- 0:32Speaker 2: Hey, everybody, Welcome to Conspiracy the Show. I'm your host.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Adam Todd Brown joining me is co host this week.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Connor's here. How's it going, man?
- 0:41Speaker 3: How's it going?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Adam just fantastic excited for today's topic. And we have
- 0:48Speaker 2: a fantastic guest in the proverbial room, Danielle Radford's here.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Hi, I'm a guest in the proverbial room.
- 0:55Speaker 2: In the proverbial room, we're not all in the same room.
- 0:59Speaker 3: That's the i'd room at the comedy club for the
- 1:01Speaker 3: B and C level headliners.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Yeah, the room.
- 1:04Speaker 3: It seats forty to fifty proverbially and it could be
- 1:08Speaker 3: pretty good, but you know not.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Usually it's where I do my weekly showcase.
- 1:14Speaker 2: I have been threatening to do a series of episodes
- 1:18Speaker 2: about the various intelligence agencies of the United States, and
- 1:22Speaker 2: that is finally happening. The first episode upcoming will be
- 1:27Speaker 2: about Naval Intelligence, which is actually the country's first ever
- 1:31Speaker 2: intelligence agency. Stay tuned for that.
- 1:34Speaker 3: I thought that was belly buttons science. What naval intelligence?
- 1:39Speaker 2: Ah, I get it. I hate that I didn't get
- 1:42Speaker 2: it at first.
- 1:43Speaker 1: It's also the study of oranges.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Yes it is.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Yeah to today we are not talking about a specific
- 1:49Speaker 2: intelligence agency. We're talking about an intelligence alliance called the
- 1:55Speaker 2: Five Ey's.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Ay yeah, yeah, yah yah.
- 2:00Speaker 1: It's like Survivor, but only the white people went, so
- 2:02Speaker 1: it's like Survivor.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 2:06Speaker 3: This is always one of these things that comes up
- 2:08Speaker 3: in conspiracy theories where I always go, there's got to
- 2:10Speaker 3: be more there. New Zealand's up to something. You know.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Never trust a kiwi a bunch of white people out
- 2:17Speaker 3: an island is usually never, you know. That's how yakub
- 2:20Speaker 3: got started.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Come on, Connor, you mentioned there has to be something
- 2:24Speaker 2: more to stuff like this. I did an episode about
- 2:27Speaker 2: this in twenty twenty one on the Unpopular Opinion podcast
- 2:31Speaker 2: and I mentioned that, hey, maybe this is about white
- 2:33Speaker 2: supremacy a little bit because of the countries involved and
- 2:38Speaker 2: all the things they share. And someone actually got in
- 2:41Speaker 2: the comments and told me that they went on the
- 2:43Speaker 2: Five Eyes website and didn't find anything about white supremacy,
- 2:47Speaker 2: So I'm wrong. It's like, oh, yeah, that's how that
- 2:50Speaker 2: would work. They would just have to be fair.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Sometimes you go on these websites at them and you
- 2:55Speaker 3: know this and it'll be like the Five Eyes is
- 2:57Speaker 3: the foundation rooted in white supremacy. It's just right there
- 3:01Speaker 3: in the yeah, the mission statement, So you got to check.
- 3:04Speaker 3: I mean, the CIA as freaking shit about the Hindu
- 3:07Speaker 3: Vadas and UFOs from the nineteen fifties and their goddamn website.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I think. Yeah.
- 3:12Speaker 1: There's also a lot of people who are from the
- 3:14Speaker 1: newer generations not to get all like, back in my day,
- 3:16Speaker 1: our dog whistles were dog whistles. They didn't say the
- 3:20Speaker 1: quiet part out loud. Now there's a generation of people
- 3:22Speaker 1: who grew up where the quiet part has been said
- 3:25Speaker 1: out loud, and so it's harder for them to recognize
- 3:28Speaker 1: what a dog whistle is.
- 3:29Speaker 2: We've never done a full on episode about the Five
- 3:32Speaker 2: Eyes on this podcast.
- 3:34Speaker 3: And then there's some people like too short, Just go
- 3:36Speaker 3: and blow the whistle, I mean, and let's hear it.
- 3:41Speaker 2: So we're gonna fucking talk about it today. And they're
- 3:45Speaker 2: up to new hijinks since twenty twenty one, they've shifted
- 3:48Speaker 2: focus into AI and things that like, So there's updates.
- 3:53Speaker 2: But let's talk about that website and the official description
- 3:57Speaker 2: of the Five Eyes. It isn't a lotiance between the
- 4:01Speaker 2: five Anglosphere nations Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK, and the US.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Not even letting Spain in.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Oh, I mean Germany's not even in. Yeah, so it's
- 4:14Speaker 2: not even the all of the white nations.
- 4:17Speaker 3: It's just you ever go to the paper section and
- 4:20Speaker 3: on office depot and it's like bright whites, you know,
- 4:23Speaker 3: like this is bright whites.
- 4:26Speaker 2: That term anglosphere refers to a community of English speaking
- 4:31Speaker 2: countries that share a common cultural and historical heritage. Ah.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Yeah, man, we just love like imperialism. We're like so
- 4:40Speaker 1: good at it.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Yeah. I was gonna say genocide, but either one.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it's good.
- 4:44Speaker 2: A lot of names on that list have that in common.
- 4:46Speaker 3: New Zealand calls up Australia that thing you did with
- 4:49Speaker 3: the Aboriginals back in the seventies. Yeah, we're thinking about
- 4:52Speaker 3: trying something like that up here because you could. We great, great,
- 4:56Speaker 3: we'll see we'll see you next week. Mm hmm.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Everybody's talking to they're great friends in US and Canada, Canada.
- 5:02Speaker 1: I know, everyone all just talks about how nice you are.
- 5:03Speaker 1: You're not getting away with it. We know what y'all
- 5:05Speaker 1: do to indigenous women up there.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Oh, man, they at least read a little fucking poem
- 5:09Speaker 3: or whatever they do. You know. I went to Canada
- 5:12Speaker 3: once and I was like they were doing that, and
- 5:14Speaker 3: I was like, oh shit, someone's even so they pretend
- 5:16Speaker 3: to care up here.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah not really though.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Canada's rough in the redneck parts. It's you're just in
- 5:23Speaker 3: Alabama but cold.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Their police just kill indigenous people instead of black people.
- 5:28Speaker 2: That's the main difference. There's not as many black people
- 5:31Speaker 2: to kill, so they have to shift focus.
- 5:33Speaker 3: And you have a whole cottage industry of going into
- 5:36Speaker 3: the woods to kill things for fun that's very available
- 5:38Speaker 3: to you. But you're like, ah, but it doesn't. The
- 5:41Speaker 3: moose doesn't have a family and a job.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Which is wild because it's like, can't y'all just do
- 5:46Speaker 1: like weird woods porn like a lot of other places do.
- 5:49Speaker 1: It's like, no, that's where murders happen. And then we
- 5:52Speaker 1: just tell everyone that Bigfoot's up there, and so if
- 5:54Speaker 1: they see anything weird, they're like, it's Bigfoot and definitely
- 5:57Speaker 1: not weird murder.
- 5:59Speaker 2: I like the idea that if we did finally encounter
- 6:02Speaker 2: Bigfoot in this country, the first thing we'd probably do
- 6:04Speaker 2: is deport him back to Canada. Yeah, like that would
- 6:08Speaker 2: be first order of business.
- 6:10Speaker 1: He's taking our jobs, Yeah, he's he's taking our loping
- 6:14Speaker 1: and being fuzzy on photograph jobs.
- 6:16Speaker 3: There is a genre of guy of Rudy Giuliani genus
- 6:21Speaker 3: that would hear the news about Bigfoot and immediately think laugh. Fuck,
- 6:24Speaker 3: there's gonna be land rights issues in Portland, Washington. It's
- 6:28Speaker 3: going to be a whole cottage industry of legal sub
- 6:31Speaker 3: branches that end up dealing with this. Yeah, that sounds
- 6:34Speaker 3: like a gold mine. I'm getting too Bigfoot law.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Bigfoot wants to come here, he needs to do it
- 6:40Speaker 2: the right way, and that means you better be able
- 6:42Speaker 2: to afford a plane ticket. Otherwise don't come to this country.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Bigfoot better overstay his visa like the rest of us.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and even then it's just a soft maybe, But yeah,
- 6:52Speaker 2: I assume it would just be a lot of it's
- 6:54Speaker 2: on people.
- 6:54Speaker 1: We can just do. Remember that thing we used to do.
- 6:57Speaker 1: What was that the slavery that seemed to work out
- 6:59Speaker 1: really well for a couple of us. So I don't know, man,
- 7:01Speaker 1: how much can you carry?
- 7:02Speaker 3: And they're even stronger than people?
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yeah? Real, big too, real tall.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Hey, Elon Musk, I got a Tesla bat for you.
- 7:09Speaker 3: He's eight feet tall and his shit's as big as
- 7:13Speaker 3: a Boston Terrier.
- 7:15Speaker 1: More durable than a fucking cyber truck.
- 7:18Speaker 3: He throws a heavy metal ball at the big Foot
- 7:20Speaker 3: and he's just like, ow, what the dude?
- 7:24Speaker 1: Come on, Come on, man, you brought my glasses.
- 7:26Speaker 3: You gotta be chained up like King khn with like
- 7:28Speaker 3: a little dignity.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Here here's a quote from the Office of the Director
- 7:33Speaker 2: of National Intelligence website. The council members exchange views on
- 7:37Speaker 2: subjects of mutual interest and concern, compare best practices and
- 7:42Speaker 2: review and oversight methodology. Explore areas where cooperation on reviews
- 7:47Speaker 2: and the sharing of results is permitted. Where approp they
- 7:50Speaker 2: fucking cooperate.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I need to know more about this council mostly are
- 7:55Speaker 1: their cloaks involved? Is there a secret knock? I need
- 7:58Speaker 1: to know these things because it sounds very DRACONI.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Yeah, how many candles must be lit?
- 8:04Speaker 2: Yeah? There's an owl statue in these meetings for sure.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Where's Moloch and all this?
- 8:10Speaker 2: Yeah? Exactly? They set it on fire at the end
- 8:12Speaker 2: of each meeting. Very ceremonial. We got to start incorporate
- 8:15Speaker 2: and shit like that into these podcasts. Why not government
- 8:19Speaker 2: does it. It's got to be to some end. What
- 8:22Speaker 2: if our lives change immediately for the better?
- 8:25Speaker 3: Appealing to the subconscious impact of the Samerian blood deity
- 8:31Speaker 3: through ritual and sacrifice. I mean, it would almost be
- 8:34Speaker 3: weird if it had no effect on the universe. I mean,
- 8:37Speaker 3: come on, right, well, throw it in for fun. Then
- 8:39Speaker 3: maybe we get lucky. We fucking sacrifice something to the right.
- 8:42Speaker 1: God, I don't know, man, I played D and D.
- 8:44Speaker 1: I could be a convincing druid.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Hell yeah, low intelligence, high wisdom building. That's kind of
- 8:49Speaker 3: lot the conspiracy world a little bit, right, You just
- 8:53Speaker 3: need that bullshit detector.
- 8:55Speaker 2: So let's talk about the history of the Five Eyes.
- 8:58Speaker 2: A little Bits describes them as an exclusive club made
- 9:03Speaker 2: up of quote, the five countries that don't spy on
- 9:06Speaker 2: each other end quote. And that's really fucking accurate. If
- 9:10Speaker 2: you're one of these five countries, we won't spy on you.
- 9:15Speaker 2: And I know that sounds like, oh yeah, right, sure
- 9:18Speaker 2: you don't. But it seems like what this is, at
- 9:21Speaker 2: least right now, is a way for countries to spy
- 9:25Speaker 2: on their own citizens without actually doing it themselves.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Outsource it to New Zealand. It's like, we didn't know,
- 9:32Speaker 3: We just heard from New Zealand that you guys were Well.
- 9:34Speaker 2: It's exactly that. When Edward Snowden released all those documents
- 9:39Speaker 2: back in like twenty thirteen, one of the things that
- 9:43Speaker 2: was revealed was that the US was paying the UK
- 9:47Speaker 2: to spy on our citizens and then send the information
- 9:50Speaker 2: to the NSA because we're not allowed to spy on
- 9:53Speaker 2: our own citizens but another country can.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah, Because it's like you know when you go on
- 9:57Speaker 1: TikTok and those girls are like, hey, you know, give
- 10:00Speaker 1: me fifty bucks and i'll see if your man's been
- 10:01Speaker 1: cheating on you, and then like they go into your
- 10:03Speaker 1: man's DMS report back if it takes them up on it.
- 10:06Speaker 1: It's like that. It's like we have an open phone policy.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't see why it needs to be a
- 10:12Speaker 3: girl offering the service. I could do this with three
- 10:14Speaker 3: or four stock images, a couple of copy and paste prompts.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I know, I agree, but I think it's just they
- 10:19Speaker 1: want just in case the guy presses for video time, which,
- 10:22Speaker 1: as we know, the UK has got a lot of
- 10:24Speaker 1: because they have those cameras everywhere everywhere.
- 10:27Speaker 2: We don't, but the UK does.
- 10:29Speaker 1: We don't need to. We have can't We have our cameras.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Yeah, the UK is just more honest about who gets
- 10:34Speaker 2: access to those cameras. They're like, no, the police can't
- 10:37Speaker 2: look at your ring doorbell footage. No, yeah, of coorse
- 10:42Speaker 2: they can. What's interesting about the Five Eyes. We just
- 10:45Speaker 2: found out about them officially in twenty ten when the
- 10:49Speaker 2: UK government, Oh wow, a bunch of documents about it.
- 10:52Speaker 2: But it dates back to fucking World War two.
- 10:56Speaker 3: This is crazy, like Area fifty one was only officially
- 10:58Speaker 3: confirmed when Baraka Obama made like a bad Jimmy Kimmel
- 11:02Speaker 3: joke about what it was probably locked up on Areo
- 11:04Speaker 3: fifty one.
- 11:05Speaker 2: This partnership, it dates back to World War Two and
- 11:09Speaker 2: it started with a secret seven page agreement between the
- 11:14Speaker 2: US and the UK. And at first it was just
- 11:17Speaker 2: an intelligence partnership meant to spy on Russia, which that's
- 11:21Speaker 2: not surprising at all. It went from two Eyes to
- 11:25Speaker 2: three Eyes in nineteen forty eight when Canada joined for
- 11:28Speaker 2: some reason, can't we just fucking spy on them? Why
- 11:31Speaker 2: was it the.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Fucking two Eyes? Why don't we just call it the
- 11:33Speaker 3: Eyes that's how many eyes. Almost everything but tarantulas has.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I think it was. It's still technically I think called
- 11:41Speaker 2: the UK USA Agreement. They just started calling it the
- 11:46Speaker 2: five Eyes. I don't know actually who came up with
- 11:48Speaker 2: the five eyes.
- 11:49Speaker 3: The name.
- 11:50Speaker 2: It's a bitch and name though.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Yeah, that is actually a really that feels like one
- 11:53Speaker 1: of those things where it's like, oh, the government hired
- 11:56Speaker 1: its best, you know, the best genre writers to come
- 11:58Speaker 1: up with some wacky to name things.
- 12:01Speaker 3: But then half the shit is like, and we're gonna
- 12:03Speaker 3: call it Operation thunderfuck. Yeah.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Okay, So this was like the two week window where
- 12:08Speaker 1: as a freelancer you could get paid.
- 12:10Speaker 3: You know.
- 12:10Speaker 1: It's like when all of a sudden there were all
- 12:12Speaker 1: of those like apps where people were getting paid to
- 12:13Speaker 1: make like short form comedy. It's like that, except with naming.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Weird government. This is the quiv and ciso. Yeah, a
- 12:21Speaker 3: renaissance of government covert operation naming. I mean they can
- 12:25Speaker 3: all be mk ultra and sound like a fucking thor villain.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I see, that's fucking cool. That's a good name too,
- 12:33Speaker 1: so much better than Shakanah or any of like that.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Australia, New Zealand joined in nineteen fifty six, and that's
- 12:40Speaker 2: when they were five. I don't know if they started
- 12:43Speaker 2: calling them the Five Eyes then, but that's when it
- 12:46Speaker 2: became an alliance of five countries and it's basically just
- 12:49Speaker 2: a global surveillance network. They just spy on people. They
- 12:54Speaker 2: pledge to share electronic surveillance information with each other and
- 12:59Speaker 2: to not spy on each other. So I don't know
- 13:01Speaker 2: if people remember that thing that happened under Obama where
- 13:05Speaker 2: we got caught spying on Germany and people were like,
- 13:08Speaker 2: why would you spy on one of your allies? And
- 13:12Speaker 2: it's because we literally have four countries that we won't
- 13:14Speaker 2: spy on anyone else is fucking fair game, including fucking Israel, Germany, France,
- 13:23Speaker 2: South Africa, any of the countries that you normally think
- 13:26Speaker 2: of as our tightest allies. Were like, no promises, we
- 13:30Speaker 2: still might spy on your shit.
- 13:31Speaker 3: What do we have on New Zealand? What kind of
- 13:34Speaker 3: Jeffrey Epstein shit makes us go, oh, they'll be cool.
- 13:39Speaker 3: I'm not worried about New Zealand.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Yeah, no idea. What do New Zealand to me feels
- 13:45Speaker 2: like the Canada of Australia. And once you have Australia.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Do you need New Zealand to participate?
- 13:51Speaker 1: Yeah, but then if we don't have New Zealand, then
- 13:53Speaker 1: we're the four Eyes and that doesn't sound cool. There
- 13:55Speaker 1: was like a bunch of dorks, We're millhouse fucking nerd.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Yeah, that wouldn't be good.
- 14:02Speaker 1: No, got to round it out.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Yeah. I just sort of think of New Zealand as
- 14:06Speaker 3: like being an even split between like a dwindling population
- 14:11Speaker 3: of white ancestral sheepfuckers, irish guy here in those shade,
- 14:15Speaker 3: and then like a bunch of game, new ole new
- 14:18Speaker 3: money tech billionaires like building their like apocalypse built bunkers
- 14:22Speaker 3: and the rolling hills.
- 14:23Speaker 2: I have no preconceived notions of New Zealand that extend
- 14:29Speaker 2: beyond flight of the Concords. I assume that's everyone in
- 14:33Speaker 2: New Zealand. So it seems like a cool place to me.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I got a real Lord of the Rings focused
- 14:39Speaker 1: view of.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Gota.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Everywhere is just hobbiting to me.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Man, I don't know, Yeah, I hope it's like a mashup.
- 14:47Speaker 2: I hope it's just really funny hobbits, like really skilled
- 14:51Speaker 2: musical comedy hobbits.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Look at all these droll little fellas.
- 14:57Speaker 2: That would be great. Yeah, I'm in in the comments
- 15:00Speaker 2: if we're right.
- 15:00Speaker 3: New Zealand they made us a flagon of strawberry cordial.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Just sitting there smoking pipe weeds sound dope.
- 15:09Speaker 3: I think that's actually a Red Wall reference, not a
- 15:11Speaker 3: Lord of the Rings reference. But I reveal myself, Connor,
- 15:15Speaker 3: you're embarrassing us. I know I'm gonna I got to
- 15:19Speaker 3: Sellmarillion upstairs too. I should be ashamed of myself.
- 15:21Speaker 2: I just mentioned Germany and how we were spying on
- 15:25Speaker 2: them under Obama and probably under Trump, Biden, Clinton, Bush,
- 15:29Speaker 2: every other president.
- 15:31Speaker 3: And France also Toilet's cameras.
- 15:36Speaker 2: They both have wanted to be in the Five Eyes
- 15:39Speaker 2: for a long long time.
- 15:43Speaker 1: They don't speak American. That's why we only want people
- 15:46Speaker 1: to speak Americans.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's a big part of it. There's
- 15:53Speaker 2: going to be a language barrier, and also we don't
- 15:55Speaker 2: need them because the point of this is to have
- 15:58Speaker 2: eyes in pretty much every part of the world.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it's the filey, it's not the sex Algan and
- 16:09Speaker 3: one German guys.
- 16:10Speaker 2: That the UK can cover Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
- 16:15Speaker 2: They're close enough to any Asian nation. We'd need to
- 16:18Speaker 2: spy on that.
- 16:19Speaker 3: We break it up like fucking sports divisions kind of. Yeah,
- 16:23Speaker 3: New Zealand's the AFC East of reading your emails.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Correct, Okay, Yeah, I think we're the commissioner of this
- 16:31Speaker 2: fucking league. I think we kind of run it. But yeah,
- 16:34Speaker 2: that's actually a good way to put it. I think
- 16:36Speaker 2: we just direct all these different intelligence agencies around the
- 16:39Speaker 2: world when we want them to spy on shit for us.
- 16:42Speaker 1: So Germany is like Seattle, just like begging to get
- 16:45Speaker 1: back in the game.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Yeah, shouldn't have sent your franchise to Oklahoma City, idiot,
- 16:49Speaker 2: I'm from Seattle.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I shouldn't have brought it up. Very I'm still very upset.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Only Sonics y're getting got the two gay gays and
- 16:58Speaker 3: the commercials eating slushy drinks and cheese toots and what
- 17:04Speaker 3: have you.
- 17:05Speaker 2: So, an intelligence expert speaking to PBS in twenty thirteen said,
- 17:10Speaker 2: the arrangement the five Eyes have quote makes it quicker
- 17:13Speaker 2: to connect the dots end quote.
- 17:15Speaker 3: I think Five Eyes taste better than Sonic because they
- 17:18Speaker 3: do this cage and fries.
- 17:20Speaker 1: They don't season their meat though, this is the problem.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Well, they got real ice cream and the milkshakes and
- 17:25Speaker 3: the fucking free peanuts. I mean, call me an elephant.
- 17:28Speaker 3: I love free peanuts.
- 17:29Speaker 2: That same expert added, you can't underestimate the importance of
- 17:32Speaker 2: the common language, legal system, and culture, and then added,
- 17:37Speaker 2: above all, there is total trust. I doubt that the culture.
- 17:41Speaker 1: What do they mean blue jeans? What culture?
- 17:43Speaker 3: What have they? They could have just written the absence
- 17:46Speaker 3: of melon and.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Yeah you think they just mean capitalism?
- 17:51Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I mean that is the dominant culture of
- 17:54Speaker 3: the earth.
- 17:55Speaker 2: I'm sure that's all they really mean.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like the fucking the people are gonna be
- 18:00Speaker 3: who had the most important people in human history after
- 18:03Speaker 3: they collapse and be like shit, pretty sure based on
- 18:06Speaker 3: from what we could tell, it was Goku and Mickey
- 18:08Speaker 3: Mouse were kind of like the Kennedy and Khrushchev of
- 18:11Speaker 3: the whole thing.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Not even Superman anymore. Damn Stepard game up Clark Kent.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Yeah sucks.
- 18:17Speaker 3: It was always a fucking mediare character. I'm a fucking
- 18:20Speaker 3: lazy comedy writer, and I know lazy writing when I
- 18:22Speaker 3: see it. Those two Jews were phoning it in that day.
- 18:26Speaker 3: And he's stronger than everything. I don't know. Fuck it,
- 18:30Speaker 3: ice breath when you get the ice breath. It's like
- 18:32Speaker 3: eat shit, all right, what are we talking about anymore?
- 18:36Speaker 3: My eyes are hot, my breath is cold.
- 18:38Speaker 2: So the other reason we all agree not to spy
- 18:41Speaker 2: on each other. This is a quote from a retired
- 18:43Speaker 2: official familiar with the Five Eyes Project. There is very
- 18:47Speaker 2: little we need to know about these countries and their
- 18:49Speaker 2: leadership's views that the leaders wouldn't tell us themselves. And
- 18:54Speaker 2: that seems like also kind of the point that if
- 18:56Speaker 2: you get one of these world leaders in a room alone,
- 18:59Speaker 2: they know they can talk to you without being recorded,
- 19:03Speaker 2: which I don't know how that prevents, like an outside
- 19:06Speaker 2: country from recording both of you, but sure.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Or from the Prime Minister of New Zealand the bug
- 19:12Speaker 3: gossiping about the Prime Minister of Canada.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's where aba hot tea gets spilled.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Loose lips sink ships.
- 19:19Speaker 3: He still does the blackface sing in private. I don't
- 19:23Speaker 3: know why there's a German prime Minister of New Zealand.
- 19:28Speaker 3: And again I'm asking, like, what is this like presumption
- 19:31Speaker 3: of trust? Is this like some like do I need
- 19:33Speaker 3: to think about this in more brass fucking the real
- 19:36Speaker 3: polytique terms? Is it just the fact of the matter
- 19:39Speaker 3: that these five countries share so many common interests it
- 19:42Speaker 3: would be silly or antithetical to the engine of capitalism
- 19:47Speaker 3: to compete or deceive one another. I don't know, it's
- 19:51Speaker 3: just fucking strange. It's bro code who gets along with anybody?
- 19:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's just mutually beneficial.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:59Speaker 3: Two of these countries spun off from one of the
- 20:01Speaker 3: other countries, Like, how have we forgot about that?
- 20:05Speaker 2: Three?
- 20:05Speaker 3: Oh? Yeah, I think all of the spinoffs.
- 20:10Speaker 1: We're all there. It's like succession, just we're all trying
- 20:13Speaker 1: to do better than Daddy.
- 20:15Speaker 3: This is the Joey of England. Y. Yeah, I actually
- 20:19Speaker 3: like Joey the.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Way they describe it. It seems like it's just easier.
- 20:24Speaker 2: If say there's someone in Australia that we need to
- 20:29Speaker 2: track or monitor or surveill, we just dial up Australia
- 20:33Speaker 2: and have their people do it. And same thing for
- 20:35Speaker 2: Australia if they're tracking an Australian dissident. I don't know
- 20:39Speaker 2: if those exist except for banned midnight oil and shit.
- 20:43Speaker 2: But other than that, if they have to track someone
- 20:46Speaker 2: in the US.
- 20:46Speaker 3: They have us do it.
- 20:47Speaker 2: It's easy. We should have something that in places.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Like if the mean Boys took our five thousand die
- 20:52Speaker 3: hard podcast fans, and we found the band with five
- 20:55Speaker 3: thousand die hard noise rock fans, and we just were like,
- 20:59Speaker 3: let's just share venues. We're driving about the same crowds.
- 21:02Speaker 3: You know, we could use the contact like.
- 21:04Speaker 1: I think that's just comedy in the mid two thousands.
- 21:07Speaker 1: That's just the way that we were doing it back then.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, what is it now?
- 21:11Speaker 1: I just I don't know, man, I do want my
- 21:13Speaker 1: shirt on the internet.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Now, fucking zoom Yeah, I was gonna say a zoom link. Yeah,
- 21:18Speaker 3: this podcast. There's no one fucking driving the places that
- 21:21Speaker 3: smell like you're in anymore for anyone.
- 21:23Speaker 1: We used to be a proper country.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Sorry, I'm not fucking driving anywhere for anyone for goddamn Sure.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Adam loves the great reset. Every unpops since twenty twenty
- 21:32Speaker 3: has been digital.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Sorry, you both didn't have to drive an hour
- 21:37Speaker 2: and a half to do this today. I know that
- 21:38Speaker 2: would have been way cooler. So just because we don't
- 21:42Speaker 2: promise to not spy on a country doesn't mean they
- 21:45Speaker 2: don't want to work with us. We are the greatest
- 21:48Speaker 2: God blessed nation on earth, after all, So to that end,
- 21:53Speaker 2: there are extended versions of the Five Ey's partnership.
- 21:58Speaker 3: These are the Five Eyes kill Abe Yes, Yes, the Associates.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Wu Tang Affiliates, the Nine Eyes. That agreement adds Denmark,
- 22:08Speaker 2: France's winy Ass, the Netherlands in Norway and Redman.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Wait, young, dirty bastard, you want me to keep going?
- 22:21Speaker 3: I kind of do, all right, well, as soon as
- 22:24Speaker 3: this Wikipedia page loads.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Again. Those countries are not safe from being spied on
- 22:32Speaker 2: by the Five Eyes.
- 22:33Speaker 3: The grave Diggers remember them.
- 22:36Speaker 2: But they do get some sort of unknown benefits for
- 22:41Speaker 2: not being mad about it. I guess no one really
- 22:44Speaker 2: knows what the nine Eyes countries get for their relationship
- 22:48Speaker 2: with us. I know, like Norway that gives us a
- 22:52Speaker 2: nine Eyes country on the border with Russia, so I'm
- 22:55Speaker 2: sure that's why they're beneficial to us. But there's also
- 22:59Speaker 2: the fourteen.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Yeah, and Russia was like, hey, Cuba, fucking we just
- 23:03Speaker 3: love weird sandwiches and old cars. We want to be friends.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah right. It was also the fourteen Eyes, which adds Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain,
- 23:13Speaker 2: and Sweden to the party.
- 23:15Speaker 3: It's also the twenty Eyes, which adds all four of
- 23:19Speaker 3: the original misfits. Anybody walk among us? Nope, okay, no,
- 23:25Speaker 3: just it's starting to.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Sound a lot like the Greek organizations where you have
- 23:29Speaker 1: the ones that like work together and then hey, if
- 23:31Speaker 1: you're cool with us, then we'll have sorority and fraternity
- 23:34Speaker 1: parties and we all get to hang out and have
- 23:36Speaker 1: a big kegger and a big ragier, you know, and
- 23:38Speaker 1: that's like the benefit is that you get to come
- 23:40Speaker 1: and touch the orb or whatever.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Went over to her house last night. She let me
- 23:44Speaker 3: touch the orb.
- 23:45Speaker 2: The it's I also wonder if part of it is, well,
- 23:49Speaker 2: if you let us spy on your citizens, we'll let
- 23:52Speaker 2: you know if they're up to anything, Like I bet.
- 23:55Speaker 2: We just want to be able to spy on everyone everywhere,
- 24:00Speaker 2: And so I wonder if the different levels are the
- 24:03Speaker 2: degree to which they let us spy on them.
- 24:07Speaker 1: I mean, I kind of think at a certain point
- 24:08Speaker 1: it's like we're gonna do it anyway, so either you
- 24:12Speaker 1: can be really cool about it or not. You know,
- 24:16Speaker 1: we're almost like, you know, the guys coming in to
- 24:19Speaker 1: a new restaurant, a convenience store, like holding the baseball bat, like, man,
- 24:23Speaker 1: it'd be really messed up if somebody fucked your cute
- 24:26Speaker 1: little country up here. But you know, if you let
- 24:29Speaker 1: us look over everything for you, then we'll keep you safe.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Hit hit hit, hit on the hand.
- 24:36Speaker 3: America so fucked.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:38Speaker 3: I guess in the rest of the world, they say, like,
- 24:40Speaker 3: when America visits, we get a scolding. When China visits,
- 24:42Speaker 3: we get a hospital with their whole like Belton Road
- 24:45Speaker 3: initiative of just giving infrastructure to people with all their
- 24:48Speaker 3: slavery money or whatever the fuck. And we're still on
- 24:51Speaker 3: the fucking We're still on mean Dad, We're still on
- 24:53Speaker 3: mean fifties coach dad mode. Fucking crew cut. Take a
- 24:58Speaker 3: salt tablet, not being do some push ups on them.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Oh but we got New Zealand, so we're fine. Any
- 25:06Speaker 3: threats coming in from the North Pole.
- 25:09Speaker 2: I don't know if that's completely accurate when it comes
- 25:11Speaker 2: to China's dealings around the world.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Not the picture.
- 25:15Speaker 2: They're going out and issuing loans to countries where they
- 25:20Speaker 2: know those countries aren't going to be able to pay
- 25:21Speaker 2: those loans back.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Some tony soprano, happy wanderer China loans, Yeah, and.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Then they call those loans in and they're like, all right, well,
- 25:29Speaker 2: just give us all your fucking lithium then so we
- 25:31Speaker 2: can make fun.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Yeah, all these countries are just the mobs.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Yeah you get mineral rights, you're so golden.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Well, but that is what China in large part is
- 25:41Speaker 2: pushing for around the world is mineral rights. Someone's got
- 25:44Speaker 2: to have them. Someone's got to make all these fucking
- 25:46Speaker 2: gadgets and devices that we fucking rely on. And China
- 25:50Speaker 2: wants to be the country that does it. And you
- 25:52Speaker 2: know what, they make a good product. Why the fuck not.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Huawei phone is my favorite phone I've ever had. It
- 25:58Speaker 2: was like having a top of the line on iPhone
- 26:00Speaker 2: that I paid two hundred and forty nine dollars for.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Are you serious?
- 26:04Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what the twenty twenty one episode was in
- 26:07Speaker 2: large part about, was the demonization of Huawei. At that
- 26:12Speaker 2: point in history, they were the number two smartphone company
- 26:16Speaker 2: in the world. It was I think Samsung was number one.
- 26:21Speaker 3: And that's this company is owned by Boat Lowly.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Yeah, well it's it's a Chinese company, and so we
- 26:29Speaker 2: accused them of using their devices to spy on citizens.
- 26:33Speaker 2: And I think it's the same thing as TikTok, where
- 26:36Speaker 2: it's not that we care about spying, we just want
- 26:39Speaker 2: to be the ones to do it right, and.
- 26:40Speaker 1: If anybody else does it, then now we have competition.
- 26:43Speaker 3: So yeah, we've almost just been doing the climax of
- 26:46Speaker 3: the Dark Knight for the last fifteen years. Who controls
- 26:49Speaker 3: the network of spy you know, of information of the
- 26:53Speaker 3: zeros and ones of every cell phone on Earth? You know?
- 26:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it kind of seems like it. So there's also
- 27:00Speaker 2: third party contributors. Those are countries that sometimes share intelligence
- 27:04Speaker 2: with the Five Eyes, but they get even fewer benefits
- 27:07Speaker 2: for it. Somehow Israel is on that list.
- 27:10Speaker 3: That's probably that's diversionary. That's like, hey, but we really know.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Well no, I think it's just because we're talking surveillance
- 27:18Speaker 2: and Israel doesn't need our fucking help spying on anybody.
- 27:21Speaker 3: I thought it was more like when you keep your
- 27:23Speaker 3: side piece in your phone, as like, you know, carpeting guy.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, that could be so bad.
- 27:29Speaker 3: I am a cheating I was like, you know, what's
- 27:31Speaker 3: a good person I would text.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Cart Yeah, yeah, a carpet guy too. Not like that
- 27:38Speaker 2: implies you have the need for carpet regularly.
- 27:42Speaker 3: I don't go to the big chains, a small batch.
- 27:47Speaker 3: It's about personal relationships. The carpet business.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Yeah, small batch artists and carpets. So yeah. The simplest
- 27:53Speaker 2: definition of the Five Eyes is that it's a global
- 27:56Speaker 2: surveillance alliance. We learn from the Oden documents that they
- 28:01Speaker 2: have a few different programs at their disposal. One is
- 28:05Speaker 2: called Echelon, which.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Is sick name.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a great name. It uses communication satellites to
- 28:11Speaker 2: intercept private communications and then those are stored and analyzed
- 28:16Speaker 2: if need be. There's also the Prism program, which does
- 28:20Speaker 2: the same thing, but it collects communications from social media
- 28:23Speaker 2: and tech companies. The Five Eyes were also behind the
- 28:27Speaker 2: push to pass the Patriot Act, so that's great. Australia
- 28:30Speaker 2: and the UK passed similar laws to the Patriot Act
- 28:33Speaker 2: in twenty fifteen. In twenty sixteen, no rush, just wait
- 28:37Speaker 2: for us to win the war on terror and then
- 28:40Speaker 2: start passing your Patriot Acts. Also, they are adamantly opposed
- 28:44Speaker 2: to encryption on messaging platforms, which should tell you all
- 28:48Speaker 2: you need to know about encryption on messaging platforms and
- 28:52Speaker 2: how important it is. They released a statement in twenty
- 28:56Speaker 2: eighteen saying they were going to try and force tech
- 28:58Speaker 2: companies to provide Act access to bypass encryption and Australia
- 29:03Speaker 2: passed a law that makes that a thing in twenty eighteen.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Hasn't happened here yet.
- 29:08Speaker 3: But you gotta wonder, though, if Australia's got this thing
- 29:10Speaker 3: where Apple has to build in a back door. Well,
- 29:13Speaker 3: now somebody's built a back door for Apple. I wonder
- 29:15Speaker 3: if he is it.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Yeah, how hard could it be to access that once
- 29:19Speaker 2: it exists?
- 29:20Speaker 1: Because they're a best friend, They're a very best friend.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Yeah, if just some guy on YouTube can get like
- 29:25Speaker 3: the poorly coded in the first place and poorly maiden
- 29:28Speaker 3: designed Kenny Versus Spend the fan game from two thousand
- 29:31Speaker 3: and three running off of like an Internet archive rip
- 29:34Speaker 3: that was incompletely you know what I mean. Like now
- 29:36Speaker 3: the United States government can go on a get Hug
- 29:40Speaker 3: page and grab that a fucking decrypto.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and I've also read stories that claim the FBI
- 29:49Speaker 2: can pretty much get into any phone no matter what.
- 29:52Speaker 2: There's some but also I've heard they can't get into
- 29:54Speaker 2: Eric Adams phone, which that's funny to me, Like, of
- 29:57Speaker 2: all the people who just has the best phone own security,
- 30:01Speaker 2: it's that guy.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Which is maybe because maybe he was so sloppy because
- 30:06Speaker 1: he thought that his phone was so good that he
- 30:07Speaker 1: didn't like it was okay that he was making a
- 30:09Speaker 1: bunch of just like Baby's first crime mistakes.
- 30:13Speaker 2: You know, yeah, could be.
- 30:15Speaker 3: I think they can't get into it because there's so
- 30:16Speaker 3: many dick pics they can't even load the interface to
- 30:20Speaker 3: delete them, to clear space to make the phone more usable.
- 30:23Speaker 3: You ever have that, yes, now with pictures of your dick, well,
- 30:26Speaker 3: pictures of your dick?
- 30:27Speaker 2: Yeah, specifically, Yeah, I got all those pictures of Connor's dick, and.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Every night he asked for a wake up call, and
- 30:34Speaker 3: every morning I get this feel.
- 30:37Speaker 1: So how you show you care man?
- 30:38Speaker 3: Guy time.
- 30:41Speaker 2: So one of the pushbacks you always get when it
- 30:44Speaker 2: comes to the Five Eyes and just government surveillance in general,
- 30:49Speaker 2: is oh, well, if you aren't breaking the law, you
- 30:52Speaker 2: don't have anything to worry about, And that is so incorrect.
- 30:57Speaker 2: You obviously have something to worry about if there are
- 31:00Speaker 2: entities out there collecting just all of your personal information
- 31:05Speaker 2: and communications and storing them somewhere, Because even if the
- 31:10Speaker 2: regime that's in charge now isn't using it for nefarious shit,
- 31:15Speaker 2: there could very well be a regime that comes along
- 31:18Speaker 2: at some point and decides to use that for the
- 31:21Speaker 2: nefarious shit.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Also, it's just it's that same thing of like anybody
- 31:26Speaker 1: can sue for anything. It doesn't mean that the lawsuits
- 31:29Speaker 1: going to be successful. It doesn't mean you know that
- 31:33Speaker 1: there is a guilty party. It just means that anyone
- 31:36Speaker 1: can sue for anything. And you might be innocent, but
- 31:41Speaker 1: it's still a pain in the ass for two years.
- 31:44Speaker 1: And so imagine if that pain in the ass is
- 31:46Speaker 1: coming from the government and you having to fight the
- 31:49Speaker 1: government to prove that you're innocent to the government. And
- 31:53Speaker 1: in the meantime, all of your personal information is out
- 31:56Speaker 1: there in discovery documents where just anybody could read it
- 31:59Speaker 1: or or you know, when the Justice Department releases anything,
- 32:03Speaker 1: or you know like that that can happen. So I
- 32:07Speaker 1: used to be a paralegal, So these are things I
- 32:09Speaker 1: think about. So even if you are innocent, that doesn't
- 32:13Speaker 1: mean your life can't still be completely destroyed. Then ways
- 32:17Speaker 1: that are legal and okay, by the way that the
- 32:21Speaker 1: legal system works.
- 32:22Speaker 3: They have so much more access and so much more leverage.
- 32:24Speaker 3: You're right, It is like trying to convince Stanto that
- 32:27Speaker 3: you're a good person. He's like, well, I do know
- 32:31Speaker 3: about the laffy taffies and stucond You remember the laughy taffies.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Yeah. One of the articles will link to about this
- 32:40Speaker 2: points to China's social credit system as an example of
- 32:45Speaker 2: how all this data collection could go wrong really quick.
- 32:48Speaker 2: And I feel like we're probably not as far away
- 32:52Speaker 2: from something like the social credit system here in the
- 32:56Speaker 2: United States then people would like to think.
- 32:58Speaker 3: I feel like the infrastructure has been like getting laid down.
- 33:01Speaker 3: I also, sidebar, do you wonder how many, like how
- 33:04Speaker 3: many acres of the rainforest have been burned to just
- 33:07Speaker 3: turn my fucking foreign hub search history into a string
- 33:10Speaker 3: of zeros and ones for no reason, you know.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Yeah, And think about Project twenty twenty five if you've
- 33:17Speaker 2: looked into that at all. It essentially demands loyalty to
- 33:22Speaker 2: the president. That's one of the foundational things about Project
- 33:26Speaker 2: twenty twenty five. And that includes government workers, like they
- 33:30Speaker 2: want kind of a purity test, I guess for civil servants.
- 33:34Speaker 2: And if you're not loyal to the Trump administration, you're
- 33:38Speaker 2: fired and they're going to replace you with someone who is.
- 33:41Speaker 2: What happens when they expand that to something like a
- 33:45Speaker 2: social credit system where oh, well, Trump is our president
- 33:50Speaker 2: and you have said all this shit about Trump on
- 33:53Speaker 2: social media over the years. Now you can't rent an apartment, sorry,
- 33:58Speaker 2: Like it would take maybe a month for a Trump
- 34:01Speaker 2: administration to implement something like that, because they have all
- 34:06Speaker 2: this goddamn data already.
- 34:07Speaker 3: And I would be surprised that there's some fucking thing
- 34:11Speaker 3: you can queue up in a database somewhere where it's like, oh, yes,
- 34:14Speaker 3: mister mc spaden has torrented over ninety eight feature films
- 34:19Speaker 3: and twenty three television shows. He's stolen about nineteen thousand
- 34:24Speaker 3: dollars worth of Crystal LIGHTE packets from his local target,
- 34:28Speaker 3: you know what I mean. And then he's just and
- 34:29Speaker 3: it's like at com Man, you're at a sixty three
- 34:33Speaker 3: percent under one hundred. You know that's going to stop
- 34:36Speaker 3: you from You can't ride the train anymore, no Amtrak
- 34:38Speaker 3: or something, you know what I mean. It'll be some
- 34:40Speaker 3: weird shit like.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Spectrum already has all of that information. And even
- 34:43Speaker 1: you know, there's that Google lawsuit where if you used
- 34:46Speaker 1: private browsing, it's not as private as they said that
- 34:49Speaker 1: it was. And so yeah, you know, one of these
- 34:52Speaker 1: days you're trying to get on an track or trying
- 34:55Speaker 1: to get on a flight, But it turns out you
- 34:57Speaker 1: can't because you have two hundred and fifty gigs of
- 34:59Speaker 1: big titty MILFs and now no more flying for you.
- 35:02Speaker 1: You can't even get on spirit.
- 35:04Speaker 3: As much as of a crazy conspiracy tech guys, I've
- 35:07Speaker 3: been my entire life, never used a VPN, never even
- 35:10Speaker 3: fucking hit control shift in Come kill me, leak all
- 35:16Speaker 3: of it. I am who I am.
- 35:17Speaker 1: He'll take his big titty MILFs from his cold dead ends.
- 35:21Speaker 3: Oh I wish it was big titty MILFs.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Aren't the big titty MILF's worth the sacrifice?
- 35:27Speaker 1: Also, that's my America.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Yeah, you can take boats to get places. What do
- 35:31Speaker 2: you need to fly for one of the Wright brothers.
- 35:34Speaker 3: You can just float there, your big tittied milf waft
- 35:38Speaker 3: down the river with those jumbo jung yungs.
- 35:41Speaker 2: But yeah, I absolutely could see something like that being
- 35:44Speaker 2: a thing, especially there was that huge hack recently where
- 35:49Speaker 2: they just announced, hey, everyone knows your social Security number.
- 35:53Speaker 2: Now it's out there on the dark web. As that
- 35:56Speaker 2: happens more and more, I think people are just gonna
- 35:58Speaker 2: not trust our current credit system.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Do you have been asking so many questions about mister Presley,
- 36:08Speaker 3: mister Brown.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:11Speaker 2: I mean it could very easily be that. And think
- 36:14Speaker 2: about sites like next door that are just training oh
- 36:18Speaker 2: my god, opulations to spy on each.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Other, every fucking aspect of the surveillance state that's entered
- 36:25Speaker 3: our lives. It's been so funny. We have welcomed it
- 36:27Speaker 3: in and paid one thousand dollars and stood in line
- 36:30Speaker 3: for it. You know, like they just make all this
- 36:32Speaker 3: shit seem cool, like, oh, you're helping your neighborhood by
- 36:36Speaker 3: being a fucking snitch.
- 36:38Speaker 2: You know.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Alert, Alert, everybody, make sure to pay attention. I saw
- 36:41Speaker 1: a car they were going and they seemed to drive
- 36:43Speaker 1: by an address and then look at the address and
- 36:46Speaker 1: then shake their heads and then say I don't think
- 36:48Speaker 1: this is the right address and then keep moving. And
- 36:49Speaker 1: they were wearing a hoodie. Do I call the police?
- 36:52Speaker 1: Everyone pay attention. It's like, what are we doing?
- 36:54Speaker 2: Yeah, the first comment's going to be were they black?
- 36:57Speaker 3: Yeah? I was about to say five minutes period respons
- 37:00Speaker 3: bread this is black.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's mostly what next door is for. It's for
- 37:07Speaker 2: reporting when black people show up in your neighborhood.
- 37:10Speaker 3: It's the act. The full name of the app is
- 37:12Speaker 3: actually called next door parenthes I don't want them living,
- 37:18Speaker 3: so I don't know.
- 37:19Speaker 2: I think that is what you should tell a person
- 37:23Speaker 2: when they say, oh, if you're not breaking the law,
- 37:25Speaker 2: who cares about all that surveillance. Gotta think about the future.
- 37:28Speaker 3: Well, yeah, that's what always thinking about the social credit score.
- 37:30Speaker 3: If it's retroactive, I'm boned. I was boned by episode
- 37:34Speaker 3: of eight of Mean Boys. But if it's going forward,
- 37:37Speaker 3: I mean, I know how to pimp the system. I
- 37:38Speaker 3: can fucking pretend. I love the Chinese governments. That's not hard.
- 37:43Speaker 2: They give us so much guys, Come on, Yeah, I
- 37:46Speaker 2: wonder what their impression of me is from that time
- 37:49Speaker 2: I owned a Huawei phone. I hope they like me
- 37:52Speaker 2: in case they ever take over the world.
- 37:54Speaker 3: Some guy with big headphones who's for some reason in
- 37:56Speaker 3: a Chinese van that says Larry's flowers more Mariah Carey
- 38:03Speaker 3: than I was expected.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Every time it clicks on your things, just you just
- 38:08Speaker 1: hear her Christmas time saying like it's time over and
- 38:11Speaker 1: over again. Last really loves Christmas in my official file.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Huh yeah. Yeah. The reason I bought that Huawei phone
- 38:19Speaker 2: is as soon as I heard that the government was
- 38:22Speaker 2: concerned China could use it to spy on me. My
- 38:24Speaker 2: thought was, Oh, so that means you can't spy on
- 38:26Speaker 2: me with ah yeah. Yeah. Between the two, I'm gonna
- 38:30Speaker 2: pick China spying on me over the US government. I
- 38:33Speaker 2: have more gripe with the US government. Not that I
- 38:36Speaker 2: have no gripes with Chinese government, but we.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Should all have gripe with every government just as a
- 38:41Speaker 1: general rule.
- 38:43Speaker 3: I do have to. I'm just was marveling at Adam's conspiracy.
- 38:46Speaker 3: Okham's raiser there. That was really beautiful.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Eh, thank you.
- 38:51Speaker 3: I'm gonna go one of those phones. Now, how's the camera?
- 38:53Speaker 3: Is the camera good?
- 38:54Speaker 2: It was great? It was I'm telling you, it's one
- 38:56Speaker 2: of the best phones I ever had. But I think
- 38:58Speaker 2: they're like borderline illegal.
- 39:00Speaker 3: To buy in this country now when the price point
- 39:04Speaker 3: just doesn't scream consensual labor.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, man. Yeah. As opposed to all the happy
- 39:11Speaker 2: fun times people putting Apple phones together, they got a net.
- 39:20Speaker 1: It's the happ net. It's where happy people are, how
- 39:22Speaker 1: happy they are by jumping into the net.
- 39:25Speaker 3: Divorced of the life of servitude looks kind of fun
- 39:29Speaker 3: to jump in a giant net. I mean, I used
- 39:31Speaker 3: to go to the gymnastics gym on Sundays in my neighborhood.
- 39:33Speaker 3: There's an open gym in ten Bucks. You're playing the
- 39:35Speaker 3: big long trampoline. I don't see much of a difference.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that would be so brutal. You are so unhappy
- 39:43Speaker 2: in your job that you jump off the fucking building.
- 39:47Speaker 3: Only to roll back down to the first floor into
- 39:49Speaker 3: the lobby.
- 39:50Speaker 2: You get a net and just bounce right back to
- 39:53Speaker 2: your mask on the floor.
- 39:56Speaker 3: Oh god, damn, that's one sideshow. Bob works at the iPhone.
- 40:02Speaker 2: So the other thing I always worry about when it
- 40:05Speaker 2: comes to all of this data collection, and I've said
- 40:08Speaker 2: this a bunch before, not just all the data collection,
- 40:11Speaker 2: but just the fact that dreamers are a thing in
- 40:16Speaker 2: this country. DACA it's obviously a good thing. I'm not
- 40:21Speaker 2: in favor of mass deportations by any stretch of the imagination,
- 40:25Speaker 2: but now that they're on the table with Trump maybe
- 40:29Speaker 2: becoming our next president again, DACA is also just a
- 40:33Speaker 2: really great database of people who are probably going to
- 40:37Speaker 2: get deported first. Yeah right, yeah, all that shit happens.
- 40:41Speaker 3: What's having a fight one time with a buddy of
- 40:44Speaker 3: mine is from Africa, and the buddy of mine is gay,
- 40:46Speaker 3: so they obviously probably a pretty different view of HIV
- 40:50Speaker 3: and a it's my friend from Africa was saying, like,
- 40:52Speaker 3: this is like a global health risk. There should be
- 40:54Speaker 3: a list of everyone in the world, in the world
- 40:56Speaker 3: with HIV or for whatever some uneducated guys. Is not
- 40:59Speaker 3: the craziest opinion to have. And my gay friend was like,
- 41:02Speaker 3: it's never been a good idea for there to be
- 41:04Speaker 3: a giant list of gay people, you say, and then yeah,
- 41:07Speaker 3: I think that's true.
- 41:08Speaker 2: So yeah, that that's something to keep in mind when
- 41:12Speaker 2: people write this off as nothing that important.
- 41:15Speaker 3: That is a funny way. It's not even like expanding
- 41:17Speaker 3: executive power in terms of what you got to worry
- 41:19Speaker 3: about like the next guy using it. It's like we
- 41:22Speaker 3: literally we made a list of vulnerable people to help,
- 41:24Speaker 3: and it's like, fuck me, nowhere all the vulnerable people.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Yeah, they have a list of addresses and their parents.
- 41:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm pretty sure that program requires you to
- 41:33Speaker 2: like regularly check in like you're.
- 41:35Speaker 1: On pretty sure.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean that's what when people are talking about
- 41:40Speaker 2: Haitian immigrants flocking to Springfield, Ohio. The program they're doing
- 41:46Speaker 2: that under is literally called humanitarian parole. So it's god.
- 41:52Speaker 2: That's a weird word to use for it.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, right, we gotta we got to fold it
- 41:57Speaker 3: into the penal system somehow. Always, yeah, because it.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Just makes it sound like they are bad, but we
- 42:05Speaker 1: are helping, you know what I mean? Like it doesn't
- 42:07Speaker 1: it already kind of sets them in a light of
- 42:11Speaker 1: being suspicious just by having the word parole there. Because
- 42:14Speaker 1: of what we use the word parole for colloquially.
- 42:17Speaker 3: I feel like it's you called Nelson Mandela getting out
- 42:19Speaker 3: of jail work release.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, a little bit kind of.
- 42:22Speaker 3: I don't know. Sometimes I cook up an analogy and
- 42:24Speaker 3: I get real confident, and I'm like, is that even? So?
- 42:28Speaker 2: I already mentioned the Five Eyes are getting into AI now.
- 42:33Speaker 2: They held a summit recently, and for one thing, they're
- 42:38Speaker 2: starting to show their faces in public. The leaders of
- 42:40Speaker 2: the Five Eyes almost never emerged from their layers.
- 42:44Speaker 3: This is like, they don't even show their faces. You
- 42:47Speaker 3: can't like. John Ronson and Alex Jones never even broke
- 42:49Speaker 3: into their secret clubhouse with a fucking flip cam in
- 42:52Speaker 3: nineteen ninety eight and took grainy video of them doing
- 42:54Speaker 3: any There's no fucking TMZ picture of them going into
- 42:58Speaker 3: the Plaza Hotel.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Fucking doctor klaw Man. We got nothing.
- 43:02Speaker 3: This is doctor Claw.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Yeah there is now Now they're starting to show up,
- 43:06Speaker 2: but and that almost makes me feel even less good
- 43:10Speaker 2: about that.
- 43:11Speaker 3: They're like, we can show our faces in public now
- 43:13Speaker 3: with the sunlight no longer burns our skin.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Yeah yeah.
- 43:16Speaker 1: And it's also that thing that I was talking about earlier,
- 43:18Speaker 1: about the dog whistles, when you no longer feel like
- 43:21Speaker 1: you have to use them because you can just say
- 43:24Speaker 1: the quiet part out loud. It's like, oh I can't
- 43:26Speaker 1: there's nothing you can do to me. I can just
- 43:28Speaker 1: be public.
- 43:29Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, really.
- 43:30Speaker 2: And I've talked a bunch on this podcast about how
- 43:34Speaker 2: the CIA has an investment fund, like a Silicon Valley
- 43:39Speaker 2: tech bro investment fund called intel Q to the Moon.
- 43:44Speaker 3: I would buy that shit. That would be my whole
- 43:46Speaker 3: take it all out of index funds, buck the s
- 43:49Speaker 3: and P five hundred Intel Q to the Moon, Me
- 43:53Speaker 3: and Pelosi baby.
- 43:54Speaker 2: Yeah. They, among other things, were early investors in Google Earth.
- 44:00Speaker 2: If you can believe that the CIA for some reason
- 44:04Speaker 2: wanted to pump money into the program that will take
- 44:07Speaker 2: a picture of anywhere on Earth, weird time crazy go figure.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that is really want to see a picture of
- 44:14Speaker 1: my parents backyard.
- 44:15Speaker 3: That's tight trying to find that river full of milks
- 44:17Speaker 3: from earlier. Yeah, move wider than a mile. You're jiggling
- 44:29Speaker 3: in style.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Okay, I bring the CIA's investment fund up because the
- 44:35Speaker 2: Five Eyes are now hosting an annual tech conference in
- 44:39Speaker 2: Silicon Valley.
- 44:40Speaker 3: Because even if you told me Isis was having a
- 44:43Speaker 3: bake off, you know, I wouldn't be through. It's whatever
- 44:46Speaker 3: these guys were doing, it's not great, but that seems
- 44:48Speaker 3: especially bad.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that to me, just it kind of
- 44:54Speaker 2: speaks to what Danielle was saying in that it's really
- 44:57Speaker 2: just normalizing the fact that, yeah, the government's on your phone,
- 45:02Speaker 2: like they listening to everything.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Remember when, Yeah, that just seemed like the kind of
- 45:07Speaker 1: thing that you would have to watch a Vice special
- 45:09Speaker 1: to see, you know what I mean. It wasn't some
- 45:12Speaker 1: big thing that was right out in the open.
- 45:14Speaker 3: You'd have to go to your buddy's smelly garage and
- 45:18Speaker 3: listen to a twenty minute analysis of some cool lyrics
- 45:22Speaker 3: and then.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and now it's just look well, like Connor was
- 45:27Speaker 2: saying earlier, a lot of the things that are used
- 45:30Speaker 2: to spy on us. We fucking stand in line to
- 45:33Speaker 2: get it. And the example I always bring up I look, suh,
- 45:36Speaker 2: yeah exactly. I covered a book on a couple episodes
- 45:41Speaker 2: a while back called the CIA and the Cult of Intelligence.
- 45:44Speaker 3: That one's the ones that's out of print, right, yeah.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it's long out of print. It was the first
- 45:49Speaker 2: book the government ever tried to get censored, and they
- 45:52Speaker 2: did get a lot of it censored.
- 45:54Speaker 3: Man atb got some fucking hard to get us books
- 45:59Speaker 3: that we don't need to be reading.
- 46:01Speaker 2: And one of the big concerns in that book, and
- 46:06Speaker 2: that book was published in like seventy one something like that,
- 46:09Speaker 2: one of the big concerns is, oh, well, someday the
- 46:12Speaker 2: government will probably just have a way to take a
- 46:16Speaker 2: picture of every piece of mail that's sent to your house.
- 46:19Speaker 2: You can just sign up for that. Now, that's just
- 46:21Speaker 2: a USPS program I am called informed. That's so funny,
- 46:26Speaker 2: in case you know your mailbox is one hundred yards
- 46:29Speaker 2: away and you need an informed decision on whether you
- 46:32Speaker 2: should get up and walk that far that day.
- 46:34Speaker 3: I think we're pretty aggressively self parodying the most hamfisted
- 46:39Speaker 3: first thought analogy, which is nineteen eighty four. The fucking
- 46:43Speaker 3: telescreens where you watch a thing that tells you what
- 46:46Speaker 3: to think all day and it looks at everything you
- 46:48Speaker 3: do so it can make sure that you're not fucking up,
- 46:51Speaker 3: And like, how close have we? And we all know
- 46:53Speaker 3: that's the relationship. Every fucking uber driver I've ever met
- 46:57Speaker 3: makes a joke about how their phone is listening to them.
- 46:59Speaker 3: It's not a concept is hidden behind some barrier of
- 47:02Speaker 3: libertarian douchebaggery. We all know about this shit, and we're
- 47:07Speaker 3: just like, well, that's where I get my fucking costco
- 47:10Speaker 3: family boom more.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Dude, and your employers do it too. I remember when
- 47:16Speaker 1: I got I got a work issue laptop for a
- 47:18Speaker 1: job that I was on, and I noticed that, like
- 47:21Speaker 1: my boss had like a piece of opaque tape that
- 47:24Speaker 1: she would put over her camera every time she would
- 47:27Speaker 1: bust her computer out. And I was like, oh, you're
- 47:30Speaker 1: like in charge of most of this. I should probably
- 47:33Speaker 1: do that with my work computer as well.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Oh Zucker peercast when you ever see that, Yeah, but
- 47:38Speaker 3: the only time you want to take a cue from
- 47:40Speaker 3: him about anything.
- 47:41Speaker 2: But yeah, there were I don't remember who it was,
- 47:43Speaker 2: but someone was visiting Facebook headquarters and they saw Mark
- 47:47Speaker 2: Zuckerberg had tape over his webcam and they were like, fuck,
- 47:50Speaker 2: I better put tape over my webcam.
- 47:52Speaker 3: Huh. Yeah. Yeah.
- 47:53Speaker 1: There's a few things where I'm like, there's some people
- 47:56Speaker 1: I say, take it all in. Look, I use my
- 48:01Speaker 1: webcam as a mirror sometimes. So definitely not the best.
- 48:04Speaker 1: It just not ideal.
- 48:06Speaker 2: And the idea that your phone is listening to you.
- 48:09Speaker 2: You still get so much pushback from people on that,
- 48:14Speaker 2: and it's like, you're fucking smart TV is listening to.
- 48:17Speaker 1: You with its job. Yeah, we know.
- 48:20Speaker 2: As again, part of the Snowden documents that were released,
- 48:25Speaker 2: the CIA had a program called Weeping Angel and it
- 48:28Speaker 2: just turned smart TVs into listening devices. It would just
- 48:31Speaker 2: activate listening.
- 48:33Speaker 3: That was before they turned into nine inch Nails. They
- 48:36Speaker 3: were called Weeping Angel.
- 48:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, it's a spinoff of Filter.
- 48:40Speaker 3: Actually, yeah, okay, that was the same team behind five.
- 48:44Speaker 3: I's that name's kind of hard. I wanted to hate it,
- 48:46Speaker 3: but I was like, no, yeah, that.
- 48:47Speaker 1: Goes pretty fucking hard. I don't know. I don't know
- 48:49Speaker 1: the correlation between that and a TV, but I'm a finder.
- 48:52Speaker 1: It sounds pretty great.
- 48:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I do need I wish I was in that
- 48:55Speaker 2: room when they were like, you know what we should
- 48:57Speaker 2: call this Weeping Angel. That's probably the garious part of
- 49:01Speaker 2: that program, whatever reasoning they have for calling it weeping Angel,
- 49:05Speaker 2: that's the part where if you read it you would
- 49:07Speaker 2: just drop dead on site from the shots.
- 49:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:11Speaker 1: Yeah, or it's just a doctor who thing.
- 49:12Speaker 2: I don't random name generator one thing.
- 49:16Speaker 3: I started an art museum in Phoenix one time, but
- 49:19Speaker 3: you can google the thing. It's real. It hatches for
- 49:22Speaker 3: classified government military programs and they're fucking insane. One of
- 49:28Speaker 3: them is like a starry sky, a spaceship, an alien
- 49:33Speaker 3: and it says embroidered underneath a lifetime of silence behind
- 49:37Speaker 3: the green Door.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Okay, okay, oh.
- 49:42Speaker 1: No, that's not the behind the green door I first
- 49:44Speaker 1: think of.
- 49:44Speaker 3: But okay, what's the green door you think of?
- 49:48Speaker 1: Oh that's that one really famous porn movie from like
- 49:50Speaker 1: the seventies.
- 49:52Speaker 3: Oh oh is it?
- 49:53Speaker 1: Man?
- 49:53Speaker 3: Yes, shame on me. I don't know my history.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Look, if you don't know your history, you're doomed to repea.
- 50:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:06Speaker 2: So yeah, the government's spying on you wherever you are.
- 50:09Speaker 2: If you're in an English speaking nation, especially, government's listening
- 50:14Speaker 2: and I don't know. I feel like we should all
- 50:16Speaker 2: know that by now. And the reason I brought up
- 50:19Speaker 2: the smart TV thing, if they can turn that into
- 50:22Speaker 2: a listening device, they can turn the thing that has
- 50:25Speaker 2: a microphone that you speak into if you're still taking
- 50:29Speaker 2: phone calls like a fucking psychopath, they just have.
- 50:31Speaker 3: A phone, so they could put a microphone in it.
- 50:34Speaker 2: And yeah, and if you what I've never understood about
- 50:38Speaker 2: the idea, No, your phone's not listening to you, Well,
- 50:40Speaker 2: then how come in answers me? When I call its name,
- 50:43Speaker 2: it's got to be listening to me. Sometimes when I
- 50:47Speaker 2: don't say it's name, it thinks I said it's name,
- 50:50Speaker 2: and it's like, what up? What do you need? So
- 50:53Speaker 2: of course your phone's fucking listening to you. There's no
- 50:55Speaker 2: way it's a coincidence when that thing happens where you're
- 50:59Speaker 2: having a conversation with someone in your living room and
- 51:02Speaker 2: then you go on Instagram and get an ad for
- 51:04Speaker 2: the fucking thing you were just talking about.
- 51:07Speaker 3: Or worst of all, your Apple Watch randomly goes googling
