- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie. It is time for us to
- 0:02Speaker 1: go to God in prayer, and as always I ask
- 0:06Speaker 1: that you join along with me in prayer. You and
- 0:09Speaker 1: I was thinking about how the disciples had Jesus right
- 0:13Speaker 1: there with them on the boat, and when the storm
- 0:17Speaker 1: came they all got fretful and upset and worried and out.
- 0:20Speaker 1: They had Jesus right there physically in their presence. And
- 0:24Speaker 1: guess what, he never leaves us up for sake, because
- 0:26Speaker 1: He's right there with us when our storms come in life.
- 0:29Speaker 1: That's what I want to pray about this morning, Heavenly Father,
- 0:32Speaker 1: in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before you today,
- 0:35Speaker 1: standing in awe of your power and your majesty. You
- 0:39Speaker 1: are the God who walks on water, who speaks to
- 0:42Speaker 1: the winds and they obey. You are the same yesterday,
- 0:45Speaker 1: today and forever. And you have not lost control. Lord.
- 0:50Speaker 1: When the storms of life rage around us, when we're
- 0:53Speaker 1: tossed by the winds of fear and doubt and grief
- 0:56Speaker 1: and uncertainty, remind us that you are still in the boat.
- 1:01Speaker 1: You are not caught off guard, You are not shaken
- 1:04Speaker 1: by our trials. You are sovereign and every storm answers
- 1:08Speaker 1: to your voice. Father. Some of us are in the
- 1:10Speaker 1: middle of storms right now. The rain is pouring, the
- 1:14Speaker 1: thunder is loud, and it feels like we're sinking. But Lord,
- 1:17Speaker 1: you said in your word that even the winds and
- 1:20Speaker 1: waves obey you. So today we cry out like the
- 1:22Speaker 1: disciples did. Master, don't you care that we're perishing? And
- 1:27Speaker 1: you lovingly answer, Peace. Be still, Oh God, Speak peace
- 1:32Speaker 1: over every troubled heart listening right now. Speak peace over
- 1:36Speaker 1: broken marriages, over lost children, overfalling finances, over mental health battles,
- 1:42Speaker 1: over lonely nights, and weary souls. Remind us, Lord that
- 1:46Speaker 1: the storm is not the end. It is only a
- 1:49Speaker 1: passage approving ground, a place where your power is made
- 1:53Speaker 1: perfect in our weakness. Teach us not to just survive
- 1:57Speaker 1: the storm, but to trust you in the middle of that.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Let our faith not be in the absence of trouble,
- 2:03Speaker 1: but in the presence of Almighty God. Remind us that
- 2:07Speaker 1: you use the storm to draw us closer to You,
- 2:11Speaker 1: to purify our hearts, to show us that you are
- 2:14Speaker 1: our anchor when everything else falls apart. Lord, help us
- 2:19Speaker 1: to praise You in the thunder, to worship while the
- 2:23Speaker 1: waves crash, and to believe that you are working all
- 2:27Speaker 1: things out for our good, even when we don't understand it. God,
- 2:32Speaker 1: we declare today the storm will not destroy us. It
- 2:35Speaker 1: will develop us. It will teach us, it will stretch us,
- 2:39Speaker 1: it will show us the glory of your presence like
- 2:42Speaker 1: never before. So Father, we surrender. We lift our hands
- 2:46Speaker 1: in the middle of the wind, and we say, have
- 2:48Speaker 1: your way. Lord, Be glorified in the storm, Be magnified
- 2:52Speaker 1: in our weakness. Let the world see that even when
- 2:55Speaker 1: life shakes us, our God cannot be shaken. And the
- 2:59Speaker 1: mighty naturalist, wonderful name of Jesus, the one who calls
- 3:03Speaker 1: the seas. Oh, we pray this in Jesus' name. Amen, Amen, Amens,
