Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Ladies, gentlemen, welcome to a very special episode with the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Locker Room. As always. My name is Tayl Lawana. I'm
- 0:05Speaker 1: a part of the show. The future Commissioner of college
- 0:07Speaker 1: football Josh Pate hughes here. He had a massive milestone
- 0:12Speaker 1: on his YouTube account. We'll get into that during the show.
- 0:14Speaker 1: And then finally, the one, the only Willie Bompton, Will Compton,
- 0:18Speaker 1: He's with us. See it be. Conference Championship weekend is
- 0:21Speaker 1: a beautiful time to be alive. The college will playoff bracket,
- 0:24Speaker 1: It's all over the place. There's about three teams that
- 0:26Speaker 1: are sitting on the outside looking in. We're thinking to ourselves,
- 0:28Speaker 1: do they need to be in not out? On maybe
- 0:29Speaker 1: these teams? Why are we doing G five's I don't know.
- 0:32Speaker 1: But Championship weekend, this is where we're gonna go over
- 0:34Speaker 1: North Texas Tulane. Biggest storyline coming out of that. Both
- 0:37Speaker 1: teams do not have their head coach, Duke Virginia. Everyone
- 0:41Speaker 1: and their mother who loves chaos is focused on Duke
- 0:44Speaker 1: BYU versus Texas Tech. We saw this a couple of
- 0:46Speaker 1: weeks ago. It'll probably be the same result, but you'll
- 0:49Speaker 1: find out. As Josh pay breaks it down Alabama versus
- 0:51Speaker 1: George the SEC Championship. A lot of people wondering why
- 0:54Speaker 1: does it matter with the new playoff bracket. We're gonna
- 0:57Speaker 1: get into that a lot of juicy good information, a
- 1:00Speaker 1: special thing happening during that game.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Just stay tuned for that. Indiana, Ohio State one and
- 1:05Speaker 2: two for the Big Ten Championship.
- 1:07Speaker 1: It's a beautiful time to be a live Let's look
- 1:08Speaker 1: at the record from last week. Myself three and two,
- 1:11Speaker 1: Josh Pate three and two, Will Compton four and one.
- 1:15Speaker 1: On the day, he's making himself a little jump as.
- 1:18Speaker 2: We had closer close at the end of the season.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Right now I'm seeing at five hundred the boys are
- 1:21Speaker 1: sitting just below that rapid fire result this week, I'll
- 1:24Speaker 1: just take a look for yourself. Let's have a hell
- 1:25Speaker 1: of a show. And by the way, do me a
- 1:28Speaker 1: favor if you're tuning into this, if you're a Josh
- 1:30Speaker 1: pet fan, a Will Compton fan, a tailor, the wand fan,
- 1:32Speaker 1: or I don't know, Derek Hargis fan, do me a
- 1:34Speaker 1: favor and subscribe to this show. We need it more
- 1:37Speaker 1: than ever. It's free for you and it helps us
- 1:40Speaker 1: a whole bunch of big hugs, tid of kisses. All right.
- 2:04Speaker 1: The locker Room is presented by FANDOS Sportsbook, America's number
- 2:08Speaker 1: one sportsbook. Before we get into things, we just want

- 2:24Speaker 2: We've got a conference championship a weekend ahead of us,
- 2:27Speaker 2: but before we dive in, let's talk about the boosting
- 2:30Speaker 2: with the Boys Profit Boost top.
- 2:31Speaker 1: That's right, Well, it's beautiful time to be alive. We
- 2:33Speaker 1: of course got some great games this weekend. Think you
- 2:36Speaker 1: know how a few of them are going to play
- 2:37Speaker 1: out parlay or picks together and boost your odds. We'll
- 2:40Speaker 1: get a juicy pai day. We will get you'll get
- 2:43Speaker 1: a juicy or payout as you ride out the slate.
- 2:46Speaker 2: We've had a week's worth of examples of people hitting
- 2:49Speaker 2: big on these parlays with the boost, and we've got
- 2:51Speaker 2: one here to share with.
- 2:52Speaker 1: We're talking nineteen leg parlay Boys nineteen legs and I
- 2:56Speaker 1: don't know how our group chat can't figure this out.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Nineteen legs. This person had plus twelve, three hundred and
- 3:03Speaker 1: fourteen odds and the total payout was sixty two thousand,
- 3:06Speaker 1: sixty eight dollars and ninety cents.
- 3:08Speaker 2: That's incredible, that's incredible. Why don't we do that? Hey?
- 3:12Speaker 2: A lot of why not this weekend? Why not this weekend?
- 3:15Speaker 2: Visit fandom dot com slash busting to download the app
- 3:17Speaker 2: and start cooking up your parlay today, gentlemen, before we
- 3:20Speaker 2: get started, Taylor, a big reason that we started Busting
- 3:25Speaker 2: with the Boys is to bring the locker room to life, yep,
- 3:28Speaker 2: to celebrate our boys, to show, like get interviews of
- 3:31Speaker 2: guys where you usually have the helmet on and you're
- 3:34Speaker 2: not really getting to tell your story. People don't really
- 3:36Speaker 2: get to know you like that unless it's in the
- 3:37Speaker 2: locker room with the camera in your face and the
- 3:39Speaker 2: microphone where you're not gonna give bits of it.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Show a whole lot of personality. Because you have to
- 3:42Speaker 1: veil the football in front of your.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Face, you allow the player and the people we have
- 3:46Speaker 2: on the bus to kind of control their story and
- 3:47Speaker 2: find ways to celebrate them in their success. We have
- 3:50Speaker 2: somebody very close to us. We had a massive milestone
- 3:53Speaker 2: last night live in front of the world, and it
- 3:56Speaker 2: was Josh Pate with the goal of getting the five
- 3:59Speaker 2: hundred k subscribe. He hit it live last night during
- 4:02Speaker 2: his show, and we have found a way to celebrate
- 4:04Speaker 2: the boy.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Bring out the balloons. Walk it special. Man, that all
- 4:13Speaker 1: that kind of says five hundred K.
- 4:16Speaker 3: That's amazing, dude, possibly the nicest thing anyone's ever done
- 4:21Speaker 3: for me. The I Do ballon is this lead based
- 4:24Speaker 3: paint anchoring the ballues.
- 4:25Speaker 1: It has to be. We know you're an old school guy.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Paint paint.
- 4:30Speaker 3: There's a couple of zeros the five k there we go, yeah,
- 4:34Speaker 3: because that's just fifty, which is still respected, but five
- 4:37Speaker 3: hundred a little bit better. Hey, who stood.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Hoops Very quickly.
- 4:42Speaker 4: I was told to pass along the message that the
- 4:44Speaker 4: ring the I Do is you accepting the role of
- 4:48Speaker 4: commission of college football.
- 4:50Speaker 3: So that's official. Not we have the power on this show.
- 4:53Speaker 2: We have.
- 4:54Speaker 1: We don't have the power in the show. You have
- 4:55Speaker 1: the power on this show.
- 4:56Speaker 2: We have the power.
- 4:58Speaker 1: We because we are your right hand men. Right and
- 5:00Speaker 1: left hand men also have the power on the show.
- 5:02Speaker 3: That's what the foxhole is all about.
- 5:04Speaker 1: You come in, you go, you do this, you please.
- 5:06Speaker 1: As long as you're in it at the right time,
- 5:08Speaker 1: you're the guy.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Say what, it's starting to seep in there a little
- 5:11Speaker 2: bit more. Coach Coach mc guire.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Headed to the Big twelve Championship game. But what's on
- 5:15Speaker 3: his mind? Future Commissioner of College, Future Commissioner College?
- 5:18Speaker 1: Hey did you text it about that?
- 5:19Speaker 2: Like?
- 5:19Speaker 1: How did you? He just randomly was in a press conference.
- 5:21Speaker 1: He was like, let me just shout out, Josh Paper.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Yeah, Like his sid hit me up and said, Joey
- 5:27Speaker 3: just said this, which to me means you guys are
- 5:29Speaker 3: just sitting around, you know, between practice out there, and
- 5:32Speaker 3: he said that. It wasn't until an hour later one
- 5:34Speaker 3: of my buddies said, hey, cool, shout out and McGuire's
- 5:36Speaker 3: press conference and I said, say what now? And then
- 5:39Speaker 3: I go and watch and I'm just clapping in my
- 5:42Speaker 3: car at the YMCA. I just took the caffeine water.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Elbows are going a little itchy, adrenalines flow in and
- 5:49Speaker 3: uh yeah, so first coach, but probably not the last coach.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Like now it's you don't want to be first, but
- 5:54Speaker 3: you don't want to be third. So like, who's going
- 5:55Speaker 3: to be second to publicly use their platform to do
- 5:59Speaker 3: the responsible thing?
- 6:00Speaker 2: You know?
- 6:00Speaker 1: And the big thing is they're probably going to win
- 6:01Speaker 1: the Big twelve Championship. So now you have the Big
- 6:04Speaker 1: twelve Championship winner, claiming Josh paid is the commissioner of
- 6:06Speaker 1: college football. Now we need legit just two more dominance
- 6:10Speaker 1: to fall Big ten at SEC. We get those that
- 6:12Speaker 1: two done.
- 6:13Speaker 3: It just completely dismissed the ACC. Yeah, not even there
- 6:15Speaker 3: at this point.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I mean, based on his college football bracket, right, are
- 6:18Speaker 1: we all kind of dismissing the ACC? I am you
- 6:21Speaker 1: were this year you did announce the ACEC for twenty
- 6:24Speaker 1: twenty five season.
- 6:25Speaker 2: I don't denounce. I think the only resume that's worth
- 6:28Speaker 2: talking about is Miami's.
- 6:30Speaker 1: But even then, is it worth talking about? Because because
- 6:34Speaker 1: my thing, my whole thing last night.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Did you watch this show last night?
- 6:37Speaker 1: I watched part of it, but my daughter, she was
- 6:39Speaker 1: on a swing, she hit the back of her head.
- 6:40Speaker 1: It's a whole story.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Wow.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Well, the one clan's not having a good time on
- 6:46Speaker 1: half of November.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Because he's he's on his platform saying Miami has to
- 6:51Speaker 2: be in over Notre Dame.
- 6:53Speaker 3: No, no, no, Notre Dame.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, not Dame, Notre Dame beat, or sorry, Miami
- 6:58Speaker 1: beat Notre Dame. So yes, I agree with you.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Careful, it's not that simple. It's not as simple as play.
- 7:03Speaker 3: I'm speaking sarcastically. Of course, you're right, because you know,
- 7:05Speaker 3: you play the game on the field, and you're thinking
- 7:08Speaker 3: to yourself, hey, man, if the resumes are like remotely
- 7:10Speaker 3: comparable and we've played, shouldn't I get the edge? And
- 7:14Speaker 3: then the Notre Dame calculator heads come in and like whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 7:17Speaker 3: There's so much more you need to know. And you
- 7:19Speaker 3: would sit there and listen to all that. It would
- 7:20Speaker 3: take like an hour, and then you would go, well
- 7:23Speaker 3: that just made my head spin. But still they played
- 7:26Speaker 3: on the same field, right, yes, and obviously they're comparable
- 7:31Speaker 3: because they're ranked right next to each other. Right. They
- 7:34Speaker 3: would just sit there with their mouth open and you
- 7:35Speaker 3: would say, okay, Miami over Notre Dame. Really, people overthink
- 7:38Speaker 3: the room on this stuff because they have too much
- 7:40Speaker 3: time to sit around and thing. It really doesn't have
- 7:42Speaker 3: to be that complicated. It can be if we didn't play,
- 7:44Speaker 3: but if you and I played and then our resumes
- 7:46Speaker 3: look similar. Like what a disservice to head to head
- 7:50Speaker 3: results to try and speak over them, like one of
- 7:53Speaker 3: the big talking points. I get it. If I were
- 7:54Speaker 3: a Notre Dame fan, I'd be fighting to get my
- 7:55Speaker 3: team in. I understand that one of the talking points
- 7:58Speaker 3: has been well, yeah, head to head does, Matt. It
- 8:00Speaker 3: is a data point, but it's not the only data point.
- 8:02Speaker 3: The committee needs to look at everything they are, but
- 8:04Speaker 3: the data points don't have to be weighted equally, Like
- 8:07Speaker 3: if I got a head to head result and I
- 8:09Speaker 3: beat you on the field, and then everything else is
- 8:12Speaker 3: kind of shades of gray. The most common sense viewpoint
- 8:15Speaker 3: in the world, Like my sister could walk in and say, okay,
- 8:17Speaker 3: well let's just put the head to head winner over
- 8:19Speaker 3: the head to head loser. It really is that simple. Yeah,
- 8:21Speaker 3: that's why she wins the March Madness Bracket every year.
- 8:24Speaker 3: She doesn't overthink the room, and in this case, you
- 8:26Speaker 3: don't have to overthink the room on this. You got
- 8:28Speaker 3: a result on the field and you should honor it.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Well, the way it started is what is it? Notre
- 8:34Speaker 2: Dame comes out at eight, Miami's at eighteen, Like I'm
- 8:37Speaker 2: with you. When Notre Dames started oh and two, you
- 8:41Speaker 2: look at the rest of their schedule and the majority
- 8:45Speaker 2: of college football fans is like, Notre Dame's out. There's
- 8:48Speaker 2: no way. We all know that they're probably going to
- 8:49Speaker 2: sneak in somehow, but there's no way. They start off
- 8:52Speaker 2: oh and two against Miami, who was ranked eated at
- 8:55Speaker 2: the time.
- 8:56Speaker 3: And then you lose the tx A and we talked
- 8:57Speaker 3: about it, who's.
- 8:58Speaker 2: In it again? Collectively four points of these two teams,
- 9:02Speaker 2: And you're sitting there and you look at Miami and
- 9:04Speaker 2: you are fired up for Miami because they were a
- 9:07Speaker 2: top three team at one point. And all Miami has
- 9:10Speaker 2: to do is handle their simple ACC schedule and could
- 9:15Speaker 2: lose a game, yes, and could lose one game, but
- 9:18Speaker 2: they lost two games. Like if you look at Miami,
- 9:20Speaker 2: SU and Louisville, yeah, it's like you go look at Miami, like,
- 9:24Speaker 2: just go handle your ACC schedule, which is the worst
- 9:28Speaker 2: Power four conference this year they played against their when
- 9:31Speaker 2: they played across conference against Big twelve teams, ACC went
- 9:34Speaker 2: one and six first Big twelve teams like by far
- 9:37Speaker 2: and away, the ACC is the worst conference this year
- 9:39Speaker 2: of the Power four, and all you gotta do is
- 9:41Speaker 2: go handle your ACC schedule, not including a schedule that
- 9:44Speaker 2: doesn't include Virginia nor Duke, who's both in the ACC Championship,
- 9:49Speaker 2: Georgia Tech, who was like a front runner in the
- 9:51Speaker 2: AEC until they kind of pissed on their leg there
- 9:53Speaker 2: at the end. But those three teams were on their schedule.
- 9:55Speaker 2: It was SMU pitt in Louisville and they lost to
- 9:58Speaker 2: SMU and Louisville and their overtime, which one came first,
- 10:02Speaker 2: was it? It was Louville and then they lost to
- 10:05Speaker 2: SMU and they lose right there at the end of
- 10:07Speaker 2: October or right at the beginning of November to SMU
- 10:11Speaker 2: and OT after losing to a very average Louisville team
- 10:15Speaker 2: in the ACC to where when you lost the first one,
- 10:18Speaker 2: you went from three ranking down to ten, not that
- 10:20Speaker 2: bad of a drop, but then when you lose to SMU,
- 10:23Speaker 2: who was six and three at the time in the ACC,
- 10:26Speaker 2: who lost a Baylor who had lost the TCU, who
- 10:29Speaker 2: had had some crossover against other conferences, you lose the
- 10:32Speaker 2: SMU and then you dropped to what was it like
- 10:34Speaker 2: eighteen twenty like Notre Dame, after they lost their first
- 10:37Speaker 2: two weeks, they dropped all the way to twenty four.
- 10:39Speaker 2: And it's not like they were making leap frogs bounds
- 10:42Speaker 2: up to the top ten, like incrementally they climbed throughout
- 10:45Speaker 2: the rest of the season because they skunked everybody that
- 10:47Speaker 2: they were playing. I believe a heavier ACC schedule.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I believe there was a stat as well Notre Dame
- 10:53Speaker 1: was the first team in the modern area to go
- 10:55Speaker 1: start zero to two and still being in the top
- 10:56Speaker 1: twenty five.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Is that a correct stat possibly?
- 10:58Speaker 1: I think so.
- 11:00Speaker 2: I think they started Yeah, I believe they dropped all
- 11:02Speaker 2: the way to twenty four twenty. But again, you look
- 11:03Speaker 2: at Miami, who is a good football team. I wanted
- 11:06Speaker 2: like when Miami started off the way they did, it's
- 11:09Speaker 2: like it would be great, Miami makes us run. But
- 11:11Speaker 2: when they get in these moments and Miami becomes Miami
- 11:14Speaker 2: and Carson Beck becomes Carson Beck. They lost two games
- 11:17Speaker 2: in a very average ACC schedule that they should have
- 11:19Speaker 2: easily been able to handle, and they hurt their self
- 11:22Speaker 2: doing that. To where then when the college wall playoff
- 11:25Speaker 2: rankings open up on day one, and you could say
- 11:28Speaker 2: that's where it sucked. That's where it was kind of
- 11:30Speaker 2: tough for Miami to get in the conversation. But Miami
- 11:33Speaker 2: started at eighteen when the CFP rankings came out after
- 11:37Speaker 2: again their second loss to SMU. So coming off a loss,
- 11:40Speaker 2: they get ranked at eighteen. Notre Dame gets ranked in
- 11:42Speaker 2: the top ten. So you're incrementally putting them closer together
- 11:46Speaker 2: to where now they can be side by side. But
- 11:48Speaker 2: you kind of the whole system gets messed up if
- 11:50Speaker 2: you're sitting there and it's like you just make a decision, Hey,
- 11:52Speaker 2: we're gonna put Miami in over Notre Dame.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Like I agree, Miami has his head.
- 11:57Speaker 2: To head win, but the head to head win the
- 11:59Speaker 2: only playoff caliber team Miami has faced is Notre Dame,
- 12:03Speaker 2: and it came at the very end of August against
- 12:06Speaker 2: a freshman quarterback who had his first career start at
- 12:09Speaker 2: home on your home turf in Miami, and you beat
- 12:12Speaker 2: him by three. It came down to the last three
- 12:14Speaker 2: minutes of the game. So the way Notre Dames played,
- 12:17Speaker 2: the progress that they've made, the way that they've been
- 12:19Speaker 2: beating every team by double digits, car has clearly gotten
- 12:22Speaker 2: better offensive line's gotten better, defense has been much better,
- 12:25Speaker 2: opportunists down the strets to their back of the ball,
- 12:27Speaker 2: and Jeremiah Love since that, since that third week, he's
- 12:30Speaker 2: looked like this Heisman winner or this Heisman candidate that
- 12:33Speaker 2: we all you know, you bet it on him to
- 12:34Speaker 2: be the Heisman guy before the season. But he is clearly,
- 12:37Speaker 2: debatably arguably the best player in college football. And they
- 12:40Speaker 2: have momentum with Marcus Freeman, a coach who again they
- 12:43Speaker 2: lost in Northern Illinois last year early, But where did
- 12:46Speaker 2: they end up at the end of the year The
- 12:47Speaker 2: national championship. So we're sitting here looking at the college
- 12:50Speaker 2: football playoffs and who would have the best chance to
- 12:53Speaker 2: go get a national title. It's it's kind of hard
- 12:56Speaker 2: for me to say, Yeah, Miami should very easily, without
- 12:59Speaker 2: a doubt. No debate should be in over Notre Dame
- 13:01Speaker 2: versus because of what Miami did to themselves during the
- 13:03Speaker 2: season in an ACC schedule, and the ACC sucks this year.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Yeah, my retort to that is I would pick Notre
- 13:10Speaker 3: Dame to beat Miami today. So like, no one needs
- 13:13Speaker 3: to convince me they think Notre Dame is a better team.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Like I'm telling you this is a guy. I'm a
- 13:19Speaker 3: guy who believes Miami should be over Notre Dame, and
- 13:21Speaker 3: I'm gonna grant you several points. The ACC sucks this year. Check.
- 13:24Speaker 3: It's inexcusable Miami lost those two games, no excuse for it.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Check.
- 13:28Speaker 3: I think Notre Dame is a better team than Miami.
- 13:30Speaker 5: Check.
- 13:31Speaker 3: All Right, So the first two points, those are already
- 13:34Speaker 3: baked into my opinion. They were already baked in even
- 13:37Speaker 3: going into this weekend or this last Yet last night,
- 13:40Speaker 3: when the rankings were released, you knew the AC not you.
- 13:42Speaker 3: The committee knew the ACC sucked. The committee knew that
- 13:45Speaker 3: Miami had two losses. All that's already baked into the
- 13:47Speaker 3: pie going into last night, and they're ranked within one
- 13:50Speaker 3: spot of each other. Right, Okay, so that's the current
- 13:53Speaker 3: state of affairs. Then the other part of it is,
- 13:56Speaker 3: all right, the eyeball test, which I think has carried
- 14:00Speaker 3: the day for Notre Dame so far. Like I truly
- 14:02Speaker 3: believe what's happened is they have gotten those people in
- 14:05Speaker 3: that room and there are enough people who just flat
- 14:08Speaker 3: out say what all three of us just said, We
- 14:10Speaker 3: kind of just think Notre Dame is the better team
- 14:12Speaker 3: to where that's carried today, that's seesawed heavier than the
- 14:16Speaker 3: head to head result has seesawed. The difference in me,
- 14:19Speaker 3: I think in a lot of people in that committee
- 14:21Speaker 3: is I don't care about the eyeball test that includes
- 14:23Speaker 3: my eyeball test, because we've done this show every week
- 14:26Speaker 3: this year, Right, have any of us gone close to
- 14:28Speaker 3: perfect We even last week or one.
- 14:31Speaker 2: You came close to a.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Perfect week last week, but even you went four in one, right,
- 14:34Speaker 3: which means no one's football acumen, no one's predictive nature
- 14:39Speaker 3: is flawless. So if you could ever screw up judging
- 14:42Speaker 3: a game predictably, why would I value your eyeball test
- 14:47Speaker 3: or my eyeball test when we've got critical data and
- 14:50Speaker 3: metrics that we predefine that are on a piece of paper.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Now you're right that they can't play this weekend. Neither
- 14:56Speaker 3: of those teams can play this weekend. So I look,
- 14:58Speaker 3: none of this is logic. We're applying logic to any
- 15:01Speaker 3: logical situation already, because that's just the nature of.
- 15:03Speaker 2: A telioris structure of the play.
- 15:05Speaker 3: But I understand someone driving around right now, or someone
- 15:09Speaker 3: just hanging out and there watching the show and they're thinking,
- 15:11Speaker 3: all right, even having set all that word salad, if
- 15:14Speaker 3: both of these teams are ranked where they are, neither
- 15:17Speaker 3: of them play this weekend, how could one ever jump
- 15:20Speaker 3: the other one? And the answer is it shouldn't happen.
- 15:23Speaker 3: The answer part B is Miami should have already been
- 15:25Speaker 3: a head of Notre Dame in my opinion. But Part
- 15:26Speaker 3: C is I think it can still happen because of
- 15:29Speaker 3: the ACC doomsday scenario that we have telegraphed on this
- 15:32Speaker 3: show for like a month. We've been talking about this
- 15:35Speaker 3: as a possibility, but we're here now seven and five.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Duke could win the ACC Saturday, and if they do,
- 15:42Speaker 3: they're not going to the playoff because they won't be
- 15:44Speaker 3: one of the five highest rank conference champs. So you'll
- 15:47Speaker 3: have the SEC's Champ, the Big Tens Champ, the Big
- 15:49Speaker 3: Twelves Champ. You'll get two G five's in there, and
- 15:52Speaker 3: then it'll just be up to seven more spots for
- 15:55Speaker 3: at large teams. And I believe if Brigham Young loses
- 15:59Speaker 3: that Big twelve championship game, I think they would remove
- 16:02Speaker 3: themselves from being the last remaining team between Notre Dame
- 16:05Speaker 3: and Miami, and I think that would just put Notre
- 16:07Speaker 3: Dame in Miami head to head on selection Sunday, and
- 16:10Speaker 3: the committee would have to look at that. If Duke
- 16:12Speaker 3: wins the ACC Championship game, the committee would have to
- 16:16Speaker 3: look at that and say, well, we either put Miami
- 16:20Speaker 3: in or we don't put an ACC team in. And
- 16:23Speaker 3: I don't really care. Like You're right, the ACC's hot garbage.
- 16:26Speaker 3: It's terrible this year. This system was not built to
- 16:29Speaker 3: lock out power for conferences. It was not built to
- 16:33Speaker 3: exclude an entire power conference at the expense of having
- 16:36Speaker 3: multiple G five teams in just not the way it
- 16:38Speaker 3: was built. It's an ATM and it's built to spit
- 16:41Speaker 3: money a certain way. It's unpopular to say, but that's
- 16:43Speaker 3: the reality of it. I think that committee could take
- 16:46Speaker 3: another hard look at Notre Dame Miami given light of
- 16:50Speaker 3: that new situation, and at the eleventh hour, jump Miami,
- 16:54Speaker 3: and if you think that's impossible. Hunter Yurchik has largely
- 16:57Speaker 3: been a train wreck the playoff committee chair when he
- 16:59Speaker 3: explained this stuff, But one thing Rhese Davis pinned him
- 17:02Speaker 3: down on last night is could idle teams move? Could
- 17:07Speaker 3: there be movement between idle teams the final conference championship weekend,
- 17:12Speaker 3: and he said, yes, they can move. He refused to
- 17:15Speaker 3: say that the rankings for teams that aren't playing this
- 17:18Speaker 3: weekend are fixed. So they move Bama up ahead of
- 17:21Speaker 3: Notre Dame last night. So Notre Dame got one spot
- 17:24Speaker 3: closer to Miami if Brigham Young loses, and they're nearly
- 17:27Speaker 3: a two touchdown underdog. If they lose, that's the last
- 17:30Speaker 3: remaining team between Notre Dame and Miami, at which point
- 17:33Speaker 3: on selection Sunday, those two will be right next to
- 17:35Speaker 3: each other. And you're telling me that the head to
- 17:37Speaker 3: head result with teams that comparable is not going to
- 17:41Speaker 3: push Miami over the finish line. I believe it would.
- 17:44Speaker 2: It could. I mean, how much is like money and
- 17:46Speaker 2: ratings and.
- 17:47Speaker 3: That doesn't matter. You're telling me that matters.
- 17:50Speaker 2: You don't think any of the money matters.
- 17:53Speaker 3: That's a brand like Notre Dame out.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Of the keep it a brand like Notre Dame out
- 17:57Speaker 2: of the playoff when they started at A like their system, Yeah,
- 18:01Speaker 2: their system Notre Dame started at A. They've been in
- 18:04Speaker 2: the playoff the whole time, and you're gonna say the
- 18:07Speaker 2: way that they've been beating everybody handedly that they're slowly
- 18:11Speaker 2: just going to trickle out and then they're just going
- 18:12Speaker 2: to be out of the college football playoff.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Remember this this past weekend. It's not like nothing happened
- 18:17Speaker 3: this past weekend. Okay, Notre Dame's demolition of pit a
- 18:21Speaker 3: few weeks ago, that was a really big talking point,
- 18:23Speaker 3: Like that really boosted Notre Names resume. Remember that's a
- 18:26Speaker 3: ranked versus rings. You didn't care game days up there, like,
- 18:30Speaker 3: that's that's all well and good, you go beat them,
- 18:32Speaker 3: I think thirty seven to fifteen or something like that.
- 18:34Speaker 3: All right, So the committee really said, man, that's that's
- 18:36Speaker 3: great for Notre Dame, which it was. Miami just went
- 18:38Speaker 3: and beat the same pit team in the same building.
- 18:41Speaker 3: By more, I didn't even hear anyone mention it last night.
- 18:43Speaker 3: It's almost like it didn't even happen. So I'm not
- 18:46Speaker 3: saying that should be.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I mean, you know, Miami has the day that they
- 18:49Speaker 2: were up, Like it's like I want to say, they
- 18:51Speaker 2: were up and they're still throwing the ball deep in
- 18:53Speaker 2: the did you watch Notre Names trying to get this
- 18:56Speaker 2: point at this point in the season, you need to
- 18:58Speaker 2: make that not Miami, I like sitting where they're sitting at.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Yeah, Notre Dame did the same thing against Stanford. They should.
- 19:04Speaker 3: You got to run it up. It's not disrespectful to
- 19:06Speaker 3: the game. It's respecting the system or acknowledging the system.
- 19:10Speaker 2: I just think it would be bizarre again being ranked eight.
- 19:13Speaker 2: It would the way that they've mopped everybody throughout the
- 19:16Speaker 2: rest of the year, since these rankings come out weekly,
- 19:18Speaker 2: that they've just crept out and now they're out of
- 19:21Speaker 2: the college world.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Yeah, to be inexcusable to try and explain it, because
- 19:24Speaker 3: there will be no explanation. And your sin was you
- 19:27Speaker 3: probably had Miami too low to begin with, Like bumping
- 19:30Speaker 3: them down to fifteen would be okay because you could
- 19:32Speaker 3: still make the argument if Notre Dame's eight in Miami's
- 19:34Speaker 3: fifteen on that Tuesday night, you could say, the head
- 19:37Speaker 3: to head doesn't matter yet because they're not close enough.
- 19:39Speaker 3: They're not in the same comparative pool. We haven't had
- 19:41Speaker 3: a chance to apply the head to head. And then
- 19:43Speaker 3: when Miami creeps up closer finally, like the light clicks
- 19:46Speaker 3: on and you're in the same comparative pool and the
- 19:49Speaker 3: head to head matters, And that's when Miami jumps Notre Dame.
- 19:51Speaker 3: They didn't do that, So if my theory is correct,
- 19:54Speaker 3: they're gonna have to do it after both of their
- 19:57Speaker 3: seasons have already been completed for over a week. And
- 20:00Speaker 3: then imagine trying to explain.
- 20:01Speaker 2: That no and too, It's like across the college FOOTBA landscape, fans, players, coaches, everybody,
- 20:08Speaker 2: when is the best time to lose early in the year,
- 20:11Speaker 2: And Notre Dame they get collectively four points to a
- 20:14Speaker 2: good A and M team, a good Miami team, and
- 20:17Speaker 2: they've done nothing but take care of business since then,
- 20:19Speaker 2: Whereas like, I'm rooting for Miami, but you lose those
- 20:22Speaker 2: two games in the ACC, bro, and then I'm wanting
- 20:24Speaker 2: to watch both teams Like in the college fall Playoff,
- 20:27Speaker 2: I want to believe in the talent and crystal Ball, which,
- 20:29Speaker 2: by the way, you know pay T had Chris Ball
- 20:31Speaker 2: like he's tight in, he's tied in with he's got.
- 20:34Speaker 1: The numbers, he's the numbers you need to have to
- 20:35Speaker 1: be tied into the.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't see a photo with Freeman post game
- 20:38Speaker 2: to where they're kind of talking shopping. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 20:43Speaker 2: But it's like I just think it Coach Freeman, like
- 20:45Speaker 2: it's like Carson Beck, Carlson Beck like him in the
- 20:49Speaker 2: big moment on the big stage, do we really think
- 20:51Speaker 2: Miami is going to do some damage based on what
- 20:54Speaker 2: we've seen, based.
- 20:55Speaker 1: On his season in the biggest moment, in the biggest stage.
- 20:58Speaker 1: He actually did answer that question. It's when the they
- 21:01Speaker 1: went behind the closed door and they had to play
- 21:03Speaker 1: the shitty acc schedule. They're like a couple of times
- 21:06Speaker 1: because the.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Was Notre Dame in the beginning of the year and
- 21:10Speaker 2: never had the questions of Carson Beck was it Carson
- 21:12Speaker 2: Beck problem?
- 21:13Speaker 1: And was George of the problem? Carson Beck and Carson
- 21:15Speaker 1: Beck came out there and lit up Notre Dame.
- 21:17Speaker 3: He became the favorite for a little while.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and then there's a defensive on CJ. Carr picks
- 21:22Speaker 1: against Louisville.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Well, hey, so you want to play the.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Game, I'm saying, that's that will, that's in a different room.
- 21:27Speaker 1: That's that's the the lights are off.
- 21:29Speaker 3: That's like that's practice field, right, that's.
- 21:32Speaker 1: We're talking about. The lights are on. It is week zero,
- 21:35Speaker 1: Week one, and we're all so excited. Look at this matchup.
- 21:38Speaker 1: We have this resurgence of a rivalry between Miami and
- 21:41Speaker 1: Notre Dame and these two guys coming out of it
- 21:43Speaker 1: a freshman and Carson Beck who's trying to resurrect his
- 21:45Speaker 1: career out like last year was a heisman. I think
- 21:48Speaker 1: he was a front runner last year. Right, he comes
- 21:50Speaker 1: into Miami and dices under their name wall everybody's watching,
- 21:54Speaker 1: and then nobody's watching and he funks up. It's like,
- 21:57Speaker 1: does that really matter that much? So you put him
- 21:59Speaker 1: back the big stage and we've already had them on
- 22:02Speaker 1: the big stage. Is you're not just gonna do it again?
- 22:04Speaker 1: Because I'm willing to say, I think if we sat here,
- 22:07Speaker 1: we went to Notre Dame Miami, if Notre Dame can
- 22:09Speaker 1: or Miami can find their way to get up in
- 22:11Speaker 1: a game, those those defensive ends, eight that offensive line
- 22:14Speaker 1: and get again, because that's not just may the offensive
- 22:17Speaker 1: line's gotten better. Look how much better that Look at
- 22:19Speaker 1: the talent they've played against. Yeah, and then it's like
- 22:22Speaker 1: you're going to sleep. If you're the left tackle and
- 22:24Speaker 1: right tackle and you're dreaming about those guys, you're like,
- 22:26Speaker 1: oh shit, I gotta see them again. I thought they
- 22:28Speaker 1: were a thing of the past. I thought I didn't
- 22:29Speaker 1: have to touch them again. Now all of a sudden
- 22:30Speaker 1: you're going to see them on a neutral field where
- 22:32Speaker 1: the same shit is going to happen.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Can I also say one thing, all right, the Louisville
- 22:36Speaker 3: SMU losses, I don't have to try and defend that
- 22:39Speaker 3: to make Miami's case, Like, I think I can bake
- 22:41Speaker 3: those losses into the pie and still make the pie
- 22:44Speaker 3: presentable enough. People talk about all unranked losses like they're
- 22:48Speaker 3: the same thing. Like you could lose to Akron who's
- 22:51Speaker 3: number one thirty, or lose to Louisville who's number twenty eight.
- 22:54Speaker 3: People just talk about them like they're the same losses.
- 22:56Speaker 3: They're not the same losses. Like Louisville and SMU are
- 22:59Speaker 3: not elite teams. They're not terrible teams. They're just okay teams.
- 23:04Speaker 3: So when you lose to them, yeah, like it ought
- 23:08Speaker 3: to have the impact on your resume, that losing to
- 23:10Speaker 3: an okay team would have both of them. It's not
- 23:13Speaker 3: we lost to like ungodly terrible teams. We were four
- 23:16Speaker 3: touchdown favorites or anything like that. And the other thing
- 23:18Speaker 3: is what I'm about to say, I don't believe should matter,
- 23:21Speaker 3: but the committee uses it all the time. So I
- 23:23Speaker 3: could weaponize their logic against them. You want to start
- 23:25Speaker 3: talking about specific injuries and what teams were at one point. Well,
- 23:29Speaker 3: Isaac Brown, who's the best player in Louisville's team tailbag,
- 23:32Speaker 3: was still healthy when they played Miami. Then he got
- 23:34Speaker 3: hurt and they fell off down the stretch, which makes
- 23:37Speaker 3: their record look worse. They're ranked when Miami played them,
- 23:40Speaker 3: and they were probably a ranked caliber team when Miami
- 23:42Speaker 3: played them. Again, I don't believe in this logic. I'm
- 23:44Speaker 3: just saying, since the committee disingenuously uses this kind of logic,
- 23:49Speaker 3: I feel free to use it.
- 23:50Speaker 1: So you're saying that the committee used the logic of
- 23:52Speaker 1: when these teams played they were ranked there for.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Here's what the committee does. The Committee does not actually
- 23:57Speaker 3: decide the rankings. A computer does. The Committee then slaps
- 23:59Speaker 3: their name on it, and they go on TV and
- 24:02Speaker 3: like reverse engineer logic to excuse away or explain rankings
- 24:06Speaker 3: that they themselves are not responsible for. And the reason
- 24:09Speaker 3: I know that to be true is because we're in
- 24:11Speaker 3: coaching season right now, so we're in coaching search mode,
- 24:14Speaker 3: and Florida and Auburn and LSU and Ole Miss Penn
- 24:18Speaker 3: State like they've all been wrapped up in this stuff.
- 24:20Speaker 3: You can go on Twitter every ten minutes and hit
- 24:22Speaker 3: refresh and get new leaked information about coaching searches right best,
- 24:27Speaker 3: and you just sit there and wonder, like, wow, so
- 24:30Speaker 3: much of this information comes out, and these athletic directors
- 24:33Speaker 3: they're involved in that process and all the information leaks.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Yet you're putting athletic directors in a room to decide
- 24:39Speaker 3: the rankings, and no information about the process ever leaks.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Do you ever wonder how that's strange, How information from
- 24:47Speaker 3: something that should be way more highly classified does leak,
- 24:50Speaker 3: like a coaching search. But when it comes to twelve
- 24:52Speaker 3: or thirteen of you in a room where you're allegedly hot,
- 24:56Speaker 3: like hot heavenly debating the rankings. Dude, on TV last night,
- 24:59Speaker 3: Sai Manda, the notre name Alabama debate.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Was intense, so fourth down, Oh dude, it.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Was so intense. Why don't those details ever come out?
- 25:07Speaker 3: No details ever come out? It's cause they're lying to
- 25:10Speaker 3: you and a computer spits that stuff out and then
- 25:13Speaker 3: they just kind of slapped their name on the side
- 25:15Speaker 3: of it, and then they have to go on TV
- 25:16Speaker 3: and try and explain the rankings process. But they didn't
- 25:19Speaker 3: really take part in it. That's how you get this garbage. Like, well,
- 25:22Speaker 3: you know, Alabama, they were up seventeen to nothing at
- 25:24Speaker 3: one point versus Auburn. Yeah, but they were also tied
- 25:27Speaker 3: at one point versus Auburn later in the game. Yeah,
- 25:30Speaker 3: they ran the ball Okay. Plus it's a rivalry game. Boy,
- 25:32Speaker 3: that coordinator really made a ballsy call on fourth down.
- 25:35Speaker 3: These are not data points. This is just minutia. This
- 25:38Speaker 3: is stuff you say. It's like when your mom just
- 25:41Speaker 3: was too tired to take you to the park when
- 25:43Speaker 3: you were growing up, and she said, mommy's got a
- 25:46Speaker 3: lot of stuff to do tonight. She didn't have anything
- 25:48Speaker 3: to do, She just didn't want to take you to
- 25:50Speaker 3: the park. She could have just told you, we're not
- 25:51Speaker 3: going to the park because I don't feel like it.
- 25:53Speaker 3: The committee could just say these are the rankings. Calls
- 25:55Speaker 3: we say these are the rankings, But instead it's so
- 25:58Speaker 3: much stuff that doesn't matter or that shouldn't matter. It's
- 26:01Speaker 3: so incongruent. Logically, you could take whatever he said last
- 26:04Speaker 3: night about Alabama, and I could twist that frame of
- 26:07Speaker 3: logic to excuse away anything. I could put Texas at
- 26:10Speaker 3: number seven somehow Someway using the Bent logic that Hunter
- 26:14Speaker 3: your a check in, not just him, but like all
- 26:16Speaker 3: of the committee chairs have used in the past. So
- 26:19Speaker 3: to say I have a little bit of an issue
- 26:21Speaker 3: with the process would be accurate.
- 26:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:23Speaker 2: I think if Miami gets in, just the more of
- 26:25Speaker 2: a case where the power of the future college football
- 26:27Speaker 2: commissioner would be alive and well, Miami all of a
- 26:30Speaker 2: sudden gets in. He after he releases his clip and
- 26:33Speaker 2: stance on Miami getting in over Notre Dame.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Hey, I'm not a Notre Dame should join a conference guy.
- 26:37Speaker 3: I don't care what they do. I'd find with them
- 26:39Speaker 3: either way. However, this is one of the first times
- 26:43Speaker 3: they may have to pay a price for not being
- 26:45Speaker 3: in a conference. If they were in a conference title
- 26:46Speaker 3: game Saturday, we're probably in. Yeah, because I think I
- 26:50Speaker 3: think Alabama's in regardless because they're playing in a conference
- 26:53Speaker 3: title game. Notre Dame would probably be in regardless. Miami
- 26:56Speaker 3: would probably have to sit at home because you'd be
- 26:58Speaker 3: sitting here talking about Notre Dame earning the right to
- 27:01Speaker 3: play in the game. You get that extra data point
- 27:03Speaker 3: like win a conference and you're in, of course, But
- 27:05Speaker 3: I think even losing a conference title game, especially a
- 27:08Speaker 3: big one like the Big Ten or the SEC, that
- 27:11Speaker 3: earns you a little bit of a bump in the
- 27:12Speaker 3: committee's mind.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Yeah. I think last year when the or whenever the
- 27:16Speaker 1: twelve team playoff came out, it was like, hey, this
- 27:18Speaker 1: five and six slot, that's kind of Notre Dames forever, right,
- 27:21Speaker 1: because they get to live in this independent world. But
- 27:23Speaker 1: one thing you brought up with the committee and using
- 27:26Speaker 1: old games when teams were ranked, so like a team
- 27:29Speaker 1: played a team that was ranked at that time, now
- 27:30Speaker 1: they're no longer ranking. That's a reason why this team
- 27:32Speaker 1: should be bumped up higher. If that is logic that
- 27:35Speaker 1: the committee is using, why isn't Vanderbilt in then because.
- 27:38Speaker 3: They don't apply it evenly?
- 27:40Speaker 1: But that yeah, because the logic that the committe would
- 27:42Speaker 1: have just said, then Vanderbilt has four top twenty five
- 27:45Speaker 1: wins in one top ten.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Yep, and they're ten and two selectively apply it.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:50Speaker 1: And so I'm looking at the thing last night and
- 27:51Speaker 1: I understand the Miami Notre Dame argument that's not near
- 27:54Speaker 1: as interesting to me is like, why is Vanderbilt sitting
- 27:57Speaker 1: behind Texas? And everybody's answer is, well, Texas beat Vanderbilt,
- 28:00Speaker 1: but Texas is nine to three, Vanderbilt is ten and
- 28:04Speaker 1: two in a conference that you've said is the most
- 28:06Speaker 1: stacked middle pack conference of all time or at this point.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I do think the SEC has a great step.
- 28:12Speaker 1: They have the most depth they've gone through the SEC.
- 28:15Speaker 1: They've won the SC. They beat Missouri when Missouri's rinking
- 28:17Speaker 1: college game Day was there. They beat South Carolina when
- 28:20Speaker 1: they were eleventh in the entire country at that time.
- 28:22Speaker 1: It was going off of the skill players they had
- 28:24Speaker 1: coming back and the run they had last year, and
- 28:26Speaker 1: so at that point, I think we all viewed South
- 28:28Speaker 1: Carolina as a possible contender in the SEC. So why
- 28:31Speaker 1: is Vanderbilt being hurt and put at fourteen when I
- 28:34Speaker 1: think they should be in? And I think it's not
- 28:36Speaker 1: in so much of the Miami and Notre Dame argument.
- 28:40Speaker 1: It's more of like, that's where this G five thing,
- 28:43Speaker 1: I keep coming back to it, and I'm like, these guys, Yeah,
- 28:47Speaker 1: I'd love.
- 28:47Speaker 2: To see all these teams just being a playoff so
- 28:49Speaker 2: you can watch them.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Play Vanderbilt against the Tulane of the North Texas or
- 28:53Speaker 1: all these other G five teams. It's like.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Just put Vandy in their leagues. Yeah, you know, you
- 28:59Speaker 3: have to have them, had to for all that, for
- 29:00Speaker 3: all I care. Put Vandy in the ACC. Like Vandy's
- 29:03Speaker 3: running the ACC right now in their top four lock.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Yeah, topayer, they're undefeated eleven one.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Well, probably do the same thing in the Big twelve,
- 29:10Speaker 3: to be honest, this year, probably it's them in Texas
- 29:13Speaker 3: Tech in the Big twelve by a fairly good margin.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean yeah, Texas Tech to me is just
- 29:19Speaker 1: there's Texas Tech and then there's the rest of the
- 29:21Speaker 1: Big Gap and everybody else.
- 29:22Speaker 2: The hard part is when you're sitting there arguing like
- 29:24Speaker 2: Texas Vandy. Texas did beat Vandy. Vandy was coming back,
- 29:28Speaker 2: but that could have easily been a blowout by Texas.
- 29:31Speaker 2: They also lost to the logic.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Of it could have been a blowout, Like we're not
- 29:35Speaker 1: We're sitting there and Texas goes as to this big lead.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Everyone's like, Vandy cannot come from behind. They're not built
- 29:41Speaker 1: that way. The first quarter, there's tweets going out saying
- 29:44Speaker 1: this game is over. That was fun, It was cool
- 29:46Speaker 1: to it was exciting to talk about Vandy for a
- 29:48Speaker 1: little bit. Vandy comes back and at one point we're
- 29:50Speaker 1: sitting there watching on side kick for them to kind
- 29:53Speaker 1: of recover. But Yo, they might actually fucking do this.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Judge the football game for the four quarters that it is, right.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Texas is the entire game. Can't just say, hey, they
- 30:01Speaker 1: went out to this massively and it wasn't Alabama seventeen.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Yeah, that's how dumb it is to say, well, they
- 30:05Speaker 3: were up seventeen. Texas did the.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Same thing against Misissippi State coming back from the right.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and in Texas the wire with Kentucky and Mississippi State,
- 30:12Speaker 1: Like you're saying, it's like, well, if that's a factor,
- 30:15Speaker 1: then we should put that in.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Also, if with the depths of the depth of the
- 30:18Speaker 2: SEC conference, because I do think it is the deepest
- 30:21Speaker 2: conference this year. Now, at the end of the year,
- 30:23Speaker 2: you look at Vanderbilt's resume, they beat one one top
- 30:27Speaker 2: half SEC team, only one team in the top eight
- 30:30Speaker 2: and it was missoo was dollars, a third string quarterback,
- 30:34Speaker 2: everybody else. When they had their shot against Obama and
- 30:37Speaker 2: Texas they lost. So if you're sitting there looking at
- 30:40Speaker 2: all the SEC teams, because how many how many are
- 30:42Speaker 2: in there right now?
- 30:43Speaker 1: Four Alabama for Georgia, Oklahoma. Yeah four four, But yeah,
- 30:51Speaker 1: so you got four teams in there.
- 30:52Speaker 5: Couldn't that same logic be said about A and M.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Yeah, bute loss.
- 30:57Speaker 2: So when we're sitting there picking the game last week
- 30:59Speaker 2: and you're looking at who A and M's face that
- 31:02Speaker 2: all their wins have been against bottom half teams are
- 31:03Speaker 2: finally playing a top half team in the SEC. But
- 31:06Speaker 2: A and M was undefeated. Now it's like, you have
- 31:08Speaker 2: the entire resume at Vanderbilt and if you're putting it
- 31:10Speaker 2: against Miami, Notre Dame and then Texas. In the conversation,
- 31:14Speaker 2: if you just look at Vanderbilt as a whole, as
- 31:15Speaker 2: a ten and two team, because I think it sucks
- 31:17Speaker 2: a ten and two SEC team is going to be
- 31:19Speaker 2: on the outside. They're gonna get screwed. They're not going
- 31:21Speaker 2: to get in the College Wall playoff. But if you
- 31:23Speaker 2: do look at their resume as a whole, they've beat
- 31:24Speaker 2: one top half SEC team and it was Missouri and
- 31:27Speaker 2: it was zalars as a third string.
- 31:28Speaker 3: See, you're never gonna You're never gonna sell me on
- 31:30Speaker 3: the fact that going to Niland Stadium and beating Tennessee
- 31:33Speaker 3: last week is not a top half sec win. That
- 31:36Speaker 3: is a that's a big time Tennessee.
- 31:38Speaker 1: They ended up on the bottle. That's just Will and
- 31:40Speaker 1: I are arguing the same points a different way. The
- 31:42Speaker 1: similar to you were saying you could you can misconstrue everything.
- 31:45Speaker 1: The guy said to put Texas at seven. You're saying,
- 31:49Speaker 1: look at their look at their wins. They only had
- 31:51Speaker 1: one top twenty five win and it was Missouri bah
- 31:53Speaker 1: bah blah, or one top ten win.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Not not yet, yeah, but if not.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Like one time, I'm looking at the schedule of where
- 31:59Speaker 1: do we sit in Week one where we had South Carolina, Missouri,
- 32:03Speaker 1: all these other teams were sitting in top fifteen or above,
- 32:06Speaker 1: top twenty and above, and they played those teams when
- 32:09Speaker 1: they were ranked in that position because at the time
- 32:11Speaker 1: the whole world have viewed them as that way. I
- 32:14Speaker 1: personally think there needs to be more weight put on that.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Like you look at a South Carolina win. Now, no
- 32:19Speaker 1: disrespect JP, but it doesn't hold a whole lot of
- 32:21Speaker 1: weight back then when it played. When they played, it
- 32:25Speaker 1: was a massive business. Eleven South Carolina versus Vana Belt
- 32:28Speaker 1: their first true test. Are they really going to get
- 32:31Speaker 1: it done? Are they were really contenders?
- 32:32Speaker 2: In the SEC.
- 32:33Speaker 1: They won that game and was like, holy shit, Vanderbilt. Man,
- 32:35Speaker 1: look at them. Now, South Carolina had the things that
- 32:38Speaker 1: happened to them, injuries happened throughout the season and running
- 32:40Speaker 1: back from Louisville. But I look at how did everything start?
- 32:44Speaker 1: How did everybody kind of view these teams from a
- 32:46Speaker 1: top twenty five standpoint? And when they played? When they played,
- 32:49Speaker 1: did they have a number next to their name?
- 32:50Speaker 3: If they did, that counts for something extremely holistically. I've
- 32:54Speaker 3: always been a huge proponent of what you're saying, of
- 32:56Speaker 3: defining the value of a game and a win or
- 32:58Speaker 3: loss at the time.
- 32:59Speaker 1: It happened, because if injury go ahead.
- 33:01Speaker 3: But also, how can I how do I not know
- 33:04Speaker 3: that the Vandy result started the precipitous decline of South
- 33:09Speaker 3: Carolina season? Like I can't prove that, but you can't
- 33:11Speaker 3: prove it didn't happen. Yeah, So I may be like
- 33:13Speaker 3: I'm being punished my strength the schedule could be getting
- 33:16Speaker 3: punished because I beat teams just like Oregon. Oregon goes
- 33:19Speaker 3: and beats Penn State. Penn State falls off a cliff. Well,
- 33:21Speaker 3: Penn State's not falling off a cliff. If the organ
- 33:23Speaker 3: laws doesn't.
- 33:24Speaker 1: They're still a top twenty five roster.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Yes, it's evidenced of how they played against Indiana, but
- 33:29Speaker 3: Oregan's getting punished because of what they did to Penn State. So,
- 33:33Speaker 3: like with exceptions, I'm always going to say there are
- 33:35Speaker 3: exceptions to this rule with a few exceptions. I've always
- 33:38Speaker 3: been a fan of defining that. And that does mean
- 33:40Speaker 3: that you may play South Carolina in Week four and
- 33:43Speaker 3: I may play them in Week eleven and we both
- 33:45Speaker 3: beat them by the same score, but you get more
- 33:46Speaker 3: credit for it than I do. That may mean that.
- 33:49Speaker 1: I think that's okay. It could mean that right, because
- 33:51Speaker 1: things happen, things take place. That's what makes football so amazing.
- 33:54Speaker 1: The thing that starts in week one is never the
- 33:56Speaker 1: same in a week fourteen. That's what makes it awesome.
- 34:00Speaker 3: I think we solved everything.
- 34:01Speaker 1: I think we saw ship. We're just circles ty service.
- 34:05Speaker 1: I know we don't get to this game the last yek.
- 34:06Speaker 2: It's gonna be nuts. We get the two G five
- 34:08Speaker 2: scenario in I kind.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Of hope it happened.
- 34:10Speaker 3: A couple of seventeen plus point mad.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Yeah, at the end of the day, we're just gonna
- 34:15Speaker 2: be mad. We're just angry that these that these teams
- 34:18Speaker 2: were arguing about, arguing for like just handle your business right, yes,
- 34:21Speaker 2: when you're expected to handle your business.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Because if this happens, we have the G five teams
- 34:25Speaker 1: in and the option for us to fly even with
- 34:28Speaker 1: Josh and go to Oregon versus some G five team
- 34:32Speaker 1: just to watch Orgon mop them. I'm gonna be sitting
- 34:35Speaker 1: in our room being like, guys, we gotta go to
- 34:36Speaker 1: Oregon to watch this blood bath. Did what they land
- 34:39Speaker 1: and have a little good.
- 34:40Speaker 3: Time and just sip some wine probably in the second half.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Yeah, probably leave, yeah at halftime. But that was great,
- 34:46Speaker 1: great playoff game.
- 34:47Speaker 3: You're really trending right now towards having two first round games. Really,
- 34:50Speaker 3: if you think about it, Yeah, look at all the
- 34:52Speaker 3: projections you've got to You got like Notre Dame, Texas
- 34:55Speaker 3: A and M. You've got Oklahoma Obama, and then you've
- 34:57Speaker 3: got two games where the spread will be close to
- 34:59Speaker 3: three touches ounce, which is insane.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Yeah, State from last year teams at home last years
- 35:06Speaker 1: before we getting his board and then we'll go quickly.
- 35:07Speaker 1: But Penn State coaching search, are we still am I
- 35:11Speaker 1: still winning on a call?
- 35:12Speaker 2: But hey, in Congress to b YU, I know we're
- 35:15Speaker 2: keeping their boy there. Yeah sure, I mean that's big
- 35:18Speaker 2: for by keeping their guys. Just from my understanding of
- 35:21Speaker 2: the timeline and everything else, shot out Liam Blumtman. I
- 35:24Speaker 2: was following him very closely. Yeah, dude, he seemed like
- 35:27Speaker 2: a little bit. It seemed like it was right there.
- 35:30Speaker 2: They were at the goal line with getting him to
- 35:32Speaker 2: Penn State, and then b YU gets their boy. They
- 35:35Speaker 2: pushed the team meeting. They're all at his house, they're
- 35:37Speaker 2: all talking into it. Money's coming elsewhere from these companies.
- 35:40Speaker 2: What is it?
- 35:40Speaker 3: Crumble Yes, Crumble Cookies, Crumble Cookies, Trumble Cookies, Crumble for
- 35:45Speaker 3: b YU like big dogs.
- 35:46Speaker 2: Coming in the room with the blessing of the church,
- 35:48Speaker 2: coming in the room, throwing.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Out massive contracts, throws up with the blessing, with the
- 35:53Speaker 3: blessing of the He went, Crumble Cookies went more American
- 35:55Speaker 3: Prime Evil on Penn State, yea than American Prime Evil itself.
- 36:02Speaker 1: If you watch American Prime Evil and then you look
- 36:03Speaker 1: at Crumble Cookies, you're gonna be like, that's not.
- 36:05Speaker 3: The modern day version.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Yeah, they're scalped. They scalped Penn State.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Spoiler alert, but yeah.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Do you have any clue what's going on with Penn State?
- 36:13Speaker 3: They don't. How could I they don't. I've spoken my
- 36:16Speaker 3: piece on Matt Campbell. Apparently they're not targeting him, but
- 36:19Speaker 3: then again, they don't know who they are targeting.
- 36:21Speaker 2: So it was Brian Harline at one point in time,
- 36:22Speaker 2: but which UCF.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Now it's a real dereliction of duty I think by
- 36:29Speaker 3: the athletic director up there. I don't know if he's
- 36:31Speaker 3: gonna have his job much longer. And you guys have
- 36:32Speaker 3: never heard me call for someone's job, because I don't
- 36:34Speaker 3: really do that. But I don't know how like, this
- 36:37Speaker 3: is a really it's not an elite job. It's not Michigan,
- 36:39Speaker 3: it's not Ohio State, it's not Oregon. But dude, this
- 36:42Speaker 3: is still the Penn State job. You can't convince me
- 36:45Speaker 3: that this thing's been turned down this much just because
- 36:47Speaker 3: the job's not good. It's because of who's running the
- 36:50Speaker 3: coaching search. And if you can't run a successful football
- 36:52Speaker 3: coaching search, Number one, you don't deserve your job as
- 36:55Speaker 3: an ad. Number two, don't fire your playoff caliber coach
- 36:59Speaker 3: before you have a pretty good idea of who you
- 37:00Speaker 3: could go get to replace him. So to answer your question, yeah,
- 37:04Speaker 3: keep your phone close, the call could come. You've got
- 37:07Speaker 3: experience in the big ten. I do you know what?
- 37:09Speaker 1: I would you know several of them immediately and know
- 37:12Speaker 1: why ill being Knitney aligned to my boy Mitch.
- 37:15Speaker 3: No, you're out.
- 37:16Speaker 1: I'm out no amount of money.
- 37:17Speaker 3: And then that story hasn't been told publicly.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Yep, I have the Penn State job.
- 37:22Speaker 5: I haven't heard anything from my sources of what's going
- 37:24Speaker 5: on or if my source even has a job anymore.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Low though, Mitch, fuck your source, right? Hey?
- 37:31Speaker 2: Is everything good up north?
- 37:39Speaker 1: I really don't know. At this point, me saying anything
- 37:42Speaker 1: would just be feeding into Twitter sphere. There's allegations, there's allegedlies,
- 37:46Speaker 1: a lot of allegedlies being thrown around in the Michigan world.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Right now, it's more exciting to look at and just
- 37:52Speaker 1: if you just separate, If I separate myself from being
- 37:55Speaker 1: an alumni someone that played there, and I can just
- 37:58Speaker 1: sit back and kind of wash the chaos and the
- 38:00Speaker 1: shoes that you kind of do, that's where I find
- 38:02Speaker 1: more enjoyment. If I go, I'm like, this does not
- 38:04Speaker 1: seem It seems more scary than anything else. Yeah, scary world.
- 38:09Speaker 2: We'll see. We are also brought to you by Form Energy.

- 38:29Speaker 2: home and still give it your all. You are a
- 38:31Speaker 2: Form Energy guy. Form Energy, we do the work. Back
- 38:34Speaker 2: to this episode, we'll see what happens, Shollie. Yeah, let's
- 38:37Speaker 2: let's dive in. Let's dive in North Texas TU Lane
- 38:40Speaker 2: Big time matchup winners going to the college football play
- 38:43Speaker 2: oh two lane underdogs, North Texas favored by two and
- 38:47Speaker 2: a half. The over under on this game sixty six
- 38:50Speaker 2: and a half points.
- 38:52Speaker 3: Both coaches are gone. Both coaches are gone, by the way,
- 38:55Speaker 3: I mean they're leaving. They're coaching the game. Both coaches
- 38:58Speaker 3: have taken new jobs.
- 39:00Speaker 2: But who's bought in more.
- 39:04Speaker 1: I'll tell you what. When I went after the G
- 39:06Speaker 1: five thing. I had two text messages about it from
- 39:10Speaker 1: people that went to G five schools. Cody January and
- 39:12Speaker 1: Sean January both went to high school with them. They
- 39:14Speaker 1: went to North Texas Januaries January the January brothers. By
- 39:17Speaker 1: the way, Sean January. Back in the day, that two
- 39:19Speaker 1: thousand and six state championship team from Catch Shadows over
- 39:21Speaker 1: one hundred tackles, middle linebacker, just a salty white boy,
- 39:25Speaker 1: paper bones though, could never stay healthy anyway. They text
- 39:29Speaker 1: me and they're like, how could you come at our
- 39:30Speaker 1: team like da? And I said, hey, brother, this is
- 39:32Speaker 1: just the reality. So for that reason, I'll be taking
- 39:35Speaker 1: North Texas. It just seems like they got more heart,
- 39:37Speaker 1: I got more hate from them all. Take them because,
- 39:40Speaker 1: to be honest, I don't give a shit about this game.
- 39:43Speaker 1: I will not turn this game. One I will. I
- 39:50Speaker 1: probably won't even type in my Safari bar North Texas
- 39:55Speaker 1: first two lane to see the score pop up. I'll
- 39:57Speaker 1: find out on the show next week. You can find
- 39:59Speaker 1: out the the show on Sunday. When I see selection
- 40:02Speaker 1: Sunday and one, I'll like, oh.
- 40:03Speaker 3: Shit, oh they won.
- 40:04Speaker 1: North Texas won?
- 40:05Speaker 2: Oh too, lame one.
- 40:06Speaker 1: That's that is how my life in this game is
- 40:09Speaker 1: going to go sixty six. Take the over? Yeah, fucking
- 40:13Speaker 1: do you don't take the over? These guys have bad defenses.
- 40:16Speaker 3: The strategy, that's the strategy.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Six and a half. Yeah, I'll take the winners.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Winners over here, take the over, give me the over.
- 40:25Speaker 1: And that's the kind of stuff you're hetting on the show,
- 40:27Speaker 1: the hard hitting facts the way. I don't fucking care
- 40:29Speaker 1: about this game at all, so.
- 40:31Speaker 2: It doesn't leave us. I know, uh, I know Klump
- 40:35Speaker 2: was excited about this when he posted the games. He's like,
- 40:38Speaker 2: we finally get to talk about Drew mess to Maker.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Drew mess to Maker better those owlers? Yeah, better than Zolar.
- 40:44Speaker 1: You know, you know Will didn't care too much. He's
- 40:46Speaker 1: looking at his phone about it.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Thirty yards.
- 40:50Speaker 5: Receptions, never started a game at quarterback in high school.
- 40:55Speaker 3: Just oh yeah, yeah, I remember that, dude.
- 40:57Speaker 4: He was not a starting quarterback on his hig school
- 40:59Speaker 4: football team, and now he is one of And now.
- 41:02Speaker 2: He's a freshman starting quarterback for North Texas.
- 41:06Speaker 5: He's a red shirt freshman.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Yes, that's amazing.
- 41:10Speaker 3: I think he played the game last year. I think
- 41:12Speaker 3: is how that worked? Because Cuba five baby, Yeah, I
- 41:17Speaker 3: remember this.
- 41:18Speaker 1: G five baby, anything I saw from and I so Drew.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Drew Mestamaker didn't play quarterback at all in high school.
- 41:28Speaker 2: He was a backup. And now he's a starting quarterback
- 41:31Speaker 2: of red shirt freshman. He's a freshman for North Texas.
- 41:34Speaker 2: And so I'm saying, that's G five baby, he's been
- 41:36Speaker 2: slinging the rock. I'm saying, good for him. That's pretty crazy.
- 41:38Speaker 2: He didn't play quarterback in high school, didn't quarterback.
- 41:42Speaker 1: Shows up to North Texas and they're like, hey, redcher
- 41:45Speaker 1: for you, we don't. This is Chad Powers. We don't
- 41:47Speaker 1: got a quarterback. We need a guy. And he's just
- 41:50Speaker 1: like I can throw it a little bit like you.
- 41:54Speaker 1: He is Chad Powers. This guy is Chad Powers.
- 41:57Speaker 5: Means I could have played quarterback at a powerfil or
- 42:00Speaker 5: a group of five school.
- 42:01Speaker 1: You know your problem, mis Mitch. You matured too late.
- 42:05Speaker 3: Wow, I feel it.
- 42:06Speaker 1: No, No, And that's not even like if you missed
- 42:08Speaker 1: your money if you were you now at like seventeen eighteen. Buddy,
- 42:13Speaker 1: you're G five. Yeah, you're G five, and you're mad
- 42:16Speaker 1: at me watching the long room like this motherfucker don't
- 42:17Speaker 1: respect us. And you're right, Yeah, you're right in destigative,
- 42:21Speaker 1: imaginative thought process. You are correct.
- 42:24Speaker 2: Give me the over. Give me the over. I won't
- 42:29Speaker 2: go to Safari to type in the search, broam. Just
- 42:31Speaker 2: click on the ESPN app and just see what scores
- 42:33Speaker 2: are for the game.
- 42:34Speaker 1: And if I even see too little, I'll go on
- 42:37Speaker 1: the ESPN.
- 42:39Speaker 3: I do.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I have ESPN to Lane Alabama, Georgia.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Oh shit, especially oh hang on twenty twenty five.
- 42:51Speaker 1: That's happened so many times to me. Did me and
- 42:55Speaker 1: technology huh break this one down for us?
- 42:57Speaker 2: Brother, don't don't break it down.
- 42:59Speaker 3: I really did pull in there.
- 43:00Speaker 1: There's spend more time talking about the Penn State coaching sir.
- 43:02Speaker 3: Yeah, we're good. So this is gonna be really quick.
- 43:04Speaker 3: Time me twenty seconds. I pulled in this morning and
- 43:06Speaker 3: thought to myself, both coaches are on the way out.
- 43:08Speaker 3: I think that disproportionately impects defensive staffs, and therefore I
- 43:12Speaker 3: don't think there's a total high enough where I wouldn't
- 43:14Speaker 3: take the over. And I did not know that you
- 43:16Speaker 3: guys were going with the over. But I will take
- 43:18Speaker 3: the over with you. So it's an overtrain. I have
- 43:20Speaker 3: a live show Friday night in the middle of this game.
- 43:22Speaker 3: There's zero chance I can watch it either, so I'll
- 43:24Speaker 3: just get half to you didn't have a lot.
- 43:25Speaker 2: You would watch it?
- 43:26Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, twenty.
- 43:28Speaker 3: One seconds, so that went over. Therefore the total goes over.
- 43:31Speaker 3: There we go.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Yeah yeah. Also speaking of driving into places, thoughts and
- 43:36Speaker 1: prayers with Kathleen onward.
- 43:39Speaker 2: Duke Virginia Virginia favorite in this game by three and
- 43:43Speaker 2: a half points. There's Duke again, just keeping the line
- 43:45Speaker 2: closed like they have all year long year. The over
- 43:48Speaker 2: runner on this game fifty seven and a half the
- 43:49Speaker 2: ac CE Championship whish.
- 43:52Speaker 1: We've already talked about that Power four power not powerful
- 43:55Speaker 1: is a power three and they're kind of pottering in
- 43:58Speaker 1: the distance.
- 43:59Speaker 3: Power two and a half. Yeah, yeah, you know this
- 44:01Speaker 3: game happened. This This game was a blowout already, Like
- 44:05Speaker 3: a few weeks ago, Virginia played Duke Virginia was Virginia
- 44:09Speaker 3: lost the turnover battle and still blew them out. The
- 44:12Speaker 3: fact that this number is what it is blows my mind.
- 44:14Speaker 3: Then I pull up the model the other day and
- 44:16Speaker 3: the model has Duke winning the game outright, and I
- 44:20Speaker 3: don't I don't get, I don't know, I don't know
- 44:22Speaker 3: I don't know, but I'm taking Duke to win the game.
- 44:25Speaker 3: So the acc doomsday scenario not only is it me
- 44:28Speaker 3: sort of wish casting, the model backs me up on
- 44:31Speaker 3: this as Duke winning outright? Is it three and a half?
- 44:34Speaker 2: Yes, ye and a half.
- 44:35Speaker 3: You know I'm taking money line taking Duke. Give me
- 44:37Speaker 3: your money line. I'm taking you do plus points, but
- 44:40Speaker 3: I will take Duke to win the game out right
- 44:42Speaker 3: as well.
- 44:42Speaker 2: I have I'll do money line, give me Duke money
- 44:46Speaker 2: line on this show.
- 44:48Speaker 1: I've brought up Duke on two sipar occasions. They were
- 44:51Speaker 1: favored against Illinois and one other time as my I
- 44:54Speaker 1: took Illinois is my dog and in Georgia tech. I
- 44:57Speaker 1: was right both of those times spending against Duke. This
- 44:59Speaker 1: is my first time betting for Duke. I'm thinking Duke
- 45:01Speaker 1: plus the points. Hopefully sprinkle that money line though, But
- 45:04Speaker 1: for the sake of the show and my standings and
- 45:06Speaker 1: me being scared, I'll just take I'll just take Duke
- 45:10Speaker 1: plus three and a half. Hey, hard hitting ship on
- 45:14Speaker 1: those first two games, boys, huh.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Hard to beat a team twice? Hard to beat a
- 45:17Speaker 2: team beating team twice.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Mike Alo Bultra right, superiors worth playing for. We've been
- 45:21Speaker 1: doing this rock suit thing. It started to be it
- 45:23Speaker 1: started to be fun. Now it's getting serious. What's the
- 45:25Speaker 1: record right now, Mitch or clump is it's eighty seven.
- 45:28Speaker 1: I'm leading eighty seven. So this is an opportunity for
- 45:30Speaker 1: me to get up to or worth even at. Are
- 45:32Speaker 1: you prepared?
- 45:33Speaker 2: Yeah, rock paper scissor shoot rock paper scissor shoot superiors
- 45:43Speaker 2: worth playing for? Good game game yep.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Back to the episode next Game. American Primeval b Yu
- 45:52Speaker 1: kept their coach versus Texas Tech, who want Josh paid
- 45:55Speaker 1: to be the Commission of college football. Texas Tech favored
- 46:00Speaker 1: by a one hundred and twelve according to my sheet.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Do you guys have the same thing?
- 46:04Speaker 3: What? Oh, it probably means twelve and a half.
- 46:06Speaker 1: No, favored by one hundred and twelve according to the sheet.
- 46:11Speaker 2: So Texas Tech favored by twelve and a half minus
- 46:15Speaker 2: one twelvefof Yeah, twelve and a half? Why you got
- 46:21Speaker 2: the plus one?
- 46:22Speaker 3: Got you?
- 46:22Speaker 1: And then the total points in that game is forty
- 46:24Speaker 1: nine and a half. American Primeval. It always comes back
- 46:27Speaker 1: to that this team has been on our show more
- 46:29Speaker 1: than I think any of us expected.
- 46:30Speaker 3: We are a BYU show.
- 46:32Speaker 1: We have become a BYU show. Now I'm not going
- 46:35Speaker 1: as far as crumble Cookie.
- 46:37Speaker 3: Yeah, we grossly mischaracterize everything about the program, everything about
- 46:40Speaker 3: the culture, everything about the church. But you know we
- 46:43Speaker 3: are Yeah, we are.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Doing nothing but the blessing of the church. Nasty work
- 46:47Speaker 1: on that, and I'm going to continue to do it.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Jordan Guire, that high flying offense, that incredible defense, what
- 46:54Speaker 1: is that? Rodriguez the linebash Jacob.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Through pick last week.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Out of the Heisman race. Yeah, I'm gonna take them.
- 47:02Speaker 1: I'll take them minus twelve and a half. This is
- 47:05Speaker 1: gonna be a three touchdown blowout when this is putting.
- 47:09Speaker 1: This is the before. Like when I was at Michigan
- 47:11Speaker 1: the first couple of years with Rich Rodriguez. Every Friday
- 47:14Speaker 1: night we do our team meetings, We have our meal,
- 47:17Speaker 1: we have clam chadder to have this historic like famous
- 47:20Speaker 1: claim CHATD that all the players will come back to
- 47:21Speaker 1: get You can only get it when you're a player
- 47:23Speaker 1: at the campus in then after that we would sit
- 47:26Speaker 1: and watch a movie. It'd be Gladiator, friend and I
- 47:28Speaker 1: had like those types of things before this game. Texas
- 47:30Speaker 1: Tech is playing the entire series of American primeval and
- 47:33Speaker 1: they win this game by twenty eight point or they're
- 47:35Speaker 1: terrified and no, they don't even show up two options.
- 47:39Speaker 2: I'm gonna take the one where they bow up. B y,
- 47:42Speaker 2: you got a better shot this time we're on could
- 47:44Speaker 2: we see some more chaos?
- 47:45Speaker 3: Model loves Brigham Young. I have no idea why. I
- 47:48Speaker 3: have no idea why.
- 47:48Speaker 2: Where's the model at on BYU?
- 47:50Speaker 3: It has Texas Tech winning by eight like it thinks
- 47:52Speaker 3: it's a huge cover probability edge for Brigham Young.
- 47:55Speaker 1: This is one that you look at and you're like, oh,
- 47:56Speaker 1: I bet this game.
- 47:57Speaker 3: I wouldn't. Oh don't. I don't agree with the model.
- 48:00Speaker 3: That means I just don't bet it.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Okay, a swing like that that's like raw men noudle express.
- 48:04Speaker 3: Yeah, it would be how do you flip? So Brigham
- 48:07Speaker 3: Young's got to flip something that happened the first time around.
- 48:09Speaker 3: They had sixty rushing yards total. First time around, they
- 48:11Speaker 3: were minus three turnovers. Brigham Young's got to run the ball.
- 48:14Speaker 3: They got to win turnover battle. That's how they've done
- 48:16Speaker 3: it all year. I do think they're playing their best ball.
- 48:18Speaker 3: Like I really really respect what they did to Utah,
- 48:21Speaker 3: but what they did to Cincinnati was more impressive. What
- 48:23Speaker 3: they did to TCU at home, to me was more impressive.
- 48:26Speaker 2: And they just got incredible news. They sure did reaction
- 48:29Speaker 2: the coaches stay in.
- 48:30Speaker 3: So you got to ride that revenge wave. You got
- 48:33Speaker 3: to ride the our coaches staying wave.
- 48:35Speaker 2: Boys, we win, we're in.
- 48:36Speaker 3: You can't. So these are the paper poppers. Texas Tech
- 48:40Speaker 3: in the first half their top three points per game
- 48:43Speaker 3: first half, top two pass yards per game first half
- 48:46Speaker 3: number one, and explosive passes in the first half. They
- 48:48Speaker 3: did that against them last time too. But the thing
- 48:51Speaker 3: about it is for everyone who tries to find a
- 48:53Speaker 3: way for Brigham Young to win this game, like, oh man,
- 48:56Speaker 3: if they just even up the turnover battle, Texas Tech
- 48:59Speaker 3: saddle for five field in this thing too. Three of
- 49:01Speaker 3: them were inside the red zone. So I look at
- 49:03Speaker 3: twenty nine to seven the first time around. I was
- 49:05Speaker 3: at that game, just not a close game, not really
- 49:07Speaker 3: a competitive game. But I was thinking to myself leaving
- 49:09Speaker 3: this actually could have been so much worse. So for
- 49:12Speaker 3: every like progression to the mean that you expect from
- 49:15Speaker 3: Brigham Young, there's also still a little catapult opportunity for
- 49:19Speaker 3: Texas Tech to play their best ball. They didn't even
- 49:20Speaker 3: play their best ball that day.
- 49:22Speaker 2: I have I don't.
- 49:23Speaker 3: I don't know what the model scene. So I'm gonna
- 49:25Speaker 3: take Texas Tech. I'll actually lay the points with.
- 49:28Speaker 2: The blessing of the church. I'm gonna go bey wow. Really, Yes,
- 49:32Speaker 2: he hasn't seen American Parmy.
- 49:33Speaker 5: No he hasn't.
- 49:33Speaker 2: No, I haven't seen an Animal House either.
- 49:36Speaker 1: That, by the way, moderious problem for the whole entire thing.
- 49:40Speaker 2: We should become a very serious issue.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, we did a thing.
- 49:45Speaker 2: I do we allowed to say what. It was a
- 49:47Speaker 2: Fande commercial. They're updating the commercial with Fando. We got
- 49:50Speaker 2: some stuff yesterday in the shop, production set up everything. Yeah.
- 49:52Speaker 2: Here it always comes back to right.
- 49:54Speaker 1: And we were doing a bit and Will had to
- 49:56Speaker 1: wear a shirt that said college football, right or playoff.
- 49:59Speaker 2: Football or something like that.
- 50:00Speaker 1: And it was a scene from Blueto an Animal House
- 50:04Speaker 1: of him trying to charge up the boys to take
- 50:06Speaker 1: down the school after they get expelled, and the directors
- 50:10Speaker 1: trying to explain to him, and had I got to
- 50:12Speaker 1: stop the director. I'm like, hey, Will, do you know
- 50:15Speaker 1: what he's trying to reference right now? And he just
- 50:16Speaker 1: has the same look he has in his face right here,
- 50:18Speaker 1: but his mouth you know, that shirt represents a big state,
- 50:25Speaker 1: and I go, guys, he hasn't seen Animal House. The
- 50:29Speaker 1: whole production crew stops in their tracks, mouths wide open.
- 50:33Speaker 1: The director goes and types in YouTube the scene so
- 50:36Speaker 1: Will can watch it to get some sort of inspiration
- 50:39Speaker 1: understand kind of what we're doing this commercial.
- 50:42Speaker 2: Goes, he goes, have you looked at the script at all?
- 50:43Speaker 2: I was like no. He's like, all right, this this
- 50:46Speaker 2: shouldn't be too bad. And then they explain the whole
- 50:48Speaker 2: blue like the blueto Animal House, the scene of everything,
- 50:51Speaker 2: and I'm kind of just staying there.
- 50:52Speaker 1: Yeah, was it over when the Germans bomb Pearl Harbord
- 50:54Speaker 1: that scene right there, and I.
- 50:56Speaker 2: Kind of just go, yeah, yeah, I got it. Goes
- 50:58Speaker 2: a joke about that is x Y and yeah, yeah
- 51:00Speaker 2: the joke, but yeah, Japan the joke. So they said,
- 51:04Speaker 2: I'm kind of just standing there. Oh yeah, so this
- 51:06Speaker 2: ain't Penn State.
- 51:07Speaker 1: Yeah. So we had to sit there for through a
- 51:10Speaker 1: six minute YouTube video of all of us kind of
- 51:11Speaker 1: just waiting and looking at our phones awkwardly while Will
- 51:13Speaker 1: watching a YouTube video for him to get the premise
- 51:16Speaker 1: of what this commercial is going to be and then hey,
- 51:18Speaker 1: you fucking killed dude. I thought you were phenomenal to see. Yeah,
- 51:24Speaker 1: he had to be Bluto and that was a lot
- 51:25Speaker 1: of dialogue for him.
- 51:26Speaker 3: Can I be honest, I have absolutely no clue what
- 51:29Speaker 3: we want you. I've seen it. I have no idea
- 51:34Speaker 3: where we were before that came up about.
- 51:36Speaker 2: With the Blessing of the Church. I'm going to b
- 51:37Speaker 2: y you plus twelve.
- 51:38Speaker 3: And yeah, the house is in Eugen I got a thing.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Yeah, tell him about that one.
- 51:43Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. It always comes back to Animal House.
- 51:45Speaker 2: We're out there at Oregon and Taylor's like, oh, this
- 51:47Speaker 2: is the place is where were shot. He's like, well,
- 51:49Speaker 2: do you know what we're talking about? I was like, no,
- 51:51Speaker 2: it's like Animal House. Oh this scene was here. Will
- 51:54Speaker 2: do you know what I'm talking about?
- 51:55Speaker 3: No?
- 51:55Speaker 1: No, And I made Will me JP and Garrett. We
- 51:58Speaker 1: had maybe the best walk of all time. Huh, Like
- 52:01Speaker 1: got around those trees that was incredible. We're going this walk.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Will meets up with us and I essentially make all
- 52:06Speaker 1: of us walk to this area where a scene was
- 52:09Speaker 1: shot an Animal House on the steps A boys look
- 52:12Speaker 1: at it. Garrett's in awe. He's obviously moved.
- 52:14Speaker 2: JP's and allward. It's like they're taking photh this is awesome,
- 52:17Speaker 2: And I'm like, will you get it? He's like where
- 52:19Speaker 2: we are we need somebody.
- 52:21Speaker 1: It takes youhe the grand can and them just being like, oh,
- 52:24Speaker 1: it's a whole and you're like, all right, it's supposed
- 52:26Speaker 1: to beautiful.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Is this the business school?
- 52:27Speaker 1: Right? Yeah? And then obviously the A fraternity They no
- 52:31Speaker 1: clue where we were before that, Yeah, no idea how
- 52:33Speaker 1: we got there either.
- 52:34Speaker 5: What's the chaos that like that would happen if by
- 52:36Speaker 5: you were to win this game?
- 52:37Speaker 3: Boh, don't say that it'd be bad. This is Notre
- 52:41Speaker 3: Dame's worst nightmare.
- 52:42Speaker 2: Both, like pretty much everybody in the bub boy, Like, I.
- 52:45Speaker 3: Know, we talked about Miami Notre Dame earlier today, but
- 52:48Speaker 3: even if Miami doesn't jump Notre Dame, we are sitting
- 52:51Speaker 3: less than twenty four hours removed from the committee, bumping
- 52:54Speaker 3: Alabama up above Notre Dame. To me, that signifies Bama's
- 52:57Speaker 3: not dropping no matter what happens Saturday, nor should they
- 53:01Speaker 3: so Notre Dame sitting there at number ten if Brigham
- 53:04Speaker 3: Young loses, like they're you know, allegedly supposed to do,
- 53:08Speaker 3: and Miami doesn't jump Notre Dame. Like Notre Dame's good,
- 53:11Speaker 3: they're in. But if Brigham Young wins, they're not taking
- 53:15Speaker 3: Texas Tech out. So two G fives and two Big
- 53:19Speaker 3: twelves would be in at that point. Well, the two
- 53:21Speaker 3: G fives is contingent on the acc dooms Day, don't
- 53:23Speaker 3: concern yourself with the G five. The point is, if
- 53:26Speaker 3: Brigham Young wins this thing, you got to find spots
- 53:28Speaker 3: that you didn't think you needed to find. And then
- 53:31Speaker 3: you look at who's number ten right now because that's
- 53:33Speaker 3: the cut line and it's Notre Dame, and they probably
- 53:36Speaker 3: drop out. Like this thing comes down to in that scenario,
- 53:40Speaker 3: bringing young Notre Dame. It's not bringing young Alabama. It
- 53:42Speaker 3: never was going to be. It's bringing young Notre Dame.
- 53:45Speaker 2: I have enough respect for the Big twelve this year
- 53:47Speaker 2: that I wouldn't I wouldn't see it as we got
- 53:49Speaker 2: two G five and two Big twelve.
- 53:51Speaker 3: You would see it as two G five Texas Tech
- 53:54Speaker 3: and a Big twelve. It's probably what you would see. Yeah,
- 53:56Speaker 3: that's what I would see.
- 53:57Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, Texas Text like another pendent they've wor sitened
- 54:00Speaker 2: there again, the ACC they just they gotta.
- 54:04Speaker 3: They gotta, they gotta just cut the cord.
- 54:05Speaker 2: Man. Wow, they don't want they exist this year. No, no, no, no,
- 54:10Speaker 2: not don't exist. But again it's like this conference. They
- 54:13Speaker 2: and you compare them against who you would relate them to.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Is the Big twelve against Big twelve is six and
- 54:19Speaker 2: one against the ACC this year. So ACC is closer
- 54:22Speaker 2: than G five than they are the Big twelve.
- 54:24Speaker 3: In my do you're not wrong about that, You're not
- 54:26Speaker 3: wrong about that.
- 54:27Speaker 1: And we all know about my respect level for the
- 54:29Speaker 1: G five. So and I agree with you on the
- 54:30Speaker 1: a SEC comment. So they're not far off. Yeah in
- 54:33Speaker 1: my respect. Mean if that means anything to the Atlantic
- 54:35Speaker 1: Coast Conference? Uh, next game, number three Georgia versus number
- 54:40Speaker 1: nine Alabama SEC Championship, real football, Yeah, real, we think
- 54:44Speaker 1: So do we get to talk about I don't know
- 54:47Speaker 1: if we can talk about it. Hold on, let me
- 54:49Speaker 1: just real quick. George is favored by two and a
- 54:51Speaker 1: half total points, the game is forty seven a half.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Go ahead and ask that question again.
- 54:54Speaker 2: Do we get to talk about what we potentially what
- 54:58Speaker 2: we are doing, what we are doing for this game?
- 55:01Speaker 2: And I'm gonna Hey, we're gonna default to the to
- 55:04Speaker 2: the should we call?
- 55:05Speaker 1: Should I just call the individual that can give me
- 55:07Speaker 1: the answer.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Right now, we interrupt this episode to talk to you
- 55:09Speaker 2: guys about the Boosting with the Boys profit boost token.
- 55:11Speaker 2: If you don't already know, the Boys have a profit
- 55:13Speaker 2: boost token available every college football Saturday. That's a profit
- 55:16Speaker 2: boost on any college football Saturday. Bet just open up
- 55:20Speaker 2: the Fandels sportsbook gap this Saturday and look out for
- 55:22Speaker 2: the Boosting with the Boys profit boost token. Yeah, look,
- 55:26Speaker 2: we teased it. If we have to edit out, we'll
- 55:27Speaker 2: let it out. But the Boys we get to cover
- 55:29Speaker 2: an altcast for the SEC Championship this weekend on ESPN.
- 55:33Speaker 1: Yes too, Yep, it'll be us three. Harry Douglas teammate
- 55:40Speaker 1: of ours. Were you on the team with him?
- 55:42Speaker 2: I was not on the team.
- 55:42Speaker 1: No, he guys asked cut before then. But hey, hell
- 55:45Speaker 1: of a teammate, Hell a lot of energy. Guy's incredible.
- 55:48Speaker 2: Yeah, just a wild straight with you.
- 55:52Speaker 1: I like to thank Harry and I have their relationship, motherfucker. Yeah,
- 55:57Speaker 1: he's gonna laugh and giggle about that and have something
- 55:59Speaker 1: for me to He played nine or ten years. Oh dude,
- 56:01Speaker 1: he was played Atlanta for a very long time, came over.
- 56:03Speaker 1: Tarry Robiski was in Atlanta. He became the OC for
- 56:06Speaker 1: attency times and he's like, I mean my guy Harry
- 56:08Speaker 1: Douglas and brought him over and legit when I was
- 56:10Speaker 1: singing on our call earlier during offensive staff meetings and
- 56:14Speaker 1: players Harry Douglas and Tarry Robiski would just be in
- 56:17Speaker 1: the kitchen, who's our OC and our wide receiver and
- 56:20Speaker 1: they just be watching get up, Get up? Or yeah,
- 56:23Speaker 1: like good morning football, and like joking about something and
- 56:26Speaker 1: we got it, We got it, we got it.
- 56:27Speaker 3: Yeah. Question ahead, because this is really big news that
- 56:31Speaker 3: you just dropped.
- 56:32Speaker 2: This is massive news.
- 56:33Speaker 3: You're telling me that while the main broadcast is going
- 56:36Speaker 3: on on ABC, we're going to have our own alt
- 56:40Speaker 3: cast broadcast where the four of us are on the
- 56:43Speaker 3: field at the SEC Championship game, calling the action between
- 56:46Speaker 3: Georgia and Alabama, two teams that have won ten out
- 56:49Speaker 3: of the last eleven SEC Championships, playoff spots on the line,
- 56:54Speaker 3: SEC title on the line, first round by on the line,
- 56:58Speaker 3: and us with Mike's in our hands.
- 57:00Speaker 2: On the sideline that's happy to see the action, getting
- 57:02Speaker 2: the field of vibe.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Waking down ball, see what's going on the sidelines, injuries, fights, arguments,
- 57:07Speaker 1: the whole thing. We get to talk about it all.
- 57:09Speaker 2: On some play by play from our boy Josh Paid,
- 57:12Speaker 2: the future Commissioner of College Football.
- 57:14Speaker 3: Oh, here we go? Is this it?
- 57:16Speaker 1: My foster? Telo one?
- 57:16Speaker 3: How are you.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Tell them?
- 57:19Speaker 3: On?
- 57:19Speaker 1: Fantastic? All right, we are shooting the locker room right now.
- 57:22Speaker 2: I have a mic on.
- 57:23Speaker 1: We can cut it, but I'm with Will Compton and
- 57:27Speaker 1: Josh Pay and we just announced that we're doing the
- 57:31Speaker 1: simulcast on ESPN two. Is that okay? Okay, yeah, no,
- 57:36Speaker 1: we're good. We can definitely say we're good to go.
- 57:38Speaker 1: We're good to go. We've gotten we've gotten permission and
- 57:41Speaker 1: we haven't asked had to ask for forgiveness. So that's fantastic.
- 57:44Speaker 1: All right, fos, I'll talk to you later. Appreciate you.
- 57:46Speaker 1: But all right, we're doing the thing. Who are you
- 57:55Speaker 1: doing it with ESPN two. It'll be me and Will Compton,
- 57:58Speaker 1: Josh Paying, Harry Douglas.
- 58:00Speaker 3: Will didn't pay.
- 58:01Speaker 1: It was har he got cut. Hey.
- 58:05Speaker 3: That is huge. It's massive, big deal.
- 58:07Speaker 2: I mean, boys, the fact that we get to be
- 58:10Speaker 2: on the field, the sec Championship, that big of a
- 58:13Speaker 2: game like US where it was kind of going fan
- 58:17Speaker 2: of college football? Were he who's the hater? Not fun
- 58:20Speaker 2: on Twitter? And not yeah yeah the cat we had
- 58:23Speaker 2: to delete. He's gonna be punching air.
- 58:27Speaker 1: He'll know. Do you think the guy who had deleted
- 58:31Speaker 1: his own Twitter because of what you two did to him,
- 58:33Speaker 1: he's gonna find out or he's just giving up.
- 58:36Speaker 3: I think I think it's really safe to say he's
- 58:38Speaker 3: tuning into Chris Faller and Kirkirk Street. I think it's
- 58:41Speaker 3: really safe to say he's checking out the ABC feed.
- 58:43Speaker 1: I see him with basic cable, and I see him
- 58:46Speaker 1: thumbing through an old school with the clicker, and then
- 58:48Speaker 1: it's Pops ESPN two and it's your face and it's
- 58:51Speaker 1: both of you, like cut screen three pieces and the
- 58:54Speaker 1: game's going in the middle and you two are talking
- 58:55Speaker 1: and he just sees it for a moment and his
- 58:57Speaker 1: heart rate goes to one twenty.
- 58:59Speaker 3: Just he's Jesse breaking bad. He's he can't keep getting
- 59:02Speaker 3: away with this, He screams at the air.
- 59:04Speaker 1: Yeah yeah yeah.
- 59:05Speaker 3: Hate it for him, Love it for us though, Love
- 59:07Speaker 3: it for the audience.
- 59:08Speaker 2: You want to tune in and watch, watch us cover
- 59:11Speaker 2: a game, the SEC Championship from a different perspective, our
- 59:14Speaker 2: very first time doing it. Who knows how it's gonna go.
- 59:16Speaker 2: I'm sure it'll be a little bumpy at times, no doubt,
- 59:19Speaker 2: but this crew will figure it out. Right, Well, phone
- 59:21Speaker 2: won't break.
- 59:22Speaker 3: Call on the game gonna be great.
- 59:24Speaker 1: Yeah, we can know.
- 59:25Speaker 2: We're trying to We're trying to figure out what the
- 59:26Speaker 2: wardrobe is gonna be. I asked that question in the
- 59:29Speaker 2: production call. They're like, you can wear whatever you want.
- 59:31Speaker 1: Because you know my my move's gonna be probably the
- 59:33Speaker 1: same jeans I'm wearing right now on a black T shirt.
- 59:35Speaker 1: If they're if we don't decide anything, but if we
- 59:37Speaker 1: want to go wranglers with some sort of SEC get
- 59:42Speaker 1: up in a cowboy hat, which I know you hate hats.
- 59:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:45Speaker 3: Well, the other thing to think about is piction.
- 59:47Speaker 2: I'm trying to picture awesome.
- 59:50Speaker 1: I like to fix your hand with a flannel T
- 59:51Speaker 1: shirt to button down. Here.
- 59:52Speaker 3: You can picture me however you want. This is an
- 59:55Speaker 3: indoors game, like we're indoors right now. It is early December,
- 59:59Speaker 3: it is cold.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: You wear the T shirt and you gotta yeah, and buddy,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: is it not freezing in here.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: When we started doing the show in week one in
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: late August, it was rough, it was it was right exactly,
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: and now we're leaning forward.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: I know we should have a little fire next time.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: Can we build a fire? Why not call Mike, Mike,
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: we can get a fire going.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: Yeah, but let's pick this SEC championship and see where
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: O bias lies.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, ye, Garrett, was you gad to speak?
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: Alabama's one one what Jordan's one and seven?
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: Kirby is one and seven.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Kirby is one and seven against Alabama. Ten of the
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: last eleven SC champions.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: And will be eleven of the last twelve.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: Because Math and both these teams are in.
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: It's fair enough.
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: Uh yeah, another big game for the Tide earned our
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: spot here. It's a place we've been before, obviously. As
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: you guys just said, my biggest thing with this weekend
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: is that you guys are going to watch the Tide
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: in the SEC and I'm not so that hurts, but
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: I'm gonna find my own way there so I will
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: see you guys there.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: Roll timee.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: So Garrett just took an opportunity to get the mic
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: to kind of be like you guys aren't taking it. Yeah,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: that's exactly what that was. Do we do we take there?
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: I think we've gotta see what we can do at
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: least give them, have to make that effort.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: We talked about it yesterday. I thought that was a
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: no brainer. Yeah, we got to have confirmation, no doubt.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: And I'm bad about that.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: Is we're gonna be able to pull off two in
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: a row here on Georgia watching Bama. They've had a
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: they've went through a big time schedule, They've earned the
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: right to be here. They're they're gonna stay in the
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: College Wall playoff unless in some world it's like fifty
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: five to seven and they just get blown out, and
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: then you you kind of have to consider, hey, do
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: is Bama fall the playoff after that ass beating? I
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: see them getting in the playoff about ninety nine percent
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: of the time. But they've kind of like limped their
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: way to this finish line the way they've they've been
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: winning their games, but they haven't been winning in a
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: fashions where you kind of see ty Simpson. It's been
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: high and tight. But again, the story with ty Simpson
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: is you're just barely missing on those deep balls. Is
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: that gonna continue. Are they gonna beat Georgia for a
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: second time? I rowe Georgia team that's been playing spicy
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: as of late, that's been putting the foot on the
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: gas and looking like a team that's can be in
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: my opinion of the team that would compete with Ohio
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: Sate for a national championship. Does Bama beat him twice?
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: It's gonna be hard to beat to beat Georgia twice.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: So progression regression to the mean in a rematch matters
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: a lot. Bama thirteen of nineteen on third down first
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: time they played in Athens, Georgia was like two of eight.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: Both of those teams are top thirty on third down.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: Just in general, Bam a huge edge that day. These
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: are two huge like premier coaching staffs. Bama pretty huge
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: edge that day. Georgia's pass rush did not get to
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: Ty Simpson the entire night, zero sacks, and not only
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: that didn't really even affect him all that much. Havoc
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: great been spiking for Georgia these last few weeks is
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: that there Saturday. The two biggest game breaking opportunities, one
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: for both teams is the wide receiver group for Alabama's
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: Jeremy Bernard, it's Isaiah Horton at seventeen. Lots Ofier Brooks
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: has come on. As of late, Ryan Williams has been
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: a ghost and can't really get a straight answer about
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: where he's been. The deep ball thing is huge, like
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: they barely miss him if they hit him. That fundamentally
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: changes things for Alabama. They let Auburn break two huge
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: explosive yards after catch plays on them last week. Zachariah
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: Branch is more explosive than any player Auburn has, so
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: that's where it could break for Georgia. I also remember
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: Bama's secondary sort of throttling down Georgia a little bit.
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: Georgia ran it for over two hundred and I expect
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: him to have a fair amount of success running the
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: ball again. But Georgia's center is probably out for this game.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: Both teams badly banged up. But Georgia's center being at
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: how does it affect snaps? How does it affect run fits,
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: flow in the run game, collapse in the pocket. Tim
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: Keenan was injured and just coming back for this Georgia
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: game the first time around, playing like a stud now
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: and so not only is he like a two gap
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: or type, but he can also really collapse the pocket
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: gives him a decent interior pass rush against the red
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: shirt freshman center. The injury situation is probably gonna matter
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: as much in this game as any championship game we
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: see Saturday. I am fundamentally of the opinion that it's
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: extremely hard to beat a team twice in the same year,
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: especially when that team is staffed and personneled like Georgia's.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: The model likes Georgia. I have literally no lean in
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: the game. So just because of the computer, I'll lean Georgia.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: It's two and a half? Right, is it still two
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: and a half? All right, I'll lay those points. No
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: confidence in that picked up. Gonna be a great game.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: Over under forty seven and a half. Again, again, we're
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: gonna be We're gonna be covering the well in the game.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: I was having the same thought when he was breaking
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: it down. I was like, do we even picket picketting?
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: Well?
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: We want to do the Herb Street Just do we
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: want to stay completely biased in this entire thing?
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: Yeah? Over forty seven and a half. It's like when
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: these two teams play unbiased. When these two teams play,
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: I expect a physical football game. For whatever reason, when
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: these two unifl out there, it's gonna be the SEC championship.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: I think it's gonna be two physical teams going at it.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: I like the over in this game. If I had
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: to pick and see how this game is going to unfold,
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: I picture the state of Georgia, everybody at home just
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: barking at the TV because George is gonna pull off
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: a win. I see the.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: Georgia thing too. I'm gonna take the under do it
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: the over over. I'm gonna take the over as well.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: Excitement.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: Everyone loves rooting for points in these games. Who wants
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: the excited, high flying I see Alabama through the air,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: maybe meeting a couple of those connections that you're talking
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: about that haven't happened as a recent Georgia. On the
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: other hand, I see them running the ball very effectively,
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: especially going to Stockton. Having an extra blocker in there,
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: getting that done redshirt freshman center is a bit of alarming.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: But I like Georgia getting themselves in thirty manageables. Overall,
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: I see a lot of points having this game. I'm
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: gonna to be over as well.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: All right, great breakdown, boys and It's gonna be fun.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: You think that was a great breakdown, Just wait till
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: Wait till Saturdays two ESPN two You wanna have phone
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: with the boys?
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Game of the Week two Classic Game of the Week.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: Yeah, every Saturday's got games, but only one fits just right.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: This is true Classics Game of the Week, the Big
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: Ten Championship. What have this episode to bring you?
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: True classic? Dude? You can find two Classic on Amazon
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: and Costco, Sam's Club and Target nationwide, or online at
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: two class dot com forward slash bustin. Listen, I wear
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: the pants every single day. I got that PEMA T
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: shirt on. Grab a shoulders your boy during galt. I
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: haven't touched to wait in over a month. All right,
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: I look at myself in the room, I'm like, what
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: the hell is this? I put the PEMA T shirt on.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: It grabs a little bit more like, Hey, maybe it's
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: not as bad as you think when the shirt's off.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: That's because the true classic look good, feel good, play good.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: Kurt Signetti versus Ryan Day Indiana Ohio State. Ohio state
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: favorite in this game by four and a half points.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: The over under on this game is forty seven and
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: a half. You have four and a half is light.
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: It's very light. It's extremely impressive that on a neutral
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: field anyone can be within five points, just point spread
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: wise of Ohio State, but especially especially a non traditional,
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: non top ten recruiting type team like Indiana, Like that's
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: a such a monumental statement before the game kicks off.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: Ryan Day, best friend of yours now shines in these moments,
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: but so does Kurt Signetti. We saw him go on
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: the road to Oregon earlier this year. Like that game
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: changed things in my mind because last year Signetti and
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: Indiana went to Ohio State, they got blown out, and
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: they went in the playoff and they got beat by
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: Notre Dame, and it kind of fulfilled a lot of
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: the preconceived ideas that they're mainly a product of an
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: inferior schedule whatever. This year they look way different to me.
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: I think they're a legitimate top five team. But you
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: don't have to wonder. They went to Oregon and owned
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: Oregon and then they've shined the rest of the way.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: So if they can control somewhat the explosivity of Ohio
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: State's offense, they got a shot to win the game.
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: They do have to have a little bit more balance.
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: It'll easily be the most balanced offense, like the most
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: toolbox y kind of offense that Ohio State's seen so
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: far this year. Now to mean Ohio State's incapable of
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: stopping them, it just means it's a different test for
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: Ohio State. But so much can go right for them.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: They can control tempo, they can be converting third downs,
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: they could be tilting field position in their favor. If
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: you're just hitting Jeremiah Smith for eighty, if you're hitting
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: Carnel Tate for sixty eight, doesn't matter because those explosives,
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: you could win time of possession two to one. You
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: can win twice as many plays as Ohio State. It
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: doesn't matter. It just means they're scoring quick. So you
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: got to control that to have a shot. It's a
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: real big test of Will's game because both of them
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: have looked pretty unstoppable. It's the beauty of conference championship Saturday.
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: I just ride with Ohio State in these kind of
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: moments until further notice. As we documented last Saturday morning,
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: very late in the morning.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Yeah, oh we're gonna bring that up. Yeah, I gotta
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: ride with Ohio State in later points.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: I'm taking Ohio State minus four at two. I just, dude,
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: I think this teeth, this defense is so good and
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: even if even in Indiana being able to move the ball,
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: they'll be able to I'm excited to watch Fernano Mendoza
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: because he's kind of been a Heisman spotlight right here,
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: like right now. I feel like Diego Pavia, in my opinion,
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: is the front runner of the guy who should be
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: the Heisman winner this year. But Fernana Mendoza is going
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: to be in a huge moment this weekend against the
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: best defense in the country in Ohio State. I'm excited
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: to see if they'll be able to turn three into
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: seven because I just believe in Oha State's defense so much.
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: They're savvy, Patricia, He's got all those guys, all these
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: aliens playing with the higher IQ. They're very situationally aware.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: They're one of the best in the red zone at
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: keeping teams out of the end zone. I just I
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: think Ohio State has too much. I think they'll be
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: able to score, they'll be able to get seven compared
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: to Indiana, who will be able to move the ball
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: at times, but I think they'll have to settle for
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: three a lot so I'm taking Ohio State my sport.
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: Not a lot of mobility in Fernanda. Mendoza's game has
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: to win it with his arm. He threw for two
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: fifteen against Oregon, two thirty three against Iowa. I'm of
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: the opinion he has to do better than that to
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: beat Ohio State. Are you in agreement with them? Yes?
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: And if he does, he probably wins the Heisman.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: If he's thrown for what three hundred and gets what
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: two touchdowns, zero interceptions? I think that would be Yeah,
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: I think that would be enough.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: I know who my Heisman winner is and he's out
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: of the playoffs detained. Yep, yeah, absolutely, no, really, no,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: that's good. Listen, the thing that mat Patrici is the
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: biggest game changer that Ohio States had. Obviously, the decoordinator
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: goes to Penn State. Bad, bad move by him, Brian Harlane.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: He gets elevated as the OC. But the thing that
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: makes Matatrix is so difficult. He obviously has a lot
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: of talent on the field. Every game, he has a
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: roll index of different defenses and different coverages that he
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: can give you that it's gonna take Indiana a quarter
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: two quarters to really figure out they're doing, and then
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: by that time it's halftime adjustments. So the thing you
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: might have figured out now that mat Patricia comes out
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: in the second half with a completely different look in
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: disguise of what's going on, so he has the ability
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: to keep an offense in a blender for all four quarters.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: I had to lose a friend this weekend. I had
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: to watch my team, who's won foreign four in a row,
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: get brutally demolished and a completely uncompetitive game. I had
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: to watch kid that we spend ten million dollars getting
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: throwed the ball five times in the first half. Would
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: have been a different game if we maybe threw a
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: little bit.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: I'm not here to say, but that defense is pretty
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: incredibly impressive. Julian saying he's throwing routes on air and
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: it's not his fault. He is he's got the two
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: best wide receivers and all of course, well, well, maybe
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: Jeremiah Smith is the best player in all of college football.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: I spent all last year after Michigan had the biggest
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: upset in Columbus, winning thirteen to ten. I spent every
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: single game of the playoffs saying that this is when
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: Ohio State falls, they're not going to get it. And
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: they just went on a tear. And at this point, man,
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: they're sixteen to zero since the last time they played.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: When they play Michigan and Columbus, I'll think Ohio State
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: minus four and a half.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: And not to mention, you got to see him in
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: a little bit of adversity for a minute. Literally really
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: is saying coming out that first year, he's throwing a pick,
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: throwing a bad pick. We've been bouncing back.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: Ohio State spent more time down in the Michigan Ohio
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: State game than they did the entire football season, which
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: is just insane. I think they have spent one minute
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: being down the entire year before that Michigan game. Michigan
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: drives the field, does really good running the ball, kicks three,
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: we get an interception on the first throw of the game.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: Ryan Day said in our show, I'm thinking it, we're
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: about to do this shit again, holding for three. It's
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: you know, after that, it's over.
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: Yeah, And again just talking more about coach Patricia. We've
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: played against it, Matt Patricia defense. Where we've been sitting
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: in the that we've sat in there with variable, we
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: sat in there with any any time you're listening to
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: a coach speak from an offensive perspective, going against a
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: Matt Patricia defense, it's always they take away your best weapon,
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: like your best tools. That's what they focus on defensively
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: because to your appointment, those and not being very mobile
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: in the pocket. Front seven is always gonna think we
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: have to stop the run in every game that happens, right,
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: So when you're able to dial things in on third
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: down and play with that level of viq that coach
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: Patricia is going to have that defense ready for. That
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: to me is where they're able to squeeze Indiana.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: A lot of those conversations, see they take place when
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: you're playing against Patricia when he was at the Patriots.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: Is if you're an offensive meeting Derson there going hey,
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: this is kind of every defense that they've run this
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: year based on our skill set, this is what we
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: think we're gonna have to run, but we won't know
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: until the game starts of what they're coming out. After
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: the first series, we can kind of make adjustments from there,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: but expect these three or four kind of defensive schemes
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: that Matt Patrich has run in the past to kind
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: of stop our bread and butter is what we're able
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: to do. And that's where you put Indiana in a
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: massive deficit because they have to wait till after the
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: game starts to figure out what their game plan is.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: And that's what put its Ohio State.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: Right, Like, if somebody's highly targeted on third gun, you're
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: going to assume Matt Paturs is going to take this away.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: So how are we going to win on the other
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: side in this situation?
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: And then there's four d chests where he now he
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: doesn't take that away, and he's messed up your entire
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: game plan. So it's better just kind of a wait
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: and see moment for them in Indianapolis, Like, hey, we
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: got to find out what they're doing and then adjust
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: from there. And that takes a lot for Kirksinetti and
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: his staff to kind of decipher and figure out from
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: the get go. Yeah, Ohio State, man, those sons of bitches.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: Good for them, isn't the dude? The only thing that
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: has changed for me is I I truly respect Ryan Day.
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: You lost me as a friend and gained Ryan Day.
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: We're friends.
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: You said you loved that guy. No, it was sea
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: bass and dumb and dumber. He walks up to your table.
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: You threw the salt shaker at him, and then he
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: called you out and he hawked on your burger and
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: you caved.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: I watched that. That's fucking bullshit.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: I watched that.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: That's a bullshit. No, here's what happened, dude, I said
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: all these crazy things.
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: And Ryan Day who denied us, Ohio State denied us?
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: What was it Sunday? There's no time for Ryan Day
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: to make it on Busting with the Boys. Ryan Day
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: also has issues with Pat McAfee. Allegedly, Pat was very
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: vocal about that. Ryan Day in the middle season goes
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: on Pat McAfee show, Why fucking victory lapse? So what
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: did he do? When I wants to take a piss?
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: And Ryan Nolan came up and said, hey, will Ryan
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: Day twenty minutes at eleven thirty?
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: Can you do that?
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: And go thumbs up? It's like, yeah, he's taking a
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: victory lap, and so what am I gonna do? Double down? Hey,
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: you're still not a leader of many, even though you
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: won a national championship and you just beat Michigan, who's
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: beating you four years in a row. I'm gonna find
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: something to pull out of the ether. No, dude, I
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: hate Ohio State, but my god, he's proved me wrong
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: and every since everything I've said. He was born on
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: third base, but he's elevated his team.
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: He he's still home. He is.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: He walked into an uber Michigan the bake House in
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: front of one hundred and fifteen thousand people and smiled
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: as he walked down the tunnel and then beat our ass.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: So what can you say? And other than other than
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: you had to win with humility and lose with humility. Hey,
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: coach day, I said a lot of bad things about you.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: You shut my ass up. Congratulations. When you guys are
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: on the bar, we're not friends though, who Yeah, we're
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: not friends.
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: But when you guys are on the bus end of
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: the show, No friend of the show you are.

- 1:15:45Speaker 3: the viewers at home don't know that when you're constantly

- 1:15:50Speaker 3: think you were just too scared to make eye contact
