Most people are "disciples of themselves," presuming they can follow God at their convenience in a manner they determine as appropriate. Rebelliousness is not a 21st-century problem but has deep historical roots. Through His prophet, God said, "Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me."
