- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, Ron Verb on News Radio 570 WKBN. Why, it's
- 0:06Speaker 1: a lovely day to say the least. Welcome to Thursday,
- 0:09Speaker 1: July 30th.
- 0:10Speaker 2: One more day. It's the end of July. Already we'll
- 0:12Speaker 2: be into August. And before long, the Canfield Fair will
- 0:15Speaker 2: be here. And then after that, it's all downhill. Fall
- 0:19Speaker 2: is officially here, at least in our neck of the woods,
- 0:21Speaker 2: once the fair comes to a conclusion at the end
- 0:24Speaker 2: of August.
- 0:25Speaker 3: All right.
- 0:26Speaker 2: But anyway, we are nearing the final day of the
- 0:29Speaker 2: month of July. 82 degrees. Sun is shining. It's a
- 0:32Speaker 2: lovely day in our neck of the woods. Just a
- 0:34Speaker 2: programming note. I will be on. Well, I'm going to
- 0:38Speaker 2: take tomorrow off. I'm going to take a day off
- 0:40Speaker 2: on Friday and I'm going to take Monday off as well.
- 0:43Speaker 2: We'll return to the broadcast on Tuesday, August 4th.
- 0:46Speaker 3: All right?
- 0:47Speaker 2: So we'll be off tomorrow, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, obviously, and Monday.
- 0:51Speaker 2: So there you go. And returning on Tuesday, August 4th,
- 0:55Speaker 2: just as a programming note so you know what's going on.
- 0:58Speaker 2: All right? Just to keep you in the loop. Sometimes
- 1:02Speaker 2: your fearless leader needs to recharge your batteries, as they say,
- 1:05Speaker 2: and take a break once in a while.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:08Speaker 2: You're okay with that, right?
- 1:09Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Absolutely. All right, so let's see what awaits me here.
- 1:13Speaker 2: We have The Legal Show at 5 today, being Thursday.
- 1:17Speaker 2: John Arnold at 6. And you're on the air.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Hello. Ron, good afternoon, sir.
- 1:24Speaker 6: How are you?
- 1:24Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, it's Rich the Pharmacist. I'm well, Rich.
- 1:28Speaker 2: What's on your mind today?
- 1:30Speaker 3: Well, I had to work yesterday. I worked a 12-hour
- 1:32Speaker 3: shift yesterday. So this morning when I get up and
- 1:34Speaker 3: I read the news, I put on your podcast, which
- 1:36Speaker 3: incidentally is a fantastic way. If you can't listen during
- 1:40Speaker 3: your program, the podcast is outstanding. And the best part
- 1:44Speaker 3: about it is, in my opinion, there's a little button
- 1:47Speaker 3: that lets you fast-forward at 30-second intervals. So when, like,
- 1:52Speaker 3: Frankie and I semi-gets on or JJ gets on, I
- 1:54Speaker 3: just keep hitting the 30-second button until they're gone.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Well, now... You know, that's not nice. All right.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Well, it's true, though. I mean, you know, there's people
- 2:05Speaker 3: I want to listen to and people I don't want
- 2:07Speaker 3: to listen to. You know, if there's somebody I don't like,
- 2:09Speaker 3: people don't like me.
- 2:10Speaker 2: But there's always a 30-second button, so I'm gone. Well,
- 2:13Speaker 2: there had to be callers you liked, too, I hope, yesterday.
- 2:16Speaker 7: Oh, absolutely.
- 2:18Speaker 3: And two of them starting— the first hour was good. The
- 2:21Speaker 3: second hour, the 4 o'clock hour, was outstanding because— You
- 2:25Speaker 3: had the boss lady on, and you had Denise, the
- 2:28Speaker 3: lady that's collecting all the signatures to get the property
- 2:32Speaker 3: tax repeal. And one of them had told me they
- 2:37Speaker 3: sent me the Poland Township trustee video, which I think
- 2:40Speaker 3: I forwarded to you.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:42Speaker 3: And if you start listening to that, how disturbing and
- 2:47Speaker 3: angry do you start getting at the fact that these
- 2:51Speaker 3: morons are running this township into the ground? I mean,
- 2:56Speaker 3: I don't understand how you can be like, Eric, I'm here.
- 2:59Speaker 3: It's been there, what, 12 years or something like that?
- 3:02Speaker 3: He's been there a long time. How do you let
- 3:04Speaker 3: the township get into the fiscal condition it's in where
- 3:07Speaker 3: you're not going to be able to make payroll the
- 3:08Speaker 3: first week of August, most likely? Right. But you went
- 3:13Speaker 3: out and bought a $ 75, 000 brand-new Chevy Tahoe, which you
- 3:16Speaker 3: then couldn't afford to equip, so now you've got to
- 3:19Speaker 3: sell it. I mean, it just gets me. It blows
- 3:23Speaker 3: my mind. how poorly run many of these places are. Now,
- 3:29Speaker 3: that said, you know, I go to my, and this
- 3:32Speaker 3: is why, in all honesty, if people in this audience
- 3:36Speaker 3: do nothing else, at least once or twice a year,
- 3:39Speaker 3: if you live in a township, go to your trustees meetings,
- 3:41Speaker 3: go to a school board meeting, go to a village
- 3:44Speaker 3: or city council meeting, or go on their website and
- 3:48Speaker 3: find out what's going on. Now, one of the things
- 3:51Speaker 3: that's bothering me is the Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities,
- 3:57Speaker 3: or basically Leonard Kurtz, and they take care of the
- 4:00Speaker 3: people that are mentally challenged, physically handicapped, things like that,
- 4:04Speaker 3: which I think.
- 4:05Speaker 7: All of us..
- 4:06Speaker 3: Would agree. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a
- 4:09Speaker 3: heartless soul in your listening audience that doesn't think that
- 4:12Speaker 3: as healthy, productive citizens, we have a duty to take
- 4:17Speaker 3: care of those less fortunate than us. Correct?
- 4:19Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:21Speaker 3: But you go onto their website. I've never been on
- 4:24Speaker 3: their website. So this morning, I'm messing around, and I
- 4:26Speaker 3: go on their website, and I start fooling around. And
- 4:29Speaker 3: they have something, it's a one, two, three, it's the
- 4:32Speaker 3: fourth item over on the head mask, the head part
- 4:36Speaker 3: of their website. It says supplemental trust services. And this
- 4:41Speaker 3: is something that they provide. It's a trust that has money,
- 4:44Speaker 3: that had money. Now, it says right when you click
- 4:47Speaker 3: on that, please note funds have been exhausted and this
- 4:50Speaker 3: program is paused until, if and until more funds are
- 4:53Speaker 3: made available. And can I read you some of the
- 4:57Speaker 3: criteria and some of the supplemental services that this fund
- 5:02Speaker 3: provides for? Because I think people, before you just go
- 5:07Speaker 3: and say, oh, you know, these are unfortunate people. We
- 5:10Speaker 3: really need to just, because I think everybody when it
- 5:12Speaker 3: comes to these levies just says yes. Oh, it's for
- 5:15Speaker 3: the disabled. It's for, you know, bleeding heart. Just check yes.
- 5:21Speaker 3: This fund is actually set up by the Ohio Revised Code,
- 5:25Speaker 3: Section 5815.28, which I have not gotten to yet. I
- 5:28Speaker 3: haven't had a chance to go to the ORC and
- 5:30Speaker 3: look that law up yet, but I plan to. But
- 5:33Speaker 3: this money, it says supplemental services which meet the criteria
- 5:37Speaker 3: outlined above may include but are not limited to, one,
- 5:41Speaker 3: reimbursement for attendance or participation in recreational or cultural events. Two,
- 5:46Speaker 3: travel and vacations. Three, participation in hobbies, sports, or other activities.
- 5:51Speaker 3: For items beyond necessary, food and clothing. Example, funds for
- 5:55Speaker 3: dining out occasionally, for special foods periodically delivered, or for
- 5:59Speaker 3: an article of clothing such as a coat which is
- 6:00Speaker 3: a quote extra, but which is desirable because it is
- 6:04Speaker 3: newer or more stylish. Cosmetic, extraordinary, experimental, or elective medical
- 6:09Speaker 3: or dental care. Visiting with friends or family. Exercise equipment
- 6:13Speaker 3: or special medical equipment. The difference in rent between a
- 6:16Speaker 3: shared bedroom and a private bedroom. equipment or services for
- 6:21Speaker 3: the individual's private use, such as telephones, smartphones, cable television, televisions, radios, cameras, computers,
- 6:27Speaker 3: computer software, internet service, video recorders, and video games. Membership
- 6:31Speaker 3: in clubs or other organizations, such as book clubs, health clubs,
- 6:34Speaker 3: community organizations.
- 6:36Speaker 8: It goes on.
- 6:37Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not going to take up time to
- 6:38Speaker 3: read all of them. There's 23 items. The 23 is
- 6:41Speaker 3: the last thing it says it pays for. This is wonderful.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Other expenditures used to provide dignity, purpose, optimism, and joy
- 6:50Speaker 3: to the beneficiary of a supplemental services trust. Sign me up.
- 6:59Speaker 3: How do I become eligible so that I can get this?
- 7:03Speaker 3: Because this is all stuff that the people in your
- 7:06Speaker 3: audience are paying taxes for To go out and provide,
- 7:09Speaker 3: and none of this is required, in my opinion. You
- 7:13Speaker 3: disagree with me.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Now, who's the beneficiary of this stuff?
- 7:18Speaker 3: The beneficiary would be, I guess, the disabled person and
- 7:21Speaker 3: or their family.
- 7:22Speaker 2: All right, and they are entitled, not entitled, they can
- 7:26Speaker 2: get all of this stuff paid for by someone else.
- 7:30Speaker 2: All right, and now is that tax dollars or is
- 7:32Speaker 2: that money that was set aside by someone else?
- 7:37Speaker 3: It doesn't say that this is like donations, like, you know,
- 7:41Speaker 3: Ron and Rich decide that we were going to write
- 7:43Speaker 3: a check for $ 100 to them so that they can
- 7:46Speaker 3: do this stuff. I would assume, I mean, and I
- 7:48Speaker 3: don't know this for a fact, but I would assume
- 7:50Speaker 3: that somehow our tax money, whether it's federal, state, local, whatever,
- 7:54Speaker 3: you know, it's all our money in the end. But
- 7:57Speaker 3: somehow tax money is getting used to fund this. And
- 8:02Speaker 3: I don't mind. Like I've said, I 100% support helping
- 8:08Speaker 3: these people so that they can have some type of
- 8:10Speaker 3: a dignified life. But where do you draw the line
- 8:14Speaker 3: on this? This is why these NGOs are getting so big,
- 8:20Speaker 3: and this is why so many people... If you talk
- 8:22Speaker 3: to any teacher in the last 20.
- 8:24Speaker 7: Probably more than 20 years..
- 8:29Speaker 3: The increase in the number of students who are getting
- 8:33Speaker 3: what they call identified so that they can get supplemental
- 8:39Speaker 3: services is just astronomical. Everybody's trying to get their kid.
- 8:44Speaker 3: It's called an individual education plan, an education, an IEP.
- 8:48Speaker 3: And the number of kids that are getting identified, you know,
- 8:51Speaker 3: that go out to one of my other favorite organizations,
- 8:54Speaker 3: Mahoney County Educational Service Center, That's the other organization, another
- 8:58Speaker 3: county organization that just spends untold amount of our money
- 9:03Speaker 3: on a lot of things that, in my opinion, are
- 9:05Speaker 3: just nonsense. A lot of the stuff that is supposedly
- 9:08Speaker 3: educational is just ridiculous. And people in your audience need
- 9:13Speaker 3: to start going out and looking at some of these
- 9:16Speaker 3: organizations that your tax money is flowing into. Because I
- 9:22Speaker 3: went on Meacham's site today, and I looked. My property
- 9:27Speaker 3: value went from $ 411 to $ 491. It was a 20% increase,
- 9:31Speaker 3: which means thank you, Dave Thomas. I'm not going to
- 9:34Speaker 3: see that 20% increase on the main side millage. I'm
- 9:36Speaker 3: going to get whatever the inflation rate was last year.
- 9:39Speaker 3: They'll be allowed to collect, and hopefully I can convince
- 9:42Speaker 3: my trustees and my school board not to take it.
- 9:46Speaker 3: The chance I'm going to get the county... you know,
- 9:48Speaker 3: Gino and the other two commissioners to say they're not
- 9:51Speaker 3: going to take the increase inside millage, good luck with that. Because,
- 9:55Speaker 3: you know, none of these organizations ever have enough of
- 9:58Speaker 3: your money.
- 9:59Speaker 8: Right.
- 10:00Speaker 3: But I started looking at this, and I'm just like,
- 10:03Speaker 3: you know, and I believe somebody said on your program
- 10:07Speaker 3: that this particular organization went from, what, roughly a $ 60
- 10:11Speaker 3: million a year budget to now needing $ 100 million a year? Right.
- 10:15Speaker 8: Right.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Well, when you look at this supplemental trust service, it's
- 10:20Speaker 3: no wonder. You're buying cell phones and televisions and TV
- 10:25Speaker 3: subscriptions and coats. I mean, I'm sorry. At what point
- 10:30Speaker 3: do we as a taxpayer get to share in some
- 10:34Speaker 3: of the same services that these people get? Because you're
- 10:39Speaker 3: providing them with stuff that are, you know, are luxuries
- 10:43Speaker 3: for a lot of us vacations. I mean, at what
- 10:46Speaker 3: point do you, do you pay for a travel or
- 10:49Speaker 3: vacation for somebody that's getting public assistance? I just don't
- 10:56Speaker 3: understand it. And the more that I dig into government
- 10:58Speaker 3: and like I've told you, if this is how bad
- 11:01Speaker 3: you're getting screwed by these organizations at the local level,
- 11:07Speaker 3: can you imagine going down to Columbus and, Go down
- 11:09Speaker 3: to Washington, D.C. I can't even fathom it. It's why
- 11:12Speaker 3: we are $ 40 trillion and climbing in debt.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Well, we saw some of it with Elon Musk in
- 11:17Speaker 2: that Doge program, but they ran him out of town
- 11:20Speaker 2: and they stopped that, obviously.
- 11:22Speaker 3: And that's the problem. I think, like, G2, your program
- 11:25Speaker 3: yesterday was outstanding, by the way. It was, I mean,
- 11:28Speaker 3: it was between... Boss Lady, Denise, G2, and I think
- 11:35Speaker 3: it was G2 that said something like, it was talking
- 11:39Speaker 3: about the growth of these programs, but if you go
- 11:41Speaker 3: after them, if you're somebody like us that says, hey,
- 11:44Speaker 3: why are we paying for vacations? Why are we using
- 11:46Speaker 3: taxpayer money to provide vacations to people? All of a sudden,
- 11:51Speaker 3: or if you're going after, we need to cut jobs.
- 11:55Speaker 3: This place is fat. The payroll here is way, way
- 11:57Speaker 3: out of line. We need to cut jobs. You become
- 12:00Speaker 3: enemy number one. And I can tell you that because
- 12:03Speaker 3: go to a school board meeting and start saying you
- 12:04Speaker 3: have too many employees. You will be called everything but
- 12:07Speaker 3: a responsible citizen. And they will come after you because
- 12:11Speaker 3: I've done it. Believe me. They will come after you,
- 12:14Speaker 3: and they will come.
- 12:15Speaker 9: After your family.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Right. Here's the reality. There's no end in sight to this.
- 12:19Speaker 2: That's why I say they will not be happy until
- 12:21Speaker 2: they have all of your money. I mean, until they
- 12:24Speaker 2: have all of your money, it will never be enough.
- 12:26Speaker 2: So your only answer, and I do mean your only answer,
- 12:29Speaker 2: is sign those petitions that Denise has out there. Get
- 12:32Speaker 2: that constitutional amendment on the ballots to do away with
- 12:35Speaker 2: property taxes. Because if you don't, You will be priced
- 12:40Speaker 2: out of your home. It's just a matter of time.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Whether as you get older and retire, you'll be priced
- 12:46Speaker 2: out of it, or you'll be priced out of it
- 12:47Speaker 2: during your working years when the taxes continue to go
- 12:50Speaker 2: up beyond the rate of inflation, and you'll be priced
- 12:54Speaker 2: out of it. I'm just telling you right now, pay
- 12:57Speaker 2: attention to this stuff. The more money they get, the
- 13:00Speaker 2: more they spend, the more they grow. You don't hear
- 13:03Speaker 2: about cuts. You don't hear about turning it down. You
- 13:06Speaker 2: don't hear the DeSantis mentality in Florida. We're spending less
- 13:09Speaker 2: this year than we did last year. And we spent
- 13:11Speaker 2: less last year than we did the year before that.
- 13:14Speaker 2: You don't hear that mentality here in Mahoning County. You
- 13:17Speaker 2: hear more money, more government, more programs, less for you.
- 13:22Speaker 2: That's what you have.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Yeah, we need to go wreck a perfectly good building
- 13:26Speaker 3: in downtown Youngstown and build a new $ 60 million county
- 13:31Speaker 3: Taj Mahal.
- 13:32Speaker 2: And were you asked about it? Was your input important?
- 13:35Speaker 2: You'll get the bonds. You'll get the bill for that facility,
- 13:39Speaker 2: but you have no input in it. No input whatsoever
- 13:42Speaker 2: as far as the crazy location, the parking, and the
- 13:46Speaker 2: nonsense that's going on. But, you know, Gino was more
- 13:50Speaker 2: interested in that facility than he was in doing stuff
- 13:53Speaker 2: for the average taxpayer. I mean, he ran as a Republican,
- 13:58Speaker 2: but his main agenda all had to do with the
- 14:01Speaker 2: old Southside Hospital. And so he put the county in debt.
- 14:05Speaker 2: And if you vote him out of office, you'll still
- 14:07Speaker 2: be stuck with that building and that debt without having
- 14:10Speaker 2: a single say so on it. Bad location, bad investments,
- 14:14Speaker 2: bad idea, period. But you don't have a say so.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Shut up. Here's the bill. Pay the bonds. See you later.
- 14:24Speaker 3: And you can go, if you go look up your
- 14:27Speaker 3: property tax on the auditor's website, it breaks it down.
- 14:32Speaker 3: If you scroll down, it breaks it down and shows
- 14:34Speaker 3: you where all your money goes. The schools get the overwhelming.
- 14:36Speaker 3: The schools, like in my case, my Beaver Township, gets
- 14:39Speaker 3: the overwhelming, probably 70% of it. But one of the
- 14:42Speaker 3: things that's on there is county bond retirement. So what
- 14:45Speaker 3: do you think happens when they build the $ 60 million
- 14:48Speaker 3: Mahoning Taj Mahal? What do you think is going to
- 14:51Speaker 3: happen to the county bond retirement? Is it going to
- 14:53Speaker 3: need more or less of our tax money for county
- 14:56Speaker 3: bond retirement?
- 14:59Speaker 2: Right.
- 15:00Speaker 3: There's a lot more of our money. And here's the
- 15:03Speaker 3: other thing. This is the canary in the coal mine.
- 15:07Speaker 3: If you look over the last several months, I think
- 15:10Speaker 3: Boardman Township, Poland Township, Canfield School District, you're starting to
- 15:14Speaker 3: see all these little local fiefdoms say, we are running
- 15:17Speaker 3: out of money. We need to put a new levy on.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Canfield's asking for one. Boardman's asking for one. Poland, I think,
- 15:23Speaker 3: is late. I don't even think, like Denise said yesterday,
- 15:25Speaker 3: I don't even think they're going to be able to
- 15:26Speaker 3: make it because they don't have enough time to get one.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Stand by for one minute. Back with Rich and more
- 15:30Speaker 2: of your calls ahead. Well, I've told you many times,
- 15:36Speaker 2: not all CB is the same. When it comes to CBD,
- 15:39Speaker 2: quality and safety have a high priority, and that's what
- 15:42Speaker 2: you get at Sapphire Essentials at 1975 East Western Reserve
- 15:45Speaker 2: Road in Poland or online at sapphire-essentials.com. For August, the
- 15:49Speaker 2: special is 25% off all pain balm in-store and online.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Use the code 25OFF for online orders or visit the
- 15:56Speaker 2: store in Poland. And don't forget, it's the only CBD
- 15:59Speaker 2: company owned by an aging specialist in our area. Go
- 16:01Speaker 2: to someone you can trust, Dr. Jim Collins at Sapphire
- 16:04Speaker 2: Essentials CBD.
- 16:05Speaker 10: Transform your bathroom with a new walk-in.
- 16:08Speaker 2: WKBN. All right, so I go to the auditor's site,
- 16:11Speaker 2: and I scroll to the bottom, as you say, right?
- 16:14Speaker 3: Yep.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Pick up your property. And it shows you where all
- 16:20Speaker 2: your taxes go.
- 16:21Speaker 6: Yep.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that's it.
- 16:24Speaker 3: There's a breakdown.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Yep. Total for Verb Manor, $ 4, 764. $ 4, 764.
- 16:31Speaker 3: I'm around $ 7, 200, I believe. Yeah, $ 4, 764, which is ridiculous.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Let's see, the schools get $ 2, 311 a year from me. Yeah,
- 16:42Speaker 2: the township gets $ 1, 451 a year from me. The metro
- 16:45Speaker 2: parks get $ 105 a year from me. The children's services
- 16:48Speaker 2: get $ 215. Developmental disabilities, $ 221. The library, $ 135. Mental health, $ 75.
- 16:49Speaker 6: The TB, $ 2.
- 16:49Speaker 3: 12.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Let's see, the county bond retirement, $ 22. The county general fund, $ 160.
- 16:51Speaker 2: And senior citizens, $ 62. You add it all up, it's
- 17:14Speaker 2: $ 4, 764 is what they show right there. It's ridiculous. What
- 17:22Speaker 2: did it used to be? I've got to go back.
- 17:27Speaker 2: It's just interesting. You can see how it's grown over
- 17:30Speaker 2: the years. It's just ridiculous.
- 17:31Speaker 3: But here's the problem. Here's the problem. Like I said,
- 17:34Speaker 3: you see it in Canfield, Boardman, Polk. All of these
- 17:37Speaker 3: places are running out of money.
- 17:38Speaker 8: Yep.
- 17:39Speaker 3: The snowballs have started to come down the mountainside and
- 17:42Speaker 3: are gaining momentum and speed. The financial avalanche that is
- 17:47Speaker 3: going to hit these organizations over the next couple of years,
- 17:50Speaker 3: they are not prepared for. They should have been tightening
- 17:53Speaker 3: their belts. And the reason we've gotten through the last
- 17:56Speaker 3: four or five years okay is because of all the
- 17:58Speaker 3: federal money that Biden threw into the economy and at
- 18:03Speaker 3: these people. Mahoney County got, what, $ 46 million. City of Youngstown,
- 18:07Speaker 3: there's a great one. What was it, $ 83, $ 84 million?
- 18:11Speaker 3: What do we have to show for the $ 84 million
- 18:14Speaker 3: the imbeciles that run the city of Youngstown pissed away
- 18:18Speaker 3: over the last three, four, five years? Name me one
- 18:22Speaker 3: thing you can point to that says, oh, that was
- 18:25Speaker 3: a great way to spend your Biden bucks. I can't
- 18:28Speaker 3: think of anything. I can't think of anything in the
- 18:30Speaker 3: area that we spent federal money on that was from
- 18:34Speaker 3: that appropriation that was supposedly for COVID. I can't think
- 18:40Speaker 3: of anything that we spent our money on that was
- 18:43Speaker 3: a worthwhile expenditure.
- 18:44Speaker 2: All you've got to do is, like you said, look
- 18:47Speaker 2: at Poland Township where they're struggling to have enough money
- 18:50Speaker 2: to pay their cops. And when you listen to that meeting,
- 18:54Speaker 2: it was like, well, what do we do here? What
- 18:58Speaker 2: do we spend here?
- 18:58Speaker 6: What do we do there?
- 18:59Speaker 2: Well, maybe you shouldn't have done that stuff. I mean,
- 19:01Speaker 2: you don't have enough money to function as Poland Township.
- 19:05Speaker 2: But then again, on the other hand, take a look.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Can you imagine if you once again, if you live
- 19:08Speaker 2: in the city of Canfield and you're facing a significant
- 19:12Speaker 2: mill as far as the school levy is concerned and
- 19:16Speaker 2: this MRDD levy nonsense. So both of those would pass.
- 19:20Speaker 2: We can price a lot of people out of their
- 19:22Speaker 2: homes in Canfield. I mean, there's no doubt in my mind.
- 19:25Speaker 2: And I'm not just talking the elderly. I'm talking everybody
- 19:28Speaker 2: in between. It is utter insanity. And I say it again.
- 19:31Speaker 2: It will never be enough till they have all of
- 19:33Speaker 2: your money. Wake up. That's all I got.
- 19:36Speaker 3: It has to stop. It absolutely has to stop. And
- 19:41Speaker 3: I mean, like I've said, I have three healthy kids.
- 19:44Speaker 3: We stopped after the third because I didn't want to
- 19:46Speaker 3: risk it. And I feel, I can't imagine. what it's
- 19:50Speaker 3: like to have to raise a child that has physical,
- 19:54Speaker 3: mental disability type needs. And I feel for those people.
- 19:58Speaker 2: But you know, the taxpayers can't cover everything. I mean,
- 20:02Speaker 2: everything's got to learn to be more efficient. You can
- 20:04Speaker 2: only do so much.
- 20:06Speaker 3: And I have no problem providing these people with assistance,
- 20:09Speaker 3: but where does it end? Where do you stop? If
- 20:13Speaker 3: you look up in Minnesota, what were they doing? They
- 20:16Speaker 3: were trying to sign up as many people as they
- 20:18Speaker 3: could with autism. People were telling you, go get an
- 20:22Speaker 3: autism diagnosis. They probably took them to a phony doctor
- 20:25Speaker 3: who said, oh, yeah, this kid has autism, so that
- 20:27Speaker 3: they could get them on the dole and start collecting
- 20:29Speaker 3: funds from the government. It's a grift. And I feel
- 20:34Speaker 3: sorry for the legitimate people out there because, like I've said,
- 20:37Speaker 3: I can't imagine having a special needs child or a
- 20:41Speaker 3: special needs adult as they grow older, what have you.
- 20:44Speaker 3: But there is so much waste, fraud, and abuse in
- 20:47Speaker 3: these government programs that needs rooted out. And there's so
- 20:52Speaker 3: many benefits that these things provide that you and I,
- 20:55Speaker 3: we can't afford a lot of this stuff.
- 20:58Speaker 2: The people you're listening to on this How.
- 21:00Speaker 7: Many people take a vacation every year that the government
- 21:02Speaker 7: pays for?
- 21:03Speaker 2: You get a vote on it, I suggest you vote
- 21:05Speaker 2: against it. I genuinely do.
- 21:07Speaker 3: It's got to go down.
- 21:08Speaker 7: This MRDD levy has.
- 21:10Speaker 4: To go down.
- 21:10Speaker 3: A message needs to be sent.
- 21:12Speaker 2: I will not vote for it. Thank you, Rich. Appreciate it.

- 21:25Speaker 1: A house explosion early this morning in Kansas leaving two
- 21:31Speaker 1: people severely.
- 21:32Speaker 11: Burned and injured. The explosion caught on a ring camera
- 21:39Speaker 11: in the 1600 block of Bonnet Road northeast around 4
- 21:42Speaker 11: o'clock completely destroying the home. One victim found in the
- 21:45Speaker 11: street with severe burns and traumatic injuries after being thrown
- 21:47Speaker 11: from the home by the explosion. The other victim found
- 21:49Speaker 11: a block over before 8.30. A natural gas leak said
- 21:52Speaker 11: to have been the cause, but the cause of the
- 21:54Speaker 11: leak and where it came from are still under investigation.
- 21:57Speaker 11: A police officer in Alliance entering into a plea deal,
- 22:00Speaker 11: admitting to OVI and obstructing official business, sentenced to one
- 22:03Speaker 11: year of probation and will pay a fine. Sergeant Ethan
- 22:06Speaker 11: Griffin is said to have struck a pole in Austintown
- 22:08Speaker 11: last month and then tried to flee on foot before
- 22:10Speaker 11: he eventually surrendered. In a separate case, Griffin was arrested Tuesday,
- 22:14Speaker 11: now charged with felony child endangerment.
- 22:17Speaker 2: I'm Sean Gallagher.

- 22:30Speaker 1: Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 22:36Speaker 2: And you're on the air.
- 22:36Speaker 9: I like the way you guys are going there. That
- 22:42Speaker 9: people got to do something.
- 22:44Speaker 2: But they won't.
- 22:45Speaker 9: I appreciate it.
- 22:46Speaker 2: I mean, they absolutely will not. Here's what here's what
- 22:51Speaker 2: people need to do. They need to go out and
- 22:52Speaker 2: vote no on this stuff. They need to vote no
- 22:55Speaker 2: on MRDD. They need to vote no on on this
- 22:58Speaker 2: because I was just looking at my my yearly taxes
- 23:02Speaker 2: in 2023. There were four thousand four hundred seventy six
- 23:05Speaker 2: twenty twenty four.
- 23:06Speaker 11: $ 4, 547.
- 23:06Speaker 6: 2025, $ 4, 764.
- 23:07Speaker 2: So they go up a couple hundred a year, basically.
- 23:08Speaker 2: And so now the next step is going to be
- 23:10Speaker 2: just shy of $ 5, 000 a year.
- 23:10Speaker 12: Every year.
- 23:11Speaker 2: I mean, it's just, it's insane. It is, and it's everything.
- 23:29Speaker 9: And you know what?
- 23:31Speaker 5: That's why.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Well, I just looked at it right here. So let's see.
- 23:35Speaker 2: So next year, it's beyond $ 5, 000. It's $ 5, 092 is where
- 23:38Speaker 2: that will be first for the year. Does that seem right?
- 23:42Speaker 2: Let me see. I got to look at this. I
- 23:43Speaker 2: got to pay. No, I know. I stand corrected. So
- 23:59Speaker 2: it's going to be 4764. That's for what year?
- 24:04Speaker 4: 2025.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Okay. Never mind. It's going to be 2026. I can
- 24:10Speaker 2: hardly wait.
- 24:14Speaker 9: No, and I believe you get a take by Dennis
- 24:18Speaker 9: Prager from Prager University. So there's three types of people
- 24:25Speaker 9: out there, the fighters, those who help the fighters, and
- 24:28Speaker 9: those who do nothing. And luckily, right, you got Denise
- 24:34Speaker 9: over there doing her thing, and she's a fighter. And
- 24:37Speaker 9: you got some people helping her, maybe like you. You
- 24:42Speaker 9: got to get it done. And I think, you can
- 24:47Speaker 9: disagree with me if you would like, I think the
- 24:51Speaker 9: Trump administration and his moves on boys not beating up
- 24:56Speaker 9: girls in girls' sports. I'd say the border. I'd say
- 25:03Speaker 9: the waste, fraud, and abuse that he talked about in
- 25:05Speaker 9: 2016 and people made fun of him. There's no waste, fraud,
- 25:08Speaker 9: and abuse.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Okay.
- 25:11Speaker 9: Hey, another fighter, Ben Shapiro, sending his people to Columbus
- 25:16Speaker 9: and finding all the fraud down there. I don't know.
- 25:20Speaker 9: Is it take a village? It takes something. It takes
- 25:23Speaker 9: a group of people. It takes more than one. Because
- 25:27Speaker 9: if Trump did everything he wanted to do, that's fine.
- 25:31Speaker 9: But now he has the backup. Now he has the
- 25:37Speaker 9: DOJ saying, yeah, mutilate those children, you perverts, and you're
- 25:42Speaker 9: going to jail. And, again, we've lived through who, what's
- 25:50Speaker 9: his name, John Kasich and Mitt Romney and all the
- 25:54Speaker 9: rest of them. You know, quote, unquote, Republicans. But they
- 25:59Speaker 9: did nothing. Name a policy. Trump's policies are everything. He's getting,
- 26:06Speaker 9: you know, you do it every day, and that's fine.
- 26:09Speaker 9: It's not my favorite thing to go to Iran. All
- 26:13Speaker 9: I'm saying is, My glass is two-thirds full because of
- 26:17Speaker 9: all the things going on. That lady in Minnesota, jail,
- 26:23Speaker 9: 40 years. That's never happened before for waste, fraud, and abuse.
- 26:28Speaker 9: Forty years, just like Rich was talking about. They try
- 26:32Speaker 9: to get more and more people, right? Sign them up.
- 26:35Speaker 9: Sign them up. They're autistic. And you're stealing money from
- 26:38Speaker 9: actual autistic people.
- 26:40Speaker 13: Well..
- 26:41Speaker 9: You know what? With this administration, it's changing. And if
- 26:47Speaker 9: we can get more done and have, whatever, two and
- 26:52Speaker 9: a half more years, congratulations. Because, again, I think overall,
- 27:01Speaker 9: Trump gets a passing grade. The administration, everybody that backs
- 27:05Speaker 9: him up, Marco Rubio, You know, like you keep pointing
- 27:11Speaker 9: out what DeSantis is doing. You know whose team DeSantis
- 27:14Speaker 9: is on? It's the same team. So this non-establishment Republican
- 27:21Speaker 9: wing is doing amazing things day after day after day,
- 27:29Speaker 9: the day after we watched Fauci squirm in his seat
- 27:33Speaker 9: and look like he was constipated. Because you need to
- 27:38Speaker 9: point it out. And people are, well, I don't want
- 27:41Speaker 9: to go back over. You know what? Sorry that you
- 27:43Speaker 9: don't want to go back over. You have to. You
- 27:47Speaker 9: have to point out. People don't know. Half the people
- 27:50Speaker 9: aren't believing. Another quarter of the people just don't know
- 27:55Speaker 9: what actually went on. And the beauty of America is this.
- 28:02Speaker 9: The different sheriffs, because they're elected, they're different than the
- 28:06Speaker 9: regular police. They said, yeah, we're not enforcing those ridiculous
- 28:12Speaker 9: China virus mandates. And I think I can say China
- 28:16Speaker 9: virus now because we know where it came from. Oops.
- 28:19Speaker 9: Maybe you shouldn't have been writing a diary, a 14-year-old girl.
- 28:23Speaker 9: But me and my wife went to the Grandview Tavern,
- 28:28Speaker 9: Lake Milton. And it had the sign on the door, hey, caution,
- 28:33Speaker 9: China virus, do this, do that, have plexiglass and a mask.
- 28:38Speaker 9: And me and my wife were like, I guess we're
- 28:41Speaker 9: going to put a mask on. And we opened the
- 28:43Speaker 9: door and walked in there. We were the only ones
- 28:46Speaker 9: with a mask on, and everybody looked at us. And
- 28:48Speaker 9: we're like, no, no, no, we're regular humans. We just
- 28:51Speaker 9: saw the sign on the door that said you had
- 28:53Speaker 9: to do this. We didn't know the rules were different.
- 28:56Speaker 9: on the inside of this door. I appreciate you put
- 28:59Speaker 9: it up for the, I don't know, local constable or somebody,
- 29:04Speaker 9: but it was the same thing in Pennsylvania. When you
- 29:07Speaker 9: went out of Allegheny County, it looked like COVID never happened.
- 29:14Speaker 8: But..
- 29:15Speaker 9: The state's in control. They shut down the beaches at
- 29:19Speaker 9: Presque Isle up in Erie because we had a Democrat
- 29:22Speaker 9: governor marching with Black Lives Matter members and saying, look,
- 29:28Speaker 9: to comply with COVID regulations, the beaches at Presque Isle
- 29:35Speaker 9: will be like this. Beach 1 is open. Beach 2
- 29:39Speaker 9: is closed.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Beach 3 is open. Beach 4 is closed.
- 29:42Speaker 9: And so on and so forth. And I'm like, wait,
- 29:45Speaker 9: if you wanted people further apart from each other... Wouldn't
- 29:50Speaker 9: you have all.
- 29:51Speaker 2: The beaches open? The whole Fauci thing was just the
- 29:55Speaker 2: utmost in arrogance that you saw yesterday. I mean, obviously,
- 29:58Speaker 2: he's got this pardon from Biden. So let's be realistic.
- 30:03Speaker 2: No one's going to be held accountable for this. Which
- 30:05Speaker 2: is just frightening to me. China's not going to be
- 30:08Speaker 2: held accountable for the gain of Function Lab. Fauci's not
- 30:12Speaker 2: going to be held accountable. Fauci is sheer evil. Fauci
- 30:15Speaker 2: was funding this stuff. Fauci, with his diary or whatever
- 30:18Speaker 2: you want to call it, his notes. So you find
- 30:21Speaker 2: out from his notes that Fauci was saying one thing
- 30:24Speaker 2: in public and a different thing in his notebook. So
- 30:28Speaker 2: he was contradicting himself. So he knew he was lying
- 30:32Speaker 2: to you. About the mask, about the six-foot distancing, about
- 30:38Speaker 2: he was lying about all this stuff, about him getting
- 30:40Speaker 2: the vaccine, about him having some..
- 30:42Speaker 13: He had a heart attack.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Yeah, him having..
- 30:46Speaker 13: He had a heart attack.
- 30:48Speaker 9: That NFL player, DeMar Hamlin, right? He has the weirdest...
- 30:54Speaker 9: heart attack ever. And he's a 25-year-old super athlete. He's
- 31:01Speaker 9: the alpha athlete. And in front of everybody's eyes, all
- 31:06Speaker 9: over America and the world, he falls on his back,
- 31:09Speaker 9: dying on the field.
- 31:11Speaker 2: You're right.
- 31:11Speaker 9: What?
- 31:12Speaker 2: You're right.
- 31:12Speaker 9: What happened? And then they all lied to us.
- 31:16Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 31:17Speaker 9: It's not from the shot. It's not from the back.
- 31:20Speaker 9: Guess what? 99.9% it is from the shot. And I
- 31:25Speaker 9: got the shot. I'm not saying everybody dies from it.
- 31:28Speaker 9: I'm saying if Fauci and DeMar Hamlin fell on the
- 31:32Speaker 9: floor and had to go to the hospital, and then
- 31:35Speaker 9: the creepiest part is Fauci never told us that he
- 31:38Speaker 9: went to the hospital.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Well, like he got the Moderna. Moderma shot or Moderma.
- 31:44Speaker 2: He got that shot and he had complications for it
- 31:46Speaker 2: and he got COVID, but he, but you never knew that,
- 31:49Speaker 2: you know, it now because of the diary, you know,
- 31:51Speaker 2: that he was, he's evil. He was a liar. He
- 31:53Speaker 2: was funding this and he will not be held accountable.
- 31:57Speaker 2: And so he will get, he will totally get away
- 31:59Speaker 2: with it. He will totally escape. The only good thing
- 32:02Speaker 2: about what's going on. Is the information is getting out
- 32:05Speaker 2: there so people that have an open mind can hear
- 32:07Speaker 2: it and say, boy, how wrong this is. I don't
- 32:11Speaker 2: understand any of the Democrats just totally ignoring it or
- 32:15Speaker 2: going along with it. All Americans should be outraged at
- 32:18Speaker 2: what Fauci did, what Fauci funded and the lies he
- 32:20Speaker 2: told and the consequences that people suffered. Appreciate it, Jake.
- 32:25Speaker 9: Thanks.
- 32:25Speaker 6: All right.
- 32:25Speaker 2: You're on the air. Hello.
- 32:29Speaker 13: Yes.
- 32:30Speaker 8: Yes.
- 32:32Speaker 3: I remember a COVID story.
- 32:34Speaker 12: When I realized COVID, something was up. We all went
- 32:38Speaker 12: through the mask and six-foot nonsense for a long time.
- 32:43Speaker 12: I traveled down to Nashville, Tennessee with my mask, got
- 32:46Speaker 12: off the plane. My wife, we're walking around. I looked
- 32:51Speaker 12: at my wife. I said, notice anything different down here?
- 32:54Speaker 12: She's like, nobody has a mask on.
- 32:56Speaker 3: I go, yeah, you're right.
- 32:57Speaker 12: We go out to dinner that night on Broadway, Friday night.
- 33:02Speaker 12: Not a mask to be seen. Thousands of people.
- 33:04Speaker 3: I look at my wife. I said, what is going on?
- 33:06Speaker 12: From that moment on, I knew there was something going on,
- 33:09Speaker 12: and I think we've all figured it out.
- 33:11Speaker 3: Pretty sad.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Well, once again, Fauci is evil. The lies, the deceptions,
- 33:17Speaker 2: what he was saying publicly and what he was saying privately,
- 33:19Speaker 2: and he will not be held accountable. That's the shame
- 33:24Speaker 2: of all of it.
- 33:25Speaker 12: A person will have zero responsibility for the lives that
- 33:29Speaker 12: he affected and will continue to affect in the future.
- 33:32Speaker 7: It's very sad.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Have a great day, Ron. Thank you. Here's the reality.
- 33:36Speaker 2: COVID is a real thing. COVID wasn't just a cold
- 33:42Speaker 2: or any of this nonsense. COVID was created in this lab.
- 33:46Speaker 2: It was a real thing. And it really did kill
- 33:49Speaker 2: a lot of people. And those people died alone without
- 33:58Speaker 2: their family members at their side in a hospital or
- 34:00Speaker 2: a nursing home. Those people were denied care that could
- 34:05Speaker 2: have been effective in helping them survive. Ivermectin, hydrochloroquine. Things
- 34:12Speaker 2: that were effective but were blackballed because of the lies
- 34:16Speaker 2: being told. The doctors that were fighting the battle were
- 34:21Speaker 2: being blackballed and threatened. I don't care if you're a
- 34:28Speaker 2: Democrat or Republican as an American. You need to know
- 34:33Speaker 2: this information and you should be so offended by what's
- 34:37Speaker 2: Fauci funded that this went to China and the cover-up
- 34:45Speaker 2: that took place and the lies that took place and
- 34:49Speaker 2: the fact that nobody is going to be held accountable
- 34:53Speaker 2: for it.
- 34:54Speaker 3: No one.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Whether that's the complications from the vaccine or the complications
- 35:00Speaker 2: and death from COVID. Because there are people that got
- 35:03Speaker 2: COVID that didn't die that have long-term effects. So we
- 35:08Speaker 2: know there are people that have COVID that have long-term effects.
- 35:12Speaker 2: We know there are people that had the vaccine and
- 35:14Speaker 2: had died and also have long-term effects. And I'm telling you,
- 35:22Speaker 2: that guy to me is absolutely a creep. He is evil.
- 35:28Speaker 2: And he will not pay a price for it at all.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Joe Biden gave him a pardon, probably knowing that when
- 35:36Speaker 2: he left office, this information would come out. And Fauci's
- 35:41Speaker 2: like offended that his own thoughts are coming out that
- 35:44Speaker 2: he wrote on government computers that contradict what he was
- 35:48Speaker 2: saying publicly and show him to be the fraud and
- 35:50Speaker 2: liar that he is. You're on the air.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Hello.
- 35:57Speaker 7: Hello, Ron.
- 35:58Speaker 14: Yes.
- 35:59Speaker 12: You're talking about the liar, the cheater, cost us money,
- 36:03Speaker 12: cost us lives.
- 36:04Speaker 8: Who are you talking about?
- 36:05Speaker 2: You're talking about Trump? You could talk about Trump. You
- 36:09Speaker 2: could talk about just about any politician. But in this case,
- 36:13Speaker 2: I'm talking about Fauci.
- 36:16Speaker 7: Oh, okay, because..
- 36:18Speaker 8: The things that like G2 said, stuff like that about
- 36:21Speaker 8: no inflation and it's Trump, not Fauci.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Oh, no, there's huge inflation going on. And the inflation
- 36:28Speaker 2: that's going on is because of this war and the
- 36:30Speaker 2: decision that Trump made. And it's a big mistake. And
- 36:33Speaker 2: I think it will come back to bite Trump and
- 36:34Speaker 2: haunt Trump as it should. It was his decision. He
- 36:38Speaker 2: made it. Well, you know, people can say, well, he
- 36:41Speaker 2: was coaxed into it by Netanyahu or Israel or who
- 36:44Speaker 2: knows if they have something on him. But he made
- 36:47Speaker 2: the final decision to go down this road when we
- 36:49Speaker 2: had gas prices down to 250. Things were going in
- 36:52Speaker 2: the right direction. And in the blink of an eye,
- 36:54Speaker 2: based on that decision, things got reversed for the worse.
- 36:58Speaker 2: And now they're trying to say, how do we get
- 37:01Speaker 2: out of this mess we created? And it is a
- 37:03Speaker 2: mess that he created and it has added to inflation.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Added on top of the inflation that we already had.
- 37:10Speaker 2: It's a damn shame. But in this case, we're talking
- 37:12Speaker 2: about the lies that Fauci was telling publicly and what
- 37:16Speaker 2: he wrote privately and the people that died as a result.
- 37:20Speaker 8: Well, again, I blame it on Trump because he's the
- 37:22Speaker 8: one who hired.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Fauci, right? No, I don't think he hired Fauci. I
- 37:26Speaker 2: think Fauci's been in a career in that position for decades.
- 37:32Speaker 12: But he was put to the top by Trump.
- 37:35Speaker 2: I don't know if he split that top, and I
- 37:37Speaker 2: think he was in charge of that organization. He's a doctor,
- 37:41Speaker 2: but he's a career bureaucrat in that position for years
- 37:44Speaker 2: and years and years.
- 37:45Speaker 8: When it came to the COVID thing, though, who put him.
- 37:50Speaker 12: In charge of that?
- 37:52Speaker 2: No, he would be in charge of that, the National
- 37:54Speaker 2: Institute of Health. I mean, he's in charge. They're in charge.
- 37:58Speaker 2: That's what they do. I mean, the bottom line is, listen,
- 38:05Speaker 2: I don't care what your– you can blame Trump for everything,
- 38:07Speaker 2: but in this case, it's about Fauci. Fauci made these decisions,
- 38:11Speaker 2: and Fauci did this stuff, and he will not be
- 38:14Speaker 2: held accountable because he's been pardoned. So nothing will happen
- 38:18Speaker 2: to him.
- 38:19Speaker 6: Nothing.
- 38:19Speaker 8: Did you hear about the guy down in– just went
- 38:22Speaker 8: to Nashville, and they walked out, and there's all these
- 38:24Speaker 8: people without wearing masks and all that stuff?
- 38:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:26Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 38:27Speaker 2: He just called.
- 38:28Speaker 3: It's their decision to wear masks.
- 38:30Speaker 12: It's their decision to do this, that, and the other thing.
- 38:33Speaker 8: So if they scare everybody, the politicians say, well, I'm
- 38:37Speaker 8: going to close the school down, or I'm not going
- 38:38Speaker 8: to do it here, or I'm going to do it online,
- 38:40Speaker 8: or I'm going to do this. It was somebody else
- 38:42Speaker 8: who made that decision. Now, Fauci said this, and everything's
- 38:46Speaker 8: going to be fine, or it's really.
- 38:48Speaker 9: Bad, and you can't do this.
- 38:50Speaker 7: It's up to you whether you're going to pull the
- 38:52Speaker 7: kids out of school on a snowy.
- 38:54Speaker 8: Day or a COVID day or whatever you're.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Going to do. So just so we get it clear, folks,
- 39:00Speaker 2: after you saw yesterday's testimony, you don't think Fauci had
- 39:03Speaker 2: anything to do with this? I want to clarify this
- 39:07Speaker 2: to our listeners after we all saw what we saw
- 39:09Speaker 2: take place yesterday. You don't think Fauci's responsible for any
- 39:13Speaker 2: of this?
- 39:15Speaker 3: Of course he is.
- 39:15Speaker 8: So is every other politician that said, don't do this,
- 39:18Speaker 8: don't do that.
- 39:18Speaker 2: But who was in charge? Who was in charge? Who
- 39:22Speaker 2: guided those decisions?
- 39:24Speaker 7: I'm going to go with Trump.
- 39:25Speaker 8: Because he could have fired Fauci any time. And Biden
- 39:28Speaker 8: could have got rid of Fauci any time.
- 39:31Speaker 2: But they didn't now, did they?
- 39:33Speaker 8: No.
- 39:34Speaker 2: So, okay. Thanks. I mean, that call's just bizarre. I
- 39:38Speaker 2: don't even know how you can come to that conclusion
- 39:40Speaker 2: after you watched Fauci yesterday. Back in a minute. Good
- 39:49Speaker 2: Wednesday morning. Longstown's news, weather, and talk station, 570 WKBN. Oh, mercy.
- 39:55Speaker 2: 3.55 in the afternoon. We're on Verb News Radio, 570 WKBN. Thursday,
- 40:00Speaker 2: July 30th, 83 degrees, and you're on the air.
- 40:05Speaker 4: Hey there, good afternoon.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
- 40:08Speaker 4: Yeah, kicking back and forth pretty rough on that. Thought
- 40:11Speaker 4: you walked into a kangaroo court. It should have never
- 40:16Speaker 4: been Rand Paul. I think it would have ran smoother.
- 40:19Speaker 4: But he pleaded the fifth. He can do that. But
- 40:23Speaker 4: who's going to get stuck with the East Wing now?
- 40:28Speaker 4: The taxpayers of the United States are going to get
- 40:31Speaker 4: stuck paying for that East Wing. With all them people
- 40:33Speaker 4: he said it was going to contribute to building.
- 40:35Speaker 2: I've got to tell you, the least of my concerns,
- 40:37Speaker 2: and I'm just going to be straightforward with you, is
- 40:40Speaker 2: the East Wing. I don't want to say that it's insignificant,
- 40:45Speaker 2: but it's insignificant. I am genuinely deeply disturbed by what
- 40:50Speaker 2: I saw yesterday with Fauci. And Rand Paul has been
- 40:53Speaker 2: on this all along because he is a doctor. And
- 40:56Speaker 2: I think Rand Paul has an understanding of it. And
- 40:59Speaker 2: so I don't think it was a kangaroo court. I
- 41:02Speaker 2: think it's seeking the truth, which I think you deserve
- 41:06Speaker 2: to know. So I think this is a vital thing to... unravel,
- 41:12Speaker 2: even though nothing will come from it. But that is
- 41:15Speaker 2: what I'm concerned about in this war in Iran is
- 41:18Speaker 2: what I'm concerned about in where energy is headed. Now,
- 41:21Speaker 2: those are the those are I hate to say it.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Those are the only two things that that disturb me
- 41:25Speaker 2: on a national level. But right now, on a national level,
- 41:29Speaker 2: if I if I vented to you, I would say
- 41:31Speaker 2: to you, I am one pissed off American based on
- 41:35Speaker 2: Fauci and my government's And you've been around as long
- 41:40Speaker 2: as I have. You remember the lies that took place
- 41:42Speaker 2: during Vietnam and Agent Orange, do you not? When perfectly
- 41:47Speaker 2: healthy people went and they came back with cancers that
- 41:50Speaker 2: weren't in the family and the government denied for years.
- 41:53Speaker 2: And you can remember it, that Agent Orange had anything
- 41:56Speaker 2: to do with it. They denied it, these guys died,
- 41:59Speaker 2: and they continued to deny it until they couldn't any longer.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Do you remember that deception that was pulled back in
- 42:05Speaker 2: those days?
- 42:06Speaker 4: I have three friends that... Or in high school that
- 42:09Speaker 4: died from it. And I understand what you're saying.
- 42:11Speaker 2: All right. And now there's no doubt in my mind
- 42:17Speaker 2: that what Fauci did killed a lot of people. COVID
- 42:23Speaker 2: killed a lot of people. There's people with long-term effects
- 42:26Speaker 2: from it. And the vaccine killed a lot of people
- 42:29Speaker 2: and have a lot of long-term effects. And I'm telling
- 42:32Speaker 2: you that man is evil. And he's going to get
- 42:36Speaker 2: away with it. They're all going to get away with it.
- 42:40Speaker 2: That's so damn deeply disturbing to me. I can't tell you.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Stand by for me, all right? Just hang in there
- 42:47Speaker 2: for a minute. I'll come back to him, pick up
- 42:49Speaker 2: my conversation in a minute.
- 43:03Speaker 15: From ABC News, I'm Wayne Cabot. The FBI says it's
- 43:07Speaker 15: aware of cyber attacks this week at more than 30
- 43:10Speaker 15: water plants across Minnesota. It does not confirm suspicions by
- 43:13Speaker 15: some state and local investigators that Iranian hackers are to blame.
- 43:18Speaker 15: As Iran and the U.S. intensify attacks on each other's forces,
- 43:21Speaker 15: other Gulf nations are fending off more missiles.
- 43:24Speaker 2: ABC's Matt Rivers in Jordan.
- 43:25Speaker 16: When we're talking about regional escalation, these other countries might
- 43:29Speaker 16: get dragged in simply as this conflict goes on. They're
- 43:32Speaker 16: often faced with very little choice. Here in Jordan specifically,
- 43:35Speaker 16: if you remember... In the beginning of the war, going
- 43:38Speaker 16: back to late February, March, Jordan really didn't get targeted
- 43:40Speaker 16: nearly as much as other countries. I'm thinking of the
- 43:42Speaker 16: United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain. Those were the countries in
- 43:46Speaker 16: the region that were getting hit a lot more frequently. Now,
- 43:49Speaker 16: since the ceasefire really was shattered a few weeks ago,
- 43:52Speaker 16: you have seen Jordan targeted in a way simply it
- 43:55Speaker 16: was not before.
- 43:56Speaker 15: Ukraine says that Russia used a North Korean missile for
- 43:59Speaker 15: the first time in their latest strikes. What a difference
- 44:02Speaker 15: a day makes on Wall Street. After a sell-off yesterday
- 44:05Speaker 15: that was the biggest in over a year, the Dow
- 44:08Speaker 15: up at the closing bell, 615 points, recovering more than
- 44:11Speaker 15: half of its losses. President Trump may pull Todd Blanche's
- 44:15Speaker 15: nomination for Attorney General to avoid conceding to Senate Republicans
- 44:19Speaker 15: who want limits on the IRS immunity that he negotiated
- 44:23Speaker 15: for himself and his family. Mandela Barnes dropping out of
- 44:26Speaker 15: the Democratic primary for Wisconsin governor, shaking up that race
- 44:29Speaker 15: less than two weeks before the election.
- 44:31Speaker 2: A Georgia father is.
- 44:32Speaker 15: Going to prison for ignoring warning signs before his son
- 44:36Speaker 15: killed four people at Appalachee High School in Georgia in 2024.
- 44:40Speaker 15: Judge Nicholas Prim giving the father, Colin Gray, 15 years.
- 44:43Speaker 2: But for you failing to get cult help, but for.
- 44:47Speaker 7: Your failure to remove access to the guns, this doesn't happen.
- 44:51Speaker 2: September 4th would have been a normal day.
- 44:53Speaker 15: The son used a rifle his dad gave him for
- 44:56Speaker 15: Christmas to carry out the murders. You're listening to ABC News.
- 45:02Speaker 2: If you haven't.
- 45:02Speaker 17: Switched to PureTalk because you're not sure their coverage is
- 45:06Speaker 17: every bit as reliable as big wireless, why not take
- 45:08Speaker 17: them for a test drive? For a limited time, PureTalk
- 45:11Speaker 17: is offering any of their plans for just $ 15 a
- 45:14Speaker 17: month for the first three months, including their top-tier unlimited

- 45:23Speaker 17: on a high-speed network with unlimited data from an American

- 45:30Speaker 17: the savings begin.
- 45:31Speaker 18: These days, heading back to school means more than pencils
- 45:34Speaker 18: and notebooks. It means laptops, tablets, online accounts, and a

- 46:03Speaker 15: The census says that 12 million Americans moved in 2024,
- 46:07Speaker 15: most inside their home states.
- 46:09Speaker 2: As for the rest... Here's ABC's Jim Ryan.
- 46:11Speaker 19: U-Haul is out with its mid-year statistics on who's moving
- 46:14Speaker 19: where based on one-way rentals of trucks and trailers. Baby
- 46:18Speaker 19: boomers are flocking to the Carolinas, according to the moving company,
- 46:21Speaker 19: while millennials and members of Gen X are headed to
- 46:23Speaker 19: Texas and Florida. And Gen Z, people born between 1997
- 46:27Speaker 19: and 2012, U-Haul says New York City was their top
- 46:31Speaker 19: destination in the past year.
- 46:33Speaker 15: Floodwaters that claimed lives in the Northeast where searches are
- 46:36Speaker 15: still underway should soon be receding, says ABC meteorologist Leslie Lopez.
- 46:41Speaker 20: We still have some rain in some of these areas. Now,
- 46:43Speaker 20: I will say that most of the rain is much lighter,
- 46:45Speaker 20: and the low-pressure center that had been pushing in all
- 46:48Speaker 20: that heavy rain is exiting out of the area. So
- 46:51Speaker 20: the good news is we're going to start to see
- 46:52Speaker 20: those floodwaters recede.
- 46:53Speaker 15: A search is on for a 10-year-old girl missing in
- 46:56Speaker 15: the Passaic River in New Jersey. Searchers found the body
- 46:58Speaker 15: of a boy of the same age. His 11-year-old sister
- 47:01Speaker 15: was rescued. There will soon be a new way to
- 47:04Speaker 15: get your food delivered faster. From the air. DoorDash just
- 47:10Speaker 15: now got approval from the FAA to begin its own
- 47:12Speaker 15: drone delivery service. DoorDash will be building its own aircraft
- 47:16Speaker 15: to deliver the food or whatever is ordered. There is
- 47:19Speaker 15: no timeline just yet on when this service will be operational.
- 47:23Speaker 15: Getting food from the air must seem like a dream
- 47:26Speaker 15: come true for so many people. Wayne Cabot, ABC News.
- 47:31Speaker 15: A to Z dependable services.
- 47:33Speaker 2: Plumbings. Now, Ron Verb. On News Radio 570, WKBN. It's
- 47:39Speaker 2: 4.06 in the afternoon, NewsRadio 570, WQEN, and Ron Furb
- 47:43Speaker 2: from the Kingdom of Mahoning here on a Thursday afternoon.
- 47:45Speaker 2: Nice day with 83 degrees. So I don't mean to
- 47:49Speaker 2: take it out on you, caller, in the sense that
- 47:52Speaker 2: my frustration is the betrayal that you and I lived
- 47:56Speaker 2: during that Agent Orange period, but I'm telling you that
- 47:58Speaker 2: my frustration is this betrayal that happened during... COVID and
- 48:04Speaker 2: the lies that Fauci told, the fact that he's got
- 48:08Speaker 2: this pardon, he'll get away with it, no one's going
- 48:11Speaker 2: to be held accountable. And I sit back and I
- 48:14Speaker 2: think to myself, these people have died in nursing homes
- 48:16Speaker 2: without their family there to be by their side as
- 48:20Speaker 2: they pass on, whether it's a nursing home or a hospital,
- 48:23Speaker 2: or to deny them ivermectin or hydrochloroquine, or the The
- 48:30Speaker 2: fact that he was funding this kind of stuff or
- 48:32Speaker 2: the fact that this vaccine has killed people and created
- 48:36Speaker 2: long term effects as well. And it's like there's zero accountability.
- 48:42Speaker 2: And as I watched that guy yesterday, I thought he's
- 48:45Speaker 2: just an evil bastard. I really, really did. I thought
- 48:48Speaker 2: I looked at him and I just saw an evil man.
- 48:51Speaker 2: It's almost like somebody with no conscience. And you're going
- 48:53Speaker 2: to sit there and you're going to take the fifth shot.
- 48:56Speaker 2: as opposed to explain yourself. You got a pardon. You
- 48:59Speaker 2: might as well tell everybody what you did. But maybe
- 49:01Speaker 2: it's just too embarrassing on what he did. So I
- 49:04Speaker 2: look at that. And then, of course, I'm a broken
- 49:08Speaker 2: record on this situation as far as Iran is concerned
- 49:10Speaker 2: and the issues that are going on there and how
- 49:13Speaker 2: you get out of that mess. But go ahead.
- 49:16Speaker 4: That's okay. That's okay. You don't upset me. I'm too
- 49:20Speaker 4: old for that stuff. I've known you too long. I
- 49:23Speaker 4: knew you when I was 19, whatever you started on
- 49:27Speaker 4: that radio station. But anyhow, what I was trying to
- 49:31Speaker 4: get at before you went headlong into the COVID thing
- 49:35Speaker 4: and Fauci, was the pharmacist called up, started talking, I
- 49:40Speaker 4: think it was the pharmacist was called up, talking about
- 49:42Speaker 4: all this tax money going out of the way.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Yes.
- 49:45Speaker 4: For no reason at all. And all I was bringing
- 49:47Speaker 4: up was trying to align it, the East Wing, plus
- 49:53Speaker 4: there's 400-some employees that work for the government and government
- 49:58Speaker 4: workers that were hurt over there in the Middle East,
- 50:03Speaker 4: plus there were four deaths. They were never brought up because, well,
- 50:07Speaker 4: that was during the ceasefire. So they never even mentioned
- 50:11Speaker 4: them for service members. And with him and his, you
- 50:21Speaker 4: don't know which way he's going to go. Okay, we're
- 50:23Speaker 4: not going to have that bird going over from Canada
- 50:26Speaker 4: or Michigan. Oh, you name it after me, that's okay then.
- 50:29Speaker 4: We can do that.
- 50:33Speaker 9: I don't know. I just..
- 50:36Speaker 4: It just scares the hell out of me. Now all
- 50:39Speaker 4: of a sudden the Epstein files up and disappear. And
- 50:43Speaker 4: we're not doing anything about that again. So it's six
- 50:49Speaker 4: or one and a half of the dozen or the others.
- 50:51Speaker 4: But what I do know is politicians are like diapers.
- 50:56Speaker 4: They need to be changed often.
- 50:59Speaker 2: I would agree with that. I would genuinely agree with that.
- 51:03Speaker 2: And I sit back and there are great people that
- 51:07Speaker 2: go into the public sector, few and far between. I mean,
- 51:10Speaker 2: for whatever reason, the first name that comes to my
- 51:13Speaker 2: mind that I would share with you that I think
- 51:15Speaker 2: is really, really– A terrific public servant is Ron DeSantis.
- 51:22Speaker 2: That name keeps coming to my mind. He's such a
- 51:24Speaker 2: great governor. He's such a great philosophy on taxes. And
- 51:28Speaker 2: I think the guy would make an excellent president. And
- 51:31Speaker 2: I say that because I think he's educated and he reads.
- 51:34Speaker 2: I mean, that's, I just..
- 51:36Speaker 4: I understand that. And he did all that. But so far,
- 51:40Speaker 4: so far, my friend, we haven't seen the outcome of
- 51:45Speaker 4: these tax... getting rid of the taxes... what he's going
- 51:49Speaker 4: to do to replace them, and how he's going to
- 51:51Speaker 4: keep things going. There's no idea whatsoever. And he's gotten
- 51:56Speaker 4: himself in trouble ever since he took that job of
- 51:59Speaker 4: being governor.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Well, I don't know about that. I mean, it seems
- 52:02Speaker 2: like Florida's operating pretty efficiently. The fact of the matter
- 52:06Speaker 2: is he's cut out a lot of the waste. He's
- 52:08Speaker 2: cut out programs that aren't necessary. And he explains why
- 52:14Speaker 2: he's doing what he's doing. If it benefits a taxpayer,
- 52:18Speaker 2: putting another lane on I-4, then we're going to do it,
- 52:21Speaker 2: and it's worthwhile doing. If it's some nonsense... Like a
- 52:26Speaker 2: school system that has less students but wants twice as
- 52:28Speaker 2: much money, that doesn't make any sense. I mean, it's
- 52:32Speaker 2: just basic priorities in saying yes and no. Zero balanced budgeting.
- 52:39Speaker 2: We start at zero every year, not where you were
- 52:41Speaker 2: last year. I mean, these are pretty smart moves. And
- 52:46Speaker 2: I would like to see that happen. What you saw,
- 52:48Speaker 2: as I did, listen, the nonsense that was discovered under
- 52:52Speaker 2: Doge and all the money, your tax dollars, it was
- 52:54Speaker 2: going to really nonsense stuff. I don't care if you're
- 52:57Speaker 2: a Democrat or Republican. As an American, you'd say, what?
- 53:00Speaker 2: Millions of dollars were going to this kind of stuff?
- 53:03Speaker 2: And what ultimately happened? They ran Elon Musk right out
- 53:07Speaker 2: of town. I mean, they basically called him Hitler and
- 53:09Speaker 2: a Nazi and firebombed his car company and were assaulting
- 53:14Speaker 2: his customers. So he had to leave to go back
- 53:17Speaker 2: to put his attention back on his business. And as
- 53:19Speaker 2: soon as he left, as soon as he wasn't doing
- 53:22Speaker 2: Doge anymore, all of a sudden all that stuff stopped.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Because it was really to run him out of Washington
- 53:27Speaker 2: so the waste, fraud, and corruption can continue. But that's
- 53:30Speaker 2: your money. That's your money.
- 53:33Speaker 4: You're right, but in a second note, when he went
- 53:37Speaker 4: in and claimed something, we're just going to say beta, boo, boo, boo.
- 53:42Speaker 4: In that particular group, there were a lot of things
- 53:47Speaker 4: in it that were good. And he walked in and
- 53:50Speaker 4: wiped the whole thing out. And if he saved the
- 53:54Speaker 4: American people so much, so much money, then why... Are
- 54:00Speaker 4: we in so much, so much debt?
- 54:03Speaker 2: Well, first of all, a lot of what he did,
- 54:05Speaker 2: I didn't see things that were beneficial. I saw a
- 54:08Speaker 2: lot of wasted money. And I saw a lot of
- 54:10Speaker 2: times when federal judges would reverse the decisions where they
- 54:14Speaker 2: would try to cut this nonsense out. And all of
- 54:16Speaker 2: a sudden, some federal judge says, well, you can't do that. Well,
- 54:20Speaker 2: so if you're asking me, am I optimistic that we'll
- 54:22Speaker 2: ever get this spending under control, the debt and deficit?
- 54:26Speaker 2: The day they ran Elon Musk out of town means
- 54:29Speaker 2: that fraud and corruption is continuing as we speak. I
- 54:32Speaker 2: don't think you'll ever see anyone go after it or
- 54:35Speaker 2: try to do something for it. It takes somebody with money, power,
- 54:41Speaker 2: and intellect and talent. And the group that he could
- 54:44Speaker 2: assemble and the computer knowledge that they have to track
- 54:47Speaker 2: all of this stuff down, make everything more efficient, give
- 54:50Speaker 2: a check and balance system. I think we deserve that
- 54:53Speaker 2: as taxpayers. But that was derailed. And I don't think
- 54:58Speaker 2: you'll ever see that get under control. And at some point,
- 55:01Speaker 2: the crap will simply hit the fan when it comes
- 55:04Speaker 2: to the debt and deficit of this country. And I
- 55:06Speaker 2: think that's very close to happening. And when it happens,
- 55:09Speaker 2: who do you think they'll screw? Oh, we're going to
- 55:11Speaker 2: have to change your Social Security. You're not going to
- 55:13Speaker 2: get as much. Medicare's in trouble. Medicaid's in trouble. They're
- 55:19Speaker 2: going to screw every citizen that had nothing to do
- 55:22Speaker 2: with the decisions that were being made. And the people
- 55:25Speaker 2: who made the decisions won't be touched at all. And
- 55:28Speaker 2: I'm not saying that Trump hasn't added to this debt deficit.
- 55:30Speaker 2: This situation in Iran that he decided to get involved
- 55:33Speaker 2: with has added tremendously to it. And he's failed to
- 55:37Speaker 2: do adequate cutting of, well, hell, he took a $ 900
- 55:41Speaker 2: billion military budget and upped it to $ 1.
- 55:44Speaker 21: 5 trillion.
- 55:44Speaker 2: It's ridiculous. So I'm with you there.
- 55:49Speaker 4: You're right. You're right about that. Like I said, change
- 55:52Speaker 4: them diapers and don't be unauthentic.
- 55:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but here's the problem. Here's the problem.
- 55:58Speaker 4: Let's break out the Vaseline and get it straightened out.
- 56:01Speaker 2: When you talk about changing diapers at my age, I
- 56:03Speaker 2: take it literally, okay?
- 56:05Speaker 4: Oh, well, excuse me. I'm sorry.
- 56:07Speaker 6: All right.
- 56:07Speaker 2: See you later. All right. You're on the air. Hello.
- 56:11Speaker 7: Hi, Ron.
- 56:12Speaker 2: It's JJ the Trumpster.
- 56:15Speaker 22: Yep.
- 56:15Speaker 7: Yeah, you guys are, you know, all you liberals are
- 56:18Speaker 7: picking on him. We're picking on him. He did some
- 56:23Speaker 7: great things there. I don't know what you guys are
- 56:24Speaker 7: all complaining about.
- 56:27Speaker 2: I'm just not used to this. I am not used
- 56:29Speaker 2: to the new JJ the Trumpster. I mean, I'm finding it.
- 56:34Speaker 7: Really entertaining, but it's... My wife doesn't know who she's
- 56:39Speaker 7: talking to all the time. I'm... I'm on the left,
- 56:45Speaker 7: and then I'm on the right, and then I switch
- 56:46Speaker 7: back and forth. I switch like I'm a cross-dresser.
- 56:52Speaker 8: Yes.
- 56:52Speaker 7: I'm a woman that's going to come in to lay
- 56:57Speaker 7: down with her and lay beside her at night. Am
- 56:59Speaker 7: I going to be J.J., the dancing queen, or am
- 57:03Speaker 7: I going to be... uh, JJ, the Trumpster. I don't,
- 57:07Speaker 7: she doesn't really know.
- 57:08Speaker 2: But, uh, I mean, it's, it's funny though. When you
- 57:11Speaker 2: hear JJ say, let's say after his shock therapy is JJ,
- 57:15Speaker 2: the Trumpster. When he says, I don't know what's with
- 57:17Speaker 2: you people. He's done a lot of really good things.
- 57:19Speaker 3: I mean, it's.
- 57:20Speaker 7: Just, I still don't, I still don't know what, but
- 57:25Speaker 7: I just know that there was, there was something he did.
- 57:27Speaker 7: I am not too sure, but I, um, interesting, interesting, uh,
- 57:32Speaker 7: Program you got going. Tell Rich that I found out
- 57:36Speaker 7: about that 30 seconds before he did. So whenever he
- 57:41Speaker 7: came on, I always would go way fast so I
- 57:45Speaker 7: can get to listen to Ted the Conservative. So back
- 57:49Speaker 7: at him. So tell me whenever he passed me and
- 57:53Speaker 7: he didn't want to hear my voice or Frank, I
- 57:57Speaker 7: didn't want to hear his.
- 58:00Speaker 2: I will tell you, actually, I can add him. The
- 58:04Speaker 2: two most frequently asked about callers when people ask me
- 58:08Speaker 2: when I'm not sitting here about the program, the two
- 58:10Speaker 2: most frequently callers people ask about are JJ the liberal and.
- 58:15Speaker 7: The reason why they're asking, they're wanting to know if
- 58:17Speaker 7: I'm dead yet.
- 58:18Speaker 2: So they can.
- 58:19Speaker 3: Have a party.
- 58:20Speaker 2: And G2. G2 and J.J.
- 58:22Speaker 6: The Liberal.
- 58:23Speaker 2: You know who would come in?
- 58:24Speaker 7: My demise is coming. That's all they're concerned about.
- 58:30Speaker 2: I would say three and four would probably be Ted
- 58:35Speaker 2: the Conservative and Fort Lauderdale Frank.
- 58:37Speaker 9: Yeah, and then everything.
- 58:39Speaker 7: And then every now and then, you probably throw Bubba
- 58:41Speaker 7: Ganoush in there because he's a real character.
- 58:44Speaker 9: And I mean that in a good.
- 58:45Speaker 7: Way there, Bubba, if you're listening. Remember, we're on the
- 58:50Speaker 7: same side. So, you know, we both believe that he
- 58:53Speaker 7: just needs a little bit of time, you know.
- 58:55Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 58:55Speaker 2: Now that you're the Trumpster, you and Bubba Ganoush, you
- 58:58Speaker 2: sound like Bubba Ganoush now. Oh, everything's going to be great.
- 59:01Speaker 7: I sound like Tigger. I don't sound like Tigger. But anyway,
- 59:05Speaker 7: I was just kind of curious. I was listening to
- 59:08Speaker 7: you guys today. I watched a little bit of the.
- 59:10Speaker 22: Fauci thing, and I feel a duality there because, one,
- 59:16Speaker 22: I know that we've been doing this, you know, again,
- 59:19Speaker 22: a function for quite a while because, As a person
- 59:22Speaker 22: who enjoys science.
- 59:24Speaker 10: We.
- 59:26Speaker 7: Needed to do these things. It's very risky, which obviously
- 59:29Speaker 7: we found out through COVID. But it is necessary in
- 59:32Speaker 7: a lot of ways because if it mutates itself, which
- 59:36Speaker 7: that's whenever you get a common cold, if you don't
- 59:39Speaker 7: take your antibiotics all the way through your script, Then
- 59:43Speaker 7: it mutates and it can and it can just mutate
- 59:46Speaker 7: itself and it can continue to thrive. So there's I
- 59:49Speaker 7: understand the reason why they're doing them, because, you know, say,
- 59:53Speaker 7: say some terrorist group gets a hold of a virus.
- 59:55Speaker 7: And if we've already done some research on it, we're
- 59:58Speaker 7: very close to getting a vaccine for it. That's the
- 1:00:01Speaker 7: purpose behind it. But COVID-19 was an example of the risk. Now,
- 1:00:07Speaker 7: as far as Fauci's concerned, I personally don't think that he,
- 1:00:12Speaker 7: with intention, wanted to hurt anybody. But I think that
- 1:00:15Speaker 7: he is responsible because that was his gig.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: That was his.
- 1:00:19Speaker 7: You know, he dropped the ball and a lot of
- 1:00:22Speaker 7: people died. You know, so I'm not going to give
- 1:00:26Speaker 7: him any pass. But in the same sense, too, that
- 1:00:29Speaker 7: there were people that were like Trump that were well
- 1:00:32Speaker 7: aware of the the dangers and the possibilities of what
- 1:00:36Speaker 7: was going to happen if we didn't.
- 1:00:39Speaker 9: Pay attention to it.
- 1:00:40Speaker 7: And I'm kind of always curious as why everybody says, well,
- 1:00:43Speaker 7: it was a fake this and it really wasn't dangerous.
- 1:00:45Speaker 7: But then millions of people died.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: Oh, no, I don't think I made no mistake. I
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: don't think it was fake at all. There was COVID-19. No,
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: you don't.
- 1:00:54Speaker 7: You've always said that.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: People who act like it was no big deal. I
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: don't say that at all. There was COVID-19. It was
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: created in a laboratory, and it did kill a lot
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: of people.
- 1:01:04Speaker 14: Exactly.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: And I agree.
- 1:01:05Speaker 7: You've never said that, but there's been other callers that
- 1:01:07Speaker 7: have called in and said that it wasn't this and
- 1:01:09Speaker 7: it wasn't that. But but in same sense there, you know,
- 1:01:12Speaker 7: people died. And again, I understand that people should have
- 1:01:15Speaker 7: had the opportunity to try, you know, another drug if
- 1:01:19Speaker 7: they felt comfortable and not had to be chastised for
- 1:01:22Speaker 7: doing it or their. or their doctor, you know, being chastised.
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: So I'll be done in, like, a minute, if you'll
- 1:01:28Speaker 7: just give me the time here. So, again, the problem
- 1:01:32Speaker 7: is that, you know, the people that were in charge,
- 1:01:35Speaker 7: like Trump and other people, concluding Fauci, all have to
- 1:01:39Speaker 7: take responsibility because they were aware of it before we knew,
- 1:01:43Speaker 7: and they all dropped the ball. So I'm just going
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: to leave it at that, as far as that's concerned.
- 1:01:47Speaker 7: I would appreciate your response to it. But the other thing, too,
- 1:01:50Speaker 7: is that... You know, he should have never wrote those
- 1:01:53Speaker 7: things down in his diary, and I don't have a
- 1:01:56Speaker 7: diary yet. You know, only when I'm cross-dressing do I
- 1:01:58Speaker 7: have the diary. When I'm, you know, J.J., the cross-dresser,
- 1:02:01Speaker 7: then I do have a diary. It's pink, and I
- 1:02:03Speaker 7: have little, like, feathers at the end of the pen,
- 1:02:05Speaker 7: you know, the kind of things I pull up on
- 1:02:07Speaker 7: my bed with my fluffy pillows, and I write down,
- 1:02:11Speaker 7: jot down my most private thoughts and everything, so my
- 1:02:16Speaker 7: son's coming here with my wife.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: I don't know that I can ever get that picture
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: now out of my mind.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: All right. Neither can my wife. Neither can my wife.
- 1:02:23Speaker 7: But anyhow, I appreciate you being, you know, challenging everything.
- 1:02:28Speaker 7: But tell Rich that, listen, next time he comes on,
- 1:02:31Speaker 7: I'll be panning forward.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: Thank you. J.J., the liberal Trumpster we don't know day
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: to day. You're on the air.
- 1:02:38Speaker 23: Hey, how you doing?
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: It's Emanuela Trumpster.
- 1:02:44Speaker 23: Well, listen, you know, this is one of those, not
- 1:02:47Speaker 23: why I called you, but this is one of those
- 1:02:49Speaker 23: don't bite your tongue moments, right? Quite possibly, this has
- 1:02:52Speaker 23: been the worst show you ever did. And I've been
- 1:02:53Speaker 23: listening to you for 25 years.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: Oh, great.
- 1:02:56Speaker 6: I'm glad.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: Because if I've hit bottom, there's only one way to go,
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: and that's up. Stand by for a minute, all right?
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: Just hang in there. Emanuel commenting on the worst show
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: I've ever done. So if that's the case, I can
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: only go up. iHeart Radio.
- 1:03:12Speaker 10: Transform your bathroom with a new walk-in shower.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Weather and Talk Station 570 WKBN. It's 423 on a
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: Thursday afternoon. It's 83 degrees and you're.
- 1:03:24Speaker 6: On the air.
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: Hey, Ron, I got..
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: Well, wait a minute. Hang on, hang on, hang on.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: I got to go back to Emanuel. I forgot. Just
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: hang on. Emanuel, go ahead.
- 1:03:34Speaker 23: Okay, now first of all, right? I know at 5 o'clock,
- 1:03:37Speaker 23: you know, you have to leave. But, you know, as
- 1:03:40Speaker 23: far as risk to pharmacists go and that conversation you
- 1:03:43Speaker 23: guys had.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:03:45Speaker 23: If you got a pen full of hogs, right, the
- 1:03:48Speaker 23: only one who's going to squeal is the one you
- 1:03:51Speaker 23: hit with a brick. Now, you guys turn to suffer
- 1:03:55Speaker 23: like the rest of us been suffering. Now, let me
- 1:03:58Speaker 23: tell you something else. I've been hearing nothing but passion
- 1:04:01Speaker 23: all day about things, but not once. Have I heard
- 1:04:05Speaker 23: somebody call this evil? Not once has somebody said this
- 1:04:08Speaker 23: is not right when it comes to the Epstein files.
- 1:04:11Speaker 23: And that comes straight out of the White House. You
- 1:04:14Speaker 23: guys are beating people up about everything else, right? But
- 1:04:18Speaker 23: you don't say nothing?
- 1:04:19Speaker 16: Nothing.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: Absolutely. Well, that's not that's not accurate. You're going to
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: you're going to have to end up apologizing to me
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: because I've said numerous things about Trump in the Epstein files.
- 1:04:30Speaker 23: You don't have the passion, Ron.
- 1:04:32Speaker 14: Oh, yeah.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: I have plenty of passion about it.
- 1:04:34Speaker 23: You don't talk about it every day. I don't need.
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: To talk about it every day. Good God.
- 1:04:40Speaker 23: Ron, I called you about yesterday when I was talking
- 1:04:42Speaker 23: to G2. Remember that?
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: Listen, I'm telling you that you have inaccurately betrayed me
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: on this program, that I've spoken about the Epstein files,
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: how Trump dropped a ball on it, how there's a
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: double standard of justice. No, I'm not going to. I
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: don't talk about most stuff every day. I talked about
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: Fauci part yesterday and today because he's in the news.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: You think I'm going to talk about Fauci every day?
- 1:05:08Speaker 23: Have you said the Epstein people are evil?
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: I think Jeffrey Epstein is evil. Absolutely, I think he's evil.
- 1:05:15Speaker 24: Only him?
- 1:05:16Speaker 23: What about the rest of them?
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: Oh, no, I think Maxwell is evil, and I think
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: the people that are covering it up are very much evil.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: But as I said on the air, if you were listening,
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: what trouble.
- 1:05:30Speaker 9: You— I stand corrected.
- 1:05:31Speaker 23: I stand corrected.
- 1:05:31Speaker 14: Now listen.
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:05:34Speaker 23: I talked to you and G2 yesterday, which was a
- 1:05:36Speaker 23: great conversation. I love talking to G2.
- 1:05:39Speaker 14: What about me?
- 1:05:40Speaker 23: Go ahead.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: What about talking to me?
- 1:05:44Speaker 23: Listen, man, you say you're going to take a break.
- 1:05:45Speaker 23: You got a break when you got the dang job.
- 1:05:47Speaker 23: Now listen to me very.
- 1:05:48Speaker 9: Carefully, okay? Listen to me very.
- 1:05:51Speaker 23: Very carefully.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: Do I need to take notes?
- 1:05:54Speaker 8: Yes. Well, I don't care.
- 1:05:56Speaker 23: It don't really matter, right? Because when I talk, I'm
- 1:05:58Speaker 23: talking to you. I don't care who's listening. I don't
- 1:06:00Speaker 23: care who turns it off because I turn it off too, right?
- 1:06:03Speaker 23: But what I'm telling you is this. When I talked
- 1:06:06Speaker 23: to you yesterday and I said, well, people call Democrats
- 1:06:09Speaker 23: all kind of names. And you told me, well, don't.
- 1:06:13Speaker 9: Take it personally.
- 1:06:14Speaker 23: Is that what you said?
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:17Speaker 14: You remember?
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: Did I tell you that yesterday?
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: If I said it, I meant it.
- 1:06:21Speaker 14: Okay.
- 1:06:22Speaker 9: Okay, then.
- 1:06:22Speaker 23: Let's see if you meant it or not. So if
- 1:06:24Speaker 23: I was to say Trump supporters are a bunch of racists,
- 1:06:28Speaker 23: would that make you mad?
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: Well, I would disagree with it, but, I mean, if
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: you said it, that it's America, you've got a right
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: to say it, whether it's fact or fiction. I mean,
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: that's free speech.
- 1:06:41Speaker 23: I can remember, I'm like an old ex-girlfriend. I can
- 1:06:44Speaker 23: remember when you used to do shows about people calling
- 1:06:48Speaker 23: Republicans racist, right? So I'm saying this, if I'm not
- 1:06:53Speaker 23: supposed to get upset when you guys talk about Democrats...
- 1:06:56Speaker 23: Don't you guys get upset when I say you guys
- 1:06:59Speaker 23: are a fucking racist?
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: I don't care if you get upset when we're talking
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: about Democrats, because if you think that it's a... That's America.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: If you've got an opinion that differs with that, you
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: should express it.
- 1:07:09Speaker 23: Your callers, especially that last call before J.J., he gets
- 1:07:14Speaker 23: upset when I call them, when I say Republicans are racist.
- 1:07:18Speaker 23: He called you. I can't believe he said we're racist.
- 1:07:21Speaker 13: Well, listen..
- 1:07:22Speaker 23: What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
- 1:07:25Speaker 23: But see, once again, you have a double standard. You
- 1:07:28Speaker 23: guys think one way, right?
- 1:07:31Speaker 25: It's okay.
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: I think you have a double standard.
- 1:07:35Speaker 23: It's okay to bring in the Clintons. It's okay. But
- 1:07:39Speaker 23: when it comes time to bring in a Pam Bondi,
- 1:07:41Speaker 23: she will not go up on the oath.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: I tell you what, here's a new.
- 1:07:46Speaker 6: Format, folks.
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: To please Emanuel, we're going to talk about the Epstein
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: files every single day. Oh, for the love of God.
- 1:07:54Speaker 23: I understand now. It's all about the ratings and the money.
- 1:07:56Speaker 23: Have a good day, Ron.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: Thank you. There's no point in doing a program if
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: nobody listens to it. I mean, I talked about the
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: Epstein files time and time again. And as you would remember, Emanuel,
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: I said that it's a double standard of justice. And
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: I find it deeply troubling and deeply disturbing. And as
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: I said there, these people are going to get away
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: with it. The political figures and the rich and influential,
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: some of them are being identified and shamed as a
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: result of it. But you're not seeing justice happen. You're
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: not seeing any trials. You're not seeing anybody go to jail.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: You're seeing the family deal with Prince Andrew and kind
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: of shaming him and shunning him. But if you're asking me,
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: am I holding my breath waiting for there to be accountability?
- 1:08:45Speaker 5: No.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: Do I find that troubling? Yes. Do I find that disturbing?
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: Do I find that to be a double standard?
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: And I've talked about it numerous times. I think it's
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: about the victims. I think the information should be put
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: out there. I think people should go to jail. jail.
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: I think it's disturbing whatever intelligence community or communities, whether
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: it's the Mossad or whether it's the USA and Mossad,
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: to have an organization A system where you're exploiting young girls'
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: children to have sex with adult men is reprehensible. And
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: I think everybody should be held accountable. And once again,
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: nobody will, just like Fauci won't with COVID. News Radio

- 1:09:31Speaker 11: A house explosion early this morning in Canton, leaving two
- 1:09:34Speaker 11: people severely burned and injured. The explosion caught on a
- 1:09:40Speaker 11: ring camera in the 1600 block of Bonnet Road northeast
- 1:09:43Speaker 11: around 4 o'clock, completely destroying the home. One victim found
- 1:09:46Speaker 11: in the street with severe burns and traumatic injuries after
- 1:09:49Speaker 11: being thrown from the home by the explosion. The other
- 1:09:51Speaker 11: victim found a block over before 8.30. A natural gas
- 1:09:54Speaker 11: leak said to have been the cause, but the cause
- 1:09:56Speaker 11: of the leak and where it came from are still
- 1:09:58Speaker 11: under investigation. A police officer in Alliance entering into a

- 1:10:15Speaker 11: arrested Tuesday, now charged with felony child endangerment.
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: I'm Sean Gallagher.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: Back to it, NewsRadio 570 WKBN. I'm telling you, the
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: whole Fauci thing, when you hear what, I mean, Fauci's
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: up there, in my opinion, with Joseph Mengele. I mean,
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: I just think he's that evil. You're on the air. Hello. Frank?
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: Ron?
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:11:08Speaker 26: Yes.
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: Ron, I'm not a doctor, and I'm not a psychologist,
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: but I have the perfect cure for Rich the pharmacist.
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: I want him to start masturbating. And while he is masturbating,
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: I want him to think of me and JJ. If
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: he thinks of me and JJ, I guarantee he'll start
- 1:11:31Speaker 4: feeling a lot better, and he'll have no desire... to
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: fast forward anymore.
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: That's just too bizarre even for me, Frank. I mean,
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: that is just, I don't know where to go with that.
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: It's even better for women. I don't even want to
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: visualize that, okay? I mean, I just don't want to
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: do that.
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: Okay, I'll skip the women part.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: Yeah, Fort Lauderdale, Frank, markets up today $ 600. Dow Jones,
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: S & P' s up. NASDAQ's up 679. I mean, so
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: let's see. Dow, Raleigh, 600 points. NASDAQ soars 3% in
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: tech-fueled recovery. How about that?
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: Yeah. And corporate insiders are sending warning signals about the
- 1:12:22Speaker 4: stock market. They're starting to sell. And that is a
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: leading indicator. Corporate insider selling.
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: I mean, it's... Amazon earnings were out in the– that's
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: a big reason why the stock market was way up today.
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: Were they good?
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: Yeah, they were good, and we're going to be getting
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: Apple's earnings pretty soon now, too.
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you, though, despite all of that stuff,
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: I am very– I'm not optimistic on the economy. I
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: said it yesterday. I'd say it to you again today, one-on-one.
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: I'm not optimistic. I don't– The market could be up today.
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: It could drop down tremendously. This situation in Iran has
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: caused me a great deal of concern as far as
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: the economics of this country are concerned.
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: Well, you know, the AI boom shows no signs of slowing,
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: and the U.S. economy is reaping the benefits. However, big
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: tech is forcing consumers to pay for the AI boom, Ron.
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: Oh, you mean as far as my electric bill and
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: my water bill?
- 1:13:34Speaker 14: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Yeah, well, that's... That's why, did you notice a lot
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: of communities are having moratoriums and this kind of stuff
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: against it? And I thought, well, why are you fighting technology?
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: I mean, you're not going to stop the AI boom.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: But I do want to appreciate and understand why they're
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: doing it now because they're saying, wait a minute, we
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: don't want you coming here and increasing my electric cost
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: even more or my water cost even more or polluting
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: my water. Basically, a lot of these communities are tapping
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: the brakes saying, we're not embracing this technology. as quickly
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: as you think we should.
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: Well, yes, but I'll tell you, when it comes to AI,
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: they have hyperscalers, and that refers to companies that operate
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: large-scale data centers designed for extreme scalability. It allows them
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: to manage vast amounts of data in computing resources efficiently,
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: and they provide cloud computing and data management services because
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: they rapidly adjust their scale to meet massive data needs,
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: you know, essential for the rapidly escalating demand for cloud services.
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: But hyperscalers operate at a scale far beyond traditional data
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: centers with multiple data centers globally. and thousands of servers.
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: And these companies offer what's called infrastructure as a service
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: and software as a service. Now, this enables businesses to
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: access computer power, storage, and software solutions without needing their
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: own physical infrastructure. So it saves on cost. I mean,
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: that's good for businesses, lowers their cost, and it's good
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: for the economy. I don't know.
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: AI is just... AI is going to happen whether you
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: like it or not.
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: Yeah, it sure is.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: And I think people have a right to be concerned
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: because of..
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: I've been warning how... Electric bills will eventually start going up.
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: They are already. The demand for water, your water will
- 1:16:01Speaker 4: get more expensive. That's because all models, especially large language
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: models and generative AI, they require astronomical amounts of computing
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: power and data storage for training and deployment, Ron.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: Right, and then you get to a point where people
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: can't afford the electric bill in their house or the
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: water bill, basic necessities that everybody needs. And incidentally, like
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: I've said to you before, at least here in Ohio,
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: our electric rates have doubled. I mean, they have doubled
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: from what they were. And you're right, they could go
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: up even more as this goes on, and your water
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: could go up even more. And that's why people are saying,
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: this is bull crap. We're putting the brakes on the
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: AI in these communities. But if it locates anywhere within
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: your grid, you're going to pay the price anyway. I mean,
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: it is a mess. How do they expect people to
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: survive when we continue to raise their property taxes, their
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: utilities go up, gas is going up, groceries are going up?
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: I mean, tell me that there's anything optimistic out there,
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: economically speaking. Oh, Frank from Fort Lauderdale.
- 1:17:10Speaker 4: Well, not much, but as far as the stock market...
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: As of July 22nd, over 42% of individual investors believe
- 1:17:23Speaker 4: that the stock market will be lower in the next
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: six months. And over 41% of retail investors believe inflation
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: will be the same over the next six months. Now,
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: historical data tends to result in hindsight bias. Hindsight Bias
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: is when a person believes the outcome of a future
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: event is predictable by studying the past. But individual investors
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: are almost always wrong. If they think that the stock
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: market will be lower than six months, the odds are
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: it will be higher.
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: Well, here's my thoughts. If I had to guess on
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: the stock markets, My concern is I think the stock
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: market can go down depending on energy in the war.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: I mean, that's the variable. I think the stock market
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: can go down and it can stay down for a
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: considerable amount of time. And that's what I'm concerned about.
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: By the way, I haven't read the news today. Did
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: you see if the Federal Reserve said if they're going
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: to raise interest rates?
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: They are not. They are not. That was yesterday.
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: Oh, they're going to keep them steady.
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: Yeah, but that doesn't mean... But they also said that
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: doesn't mean that they won't give that consideration next time
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: that they meet.
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: Well, that's another reason why the stock market is way
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: up today, because they were expecting the Federal Reserve... to
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: raise rates as early as a month and within the
- 1:18:56Speaker 4: next month. They shouldn't do that. Yeah.
- 1:19:01Speaker 6: All right. I got to move.
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: Thank you. NewsRadio 570, WKBN. It's just looking at this
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: in case you don't get the paper front page. Let's see.
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: Trustees at a special meeting in Poland Township Tuesday cut
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: the township seasonal employees and canceled the Walnut Grove stormwater project.
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: After learning there will be $ 1, 678 budget shortfall by the
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: end of the year. Trustees also are considering putting a
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: police levy on a November ballot, but they need to
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: move quickly because the deadline to get an issue on
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: a ballot is August 5th. I don't think they have
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: a choice. They're going to have to put a police
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: levy on there. The $ 1, 678 is hypothetical if we keep
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: going the way we are going, said Fiscal Officer Paul Cantor.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: Right now, we will have a negative $ 2, 000 balance at
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: the end of the year. There is a conversation that
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: was going to happen now or later. We have to
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: make cuts. We stopped the seasonal workers, Eric Angaro said,
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: and we stopped the Walnut Grove project since it had
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: not started yet. Cutting those two items helped, but would
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: not solve the projected deficits. One additional item on the
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: table is the Poland Township Police Department's new Chevy Tahoe.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: The vehicle was received, but no decals or equipment have
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: been installed on it yet. The vehicle costs $ 75, 000 and
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: could easily be sold for nearly that amount, Zangaro said.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: The price covers one payroll. This is pretty bad shape
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: when you've got to sell off. What is the one
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: thing that all police departments need to replace your vehicles?
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: And they're difficult to get. So is it worth getting
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: rid of that car to cover one payroll? Then what
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: do you do? He said some tough choices will have
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: to be made after things have been considered. I've been
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: here 15 years and have worked with five different trustees,
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: two different fiscal officers, and two different administrators. All of
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: us were a team that tried to do whatever we
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: could do without raising taxes and to give Poland Township
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: the best service on the planet. Well, sometimes you have
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: to raise taxes to keep your police departments working. And
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: I think people in any community, that is usually money
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: well spent. Let's see, what else does he say here?
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: Trustee Ed Kempers said a police levy from 30 years
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: ago had been deemed unconstitutional because of a technicality. With
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: new state regulations for ballot issues, the township took the
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: levy and combined it with another levy to offer one
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: new levy to bring in the same amounts. The levy
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: was set at... What is that? Is that a 0.73
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: mils and was not new money. It failed in November 2023,
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: but voters approved it in March 2024. That levy in
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: a township's general fund covers a cost for the police department.
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: Trustees looked at various increases in a township budget, such
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: as insurance increases, daily cost of operations, losses from the
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: recent passage of the Additional Homestead Act property tax relief,
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: The county commissioners approved earlier this summer. Kempers said that
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: he has noticed the carryover balance have been shrinking over
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: the years. Ungaro Kempers and Frank Domain, who was there
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: via a Zoom connection because he is out of town,
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: discussed the many details of the budget. The decision was
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: made to schedule a follow-up meeting next week when Domain
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: is back in town to decide on selling the Tahoe.
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: I don't know that you have a choice, but I
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: would be opposed to that. On selling the Tahoe and
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: on placing a police levy on a balance, you need
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: the Tahoe for your police department. Selling it, I mean,
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: where's the forethought? Where's the planning in this? I mean,
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: where's the, wasn't anybody looking ahead? I mean, this is pitiful.
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: Kemper said a police levy would need to be at
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: least 2.9 mils. Cantor said he would prefer 3 mils
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: So then go for three mils. I mean, that's what
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: you need to keep your police department going. And I
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: think people in Poland Township want their police departments. It's
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: pretty simple. So much money comes in and so much
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: money goes out. The last thing I want to have
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: is to lay off an employee. We're going to meet
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: next week and come up with a game plan. Well,
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: you should. Probably going to have to pass a levy there.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: You're on the air.
- 1:23:48Speaker 24: Absolutely not. You do not give them more money to
- 1:23:52Speaker 24: waste when they already show that they're irresponsible. That's crazy.
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: You starve the beast. Okay, how do you function? Now,
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: let me ask you this. I appreciate that comment. But
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: here's the reality. If you want a police department... And
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: you want somebody or if you want a police department,
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: somebody to show up, prevent crime and show up.
- 1:24:12Speaker 24: You cut other administrative jobs and you find the money.
- 1:24:16Speaker 24: You make the employees pay toward their health care.
- 1:24:19Speaker 9: There's lots of things you could do.
- 1:24:21Speaker 24: And you have to do that first. You don't give
- 1:24:23Speaker 24: them money. Listen, if I wasn't so busy with these
- 1:24:26Speaker 24: property tax signatures, I'd be getting signatures to have them recalled.
- 1:24:30Speaker 24: They're lucky I'm busy. This is B.S., I'm paying $ 8, 800
- 1:24:34Speaker 24: a year. I am not passing any levy, and neither
- 1:24:38Speaker 24: should anyone else.
- 1:24:40Speaker 8: That's not why I called.
- 1:24:42Speaker 24: I called about Trump.
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: Okay, but what are you going to do for– I mean,
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: I'm the first one to say– You make the cuts.
- 1:24:49Speaker 8: You make the cuts.
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: But hang on a second. Hang on a second. Let's
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: just be realistic. If you're asking me, was there piss-poor
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: vision here to see what was happening before you got
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: to this point, I would say I agree absolutely. But
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: I would also be the first person to say sometimes
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: you can't cut your way out of a situation like this.
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: And why do I say that? Sometimes– Okay, you laid
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: off some seasonal workers and you stopped some project. I
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: don't sense that in Poland Township there's a lot of
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: tax dollars being wasted. There's a lot of excess tax
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: dollars being wasted.
- 1:25:27Speaker 25: There is.
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: Okay, on what?
- 1:25:31Speaker 24: They have a GPS system that they're paying $ 100 a
- 1:25:34Speaker 24: month for every vehicle. Well, the police cruisers already have GPS.
- 1:25:39Speaker 24: Why the heck did they.
- 1:25:40Speaker 8: Go buy that?
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: Well, do they have a GPS system in there so
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: they can monitor where they're traveling?
- 1:25:45Speaker 7: Yes, the cruisers have it.
- 1:25:46Speaker 24: Why do they have to go buy extra?
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: I'm sure there's an explanation, but maybe to track their
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: employees or to track where their work trucks are. A
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: lot of times you put those systems in not police
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: vehicles but other vehicles so you can see if somebody's
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: speeding so you can see where they are. It has
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: a tendency to increase productivity, not decrease it. If it's
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: the type of GPS system I'm familiar with, but that's,
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: that's not very much money, a hundred a month. Listen,
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: sometimes I'm just going to say it and you know,
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: you and I are on the same page on a
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: lot of stuff, but here is a reality. You can't
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: always cut your way out of this type of problem.
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: I'll go back to say from what I'm looking at,
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: I don't think there's huge money wasted in Poland township.
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: Sometimes you need to increase money coming in because you,
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: You do have to pay more for officers, for police vehicles,
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: $ 75, 000 for the vehicle and the decals. By the time
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: you get it all set up, you might be at
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: $ 100, 000 or $ 85, 000.
- 1:26:46Speaker 27: Well, that used to be $ 50, 000. So you've got to
- 1:26:51Speaker 27: get additional money to keep your police department, to keep
- 1:26:55Speaker 27: cruisers there.
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: I just don't think the answer is..
- 1:26:58Speaker 7: Well, they never go off for bids.
- 1:26:59Speaker 24: They just go with whatever. You've got to watch the
- 1:27:02Speaker 24: meetings from the beginning of the year, and you'll see
- 1:27:04Speaker 24: what I'm talking about, just like Boss Lady tried to
- 1:27:06Speaker 24: tell me yesterday. You've got to watch those meetings, and
- 1:27:08Speaker 24: you'll see how they operate and how they've been operating.
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: Well, the problem with their operation is that they didn't
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: look ahead enough to say, we can't afford this or
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: we can't afford that, to put themselves in this particular situation. But,
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: I mean, these projects like fixing the roads or whatever
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: they're doing, it's not like they're bad ideas. Don't you
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: want that infrastructure repaired?
- 1:27:32Speaker 24: Yeah, but, I mean, on certain repairs and other things,
- 1:27:34Speaker 24: you go out for bids. You get the best price. And,
- 1:27:37Speaker 24: I mean, this is what Frank Domain tried to do, and.
- 1:27:40Speaker 7: They didn't do it.
- 1:27:42Speaker 24: You got to watch the meetings. I'm telling you the
- 1:27:44Speaker 24: way they operate. You don't want to give them more money.
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: Well, my question to Frank Domain is, do you think
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: you can really cut your way out of this mess
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: to be able to afford your police department? Because without
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: knowing for certain, I'm going to go out on a
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: limb and say, I bet you can't. I bet there's
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: no way you can do that.
- 1:28:00Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 1:28:01Speaker 24: I mean, I call it the talk about Trump because
- 1:28:03Speaker 24: everybody's trying to blame COVID on him.
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: And it's not him. Stand by. Stand by. I'm coming
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: back to you in a minute. Hang on.
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: Your one stop for news radio 570 WKVN.
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: All right. And Ron Verb, you're on the air.
- 1:28:24Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:28:24Speaker 24: So what I was saying about Trump, everyone wants to
- 1:28:26Speaker 24: blame Trump for COVID. When it was Fauci, who was
- 1:28:29Speaker 24: a so-called expert, that the media just fawned all over,
- 1:28:33Speaker 24: thought he had all the answers. And when Trump tried
- 1:28:35Speaker 24: to help people in one of his press conferences, he
- 1:28:37Speaker 24: was talking about a doctor named Zevzo. out of New
- 1:28:41Speaker 24: York who was on the Hannity show. And he had
- 1:28:43Speaker 24: said he cured 395 of his 400 patients of COVID.
- 1:28:48Speaker 24: with a certain protocol, and that was like vitamin C,
- 1:28:51Speaker 24: vitamin D, zinc, azithromycin, and hydroxychloroquine. Well, all of a sudden,
- 1:28:56Speaker 24: Trump tries to bring this up at a press conference,
- 1:28:58Speaker 24: and the media jumps right down his throat.
- 1:29:00Speaker 7: You're not a doctor, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:29:03Speaker 24: Then pharmacists wouldn't even fill hydroxychloroquine for people. It's something
- 1:29:08Speaker 24: that they use for rheumatoid arthritis, okay? But unless you
- 1:29:12Speaker 24: had rheumatoid arthritis, they refuse to fill it. So they
- 1:29:15Speaker 24: were waging pharmaceutical warfare against the American people when they
- 1:29:19Speaker 24: knew this drug would help people and they wouldn't allow it.
- 1:29:22Speaker 24: And nothing Trump could do because the media, like I said,
- 1:29:25Speaker 24: they made the Keebler-El-Fauci out to.
- 1:29:27Speaker 14: Be a god.
- 1:29:28Speaker 24: And Trump couldn't do anything about it. If you remember that,
- 1:29:31Speaker 24: that's what happened. So he's the one with the protocols,
- 1:29:36Speaker 24: Fauci with his ventilators, his remdesivir, his masking everybody. That
- 1:29:40Speaker 24: was him.
- 1:29:41Speaker 9: That was not Trump.
- 1:29:44Speaker 24: So you can blame the media and throw them in
- 1:29:46Speaker 24: the mix because they would not give Trump any credibility
- 1:29:49Speaker 24: at all.
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't. Listen, I blame Fauci for all of it.
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: What I saw yesterday was the utmost in arrogance. I'm
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: with you 100 percent.
- 1:29:59Speaker 24: And Zev Zelensky's protocol, it's called Z-Stack. I mean, you
- 1:30:02Speaker 24: could buy it now.
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: I lost you. You're on the air.
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree.
- 1:30:09Speaker 28: You know, there's so much fraud going on on all
- 1:30:11Speaker 28: different levels. I mean, just how Rich started out the
- 1:30:14Speaker 28: whole show. You know, if you don't have people like,
- 1:30:16Speaker 28: you know, our last caller, Rich, just doing this on
- 1:30:19Speaker 28: their own behalf, going in and figuring things out so
- 1:30:22Speaker 28: people can listen and hear these things. I mean, paying
- 1:30:25Speaker 28: for dinners, fashionable clothing, vacations, rent. I mean, I'm all
- 1:30:31Speaker 28: for helping people out. But at some point in time,
- 1:30:34Speaker 28: you know, Ron, you always say, you know, all my
- 1:30:36Speaker 28: money comes out of the same pocket. At what point
- 1:30:38Speaker 28: do I just run out? At what point do I
- 1:30:41Speaker 28: stop trading my time in for money? At what point
- 1:30:45Speaker 28: is it just too much? I'm only on this earth
- 1:30:48Speaker 28: for a short period of time. How many people do
- 1:30:50Speaker 28: I have to take care of on the dole for
- 1:30:52Speaker 28: the rest of my life? I mean, it's just insanity,
- 1:30:57Speaker 28: and it's something new every day. I mean, did you
- 1:30:59Speaker 28: happen to see today in Spain the beaches of Spain?
- 1:31:05Speaker 21: No.
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: Yeah, we're going to have to.
- 1:31:07Speaker 28: Take a look at it on the break.
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: All right. We'll talk next week. Legal show coming up. Hey, Ron,
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: I'm going to go check in with Mike Leonard. Investment coach,
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: John Arnold Studios. This is 570 WKBN Youngstown, an iHeartRadio station.
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: Guaranteed human.
- 1:31:29Speaker 29: From ABC News, I'm Lindsay Davis, anchor of Prime, streaming
- 1:31:34Speaker 29: weeknights on ABC News Live. Money lost, money made after
- 1:31:38Speaker 29: the worst day for the Dow in more than a year.
- 1:31:40Speaker 29: It made back more than half those losses today. The
- 1:31:42Speaker 29: Dow gaining 614 points even as the Iran war drags
- 1:31:46Speaker 29: on and with energy markets in turmoil. What made the
- 1:31:48Speaker 29: market move is Microsoft. It's earnings the best in 18
- 1:31:52Speaker 29: years because investors finally see AI spending translating into profits.
- 1:31:56Speaker 29: President Trump says he may withdraw Todd Blanch's nomination for
- 1:31:59Speaker 29: attorney general because of opposition from two senators in his
- 1:32:02Speaker 29: own party. John Cornyn and Tom Tillis are blocking the
- 1:32:05Speaker 29: vote over Trump's immunity deal with the IRS. But there's
- 1:32:08Speaker 29: late news from the Capitol and ABC's Catherine Folders.
- 1:32:11Speaker 30: For the first time this week, after many canceled meetings,
- 1:32:14Speaker 30: that Acting Attorney General Todd Blanch did in fact meet
- 1:32:17Speaker 30: with Cornyn and Tillis.
- 1:32:19Speaker 10: Just moments ago, the.
- 1:32:20Speaker 30: Meeting did not happen here on Capitol Hill. It was
- 1:32:22Speaker 30: off campus, so out of view, despite being outside the
- 1:32:25Speaker 30: senator's offices. So we didn't see the meeting occur, but
- 1:32:28Speaker 30: they have met. I'm also told by sources that they
- 1:32:31Speaker 30: believe they are closer. What that means is unclear at
- 1:32:34Speaker 30: this point, considering there's been a great deal of back
- 1:32:36Speaker 30: and forth.
- 1:32:36Speaker 10: But the reality is the Senate here is gone. So
- 1:32:39Speaker 10: they would have to get this done on Monday.
- 1:32:41Speaker 30: And then maybe they could get Blanche confirmed by the
- 1:32:44Speaker 30: August recess, which begins next week.
- 1:32:46Speaker 29: Cyber attacks are being reported at more than 30 water
- 1:32:49Speaker 29: plants across Minnesota. State and federal authorities are looking into
- 1:32:52Speaker 29: whether Iran could be behind the attacks. The FBI says
- 1:32:55Speaker 29: it is aware of the attacks on Sunday and Monday,
- 1:32:57Speaker 29: but did not assign blame. Ukraine says a recent attack
- 1:33:00Speaker 29: by Russia used a North Korean missile for the first time.
- 1:33:04Speaker 29: A Georgia father who ignored warning signs before his son
- 1:33:07Speaker 29: shot up Appalachian High School, killing four people, gets 15
- 1:33:10Speaker 29: years in prison.
- 1:33:11Speaker 31: The judge telling the dad.
- 1:33:12Speaker 9: You did not provide a stable household.
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: You did not have things in check with Marcy's issues
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: and what the kids were being exposed to.
- 1:33:22Speaker 29: The teen used a rifle his dad gave him for Christmas.
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: You're listening to ABC News.
- 1:33:30Speaker 3: From the NASCO Roofing and Construction News Center, NASCO, the
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: Valley's trusted and passionate roofer, here's what's trending across Ohio.
- 1:33:37Speaker 32: 162 days have come and gone and workers at Lorain
- 1:33:42Speaker 32: County Job and Family Services remain on strike, waiting for
- 1:33:46Speaker 32: contract negotiations to resume with the Lorain County Board of Commissioners,
- 1:33:50Speaker 32: who the union says has refused to give in on
- 1:33:52Speaker 32: contract demands. The striking workers continue picketing outside the building
- 1:33:56Speaker 32: on Northridge Road. Rosemary Zayas is among them, and she
- 1:34:00Speaker 32: says it has not been easy.
- 1:34:02Speaker 5: We're struggling. A lot of us are struggling. Thankful for
- 1:34:05Speaker 5: the donations of the people. They are donating money. You know,
- 1:34:09Speaker 5: a few things to us and stuff like that. But,
- 1:34:11Speaker 5: you know, we're out here struggling. But, you know, we
- 1:34:14Speaker 5: stand on what we believe.
- 1:34:16Speaker 32: She says they are going to weekly board meetings urging
- 1:34:18Speaker 32: the county to resume negotiations where the previous contract expired
- 1:34:22Speaker 32: in September of last year. A new ferry service will
- 1:34:24Speaker 32: be carrying freight between Ohio and Canada.
- 1:34:27Speaker 31: Semis crossing Lake Erie. No, it's not a fairy tale.
- 1:34:31Speaker 31: It's in the works. The Port of Cleveland and Milo
- 1:34:34Speaker 31: Harbor Incorporated have signed a memo providing cargo service from
- 1:34:38Speaker 31: Northeast Ohio to Southern Ontario. Cleveland to Whitley, Ontario, to
- 1:34:42Speaker 31: be precise. The deal gets underway in 2028.
- 1:34:46Speaker 6: I'm Lee Malin.
- 1:34:47Speaker 32: Meantime, high school athletes in Ohio are entering a new
- 1:34:50Speaker 32: era as NIL opportunities continue to expand. Columbus' ABC6 On
- 1:34:54Speaker 32: Your Side's new series, NIL Kids, follows a two-sport athlete
- 1:34:57Speaker 32: and her family as they explore endorsement deals, eligibility rules,
- 1:35:00Speaker 32: and the decisions that come with cashing in on their
- 1:35:03Speaker 32: athletic success. The series features insight from NIL attorney Luke
- 1:35:06Speaker 32: Fedlum and OHSAA officials who explain the state's updated rules
- 1:35:10Speaker 32: designed to allow athletes to profit while protecting fair competition.
- 1:35:14Speaker 32: And Governor Mike DeWine says there is no immigration enforcement
- 1:35:17Speaker 32: surge planned in Ohio right now with the expiration of
- 1:35:20Speaker 32: temporary protected status for Haitian immigrants. DeWine shared the update yesterday,
- 1:35:24Speaker 32: saying he has heard from federal leaders who have confirmed
- 1:35:27Speaker 32: there are no raids in the works at this point.
- 1:35:29Speaker 6: I'm Brady Hopkins.

- 1:37:28Speaker 10: There is. Take any guesses?
- 1:37:31Speaker 2: Well, I'm going to go with my dear friend, James Melfi.
- 1:37:35Speaker 6: What's up, Ron?
- 1:37:37Speaker 2: Well, I'm going to tell you this much. Folks, I
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: don't know about you, but maybe the best legally speaking
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: TV segment that I've ever watched over these many years
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: just recently took place with Attorney Melfi on there. The young,
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: viral Attorney Melfi who brought the donuts.
- 1:37:58Speaker 6: I did bring the donuts and if you want to laugh,
- 1:38:04Speaker 6: I called my dad to see Because he was on
- 1:38:08Speaker 6: the news plenty of times. And he's like, hey, that's
- 1:38:11Speaker 6: not bad for your first time. I said, so what
- 1:38:14Speaker 6: you're telling me is you're qualifying it because it was
- 1:38:16Speaker 6: the first time, right? So it's not bad.
- 1:38:18Speaker 33: He's like, yeah, you're right. And then I hung up
- 1:38:20Speaker 33: on him.
- 1:38:21Speaker 6: But I don't know how David does that every Friday.
- 1:38:27Speaker 6: Because I slept with one eye open. because I was
- 1:38:30Speaker 6: convinced that I was going to sleep through it. I
- 1:38:34Speaker 6: was convinced.
- 1:38:35Speaker 33: I was convinced.
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what I mean? And I get it.
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: You're afraid to fall asleep because you'll sleep right through it.
- 1:38:42Speaker 2: But I don't know. Dave seems to go without sleep.
- 1:38:45Speaker 2: He's like Trump. He's one of these guys that doesn't
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: sleep a lot. I get that impression. Do you get
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: that impression?
- 1:38:50Speaker 6: I get that impression, and that's a pretty common thing
- 1:38:53Speaker 6: in our place anymore.
- 1:38:54Speaker 10: I did a trial with Dave. He literally... We'll be
- 1:38:57Speaker 10: texting ideas to, like, Frank and I at, like, 1
- 1:39:00Speaker 10: in the morning. So, no, this man does not sleep.
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: Right. So there you have it. But, you know, tell
- 1:39:06Speaker 2: your father that I thought you did a really fine job.
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: All right? Just pass that along to him.
- 1:39:11Speaker 33: I think I can do that, Ron.
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: You know, because your father and I are the same age.
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: Can you imagine that?
- 1:39:22Speaker 33: He's going to be the big 7-0.
- 1:39:23Speaker 6: No, he's not. No, he's not.
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: No, he's going to be 69 next year. I'm pretty
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: sure of that. You sure? I'm sure.
- 1:39:33Speaker 10: Who knows your dad better?
- 1:39:36Speaker 14: Ron.
- 1:39:37Speaker 6: My dad's in better shape than I am right now.
- 1:39:39Speaker 33: I'll give him that.
- 1:39:39Speaker 2: You should check with your father. You text your father.
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: I believe he's going to turn 69, not 70.
- 1:39:43Speaker 33: He'll probably text me in a few.
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: I'm going to go out on a limb for that
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: because I believe that him and I might be born
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: the same year. We shall see. You get to the
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: bottom of it, Melfi. We want answers.
- 1:40:00Speaker 33: It's 69. I already got the text.
- 1:40:02Speaker 2: See, there you go. There you go. I knew him
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: and I were born in the same year, and time
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: is moving fast for both of us, but you did
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: a fine job on there. You really did a good job.
- 1:40:15Speaker 2: Your dad was a master at it, though, so listen
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: to his advice. Take his advice. He always handled himself
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: well and came across well. You're blessed with good genes,
- 1:40:24Speaker 2: my son, good genes.
- 1:40:27Speaker 33: He did okay, and I appreciate it.
- 1:40:28Speaker 6: Yeah, the first thing I walked in, Steve goes.
- 1:40:31Speaker 33: I remember it and reading your dad in front of
- 1:40:33Speaker 33: your house, in front of a tree.
- 1:40:35Speaker 6: And you were there. And I'm like, I don't remember that,
- 1:40:37Speaker 6: but that was a long time ago.
- 1:40:38Speaker 33: He just sent me a text. It wasn't very nice.
- 1:40:41Speaker 6: I won't read it. I won't divulge that.
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: All right. Well, no, those are the ones we want
- 1:40:47Speaker 2: to divulge.
- 1:40:50Speaker 10: There was a choice word used in there to describe
- 1:40:52Speaker 10: Attorney Melfi.
- 1:40:55Speaker 6: That's all right.
- 1:40:57Speaker 33: Broads the shoulders that bears the cross, Ron, right?
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: What do you mean a choice word to describe Attorney Melfi?
- 1:41:03Speaker 6: A donkey.
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: Who would say such a thing? Who would say such
- 1:41:08Speaker 2: a thing?
- 1:41:08Speaker 6: He called me a donkey.
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: Or maybe me. All right, so here we go. With
- 1:41:17Speaker 2: our attorneys tonight, welcome to The Legal Show, and you're
- 1:41:19Speaker 2: on the air. Hello there.
- 1:41:21Speaker 9: Hello?
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: Yes, do you have a legal question?
- 1:41:23Speaker 13: Yes, I do, and I was surprised I get to
- 1:41:26Speaker 13: be first. Thank you.
- 1:41:27Speaker 24: You're welcome.
- 1:41:30Speaker 13: Mine is about an estate problem that my brother passed
- 1:41:35Speaker 13: away two years ago, and I'm an executor, and we've
- 1:41:41Speaker 13: dissolved all the other assets except the house. And my
- 1:41:45Speaker 13: problem is the next-door neighbor has interfered with all the
- 1:41:49Speaker 13: sales of the realtor showing the house by videotaping anybody
- 1:41:55Speaker 13: that they're showing it. She videotapes the people, their children,
- 1:41:59Speaker 13: their license plates, and their vehicles. And she does it, like,
- 1:42:02Speaker 13: from the street, or she has her car parked along
- 1:42:06Speaker 13: the side of the house, and she'll do it from
- 1:42:10Speaker 13: the car. And this intimidates people. anybody possible buying it.
- 1:42:14Speaker 13: This is our second realtor, and the only thing that
- 1:42:17Speaker 13: has happened so far is a trespassing where she was arrested.
- 1:42:23Speaker 13: We had it sold on April 2nd, and the buyer
- 1:42:28Speaker 13: sent out a surveyor for the bank, and she argued
- 1:42:33Speaker 13: with them, and she called the police, and they arrested
- 1:42:36Speaker 13: her because on other times of being called out there,
- 1:42:40Speaker 13: the police said not to be on the property and.
- 1:42:44Speaker 33: All of you call it about a month or two
- 1:42:46Speaker 33: ago about.
- 1:42:46Speaker 13: This yes i did but it was at the end
- 1:42:49Speaker 13: of the show but the problem still ongoing.
- 1:42:52Speaker 33: All day since i did you uh... make another police report.
- 1:42:56Speaker 13: There there there there is no and another police report
- 1:43:01Speaker 13: on the day that she called that and we've gone
- 1:43:04Speaker 13: to uh... over the extended date in and it happened uh...
- 1:43:11Speaker 13: She got a lawyer now, and so they asked for extensions.
- 1:43:15Speaker 13: I've gone to court three times in Camel Court, and
- 1:43:20Speaker 13: so far the judge has just postponed it or what
- 1:43:23Speaker 13: do you call it?
- 1:43:24Speaker 2: Reset it. There's a pretrial.
- 1:43:29Speaker 33: Pretrial.
- 1:43:31Speaker 13: Now, on September 4th, there is supposed to be a trial,
- 1:43:35Speaker 13: and also she's on probation for doing this to the
- 1:43:38Speaker 13: other neighbor on the other side of her home. And
- 1:43:42Speaker 13: she was arrested for that, and she's been on probation
- 1:43:47Speaker 13: for that. But they don't seem to do anything except probation.
- 1:43:52Speaker 6: She probably has a bond.
- 1:43:54Speaker 33: Yeah, it's a misdemeanor. She probably has a bond. But
- 1:43:57Speaker 33: I will tell you this.
- 1:43:59Speaker 6: You have to keep on showing up to court.
- 1:44:02Speaker 10: A lot of people just stop showing up because a
- 1:44:04Speaker 10: court process takes a really long time sometimes, and it's frustrating,
- 1:44:07Speaker 10: and it gets reset multiple, multiple times, and people just
- 1:44:11Speaker 10: get irritated and want to be done with it. But
- 1:44:12Speaker 10: if you want something to be done, Attorney Melfi's right.
- 1:44:16Speaker 10: Show up, keep showing up, keep fighting the good fight.
- 1:44:19Speaker 13: Okay, now I had my real leader show up a
- 1:44:21Speaker 13: couple times for this, and all they did was give
- 1:44:24Speaker 13: it another date, another time.
- 1:44:27Speaker 33: You know, the realtor, they have.
- 1:44:28Speaker 13: Feedback on what people had said when they, why they
- 1:44:32Speaker 13: didn't want to purchase this house.
- 1:44:35Speaker 33: It's like our house is blackballed.
- 1:44:38Speaker 13: You know, that they know about her causing trouble on
- 1:44:41Speaker 13: the other side because that neighbor has the same troubles.
- 1:44:47Speaker 13: They can't rent either. They can't sell.
- 1:44:50Speaker 2: This is a tough position to be in. I mean,
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: when you've got basically somebody that's got to be a real..
- 1:44:55Speaker 33: Pain in the donkey.
- 1:44:58Speaker 6: Yes. You have to keep showing up to court and
- 1:45:02Speaker 6: let the process play out.
- 1:45:04Speaker 13: But what can you do about a harassing person about that?
- 1:45:08Speaker 33: Did you ever file a civil protection order?
- 1:45:12Speaker 13: I went down to see the prosecutor on Tuesday, and
- 1:45:16Speaker 13: she mentioned doing that, but she had nobody in mind.
- 1:45:20Speaker 13: At one point, she did kill all the grass and
- 1:45:25Speaker 13: shrubs on the side by her house and saying it
- 1:45:28Speaker 13: was her property. And then I paid to have a surveyor.
- 1:45:32Speaker 13: It took me two surveyors. The first one she argued with,
- 1:45:35Speaker 13: and he ended up hanging up on me and wouldn't
- 1:45:37Speaker 13: do it. Then I had another person that surveyed it,
- 1:45:40Speaker 13: and she definitely was on our property. And she put
- 1:45:43Speaker 13: up this snow fence and stuff and no trespassing, but
- 1:45:46Speaker 13: it was on my brother's property.
- 1:45:50Speaker 33: Talyn, where do you get the protection? Is it the
- 1:45:53Speaker 33: clerk of courts you get the forms?
- 1:45:55Speaker 10: Because it's not DV. Yeah, you don't have DV. So
- 1:45:59Speaker 10: in order to have a civil protection order for DV,
- 1:46:02Speaker 10: you have to be in fear of imminent bodily harm.
- 1:46:04Speaker 10: I would say this is more..
- 1:46:05Speaker 6: It's civil, but there's stalking.
- 1:46:09Speaker 10: It's technically not stalking either. I would argue that it's
- 1:46:13Speaker 10: more of a nuisance, more than stalking.
- 1:46:15Speaker 33: It's harassment, but you could get a protective order, I believe.
- 1:46:18Speaker 33: There is a civil. Do you live in Mahoning or
- 1:46:21Speaker 33: Trumbull County?
- 1:46:22Speaker 13: I'm in Trumbull County, but this house is Mahoning County.
- 1:46:26Speaker 10: It's a separate process. So if it's DV, you go
- 1:46:30Speaker 10: down in the basement. If it's civil, I believe it's
- 1:46:32Speaker 10: the second floor.
- 1:46:33Speaker 6: I think it's in the clerk's office.
- 1:46:34Speaker 10: The second floor clerk's office, yeah.
- 1:46:36Speaker 6: I would call the Mahoning County clerk of courts. Clerk's office, yep.
- 1:46:40Speaker 6: And say, hey, I want to fill out the forms
- 1:46:44Speaker 6: for a protective order. It's not a domestic wherein the
- 1:46:48Speaker 6: courthouse has the forms. And you can go down and
- 1:46:52Speaker 6: fill them out yourself.
- 1:46:54Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:46:54Speaker 13: Now, is there a cost so I know that, I
- 1:46:57Speaker 13: don't know, they don't take checks?
- 1:46:59Speaker 10: No, there's no cost associated with that, ma'am. Just make
- 1:47:02Speaker 10: sure that you list every incident in your petition.
- 1:47:05Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:47:06Speaker 10: She will be serving.
- 1:47:07Speaker 13: Well, I have all these police records and stuff.
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: I'll take all these police times.
- 1:47:11Speaker 33: Bring the police reports.
- 1:47:12Speaker 6: You write a detailed narrative, and they'll set it for,
- 1:47:16Speaker 6: and you can check ex parte and then full hearing.
- 1:47:19Speaker 6: So an ex parte hearing means?
- 1:47:21Speaker 10: A one-party hearing.
- 1:47:22Speaker 33: A one-party hearing, exactly.
- 1:47:24Speaker 6: And you'll go in front of a magistrate and tell
- 1:47:27Speaker 6: them about the circumstances and what's going on, and they
- 1:47:31Speaker 6: could either grant it or deny it or set it
- 1:47:32Speaker 6: for a full hearing. But eventually there will be a
- 1:47:35Speaker 6: full hearing.
- 1:47:37Speaker 26: Okay, full hearing.
- 1:47:38Speaker 6: So that's what I would do tomorrow.
- 1:47:39Speaker 13: Well, I have to have my realtor bring the– I
- 1:47:44Speaker 13: know they don't like to show up for court because
- 1:47:46Speaker 13: they don't want to waste their time, but they do
- 1:47:48Speaker 13: have feedback from when they showed the house.
- 1:47:52Speaker 10: Not for the ex parte order, but you can always
- 1:47:54Speaker 10: subpoena them for the final. So they'll set a final
- 1:47:56Speaker 10: hearing within 10 days usually so the other party has
- 1:47:59Speaker 10: a right to be heard. For the civil, not for DV,
- 1:48:02Speaker 10: for the civil.
- 1:48:04Speaker 13: Now, what am I asking for? Am I asking for
- 1:48:06Speaker 13: the civil protection or what's the DV?
- 1:48:09Speaker 33: Civil protection order, not domestic violence. Correct.
- 1:48:15Speaker 10: It's technically called a civil stalking order in Mahoning County.
- 1:48:18Speaker 10: So you're going to go to the second? floor or
- 1:48:20Speaker 10: call the clerk of courts ask for the paperwork for
- 1:48:22Speaker 10: a civil stalking order they also i believe have it
- 1:48:25Speaker 10: online make sure you get the ex parte hearing explain
- 1:48:29Speaker 10: to the judge exactly what's going on and why you
- 1:48:31Speaker 10: feel as though you need this order then a hearing
- 1:48:34Speaker 10: will be set for 10 days and she'll be served,
- 1:48:38Speaker 10: and then she'll have the opportunity to be heard as well.
- 1:48:41Speaker 10: That's when you really bring in the evidence, because that
- 1:48:43Speaker 10: is an evidentiary hearing where you present your evidence, you
- 1:48:47Speaker 10: present witnesses. If you have them, you can subpoena them,
- 1:48:49Speaker 10: and then the defendant will have the opportunity to do
- 1:48:52Speaker 10: so as well.
- 1:48:54Speaker 13: Now, all this will take place in Mahoning County at
- 1:48:58Speaker 13: the big courthouse.
- 1:48:59Speaker 6: Big courthouse downtown. Yes, ma'am.
- 1:49:01Speaker 9: Yes, ma'am.
- 1:49:02Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:49:03Speaker 10: I wish you the best of luck.
- 1:49:05Speaker 13: Okay, well, thank you so much. I tried to scribble, though,
- 1:49:07Speaker 13: and write this down real quickly so I did the
- 1:49:09Speaker 13: right thing. I'll call the clerk of courts and see.
- 1:49:14Speaker 13: And it's called an ex parte hearing.
- 1:49:17Speaker 10: Well, it's a civil stalking protection order.
- 1:49:20Speaker 6: Sorry, go ahead, Jim. Yeah, not DV. Make sure you
- 1:49:22Speaker 6: tell them this is not a domestic violence case.
- 1:49:24Speaker 13: Civil stalking protection order.
- 1:49:27Speaker 10: Protection order. And the forms are either online. I believe
- 1:49:30Speaker 10: they're online. You can actually fill them out. But make
- 1:49:32Speaker 10: sure you ask for an ex parte hearing.
- 1:49:35Speaker 13: How do you spell expertise? How do you spell that?
- 1:49:37Speaker 2: It's Latin.
- 1:49:39Speaker 10: E-X-P-A-R-T-E. It just means one party. Everything's Latin in the
- 1:49:46Speaker 10: legal world.
- 1:49:47Speaker 13: And will that be on the form that I fill out?
- 1:49:49Speaker 9: Yes, ma'am.
- 1:49:50Speaker 10: There will be a little checkbox. I wish you the
- 1:49:52Speaker 10: best of luck. And if you need to call us,
- 1:49:54Speaker 10: you can ask for me, and I can re-over the
- 1:49:56Speaker 10: process with you, okay?
- 1:49:57Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:49:59Speaker 13: And what's the phone number there that I can.
- 1:50:01Speaker 2: Ask for you again?
- 1:50:03Speaker 33: I'm not sure, ma'am.
- 1:50:04Speaker 10: I'm so sorry.
- 1:50:05Speaker 2: All right, thanks. You're on air.
- 1:50:06Speaker 30: Hello?
- 1:50:09Speaker 6: Hi.
- 1:50:10Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:50:10Speaker 34: I have a quick one-sentence criminal question.
- 1:50:15Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: You sound like a criminal to me.
- 1:50:19Speaker 34: Yeah, I get that a lot. So one of them
- 1:50:23Speaker 34: would be, when is a good time not to waive
- 1:50:26Speaker 34: your rights? Because you go to court the next morning.
- 1:50:28Speaker 34: I'm not in that situation, but if I ever am, because,
- 1:50:31Speaker 34: you know, I'm older and can't defend myself and a
- 1:50:33Speaker 34: Second Amendment person, and I don't want to be in
- 1:50:35Speaker 34: trouble because I did something I shouldn't have done, you know?
- 1:50:40Speaker 9: Sorry, what's your question?
- 1:50:42Speaker 10: Waive your rights? What do you mean by that, sir?
- 1:50:44Speaker 6: I have no idea what you just said.
- 1:50:46Speaker 34: Because you get an option to waive your rights to
- 1:50:47Speaker 34: a speedy trial and a criminal trial, right? That's the
- 1:50:50Speaker 34: first thing they ask you if you want to waive
- 1:50:52Speaker 34: your rights.
- 1:50:52Speaker 7: Waive your right.
- 1:50:54Speaker 10: To a speedy trial. So everybody has a right to
- 1:50:57Speaker 10: have a trial quickly.
- 1:50:59Speaker 6: Meaning the state has to bring you to trial within
- 1:51:01Speaker 6: a certain amount of time depending on the severity of
- 1:51:03Speaker 6: the charge.
- 1:51:04Speaker 31: Correct.
- 1:51:05Speaker 10: But if there's discovery or things that are outstanding, a
- 1:51:08Speaker 10: lot of people waive that right. So that way they
- 1:51:12Speaker 10: can fully... do the investigation from start to finish, and
- 1:51:16Speaker 10: that gives their attorney the opportunity to review everything and
- 1:51:19Speaker 10: prepare for trial. Some cases, it is beneficial to waive
- 1:51:22Speaker 10: your right. In other cases, if you're trying to get
- 1:51:24Speaker 10: something done quickly or you need something done for your job,
- 1:51:26Speaker 10: it's not beneficial. So it really just depends on the case.
- 1:51:31Speaker 14: Okay, I was just curious.
- 1:51:32Speaker 34: The other one real quick, and again, it doesn't really
- 1:51:35Speaker 34: pertain to me, but we all go to lunch with
- 1:51:37Speaker 34: friends sometimes.
- 1:51:37Speaker 9: So say I have.
- 1:51:38Speaker 34: Two or three drinks, I'm on my way home, I
- 1:51:40Speaker 34: get stopped. Should I take the breathalyzer or should I just,
- 1:51:44Speaker 34: because I'm going to fail at three drinks.
- 1:51:46Speaker 7: You know, we all are.
- 1:51:48Speaker 34: So should I do that or should I just let
- 1:51:51Speaker 34: them prove it?
- 1:51:54Speaker 25: All right.
- 1:51:55Speaker 13: Okay.
- 1:51:57Speaker 10: Did you say drinks or drinks? Because I'm pretty sure
- 1:51:59Speaker 10: I heard three drinks.
- 1:51:59Speaker 6: Let me ask you, caller, are you going to pass
- 1:52:01Speaker 6: it now?
- 1:52:03Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:52:04Speaker 3: No, I'm good.
- 1:52:04Speaker 34: I'm at work right now. I don't even really drink, like,
- 1:52:07Speaker 34: a couple times a year.
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: You guys are hard on.
- 1:52:10Speaker 34: Me, and I didn't do anything. I had a couple
- 1:52:12Speaker 34: quick questions.
- 1:52:12Speaker 3: I'm not a criminal, and I'm not drunk.
- 1:52:14Speaker 33: Here's my advice on this.
- 1:52:18Speaker 2: I mean, you do sound like a criminal drunk to me, caller.
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: I'm just saying from my head.
- 1:52:21Speaker 6: Here's my advice to you is, Like David always says,
- 1:52:25Speaker 6: if you ever get pulled over, you've had a few drinks,
- 1:52:28Speaker 6: you be very polite. You comply with the officer. If
- 1:52:34Speaker 6: he says, sir, get out of the car. However, you
- 1:52:37Speaker 6: do not need to admit to drinking. You can refuse
- 1:52:40Speaker 6: the roadside field sobriety test. And guess what? There's about 100%
- 1:52:44Speaker 6: chance you'll get arrested anyway if you perform them, if
- 1:52:47Speaker 6: you don't. And don't take the breathalyzer.
- 1:52:51Speaker 10: But also maybe not have three drinks on your lunch break.
- 1:52:53Speaker 2: Isn't that an automatic suspension, though, if you don't take
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: the breathalyzer?
- 1:52:57Speaker 6: It's an automatic one-year suspension, but that's an administrative license suspension. Correct.
- 1:53:03Speaker 6: Once you get a lawyer, there are procedures in place
- 1:53:06Speaker 6: that that one-year suspension can be stayed and you can
- 1:53:10Speaker 6: get privileges within two weeks.
- 1:53:13Speaker 10: Like driving privileges to and from work, to the grocery store,
- 1:53:16Speaker 10: things like that.
- 1:53:18Speaker 8: Okay.
- 1:53:19Speaker 34: Okay, well, I'll try not to commit any crimes or
- 1:53:22Speaker 34: get drunk, but I was just curious because I hear
- 1:53:24Speaker 34: people asking those questions, and I wasn't going to know.
- 1:53:27Speaker 8: That's all.
- 1:53:27Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:53:28Speaker 2: It sounds to me like you're really asking from a
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: personal level. Do you frequently have heavy drinking at lunchtime?
- 1:53:34Speaker 6: Ron, he's asking for a friend.
- 1:53:35Speaker 33: Oh, he's asking for a friend.
- 1:53:36Speaker 10: For your friend.
- 1:53:38Speaker 34: Please tell him on his lunch break, don't have a.
- 1:53:41Speaker 10: Beer, and then drive and return to work.
- 1:53:42Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:53:42Speaker 10: That's what I asked. But tell your friend we said hi, okay?
- 1:53:45Speaker 6: Thanks.
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 1:53:46Speaker 6: Maybe I want to hang out with this friend.
- 1:53:48Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 1:53:48Speaker 10: Not during lunch.
- 1:53:49Speaker 33: Maybe not during lunch.
- 1:53:50Speaker 10: Maybe you need to drive him.
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: That takes you back to your college year, Smelfie, and
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: I don't think you want to go through those again.
- 1:53:56Speaker 10: We both went to the same college. We really did
- 1:53:58Speaker 10: have a good time.
- 1:53:59Speaker 6: I'd cut my pinky off to do six months.
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: Would you really?
- 1:54:03Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 1:54:04Speaker 10: I'd probably cut off the tip.
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: You wouldn't mean to go back to it?
- 1:54:08Speaker 33: For six months?
- 1:54:09Speaker 10: Oh, my gosh. Miami is so fun, Ron. Me and Jimmy,
- 1:54:13Speaker 10: we should take Ron to Green Beer Day. We're going
- 1:54:15Speaker 10: to take you to Green Beer Day. It's just going
- 1:54:17Speaker 10: to happen.
- 1:54:18Speaker 33: Ron, you ever start drinking beers at 1 o'clock in
- 1:54:19Speaker 33: the morning?
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: One o'clock in the morning.
- 1:54:22Speaker 10: Until one o'clock the next day.
- 1:54:24Speaker 2: Absolutely not. Absolutely not.
- 1:54:27Speaker 6: Oh, come on.
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: No.
- 1:54:29Speaker 10: Listen here.
- 1:54:30Speaker 2: That's absolutely not. All right. You're on the air with
- 1:54:35Speaker 2: these troublemakers.
- 1:54:37Speaker 4: Hello.
- 1:54:38Speaker 7: Hello, troublemakers.
- 1:54:40Speaker 21: I have a question on if your neighbor's tree is
- 1:54:44Speaker 21: hanging over on your property and And I know the
- 1:54:47Speaker 21: gold standard would be to send a certified letter, but
- 1:54:50Speaker 21: in being cordial with the neighbor, if I have it
- 1:54:53Speaker 21: in a text message to them, all of my concerns,
- 1:54:57Speaker 21: does that suffice that if something would fall down and
- 1:55:01Speaker 21: damage something on my property, I could present that and
- 1:55:05Speaker 21: their insurance would cover it?
- 1:55:08Speaker 8: No.
- 1:55:08Speaker 6: It's not.
- 1:55:09Speaker 33: It's sufficient.
- 1:55:10Speaker 10: I would say you could produce it as evidence, but
- 1:55:13Speaker 10: it's not like cold ironclad.
- 1:55:15Speaker 6: Yeah, typically if a tree falls and the tree is
- 1:55:18Speaker 6: on your neighbor's property but falls on yours and damages
- 1:55:21Speaker 6: your property, your homeowners will pay. However, unless the homeowner
- 1:55:30Speaker 6: has noticed by some arborist that this tree is going
- 1:55:33Speaker 6: to fall, then, you know.
- 1:55:36Speaker 21: Well, it's got some dead limbs from the storms, and
- 1:55:40Speaker 21: one of the dead limbs is.
- 1:55:41Speaker 24: Hanging directly over where we park our cars.
- 1:55:45Speaker 10: So what I do, because I'm a nice neighbor and
- 1:55:47Speaker 10: I live in the middle of the woods, if it
- 1:55:49Speaker 10: is a branch from my tree and it's on my
- 1:55:52Speaker 10: neighbor's property, obviously I walk my butt across the lot
- 1:55:55Speaker 10: and I go get those tree branches, but everybody's not
- 1:55:57Speaker 10: so nice. If it's a really big branch and you
- 1:56:01Speaker 10: can't carry it yourself, I mean, you can always be,
- 1:56:03Speaker 10: I mean, first start and ask.
- 1:56:05Speaker 6: You can't cut down your neighbor's tree.
- 1:56:07Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:56:08Speaker 6: Bad idea.
- 1:56:09Speaker 10: Well, you can't cut it, but if it's like, you know,
- 1:56:11Speaker 10: you can just say, hey, is there any way you
- 1:56:13Speaker 10: can remove this? I can't get into my driveway.
- 1:56:17Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:56:17Speaker 24: But best thing would be to send a certified letter.
- 1:56:20Speaker 9: I just wanted to be more.
- 1:56:22Speaker 6: Send them a certified letter. And, Ron, you may or
- 1:56:25Speaker 6: may not know this. If you cut down somebody's tree wrongfully.
- 1:56:29Speaker 6: and say that tree was worth $ 5, 000, it's triple damages.
- 1:56:32Speaker 10: It's not a good time, so don't cut down their tree.
- 1:56:34Speaker 26: Wow.
- 1:56:35Speaker 10: But if it lands on your property, they should remove it,
- 1:56:38Speaker 10: but they probably won't. You are liable. I'm just a
- 1:56:41Speaker 10: nice neighbor.
- 1:56:42Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:56:42Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:56:43Speaker 9: Okay.
- 1:56:43Speaker 26: Thank you.
- 1:56:44Speaker 2: Good luck. Thank you. You know what I mean? And
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: never damage the family tree is what I say when
- 1:56:50Speaker 2: it comes to trees. When it comes to the family tree,
- 1:56:53Speaker 2: above all else, Tali, you should know how old your
- 1:56:56Speaker 2: father's turning on his birthday today. And not be close,
- 1:56:59Speaker 2: but be right on the money. Would you not agree, Tally?
- 1:57:02Speaker 10: I just think that's just very good for families.
- 1:57:03Speaker 6: I remember the caller from two months ago.
- 1:57:05Speaker 2: I just don't want to know my dad is old.
- 1:57:08Speaker 2: He's going to turn 70 soon. I mean, he's not
- 1:57:11Speaker 2: going to turn 70. He's going to turn 69. Why
- 1:57:13Speaker 2: are you rushing him along?
- 1:57:15Speaker 33: I don't want to know.
- 1:57:16Speaker 10: Wouldn't it be hilarious, Ron, if Jimmy and his wife
- 1:57:19Speaker 10: would have thrown his father a 70th birthday party? And
- 1:57:22Speaker 10: he's like, I'm not even 70. That would have been
- 1:57:24Speaker 10: so funny. We should do that for Dave.
- 1:57:26Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:57:27Speaker 10: Yes.
- 1:57:28Speaker 2: Throw him one of those. And take my advice. You
- 1:57:32Speaker 2: want to throw it at, I don't know if you've
- 1:57:34Speaker 2: ever been to this place called Leo's. I think she'd
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: love going there, Jim. I think she would love it.
- 1:57:39Speaker 2: And I actually ate Leo's last night.
- 1:57:42Speaker 6: It was wonderful.
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. But, you know, I don't think she gets
- 1:57:44Speaker 2: there very often. She'd probably like you to take her
- 1:57:47Speaker 2: out once in a while to go to Leo's, right?
- 1:57:49Speaker 6: Yeah, she doesn't get out very often at all. She's
- 1:57:51Speaker 6: home rearing the children. And, yeah, when she gets out,
- 1:57:55Speaker 6: that's where she loves to go.
- 1:57:56Speaker 2: Right, right, right. All right.
- 1:57:58Speaker 3: See you.
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: I'm almost like psychic here, Jimmy. I know this kind
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: of stuff, so you can't keep it from me. You're
- 1:58:03Speaker 2: on the air. Hello.
- 1:58:05Speaker 26: Hi.
- 1:58:06Speaker 14: Can you hear me?
- 1:58:07Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:58:08Speaker 2: I got a copy.
- 1:58:08Speaker 22: How can we help you?
- 1:58:10Speaker 25: Okay. Well, we had an experience the other night. My
- 1:58:14Speaker 25: grandson's in from Georgia, and he wanted to treat me
- 1:58:18Speaker 25: to going to see the Pirates game. And he did
- 1:58:23Speaker 25: all the arranging of everything, and we got an Uber. Now,
- 1:58:26Speaker 25: I've never driven in an Uber before. And anyway, neither
- 1:58:30Speaker 25: has he. So long story short, we basically, and I
- 1:58:35Speaker 25: am not kidding here, took our life into our own hands.
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: Now, hang on a second here. I've got to pause
- 1:58:42Speaker 2: for my headlines. I want you to hang on because
- 1:58:44Speaker 2: I want to hear this story, okay? Can you hang on?
- 1:58:46Speaker 2: I've got to get the headlines out of the way.
- 1:58:48Speaker 2: This should be interesting. She almost took her life in
- 1:58:51Speaker 2: her own hands. I can hardly wait. First the headlines,
- 1:58:54Speaker 2: then we're back with The Legal Show, courtesy of Beatrice Kopp.
- 1:58:56Speaker 2: Stay tuned. More to come in just a minute.
- 1:59:01Speaker 1: Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 1:59:10Speaker 2: All righty, we are back with our attorneys tonight. NewsRadio
- 1:59:13Speaker 2: 570 WKBN. This is The Legal Show brought to you
- 1:59:16Speaker 2: by Beatrice Kopp and Attorney James Melfi. And Tally joins us,
- 1:59:22Speaker 2: as always. And let's go back to this caller. So
- 1:59:24Speaker 2: you called an Uber, I think you said, right, ma'am? Yes. Okay,
- 1:59:29Speaker 2: tell the story to our attorneys now.
- 1:59:31Speaker 7: Okay.
- 1:59:32Speaker 25: First of all, it was supposed to come like 20
- 1:59:34Speaker 25: after 4. The game was like 640. And, you know,
- 1:59:39Speaker 25: they kept on saying, you know, we'll be there. And
- 1:59:41Speaker 25: they changed the time like three times on us. They
- 1:59:43Speaker 25: got there about, she, the woman, got there about quarter
- 1:59:46Speaker 25: to 5. They give you, this is my first experience.
- 1:59:51Speaker 25: So my grandson gave her the code word. And anyway,
- 1:59:56Speaker 25: so we're on our way there. something has to be
- 2:00:00Speaker 25: done with the way they do these Ubers because she
- 2:00:05Speaker 25: was on her phone. She got three or four personal
- 2:00:08Speaker 25: calls while driving. We got lost. She didn't know where
- 2:00:14Speaker 25: the stadium was. She went off the road about three
- 2:00:20Speaker 25: or four times. You know, when you, that makes the
- 2:00:22Speaker 25: noise when your car is going off, you know, it
- 2:00:26Speaker 25: makes those, the sound that happens three or four times
- 2:00:30Speaker 25: in a row. And she said it was because the
- 2:00:32Speaker 25: semis on the left of her were too close. Um,
- 2:00:36Speaker 25: I asked her in the car, you know, how long
- 2:00:37Speaker 25: she's been doing this, just making small talk. And I
- 2:00:40Speaker 25: thought she said two years, but my grandson said, no,
- 2:00:44Speaker 25: she said two weeks. Um, anyway, it was very scary. She,
- 2:00:50Speaker 25: we didn't know how to get there. We should have
- 2:00:52Speaker 25: researched ourselves. I'm, you know, like I said, first experience
- 2:00:55Speaker 25: lesson learned, but, um, She had to hurry up and
- 2:01:00Speaker 25: swerve into the other lane to get off the exit
- 2:01:02Speaker 25: on the left side. She almost hit a barrier. I mean,
- 2:01:07Speaker 25: like there was like a barrier where you make your
- 2:01:11Speaker 25: left turn and then you go right.
- 2:01:12Speaker 24: She almost hit that.
- 2:01:14Speaker 25: My grandson and I was behind her on the driver's side.
- 2:01:18Speaker 25: My grandson was on the passenger side in the back seat,
- 2:01:21Speaker 25: and he could see more than I could see. She
- 2:01:23Speaker 25: needed a break. Service light was on.
- 2:01:27Speaker 8: Low gas.
- 2:01:28Speaker 25: She ran out. She was running.
- 2:01:31Speaker 10: Did you rate her on the Uber app? Did you
- 2:01:34Speaker 10: give her a one star?
- 2:01:37Speaker 25: Well, she was rated five stars. She'd only been doing this.
- 2:01:39Speaker 25: She said she did Uber Eats and now she's doing
- 2:01:41Speaker 25: Uber Fares. Had never been to this Pittsburgh Pirate Stadium.
- 2:01:46Speaker 24: We went.
- 2:01:47Speaker 25: She took us like five. probably 30 to 40 minutes out.
- 2:01:51Speaker 7: Of the way.
- 2:01:52Speaker 25: We had a backtrack. We got there a third inning.
- 2:01:54Speaker 25: I mean, it was very scary. She almost wrecked a
- 2:01:56Speaker 25: couple of times.
- 2:01:57Speaker 2: You know what Tali's asking you is rate her and
- 2:01:59Speaker 2: give her a bad review.
- 2:02:01Speaker 33: Yeah, but there's going.
- 2:02:02Speaker 13: To be more.
- 2:02:03Speaker 25: There has to be more protection.
- 2:02:05Speaker 10: Let Jimmy explain.
- 2:02:08Speaker 2: Notify Uber, right, Tally?
- 2:02:10Speaker 6: We did.
- 2:02:13Speaker 25: My grandson got on there.
- 2:02:14Speaker 3: He called.
- 2:02:15Speaker 25: It's very, very hard to get through these people. He
- 2:02:17Speaker 25: started talking about the experience and they basically shut him off.
- 2:02:21Speaker 25: They hung up on him.
- 2:02:23Speaker 2: Wow.
- 2:02:24Speaker 6: I'm going to assume it is your last Uber ride.
- 2:02:25Speaker 6: I'm also going to tell you the law is in
- 2:02:37Speaker 6: favor of Uber and not the passenger. Correct. All Uber
- 2:02:42Speaker 6: drivers are independent contractors, so you can't get to Uber
- 2:02:46Speaker 6: if an Uber driver causes an accident in saying that
- 2:02:50Speaker 6: they're working on behalf of the company. They're classified as
- 2:02:52Speaker 6: independent contractors. The other problem you have, and I run
- 2:02:56Speaker 6: into this frequently, is a lot of Uber drivers do
- 2:03:01Speaker 6: not have business coverage on their vehicle. So if you're
- 2:03:06Speaker 6: using like typical Uber drivers, a personal vehicle to handle
- 2:03:10Speaker 6: Uber rides, there's a business exception to it. And if
- 2:03:13Speaker 6: you're driving for Uber, their insurance won't cover it. So
- 2:03:18Speaker 6: what I'm going to tell you is, and personally, I've
- 2:03:23Speaker 6: been in a lot of Ubers and I get a
- 2:03:25Speaker 6: little car sick in the small cars. I only get
- 2:03:28Speaker 6: the I either do the XL or the black anymore.
- 2:03:34Speaker 10: Because those are better.
- 2:03:35Speaker 33: Drivers and they have insurance.
- 2:03:39Speaker 10: It'll stay on there. They're more expensive, but honestly, it's
- 2:03:41Speaker 10: worth it for your state of mind and your safety.
- 2:03:45Speaker 6: How did you get back? Just out of curiosity.
- 2:03:47Speaker 10: Did you ride in an Uber?
- 2:03:50Speaker 25: Another guy picked us up. He was wonderful. I mean,
- 2:03:53Speaker 25: he had the phone where you're looking at it. He
- 2:03:56Speaker 25: wasn't holding it in his hands. She was constantly typing
- 2:03:59Speaker 25: in things on the computer part of her dashboard. I mean,
- 2:04:03Speaker 25: he was wonderful. I mean, it was a little scary
- 2:04:05Speaker 25: because he went the back roads. She went through the
- 2:04:09Speaker 25: turnpike tolls. She was complaining because now she has to
- 2:04:11Speaker 25: pay tolls. I mean, it was a nightmare. I'm just
- 2:04:14Speaker 25: glad we were praising God left and right that we
- 2:04:16Speaker 25: got home, that we got there safely. I am not exaggerating.
- 2:04:21Speaker 25: Her car was dirty. I mean, that's beside the point.
- 2:04:23Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you something as you go on.
- 2:04:26Speaker 2: I do disagree with her on one thing. Usually when
- 2:04:28Speaker 2: you notify them of the car, they are done with
- 2:04:34Speaker 2: that person for driving with them. I mean, I've never
- 2:04:37Speaker 2: heard of an experience like this. I know people that
- 2:04:41Speaker 2: have done that, and they discontinue using that particular person.
- 2:04:45Speaker 6: And I have a serious question is, are we sure
- 2:04:48Speaker 6: David wasn't in a disguise and was the first Uber
- 2:04:50Speaker 6: driver telling me the thing is beeping?
- 2:04:52Speaker 2: That was my thoughts. Yeah. Okay, dear. Good luck. Good
- 2:04:58Speaker 2: luck to you. I mean, oh, I mean, she can
- 2:05:01Speaker 2: just leave a bad review, right? I mean, that's a
- 2:05:05Speaker 2: bad review.
- 2:05:05Speaker 10: Get your money back and do your research for the
- 2:05:07Speaker 10: next one. Make sure that you have a good driver,
- 2:05:09Speaker 10: one that has insurance and one that's rated and been
- 2:05:12Speaker 10: doing it.
- 2:05:12Speaker 6: For a while. That's why you've to, you've, To pay
- 2:05:14Speaker 6: the extra few bucks and you get the XL. The XL. Mm-hmm.
- 2:05:20Speaker 2: So keep it all in mind. That's what you got
- 2:05:22Speaker 2: to do. All right. So legal questions, pick up the phone,
- 2:05:25Speaker 2: give us a call. I had the same thought you did.
- 2:05:27Speaker 2: Was Dave Beatrice driving? Because it sounds like, you know,
- 2:05:30Speaker 2: his car was a mess and he was going fast
- 2:05:32Speaker 2: and he was on the phone and he was running
- 2:05:34Speaker 2: out of gas.
- 2:05:35Speaker 33: Running out of gas, riding in the rumble strip.
- 2:05:38Speaker 6: He would be the worst Uber driver of all time.
- 2:05:41Speaker 10: I literally pull in to go into work, and I
- 2:05:44Speaker 10: see his car door wide open, it's beeping, and his
- 2:05:47Speaker 10: cell phone's in there. But David is not anywhere to
- 2:05:50Speaker 10: be seen.
- 2:05:52Speaker 6: You missed it. Frank, I was coming back with Frank
- 2:05:55Speaker 6: from somewhere, and we parked in David's spot, but we
- 2:05:58Speaker 6: parked crooked, and we pushed it up against the front door.
- 2:06:01Speaker 6: I thought David was going to have a meltdown.
- 2:06:04Speaker 10: I'm sure he was panicking.
- 2:06:06Speaker 33: Ron, what do you think about Frank parking in his spot?
- 2:06:09Speaker 2: Parking in Dave's spot?
- 2:06:10Speaker 21: Yeah.
- 2:06:11Speaker 2: Well, let me tell you something. I don't have a
- 2:06:12Speaker 2: problem with it because, you know, Frank, a.k.a. the young
- 2:06:15Speaker 2: Frank Sinatra, but in this case, I mean, Frank's on
- 2:06:20Speaker 2: a winning streak, and I think Frank should have a
- 2:06:22Speaker 2: premier parking spot because of how good he's doing.
- 2:06:25Speaker 6: I mean, that's like stealing somebody's lunch out of their hand.
- 2:06:28Speaker 6: The guy's been parking there for 20 years, and Frank
- 2:06:30Speaker 6: just says, I'm parking here now. What are you going
- 2:06:31Speaker 6: to do.
- 2:06:33Speaker 2: About it? Frank's a man. You know what I mean?
- 2:06:37Speaker 6: I wouldn't mess with him.
- 2:06:39Speaker 2: I mean, it's how I view things. I mean, Frank
- 2:06:42Speaker 2: is a man. What can I say? I mean, that's
- 2:06:45Speaker 2: how I view things. I don't know what else to say.
- 2:06:48Speaker 33: I see it the same way you do.
- 2:06:50Speaker 10: I did tell Frank he was on my bad list, Ron.
- 2:06:53Speaker 10: He sent me to a client in federal prison, and
- 2:06:58Speaker 10: I was in a dress, and I didn't know you
- 2:06:59Speaker 10: couldn't wear dresses, and I almost had to.
- 2:07:00Speaker 6: You went to the private prison.
- 2:07:02Speaker 10: Well, I almost had to wear a pair of their pants.
- 2:07:04Speaker 6: Well, then I explained to you the core civic, and.
- 2:07:07Speaker 10: I just wish somebody would have told me. So I
- 2:07:09Speaker 10: told Frank, I said, you've got to let me know
- 2:07:11Speaker 10: these things before I just show up.
- 2:07:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:07:15Speaker 2: You know, you could have asked me. I've never been
- 2:07:17Speaker 2: to the prison, but I would say, Tally, you're wearing
- 2:07:20Speaker 2: a dress, dress pants, not a dress to a prison.
- 2:07:23Speaker 2: That kind of goes without saying, doesn't it, Jim?
- 2:07:26Speaker 10: I was in court.
- 2:07:27Speaker 6: I'm not going to comment on this.
- 2:07:29Speaker 33: You know what?
- 2:07:29Speaker 6: I don't.
- 2:07:30Speaker 2: I mean, in all reality. Remember that first time you
- 2:07:35Speaker 2: went to the prison? That's back during your cross-dressing days, Melfi,
- 2:07:39Speaker 2: and you were wearing a dress. You probably wore a
- 2:07:42Speaker 2: dress your first time, too. Or was that a Scottish kilt?
- 2:07:45Speaker 2: Was it St. Patrick's Day? Maybe it wasn't a dress.
- 2:07:47Speaker 6: Ron, you know I have a vow at the end
- 2:07:49Speaker 6: of my name.
- 2:07:51Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, I do. Okay. I was just checking on you, buddy.
- 2:07:55Speaker 6: That's all.
- 2:07:56Speaker 2: I didn't know what that was all about.
- 2:07:59Speaker 28: All right.

- 2:08:43Speaker 4: 330-729-9977.
- 2:08:43Speaker 2: We'll get you through to us. 330-729-9977. And I will
- 2:08:57Speaker 2: get you on the air pretty quick here, and I'll
- 2:09:00Speaker 2: get our attorneys to answer your question. Where else do
- 2:09:02Speaker 2: you get great service like that other than right here
- 2:09:04Speaker 2: at NewsRadio 570 at ODKVN? All right, so let's see
- 2:09:08Speaker 2: what awaits me here. You're on the air. Hello, do
- 2:09:11Speaker 2: you have a legal question?
- 2:09:13Speaker 35: Well, to defend Dave Beatrice driving the Uber, he has
- 2:09:17Speaker 35: many dinghies he's got to repair.
- 2:09:19Speaker 7: So he needs the extra money.
- 2:09:22Speaker 35: But the woman, the woman that had the bad Uber drive.
- 2:09:27Speaker 4: Yes.
- 2:09:28Speaker 35: I have a bad Uber driver in, I think it
- 2:09:30Speaker 35: was Texas one time. He let me sit in the
- 2:09:33Speaker 35: front seat. He was on his phone and I had
- 2:09:37Speaker 35: to warn him that the traffic was completely stopped in
- 2:09:41Speaker 35: front of me.
- 2:09:42Speaker 12: So I think people should be aware of, you know,
- 2:09:45Speaker 12: what they're.
- 2:09:46Speaker 7: Dealing with, with these Uber drivers.
- 2:09:49Speaker 35: And, uh, Tell Dave, you know, show up for the
- 2:09:52Speaker 35: show once in a while.
- 2:09:54Speaker 33: All right. It's the summer, and he's happy, and he's
- 2:09:59Speaker 33: on his boat, and the best part is he's not
- 2:10:01Speaker 33: calling us.
- 2:10:03Speaker 2: Yeah, so far, so good.
- 2:10:05Speaker 6: I will say I've had some great Uber experiences, maybe
- 2:10:07Speaker 6: like four or five months ago, ordering Uber, and I
- 2:10:10Speaker 6: didn't get a big one.
- 2:10:13Speaker 33: Ron, you ever see Cheech and Chong?
- 2:10:15Speaker 34: Yes.
- 2:10:16Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely.
- 2:10:17Speaker 33: I get in the backseat of this thing.
- 2:10:20Speaker 6: I'm right in Cheech and Chong.
- 2:10:21Speaker 33: I'm like, just give me the dinner, please.
- 2:10:26Speaker 2: That's all you ask, right? It's like, please, please get
- 2:10:30Speaker 2: me there. Dave is a guy that is doing a
- 2:10:34Speaker 2: million things at once. I mean, that's what his problem is.
- 2:10:38Speaker 2: Wait a second. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Dave's got to
- 2:10:41Speaker 2: learn to focus when he's driving, and he doesn't do that.
- 2:10:45Speaker 2: And I would say that's probably his biggest problem to
- 2:10:48Speaker 2: a large extent. But, you know, people love when Dave
- 2:10:51Speaker 2: comes on. He just talks about the life of Dave,
- 2:10:54Speaker 2: if you will, and the stuff that he's going through.
- 2:10:57Speaker 6: It's all self-induced.
- 2:11:00Speaker 10: I don't agree. I think some of it's just really
- 2:11:02Speaker 10: bad freaking luck.
- 2:11:04Speaker 8: Yes.
- 2:11:04Speaker 33: You're telling me somebody has that bad of a luck.
- 2:11:06Speaker 6: All the time?
- 2:11:07Speaker 14: Yes.
- 2:11:07Speaker 2: I've known him..
- 2:11:08Speaker 10: I think it's a good mix.
- 2:11:09Speaker 2: I've known him longer than you guys have probably been alive,
- 2:11:12Speaker 2: I hate to say. And this is his life. This
- 2:11:15Speaker 2: is absolutely how he has been the entire time I've
- 2:11:20Speaker 2: known him. This stuff has happened to him. And frankly,
- 2:11:23Speaker 2: he never started revealing it to the public until he
- 2:11:25Speaker 2: started talking about it on the program. And then people
- 2:11:30Speaker 2: started to become more and more fascinated with it. I'd
- 2:11:32Speaker 2: get all types of emails saying, about is Dave going
- 2:11:35Speaker 2: to be on and how people loved when Dave was
- 2:11:36Speaker 2: talking about the world of Dave.
- 2:11:39Speaker 10: His life is crazy.
- 2:11:40Speaker 2: And now he's embraced the video world of it with
- 2:11:44Speaker 2: his Facebook followers that are saying now Dave has taken
- 2:11:47Speaker 2: what he's done on the radio and he's taken it
- 2:11:49Speaker 2: to the video. On Facebook, or is it TikTok? I
- 2:11:52Speaker 2: thought it was Facebook.
- 2:11:53Speaker 10: He does it all.
- 2:11:55Speaker 33: TikTok has perfect for his attention span, 15 seconds.
- 2:11:58Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:11:58Speaker 31: TikTok, Instagram, Facebook.
- 2:12:01Speaker 2: He's telling all of these stories when he's in Chicago
- 2:12:04Speaker 2: with the young Frank Sinatra, if you will. I'm seeing,
- 2:12:08Speaker 2: you know, Frank Cassis, I meant to say. And there
- 2:12:12Speaker 2: are adventures that are there. I mean, where else can
- 2:12:15Speaker 2: you see a picture? Dave has sent me a video
- 2:12:18Speaker 2: of his car with a flat tire. I mean, and
- 2:12:20Speaker 2: he's trying to get to court. It's really interesting. All right,
- 2:12:23Speaker 2: back to it with our attorneys. You're on the air.
- 2:12:25Speaker 6: Welcome.
- 2:12:26Speaker 2: Hello.
- 2:12:27Speaker 5: Yes, sir.
- 2:12:28Speaker 14: How are you doing?
- 2:12:28Speaker 10: Good.
- 2:12:29Speaker 2: What's your question?
- 2:12:31Speaker 14: My question or what I want to understand is the AI.
- 2:12:37Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:12:39Speaker 14: How much are our students going to be paying for this?
- 2:12:43Speaker 2: How much is what?
- 2:12:46Speaker 14: How much are our students going to be paying for this?
- 2:12:50Speaker 14: You get these in your communities and stuff.
- 2:12:53Speaker 6: The data centers?
- 2:12:55Speaker 2: That's not really a legal question. We wouldn't know the
- 2:13:00Speaker 2: answer to that. We don't know. You're on the air.
- 2:13:02Speaker 2: Wait a second. You're on the air.
- 2:13:04Speaker 4: Hello.
- 2:13:05Speaker 5: Hello?
- 2:13:06Speaker 9: Yes.
- 2:13:07Speaker 8: Oh, hi.
- 2:13:08Speaker 26: I didn't know it was my turn. Okay. I have
- 2:13:12Speaker 26: a boundary issue with my neighbor.
- 2:13:16Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:13:17Speaker 26: He said that the... The boundaries were a certain position,
- 2:13:23Speaker 26: and I was led to believe that when I purchased
- 2:13:28Speaker 26: the land, the real estate agent gave me the footage
- 2:13:32Speaker 26: of my land.
- 2:13:33Speaker 2: Stand by for one minute. Right, just stand by. I've
- 2:13:35Speaker 2: got to do a one-minute break. I'll come right back
- 2:13:37Speaker 2: to you. Back with The Legal Show in 60 seconds.
- 2:13:46Speaker 2: All right, back to your question. You got a property
- 2:13:49Speaker 2: line dispute, ma'am? Wait a second. Are you there? Where
- 2:13:56Speaker 2: did she go? Let me put her. Let's see if
- 2:13:59Speaker 2: that was her. Are you there?
- 2:14:02Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 2:14:03Speaker 2: Well, I'm not talking about AI. All right. I want
- 2:14:11Speaker 2: to find that other woman. All right, I'm going to
- 2:14:13Speaker 2: click you off again. You're on the air.
- 2:14:15Speaker 6: Story of your life, Ron.
- 2:14:17Speaker 2: I know. I'm always taking somebody off. But at least
- 2:14:21Speaker 2: when my father was alive, I knew what year he
- 2:14:22Speaker 2: was turning 70.
- 2:14:23Speaker 33: I was saying finding the other woman. I said story
- 2:14:25Speaker 33: of your life.
- 2:14:27Speaker 2: There you go. I'm always looking.
- 2:14:29Speaker 5: All right.
- 2:14:30Speaker 2: Are you there, caller? Let me try one more time.
- 2:14:32Speaker 2: I apologize. I think I lost my connection. All right, well,
- 2:14:37Speaker 2: you're going to have to call me back, dear, because
- 2:14:39Speaker 2: somehow I screwed things up on your property line dispute.
- 2:14:43Speaker 2: Call me back, 330-729-9977. We'll get you through to us,
- 2:14:47Speaker 2: and I'll try to get you on as quickly as
- 2:14:49Speaker 2: I can. 330-729-9977. We'll get you through to us as
- 2:14:54Speaker 2: these lines ring. Let me see. You're on the air.
- 2:14:58Speaker 7: Yes.
- 2:14:58Speaker 2: All right. This guy and his AI question is going
- 2:15:03Speaker 2: to drive me right up the wall. What am I
- 2:15:06Speaker 2: supposed to do, Melfi? I'm right on the edge of
- 2:15:08Speaker 2: a nervous breakdown.
- 2:15:09Speaker 33: You can listen to my segment on AI, maybe like Monday.
- 2:15:13Speaker 10: Do what Dave does. Go for a cold plunge.
- 2:15:16Speaker 2: Oh, no, that's absolute insanity to do that kind of stuff.
- 2:15:18Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 2:15:21Speaker 33: He's always curly hairs behind.
- 2:15:23Speaker 2: So Frank has taken over Dave's parking spot. Do you
- 2:15:26Speaker 2: think Frank is in the wrong?
- 2:15:29Speaker 6: No, I love it.
- 2:15:30Speaker 33: I encourage it because I love the banter.
- 2:15:34Speaker 2: So does it say reserve parking for attorney David Beatrice?
- 2:15:37Speaker 2: Is it marked?
- 2:15:38Speaker 10: No, we just all kind of have spots that we see.
- 2:15:41Speaker 33: It's an understood rule.
- 2:15:42Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 2:15:43Speaker 6: But I love the conflict. I love the constant conflict
- 2:15:46Speaker 6: between Frank and David.
- 2:15:47Speaker 2: And the tension?
- 2:15:48Speaker 33: Because I get amusement from it.
- 2:15:49Speaker 10: Yeah, it entertains the rest of the people in the office.
- 2:15:52Speaker 2: Right. So, I mean, are you working on the 2027
- 2:15:54Speaker 2: Beatrice calendar?
- 2:15:57Speaker 33: His swimsuit calendar?
- 2:15:59Speaker 6: Yes. That's what I should do. I should do a
- 2:16:01Speaker 6: swimsuit calendar for him.
- 2:16:02Speaker 2: Yeah, when he's up on the yacht, get some pictures
- 2:16:04Speaker 2: of him, yeah.
- 2:16:05Speaker 6: I could.
- 2:16:06Speaker 10: We can message Pam and see if she can assist.
- 2:16:09Speaker 2: You think she would be in on the conspiracy that
- 2:16:11Speaker 2: we could do? I mean, would she go along with it?
- 2:16:14Speaker 2: That's the question.
- 2:16:15Speaker 8: Maybe.
- 2:16:16Speaker 6: Perhaps.
- 2:16:17Speaker 5: For him.
- 2:16:18Speaker 2: We just got to send somebody up undercover. Like when
- 2:16:21Speaker 2: Frank's on there or if he invites you guys from
- 2:16:24Speaker 2: time to time, you're just going to have to go
- 2:16:26Speaker 2: and take some secret pictures of him.
- 2:16:28Speaker 6: I'm pretty good at that.
- 2:16:29Speaker 2: Have you been on the boat?
- 2:16:30Speaker 10: He would totally expect it from me, so I can't.
- 2:16:32Speaker 6: Not this year.
- 2:16:33Speaker 2: Isn't that interesting? He's kind of distancing himself a little bit, huh?
- 2:16:39Speaker 2: Knowing that these pranks that you're pulling, he's not finding amusing, Melfi?
- 2:16:43Speaker 6: Because what am I going to do, sink his boat wrong?
- 2:16:48Speaker 2: Like the Lusitania? Hey, Jim, I think he's doing that
- 2:16:53Speaker 2: pretty good on his own based.
- 2:16:54Speaker 6: On what I heard.
- 2:16:55Speaker 33: Yeah, he doesn't need my help. He doesn't need my
- 2:16:57Speaker 33: help to do that. Hit an iceberg?
- 2:16:59Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know what he hit, whatever
- 2:17:01Speaker 2: he hit. And, of course, it wasn't his fault. It
- 2:17:03Speaker 2: was the navigational system's fault.
- 2:17:05Speaker 10: Yeah, something else's fault.
- 2:17:07Speaker 6: I will say this. David can't operate anything. There's no
- 2:17:12Speaker 6: mechanical skills, but he knows his boat. He knows his boats.
- 2:17:15Speaker 6: I will give him credit on that.
- 2:17:16Speaker 10: I'll hear him in his office just like screaming and
- 2:17:19Speaker 10: cursing over something with email. I just peek in. Do
- 2:17:21Speaker 10: you need help sending that?
- 2:17:24Speaker 2: Well, sometimes it can be frustrating. Things never go as
- 2:17:27Speaker 2: you often plan them to go, right?
- 2:17:29Speaker 10: That is true.
- 2:17:30Speaker 33: Yeah, boomers in technology, Ron.
- 2:17:33Speaker 10: He did teach me how to use TikTok, though. I
- 2:17:35Speaker 10: give him credit for that.
- 2:17:37Speaker 2: He's big on social media. And, I mean, you know,
- 2:17:40Speaker 2: people enjoy following the life of Attorney Beatrice, trust me,
- 2:17:43Speaker 2: and his trials and tribulations. I mean, whether it's the
- 2:17:47Speaker 2: flat tire, whether it's traveling with Frank to Chicago. Chicago,
- 2:17:51Speaker 2: whether it's just Dave's day-to-day things that happen to him
- 2:17:54Speaker 2: that just don't happen to anybody else.
- 2:17:56Speaker 6: Which I told those guys, it's wild that you're flying
- 2:17:59Speaker 6: to Chicago. By the time you get to the airport,
- 2:18:01Speaker 6: go through security, get on the plane, deport.
- 2:18:03Speaker 2: You might as well drive.
- 2:18:05Speaker 6: Just drive. It's one road the entire way. It's 80.
- 2:18:07Speaker 10: Would you want to ride that far with Beatrice?
- 2:18:10Speaker 6: If I'm driving, I could do it.
- 2:18:12Speaker 10: Yeah, if you're driving, yeah.
- 2:18:13Speaker 33: A wise man once told me, always have your own wheels.
- 2:18:17Speaker 2: There you go. All right, guys, I'm out of time.
- 2:18:20Speaker 2: Thank you, attorneys. You have a wonderful rest of the
- 2:18:24Speaker 2: week and a terrific weekend. It's always a pleasure being
- 2:18:27Speaker 2: with you. Thank you.
- 2:18:28Speaker 6: See you, Ron.
- 2:18:28Speaker 2: All right, so there you go. The Legal Show, courtesy
- 2:18:31Speaker 2: of Beatrice Kopp on NewsRadio 570 WKBN. We make way
- 2:18:35Speaker 2: for the news at 6 and in John Arnold to follow.
- 2:18:38Speaker 2: I'm going to be off on Friday and Monday, and
- 2:18:41Speaker 2: we'll return on Tuesday, August 4th. I'm going to take
- 2:18:44Speaker 2: a couple days off, Friday and Monday, for a long weekend.
- 2:18:49Speaker 2: on News Radio 570 at ODKVM. But stay tuned. John
- 2:18:52Speaker 2: Arnold's coming up next with Money Talks right here. Ron
- 2:18:56Speaker 2: Furp from the Kingdom of Mahoning.
