
• 11:53
  these
• 11:53
  classic
• 11:53
  patterns
• 11:54
  from,
• 11:54
  like,
• 11:54
  Lefty
• 11:55
  and
• 11:55
  Bobby
• 11:55
  and
• 11:56
  Bob.
• 11:56
  And,
• 11:57
  you
• 11:57
  know,
• 11:57
  I
• 11:57
  was
• 11:57
  kind
• 11:58
  of
• 11:58
  curious,
• 11:58
  you
• 11:58
  know,
• 11:59
  where
• 11:59
  did
• 11:59
  that
• 11:59
  affection
• 12:00
  come
• 12:00
  from?
• 12:00
  And
• 12:01
  how
• 12:01
  did
• 12:01
  you
• 12:01
  resist
• 12:02
  the
• 12:03
  temptation
• 12:03
  as
• 12:03
  a
• 12:03
  tire
• 12:04
  to
• 12:04
  kind
• 12:04
  of
• 12:05
  drift
• 12:05
  to
• 12:05
  the
• 12:05
  modern
• 12:06
  patterns,
• 12:06
  materials
• 12:06
  and
• 12:07
  techniques?
• 12:10
  That's
• 12:11
  a
• 12:11
  complex
• 12:11
  question.
• 12:12
  Um,
• 12:13
  the
• 12:13
  short
• 12:13
  answer
• 12:13
  is
• 12:14
  because
• 12:14
  they
• 12:14
  really
• 12:14
  work.
• 12:14
  Well,
• 12:15
  that's
• 12:15
  the.
• 12:16
  The
• 12:16
  real
• 12:16
  truth.
• 12:17
  Um,
• 12:18
  you
• 12:18
  know,
• 12:18
  whether
• 12:19
  it's
• 12:19
  Larry
• 12:20
  Dahlberg's
• 12:20
  flash
• 12:20
  dancer
• 12:21
  I
• 12:21
  still
• 12:21
  fish
• 12:21
  that
• 12:22
  fly
• 12:22
  often.
• 12:23
  You
• 12:23
  know,
• 12:23
  Lefty
• 12:24
  taught
• 12:24
  Lefty
• 12:24
  and
• 12:24
  Bob
• 12:25
  taught
• 12:25
  me
• 12:25
  the.
• 12:25
  The
• 12:26
  red
• 12:26
  and
• 12:26
  white
• 12:26
  hackle
• 12:26
  fly.
• 12:27
  I
• 12:27
  still,
• 12:27
  I
• 12:28
  use
• 12:28
  the
• 12:28
  semper
• 12:28
  fly
• 12:29
  a
• 12:29
  lot.
• 12:29
  Half
• 12:30
  and
• 12:30
  half's
• 12:30
  Clouser
• 12:31
  bend
• 12:32
  back.
• 12:32
  Like,
• 12:32
  there's
• 12:33
  so
• 12:33
  many
• 12:33
  flies
• 12:33
  that
• 12:33
  these
• 12:34
  guys
• 12:34
  used
• 12:34
  to,
• 12:35
  you
• 12:35
  know,
• 12:36
  say
• 12:36
  where
• 12:36
  they're
• 12:37
  deadly.
• 12:37
  Dozen
• 12:38
  or,
• 12:38
  you
• 12:38
  know,
• 12:38
  know
• 12:38
  the
• 12:38
  10.
• 12:39
  You
• 12:39
  have
• 12:39
  to
• 12:39
  have,
• 12:39
  you
• 12:39
  know,
• 12:39
  pick
• 12:40
  the
• 12:40
  name
• 12:40
  of
• 12:40
  the
• 12:40
  article
• 12:40
  you
• 12:41
  want,
• 12:41
  but
• 12:41
  these
• 12:42
  were
• 12:42
  always
• 12:42
  in
• 12:42
  the
• 12:43
  list.
• 12:45
  And
• 12:45
  then
• 12:46
  you,
• 12:46
  you
• 12:46
  know,
• 12:47
  you
• 12:47
  fish
• 12:47
  them
• 12:47
  and
• 12:47
  you're
• 12:47
  like,
• 12:48
  yeah,
• 12:48
  these
• 12:48
  work.
• 12:49
  Yes.
• 12:50
  There
• 12:50
  are
• 12:50
  new
• 12:50
  flies
• 12:51
  that
• 12:51
  have
• 12:51
  come
• 12:51
  out
• 12:51
  that
• 12:51
  are
• 12:51
  supposed
• 12:52
  to
• 12:52
  be
• 12:52
  just
• 12:52
  as
• 12:52
  good
• 12:54
  and,
• 12:54
  you
• 12:55
  know,
• 12:55
  or
• 12:55
  maybe
• 12:55
  they're
• 12:55
  supposed
• 12:55
  to
• 12:55
  be
• 12:56
  better,
• 12:56
  but
• 12:56
  they're
• 12:56
  not.
• 12:56
  They're.
• 12:57
  They're
• 12:57
  just
• 12:57
  different.
• 12:59
  You
• 12:59
  know,
• 12:59
  I.
• 13:00
  I've
• 13:00
  used
• 13:00
  a
• 13:00
  Clouser
• 13:01
  half
• 13:01
  and
• 13:01
  half
• 13:01
  and
• 13:01
  a
• 13:01
  Clouser
• 13:03
  everywhere
• 13:04
  for
• 13:04
  every
• 13:04
  fish
• 13:05
  I've
• 13:05
  ever
• 13:05
  tried
• 13:06
  to
• 13:06
  catch.
• 13:06
  And
• 13:06
  they
• 13:07
  work.
• 13:07
  Um,
• 13:08
  you
• 13:09
  know,
• 13:09
  whether
• 13:09
  it's
• 13:10
  the
• 13:10
  Amazon,
• 13:10
  whether
• 13:11
  it's,
• 13:11
  you
• 13:11
  know,
• 13:11
  in
• 13:12
  Portugal,
• 13:13
  you.
• 13:14
  You
• 13:14
  pick
• 13:14
  it.
• 13:14
  I've
• 13:14
  caught
• 13:15
  fish
• 13:15
  on
• 13:15
  it.
• 13:16
  You
• 13:16
  know,
• 13:17
  it's.
• 13:17
  It's.
• 13:17
  They're
• 13:18
  just
• 13:18
  impressive.
• 13:18
  Same
• 13:19
  with
• 13:19
  the
• 13:19
  red
• 13:19
  and
• 13:19
  white
• 13:19
  hackle
• 13:20
  fly.
• 13:20
  That's
• 13:21
  one
• 13:21
  of
• 13:21
  my
• 13:21
  favorite
• 13:21
  flies.
• 13:24
  You
• 13:25
  know,
• 13:25
  I'm
• 13:25
  just
• 13:25
  trying
• 13:25
  to
• 13:26
  think
• 13:26
  of
• 13:26
  other
• 13:26
  ones
• 13:26
  that
• 13:26
  are
• 13:27
  like
• 13:27
  that.
• 13:27
  The
• 13:28
  Flash
• 13:28
  Dancer
• 13:28
  is
• 13:28
  another
• 13:29
  good
• 13:29
  one.
• 13:29
  You
• 13:29
  know,
• 13:30
  there's
• 13:30
  a
• 13:30
  lot
• 13:30
  of
• 13:30
  Chuck
• 13:30
  Kraft
• 13:31
  flies
• 13:31
  that
• 13:31
  are
• 13:31
  that
• 13:32
  way.
• 13:32
  You
• 13:32
  know,
• 13:32
  his
• 13:33
  CK
• 13:33
  bait
• 13:34
  fish.
• 13:35
  That
• 13:35
  thing
• 13:35
  is
• 13:36
  incredible,
• 13:37
  you
• 13:38
  know,
• 13:38
  and
• 13:38
  what
• 13:38
  it.
• 13:38
  What
• 13:39
  it
• 13:39
  lacks
• 13:39
  in
• 13:40
  motion
• 13:40
  and
• 13:41
  action
• 13:41
  compared
• 13:41
  to
• 13:42
  something
• 13:42
  else,
• 13:43
  it
• 13:43
  makes
• 13:43
  up
• 13:43
  for
• 13:44
  in
• 13:44
  durability.
• 13:44
  I
• 13:44
  mean,
• 13:45
  I
• 13:45
  know
• 13:45
  I've
• 13:45
  got
• 13:46
  a
• 13:46
  couple
• 13:46
  of
• 13:46
  those
• 13:46
  that
• 13:46
  have
• 13:46
  like
• 13:47
  300
• 13:47
  smallmouth
• 13:48
  on
• 13:48
  them.
• 13:48
  Like,
• 13:49
  can
• 13:49
  you
• 13:49
  imagine
• 13:49
  a
• 13:50
  single
• 13:50
  fly
• 13:50
  that
• 13:50
  gets
• 13:50
  300
• 13:51
  fish?
• 13:51
  There
• 13:52
  aren't
• 13:52
  very
• 13:52
  many
• 13:52
  that
• 13:53
  can
• 13:53
  do
• 13:53
  it,
• 13:54
  but
• 13:54
  that
• 13:54
  one
• 13:54
  does
• 13:54
  it
• 13:54
  regularly.
• 13:57
  Yes.
• 13:58
  So,
• 13:58
  yeah.
• 13:58
  And
• 13:59
  then
• 13:59
  Chico's
• 14:00
  Bonefish
• 14:00
  special,
• 14:01
  I
• 14:01
  think
• 14:01
  it's
• 14:02
  40
• 14:02
  years
• 14:02
  old,
• 14:02
  and
• 14:02
  it's
• 14:03
  one
• 14:03
  of
• 14:03
  my
• 14:03
  favorite
• 14:03
  bonefish
• 14:04
  flies.
• 14:06
  So,
• 14:07
  yeah,
• 14:07
  there's
• 14:07
  a
• 14:07
  lot
• 14:07
  of
• 14:08
  really
• 14:08
  old
• 14:08
  ones
• 14:08
  that
• 14:08
  are,
• 14:09
  you
• 14:10
  know,
• 14:10
  like
• 14:10
  you
• 14:10
  said,
• 14:11
  you
• 14:11
  know,
• 14:11
  we
• 14:12
  want
• 14:12
  to
• 14:12
  use
• 14:12
  EP
• 14:12
  fibers
• 14:13
  and
• 14:13
  an
• 14:13
  EP
• 14:13
  brush
• 14:14
  because
• 14:14
  we
• 14:14
  think
• 14:14
  it's
• 14:14
  faster.
• 14:14
  But
• 14:16
  you
• 14:17
  can
• 14:17
  tie
• 14:17
  a
• 14:17
  Chico's
• 14:18
  Bonefish
• 14:18
  special
• 14:18
  in
• 14:19
  like
• 14:19
  four
• 14:20
  minutes.
• 14:21
  You
• 14:21
  know,
• 14:22
  there's
• 14:22
  only
• 14:22
  four
• 14:23
  parts,
• 14:23
  four
• 14:24
  materials
• 14:24
  in
• 14:24
  it.
• 14:25
  I
• 14:25
  think
• 14:26
  Flash,
• 14:26
  the.
• 14:27
  The
• 14:27
  motto
• 14:28
  or
• 14:28
  the
• 14:28
  tubing
• 14:28
  to
• 14:28
  protect
• 14:29
  it.
• 14:30
  Hackle,
• 14:31
  marabou
• 14:32
  and
• 14:32
  chicken
• 14:33
  feathers.
• 14:33
  Anything
• 14:34
  else?
• 14:34
  It's
• 14:34
  pretty
• 14:35
  quick.
• 14:36
  Yeah,
• 14:36
  it's
• 14:36
  interesting.
• 14:37
  I
• 14:37
  mean,
• 14:37
  you
• 14:37
  know,
• 14:38
  and
• 14:38
  it's
• 14:38
  kind
• 14:38
  of
• 14:38
  funny
• 14:39
  because
• 14:39
  they
• 14:39
  are
• 14:39
  still
• 14:39
  effective,
• 14:41
  you
• 14:41
  know,
• 14:41
  so,
• 14:41
  you
• 14:41
  know,
• 14:42
  why
• 14:42
  do
• 14:42
  you
• 14:42
  think
• 14:42
  that,
• 14:42
  like,
• 14:43
  newer,
• 14:43
  younger,
• 14:44
  you
• 14:44
  know,
• 14:44
  anglers
• 14:45
  aren't
• 14:46
  finding
• 14:46
  these
• 14:46
  patterns?
• 14:48
  Oh,
• 14:48
  that's,
• 14:49
  that's
• 14:49
  really
• 14:49
  simple.
• 14:50
  Out
• 14:50
  of
• 14:50
  sight,
• 14:50
  out
• 14:51
  of
• 14:51
  mind.
• 14:51
  They're,
• 14:51
  they're
• 14:52
  not
• 14:52
  being,
• 14:52
  you
• 14:53
  don't
• 14:53
  see
• 14:53
  them
• 14:53
  in
• 14:53
  magazine
• 14:54
  articles.
• 14:54
  You
• 14:54
  don't
• 14:54
  see
• 14:55
  them
• 14:55
  on,
• 14:55
  you
• 14:55
  know,
• 14:55
  talked
• 14:56
  about
• 14:56
  in
• 14:56
  podcasts.
• 14:56
  You
• 14:57
  don't
• 14:57
  see
• 14:57
  them
• 14:57
  in,
• 14:58
  you
• 14:58
  know,
• 14:58
  many
• 14:59
  YouTube
• 14:59
  videos.
• 15:01
  So
• 15:01
  that's
• 15:02
  why,
• 15:02
  you
• 15:02
  know,
• 15:02
  like
• 15:04
  Fly
• 15:04
  Fishermen
• 15:05
  and
• 15:05
  Fly
• 15:05
  Tyer
• 15:05
  and
• 15:06
  Dark
• 15:06
  Skies
• 15:06
  and
• 15:06
  all
• 15:06
  these
• 15:07
  magazines,
• 15:07
  they
• 15:08
  have
• 15:08
  to
• 15:08
  produce
• 15:09
  the
• 15:09
  new
• 15:09
  fly,
• 15:10
  whatever
• 15:10
  the
• 15:10
  new
• 15:10
  thing
• 15:11
  is,
• 15:12
  right?
• 15:13
  That's
• 15:13
  just
• 15:14
  what
• 15:14
  they
• 15:14
  have
• 15:14
  to
• 15:14
  do.
• 15:14
  They
• 15:15
  can't
• 15:15
  sit
• 15:15
  there
• 15:15
  and,
• 15:15
  you
• 15:16
  know,
• 15:16
  they,
• 15:16
  you
• 15:16
  can't
• 15:17
  build
• 15:17
  a
• 15:17
  magazine
• 15:17
  around
• 15:19
  flies
• 15:19
  that
• 15:19
  are
• 15:19
  60
• 15:19
  years
• 15:20
  older.
• 15:20
  You
• 15:20
  know,
• 15:20
  that
• 15:20
  Bren
• 15:21
  white
• 15:21
  hackle
• 15:21
  flies
• 15:22
  from
• 15:22
  the
• 15:22
  late
• 15:22
  1800s.
• 15:24
  How
• 15:24
  do
• 15:24
  you
• 15:25
  sit
• 15:25
  there
• 15:25
  and
• 15:25
  build
• 15:25
  a,
• 15:25
  you
• 15:25
  know,
• 15:26
  a
• 15:26
  magazine
• 15:26
  around
• 15:26
  that,
• 15:27
  a
• 15:27
  fly
• 15:27
  that's
• 15:28
  that
• 15:28
  old?
• 15:28
  You're
• 15:28
  like,
• 15:28
  it's
• 15:29
  got
• 15:29
  it.
• 15:29
  We
• 15:29
  have
• 15:29
  to
• 15:29
  have
• 15:30
  done
• 15:30
  better
• 15:30
  than
• 15:30
  that,
• 15:30
  right?
• 15:31
  No,
• 15:31
  we
• 15:31
  really
• 15:31
  haven't.
• 15:32
  It's
• 15:33
  still
• 15:33
  a
• 15:33
  really
• 15:33
  effective
• 15:34
  fly.
• 15:36
  You
• 15:36
  know,
• 15:36
  you
• 15:37
  don't
• 15:37
  see
• 15:37
  the
• 15:37
  clouds
• 15:37
  are
• 15:37
  mentioned
• 15:38
  often
• 15:38
  in
• 15:38
  a
• 15:38
  magazine
• 15:39
  anymore.
• 15:41
  Why
• 15:41
  is
• 15:41
  that?
• 15:41
  It's
• 15:42
  still
• 15:42
  a
• 15:42
  great
• 15:43
  fly.
• 15:46
  So
• 15:46
  I,
• 15:46
  I,
• 15:47
  it's,
• 15:47
  it's
• 15:48
  frustrating
• 15:48
  because
• 15:49
  there's
• 15:49
  a
• 15:49
  lot
• 15:49
  of
• 15:49
  these
• 15:49
  flies
• 15:50
  that
• 15:50
  I
• 15:50
  think
• 15:50
  are,
• 15:51
  you
• 15:51
  know,
• 15:52
  you
• 15:53
  really
• 15:53
  can
• 15:55
  slim
• 15:56
  down
• 15:56
  your,
• 15:56
  your
• 15:57
  fly
• 15:58
  choice,
• 15:58
  which,
• 15:59
  which
• 15:59
  forces
• 16:00
  you
• 16:00
  to
• 16:00
  go.
• 16:00
  It's
• 16:01
  presentation
• 16:01
  that
• 16:02
  matters
• 16:02
  mo
• 16:02
  much
• 16:03
  more
• 16:03
  so
• 16:03
  than
• 16:03
  the
• 16:03
  actual
• 16:04
  pattern.
• 16:05
  Um,
• 16:05
  that's
• 16:06
  something
• 16:06
  I
• 16:06
  learned
• 16:06
  from
• 16:07
  Brad
• 16:07
  Yoder.
• 16:08
  He
• 16:08
  was
• 16:08
  another
• 16:08
  one
• 16:08
  of
• 16:08
  my
• 16:09
  mentors
• 16:10
  in
• 16:10
  the
• 16:10
  late
• 16:10
  90s.
• 16:10
  He
• 16:11
  was
• 16:11
  a
• 16:11
  guide
• 16:11
  up
• 16:11
  in
• 16:11
  Vermont.
• 16:12
  He
• 16:12
  had
• 16:12
  trout
• 16:12
  on
• 16:13
  the
• 16:13
  fly.
• 16:13
  Yeah,
• 16:14
  it
• 16:14
  was
• 16:14
  Vermont's
• 16:14
  trout
• 16:15
  on
• 16:15
  the
• 16:15
  fly.
• 16:16
  And
• 16:17
  at
• 16:18
  a
• 16:18
  certain
• 16:18
  point
• 16:18
  he
• 16:18
  was
• 16:19
  like,
• 16:19
  he
• 16:19
  got
• 16:20
  me
• 16:20
  to
• 16:20
  really
• 16:21
  like
• 16:21
  the
• 16:21
  gold
• 16:21
  rib
• 16:22
  hare's
• 16:22
  ear
• 16:22
  as
• 16:22
  my
• 16:22
  nymph.
• 16:23
  And
• 16:23
  that's
• 16:23
  still
• 16:23
  probably
• 16:24
  one
• 16:24
  of
• 16:24
  my
• 16:24
  favorite
• 16:24
  nymphs.
• 16:26
  But
• 16:26
  he
• 16:26
  goes,
• 16:26
  alan,
• 16:26
  I
• 16:27
  want
• 16:27
  you
• 16:27
  to
• 16:27
  become
• 16:28
  really
• 16:28
  good
• 16:28
  at
• 16:28
  this.
• 16:29
  You
• 16:29
  just
• 16:30
  have
• 16:30
  to
• 16:30
  fish
• 16:30
  it
• 16:30
  every
• 16:30
  day
• 16:31
  for
• 16:31
  a
• 16:31
  year.
• 16:31
  And
• 16:31
  I'm
• 16:31
  like,
• 16:31
  what
• 16:32
  do
• 16:32
  you
• 16:32
  mean?
• 16:32
  It's
• 16:32
  like,
• 16:32
  look,
• 16:32
  there's
• 16:32
  fish
• 16:33
  rising.
• 16:33
  Put
• 16:33
  the
• 16:33
  dry
• 16:33
  flying
• 16:34
  one.
• 16:34
  But
• 16:35
  he
• 16:35
  goes
• 16:35
  everywhere.
• 16:36
  Every
• 16:36
  other
• 16:36
  time,
• 16:37
  just
• 16:37
  fish
• 16:38
  that
• 16:38
  fly.
• 16:39
  Cause
• 16:39
  it's
• 16:39
  going
• 16:39
  to
• 16:39
  teach
• 16:40
  you
• 16:40
  how
• 16:40
  to
• 16:40
  fish
• 16:41
  it
• 16:41
  in
• 16:41
  the
• 16:41
  deep
• 16:41
  water,
• 16:41
  in
• 16:41
  the
• 16:42
  shallow
• 16:42
  water,
• 16:42
  in
• 16:42
  this,
• 16:43
  in
• 16:43
  every
• 16:43
  situ
• 16:44
  single
• 16:44
  different
• 16:45
  situation.
• 16:46
  And
• 16:46
  then
• 16:46
  you're
• 16:47
  going
• 16:47
  to
• 16:47
  realize
• 16:48
  it
• 16:48
  doesn't
• 16:48
  matter
• 16:48
  if
• 16:48
  you
• 16:48
  put
• 16:49
  the
• 16:49
  hairs
• 16:49
  you're
• 16:49
  on
• 16:49
  or
• 16:49
  a
• 16:50
  prince
• 16:50
  or
• 16:50
  a
• 16:50
  pheasant
• 16:50
  tail
• 16:51
  or
• 16:51
  a
• 16:51
  fox
• 16:52
  squirrel,
• 16:53
  once
• 16:53
  you
• 16:53
  know
• 16:53
  that
• 16:53
  it's
• 16:54
  not
• 16:54
  the
• 16:54
  fly,
• 16:54
  it's
• 16:54
  the
• 16:54
  presentation.
• 16:56
  Your
• 16:56
  Fly
• 16:56
  choice
• 16:57
  really
• 16:57
  doesn't
• 16:57
  matter.
• 16:58
  And
• 16:58
  you'll.
• 16:59
  You'll
• 16:59
  get
• 16:59
  to
• 16:59
  that
• 16:59
  point.
• 16:59
  But
• 17:00
  he
• 17:00
  goes,
• 17:00
  it'll
• 17:00
  take
• 17:00
  you
• 17:00
  a
• 17:00
  year.
• 17:01
  So
• 17:01
  the
• 17:02
  next
• 17:02
  year
• 17:02
  I
• 17:02
  went
• 17:02
  and
• 17:02
  I
• 17:02
  fished
• 17:03
  a
• 17:03
  hare's
• 17:03
  ear.
• 17:05
  Like,
• 17:05
  you
• 17:05
  know,
• 17:05
  that
• 17:06
  was
• 17:06
  one
• 17:06
  of
• 17:06
  the
• 17:06
  years
• 17:06
  I
• 17:06
  did
• 17:06
  a
• 17:07
  hundred
• 17:07
  days
• 17:07
  on
• 17:07
  the
• 17:07
  water,
• 17:07
  and
• 17:08
  like,
• 17:08
  70
• 17:08
  of
• 17:08
  those
• 17:08
  days,
• 17:09
  I
• 17:09
  had
• 17:09
  a
• 17:09
  hazard
• 17:09
  tight
• 17:10
  on.
• 17:11
  I
• 17:11
  don't
• 17:11
  think
• 17:11
  I
• 17:11
  caught
• 17:12
  any
• 17:12
  fewer
• 17:12
  fish.
• 17:12
  I
• 17:13
  don't
• 17:13
  think
• 17:13
  I
• 17:13
  caught
• 17:13
  any
• 17:14
  more
• 17:14
  fish.
• 17:15
  It
• 17:15
  was
• 17:15
  just.
• 17:16
  I
• 17:17
  learned
• 17:17
  how
• 17:17
  to
• 17:17
  fish
• 17:18
  it
• 17:18
  in
• 17:18
  every
• 17:18
  water
• 17:19
  condition
• 17:19
  I
• 17:19
  saw.
• 17:21
  So
• 17:21
  it
• 17:22
  was.
• 17:22
  It
• 17:23
  was
• 17:23
  a
• 17:23
  really
• 17:24
  enlightening
• 17:24
  experience.
• 17:25
  And
• 17:25
  I.
• 17:25
  I
• 17:25
  think
• 17:26
  a
• 17:26
  lot
• 17:26
  of
• 17:26
  people
• 17:26
  would
• 17:26
  really
• 17:28
  learn
• 17:28
  a
• 17:28
  lot
• 17:28
  from
• 17:29
  that
• 17:29
  process
• 17:29
  of
• 17:31
  just
• 17:31
  pick
• 17:32
  a
• 17:32
  pattern
• 17:32
  or
• 17:32
  two,
• 17:33
  focus
• 17:33
  on
• 17:33
  them
• 17:33
  for
• 17:34
  a
• 17:34
  year,
• 17:34
  and
• 17:34
  you'll
• 17:34
  see
• 17:35
  you'll
• 17:35
  still
• 17:35
  catch
• 17:35
  just
• 17:35
  as
• 17:36
  many
• 17:36
  fish,
• 17:37
  and
• 17:37
  you'll
• 17:37
  learn
• 17:37
  that
• 17:37
  it's
• 17:38
  not
• 17:39
  as
• 17:39
  much
• 17:39
  the
• 17:39
  fly
• 17:40
  as
• 17:40
  it
• 17:40
  is
• 17:40
  your
• 17:40
  presentation
• 17:41
  and
• 17:41
  how
• 17:41
  you're
• 17:41
  fishing
• 17:42
  it.
• 17:43
  Yeah,
• 17:43
  I
• 17:43
  would
• 17:43
  add
• 17:44
  to
• 17:44
  that,
• 17:44
  too,
• 17:44
  that
• 17:45
  if
• 17:45
  you
• 17:45
  really
• 17:45
  want
• 17:45
  to
• 17:45
  kind
• 17:45
  of
• 17:46
  put
• 17:46
  that
• 17:46
  game
• 17:46
  on
• 17:46
  steroids,
• 17:47
  fish
• 17:47
  the
• 17:47
  same
• 17:48
  piece
• 17:48
  of
• 17:48
  water
• 17:48
  for
• 17:48
  a
• 17:49
  year.
• 17:50
  Ooh,
• 17:51
  that
• 17:52
  would.
• 17:52
  Deep,
• 17:53
  painful,
• 17:53
  I
• 17:53
  think,
• 17:53
  but,
• 17:54
  I
• 17:54
  mean,
• 17:54
  if
• 17:54
  it
• 17:54
  was
• 17:54
  a
• 17:55
  big
• 17:55
  enough
• 17:56
  river
• 17:56
  or
• 17:56
  something,
• 17:57
  maybe.
• 17:57
  But
• 17:57
  I
• 17:57
  fish
• 17:57
  a
• 17:57
  lot.
• 17:58
  I
• 17:58
  used
• 17:58
  to
• 17:58
  fish
• 17:58
  a
• 17:58
  lot
• 17:58
  of
• 17:59
  really
• 17:59
  small
• 17:59
  creeks.
• 18:01
  That
• 18:02
  would
• 18:02
  be
• 18:02
  tough
• 18:02
  for
• 18:02
  me,
• 18:02
  but,
• 18:03
  yeah,
• 18:03
  I
• 18:03
  could
• 18:04
  see
• 18:04
  that.
• 18:06
  Oh,
• 18:06
  that's
• 18:07
  a
• 18:07
  really
• 18:07
  good
• 18:07
  idea.
• 18:07
  I'm
• 18:08
  gonna
• 18:08
  have
• 18:08
  to
• 18:08
  try
• 18:08
  that
• 18:08
  one
• 18:09
  time.
• 18:09
  I
• 18:09
  don't
• 18:10
  know
• 18:10
  if
• 18:10
  this.
• 18:11
  That's
• 18:11
  got
• 18:11
  me
• 18:11
  thinking.
• 18:12
  Yeah.
• 18:12
  I
• 18:12
  mean,
• 18:12
  for
• 18:13
  me,
• 18:13
  it
• 18:13
  was
• 18:13
  during
• 18:13
  COVID
• 18:14
  and
• 18:14
  I
• 18:14
  had
• 18:14
  a
• 18:14
  couple
• 18:14
  secret
• 18:15
  places
• 18:15
  that
• 18:15
  I
• 18:15
  knew
• 18:16
  to
• 18:16
  go
• 18:16
  to
• 18:16
  that
• 18:16
  didn't
• 18:17
  get
• 18:17
  a
• 18:17
  lot
• 18:17
  of
• 18:17
  traffic.
• 18:18
  And
• 18:18
  it
• 18:18
  was,
• 18:19
  you
• 18:19
  know,
• 18:19
  doing
• 18:20
  that
• 18:20
  allowed
• 18:20
  me
• 18:20
  to
• 18:21
  connect
• 18:21
  some
• 18:21
  dots
• 18:22
  on
• 18:22
  seasonality
• 18:23
  that
• 18:23
  I
• 18:23
  wouldn't
• 18:23
  have
• 18:23
  seen
• 18:23
  if
• 18:23
  I
• 18:24
  was
• 18:24
  fishing
• 18:24
  all
• 18:24
  over
• 18:24
  the
• 18:25
  place.
• 18:25
  Right.
• 18:25
  Because
• 18:25
  I
• 18:25
  wouldn't
• 18:25
  be
• 18:26
  able
• 18:26
  to,
• 18:26
  you
• 18:27
  know,
• 18:27
  correct
• 18:27
  for
• 18:27
  the
• 18:27
  watershed
• 18:28
  versus
• 18:28
  the
• 18:29
  season.
• 18:30
  Yeah,
• 18:32
  that's.
• 18:34
  Yeah,
• 18:35
  that's
• 18:35
  a
• 18:35
  really
• 18:35
  interesting.
• 18:37
  I'm
• 18:38
  going
• 18:38
  to
• 18:38
  be
• 18:38
  giving
• 18:38
  that
• 18:39
  a
• 18:39
  shot
• 18:39
  here
• 18:39
  shortly.
• 18:40
  Yeah.
• 18:40
  Well,
• 18:40
  there
• 18:40
  you
• 18:40
  go.
• 18:41
  I've
• 18:41
  just
• 18:41
  told
• 18:42
  you
• 18:42
  how
• 18:42
  to
• 18:42
  fish
• 18:42
  for
• 18:42
  the
• 18:42
  next
• 18:43
  year.
• 18:44
  I
• 18:44
  think
• 18:44
  that's
• 18:44
  going
• 18:44
  to
• 18:44
  be
• 18:44
  20,
• 18:45
  27
• 18:46
  fish
• 18:46
  the
• 18:46
  same
• 18:46
  water.
• 18:47
  Yeah.
• 18:47
  And
• 18:48
  so,
• 18:48
  you
• 18:48
  know,
• 18:48
  it's
• 18:48
  interesting.
• 18:48
  Right.
• 18:49
  So
• 18:49
  we
• 18:49
  know
• 18:49
  all
• 18:49
  of
• 18:49
  these
• 18:50
  patterns
• 18:50
  are
• 18:50
  effective
• 18:51
  at
• 18:51
  catching
• 18:51
  fish.
• 18:51
  And,
• 18:52
  you
• 18:52
  know,
• 18:52
  fish
• 18:53
  are
• 18:53
  educated,
• 18:53
  but
• 18:53
  they're
• 18:54
  not
• 18:54
  that
• 18:54
  educated.
• 18:55
  But,
• 18:55
  you
• 18:55
  know,
• 18:55
  like,
• 18:55
  why
• 18:55
  don't
• 18:56
  we
• 18:56
  bring
• 18:56
  it
• 18:56
  to
• 18:56
  the
• 18:56
  vice
• 18:57
  and
• 18:57
  talk
• 18:57
  about,
• 18:58
  you
• 18:58
  know,
• 18:58
  what
• 18:59
  these.
• 18:59
  These
• 18:59
  classic
• 19:00
  patterns
• 19:00
  can
• 19:01
  do
• 19:01
  for
• 19:01
  us
• 19:01
  to
• 19:01
  make
• 19:01
  us
• 19:02
  better
• 19:02
  tiers
• 19:03
  and
• 19:03
  kind
• 19:03
  of
• 19:04
  what
• 19:04
  the.
• 19:04
  What
• 19:04
  foundational
• 19:05
  tying
• 19:05
  elements
• 19:06
  are
• 19:06
  embedded
• 19:06
  in
• 19:07
  these
• 19:07
  patterns.
• 19:09
  Well,
• 19:09
  that's
• 19:09
  interesting.
• 19:10
  Yeah.
• 19:10
  So
• 19:11
  the
• 19:11
  first
• 19:12
  one
• 19:12
  that
• 19:12
  comes
• 19:12
  to
• 19:12
  mind
• 19:13
  is,
• 19:13
  you
• 19:13
  know,
• 19:14
  these
• 19:14
  guys
• 19:15
  really
• 19:15
  did
• 19:17
  figure
• 19:17
  out
• 19:17
  a
• 19:17
  few
• 19:18
  key
• 19:18
  elements.
• 19:20
  You
• 19:21
  know,
• 19:22
  Dave
• 19:22
  Whitlock,
• 19:23
  he
• 19:23
  added
• 19:23
  gills
• 19:24
  to
• 19:24
  every
• 19:24
  single
• 19:24
  fly
• 19:24
  that
• 19:25
  he,
• 19:25
  you
• 19:25
  know,
• 19:25
  every
• 19:25
  streamer
• 19:26
  fly
• 19:26
  that
• 19:26
  he
• 19:26
  ever
• 19:26
  tied
• 19:27
  or
• 19:27
  a
• 19:27
  popping
• 19:27
  bug,
• 19:28
  they
• 19:28
  had
• 19:28
  gills
• 19:28
  in
• 19:29
  there.
• 19:29
  He
• 19:29
  wanted
• 19:29
  that
• 19:29
  little
• 19:30
  red
• 19:30
  hotspot.
• 19:32
  You
• 19:32
  know,
• 19:32
  Lefty
• 19:33
  liked
• 19:33
  that
• 19:33
  a
• 19:33
  lot
• 19:34
  as
• 19:34
  well
• 19:34
  on
• 19:34
  his
• 19:35
  deceivers.
• 19:36
  Um,
• 19:38
  but
• 19:38
  the
• 19:38
  other
• 19:38
  thing,
• 19:39
  you
• 19:39
  know,
• 19:39
  the,
• 19:41
  the
• 19:41
  other
• 19:42
  thing
• 19:42
  that
• 19:42
  I,
• 19:42
  I
• 19:42
  liked
• 19:43
  about
• 19:43
  their
• 19:43
  flies
• 19:44
  was
• 19:44
  is
• 19:45
  you
• 19:45
  could
• 19:45
  tell
• 19:46
  they
• 19:46
  had
• 19:46
  spent
• 19:47
  time
• 19:49
  refining
• 19:49
  the
• 19:50
  fly.
• 19:51
  So.
• 19:52
  And
• 19:52
  I
• 19:52
  know
• 19:53
  Blane's
• 19:53
  talked
• 19:54
  about
• 19:54
  this
• 19:54
  on
• 19:55
  your
• 19:55
  podcast
• 19:55
  that
• 19:56
  I've
• 19:56
  heard
• 19:56
  that,
• 19:56
  you
• 19:56
  know,
• 19:57
  your
• 19:58
  friend,
• 19:58
  to
• 19:58
  get
• 19:58
  from
• 19:58
  the
• 19:59
  idea
• 19:59
  to
• 19:59
  where
• 20:00
  he
• 20:00
  is,
• 20:00
  like,
• 20:01
  happy
• 20:01
  with
• 20:01
  it,
• 20:01
  might
• 20:01
  take
• 20:02
  him
• 20:02
  as
• 20:02
  many
• 20:02
  as
• 20:03
  two,
• 20:03
  three,
• 20:03
  four
• 20:03
  years.
• 20:04
  And
• 20:04
  I
• 20:04
  know
• 20:05
  some
• 20:05
  of
• 20:05
  these
• 20:05
  flies
• 20:05
  would,
• 20:06
  you
• 20:06
  know,
• 20:06
  whether
• 20:06
  it
• 20:07
  was
• 20:07
  cloud,
• 20:07
  the
• 20:07
  Clouser
• 20:08
  minnow,
• 20:08
  or,
• 20:09
  you
• 20:09
  know,
• 20:09
  some
• 20:09
  of
• 20:09
  Dave's
• 20:10
  flies,
• 20:10
  these
• 20:10
  guys
• 20:11
  would
• 20:11
  literally
• 20:13
  continually
• 20:14
  try
• 20:15
  to
• 20:15
  mess
• 20:15
  with
• 20:15
  the
• 20:15
  fly
• 20:16
  and
• 20:16
  say,
• 20:16
  can
• 20:16
  I
• 20:16
  make
• 20:16
  it
• 20:16
  better?
• 20:17
  Can
• 20:17
  I
• 20:17
  make
• 20:17
  it
• 20:17
  better?
• 20:17
  Does
• 20:18
  is
• 20:18
  this
• 20:18
  better?
• 20:20
  And
• 20:22
  they,
• 20:22
  they
• 20:23
  kept
• 20:23
  whittling
• 20:23
  it
• 20:23
  down
• 20:24
  to
• 20:24
  what
• 20:24
  is
• 20:24
  the,
• 20:25
  the
• 20:25
  essence
• 20:25
  of
• 20:25
  this
• 20:25
  pattern?
• 20:26
  How
• 20:26
  simple
• 20:26
  can
• 20:26
  I
• 20:27
  make
• 20:27
  it,
• 20:27
  yet
• 20:27
  still
• 20:27
  how
• 20:27
  to
• 20:28
  be
• 20:28
  effective.
• 20:29
  And
• 20:29
  the
• 20:29
  deceiver
• 20:30
  is
• 20:30
  the
• 20:31
  ultimate
• 20:31
  in
• 20:31
  that,
• 20:33
  if
• 20:33
  you
• 20:33
  don't
• 20:33
  count
• 20:34
  flash.
• 20:35
  It's
• 20:35
  two
• 20:35
  materials,
• 20:37
  you
• 20:37
  know,
• 20:38
  and
• 20:39
  the
• 20:39
  flash
• 20:39
  can
• 20:39
  be.
• 20:40
  When
• 20:40
  you
• 20:41
  develop
• 20:41
  the
• 20:41
  flash,
• 20:41
  there
• 20:41
  was
• 20:42
  no
• 20:42
  flash,
• 20:42
  right.
• 20:43
  It
• 20:43
  was
• 20:43
  just
• 20:43
  chicken
• 20:44
  feathers
• 20:44
  and
• 20:44
  some
• 20:44
  bucktail.
• 20:45
  The
• 20:45
  flash
• 20:46
  was
• 20:46
  an
• 20:46
  addition
• 20:47
  once
• 20:47
  we
• 20:47
  started
• 20:47
  having
• 20:48
  Mylar.
• 20:49
  And
• 20:50
  it
• 20:50
  does
• 20:50
  make
• 20:50
  it
• 20:50
  better.
• 20:51
  So
• 20:51
  please
• 20:52
  add
• 20:52
  flash.
• 20:52
  But
• 20:53
  like,
• 20:53
  it
• 20:54
  doesn't
• 20:54
  get
• 20:54
  any
• 20:54
  more
• 20:55
  simple
• 20:55
  than
• 20:55
  that.
• 20:57
  So
• 20:58
  I,
• 20:58
  I'm,
• 20:59
  I'm
• 20:59
  a
• 20:59
  big
• 21:00
  fan
• 21:00
  of
• 21:00
  making
• 21:00
  sure
• 21:00
  people
• 21:01
  know
• 21:01
  to,
• 21:03
  you
• 21:03
  know,
• 21:03
  whether
• 21:03
  it's
• 21:04
  that
• 21:04
  simplified
• 21:04
  a
• 21:05
  half
• 21:05
  and
• 21:05
  half.
• 21:06
  You
• 21:06
  know,
• 21:06
  one
• 21:06
  of
• 21:06
  the
• 21:06
  things
• 21:07
  I
• 21:07
  liked
• 21:07
  about
• 21:07
  it
• 21:07
  is,
• 21:10
  and
• 21:10
  you
• 21:10
  know,
• 21:10
  Bob
• 21:11
  doesn't
• 21:11
  do
• 21:11
  it
• 21:12
  much
• 21:12
  anymore.
• 21:13
  I
• 21:13
  think
• 21:13
  it's
• 21:13
  because
• 21:13
  he's,
• 21:14
  he's
• 21:14
  realized
• 21:14
  that
• 21:15
  what
• 21:15
  causes
• 21:16
  the
• 21:16
  tail
• 21:16
  to
• 21:16
  foul
• 21:17
  when
• 21:17
  you,
• 21:18
  when
• 21:18
  you're
• 21:19
  casting
• 21:19
  is
• 21:20
  either
• 21:21
  rushing
• 21:21
  your
• 21:21
  back
• 21:21
  cast
• 21:22
  or
• 21:22
  waiting
• 21:22
  too
• 21:22
  long.
• 21:22
  Right?
• 21:23
  It's
• 21:23
  when
• 21:23
  you
• 21:23
  crack
• 21:23
  the
• 21:23
  whip
• 21:24
  at
• 21:24
  the
• 21:24
  back.
• 21:25
  That's
• 21:25
  what
• 21:25
  caused
• 21:25
  that
• 21:26
  tail
• 21:26
  to
• 21:26
  whip
• 21:26
  around
• 21:27
  and
• 21:27
  foul
• 21:27
  on
• 21:27
  the
• 21:27
  hook
• 21:28
  most
• 21:28
  of
• 21:28
  the
• 21:28
  time.
• 21:29
  But
• 21:29
  at
• 21:29
  the
• 21:29
  beginning,
• 21:30
  he
• 21:30
  used
• 21:31
  to
• 21:31
  put
• 21:31
  a
• 21:31
  little
• 21:31
  anti
• 21:31
  foul
• 21:32
  guard
• 21:32
  around
• 21:32
  his
• 21:33
  by
• 21:34
  just
• 21:34
  putting
• 21:34
  a
• 21:34
  little
• 21:34
  bit
• 21:34
  of
• 21:34
  bucktail
• 21:35
  around
• 21:35
  there.
• 21:35
  If
• 21:35
  you
• 21:35
  have
• 21:36
  his
• 21:36
  book,
• 21:36
  it's
• 21:36
  in
• 21:36
  there,
• 21:37
  he
• 21:37
  shows
• 21:37
  you
• 21:37
  how
• 21:37
  to
• 21:37
  do
• 21:37
  it,
• 21:39
  and
• 21:40
  it
• 21:40
  just
• 21:40
  helps
• 21:40
  stiffen
• 21:41
  up
• 21:41
  that
• 21:41
  first
• 21:41
  inch
• 21:42
  of
• 21:42
  the
• 21:42
  feather
• 21:42
  going
• 21:42
  out
• 21:43
  past
• 21:43
  the
• 21:43
  bend
• 21:43
  of
• 21:43
  the
• 21:43
  hook,
• 21:45
  and
• 21:45
  it
• 21:45
  really
• 21:45
  does
• 21:46
  prevent
• 21:46
  it
• 21:46
  from
• 21:46
  fouling
• 21:48
  very
• 21:48
  well.
• 21:50
  So,
• 21:51
  you
• 21:52
  know,
• 21:52
  I'm.
• 21:52
  I'm
• 21:53
  just
• 21:53
  impressed
• 21:53
  with
• 21:53
  all
• 21:54
  of
• 21:54
  the,
• 21:56
  you
• 21:56
  know,
• 21:56
  the
• 21:56
  thought
• 21:56
  that
• 21:56
  they
• 21:57
  put
• 21:57
  into
• 21:57
  these
• 21:57
  things.
• 21:57
  You
• 21:58
  know,
• 21:58
  Lou
• 21:58
  Tabory's
• 21:59
  snake
• 21:59
  fly
• 21:59
  is
• 21:59
  another
• 22:00
  really
• 22:00
  good
• 22:00
  example
• 22:01
  of
• 22:01
  that.
• 22:01
  If
• 22:02
  you
• 22:02
  fish
• 22:02
  at
• 22:02
  night
• 22:02
  for
• 22:02
  stripers
• 22:03
  from
• 22:03
  anywhere
• 22:04
  from,
• 22:06
  you
• 22:06
  know,
• 22:06
  Virginia
• 22:07
  and
• 22:07
  Maryland,
• 22:07
  all
• 22:08
  the
• 22:08
  way
• 22:08
  up
• 22:08
  through
• 22:08
  Maine,
• 22:09
  if
• 22:09
  you're
• 22:10
  not
• 22:10
  fishing
• 22:10
  a
• 22:10
  black
• 22:10
  or
• 22:10
  black
• 22:11
  and
• 22:11
  purple
• 22:11
  Tabory
• 22:12
  at
• 22:12
  night,
• 22:13
  well,
• 22:13
  you're
• 22:14
  kind
• 22:14
  of
• 22:14
  missing
• 22:14
  out
• 22:16
  the.
• 22:16
  You
• 22:16
  can
• 22:16
  tie
• 22:16
  it
• 22:17
  to
• 22:17
  be
• 22:17
  as
• 22:17
  small
• 22:17
  as,
• 22:18
  you
• 22:18
  know,
• 22:18
  three
• 22:18
  or
• 22:18
  four
• 22:18
  inches
• 22:19
  or
• 22:19
  as
• 22:19
  long
• 22:19
  as
• 22:20
  eight
• 22:20
  or
• 22:21
  nine.
• 22:22
  You
• 22:22
  can
• 22:22
  make
• 22:22
  it
• 22:22
  super
• 22:22
  skinny,
• 22:24
  big
• 22:24
  and
• 22:24
  fat.
• 22:25
  It.
• 22:25
  He
• 22:25
  talks
• 22:26
  about
• 22:26
  it,
• 22:26
  you
• 22:26
  know,
• 22:27
  in
• 22:27
  his
• 22:27
  books
• 22:27
  about
• 22:28
  the
• 22:28
  fly
• 22:28
  is
• 22:29
  what
• 22:29
  you
• 22:29
  need
• 22:29
  it
• 22:29
  to
• 22:29
  be.
• 22:30
  Have
• 22:30
  it
• 22:30
  imitate
• 22:30
  whatever
• 22:31
  bait
• 22:31
  you.
• 22:32
  Is
• 22:32
  around.
• 22:33
  But
• 22:34
  the
• 22:34
  point
• 22:34
  of
• 22:34
  the
• 22:34
  fly
• 22:35
  was
• 22:35
  that
• 22:35
  at
• 22:36
  no
• 22:36
  point
• 22:36
  is
• 22:36
  it
• 22:37
  not
• 22:37
  in
• 22:37
  motion.
• 22:37
  There's
• 22:38
  ostrich,
• 22:38
  there's
• 22:38
  marabou,
• 22:39
  there's
• 22:39
  flash.
• 22:40
  Then
• 22:41
  you
• 22:41
  have
• 22:41
  that
• 22:41
  deer
• 22:41
  hair
• 22:42
  head
• 22:42
  that's,
• 22:42
  you
• 22:42
  know,
• 22:42
  giving
• 22:43
  a
• 22:43
  sonic
• 22:43
  footprint
• 22:44
  to
• 22:44
  it
• 22:44
  as
• 22:44
  well.
• 22:45
  So
• 22:46
  it's,
• 22:46
  it's
• 22:47
  just
• 22:47
  incredibly
• 22:48
  effective.
• 22:49
  Um,
• 22:50
  so
• 22:51
  there's
• 22:51
  a.
• 22:52
  I
• 22:52
  think
• 22:52
  there's
• 22:52
  a
• 22:52
  lot
• 22:53
  of
• 22:53
  older
• 22:54
  flies
• 22:54
  that
• 22:54
  people
• 22:54
  like,
• 22:55
  we've
• 22:55
  been
• 22:55
  talking
• 22:55
  about,
• 22:55
  that
• 22:55
  people
• 22:56
  need
• 22:56
  to,
• 22:57
  to
• 22:57
  learn
• 22:57
  about.
• 22:58
  Um,
• 23:00
  so
• 23:01
  hopefully
• 23:01
  this,
• 23:01
  this
• 23:01
  podcast,
• 23:02
  you
• 23:02
  know,
• 23:03
  gives
• 23:03
  them
• 23:03
  the
• 23:04
  idea
• 23:04
  to
• 23:04
  go
• 23:04
  do
• 23:05
  some
• 23:05
  research.
• 23:05
  Yeah,
• 23:06
  I
• 23:06
  mean,
• 23:06
  it's
• 23:06
  interesting,
• 23:07
  right?
• 23:07
  I
• 23:07
  mean,
• 23:07
  it's.
• 23:07
  I
• 23:08
  think
• 23:08
  one
• 23:08
  of
• 23:08
  the,
• 23:08
  The.
• 23:08
  One
• 23:09
  of
• 23:09
  my
• 23:09
  favorite
• 23:09
  stories
• 23:10
  is
• 23:10
  basically
• 23:10
  how
• 23:11
  the
• 23:11
  Clouser
• 23:12
  minnow
• 23:12
  didn't
• 23:12
  start
• 23:12
  out
• 23:13
  with
• 23:13
  dumbbell
• 23:13
  eyes
• 23:14
  like
• 23:14
  the
• 23:14
  gremlin
• 23:15
  weights.
• 23:16
  Yeah,
• 23:17
  that's
• 23:17
  what
• 23:17
  I
• 23:17
  mean.
• 23:17
  Like,
• 23:18
  he
• 23:18
  was
• 23:18
  just
• 23:18
  pinching
• 23:18
  the
• 23:19
  split
• 23:19
  shot
• 23:19
  on
• 23:19
  there.
• 23:20
  Yeah.
• 23:21
  And
• 23:21
  so,
• 23:21
  I
• 23:21
  mean,
• 23:21
  it's
• 23:21
  interesting,
• 23:22
  but
• 23:22
  I
• 23:22
  also
• 23:22
  think
• 23:22
  too,
• 23:22
  like,
• 23:23
  you
• 23:23
  know,
• 23:23
  if
• 23:23
  you
• 23:23
  just
• 23:23
  kind
• 23:23
  of
• 23:24
  look
• 23:24
  at,
• 23:24
  like,
• 23:27
  you
• 23:27
  know,
• 23:28
  how
• 23:28
  simply
• 23:28
  dressed
• 23:29
  these
• 23:29
  flies
• 23:29
  are.
• 23:30
  Right.
• 23:30
  Yes.
• 23:31
  You
• 23:32
  know,
• 23:32
  so
• 23:32
  you
• 23:32
  start
• 23:32
  talking
• 23:33
  about
• 23:33
  kind
• 23:33
  of
• 23:33
  the
• 23:33
  basics
• 23:34
  of,
• 23:34
  you
• 23:34
  know,
• 23:36
  you
• 23:36
  know,
• 23:36
  profile,
• 23:38
  you
• 23:39
  know,
• 23:39
  all
• 23:39
  of
• 23:39
  those
• 23:40
  types
• 23:40
  of
• 23:40
  kind
• 23:40
  of
• 23:40
  basic
• 23:41
  kind
• 23:41
  of
• 23:41
  constructions
• 23:42
  of
• 23:42
  fly
• 23:43
  tying
• 23:43
  and
• 23:43
  fishing
• 23:44
  that
• 23:44
  really,
• 23:45
  you
• 23:45
  know,
• 23:46
  kind
• 23:46
  of
• 23:46
  like
• 23:46
  fishing
• 23:47
  one
• 23:47
  fly
• 23:47
  for
• 23:47
  a
• 23:48
  year,
• 23:48
  fishing
• 23:48
  one
• 23:48
  piece
• 23:48
  of
• 23:49
  water
• 23:49
  for
• 23:49
  a
• 23:49
  year.
• 23:50
  You
• 23:50
  know,
• 23:50
  if
• 23:50
  you
• 23:51
  really
• 23:51
  kind
• 23:51
  of
• 23:52
  get
• 23:52
  rid
• 23:52
  of
• 23:52
  the
• 23:52
  fluff.
• 23:53
  Right.
• 23:53
  It
• 23:53
  really
• 23:54
  helps
• 23:54
  you
• 23:54
  kind
• 23:54
  of
• 23:54
  drill
• 23:54
  into
• 23:55
  what's
• 23:55
  really,
• 23:55
  really
• 23:56
  important.
• 23:57
  Yes.
• 24:00
  Like,
• 24:01
  well
• 24:01
  said.
• 24:01
  I
• 24:02
  can't
• 24:02
  agree
• 24:02
  with
• 24:02
  you
• 24:02
  anymore.
• 24:03
  It's
• 24:04
  simplicity
• 24:05
  is
• 24:05
  really
• 24:06
  what
• 24:07
  makes
• 24:07
  really
• 24:07
  great
• 24:08
  patterns
• 24:08
  great
• 24:09
  because
• 24:10
  it's.
• 24:11
  It's
• 24:11
  all
• 24:11
  well
• 24:11
  and
• 24:11
  good
• 24:11
  to
• 24:12
  have
• 24:12
  a
• 24:12
  fly
• 24:12
  that
• 24:12
  takes
• 24:12
  45
• 24:13
  minutes
• 24:13
  to
• 24:13
  tie.
• 24:14
  You
• 24:14
  know,
• 24:15
  I,
• 24:15
  I
• 24:15
  love
• 24:16
  fishing.
• 24:16
  Dave's
• 24:17
  extra
• 24:17
  ultralight
• 24:17
  air
• 24:18
  jet
• 24:18
  minnows,
• 24:18
  but
• 24:18
  they're
• 24:19
  not
• 24:19
  a,
• 24:19
  A
• 24:19
  flat.
• 24:20
  A
• 24:20
  fast
• 24:20
  popping
• 24:21
  bug
• 24:21
  to,
• 24:21
  to
• 24:22
  tie
• 24:22
  up,
• 24:23
  you
• 24:23
  know,
• 24:24
  but
• 24:24
  it's,
• 24:25
  you
• 24:25
  know,
• 24:25
  they're
• 24:25
  effective,
• 24:27
  but,
• 24:27
  you
• 24:27
  know,
• 24:28
  it's
• 24:28
  hard
• 24:29
  to
• 24:29
  beat
• 24:29
  Lefty's
• 24:29
  popping
• 24:30
  bug
• 24:30
  if
• 24:30
  you
• 24:30
  just
• 24:31
  want
• 24:31
  something
• 24:31
  that's
• 24:31
  quick
• 24:31
  and
• 24:32
  kind
• 24:32
  of
• 24:32
  down
• 24:32
  and
• 24:32
  dirty,
• 24:33
  you
• 24:33
  know,
• 24:33
  it's.
• 24:34
  Three
• 24:35
  quarters
• 24:35
  is
• 24:35
  good
• 24:37
  for.
• 24:38
  You
• 24:38
  can
• 24:38
  put
• 24:38
  one
• 24:38
  of
• 24:38
  those
• 24:39
  together
• 24:39
  and
• 24:39
  probably,
• 24:40
  you
• 24:40
  know,
• 24:40
  if
• 24:40
  you
• 24:40
  don't
• 24:40
  count
• 24:41
  paint
• 24:41
  less
• 24:41
  than
• 24:41
  five
• 24:42
  minutes.
• 24:43
  So
• 24:45
  it's
• 24:45
  a,
• 24:46
  A
• 24:47
  lot
• 24:47
  of
• 24:47
  these
• 24:47
  older
• 24:47
  bugs
• 24:48
  are
• 24:48
  really
• 24:49
  like
• 24:49
  that.
• 24:50
  Yeah,
• 24:50
  I,
• 24:51
  I
• 24:51
  think
• 24:51
  too,
• 24:51
  there's
• 24:52
  a
• 24:52
  generational
• 24:52
  component
• 24:53
  of
• 24:53
  resourcefulness.
• 24:54
  Right.
• 24:54
  So
• 24:54
  you're
• 24:55
  talking
• 24:55
  about
• 24:55
  kind
• 24:55
  of
• 24:55
  people
• 24:56
  of
• 24:56
  that
• 24:56
  generation
• 24:57
  being,
• 24:57
  you
• 24:58
  know,
• 24:58
  pretty
• 24:59
  close
• 24:59
  to
• 24:59
  depression
• 24:59
  era
• 25:00
  kids
• 25:00
  or
• 25:00
  not
• 25:01
  too
• 25:01
  far
• 25:01
  after
• 25:01
  that.
• 25:02
  Right.
• 25:02
  And.
• 25:03
  And
• 25:03
  there's
• 25:03
  a
• 25:03
  level
• 25:04
  of
• 25:04
  resourcefulness
• 25:06
  that,
• 25:07
  you
• 25:07
  know,
• 25:07
  we
• 25:07
  just
• 25:07
  don't
• 25:08
  have
• 25:08
  anymore.
• 25:08
  Where.
• 25:09
  And
• 25:09
  you
• 25:10
  know,
• 25:10
  my
• 25:10
  favorite
• 25:10
  kind
• 25:11
  of
• 25:11
  story
• 25:12
  I
• 25:12
  have
• 25:12
  about
• 25:12
  that
• 25:12
  is,
• 25:12
  I
• 25:13
  think
• 25:13
  the
• 25:13
  first
• 25:13
  time
• 25:13
  I
• 25:13
  met
• 25:13
  Popovics,
• 25:15
  you
• 25:15
  know,
• 25:15
  he
• 25:15
  literally
• 25:15
  had
• 25:16
  a,
• 25:16
  a
• 25:16
  big
• 25:16
  tube
• 25:17
  of
• 25:17
  GE
• 25:18
  silicone
• 25:18
  and
• 25:19
  he
• 25:19
  was
• 25:19
  making
• 25:19
  lips
• 25:20
  with
• 25:20
  ramswool.
• 25:20
  Right.
• 25:22
  And
• 25:22
  that
• 25:22
  level
• 25:23
  of
• 25:23
  resourcefulness
• 25:24
  where
• 25:24
  you
• 25:24
  couldn't
• 25:24
  go
• 25:24
  to,
• 25:25
  you
• 25:25
  know,
• 25:25
  for
• 25:25
  lack
• 25:26
  of
• 25:26
  a
• 25:26
  better
• 25:26
  word,
• 25:27
  fly
• 25:27
  tying,
• 25:27
  Walmart
• 25:29
  and
• 25:29
  kind
• 25:29
  of
• 25:29
  buy
• 25:29
  whatever
• 25:30
  you
• 25:30
  wanted.
• 25:30
  I
• 25:30
  was
• 25:30
  kind
• 25:31
  of
• 25:31
  curious,
• 25:31
  you
• 25:31
  know,
• 25:33
  you
• 25:33
  know,
• 25:33
  how
• 25:33
  getting
• 25:34
  away
• 25:34
  from
• 25:34
  that,
• 25:35
  you
• 25:35
  know,
• 25:35
  has
• 25:35
  affected,
• 25:37
  you
• 25:37
  know,
• 25:37
  modern
• 25:38
  fly
• 25:38
  tying.
• 25:41
  What
• 25:41
  I
• 25:42
  will
• 25:42
  say
• 25:42
  is
• 25:42
  I
• 25:42
  still
• 25:42
  think
• 25:43
  there's
• 25:43
  a.
• 25:43
  It's
• 25:44
  a
• 25:44
  small
• 25:44
  population
• 25:44
  now
• 25:45
  that
• 25:45
  still
• 25:45
  goes
• 25:45
  to
• 25:46
  Michaels
• 25:46
  and
• 25:47
  Joann's
• 25:47
  Fabrics
• 25:48
  to
• 25:48
  do
• 25:48
  things,
• 25:48
  you
• 25:48
  know,
• 25:49
  to
• 25:49
  get
• 25:49
  some
• 25:49
  of
• 25:49
  the
• 25:49
  materials,
• 25:50
  whether
• 25:51
  it's
• 25:51
  glass
• 25:51
  beads
• 25:52
  or
• 25:52
  plastic
• 25:52
  beads,
• 25:53
  you
• 25:54
  know,
• 25:54
  or
• 25:54
  just
• 25:55
  if
• 25:55
  you
• 25:55
  want
• 25:55
  to
• 25:55
  save
• 25:55
  money
• 25:55
  on
• 25:56
  just
• 25:56
  regular
• 25:56
  brass
• 25:56
  beads,
• 25:57
  get
• 25:57
  them
• 25:57
  from
• 25:58
  there.
• 25:59
  You
• 25:59
  know,
• 26:00
  they
• 26:00
  might
• 26:00
  not
• 26:00
  be
• 26:00
  countersunk,
• 26:01
  so
• 26:02
  getting
• 26:02
  them
• 26:02
  around
• 26:02
  the
• 26:03
  bend
• 26:03
  of
• 26:03
  the
• 26:03
  hook
• 26:03
  is
• 26:03
  a
• 26:03
  little
• 26:03
  bit
• 26:04
  more
• 26:04
  difficult.
• 26:04
  But
• 26:04
  as
• 26:04
  long
• 26:04
  as
• 26:05
  you're
• 26:05
  crimping
• 26:05
  your
• 26:05
  barbs,
• 26:06
  it
• 26:06
  go.
• 26:06
  They
• 26:07
  go
• 26:07
  around
• 26:07
  quite
• 26:07
  easily
• 26:08
  still.
• 26:10
  But,
• 26:10
  you
• 26:10
  know,
• 26:11
  there's.
• 26:12
  I
• 26:13
  still
• 26:13
  go
• 26:13
  there.
• 26:14
  You
• 26:14
  know,
• 26:14
  I
• 26:14
  get
• 26:14
  most
• 26:15
  of
• 26:15
  my
• 26:15
  foam
• 26:15
  from
• 26:15
  there
• 26:16
  for
• 26:16
  my
• 26:17
  sheep
• 26:17
  foam.
• 26:17
  And
• 26:19
  you
• 26:19
  know,
• 26:20
  a
• 26:20
  lot
• 26:20
  of
• 26:20
  my
• 26:21
  bonefish
• 26:22
  bodies
• 26:22
  are,
• 26:23
  you
• 26:23
  know,
• 26:23
  the,
• 26:24
  the
• 26:24
  braid
• 26:25
  kind
• 26:25
  of.
• 26:25
  I
• 26:25
  don't
• 26:25
  know
• 26:25
  what
• 26:26
  to
• 26:26
  call
• 26:26
  it.
• 26:26
  It's
• 26:27
  no
• 26:27
  the
• 26:27
  brand,
• 26:28
  it's
• 26:28
  fry
• 26:28
  work,
• 26:29
  but
• 26:29
  it's,
• 26:29
  it's
• 26:30
  the
• 26:30
  braid
• 26:30
  that's
• 26:30
  used
• 26:31
  in
• 26:31
  needlecraft
• 26:31
  for
• 26:32
  when
• 26:32
  you
• 26:33
  have
• 26:33
  the
• 26:33
  hoop
• 26:33
  of,
• 26:35
  you
• 26:35
  know,
• 26:36
  like
• 26:36
  a
• 26:37
  piece
• 26:37
  of
• 26:37
  fabric
• 26:38
  and
• 26:38
  you
• 26:38
  needle
• 26:39
  through
• 26:39
  it.
• 26:41
  Needlepoint,
• 26:41
  I
• 26:41
  think
• 26:42
  it's
• 26:42
  what
• 26:42
  it's
• 26:42
  called.
• 26:42
  Yeah.
• 26:43
  Or
• 26:43
  maybe,
• 26:43
  maybe
• 26:43
  embroidery
• 26:44
  thread.
• 26:45
  Yeah.
• 26:45
  But
• 26:45
  it's,
• 26:45
  it's
• 26:46
  you
• 26:46
  know,
• 26:47
  I'm
• 26:47
  buying
• 26:47
  stuff
• 26:47
  that
• 26:47
  might
• 26:47
  be
• 26:47
  an
• 26:48
  eighth
• 26:48
  of
• 26:48
  an
• 26:48
  inch
• 26:48
  wide
• 26:49
  or
• 26:49
  whatever,
• 26:50
  but
• 26:50
  it
• 26:50
  comes
• 26:50
  in
• 26:51
  so
• 26:51
  many
• 26:51
  colors
• 26:51
  and
• 26:52
  it's
• 26:52
  got
• 26:52
  metalized
• 26:53
  fat.
• 26:54
  There's
• 26:54
  also
• 26:54
  polyester
• 26:55
  fiber
• 26:55
  to
• 26:55
  it.
• 26:55
  So
• 26:55
  it's
• 26:55
  got
• 26:55
  really
• 26:56
  good
• 26:56
  strength.
• 26:58
  And
• 26:58
  it,
• 26:58
  it
• 26:58
  takes
• 26:59
  resin
• 27:00
  well,
• 27:00
  or
• 27:00
  it
• 27:00
  takes
• 27:01
  fleximate
• 27:01
  well
• 27:02
  because
• 27:02
  of
• 27:02
  that,
• 27:02
  it's
• 27:02
  kind
• 27:03
  of
• 27:03
  little
• 27:04
  wicking
• 27:04
  that
• 27:05
  holds
• 27:05
  those,
• 27:05
  you
• 27:06
  know,
• 27:06
  those
• 27:06
  adhesives
• 27:06
  well.
• 27:07
  But
• 27:07
  there's
• 27:08
  a
• 27:08
  ton
• 27:08
  of
• 27:08
  stuff
• 27:08
  like
• 27:08
  that
• 27:09
  you
• 27:09
  can
• 27:09
  get
• 27:09
  at
• 27:09
  those
• 27:09
  stores
• 27:11
  Eons.
• 27:12
  My
• 27:12
  friend
• 27:12
  Joe
• 27:13
  Jackson,
• 27:13
  you
• 27:13
  know,
• 27:14
  the,
• 27:14
  the.
• 27:15
  He
• 27:15
  showed
• 27:15
  me
• 27:15
  the
• 27:16
  best
• 27:16
  leg
• 27:16
  puller
• 27:16
  I've
• 27:17
  ever
• 27:17
  seen.
• 27:17
  He
• 27:17
  uses
• 27:18
  an.
• 27:18
  I
• 27:19
  forget
• 27:19
  the
• 27:19
  size,
• 27:19
  but
• 27:19
  it's
• 27:19
  an
• 27:20
  embroidery
• 27:20
  needle
• 27:20
  that's
• 27:20
  about
• 27:21
  5
• 27:21
  inches
• 27:21
  long.
• 27:22
  It's
• 27:23
  so
• 27:23
  much
• 27:23
  easier
• 27:23
  than
• 27:24
  trying
• 27:24
  to
• 27:24
  deal
• 27:24
  with
• 27:24
  all
• 27:24
  the
• 27:24
  smaller
• 27:25
  needles
• 27:25
  that
• 27:25
  we've
• 27:26
  done
• 27:26
  over
• 27:26
  the
• 27:27
  years.
• 27:28
  You
• 27:29
  know,
• 27:29
  it's
• 27:30
  big
• 27:30
  enough
• 27:30
  that,
• 27:30
  you
• 27:31
  know,
• 27:31
  it
• 27:31
  still
• 27:31
  slides
• 27:31
  right
• 27:32
  through
• 27:32
  the
• 27:32
  hair,
• 27:32
  but
• 27:32
  it's
• 27:33
  big
• 27:33
  enough
• 27:33
  you
• 27:33
  can
• 27:33
  grab
• 27:33
  it
• 27:34
  with
• 27:34
  pliers
• 27:34
  or
• 27:34
  your
• 27:34
  fingers
• 27:35
  and
• 27:35
  pull
• 27:35
  it
• 27:35
  through.
• 27:36
  So
• 27:36
  there's
• 27:36
  a
• 27:37
  lot
• 27:37
  of
• 27:37
  things
• 27:37
  that
• 27:38
  we
• 27:38
  can
• 27:38
  get
• 27:38
  from
• 27:38
  other
• 27:39
  stores.
• 27:41
  You
• 27:41
  know,
• 27:41
  I
• 27:41
  know
• 27:41
  Dave
• 27:42
  Whitlock
• 27:42
  used
• 27:43
  his,
• 27:43
  the
• 27:44
  eyes
• 27:44
  on
• 27:44
  his
• 27:44
  Matuka
• 27:45
  sculpin
• 27:45
  were
• 27:46
  doll
• 27:46
  eyes
• 27:47
  that
• 27:47
  he
• 27:47
  picked
• 27:47
  up
• 27:47
  at
• 27:47
  the,
• 27:48
  you
• 27:48
  know,
• 27:49
  Joanne's
• 27:50
  or
• 27:50
  Michael's.
• 27:52
  That's
• 27:52
  still
• 27:53
  what
• 27:53
  he
• 27:53
  used.
• 27:53
  He
• 27:54
  didn't
• 27:54
  like
• 27:54
  any
• 27:54
  of
• 27:54
  the.
• 27:55
  He
• 27:55
  had
• 27:55
  access
• 27:55
  to
• 27:56
  any
• 27:56
  eye
• 27:56
  he
• 27:56
  wanted,
• 27:57
  right,
• 27:57
  for
• 27:57
  that
• 27:57
  fly
• 27:58
  for
• 27:58
  the
• 27:58
  last
• 27:58
  20
• 27:59
  years.
• 27:59
  He
• 27:59
  didn't
• 28:00
  change
• 28:00
  it.
• 28:00
  He
• 28:00
  liked
• 28:01
  that
• 28:01
  eye.
• 28:01
  He
• 28:02
  thought
• 28:02
  it
• 28:02
  looked
• 28:02
  the
• 28:02
  most
• 28:02
  accurate.
• 28:04
  Yeah.
• 28:04
  It's
• 28:04
  interesting
• 28:05
  too,
• 28:05
  because
• 28:05
  I
• 28:05
  mean,
• 28:05
  I
• 28:06
  would
• 28:06
  guess,
• 28:06
  I
• 28:06
  mean,
• 28:06
  tools
• 28:07
  are
• 28:07
  a
• 28:07
  little
• 28:07
  bit
• 28:08
  different,
• 28:08
  but
• 28:08
  I
• 28:08
  would
• 28:08
  imagine
• 28:09
  probably
• 28:10
  95%
• 28:11
  of
• 28:11
  all
• 28:11
  fly
• 28:12
  tying
• 28:12
  material
• 28:12
  is
• 28:12
  repurposed
• 28:13
  from
• 28:13
  somewhere
• 28:14
  else.
• 28:15
  Oh,
• 28:15
  I,
• 28:16
  if
• 28:16
  it's
• 28:16
  not
• 28:16
  higher
• 28:17
  than
• 28:17
  that,
• 28:17
  I'd
• 28:17
  be
• 28:17
  surprised.
• 28:18
  About
• 28:18
  the
• 28:18
  only
• 28:18
  thing
• 28:18
  that
• 28:19
  isn't
• 28:19
  is
• 28:19
  our
• 28:20
  dry
• 28:20
  fly
• 28:20
  hackle,
• 28:20
  you
• 28:21
  know,
• 28:21
  and
• 28:21
  our,
• 28:21
  that
• 28:22
  stuff
• 28:22
  is
• 28:22
  bred
• 28:22
  for
• 28:23
  us,
• 28:23
  right?
• 28:23
  Whiting
• 28:24
  Farms
• 28:24
  and
• 28:24
  Ewing
• 28:24
  and
• 28:24
  Metz,
• 28:25
  they,
• 28:26
  they're
• 28:26
  growing
• 28:27
  the
• 28:27
  hackle
• 28:27
  for
• 28:27
  us.
• 28:28
  But
• 28:28
  everything
• 28:29
  else,
• 28:31
  you
• 28:31
  know,
• 28:32
  it's.
• 28:32
  We
• 28:33
  are
• 28:33
  the
• 28:33
  second
• 28:34
  third
• 28:35
  user
• 28:36
  of
• 28:36
  that
• 28:36
  product.
• 28:37
  You
• 28:37
  know,
• 28:37
  I,
• 28:37
  I
• 28:37
  live
• 28:37
  here
• 28:38
  in
• 28:38
  Manhattan
• 28:39
  and
• 28:39
  I
• 28:40
  can,
• 28:40
  I
• 28:40
  go
• 28:40
  down
• 28:40
  to
• 28:40
  the,
• 28:42
  the
• 28:42
  garment
• 28:42
  district
• 28:42
  all
• 28:43
  the
• 28:43
  time
• 28:43
  and
• 28:43
  get,
• 28:44
  and
• 28:44
  get
• 28:44
  saddle
• 28:45
  feathers
• 28:45
  down
• 28:45
  there.
• 28:46
  Granted,
• 28:46
  I
• 28:46
  have
• 28:46
  to
• 28:46
  buy
• 28:46
  it
• 28:47
  by
• 28:47
  the
• 28:47
  pound,
• 28:48
  so
• 28:48
  it's
• 28:48
  a
• 28:49
  year's
• 28:49
  supply
• 28:49
  for
• 28:49
  me,
• 28:49
  but
• 28:49
  I
• 28:50
  can
• 28:50
  get
• 28:50
  them
• 28:50
  for
• 28:51
  half
• 28:52
  the
• 28:52
  price
• 28:52
  of
• 28:52
  any
• 28:53
  wholesaler.
• 28:54
  Right.
• 28:55
  Or
• 28:55
  ostrich
• 28:56
  hurl.
• 28:56
  I
• 28:56
  can
• 28:56
  go
• 28:57
  down
• 28:57
  there
• 28:57
  and
• 28:57
  I
• 28:57
  can,
• 28:57
  I
• 28:57
  can
• 28:58
  sort
• 28:58
  through
• 28:59
  25
• 29:00
  to
• 29:00
  30
• 29:00
  inch
• 29:01
  long
• 29:01
  ostrich
• 29:01
  herlsheels
• 29:02
  that
• 29:02
  have
• 29:02
  8,8inchlongfiberson
• 29:04
  each
• 29:04
  side
• 29:04
  to
• 29:04
  get
• 29:04
  the
• 29:05
  ones
• 29:05
  I
• 29:05
  want.
• 29:06
  Kind
• 29:06
  of
• 29:07
  nice.
• 29:08
  Yeah,
• 29:08
  There
• 29:08
  are
• 29:08
  definitely
• 29:09
  advantages,
• 29:09
  which
• 29:10
  is
• 29:10
  a
• 29:10
  great
• 29:10
  segue
• 29:10
  to
• 29:11
  my
• 29:11
  next
• 29:11
  question.
• 29:11
  Right.
• 29:12
  Because,
• 29:12
  you
• 29:12
  know,
• 29:13
  classic
• 29:13
  patterns
• 29:14
  mean
• 29:14
  natural
• 29:14
  materials.
• 29:15
  And
• 29:15
  I
• 29:15
  was
• 29:15
  kind
• 29:15
  of
• 29:15
  curious,
• 29:16
  you
• 29:16
  know,
• 29:16
  how
• 29:16
  challenging.
• 29:17
  I
• 29:17
  mean,
• 29:17
  if
• 29:17
  you
• 29:17
  don't
• 29:17
  live
• 29:18
  in
• 29:18
  New
• 29:18
  York
• 29:18
  City,
• 29:18
  Right?
• 29:19
  Yeah.
• 29:20
  You
• 29:20
  know,
• 29:20
  how
• 29:20
  challenging
• 29:21
  is
• 29:21
  it
• 29:21
  to
• 29:21
  get
• 29:22
  the
• 29:22
  quality
• 29:23
  of
• 29:23
  the
• 29:23
  natural
• 29:23
  materials?
• 29:24
  You
• 29:24
  need
• 29:24
  to
• 29:24
  continue
• 29:24
  to
• 29:24
  tie
• 29:25
  these
• 29:25
  patterns.
• 29:25
  And
• 29:25
  I
• 29:26
  would
• 29:26
  say
• 29:26
  kind
• 29:26
  of
• 29:26
  a
• 29:26
  related
• 29:27
  question
• 29:27
  is
• 29:28
  it
• 29:28
  makes
• 29:28
  me
• 29:28
  think
• 29:29
  about
• 29:29
  like
• 29:29
  Griff's
• 29:29
  head
• 29:29
  cement.
• 29:30
  Like
• 29:30
  there
• 29:30
  are
• 29:30
  components
• 29:31
  that
• 29:31
  go
• 29:31
  away
• 29:31
  too,
• 29:32
  right?
• 29:33
  Yes.
• 29:34
  Yeah.
• 29:34
  Listen,
• 29:35
  that.
• 29:35
  It's
• 29:35
  funny
• 29:36
  you
• 29:36
  say
• 29:36
  that.
• 29:37
  When
• 29:38
  Dave
• 29:38
  taught
• 29:38
  me
• 29:38
  the
• 29:38
  Near
• 29:38
  Nuff
• 29:39
  Crayfish,
• 29:40
  I
• 29:40
  had
• 29:41
  the
• 29:41
  technique
• 29:41
  down
• 29:42
  that
• 29:42
  day.
• 29:43
  I've
• 29:43
  been
• 29:43
  tying
• 29:43
  for
• 29:43
  30
• 29:44
  years.
• 29:44
  Like
• 29:44
  the
• 29:44
  techniques
• 29:45
  in
• 29:45
  that
• 29:45
  pattern
• 29:45
  aren't
• 29:46
  that
• 29:46
  difficult.
• 29:47
  It
• 29:47
  took
• 29:48
  me
• 29:48
  18
• 29:48
  months
• 29:49
  to
• 29:49
  get
• 29:49
  him
• 29:49
  to
• 29:49
  approve
• 29:50
  that
• 29:50
  fly
• 29:51
  because
• 29:52
  it
• 29:53
  was
• 29:53
  finding
• 29:53
  the
• 29:53
  materials.
• 29:55
  He
• 29:55
  was
• 29:55
  going
• 29:55
  off
• 29:56
  materials
• 29:56
  that
• 29:56
  he
• 29:56
  had.
• 29:57
  So
• 29:57
  he
• 29:57
  had
• 29:57
  this
• 29:58
  really
• 29:58
  unique
• 29:58
  relationship
• 29:59
  with
• 30:00
  Tom
• 30:00
  Schmucker
• 30:01
  at
• 30:01
  Wapsi.
• 30:02
  You
• 30:02
  know,
• 30:02
  they
• 30:02
  had
• 30:03
  been
• 30:03
  friends
• 30:03
  for
• 30:03
  40
• 30:03
  years.
• 30:04
  He
• 30:04
  was
• 30:04
  out
• 30:04
  there
• 30:04
  promoting
• 30:05
  that
• 30:05
  company
• 30:05
  for
• 30:06
  all
• 30:06
  that
• 30:06
  time
• 30:06
  as
• 30:07
  well.
• 30:08
  So
• 30:08
  his
• 30:08
  deal
• 30:08
  was.
• 30:10
  And
• 30:10
  when
• 30:10
  he
• 30:11
  lived
• 30:11
  there,
• 30:11
  he
• 30:11
  took
• 30:11
  much
• 30:12
  more
• 30:12
  advantage
• 30:12
  of
• 30:12
  this.
• 30:14
  Walk
• 30:14
  through
• 30:14
  the
• 30:14
  warehouse,
• 30:14
  Dave,
• 30:15
  take
• 30:15
  whatever
• 30:15
  you
• 30:15
  want,
• 30:15
  whenever
• 30:16
  you
• 30:16
  want.
• 30:17
  So
• 30:17
  he
• 30:17
  would
• 30:17
  high
• 30:18
  grade
• 30:18
  on
• 30:18
  top
• 30:18
  of
• 30:18
  that.
• 30:18
  Like
• 30:19
  he
• 30:19
  would
• 30:19
  just
• 30:19
  walk
• 30:19
  in.
• 30:19
  Oh,
• 30:20
  my
• 30:20
  God.
• 30:20
  I
• 30:20
  already
• 30:20
  have
• 30:21
  six
• 30:21
  of
• 30:21
  those,
• 30:21
  but
• 30:21
  that
• 30:22
  one's
• 30:22
  amazing.
• 30:22
  Let
• 30:22
  me
• 30:22
  get
• 30:22
  a
• 30:23
  seven.
• 30:25
  So
• 30:25
  when
• 30:25
  he
• 30:26
  passed,
• 30:26
  he
• 30:26
  had
• 30:26
  28
• 30:27
  CRE
• 30:28
  necks
• 30:29
  sitting
• 30:29
  in
• 30:29
  a.
• 30:30
  Like
• 30:30
  a
• 30:30
  plastic
• 30:31
  shoebox.
• 30:32
  That's
• 30:32
  what
• 30:33
  he
• 30:33
  used
• 30:33
  for
• 30:33
  his
• 30:33
  matuka
• 30:34
  sculpin.
• 30:34
  You
• 30:34
  wonder
• 30:34
  why
• 30:35
  his
• 30:35
  matuka
• 30:35
  sculpens
• 30:36
  always
• 30:36
  looked
• 30:36
  so
• 30:36
  good.
• 30:37
  Cause
• 30:38
  he
• 30:38
  used
• 30:38
  actual
• 30:38
  Cree
• 30:39
  feathers.
• 30:41
  Well,
• 30:41
  you
• 30:42
  know,
• 30:42
  I
• 30:42
  couldn't
• 30:42
  find
• 30:43
  those.
• 30:43
  So.
• 30:44
  And
• 30:44
  he.
• 30:44
  And
• 30:45
  for
• 30:45
  the
• 30:45
  crayfish,
• 30:45
  he
• 30:46
  used
• 30:46
  Cree
• 30:46
  feathers
• 30:47
  as
• 30:47
  well
• 30:47
  for
• 30:47
  the
• 30:47
  claws.
• 30:48
  And
• 30:48
  then
• 30:48
  he
• 30:48
  would
• 30:48
  dye
• 30:49
  those
• 30:49
  olive,
• 30:50
  which
• 30:50
  is
• 30:50
  why
• 30:51
  his
• 30:51
  olive
• 30:51
  crayfish
• 30:52
  had
• 30:52
  that.
• 30:52
  It.
• 30:53
  They
• 30:53
  have
• 30:53
  a
• 30:53
  very
• 30:53
  brassy,
• 30:55
  shiny
• 30:55
  quality
• 30:56
  to
• 30:56
  them.
• 30:56
  Cause
• 30:56
  it
• 30:57
  wasn't
• 30:57
  a
• 30:57
  grizzly
• 30:58
  feather
• 30:58
  dyed
• 30:58
  olive.
• 30:59
  Right.
• 31:01
  They
• 31:01
  just
• 31:01
  really
• 31:02
  did
• 31:02
  look
• 31:02
  a
• 31:02
  lot
• 31:02
  better.
• 31:03
  But
• 31:03
  you
• 31:03
  know,
• 31:04
  it.
• 31:04
  After
• 31:04
  a
• 31:04
  year
• 31:04
  and
• 31:05
  a
• 31:05
  half,
• 31:05
  I
• 31:05
  found
• 31:06
  the
• 31:06
  claw
• 31:06
  materials.
• 31:06
  Finally
• 31:07
  I
• 31:07
  found
• 31:07
  the.
• 31:07
  The
• 31:08
  schloppen
• 31:08
  material.
• 31:09
  You
• 31:09
  know,
• 31:10
  the
• 31:10
  dubbing
• 31:11
  took.
• 31:11
  You
• 31:12
  know,
• 31:12
  that
• 31:12
  took
• 31:12
  six
• 31:12
  or
• 31:12
  eight
• 31:13
  months
• 31:13
  as
• 31:13
  well,
• 31:14
  because
• 31:15
  some
• 31:16
  of
• 31:16
  the
• 31:16
  dubbings
• 31:16
  that
• 31:16
  are
• 31:17
  out
• 31:17
  there
• 31:17
  weren't
• 31:17
  quite
• 31:17
  right.
• 31:18
  So
• 31:18
  he
• 31:18
  had
• 31:18
  to
• 31:18
  teach
• 31:18
  me
• 31:19
  how
• 31:19
  to
• 31:19
  make
• 31:19
  his
• 31:19
  dubbing
• 31:20
  for
• 31:20
  those.
• 31:20
  Um,
• 31:21
  so
• 31:21
  he
• 31:21
  had
• 31:21
  to
• 31:21
  go
• 31:22
  back
• 31:22
  to,
• 31:22
  you
• 31:22
  know,
• 31:22
  he
• 31:23
  just
• 31:23
  made
• 31:23
  it
• 31:23
  from
• 31:23
  Scratch.
• 31:24
  Every
• 31:24
  time
• 31:25
  he
• 31:25
  had
• 31:25
  just
• 31:25
  write
• 31:26
  it
• 31:26
  down,
• 31:26
  say,
• 31:26
  all
• 31:26
  right,
• 31:26
  it's
• 31:27
  this
• 31:27
  much
• 31:27
  of
• 31:27
  this.
• 31:28
  And
• 31:28
  then
• 31:28
  he
• 31:28
  sent
• 31:28
  me
• 31:29
  like
• 31:29
  a
• 31:29
  gallon
• 31:29
  Ziploc
• 31:30
  bag
• 31:30
  of
• 31:30
  each
• 31:30
  color.
• 31:31
  So
• 31:31
  here,
• 31:31
  use
• 31:32
  this
• 31:32
  as
• 31:32
  your
• 31:32
  reference.
• 31:35
  So,
• 31:35
  you
• 31:35
  know,
• 31:35
  after
• 31:36
  a
• 31:36
  while
• 31:36
  I
• 31:36
  was
• 31:36
  able
• 31:37
  to
• 31:37
  get
• 31:37
  my
• 31:38
  own
• 31:38
  fiber
• 31:39
  in
• 31:39
  to
• 31:40
  start
• 31:40
  doing
• 31:40
  my
• 31:40
  own
• 31:40
  blends
• 31:41
  for
• 31:41
  that.
• 31:42
  But
• 31:43
  there's
• 31:43
  a
• 31:43
  lot
• 31:43
  of
• 31:43
  stuff
• 31:43
  like
• 31:43
  that
• 31:44
  that's
• 31:44
  really
• 31:44
  hard.
• 31:45
  If
• 31:45
  you
• 31:45
  want
• 31:45
  to
• 31:45
  tie
• 31:46
  a
• 31:46
  really
• 31:46
  good
• 31:46
  Semper
• 31:46
  Fliy,
• 31:47
  which
• 31:47
  is
• 31:48
  an
• 31:48
  outstanding
• 31:49
  good
• 31:49
  fly,
• 31:50
  it's
• 31:51
  really
• 31:51
  hard
• 31:51
  to
• 31:51
  find
• 31:52
  the
• 31:52
  right
• 31:52
  tail
• 31:52
  feathers.
• 31:54
  You
• 31:54
  know,
• 31:54
  if
• 31:54
  you're
• 31:55
  on
• 31:55
  a,
• 31:55
  a
• 31:55
  Whiting
• 31:56
  Farms
• 31:56
  American
• 31:56
  hackle,
• 31:57
  there's
• 31:57
  only
• 31:59
  maybe
• 31:59
  three
• 31:59
  flies,
• 32:00
  four
• 32:00
  flies
• 32:01
  on
• 32:01
  that
• 32:01
  whole
• 32:01
  saddle.
• 32:03
  There's
• 32:03
  just
• 32:04
  not
• 32:04
  a
• 32:04
  lot
• 32:04
  of
• 32:04
  really
• 32:05
  good
• 32:05
  feathers
• 32:05
  on
• 32:05
  it
• 32:06
  because
• 32:07
  he
• 32:07
  really
• 32:07
  liked
• 32:07
  long,
• 32:08
  skinny
• 32:08
  feathers
• 32:09
  for
• 32:09
  that
• 32:09
  tail.
• 32:11
  So
• 32:11
  it's,
• 32:12
  it
• 32:12
  is
• 32:12
  a
• 32:13
  challenge.
• 32:14
  What
• 32:15
  I
• 32:15
  will
• 32:15
  say
• 32:15
  is,
• 32:15
  is
• 32:17
  I
• 32:17
  don't
• 32:17
  buy
• 32:17
  re.
• 32:18
  Pay
• 32:18
  retail
• 32:18
  for
• 32:19
  very
• 32:19
  much,
• 32:19
  but
• 32:19
  when
• 32:19
  I'm
• 32:20
  at
• 32:20
  a
• 32:20
  store
• 32:20
  and
• 32:20
  I
• 32:20
  see
• 32:20
  something
• 32:21
  that's
• 32:21
  just
• 32:21
  outstandingly
• 32:22
  good,
• 32:23
  I
• 32:23
  will
• 32:23
  pay
• 32:24
  retail.
• 32:25
  Um,
• 32:27
  and
• 32:27
  that,
• 32:27
  that's
• 32:28
  the
• 32:28
  only
• 32:28
  time
• 32:28
  I
• 32:29
  really
• 32:29
  will,
• 32:29
  is
• 32:30
  if
• 32:30
  it's
• 32:30
  something
• 32:30
  that's,
• 32:31
  you
• 32:32
  know,
• 32:33
  just
• 32:33
  extremely
• 32:34
  unique
• 32:34
  and
• 32:35
  hard
• 32:35
  to
• 32:35
  find.
• 32:36
  But
• 32:37
  it's,
• 32:38
  it,
• 32:38
  it
• 32:38
  is
• 32:39
  a
• 32:39
  serious
• 32:39
  challenge
• 32:40
  with
• 32:40
  some
• 32:40
  of
• 32:40
  these
• 32:40
  flies.
• 32:42
  Another
• 32:42
  one.
• 32:43
  Another
• 32:43
  material
• 32:43
  I
• 32:43
  struggle
• 32:44
  with
• 32:44
  is
• 32:44
  the,
• 32:44
  the
• 32:45
  shad
• 32:45
  cheeks
• 32:45
  for
• 32:46
  Dave's
• 32:46
  swimming
• 32:47
  and
• 32:48
  deep
• 32:49
  sheep
• 32:50
  shad
• 32:50
  minnow.
• 32:51
  They're
• 32:51
  just
• 32:52
  mallard
• 32:52
  flank,
• 32:52
  which
• 32:53
  doesn't
• 32:53
  sound
• 32:53
  like
• 32:53
  it's
• 32:53
  very
• 32:54
  difficult
• 32:54
  to
• 32:54
  get,
• 32:55
  except
• 32:55
  for
• 32:55
  you
• 32:55
  have
• 32:56
  to
• 32:56
  remember
• 32:56
  most
• 32:56
  mallard
• 32:56
  flank
• 32:57
  is
• 32:57
  harvested
• 32:58
  from.
• 32:58
  Yes,
• 32:59
  they're
• 32:59
  wild
• 32:59
  birds
• 32:59
  that
• 33:00
  were
• 33:00
  hunted,
• 33:00
  but
• 33:01
  they're
• 33:01
  using
• 33:01
  those
• 33:02
  plucking
• 33:02
  machines
• 33:03
  now.
• 33:04
  That
• 33:05
  completely
• 33:05
  destroys
• 33:05
  the
• 33:06
  feather
• 33:06
  for
• 33:07
  what
• 33:07
  I
• 33:07
  needed
• 33:07
  to
• 33:07
  do.
• 33:07
  If
• 33:08
  you're
• 33:08
  gonna
• 33:08
  palmer
• 33:09
  it
• 33:09
  and
• 33:09
  wrap
• 33:09
  it,
• 33:09
  you
• 33:10
  know,
• 33:10
  in
• 33:10
  a
• 33:10
  streamer,
• 33:11
  it's
• 33:11
  fine
• 33:11
  still.
• 33:12
  But
• 33:12
  I
• 33:12
  need
• 33:13
  it
• 33:13
  to
• 33:13
  stitch
• 33:13
  to
• 33:13
  hold
• 33:14
  that
• 33:14
  its
• 33:14
  same
• 33:15
  shape.
• 33:15
  So
• 33:15
  mine
• 33:15
  basically
• 33:16
  have
• 33:16
  to
• 33:16
  be
• 33:16
  hand
• 33:16
  plucked
• 33:18
  and
• 33:18
  I
• 33:18
  don't
• 33:18
  hunt
• 33:19
  anymore.
• 33:19
  Cause
• 33:20
  I
• 33:20
  live
• 33:20
  in
• 33:20
  New
• 33:20
  York
• 33:21
  and
• 33:21
  there's
• 33:21
  not
• 33:21
  really
• 33:21
  great
• 33:21
  duck
• 33:22
  hunting
• 33:22
  around.
• 33:22
  So
• 33:22
  I
• 33:22
  always
• 33:22
  have
• 33:23
  to
• 33:23
  rely
• 33:24
  on
• 33:24
  friends
• 33:25
  to
• 33:25
  go
• 33:26
  out
• 33:26
  and
• 33:26
  hunt
• 33:27
  a
• 33:27
  duck.
• 33:27
  And
• 33:27
  then
• 33:27
  I
• 33:28
  have
• 33:28
  to
• 33:28
  find
• 33:28
  somebody
• 33:28
  that's
• 33:29
  willing
• 33:29
  to
• 33:29
  hand
• 33:29
  pluck
• 33:29
  a
• 33:30
  bird,
• 33:30
  which
• 33:31
  is
• 33:31
  not
• 33:31
  fun.
• 33:33
  You
• 33:33
  know,
• 33:33
  it's
• 33:34
  a
• 33:34
  lot
• 33:34
  of
• 33:34
  work.
• 33:35
  So
• 33:36
  there's.
• 33:37
  That's
• 33:37
  another
• 33:37
  one
• 33:37
  that's
• 33:38
  a
• 33:38
  challenge
• 33:39
  to
• 33:39
  get.
• 33:40
  Yeah.
• 33:41
  So
• 33:41
  I
• 33:41
  guess
• 33:41
  Wonder
• 33:42
  Bread
• 33:42
  and
• 33:42
  Central
• 33:42
  park
• 33:43
  are
• 33:43
  off
• 33:43
  limits.
• 33:44
  Yeah.
• 33:45
  Listen,
• 33:45
  I'm,
• 33:45
  I'm
• 33:46
  sure
• 33:46
  I
• 33:46
  could,
• 33:47
  but
• 33:48
  I
• 33:49
  probably
• 33:49
  shouldn't
• 33:49
  do
• 33:49
  that.
• 33:50
  Yeah,
• 33:50
  fair
• 33:50
  enough.
• 33:51
  And
• 33:51
  so,
• 33:51
  you
• 33:51
  know,
• 33:52
  folks
• 33:52
  don't
• 33:52
  know
• 33:52
  you
• 33:52
  spend
• 33:53
  quite
• 33:53
  a
• 33:53
  Few
• 33:53
  hours
• 33:54
  a
• 33:54
  week
• 33:54
  as
• 33:55
  a
• 33:55
  commercial
• 33:55
  tire
• 33:55
  at
• 33:56
  your
• 33:56
  vice.
• 33:56
  How
• 33:57
  have
• 33:57
  these
• 33:58
  classic
• 33:58
  patterns
• 33:59
  affected
• 33:59
  you
• 33:59
  as
• 33:59
  a
• 34:00
  commercial
• 34:00
  tier?
• 34:02
  I
• 34:02
  think
• 34:02
  it.
• 34:02
  They.
• 34:03
  They've
• 34:03
  made
• 34:03
  me
• 34:06
  appreciate,
• 34:08
  you
• 34:08
  know,
• 34:09
  the
• 34:09
  artfulness
• 34:10
  that
• 34:10
  these
• 34:10
  guys
• 34:10
  used
• 34:10
  to
• 34:10
  have.
• 34:14
  A
• 34:14
  lot
• 34:15
  of
• 34:15
  people
• 34:15
  think,
• 34:15
  you
• 34:15
  know,
• 34:15
  and
• 34:16
  I
• 34:16
  know
• 34:16
  Lefty
• 34:16
  says
• 34:16
  that
• 34:17
  Bob
• 34:17
  was
• 34:17
  the.
• 34:17
  The
• 34:17
  best
• 34:18
  fly
• 34:18
  tier
• 34:18
  he's
• 34:18
  ever
• 34:19
  met.
• 34:19
  And
• 34:19
  I
• 34:20
  won't
• 34:20
  disagree
• 34:20
  with
• 34:20
  him.
• 34:22
  But
• 34:23
  what
• 34:23
  I
• 34:23
  will
• 34:23
  say
• 34:23
  is
• 34:24
  I.
• 34:24
  I
• 34:24
  think
• 34:24
  Dave
• 34:25
  Whitlock
• 34:25
  is
• 34:25
  right
• 34:25
  there.
• 34:27
  Maybe
• 34:27
  even
• 34:27
  technically
• 34:28
  better,
• 34:28
  in
• 34:28
  my
• 34:28
  opinion.
• 34:29
  But
• 34:29
  they
• 34:29
  had
• 34:30
  the
• 34:30
  same
• 34:31
  thing
• 34:31
  that
• 34:31
  I
• 34:31
  don't
• 34:32
  think
• 34:32
  many
• 34:32
  other
• 34:32
  fly
• 34:33
  tires
• 34:33
  did.
• 34:34
  They
• 34:34
  both
• 34:34
  studied
• 34:35
  their
• 34:35
  quarry
• 34:36
  or
• 34:36
  their
• 34:36
  bait
• 34:37
  that
• 34:37
  they
• 34:37
  were
• 34:37
  trying
• 34:37
  to
• 34:37
  imitate
• 34:38
  what
• 34:38
  they
• 34:38
  might
• 34:38
  have
• 34:39
  been.
• 34:39
  Flies,
• 34:39
  sculpins,
• 34:40
  crayfish,
• 34:41
  all
• 34:41
  of
• 34:41
  those
• 34:41
  different,
• 34:42
  you
• 34:42
  know,
• 34:43
  Bob's
• 34:43
  out
• 34:43
  doing
• 34:43
  shrimp
• 34:44
  and
• 34:44
  menhaden
• 34:45
  and
• 34:45
  mullet
• 34:45
  and.
• 34:46
  Right.
• 34:47
  Anchovies
• 34:48
  and
• 34:48
  sardines.
• 34:49
  But
• 34:49
  they
• 34:50
  looked
• 34:50
  at
• 34:50
  their
• 34:50
  bait
• 34:51
  more
• 34:51
  than
• 34:52
  anybody
• 34:52
  else
• 34:53
  in
• 34:53
  their,
• 34:53
  you
• 34:54
  know,
• 34:54
  their
• 34:54
  fields.
• 34:55
  And
• 34:55
  then
• 34:55
  they
• 34:55
  figured
• 34:56
  out
• 34:56
  flies
• 34:56
  that
• 34:56
  did
• 34:57
  what
• 34:57
  the
• 34:57
  bait
• 34:57
  did.
• 34:59
  So
• 35:00
  I
• 35:00
  think
• 35:00
  that's
• 35:00
  the.
• 35:01
  The
• 35:01
  thing
• 35:01
  those
• 35:01
  two
• 35:01
  guys
• 35:02
  really
• 35:02
  excelled
• 35:03
  at.
• 35:04
  And
• 35:04
  what
• 35:05
  I
• 35:05
  like
• 35:05
  to
• 35:05
  do
• 35:05
  is
• 35:05
  just
• 35:05
  be
• 35:06
  able
• 35:06
  to
• 35:06
  bring
• 35:06
  that
• 35:06
  back
• 35:08
  to
• 35:08
  people
• 35:08
  nowadays
• 35:09
  and
• 35:09
  try
• 35:09
  to
• 35:09
  explain
• 35:09
  to
• 35:10
  them
• 35:10
  about
• 35:10
  why
• 35:10
  these
• 35:10
  flies
• 35:11
  are
• 35:11
  so
• 35:11
  good.
• 35:12
  You
• 35:12
  know,
• 35:12
  I.
• 35:13
  I
• 35:13
  send
• 35:13
  a
• 35:13
  lot
• 35:13
  of
• 35:14
  Semper
• 35:14
  Flis
• 35:14
  down
• 35:15
  or
• 35:15
  out
• 35:15
  to
• 35:15
  the
• 35:15
  Seychelles
• 35:16
  and
• 35:16
  down
• 35:16
  for
• 35:16
  Golden
• 35:17
  Dorado,
• 35:18
  you
• 35:18
  know,
• 35:19
  the
• 35:19
  Gold
• 35:19
  Dorado.
• 35:20
  It
• 35:20
  doesn't
• 35:20
  matter
• 35:20
  really
• 35:21
  what
• 35:21
  the
• 35:21
  fly
• 35:21
  is.
• 35:21
  You're
• 35:22
  only
• 35:22
  getting
• 35:22
  one
• 35:22
  or
• 35:22
  two
• 35:22
  fish
• 35:23
  per
• 35:23
  fly.
• 35:24
  But
• 35:24
  the
• 35:24
  Semper
• 35:25
  fly
• 35:25
  has
• 35:25
  such
• 35:25
  good
• 35:26
  action
• 35:26
  to
• 35:26
  it.
• 35:26
  It
• 35:26
  pushes
• 35:27
  water.
• 35:28
  You
• 35:28
  know,
• 35:29
  it's
• 35:30
  a
• 35:30
  really
• 35:30
  effective
• 35:31
  fly.
• 35:31
  And
• 35:31
  same
• 35:31
  with
• 35:32
  the
• 35:32
  Seychelles.
• 35:32
  It's.
• 35:33
  It's
• 35:33
  super
• 35:33
  effective
• 35:34
  over
• 35:34
  there.
• 35:34
  Um,
• 35:35
  a
• 35:36
  lot
• 35:36
  of
• 35:36
  the
• 35:36
  guides
• 35:36
  really,
• 35:37
  you
• 35:38
  know,
• 35:38
  they've
• 35:38
  started
• 35:39
  telling
• 35:39
  people
• 35:39
  to
• 35:40
  come
• 35:40
  with
• 35:40
  my
• 35:40
  Semper
• 35:41
  Flis,
• 35:41
  which
• 35:41
  is.
• 35:42
  That's
• 35:42
  a
• 35:42
  big
• 35:42
  honor
• 35:43
  over
• 35:43
  there.
• 35:43
  Cause
• 35:43
  they
• 35:43
  have
• 35:44
  a
• 35:44
  lot
• 35:44
  of
• 35:44
  choices
• 35:45
  for
• 35:45
  flies.
• 35:46
  So
• 35:47
  it's.
• 35:48
  Those
• 35:49
  are
• 35:50
  tough
• 35:50
  ones.
• 35:51
  Yeah,
• 35:51
  it's
• 35:52
  interesting.
• 35:52
  Cause
• 35:52
  I've
• 35:52
  always
• 35:53
  kind
• 35:53
  of
• 35:53
  thought
• 35:53
  that,
• 35:54
  like,
• 35:54
  you
• 35:54
  know,
• 35:54
  you
• 35:55
  can
• 35:55
  be
• 35:55
  a
• 35:55
  very,
• 35:56
  very
• 35:56
  competent
• 35:57
  fly
• 35:57
  tire
• 35:58
  if
• 35:58
  you
• 35:58
  don't
• 35:59
  fish
• 35:59
  a
• 35:59
  lot.
• 35:59
  But
• 35:59
  you
• 35:59
  can't
• 36:00
  design
• 36:00
  flies
• 36:00
  if
• 36:01
  you're.
• 36:01
  Not
• 36:01
  solving
• 36:01
  fishing
• 36:02
  problems
• 36:04
  100%
• 36:04
  correct.
• 36:05
  It.
• 36:06
  It's.
• 36:06
  And
• 36:07
  that's
• 36:07
  where
• 36:07
  I.
• 36:07
  I
• 36:07
  see
• 36:07
  a
• 36:08
  lot
• 36:08
  of
• 36:08
  people
• 36:08
  at
• 36:08
  Instagram
• 36:09
  and
• 36:09
  stuff,
• 36:09
  whatever.
• 36:09
  And
• 36:09
  they.
• 36:10
  They've
• 36:10
  created
• 36:10
  this
• 36:10
  new
• 36:10
  fly
• 36:11
  and
• 36:12
  they're
• 36:12
  just
• 36:12
  looking
• 36:12
  at
• 36:12
  go.
• 36:13
  But
• 36:13
  you
• 36:13
  took
• 36:14
  this
• 36:14
  fly
• 36:14
  and
• 36:14
  you
• 36:15
  made
• 36:15
  it
• 36:15
  harder
• 36:15
  to
• 36:15
  tie,
• 36:16
  or
• 36:16
  you
• 36:16
  took
• 36:17
  this
• 36:17
  fly
• 36:17
  and
• 36:17
  you
• 36:17
  added
• 36:17
  a
• 36:17
  tail
• 36:18
  that
• 36:18
  can
• 36:18
  foul
• 36:19
  now,
• 36:19
  whereas
• 36:19
  before
• 36:19
  the
• 36:20
  towel,
• 36:20
  the
• 36:20
  tail
• 36:20
  would
• 36:21
  Never
• 36:21
  have
• 36:21
  fouled
• 36:21
  or
• 36:22
  the
• 36:22
  crayfish
• 36:23
  claws
• 36:23
  wouldn't,
• 36:24
  you
• 36:24
  know,
• 36:24
  now
• 36:24
  they
• 36:24
  can
• 36:24
  foul
• 36:24
  and
• 36:25
  they
• 36:25
  wouldn't
• 36:25
  have
• 36:25
  before
• 36:26
  you.
• 36:27
  You're
• 36:27
  not
• 36:27
  making
• 36:28
  it
• 36:28
  better.
• 36:28
  Like
• 36:30
  it's,
• 36:30
  it
• 36:31
  is
• 36:31
  very
• 36:31
  frustrating
• 36:31
  to
• 36:32
  see
• 36:32
  it,
• 36:32
  but
• 36:33
  they
• 36:33
  look
• 36:33
  beautiful
• 36:34
  in
• 36:34
  the
• 36:34
  photo
• 36:35
  and
• 36:35
  they
• 36:35
  get
• 36:35
  a
• 36:36
  lot.
• 36:36
  Of
• 36:36
  likes
• 36:37
  but
• 36:38
  we
• 36:38
  won't
• 36:38
  go
• 36:38
  down
• 36:38
  that
• 36:38
  rabbit
• 36:39
  hole.
• 36:39
  But
• 36:39
  you
• 36:39
  know,
• 36:40
  the
• 36:40
  interesting
• 36:40
  thing
• 36:40
  is,
• 36:40
  you
• 36:40
  know,
• 36:41
  I
• 36:41
  know
• 36:41
  you
• 36:41
  have
• 36:41
  a
• 36:41
  tremendous
• 36:42
  affinity
• 36:42
  for
• 36:42
  classic
• 36:43
  patterns,
• 36:43
  but
• 36:44
  I'm
• 36:44
  always
• 36:44
  curious
• 36:44
  when
• 36:45
  I
• 36:45
  get
• 36:45
  the
• 36:45
  hardcore
• 36:46
  tires.
• 36:46
  You
• 36:46
  know,
• 36:46
  you
• 36:47
  must
• 36:47
  have
• 36:47
  some
• 36:47
  new
• 36:47
  tools
• 36:48
  or
• 36:48
  materials
• 36:48
  on
• 36:48
  your
• 36:49
  time
• 36:49
  bench
• 36:49
  you're
• 36:49
  playing
• 36:49
  with,
• 36:50
  right?
• 36:51
  Listen,
• 36:52
  I
• 36:52
  get
• 36:52
  them.
• 36:53
  They're,
• 36:53
  you
• 36:54
  know,
• 36:54
  sometimes
• 36:54
  they're
• 36:54
  given
• 36:55
  to
• 36:55
  me.
• 36:55
  A
• 36:55
  lot
• 36:55
  of
• 36:55
  the
• 36:55
  times
• 36:55
  they're,
• 36:56
  they're
• 36:56
  offered
• 36:57
  to
• 36:57
  me
• 36:57
  and
• 36:57
  you
• 36:58
  know,
• 37:00
  I'm
• 37:00
  one
• 37:00
  of
• 37:00
  the
• 37:00
  few
• 37:00
  people
• 37:01
  that
• 37:01
  unless
• 37:01
  I
• 37:02
  actually
• 37:02
  see
• 37:03
  a
• 37:03
  valid
• 37:04
  need
• 37:04
  for
• 37:04
  it,
• 37:05
  I
• 37:05
  turn
• 37:05
  things
• 37:05
  away
• 37:06
  a
• 37:06
  lot.
• 37:06
  I'm
• 37:07
  not
• 37:07
  going
• 37:07
  to
• 37:07
  just
• 37:07
  take
• 37:07
  something
• 37:08
  for
• 37:08
  free
• 37:08
  and,
• 37:09
  you
• 37:09
  know,
• 37:09
  put
• 37:09
  it
• 37:09
  in
• 37:10
  my
• 37:10
  tool
• 37:10
  caddy
• 37:10
  and
• 37:10
  never
• 37:10
  use
• 37:11
  it.
• 37:12
  That
• 37:12
  being
• 37:13
  said,
• 37:13
  I,
• 37:14
  I
• 37:14
  do
• 37:14
  have
• 37:14
  a
• 37:15
  few
• 37:15
  tools
• 37:15
  that
• 37:15
  I,
• 37:16
  I
• 37:16
  absolutely
• 37:17
  love
• 37:19
  and
• 37:19
  I
• 37:19
  don't
• 37:19
  know
• 37:19
  if
• 37:19
  they're
• 37:20
  going
• 37:20
  to
• 37:20
  be
• 37:20
  around
• 37:20
  much
• 37:20
  more
• 37:21
  anymore
• 37:22
  for
• 37:22
  all
• 37:22
  of
• 37:22
  my
• 37:23
  not
• 37:24
  big
• 37:24
  fly
• 37:24
  stuff.
• 37:25
  So
• 37:25
  basically
• 37:25
  anywhere
• 37:26
  I'm
• 37:26
  using
• 37:26
  140
• 37:26
  denier
• 37:27
  or
• 37:27
  less.
• 37:28
  I
• 37:28
  have
• 37:28
  a
• 37:28
  bunch
• 37:28
  of
• 37:29
  Mark
• 37:29
  Petitjean
• 37:29
  bobbins.
• 37:31
  They
• 37:31
  are
• 37:31
  so
• 37:31
  good.
• 37:33
  But
• 37:33
  I
• 37:33
  know
• 37:33
  that
• 37:34
  he's
• 37:34
  just
• 37:34
  recently
• 37:35
  sold
• 37:35
  the
• 37:35
  company
• 37:36
  and
• 37:36
  I
• 37:36
  don't
• 37:37
  know
• 37:37
  if
• 37:37
  they're
• 37:37
  going
• 37:37
  to
• 37:37
  make
• 37:38
  the
• 37:38
  bobbin
• 37:38
  the
• 37:38
  same
• 37:38
  or
• 37:39
  as
• 37:39
  good.
• 37:39
  You
• 37:39
  never
• 37:39
  know
• 37:40
  when
• 37:40
  there's
• 37:40
  a
• 37:40
  change
• 37:40
  like
• 37:41
  that.
• 37:42
  Um,
• 37:43
  and
• 37:44
  then,
• 37:44
  you
• 37:44
  know,
• 37:45
  the,
• 37:45
  the
• 37:45
  most
• 37:46
  recent
• 37:47
  thing
• 37:47
  that
• 37:47
  I've
• 37:47
  changed
• 37:48
  in
• 37:48
  my
• 37:48
  fly
• 37:48
  tying,
• 37:48
  it's
• 37:49
  been
• 37:49
  about
• 37:49
  three
• 37:50
  or
• 37:50
  four,
• 37:50
  four
• 37:51
  years
• 37:51
  maybe
• 37:51
  now
• 37:52
  are
• 37:52
  with
• 37:52
  my
• 37:53
  Renomed
• 37:53
  scissors.
• 37:55
  I
• 37:55
  used
• 37:55
  to,
• 37:56
  I've
• 37:56
  tried
• 37:56
  every
• 37:57
  brand
• 37:57
  of
• 37:57
  scissors
• 37:58
  I've
• 37:58
  ever.
• 37:59
  You
• 37:59
  could
• 37:59
  ever
• 38:00
  have
• 38:00
  heard
• 38:00
  of
• 38:00
  it.
• 38:00
  A
• 38:00
  whole
• 38:00
  bunch
• 38:00
  you've
• 38:01
  never
• 38:01
  heard
• 38:01
  of.
• 38:02
  Um,
• 38:02
  and
• 38:02
  prior
• 38:02
  to
• 38:03
  that,
• 38:03
  Chris
• 38:03
  Helm
• 38:03
  used
• 38:04
  to
• 38:04
  import
• 38:04
  a
• 38:04
  German
• 38:04
  scissor
• 38:05
  that
• 38:05
  I,
• 38:06
  I
• 38:06
  really
• 38:06
  liked
• 38:07
  and
• 38:07
  I
• 38:07
  bought
• 38:07
  the
• 38:07
  last
• 38:07
  seven
• 38:08
  that
• 38:08
  were
• 38:08
  in
• 38:08
  the
• 38:08
  US
• 38:09
  And
• 38:10
  I've
• 38:10
  still
• 38:10
  got
• 38:10
  four
• 38:11
  sitting
• 38:11
  in
• 38:11
  my
• 38:12
  Caddy.
• 38:12
  It
• 38:12
  looks
• 38:12
  like
• 38:12
  up
• 38:12
  there
• 38:16
  tho,
• 38:16
  those
• 38:16
  were
• 38:16
  the
• 38:17
  best
• 38:17
  scissors
• 38:17
  and
• 38:17
  I
• 38:17
  could
• 38:17
  get
• 38:18
  four
• 38:18
  months
• 38:18
  out
• 38:18
  of
• 38:18
  those
• 38:19
  when
• 38:19
  I
• 38:19
  was
• 38:19
  really
• 38:19
  tired
• 38:19
  when
• 38:20
  I,
• 38:20
  as
• 38:21
  you
• 38:21
  know,
• 38:21
  you
• 38:21
  said
• 38:21
  I,
• 38:21
  I
• 38:22
  commercial
• 38:22
  ties
• 38:22
  spend
• 38:23
  about
• 38:23
  60
• 38:23
  hours
• 38:23
  a
• 38:23
  week
• 38:23
  at
• 38:23
  the
• 38:24
  vice.
• 38:24
  So
• 38:25
  I
• 38:25
  was
• 38:25
  getting
• 38:25
  four
• 38:25
  months
• 38:25
  out
• 38:25
  of
• 38:26
  a
• 38:26
  pair
• 38:26
  of
• 38:26
  scissors.
• 38:26
  My
• 38:27
  reno
• 38:27
  meds
• 38:27
  I
• 38:27
  can
• 38:27
  get
• 38:28
  over
• 38:28
  a
• 38:29
  year
• 38:29
  out
• 38:29
  of
• 38:30
  and
• 38:30
  then
• 38:31
  on
• 38:31
  top
• 38:31
  of
• 38:31
  it
• 38:31
  they
• 38:31
  have
• 38:31
  a
• 38:32
  lifetime
• 38:32
  warranty.
• 38:33
  So
• 38:33
  if
• 38:33
  you
• 38:33
  get
• 38:34
  them
• 38:34
  to
• 38:34
  turn
• 38:34
  dull,
• 38:35
  which
• 38:35
  at
• 38:36
  my
• 38:36
  volume
• 38:36
  I
• 38:36
  do.
• 38:37
  But
• 38:37
  it
• 38:37
  takes
• 38:38
  me
• 38:38
  a
• 38:38
  year.
• 38:39
  The
• 38:39
  mail
• 38:39
  em
• 38:39
  back
• 38:39
  and
• 38:40
  then,
• 38:40
  you
• 38:41
  know,
• 38:41
  two
• 38:41
  or
• 38:41
  three
• 38:42
  weeks
• 38:42
  later
• 38:43
  there's
• 38:43
  a
• 38:43
  new
• 38:43
  pair
• 38:44
  in
• 38:44
  the
• 38:44
  mail.
• 38:44
  Like
• 38:45
  it's
• 38:45
  a
• 38:46
  great,
• 38:46
  it's
• 38:47
  a
• 38:47
  great
• 38:47
  scissor
• 38:47
  and
• 38:47
  it's
• 38:48
  a
• 38:48
  great
• 38:48
  deal
• 38:48
  as
• 38:49
  well.
• 38:50
  Those
• 38:50
  are
• 38:50
  some
• 38:50
  things
• 38:51
  that
• 38:51
  I,
• 38:52
  I
• 38:52
  couldn't
• 38:52
  live
• 38:53
  without.
• 38:55
  Then
• 38:56
  the
• 38:56
  other
• 38:56
  thing
• 38:56
  that,
• 38:57
  and
• 38:57
  I
• 38:57
  know
• 38:57
  it's
• 38:57
  not
• 38:58
  as
• 38:58
  much
• 38:58
  of
• 38:58
  a
• 38:58
  tool,
• 38:59
  but
• 38:59
  it's
• 39:00
  different
• 39:00
  adhesives.
• 39:01
  I
• 39:01
  have
• 39:01
  nine
• 39:01
  different
• 39:01
  adhesives
• 39:02
  on
• 39:02
  my
• 39:02
  desk
• 39:03
  and
• 39:03
  I
• 39:03
  used
• 39:04
  them
• 39:04
  all
• 39:04
  in
• 39:04
  different
• 39:05
  ways,
• 39:05
  different
• 39:05
  times.
• 39:08
  It's
• 39:08
  one
• 39:09
  of
• 39:09
  the
• 39:09
  things
• 39:09
  that
• 39:09
  I
• 39:09
  know
• 39:10
  Dave
• 39:11
  really
• 39:11
  taught
• 39:11
  me
• 39:11
  a
• 39:11
  lot
• 39:12
  about
• 39:12
  is
• 39:12
  how
• 39:13
  to,
• 39:13
  and
• 39:13
  where
• 39:13
  to
• 39:14
  reinforce
• 39:14
  flies
• 39:15
  to
• 39:16
  make
• 39:16
  them
• 39:16
  extremely
• 39:17
  durable.
• 39:18
  A
• 39:18
  lot
• 39:19
  of
• 39:19
  his
• 39:19
  flies,
• 39:19
  I
• 39:19
  was
• 39:19
  always
• 39:20
  confused
• 39:20
  when
• 39:21
  I,
• 39:21
  when
• 39:21
  I'd
• 39:21
  watch
• 39:21
  him
• 39:21
  tie
• 39:22
  it.
• 39:22
  I
• 39:22
  was
• 39:22
  like,
• 39:22
  wow,
• 39:22
  that
• 39:23
  doesn't
• 39:23
  look
• 39:23
  like
• 39:23
  it's
• 39:23
  going
• 39:23
  to
• 39:24
  be
• 39:24
  very
• 39:24
  durable.
• 39:26
  But
• 39:27
  it's
• 39:27
  the
• 39:27
  way
• 39:27
  he
• 39:27
  used
• 39:28
  the
• 39:28
  adhesives
• 39:29
  and
• 39:29
  where
• 39:29
  he
• 39:29
  used
• 39:29
  them
• 39:30
  and
• 39:30
  a
• 39:31
  few
• 39:31
  subtle
• 39:31
  things
• 39:31
  that
• 39:32
  he
• 39:32
  did
• 39:32
  while
• 39:32
  he
• 39:32
  was
• 39:32
  tying.
• 39:32
  Then
• 39:33
  all
• 39:33
  of
• 39:33
  a
• 39:33
  sudden
• 39:33
  you'd
• 39:33
  go
• 39:33
  fish
• 39:33
  it
• 39:34
  and
• 39:34
  you'd
• 39:35
  get
• 39:35
  a
• 39:35
  fly
• 39:35
  that
• 39:36
  you
• 39:36
  would
• 39:36
  look
• 39:36
  at
• 39:36
  and
• 39:36
  go,
• 39:37
  it's
• 39:37
  a,
• 39:37
  you
• 39:38
  know,
• 39:38
  the
• 39:38
  Near
• 39:38
  Nuff
• 39:38
  Sculpin
• 39:38
  is
• 39:39
  a
• 39:39
  good
• 39:39
  example.
• 39:39
  It's,
• 39:40
  it
• 39:40
  doesn't
• 39:40
  have
• 39:40
  a
• 39:41
  wire
• 39:41
  reinforcing
• 39:41
  that.
• 39:42
  The
• 39:42
  hackle
• 39:42
  rib,
• 39:44
  you
• 39:44
  would
• 39:44
  think
• 39:44
  that
• 39:44
  would,
• 39:45
  you
• 39:45
  know,
• 39:45
  fail
• 39:45
  after
• 39:45
  a
• 39:46
  couple
• 39:46
  of
• 39:46
  fish.
• 39:47
  I
• 39:47
  have,
• 39:47
  I
• 39:48
  can
• 39:48
  get
• 39:48
  like
• 39:48
  40
• 39:48
  or
• 39:48
  50
• 39:49
  smallmouth
• 39:50
  or,
• 39:50
  you
• 39:50
  know,
• 39:50
  40
• 39:50
  or
• 39:51
  50
• 39:51
  trout
• 39:51
  on
• 39:51
  that
• 39:51
  fly
• 39:52
  before
• 39:52
  I,
• 39:52
  you
• 39:53
  know,
• 39:53
  something
• 39:53
  gets
• 39:53
  in
• 39:53
  there
• 39:53
  and
• 39:54
  nicks
• 39:54
  that
• 39:54
  hackle
• 39:54
  quite
• 39:54
  often.
• 39:56
  That's
• 39:56
  a
• 39:56
  pretty
• 39:56
  good,
• 39:57
  you
• 39:57
  know,
• 39:57
  durability
• 39:58
  level
• 39:59
  for
• 39:59
  a
• 39:59
  fly
• 40:01
  because,
• 40:02
  you
• 40:02
  know,
• 40:02
  if
• 40:02
  you
• 40:02
  did
• 40:02
  a
• 40:02
  woolly
• 40:03
  bugger
• 40:03
  like
• 40:03
  that,
• 40:04
  that
• 40:04
  thing's
• 40:05
  gonna
• 40:05
  fail
• 40:05
  in,
• 40:05
  you
• 40:06
  know,
• 40:06
  five,
• 40:06
  six,
• 40:06
  seven
• 40:07
  fish
• 40:07
  quite
• 40:07
  often.
• 40:08
  So
• 40:09
  the
• 40:10
  adhesives
• 40:10
  are
• 40:10
  the
• 40:10
  other
• 40:11
  one.
• 40:11
  And,
• 40:11
  and
• 40:11
  the
• 40:12
  list
• 40:12
  of
• 40:12
  adhesives
• 40:13
  is,
• 40:13
  like
• 40:13
  I
• 40:13
  said,
• 40:13
  it's
• 40:14
  lengthy.
• 40:14
  There's
• 40:14
  nine.
• 40:15
  I
• 40:15
  do
• 40:15
  have
• 40:16
  heads,
• 40:16
  regular
• 40:16
  old
• 40:17
  fashioned
• 40:17
  head
• 40:17
  cement
• 40:18
  days,
• 40:18
  Flexament.
• 40:20
  I
• 40:20
  have
• 40:20
  two
• 40:21
  different
• 40:21
  viscosities
• 40:21
  of
• 40:22
  Zap
• 40:22
  a
• 40:22
  Gap.
• 40:22
  I
• 40:22
  have
• 40:22
  the,
• 40:23
  the
• 40:23
  brush
• 40:24
  on
• 40:24
  which
• 40:24
  is
• 40:24
  the
• 40:24

• 40:25
  plus
• 40:25
  I
• 40:26
  have
• 40:26
  the
• 40:26
  thin,
• 40:26
  which
• 40:26
  is
• 40:27
  the
• 40:27
  pink
• 40:27
  bottle.
• 40:29
  I
• 40:29
  do
• 40:29
  have
• 40:29
  Softex
• 40:30
  as
• 40:30
  well.
• 40:32
  And
• 40:32
  then
• 40:32
  I
• 40:32
  also
• 40:33
  have,
• 40:35
  you
• 40:35
  know,
• 40:35
  pick
• 40:35
  your
• 40:36
  brand
• 40:36
  of
• 40:36
  rubber
• 40:36
  cement,
• 40:37
  either
• 40:37
  E6000
• 40:38
  goop
• 40:38
  or
• 40:39
  Zap
• 40:39
  a
• 40:39
  goo.
• 40:39
  I
• 40:39
  use
• 40:40
  Zap
• 40:40
  a
• 40:40
  Goo
• 40:41
  and
• 40:41
  then
• 40:42
  I
• 40:42
  have
• 40:42
  my
• 40:42
  light
• 40:43
  cured
• 40:43
  resins
• 40:43
  that
• 40:43
  I
• 40:44
  like.
• 40:44
  You
• 40:44
  know,
• 40:44
  I
• 40:45
  use
• 40:45
  Tuffleye.
• 40:45
  But
• 40:46
  if
• 40:46
  you're
• 40:46
  a
• 40:46
  fan
• 40:46
  of
• 40:46
  RaidZap
• 40:47
  or
• 40:47
  Solarez
• 40:48
  or
• 40:49
  Gulf
• 40:49
  or
• 40:49
  whatever.
• 40:49
  They're.
• 40:50
  They
• 40:50
  all
• 40:50
  work
• 40:51
  pretty
• 40:51
  well
• 40:51
  for
• 40:52
  that.
• 40:53
  I
• 40:53
  don't
• 40:53
  use
• 40:53
  epoxy
• 40:54
  anymore.
• 40:54
  That's
• 40:55
  the
• 40:55
  one.
• 40:55
  I,
• 40:55
  I
• 40:55
  luckily
• 40:56
  have
• 40:56
  been
• 40:56
  able
• 40:57
  to
• 40:57
  kind
• 40:58
  of
• 40:58
  drop
• 40:59
  out
• 40:59
  of
• 40:59
  the.
• 41:01
  The
• 41:01
  desk,
• 41:02
  which
• 41:02
  is
• 41:02
  good,
• 41:03
  because
• 41:03
  that
• 41:03
  stuff
• 41:03
  smells
• 41:04
  bad.
• 41:05
  Yeah.
• 41:05
  You
• 41:06
  have
• 41:06
  any
• 41:06
  kind
• 41:06
  of.
• 41:06
  You
• 41:07
  have
• 41:07
  a
• 41:07
  squirrely
• 41:07
  tool
• 41:08
  that
• 41:08
  most
• 41:09
  people
• 41:09
  wouldn't
• 41:09
  expect
• 41:10
  you
• 41:11
  to
• 41:11
  have
• 41:11
  that
• 41:11
  you
• 41:11
  can't
• 41:12
  live
• 41:12
  without?
• 41:16
  Really?
• 41:16
  No.
• 41:16
  I
• 41:17
  mean,
• 41:18
  the
• 41:18
  only
• 41:18
  one
• 41:18
  that
• 41:18
  would
• 41:19
  be
• 41:19
  kind
• 41:19
  of
• 41:19
  that
• 41:19
  way
• 41:20
  would
• 41:20
  be
• 41:20
  Dave's
• 41:20
  bodkin.
• 41:21
  Like,
• 41:21
  he.
• 41:21
  He
• 41:22
  made
• 41:22
  his
• 41:22
  own
• 41:22
  bodkin,
• 41:23
  and
• 41:24
  he
• 41:24
  showed
• 41:24
  me
• 41:24
  how
• 41:24
  to
• 41:24
  make
• 41:24
  it,
• 41:24
  and
• 41:25
  it's
• 41:25
  just
• 41:25
  darn
• 41:25
  effective.
• 41:26
  It
• 41:26
  has
• 41:26
  a
• 41:26
  dubbing
• 41:26
  brush
• 41:26
  on
• 41:27
  the
• 41:27
  back.
• 41:27
  But
• 41:27
  no,
• 41:27
  I
• 41:27
  don't
• 41:28
  use
• 41:28
  a
• 41:28
  lot
• 41:28
  of
• 41:28
  tools.
• 41:28
  I
• 41:28
  use
• 41:29
  scissors
• 41:29
  and
• 41:29
  my
• 41:29
  fingers.
• 41:30
  You
• 41:30
  know,
• 41:30
  if
• 41:30
  I,
• 41:30
  If
• 41:31
  I
• 41:31
  whip
• 41:31
  finish,
• 41:31
  it's
• 41:31
  by
• 41:32
  hand.
• 41:32
  But
• 41:32
  I
• 41:33
  use
• 41:33
  Zappa
• 41:33
  Gap
• 41:33
  to.
• 41:34
  To
• 41:34
  do
• 41:34
  most
• 41:34
  of
• 41:34
  my
• 41:34
  heads
• 41:35
  now.
• 41:38
  I,
• 41:39
  I'm
• 41:39
  not
• 41:39
  a
• 41:39
  big
• 41:39
  tool
• 41:40
  person.
• 41:40
  I
• 41:40
  don't
• 41:41
  use
• 41:41
  them.
• 41:41
  You
• 41:41
  know,
• 41:42
  I
• 41:42
  have
• 41:43
  ballpoint
• 41:43
  pen
• 41:43
  casings
• 41:44
  that
• 41:44
  I
• 41:44
  use
• 41:44
  for
• 41:44
  hollow
• 41:45
  fleyes.
• 41:47
  And
• 41:47
  I,
• 41:47
  I,
• 41:47
  Whatever.
• 41:48
  You
• 41:48
  know,
• 41:48
  every
• 41:48
  time
• 41:49
  I
• 41:49
  go
• 41:49
  somewhere
• 41:49
  that
• 41:49
  has
• 41:50
  the
• 41:50
  right
• 41:50
  pen,
• 41:51
  I
• 41:51
  pick,
• 41:51
  you
• 41:52
  know,
• 41:52
  oh,
• 41:52
  can
• 41:52
  I
• 41:52
  have
• 41:52
  two
• 41:52
  or
• 41:52
  three
• 41:53
  of
• 41:53
  those?
• 41:54
  You
• 41:54
  know,
• 41:54
  whether
• 41:54
  it's
• 41:54
  a
• 41:54
  restaurant
• 41:55
  or
• 41:55
  whatever.
• 41:55
  Cause
• 41:55
  I
• 41:55
  break
• 41:56
  them
• 41:56
  all
• 41:56
  the
• 41:56
  time,
• 41:57
  you
• 41:57
  know,
• 41:57
  pushing
• 41:57
  on
• 41:58
  flies
• 41:58
  and
• 41:58
  stuff.
• 41:58
  So
• 42:00
  I'm
• 42:00
  not
• 42:01
  a
• 42:01
  big
• 42:01
  tool
• 42:01
  person.
• 42:03
  Got
• 42:04
  it.
• 42:04
  And,
• 42:04
  you
• 42:04
  know,
• 42:04
  can
• 42:05
  you
• 42:05
  maybe
• 42:05
  pick
• 42:05
  two
• 42:06
  or
• 42:06
  three
• 42:06
  tips
• 42:06
  you
• 42:06
  learned
• 42:07
  from,
• 42:07
  like,
• 42:07
  Dave
• 42:07
  or
• 42:08
  Lefty
• 42:08
  or
• 42:08
  Bob
• 42:09
  or
• 42:09
  Bobby
• 42:09
  that
• 42:09
  you
• 42:10
  could
• 42:10
  kind
• 42:10
  of
• 42:10
  share
• 42:10
  with
• 42:10
  us
• 42:11
  that,
• 42:11
  you
• 42:12
  know,
• 42:12
  folks
• 42:12
  may
• 42:12
  not
• 42:12
  have
• 42:13
  kind
• 42:13
  of
• 42:13
  thought
• 42:13
  of
• 42:13
  or
• 42:14
  heard
• 42:14
  about
• 42:14
  before?
• 42:16
  Sure.
• 42:18
  The.
• 42:18
  The
• 42:19
  first
• 42:19
  rule
• 42:19
  will
• 42:19
  be
• 42:19
  around
• 42:20
  adhesives.
• 42:22
  Learned
• 42:22
  this
• 42:22
  from
• 42:22
  Dave,
• 42:23
  and
• 42:23
  it
• 42:23
  was
• 42:24
  when
• 42:24
  you
• 42:24
  have
• 42:24
  a
• 42:24
  soft,
• 42:25
  flexible
• 42:25
  material,
• 42:26
  deer
• 42:26
  hair,
• 42:27
  something
• 42:27
  like
• 42:27
  that,
• 42:28
  you
• 42:28
  need
• 42:28
  a
• 42:28
  soft,
• 42:28
  flexible
• 42:29
  adhesive.
• 42:30
  So
• 42:31
  soft
• 42:31
  materials
• 42:32
  need
• 42:32
  a
• 42:32
  soft
• 42:32
  adhesive.
• 42:33
  If
• 42:33
  you
• 42:33
  have
• 42:33
  a.
• 42:34
  If
• 42:34
  you
• 42:34
  put
• 42:34
  a
• 42:35
  rigid,
• 42:35
  hard
• 42:35
  adhesive
• 42:36
  on
• 42:36
  there,
• 42:36
  I
• 42:36
  use
• 42:37
  Zap
• 42:37
  a
• 42:37
  Gap.
• 42:38
  All
• 42:38
  you
• 42:39
  do
• 42:39
  is
• 42:39
  give
• 42:39
  it
• 42:39
  a
• 42:39
  place
• 42:40
  for
• 42:40
  it
• 42:40
  to
• 42:40
  bend
• 42:40
  and
• 42:40
  crack.
• 42:42
  And
• 42:42
  it
• 42:42
  will.
• 42:43
  Might
• 42:43
  not
• 42:44
  be
• 42:44
  today.
• 42:44
  It
• 42:44
  might
• 42:44
  be
• 42:45
  after
• 42:45
  three
• 42:45
  or
• 42:45
  four
• 42:45
  fish,
• 42:46
  but
• 42:46
  that's
• 42:47
  where.
• 42:47
  Because
• 42:47
  it's
• 42:48
  not
• 42:48
  flexible,
• 42:48
  it
• 42:48
  will
• 42:49
  end
• 42:49
  up
• 42:49
  cracking
• 42:49
  there
• 42:49
  and
• 42:50
  falling
• 42:50
  off
• 42:50
  or
• 42:50
  breaking
• 42:51
  off.
• 42:52
  And
• 42:53
  where
• 42:54
  that
• 42:54
  conversation
• 42:54
  came
• 42:55
  from
• 42:55
  was
• 42:57
  we
• 42:57
  were
• 42:57
  doing
• 42:57
  a
• 42:57
  deer
• 42:58
  hair
• 42:58
  bug.
• 42:58
  I
• 42:58
  forget
• 42:58
  whether
• 42:59
  it
• 42:59
  was
• 42:59
  the
• 42:59
  hair
• 43:00
  bug
• 43:00
  or
• 43:00
  a
• 43:00
  diving
• 43:01
  bug.
• 43:02
  And
• 43:02
  we
• 43:02
  were,
• 43:02
  you
• 43:02
  know,
• 43:02
  putting
• 43:03
  the
• 43:03
  eyes
• 43:03
  in,
• 43:04
  and
• 43:04
  I
• 43:04
  was
• 43:04
  like,
• 43:04
  oh,
• 43:05
  what
• 43:05
  do
• 43:05
  you
• 43:05
  use?
• 43:06
  The
• 43:06
  zap
• 43:06
  gel
• 43:07
  or
• 43:07
  Zap?
• 43:07
  And
• 43:07
  he
• 43:07
  goes,
• 43:08
  nope,
• 43:08
  flexament.
• 43:09
  I'm
• 43:09
  like,
• 43:09
  what?
• 43:09
  Really?
• 43:10
  He's
• 43:11
  like,
• 43:11
  yeah,
• 43:11
  he
• 43:12
  pre.
• 43:12
  Treats
• 43:12
  the
• 43:13
  eye
• 43:13
  cavity
• 43:13
  with
• 43:13
  Flexament.
• 43:14
  Then
• 43:15
  he
• 43:15
  fills
• 43:15
  in
• 43:15
  the
• 43:15
  cavity
• 43:16
  with
• 43:16
  goop,
• 43:17
  puts
• 43:17
  another
• 43:17
  drop
• 43:18
  of
• 43:18
  flexament
• 43:18
  on
• 43:18
  top
• 43:18
  of
• 43:19
  that
• 43:19
  and
• 43:19
  puts
• 43:19
  the
• 43:19
  eye
• 43:19
  into
• 43:20
  that.
• 43:20
  He
• 43:20
  goes.
• 43:21
  What
• 43:21
  we've
• 43:21
  basically
• 43:21
  done
• 43:22
  is
• 43:22
  by
• 43:22
  pre
• 43:22
  treating
• 43:23
  the
• 43:23
  hair,
• 43:23
  we've
• 43:24
  given
• 43:24
  it
• 43:24
  something
• 43:25
  to,
• 43:26
  for
• 43:26
  the
• 43:26
  next
• 43:27
  level
• 43:27
  of
• 43:27
  adhesive
• 43:27
  to
• 43:28
  bond
• 43:28
  to
• 43:29
  cause
• 43:30
  flexament
• 43:30
  will
• 43:30
  bond
• 43:31
  to
• 43:31
  itself.
• 43:33
  And
• 43:33
  it
• 43:33
  just,
• 43:34
  I,
• 43:34
  I,
• 43:35
  I
• 43:35
  know
• 43:35
  I've
• 43:35
  gotten
• 43:36
  Jeff
• 43:37
  Rowley
• 43:37
  to
• 43:37
  do
• 43:37
  it
• 43:37
  and
• 43:38
  Joe
• 43:38
  Jackson
• 43:38
  to,
• 43:38
  to
• 43:39
  do
• 43:39
  it
• 43:39
  on
• 43:39
  their
• 43:39
  bugs.
• 43:40
  They're
• 43:41
  getting
• 43:41
  you
• 43:41
  know,
• 43:41
  60,
• 43:42
  70,
• 43:42
  80
• 43:42
  bass
• 43:43
  to
• 43:43
  their
• 43:43
  before

  their
• 43:44
  eyes
• 43:44
  start
• 43:44
  to
• 43:44
  fall
• 43:44
  out.
• 43:46
  It's
• 43:46
  just
• 43:46
  incredibly
• 43:47
  more
• 43:47
  durable.
• 43:48
  So
• 43:48
  that's
• 43:48
  one
• 43:48
  trick.
• 43:50
  The
• 43:51
  other
• 43:51
  one
• 43:51
  that
• 43:52
  I
• 43:52
  learned
• 43:52
  from
• 43:52
  Bob
• 43:53
  Clouser
• 43:53
  years
• 43:53
  ago
• 43:54
  is
• 43:55
  if
• 43:55
  you
• 43:56
  tie
• 43:56
  a
• 43:56
  Clouser
• 43:58
  fill
• 43:59
  in
• 43:59
  the
• 44:00
  thread
• 44:00
  wraps
• 44:01
  to
• 44:01
  the
• 44:01
  lead
• 44:01
  eyes
• 44:01
  with
• 44:02
  resin
• 44:02
  he
• 44:02
  used.
• 44:02
  You
• 44:03
  know,
• 44:03
  back
• 44:03
  in
• 44:03
  the
• 44:03
  day
• 44:03
  it
• 44:03
  was
• 44:04
  epoxy.
• 44:04
  Now
• 44:04
  we
• 44:04
  can
• 44:05
  use
• 44:05
  resin,
• 44:05
  but
• 44:06
  if
• 44:06
  you
• 44:06
  fill
• 44:06
  that
• 44:06
  in
• 44:07
  and
• 44:07
  create
• 44:07
  either
• 44:08
  a
• 44:08
  little
• 44:08
  triangle
• 44:08
  shape
• 44:09
  or
• 44:09
  a
• 44:09
  little
• 44:09
  heart
• 44:09
  shape
• 44:10
  to
• 44:10
  it,
• 44:11
  you
• 44:11
  have
• 44:11
  a
• 44:11
  fly
• 44:11
  that
• 44:12
  will
• 44:12
  slide
• 44:13
  through
• 44:13
  grass
• 44:14
  and
• 44:14
  sticks
• 44:14
  and
• 44:14
  stent,
• 44:15
  you
• 44:15
  know,
• 44:15
  twigs
• 44:16
  a
• 44:16
  lot
• 44:16
  better.
• 44:17
  And
• 44:17
  then
• 44:17
  if
• 44:17
  you
• 44:17
  had
• 44:17
  a
• 44:18
  weed
• 44:18
  guard
• 44:18
  like
• 44:18
  Dave
• 44:19
  always
• 44:19
  did,
• 44:20
  you
• 44:20
  can
• 44:21
  have
• 44:21
  a
• 44:21
  fly
• 44:21
  that's
• 44:22
  virtually
• 44:22
  weedless.
• 44:22
  Now
• 44:24
  there
• 44:25
  would
• 44:25
  be
• 44:25
  my
• 44:25
  two
• 44:25
  or
• 44:26
  three
• 44:26
  trips
• 44:26
  tips
• 44:26
  for
• 44:27
  someone.
• 44:28
  Got
• 44:29
  it.
• 44:29
  And
• 44:29
  so
• 44:29
  of
• 44:29
  course,
• 44:29
  you
• 44:30
  know,
• 44:30
  you
• 44:31
  know,
• 44:31
  if
• 44:31
  folks
• 44:31
  want
• 44:31
  to
• 44:31
  learn
• 44:31
  more
• 44:32
  about
• 44:32
  these
• 44:32
  patterns,
• 44:33
  not
• 44:33
  just
• 44:33
  Dave's
• 44:33
  but
• 44:34
  you
• 44:34
  know,
• 44:34
  Popovics
• 44:35
  and
• 44:35
  the
• 44:35
  others,
• 44:36
  you
• 44:36
  know,
• 44:36
  you
• 44:37
  spend
• 44:37
  a
• 44:37
  fair
• 44:37
  amount
• 44:38
  of
• 44:38
  the
• 44:38
  year
• 44:39
  either
• 44:39
  virtually
• 44:40
  or
• 44:41
  in
• 44:41
  person
• 44:41
  teaching.
• 44:42
  You
• 44:42
  want
• 44:42
  to
• 44:42
  kind
• 44:42
  of
• 44:42
  let
• 44:42
  folks
• 44:43
  know
• 44:43
  kind
• 44:43
  of
• 44:44
  places
• 44:44
  they
• 44:44
  might
• 44:44
  be
• 44:44
  able
• 44:44
  to
• 44:45
  catch
• 44:45
  up
• 44:45
  with
• 44:45
  you.
• 44:46
  Yeah.
• 44:47
  So
• 44:48
  listen,
• 44:48
  the
• 44:48
  next
• 44:48
  one
• 44:49
  I've
• 44:49
  got
• 44:49
  coming
• 44:49
  up
• 44:49
  at
• 44:50
  the,
• 44:51
  I
• 44:51
  think
• 44:51
  it's
• 44:51
  at
• 44:51
  the
• 44:52
  end
• 44:52
  of
• 44:52
  June
• 44:52
  here,
• 44:52
  beginning
• 44:53
  of
• 44:53
  July,
• 44:54
  I'll
• 44:54
  be
• 44:54
  on
• 44:55
  April.
• 44:55
  Vokey
• 44:56

• 44:56
  an
• 44:56

• 44:58

• 44:59

• 44:59
  times
• 44:59
  a
• 44:59
  year
• 44:59
  she
• 44:59
  has
• 45:00
  me
• 45:00

• 45:00

• 45:01
  for
• 45:02
  those
• 45:02
  group
• 45:02
  of
• 45:03
  folks.
• 45:04
  I'll

• 45:09
  of

• 45:09
  I
• 45:10
  think
• 45:10
  it's
• 45:10
  the
• 45:10
  weekend
• 45:10
  of
• 45:10

• 45:21
  January.
• 45:22
  Weekend
• 45:22
  after
• 45:23
  that
• 45:23
  there's
• 45:23
  a

• 45:26
  I'll
• 45:27
  be
• 45:27
  at
• 45:27
  that
• 45:29
  the
• 45:29

• 45:32
  at
• 45:32
  the
• 45:32
  end
• 45:33
  of
• 45:33
  January.
• 45:34
  I
• 45:34
  go
• 45:34
  to
• 45:34
  that
• 45:34
  one
• 45:35
  every
• 45:35
  year.
• 45:38
  I'm
• 45:38
  going
• 45:38
  to
• 45:38
  get
• 45:38
  the
• 45:39
  order
• 45:39
  wrong
• 45:39
  now,
• 45:39
  but
• 45:40
  I
• 45:40
  also
• 45:40
  do
• 45:40
  the
• 45:40
  Lancaster

• 45:42
  I'll
• 45:43
  be
• 45:43
  at
• 45:43
  Denver
• 45:44
  as
• 45:45
  well.
• 45:45
  And
• 45:45
  then
• 45:46
  I
• 45:46
  always
• 45:46
  do
• 45:46
  the
• 45:46
  Maryland

• 45:49
  as
• 45:49
  well.
• 45:50
  Just
• 45:50
  growing
• 45:51
  up
• 45:51
  in
• 45:51
  there,
• 45:52
  you
• 45:52
  know,
• 45:52
  it's
• 45:52
  kind
• 45:53
  of
• 45:53
  a
• 45:53
  hometown
• 45:53
  show.
• 45:55
  It's
• 45:55
  a
• 45:55
  very,
• 45:55
  it's
• 45:56
  a
• 45:56
  one
• 45:56
  day
• 45:56
  show
• 45:57
  in
• 45:57
  March.
• 45:58
  I
• 45:58
  also
• 45:59
  go
• 45:59
  to
• 45:59
  the
• 46:00
  Sowbug
• 46:00

• 46:00
  in
• 46:00

• 46:01

• 46:01
  Arkansas
• 46:01
  every
• 46:02
  year.
• 46:03
  And
• 46:03
  I
• 46:04
  also
• 46:04
  do
• 46:04
  the
• 46:06
  Gulf
• 46:06
  Coast
• 46:07
  Classic
• 46:08
  in
• 46:08
  Gulf
• 46:08
  Shores,
• 46:08
  Alabama.
• 46:10
  And
• 46:11
  there's
• 46:11
  probably
• 46:11
  another
• 46:12
  show
• 46:12
  or
• 46:12
  two
• 46:12
  that
• 46:12
  I
• 46:12
  do
• 46:13
  that
• 46:13
  I
• 46:13
  have
• 46:13
  forgotten
• 46:14
  about,
• 46:14
  but
• 46:15
  those
• 46:15
  are
• 46:15
  the
• 46:15
  main
• 46:15
  ones
• 46:16
  that
• 46:16
  I
• 46:16
  do
• 46:16
  every
• 46:16
  year.
• 46:17
  And
• 46:18
  I,
• 46:18
  you
• 46:18
  know,
• 46:19
  I
• 46:20
  sometimes
• 46:20
  teach
• 46:21
  classes
• 46:21
  down
• 46:21
  at
• 46:21
  Urban
• 46:22
  Angler
• 46:22
  here
• 46:22
  in
• 46:22
  Manhattan.
• 46:24
  And
• 46:25
  I've
• 46:25
  got
• 46:26
  a
• 46:26
  couple
• 46:26
  of
• 46:26
  other
• 46:26
  fly
• 46:27
  shops
• 46:27
  that
• 46:27
  have
• 46:27
  asked
• 46:27
  me
• 46:27
  to
• 46:28
  come
• 46:28
  out
• 46:28
  that
• 46:28
  were.
• 46:28
  I'm
• 46:29
  working
• 46:29
  on
• 46:29
  to
• 46:29
  see
• 46:30
  if
• 46:30
  we
• 46:30
  can
• 46:31
  find
• 46:31
  some
• 46:31
  time
• 46:31
  and
• 46:32
  it
• 46:33
  works
• 46:33
  out
• 46:33
  financially
• 46:33
  for
• 46:34
  everyone's.
• 46:34
  But
• 46:34
  I,
• 46:35
  I
• 46:35
  absolutely
• 46:36
  love
• 46:36
  teaching.
• 46:36
  That's.
• 46:37
  I
• 46:37
  would
• 46:37
  rather
• 46:37
  teach
• 46:38
  than
• 46:38
  tie
• 46:38
  a
• 46:38
  fly
• 46:39
  and
• 46:39
  try
• 46:39
  to
• 46:39
  sell
• 46:39
  it.
• 46:40
  But,
• 46:40
  you
• 46:41
  know,
• 46:41
  I
• 46:41
  gotta
• 46:41
  make
• 46:42
  money,
• 46:42
  which
• 46:42
  means
• 46:42
  I
• 46:42
  gotta
• 46:42
  sell
• 46:43
  flies.
• 46:43
  But
• 46:45
  the
• 46:45
  more
• 46:45
  teaching
• 46:46
  I
• 46:46
  do,
• 46:46
  the
• 46:46
  happier
• 46:46
  I
• 46:46
  am.
• 46:47
  And
• 46:47
  I,
• 46:47
  and
• 46:48
  I,
• 46:49
  I
• 46:49
  learned
• 46:49
  all
• 46:49
  of
• 46:49
  my
• 46:50
  teaching
• 46:50
  technique
• 46:50
  from
• 46:51
  a
• 46:51
  guy
• 46:51
  named
• 46:51
  Dennis
• 46:51
  Potter.
• 46:53
  He's
• 46:53
  a
• 46:54
  fly
• 46:55
  tire
• 46:55
  from
• 46:56
  New
• 46:56
  York.
• 46:57
  I
• 46:57
  think
• 46:57
  it's
• 46:57
  Traverse
• 46:57
  City,
• 46:58
  Michigan,
• 46:59
  Grand
• 46:59
  Rapids,
• 47:00
  Michigan.
• 47:01
  And
• 47:01
  he
• 47:02
  worked
• 47:02
  with
• 47:02
  Rusty
• 47:03
  Gates
• 47:03
  Ausable
• 47:04
  Lodge
• 47:04
  for
• 47:04
  years
• 47:04
  and
• 47:04
  years
• 47:05
  and
• 47:05
  years
• 47:05
  and
• 47:05
  had
• 47:05
  a
• 47:06
  private
• 47:06
  fly
• 47:06
  tying
• 47:07
  section
• 47:07
  where
• 47:08
  it
• 47:08
  was,
• 47:08
  you
• 47:08
  could
• 47:08
  go
• 47:08
  and
• 47:08
  you
• 47:09
  were
• 47:09
  buying
• 47:09
  flies
• 47:09
  that
• 47:09
  he
• 47:09
  had
• 47:10
  tied.
• 47:10
  But
• 47:11
  he
• 47:11
  did
• 47:12
  a
• 47:12
  couple
• 47:13
  hundred
• 47:13
  dozen
• 47:13
  every
• 47:14
  year
• 47:14
  for
• 47:14
  that
• 47:14
  shop.
• 47:15
  And
• 47:16
  I
• 47:16
  think
• 47:16
  he's
• 47:16
  an
• 47:16
  Umpqua
• 47:17
  Signature
• 47:17
  tire
• 47:17
  as
• 47:18
  well.
• 47:18
  But
• 47:18
  anyways,
• 47:19
  he,
• 47:19
  I
• 47:20
  took
• 47:20
  one
• 47:20
  of
• 47:20
  his
• 47:20
  fly
• 47:21
  tying
• 47:21
  classes
• 47:21
  in
• 47:22
  the,
• 47:23
  oh,
• 47:24
  maybe
• 47:24
  the
• 47:25
  mid-2000s.
• 47:27
  And
• 47:27
  it
• 47:27
  was
• 47:27
  a
• 47:27
  day
• 47:27
  and
• 47:27
  a
• 47:28
  half
• 47:28
  class.
• 47:30
  And
• 47:30
  at
• 47:30
  the
• 47:30
  beginning
• 47:30
  of
• 47:30
  the
• 47:31
  class
• 47:31
  he
• 47:31
  goes,
• 47:31
  all
• 47:31
  right,
• 47:31
  so
• 47:31
  we're
• 47:32
  gonna
• 47:32
  sit
• 47:32
  down,
• 47:32
  we're
• 47:32
  gonna
• 47:32
  tie
• 47:33
  for
• 47:33
  eight
• 47:33
  hours
• 47:33
  today
• 47:33
  and
• 47:33
  four
• 47:34
  hours
• 47:34
  tomorrow.
• 47:34
  And
• 47:34
  we're
• 47:34
  not
• 47:35
  gonna
• 47:35
  tie
• 47:35
  a
• 47:35
  single
• 47:35
  fly.
• 47:36
  It's
• 47:36
  just
• 47:37
  a
• 47:37
  techniques
• 47:37
  class.
• 47:39
  So
• 47:39
  he
• 47:39
  brought
• 47:39
  out
• 47:40
  the
• 47:40
  materials
• 47:40
  to
• 47:40
  do
• 47:40
  mayfly
• 47:41
  tails
• 47:41
  on
• 47:42
  dry
• 47:42
  flies.
• 47:42
  He
• 47:43
  said,
• 47:43
  all
• 47:43
  right,
• 47:43
  so
• 47:43
  this
• 47:43
  is
• 47:43
  how
• 47:44
  we're
• 47:44
  gonna
• 47:44
  do
• 47:44
  a
• 47:45
  split
• 47:45
  V
• 47:45
  tail.
• 47:46
  And
• 47:47
  just
• 47:47
  doing
• 47:47
  a
• 47:47
  figure
• 47:47
  eight
• 47:48
  wrap
• 47:48
  in
• 47:48
  the
• 47:48
  back.
• 47:48
  Now
• 47:49
  we're
• 47:49
  gonna
• 47:49
  do
• 47:49
  it
• 47:49
  and
• 47:49
  we're
• 47:49
  gonna
• 47:50
  put
• 47:50
  a
• 47:50
  dubbing
• 47:50
  ball
• 47:50
  instead
• 47:51
  and
• 47:51
  show
• 47:51
  you
• 47:51
  how
• 47:51
  to
• 47:51
  do
• 47:51
  it
• 47:51
  with
• 47:51
  a
• 47:52
  dubbing
• 47:52
  ball.
• 47:53
  And
• 47:53
  then
• 47:53
  we're
• 47:53
  going
• 47:53
  to
• 47:53
  show
• 47:53
  you
• 47:54
  how
• 47:54
  to
• 47:54
  do
• 47:55
  kind
• 47:55
  of
• 47:55
  like
• 47:55
  the
• 47:55
  fan
• 47:56
  tail.
• 47:57
  And
• 47:57
  then
• 47:57
  we're.
• 47:58
  And
• 47:58
  he
• 47:58
  just
• 47:58
  kept
• 47:58
  going
• 47:59
  through
• 47:59
  different.
• 48:00
  And
• 48:00
  each
• 48:01
  time
• 48:01
  it
• 48:01
  was.
• 48:01
  He.
• 48:02
  You
• 48:03
  watched
• 48:03
  him
• 48:03
  tie
• 48:03
  it,
• 48:05
  then
• 48:05
  you
• 48:05
  tied
• 48:06
  it,
• 48:06
  you
• 48:06
  tied
• 48:07
  one
• 48:07
  with
• 48:07
  him.
• 48:08
  And
• 48:08
  then
• 48:08
  as
• 48:09
  you
• 48:09
  were
• 48:09
  tying
• 48:09
  a
• 48:09
  second
• 48:09
  one
• 48:10
  on
• 48:10
  your
• 48:10
  own,
• 48:11
  he's
• 48:12
  getting
• 48:12
  the
• 48:12
  materials
• 48:12
  out
• 48:12
  for
• 48:12
  the
• 48:13
  next
• 48:13
  technique.
• 48:14
  So
• 48:14
  the
• 48:15
  class
• 48:15
  actually
• 48:15
  went
• 48:15
  pretty
• 48:16
  quick.
• 48:16
  Each
• 48:17
  technique
• 48:17
  was,
• 48:18
  you
• 48:18
  know,
• 48:18
  8,
• 48:19
  10,
• 48:19
  12
• 48:19
  minutes
• 48:20
  long
• 48:20
  if
• 48:20
  that.
• 48:20
  Some
• 48:20
  of
• 48:21
  them
• 48:21
  are
• 48:21
  much
• 48:21
  quicker.
• 48:22
  Right.
• 48:22
  But
• 48:23
  he
• 48:23
  sh,
• 48:23
  he
• 48:23
  showed
• 48:23
  us
• 48:23
  how
• 48:24
  to
• 48:24
  do
• 48:24
  a,
• 48:24
  you
• 48:25
  know,
• 48:25
  a
• 48:25
  fat
• 48:26
  catus
• 48:26
  dry
• 48:27
  fly
• 48:27
  body
• 48:27
  versus
• 48:28
  a
• 48:28
  thin
• 48:28
  mayfly
• 48:28
  body
• 48:29
  versus
• 48:29
  a,
• 48:29
  a
• 48:30
  wolf
• 48:30
  style
• 48:30
  body,
• 48:32
  you
• 48:32
  know,
• 48:32
  and
• 48:32
  how
• 48:32
  to
• 48:33
  fold
• 48:33
  the
• 48:33
  hair
• 48:33
  back
• 48:34
  under
• 48:34
  to
• 48:34
  build
• 48:35
  the
• 48:35
  bulk
• 48:35
  underneath
• 48:35
  the
• 48:36
  dubbing
• 48:36
  for
• 48:37
  a
• 48:37
  wolf.
• 48:37
  And
• 48:37
  just
• 48:38
  every,
• 48:39
  every
• 48:39
  single
• 48:39
  little
• 48:39
  technique
• 48:40
  you
• 48:40
  can
• 48:40
  imagine.
• 48:40
  And
• 48:41
  that's
• 48:41
  what
• 48:41
  I've
• 48:41
  taken
• 48:42
  to
• 48:42
  all
• 48:42
  of
• 48:42
  my
• 48:42
  classes
• 48:43
  now
• 48:43
  is
• 48:43
  I
• 48:44
  go
• 48:44
  through,
• 48:44
  we
• 48:44
  do
• 48:44
  one,
• 48:45
  you
• 48:45
  or
• 48:46
  I
• 48:46
  do
• 48:46
  one,
• 48:46
  you
• 48:46
  guys
• 48:47
  get
• 48:47
  to
• 48:47
  listen
• 48:47
  to
• 48:47
  the
• 48:48
  whole
• 48:48
  explanation
• 48:49
  of
• 48:49
  how
• 48:49
  and
• 48:49
  why
• 48:49
  we
• 48:49
  do
• 48:50
  it
• 48:50
  this
• 48:50
  way.
• 48:50
  Then
• 48:51
  we
• 48:51
  do
• 48:51
  one
• 48:51
  together
• 48:52
  step
• 48:52
  by
• 48:52
  step.
• 48:53
  Then
• 48:53
  you
• 48:53
  guys
• 48:54
  do
• 48:54
  one
• 48:55
  on
• 48:55
  your
• 48:55
  own
• 48:55
  and
• 48:56
  I'm
• 48:56
  there
• 48:56
  to
• 48:56
  ask
• 48:57
  questions
• 48:57
  and
• 48:57
  walk
• 48:57
  around.
• 48:58
  So
• 48:58
  it's,
• 48:58
  it
• 48:58
  works
• 48:59
  out
• 48:59
  very
• 48:59
  well.
• 49:00
  And
• 49:01
  I.
• 49:01
  He's
• 49:02
  on
• 49:02
  my
• 49:02
  mind
• 49:03
  right
• 49:03
  now.
• 49:03
  Cause
• 49:03
  I
• 49:03
  know
• 49:03
  he's
• 49:03
  going
• 49:04
  in
• 49:04
  for
• 49:04
  open
• 49:04
  heart
• 49:04
  surgery
• 49:05
  here
• 49:05
  in
• 49:06
  I
• 49:06
  think
• 49:06
  two
• 49:07
  weeks.
• 49:07
  So
• 49:07
  I'm,
• 49:08
  I'm
• 49:08
  wishing
• 49:09
  him
• 49:10
  the
• 49:10
  best
• 49:10
  of
• 49:10
  luck
• 49:10
  there.
• 49:11
  Yeah,
• 49:11
  absolutely.
• 49:12
  And
• 49:12
  I
• 49:12
  would
• 49:13
  imagine,
• 49:13
  just
• 49:13
  because
• 49:13
  I
• 49:14
  know
• 49:14
  you,
• 49:14
  Allen,
• 49:14
  that
• 49:15
  you
• 49:15
  probably
• 49:15
  have
• 49:15
  all
• 49:15
  the,
• 49:16
  all
• 49:16
  the
• 49:16
  shows
• 49:16
  and
• 49:17
  events
• 49:17
  on
• 49:17
  your
• 49:18
  website.
• 49:18
  Right.
• 49:19
  I
• 49:20
  had
• 49:20
  all
• 49:20
  of
• 49:20
  last
• 49:20
  year's.
• 49:21
  I
• 49:21
  haven't
• 49:21
  updated
• 49:21
  them
• 49:21
  for
• 49:22
  next
• 49:22
  year
• 49:22
  yet,
• 49:22
  but
• 49:23
  thanks
• 49:23
  for
• 49:23
  reminding
• 49:24
  me.
• 49:24
  I
• 49:24
  have
• 49:24
  to
• 49:24
  get
• 49:24
  on
• 49:24
  that.
• 49:25
  It's,
• 49:25
  it's
• 49:25
  early
• 49:26
  but
• 49:26
  I'll
• 49:26
  drop
• 49:26
  a
• 49:27
  link
• 49:27
  to
• 49:27
  that
• 49:27
  in
• 49:27
  the
• 49:27
  show
• 49:27
  notes.
• 49:28
  And
• 49:28
  so
• 49:28
  yeah,
• 49:29
  you
• 49:29
  know,
• 49:29
  if
• 49:29
  folks,
• 49:30
  you
• 49:31
  know,
• 49:31
  want
• 49:31
  to
• 49:31
  buy
• 49:31
  flies,
• 49:32
  what's
• 49:32
  the
• 49:33
  process
• 49:33
  for
• 49:33
  that?
• 49:33
  Where
• 49:34
  should
• 49:34
  they
• 49:34
  go?
• 49:34
  Lead
• 49:35
  time,
• 49:36
  all
• 49:36
  that
• 49:36
  kind
• 49:36
  of
• 49:36
  good
• 49:36
  stuff.
• 49:37
  Yeah,
• 49:38
  unfortunately
• 49:39
  right
• 49:39
  now
• 49:39
  my
• 49:39
  lead
• 49:39
  time's
• 49:40
  pushing
• 49:40
  six
• 49:40
  or
• 49:40
  seven
• 49:41
  weeks.
• 49:41
  It
• 49:41
  has
• 49:41
  consistently
• 49:42
  for
• 49:42
  a
• 49:42
  while.
• 49:44
  But
• 49:45
  the
• 49:45
  best
• 49:46
  way,
• 49:46
  if
• 49:46
  you're
• 49:47
  looking
• 49:47
  for
• 49:47
  anything
• 49:47
  custom,
• 49:48
  pick
• 49:48
  up
• 49:48
  the
• 49:49
  phone
• 49:49
  and
• 49:49
  give
• 49:49
  me
• 49:49
  a
• 49:49
  call.
• 49:49
  872-205-9211
• 49:52
  or
• 49:53
  drop
• 49:53
  me
• 49:53
  an
• 49:53
  email,
• 49:53
  which
• 49:54
  is
• 49:54
  Allen,
• 49:55
  which
• 49:55
  is
• 49:55
  allenn@flyonthewater.com.
• 49:58
  If
• 49:58
  you're
• 49:58
  just
• 49:58
  looking
• 49:58
  for
• 49:59
  kind
• 49:59
  of
• 49:59
  standard
• 49:59
  stuff,
• 50:00
  I
• 50:00
  have
• 50:00
  my
• 50:00
  Etsy
• 50:01
  store,
• 50:01
  which
• 50:01
  is
• 50:01
  flyonthewater.etsy.com
• 50:04
  you
• 50:04
  can
• 50:04
  also
• 50:04
  go
• 50:05
  to
• 50:05
  my
• 50:05
  website
• 50:05
  and
• 50:06
  link
• 50:06
  to
• 50:06
  it,
• 50:06
  which
• 50:06
  is
• 50:07
  flyonthewater.com
• 50:10
  those
• 50:10
  are
• 50:10
  the
• 50:10
  best
• 50:10
  ways
• 50:11
  to
• 50:11
  get,
• 50:11
  you
• 50:11
  know,
• 50:11
  most
• 50:12
  directly
• 50:12
  there.
• 50:12
  You
• 50:13
  can
• 50:13
  also
• 50:13
  go
• 50:13
  through
• 50:13
  my
• 50:13
  Instagram
• 50:14
  or
• 50:14
  my
• 50:15
  Facebook
• 50:15
  page.
• 50:15
  Facebook
• 50:16
  is
• 50:16
  bespoke
• 50:16
  flies.
• 50:17
  Instagram
• 50:18
  is
• 50:18
  flying
• 50:18
  on
• 50:18
  the
• 50:18
  underscore
• 50:19
  water.
• 50:21
  But
• 50:21
  that's,
• 50:22
  you
• 50:22
  know,
• 50:22
  if
• 50:23
  you're
• 50:23
  looking
• 50:23
  for
• 50:23
  customer,
• 50:24
  if
• 50:24
  you're
• 50:24
  going
• 50:24
  on
• 50:24
  a
• 50:25
  destination
• 50:25
  trip,
• 50:25
  if
• 50:26
  you're
• 50:26
  Going
• 50:26
  to,
• 50:27
  you
• 50:27
  know,
• 50:27
  Ascension
• 50:28
  Bay
• 50:28
  or
• 50:28
  the
• 50:28
  Bahamas
• 50:28
  or
• 50:29
  Argentina
• 50:30
  or
• 50:30
  the
• 50:30
  Amazon
• 50:31
  or
• 50:31
  New
• 50:31
  Zealand.
• 50:31
  Like,
• 50:32
  pick
• 50:32
  up
• 50:32
  the
• 50:32
  phone,
• 50:33
  call
• 50:33
  me,
• 50:33
  let's
• 50:33
  talk
• 50:33
  about
• 50:33
  it.
• 50:34
  Because
• 50:34
  time
• 50:34
  of
• 50:34
  year
• 50:34
  matters.
• 50:35
  Which
• 50:35
  system,
• 50:36
  what
• 50:36
  river,
• 50:37
  you
• 50:37
  know,
• 50:38
  what,
• 50:38
  all
• 50:38
  of
• 50:39
  that
• 50:39
  stuff
• 50:39
  can
• 50:39
  matter.
• 50:40
  So
• 50:41
  we
• 50:41
  make
• 50:41
  sure
• 50:41
  you
• 50:41
  get.
• 50:41
  Plus
• 50:42
  your
• 50:42
  casting
• 50:43
  ability.
• 50:44
  You
• 50:44
  know,
• 50:44
  I
• 50:44
  can,
• 50:45
  I
• 50:45
  can
• 50:45
  help
• 50:45
  out
• 50:45
  with
• 50:46
  that.
• 50:46
  You
• 50:47
  know,
• 50:47
  I
• 50:47
  can,
• 50:47
  I
• 50:47
  can
• 50:47
  tie
• 50:48
  flies
• 50:48
  with
• 50:49
  more
• 50:49
  weight
• 50:49
  or
• 50:49
  less
• 50:50
  weight
• 50:50
  to
• 50:50
  make
• 50:50
  it
• 50:50
  easier
• 50:51
  or
• 50:51
  more
• 50:51
  difficult
• 50:51
  to
• 50:52
  cast.
• 50:52
  Right.
• 50:53
  A
• 50:54
  lot
• 50:54
  more
• 50:54
  difficult.
• 50:54
  But
• 50:56
  you
• 50:56
  know,
• 50:57
  we
• 50:57
  can,
• 50:57
  we
• 50:57
  can
• 50:58
  adjust
• 50:58
  things
• 50:58
  to,
• 50:58
  to
• 50:59
  help
• 50:59
  you
• 50:59
  out
• 50:59
  in
• 50:59
  the
• 51:00
  situation.
• 51:01
  Got
• 51:01
  it.
• 51:02
  And
• 51:02
  before
• 51:02
  I
• 51:03
  let
• 51:03
  you
• 51:03
  go
• 51:03
  this
• 51:03
  evening,
• 51:03
  are
• 51:04
  you
• 51:04
  working
• 51:04
  on
• 51:04
  any
• 51:04
  projects
• 51:05
  or
• 51:05
  any
• 51:05
  other
• 51:05
  cool
• 51:05
  stuff
• 51:06
  you
• 51:06
  want
• 51:06
  to
• 51:06
  share
• 51:06
  with
• 51:06
  our
• 51:06
  listeners?
• 51:08
  No,
• 51:09
  just
• 51:09
  those
• 51:09
  classes
• 51:10
  this
• 51:10
  summer.
• 51:10
  I've
• 51:11
  got,
• 51:11
  like
• 51:12
  I
• 51:12
  said,
• 51:12
  I've
• 51:12
  got
• 51:12
  the
• 51:12
  April
• 51:13
  Vokey
• 51:13
  one
• 51:13
  coming
• 51:13
  up
• 51:14
  and
• 51:14
  then
• 51:14
  the
• 51:14
  one
• 51:14
  in
• 51:14
  tailwaters
• 51:15
  and
• 51:15
  I've
• 51:15
  got,
• 51:15
  I
• 51:16
  think
• 51:16
  three
• 51:16
  more.
• 51:17
  We're
• 51:18
  trying
• 51:18
  to
• 51:18
  figure
• 51:18
  out
• 51:18
  sometime
• 51:19
  in
• 51:19
  September
• 51:19
  and
• 51:20
  October
• 51:20
  for
• 51:20
  them.
• 51:23
  Those
• 51:23
  are
• 51:23
  the,
• 51:23
  those
• 51:24
  are
• 51:24
  the
• 51:24
  main,
• 51:24
  that's
• 51:25
  the
• 51:25
  main
• 51:25
  focus
• 51:25
  for
• 51:25
  the
• 51:26
  next
• 51:26
  couple
• 51:26
  of
• 51:26
  weeks.
• 51:26
  I've
• 51:26
  got
• 51:27
  a
• 51:27
  couple
• 51:27
  of
• 51:27
  magazine
• 51:27
  articles
• 51:28
  coming
• 51:28
  out
• 51:28
  this
• 51:28
  summer.
• 51:29
  I
• 51:29
  think
• 51:30
  the
• 51:30
  next
• 51:30
  one's
• 51:30
  coming
• 51:30
  out
• 51:31
  next
• 51:31
  week,
• 51:31
  but
• 51:31
  I'm
• 51:31
  not
• 51:31
  allowed
• 51:32
  to
• 51:32
  say
• 51:32
  anything
• 51:32
  about
• 51:33
  it
• 51:33
  yet
• 51:34
  until
• 51:34
  it's
• 51:34
  actually
• 51:34
  released.
• 51:35
  But
• 51:35
  I'm
• 51:35
  excited
• 51:35
  for
• 51:36
  it.
• 51:36
  Well,
• 51:36
  actually
• 51:37
  by
• 51:37
  the
• 51:37
  time
• 51:37
  this
• 51:37
  comes
• 51:37
  out,
• 51:38
  it'll
• 51:38
  be
• 51:38
  out.
• 51:39
  So
• 51:40
  I
• 51:40
  have
• 51:40
  a
• 51:40
  magazine
• 51:41
  article
• 51:41
  on
• 51:42
  swing
• 51:42
  nymphing,
• 51:43
  which
• 51:44
  is
• 51:44
  a
• 51:44
  technique
• 51:45
  I
• 51:45
  thought
• 51:45
  I
• 51:45
  developed,
• 51:46
  but
• 51:47
  it's
• 51:47
  actually
• 51:48
  something
• 51:48
  that
• 51:48
  Charlie
• 51:49
  Brooks
• 51:49
  developed
• 51:49
  back
• 51:50
  in
• 51:50
  like
• 51:50
  the
• 51:50
  40s
• 51:50
  for
• 51:51
  fishing
• 51:51
  on
• 51:51
  the
• 51:51
  Yellowstone.
• 51:54
  But
• 51:54
  it's
• 51:54
  a,
• 51:54
  it's
• 51:55
  a
• 51:55
  nymphing
• 51:55
  technique
• 51:55
  that
• 51:56
  I
• 51:57
  was
• 51:57
  just
• 51:57
  trying
• 51:57
  to
• 51:57
  copy
• 51:58
  what
• 51:58
  we
• 51:58
  did
• 51:58
  with
• 51:58
  spinning
• 51:59
  rods
• 51:59
  and
• 51:59
  light
• 51:59
  lead
• 52:00
  headed
• 52:00
  jigs
• 52:01
  and
• 52:01
  I
• 52:01
  was
• 52:02
  doing
• 52:02
  it
• 52:02
  with
• 52:02
  my
• 52:02
  fly
• 52:02
  rod.
• 52:03
  And
• 52:03
  then
• 52:03
  I
• 52:03
  found
• 52:04
  out
• 52:04
  from
• 52:04
  Harry
• 52:04
  Murray
• 52:05
  that
• 52:05
  he
• 52:06
  learned,
• 52:06
  you
• 52:06
  know,
• 52:06
  he'd
• 52:06
  been
• 52:07
  doing
• 52:07
  it
• 52:07
  and
• 52:07
  he
• 52:07
  learned
• 52:07
  from
• 52:08
  Charlie
• 52:08
  Brooks,
• 52:09
  so.
• 52:10
  But
• 52:10
  it's
• 52:10
  a,
• 52:10
  it's
• 52:10
  a
• 52:11
  very
• 52:11
  effective
• 52:11
  technique.
• 52:11
  I've
• 52:12
  got
• 52:12
  it
• 52:12
  coming
• 52:12
  out
• 52:12
  in
• 52:12
  Dark
• 52:13
  Skies
• 52:13
  Fly
• 52:13
  fishing
• 52:13
  magazine
• 52:14
  and
• 52:15
  I
• 52:15
  think
• 52:15
  it
• 52:15
  comes
• 52:15
  out
• 52:16
  Thursday.
• 52:17
  Yeah,
• 52:17
  very
• 52:17
  neat.
• 52:18
  It's
• 52:18
  kind
• 52:18
  of
• 52:18
  funny
• 52:18
  you
• 52:18
  say
• 52:18
  that
• 52:19
  because
• 52:19
  it
• 52:19
  reminds
• 52:20
  me
• 52:20
  of
• 52:20
  listening
• 52:21
  to
• 52:21
  Harry
• 52:21
  in
• 52:21
  one
• 52:22
  of
• 52:22
  his
• 52:22
  trout
• 52:22
  videos
• 52:22
  talking
• 52:23
  about,
• 52:23
  Talking
• 52:24
  about
• 52:24
  exactly
• 52:25
  that.
• 52:25
  Yeah.
• 52:26
  Oh,
• 52:26
  it's,
• 52:27
  he's
• 52:27
  been
• 52:27
  talking
• 52:27
  about
• 52:28
  it
• 52:28
  for,
• 52:28
  I
• 52:28
  don't
• 52:29
  know,
• 52:29
  40
• 52:29
  years.
• 52:30
  But
• 52:30
  I
• 52:30
  thought
• 52:30
  I,
• 52:31
  I
• 52:31
  figured
• 52:31
  it
• 52:31
  out
• 52:32
  because
• 52:32
  on
• 52:32
  my
• 52:33
  own
• 52:33
  when
• 52:33
  I
• 52:33
  was
• 52:33
  fishing
• 52:33
  the
• 52:33
  upper
• 52:34
  potomac
• 52:34
  As
• 52:34
  a
• 52:34
  15
• 52:35
  year
• 52:35
  old
• 52:35
  kid,
• 52:36
  because
• 52:36
  I
• 52:36
  just,
• 52:37
  I
• 52:37
  did
• 52:37
  the
• 52:37
  exact
• 52:38
  same
• 52:38
  thing
• 52:38
  I
• 52:38
  was
• 52:38
  doing
• 52:38
  with
• 52:39
  light
• 52:39
  lead
• 52:39
  headed
• 52:39
  jigs
• 52:40
  and
• 52:40
  soft
• 52:40
  plastics
• 52:41
  with
• 52:41
  my
• 52:41
  flies
• 52:42
  was
• 52:43
  crushing
• 52:43
  fish.
• 52:44
  And
• 52:44
  I
• 52:45
  thought
• 52:45
  I,
• 52:45
  you
• 52:45
  know,
• 52:45
  I
• 52:46
  thought
• 52:46
  I
• 52:46
  was
• 52:46
  this
• 52:46
  great
• 52:46
  inventor
• 52:47
  of
• 52:47
  technique.
• 52:48
  And
• 52:48
  it
• 52:48
  wasn't
• 52:49
  until
• 52:49
  10
• 52:49
  years
• 52:49
  later
• 52:50
  that
• 52:50
  I.
• 52:50
  It
• 52:51
  was
• 52:51
  actually
• 52:51
  when
• 52:51
  I
• 52:51
  got
• 52:52
  Harry
• 52:52
  Murray's
• 52:52
  book,
• 52:54
  Fly
• 52:54
  Fishing
• 52:54
  for
• 52:54
  Smallmouth
• 52:55
  Bass,
• 52:55
  he
• 52:55
  had
• 52:55
  a
• 52:55
  whole
• 52:56
  chapter
• 52:56
  on
• 52:56
  it.
• 52:56
  I
• 52:56
  was
• 52:56
  like,
• 52:57
  this
• 52:57
  is
• 52:57
  what
• 52:57
  I've
• 52:57
  been
• 52:57
  doing.
• 53:00
  So,
• 53:02
  yeah,
• 53:04
  I
• 53:04
  thought
• 53:04
  I
• 53:04
  had
• 53:04
  invented
• 53:05
  something,
• 53:05
  and
• 53:05
  I
• 53:05
  hadn't.
• 53:06
  Yeah,
• 53:06
  I'll.
• 53:07
  I'll
• 53:07
  leave
• 53:07
  you
• 53:07
  with
• 53:07
  your
• 53:08
  disappointment
• 53:08
  on
• 53:08
  that
• 53:08
  one.
• 53:09
  But
• 53:10
  the.
• 53:10
  Is
• 53:11
  there
• 53:11
  anything
• 53:11
  else
• 53:11
  you
• 53:11
  want
• 53:11
  to
• 53:11
  share
• 53:11
  with
• 53:12
  our
• 53:12
  listeners
• 53:12
  before
• 53:12
  I
• 53:12
  let
• 53:12
  you
• 53:13
  hop
• 53:13
  this
• 53:13
  evening?
• 53:14
  No,
• 53:14
  just
• 53:15
  thank
• 53:15
  you
• 53:15
  for
• 53:15
  having
• 53:15
  me
• 53:15
  on.
• 53:15
  It's
• 53:16
  been
• 53:16
  really
• 53:16
  fun.
• 53:16
  Yeah,
• 53:17
  absolutely.
• 53:17
  And
• 53:18
  also,
• 53:18
  too,
• 53:18
  I
• 53:18
  know
• 53:18
  you.
• 53:19
  You
• 53:19
  gave
• 53:19
  it
• 53:19
  to
• 53:19
  us
• 53:19
  a
• 53:19
  few
• 53:20
  minutes
• 53:20
  ago,
• 53:20
  but
• 53:20
  I
• 53:21
  assume
• 53:21
  Instagram
• 53:21
  is
• 53:22
  probably
• 53:22
  your
• 53:22
  favorite
• 53:22
  flavor
• 53:23
  of
• 53:23
  social,
• 53:23
  right?
• 53:25
  Sure.
• 53:25
  Fly
• 53:25
  on
