- 1:06Speaker 2: growth and mindset shifts that help you become the best
- 1:11Speaker 2: version of yourself. So pull up a seat. We're kicking
- 1:13Speaker 2: it today. I have a very special guest. She is
- 1:16Speaker 2: a recurring guest, so it's always fun to have people
- 1:20Speaker 2: who want to come back and kick it with me, y'all.
- 1:22Speaker 2: I still like to let my guests tell them people
- 1:25Speaker 2: who they are and what they do, so she knows
- 1:28Speaker 2: what to do. I'm gonna go ahead and turn it
- 1:30Speaker 2: over to her and let her tell you what she's doing,
- 1:32Speaker 2: who she is. Thank you for coming to Kicking it
- 1:35Speaker 2: with me again. So tell the people who you are
- 1:38Speaker 2: what you do.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Hi, I'm doctor you know La Pillard. I'm from La Fian, Louisiana.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I am a hair stylist, a tricologist, a life coach,
- 1:49Speaker 1: an author. I wear a few hats and I'm so
- 1:54Speaker 1: excited to be back on the show. I always love
- 1:57Speaker 1: to come on this show.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Well, I'm glad to have you back. Thank you for
- 2:01Speaker 2: coming to kick it with me again. I'm super excited
- 2:04Speaker 2: because I did a little formatting, different formatting for the podcast,
- 2:08Speaker 2: just to liven things up a little bit. We're talking
- 2:11Speaker 2: more about life, love and mindset instead of all the
- 2:14Speaker 2: other stuff that we used to talk about, which still
- 2:17Speaker 2: entails all of those things. What mindset help you survive
- 2:21Speaker 2: your hardest season? So we're going to talk about the
- 2:24Speaker 2: mindset moment right now?
- 2:26Speaker 1: Well, God, I tell you it's only through prayer and
- 2:34Speaker 1: meditation and you know, sticking to my tribe. I have
- 2:39Speaker 1: a tribe and one time I don't have a tribe,
- 2:43Speaker 1: but I do have a tribe and grabbing hold to
- 2:46Speaker 1: those that say called when you need you know, that's uplifting.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I cannot say where I am right here, sitting right
- 2:55Speaker 1: here is because.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Of that yeah, I love that love. We all need
- 3:02Speaker 2: our tribe, We all need people in our space that
- 3:05Speaker 2: don't require us every day, but know that we are
- 3:09Speaker 2: with them every day. Because my tribe, we may not
- 3:12Speaker 2: talk or see each other for weeks or months at
- 3:14Speaker 2: a time, but if they need me, they know them
- 3:17Speaker 2: there and vice versa. Because we all have lives and
- 3:19Speaker 2: things happen, so we can't just sit up on the
- 3:22Speaker 2: phone all day every day. We can't text back and
- 3:24Speaker 2: forth all day every day. It is always great to
- 3:27Speaker 2: have people who pour into you as you pour into them.
- 3:30Speaker 2: So what belief did you have to unlearn to grow
- 3:36Speaker 2: and change your mindset?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Well, I have to honestly say, at one season, I
- 3:44Speaker 1: it was a struggle because those that I thought that
- 3:47Speaker 1: would support me, it's not supporting me. And I saw
- 3:52Speaker 1: where it was taking away my strength and it was
- 3:57Speaker 1: beyond my control. So I had to shift my mindset
- 4:02Speaker 1: to see things completely different in order to move forward,
- 4:08Speaker 1: where instead of me getting substracted the tracting strength that
- 4:13Speaker 1: I gained strengths. So I had to get the revelation
- 4:17Speaker 1: that you cannot force people to care, to have compassion,
- 4:22Speaker 1: and to love like you love. But what it did
- 4:26Speaker 1: for me is be more mindful, to have more self
- 4:29Speaker 1: awareness of how I am with others. And that's what
- 4:34Speaker 1: keeps me going. And especially when someone call and say, look,
- 4:39Speaker 1: you help me just on time. Guess what breakthrough I got?
- 4:42Speaker 1: You know? So that's what worked for me. That the
- 4:46Speaker 1: change I want to see, let us start in myself
- 4:49Speaker 1: and instead of looking at it so much from others,
- 4:53Speaker 1: for me to apply to how I interact, react and
- 4:57Speaker 1: respond to others.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Absolutely, And when it comes to life and love, how
- 5:03Speaker 2: have you allowed your mindset to shift so that those
- 5:08Speaker 2: things can balance and flow so that you are able
- 5:11Speaker 2: to walk in your God given purpose.
- 5:15Speaker 1: To allow love to be action, collect to take out
- 5:19Speaker 1: of my vocabulary I'm gonna I'm gonna see and one
- 5:24Speaker 1: day actually making that priority to love our loud, to
- 5:30Speaker 1: allow love to be action, not counting the score of
- 5:35Speaker 1: who called last, or I don't want to bother her,
- 5:39Speaker 1: not even thinking that way, to just for me to
- 5:42Speaker 1: do it. And I tell y'all feel so free, I
- 5:46Speaker 1: feel lighter, I feel happier, and it just made my
- 5:52Speaker 1: love walk even more because I feel that's part of
- 5:56Speaker 1: my DNA to love. That's what I grew up on,
- 6:00Speaker 1: you know, we grew up with our moms, our grandparents,
- 6:05Speaker 1: just seeing how they are. You know, the way things
- 6:07Speaker 1: were then is not the way it is now. But
- 6:11Speaker 1: your roots, your foundation, what you know, that's who you are.
- 6:15Speaker 1: And I found myself at one time, you know, I
- 6:19Speaker 1: felt that if I'm quiet, I'm to myself. I'm by myself.
- 6:23Speaker 1: You can't lie to me, you can't misunderstand me, you
- 6:26Speaker 1: can't judge me. You can't tell me if I'm good enough,
- 6:28Speaker 1: smart enough, small enough, tall enough, bright enough, my hair
- 6:34Speaker 1: a certain way. You can't judge all of that. But
- 6:37Speaker 1: I realized when I was shifting and elevating in my
- 6:41Speaker 1: career and just as a woman alone, that just would
- 6:45Speaker 1: not work for me. So I had to shift. And
- 6:49Speaker 1: I just got the revelation on how I'm working on
- 6:53Speaker 1: a time clock that has no snooze button because you
- 6:56Speaker 1: know what it's time to shift. It's no god, I
- 7:00Speaker 1: don't know. It wakes you up in the middle of
- 7:02Speaker 1: the night. You'll see a bumper sticker, You'll see a
- 7:06Speaker 1: billboard sign. That word will keep chasing after you until
- 7:10Speaker 1: you get it that you must embrace with you. Absolutely.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I love that we're not living we're not living on
- 7:18Speaker 2: a snooze button. Oh my goodness, because you know I
- 7:21Speaker 2: don't like to hit the snooze button, but I have
- 7:24Speaker 2: done it in the past. It just gives you a
- 7:27Speaker 2: little bit more. I get fifteen more minutes or ten
- 7:31Speaker 2: more minutes or whatever. But life doesn't stop. Life is
- 7:34Speaker 2: always going. It does not stop. Although we have curve
- 7:38Speaker 2: balls and speed bumps that can hold up some process,
- 7:42Speaker 2: we still going along the way. So I love that
- 7:45Speaker 2: revelation that you got about that like make glove action,
- 7:49Speaker 2: And if more people thought that way, life would probably
- 7:54Speaker 2: be so much better and we could be farther in
- 7:58Speaker 2: our relationships, in our you know, careers or whatever. Yeah,
- 8:04Speaker 2: I love that. Thank you for sharing that with the audience, y'all.
- 8:07Speaker 2: I know y'all heard that, If not get every one
- 8:10Speaker 2: so that you can hear it again. What one mindset?
- 8:15Speaker 2: What is one mindset that people need to adopt right now.
- 8:22Speaker 1: To join the movement. Join the movement, get out of
- 8:28Speaker 1: being stuck, Get out of your comfort zone. You will
- 8:33Speaker 1: not be last in your comfort zone. And I can
- 8:36Speaker 1: speak from experience, and as you work on yourself, is
- 8:43Speaker 1: no way things can remain the same. Your finances won't
- 8:47Speaker 1: remain the same. And when you actually get in cruise control,
- 8:53Speaker 1: just just get on cruise control. It's so much easier
- 8:57Speaker 1: because you're fitting in who your call to be. You're
- 9:02Speaker 1: able to define what's your purpose, what's the plan, and
- 9:06Speaker 1: you're just on cruise control. It's not without force. See.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Sometimes it takes tests and trials, and it's just like
- 9:15Speaker 1: an olive that as it gets crushed. Through the crushing,
- 9:19Speaker 1: it's olive all. It's an anointing that comes for and
- 9:23Speaker 1: when we realize that even what we do, it is
- 9:26Speaker 1: not by power, and it is not by might, but
- 9:30Speaker 1: it's only by the spirit of the living God. And
- 9:33Speaker 1: it's the anointing that destroyed yolks, the uproot generational curses
- 9:38Speaker 1: and uproot cycles where you'll find, well, this time last year,
- 9:42Speaker 1: you was in the same place. And it's only you
- 9:45Speaker 1: can make up your mind and say no, no, I
- 9:49Speaker 1: cannot stay in this place. And you know, as I mentioned,
- 9:53Speaker 1: I just feel freer. I feel that things are just
- 9:59Speaker 1: coming to me, you know, instead of me working so
- 10:01Speaker 1: hard trying to make things work, it just come to me.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Opportunities to just come. And I feel that when we
- 10:08Speaker 1: and Cruise Control were letting God take control. It's like
- 10:13Speaker 1: sometime you want to surprise us. You know, we think
- 10:15Speaker 1: even as parents, you know what our kids, we may
- 10:18Speaker 1: hear want something and they don't know we already have it.
- 10:21Speaker 1: We already have it, just waiting till their birthday two
- 10:24Speaker 1: more days. And I think about God saying, look, two
- 10:28Speaker 1: more hours. Only she knew just two more hours. And honestly,
- 10:32Speaker 1: a book was a birth through that and it just
- 10:36Speaker 1: was published. And the name of it is one Wish.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Tell the audience about one wish.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I love that congratulation, Thank you, thank you, Yes, one Wish.
- 10:50Speaker 1: It's it's actually a children's book and it's about a
- 10:55Speaker 1: lady and we could define with her. Her name is Test. Test.
- 11:00Speaker 1: This was an entrepreneur. She had on beauty salon. He
- 11:03Speaker 1: worked hard in the community. She helped anybody she knew.
- 11:06Speaker 1: She served in the church, and she shared with the
- 11:09Speaker 1: pastor over a decade ago that her desire was for
- 11:12Speaker 1: a daughter. And he sat back and watched watch her grow,
- 11:17Speaker 1: watch her elevator, watch her pursue her dreams. But he
- 11:21Speaker 1: knew it was that one void and it was one
- 11:24Speaker 1: Sunday morning, all of that change. It was a grandmother
- 11:27Speaker 1: that was taking care of a little girl that had
- 11:30Speaker 1: sick of seal and she couldn't take care of her anymore.
- 11:33Speaker 1: And she asked the pastor, is there someone that he
- 11:37Speaker 1: knew for sure that would love her like she loves her,
- 11:42Speaker 1: that can care for her the way that she can
- 11:44Speaker 1: no longer. And it was Tests. So one day Test
- 11:48Speaker 1: life change and she gained that one wish and she
- 11:52Speaker 1: was able to press fast forward with Zoe. Her name
- 11:55Speaker 1: is Zoe. And when the grandmother couldn't get her nails
- 11:59Speaker 1: polish and get her ear rings, get her ears peers,
- 12:03Speaker 1: then decorate her room everything the grandmother couldn't do, Tests
- 12:07Speaker 1: was able to press fast forward and do it for her.
- 12:10Speaker 1: But then she got a crisis. And when she had
- 12:13Speaker 1: that crisis, Test was able to tell her how she
- 12:16Speaker 1: had one wish and that was for her, she can
- 12:19Speaker 1: have a wish and she can get better. And she
- 12:22Speaker 1: asks her what does she want to do when she
- 12:24Speaker 1: get out of the hospital, and she wanted the tea parties.
- 12:27Speaker 1: So that's how the book, uh, that's how it ends.
- 12:31Speaker 1: But it's so many points to that book that can
- 12:34Speaker 1: speak to so many women. You know, for us, it
- 12:38Speaker 1: may not be a daughter, it may be something else,
- 12:42Speaker 1: but for whatever it is. It's going to give hope
- 12:45Speaker 1: to those that feel all hope is gone, even to
- 12:48Speaker 1: the little girls. You know, there are so many young
- 12:51Speaker 1: kids that have disabilities, that have illnesses that they need
- 12:56Speaker 1: to know that they can find even with what their circumstances,
- 13:01Speaker 1: they can find a norm you know, they can find
- 13:03Speaker 1: some normalcy in their life. So that book can speak
- 13:07Speaker 1: on so many different areas. And when I tell you,
- 13:10Speaker 1: so far that book has been in three different settings.
- 13:15Speaker 1: And when I tell you I literally have maybe two
- 13:18Speaker 1: books left, right.
- 13:20Speaker 2: I'm so happy not for you, Yes, yes, I love that.
- 13:25Speaker 2: So working listeners purchase the book if they wanted to
- 13:28Speaker 2: get a copy of support you, how can they get
- 13:30Speaker 2: a copy of one wish.
- 13:33Speaker 1: On a Chante Enterprises dot com. That's my website, and
- 13:37Speaker 1: they can purchase it off that site. And I mean
- 13:41Speaker 1: Nola Pillard on Facebook. And I'm always keeping up today.
- 13:45Speaker 1: It's always somewhere I'm at, you know, there's there's I'm
- 13:49Speaker 1: really to up until October. I have things that's already
- 13:52Speaker 1: on my schedule. So wherever I show up as a
- 13:55Speaker 1: vendor or as a speaker, I make sure that I
- 13:58Speaker 1: have new release copy. It's on me. So I would
- 14:01Speaker 1: say to them, you know, just watch my page, watch
- 14:05Speaker 1: what's going on, because I may be in their city
- 14:08Speaker 1: and they can get a copy and get a signed
- 14:10Speaker 1: by me.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Come into a city, New Year, y'all, stay on the
- 14:13Speaker 2: look out for all of that. So we are moving
- 14:16Speaker 2: into the reality check where growth sounds in theory, like
- 14:23Speaker 2: the truth behind everything that's uncomfortable becoming comfortable. So I'm
- 14:28Speaker 2: going to ask you these questions and you just the
- 14:31Speaker 2: first thing that pops to mind, that's what you that's
- 14:34Speaker 2: what you got to answer with. Okay, right, reality check?
- 14:38Speaker 1: All right?
- 14:39Speaker 2: What's the uncomfortable truth people avoid when it comes to
- 14:42Speaker 2: personal growth?
- 14:46Speaker 1: To get out of the way, To get out of
- 14:48Speaker 1: the way, and look in the mirror, look at the
- 14:51Speaker 1: look at the woman in the mirror, look at the
- 14:53Speaker 1: man in the mirror, and embrace who you really are.
- 14:57Speaker 1: You see. That's why I mentioned that quiet, sheltered person
- 15:01Speaker 1: that always sat to the back, that didn't fit for
- 15:04Speaker 1: me anymore. Because I embraced being an author already, I
- 15:08Speaker 1: embraced being a life coach already, I embraced being a hairstylist.
- 15:12Speaker 1: So all those avenues, it involves people you know, and
- 15:16Speaker 1: you're not gonna fulfill your purpose. My purpose was people,
- 15:21Speaker 1: to serve people, to give a message to people. So
- 15:25Speaker 1: that mean that mindset of being quiet, it just didn't
- 15:28Speaker 1: work anymore. So I had to pursue and guess what,
- 15:31Speaker 1: let me tell you. From being that having that reality check,
- 15:35Speaker 1: I've went from speaking amongst hundreds till now I'm a
- 15:40Speaker 1: TV and film hairstylist and you you just might see
- 15:44Speaker 1: me on the next movie.
- 15:47Speaker 2: All right, Listen, that makes me so proud because we
- 15:50Speaker 2: hadn't talking a while, but you know, I see I
- 15:54Speaker 2: see you on social media.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Movie I just be smile.
- 15:56Speaker 2: I'm like, she don't never sit out, but I'm so
- 16:00Speaker 2: happy for you. That is amazing, And I think that
- 16:04Speaker 2: it is very important to get out of your own
- 16:05Speaker 2: way and when you know that your purpose is bigger
- 16:10Speaker 2: than you, to help other people fulfill their purpose. You
- 16:13Speaker 2: can't sit quiet. You can't sit in the back because
- 16:16Speaker 2: God is ushering you for for a reason, your gifts
- 16:19Speaker 2: make room for you. You have to make sure that
- 16:21Speaker 2: you're listening and hearing the voice of God, because we
- 16:25Speaker 2: know that the enemy can speak as well. But we
- 16:28Speaker 2: serve a God that is mighty and everlasting. He will
- 16:31Speaker 2: not forsake us or leave us. He is not the
- 16:34Speaker 2: author of confusion. So we just have to know that
- 16:37Speaker 2: it is him who is speaking to us so that
- 16:41Speaker 2: we can get our own reality check and get out
- 16:43Speaker 2: of our own way.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, and you know some there. I can't tell you.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I'm not gonna tell the listeners that it was easy.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I'm not gonna tell you that it happened over night.
- 16:59Speaker 1: It was birth and pains that came through that you
- 17:03Speaker 1: hear about in the Bible, about about him being the
- 17:07Speaker 1: potter and we are the clay, and how he's shaping
- 17:09Speaker 1: and molding. Do you know through that process there was
- 17:12Speaker 1: things I found out by myself and I was like, no,
- 17:15Speaker 1: not me, me, me a people pleaser, me, me allowed someone.
- 17:24Speaker 1: If you know you hear about a roaring line that
- 17:26Speaker 1: has no bite. I just discovered that there's someone that's
- 17:32Speaker 1: that's an authority that I look up to. Do you
- 17:35Speaker 1: know that I had, literally I had to come to
- 17:40Speaker 1: the reality. I looked at them as a god. Anything
- 17:44Speaker 1: you see higher than God. Anything you talk about a lot,
- 17:48Speaker 1: you complain about a lot, no matter what, that's the
- 17:51Speaker 1: thing that keeps you inferior. That was a human being
- 17:55Speaker 1: that's walking around right now, and that person didn't even
- 17:58Speaker 1: know they had that, but I was in fear of that,
- 18:01Speaker 1: and I had to I had to walk up to
- 18:03Speaker 1: that lion. I had to walk up to that lion
- 18:08Speaker 1: and realize it was just roaring, but it had no bite.
- 18:14Speaker 1: And it's a process because I was so accustomed to
- 18:17Speaker 1: it for so long. I have to allow God to to,
- 18:22Speaker 1: you know, to help me to adjust, because it just
- 18:25Speaker 1: became a part of me. No matter what I did,
- 18:29Speaker 1: that person opinion mattered. No matter what I accomplished with that,
- 18:35Speaker 1: how that person will react that's what matters. And I
- 18:38Speaker 1: had to repent. I had to honestly repent and tell
- 18:43Speaker 1: God I was sorry, because there's someone that's looking for
- 18:47Speaker 1: a door to open, There's someone that was looking for
- 18:50Speaker 1: a breakthrough, and here I was walking in my breakthrough
- 18:54Speaker 1: and not even saying thank you because I was looking
- 18:57Speaker 1: at man's opinion. And when I had to realize who
- 19:00Speaker 1: had the problem. I didn't really have the problem. That
- 19:04Speaker 1: individual have a problem that they can't handle the increase,
- 19:08Speaker 1: They can't handle the influence that I have. They can't
- 19:11Speaker 1: handle that they not doing what I'm doing. So even
- 19:14Speaker 1: through all of that, I realized who had the problem
- 19:18Speaker 1: when it seemed like I had the problem. But I
- 19:21Speaker 1: don't have the problem no more, you know. So though
- 19:25Speaker 1: it's a lot that I said, but I know I
- 19:28Speaker 1: feel that it's somebody that needed to hear that today.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Absolutely, And that's what I like about adding this new
- 19:34Speaker 2: segment called the Reality Check. It allows you, as the guests,
- 19:39Speaker 2: to be real with the people and pour into them
- 19:43Speaker 2: in a way that they can understand because it's relatable.
- 19:46Speaker 2: So thank you for sharing that with us and being vulnerable.
- 19:49Speaker 2: I appreciate it so much. With this question, I love
- 19:54Speaker 2: this question that I've only asked three other guests because
- 19:57Speaker 2: it is new and it's coming up on the next
- 19:58Speaker 2: part of the podcast when the new season drops. What
- 20:02Speaker 2: habits are quietly keeping people stuck? Oh?
- 20:10Speaker 1: As I mentioned people pleasing not dealing with the root
- 20:17Speaker 1: for myself, I speak, I speak about myself. When it
- 20:21Speaker 1: was time for me to deal with these these issues,
- 20:25Speaker 1: I swept it under the rug, I tuck it, I
- 20:28Speaker 1: tucked it in, I tucked it away. I found something
- 20:31Speaker 1: else to replace it because I felt I couldn't handle
- 20:34Speaker 1: the pain. But the pain just kept coming up at
- 20:37Speaker 1: opportune time. So I had to deal with that pain.
- 20:43Speaker 1: I had to deal with it. And guess what today,
- 20:46Speaker 1: all I can think, I'm taking one day at a time. Today,
- 20:49Speaker 1: I'm smiling today, I feel free. Today, I feel vibrant,
- 20:54Speaker 1: I feel I feel productive. I feel like I'm not busy.
- 21:00Speaker 1: You know there's times we can be busy and not
- 21:02Speaker 1: doing anything. Uh huh you know, so yeah, yeah, I
- 21:09Speaker 1: know I may keep saying the same thing, but it's
- 21:12Speaker 1: the truth. It's really the.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Truth, right, and you've experienced it, so you know that
- 21:18Speaker 2: it happens like it's the reality. We all get in
- 21:20Speaker 2: our own way. We all become people pleases at one
- 21:23Speaker 2: part of our lives or another, whether you want to
- 21:25Speaker 2: acknowledge it or not. We all get comfortable being in
- 21:29Speaker 2: the comfort zone, but there's no growth that happens there.
- 21:33Speaker 2: We all have insecurities, we have imposter syndrome where we
- 21:37Speaker 2: don't feel like we're good enough. But God says, so,
- 21:40Speaker 2: God gave you these gifts, so stop worrying about the
- 21:43Speaker 2: approval of man. Do it with your whole heart, with
- 21:50Speaker 2: integrity and humility and grace and self compassion, and watch
- 21:56Speaker 2: how your life changed. I am a living witness to
- 21:59Speaker 2: that because I am so glad that I stopped people pleasing,
- 22:06Speaker 2: that I stopped caring about what people thought so much.
- 22:09Speaker 2: And when I decided to let that go, I have.
- 22:14Speaker 2: It's like you said, it's freeing. You feel lighter, You
- 22:18Speaker 2: just look at life different. And I'm not turning back
- 22:20Speaker 2: for that. So last question of the reality check, what
- 22:24Speaker 2: excuse do people need to stop making?
- 22:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it tomorrow, but this time next year.
- 22:36Speaker 1: All right, all right, let me work on this first.
- 22:39Speaker 1: And once this happened, then that's not gonna work. That's
- 22:46Speaker 1: not gonna work. And you know what was happening for
- 22:49Speaker 1: me the very thing that I was called to be
- 22:53Speaker 1: others that look up to me, that I was mentoring
- 22:56Speaker 1: they was a cop from the shit and I had
- 22:59Speaker 1: to real lives. How am I known as their mentors
- 23:04Speaker 1: and telling them what they can do? And I'm not
- 23:06Speaker 1: doing it my own self? Wow?
- 23:09Speaker 2: Yeah, you have to look in the mirror. You have
- 23:12Speaker 2: your own reality check with yourself the same you you
- 23:16Speaker 2: know how to get it done. You helping other people
- 23:18Speaker 2: do it? Why not do it for yourself?
- 23:20Speaker 1: Yes? M hm, yes, take my take my own advice
- 23:25Speaker 1: and even books that I've read, you know, taken a
- 23:28Speaker 1: taking a second to to read that my own self,
- 23:32Speaker 1: read my own book, read my own mess you know, yes, yes,
- 23:38Speaker 1: most definitely. I'm like, wow, I love it.
- 23:44Speaker 2: I love that because it is a it's an a
- 23:47Speaker 2: har moment because that was just confirmation. Just what you
- 23:52Speaker 2: just said. That was confirmation for me. It's like, you happen,
- 23:55Speaker 2: you're you're, you're you help the other people do this,
- 23:58Speaker 2: so why not you? Yes, that was confirmation about something
- 24:02Speaker 2: that I needed to hear. I needed to hear that
- 24:04Speaker 2: in this season for something that I'm working on or
- 24:07Speaker 2: what's helping somebody else work on. And it's like, you've
- 24:09Speaker 2: been wanting to do this all this time, and you're
- 24:12Speaker 2: giving them the steps that you can take to get
- 24:14Speaker 2: it done because they are doing it. You told them
- 24:17Speaker 2: the steps that it take.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Yes, Yeah, thank you for that. All right?
- 24:22Speaker 2: Got all right, Let's bring this conversation a home with
- 24:26Speaker 2: an action step, because mindset without movement doesn't create change.
- 24:31Speaker 2: What is one action someone can take today to move forward?
- 24:37Speaker 1: I would say the action step is to celebrate yourself.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Celebrate yourself. I'm actually about to have an event, my
- 24:47Speaker 1: own first event, and the name of the event event
- 24:51Speaker 1: is I Am the Proof no matter what. You haven't overcame,
- 24:57Speaker 1: You overcame something, you confered something, you accomplish something, you're
- 25:03Speaker 1: the proof that it can happen. So that would be
- 25:07Speaker 1: my advice to celebrate yourself. So celebrate your victories, celebrate yourself,
- 25:14Speaker 1: treat yourself. Pat your own self on the back. If
- 25:17Speaker 1: nobody else pat your pat you on the back, Pat
- 25:20Speaker 1: your own self on the back. Look in the mirror
- 25:23Speaker 1: and say congratulations to yourself because there's something you've accomplished.
- 25:30Speaker 1: You're not where you were even last week. You know,
- 25:34Speaker 1: if you keep listening to a podcast like this, you
- 25:37Speaker 1: won't you won't have a choice but to transform. You're
- 25:39Speaker 1: gonna shock yourself with me like what I said, what
- 25:43Speaker 1: I did? What right?
- 25:47Speaker 2: Absolutely?
- 25:47Speaker 1: I love it.
- 25:48Speaker 2: And that's the overall purpose of podcasts like this to
- 25:50Speaker 2: have conversations that are relatable and need necessary to change
- 25:56Speaker 2: the narrative in our lives, especially in the black community.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Because I do this for my people. You know, I
- 26:01Speaker 2: love all people, but I do this for my people
- 26:03Speaker 2: because we have been conditioned for years that we're not
- 26:08Speaker 2: supposed to be who God called us to be, that
- 26:13Speaker 2: we're supposed to be inferior to other people. That we're
- 26:16Speaker 2: not supposed to have education, that now we're not supposed
- 26:19Speaker 2: to have a family, or you know, a career of
- 26:23Speaker 2: making money, driving certain cars and living life the way
- 26:27Speaker 2: that we are supposed to live it. That is a lie.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Stop telling yourself that and stop allowing other people to
- 26:32Speaker 2: tell you that and make you feel like that. Get
- 26:34Speaker 2: out of your own way, like that's the action step
- 26:37Speaker 2: that I'll tell everybody. Get out your own way, yes,
- 26:42Speaker 2: and get the shirt right. Get out of your own way.
- 26:48Speaker 1: What daily habit.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Builds long term transformation when it comes to mindset in
- 26:54Speaker 2: life and love, I.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Would say for bets and spending time with myself, meditating,
- 27:04Speaker 1: you know, taking time to evaluate my goals, short term goals,
- 27:10Speaker 1: long term goals. Just sitting being quiet and join life God.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Sit on the porch, m a walk, go sit in
- 27:19Speaker 1: the park, treat yourself to an ice cream. That's that's
- 27:23Speaker 1: that's what I've been doing.
- 27:25Speaker 2: That sounds like a perfect day with myself. That's the
- 27:27Speaker 2: perfect day for me.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Yes, yes, I love that.
- 27:32Speaker 2: And what questions should listeners ask themselves, Like anybody that's
- 27:37Speaker 2: sitting with themselves out on the porch, they may be
- 27:40Speaker 2: taking their walk or in the park. What questions should
- 27:43Speaker 2: they ask themselves today?
- 27:46Speaker 1: What are what are the things they didn't say thank
- 27:49Speaker 1: you for?
- 27:50Speaker 2: Oh?
- 27:52Speaker 1: What are the things they didn't say thank you for?
- 27:55Speaker 2: Mm hmm?
- 27:58Speaker 1: And what that does for me? When I sit back
- 28:03Speaker 1: and I just think about my day. You know how
- 28:06Speaker 1: I made it home safe, I had a meal. You know,
- 28:10Speaker 1: it's not till your ac go out till you appreciate air,
- 28:16Speaker 1: When your high water tank go out, you appreciate hot water. See,
- 28:19Speaker 1: I had all those situations when you car break down
- 28:22Speaker 1: on side the road and somebody actually came to help you.
- 28:25Speaker 1: You ain't sitting those things. When you start thinking about
- 28:28Speaker 1: just your day, the things that has happened, and you
- 28:31Speaker 1: can say thank you. Oh, no matter what you facing,
- 28:34Speaker 1: all of that fades away because if all those things
- 28:37Speaker 1: worked out, this one little tiny thing is you can
- 28:41Speaker 1: be sure that it will work out. Also.
- 28:44Speaker 2: I love that thank you so much. Y'all. She is
